Starting point is 00:00:00 Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story. Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge, there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice. And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am. It's not just any audiobook. This is a full cast performance. So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry, brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
Starting point is 00:00:25 And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads sing is Mr. Darcy. And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything. Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix. Talk about a dream cast. Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics, and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy. And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels so fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.
Starting point is 00:00:58 So whether it's your first time experiencing Pride and Prejudice or you've read it a million times, you're going to fall absolutely in love all over again. So go listen to Pride and Prejudice now at audible.ca slash Jane Austen. Who's on with OTV? Podcast One Presents Off the Vine, Great Therapy. Caitlin Bristow's going to answer your question. Drink to your concessions and hear what you have to say about anything Bachelor. Let's shake it up some more. Here's Caitlin. Happy Thursday, Vino's. Welcome to Grape Therapy. Your session, you know what? It's starting right now.
Starting point is 00:01:40 Today is an exciting day. I feel like I'm announcing the birth of my first born child, but it's actually the birth of my new OTV intro. Same, same, I'm sure. Today you will learn who the winner of my Off the Vine intro contest is and get to hear from them beyond being super talented and the self. proclaimed super fans. These ladies are so freaking funny. I feel like I could be friends with them in real life and both have the most hilarious confessions. It's perfect. I laughed. I didn't even read my notes because I was just having such a great time with them. We're one big happy family now together as voices of the pod and I can't wait for you to hear the winning entry, which yes, you bet I will play for you later in this episode. So get ready for something fresh. Fresh. Also, Did you see my new Off the Vine cover image?
Starting point is 00:02:28 A little chaky spin on the last one, but updated with my brunette hair and a bigger wine glass. Because yes, a whole new little OTV brand rollout to go along with the new intro and I'm feeling charged up about it. But with the new, we must reminisce on the old. And I'm going to take a little walk-down memory lane with the pod. I share some memorable guests, some all-time favorite moments and a few life lessons. I've been so lucky to learn from those who join me week after week to share all of their
Starting point is 00:02:54 knowledge, passion, heart, honesty, and of course, humor with me. I feel like I'm such a lucky lady. Every time we get to podcast or reminisce, I'm like, God, I'm lucky. And also we had to keep in Bree's voice in the intro with wine, lots of wine. So listen for that because I just couldn't not have her in it. Okay, so I hope you're ready. It's great therapy time. that Jason might come in here in, I don't know, he is having a full-blown panic mode. As you guys know, he is terrified of needles, just terrified. And he has to get his second vaccine today. So I'm going to go with him.
Starting point is 00:03:39 You know I'll probably document it. So you'll see it at one point or another on my social media. I feel sorry for him in some way just because I don't want to ever see him uncomfortable. But in another way, I'm like, dude. I mean, I can't say anything. I'm afraid of birds. So who am I to judge people who are afraid of needles? It kind of makes sense. Also, you guys, I almost feel like I need my own shame meter right now because I had a freaking weekend. Like, I looked at Jason at one point and I was like, dude, I'm 35. I'm supposed to be an
Starting point is 00:04:12 adult. It's just crazy because Nashville is so open. I mean, Tennessee in general has just done an incredible job at doing the rollout of vaccines, making things safe. We always go to like patios or places with open garage doors. And it's just, I had a weekend. We had friends in from out of town and we took them to a couple of really nice spots. And then we, we just danced in this one bar. It had all of the garage doors open and it was only at a certain capacity and there's live music. And I was like high on life, had a little too many tequila sodas. And it was like, three days in a row that I went out and did something. And I always feel terrible talking about that because I know my friends and family in Canada are just stuck. And I just want to give you guys
Starting point is 00:05:00 all a shout out and say that I think of you in all of those moments. Even if I'm just going to the store, I'm thinking about my friends and listeners and everyone in Canada are people who are still locked up because I know it takes a toll on mental health and no matter who you are, how strong you are. And it's probably anxiety that you don't understand or that you don't even realize it's happening. So I have the most guilt in me for having fun and also a shame meter just because I was acting a fool in a fun way, not crazy. But I'm so sorry. Next time I do that, I'm going to have one for you over there in Toronto. Alberta and everywhere else that's locked up.
Starting point is 00:05:42 Okay, so anyways, let's talk about some of my favorite guests and favorite moments before we get into this new Off the Vine segment because I just wanted to do a refresh of people that inspired me, people that made me laugh, people that made me cry. I think it's cool to reminisce on how much this podcast has changed over the years as well. You know, at first I was definitely just reading off what I would write and I was, I don't know, I've just gotten more comfortable and feeling safe with my listeners. And I know this is such a safe place. And even if I say something wrong, I know, well, I know I'll hear about it. But I'm willing to be better and listen, which I think I've grown in that way. So obviously I just wanted to say,
Starting point is 00:06:23 I just love all of you for always listening. If you, if you haven't, I'm realizing how important it is to rate and review and subscribe and leave comments. Apparently, that really helps me. I don't ever like to be pushy with that. But I mean, I'm a push a little. Grab a coffee and discover Vegas-level excitement with BetMGM Casino. Starting point is 00:07:42 Now back to Off the Vine Grape Therapy. So one person I really wanted to bring up that genuinely changed my life on the podcast was Tune Day. She talked about just living a life in purpose, on purpose, of purpose. She's an instructor from Peloton and just she's, she lost a lot. her past and she gained a lot of strength and purpose and confidence. And I think that whole concept of if you lose something, what do you gain and having that perspective on loss? And no matter what that is, if you lost a partner or an animal, you gained, I mean, I'm just thinking this because low, sweet, sweet low, if anyone out there's listening, please send him a
Starting point is 00:08:28 message and say you're thinking about him. And he lost his precious, precious doogie. And it was just his best friend. It was his companion, but he gained, like, I'm talking 15 years of pure joy from this dog, and that is such an incredible thing. Dogs bring us so much joy. But I really liked this episode with Tunday because I think life is all about perspective right now, and she gave me a great one. The next one that I really want to acknowledge and show some support for is Jeannie Mai. She's someone who is just an electric human being, and she lives with such purpose. And she's just a light in this world. And I got the chance to meet her on Dancing with the Stars. And unfortunately, her journey on Dancing with the Stars had to end. I think she would have been up there
Starting point is 00:09:12 in my competition just because she's a fan favorite no matter where she goes because of her personality. And she was really good at dancing. So she had a disease in her disease, a sickness. I don't know what it's called. It's like Epiglottis or something in her throat while on Dancing with the Stars she had to drop out, which was awful. But Jeannie explained in this episode that her family helped house immigrants from Vietnam when she was young, how it shaped her into the person she is today before discussing the incredible work she does to actually stop human trafficking as well. It just felt like a really powerful podcast, and I love her voice. I mean, both, you know, the sound of her voice and the voice that she has and the power that she has behind it.
Starting point is 00:09:52 She really tries to make a difference in this world. And I know she's doing a lot with stop Asian hate and a lot with, again, sex trafficking. So she was one I really, really enjoyed having on the podcast if you got a chance to listen to that. Another one that I love that was just a really great laugh was James Murray, aka Murr, from Impractical Jokers. He's just one of my favorite individuals on Impractical Jokers. If you guys haven't seen that show, it makes me belly laugh. It helps me sleep sometimes.
Starting point is 00:10:23 It puts me in a good mood. It's great for anxiety. It's just four guys who met in like college or I don't know if it was high school or college. But they pull pranks on each other and other people in the streets of New York and make it a TV show. And it's just absolutely comical. So I just have to remind everyone of this episode because James Murray said, I can come on impractical jokers. He said it on the podcast. He tweeted it after.
Starting point is 00:10:51 And I just wanted to remind everyone that that is out in the universe and I will hold him to it. And then even if you have heard this podcast from September. 24th, 2019. Please listen again. It's just with my fellow Canadian Brett Kessel country music star. And we talk about our experience of shooting our music video together, but Brett really tells a story beautifully about a long goodbye he had with his wife, Cece, and another person in Vegas after a night out. And just the way he tells the story or listening to him talk in general, any podcast I do with him, it's always easy. It's always entertaining. And I always leave feeling so good. It's just he just has something about him that makes people feel good. And the way he tells this confession is unlike any I've ever heard. Well, until Lowe's, but you know what I mean. Those are just some of the podcasts I like to reminisce on. But I do encourage you to go back if you're all cut up. on the podcast and listen to ones from back in the day, if you will, just because I don't know, some of them are real feel-good episodes. Maybe you remember the ones that you enjoyed or that you walked away from feeling something and take a listen. I feel like nobody's commuting as
Starting point is 00:12:16 much as usual, but I just like to put on a podcast while I clean while I do laundry, just any time of my day where I can just have something in my ears while I'm, you know, being productive at the same time. So I just want to thank you guys. and thank you for your continued support and I hope you enjoy the next 30 minutes with these. I'm not even going to tell you, you have to hear it.
Starting point is 00:12:38 All right, Vino's I was so impressed and seriously, actually just really touched with all of your OTV intro contest submissions. Honestly, so many of you poured your little hearts and souls and spade and sparrows wine into them and the creativity, the commitment and work that all of you put into
Starting point is 00:12:54 your entries was just beyond. I wish I could pick all of you as winners but unfortunately, I had to pick just one. The winners turned out to be someone you may already actually know. They submitted four and won my, if I'm being honest contest last year. Stacey and Kayla from I have to call my sister podcast, my super fans. No, they're family now. I truly wanted to give someone else the winning title,
Starting point is 00:13:17 but honestly, these ladies are just next level and so talented and so extra, and they were the only ones who strategically built in Bree's voice saying wine, Lots of wine, which I had said in my stories a couple of times that I really wanted to keep that in. And so, you know, I'm always down for a remix or a rap. Also, they're Canadian. It's just a bonus. Nobody have hurt feelings, okay, because it was really hard for me to pick just one. So I chat with them about how they came up with the idea, how stoked they are to win. And they have, wow, a confession that is up there next to Lowe's. So you know it's on a good level there. So I hope you enjoy Vino's and thank you all so much for your submissions. Here it is.
Starting point is 00:13:58 Hey, everybody. You're listening to Caitlin Bristow's podcast, Off the Vine. Take it away, Bree. Wine. Lots of wine. Hey, be on the mic, turn it up. Let's go. Hey, ramen, Pino, ready for the show.
Starting point is 00:14:11 Everyone's welcome. So come on in because OTV, it's about to begin. Hey. Ladies, we meet again. We meet a Caitlin Bristol. What that? heck you guys like mic friggin drop um you guys
Starting point is 00:14:30 did it again what are you going to do with all of your trophies I want a trophy give us one I should actually make you guys a trophy just so we like a Caitlin Bristrode trophy wall we will we'll have a full wall of you need one more actually you need one more
Starting point is 00:14:48 so you can like put it on a podium and have like one at the top one middle and then one at the bottom get on your next trifecta contest yeah whatever And then we'll get on it. Yeah. Seriously. I can believe it.
Starting point is 00:15:00 You guys are winning. No, I feel like I'm like cheating the system because I'm like, but you guys are just so good. I had so many frigging cute intros to listen to and I was dying because I actually got emotional listening to a bunch of them because I'm like, hey, this is just crazy. People are so good and it's so sweet and everyone took so much time to do it. But you know, it made the best woman win. Best woman.
Starting point is 00:15:24 I haven't even had a sip. And I was like, yeah. We weren't worried about that, though, because we were like, see, this is a thing. We were like, do we look crazy if we enter again? We're like, we can't enter again. But then when we read the description, we're like, it's literally made for us.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Like, that's my job. I love writing songs and making jingles. And Kayla and I do this all the time. So we're like, well, if we're going to, if we're going to do. it again we better make this one good yeah we're going to commit with the like yeah yeah we're going to commit to the losers entering all of gaitland bristol's contest and we did and uh-uh i love it look it paid off it did i'm losing i'm losing my mind over here because hey can you guys stop i got a spray tan earlier today and i don't wash them off till like the next day and my
Starting point is 00:16:20 dogs just keep licking everything off my legs and my feet and i'm just going to have like dog tongue streaks just dog time okay we literally like see this is where I was like should we just tell her okay so we were like because it's like like a like a little bit later than we're like let's just go on Instagram live and like do a thing and we put this filter on that we thought was going to look like so we look because we both just put a self tanner on yesterday and my dog has also been licking it off and we went on Instagram and it like amplified our self tanner but like in the blotches that secretly are there that we can't see because the makeup is up. Yeah. The filter
Starting point is 00:16:57 really amplified it. So we were laughing so hard and now we're in this giddy mood because we can't, we were just full like full crying like five minutes ago. Okay, I know. What filter was it? Because I feel like that happens to me all the time. If I try and put a filter on when I have a fresh spray tan, I'm like
Starting point is 00:17:14 oh gosh, like something amplifies retro cam. Was it retro cam? I don't even know. Probably. We were clicking through them just dying. Like we were dying last. that's so funny apparently you were just in like traffic you got your COVID shot like you are like you're like I'm home and gonna talk to these girls like I feel like this is too much today no it's okay I like being busy and especially if there's so much going on in a day I get home and I don't I like to relax later but if I get home and I've just done a bunch of things like I'm still buzzing so I'm like
Starting point is 00:17:46 yeah let's work um but yeah I was in traffic it's pouring rain here it took me like 45 minutes to get home from this appointment. That should have only taken me like 20 minutes to get home. Every time I pulled around to another freeway, because there's, I mean, Nashville's set up so weird, but there's so many different pockets and so many different highways. And I kept pulling on and my ways would be like, hazard reported ahead. Hazard reproute because there's a hazard reporter. And I was like, nobody can drive in Nashville. So. Yeah. Did you know you can change your ways voice to the, have you ever heard the boy band one who I've now named Christopher? Turn left.
Starting point is 00:18:25 And he goes, Hazard reported a head. I've done that. That's so funny. I do it all the time. It never gets old. Jason and I did that.
Starting point is 00:18:38 Like, I'm talking two and a half years ago we put it on. We were driving from Chicago home. And I was like, boy band. And so I put it on. And we just, every time it was so, what's another one? He goes, all set. Let's hit the road. Start driving. It's my favorite.
Starting point is 00:18:57 You ready? I am star driving. And now I harmonize with him in the car. So he'll be like, turn left. I'm like, turn left. Like, oh, wait. Hey, man, turn right. I know. I do it all the time. I love that you know that because did you see me nodding my head? I knew before you even said it. I was like, yes. Yes, I did know there's a boy band on ways that you can put like I just knew it's so bad and I've called him Christopher I always forget that that's not his real thing but like I feel like his name is
Starting point is 00:19:28 Christopher that's a good one Christopher I see I pictured more of like a zane because I was picturing boy band and then I thought of one direction and then I thought of the hottest one direction and then I was like oh it's same but he's kind of not the greatest boy band member I would say like he doesn't white sing on tune yeah yeah he is always slightly the opportunity kind of is a little bit excited like he's like the chris kirkpatrick of the group that was so mean of me oh my gosh i feel so bad i like did a top golf event and chris kirkpatrick from n sync was like golfing and he's fabulous and he's a huge bachelor fan and him and his wife and i just dissed him i'm joking chris we're joking he's like she's like you're reading him
Starting point is 00:20:13 you're like ruPaul you're doing that means you like them the best yeah exactly That's exactly what I was doing. This is Off the Vine, Grape Therapy. Okay, tell me, first of all, about this intro, how you guys, how long did it take you to do it? Well, remember we had, like, different versions of it because what we did was, so the, the, the music behind it, I was able to use because it's my, my song. So I was like, great. So we have this, this music. I'm like, we need, like, a house.
Starting point is 00:20:47 high energy kind of thing. And I remember, you used one of, like, you're like, let's use this song. I was like, no, Caitlin needs something more intense. You said hype. Yeah, like she's like, she got her biggest hype song. Yeah, I'm like, okay, let's find this biggest hype song that we have. So then we did that. And then we were like, well, since Kayla's been a fan of your podcast for so long, even before
Starting point is 00:21:06 me, she was like, she's the first one that speaks. So she says, hey, everybody, you're listening to it, whatever. So Kayla, Kayla drops the first ball. Then we were like, oh, we need. Bree's wine lots of wine like that was the drop in like the DJ drop we thought that was like the funniest thing and you and you said that that you wanted to keep that in so it's like we got to do it that's what I was really impressed with is because I remember I'm like oh I really want to keep because she's my best friend and I was like I love that that she's my voice in the opening and
Starting point is 00:21:35 that's kind of her job but I like switching things up and I'm like but I still want to keep her in so when you guys kept her and saying that I was like yes well and that was my favorite thing because that would be weird to just like say peace out Bree you know what I mean And we're like, we need to give her a feature. Take it away, Bree. Wine. Lots of wine. We're like, okay.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Bree, she's in it. She's part of the crew now. And then we did a couple versions of the rap. And I remember I'm like, we're obsessed with our dogs just like you are. And I don't even know if you could hear it. Maybe you'll hear it when you get like the good version or whatever. But they're like, I put like golden retrievers barking in it. So it goes, hey, ramen, Pino, ready for the show.
Starting point is 00:22:12 Ro, bro. There's like a full. There's a full. and I made sure to get I did hear this. And I was like, I would want that because we love our dogs. And I remember when we were listening to it, like I have a golden retriever Wally and he like when that part came, he was like, yeah. So we were like
Starting point is 00:22:32 we just, we had to include them in it too because we know how much we love our dogs and we know much of eat. So we're like, okay, if we can get like a like a, you know, cameo appearance from ramen and Pino as well. Like I also was like like a loser. I also looked for your, your Instagram to try to find them real barking. It was too much.
Starting point is 00:22:51 I was like, I'm like, I just search golden retriever. Finally, I just search golden retriever because I was like, this is too much. Like, you know what I mean? I appreciate the effort on that one because that's, that's next level. It's an actor we've hired to be ramen and pinot basically, but. Yeah, they, they're, they've studied the ramen and pinot bark in their days. And this, they've been waiting for this moment and this is their time to shine. And they did.
Starting point is 00:23:15 That's so good. It's so funny, too, because the dogs are always, I mean, one's right here, one's right there. They're always beside me while I'm podcasting wine. I love it. It was absolutely perfect. It made me so happy. And I was like, oh, shit, they went again.
Starting point is 00:23:31 Well, we appreciate so much that you, that you did that because we did, like, we're like, if we're going to do, that's the thing with us, even in our podcast, like, if we are going to do something, we're like, we don't mess around here. So when we put the effort and we truly do. So we appreciate that you, like, you know, acknowledge that, saw it. Now we're in the intro. So we love it. You're damn right.
Starting point is 00:23:54 You are well deserved. I'm so pumped. You guys are amazing. I'm excited to come on your podcast. I know. Tell me what to expect. Like, what do you guys do on the podcast? Oh, get ready, Caitlin.
Starting point is 00:24:06 Yes. Yeah. No, we are like we're all about me tell confessions. So get ready for that. Yeah. And it's all about body positive. and Stacey in the show biz and I'm a mom and I've got two boys and it's a it's but with you we're doing something completely well with you we actually like have questions that we just always
Starting point is 00:24:26 wanted to ask yeah and like keep yeah like the normal you know like not the we are our podcast is full of just like I guess when somebody listens to it they feel less weird because we just like tell it like it is and then if they think we're weird they usually feel better after because they're like hey I do that too or whatever you do that on your podcast as well. But we basically like, yeah, you're so weird. And that's why we like you. Because, you know, I think when we first started out, we're like, we have to try to act like cool podcasters. And then two seconds in, we're like, like laughing too loud. Yeah. And we're like so obnoxious. And we're like, you know what? This is where our podcast is. So it's going to be really,
Starting point is 00:25:08 it's going to be really fun. We're going to ask you some candid questions. Lay some game. We love playing games on our podcast. So yeah, that's what we'll be. Good. Same. I love that you guys do confessions. I mean, I know we'll do it on yours, but do you have any for me right now? I do. Yeah. I do. Okay. We both thought of a confession and I, it's so weird because on our podcast I've said a million confessions. But this one I like thought back to when I was younger and remembered that it happened when I was in grade eight. I had this pair of
Starting point is 00:25:45 pants at that time everybody was wearing like pleather pants and they were like so tight and they were like red plaid pleather pants i thought i looked so good and i was like wait wait let me just ask how what what year were you born uh 87 were you in grade eight yeah grade eight yeah yeah i know the pants you know what is she getting at here she knows the pants i swear that was like an in thing i know exactly and red was like the color for them to be it was it was it was It was like that slippery kind of material, which matters in this confession. So I remember whenever I dressed up at school, I thought like I always, I would like stand a different way. Like I thought I looked like so cool.
Starting point is 00:26:26 So I was like sitting kind of like like my legs open on this like like ledge. And my friend was like, hey, you have a hole in your pants. And I looked down and my vagina lips were like like just literally like the thing is because the pants were so tight. and the material is so firm, there was one slit down the middle, and it was pushing them both out in the most dramatic way. And I remember me like, oh, my God. And like, he was just too casual that you have a hole in your pants. I looked down, see full vagina lips.
Starting point is 00:27:02 And I was like, he probably had never seen a vagina before. So he thought, like, that was part of the pants. Like, that was the material underneath. That was the whole. It was shocking. I don't think that. And the thing is, how in the hell did I not notice that? But I think it's because you were too in the zone.
Starting point is 00:27:18 And the pants are so tight. I must have just thought, oh, they kind of feel uncomfortable right now. But it was like out the middle. And I was like, like, so it was like the opposite of a camel toe. It was like an outwards. Yes. It was an outy camel toe. It was an outy like.
Starting point is 00:27:31 And I'm telling you, like I feel like I have like a nice like down there. But it did not look, not look nice in this moment. And I was like so upset. Not one would. And I went, I called. I remember nanny, our grandma, who's the funniest person ever. I called her. I said, you need to come pick me up.
Starting point is 00:27:45 And then she came and picked me up. And she's like, what's wrong? And I went, this. And I just showed her my lips sticking out. And she was, you went, Lordy left him. That's what she said. She always says that Lordy left him. She's like, Lordy left him.
Starting point is 00:27:59 I said, take me home. And then, yeah. And I, I, wait, what do you call her nana? N-N-N-N-N-Y. And nobody knows her real name. All my friends just call her nanny. And she's like a star on our podcast. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:28:12 Can she come on my podcast? She tells people that she's psychic. but she only ever gives horrible news. She'll be like, I have a vibe. This is her voice. I can do a good impression, right? She's like, I have a vibe about you. Don't get in a car ever again.
Starting point is 00:28:29 And I'm like, maybe. She's crazy. And tell her, like, she just told us not to watch out on the toilet. Oh, because she said, yeah, she said right now it's a thing that people are just like tossing in, like, like snakes and ferrets. She said ferrets, snakes, and fish. Watch out every time you go to the washer.
Starting point is 00:28:50 And I'm like, it's your time you have to look for ferrets in the toilet. Like, she's like, you know. Is that a thing? Apparently, according to nanny. Oh, so she's not like really telling you news she should be worried about. She's making it up. No, no, no. She believes it.
Starting point is 00:29:07 Because she saw on the news, this is what she'll do. She saw on the news that one time in Australia, there was a snake in a toilet. next thing you know the story has changed you in Toronto everyone has snakes coming up and then like she sees a ferret and she goes oh and ferrets you got to watch out for them and we're like nanny you're like you had me at snakes but the ferrets and she said fish but don't worry about the fish because they're not harmful we're like what anyway she's the best like you'll never not be entertained with nanny it's crazy wait that's amazing I should do like a segment
Starting point is 00:29:39 with her called like shit you don't want to know from a psychic it's You have to make sure to edit it just in case she did anything offensive. She had to, our first episode that was marked explicit was the one with her. Yeah. That was the very first one we ever had to mark explicit. That's hilarious. Oh my gosh. That makes me miss my grandma.
Starting point is 00:30:00 I feel like she was actually my grandpa was a hoot. But that's so, I just picture you at school still. I'm not over the vagina. Like, Nanny, can you come pick me up? I'm scared. I was like, and I was like so dramatic. Like, I was like crying. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:30:14 look at me and then I just like show her my crotch and she's like already left and get it in the car I was like and I didn't want to go back to school that's humiliating I know that's a bad one but a great confession you're listening to off the vine race therapy I feel like mine's not go on but it is because you're an adult now okay that's true so I have like I said like two kids they're both seven and five and okay at the beginning of COVID, Justin Bieber was like doing this thing where he was like doing lives and like accepting like fans to come in and talk with him. Yeah. I have like on our podcast we talk about it a bit. Like I have this like weird thing with celebrities. Like I really am like a big fan. Like your star shot.
Starting point is 00:31:00 With everyone. Yeah. So Justin Bieber was accepting all these fans and I for some reason was like, I know I can make this happen. I can get this was like literally last year. And so I would like. I remember what he was doing this. But there'll be millions. I tried to get on. There would be millions, maybe like, like, 50 million people in the live. And I would, like, do my hair and, like, makeup. And I
Starting point is 00:31:26 would, like, request to join and sit there for hours, waiting for him to accept me. And then my kids would be, like, like, making noise. I'd be like, God, stop. Like, they'd be, like, I am never going to get in. But I was so certain that I was. It was probably
Starting point is 00:31:42 because, like, it was just a thing. And, like, whatever. But I am 30 years old, like making my children shut up so I can possibly get into Justin viewers life. And what was your end goal? Like, what did you want to say? When the camera came on, what would you have said? I even like, like at one point used my kids because he was like talking about a song and I was like, oh, my kids love that song and they could sing it for you. And then, but I was like telling them to be quiet. And while I'm saying this. And I, but I don't know what I was planning on doing, but I was ready for two hours every night. I was freaking ready. that is so loser. And I was like, how many nights are we talking? Like, he, like, I would say a solid
Starting point is 00:32:19 couple months. Just started. I thought you were going to be like, you know, a couple days. A couple months. And I didn't ever once make it. So, so he would go to live and you're like, oh, got to get my mascara on. And I would just like make sure, but I would do it like, uh, sly enough so that it didn't look like I was like trying. So I would just like kind of like, like the messy hair and whatever and then I'd be and like I'm very strict with like video games and stuff but like I'd be like I'd play in a video game because I wanted to just be on so bad I was a cycle I was insane that I'm sad for you that you didn't get on people that would get on would just be like hey Justin and I'm like what this is too casual so I'm like it's got to be a
Starting point is 00:33:06 setup or something I had a lot of time to process maybe they had to be like screened or something first. Obviously, because I tried it every day. I can't believe that is so, like, I'm like a little bit red for you because I'm like, two months. You're just way more embarrassing than mine because I, mine's not that embarrassing. Yeah. I am, this was like six months ago. I didn't mean, I didn't mean for my vagina lips to burst out. You on purpose put mascara on for Justin Bieber. Like, to probably not bring you on his life. Oh, and at one point, because he was living, like, just, like, 15 minutes away from me at this time because he bought a house in Push Lynch, which is, like, down the street from where I live. And at one way, I tried to use that as well. I was like, oh, I'm just, like, 15 minutes down. I was like, wait, that's stalker vibes. That's weird. I need to stop saying this. But I was, like, trying to be, like, you know, push lynch. Okay, wait, where is the gray area? Like, where is the line of not being a stalker fan and getting ready for his lives for two months? Like, I think I've passed the area.
Starting point is 00:34:09 But here's the thing about Kayla, though, is like, you're not even that big of a Justin Bieber fan. No, it doesn't matter who you are. Like, I almost think of, like, Frankie Munez. Do you know who that is? I don't even care for him. And I, like, like, Melch's in the middle. My dog's skip. And, like, it's just, yeah, I don't know what it is.
Starting point is 00:34:28 And I didn't know that I was Starstruck until I met Frankie Munez. I was like, oh, my God. And I was going to care. Where, what was he doing? The Eaton Center in Toronto just walk around no security. My mind was blown. Yeah. Were people bobbering? No, I was.
Starting point is 00:34:44 You know, you know. I was. I was shocked. You like ran into a Sephora, got your eye mask. Yeah. Just like, yeah. Anyway, it's really embarrassing. And I, like, was never going to admit it. But now here I am. On the KB's podcast.
Starting point is 00:34:58 It's a million fans. Well, so funny. That is, yeah, clearly he needed some security with, with you. There are other KBs out there, though. Oh my gosh. That's so good. I love your guys confessions. My brain is actually kind of questionable. I had appointments like so many days, so many days this week that I thought were other days and I kept showing up for the wrong ones like when it was clearly in my calendar and I'm just- Did you feel this way before COVID though? Because I was just talking to my friend about
Starting point is 00:35:32 this. I feel like it just started when COVID started. Like you're just, because you don't know what day you did anymore. It has made us all done. Yeah. Yeah. Everything's just We are all dumber for have been quarantining for this. 100%. You guys are back on a lockdown too, right? Yeah. That's all we have to say about that. That really sucks.
Starting point is 00:35:51 I feel like Tennessee, I have a lot of complaints about Tennessee in certain areas, but when it came to the vaccine rollout and how they've done and how many people have done it and how they're slowly opening things back up, I'm like, if everyone could just do it this way, that would be great. I know. You just got your vaccine, right? I did. Yeah. I got my first one. I feel a little weird today, like sleepy. Actually, very sleepy this morning. And then I went into like energized mode where now I'm almost like, I almost feel like it's too much. And then I have like heart palpitations. But I think it's because I also had a lot of coffee today. So I'm not going to blame the vaccine because I'm hashtag blessed to have gotten one. So I'm not going to complain. And now you're talking to us that are like the most hyper people you've ever met. Great. But I match. I match. I match. I match.
Starting point is 00:36:39 people's energy maybe that's what it is i which which i like doing like because usually people i find have to try and match mine or if they don't it's weird but i feel like we're on the same way with energy so it's great um that was a really weird um to hear that oh anyways uh okay so thank you guys so much i'm so pumped to have you as the voice of the podcast we are now at that next level of friendship it's very intimate we're you know a family now and thank you for leaving in there because I really want to have that.
