Starting point is 00:02:55 It's time for Off the Vine Grape Therapy. Welcome to your weekly session. Caitlin and friends are here to share unfiltered advice, lots of laughs, and some major breakthroughs. So put your feet up, pop a cork, and get ready for some grape therapy. Welcome to Grape Therapy. I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow, and I have a question. Is Love Blind? Well, I think these two would have to say yes. Wow, I felt like a real host. there. That was like a very hosty intro. After falling in love through a wall, these two little lobsters, aka Alexa and Brennan, are happily married and are here today to tell us all about their love is blind journey. They're married and also, she just dropped in the middle of it that
Starting point is 00:03:40 they're trying for babies. Everyone was obsessed with this pod couple and I'm included in that. Watching the show, I was like, okay, I need to talk to these two and I was definitely not disappointed. So they're sharing their behind the scenes of the pod, what life looks like now, what's to come, which sounds like plenty. And we're finding out the answer to a very important question. And that is what exactly is the jingle jangle? And once you hear it, you're going to be like, ah, I get it, I get it. So enjoy today's little cutie episode with Brennan and Alexa.
Starting point is 00:04:15 Hey, little cuties. Oh, wait, I can't hear you muted. Okay, you're sorry. We had friends on in the background. I'm like, wait. Oh, yeah. Wait, did you say the show Friends was on in the background? Yeah, but I'm like, I don't know what the, I don't know what you can have on in the background.
Starting point is 00:04:32 So I'm like, you can't, but I appreciate that you were watching Friends because that is my go-to show. And I know every episode, every line. Yeah. Yeah, let's go. Let's have a little Friends Off. A Friends Off. What's your favorite episode? Ooh.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Oh, probably the one where Phoebe runs, her running. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I like the cheescape. I think that one's my favorite. Mama's Little Bakery, Chicago, Illinois. Oh, yeah. Wait, what is your favorite?
Starting point is 00:05:02 The leather pants. Oh, my gosh. Of course. Yes. Do you know that I actually almost was that Ross for Halloween once? And I was going to put like lotion and baby powder all over me with like half hiked up leather pants? Oh, good.
Starting point is 00:05:18 We wanted to do when they wake up in Vegas with like the drawing of like the cat and And then it, like, it's kind of a lazy thing. But, like, maybe one year. That'll be an easy. Like, one of the kids to like just. Well, call me lazy because Jason and I did that two years ago. Well, then we should do it. It's an easy cause.
Starting point is 00:05:38 It's like, those who get it, get it. But yeah. I know. That's exactly what I said. I was like, those who get it will get it. And that's all that matters. But it was so funny because Jason doesn't really even get it. So I had to show him that episode.
Starting point is 00:05:51 And he was like, okay. actually think that's funny. And so we were that for Halloween because we were lazy. We're like, I don't want to come up with a big costume idea. Like, we were staying home anyways. It was COVID. So we did that. Oh, that's a good time to do it. Yeah. Right? I think so, too. Also, I was just scrolling. The first thing that came up on my Instagram was Nancy's clearing the air about questions fans have. And I was like, ooh, juicy. Are you guys friends with everybody? Like, do you get along with it? It seemed like that at the reunion. Yeah. Yeah. But the most. There's some that we obviously get along with more so than some of the other ones.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Everyone gets along very well. There's no one that's like, you know, that dude. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. I feel that. I'm excited to talk to you guys. Obviously, you're like the king and queen, prom king and queen of the show. And I'm just excited to catch up and see what's going on because I think everyone wants to know, like, how are you doing? We all love following you on social media.
Starting point is 00:06:48 You're cute as hell. What is life like now that you're off the show, you're out of the pods? You're in public. You haven't had to just hide your relationship. Like, what is life like now? It's like finally settling down, which is like nice. Yeah. Like, you know, all the craziness of everything.
Starting point is 00:07:03 So it's like settling down, which is really wonderful, you know. Yeah. I think it's like both like I kind of miss before everything a little bit, you know, and it's just, you know, we got to do everything. It is so nice when we go out and people come up and talk. But I feel like it's like, I don't know. Sometimes you just want to be ugly and like eat sushi and your sweat. you know and yes yes like i was right yesterday we were grabbing lunch just like well i was at the
Starting point is 00:07:28 office and then people were like oh my god that's the girl from the show and i could see that and i was like you know and i never want to you know come off you know any type of way yeah i know exactly what you mean i know it's it's hard for people to relate to that because they've never been in that position but i can relate to it and i i remember feeling the exact same way where i was like i just want to be like i just want to look like a foot and go and public and like eat whatever the hell I want and not get my photo taken and like not have to worry but also you're like so grateful for people at the same time that they're so supportive and sweet and they love you guys and that you make their day so it's a hard thing to to navigate
Starting point is 00:08:07 I don't mind it I'm still waiting on someone to buy me a beer so I don't mind no one's bought you a beer no that's what I said I want to buy you a beer it is like weird because it's like okay if I like post like a picture or like I did a video of Lizzo and I was just really excited people automatically in the comments were like oh my god are they still together like she wearing her wedding ring like it also sucks like on that front that people are always questioning so like we did date night on Friday and as we were sitting there I could see some people like around us like start you know looking over and I'm like you know anything could be taken as you know for like joking with like are they arguing over there like
Starting point is 00:08:44 they were I saw them they were arguing um you know or you know something and you just so I just feel like on edge a little bit because we don't obviously go through like training to do any of this. And it's just like one day, she's like, here, everybody knows your name. I think it's really funny. People do recognize us. There's always the one friend that would come up and talk to us. And then they like, usher over everybody else, right? I'm like, people like, just come off. Just like, just come up and like, hang out. Like, it's no big deal. But I don't know. I know. It's such an interesting thing to navigate. I can relate to it just because I was like working at a restaurant and teaching spin classes. And then I went on the show.
Starting point is 00:09:19 And then overnight, it was one episode had aired. And I started getting recognized and I, like, didn't know how to handle it because you don't, you think you can prepare for it, but you actually cannot prepare for it. And then you still feel like the same person on the inside, but like all of a sudden, everybody knows who you are. And it's, again, you're not trained. You're not like an actor or an actress that grew up like waiting for your moment to shine. You're just like, wait, I'm still the same person. Some people I'm reading like, oh, not, I don't know if they, someone say they deserve like, oh, they deserve it because like we apply for it. It's like when I like filled out an application two
Starting point is 00:09:57 years ago, I wasn't like, oh, they, I know. They say you sign up for it. Yeah, like I signed up for this. And it's like people tell you like what to expect, but it's different than when you're actually going through it. Like people say, you know, prepare for this, prepare for this. And you're like, okay, you think you're prepared. And then you're not, especially, you know, just like overnight like you said. So yeah, it's a lot. It's, it's very overwhelming. And I hope you guys give yourself grace during it because like I picture it the same thing as Bachelor, Bachelorette 2, where when I got engaged from the show, we had like little happy couple weekends where we could just be the two of us. And all we wanted to do was go get coffee together, go to a restaurant together.
Starting point is 00:10:36 But as soon as that little magical time is done and all of a sudden the whole world knows who you are and they're coming up to you and you don't have that privacy anymore, you crave going back to the little high notes and the pods and the time that felt really safe. Thank God for Uber Eats. and um and because that's you know that's a lot of it's like you just want to stay in together and hang out and not have to like i don't know worry about it so but it is fun like exciting and so i am very very you know appreciative of everyone that watches it and loves our story yes people really do love your story i mean obviously your love story is just like so beautiful and i feel like the two of you are very relatable and you're enjoyable to watch and i feel like you're both very
Starting point is 00:11:18 authentic in who you are and it shows you're not trying to be someone else. And I just always appreciate that with people going on TV because that's that's a hard thing to do. So the timeline of the show always intrigues me because I know it was like a year ago, which is nuts. Did you see other seasons before going on? Only one. Yeah, just the first season. So season two and season three like literally filmed within two weeks. Like we were running at the same time. So our weddings were two weeks apart from season two. That's crazy. And so did you reach out to anyone from season one,
Starting point is 00:11:53 either one of you, and be like, I'm going on the show. Is there any advice? I actually reached out to Gianina from season one. After we filmed. Oh, after. Okay. Yeah. No, we, I mean, because I found out, we both found out three days before we actually started filming. We found out that we were going to actually be on it.
Starting point is 00:12:12 It was kind of like a wait and three days. Mm-hmm. Yeah. How do you prep for that? Like, how do you prep for that in three days? don't like so they were i mean because like especially with covid and stuff like you know going on and so um we kind of just packed as if we were going to be on it and then just kind of waited like it was Thursday night that i found out and left saturday morning so wow i was like on the way to a friend's house for dinner and i was like no i just don't know if i like got it and then as soon as i got there as i was walking down the hallway i got the phone call and i'm like oh my god
Starting point is 00:12:44 i was probably annoying everybody at there because i would like fall like every day like any update don't want me there just just i have asked me what i want a sunday fun day do i tell them i tell me yes what do i you know i've got brunch plans so do i cancel or um and then i got brunch at novo so yeah so and then season two came out which was it was kind of exciting for us i'm really appreciate that we for multiple reasons that we were season three rather than season two um It was also just being able to watch season two come out and kind of just, you know, when I watched season one, I wasn't thinking like, oh, I'm going to be on this. Like, how was it play out, you know?
Starting point is 00:13:25 But it did prepare ourselves, I think, a little bit more for it. And then we also just got a long, you know, longer time just to be us and not. Because the internet has a lot to say. So it's just everyone has an opinion on something. And it's especially when it's couldn't be further from the truth. Like a few things I've tried to like address like him converting. because a lot of people did not like that, that I was forcing them to convert.
Starting point is 00:13:49 And I'm like, if you know anything about Judaism, you can't do it in six weeks. So it takes a little bit longer than that. Isn't it nice now, though, to have your voice? Because I always say this to people who are on TV and then come off. Because obviously, like, we love to watch the show, but we all know it's an edited version, cut down version, and that people don't really know the truth on a lot of things.
Starting point is 00:14:09 And it's spun a certain way or edited for certain purposes. but yeah it isn't like with me saying the conversion thing like I've talked about it he's talked about it the fact that he hasn't converted but that's still like the narrative that's in people's mind and it's kind of like once that's what you see that's what it is and so yes I mean like you know people are saying stuff about him like oh like you know she's obviously controlling him she made him convert and then you know he's under my dad's thumb and I'm like people will believe whatever they want to believe about you, no matter what you do or say, they will, they have their own opinions and there's, there's no changing their minds. Even if you're like, this is from the horse's
Starting point is 00:14:51 mouth. They're like, nope, nope, I don't believe you. That's really hard. But do you guys, are you able to not let the noise, like interfere with the relationship? Because I know that can be really hard. If anything, like, I mean, we laugh about it. It's just like, that's awesome. It brings you closer. Because it couldn't be any further from the truth. It does get a little frustrating sometimes. But like when I was saying it is, it has like calmed down for the most part. I've always, I think one thing I've always kind of reiterated is, you know, we can't control everything. You control what you can.
Starting point is 00:15:26 And then everything else is just left up and you make the best of it. So we've done really well on maintaining us as a couple. And kind of letting everything else, you know, that needs to fly by, fly by. Yeah. Also, at the other day, like, we know that we have our families that support us, you know, that they know, see what's going on. We know, like, our friends don't. And that's all that matters, you know. So I totally agree. It really is. I was just talking to. Do you guys call her Zay? Because I don't know if I'm allowed to call her that yet. But she was saying the same thing. Like, it's just so meaningful and helpful to have the people that, like, humble you the most surround you after all of this craziness. Because you're like, this is really all that matters. That stuff doesn't matter. And, and, you know, the next season. we'll air and then the next season we'll air and you guys will all just be able to have each other at the end of the day which is nice and i was thinking about this too because the turnaround time from filming to airing because people didn't know who you were yet were you able to go out in public or did you still have to keep it like on the down low in case there was footage of you being out together uh like we i mean we've lived our lives we just when you yeah that's nice there was there was just like a pause and we're like how did you meet it would be like um um speak dating or you know on an app you know like it was just like a pause and we would like each other like what we'd always try to make it funny stories every time you met somebody on how we met so like to see like shock value see who would be like shocked the most of the story so we should
Starting point is 00:16:54 have fun yeah what's the craziest one what's the craziest story you told of how you met was it the bar one i said it like threw something on her in a bar and she was like i'm going He did one of the movie, like the Four Christmases. Yeah, oh, yeah. Yeah. He does hit on me when we go out. It's really funny. He doesn't work.
Starting point is 00:17:19 I wish it did. I wish so bad. Oh, that's, wait, I can picture you guys doing that. I don't know you very well, but from what I do know, I feel like you guys would do that. That's P-E-R-K-I-E-Prints.com. I'm always curious about the logistics, but I have talked to so many people from the show that I'm starting to figure it out. But It felt to me like you two fell in love so quickly. And I was wondering if like once you had it narrowed down, like once you kind of knew, did you only see that person moving forward or do they still bring in other men and women for you guys to talk to?
Starting point is 00:19:45 So day one, you talk to everyone. It's literally like speed dating. So I'm not wrong. I'm saying that we met speed dating. Yeah. You're not a liar. Literally talk to everybody and then you kind of just like narrow it out from there. So there was like some people like from the in seven minutes like you're like I couldn't have
Starting point is 00:20:01 this conversation for us my life. You know what I mean? like it was it was just a number and then you just like kind of numbered it down and then slowly it went down day three and it's something that I've talked about a little bit day three was a really hard day for me it was just I really said it and that I was away from my family no phone no outside communication and I was just like I don't I really was like I don't think I'm doing this right the only person I'm interested in is him and so I went in like the morning of day four and I was like hey if there's something that you know a girl of
Starting point is 00:20:32 hear that you're liking explore that just let me know and i'm gonna like i'm piecing out and he was like no you're it for me and then i walked out they canceled the rest of my dates the morning of day four i was like he's it because i just i mean i'm wasting other people's time because sometimes you're in those pods for you know yeah someone so they can't for everything and then he went in and broke up with each person and you saw that with colin um yes we saw and then zay was one of them which is fun to love about now and then there was a few others that came out and we weren't talking about names. I'm just trying to be respectful, you know, and...
Starting point is 00:21:06 Of course. Looking back, like, I could have just ended things and had not told them. But I just wanted to, like, yeah, I just want to be up front with them. Yeah. Be honest. But everybody else, a lot of other people, like, you know, they date multiple people throughout the nine or eight days or whatever it is. We just found each other early and we knew that if it was going to work out,
Starting point is 00:21:28 it was going to work out with each other. So we just got lucky. that is that is lucky day forward if i he was just like do you want to go like leave this and just do it and i was like it's working i don't know what is going on here but whatever is happening in these pause it's like it's really working like you have conversations that you really would not have um i was having a really tough time with the cameras i mean i know like we said earlier in the the thing is you're not really prepared for all the cameras you you understand maybe what the spot what's going to like be like afterwards but whenever
Starting point is 00:22:03 i was there and all these cameras were on me and it was just the the feeling of all that stuff i'm just such a private person so to me really really difficult and i went in there and told her i was like hey i'm really thinking about leaving right now and really yeah and i was like i really want to leave like please leave with me and she said it's worked out so far like let's just give it a couple more days to see what happens. Yeah. Because it was. I'm like, I really don't know how, but it's you really, you're just, you know, you really are away from all, all your distractions and everything. So you can really be put, you know, and, and it worked. So, because I mean, that's the thing
Starting point is 00:22:40 that they say they, they like when you're pushed outside your comfort zone is when you grow the most. You're sitting there with all distractions gone and you're getting to the root and to the like guts of who a human being is to their core to fall. And you fall in love. with that where on dates and first dates and second dates and then there's the texting games and there's this and there's that and you're just like laying it all out there. I am so lazy and also I'm kind of like I'm very dry sense of humor so it comes off very bitchy and so I'm the worst sir because it's just it's just dry you know it's either dry or it's very like sexual because I like make a lot of sexual jokes you know so it's either like what is she is she dry or
Starting point is 00:23:24 she horny right now like that's that's a gift from me so i'm not a great dexter wait that's so funny i'm really thankful for the show because it does you know it eliminates all this the show takes everything away and it actually makes you discuss real issues and you talk about real things that are going to be it's going to affect you for life and that's what we did we talked about things years in the future you know we talked about kids families how we want to be and there's just a lot of stuff and we didn't ask each other what our favorite colors were we didn't ask I didn't know what she did until like like three days after we were engaged okay like it was one of those things it doesn't to me it doesn't matter he goes by the way do you do something in insurance and I was like yeah
Starting point is 00:24:09 he's like the guys are making fun of me because he didn't know and they because they were saying oh the insurance girl and he was like oh she does insurance so it really was like it wasn't something that you taught like everything that you normally talk about on a first date is nothing that we knew, you know. I kind of love that how you didn't know what each other even, like, that's how much you were just focused on what was like on the inside. And I always asked people this because Giannina told me one time she was like, yeah, I didn't know what does Damien look like.
Starting point is 00:24:38 So I asked like who is celebrity doppelganger was. So that's how we like figured it out. Did you guys do the who's the celebrity lookalike thing? Not even close. We had like two foot tall. She didn't know. I said I would love to even if you were two feet tall. I gave nothing away
Starting point is 00:24:56 I know he didn't give anything one of the other girls told me I compared it to my sister because my sister my stepmom's daughter her dad is Guatemala and so she's you know has darker features and stuff and then my stepmom is like
Starting point is 00:25:11 white white blue eyes straight hair and so my little sister she has very curly hair darker features and so I kind of related it with him to her because I was like you know I've always like her and I relate very well to each other because Morgan didn't know how to like deal with her curly hair but I'm like that's something that I have and so you know it's it was just nice to you know to relate it to that but that's how I kind of get like but you also
Starting point is 00:25:37 me saying I have darker features that doesn't really tell anything about me and you know so it's like I always just find it so interesting because I love how much it doesn't matter I love how much it doesn't matter like you are just falling in love with each other's souls and that is like the most beautiful experiment ever. I always want to know, I don't think I've ever asked anyone this. Are Nick and Vanessa just like the best? Yeah. I like, I like them a lot.
Starting point is 00:26:00 I don't know. There's something I don't like like them. I think that they're great. I love them. And I like the way that they relate like stuff to themselves. You know, it gives and makes it more authentic to me that they're not just saying they're like, okay, you, you, you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:18 I was a huge fan of events back in the day. So when I met Nick, oh my gosh, he's the coolest dude. He sticks up to the hive. Okay, I'd say that. I believe it. I feel like I was a fan of, well, 98 degrees. I was like, I loved them. But like Nick and Vanessa, I do.
Starting point is 00:26:37 I like how they relate it to themselves too, because I think that's why they hired, I guess, a couple to do the hosting is to be able to relate to other couples. So I love them. So I'm glad I asked that. But question about the pods. are there time slots that you like sign up for can you go in the pods whenever like how does it work for them like how much time do you get in the pods i know seven minutes at the beginning for the speed dating but like once you're towards the end slowly like as the days go on you're
Starting point is 00:27:05 talking to less people so your time becomes longer so then you'll have like morning dates and you'll also have night dates some days you'd be in the pods until like three o'clock in the morning because you're hitting so many dates so i'm trying to remember because it's really day three i think we were talking about five or seven or five or seven Like, don't sign up. You just like, you're, you're given, like, go to Pod 1 at this time or go to Pod 8 at this time, right? I got it. Don't know.
Starting point is 00:27:28 And that's whenever you saw that in season two with Shane, he didn't know who he was talking to because there's no names. It's you go in there. So you're just like, you walk in there and you're like, hi. And then I heard his little swat and twang. And I'm like, if it's Brennan, my baby. Oh, you guys are so pretty cute. So did you overcome the cameras then?
Starting point is 00:27:48 because now since you were a private person and now everyone knows who you are, have you overcome that or are you still like, no, I want to be private. It's difficult. It's weird to say, I don't, yes, I do want to be private at the same time because that's just who I am. But this is different because like what we're doing here, it's like I'm just talking to you or like we're just talking to you. There's not eight different cameras on us.
Starting point is 00:28:10 And in the pods was easy for me because you didn't see any cameras. Oh, fair. It's not in your backstage or backseat, I don't know, in the lounge, I guess. is when there's, like, 20 cameras around? Yeah. So it's very prevalent that you're being recorded. I think girls were more used to it because it didn't phase me at all. Like, the girls.
Starting point is 00:28:28 No, we were just, like, sitting, like, doing, like, fake promos, like, hi, drink Tito's vodka. Like, we love Tito's. And, like, do fake things with the camera. We would, like, laugh with some of the camera crew. Like, there were some conversations, I can talk about them, but there was a lot of conversations that, you know, especially as the days going on and you're just, especially with, you know, with girls, you know, you're just. just, especially if you're being inappropriate and just kind of like snowballs and the camera
Starting point is 00:28:53 crew would see them laughing. And it was so funny. And I'm like, you think it's funny too? And he's like, I'm trying to do my job. That was one of my favorite parts of filming was making the camera guys laugh because they have such a like, they like can't bounce the camera. And I'd be like, I'm going to get that guy to bounce the shoulders because I'm going to be funny. The reason, I think one of the other reasons I stayed wasn't just for, wasn't because of her, it was. But one of the producers, and they don't say anything, they don't help you out. They don't give you cues. It's very much.
Starting point is 00:29:25 They're just there to, like, make sure you're alive and, like, let your family know. And one of the ladies would, like, talk to my grandmother, let her know as alive. And she, like, I went up to her and I was like, I'm going to leave. And she goes, go tell Alexa. Like, don't, why are you having this conversation with me? Really? They were very, very, very sweet people, but we're there. And, um, that's, it's so interesting.
Starting point is 00:29:47 in hearing different, like, shows because the producers on The Bachelor becomes so close. They talk to you about everything. They'll, like, you'll hang out with them until you go to bed. One of our producers, she's one of my absolutely best friends. We actually have dinner with her tomorrow night. Yeah. She, I had a bachelorette a year after, like a year later, like right before our one-year anniversary, I had a bachelorette.
Starting point is 00:30:12 So, like, that's something I wanted to do, you know? Yeah, of course. We seem to have one, but she came, like, she's one. of my very, very good friends. Yeah, you probably become close with them after too for what everything that you've gone through and being able to talk to them because there's not many people you can talk to you right after. Are you guys going to have another wedding or are you like that was our wedding? We want to do like right now we're trying to have kids and everything. And I'm like, I'm not going to try and like plan a wedding around like having a baby. And like, oh, wow. Oh,
Starting point is 00:30:40 that's so sweet. I don't know. I've never really been the big like wedding type. We want to like three newer vows, for sure. Yeah. People gave me some shit up on my vows. Like, his vows were so much better than yours. Okay, first of all, your wedding video, ma'am. And look at your... Let's see first of all.
Starting point is 00:30:58 But I thought I would... Like, I had them in my head, and I got up there, and half of them just completely flew out of my head, you know? Of course. You're nervous, and it's like a life-altering moment, and you're supposed to just, like, smoothly sailing through it. No. And I made a promise for the jingle-jangle. They were beautiful.
Starting point is 00:31:15 They were, he enjoyed it. He knows how much I love him. So that's all that matters. Thank you. That's all that matters. Thank you. Let's all for your wedding video. Maybe I'll just mean to say about your words, but.
Starting point is 00:31:27 I always do that. I always do that. Wait, why don't you show me your, like, the people judging photos or something. I'll be like, you're, you don't even show your photo. You're a private bot on here. Like, show your face and I'll attack it, too, if you want me to. Okay. What was it like for you to watch the show back together?
Starting point is 00:31:45 or did you? Because some people, first of all, I'm so mad at myself for not drinking wine right now. Oh, you should be. I have my own wine label and I'm not even, I was just like, yeah, I'm so mad at myself. I'm going to text my fiance to bring me a glass and see if he will. Okay. Did you guys watch the show back together? Yes.
Starting point is 00:32:05 It was, it was, I mean, it's so weird because it's a year and a half ago. Try to remember every conversation you had a year and a half ago, you know, and it's. No, I can't. I feel like a completely. different person than was on the show. Like, I'm still the same person, but also, like, my whole life, not, nothing near the show changed. You know, I got married now and, like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:32:26 It's very different going from being extremely single and, like, being, like, the third wheel and fifth wheel or seventh wheel to everybody, you know, to being like, like, my husband's going to come. Did y'all, my husband, y'all got that? Like, make sure. I was my husband. So, you all got that husband. I ring with my husband
Starting point is 00:32:46 are going to be sitting here. You're going to hear full like life changes. And so it's like watching a home video. It's like watching a home video and like someone else's perspective in a way. So it's unique about it, I think. But watching it back, like I even, every time I watch our wedding scene, like I cry. It's just, it's so sweet. Because it is, it's also like listening to yourself on a voicemail.
Starting point is 00:33:12 Oh, yeah. You're like, you're just. like that's my voice that's what I sound like I have that southern twang jeez this is crazy he's like he's like really sound like that I'm like yeah that's so funny I thought you so wait where are you originally from again with the southern twang decatur which is it's like Dallas area it's just like north a little bit it's like it's like it changes though when he's someone on the phone with his brothers I can hear it like I'll know he's on the phone because it gets real hi buddy how you do it.
Starting point is 00:33:48 That's me because I'm Canadian. And every time I talk to my family or if I go back home, Jason's like, you sound so Canadian when you're talking to your family. It makes sense. Yeah. It makes sense. It is really funny. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:04 But it is weird. And it's also like we get asked a lot and we see it a lot. You know, people, people obviously compare things. So people are comparing to one to season three and what's the best season. And I don't know, for me, I'm like, I don't feel like I can say, because I feel like I'm just watching all my friends do something. So I can't like subjectively. And it's also like, you know, you're seeing parts of something and, you know, we know more about like a certain part or something. And it's like, you know, so it's different for us like judge something watching it because we were there rather than everything else. And even when we do the things, like when they're like asking questions, I can't remember what was filmed and then what like, period. You know, like, did they show this? I can't remember if it's. I totally understand you're like you get lost in your own like life sometimes what is the biggest challenge you to have faced since ending the show I would say I think like during the beginning we struggled a little bit we immediately like we moved in before we even got married we got he like
Starting point is 00:35:02 moved in to my place and then we moved into this place shortly after it was I think combined like he would stay up late watching especially during my football season and everything you know It's just like, I didn't even know. I thought it was a one and done with games. No, they play games all night. Oh, no. He learns something every day. So he was, yeah, I was till 3 a.m.
Starting point is 00:35:23 And I go to bed at 9 p.m. So it was like, even though he was physically here, I was, like, I feel a disconnect when I'm going to bed and you're still up. And then I just feel like a distance. And so we addressed early on, I was like, I don't care if you watched you in bed, like, blast it. But it's like having you physically here is different. like that's a sweet little challenge to have that's like the sweetest challenge ever like oh i wanted him to be physically next to me that's sweet because you you feel it like um even like even like even when we're doing like an activity like it's an activity she loves or yeah it's activity i love and
Starting point is 00:35:58 we know the other person doesn't necessarily like that activity but we like now we i think we try to make a conscious effort to include the other person just to have them around because at the end the day like i and i'll use it like in their face like well i get this for you so you do this for me it's like you want to just... You just want to include the other person. Yeah. That's nice. Yeah. Like my friend was making fun.
Starting point is 00:36:19 Actually, it's really funny. So we sleep sometimes holding hands. I'm not even kidding. Oh, stop it. I was telling my friend that, like, yeah, holding hands on night. And he was like, what do you mean you were holding hands? And I was like, no, we really...
Starting point is 00:36:33 Well, it's while we sleep. So you don't really... He's like, what are you going off to war or something? Why? I'm like, I don't know. I don't know. Sometimes you just like, I'm a whole night holding hand. So I was like, I never really thought that it was weird until you're like making fun of me right now for it. And he's like, no, bitch, that's weird. And I was like, oh. I think that's the cutest thing I've ever heard in my life that you fall asleep. Now I'm going to go to bed tonight and be like, why don't we hold hands when we fall asleep?
Starting point is 00:37:05 It's like the lobsters. You know with the claws? It's like the lobster. Yeah. He's your lobster. Yeah. It's just some points, like, I don't know. know that I don't know you'll have like a certain conversation or something like before going to bed and it just you feel like closer to that person I don't know if that makes sense you know like yes I feel like you're like in your vulnerable state like where you're just like laying there and you're relaxed just you know like open a bottle of wine and you're not even planning for it and we'll like dive deep into like a subject of something and just like four hours later you know like yeah I was wine in and we're just like really talking about something and then you just
Starting point is 00:37:40 like you know you just learn something completely new about them and And we'll just lean and then go to sleep the whole day. And so you guys are the freaking cutest. I'm like going to throw up in my mouth. You're so cute. That's really special. I'm like, you guys found your match through love is blind.

Starting point is 00:40:28 I feel like you'd be a really good gift giver because you love online shopping and you have really great sense of style. So somebody, one of my listeners, wanted to know if you have any. rex for the holiday gift giving this year? So I'm actually really excited. So I got him. So I do use like holidays and birthdays and stuff to get him like clothes and stuff. We're building the wardrobe. You've done a really good job.
Starting point is 00:40:49 So I actually, someone reached out, I'm out that's like in Valley View, Texas. And they're called Oak Meadow Ranch, something like that. But we're actually going. I already told about it because I'm really bad at keeping. I'm really good at gifting things. I'm really bad at. keeping it a secret like um don't make a plan next weekend we're going to be doing something on saturday and he's like what are we doing i'm like i'm not telling you it's a surprise and he's like
Starting point is 00:41:16 sitting there and i'm like okay fine i'll tell you where do you get you want to know yay thank you yeah cheers so we're going to this um next week and we're going to stay at like a place that has like giraffes and we're staying in a room where we can feed the graphs from our bedroom and has the giraffe's sanctuary? Yes, it's a giraffe sanctuary right outside of Dallas and we're going next week and I'm really excited and they've sloths and kangaroos and other animals that wait, they have this in Dallas? Yeah, like an hour outside Dallas. It's like in Valley View or something. We have everything in Dallas. People don't realize we got everything here.
Starting point is 00:41:56 I want to go. Because I was like trying to think of something fun to like do like an activity. And I did something on my Instagram and I had some very interesting responses. I'm sure. I do like a cold mold of my booty. Oh. That's kind of cool. We like experiences.
Starting point is 00:42:14 I think we want to do experience. She loves to get me like clothes. She's like a good gift to like get a guy, I think. Yeah. Someone that like has never had like a sense of a wardrobe. But we love to do like experiences. Like whether it's like going out to go ice skate. I know a lot of people in the north that's kind of basic or normal, I guess.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Activity, right? I'm Canadian. I'm like I love that though. Everybody loves that. But it's like a picture. Nick. It's like trying to do like an experience together. Yeah. It's definitely more memorable than just like something. So I'm really excited. We're the same way. That sounds like a like a magical experience. I would love to feed drafts when they're just like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:49 I am so excited. And it's like if we're seeing like in a bedroom that they like wake you up. It's like a door like a window. And so we get to see the drafts all night. And then there's like a window like a thing. And I just open. Oh my God. Yeah. That sounds like my dream. I think. you had to go to like south africa to do that so the fact that you could do that outside of dallas i'm like i'm booking the strip out and i was like um i didn't see it in my messages and i went back to it because someone had said something about something like that so i sort of my like and so i saw their instagram and then i clicked message and um it was there and i was like oh my god so we're going to come and i'm really excited so i'm sure they're excited to have you guys
Starting point is 00:43:30 too that's amazing i have a couple questions from my listeners um somebody wanted to know what is the jingle jangle. Oh, should we tell the whole story? Can I tell it? Yeah. Okay. So I'll do it quick. I'll do it quick.
Starting point is 00:43:44 I'm really well for a dollar. So on the show, we had somebody that came and like talk to the guys and the girls separately. It's like, I guess it was like a safety thing. Like, hey, you engaged. This is what safe sex practices. Everyone knows how to you do. But she like, it was like, she was like giving like grandma by. She was like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:05 Yeah, she was giving grandma. And her way of like saying like, hey, when you're in the mood and her way of saying in the mood is when you have the jingle jangle. She said guys, she goes, I don't know what they're talking about. Guys, they think that they own horny, but guys might get horny, but girls get the jingle jangle. Yeah. And the girls, hilarious.
Starting point is 00:44:25 Like jingles, you get the jingle jangle. I kind of get it. Yeah. Yeah. Like you say that. I'm like, ah, the jingle jangle. Yeah. They're like, oh, I got the jingles.
Starting point is 00:44:34 It means like being in the mood. you feel a little jingle jangle I have a jingle jangle and so it's one of my girlfriends calls it her vagina dancing it's the jingle jangle jangle literally but yeah jingle jangle and then Trader Joe's just came out with pretzels that are called jingle jangle pretzels so I've had a bunch of people send them to me like is this what you were talking about
Starting point is 00:44:56 and I'm like um exactly you're like pretzel on a good mood, but Brett's full. That's so funny. So that's what the jingle jingles. Okay. That's people are going to love the jingle jingle. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:12 Who do you hang out with the most from the show? Matt and Colleen, we do double dates with a lot. And then Raven, I see a lot as well. I think for her a lot. She's a really great. She's a very,
Starting point is 00:45:25 very good friend. It's weird. Whenever you go on a show like this, you don't have many people to, and when you're talking to family, like obviously families a lot of times they help for us they definitely helped but no one really people understand especially how can't relate it's hard to relate and so i think matt and colin and us are kind of in the same spot where we're trying to relate like hey this is selfless out
Starting point is 00:45:46 or y'all are they having a hard time because i feel like they are people were so hard on them after the reunion i think it really brought them closer than they were before i love that yeah that's definitely the the vibe that i get from and then talking with them i think that it really can go either way with, you know, having so much sudden, you know, like, you can kind of. That's good. I feel like that's when you feel like it's you too against the world, especially in a world of social media, that's so important. So I love hearing that for them because that's, you know, again, as long as you have each other. You know, like negative, like negative. So I think it's really good to have your person kind of like ground you. Like with all of a lot. And so I, you know, my heart goes out to anyone who's like doing this like by themselves, you know, like I'm so glad that. I'm so glad that. I have hem that I can, you know, lean on through all of this. Yeah, that's, yeah, that's nice.
Starting point is 00:46:37 People really want to know where you see the relationship in a year. But you said earlier that you're making babies or you're at least trying. So is that where you hope to be in a year? I, at a year, I hope to be maybe one down and working on number two. That's where. Oh, yeah. They're going to be like two down. I did that little TikTok thing.
Starting point is 00:46:56 Triplets. And I was like, no. I just saw that. Twins. I could do twins. Oh my gosh. I would love to have twins. I would love to have twins.
Starting point is 00:47:05 Two and one. Well, yeah, I'm Jewish. I love a good deal. But I've always asked, you get a discount at the hospital. Like, you're already there, you know. So do you get a discount? You're like, buy one, get one free? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:47:17 But you should just go to Canada, free health care. Period. Yeah. The thoughts that I have on discounted hospital bills for 20. But I definitely want to, my sister and I are a year, a week and a day apart. And so I love, like, being very close. So I'd love to have all of our kids very close in age. Yeah, that'd be so nice.
Starting point is 00:47:40 And then you can have all your kids. And then you only have to really like, be like the mom. You come from a big family, too. So you're probably so used to that. Oh, you're one of five. I knew you were one of six. I didn't know you were one of five. Oh, perfect.
Starting point is 00:47:53 All of my grimsmen were my brothers. Yeah. All my best men, a quarter best men were my brothers. Yeah. That's awesome. Oh my gosh, that must have just been a crazy experience for both of your families, but I love how supportive they are and how supportive they have been. I have that time of the podcast where I need you to confess something to me. Okay, well, we have a funny story.
Starting point is 00:48:20 Let's just do that. We can do the funny story. I love the local one, but we can do the funny one. You can do both. this is our honeymoon basically it was our honeymoon what was our honeymoon was our honeymoon was our honeymoon um and and we were a little hungover
Starting point is 00:48:36 we were having a dairy let's calm down let's not try to get yourself and we were a tad and we had a good time in that we were very we had a good time I feel you you're preaching like along the strip you know we love our shukuka and I was like oh my god they can play such chukes here let's go there
Starting point is 00:48:54 and I really wanted cream cheese for my bread and I couldn't think of how to say it and I said I was like, crema blanco. We're from Texas. We're from Texas. We're from Texas. I should have almost second language of Spanish.
Starting point is 00:49:10 So there's no excuse here. I just want to say it. No excuse. Yeah. She's trying to Google it too. She's like, how do you say cream cheese? Bloom is awful with Wi-Fi. My phone wasn't working. So I was trying to say cheese.
Starting point is 00:49:22 Yes. And we're looking at each other. how do you see cheese in Spanish? Like, I feel like we should know this. And we're like, no, it's not. And then, you know, we walk back down the beach. We get back to our hotel room. And I was like, oh, yeah, what is?
Starting point is 00:49:36 I want to know how to say cheese, you know, moving forward. I wouldn't be intelligent. And when Koso popped up, it was a very humbling experience. You think many questions parts of my life and being hungover. Yeah. Well, I was going to say your brain was a little foggy. and also, I mean, not to dump salt in the wound, but I don't speak Spanish and I knew what it was.
Starting point is 00:50:02 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I want to say we do too. Which is Caso Philadelphia. Yeah. For all the viewers. Anyone who wants to know how to say cream cheese and Spanish is Caso Philadelphia. Or Philadelphia.
Starting point is 00:50:13 Yeah. Did you say you were in Tulum? Yeah, yes, ma'am. Wouldn't they know if you just said cheese? You would think, but no. Maybe he's talking with us. Wait, where did you stay in Tulum? I love Tulum.
Starting point is 00:50:26 Oh, gosh. So we've been twice. I don't remember. The first time was Lezebra and I loved it. Amazing. Yeah. It was gorgeous and like right, you know, obviously walked on the stairs and your little like a bit of things right there.
Starting point is 00:50:39 I loved that. And then when we went, we actually did a trip with Matt, Colleen and Raven back when. And, and we went, we would say, uh, canaan. And I really liked it. like jungle like I love the jungle vibes it's like it's so pretty gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous I I love the jungle vibes we stayed there but we we stayed at B Tulum I don't know if you've heard of that one it yeah it's just the best there and the every everything is just so um like zen jungle
Starting point is 00:51:15 good food good vibes and you like you also like have something and you're not you're just like in Totally. Everyone else is making you feel that way.
