Off The Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe - Grape Therapy: Fantasy Suites with Jason Tartick

Episode Date: March 11, 2021

Kaitlyn is joined by her forever-fantasy-suite-date, Mr. Jason Tartick, to recap this week’s episode of The Bachelor. But first, they’re catching up on what they’ve been up to since the...ir last recording together (roleplay, anyone?) and answering questions from the vinos including behind the scenes deets of the overnight dates and a hard hitting 'Would You Rather.' They dive into the three dates we saw on our screens this week and their biggest takeaways from each. For Michelle’s date, it’s the importance of staying in love. For Rachael’s date, it may be the sneaky line from the ceramics instructor that you might’ve missed but are going to want to hear. They wrap up with a game of “What Does J Say” where Jason ranks statements and questions from KB on a scale of 1-10. Enjoy, vinos! Starting point is 00:01:31 have a line it's kind of chilly outside you don't have a lime it's not chilly outside it's nice you're in a robe and we thought about lighting a fire maybe yeah yeah it's not a night for corona why do i have a corona i don't know maybe i'm a manifesting being on a beach oh maybe that's a good i'm a big light beer guy though you were just saying earlier the loser of beer drinkers i hate IPAs. That doesn't make you a loser. No, like beer drinkers, like beer snubs would be like, oh my God, you're going to come to a brewery and get a pilsner.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Yeah, but that's like going to a winery and getting... Like putting ice in your red wine. Yeah. Yeah. Something like that, but I do it. No judgment here, especially on this podcast. Oh, that's why I love this podcast. Just get put in the corners.
Starting point is 00:02:11 Don't know what's coming. Feel like I got like four upper cuts. Then every now and then, I sneak out and I'm good. But here we go. Well, happy Thursday. I don't know why. getting nervous coming on your podcast, but I just don't know, like you and your team, you got all these games and shit. It's the unexpected. Expect the unexpected. That's my line. Expect the unexpected, but
Starting point is 00:02:29 you're right. No, that's big brother's line. That's been a big brother line for years and years and years. Expect the unexpected. Actually, it's probably a, it's probably a line that goes way back but my dad as a kid. Like when we were young, he always said it. And now I always say that. I do like that line. So we're going to talk a little bachelor, but we'll also play obviously a game. Just And everybody wants to know, have we done role playing since our last podcast? Who wants to know that? Everyone. So let them know.
Starting point is 00:02:56 Actually, I haven't seen one comment. I saw a lot of comments of people being upset with me. And I do want to genuinely apologize because it's a fair call out. Some people were like, it was wrong of me to question people's confidence in their relationship from role playing. It actually could go the other way and say a lot about their confidence. So I apologize. Rollplay away, my friend.
Starting point is 00:03:18 And I think you misinterpreted to like role play. I didn't get what role playing was. But lucky us, we're going to have a sex expert on the podcast to talk all about role playing. And it's going to get me. So you're pro, you're fully pro role play. Pro role play for sure. That's the beauty of this podcast. You have discussion.
Starting point is 00:03:37 You break it down. You get feedback. You learn more. And here we are. That's the beauty of opinions and listening and understanding and doing research and saying, hey, you know what? Good for you. Not for me. Maybe later, though. Maybe once I learned a little more. Educate. Yeah. Get hammered. What a podcast. Tell you what, you guys do it all. Confess. That's what it's all about? Wow. Anyways, what have we been up to? We went on a little road trip. We're having a little couples getaway. Yeah. It's nice. We had a little spa day today, a little hot tub. It's very different getting a massage with your mask on. But nonetheless, I'm not going to complain because we got a massage. Yeah. It was actually a crazy work day. And then from that, we had a nice little relaxing.
Starting point is 00:04:17 Bless, and here we are. That's the beautiful, beautiful thing. It's a beautiful thing. So I thought it would be fun to start this Thursday off by answering some questions from the Vinoes that I got a lot through Instagram and community about fantasy suites and the show in general. So let's do it. Let's do it. You just made a joke on your Instagram that you didn't make it to the fantasy suite. But let's all, we know people who have people.
Starting point is 00:04:40 We know what goes on from these questions is what I'm saying. Do you love when I say you didn't make it to fantasy suite? You said it. You said it, not me. I think less about that. I think, yeah, yeah, yeah. There, my, let's just keep going. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:04:54 I'm not going to do Fantasy Suite episode of you anymore. Oh, you're the one I want to take to the Fantasy Suite. Yeah, well, that's cute. You're your Fantasy Suite material for life. Are we role playing? Mm, you want to go to the Fantasy Suite? Okay, keep going. Can I get the bad for it?
Starting point is 00:05:09 You're one of my contestants? Okay. A lot of people ask this one. Cassandra asked how many days slash hours are in between each person's Fantasy Suite. It felt like Matt picked up, spend the night, dropped off, rinse, repeat in a matter of seconds. It obviously looks like that due to filming. But I think there is a day between each one, I think. I think so too. I think when we were there, if I remember right, we were there because you know when your flight. The thing is is when you get there, you know when I believe your flight is and when you're leaving. So you can do the math in your head as to where you were. I remember I was the first date. I remember. I was the first date. I Remember, I was the first date because we landed the next day was the date. The other thing is just because my date was first, technically, logistically, when I landed versus being the next day, doesn't mean that my date was showcased first.
Starting point is 00:06:04 So the order in which you see it also might not be the order. And what would you want be first, middle, or last? It's the easiest question ever, yes. I don't know. I'd want to leave them with something to remember. Oh, my gosh. Just kidding. Jesus.
Starting point is 00:06:22 No, yeah, first. Well, you just said first. I hate fantasy sweet. Okay, okay, okay. We'll speak of it hypothetically. Okay. A lot of people had questions and it is fantasy sweet episode. Yeah, fire away.
Starting point is 00:06:33 I mean, let's do it. Julia asked, Julia asked, how long do you have before cameras come back in the AM? They just show up out of nowhere. You don't really know what time they're going to show up. You could be sleeping. Like, they just, you know what? Sometimes they show up. earlier sometimes later in between dates though so i obviously don't know the answer to that one but
Starting point is 00:06:52 in between dates uh it's it's it's like three four hours could be even longer yeah but i mean for when the cameras show up no i know yeah yeah got that molly asked do you think rachel should have been less vocal with brea and michel about how much she was struggling with fantasy sweets i don't think so you can't hide your emotions it sucks he's taking these girls overnight it's normal i thought it was abnormal for how Michelle was about him taking the other girls. I thought it was normal for Rachel to have emotions and vocalize it. I don't think she was being super rude about it. I think she was just like, this sucks. This is hard as far as I'm concerned. Yeah. Or Michelle just was like, listen, which I respect the hell up. I get the hell what I'm doing. Like, we're in this,
Starting point is 00:07:34 whatever. But it does seem like every season. If you look back, it's like it's a pressure cooker. It's time, obviously, where, you know, things completely unfold. I feel like we didn't see it in Tasha's season as much. Because the guys, got along so well why the the one that's like ringing in my head is hannah b um oh maybe that wasn't fantasy sweets was it with luke it was going into remember hannah b like i luke and he was like saying if you had any type of romantic chemistry with anyone i were done and she's like who the hell do you think you are get out of here well i agree with this is where the people you know people crack yeah also when you're watching it if you feel like you know there's a front runner you got thrown a curveball
Starting point is 00:08:15 Fair. This was a good question somebody asked, was Jessica said, are the leads allowed to say, I love you too when one of the girls confessed their love? I mean, we saw a little perfect Ben Higgins do this, but it is suggested that you don't. So that when you finally have that moment with them at the end when you're proposing, you can finally say it back and it just means that much more. But again, if you can't hold it back and you say it, they either, A, might not air it or be like, wow, that's. Or do you think, do you think it's? season by season where production might say sell my your feeling like for ben season do you think maybe that was a straight like hey like yeah ben's gonna be the first person ever to say i love you to both you think i'm just i'm thinking outside the box here i mean a lot of them has have said i'm falling in love with you yeah but for you specifically they told you not to i think as a cast member going on the show you know when you're getting ready to go on the show and you watch it back for me at least it was like an assumption that the lead would never say that back like right you would never yeah you have to yes but i do remember when ben said it to jojo yeah she
Starting point is 00:09:25 like freaked out she was like wait what like yeah i think didn't she say you could say that yeah because i think it is a known thing on that show that the leads don't usually say it back and that they're not supposed to but i mean if you can't hold it back you can't hold it back this is a really good one mary says i know you didn't meet jason on your season but if you guys could have a fantasy suite, what would the day slash night be? Oh, that's a really good question. Why don't you answer it? Well, I know.
Starting point is 00:09:51 I'm trying to think. I'm just. No, so producers, suppose I'm on your season. Producers like, okay, here we go. Well, where are we? What city are we in? No, it's you're, I don't know, that's a good question. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:02 We are in any city in the world. We are in New York. Okay. We're in New York City. And we would get to do a Broadway play together in the day. both have a role in like one of our favorite Broadway shows and then at night we would go carbone we would go to carbone god that's a good restaurant we would go to carbone eat so much pasta pasta pasta martini's a pasta steak and then and then i would and then i would fly us somewhere
Starting point is 00:10:36 else to just go camping under the stars. Wait, wait, what? Why are you going? We're in the city. We're in the best place of the world. You want to go camping? Yeah, we spend the day there and I want to go camping. I love camping. A little trailer out in the middle nowhere with the stars, maybe Iceland, some northern lights. I'm so confused. Me too. I would say go right to the karaoke bar. Sing our hearts out and then go have a night. We've done that. Huh? Sounds great. Let's make our own fantasy sweets. Should we do it tonight? We kind of are. Okay. Kathy asked. the question that we all want the answers to you i'm so curious about this why the heck wasn't the
Starting point is 00:11:10 morning after aired after rachel and matt's fantasy suite i don't know the answer to that all the girls they had did they just run out of time in the episode and it was like hmm i don't know i don't know either they're no they never run out of time everything is done right thoughtfully because who do you think he ends up with i don't know who do you think come on who do you think he ends up with i don't i don't you have to make a choice right to go Rachel this is literally having no idea but I would think that the way they made Rachel like kind of freak out and they didn't show the after morning makes me think that they're trying to like hide maybe how far they really are along yeah maybe to make it entertaining at the end I don't know I thought that was so bizarre though for them to not show that but then they showed at the rose ceremony they were doing their interviews and stuff and Rachel was very confident about how her fantasy suite date went. I feel like every, again, so I'm like a good fact check me in.
Starting point is 00:12:12 I'm way the hell up. I feel like every fantasy suite, there's always someone that like goes home. So never, when was last time they show like three guys the morning after? And then. Didn't that happen rotation? No. Remember the one guy fired himself. Brendan.
Starting point is 00:12:29 Oh, right. You're right. It has been a, it has been a minute. Yeah. Oh, that's interesting. Okay. Beth asks, have you found it difficult to watch? the end of the season in light of all the issues happening off screen.
Starting point is 00:12:39 It's not that I find it difficult to watch. It's that I find it, it's like upsetting that his historical season has to be overshadowed by, you know, people, other people's mistakes because it is such a good season. But it's just more, it's not difficult to watch. I say it's just more like, I wish we could just focus on his love story. Yeah, exactly, exactly. I mean, this was supposed to be such an amazing season, a historical one. one. And there's been so much distraction that needs so much attention. But to this question,
Starting point is 00:13:13 it has taken away from what this season maybe could have been. Yeah. While it's still been a great season, don't you agree? Yeah, I totally agree. Totally agree. Casey asked thoughts on the rumor that Heather and Matt are dating. I didn't know that was a rumor. It's a rumor. There's a whole what's the conspiracy behind me? I saw TikTok. Apparently they both had the same location in their Instagram stories, but my theory is he's friends with Hannah. He's probably visiting like Hannah and maybe him and Heather are friends and they're hanging out. But I don't, I don't know. That'd be cool too, though. So if that's the case, then do you think that he ended with Rachel, broke up with Rachel, and now might be with Heather? What? I know. I just can't wait to find out.
Starting point is 00:13:52 And they didn't show Heather at all on the woman tell all. I know. So interesting. Interesting. And now Hannah's got her boyfriend. Maybe he's doing a little double date action. I noticed that Matt and Tyler haven't really been together at all. Oh, my God. Is there trouble in Paradise? Oh, with Matt and Tyler? Oh, no. I think Matt's just probably preoccupied.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Maybe, huh? Well, we'll find out answers too. A lot of questions. But last and definitely not least, Lisa asks, would you rather pee out a penny or poop out a hammer? Pee out a penny. Really? You're talking a full-on hammer?
Starting point is 00:14:28 You want to poop out a hammer? I would rather pee a penny. yeah i mean being a penny would be torture but it would be more than torture you would probably die because if you think about a hammer i just think the backside of a hammer have to screw things up who comes up with these pre-production notes you gotta be shit was this leased or was this your team no this was lisa it seems like a your team thing now back to off the vine grape therapy okay anyways let's just do a
Starting point is 00:15:01 quick recap and get to our questions from listeners, not about Bachelor, and play a little game. So obviously Matt feels conflicted because in his past relationships, he's had trouble going deep, having those tough conversations, especially because of his family. He says there is a conversation he needs to have in order to move forward with the women and that is with his dad. So, you know, we saw this conversation with his dad and then we saw Matt tweet that we didn't see the context and that often there are these stereotypes and it gets dangerous from the media's perspective and from people watching at home what they portray when it has to do with race, specifically a black father. And I saw Rachel tweet something about it. I saw Matt tweet something about it.
Starting point is 00:15:45 It just makes me think because I wouldn't have thought that until they had pointed it out. And that's obviously the ignorance showing on my part. But do you think the bachelor knew what they were doing there? Or is that just something that they need to be like, wow, that is definitely something we need to be more aware of and make a change moving forward? Or do you think they're like, that's his story and we're sticking to it? Yeah, it's an interesting discussion. I think in general, this, the whole situation here with this conversation between Matt and his father, Mani, is a necessary, like, deep discussion to have. Like, I think people that, like, you know, one of the things that Rachel said was, when do we know at this point, like, about Matt? We know about Matt's dad.
Starting point is 00:16:26 Like, that's the depth of what we know. And what she was saying is, if you know anything about stereotypes that are assigned to particular races, here the black race, you know the absentee father is a stereotype. And then we also saw Matt's tweet. And then Matt posted an unbelievable article. Yeah, Jason, I read that. A line with it. We read it before this.
Starting point is 00:16:45 But to Rachel's point and to Matt's tweet, I think it's crystal clear that Matt has said, and he did say in an interview that this lacked context. Right. Right? Right? Yeah, because it's clear that he needs to have this conversation with his dad to move forward, but that is not enough context for us to really know what exactly happened, you know, compared to how they portrayed it. Yeah. And I think, you know, the way Rachel Lindsay explained it and gave the foundation to it was well, so well said. So well said. But in addition to the point she made up and also doing it in educational format, the other thing she said, which really resists. is, you know, if this is something, if this was something that Matt needed to have,
Starting point is 00:17:32 if this is a conversation he needed to have to put himself in the position, given the foundation of all the things that she had discussed, do it off camera. Do it off camera. Do it privately. Right. That was my first thought. You know, that's, there's not a lot that is private. Yeah. I want to say to me, after seeing everything and learning more and some takeaways from the conversation that I had is right when when Matt's father, Manny, said, I'm sorry, I hurt you, son. I saw an, you know, it was just as a learning perspective. I saw an okay from Matt and like almost a weight lifted off his shoulder, right? Looking for the ownership. And the other thing, some things that Matt said that resonated with me is, you know, there's a lot of life for both
Starting point is 00:18:22 of us to live. And he said, like, I forgive you. I'm not holding onto that. grudge, I want us to move forward. But then also said, which is very powerful, one conversation isn't going to change the way someone thinks or feels about something. It's just going to continue to be a conversation, but it was a great starting point. And that's how I feel towards the franchise itself. It's not just going to take one historical season to change, you know, people's perceptive. It's going to take a lot of conversations and more action to make an impact. Yep. Absolutely. Yeah. Well, I hope that really helped Matt. And I hope that Matt tweeting that and tweeting an article about the danger of how the media can portray, you know, how race comes into play. I hope people
Starting point is 00:19:15 can read that article and maybe look at it differently because I did after reading it. Yeah. After reading reach to Lindsay's tweets and seeing Matt's article and how we didn't have context. I was like, wow, that's really important to know. Contacts in general is something that I feel like this show struggles with. Yeah. People if, okay, let's just strictly talk about entertainment in general. The whole idea of entertainment, people want to see behind the scenes. We want to see the vulnerability, the transparency. Like I, the more context you give up, us, the better we, we can, I, understand the situation, make an opinion on the situation. But there's no context.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Yeah, I think that's what people struggle with a lot watching the show, the lack of context, which can be really important in certain situations. I wish, part of me also wishes the show wasn't, I don't think it's possible. It wasn't pre-taped. It was live. Oh, my. That would be wild. That would be cool.
Starting point is 00:20:17 I would like to see some of, okay, Bachelor. cast and announce things come up let's address it why do we have to sit here like i don't or at least partially live like how they do big brother yeah not that they can have 24 like this whole okay you got to go into hiding for four months right until you can address outrageously controversial issues that need to be discussed immediately i don't i know i don't logistically i don't know if it's possible right but more contacts i think and and openness to the audience i think like honesty transparency I agree.
Starting point is 00:20:52 I think the show would do so well if it gave a little more transparency, context, and a little BTS look for the viewers to know more about what's going on and why. Yeah. And then when you hear Matt say things like it lacked context. Like he's watching it back, knowing everything that happened soup to nuts. I mean, that's like so high opening. Right. I agree.
Starting point is 00:21:15 So if anybody is listening, I would highly recommend reading. He tweeted the article. and I can put it in my Instagram story off the vine as well. So Michelle gets the first date. I feel like she definitely deserves a spa day. But what the hell is a Pennsylvania Dutch spa day? They like had a milk bath.
Starting point is 00:21:33 I have no idea. I don't know. It was so important. But anyways, what I really took away. Pennsylvania Dutch spa day. Up in Democolon. The conversation I really took away from it was they talk about the importance of not just
Starting point is 00:21:44 falling in love, but staying in love too, which has always been an insecurity and fear of mind possibly stemming from divorce, I'm sure. But her parents have been married for 30 plus years. Your parents have been married for 30 plus years. Like, how do you believe in staying in love? What did you see?
Starting point is 00:22:03 What is, what do I think that I think? Like, how did your parents stay in love, not just fall in love, be in love? How did they stay in love for all these years? If I had to probably attribute it from watching from a distance, a ton of mutual respect. I think open conversation and communication. But I think every relationship doesn't matter who you are goes through tough times and in situations of doubt and considering, you know, leaving. And I'm sure every relationship has those times.
Starting point is 00:22:36 But I think, I don't have the mutual respect and communication, I guess. I don't know. What would you say? Well, I don't know because that's always my fear. And I feel like I've sabotaged in the past. because I'm so scared of falling out of love. But I think, of course, it's the communication and the honesty and the respect. But I'm like, she says that her parents get the giggles together, which I love.
Starting point is 00:23:00 But I'm like, I don't know. Yeah, I think the one thing, I mean, one of the things I said, I remember to Becca when I first met her was about my parents that they've been together over 30 years. And the one takeaway I have from watching the relationship is they are best friends. Yeah. I can't imagine those two, no matter what, like the terrible days and the, the great days, the mutual respect is so significant and that they're just best friends. I don't know they would, they wouldn't know what to do without being with each other. Yeah, they're best friends for a day. Sweet.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Oh. That's really sweet. That's really cute. Michelle's parents are freaking awesome too. Oh, I loved them so much. That's such a good hometown. Interesting fact to Matt said he felt the most. comfortable with Michelle's family out of all of them.
Starting point is 00:23:48 What do you think about this whole twist? What twist? Spoiler alert. My mom sent me this twist today that it has been, it's out there somewhere in some level. I don't know if it's reality. Steve, I don't know who it is. But it's out there in some level that they're going to film The Bachelorette. They're going to film Paradise and then they're going to film The Bachelorette.
Starting point is 00:24:07 The rumor is that they're doing this like weird twist. Three in a row or something? That's what, I mean, I could literally go to my. mom's little photo. That's so interesting. My mom loves this shit, by the way. You know what's so interesting is that I talk to producers all the time and they don't tell me shit.
Starting point is 00:24:25 No, that's the best part too. My mom expects me. She's like, I have no idea. Like, I don't know. I don't know. Do you want to know why Apple's got crushed last week? Let's talk about that. I have no idea.
Starting point is 00:24:35 I know. I didn't even know that was a rumor until today. Yeah, but as you know with all this stuff, rumors are rumors. Like, how many times has reality Steve gone back and forth? with like, oh, it's going to be this person, it's going to be this person. So, like, I think it's not because it's a rumor. It's probably because production changes things in the last second. So who knows.
Starting point is 00:24:53 But let's just for the sake of conversation, let's say the rumor could be true. Yeah. That there's a Bachelorette, Paradise, Bachelorette. What do you think? I don't know. I love it. Why? What do you think about?
Starting point is 00:25:05 This is so much content to podcast about. Yeah, so much content. It's going to be dudes galore. That's 60 dudes, 60 more dudes in the franchise right there. Whoa. There's going to be dudes. everywhere. Well, that's...
Starting point is 00:25:16 Imagine paradise. Oh, paradise. It would be the ones after. Oh, you know what? Think about the next bachelor. Think about the car.
Starting point is 00:25:23 They got how many seasons do they have to pick for the next bachelor? Oh, man. The possibilities are endless. Especially because Matt wasn't even on the season. Yeah. Wow. So you got to have like all these seasons.
Starting point is 00:25:35 So many dicks. Who would you pick right now as the next bachelor? As the next bachelor? Next part. So I'm talking about without knowing the next six. dudes coming into the franchise. Oh my God. I don't know. I mean, I would obviously love to see Tyler as the bachelor. Yeah, I know. I think so too. I think he'd be my topic. Yeah, for sure. But yeah, I just really think, Michelle, Ivan would be great. I fell in love with Ivan. Ivan's the man.
Starting point is 00:26:00 When he came on the podcast with us. I, no, sorry, I fell in love with him on the show. Yeah. But talking to him and getting a chance to really like, just get to know him better. I was like, what a solid dude. Yeah. We sent him wine. Ivan, Tyler, Tyler C. there's definitely more I'm just blanking on who I know but I really do believe in Michelle and Matt's genuine connection like I feel like from the starting point to that one on one date that was like the most of you and I were like in like on a Monday just like a little couple tears right down to the fantasy suit date unbelievable I know I want to meet I want to like hang out with Michelle yeah me too she seemed like she beat awesome when she again
Starting point is 00:26:39 I said it on your last five when she got down and started doing the pushups after that one really serious pretty hilarious she is funny i also really want to get to know brie better we're trying to get her on the podcast just because she's that's a good point we don't even brought her up yeah because i feel like her screen time and got like totally screwed and she's just you know she's oh she's just absolutely stunning yeah every time every time i watch every time you say they're like i'm like what yeah she's so stunning and i don't know i just i do see their connection being a tiny bit behind Michelle and Rachel's.
Starting point is 00:27:14 I agree with that. But not by far. Like, they have really great sexual chemistry. It's so hard to say that, knowing that she was sent home because I'm like, he's with somebody else and you don't want to hear that other people. It's the show, though. That's the show. And do you think he's with someone else?
Starting point is 00:27:30 I don't know. What do you think? I know, but I'm asking what you think. I honestly have this gut feeling he's not with anyone. I have the same feeling. Really? Mm-hmm. Do you have a reason why?
Starting point is 00:27:41 Because I really don't. I don't. I don't have a reason why. I don't either. I don't know. But I was sad to see Briego. Obviously, we will see her again because she is so lovely. And they had a really great conversation. I feel like they both, I don't know, she seemed really ready for an engagement. She was really in love with him. But it's everything she wanted and a little more in her words. But I don't know. I just did feel like he was a little more ahead with the other girls. Anyways, Rachel's day. She shows up being very discouraged because she's had to see the other two girls come home all happy after their overnight suite. So she's obviously in her head. And they make ceramics with an instructor, a little pottery. And I was dying because they were doing the pottery.
Starting point is 00:28:32 And as they were like, as Rachel was speaking in the background, you know when they do interviews, but you can see them doing the pottery, but you can hear Rachel talking as if she's in an interview. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You could hear the instructor say, now put your finger in the hole as she was talking about her fantasy sweet date. And I'm like, did I was the only one that caught that? Oh, my God. It's incredible. It was so, you just knew, you know it was like, they're like, well, let's throw that in there. You can see like the editor in the background like this, you know, he's just like giggling, like hitting the timing to the nil a second like, boop, replay, replay.
Starting point is 00:29:04 Got it. So funny. Now you put your finger in the hole. And she's like, and you know, tonight's a very important night for fantasy sweets. And I was like, you know, maybe. I'm just immature. But anyways. Do you think it's a lot?
Starting point is 00:29:14 My brain's crazy. Do you think it's a lot, though, over time I'm being single to actually like never be in love and then get engaged? Yeah, that's wild. But I mean, also, I think about Cleo and her boyfriend. Okay. He had never had a girlfriend before. He's dated or whatever, but never had a serious girlfriend because he didn't want to settle
Starting point is 00:29:34 down until he knew that person was the one. Wow. So, I mean, maybe this. Yeah, because his first serious girlfriend and yeah. Yeah. And so maybe for Matt, he was doing the same kind of thing and was like, had all of these personal things to work through and grow and learn about himself. And then he was ready to fall in love. I think it's beautiful.
Starting point is 00:29:54 All right. I hope he is in love. My gut tells me he's alone, but I still think this was a really great journey from it. This is Austin Vine grape therapy. All right. So you are, I am not a fantasy player. a fantasy player for our bachelor who's in your finale and who wins who was i should say what do you mean you had to do the bracket you did a bracket didn't you oh yeah who was in your top two and who
Starting point is 00:30:22 won i haven't picked the winner yet oh do you go each week yeah ah but michelle has always been up there for me so you think i just see the most genuine connection between those two if just feel like i feel it through the screen okay anyways who do you ship with brie from Bachelor World it has to be someone good I really like her I'm so bad at thinking of it I don't know help me out
Starting point is 00:30:50 Ivan or Tyler I know that's why I'm picking up like why am I saw I'm going through maybe Brendan oh did I just call a little future engagement wait if that happens I'll be so happy Paradise is gonna I can
Starting point is 00:31:05 it's gonna be you got to bring me back for one Paradise session oh yeah of course In the weeds. I like bringing you back on the pot. It's going to be crazy. What do you always say? It's going to be crazy, baby.
Starting point is 00:31:18 No, you say something about a pandemon. It's going to be phandemonium. It's going to be pandemonium. Okay. You know what? We're playing a game called What Does Jay Say? No. No, it's fine.
Starting point is 00:31:33 It's really, you know what? Let me finish my beer. The name doesn't actually really make sense, but it rhymes. So I'm going to ask you to rate some statements. questions from the season on a scale of one to 10. I need to like somehow backdoor these pre-production notes before I come on this. I can just send them to you before. Caitlin has her computer up in front of me and she's like reading and I could see like
Starting point is 00:31:49 her eyes light up as she reading and I'm like, oh shit, I'm out of here. No, this actually isn't bad. You'll see what I mean. Okay. So on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most extreme, you have to rate it. Okay. Your thoughts on Matt's beard that made its appearance on the women tell all. I don't think it's extreme.
Starting point is 00:32:07 I think it's sick. I like it. Yeah. I think it's awesome. Awesome. Okay. I, when I podcast with him, I loved the beard. I was like, yes, keep this.
Starting point is 00:32:15 It was for, I think it's for the Knicks to win. But the what? The Knicks, the New York Knicks. That's why he did it? Yeah, that's what you told me. Is it like a, okay. Matt's. And the Knicks have always struggled.
Starting point is 00:32:28 No, I know. That's why he's probably going to keep the beard for a while. Interesting. Okay. Matt's fashion in general this season, one to ten. 7.8. What? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:39 Oh, he's got this. The sickest style. Really? Yes. So many. Yes. I think 10. I think 10.
Starting point is 00:32:46 Really? Yeah. Matt's ability to respond to women saying, I love you, which is often him saying, thank you for sharing. That ability. What do you give it? The ability. I think he is the like the breakup letdown master.
Starting point is 00:33:00 I've actually never seen anyone on the show, break up with someone or give someone bad news better than Matt. It's like the softest letdown I've ever seen in my life. Yeah. So I'd give him that. Okay. Your thoughts on the dates that the producers put together the season at Nemecl. 8.5 given the circumstances. Yeah, I agree.
Starting point is 00:33:19 The dates were, I think the dates were way better at Nemecl and then the other place, the last one, when they're in the bubble. Okay. And last one, your excitement for the upcoming season of Paradise. 11 out of 10. I just have so many questions. I think, like, back to, you know, how they do like in this season, there's like the OGs and the new Gs. I think like what kind of oh geez are they going to be like are we going to see maybe like Tia in the mix we can see Blake in the mix like like who who from like older seasons even older
Starting point is 00:33:48 older seasons from what I guess they always bring back to all the new people how does that go and then what I also love to see is like everyone knows each other for sure like on social media so then to actually see them come together and see like who actually allies with who and who like hates each other it's going to be remember when oh leo in grocery store Joe got in the fight like you just shit you just don't see coming that's so true it's going to be fire i think it's going to be absolutely freaking fire and i can't wait for it all right now i've got some fun q and a's from just instagram because you know it's fun to to recap the bachelor but it's also fun to just answer a couple quick questions let's do it yeah come on now i need a sip of wine i haven't
Starting point is 00:34:30 had a sip in a minute let's go but about about good good good okay brie my best friend says Seb, her son, my sweet little nephew. Seb says true or false. I love you and you're so nice. True. Angel boy, I love you. No, Sethy. But, okay, Elizabeth says, what's y'all's favorite TV show to watch together?
Starting point is 00:34:56 I love y'all so much. We love y'all too. We love y'all too. And now I'm starting to say y'all all the time. I love saying y'all. I am, like, I can't tell you how much I am into your honor. I just want to keep watching it and keep watching it. We just finished it. We're right now watching. I'm a big documentary guy. So I love like the octopus. What are you laughing at?
Starting point is 00:35:17 Nothing going. Oh my God. I was with a bunch of I was with some Rochesterians and Buffaloians not too long ago. And it was so refreshing to hear them say documentary. I'm like yes. I'm back. Okay. The octopus teacher. Probably the B. I'll never eat Calamardi. Best shot film like ever. And then I just watched one. Oh my God. It's crazy. It's crazy. It's. on it's something along the lines of the Mormon documentary it's this guy who like created all these wild artificial documents
Starting point is 00:35:46 or like found them but it talks about all the religions different than what it is but then he sells them and is it fraudulent is it not so like three four episodes
Starting point is 00:35:55 it's great something about more if you go to Netflix but Mormon it's we also have been watching Little Fires everywhere really good
Starting point is 00:36:02 really good have you been watching too much TV I mean probably you We're not into it at first. And now it's incredible. I love her.
Starting point is 00:36:11 And there's so many. So she sucks in the show. What do you mean? She sucks. Oh, her character. Yeah. She's just doing the best she can. Oh, she sucks.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Oh, my God. Don't say that. She loves her kids so much. And she's trying to help everybody. And she's just trying to be perfect. And I just, I don't, I'm not a fan of her character. Well, her husband sucks too. Her husband, her husband's a boner.
Starting point is 00:36:30 Yeah, he's a boner. He just doesn't do anything. Like, his daughter is, like, opening up about issues. And he's like, yeah. He just sucks. They suck. Okay. Well, that's rude.
Starting point is 00:36:40 Do you really like those characters? I just see them. She like makes me angry. Okay, but anyway, the show is really good. It's really good. It is really good. Someone asked, where did you get your sweatshirt that has Pino and Ramen? I'm like, which one?
Starting point is 00:36:55 I'm like 30 sweatshirts with them on. It's literally my wardrobe. Okay. Oh, Holly says, do you see yourselves living in Nashville long term? Would Jason ever move to Canada? move to Canada full time I think we go back and forth with Nashville a lot long term or not but what we're doing is I think for sure like we're we're we're have such a good foundation there and really meeting good people right yeah like but I don't
Starting point is 00:37:20 know what do you think um yeah I don't know if I want to raise kids here but yeah but I always will want a place in Canada in the summer so that's what I see happening for us a little summer home in Canada Canada what why look at it's just I don't know if I mean being in the way it's just not so it's i agree but the feasibility of it now these days like with the dogs and i don't care i will drive for 38 hours straight to go to canada with the dogs and you and spend summer in my home country oh oh yeah i love canada huge fan of the people and the places i want to go to banff let's go ski in bam yes bam one day one okay melbell 713 says do you guys ever argue over chores like who does what is the other one messier than the other
Starting point is 00:38:04 Yes, Caitlin is much messier than I am. Oh my gosh. Hang on, Kate. Like, seriously, you can admit this. You go up to your office and I clean every day. You do a great job. I'm not saying you're messy. I'm not seeing you're messy.
Starting point is 00:38:17 You are clean. You're probably cleaner than me, but I'm not messy. I think the beautiful thing is that where you can take ownership of things, like, you should come to the table. Be like, Jason, cleaner and more organized than I am. Case, you're definitely cleaner and more organized. I'm not saying you're not. Oh, great.
Starting point is 00:38:31 Perfect. I'm just saying I'm not messy and unorganized. And it's not, yeah, I mean, unorganized. Yeah. I mean, I think, listen, we all have our strengths. Organization and being clean is not one of years. You know what I will give you that? Organization, yes, I definitely suck at organization. I am so unorganized. Clean. I love clean. I just am not on top of it every day. But I do always make sure the house is clean. Yeah. Well, this is what you do. You go on the, this is the Caitlin. It's the wave. Like for like two weeks, it'll be just like, I'll look at the house to be like, hey, what happened? And then it's like, whole. Holy shit. Tasmanian devil comes in. It's like picture perfectly. And I'm like, what happened? Yes, but the bedroom I will get messy.
Starting point is 00:39:13 The kitchen I will always make sure it's clean. We both do a really great job at keeping the kitchen clean. We both are very tag team with the dishwasher with the tours. I probably sweep and no, you vacuum a lot, actually. I think to answer the question, though, tell me if you agree with this. We don't have like a set regimen like you do this. I do that. You take care of outside.
Starting point is 00:39:35 I take care of inside. I take care outside. You take care inside. We don't have that. We just have like an ongoing. Okay, I'll do this. You do that. The only set thing we really have is that you get up in the morning with the dogs.
Starting point is 00:39:45 Yeah. And then you go up to the office and I take care of the dogs. And then you come back down from the office and we both take care of the dogs. That's like the set thing. But apparently we do argue over it because I'm not messy. Oh, boy. I'm a little messy. Come on.
Starting point is 00:40:01 Okay. Ray Webb says what Bachelor has the biggest dick energy? You don't like that question? The biggest Dick Energy Bachelor is the easiest decision ever and it is Bob Gimmie. Yeah. Okay, last question. Do you poop with the door open? Yes.
Starting point is 00:40:24 Yeah, you do. No, no, no, do I? No, no. Al underscore the love says, why are you so judgmental about roleplay? I have a question for you. When we first started dating, like, did you have like, did you like secretly poop? Of course I did. How did that work?
Starting point is 00:40:42 Well, you, I would come to Seattle and you had a job. You would like wait until I would leave. Yeah. Or if I did it. Oh, you know what my one trick was? I would say I was having a body shower. You'd like, oh, we just need a really quick body shower. And I'd run the shower, poop.
Starting point is 00:40:56 and then put the fan on and then I would just remember that one time I got the pink guy sorry yeah we're not talking about again anyways that's our episode for today oh boy I'm never coming back on come on you enjoy it yeah this is I love doing this with you because I feel like we're both not on our phones we're having a conversation we're giggling we're laughing
Starting point is 00:41:22 we're having great conversation we have many conversations but we're not on our phones laughing when we're in the car we do it's Caitlin well we both work from our phones it's hard I think we do a good job at night of putting them away
Starting point is 00:41:35 oh I think we do a terrible job you know the beauty of this what this could be settled with stats we go to setting and we can see exactly when our phones are out yeah but the thing for me
Starting point is 00:41:44 is I'm on my phone a lot but it's about when you're on the phone but you can look at timing I think oh okay great let's do it actually I would love to I'm curious how people out there
Starting point is 00:41:56 split their chores with their significant other. Maybe there's a system we could put in place. You know what? Everybody, if you're still listening, thank you. Everyone's like, I'm fucking done with these two. And if you're listening, leave five stars, leave a review and tell us what your, what your rule is about tours between your partner and yourself. Cool.
Starting point is 00:42:16 If you have them, if you don't, if you argue about them, let us know. And that's, that's all I got, Jason, anything from you? I would also love if like on your Facebook group, anybody that has been. married for over 20, I don't know, 10, 20, 30 years. I'm curious what that answer is. Because I hate I hate sitting here and answering for my parents. I would love to hear from people that have been married what their number one secret is to being married that long. I think the best friend's thing is good, but we'll have to find out. We should also ask your parents. Yeah, we should ask them. Maybe we could next time we see them because they just have their second vaccine on in a week from now,
Starting point is 00:42:51 I think. We can do a pod like or just like for five minutes, just have them come on and hear what it is. I would love that. Yeah. That sounds lovely. Okay. Well, thank you for joining me. I love you. And let's go have another glass of wine.
Starting point is 00:43:02 We love you too. Maybe some dinner. Cheers. No, not love you too. I said love you too. Yeah. I said, I love you too. That's how you last 30 years.
