Off The Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe - Grape Therapy: Magical Memories, Mystical Moments & Too Much Melatonin with Momma B
Episode Date: September 28, 2023Kaitlyn and her mom, Leslie EDITH, were two booked and busy b!tches in Italy last week – and they are here to talk about it! What started as Kaitlyn’s birthday gift to Leslie turned into ...the trip of a lifetime for this mother-daughter duo. They talk about their magical air balloon ride in Tuscany, the mystical memories made in the historical churches, and what happens when you take (a little too much) melatonin before a wine tasting tour. These two had the best time! It was a week full of singing show tunes, avoiding garlic (you’ll find out why), and a few confession-worthy mishaps that they ALMOST forgot to share. It’s just a feel-good episode with our favorite Canadian beauty, Momma B. THANK YOU to our sponsors! Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story.
Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge,
there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice.
And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am.
It's not just any audiobook.
This is a full cast performance.
So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry,
brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads sing is Mr. Darcy.
And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything.
Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix.
Talk about a dream cast.
Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics,
and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy.
And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels
so fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.
So whether it's your first time experiencing Pride and Prejudice or you've read it a million times, you're going to fall absolutely in love all over again.
So go listen to Pride and Prejudice now at audible.ca slash Jane Austen.

I'm Caitlin Bristow. Your session is now starting.
I'm your host, Caitlin Bricissel.
And I'm Caitlin Bristow's mom.
You are not Keelan Bristow's mom.
You are Leslie, Bistow, Hipkin.
I am.
Leslie Edith.
So today we are walking you through our trip to Italy.
The ups, the downs.
There's really no downs.
There were no downs.
A little cat naps.
Funny stories.
We give you some names of where to go.
I slept better there than I've ever slept.
That's the wine.
Just kidding.
It was also how we talked about how mom overdosed on melatonin before a wine tour.
So everybody enjoy our episode today because it's just fun to talk with Mom on the pod.
Everybody loves a Mama-Bee moment.
Mama-B, Mama-B, Mama-B, Mama-Mama-Mama-mama-mama-mama-mama-mma-mma-B.
Hi, Mom.
Hi, Kate.
How are you?
I'm so good.
Yeah?
Yeah.
How are you doing?
I'm struggling.
I'm still tired.
I'm on a bit on the struggle bus still.
We're going to talk all about the trip to Italy.
The magical mystical.
Mystical.
What's mystical?
Well, maybe it was whimsical.
What's whimsical?
Well, it's just all my wishes rolled into one.
It was like, and I didn't know every day what was going to happen.
We were booked and busy bitches.
Yeah.
We literally had an itinerary from start to finish.
I'm not getting paid to talk about this up and away company, and I should be because I
cannot recommend them enough, but we literally had from start to finish from the second
we landed in Rome, we had a private driver come pick us up.
This is all organized. I didn't plan any of this. I mean, I just planned to give mom a birthday gift. I think I've talked about this on my podcast before where I want to do something on my family's bucket list. So I want to take you to Italy. I want to take dad to Scotland. I want to take Haley on a safari. And so we did Italy. Okay, so we had a private driver. We did Italy. We felt like royalty. I really did. All the whole time from when we went to the airport till we got back to the airport. Yeah. It was truly. I was so spoiled. I felt so.
spoiled too. Like I literally just handed it over to Anna and she just asked like, do you want to do
this? Do you want hot air balloon rise? Do you want wine tastings? Do you want to have a driver?
What are your like goals with your mom? What's her personality like? What are yours?
How are you two together? And what is this for? And then everything was so organized down to like every
restaurant we went to, every winery had something planned out already because you are, let's talk about
your garlic allergy. What a shame.
It is not fun to go out to dinner.
But in Italy, I'd go out for dinner and they'd say, and for you, lady.
They would say instead of ma'am, they'd say, and for you, lady, no garlic, no onion.
They already had.
It all planned out.
They're so sweet over there.
We found a Italian Wells.
He had Wells smile, his hair, mannerism.
Yeah.
Because we both thought the same thing.
Yeah.
It isn't like I said to you.
Oh, who do you think he looks like.
They're both like, holy shit, it's wells.
Wait, go circle back.
We're not, I'm not over the garlic allergy.
Okay.
And onions.
And it's grown into onions because they're both from the bulb family.
That's literally the worst allergy to have in food.
There's garlic and onion in everything, whether it's garlic powder,
onion powder, like in sauces, pizza sauces, pasta sauces, everything.
Everything.
Marinades.
More and more so, as the years have gone by, people are using more of it.
life. That's what I was going to do to people when I eat garlic. Oh, no, thank you. And some people
take garlic pills. And then burp garlic. Oh, my lanta. People are like, okay, are you just intolerant or like
you don't like it? Or mom will projectile vomit. And if you have other things. Projectile vomit at both
ends. Picture it everybody. No, it's not pretty. It's not pretty. If you eat like a dash of
garlic. And then I get like a migraine headache. Oh, gosh. I hope I don't get that gene. I hope you don't
I get a lot of dad's jeans where, like, sleeping, definitely, like, his calm energy.
Sometimes.
Hey, I was pretty chill this whole trip.
Oh, you were.
I think I was, too.
You were.
I was a little jumpy here and there.
You're jumpy.
You're very jumpy.
I feel like moms do that.
Or, like, maybe just as you get older in life, like, you're just more fragile.
I don't know.
You felt so, like, I would, like, move my glass a little bit on the table.
You'd go, oh.
I'm like, Mom.
It just, like, made a noise.
Anyways, okay, so we land in Rome.
Rome.
We have private driver.
Yes.
And we head to Tuscany.
Now, if anybody has been a Tuscany, you know.
It's just like greenery and vineyards and like hills.
It's stunning.
It looks magical.
It does look magical.
It looks like a little tiny slice of Hevan.
Yes.
And we drove through the...
Oh, it was so pretty.
vineyards and we got to our hotel, which again, this company found for us. It was very historic. It was
very old. There was stories to it. There was a church. There were, yes, two churches, an old church and
then you were church. I got to talk about this. Ever since I talked to Julie Chan, I'm a big prayer guy.
Yes, I couldn't get over it. We'd go by the church after dinner and we say, we got to go in and pray.
I've opened my eyes to prayer where it doesn't have to be to like the white Jesus Christ to
It can be your higher power, whatever you want it to be.
It can be this coffee if I want it to be.
You know what?
It can be this crystal.
I could pray to this crystal.
But now I'm like, I love a prayer.
Yes.
And we did.
We enjoyed it.
That was a very cool experience for me because I've always pray.
And now to be able to share that with you to whatever, whoever your higher power is.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And it was so lovely.
Such an old church.
Yes.
Oh.
And it was dark and like.
old and not scary and we would just sit on our knees and everything like i committed to the prayer
life the prayer life is the life for me now okay anyways there was a church there was a gym
there was a spa there was the most beautiful pool sunsets we got there we went for dinner
what was our okay let's say the name of our hotel because say the name of it because i can't
remember people will want to know they're going to be like you did a whole podcast and you didn't
give us any. You told us how great it was and didn't give us any names. It was amazing. And it had
a Michelin, um, Michelin star restaurant, which mom didn't know what that was. The hotel is called
Hotel Borgo San Felice. That's it. If I'm saying it correctly. And the restaurant was in the
hotel. Yes. Both of them were. Yes. We just had some wine. We would play cards. Every single night,
we love to play crib or golf. Right. And we just lived our best lives. We did. And the sunset.
Oh, my gosh. It was gorgeous.
Well, good thing we made it to the sunset.
Yes, we weren't going to.
And then we said, well, we'll just go and maybe have a little appy.
We weren't going to because we did three wine tours.
We started a wine tour at 9.30 in the morning, which when I looked, remember, we went to bed so late that night.
And because we were praying.
And drinking a little wine.
And drinking a little wine.
Jesus is blood.
But I woke up.
Oh, remember?
So we went to bed.
And mom was like, oh, Kate.
going to sleep until 12. And so she... I did not know we had this wine tour. Yes. And the wine tour
started at 9.30 in the morning. Mom wakes up, thinks I'm out until noon. She's like, she's going to sleep till
noon. And she couldn't get back to sleep. You didn't mean to, but you took an Advil PM because you just wanted
some Advil. Yeah. But you also took two melatonin. Two, uh, five milligrams. Teletone.
First of all, what are you... Why are you taking two 10 milligram melatonins in the morning?
No, five, it adds up to 10.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, I thought I had until noon.
If I took two.
And it was like at seven o'clock in the morning.
If I took an Advil PM and two melatonins, I would be a corpse on the bed, not moving.
And I was like, now we got a wine tour at 930.
And you're like, uh-oh.
You rallied.
I did.
Well, I was in Italy.
I mean, who wants to work?
waste any time.
I think you're still in Italy.
Mom's just having some spade and sparrows.
I'm having coffee.
But if I were you, I'd be having some, too, because you're still on vacation.
Anyways, I interrupted you gone.
I'm always on vacation.
But no, I didn't want to waste any time.
But then we had to get ready really fast.
Really fast.
And we made it.
9.30 am on the dock.
And we went to three wine tours.
We went to a castle.
So we went to Kianti winery, which it was so beautiful.
But before that, we stopped.
He took us to a castle.
that we walked around.
Got coffee, cafe.
Yes.
And walk the cobblestone streets of this castle.
I wish I knew what castle was.
A castle town.
A castle town.
We take a picture, didn't we?
Yes.
So we went to Kianti.
Is that how you say it?
Kianti.
Winery.
Just Google it.
It was beautiful.
Stunning.
We got to just learn all about it, which I love hearing all the stories and like the history.
And they had really cool.
I wish I wrote some things down.
But if you want to do some research, just Google it.
because, like, the various stages of refining and aging all the wines and the certain barrels.
They took us down into the dungeon.
The dungeon.
Well, it was where they would go in wartime.
Yeah.
Yeah, people were stuck down there in wartime.
They went, that was their bunker.
Bunker.
Yeah.
And then they've made it into a winery.
And now all the oak barrels are there.
And people have their own barrels.
People, if you're part of the wine club, sorry to my wine club.
get your own barrel. But you do, however, get October 13th, Friday the 13th. We're doing a spooky
night. And we're having one of my mediums that I love come on and read a couple people.
I would love her to read me. Well, come on the big wine guy. If you're part of the big wine guy
club, not only do you get wine shipped to you, you also get to be part of these Zoom calls where
there's going to be a medium and Katie Maloney is going to do some tarot card reading. It's going to be
amazing. And even if you're in Canada, you can still go to the park.
party. If you take a picture of you with your wine. I know, Mom, but it's tough to get wine
in Canada right now. Oh, I know. Yeah. It's tough to get your wine in Canada. Well, then I can't
come to the party. I'll just send you a link. Okay. You're fam, I guess. Okay. Okay. What was the
second winery we went to? Celeste. Celeste? No. No. No. No. No. No.
No. No. Again, another amazing winery that we went to. Was that when we sat outside? No, that was
the third one. No, the second one. We sat outside in that, like, beautiful garden and the bees
attacked us and moms. Also allergic to bees. You're allergic to wasps, garlic, and onions.
I'm just a gem. It's a real treat. It's easy to travel. You're easy to hurt and make sick.
Yes, that was so pretty. Really pretty. And we had a delicious lunch. Gosh, the food is just next
level there. Oh, it tastes so pure. Pure. I don't know how to describe it. It's fresh. It's just like
there's not a bunch of shit in it. It's just minimal ingredients with tons of flavor and made from
scratch. It just tastes better when it's, it's just completely a different game out there with food.
Yes. Beer, wine, food, everything is just better. Okay, do you ever start making breakfast
and then burn your last piece of toast? Maybe the avocado's gone bad or the hot sauce bottle is
empty. That just happened to me the other day. The last thing I want to do is get in my car
and go to the grocery store. Who has time for that? So if you're like me, try grocery delivery

Where else did we go?
The third winery.
Which would, and I think that was the one I just said.
I'm going to, like, I'm going to show people on my social media page because this was just,
it's too good not to share for anyone.
Like, if you ever have the opportunity to go to Tuscany and Lake Como, just, just do it.
Oh, just do it.
I mean, I know it's, obviously, people can't afford it.
And I feel sometimes like I'm being a braggy little bitch talking about it.
But, well, I mean, I'm sorry.
You work hard.
And this has been your mama's, you need to go to Tuscany.
You know what?
I'm not sorry.
I'm not sorry.
I work really hard.
So we did all that after three wineries and mom's melatonin overdose.
Tasty.
Mom had a melatonin overdose with three wineries.
And lunch in between.
She looks at me at one point.
She goes, I'm floating.
I just felt like I was floating.
That's what happens when you cross-fade, as the kids call it.
What is that?
Drugs and alcohol.
Oh, dear.
We're not promoting that.
We're not promoting that.
But we got, I wish I could show a video of us on our car ride home, but I'm not going to.
That's just for one for the memory books up here.
That's the inside treats, as the media trauma counselor would call it.
Right.
We're going to keep those as inside treats.
Yes.
Don't share.
And made it back.
and we said, why don't we just go play some cards, mix in a water, because we've got to make
our dinner reservation.
It's a Michelin Star, the sunset.
I will never get over it.
The food, the service, the everything about it.
Oh, and the piano player.
We knew every song.
It was all like, what, 80s.
He was just playing just for us, I think.
Totally.
They hired it.
Thank you to Up and Away, because you definitely hired the pianist for us.
And then we went to bed.
and then we had a nice 5 a.m. wake-up call for a hot air balloon.
Right.
No, it was earlier than 5.
Actually, it was 4.30.
It was real early.
4.30.
Yes.
We did it.
We got up.
I mean, what do you wear on a hot air balloon?
You wear a chic sweater with maybe a baggy jean, a belt, maybe your hair up, maybe some hoop earrings and some dupe prada sunglasses.
That's what you did.
Except mine were real.
I wore my...
Actually, you know what I wore Amazon's, honey.
that day. Oh, did you? Yeah, Bailey. Thank you. Shout out to Bailey. She gave me some Amazon Sunnies.
They were very cute. They're so sheet. They were like $10. Very, very cute. I'll need to put up a link for
that. I need to link so many things. I said on my Instagram the other day. I was like, I need to link
things because people always ask me and I feel bad because I'm like, yeah, do it later. I'm just
going to go on a little. And you had so many chic outfits. Well, it was fun to see every day
what you were going to wear. Oh, that's fun. Yeah. It was fun to dress myself, to be honest
with you. It really was.
But so we went on a hot air balloon. We went 4,000 feet up. He said that
doesn't usually happen. Oliver. We slept on Oliver. We were snoozing hard on Oliver.
He was so cute and I was too tired to notice. Yes. And then people were saying, was that
Oliver? He was like a, like, rugged, tall Italian man who was like, his dad was, like, invented
the hot air balloon. No, but he like started the company.
He started the company.
But he was, like, so confident in his pilotness with the air balloon.
He knew what he was doing.
I was not nervous.
And then he just, like, has his rugged boots and, like, beard, and he just pours us champagne when we land.
Well, first, we had to get out of the balloon.
Mom had.
You really showed your age getting out of the air balloon.
Sometimes I forget your 71.
And then I go, I see you try and maneuver out of a hot air balloon.
And I go, well, you know what?
They really should have a ladder.
They only had two little steps and you had to climb up and crawl out.
And it's pretty high.
I mean.
But if you're ever going to see Tuscany, do it from a hot air balloon.
Oh, my goodness.
And he said he likes to.
Oh, Treesurf.
We were like feeling the trees.
You know, when you like snowboard for any snowboarders out there and you like touch the powder while you're going down, that's what we were doing with the trees.
Yes.
It was really cool.
And we saw it deer.
Crazy.
Ever seen a deer before?
I've seen dears before, but not from hot air balloon.
A hot air balloon.
And all of a sudden, they just were coming out of the woods.
Boing, boing, boing.
Yeah, there was a lot of deer, a lot of beautiful wineries, a lot of old castles.
It was amazing.
Yes, it was.
And it was so surreal.
It was surreal.
Very peaceful.
I thought I was going to be a little bit anxious up there.
It was, and I'm not really afraid of heights, but it was very peaceful.
I stayed in the basket.
And it looked very romantic.
All of our dinners and, like, our little shenanigans we got up to.
Like, they literally say, experience a timeless romantic.
hot air balloon ride at the beauty of Tuscany from a unique perspective with an exclusively
reserved hot air balloon. Oh yeah, we didn't have to share with anybody. No, we had our own. Other people
were all gathered together in other balloons, but we had our own. Just Google Oliver hot air balloons
because I'm not seeing the company right now. I took a picture of the company. Oh, you did?
Oh, you did? Oh, wait. No. I think it's called Tuscany on air balloon. I don't know, but Oliver,
if you're watching.
I'm just kidding.
He was so cute.
Oh, God, I shouldn't know.
Thank you to Instagram for noticing.
Too late.
Anyways, then we got to go to a cooking class.
And I wish I remembered his name.
Oliver's like in there, but I don't remember the other man's name.
But he was the most incredible chef who had been a chef for, I think, 36 years.
And we made pasta.
Oh, we made pasta.
In Canada, we say pasta.
fresh like literally just flour egg grape flour from their vineyard yes because they use every part
of the grape yeah and salt and a little oil and then we just and we made taglatini tagletelli
and ravioli spinach and ricotta ravioli fresh my mouth is watering me i haven't had breakfast
yet you had a muffin and a wine i did i had a muffin and a wine
But then we got to, so we got to make all this food, again, set up by the company.
Beautiful.
And it was at, okay, wait.
And there was a girl there when we walked in.
I think her name was Caroline.
She went, that's Caitlin.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, she was cute.
She was so cute.
She was so cute.
She, it was adorable.
I mean, she got very excited.
She was very sweet and her husband.
The Kianti countryside, but what was this called like Emma?
Emma's kitchen.
No.
it was like something Emma yes and they kept the name Emma they had sold it but they honored
the woman who owned it before them I'm Googling oh it's 1111 make-o-ish oh my stomach girl
okay what did you wish for I'm not telling you oh good okay I was just testing you
Emma Kianti Tuscany Casa Emma that's what it was well kitchen Emma Emma
Casa Emma yes it was so cool and then we got to
feast on our own cooking and we were wildly impressed with ourselves and a bunch of different wines again
yeah a lot of different wines different wines we bought some wine we bought some wine we drank some more at
the hotel and then it was off to parma which was a curveball i again i didn't look at the itinerary so
we have this three hour drive as we thought i asked how far is it to lake home and he goes three
hours and i was like okay so we had a snooze played some mortal had some coffee and and
All of a sudden, we're parked outside of something that doesn't look like a lake.
And we're like, where are we?
And he goes, you've got your food tour in Parma.
And we're like, we do?
I check the itinerary.
I go, so we do.
We got to learn all about the.
It was a very quaint town.
Very quaint where, believe it or not, they make Parmesana.
Yes.
Rigana.
Really?
Good cheese.
And we had very aged prosciutto.
Yes.
And that's one of their specialties, too.
Yep.
And we went and saw a church, and we learned all about the history.
The church was beautiful.
Our guide was very adorable.
I think they call it a cathedral.
It was amazing.
Yes, our guide was so sweet.
And then we got back in the car and we said, okay, so like Lake Como, around the corner, he goes three hours.
I'm like, come.
Another three hours.
But we got there and just kind of hung out and had dinner and got settled and played cards again.
Every night we either played, no, we played cards every single night.
Every night.
And we did show tunes, Chicago.
Joseph.
Joseph in the amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Yes.
Something else.
Oh, bye, bye, by Birdie.
I sat on my mom's lap and did a puppeteer act for friends on FaceTime.
Oh, yes.
Oh, yes.
Oh, yes, they both.
Oh, yes, they both.
Reach for the gun, the gun, the gun, the gun, the gun.
Oh, yes, they both reach for the gun for the gun.
Understandable.
Understandable.
Yes, it's perfectly.
Understandable
Comprehensible
I don't know
Something like that
Something like that
Something something something about
We just nailed the whole thing
Like something like that
I mean show tunes
It must be in our blood
Because we can't listen to them
And not sing and dance
And perform
Every single night
Anyways it was so fun
Laugh so hard
We laughed so hard
We peed a couple times
It's a couple squirts came out
it was well it was we laughed till we cry we laughed till we cried it was amazing i fell off a chair

the next day we spotted up it was a spa day because it was a rainy day so you had a massage
you had a facial I had a facial you went through all the different phases of that beautiful spa
oh my gosh it was like you walk through so it was like you walk through a shower that puts it's like
really cold mist and you're like and then you walk to the next shower and it like warms you up
and then you walk to the next one and it's freezing cold and like not a
of mist. It's like pouring down on you. And then you get another cool mist and then you go into
the hot tub and then you go into the sauna and then you go into this ice room where you, it does
wonders for if you are one hungover to have anxiety, combo anxiety, or if you just want to feel
refreshed and awake and like clear. It was amazing. And then there's this beautiful pool and everything
was dimly lit with like red and blue lights and oh, it was heaven. It was beautiful. So beautiful.
And that was the perfect day to do that because it was a rainy day.
And then...
Mom goes, I could just stay here all week.
And I go, Mom, you've got the most beautiful lake in front of you outside.
We're not staying in the sauna.
And I'm glad we didn't.
We went out in the rain.
And we don't mean a trickle.
No, it was torrential downpour.
And people were dancing in the streets.
And our server had umbrellas bringing out prosciutto and bread and cheese.
And he was dancing on the couples.
So in the streets as we were looking at the lake and it was just...
It felt like a movie.
It did feel like a movie set.
It did feel like a movie set.
We were like extras on a movie set.
Yeah.
And we were just there drinking wine.
Watching the world go by.
Where we were was so full.
Everybody was just like under the tarp drinking champagne.
And little canopies.
And this family came with this little boy and there was no room.
So they opened the bank across the street and put tables and chairs in there and gave them wine.
And oh my gosh.
And the little boy would come out and dance.
I think you posted him.
I did.
I could live there.
I could live there too.
just wasn't so far away from family.
Well, if you were there, that's part family.
Yeah.
I could do it.
I could live the European lifestyle in a heartbeat.
Oh, it's.
Everybody's so happy.
They are in their jobs.
They're so happy.
Nobody was grumpy.
No, everybody's happy.
Everybody is social.
Nobody's on their phones.
That's right.
But our boat day did get canceled because of the rain.
That day.
But they pushed it to the next day, which was a beautiful day.
It was sunny.
It was a little chilly to begin with
And then the sun came out
We had our little boat outfits on
Little scarves over our head for the wind
And we got to see
George Clooney's house
Where they film Succession
Where they filmed Star Wars
And another one
Oh and the most beautiful churches
For weddings
Oh yeah I want to get married there
I wonder if I'll ever get married
I wonder too
They say third time's a charm
That's the same.
We had a really sweet guide again.
Oh, my God, our boat guy.
He was kind of cute, too.
Yeah, he was.
He was Italian.
They're all cute.
They're all cute.
But yeah, we took a boat, got a whole full, like, three-hour tour, stopped for ice cream and
Prosecco and a little snack.
We had a caprizy salad.
Right on the water.
Got back on the boat.
Now, the boat back was, I almost threw up.
No, I didn't.
I would never.
But I got a sea-sick.
for sure. It was like, our driver was like, get in the front. Yeah. And he put the canopy up and he says,
better in the front. And then he kept saying, well, this is really rough.
This is really bad. And again, up and away, God, give me a dollar every time I say up and away company that did this trip for us. They went and made sure we got our money back for that because they said that couldn't have been enjoyable on the way back. And I was like, oh my God, you don't have to do that. It was really sweet.
Well, that was very sweet. But it was part of the adventure. Yeah, it kind of was. Yeah.
Yeah.
It kind of was.
And then we just again went back, played cards, had dinner.
And he took us by Bay.
With Wells, Italian Wells?
Bellagio.
Bellagio.
There is, that's where the real Bellagio is.
Yeah.
originated.
But yes, then we went and changed again.
Yeah.
And had dinner with Wells and.
With Wells.
And the orchestra.
I kept calling it.
I told him.
I was like, you're Italian Wells.
He's like, I don't know what you're talking about.
And but then when we showed him.
Oh, he was like, that does look like me.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We showed him a picture of Wells.
I got a show.
Well's that. That's so funny. Dean and Kaelin, do you see their wedding pictures? Like Mountain
Sheek wedding. I was like, okay, that too. Like, congratulations to them. Everyone looked so
stunning. It was such a, like, I was like, that's how you do it. Yes. Looks perfect. It kind of made me wish I was
friends with them. I was like, damn, I would have loved to be there. No, I'm friends with everybody,
but not that close, but it looked absolutely stunning. I'm happy for them. And congrass to charity,
getting the only eight of the first night
I didn't get eight
I didn't get any eight
until my first night
I got all sevens
I was so proud of her
oh I had goosebumps for her
I was so happy for her
she did so well
I love seeing at the beginning
you go oh no
how's this going to go
and then they come out there
and you're like oh shit
yeah everybody did so good
they really did
well that last guy
oh I went to snooze land
for that one
I felt bad for him
but he had an experience
and I think he knew
he'd be going home first
he got a nice paycheck
don't feel sad for him
Well, and speaking of congratulating people, congratulations to Becca and Thomas.
Oh, my gosh.
Yeah, they had their little baby.
Aw, and they just seem so sweet and happy and cute and I want that.
I'm happy for everybody.
We're just so happy for everybody.
Yeah, I am.
I just love seeing all my friends get married and have babies.
No, I do.
I really do.
I really do.
Then we went home.
And by home, I mean, we went, Lake Como, drove to Milan, flew to Paris.
three hour layover, flew to Atlanta, flew to Nashville,
24 hours from start to finish, but we made the best of it,
even though you had garlic on the plane and she was shaking and like almost
going to throw up. And I'm trying to play it cool.
Yeah, you were not. And she kept saying, well, what's wrong? What's wrong with you?
I said, well, I don't want to alarm you. I don't want to alarm you, but.
There was garlic in the food. I'm like, and it was like the beginning of our flight.
I'm like, we've got nine hours on this flight.
So I'm scared.
You were really fun to travel with because you're very go with the flow.
You say yes to everything.
You battle.
You battle and rally.
I'm ballied.
I ballied.
You did.
Well, thank you.
Well, I just appreciated every minute of it.
We do.
It was so fun.
Such a gift.
And a gift to spend that week with you anywhere is a gift because we haven't had that.
Well, because it's always like, you know, there's family.
Yeah.
There's always.
You've got a husband.
We've got, I've got a sister.
We've got a dad.
Like, it's always, there's always other people around and we don't get the one-on-one.
But that was like quality time to the maximum.
It was.
And now I want to do something with Haley for that one-on-one time because the kids are always around.
What would you guys do?
Well, Haley would probably like to go somewhere that's nice.
She can put her feet up and read a book and we can play cards.
You live in Mexico.
Well, she'll come to Mexico then, just her.
The kids would be mad.
The kids would be sad.
They would be sad and mad.
But I'd like to have some one-on-one time with her, too.
Yeah.
So we'll see.
Well, and then tell me who had the better trip.
No, there is.
I'm such a one-offer.
It's no competition.
You're so competitive.
I blame you.
Competitive, because in the dance world, I grew up in that and you were like, hey, if you're not number one, you're last.
Just kidding.
Just kidding.
It was not like that.
Just kidding.
But I think that's why I'm triggered by ballet.
shoes five six seven eight
ballet shoes gave you
a blister yeah they sure did
ballet flats they're back
yeah they're back
we didn't put the glasses on
and I didn't get to pick a tooth
for a confession oh shit
what was my confession going to me
turning it back on we're coming back for one second
I can't believe that I was going to forget
we have to pull the tooth oh yeah
pull the tooth I was like why are you talking about pulling teeth
because it might be like pulling teeth to get me
to confess this was I wish
I took a video. Okay.
I don't know. Open it. If you
pick the wrong tooth, you got to confess.
No, you push it. It's a different one.
Ah! Oh, shit.
Why does that scare me? Okay, I'll tell mine.
What was mine again? Oh, I almost
peed my pants.
Okay, we couldn't get the door open.
And I thought I could hold it, and we really couldn't open it.
And there was a little vent on the balcony, not the balcony.
it was like a top of the stairs yeah but it wasn't like a balcony like I wasn't peeing on people
it was a staircase into the ground yes and I there was a little vent and I was wearing a skirt
and I just said I got to go she said it's happening I say no it is well you couldn't get the door
open and I was doing the potty dance and she says oh it's happening I'm saying no no no that's like
one clip on bridesmaids when she's like pulls up and she goes to one of the sewers and like just
starts shit and she goes oh you're shitting in the street and she goes oh you're shitting in the
She's like, I'm really doing it.
Oh, that was me.
That was you.
Yeah.
You peed.
I mean, I could even hear it.
Well, of course you could hear it.
It's not a silent pee.
A lot of phantom pee.
And then it ran down the stairs.
And so then I thought, no, I can't have that.
So I took some water and I took it outside and I washed the steps down.
Then I go to get in and the door was locked.
So I'm ringing the bell.
I'm knocking on the door.
Well, I'm sorry we had a suite and that room was far away from the bathroom where I was
taken off my makeup, nude.
So I had to go walk all around.
Oh, you're so judgy until you get to come to your confession.
This resort.
Wow.
You found somebody to unlock the door.
I did.
I found somebody to unlock the door.
And I go in and you're half naked, taking off your makeup.
And I said, honey, did you not hear the bell?
What bell?
I didn't hear it.
Obviously.
I didn't hear it.
Sorry.
Obviously.
Okay.
Well, even though you didn't get the tooth, you got to tell the confession.
I think we ran out of time.
Okay.
Which night it was.
Oh, it was when we were at Hotel Victoria.
It doesn't matter when I.
Just get to the point.
You didn't say the hotel in.
Oh, yes, Hotel Victoria in Lake Como on the water.
Oh, heaven.
Beautiful.
Yeah.
So we're there.
We'd gone back to change once again.
And we're...
Quick outfit change.
Quick outfit change.
So I changed and changed.
And we're walking down the hall and I felt something riding up.
And I had on, oh, that little navy blue dress with the white stripes.
Yeah.
So I reached up to try and pull whatever was riding up down, but I couldn't find it.
I turned around when I was waiting for the elevator and I turned around and mom's got her dress up to here.
It wasn't quite up to there.
Okay, here.
And your spanks are up here, but another thing's coming down here and you're just like exposed.
You were exposed.
And I'm looking up and there's just a camera right there on right on you.
I didn't think of the camera.
And I'm like, Mom, what if the elevator door opened?
Somebody's in there and you're just like so exposed, spanks and all.
And I am the most private person.
I am not.
Me being nude taking on my makeup is very normal.
Well, and see, you do not get that from me.
No, I'm a nudie, booty.
Love being naked.
So, I mean, I have to hide.
Even when I was dancing, they'd have to hold up blankets for my quick changes because I would not do them in the wings.
Well, what came over you in that moment in the hallway?
I do not.
I thought, no, I just thought nobody's going to see me.
And then you couldn't get it down and then you panicked.
And you know, when you can't get a sweater off and you like get anxiety, you were like panicking and we had to like run back to the room.
And you're like, he he he.
Oh, it would have been a better confession if somebody did see that.
Oh, no.
Hopefully the hotel staff did.
You wanted to go get the footage.
I really did.
Just for this podcast.
And here it is.
I got it.
What?
No, I'm just kidding.
I'm just kidding.
Okay, now we can finish the pod because that's a great confession.
Are you over it?
Do you feel better now talking about it?
I know I'm so embarrassed.
Well, shit happens.
Yeah, well.
Okay.
Well, I had the best time with you.
That was really special, unforgettable, magical, mystical, whimsical, as you would say.
It was all of that.
And I'll never forget it.
Well, I will never forget it, honey.
Well, you know, I get a little teary because I'm just so grateful.
I know.
So thank you.
I know how grateful you are.
It was wonderful.
And I also.
like to if I can, but you can take this out. Oh boy. But I want to thank your vinos for all the
support and love that they've given you. That means a lot as a mother. Yeah. That you're getting
support and you're not alone through this and everybody. You're not alone. I've got family. I've
got friends. Yes. I've got dogs. I've got the big wine guys. I've got the book guys. I've got a
whole team of support. You still have this grinchy guy. The scrunch gang.
You don't even know the simple.
I do.
I don't even remember it.
I forget.
But I mean, you have your people and your supporters, and I'm grateful to them for having
your back and being there for you.
It's nice.
Thank you to everybody.
We're going to be grateful and not angry.
No.
No.
Because I learned in therapy that my sadness comes out as anger, and that can be a whole other
episode of Off the Vine.
Thank you, Mom.
Thank you, honey.
I love you.
love you. You didn't even drink your wine. Oh, cheers. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers to everybody.
Cheers. And, uh, happy fall. Pumpkin spice. What kind of spice? Pumpkin. Oh, I thought you said.
Fucking spice. I'm Caitlin Bristow. Your session is now ending.
And if I'm being honest, I wouldn't mind a rating and review.

Two sisters, one, a respected TV producer, the other was disabled, nearly blind and deaf.
Jill and Wendy Blackstone lived together, rescued dogs together.
Jill was her best friend, her sister, her, everything.
But the sister bond was broken the day Wendy and three rescue dogs were found dead in a garage next to a toppled over barbecue grill.
Jill said accidental carbon monoxide poisoning killed her sister in the dogs.
Detectives don't believe her.
Police arrested Jill Blackstone for the murder of her sister.
Investigators think it was staged to look like an accident.
So what happened?
A source has come forward with evidence never made public before,
revealing the dark story of why Wendy Blackstone really died.
Jill was a good producer.
There's no doubt about that.
But would she produce murder is the question.
