Starting point is 00:03:52 therapy. Today I'm sitting down with celebrity obsessed friends and business partners whose social media accounts and podcasts are either your current or soon-to-be obsessions. Started in 2017, comments by celebs captures the funniest most awkward and even romantic comments made on celebrities' Instagram accounts by both celebrities and trolls or followers of the celebs, their tagline, because even famous people love famous people is obviously true since some of the biggest celebs follow CBC's Instagram account, which has over 1.2 million followers, not a big deal, including Joe Jonas, Anna Farris, Chrissy Teagan. Chrissy Teigen follows you guys.
Starting point is 00:04:28 She's amazing. Huge. Kelly Rippa and Andy Cohen, their podcast also titled, Comments by Celebs, Dives into the Real Life Drama and deeper into these comments we all love to read. Please welcome to the podcast, Emma Diamond and Julie Kramer. Hi. Emma Diamond. Sounds like a porn.
Starting point is 00:04:46 Sorry, no. Oh, no. I wasn't going to say that. It just sounds like bossy. Like, I'm into it. Thank you. Thank you. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:53 So welcome to the podcast. Thank you for being here. Thank you for having us. Your guys' account is just so funny. How did you guys start this? Just start from the beginning. Yeah. So we started in April 2017 when Instagram changed their algorithm to kind of highlight celebrity comments.
Starting point is 00:05:07 So what way to change the algorithm to highlight celebrity comments? Like people with blue check marks? So remember back in the day, if you were scrolling down Instagram and you saw, let's say, Kim Kardashian Instagram, there was 50,000 comments. Yeah. When you were scrolling, the bottom two that you would see were just the most recent. They were random people. Oh, and now they're, so they made two changes. So the first change they made was that those people were celebrities that you followed
Starting point is 00:05:30 or other people you followed in your orbit. And then the second change was all of the verified people with blue checks go to the top when you click on the comment section. So all of a sudden we were seeing the stuff that we had never seen before. Right. And I was like, we have to do something with this. And I made the account. And I asked really if she wanted to run it with me.
Starting point is 00:05:47 And here we are. Like, I'm just so fascinated that you like turn this into a business. Like, it's, you, it's, so are we, honestly. Yeah. Like, when was the moment that you were like, all right. Like, did you have jobs and you were like, I get to quit my job and run this Instagram account? Like, what happened there?
Starting point is 00:06:02 Yeah, it's crazy. So I was, after Syracuse, I took a year off and I started Columbia grad school. Yeah. I was getting a master's in social work. And we were, you know, Julie was still a senior. You were doing the account, but it wasn't until February of last year when it really started to take off. What happened was Kelly Rippa started talking about us on live.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Oh, yeah. like our numbers just skyrocketed. We went from like 100,000 to 200,000 in like 12 days. Holy. From then on. And that's what I said. I think I have to defer my second semester. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:30 I really do this full time. And Julie decided to put off even applying to grad school. Wow. Yeah, I kept putting it off. Like I should have applied to grad school. And like we didn't decide to like probably April. I should have applied to grad school in January. And I was like, yeah, you know, I think that one day she's just going to text me.
Starting point is 00:06:43 Like we should do this full time and I can. I knew it. I had a feeling since the beginning. I just felt like it was a really good idea. It's a great idea. Thank you. obviously it's worked out for you guys and you started out anonymously yes and then when did you decide to be like no we are the boss ass bitches behind this shit well so we decided 80,000
Starting point is 00:07:02 followers was when we were going to like tell people meaning people in our own circle like nobody knew that's so funny our friends didn't know oh my gosh no way yeah um and even still i mean we're if you see like the account we have our names but we never post ourselves like our personal accounts are private yeah we've no desire to be influencers right at any means um it's really fun to be like the voices and kind of the business women but that's just not our vibe really to yeah well but you have a podcast totally yeah but that's like i don't know it's you're still just the voice right exactly that's like a loophole in a way yeah yeah okay i get that i i would actually love to be what you guys are doing like it's people i think before before i went on the show i was like i would love
Starting point is 00:07:42 to be like a instagram famous person and then i came up and now i'm like this is overwhelming I would love to run an account that was just like memes or something or like the comments by a celebs is just so cool. Like what is the best comment by a celebrity you've ever seen? What's your favorite? Well, you know my favorite. I know mine. Okay, you go first. Mine is there's a picture of Cuevo and like the Migos at Madonna's house in Miami.
Starting point is 00:08:06 And she just comments, she's like, that's my house. What are you doing there? And Cuevo responds is just like trapping. And I just thought it was the funniest thing. The two of them interacting was just, it was gold. Yeah, that's amazing. Yeah, I think mine was a Julia Roberts clapback. Someone commented like something, her ugly, you know, navy nail polish.
Starting point is 00:08:23 And she was like, it's actually black nail polish if you wanted to just be clear in your insult. It was just like so, I was like, in what world is Julia Roberts clapping back on social media? This is crazy. That's, you know? And so, and what's the craziest celebrity you've ever had interaction with? I have to tell you the day that we met Chrissy. Yeah. She would happen when she was going on live with Kelly and Kelly, like, text us and was like, you guys should come.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Kelly text you? It's all so crazy. It just all happened. I don't know. So Kelly just texted us and like, you know, Kelly Ripper. I don't know if you've heard of her. No way. It sounds so, I sound like so bad when I say that. But that's what happened. She was like, she's coming tomorrow. I didn't put the two and two together. Like, worlds have to collide. Yeah. And it was the night before and we go. And it was just such a, I don't know, like an out of body experience. Not that we were Star Trek. We don't really get like that. But just meeting her and her being like, oh my God, I love the account. We're like, holy shit, you are the account.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Yeah. Yeah. And okay. She probably like inspired the account. Totally. Yeah. She's a huge part. of it. That's amazing. That's probably the moment that you were like, okay, we've made it. It was a big moment. Yeah, definitely. So wait, so you guys went to the show? Yeah. Oh, and then just hung out with Kelly, like backstage. Like a little. I don't know. I don't, you know, like they always say in the beginning, because what happened was when she's, when Kelly first started talking about us on the show, it was like this crazy thing. We were like, oh my God. And then we actually got to know her and she is the most down to earth. Like they always say don't meet your heroes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:44 you may be disappointed. It could not be more false with her. She is the kindest, most down to her, supportive person. We did our podcast. She was our first guest. No way. Yeah, this past summer, her daughter, Lulu, was our intern. Like, they, I consider them like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:56 I love them. They're unbelievable people. Wow, that's so cool. I find their relationship so inspiring, too. Like, they just seem like, like, she just gets up and works out and goes to her job, and they have these kids, and they're so in love, and they just seem like such solid. I've always loved her because I used to watch her on soap operas. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:13 All my children. and I used to record days of our lives and all my children, and I would just fast forward through all the parts to get to, like, Kelly and what was his name on the show? Her name was Haley. Yeah, what was? Mateo. Yeah, yeah. Mateo.
Starting point is 00:10:26 Oh, I loved them so much. Yeah. That's so cool. Thank you. Thank you. You guys are so cute. Okay, so you also started comments by Bravo, comments by athletes, and comments by Bachelor. Yes.
Starting point is 00:10:39 That's amazing. So tell me about the decision to make those into separate accounts. So. And do you have a personal favorite? Okay. Yes. I'll answer all. So we started, we decided to start athletes because there's just so much that goes on in the world of sports commentary. And initially we were super naive like, yeah, we can run it. We can do it. And I quickly realized we know nothing about this. We know celebrities like the back of our hands. Sports stuff is just not so much. Not us. Yeah. So we hired someone kind of just to run that solely and she's amazing. And then the Bravo one, like there is such a, you know, Bravo fanatics are really Bravo fanatics. Yeah. Oh, yes. And people seem. A trend that we saw in the beginning was that people get really upset when you claim like Bravo Leberties or quote reality stars in this category of like celebrity, which is why they wanted us to put them kind of in their own category, which sounds kind of bizarre. But it actually made sense because then those people are so fascinated. And that's why we did Bravo and then Bachelor most recently. I mean, Julie and I are not Bachelor watchers at all.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Like I didn't see any of anything. I just not, I never watched it. And then this season, I started watching Bachelor in Paradise. Oh. And I was like, this is riveting. Yeah. She literally watched one episode and texted me. And she's like, we're launching comments by Bachelor tonight.
Starting point is 00:11:50 And I was like, did you turn on your TV for the first time? And she was like, that's exactly what happened. Oh, my gosh. That's so funny. Yeah. Yeah. It's like, I feel like I, well, I used to watch the show, but Paradise I'd never watched because I was like, eh, it's just too much.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Like, too much Bachelor in one year, like Bachelor, Bachelor at Bachelor in Paradise. And then I started watching, I think, two summers ago. And I was like, oh, dang, dang, this is good. So good. Good. Oh, my God. I was living for it. I know. Yeah. It's funny. So what's your favorite Bachelor comment? My favorite Bachelor? Well, first off, yes, I think it was yesterday I posted you with the thing with the with the pockets. I loved that. Someone comments it on Caitlin's picture like, oh, her hands in the pocket. Like, guess she's engaged and she's like, listen,
Starting point is 00:12:30 like if I have a dress with pockets, I'm going to put my hands in them. Right. Duh. It's so funny. There was some good back and forth between like Derek and Wells always. Those are always funny. They are very funny. Yeah. Wells, I feel like I love him, but I feel like he goes out of his way to try and get on comments by celebrities. Like, I feel like he's always, because he's so funny and
Starting point is 00:12:50 witty and they're always so funny, but it's like every post he's like saying something, you know? He's funny. Yeah, we try to cherry pick, like, decide which ones are the best of everyone, but I think, yeah, he has good content. Yeah, he has really good content. And I just love him and Sarah. And now that you guys have so many followers and more than just the one
Starting point is 00:13:06 initial account, do you guys have certain shifts? Like, how do you do this between the two of you? You have so many accounts that you run, but you said you had an intern. Okay, so the team is really just the three of us right now. Kelly's daughter, Lola, was working with us over the summer, and she was helping more so, like, with some of our Patreon stuff. So it's me, Julian Isabel, who's, you guys can't hear, but she's off to the side. And we brought her on board in January. She's also, like, our best friend in the world.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Yeah. That's so fun that you guys all work together and you're just friends. It's so crazy. We'll be in a meeting and we'll be like, who let us even do this together. Like, who... Yeah. How is this real, like, a real job? I feel that way sometimes, too.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Right? Yeah. It's wild. But do you be, so, like, do you guys just sit and search for comments or do people just send them to you at this point? You want to explain? Yeah, so it's both. So people, we definitely have en masse this, like, amazing following of people who, like, like to feel like they're involved. So they'll send us comments when they see one.
Starting point is 00:13:59 So if something big happens, we'll get sent that comment, like, a hundred times plus. But if there are, like, little ones that maybe aren't as obvious or aren't as big of a deal, they'll get sent to us. maybe once, if at all, and then that's when we start to kind of like hunt for them a little bit. But we'll scroll through our feed all day and come across things. And what we do is when we get one, we'll send it to each other and we'll decide
Starting point is 00:14:22 whether it's a solo, like we want to do it as just one post or if we want to put in a roundup. And if it's a roundup, we add it to a shared album that we have. And then when we hit 10 on there, we'll post it as a roundup. Yeah. So it's kind of just like an onflowing. In the beginning, it was a lot more of us like scrolling, you know, content focused totally. And now that it's become so much more of a business, we can't do
Starting point is 00:14:40 it all day. You know, there's much more, we have the podcasters, like, business stuff going on constantly. But that's why we're so lucky to have these followers that are so involved. Yeah, it's amazing. They, like, do your job for you. It's amazing. Visionaries Jamie Fox, Ashley Benson, and Haley Steinfeld aimed to shake up the eyewear market and they have done just that. Provei Revo was founded on belief that head turning style shouldn't be a luxury reserve for a select few. I'm one of those people, too, that first of all, I've been wearing their sunglasses around in my Instagram story, so I'm sure you've seen. But I wear glasses that don't have prescription. I just like wearing glasses because it makes me feel like a boss.
Starting point is 00:16:00 Okay, cool. How much time do you think you invest a week on, like, finding content? A lot. Yeah. I had to turn my screen time off. Yeah. You know, it just, like, was, I was like, I know it's my job. It's taking over your life, though?
Starting point is 00:16:12 I don't know if it's taking over my life because I feel like it's any other person's job, like the amount of time they would spend at work. Right. I just, like, didn't like seeing the number so glaringly in my face. But also when I was looking, there was something that did a breakdown of like time spent on Instagram between your accounts and between like my personal and my, and the comments. It was like 1% of my personal and 99% on comments. Really?
Starting point is 00:16:32 Yeah. We never. It's really true. We're not. But that's, I think that's why, like, our personality. are very conducive to this in the sense that it would be really hard if we were trying to build like a personal brand as well. Right. Because then you have to keep up with two feeds and a curated feed where it's like our accounts
Starting point is 00:16:45 are in private. We post whatever we want. Oh, that's amazing. I love it. Yeah. Oh, my God. It's the best. Yeah, that is.
Starting point is 00:16:53 Oh, I kind of want to be. Wait, I've been seen lately too that all these accounts go private to get more followers. What is that? So when you, so let's say you're looking at a meme and you want to send it to one of your friends. If you inbox it to them and they're probably. private, they won't be able to see it unless they follow that account. So a lot of like meme accounts will go private so that when somebody sends it, they have to
Starting point is 00:17:14 follow and then they'll just accept everybody at once. Oh, so you can hit like accept all. Well, you go public, everybody gets accepted and then you go back on private. We don't do that on comments. We don't do that comment. Just other accounts. Other accounts. Although every so often we'll be like, should we go private and we're like, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Yeah, because it's an annoying move. And it would scare me to do that because I'd be like, what if I don't know. Yeah. I don't know. It just seems so crazy to go private. I know. I guess if, I don't know, but it works for some people. It totally works.
Starting point is 00:17:40 It's a, yeah, it's a follow. Yeah, it's a growth tactic. That's true. And what is it like working as all, like, best friends? Like, what happens when you have a disagreement? Do you guys communicate well with each other if you do? Or do you just, because you guys seem both really sweet. I mean, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:17:53 I don't know you that well, but you just seem like really easygoing sweet people. So do you ever have, like, disagreements and how do you get through those? It sounds like crazy. I, we really, there's not anything that we've had a major disagreement. I mean, I think. That's amazing. Julie and I are so. incredibly open with each other there's no like passive aggressiveness there's no bullshit
Starting point is 00:18:11 I can I curse on this of course oh okay yeah yeah there's just no bullshit and I'm also just like I don't know we're not we're not like that I it's just easy we're also so on the same page that it's rare that one of us would have something where the other feels so strongly against it right if you look at our they're like the dumbest arguments in the entire world it's like today we were formatting a picture and it was like Chrissy's tweet and it was it was like in the box on Twitter and I was like no it looks better out of it she's like can you just let me do it and I was like can you just listen to what I'm saying it's the dumbest you wouldn't believe that those are real fights it's no it's and people always ask us like business wise what happens
Starting point is 00:18:49 and I think what we were really smart about was in the very beginning before this even took off like my family's very much like business lawyer type and they were like this has to all be in writing and handled yeah so that was out of the way you know I mean there's none of that weirdness we just got that settled that's true for you guys doesn't mean has your counter ever got any backlash? Like, I don't know why it would, but I always just wonder if you, like, because you always pick up on the trolls. Do you guys ever get trolled? Rarely. Yeah, I can't imagine. Usually when people comment if they comment negative things on the account, it's about, like, who we're posting or about, like, the comment, but not about us or our account. Yeah, I mean,
Starting point is 00:19:24 I don't, we try to say pretty, like, lighthearted in our content. We also try to, like, for example, if there's something that we think one would, like, make, even if it's funny, but we know that it would make a celebrity look really bad we don't post it yeah because like just there's no need for that like we don't need them all getting all this press for that and if it's like a sensitive issue like if it's someone's kid we'll ask the person like we'll dm the celebrity be like we wanted to post this but totally don't want you to feel like just give us you're okay no problem either way and there seem to be super receptive to that so really so they see your messages like even if they don't follow you then they respond that's cool some of them yeah not always but definitely a decent
Starting point is 00:20:00 amount, especially if, I think that when celebrities, if it goes to their message requests and they see our account, which they recognize the name, and it's like they open the message knowing it's something like asking us permission, they're usually pretty receptive to that. Yeah. And then when did the idea for the podcast start? So that was in July of last year, 2018. We were approached by Betches at the time. We're with a different network now. We're with Cadence 13. But they approached us and they were like, we, you know, we're expanding our podcast and we'd love you guys to come on board.
Starting point is 00:20:29 And we were like, it's something we'd always thought of, but we didn't really, I don't know, think about how it was going to actually happen. So I remember Julie Vesilt School. I went in for the meeting by myself. And I called her. I was like, I think we're going to do a podcast. Like, what? The last day of my senior year, I, like, we stayed over the extra night after graduation. And I, everyone else was, like, going to spend the whole day in Syracuse.
Starting point is 00:20:52 And I left on, like, a train at, like, 6 o'clock in the morning to come home. we had our like meeting to like finalize everything yeah day after I'd graduated really yeah it was crazy and I remember I was originally gonna come home the night before this is a really funny story I was gonna come home the night before so that we'd like be in the city no problem ready to go whatever and I like called because I wanted to stay that actually I called him I was like could you do you think maybe like I could just stay and take like a really I promise I'll be there she's like yeah of course like yeah I was so nervous she's like yeah duh of course as long as you're there I don't care what time you leave it was so funny that's cute
Starting point is 00:21:27 And then what is the podcast called? Is it celebrities? Just comments by celebrities. Okay. Oh, comments by celebs. Yeah. Comments by celebs. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Yeah. It's not celebrities. No, so people always see. Yeah. It's shorter. Yeah. So you guys talk about pop culture and is that the, like, main topic of conversation on the podcast? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:45 We just basically break down whatever happened that week. Yeah. And then we do like an award ceremony where we give the funniest comment and the best clap back of the week. And then we do like a Kardashian recap where we talk about all things Kardashian. Genius. And then it's really just like, I don't know, kind of like a more intense analysis on things in pop culture. Because I think we sometimes take like a little bit of a, we try to give the facts. But then we also take like a psychological approach of what we think is going on.
Starting point is 00:22:09 And then we do a second show, which is like our Kardashian bonus show. So in season, we just recap Sunday nights episode, like which we'll do today. Yeah. But in the off time, we were doing, we did a series of like 15 deep dives because we had, you know, we had to kill time in between the two seasons. Yeah. So we did like a Chris Jenner deep dive, a Kanye deep dive. Oh, that's awesome. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:22:26 We learned so much. Yeah. A lot of info. Have you ever interacted with any of them? No, except for the one best thing that ever happened to us. What? We had Brad Gressky on our podcast, and he's, like, also a big kind of Kardashian enthusiast, and we were talking about Kim.
Starting point is 00:22:44 And I asked him, like, what about her do you find so fascinating? And whatever he's telling us. So I post that on our story. It's like an audiogram. Yeah. And he reposted it, and then she reposted his story. Uh-uh. And Isabel is she's texting us
Starting point is 00:22:58 And you can't understand what she's saying It's in all capital Like Kim guys Kim Emma I'm like what She's like Emma your voice is on Kim's story What? And I go It's the audio
Starting point is 00:23:08 Julian was no My dad is crying Like it was out of a fucking movie That's so funny Yeah it was it was beyond Yeah that's I mean you that's when you know you made it I don't know for us
Starting point is 00:23:21 We were just like This is the coolest thing ever That is so cool So, wait, so you have two podcasts a week? Two a week, yep. Okay, what's the most fascinating thing about the Kardashians to you guys? Oh, wow. How much time you got?
Starting point is 00:23:36 I mean, you go, I don't know, I think for me at least, it's like the way that they have built this into, when you really think about where they started from, not that they, listen, they always were like a privileged family and stuff. They always were in the limelight because of robber and all that stuff. But look at what they have built to become the most recognizable family in America and to build a brand that hopefully they're great. grandchildren and foreign won't have to work is unbelievable the marketing genius of this family whether or not you like them great it's oh my god yeah yeah yeah if you like them or hate them you have to yeah yeah that yeah that's you guys just love them oh my god i do too we're just like i think it's more of like an admiration yes that's how i that's how i feel like i'm just impressed by all of them yeah exactly it's not we like obviously we're fans but it's not like this diehard
Starting point is 00:24:20 fandom kind of thing yeah yeah you know yeah i know what you mean yeah i'm like trying to of other like what's in what's the hottest topic in this week right now like what in pop culture well what's the what did you want to say I mean this the Britney Spears update is kind of crazy what's that so her you know she's under the conservatorship by her father yeah so her father just is stepping down from the conservatorship among claims that he um abused her 13 year old son and that there was some physical alteration between them yeah and in in conjunction with this her Kevin Federline her ex is now requesting he got 70% he They used to have a 50-50 custody split.
Starting point is 00:24:57 Now it's 70-30, Kevin Federline. What? Which if you would have told me that Kevin Federline would have 70% custody of those kids. Wait, what? So what is happening with her? It's a question of the hour. Yeah. I mean, who know?
Starting point is 00:25:09 It's really just like sad. No, it's heartbreaking. Yeah, no, it is. I follow her and I just, I've always been like such a Brittany fan. And I just, every time she posts something, I'm like, I don't want to hug you. Like, what's happening? Like, you just want to give her a hug. There's obviously something wrong.
Starting point is 00:25:24 There's just no way that it's not The posts are too I don't know something I don't know what it is And I would not feel like comfortable Like I don't know even making an assessment Or like diagnosing who knows But something's not right
Starting point is 00:25:35 No And then I wonder if it's always been that way Right and we're just seeing it now I don't know It's so sad because you think about the way She like grew up And it's kind of like a Michael Jackson situation You know like it's just
Starting point is 00:25:47 The way she was brought up And being in the public eye like that And her public meltdowns And everything she's gone through I'm like, God. We talk about that all the time, like with Justin Bieber, for example. Yeah. It's like you have to give these people a little bit of slack in the sense of it.
Starting point is 00:26:01 Totally. Imagine if you're 13 and all of a sudden your entire world kind of blows up and you become like the most famous person going from nothing. That fucks with you. Yeah. Oh, absolutely. It takes a lot of therapy and a lot of grounding to not be fucked up. Yeah, absolutely. We just have a lot of like empathy for those people. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:15 Oh, that's sweet. I like that you think that way because I do too. I just, there's just something about Brady to me. But the thing is with Justin Bieber, to me, he seems like, angry. and upset where Brittany seems still so happy and like, like that she doesn't even realize, yes. Like she doesn't even realize what she's going through. She does. She seems like a child.
Starting point is 00:26:35 Gosh, I'm worried about her. Us too. Every day. Every day. I wake up and I'm like, I hope Britney gets better today. She's not kidding. Okay, well, let's get into confessions because I know you guys have one for me. Give it to me.
Starting point is 00:26:51 What's a good one? Okay. Get it off your chest. I told the story on our podcast when we had the fosters on. But it's just so funny, and I have no shame about it, so I'll tell you. So long story short, I was in a relationship with someone for forever. And he still is my best friend to this day. Oh, nice.
Starting point is 00:27:09 Truly. For a while, when we broke up, whatever, he started dating someone else. And this girl was a ballerina. Yeah. And she had an open Instagram account. I was like, we were totally broken up. There was no jealousy there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:22 It was like a conscious decision to not be together, but I was still so curious as to what was going on. And her account was open, but I obviously didn't want to look at her stories because I didn't want her to see that it was me. So I, like any other curious ex-girlfriend would do, made a fake account called Daily Ballerina Inspo. Okay. No, just me. Yeah, this gets good. And it was like a private account, but it had like, I posted like, I don't know, 20 pictures or something so that it looked like kind of legit and I put like an icon, whatever. And the only thing I used it for was just to watch her stories.
Starting point is 00:27:54 I would never, like, troll her or anything like that. I literally was just curious. Yeah. And I'm in L.A. with my friend Rachel. And I thought this was, like, the most genius plan. I was like, this is the best thing ever. Like, first off, I was giving all my friends the password so they could look at whoever they wanted to look at without whatever. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:09 And I'm in L.A. with my friend Rachel. And all of a sudden, I get a notification on my phone. And she gets one. We all get one. Yeah. Oh, boy, I got one. Oh, no. The notification heard around the world.
Starting point is 00:28:20 your Facebook friend Emma Diamond is on Instagram as Daily Ballerina InSpo. No, no, no, I know, I know. Oh, no. So I am like, what the fuck? I'm literally sitting there. I'm shaking. I'm like, Rachel, Rachel, she's like, it's fine.
Starting point is 00:28:33 It's not a big deal. No one else got it. So I started texting my friends. And they're like, yeah, we did. But like, probably not a lot of other people did it. And then I'm like, tell me right now. And every single person got it. No.
Starting point is 00:28:44 I truly in my life, I'm a very like calm, level-headed ration person. I typically am not in situations like that because I'm not like, I don't do that, like, crazy stuff. Let me tell you something. I lost it. I immediately was on Instagram, like, trying to change the whole thing, deleting the account, trying to change the email address, trying to, like, delete my Facebook. I literally deactivated in my Facebook.
Starting point is 00:29:02 I was having an out-of-body experience. It was sheer panic. It was a question that I forgot the answer to in this whole story, which is truly one of my favorite stories of all time, is did Thomas know then or he found that after when you told the story? He didn't know then. He found that after because he, it was nothing to do with him. Like, he's not an. active guy in social media. Well, thank God you weren't being like a dick on there or anything. Oh my God. That would have been. I would obviously would never have been you, but oh my God. That
Starting point is 00:29:28 would have been some shit. Yeah. It wasn't. And people are like, oh, were you embarrassed that she knew like, I didn't give a shit about her. It was the fact that everyone else knew. Like, anybody who knew anything about the situation knew that I will never forget getting that notification. Oh. I was like, it's over. I was like, it's over. So we had a good run. And it was nice being friends with you. And good luck in the next chapter in your life i said to julia i was like you know what if i can get through this i can get through fucking anything like this is the most mortifying situation so i think for me that's up there with probably the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to me that's gonna be like the story that like when your kid comes home from school and they had like a really embarrassing
Starting point is 00:30:04 you're like wait until you go that shit uh yeah oh my goodness gracious that's funny yeah how long ago was that um 2017 oh yeah so that's you're like 2017 april literally I probably will be 2.02 p.m. Yeah. Oh, that's a good. We made it past that. Thank you. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:30:23 We made a pass that. Thank you for sharing that. Yeah. That's thoughts and prayers with you. Thank you. My confession. Well, we were talking about this before, and I was like, I have nothing that comes even close that, but a funny story of, like, me confessing something to Emma, which I think is a good story is a good story is a little bit of background before I tell it is, I promise it's a funny
Starting point is 00:30:42 story anyway. I promise it's sober start is that Emma's mom passed away last year. And a couple I'm so sorry Thank you A couple months after I was in Emma's apartment alone And I was smoking in her apartment
Starting point is 00:30:55 Just by myself whatever And there was an ashtray that I had dropped And it spilled all over the carpet Like the nice expensive rug whatever And I'm like fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck I'm like freaking out And the backstory of this Is that my mom before she died
Starting point is 00:31:09 Like decorate like it's like a shitty apartment It wasn't she redecorated the whole thing Before she died Like it was like her thing So I'm freaking the fuck out. There's black ash on this gorgeous, like purple, gray, white rug, and I'm like, I'm never going to recover, whatever. I'm like, I FaceTime Isabel, and I'm like, what the fuck do I do?
Starting point is 00:31:26 I'm like, she's like, get the vacuum out. Like it's going to be, I vacuum it up. You can't see anything. I'm like, Isabel, we are never telling Emma. We are taking this the great. No one will ever know. A week later, Emma walks to the, we're in the apartment again. And Emma was like, oh, Emma had a reading with a medium.
Starting point is 00:31:39 Oh. And she's, oh, my God, Julie, my mom spoke about you. I go, she is about to rat me out for spilling ass on the carpet. Did she? No, it was like something cute, but she was like, what do you mean spilling ass on the carpet? I had to tell her. I was like, wait a second. Did my mom, like, from heaven just make you tell me? Like, it was the funniest. I could have sworn. I could have sworn. She was about to like, my mom told me what you did the other day. That would have been incredible if that happened, though. Could you imagine? Talk about proof. Oh, my gosh. Okay. Was it like a famous medium or was it just someone you found? No, not. I'm actually, she may be famous. I mean, her name is Marilyn Kaff. My whole family.
Starting point is 00:32:16 family is really pretty spiritual and I've done that for years I love oh she's amazing this woman I will give you her information okay I spoke into a lot in my life yeah and literally the first thing she said to me on the phone was okay your mom is saying that your dad has cardiac issues and he's not taking care of himself keep in mind my dad had two heart attacks like and we just had the conversation yesterday I mean that was the first thing she said no way to the tea she nailed everything there's stuff that like I mean I'm not a skeptic in general so I guess if you're a skeptic maybe it's harder because you know but for me I felt I walked out of there and I was like like, or it was in my house, it was on the phone. I was like, wow, this is the most validation I could
Starting point is 00:32:49 ever need. Really? Yeah, totally, like beyond. And it was over the phone. Over the phone. A lot of them are. Really? Yeah. All right, let's talk about saving money. Starting point is 00:33:37 So whether that's flights, presents, just all around decoration for Halloween and then Christmas, I feel like this year. Any guilt I have over spending some mullah is made so much better by knowing I'm getting the best deals. So I actually saved $49.54 getting some Halloween decorations. It's free to use, installs on your computer in just two clicks.
Starting point is 00:34:07 it'll save you money. So you can treat yourself to something nice. Get honey for free at joinhoney.com slash vine. That's joinhoney.com slash vine. Do you believe in dog mediums? So I'm not like really a dog person. I'm not really an animal person, but my aunt, I know. It's like, it's like, it's a little sociopath. If she wasn't the most like empathetic person I'd ever if I would think she was a sociopath. Yeah. Yeah, it's very off brand for me. I don't know. I just, oh, I do know why. It's because when I was younger, I had like, experience that scared me that's why um anyway so my aunt is like super into that kind of stuff and she's two dogs and yeah really after she had that i totally believe it i know i do too but i like
Starting point is 00:34:48 had a phone call with a woman who she's like all right it's just i'm just gonna talk to your dog for a second and it was just silence for 10 minutes and i was like and his ears were like perking up see it was crazy and then she told me stuff like about the kind of dog he was and she was right and she doesn't follow us on social media she was like an older lady like it was crazy I believe. Think about it like this. How narcissistic would we have to be to think that we are like the greatest power? Right. That's absurd. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, of course there are there, like, and our souls transcend this. I don't know. I have so many thoughts on it. Please go on. I love listening to this kind of. No. I mean, maybe it's just because I've had a lot of like loss in my life. And so, I mean, for, and for being 24, I feel like I've experienced a lot of death. And maybe it's just comes from a place of it helping me get through it. But I really genuinely believe that our, my therapist always says to me. And it's so true for so many. different reasons that like we're not bodies with souls we're souls with bodies in the sense that like our bodies are kind of just this in my view at least it's like carrying case yeah and i think that when our time on earth ends it doesn't mean that our soul ends i know i know for a fact certain things
Starting point is 00:35:52 about my mom it's just not a coincidence right certain and i guess again if you're a skeptic you could think it is but i just think that there's something really comforting to that i agree with you and and i feel like if you're a skeptic it's because you've kind of got it that shut off that idea like you're not open to it totally so you don't like feel i've had so many experiences with with that kind of thing like and i i agree with you like i think your souls like live on for example in my last relationship he spoke out and he didn't believe in this stuff and i said you have to ask for signs or you have to like ask for someone to come through and he was like so i can just ask like my grandpa to like give me a sign i said yeah and so he did and that night at two in the morning the tv turned on
Starting point is 00:36:34 and just went full blast. Like, all the volume just turned up. And it's never happened before that, and it's never happened since that. See? And he was like, holy. At first we thought somebody had broke into our house and they were trying to, like, lure us downstairs. And we were so scared we called 911.
Starting point is 00:36:49 But then after, I was like, it's because you asked for a sign. Yeah. And he was like, holy shit. Like, that's crazy. It's so real. That's their way of communicating. Yeah. We had, I'll just give you one example that to me was like very telling.
Starting point is 00:37:02 Back in February, we had our first ever like, live event because we don't really like I said we don't really do stuff like that and it was at we work and it was just like a really I don't know it was a really cool experience for us because it was the first time in person we were connecting with the followers and it was like such a milestone in terms of our business and it was an amazing night my whole family was there and I got back to my apartment when I was alone and I was hysterical like I just in that moment I just wanted my mom there more than anything one because I wanted her to see it which I knew she did from above and two because my mom was like the most you know engaging enthusiastic gorgeous woman and I just wanted
Starting point is 00:37:33 I love showing her off. Yeah, and I couldn't introduce her. Anyway, I get him, I'm hysterical. I'm out of nowhere. The lights start going fucking crazy. No. They've never done that before. Truly, like, flickering like crazy.
Starting point is 00:37:43 And I was like, there you are. Yeah. You're right here with me. What am I crying about? Right. And she was saying, like, I was there. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:49 Ever since then, though, the lights will do this sometimes and we'll always, always be like, Karen, like, whatever. So I was in the apartment and Emma wasn't there. And I had a friend there and I'm turning the lights on. It's like not working. I'm like, Karen, can you make the lights work? And my friend's like, what are you talking about? I was like, oh, sorry, I was talking to Emma's mom.
Starting point is 00:38:05 Oh, my gosh. Oh, I love that. Yeah, that is comforting, isn't it? To me, it is. Absolutely. Okay, well, I love that story. And thank you for sharing that with us. We'll be right back with more off the vine, grape therapy.
Starting point is 00:38:21 Now back to off the vine, grape therapy. Okay, we're going to play a game, and it's called Celebrity Scenarios. and you just tell me what celebrity you would choose for the following scenarios but you can't use the same celebrity twice. Okay. Okay. So celebrity you'd want to get high with. Seth Rogen.
Starting point is 00:38:40 Oh, totally. God damn. Chelsea? Yeah, Chelsea Handler, I guess. That's a good one. That's a really good one. I would want to smoke with her too. Or it's Snoop.
Starting point is 00:38:51 I've smoked with Snoop. Shut up. Swear to God. How was it? I was underage. Oh, my God. He obviously didn't know that. But yeah, so I was at a concert, and it was an underage concert, which is, this is very
Starting point is 00:39:04 concerning when I look back at it now, because his DJ pointed out to me in the crowd and was like, you're coming backstage with us after me and my girlfriend. I'm like, oh, my God. And so we went back and we're all sitting in this room. I have a picture somewhere, like, I wish it was on Instagram, but it's like an actual photo that I developed. Oh, my God. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:25 And it was, so it was me, Snoop, his uncle, and his. DJ and my girlfriend and we were all sitting around and it was in the time where Snoop said he didn't smoke weed anymore and we were also and he put it in these blunt wraps and I was like I didn't even smoke weed at that time I was like 17 and I was like well Snoop dog offers me weed I'm gonna smoke it yeah yeah that's a story and so I did and it was at an age also where I had a diamond in my tooth oh that was a trend back in the day and he was like you got a diamond on her tooth and I was like yeah and he goes shit she's got the bling bling that's amazing yeah that's so good so I smoked weed with Snoop dog wow that's a
Starting point is 00:40:07 bucketless thing that is a bucketless that is yeah thanks yeah seriously wow yeah I didn't even think of that till right now like when I was writing out of these I didn't even think about that story till you said Snoop Dog and I was like wait I have smoked with Snoop Dogg that's fucking cool that's cool thanks I wish it was back in the day where like I wish back in the day there was Instagram so I could have had that up on my stories or something. Okay, celebrity you'd want to be best friends with. You know, this is the answer that everyone gives. Everyone says Chrissy Teagan. Yeah. I don't know. From following her, it just like, I get it. Yeah. She really is that type of, of person and friend. But my answer, I think,
Starting point is 00:40:41 would be Kim. Yeah. Kim is a good answer. Mine would still be Chrissy, which I can say because she didn't fully give it as her answer. Yeah, you can say that. I didn't give him. Mine's totally Kim. Yep. Yeah. That's, that would probably be mine. Yeah. Okay. Celebrity that you'd want to neighbors with I mean imagine having Kylie's closet I was gonna say Kanye oh because of the Seth Rogan story what's that set Rogan told a story which is like probably one of the funniest stories ever heard that he had he was in his house and he was in his front yard and Kanye like ran by with his trainer one time and Kanye like stopped in front of his house and was like hey man you're fucking funny and then like kept going yeah and the next day Seth Rogan said he was like I was out like
Starting point is 00:41:23 whatever I was so hung over in bed and somebody rings the doorbell and it's like our doorbell is hooked up to an intercom and my wife is like comes into the room and she's like Kanye's outside. He wants to know if you want to play basketball and it was just Kanye standing at his front door with a basketball under his arm. And ever since then I was like
Starting point is 00:41:41 I would do anything to be neighbors with Kanye. I mean he's one of my favorite people in the entire world but that story was just. He's the most fascinating human being on the planet. Like it's insane. That's so funny it's like so normal but you're like what Kanye West? It's not so normal because no one rings their neighbor's doorbell anymore. Yeah, that's kind of old school. Right?
Starting point is 00:41:58 It's like, hey, Seth Rogenhomes? Does he want to play basketball? Like, can I borrow a cup of sugar? Exactly. Yeah, that's true. Oh, that's funny. Kanye's a good one. Who did you say? Oh, Kylie. I said, I think. I mean, there's so many. Access to the closet. That's a good one. Okay, celebrity you'd want a vacation with. Question. I know. It's such
Starting point is 00:42:16 a good question. I have so... I feel like I can answer all these dressed with Kardashians, which I'm not going to. I could totally... I could totally say Courtney, because noody vacations like Courtney in my opinion like those those boats in Italy and no it's amazing the way she does it is just like to me it's I like feel like that resonates with me more than someone even if there are more luxurious ones I just I don't know I appreciate those yeah but I have to say recently you know who else does a really good vacation who Bethany Frankl oh really yes she was in positano a couple weeks ago and those stories were like I got to go there oh it's my favorite
Starting point is 00:42:47 place on earth yeah yeah it's the best oh she oh wait I need to follow her she a good follow amazing stories. Really? You have just for, even just for a story, hilarious. Yeah, she does have good stories. Okay, that's so good to know. Yeah, you'll be hooked. So who, this is just sidetracking, but who's your favorite celebrity account to follow? Who's your favorite person to follow on social media? I think Will Smith is an amazing follow.
Starting point is 00:43:08 Really? Yeah. He has some of the best content on Instagram because he basically has a videographer with him 24-7. That's an exaggeration, obviously, but like for small things and nobody would think to hire one. And he's just so funny. and like he makes such Monday and activities so fun
Starting point is 00:43:23 and so lively Oh okay so I'm gonna follow Bethany Frankel and Will Smith Yeah those are That's mine I've been so into the Bieber Follow lately He just has been giving us
Starting point is 00:43:31 It's like it's I can't look away Yeah Does he do stories though? Yeah Oh my God He'll do stories of Haley He'll do stories With the dog and the new cat
Starting point is 00:43:39 Like together And he's amazing content Oh okay I already follow him But I feel like Look at the stories Yeah I'll watch them
Starting point is 00:43:46 Okay Well he's been doing this thing Where he like Shows the inside of the house So randomly you're like holy shit, that's like their living room. And I know it's so stupid. These people are just like us, but there is something cool about seeing Justin Bieber's living room, whatever it is.
Starting point is 00:43:56 I know. I agree with you. I agree with you. Okay, celebrity from, well, I don't want to use the term celebrity, but celebrity from the Bachelor franchise you'd most like to meet. It's hard if you don't really watch. So you're probably going to say someone from the season of Paradise. For sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:14 Who do I think? I know you really have no idea. No, I was going to say Sean Lowe. I just think the kids are adorable. They're so cute. I just think he's funny and I think the kids are so adorable. That whole family is actually hilarious. Like even their kid, Samuel, is so funny.
Starting point is 00:44:26 He is funny, I know. So funny. I mean, probably the most cliche answer is Tyler, but I don't think that's mine. I'm trying to think of who that. You know, I really would love to have just like a sit-down conversation with Dean. Oh, yeah? Dean and Kailen, like, together. Whoa, I just had a dream last night that Dean didn't like me.
Starting point is 00:44:43 Oh, that's interesting. Weird. I just remember that right now. Isn't it where you remember the dream? Yeah, go on. No, I just was interesting. by their dynamic and I still have to catch up a little but I would love to just kind of talk to them and see what I don't know I want to know what like life is like living out of a van
Starting point is 00:44:57 oh my gosh I was just with him I don't know why I didn't ask him that but yeah it's interesting that's very interesting totally yeah okay celebrity from Bravo that you'd most like to meet I would say Bethany okay yeah oh she's oh wait she's a is she a housewife she just quit oh quit okay if you can use the word retired oh hey resigned resigned He resigned. Took some political. Okay. Favorite.
Starting point is 00:45:21 Not favorite. Celebrity that you'd want to go on a date with. Mine's Justin Bieber. Mine's Drake. Mine's Drake. Okay. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:29 I'm just going to say like a one that we've been talking about a lot recently. I have no idea if he's married or not. Kim Kardashian. No. I have been so into John Hamm recently. Oh, I love him. Just, I don't know. Someone was on our podcast and they were talking about him and I was like, he's unbelievably
Starting point is 00:45:42 handsome. He is. And he's got a big wean. Yes. He does. I know those. pictures um when hold on who was it oh um do you know who paul bison at is he's um he's with barstool sports and and he does podcast but they had john ham on their podcast and i guess they were told
Starting point is 00:45:59 like he hates when you bring up the the penis conversation yeah like you like because paul was like oh that was the only thing i wanted to ask him yeah because there was that picture that got out right of the like outline of it and everyone was like whoa that's Don't wear gym shorts. If you, like, have a big dig and you don't want people to know it. Yeah. He wants people to know it. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:46:20 That's like Orlando Bloom. You know those pictures of him on the paddleboard? He just recently came out this week and was like, was like, I swear my dick isn't that big. Like the sensor was just really generous. By the way, I saw it without the sensor and it is big. Wait, who is this? Orlando Bloom. The paddleboard pictures.
Starting point is 00:46:35 Oh. Have you seen them? You saw his actual? They have it. They haven't non-censored. Let me find it for you. Hold on. You have it?
Starting point is 00:46:42 I have the Beaver one. Julie literally Have you ever seen the Beaver one? No, give us. Show me the Beaver one. Oh my God. I can find out my camera one one one one second. That is hilarious.
Starting point is 00:46:51 I'm surprised that you haven't seen. Oh my God. The Beaver one is like, it's a classic. I didn't even know Beaver showed his hammer on. Well, it wasn't. It was a paparazzi shot, I think. Shut up. That's pretty large.
Starting point is 00:47:04 The funniest thing is that this actually happened, right? I'm not making this up. That when it happened, his dad was like, that's my boy. Yeah, yeah. Wait, I remember that. But I didn't know. There was actual footage. I can't stop looking.
Starting point is 00:47:16 First of all, wieners are so gross. But like, wait, isn't that, like, really not okay for a photographer to put that photo? Oh, no, not okay at all. It's not okay at all.
Starting point is 00:47:25 But if it's out there. Listen, I can't even tell you, it's not even that I often look at this picture. Oh, my gosh. Orlando. The shadow kind of cut it off at first, and I thought it was really small. And I was like, oh, that's unfortunate.
Starting point is 00:47:37 I just zoomed. I just zoomed. I'm zooming. Okay. Wow. I'm zooming. I'm doing. like that is just too funny i can't you know here's the thing here's the thing i am a thousand
Starting point is 00:47:48 percent for like the fact that it's such an invasion of privacy and obviously you can never take those pictures but let me tell you something if you're listening to this and you genuinely you are a straight woman and you saw those pictures and you're going to tell me that you have the moral compass to not look i just don't believe it yeah i don't believe i i have to look i have to look i consider myself incredibly morally sound of justa me versus dick is in front of me i'm going to look yeah absolutely well that's i mean same thing with if uh who's who's newties was she she released them Bell-thorn. Baller fucking move. Yes.
Starting point is 00:48:15 Ball or move. She just put, somebody else did it too. James Charles, I think. James Charles. A lot of people have done it. Oh, Whitney Cummings. She just did the same thing. She just put it out.
Starting point is 00:48:27 She's like, I'm like, if you're going to try and do this to me, I might as well do it to myself. Like, here are the photos. Yeah. Bella Thorne did that too? Yeah. I think it's such a baller move. It is. Oh, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:48:37 And I feel like I would do the same because it's like at the same time you're not putting out a bad nude like if you're taking nudes that's exactly our point oh we're talking about this exactly our point it's like it's if it's I'm only gonna be embarrassed if it's one that I didn't like it if I didn't like it it's not it doesn't exist exactly you only take nudes when you're feeling real good about yourself okay you know that like you know how's a nice that those prank texts go around so there was that one prank text that went around and it was like oh my god your nude is on your story yeah a nude is on your story and if you scroll down it's like like ha ha just kidding send this to 10 people literally someone said that to me and immediately with that
Starting point is 00:49:11 even thinking. I was like, do my tits look good? It was my first question. Immediately without even thinking, when I got that, I was like, holy fuck, I posted one of them as nudes by accident. That's so, it's like my biggest fear because I have been known to, I, I spoiled my whole season of The Bachelorette on Snapchat by accident and Snapchat had me in bed with the guy and I just thought it was going to one of the producers and I didn't realize I put it to my story.
Starting point is 00:49:32 And I've done stupid shit like that all the time where I'm like, I ruin things for people and I just accidentally put things on Snapchat. And so that has been a. fear of mine that I would accidentally put a nude out on Snap or Insta. Listen, if it happens, it happens, right? Well, I did have a nip slip. Hey, we all do from time to time. It was, it was out there.
Starting point is 00:49:52 And so many people messaged me and I was like, oh, well, at least it looks good. Exactly. Exactly. I feel the same way. That's so funny. Okay, wait, do we have time to, how long have we been doing this? I have no idea. What time is it?
Starting point is 00:50:06 We're fine as long as you're fine. Okay, yeah. We'll just do the rapid fire round and then. and then call it a day. Okay. Okay. So biggest Instagram pet peeve. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:50:16 I mean, this is probably so stupid, but the fucking spam comments about the graphic artists or like the don't look at my story if you don't want to masturbate. What? You've never seen those? I am so out of the loop, you guys. I didn't know Justin Bieber's penis was on the internet. I don't know about like, stick with us, kid. Yeah. No kidding.
Starting point is 00:50:32 Wait, I need to tune into the pod. Okay. Tell me about this. It's just these bots. There's this new trend of these bots. And the second you post something, they automatically comment on the picture. Like, don't look at my story. if you don't want to masturbate and it's like these I don't know really know what they are
Starting point is 00:50:43 these like Russian yeah it's very it's like a porn site that they have comment on your story no they comment on your on your post saying I'll show you saying don't look at my story if you don't want to masturbate I've never seen that oh it if you look at can't believe you if you pay attention to your comments within like the first three seconds and then they end up getting deleted it no way yeah you it's incredibly okay I won't then said throw it. Yeah. That's funny. What the heck? That's funny that he responded. That's so weird. I've never seen that.
Starting point is 00:51:13 For now, my eyes are going to be peeled. Yeah, you'll see you now. Okay, that's a good Instagram pet peeve. Mine's honestly the private meme pages. Oh, yeah. I just want to laugh with everybody. That's why we never go private. Yeah, I get that. Who lied to deprive anybody from seeing a celebrity comment? You know what? You're right. You're right. I am. You are right. I like that. Stick it to the people. Favorite thing about social media. The ability to connect with people that you would never have been able to.
Starting point is 00:51:36 Mims. God, I love memes. God, I love memes. That's the best. What's your favorite meme account to follow? Grape juice boys. Oh, David Hughes also. No.
Starting point is 00:51:44 We are not going to be on this podcast and not plug David Hughes. David Hughes is, he is so fucking funny. Really? His memes are mostly tweets, which is why I originally said I said grape juice boys because of the memes. David Hughes just has like the funniest tweets that he puts on Instagram as memes that we'll, like, we die. We're the biggest fans.
Starting point is 00:52:02 This guy is like, let's say 35,000 followers. his humor is so specific nobody knows of him and julie and i we are literally he's the only person i'd be starstruck by i swear to god like him and biancy yeah him and biance i'm so proud of you for saying bianca thanks that's okay can you please remember these three accounts i need to follow at the end of this yes yes bisony frankle yeah bethany frankl and david and david hughes and david hues okay sounds good i wonder if david hughes knows how often we shout about he obviously doesn't is he a big d um no he just he like i don't even think he has that many followers i just don't think he's like aware of how off I I don't think he would be aware of the fact that like we
Starting point is 00:52:38 think he is the funniest person in the entire world he doesn't know who we are you don't know that he might I mean maybe starstruck yeah we'll see I've got a lot of people know who you are with that you wouldn't think maybe I don't know favorite thing to do um when you unplug um smoke weed I don't necessarily unplug for that though you definitely don't yeah definitely I'm always on my phone if that is that what you mean I just maybe like unwind yeah smoke weed yeah that also we're not productive stoner so like we can't smoke and then do shit i'm the same way use it as a reward system yeah oh i like after a long day what is your thoughts on edibles love oh my god our biggest fan okay yeah i i i have just recently started like in the edible oh i i love i'll warn you be careful
Starting point is 00:53:18 because i love edibles and now nothing else does it for me oh really well i don't do anything i just take like i i bite one half of a little gummy and i am good like if i smoke my pen or like if i smoke a joint like it doesn't it doesn't like get me high anymore like only edibles do yeah Edibles are dangerous. I love them. It's so easy, though. It's just one bite. I know.
Starting point is 00:53:36 Why would I pass a bomb around for 40 minutes or I could take one bite of something? Totally. And they're delicious. Oh, it's beyond the best. That's amazing. Welcome to the good life, my friend. Welcome to the good life. Biggest piece of advice for someone who wants to follow in your footsteps.
Starting point is 00:53:52 Oh, my God. What I say a lot, and I think this is really true, is like, we obviously are all about viral content and, you know, gaining followers and stuff. But something that we've always made sure of is we never sacrifice, like, our morals or our ethics in the sake of viral content. So we have this term that we always use called, like, a viral content funeral. So meaning, like, we'll see something. We're like, this would be amazing. But we know that it's like just not right. It's not a good look for the celebrity.
Starting point is 00:54:19 It's like kind of nasty. And we're like, let's just stay away and someone else will pick it up. And I think that, you know, maintaining, like, really staying grounded and maintaining the fact, like, yeah, this is an account. But people are still human beings. Yeah. That's nice that you guys do that. you really could you know trust me there's so much shit oh my god yeah yeah that's a good that's a piece of advice though thank you because i i just think anything in life it's good to say like to stay true
Starting point is 00:54:42 to yeah not only yourself but what you're doing and like be consistent with that totally mine would be like just go with your gut on certain posts like there are certain times where either it's like your gut saying like just like don't stay out of it don't do it or like if you think something is really funny there's going to be somebody else and maybe it won't do amazing with the likes but there's going to be other people who appreciate it just as much as you do, and that'll get them on board. So, yeah, definitely go with your gut when you're posting. Okay, that's good.
Starting point is 00:55:09 Favorite app other than Instagram? Mine's Twitter. Really? I was supposed to say insta-sides. What about that? It's literally just the app that we used to, like, crop the pictures, and it saves my life on a daily basis. Layout.
Starting point is 00:55:23 Layout. Layout's orgasmic. Fogs me up. Really? It's literally the app that we used to crop art, like, form out of pictures, but it just is the best thing. So user-friendly. It's like when you glide that.
Starting point is 00:55:33 Yeah. So user-firm. This is the shit that gets us off. I swear to God. It's like we see a five-second time stamp and we get it and we're like, yes. Like it's so turned on right now. That's amazing. Well, you guys are in the right biz.
Starting point is 00:55:46 Most common question you get asked. Who's your favorite celebrity to follow? Do you guys ever DM with celebrities, right? Yeah. Yeah. Mine's, do you get sick of your phone? I'm like, do you get sick of your phone? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:56 No. Never. Never. Never. Never sick of my phone. I miss it when I put it down. It's so bad. I was at the dentist the other day.
Starting point is 00:56:04 I was like, okay, let's hurry this off. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I'm on my phone at the dentist. Yeah. Oh, yes. That's great when you can be. Yeah. Pilates.
Starting point is 00:56:11 My Pilates is when I don't. Oh, yeah. It's like one hour or two hours a week. Yeah, it's tough. We are pathetic. Beyond. Most embarrassing celebrity encounter, like even if it's in person or on Instagram or what? I don't think we've really had.
Starting point is 00:56:28 I mean, in retrospect, it's embarrassing, but it happens. years ago before any of this happened was, and I told him when he came on the podcast, do you follow Gary Gennetti? Mm-mm. Gary Gennedy is to see another one. Well, he's the one that does the Prince George memes. Like the, you have to follow.
Starting point is 00:56:42 He's really funny. Okay. He was the producer of Will and Grace and he, um, it's like a writer. He's married to Brad Groskey, the stylist. Anyway, years ago, I was in Sag Harbor and he was with Andy Cohen and Brad Greske. I mean, and I stopped them and asked him to take a picture of me with Andy and Brad. Like, I had no idea who he was.
Starting point is 00:56:57 This is years ago. I was like 15. And when he came on the podcast, I was like, this one time in Sack Harbor. However, I asked you to take the picture, and I'm so sorry. I was like, I'm a huge fan of yours. I just didn't remember that. He didn't remember. He's like, it's okay.
Starting point is 00:57:08 It was funny. That's amazing. Who's been your favorite guest you've had on your podcast? They've all been incredible, but I think probably the most like, oh, my God, moment was Katie Kirk. Yeah. Oh, wow. Yeah, that was special.
Starting point is 00:57:18 Wow. Really special. That's cool. It went for two hours. It was so deep. It was the first time I ever publicly talked about my mom dying. It just, I felt like it legitimized us in a different way. Right.
Starting point is 00:57:28 Because having someone who has such, like, a profound, journalistic history coming on and feeling like we were worthy of her time yeah you know what i mean no that's incredible it was really cool wow yeah that was amazing you guys are just killing it thank you yeah so are thanks uh you know i've been nominated for you weren't you just nominated yes it's amazing congratulations i know i'm just like i don't even care if i wouldn't or not me i do but i'm like i can't believe i've been nominated because i remember last year i saw some podcasts that were nominated i'm like well i was not yeah and here you are and here i am it's amazing.
