Starting point is 00:00:00 Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story. Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge, there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice. And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am. It's not just any audiobook. This is a full cast performance. So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry, brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
Starting point is 00:00:25 And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads sing is Mr. Darcy. And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything. Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix. Talk about a dream cast. Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics, and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy. And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels so fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.
Starting point is 00:00:58 So whether it's your first time experiencing Pride and Prejudice or you've read it a million times, you're going to fall absolutely in love all over again. So go listen to Pride and Prejudice now at audible.ca slash Jane Austen. We're on with OTV. Podcast One presents Off the Vine, Grace Therapy. Caitlin Bristow's going to answer your questions. Drink to your confessions and hear what you have to say about anything Bachelor. Let's shake it up some more. Here's Caitlin.
Starting point is 00:01:30 So let's take a quick pause to talk about our hearts. Ramen, you're listening. I'm talking about you. There are hundreds of thousands of podcasts out there. Podcasts about things like true crime with some hot, mysterious man who turned out to be a doctor, who embezzled and lived a double life. You're supposed to hate them, but you kind of love them, right? Maybe it was a little tea spillage from one of my guests that got the old heart dancing. Either way, I don't blame you.
Starting point is 00:01:58 for binge listening to juicy content that leaves your heart racing. But the American Heart Association wants podcasts to help get your heart racing in a different way. Like the kind of heart racing that's actually good for your heart, you know, by like moving while you listen. So next time you listen to a podcast, my podcast, go for a run, even go for a walk, do a lunge or two, getting your heart rate up for 30 minutes a day, five days a week could literally change your whole life. So make moves at heart.org. We'll be right back with more off the vine, grape therapy. Now back to off the vine, grape therapy.
Starting point is 00:02:37 All right, welcome to this episode of grape therapy, spade and sparrows therapy. I've got the rosé going. I've got Jason with me and ramen. And I'm so excited because today I had a phone call with a dog medium, which is a thing. And she's like, I don't even know how to describe her. First of all, I need to figure out her name so I can give her a shout out because she was sweet. She had no idea who we were.
Starting point is 00:03:09 She's like an older English lady with a very strong accent. And she was like, okay, and now tell me again your dog's name. And I said, Rahman. And she said, and about how old is he? She goes, I know you rescued him from bunnies buddies. because that's how we got this free phone call is if you rescue the dog from Bunny's Buddies, you get to have one call with this medium.
Starting point is 00:03:35 And so I've been waiting. So is this real quick? So is this a friend of Buddy's Buddies or like? No. It's just something they believe. Like explain more about the background. The background is Amanda. Amanda who runs the organization Bunny's Buddies buddies.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Okay. She had a phone call with this lady and got so many. I don't know. Good vibes, energy readings. And validations and everything. Okay. From this reading that she, because she was kind of at first probably thinking the same thing,
Starting point is 00:04:07 everyone's thinking like, ha ha, a dog medium, okay, you can just talk to your dogs. And I think she probably went into it with that same attitude. And she was mind blown by some of the things this lady had said.
Starting point is 00:04:16 And again, this lady didn't know her from a hole in the ground or anything about her dogs. And Amanda has five. And she was able to connect with one that had passed on. and Amanda showed me, Amanda was like, is there any way that Pickles is still with me? And this lady said that he watches over her.
Starting point is 00:04:37 And that night in the sky, I know this sounds crazy, but there was like a golden retriever face in the clouds. And she took a picture and she sent it to me. And I was like, what? That is a golden retriever in the clouds. All right. And so you and I, we've already established, we are yin and yang, but we fit together,
Starting point is 00:04:53 Ying and yang. Yeah. But we fit together perfectly. I like to call us the yingiest and the yangiest. Yes, but it goes together perfect. So I'm clearly, you're definitely more of like a believer in this. And I'm definitely more of a skeptic. So my question is going into the phone call.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Yeah. What does she know about you? Does she know about the dog? Like what information does she have? She didn't even know your name. Okay. She knows that I rescued a dog. She has no idea.
Starting point is 00:05:20 I don't even think this lady's on Instagram. And you said she was English, right? Yeah. Does she live in the States, you know? I don't know. Okay. And basically, you can ask her questions. Like, I'm so mad at myself because I meant to ask what was his past life.
Starting point is 00:05:36 I forgot. But I asked other questions like why he cries in the middle of the night. Okay. I asked if he's in pain from his surgery. I asked if he knows that this is his forever home or if he still thinks he's going somewhere. I asked if he really enjoyed flying with me or if he feels stressed out. And I asked all these questions. All right. So I'm big chronological guys. So we know the stage. So how does like when you have a phone call with a dog medium, how does it even start? Like what's the conversation? Like how do you get into it? Well, I asked her a few questions about herself like what she specifically does. And then let me just actually show you. I took a little recording.
Starting point is 00:06:15 And while you're doing that, I think it's important to know. So I couldn't make this. So this is the first time. I've heard a little bit about, but I don't know what was said. I know nothing. So this is the first time, Kate, like telling me all. about this. So we saved it. I was like, do you want me to tell you? And he was like, should we podcast? And I was like, yes, content creator. Yes. You're like, I've trained you well. Honey. Okay. So I don't know if you'll even be able to hear one because of her accent, too, because
Starting point is 00:06:39 it's over the phone, but I... And so, it might seem crazy. Nope. It's pretty much we do it all the time. So you might become friends and they call that kind of thing. But basically, we're using the skill that we might put it out as a coincidence, that's funny thing. So I talk to the animals.
Starting point is 00:06:55 And so it would be as much about with Amanda, as you can't really know. And so often I'll kind of start with them and I'll look at their types of things that they are, like their character, kind of thing. Okay. So she looks at their face. So I sent her a picture of him. Okay. And I said, this is him. And she said he's an angel.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Right away. And she said. That's what we always say. I know. And she said that. So first of all, she explained what she did. And then she came and she said, okay, what would you like to know? And I said, I want to know if he knows that we saved him.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Okay. I want to know if he's happy here, what we can do to make him happier or more comfortable. Does he know this is his forever home? Does he enjoy flying with me? Why is he still having accidents in the house when he knows better? Because he's smart. Does he like being in training? Because some dogs really thrive in training and golden retrievers love to be obedient.
Starting point is 00:07:50 What are his favorite activities? All this stuff. Wow. Okay, so. And she's, before these questions come out, all she's seen at this point is just a picture. Yes. One picture. One picture.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Okay. And she said, and she asked me how old and knew his name was ramen. And she said, and what is your partner's name, Jason? And is there anyone else that lives with you guys or any other animals? And I said, no. And then she said, okay, okay, I just need a bit of time to talk to ramen and then I'll be back. And then it was just silence for 10 minutes. It was just silence.
Starting point is 00:08:28 How did she talk to her out? Like it was robbing by the phone? Mm-hmm. Did you FaceTime? Like, no. Just over the phone. And so no silence. And his ears perked up and there was silence.
Starting point is 00:08:37 His ears perked. And just now when I played that clip of her voice before we even started recording, he heard it and came up over. That's true. And I didn't have. I just said, what happened? Yeah. And I didn't have her on speaker for when she talked to him.
Starting point is 00:08:52 Okay. All right. So 10 minutes of silence, what are you doing in this time frame? Like, I have butterflies. I want play by play. I'm scrolling Instagram. I'm checking emails. Just like, hurry up, lady.
Starting point is 00:09:04 I want to know my dog. Okay. And she came back on the phone after 10 minutes of silence. And she said, oh, he is a good boy. And I said, yes, he is. And she said, but he's like really calm. His energy is very calm. And he's a very patient dog.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Both facts. And I was like. And then she said, so I asked him if he knew that he was saved and he said he thinks so. So he thinks he knows he was saved, but he was, he didn't know for sure because he had been, she said he's had a few different homes. Which is true. Yeah. And she said that he really loves us. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:47 But he spends most of his time with me. Which is true. I like, you know, when I fly with him and I'm. I would say percentage-wise, it's probably, of course you go, percentage. No, 65-35. Yeah. Yeah. That's fair.
Starting point is 00:10:03 And she said that sometimes he's in a bit of pain. And she goes, I don't know. She's like, I think it's his right back, right leg. And it is. She didn't know that. Crazy. The picture was just his face. She didn't see his body or anything.
Starting point is 00:10:18 I'm skeptical. Of course. If she had Instagram, I don't think his legs out there. But keep going. Yeah, I mean, it is, but I don't, I really like... I'm sure if you can figure it out. Yeah, probably. Okay, all right, I'm still with it, though.
Starting point is 00:10:29 Okay. And she's hit all facts so far. Yeah, and she said that it aches him a little bit, but only at certain times, and he just needs, once he gets walking and on it, that he feels better and that he just needs to get stronger. All right, guys, I'm pretty lucky to live in a nice neighborhood where bad stuff almost never happens, but a while ago, I don't know if you guys remember, I kept having packages stolen. right off my porch. It wasn't like people were breaking in my house, but I felt violated. It was really frustrating and a little scary to think that sketchy people were at my door. So I ended up getting a PO box. I don't want anyone else to feel that way because it feels good to fear less, especially in your own home. And that's why I'm excited to tell you about Simply Safe home
Starting point is 00:11:12 security. Most companies make home security pretty complicated. Simply Safe makes it very easy. You order today and within a week you'll get everything you need to protect your home 24-7 doorbell cameras so you can see who comes near your door, entry sensors to stop people from breaking in, motion sensors, and more. And I'm not the only one that thinks it's great. SimplySafe is the top choice security system for CNET and more than 3 million people too.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Just go to simplysafe.com slash vine to order today. One more time, that's SimplySafe, S-I-M-P-L-I-S-A-F-E dot com slash fine. Let me just play some of this Just because Yes he is I feel he's very good nature He's very patient And he's just got very calm
Starting point is 00:12:00 But easygoing energy about yesterday You know Wow You know a lot of soldiers Say high for me Just feel like he's more in my own calm And I was like True
Starting point is 00:12:10 He said a bit more And he could show someone On the side But I think I'm the same He had this That more That he's more that nature And it seems like
Starting point is 00:12:18 It's an observer Like you like to watch what's going on And take it all in very true um he said he loved his home with you he said you love him very much and you tell him all the time that he's family now and he gets included in everything and he really loves that so i told him so i told him weird wait when i told when i got him i said you're safe that's what you said yes and i tell him every day that i love him i look him in the eyes and i'm like i want to make sure this dog knows i love him i look at him in the eyes and i tell him i love him every day and i always go does he eat he even know I'm telling him how much I love him. I don't care. I'm going to keep telling him. And she goes, he says you tell him every day how much you love him.
Starting point is 00:12:57 And the observer thing is so true. Like you'll be in a room and there will be multiple people talking like we've talked about this before. And he literally will, once someone's talking, he looks at them. The next person's talking, he looks at them. Like his head moves like he's watching a tennis match and he just observes everything. All right. Okay.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Okay. I asked him if he knew he would say, he said, I think so. He said, I had a scary unpleasant time for one. And then I came here and I love it. But it's so different to how I was thinking before. I also got a client. He said when he first got to sleep, he said he's really tired. He just goes to sleep.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Then after a while, he wakes up and he kind of felt lonely. And he talked about it a bit later as well. Like he gets a little scared and a bit lonely. And he's suddenly like, oh, I'll buy my job. Okay. So he feels lonely and scared. So lately, Rahman has been waking up in the middle of the night. And he was good in his crate.
Starting point is 00:13:44 When we were a crate training him, he never woke up. He just lay in there like a little angel for the whole night. and now we put him in a big boy bed God, he's our child we put him in a big boy bed and he's been crying at like three in the morning and he's like really crying and then I'm like getting all scared
Starting point is 00:14:05 I'm like oh come here come here and I just spoon him and he goes right back to sleep and that's what she said she said as soon as he's in the bed he falls right back asleep because he feels safe. Did you at this point you didn't tell her you didn't tell her that he had issues at night? Yes, sorry.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Okay, so she... Part of my question was, why is he crying the night? Gotcha, okay, okay, so that's good context. But that makes sense. He's waking up, like, lonely. And so she said, I said, can you ask him if he wants... I know I sound so crazy, but I believe in this stuff. And so I said, can you ask him if he feels more safe in his crate?
Starting point is 00:14:38 So she said, yep, I'll be right back. Silence again. For how long? About four minutes. And then she comes back and she said, okay, he said that his crate is uncomfortable. And I'm like, that's so true. He always tries to pull the cardboard out because it's like crinkly and uncomfortable. And she said he likes his crate.
Starting point is 00:14:58 He wants to sleep in his crate because he likes the walls around him and it's familiar. But it needs to be more comfortable and he doesn't want to be locked in. So keep the door open. So here we're going to check back. We're going to do this tonight. We'll bring the crate back down. We'll make it more comfortable. Put some stuff in there, some padding.
Starting point is 00:15:14 And then keep it open. Yeah. And see if he cries. I would leave it open. If he doesn't cry, I'm going to shit myself. Yeah. We're not in the bed, though. Not get, don't shit.
Starting point is 00:15:24 Oh, well, I'm not getting, yeah, yeah, figurative. Right. Not literally. Right. So we'll see about that. We'll make it comfier in there for him. And so, yeah, I was like, she said he definitely feels safe around other dogs and people. What else did she say?
Starting point is 00:15:43 No. And he said, I like to be named Phil for people or dogs around him. who likes that comfort. He said, I asked him to say, well, how do you feel when she gets you on the bed when you've been quiet that she's doing? He said, I feel very safe and love when she does that, and I go straight back to sleep.
Starting point is 00:16:01 I asked what would make them more comfortable, and he said he'd like to know what's going, what's happening when you go out. He said, he'd like you to tell him where we're going because then he understands, and then he'd know what is to expect you to know. Okay, so he's, when we leave, when we leave, or if we even bring him somewhere,
Starting point is 00:16:19 we need to talk to him and tell him we're going here because otherwise he first of all he doesn't understand english okay but i think it's about tone and body language and for real quick for the background when he was trained and he had his whole situation in back life he was in korea so they were speaking korea to him so we're going through a phase right now of him understanding simple things like sit stage but i think it's even just communicating like saying we'll be right back how we do i think he's because we do that we're pretty good at that I think when we take him in a car, we just say we're going here and he'll start to learn those things because, you know, think of other dogs. They know if we're, if you say, we're going to the park, they freak out because they know the word park and they associate it when they go to the park.
Starting point is 00:16:59 So if you start telling him where we're going, because she's saying he's like, are they coming back? Because he's, you know, used to people leaving him. Got it. Okay. What else did I have? So I have a question. Did what I moved in? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:15 And you were reluctant to tell him. me this until after I moved in. You told me there's a ghost in this house. Did that come up? Like, that there's a ghost? I should have asked. Okay. We'll have to have a follow-up meeting with her. Yeah, because I want to ask about his past life and I want to know about if he sees the ghost. And was that, was this pretty much the basis then? Yeah. Okay. And how did it wrap? Like, what's the ending of a conversation like this look like? Talk to you soon? He's very happy. So just like you're going out.
Starting point is 00:17:45 Oh, we're going to something home, whatever it might do. Okay. He said, other than that, I'm very happy here, and they love me so much. He said, I can't believe I've got this of my life is. He said, I was worried it wasn't going to last, and I'm so happy to really know it's my trip of a home. I'm getting goosers. I don't know why. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:04 I don't exactly love that. And I can see him, like, a part of somewhere where I went for us, and there's a few places where you're out playing. They're like, could be a ball on food or something where he's kind of learning to play. He's got a toy at home, but he's still learning with them. So she's saying he went out for like a first play and was learning how to play. Okay. And this just happened yesterday.
Starting point is 00:18:23 Yeah. Okay. And she said he still has some toys. Now she said to watch for this because she said she read another dog. She was reading with another dog and the dog was a rescue. And when the dog finally knew he was safe and this was his forever home, he took his favorite toy and he brought it to the owner to share it to be like thank you and so now i'm like oh god if he brings me his toy i'm gonna lose but he has a favorite yeah but he has a favorite what do you think
Starting point is 00:18:55 his favorite is the pizza okay the pizza no the um sloth he likes the camera the sloth too the sloth i don't know if there's a favorite yet well we'll find out now he's got the tie-dye one we'll find out i don't know are you are you believing so so i think this is the good thing we got to put a pull out there to see what I'm just curious what the masses think I'm just curious if people think if like or tweet like do you but does do you believe in this stuff or not question for you Caitlin have you ever gone to a medium for people in past lives before yeah had run on my podcast and what did what did you think about that you felt it was insane I started crying on the podcast I think it's one of those things is like a skeptic because I am candidly oh her name's Sally by the way I feel like I need to you need
Starting point is 00:19:40 to experience it you need it's one of the those things like if you are skeptic you'll experience it and you'll be like oh shit like that is that's crazy yeah i you know what i really want you to meet monica the medium and have her um do a read on you okay because have you lost anyone significant that like absolutely child i have childhood friends okay um my grandfather family members of course yeah oh yeah i just acted like i didn't even know my dog oh yeah mindy oh my gosh i I used to cry. There was one story.
Starting point is 00:20:15 I was like in middle school. So like kind of old to do this. And our dog had a stroke. And my dad was playing hockey. And I was, oh man, I'm getting like sad. And so the dog had a stroke of me and my mom were home. And we didn't know what to do. So we put the dog in the car and we ran to the hockey rink.
Starting point is 00:20:35 And I'll never forget it. I ran around the rink. My dad's on the bench and I screamed, Dad, get off the ice, Mind. He's dying. Oh, and then my dad like sprints off, undoes all his hockey gear, and we took our dog in, and she did have a minor stroke, but she didn't, she made it through that. She lived pretty long. She lived till 17 and a half.
Starting point is 00:20:57 And she, that's a big German. Big German. You should have asked, you need to set up something with, with this lady, with Sally, because she could. About Mindy, yeah, yeah. Mindy was hit by a cart twice and still lived till seven. What a stroke. Oh, she was awesome. What a badass.
Starting point is 00:21:16 Mandy. My dog's name was Mandy. She was not a badass. She was a tiny little toy poodle, and she slept on my head. I should have asked her about her too, but yeah, it was so crazy. All right, get a load of this. Own iconic luxury items at Unreal Values with the Real Real. A new podcast from WTOP news and podcast one details the heinous murders of a DC power couple, their 10-year-old son, and housekeeper inside their own home. The complicated trail of evidence. She thinks she knows how Darren Wint got inside the house. Oh my God. I saw Amy yesterday. And shocking moments from the trial. His defense team drops a bombshell. Will this investigation lead to the release of confidential audio recordings from the case?
Starting point is 00:23:49 So it's under general counsel review? I mean, I'm committing to making a transparent court. 22 hours, an American nightmare. Subscribe on Apple Podcast Today. This is Austin Vine, Grape Therapy. I also wanted to say, well, let me just see how this. Can I say full circle right here? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:10 I was right. I questioned myself and I was right. All right. It is yin and yang. Oh, it is? It is yin and yang, yes. So. No way.
Starting point is 00:24:18 Yep. Yin and yang. Yin and yang. Wow, I learned something today. There you go. The more you know. So yin and yanging. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:24:27 Okay, let's say what else you said. Right. And does he just love me as much as I love him? Yes. Okay. And he loves Jason too? He does. He loves you well. Yeah. He talks about you in a day. They love you so much. They, day, day. Yeah. He said he said by this time of you. Yeah. But he does love you will and very much so. Yeah. And now I think you might think about his shell a little more, sometimes once they know, it's truly in my home. Yeah. You know, I mean, it's over a few weeks. And so, you know, when they moved around a bit.
Starting point is 00:25:00 So she's saying now that she's communicated to him that this is forever, his forever home, that this, that he'll become more out of his shell. And I'm really, curious because I, so when I asked her about flying, he got nervous because last time, you know, he went on a plane for like 22 hours under the plane, the noises, new family, everything. So she communicated with him that he's my emotional support animal and that I actually, he's not supposed to cause me more stress on a plane that he's there to help me with my anxiety. And he said that he loves that job and that he's going to make me so proud and that now he knows that that's what he's supposed to do. and she said, you will see next flight
Starting point is 00:25:40 that he's going to excel at this. All right, so we have some takeaways here. Favorite toy. We'll see if he excels. He knows he's at home. Let's see the skeptic and the believer. Yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Well, we'll see, too, if he comes out of his show. It is crazy. But on this whole note, talking about rescues and ramen and everything, I did want to say I had talked to Amanda, or who does the buddies buddies. And we had, I'm going to have her on the podcast,
Starting point is 00:26:08 because she had a really sad, tough day the other day, and I wanted to address it and put this out there. And I said I was going to talk about it on my podcast because I think we make this rescue process look really easy. And I don't ever really talk about the hardships of it. And I think what happened was a girl wanted to adopt and she was making this whole cute Instagram story about it. And she ended up rescuing a dog from Bunny's Buddies.
Starting point is 00:26:36 and, you know, she thought it was going to make these great Instagram stories. And once she got him, she had to be, like, talked off a ledge because he humped her dog. And she was like, I don't think this is going to be a good fit for him. And she just panicked. And you can't do that to these dogs because they've been through so much already. And they now are going to one last home when you think you're making them go just through one last hurdle before their life can be better. and you have to be prepared for anything. Rescues are unpredictable.
Starting point is 00:27:11 You don't know what's going to go wrong. You don't know how they're going to react to an environment. And I just want everybody to be super clear on that, that you have to be really invested in helping this dog. So, it's so, Humping is very normal for dogs and they get used to it. It's just, you know, you just can't send a dog back because they humped your dog. No.
Starting point is 00:27:31 And this has been, you know, I think it's a good point, right? We show a lot of the good on Instagram and how cute he is and how he's always smiling. But let me tell you, we are both working our asses off on this dog. We have to take him out, you know, every 30 minutes to an hour training. We're learning how to train. We don't know. It's just constant, constant work. He has accidents.
Starting point is 00:27:53 We work through that. There's a lot going on right. Physical therapy to the vet. We have, I got to work, we're working through vet insurance, health insurance. It's expensive. the right food, when to feed them, how to feed them, who's home. I mean, we're now putting in a big fence in the backyard that wasn't there before. I mean, it's an investment.
Starting point is 00:28:11 There's so many things to go through if you bringing them into another house with a dog who's so used to being the only dog. And there's going to be a lot of really like probably weeks of training and getting used to and the dog's feeling comfortable. You just have to be so committed to this dog that you're rescuing. You have to be committed and realize what you have to invest as far as your emotions, your time, your energy, everything. And like things happen in the travel, too.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Like, Rahman missed his flight. He was really lethargic from surgery. He had accidents inside. He was, he slept for like the first two weeks. Totally. And just like really, really like it was up in the night, getting used to a different time schedule, sleep patterns that needed adjusting.
Starting point is 00:28:54 They go from sleeping on like concrete floors to people, you know. Sometimes people want them to snuggle in bed and they won't. We have a very snugly dog But some aren't like that Some aren't some don't even want to be near humans You know you have to realize what you're taking them away from Think about how much you and I have cleaned this house Like the shedding is crazy
Starting point is 00:29:13 The car has to be You know cleaned every every few days now And they all have PT like Sorry PTSD And we're doing physical therapy for him Which is like that's a commitment Sure And by the way it's still an unknown
Starting point is 00:29:29 We do not know if his leg will ever heal We're doing everything we can But we don't know He might never be 100% He might grow at a young age to have arthritis And yeah you just You just don't know You don't know
Starting point is 00:29:45 But it is without a doubt We love him unconditionally Oh my gosh I can't do anything for him Anything I would give my I won't say It's also honestly It's a good test like in a relationship
Starting point is 00:29:58 You learn a lot about it each other like there are time you know Caitlin's busy she's got to do something so what can i do to help and vice versa right i mean it's a it's a it's work it's work i will say that this people people have said this about having a dog that it can prep you for having children sure and you have been a really good team player oh thank you you are really good at like if he needed to go out in the middle the night you're like i'll do it i'll go out i'll take him out it's my turn uh and you're very just involved and I just like seeing you as a dog dad because I feel like you you are really like the other day when I was so tired remember so were you and you just let me sleep till one that was the most
Starting point is 00:30:38 amazing thing by the way I slept until 1252 p.m. No it was 1.04 was it 104 I thought it was 1252 and I woke up and I was like yes and you took him out and you fed him and you walked him and everything was yeah and that's another thing we can't even really take him on runs or walks on concrete like he has to be on grass because of his hip and it's i don't know i just want people to know that side of it too that everyone out there with dogs that are dog owners you get you guys know all this i think the only reason that we're we're highlighting this and magnifying it is because of some of the feedback we've heard from bunny's buddies and i also wanted to say thank you to the scrunchy gang who also purchased the ramen scrunchy and all the proceeds went to bunny's buddies
Starting point is 00:31:20 and it was over eight thousand dollars wow yeah amazing So that really, really made us happy. Saving one dog at a damn time. Yeah. That's awesome. I was interviewing with Caroline Hobby today, and she's Nashville based. Her husband is in 1,000 horses. And she said, we were talking a lot about the negative of social media.
Starting point is 00:31:39 And then she said, and what's the positive? I'm like, I would have never gotten, like, we would never have a ramen. We probably wouldn't have even met. Probably met each other. You know, like there's so many positives that we need to focus on when it comes to social media because obviously the other day I got really down from you posted that picture with I was in a dress it was a flowy dress just had a huge birthday dinner I think I was on my fourth piece of cake and hi I'm a woman who is about to get her period eating cake on a birthday little bloated and and also like who you know who the flat stomach doesn't it just shouldn't be pointed out if it's flat or not flat and so many comments underneath it were talking about how I have a baby bump and how I have a baby bump and how I have a baby bump and how you know who the flat stomach doesn't it just shouldn't be pointed out if it. how I'm pregnant and I got so hurt by it because I've talked about it on the podcast before growing up with like in a dance studio you have body issues and all the girls are comparing their
Starting point is 00:32:31 bodies from a young age and I always wanted to have a bigger body I didn't like how small I was but then you get told you look pregnant and that hurts too because it's just you know you get you have body people have body dysmorphia I've suffered from that and so I was feeling gross that day already and I'm like you know turn 34 I feel like well I did gain a few pounds That's not a big deal. I actually wanted to gain a few pounds. And, you know, I was already in my own head about it. And when people on the internet point out something that's already something that you're
Starting point is 00:33:01 insecure about, it just kind of validates your insecurities. It's basically saying, like, hey, that thing that you're feeling shitty about, yeah, everyone sees it. And so I got really down on myself. I mean, I let it go after a little while. But I just sometimes, sometimes people are like, and you're one to say, ignore it. And some people are like, focus on the people who love you. And I'm like, I do.
Starting point is 00:33:20 and those are the people that lift me up after a hard time. But I also, everyone knows I like to send up for myself and tell people that that's not okay and words hurt. Absolutely. But I will say that my girlfriend, Aaron Chilor, and you wanted to delete all the comments. Yeah, so that's another yin and yang thing. So we just have different perspectives on this.
Starting point is 00:33:39 I never want to dismiss anyone's feelings, especially yours when it hits a sensitive topic. But for us, you know, we put our lives out there every single day. And with that, we have to understand. the repercussions, there's going to be good, there's going to be bad, there's going to be ugly, and I do think in general the good so much outweighs the ugly. Yeah, I do want to focus more on that. And you know, you got all these people that like the photo and all these people that say beautiful things about you. And I think that highlighting on the negative, in my opinion,
Starting point is 00:34:07 I get the takeaways and I understand your perspective is like, people should stand up and not allow this. And I agree with that. But at the same token, in my opinion, if you're going on someone's page and you're saying that oh what is she pregnant to hurt someone you could only be doing that one because you're hurting or two you want attention yeah and my whole perspective yeah why give them that attention because you look beautiful you look so i don't even see what they're that's bullshit yeah i know honey roasted flavored almonds surracha flavored almonds wasabi and soy sauce flavored almonds do i have your attention why keep snacking on boring chips when you could go to the store and pick up blue diamond almonds right now. Whether you're going to work,
Starting point is 00:34:52 bored at work, leaving work, these almonds are the perfect snack. I honestly have a cupboard full. I have ones in my purse. I have blue diamond almonds in my Jeep. I even found a stack in Jason's office. Best part, I don't hate myself when I eat a bunch like some of those other snacks. What are you waiting for? You know you can listen to this podcast on your way to the store right now don't deny your cravings go pick up some great flavors right now and eat them blue diamond almonds crave victoriously i think my favorite takeaway was i talked to aaron i've had on the podcast many times from raw beauty talk and she said you know anyone would find it hard but it's just not true like so many people say i'm too skinny and then some people oh god she's pregnant in the
Starting point is 00:35:36 same post um you know it's always just people needing something to pick on but she said also who Who cares if your stomach is flat or not? It means absolutely nothing about who you are. And I'm like, and I said, because she wrote me a bunch and I said, that last message is all I needed to hear. That's so true. Who cares? Who cares if they said I look pregnant or if at the end of the day, I'm like, well, if
Starting point is 00:35:59 I am pregnant, that's a blessing. And if I'm not, yeah, I'm a little bloated and that doesn't define me. And why do I focus so much on that body issue rather than like, you know, like, I don't I just needed to hear that. She was like, wait, who cares if you, if your stomach isn't flat? And then I was like, oh, damn it, why is that my insecurity? Why do I care so much about having a flat stomach? It doesn't define who I am.
Starting point is 00:36:23 No, it doesn't. I think we live in. That's not what makes me beautiful. No. And we live in such a cool, progressive world right now that I think what speaks volumes to everybody is what's in between your ears, right? Intelligence will always supersede that shit. And what's between your boobs?
Starting point is 00:36:36 Your heart. I was like, what? Excuse me? Your heart and your head. Those are what? It makes you beautiful. Exactly. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Yeah. What's between your ears and your boobs is what counts? No, that's true, though. Between your nipples. Guys that don't have, yeah. I guess, yeah. You have boobs. Pecks.
Starting point is 00:36:56 Between your boobs and your pecks and your ears. But that's so true. Like, actually, what I really like is when we talk about your celebrity crushes, it's not like, you know, it's not like, oh, that's because she's so hot. You're like, ooh, because she's badass. or, ooh, because she's, like, beautiful without makeup. Like, I feel like he, Ed, I don't know, I respect that. Yeah, and that's, I've been to tie, we were talking about Bachelorette earlier.
Starting point is 00:37:20 That's the one, probably the one takeaway I have is they're doing all these, like, fights and wrestles and, like, these rugby things. I'm like, oh, I want a strong built man. Like, isn't that, I don't know. Yeah. Are we done with that? Like, you know, to me, what attracts me is the guys who can sit, the guys or girls who can sit down and have a And just have a very in-depth, vulnerable, open communication that, like, speaks volumes
Starting point is 00:37:45 to, like, your maturity, your character, where you've been, who you are, and where you want to go. Yeah. Because we're all getting old. But that's boring TV. We're all going to get wrinkles. That's boring TV. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:53 You do make me feel better about that because I clearly, like, if I didn't have insecurities about aging, I wouldn't get Botox. Like, I have insecurities about wrinkles, which I wish I could get over. I wish I could be, and that's something I'll continue to work on. But, you know, it's, we all have something. And that was, same thing with, like, you know, people are. shitting on Hannah right now for this naked bungee jumping and for what she did it's like god why is she not allowed to naked bungee jump like free the nip who cares yeah like i get it that
Starting point is 00:38:20 that was an awkward national television moment but like that must have been liberating yeah you know i just get over it it's like yeah it's like yeah it's like i kind of give her credit for just like she's like you know what i'm on this weird ass journey i'm just gonna own it good for her like and i'd run it it's and then you know what but then we can say things like oh i want a big strong man and that's acceptable too. You know what I mean? Like, wait. I get it. I could get into this, but it's just weird. It's weird. Like, I think the Bachelor franchise or ABC in general just put so much emphasis on sexuality. And, and that's fine. And that's
Starting point is 00:38:59 fine. But people just have to accept that and not come down on Hannah for it. Yeah. I agree with that. And for a full circle to this conversation, you talk about aging and body image things. And my end of the day, my whole theory in life is all you can do is control what you can control and what is out of your control. You cannot worry about because it will break you down, beat you up physically and mentally. And guess what we can't control? We cannot control aging. Every day we get old and we know what's happening.
Starting point is 00:39:28 So what can we do to fight it? I don't even mean physically sad. It's like the fact that you just, you know, one year closer to death. That is dark. No, see? No, it's one more. Closer to, like, the next chapter. Think about a year ago.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Think about what you accomplished in a year. And if you can have time stand still. I will say that this birthday, I was so freaking excited. I was like, God, 34, I cannot wait. This is going to be such a good year. And I didn't think about wrinkles. And I didn't think about aging. I actually was just like, wow, I'm in a good place for a good year.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Hell yeah. Yeah. And think about what you've learned. You've, think about what you've learned in 34 years, the people you've impacted. What you're going to do? What are you going to do in the next 34 years? Holy shit. Holy shit.
Starting point is 00:40:06 You're going to take down the world. So we're not going to... No, I'm going to retire. Just kidding. Just kidding. I think I'll probably podcast till I'm 90. That'd be funny. I just, you know, people think I repeat my stories now.
Starting point is 00:40:19 What's next? Podcasts will be like the records. Wait till I have kids and have baby brain. Antique, Off Devine podcast. Yeah, it'll be like Off Her Rocker podcast. Yeah, I like the sounds about it. Drunk and Off Her Rocker. Nice twist.
Starting point is 00:40:34 Ah, nice twist? Yeah. Turn of events? Yeah, same thing. I think those are synonyms. Some listeners find out the journey isn't always an easy one. You don't get it. It's a family guy.
Starting point is 00:40:46 What season? What episode? Ooh, okay, I'm going to say it's... You're better than this. I'm going to say it's season eight. Yep. Episode three. You got it.
Starting point is 00:40:57 No, you're lying. I have no idea. I'm going to look it up. Nice little narrative, beginning, middle, and end. Some friends become enemies. Some enemies become friends. At the end, your main character. is richer for the experience.
Starting point is 00:41:09 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You got the... No, no, you deserve some time off. I quote it all the time, so get used to it. You know what? That's all I got for you.
