Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story.
Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge,
there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice.
And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am.
It's not just any audiobook.
This is a full cast performance.
So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry,
brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads Sing is Mr. Darcy.
And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything.
Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix.
Talk about a dream cast.
Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics,
and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy.
And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels
so fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.
So whether it's your first time experiencing Pride and Prejudice or you've read it a million times, you're going to fall absolutely in love all over again.
So go listen to Pride and Prejudice now at audible.ca slash Jane Austen.
Who's on with OTV?
Podcast One Presents Off the Vine, Great Therapy.
Caitlin Bristow's going to answer your questions.
Drink to your confessions and hear what you have to say about anything Bachelor.
Let's shake it up some more.
Here's Caitlin.
All right, welcome to a hot toddy therapy.
Mm-hmm.
Oh, you could hear you slurp it.
That is the first hot toddy sip I've ever had in my life.
What?
Yep.
You can't taste it, so I was going to say, how does it taste?
But the warmth is nice.
The warmth is nice.
The burn of the whiskey, you know, is doing something to kill some sort of bacteria.
There's like a splash of whiskey.
I was going to say I can't even taste the burn.
Well, you can't taste anything.
I know, I can't, you know, but when you can't taste anything when you have COVID, you could still, maybe the word is feel. You could like feel the burn. Yeah, mouthwash. It's the craziest thing. You feel the bird, but you can't taste it. If you were to take, which I did last night for shock value, we were on FaceTime with our friends. Nobody judged me. I have COVID and I took a shot of whiskey and switched around in my mouth because I just was going to show just how I couldn't taste one little bit. It's actually crazy. And this hot toddy that I made, I made it mostly honey, ginger, lemon, a little,
splash of Grand Marnier, a little splash of whiskey.
And I think that's it.
It's my first hot tub.
And you used to crush these before you would perform on Broadway, right?
Yes, not crush them.
I would always have one.
I would go to the pub that was...
Oh, wow, we got the real...
I think I'm on board.
We got like the real authentic old man voices there.
Oh, stop.
I would go to the pub.
That's my COVID.
You can't, okay, but you're coughing into the bike.
You literally just held your microphone like it was your fist to cough into.
Give me some more haughty-toddy.
Seems to be doing the trick, not.
Anyways, I would go to the pub on Broadway, then go to my Broadway show.
After a hot toddy, it was a really nice little Christmas field.
There you go.
Yeah.
Anyways, this is probably, you know.
Not much Christmas feeling this year.
We actually did go like, what, a few days there without having a drink because of COVID.
Well, this is my first sip of alcohol since the 23rd.
Which is hard over the holidays to just, you know, take a day off.
But that's, I mean, when you have COVID, you can't get out of bad.
It was pretty simple.
I was going to say this has been good for us.
No, it hasn't.
You couldn't have paid me to have a drink.
I still don't want to have this drink other than the fact.
No, it's a hottie-toddy-toddy, so you said it's going to make me feel better.
Well, there's lemon, ginger, a lot of lemon, a lot of honey, and a lot of ginger in there with it.
That's my indicator for the fact I know I'm not feeling well is when I really have no interest.
I haven't, I don't remember the last time I've had a sip of wine, which is really crazy.
Anywho, I get, I mean, I feel like anyone who listens to this podcast knows we have COVID.
So, spoiler alert, we have COVID.
It's, it's been a few days of ups and downs.
I have the headphones and you don't
I can hear every old man
noise you're making you're like this
it's
it's COVID
you can't breathe out of your nose
and then you're breathing out of your mouth
but they say to breathe in through your nose
we have COVID tips for everybody
coming up on this podcast
we're going to tell you
really what what the highs and lows of
2020 what we're looking forward to in
2021 we're going to read some
vinos
they sent me some messages
and in the Facebook group of things they're leaving in 2020
and things are manifesting for 2021.
I'm going to read some of those.
And then we're just going to maybe play a game.
Okay.
We'll see what we have time for.
All right.
Let's do it.
Okay.
I am, it's your show.
I'm here to just be a part of it.
Well, first of all, I wanted to say because you do your restart thing,
you have your newsletters that go out and you always talk about the shit we need to
know.
And this week, I know there was a pretty big thing that has.
happened. You were trying to tell me about it. And I was like, save it for the podcast because if I don't
understand it. The stimulus? Yeah. I was like, he goes, you know the stimulus. And I was like, is that
the thing I have in my nightstand table next to my bed? And he was like, what? And I'm like, what?
Do you have that? Is that a confession that you have a stimulus to the right side of your bed
table? If I had a stimulus, you would know about it. Do you have a stimulator? It's what I call
Mr. Peter Rabbit. Stop it.
I'll tell you about it.
Wait, do you actually?
When you're older.
Is Mr. Peter Rabbit there?
I actually got, I, I,
why the fuck do you call him Peter?
I retired Peter Rabbit when I was about 27.
Bree got it for me as a joke, actually.
She was like, oh my God, I can't believe you don't have a vibrator.
And she got one for me.
And I had like two little rabbit ears.
And I called him Mr. Peter Rabbit.
Why, Peter?
You don't know Mr. Peter Rabbit?
Oh, is that why?
Do you not know Mr. Peter Rabbit?
No. I feel like no.
May I introduce Little Peter Rabbit?
Little Peter Rabbit had to fly upon his nose.
Little Peter Rabbit had to fly upon his nose.
Little Peter Rabbit had to fly upon his nose.
So he flipped it and he flopped it and it wouldn't go away.
Poor little Peter Rabbit.
Okay, so that's why it was a children's song.
See, it was very inappropriate now that I was going to say.
This is a sick twisted thing.
Well, I'm sorry, but that's the name that came to me.
So do you actually have, is Peter Rabbit's a little life?
Can we drop it?
I feel like your mom's probably listening to this podcast.
I just want to know, is there a freaking vibrator in your drawer to the right?
It's called a satisfied professional.
Is it there?
Is the stimulus there or not?
I'm going to go check right when we hang up.
It's called a satisfied professional.
Sometimes when you're out of town, you've got to leave it to the professionals.
gentlemen check your partner's side drawers because i didn't know that existed you should check your
own side drawer mix that in the game okay i am so uncomfortable because i just keep thinking about like
our family my mom's not listen oh your mom's listening oh but she doesn't care she's probably like
you get it girl work it work to peter piper she's probably like do you have a swipe up code for me
oh god oh god anyhow how did we get there oh stimulus
Stimulus
Whoa, that was a long-winded way of getting to the stimulus
It is crazy.
Restart featuring Jason Tardick.
That I say stimulus and that's what comes to mind.
Yeah, you know what?
That is the big thing.
For different strokes for different folks.
So the stimulus package may impact anyone listening.
We'll do a quick breakdown here.
Okay.
$900 billion the American government just passed.
Please start with what the stimulus is.
Just a simple breakdown of what that is because I didn't.
didn't know a simple breakdown okay let's break this is I always like to break it down like things
that are relatable that you always can click break it down think about when you were 16 or 20 in
college things were tough you didn't have money you know it was a tough spell you spent all your piggyback
money what'd you do you went to mom and dad and say hey I'm out of money I need a little help right
that's what the stimulus is except it's the government to the entire country we're having this huge
pandemic right now it is a shit show it's taking people out of work it's really impact
certain industries. So the government is the mom and dad. And they come in and say, we understand
this is out of the norm. We're going to help you guys out. That's what the government's here to do.
So we're going to pass a stimulus to put some monies in your pocket. So that's what it is. Does that kind of
click? Sorry, I have these little headphones in. And you know how I just took a bath? And I was going
head first in the bath. Yeah. I still have water in my ears. Do you shock yourself? No.
What? Did you and Peter Piper?
He's got it all wrong.
I'm just trying to get these headphones to stick in.
Okay, go ahead.
So does that make sense?
Like, why there's a stimulus.
Okay, so it's $900 billion.
It's a total amount going out.
And then the thing is, let's think about how does it impact each person?
Each person, each adult who pays taxes, will get $600.
And then you'll get another $600 for each dependent that that tax payer supports.
So a quick example, you got a family of four.
How much money would you get?
Family of four?
$900 billion.
$600 for the taxpayers, $600 for the dependents,
you would receive a $2,400 check.
So $600 for every adult American who pays taxes,
and $600 for each dependent, the taxpayer supports family of four,
six times four, $2,400.
So that's how much.
Okay.
Who gets that amount of money?
Okay, all...
You're listening at home.
This is it.
You could be one of the people getting up to $2,400, because that
is the max that they will pay out so that is um now let's get into who okay so the all the who is all
going to be determined on your 2019 adjusted gross income so if you made let's just say this if you're
an individual you made more than 87 thousand bucks you're not eligible in the year yes in your
2019 year if you're a head of household who earned more than a hundred twenty four thousand five hundred
dollars in 2019 you're not eligible if you are a couple that files jointly and together you made
over 174k you're not eligible everyone under those amounts are eligible to a certain percentage
the cutoff for the full amount is 75k for an individual 112,500 for a head of household and 150,000
for a married couple if you make less than those amounts you're going to get the full amount
Okay. And they don't have to sign up for anything. It'll just automatically, if you are a taxpayer, it will automatically be in your account.
Correct. If you're an American taxpayer, it's all based on what you made in 2019. And it will be a direct deposit or a mail check. And those are going out this week. That's huge. That's really nice. That's the nice little pep in our step that we needed to go into 2021.
Little pep in your step. You got a family of four and you qualified. Boom. You should get $2,400 in the next week or two.
Okay. And that was only if you didn't make.
that in 2019 so that's a two it's all based on your 2019 taxable income so if you made more than
87 as an individual 124.5 is ahead of household or 174 you will not receive anything I will never
forget when I was making just fuck all back when I was 20 years old well yeah and about
fuck all he's selling real fucking Canadian oh I did oh yeah for sure and I was thrilled
when it was tax season because I was like,
she's going to get $900.
Hell yeah.
And I would spend it on hair extensions or something stupid.
Instead of putting that away to put to good use,
I would literally be just tickled pink if I had $5 of my account
because I'd be like, girlfriend's getting a coffee before work today.
There you go.
I just had such a funny mindset.
That's a good point though.
If you do get it, it's not even taxable income because it's a benefit.
So it's not going to get taxed.
don't blow it on something right put it to good use or blow it on something you know okay there's the
getting the gang there's the different strokes for the different folks there you go you know what do
whatever makes you happy with that cash because it's in 2020 the stimulator has been passed and it made
the stimulator makes galen happy the stimulator makes people happy and it also makes the market happy
the market loves to see it the market loves to see it anyways thank you for that breakdown because
I do think that's important to know.
That is the shit you need to know.
And that's very important for going into the new year because 2020, I mean, okay, we all
could say it till we're blue in the face.
It was a shit year.
We had some peaks.
We had some valleys.
We had some highs and lows.
We had some things that we love, some things that we didn't love.
Overall, it was a pretty shitty year, even though I won the meter ball and I'll probably
never stop saying that.
Like 2020 to me, that's what I'll think about.
People will be like, I'll be like a grandma talking about 2020.
I'd be like, what to the thing?
I thought that was a year.
That was the year I peaked.
He was peaked in 2020.
People couldn't leave their homes and you peaked.
I can't wait to just be an old woman.
I'm just going to just drink whiskey on my front porch and like.
I feel like that's what you do now.
That's very accurate.
So you're living like an old woman.
Deep down I am.
You are an old soul.
Yeah.
And I am not an old soul.
I never thought.
Like an 18 year old.
I always thought I was too until I hit my 30s.
You lost it, eh?
Lost it.
I lost it.
Anyways.
You didn't lose it.
What was your biggest peak of 2020?
Oh, man.
Can we come back to that?
Yeah, sure.
I mean, we all know what mine is.
The Mirabal?
Yeah, of course.
Yeah, and then the second peak would have to be when you found out your dream was becoming a reality.
We should talk about what we haven't talked about.
the fact that I got a false
positive COVID test
while I was on Dancing with the Stars.
Oh shit, we didn't talk about that.
No. Are you sure we didn't talk about that? No.
Oh, we did it on Chicks in the Office podcast,
but I haven't talked about it on my own.
That was, it was what?
Rural.
Week one, I was literally on Cloud 9.
I was the happiest I've ever been.
I am dancing. I couldn't get enough.
I didn't care about blisters.
I didn't care about anything.
Then the ankle injury happens.
And I'm like, please Lord God, please universe.
Align with me here.
This is not how.
I go out of this competition.
You couldn't walk on your ankle.
I don't know how you made it through, by the way.
I swear to God.
I was one of those magician physical therapist people.
I talked to the universe.
Come on.
The universe didn't heal your ankle.
Okay.
I mean, believe what you will, but I cried in a corner of my trailer and spoke to the
higher powers, whatever that may be for you.
And I said, why?
There's got to be a reason.
There's got to be an answer.
Oh, so you, like, pray.
Yeah.
Okay.
Whatever you want to say that is, that's what I did.
Very, I was the most mindful I've ever been in that moment.
It sounds great.
I think it sounds amazing.
But I'm like, no, you had the best physical therapists that were helping you.
And that's like a science thing.
I mean, of course that helps too.
But it doesn't matter.
I couldn't walk on the ankle.
And I won the mirror ball eight weeks later, nine weeks later.
Anyways.
So then it was like.
Fucking brutal.
After that, I'm like, okay, you know what?
I got through it.
I truly still believe this was the universe aligning with me when the COVID test happened.
Because going into week three, I was in so much pain on my ankle that I didn't know what the heck I was going to do to dance.
I was like, I'm screwed.
I'm icing it every night.
I'm crying.
I'm in pain.
I'm taking pain meds.
I'm getting MRIs.
Or is that the right word?
MRI.
Yeah, next right to see if it was broken.
I got a
You got an MRI too
Oh for the tear
That's right for the ligament tear
Okay
And so I'm like
What is happening
And I was just praying
For like two days off
Because that's all I needed
For my ankle
Well
In comes
The universe
And I am sitting there
No I'm driving
I was driving
And somebody calls me
Because we get tested
Every day on the show
For COVID
And somebody calls me
And they go
Caitlin
We have really bad news
your COVID test came back positive.
I pull over so fast
and I just start hyperventilating
because that means I'm out of the competition.
Right.
You have COVID, you're out.
Do not come around another dancer.
Artem had to stay away from his family
and go to a hotel that night.
And I just started panicking.
I had a full boom.
Well, very close to a panic attack.
I couldn't breathe.
And sweet, sweet Dina
who has just been in my corner
since five years ago wanting me to be on the show
and she's just like a little like she's like a precious angel mom around that stage and she's a
casting director she's also a producer and she's just a wonderful human being and she was like
honey you did nothing wrong like that's the times we're living in and like well you know this could
be a false positive and I called Jason and I mind you I had a big business call it started at
11 o'clock I had attorneys on the call I had a banker on a call I had a couple of
investors on this business call and I was like my only thing in the whole day was 11 to 1 and it hits
1101 I kick off the call I was leading the call and I get a phone call from Caitlin immediately
hit to climb right because I told I remember telling you when you left like what do you have today I'm
like I just have this really big call I got a prep for she calls me again 1101 I hit decline and I text
her can't remember I'm on that call no and you called me the third time that's when I said when I get
three calls like that i figured the two maybe you just forgot and like i hit decline so quick after
three i was like there's a problem i said guys i'm sorry uh i need one minute i go over and katelyn is
just bawling her eyes hysterical i said kately hang on one second click over the next call
six people on the call guys we have to reschedule call you all back hang up they were like what
that like that doesn't happen what is happening and that's when you told me
I tested positive for COVID, bawling your eyes out.
Now, I was quickly thinking, okay, she tested positive for COVID.
Ironically enough, the Dancing with the Stars team actually came to the apartment
and tested the both of us the day before because I had to go interview for the dedication week.
And so when that all happened, I said, whoa, I got to go check my results.
Oh, my God, I got to check my results.
I open my computer.
Cato, I'm negative.
And I was like, okay, he's got the end.
Bodies. I'm positive. I have to quit dancing with the stars. And, and they said, you know, maybe it's a false positive. I'm like, okay, I calm down in that moment. Then a COVID officer called me from L.A. and said, you've been, you know, what is it? Tested positive. You've tested positive for COVID. You need to follow these guidelines. You need to quarantine now for 14 days. Do not go around anyone. We'll be checking up on you, blah, blah. And I was like,
like oh god and I said no I think it might be a false and so we went to a walk-in clinic got a
rapid test I'm freaking out and it was it was negative so I had one positive one negative and the
doctor said to me it is highly unlikely that you got a false positive that's just not it's not
going to happen and so there I am bolly my eyes out nobody knows this nobody except for me
artem and and the COVID officer and Dina and well then you and I ran into the first thing we do I said
we have to get an outside council so there's a place around so I said the walk in oh yeah yeah walk in
okay that was the negative one got it yeah um so then I'm like okay I have one negative one positive
like what are the chances and everyone's like I'm so sorry so then I got another one it was negative
and then I got another one it was negative and by the way she is fast forwarding this because
you to get the test and we would wait 24 to 36 hours to wait so we literally just got the test
sitting in the apartment the whole time thinking that dancing with the start is over wait 36 hours
negative but you got to pass two in a row three three in a row three so I ended up having a false
positive I had three actually four I did four I ended up because of our um the rapid one that we did
we ended up I got four negatives in a row and it was a false positive which is so
crazy and it gave me those two days off that I desperately needed for my ankle the two days that
I got to just lift my foot in the air and quarantine and wait for these negative test results back
to back to back and was like okay oh my gosh thank you maybe that was to the higher up 20 20 well
it's definitely up there yeah that was crazy it was crazy that was a wild wild thing anyways I
I don't know if that was as crazy to other people as it was.
No, but it went like us living through.
We were freaking out.
I thought I was out of Dancing with the Stars Week 3 because of a false positive COVID test, which goes to show you.
And this is, you know, something that we've talked about.
And this is why we have talked about having COVID is because we need to, we need to, you know, not right or wrong, but we need to admit that we thought we could beat COVID.
we thought we could be responsible and have somebody over that had a negative test four times in a row.
I don't think beat COVID is the right way to say.
I think what we thought is we could outthink it.
Yeah.
And we weren't being cautious.
We weren't cautious enough.
We weren't cautious enough.
And listen, it's not the first time.
I think we have been in generally, we have been pretty darn good.
We are very stern about masking up when we do, you know, have we made mistakes over the past nine months?
Absolutely.
But yeah, I think bringing light to the fact that this period we had thought about quarantining, right, before we'd go see my parents.
And we committed to doing it.
Get tested, quarantine, then go see the parents.
We got tested, quarantine.
We broke our quarantine.
We broke our commitment by letting someone in the house.
We did that at a calculated thought process thinking, this person is here for a project and they're tested every day and negative, negative, negative.
person comes into our house we have all the negative tests we see them with our eyes and they leave
Sunday morning and get a call that literally their Saturday morning test was positive like what are the
chances of that you cannot make it up which is what I'm saying with like getting a false positive you can
also get a false negative you can also get you know like you just don't know this virus especially
the rapid tests are a lot more questionable they say there are 84%
um true if it's negative 99% true so we want to encourage everybody to just we thought we were
being safe and responsible and we still got it so no matter what you think you're doing you're
you stay home wear a mask be too safe quarantine for two weeks if you're going to see family they have to
quarantine too like i don't know how to put it any other way but covid is bigger than all of us and it it's it's
serious we've had so many unpredictable um days through having covid jason started off with a fever of
103 it was terrible yeah that's the one thing i'll put out there too is it was scary terrible the first
five days yeah the first 103 fever went down to 102 then 101 but waking up in pools of sweat um the
headache there was one period i had a seven hour headache that it was the most pain i've ever in my
life had. I did talk to a doctor about that because I was like panicking. I'm like I've never had this
much pain because there's a lack of oxygen in my brain like this is excruciating. And he told me that
the COVID migraine on males, because obviously there's different things with our makeups with
males is like if that's a 10 passing a kidney stone through through a hammer is a four. That's what
yeah like a penis dick. Like a garden hose. So. So. So.
So, I mean, it was absolute, just, it was brutal.
Now, I think one of the things is we're on day seven.
I don't have to go through childbirth.
I don't have, yeah, I wonder, like, on the pain scale, what they, I have no idea.
It's like, is it, is it kidney stone to birth?
Like, I wonder.
Yeah, I think it's like the same.
I have no idea.
Well, I clearly don't either.
I've never had a baby, but.
The only thing that blew me away was one time I asked Sean Johnson, what was more painful,
training for the Olympics to be a gold Olympian, which you have to.
imagine is years and like non-stop or childbirth and she said child's birth.
I was, whoa, shit.
God bless women.
But do you want to talk about some of the remedies that we learn from doctors and resources
for those that do undergo or have loved ones that are impacted by this?
We learned a lot through professionals because we are not professionals.
I will give you a couple of pointers.
This actually I've seen has been going to.
around of it's from a frontline nurse someone who can like really back up these things that
I'm about to say so it's not coming from me it's coming from a nurse coming to it from a friend
who had it some people might have seen this message along the way but I just want to pass it on
grab a paper and a pen if you're old school like that grab your notes and your phone but if
you want to survive COVID at home I've got some pointers for you here we go sleep on your
stomach at all times with COVID if you can't sleep on your stomach because of health issues
sleep on your side do not lay on your back no matter what because it smashes your lungs
and that will allow fluid to set in which was so weird because I read this after like
literally laying on my back for four days straight also move your arms around frequently
it helps to open your lungs breathe in through your nose out through your mouth this will
help build up your lungs plus help get rid of the pneumonia or other fluid you may have
When sitting in a recliner, sit up straight.
Do not lay back in the recliner.
Again, this will smash your lungs.
While watching TV, get up, walk during every commercial.
Eat at least one to two eggs a day.
Plus bananas, avocado, and asparagus.
These are good for potassium.
Drink pediolite, Gatorade Zero, etc.
Anything with electrolytes to prevent you from becoming dehydrated.
Do not drink anything cold.
Have it room temperature or warm it up.
You always put ice and everything.
I'm like a big room temp guy.
Water with lemon.
honey, peppermint tea, apple cider are good suggestions for getting in fluids, no milk products
because, ew, this always gross to me out. What is it, you say? I think it like it generates
mucous. Dairy. Or pork, which you said maybe the red meat could be inflammatory, yeah.
Vitamins D3C, B, zinc, probiotics, one day, one a day are good ideas. Tylenol for fever,
mucinix mucinix dm for drainage plus helps with the cough peps it helps for cramps in your legs
and one baby aspirin every day can help prevent getting a blood clot which can occur from low
activity a lot of info there but a lot of simple things you can do i mean we're taking liquid zinc
vitamin c galore we're eating bananas avocado i bought asparagus another thing too i mean it was
delivered to the door yeah another thing too is people have the there's the whole physical
versus mental of the difficulty breathing.
And obviously the minute you start to feel
as though there's difficulty breathing,
it becomes more mental.
So what they offer,
one of my buddies who's a doctor at NYU ER said is for Amazon,
20 bucks, you can get an oxygen meter.
And you just put it on your fingertip
and it just reads the oxygen level in your blood.
So it is very objective.
There's no if fans or butts,
it reads the blood oxygen level.
if that number gets below 90 to 92 or in that range,
that's when you want to start thinking about going to the hospital.
So that gives you an idea of what the oxygen level is in your blood,
and then therefore that will give you an indicator of what to do and how to do it.
So we just got one of those off Amazon.
And let's also say that we are not doctors.
No, we are not.
Do not listen to our advice as professionals.
We are simply regurgitating.
Regurgitating advice we have received from professionals.
Right.
And we just want to have.
help anyone who goes through what we did. I mean, I had it okay. I had zero to little symptoms
when I first got diagnosed and then they started coming on and then it was like one by one
one thing after the other. The loss of taste smell. A little sore throat, a little cough,
little congested, very tired. But today we both feel our best after this is what day seven?
Day seven. Yeah. It's scary. The unknown is an absolutely terrifying, terrifying virus.
One of my girlfriends, I showed you pictures.
Remember, she would get a random phantom rash on her whole.
Actually, it would change locations every night.
She would just get a major rash when she went to bed.
Anyways, one quick question for you because some of the vinos have left really, really cool things that they're going to leave in 2020.
What is one thing you're going to leave in 2020?
One thing I'm going to leave in 2020 is COVID.
I hope I break it January 1st.
I hope it's gone.
I think one thing, there's a few things I'll take in.
at 2021 perspective is one of them really focusing on all you can control because the uncontrollables
clearly can be just anything at this point. And then another thing about 2020, you did ask me
the best thing about 2020. I think looking back on it, what I'm most shocked by in motivation
for anyone out there is when I created restart. It was something I've always wanted to do,
was hesitant to do it, was afraid to fail. I created it. And out of nowhere got offered a two-book
series with Harper Collins, one on all the aspects of hiring and firing.
And so out of nowhere, you worked really hard for that.
But I had, no, no, no, I built restart and I got an email out of nowhere, left field from
an agency saying we wanted to rep it, built a 50-page proposal, put it out there, and then
to see Harper Collins pick it up, put an offer out there for a two-book series.
I never, ever thought or anticipated or planned that could happen.
And it did, which is just, it's cool.
Like, if you have a thought and you think you really have something there, just do it.
You never know what else will come from it.
But go on The Bachelor first to get a platform.
There you go.
Yeah, that's helpful.
Just kidding.
You can build an idea from anywhere.
I mean, think about where, who's the guy that had a really big platform with finance?
There's a lot.
Tell me.
God.
I mean.
What's his schick?
The big one.
The big one.
Like Dave Ramsey?
Yeah, Dave Ramsey.
Like, he obviously didn't start with the platform on Instagram.
I'm saying he started in radio.
Yeah.
I believe it was radio.
Yeah.
Maybe someone correct me, but that's his like main thing is radio and podcast.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Okay, so some of the vinos wanted to share, well, I asked them to share, what they wanted to leave in 2020 and what they're manifesting for 2021, which I thought a lot of these were really inspiring and I thought it could inspire some others.
So Faith Nicole said, I'm saying goodbye.
to relying on others' opinions about me to boost my self-confidence and self-work.
That's great.
I am manifesting a supportive, loving relationship,
and I am manifesting a larger subscriber base for my podcast.
Good for you.
Her podcast is called Let's Talk About It Podcast.
And I am manifesting that for her as well.
Faith, Nicole, we believe in you.
Yes.
And we love what you're leaving.
Opinions about you to boost your self-confidence and self-worth?
Who gives this shit?
Well, I mean...
Just keep doing what you're doing.
what was that thing I just posted on Instagram the other day?
It was a quote that I posted in 2017 and even every year it just hits the same because
it goes back to the Dr. Seuss quote, right?
Those who mine don't matter and those who matter do mine.
No, those who mind don't matter and those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
Yeah, I love that.
I really do love that one. Okay, the quote was, no one is coming to save you to give you
permission to choose you or validate you. This has always been your job. You must love yourself
so fiercely and fully that you have no other choice but to be strong for yourself, to fight for
yourself, to be yourself and to build yourself. Absolutely. I think you're going back to business
too with that. It comes down to leverage. If you have confidence in yourself, you have the leverage
I'm not going to take that.
I'm not going to listen to that.
I'm not going to deal with that in a relationship
because you know what your self-worth is
and therefore it gives you the power to manifest
and create what you want with the leverage you have.
Amen, brother.
Hey.
Snack to us limjee.
Madison Harvey says,
leaving behind procrastination and bad energy
about things I can't control.
Manifesting good grades to get into the education program at UBC
and that positive energy will bring me positive results.
There we go.
I do love that.
I feel like everyone's got a really good mindset of going into 2021.
Perspective.
That was one of my things.
Yeah.
If we haven't learned perspective in 2020 of what really matters and how to deal with all types of diversity, we have.
We all have.
We got through it and we're going to get through it.
This is a good one I feel like we'll both like.
Maggie Munley says spending time in the moment.
Jason and I just spent the last hour of me in the tub and him sitting on the floor and we talked about being in the
moment right yeah we did uh stepping away from social media focusing on being present not comparing
myself to others and focusing on healthier habits like cooking reading walking and of course
spending even more quality time with my golden doodle oh my gosh she said a picture of her golden
doodle it's the cutest is it wearing a bill's jersey love it come on no it might be um patriots
same colors i'm sorry how'd that go for it last night too night to go anyways the dog is the
cutest dog and his little birthmark on his tongue oh my god so cute um but spending time in the
moment i think that's a big thing that jason and i are going to focus in 2021 is being in the moment
with each other not that we don't ever do that it's just i think when we're bored stuck at home
i think i just think we're both we have a lot going on in our work worlds and it's sometimes
tough to put it down and separate the two especially when it's like it's just all blob together these
days. This will give you perspective. Nicole Marks. I am going to try and not cry while I read this.
Manifesting a miracle for my dad who was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer at 55 going into
2021 with hope for my family and gratitude for every day we have. I mean, Nicole, we are right
there beside you. We are manifesting a miracle for your dad as well. And you never know what could
happen. But that doesn't, we don't want to dismiss your feelings of how hard.
that must be so thinking of you Nicole and your your family is in our thoughts um wow christine
schneider leaving behind breast cancer i successfully beat it this year 2021 see there are miracles there are
hope there there is hope she said i'm manifesting good health and to radiate happiness like that's
just what a thing to leave in 2020 you know move into a new year and and focus on good
health and happiness that's literally my girlfriend jess i call her bessie cat um she said for for
christmas last year her and kyle her husband just decided to work on their vision board for
2020 and she goes not one thing we wrote down was money was was something you could buy sorry
it was all about being present and like certain things like radiating happiness and they didn't even
realize they were writing that down but and and in
a year like 2020 they actually accomplish those things because it's something you can do with your
family you know and you just you think about how many people the whole world shut down people lost their
identity through their jobs they lost loved ones through crazy pandemic and other situations that
obviously we've talked about here and it's just you know the resilience and adaptability that people
have shown this year it's just it's amazing and it like puts it all puts it all in perspective yeah
I'm going to say two more, because one you will really like.
Jill Cole says the Buffalo Bills win in the Super Bowl.
Yes, Jill.
Could you imagine?
Let's go.
I can't imagine.
They're killing it.
Oh, my God.
Manifested.
Go, go, go, go.
Christy Gaunt says, leaving behind my inability to say no to adding more on my plate,
i.e. saying yes, because I feel bad to decline, or because as an artist, it's more money in my pocket.
my friend told me my mantra mantra i think everyone's with it different maybe it's just me i say
mantra for 2021 needs to be if it's not a hell yes it's a no i like that and manifesting to illustrate
my second children's book hopefully my own idea this time oh get it christie gaunt get it girl
that's the one thing about being a yes man i'm a proponent being a yes like go say yes the
opportunities because you never know where it could lead you. But the thing is, if you do spread
yourself too thin, you won't be able to do things like achieve creating a children's book like
that. So you got it. I like that. And last one I'm going to say is Alex Watson. She said,
I'm leaving behind the feelings of not being a good mom since I decided to go back to work. And I'm
manifesting a down payment on a house for my little family. You are an incredible mom for going back
to work. Mums who don't have a quote unquote job. Yes, you do. You are literally.
bringing up our next generation which is the biggest job in the whole world and but we're so proud
of anyone that you know is a mom in the first place a family just raising kids in this world is hard
and to go out and get a job that doesn't make you a bad mom at all absolutely and you can do it you
can get that down payment it's simply just managing the cash and the cash outflow um one thing i'll
say out there is i get a ton of questions of how to budget how to refinance how to save for
and change your financial picture for 2021.
At the end of the day, you've got to have the tools and resources to do it.
And therefore, I built a model.
It's got 15 models in there to help you with everything, budgeting guidelines,
understanding your income, your expenses, cash flow summaries, everything.
To have access to the model, I do have a link in my bio.
And it's a great way to start 2021 off on the right note by getting yourself financially right.
We love it.
That's amazing.
I feel like I think well I actually do feel like this is the best we felt in the last few days
so I'm glad we could get out a podcast for everybody on on today which is Thursday and we hope
everybody learned something from this podcast and feels good about life moving forward what
Jason's got something else all I want to say is I apologize for all my dad noises but I can't
help it so sorry it's COVID and let's go check out this Peter thing oh my God
No, just because I'm feeling a little bit better, it doesn't mean I'm feisty.
Oh, your cough is really turning me on.
All those dad noises and coughs really.
Nothing like good stimulus.
Fired up.
Packaged.
Oh, God.
2021, it's going to be a good year for everyone.
