Episode Date: January 9, 2020

The Bachelor is back and so is Clio! Kaitlyn and Clio sit back, relax, and give us a recap with their thoughts on the 3-hour season premiere of pilot Pete's season. The first episode takes us... straight to first dates (a new move). Clio thinks it's a good decision and Kaitlyn finds it too bold that Pete's parents already met one of the girls. Starting point is 00:00:00 Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story. Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge, there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice. And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am. It's not just any audiobook. This is a full cast performance. So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry, brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
Starting point is 00:00:25 And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads Sing is Mr. Darcy. And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything. Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix. Talk about a dream cast. Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics, and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy. And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels so fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.
Starting point is 00:00:58 So whether it's your first time experiencing Pride and Prejudice or you've read it a million times, you're going to fall absolutely in love all over again. So go listen to Pride and Prejudice now at audible.ca slash Jane Austen. We're on with OTV. Podcast One Presents Off the Vine, Grace Therapy. Caitlin Bristow's going to answer your questions, drink to your confessions, and hear what you have to say about anything Bachelor. Let's shake it up some more. Here's Caitlin. Hey, Cleo.
Starting point is 00:01:32 Hi, Caitlin. We're podcasted. We're doing it. So the other day, Cleo and I were talking. I was like, Cleo, everybody wants you back on the podcast. We need to do it. And she was like, I got to get drunk. I need at least a good drink and a half.
Starting point is 00:01:46 And that's when I realized that I miss Rick. Because my Rick voice has always been my drunk voice since I was 12. Just kidding. I didn't drink on a song. But, you know, since I was. too um but i i always realize i when i drink i realize that the rick voice comes out so i miss him oh i know but you use it in the right times yeah when i'm drunk when you're drunk yeah yeah it's so true when you're drunk yeah and that is classic rick classic okay so for anyone who's listened to the
Starting point is 00:02:18 previous podcast yeah you know that we have our banter that we have our sayings and last i think it was last year when we were in Iceland, too much. Was that Iceland that came up? Yeah. I think it was. I think it was either Iceland or Italy where we were like, we're having too much fun.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Oh, I know. Because we were talking about family guy. And I was like... That was Iceland. It was too good. Yeah, too good. Yeah. And because Peter goes to get a physical
Starting point is 00:02:48 and his wife was like, so what the doctor say? Peter, what's the doctor say? And he's like, yo, oh, yeah. good too good and then it really stuck yeah and that was a year ago well now we have a new one and now we're gonna annoy people with classic we can't stop saying it we can't i don't even know where it started it was like yeah it's in sonoma oh oh so we're in sonoma yes and what were we doing there we were tasting some new wines some spade and sparrows 2.0 if you will we're trying to get the perfect wine and i think
Starting point is 00:03:24 think with my with spade and sparrows with the first rosé pinot grigio and cab we were like holy shit amazing that was delicious yeah that was everything we could have hoped for and then we went to sonoma and they were like look we can improve this just a little bit same brand same wine same everything better grapes and let's stick to it and we were like classic classic no that doesn't even apply to that but yeah okay so i did a poll and i was asked asking people like what kind of wine they would enjoy or what kind of wine they would want to see. And I was surprised how many people said chardonnay. And we were talking to everybody and said no one. They're like, look, the kings of wine, it's the cab and the chardonnay. That's just
Starting point is 00:04:08 what people love. Yes. And I was so happy because I've been pushing chardonnay on you. Yes. And I've started to love chardonnay. And so now we're doing an unoaked chardonnay. Boom. High five to that. It was so exciting. Because you don't have to. Some people don't like Chardonnay and some people love Chardonnay. This is for the people who... In the middle. It's right in the middle. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:30 Well, because we are now getting into Chardonnay. Because we're old. Yes. We were with two other people, Alex and Aaron, and they are not Chardonay fans. And they tried this one because we're like, well, let's do the unoaked. And they loved it. I loved it. But yeah, it was really surprising because I also saw so many people who were saying moscato.
Starting point is 00:04:46 And I had never had Mascado before. So we tried it. Miscato, mosquito. I don't know. Potato, potato. I don't know. I was like, everything. You're so Canadian.
Starting point is 00:04:54 I don't know which way is the right way. Potato, potato, mosquito, moscato. I don't know either. But what did you think? It was, for me, it was too sweet. Yeah, me too. It almost felt like an in-between a wine and an ice wine. See, it's so hard because we're trying to come up with wines and taste wines and come up with spade and spade and spares that everyone's going to love.
Starting point is 00:05:13 And everyone's not going to love what we love and everybody has different tastes. So it's so hard to come up with the perfect wine. But at the end of the day, what did we say? We have to just go with the wines that you love. Classic. classic but yes we have to yes and and i i did i went with the one that i love that was you know it was approachable as the wine people would say not offensive it's not offensive just approachable it's easy drinking yes and at the end of the day we're like okay why spade and sparrows what is it
Starting point is 00:05:45 it's the wine that you like yeah so that's where we're like okay stop focusing on what you think everyone else will like focus on like what's your favorite and then let's go that. Yeah. And I feel like you were very clear on which ones you liked. I'm really excited. I love like looking on your social and seeing what people say. And and I love you. No, I'm saying like, and what do they say? I don't know. What else? Oh my gosh. All right. So I want to take a minute to tell you about the brand from the co-founder of Jimmy Chew. It's next generation luxury footwear by Tamara Mellon. and it's redefining luxury and breaking the rules.
Starting point is 00:06:26 These aren't just shoes that you can find in the retailers. They deliver directly to women, plus they offer complementary shoe care with every single purchase and repairs for up to two years. And maybe the best part, free shipping and returns, no limit to when you can return either. That's a bonus. Their Fit Quiz makes it easy to find your size based on other brands you wear, and when you buy Tamara Mellon,
Starting point is 00:06:48 you'll be experiencing the brand that celebrities including Michelle Obama and Chloe Kardashian are already a fan of. Shop tamaramelan.com slash vine for $100 off your first pair through the end of January. Again, use code vine at checkout. That's T-A-M-A-M-A-R-A-M-E-L-L-O-N dot com slash vine. We had some tequila time. Okay, well, first of all, we had the most productive day. The most.
Starting point is 00:07:11 We brushed the day. We worked. I'm sorry, we had the most productive for three days. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, 2020. We're like, let's make this count. We had, duh. 2020.
Starting point is 00:07:20 2020. no, not 2020. I woke up on the first day of the new decade, depressed. I mean, like, cool, cool, cool, period. Depression, not motivated, can't get out of bed. Three days later, we're in Sonoma. We're in Sonoma. You're trying wines.
Starting point is 00:07:38 And I got back into a workout routine. We've been eating so healthy. We've been eating healthy until the croissants tonight. Yep. We've just been, you know, we've been on time for everything. Punctual. Yes. And if anybody knows me, they say,
Starting point is 00:07:54 Caitlin Bristow, punctual. We're working on it. We're really working on it. 2020. But that's okay. No, but I think it's like planning 2020. There's something about 2020 that to me sounds A, it sounds so good.
Starting point is 00:08:09 It sounds so sexy. And B. And B, it's an even number. Okay. So I think that 2020 is going to be a lucky year, a good year for a lot of people. I feel not personally, but I felt like 2019.
Starting point is 00:08:21 I just heard a lot of negativity around it and a lot of people were excited to turn that page. Yeah, but that was 2018 too. Everyone's like, wow, this world's f***ed up. And then everyone's like, 2019 is going to be the year of figuring it out and 2020 is going to be clarity. And now I'm like 2020 is, is that right? It ain't clear. It's still f***ed up.
Starting point is 00:08:42 No, no, no. It's going to be, no, I feel like it's going to be a good year. I feel it. Okay. Yeah. No, last year was a great year. One of my favorite years, to be honest. I feel like the Bachelor was big.
Starting point is 00:08:51 part of the 2010 decade and the one before the bachelor has been part of the last two decades two decades yeah it's crazy how many seasons are been i feel like it was like huge when it was trista's first season that's when i first started watching tristas you know and she was the first and they got married on tv and it was this huge thing and then it kind of went i don't know i don't remember a couple seasons and then what was the next one you remember i just wanted watch religiously from Trissa until yours. You did? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Oh yeah. I watched all of them. Well, not all of them. I remember I didn't watch that there was a pilot. Jake. I didn't watch that one. He was a little weird. But yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Really? Yeah, I watched all of them until yours. And then after that it just like trickled. I remember I moved a lot of places. I don't watch a lot of TV so I didn't get cable and then it became hard. Yeah. But I'm staying here in Nashville with you and we watch the season. premiere of pilot Pete season.
Starting point is 00:09:54 Oh my gosh. I wonder if Jake the pilot is so jelly. Oh, yeah. You know, he's like, there's like a new pot. Yeah, the token pilot. There's a new pilot in town and his name's Peter. And let me tell you, did they ever use pilot and flying and windmills? But that's what they do.
Starting point is 00:10:14 They beat a dead horse with every season. It's like, oh, two best. You know, Virgin Colton. sexual Hannah it's always they just beat a dead horse which I mean I guess it's a theme it's a theme and a thing you know it's just what they do so but I really want to talk about now that I'm watching again I'm like oh can we do a recap of course we can because he was trying to be what is it um you know the opening scene I was like oh okay top gun oh yeah but I think they're going for that yeah and like there's something to be said about a man
Starting point is 00:10:51 a uniform. Not for me. Well, it depends what kind of uniform. Yeah. Yeah, it depends. What do you mean? Like a pilot? Like, if you were just going on a plane and there's a man in a pilot suit, you're like,
Starting point is 00:11:03 hmm, hot? No, no, no, no. But I would say if there's a guy that's already, like, that you find attractive and then is dressed up. And I think especially nowadays, I feel like there's people just don't dress up as much. You're right. You're right. So it's just like, it's just more striking.
Starting point is 00:11:20 You're right. Yeah. and what do you do you find pete do we call him peter peter i don't know do we call him peter the bachelor peter the pilot pete the pilot i'm gonna call him pete yeah i feel like is pete are do you find him attractive or too young for you maybe it's because he's too young for me he's just not my type yeah i find him attractive but he seems like a nice guy but if i was like if i was one of the contestants one of the girls i don't know you would you'd be obsessed with him you'd be in love he'll be the king of your world
Starting point is 00:11:52 that's so true okay let me retract if I were to pick who the bachelor would be I wouldn't pick him who would you pick if you had to pick one bachelor out of the world who's single who'd you pick I know you're taken but if you were to walk out of that if you were to walk out of that limo
Starting point is 00:12:08 and you were single and there's one man that could be standing at the top of that stupid driveway I don't know why Jake Jillenhall came to mind I don't know if he's single or not Or
Starting point is 00:12:24 If you're talking about Bachelor No not Bachelor Jake Gyllenhaal It's a great answer Jake Gyllenhaal He seems real but he's sexy I pick Chris Pratt At Pratt Pratt
Starting point is 00:12:34 And there's this other guy too That was supposed to be the guy Who was He was the one who was supposed to be on 50 Shades of Grey That guy's that guy Who? Clearly I really like him I don't even know his name
Starting point is 00:12:50 but I think he's really hot. Christian Gray. Okay, so we watched the other night. And one of this, they did this season very differently. I know you haven't watched it in a while, but they never do the first dates on week one on the opening night. It's usually all like limo and drama in the mansion night one. And they usually do some sort of hour opener before the show even starts.
Starting point is 00:13:15 They did. I mean, they're trying something new, which is great. I actually personally liked it. You did. I don't like the one-hour recap. And to do three hours and a one-hour recap, I'm like, I feel like that's just too long. Three hours is a lot. It's too much, in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:13:32 I like two hours. I was really tired by the end. But this was still three. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just, by the end of the okay. But they still did one-on-one dates and group dates and everything in the first episode. But I think the main focus of the whole show was Hannah coming back, which I thought was so crazy and very controversial. I don't know if you know this, but I saw that Mike Fleiss tweeted and said, ratings were up by 30% crazy.
Starting point is 00:14:00 Something, something, you know, and Hannah responded and said, you're welcome. Really? Now, I like that because you would. Well, it depends. It depends. I'm like, is she standing up for herself? And I should ask her this, but I haven't. I'm sure she's being flooded with messages.
Starting point is 00:14:20 but I'm like was she clapping back at him or was she being like you welcome your girl brings the ratings I don't know don't forget about me either way I laughed but it was a big part of the whole episode because the last thing we remember from Pete is that he was madly in love with Hannah now what I found interesting is that when they asked him are you ready to move on are you ready are you over this and they ask every bachelor and bachelor at that when they start the season and he goes yeah i'm over it i'm ready to move on and first episode she comes in and he's like well do you want to join this season or like why didn't you ask me out earlier and it was just really interesting for so many reasons she's still under contract so did the bachelor producers
Starting point is 00:15:08 force her into that we don't know um it was her birthday she was going through dancing with the stars she had just come out of her whole season so to me i'm like god emotional roller coaster I was a disaster if they put me in front of a guy that I still questioned or thought about would I have the same reaction maybe and I know that you felt a bit differently I did and I think that between the bachelorette that was last year like there's still so many months it's different so when you're on the bachelor and you become the bachelette you have way less lead time right moves on to the filming moves pretty quickly but with this like you know he's had six to eight months off so has she and I feel like I didn't watch last season so I don't know if I'm like I can say
Starting point is 00:16:04 it's super accurate but I've followed obviously what has happened and the fact that she now comes on and wants him when he's the bachelor he's on TV and she now wants to be a potential interest for him. I thought was so unfair. I think that obviously I heard that she asked Tyler out in front of national TV. Clearly this guy watching the show on Monday, clearly this guy was so in love with her. He was fully committed to her and would have, you know, wanted to plan his whole life with her. And then he goes on this show, finally can move on, find love.
Starting point is 00:16:45 I feel like genuinely he wants to find someone to spend the rest of his life with. and then she comes and messes with him, I think is so unfair on every single level. And it's like, do that off cameras. Like, are you just wanting so much attention that you, I feel like no one's, I know what? I feel like no one's really paying attention to what, to his feelings. That's a really big roller coaster to go through that, to go through their breakup, to have to see it. And then to finally be able to move, try to move on and then go on another show that's going to be a whole roller coaster in itself. and then for her to come in and sabotage it,
Starting point is 00:17:20 I think is so mean. I hear you and I totally, I'm always going to play devil's advocate in this kind of situation because I know the other side of things where the emotions and I get that, yeah. Will, you know, take over your brain and you're still under contract and, you know, she could have just been there.
Starting point is 00:17:39 But could producers actually tell you what to say? No. No. And it's why would she, and maybe I'm getting a little heated because I feel when I feel strong about something and I don't know anyone but also it's like for her to say those things to him on day one when it's I can't even imagine being the lead how insanely stressful it would be and then to then throw that curveball from the producer's side of it I think is really unfair and from Hannah's side of what she said is also unfair go and
Starting point is 00:18:13 supportive and wish him luck and wish him to find someone that he truly loved and if she really loved him like you had your chance and you blew it uh it's so hard because i i hear you saying these things and i'm like you're right you're totally right and then i think about the other side of it where i'm like god i was in such a bubble and so emotional through that time that i didn't know who i loved or who you know like producers could have easily confused used me in so many ways because at that point I was just so broken down and weak and manipulated
Starting point is 00:18:49 that I could have believed a lot of different things but you have felt that like eight months later though? Well that's what's hard is I'm like but what do we know and what don't we know what are we missing here that we didn't see off camera
Starting point is 00:19:05 I don't know I just I just always gonna want to give everybody the benefit of the doubt but I also hear you and see what you're saying we're going to take a quick second because i have an important question for dog parents out there have you wondered why every dog food no matter how pretty the bag is or the brand or the price is a dry smelly burnt brown pellet why do we feed this stuff to our beloved pets for every meal of their life it's boring and not good well we shouldn't and now we don't have to

They deliver it right to my house exactly when I need it. I just reach into the fridge, open, and pour. There's real USDA fresh veggies. I personally love the dog's beef recipe with carrots and spinach, and there's no wondering what's in my dog's food because I really can actually see the ingredients every time I serve it.

We'll be right back with more Austin Vine, Grape Therapy. This is Austin Vine, Grape Therapy. Julianna Johnson, one of the vino, says, I think she was supposed to come on and do a cameo and being back
Starting point is 00:21:11 reminded her that the process didn't end up working for her. I think that she was probably crying because she felt sad about when Peter came in and made it about them and she went with it. I do think they have an attraction to each other, but there's a reason she didn't pick him originally and a reason she didn't ask him out when Jed didn't work out. So she's not madly in love with them. She wants something to work out for her. That's what she said. That's what she said. Yeah. And also, I feel like there was how much time off. And then she asked Tyler to go on a date and then she was on Dancing with the Stars. And I just find it interesting that that never came up for her until he was on TV. And I know that might sound really harsh and I usually try. And I totally understand there's two sides of it. Yeah. But I think that I still think it's so unfair for him. I'm putting myself if I was in his shoes and there's 20, however many other girls that are waiting and it isn't an opportunity for two people to find each other and why get in that way. If he doesn't find anyone, then approach him and be like, you know what, I think we both
Starting point is 00:22:19 could have a shot at this. Because she is so under producer's influence. Like, who really else does she have right now? And I can't. Yeah. And here's what I think is maybe they were like, he's going to be the bachelor. So like maybe like, you know, like we would rather, you know, I think you have a better connection with Jed or Tyler um we really are hoping for we think he'll be a great bachelor we don't think he's ready for this right now but she's had months but that's what i'm saying is that she probably always knew that he was going to be the bachelor so she like i don't know i don't know i think you're being very nice i am i know and you know and i think obviously coming from you that you've gone through it and you know but everything you're saying makes sense to me i'm like
Starting point is 00:23:03 I totally agree, but I'm trying to think of every angle here because I too was shocked and I was shocked at the internet being so supportive of it because I was like, and maybe I'm a tad bit jealous because I'm like, man, I had no support with so many of my decisions and, you know, then I see, but I mean, at the end of the day, that's all said and done and so long ago, but and this is here in front of us, so it's easy to focus on. but I just, I don't know what to think. And I wish I was close enough with her that I could just ask her. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:36 And, you know, we've tried to podcast with her so many times and things keep happening. Oh, I know. It was like it wasn't meant to be. Yeah. So I'm just so curious because I'm like, I would really actually love to know, but, and I would love to chat with her even, I mean, off podcast, on the podcast, whatever, because I'm so curious. And just to, I always want people to know that I could talk to them as a friend and not just as a podcast. podcast host or trying to get anything like I'm not like that so I would love to know just truly what she's feeling and if I could be there for her yeah or if that is really something she was like
Starting point is 00:24:09 no I'm going in to get them and these bitches can't have them then I'd be like go up you know I'd do it I'd be so curious to know what she thinks looking back of that first episode too and it was her birthday and she said it was a really hard day and oh it was her birthday that day yeah and it was just one I think it would be really hard to go through what she went she went on the bachelor it didn't work out. She was so close to getting what she thought would be forever. And then she becomes a bachelor and I guess clearly that didn't work out. And you feel like you have more opportunities at a shot of love than most because you get a chance of like 25 guys that are all have like their full attention on you. And then that doesn't work out. And I bet you that also is a bit
Starting point is 00:24:50 of a. And then she jumped right into dancing with the stars and you're just on every single day. Yeah. And I mean, through all of this, she probably learned so much about herself. but at the same time, like, you are broken, the fucking down. Yeah, and you've put yourself out there for full, however many months trying to find love and you still don't have it at the end. And you're like, well, what was it for? So maybe now it's like, and maybe that's what it is. Maybe it's like, oh my God, like reflecting and being like, I still don't have my person.
Starting point is 00:25:15 I would just hate for it to happen like that on Pete's behalf. And you know what? Who knows? And if they end up together, I would just hope that that really worked out instead of it being like, oh, no, I, you know what? I'm still back to... Do you think that she'll be on the season, the full season? No, I think there's...
Starting point is 00:25:32 I try and think about putting myself in the situation. And I read this on Ashley Eyes. She did like a blog post or some sort of write-up on this. And I totally agreed with her where she said, it's an, it sadly is an ego thing where once you're the lead, it's really tough to put yourself back in the position of a contestant. You know too much. I was going to say, I feel like at that point, I feel like you would just know too much. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:56 So, you know, a lot of people would say, well, if she's that in love with him, go on the show. But it's like, you have the opportunity of dancing with the stars and you have already made this decision. You're not going to go back and potentially humiliate yourself and let it be in the hands of producers when you already know how much power they have. One, then if she doesn't, if he doesn't end up picking her because now you're competing with so many other people again, then you're feeling kind of like you're back at square one. Yeah. So I don't know what's going to happen. I don't know spoilers and I never read spoilers. So I don't know. But I mean, I've talked to Hannah a few times. I feel like I would know she went back on the season. Yeah. But I just think they're, I don't know. He said he said something about this season cannot be spoiled. So, you know, there's all the spoilers out there. He said his season can't be spoiled, which makes me think. And I also read this. And when I read Ashley Eyes, um, Post, I was like, oh, you're reading my mind. Because in my head, I'm like, well, that just means he hasn't picked somebody yet. Because if you can't spoil your season, there are little moles throughout the whole, you know, everybody tells everything.
Starting point is 00:27:09 Nobody knows anything, which means he hasn't picked anybody yet. Right, because at the end, whoever he rejects, she would think that he picked the other girl. Interesting. Yeah. Maybe because Hannah doesn't stay and then he can't get over. her and then he ends up going back together with Hannah and let me tell you if crazy oh my god and I mean if they both truly love each other and that's the way it ends then amazing right yeah but I feel like that's a rocky start to a relationship it's that's the toughest part and I can
Starting point is 00:27:41 speak to this with full confidence and and experience that starting a love story on that show is a shit foundation yeah it is a shit foundation and especially if you've gone through two of the other guys that you spent the whole show with then you're you know not only do you already feel like the third runner up now you're still if you end up together you're going to feel it even
Starting point is 00:28:07 more because you're like well then you went out in the real world and tried it with both of them and that didn't work and then you came to me and that's so unfortunate because that doesn't mean that it's not true love and that doesn't mean that she doesn't truly love Peter it meant that maybe she had to figure out all these other things before she got to that
Starting point is 00:28:23 so it's I don't know I really just feel for every type of I try and see every single angle of every situation especially in this world because when she first showed up and did I was like what is she doing oh my god is she drunk what and then I thought about it I'm like well wait put yourself in that situation okay and then I think about it even more and I think about all the different angles and maybe the show was doing this to set something up for later and like you You just don't know. Yeah. No, you don't know. So I feel like this will be. I really hope that I commit to watching it on Mondays because I feel like it's going to be a good season. Yeah. And again, I think I've said this the last three seasons.
Starting point is 00:29:07 I'm like, I don't know if I can do it this year because it does bring up a lot of emotions or it does just drive me nuts or I do know too much. But every time I'm like, and I'm hooked. Yeah. You do get hooked, especially when you get to know everyone. Yeah. Like, and you have the people that you're. reading for like I loved the nurse at Victoria Victoria yeah yeah I just like I loved her I felt like she was so sweet his his connection with Madison that concerns me because yeah
Starting point is 00:29:35 look it's night one and if you have that strong of a connection and she's met his family all of that I'm like things are either going to end very in a very harsh way yeah or they're going to be together but yeah but usually you know if you're hitting it off that fast and you're you're the highlight of episode one if you go back history shows us that the person you know it's always night one everyone's reading for this one person and then it just goes downhill you know so I'm like I'm curious as to where that relationship will go yeah that's crazy that she ought to meet his parents night one I feel like that that's a lot a lot at their reunion of the earth okay and then here's the other thing tell me okay
Starting point is 00:30:23 Okay. Again, I want to say this with love because I'm obsessed with Peter's parents and family. Oh, so cute. Who celebrates a 31st wedding anniversary by renewing their vows and not the 30th? So it was clearly for TV, which is fine, great. I love that they could do that, celebrate with the world. We all probably wanted to see it, which I feel like it gave hope to so many people nowadays. Totally, totally. So I'm not bashing it.
Starting point is 00:30:51 I'm just like interesting. and then, you know, and they were doing it on TV. But I'm like, that is obviously something to celebrate 31 years of marriage. I'm going to be, I was crying with them on TV. I'm glad we saw it. But I was just like, oh, that's interesting that they made it a date, you know? I thought it was a little too early, too, the first date. The first, first, like one-on-one.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Because then my mind just goes so crazy with thoughts that I'm like, well, are they setting her up to be the Bachelorette? Because if she's meeting the parents and she's the best first day, and they are clearly showing her best side. She would be an amazing bachelorette. Exactly. Yeah. So I don't know.
Starting point is 00:31:28 I start just questioning. And this is why I shouldn't watch the show. I overthink. I overanalyze and then I speak too deeply and into it. And I always think about it from a viewer standpoint and from a lead standpoint and from a contestant standpoint where I get too confused and I confuse everybody with what they should think. I'm like, oh, they are playing romantic music for her.
Starting point is 00:31:49 And they are really showing her, she's going to be the bachelor. I know. I was like watching the show with you and you're like oh they're playing this type of music this means this and oh this music and I'm like I think you're really looking into the music too much I probably am I probably it's it's so interesting it was a good it was a good first I will say I thought it was a good first show and I'm like ready to watch the second show all right quick minute I've said it before I'm gonna say it again my favorite bra out there hands down boobs down whatever third love it's so incredibly comfortable and they have so many styles to choose from, which are all pretty amazing, from strapless to the t-shirt bra. I don't really understand why anyone would choose to wear something else. Once they have experienced the magic of third love for their lady lumps or tattas or boobies, whatever you call them.

Caitlin Conning said I do think they have a strong connection still after after the final rose they were so hansy the way they looked at each other you could tell there's still something there i remember going into my co-workers the next day and wanting hannah to get back with peter instead of tyler however girl is right he never reached out even before the final rose when she accepted a date from tyler
Starting point is 00:33:36 they might have a connection but if it's meant to be then it would have happened by now so katelyn i again every point i hear i'm like yes all of these things are so true but guess what we'll never know until they fully say it. Yeah. But I think that now, now his mind is just split. He's not fully focused on what's happening right now. Now there's two things on his mind.
Starting point is 00:34:02 There's all of these girls. There's a show. There's the Bachelor Mansion and what's coming ahead. And the other half of his mind must be on, now there's Hannah. What do I do about this? Holy, you know, like this is unbelievable. She's coming back.
Starting point is 00:34:16 This is what I've wanted for months. So I feel like, It's going to be interesting to see how the season plays out because his mind is now divided. Yeah. Which anyone, then that's what I'm like, God, that's what makes good TV, unfortunately. I mean, it got me hooked. Like, I'm ready to see next Monday. I feel like this whole season is going to be about him always having her on the back of his mind.
Starting point is 00:34:39 Yeah. Like, I haven't gone and watched like a second show in a while. And my friends are like, hey, who's coming next Monday? I'm like, Amy, I'm going to be there. I'm coming. But that's what makes me think I'm questioning Hannah's tone to Mike Fleiss's tweet when he said the ratings were up and she said you're welcome. Is she saying you're welcome? You used me and you threw me in there and I was in my most emotional state and that was a hard day for me and that's what you know, glad you got your ratings or is she like, mm-hmm, you're welcome, you're welcome.
Starting point is 00:35:16 And to tell you the truth, again, I don't like to say negative stuff, but like I don't like that answer. You're welcome. It's like either way, either way you look at it. I'm like, you're welcome to what? At the end, that show made you in the first place. Yeah. So to then go say, you're welcome. See, but I had a bitter phase too where I was probably good.
Starting point is 00:35:38 I would have said the same thing. And I was there and I totally agree. But I just think that. Yeah. Not the answer. have said like i would have just kept quiet and i told you to keep quiet a few times and you didn't and you know what i probably should have we'd be in a better place yeah right i'd be able to have bachelor people on my podcast please let me please let it yeah but i don't know it's it's it's
Starting point is 00:36:07 it'll be really interesting to see how everything plays out absolutely i'm i'm here and i'm gonna commit and i'm telling you right now and all the vinos i'm going to commit and i'm telling you right now and all the I knows. I'm going to commit. I've reached out to Hannah, but I'm always here to talk to her not on the podcast. I would never talk. You know, even if she confided in me, I would never come on the podcast. Be like, well, she said this. You know, like I'm just. Oh, yeah, yeah. I'm always there for people who go through this kind of thing. If she wants to come on the podcast, absolutely would love that. Wants to talk as a friend. Absolutely would love that. Well, let me tell you, I will be here listening to your Thursday Recaps of the podcast. I know you keep going to. I know you keep going
Starting point is 00:36:45 going back and forth. Should I watch? Should I not? But I think that I think that we're hooked now because we watch the first one. I may watch the first one. And I also think that it's interesting getting your perspective because when I have a thought and then you tell me. I like to challenge it. Yes. You like to challenge it. Like you're challenging you right now. And not that I'm not that I'm very strongly. Yeah. And I'm like I'm kind of feeling. But it is interesting to hear your perspective. So please watch it. And that's why I like to have bachelor people on here as well when I can or if I can. Because. I like to give people a voice to say, and maybe that's why I'm not allowed to have. But I like to have a voice, give people a voice to say, like, well, here's how I'm feeling. And I get it that it's, it's TV and it's ratings and it's everything. But also, it's nice to hear people's side of things as well. So for sure. I hope to have people on in the future. But also, this is a podcast of just uplifting, funny, fun time.
Starting point is 00:37:42 So whatever. Just call the vinos. See what they think of the episode And then I guess it's all TBD Yeah, I get Yeah It's just hard because I always want to be like Well here's what everybody's thinking
Starting point is 00:37:52 And this is why people are mad And this is why I might get frustrated And this is but this is also what I know So what's your story? Yeah, for sure I can't tell you I'm under contract We'll be right back with more off the vine Grape Therapy
Starting point is 00:38:05 All right everyone If you love my show Then you've got to check out Make Spidey famous again Especially because they're celebrating their 100th episode Join reality TV royalty, Spencer, and Heidi Pratt as they dig into the world of pop culture, share their adventures into parenthood, and interview top-notch celebrity guests like Brad Gorski, Frankie Delgado, and Ariana Maddox. Starting point is 00:38:35 Now back to Off the Vine Grape Therapy. Okay, so I was dying laughing today. I hope this lands. I hope this Peter Pilot lands. You know, because this was so funny that we were crying, laughing. I don't think people will understand. Just how funny it was. Just how funny it was.
Starting point is 00:38:55 But I just need to tell you guys because I want to talk about it. Okay. So we're driving home. We've done a whole bunch of errands. We're getting ready for tomorrow. We're doing something exciting, but you guys will have to wait and see. And then Caitlin's like, wait, I need to get a podcast. I need to get a spray tan
Starting point is 00:39:13 There are two very important things in my life The podcast and a spray tan Yeah, podcast and spray town Especially when we're gonna be doing What we're doing tomorrow I'm like, yes, absolutely I'm on board This is priority
Starting point is 00:39:24 And so I was like Why don't I drop you off at the spray tan place I'll go run a couple errands That we're on our list of to dos And then I'll come pick you up And then we'll go home and make dinner Caitlin looks at me She's like
Starting point is 00:39:35 No no First of all I was like I ain't going to know fancy first of all Anastasia in Nashville if anybody's listening and needs a spray
Starting point is 00:39:45 templates in Nashville it is the bomb Anastasia is amazing she does my eyebrows and my lashes when I'm in Nashville and my spray tans but I was like
Starting point is 00:39:56 I'm not going to know Anastasia like let's make it look good I was like we go to Sun Tans City that's where I go yeah Sun TAN City
Starting point is 00:40:06 like I have it down to a T in and out in and out in and out Yeah, she's like, Caitlin's like, beans. You're like, I calculate it. I leave my house at six minutes from my house. I go in, get my spray tan, and then what do you do?
Starting point is 00:40:18 I can't even explain it. I go in, so at six minutes from my house to this place, I go in. I'm in my smash and test, one piece romper, just a black romper that I can easily go in and out of, no undies, no bra. I go in, I say, hey, that's my name. They're like, do you have a, do you have a scan card? No, I got a fingerprint. I put my fingerprint on.
Starting point is 00:40:42 They say, okay, bed 13 is ready for you. Bed, spray tan booth, whatever. I go in, I'm like undress as fast as I can. I almost time myself. I have a little game with myself how fast I can do it. I get in, put the hairnet on, and I press the button, and I'm like, shh, shh, and face right, face left, sh, and face it back for your final session. Now, when it's doing the air dry, I'm a, I'm a,
Starting point is 00:41:09 where I go and I get the towel and I pump out a bunch of paper towels. Bring it back into the booth which starts air dry me. I'm already wiping my hands and fingers from the block. You're telling me, brilliant. I've never thought of about doing this. Yeah. You got to wipe the blocking cream off your fingernails and all that stuff.
Starting point is 00:41:26 I'm wiping it off while the airing is going on. Then I just pop back on my onesie and run out the door. And I'm always like, and now I got six minutes to get home and then I got to do this. So I'm really thinking here like, wow, this is amazing. I'm only going to have to wait 10 minutes. If that. In my head, I was like, no, not 10. Six.
Starting point is 00:41:46 Two. Yeah, two minutes. Two minutes. And then I was like, okay, okay, fine. And then I won't run the errands. I'll just wait for you. And then we'll head home and we'll make dinner and we'll do the errands tomorrow. So we park and I was like, okay.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Yeah, I'm getting pumped here. We're going to get you in this fast as possible. Yeah. And I'm going to time it. Yeah. I was like, okay, we got this. right now i promise i won't set the time until you go and then i'm going to record you going in and coming back and then we'll know how long it took you to go in so i'm getting ready
Starting point is 00:42:19 kately's like hey let's go so i take my phone i'm recording her going into the tanning place and all of a sudden i noticed i'm like what is going on there there's like she jumps up and there's this little flap like just like a thong looking coming out of my jacket and my pants zooming in and I started breaking down into tears laughing so hard so beans had been wearing this um body suit body suit snapped at the crotch and it had it had kind of broken earlier and so her it was just hanging out and she was feeling so confident she walks in and she's like I'm here for the spray tan I'm thinking she's going to go in and be like
Starting point is 00:43:07 I'm going to bid 13 And the finger like already out ready for the like Fingerprint Let me tell you Watching from this car All of a sudden Like the lady's like what Hands her form
Starting point is 00:43:19 She's there for 10 minutes Filling out of form waiting And I'm like what is going on over here I'm like this is taking so long This is already 10 minutes And then there's some blondeie behind me And I see her with her camera up I'm like look at this girl
Starting point is 00:43:32 Thinking she's taking sneaky pictures There was a Caitlin Bristow in the tanning salon. And you left your phone in the car. And I was texting you being like, your thong is out. But she didn't see it because her phone was in the car. And I was like, talk your thong in. My body suit thong, like an actual legit thong body suit.
Starting point is 00:43:52 The thong part was hanging out. Now here's what I didn't tell you, Cleo. What? I mean, you know being a girl, you get some juices. Do I want to? I know. You know, like, I know I started coffee, too, because I laugh so hard, is that me?
Starting point is 00:44:11 You know, when you, like, don't wear underwear? You weren't wearing underwear? No, I was. Oh, but I maybe didn't wash the body suit previously, and after I wasn't wearing underwear. So there was a little, like, oh!
Starting point is 00:44:27 No. On the body suit part hanging down. Do you think they could see it? I don't know. Ask the girl who took the picture. I hope she's a vinyl. I hope she has a photo. If you are a vinyl listener, please post this picture. If you live in Nashville or you know someone that does that goes to Sun Tans City for great spray tans and happen to see me signing stupid paperwork to say that it's 2020 and it's a new decade and I can't, I don't know what their new rules are.
Starting point is 00:44:54 I just sign the papers. Smart. Yeah. And you saw me and you took pictures. Please post them. Tag me. Yes. Because, but don't zoom in.
Starting point is 00:45:05 No, do it. No, we can zoom in. No, anyone can zoom in. Anyone. That's funny. Okay, this is a 30-second commercial. That's it. And I'm going to throw a lot of numbers at you.
Starting point is 00:45:16 Okay, but please stay with me. In just 15 minutes, you could save 15% or more on car insurance. This company has been offering great rates and great service for over 75 years. And anytime you need help, you can speak to one of their trained specialist, 24-7 the company is geico go to guycoe dot com today and again sorry for all the numbers and in five four three two one i'm out of time anyways well also so so i started like she was there for so long that i was just like starting to go on my phone the funniest is that i was so cocky too i was like oh yeah watch me come in and i even i even asked her i was like should i call beforehand you know make
Starting point is 00:45:55 sure that you can get in because you know we don't want to be waiting a long time she's like nah I'm like, nah, no, no, no, no, I walk in all the time. Cool, cool, cool. And then I have now, she's been there for so long. I'm just on my phone. And then she starts running back and I'm thinking she's gotten her a spray tan done. Nope, not yet. I was like, sorry, there's a wait. I'm going to hang in here for a minute. We're just waiting. And I was like, damn it. Anyways, goes back in and I still see her five minutes later on that chair. And I text her. I'm like, cool. This is so fast. Then her phone is still in the car. And, And then I'm like, I'm just going to call my friend.
Starting point is 00:46:31 And so I'm on a phone. You call your friend. And I go in, freaking, I'm zooming. I'm like, get at. Okay, here's my chance. We'll show how fast I can be once I get in. So I go. I undress.
Starting point is 00:46:42 I'm wearing socks, which I never do. I'm wearing a brawl, which I never do. And I'm ripping everything off. And I'm putting the barrier cream on my goddamn little. You know I'm timing you. Little boy nails that don't even need whatever. They already look disgusting. It doesn't matter if they have orange crusties.
Starting point is 00:46:57 And every photo shoot, it's like, Oh, shit. I forgot to do my nails. I'm like, oh, whatever. Very unbrand. I'm used to it. Very unbrand. And so I'm putting the barrier cream on.
Starting point is 00:47:06 I'm wiping my hands together with the barrier cream. I put on my hairnet. I get in the booth. And it's like, your session is now starting. I'm like, yes, okay. Uh-huh. To the right, to the left, to the back. Okay, let's start the drying session.
Starting point is 00:47:20 Go quickly pump out a few paper towels. I'm killing it. I'm like, yes, she's going to be so impressed with how fast I come out of here. and I get my clothes back on and I come out into the lobby I say thanks to the ladies and they're looking at me like and I'm like okay
Starting point is 00:47:38 and I run out to the car and I'm like she better still be recording my time and she's recording me and what happened Cleo? All of a sudden I just see her at first I was recording the time and then I just see her running to the car with her hairnet and I was like I need to capture this
Starting point is 00:47:54 I'm going to post all of this on my Instagram because it was so freaking good And then she's like, she's running towards the car and I'm like, in my mind, I'm thinking, wait. Have I been doing straight hands wrong with the whole time? Is she just going too fast? Or have I been, am I supposed to leave the hairnet on my head? And I was like, that was amazing. I ran in with my thong a flapping and I came out with a hairnet on.
Starting point is 00:48:23 So I love you and that's why you're one of the kind. But why am I, why is my pride. around a spray tan like why was i so proud and why is my ego so big around a spray tan like like you could have been like you know what going and get the healthiest groceries and like show me how good you are in this boxing class we're going to or you and but no it's watch how fast i could spray tan but it all up uh you know good point yeah but i always feel better when i'm feeling when I'm tanned. There you go. I do. I tan makes you glow. It makes you feel healthier. But that's a really good point. Yeah, but why? I always get jealous of the girls that can rock
Starting point is 00:49:07 like models and like you people who have that nice pale skin. And they're always like, oh, I'm so pale. And you just rock it. Yeah, it looks so good on people. Yeah. I think it's, I personally think it's like once you get used to it, you know, it's like, then you start wearing, wearing things that match that you your makeup matches that but if you're used to always being really pale then you match your makeup and close to that everyone's like oh katelyn you're so confident and i'm like have you seen me without a spray tan well and now i know that well you're the one who recommended it to me but i've been using the luna bronze and i do myself and it's unbelievable you got to have the mitt yes jason uses luna bronze does he really it's in your math room you're like what's this
Starting point is 00:49:50 he loves it it's amazing it's because it's also moisturizing It's like... And it's natural. All natural. And they're out of Australia and they're doing really good things for what's going on in Australia right now. I saw... Actually, I reposted something that you posted, right? Oh, it's just devastating.
Starting point is 00:50:06 It breaks my heart. No, it makes me absolutely sick to my summit because we're supposed to have a trip there. I know. And now I'm like, if we're doing a trip there, I'm going to help. I'm not going to like, look at my vacation. Totally. That would be amazing. I would love to...
Starting point is 00:50:20 I know. It's just, it's absolutely devastating. and it breaks my heart. Yeah, everyone should do some research of how they can help. I know that, you know, what's her name? The girl who did the skinny marguerite, I follow her on Instagram. Oh, yeah, she was a hostwife, Bethany Frankel. Yeah, she has such a great organization that, um...
Starting point is 00:50:38 Really? Yes, she did a lot for Mexico and does things for the hurricane, um, when other countries or places are in need. Oh, that's amazing. They send supplies and... That's amazing. I know it's really devastating with, happening in Australia.
Starting point is 00:50:54 It is. And I hope we can go, but I know it's... Okay, so it's called Be Strong by Bethany Frankl. She helped the Hurricane Dorian victims in Bahamas. She's done a lot of really, actually, really, really good things. You haven't gotten her on your podcast, have you? No, but I'd like to. Oh, that'd be awesome.
Starting point is 00:51:16 It'd be great to hear. They provide real-time emergency assistance to people in crisis. That's amazing. They just get on planes. they fly supplies, anything out there and get things to people in need. So I think you can just go to her website, which is, I think, bethany.com. Wow, good URL. Seriously.
Starting point is 00:51:35 Be strong. Let me see. Yeah, see, you can just go and you can click here to donate. There's so many different things out on Instagram with influencers and celebrities and stuff that you can go anywhere to help. And I just highly recommend that people do some research and go do that because I mean, imagine even everybody that listens to this, if they donated a dollar. Like, it goes so long.
Starting point is 00:51:57 It goes such a far away. For sure. I completely agree. I will go donate. Bestrong.com or Bethanyu.com. Yeah. We'll do it. Actually, we'll do it right after this podcast.
Starting point is 00:52:06 That sounds good. But, I mean, I had a really great conversation with you, Clee. Beans, I love you. I love you too. We have so many good things coming up in 2020 together. We do. It's going to be such a good year. It's going to be a really great year.
Starting point is 00:52:19 Yes. And I feel that for everyone. And I think everyone needs to put exactly, I'm a very big believer of really, and this is the best time to do it at the beginning of the year and put what you want out there. Really manifest. Manifest it. Write down what you want to happen by the end of the year. Read it every month and just make it happen. Wait.
Starting point is 00:52:40 Because you have the power. Wait, I have to do this right now. So I found a notebook. You did. Yeah. And it says today is October 15th, 2018. 2018 Yeah
Starting point is 00:52:51 Yeah Today is October 15th 2018 Okay Three things I love about my life The success of my podcast I don't have much restrictions I have fun and freedom and flexibility
Starting point is 00:53:07 And I love the people I surround myself with One thing in my life I am very unhappy with is love life Wait October 2018 We were on a trip. Wait, was it Calamigos? No.
Starting point is 00:53:22 No. We were on Abbott Kinney. Having a margarita. Oh, yeah. I remember that. Yeah. I'm about to launch Spade and Sparrows wine. I'm very excited for that in 2019.
Starting point is 00:53:36 I launched a scrunchy line called Dude that I'm very proud of. I won't name numbers, but our investments. What my Instagram was at, my Instagram is at 1.6 million followers. I'd love to reach more. people and have a better platform to do bigger things and better things. Oh, my God, I remember this. I've co-wrote for songs, recorded two, business opportunities and goals. Like, I just want to better the podcast.
Starting point is 00:54:02 I said, I want to involve the listeners more, new segments, less bachelor talk. And then in brackets, I went, but I still am grateful and love it. Scrunchies, new accessories, clips. headbands have hair models give back was in the dew thing do i wanted to do a haley baldwin collab so there's still that oh that one we haven't achieved yet yeah i like wrote out a bunch of things and what i wanted that's unbelievable i remember that and that was a really really hard time in your life yeah and i remember we got notebooks and we were butcher's daughter we went and we started writing them down and it's unbelievable to think you just read all that out and it was almost all achieved
Starting point is 00:54:47 And then if you actually go into like what I want out of work and love life and everything, it was like I wanted somebody that supported things that I was doing and was so happy and like encouraging and and established and like just was like on the same page as me. And in like work I wanted to just like to involve the vinos more and the podcast, which I did on the drum dial and like just so many things I wanted to do. and just from writing the mountain and now reading back, I'm like, holy shit, that was 2018. That's amazing. It's 2020. What the hell that felt like six months ago?
Starting point is 00:55:24 I know, but that was like a year and four months ago. That's crazy. Yeah, that's insane. So we challenge everyone out there to just go get this. You should see this little notebook. It's a teeny little notebook and just get a notebook and put what you don't hold back, put your wildest dreams and what you want to make happen out of 2020. and you can do more than you think, because that's amazing.
Starting point is 00:55:48 I've heard this multiple times over. This is very common. It's really wild. It's really wild because even if you don't realize the power of writing it out, like writing down your goals, it means you visually see them. Exactly. There's something about that. It affects how you act when you see something visual.
Starting point is 00:56:10 And it makes you take time to actually step back. Take a moment from life and think about what you actually want. Like, you know, when people love their list to cross things off? Yeah. It's because they like that visual of crossing things off. If you have those things written in front of you, even if they're your wildest dreams, you're visualizing it, you're seeing it, and you're more likely to do it instead of just thinking about it because you're like, I want to cross that off. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:35 That's why people make bucket lists. Of course. Think about people out there who make bucket lists. They're like, wow, I would love to do this. And once they write it out because it's a bucket list, they're more likely to do it. So why not do that for your dreams? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:48 Everyone go do it right now. Yeah. This week. Right now. It's Thursday. You get until Sunday night and then hold it close to your heart. I was going to say put it on the Facebook page, but that's something that's yours. No, make it the background.
Starting point is 00:57:01 Make a background. Make a vision board. I'm just such a believer. Here we come, 2020. I feel like that's why we're here. Yes. We both believed it and visualized it. Absolutely. Oh yeah, absolutely. And I want that for everyone. Absolutely. So we love you all, Vinoes. Yeah. I'm like, and it's midnight 30. Oh, we need to go to, we need to wake up early tomorrow. So let's wrap this up. You close up this podcast, even though I don't want to say bye to the Vinos. I know. Well, thank you everybody for listening to our little rant. And hopefully we can keep doing these bachelor recaps and dive deep into each episode and give you the outside perspective.
Starting point is 00:57:41 in the inside perspective. That's the perfect balance. And hey, also, just to be clear, I really like Hannah and I just want to be honest with what I felt. And I, you don't have a mean bone in your body and you love everybody. You are just saying how you feel. If they're meant to be, then that's amazing. I just think, you know, it's about the process.
Starting point is 00:57:59 Yeah. Oh, that's so Canadian the process. But yeah, I think it's a really good thing. I think it's, I'm really excited to actually do Bachelor recaps this, this time around because I want to do the inside outside perspective. I want to get people who view it as a viewer and me to challenge everybody with the thinking process. Process. Okay, love everybody.
