Starting point is 00:00:00 Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story. Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge, there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice. And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am. It's not just any audiobook. This is a full cast performance. So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry, brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
Starting point is 00:00:25 And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads sing is Mr. Darcy. And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything. Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix. Talk about a dream cast. Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics, and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy. And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels so fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.
Starting point is 00:00:58 So whether it's your first time experiencing Pride and Prejudice or you've read it a million times, you're going to fall absolutely in love all over again. So go listen to Pride and Prejudice now at audible.ca slash Jane Austen. Let me ask you something, do you own or rent your own home? I'm sure you do. And I bet it can be hard work. You know what's easy is bundling policies with GEICO. Geico makes it easy to bundle your homeowners or renters insurance along with your auto policy. And it's a good thing too because you already.

Starting point is 00:01:45 Podcast One presents Off the Vine, Great Therapy. Caitlin Bristow's going to answer your questions. Drink to your confessions and hear what you have to say about anything Bachelor. Let's shake it up some more. Here's Caitlin. Welcome to Great Therapy, and here is your Bachelor Recap with Jaitland. Caitlin Bristow and... Jason Tardick.
Starting point is 00:02:07 And Jason just opened a $90 bottle of wine by accident, so we are really going to try and enjoy this. We're like, if we're doing a Bachelor recap, we need to drink some wine, so I went to the little wine fridge and was moving too fast, and here we go. Let's enjoy it. It's nice, isn't it? It is nice, but... I feel like I need a steak with it. Yeah, I feel like it's quite heavy. That is definitely not a spade and sparrows, but that's okay.
Starting point is 00:02:34 It was a gift, though. And I saw him opening it, and as soon as the cork popped, I go, I'm pretty sure that's over $100. Literally out of a TV show. As you heard the, it was like, yeah, that's $150 about, whoop. Yeah, but then we Googled it. We googled it. It was like 85. We're like, oh, it was 8590.
Starting point is 00:02:52 And then we're like, wait, that's still insane. Shit, guys. Whoops. Anyways, we'll enjoy it. It's not like it's not going to get drunk. We will drink the drunk and wine. We will drink the shit out of this good wine. It's a 2012.
Starting point is 00:03:05 Anyways, you know what else is something you did this week that was? Bonehead Played by Jay? Yeah. Let's hear it. Ooh, we should do a Bonehead Play by Jay every week. And I'll do one two of me, of what I did. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Your Bonehead play of the week. We'll come up with something. Your bonehead play of the week was, I took my Envisaline out and put it in a glass of water and you went to chug water and drank my slobber. Oh my god. I can't believe you just brought that up. It's so funny because when I put it in the water, I was like, oh, guarantee he's just going to take a big swig. And you did. This is payback for years and years and years ago. This is absolutely disgusting, but I wasn't feeling well. And one of my buddies, like, Hawk was like, you got to still come out and I had a sinus infection. It's bad. So, you know,
Starting point is 00:03:51 sometimes when you have a sinus infection, you got to hack up a little bit. I hacked up and I put it, I spit into my empty beer can. Oh, my God, I'm going to bar. No, no. There was a couple out and hopped on. Oh, the afternoon is so gross. It was so bad. That's disgusting.
Starting point is 00:04:06 This is payback. This is like eight years later. No, that's not payback. It's not as bad. It's not as bad. It's like drinking my pee or his pee or something. Pee? Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:04:14 You would rather drink someone's peeve than spit? No, but that would be, no. Oh, okay. But that would be payback. And it wasn't payback, right? It was just like full circle, eight years later. That's so gross. A couple bonehead plays by Jay this week.
Starting point is 00:04:28 My bonehead play was... Bonehead play by Bristol. I don't even know. I'd have to think about it. Yeah, we'll think about it. Something will come. You know what wasn't a bonehead play? It was going to Asheville Glampaign for the weekend.
Starting point is 00:04:41 That was incredible, yeah. That was beautiful. I mean, I think this joke is getting old, but you didn't have a fantasy sweet date. And I feel like that was a great... That would have been... Like, for Bachelor, anybody listening that works on The Bachelor, you... You guys want a fantasy suite. Go to the dome or the tree house that we just went to in Asheville.
Starting point is 00:05:00 Yeah, we get up to the tree house, and it's absolutely beautiful. We're in the middle of nowhere, like such a cool scenery. And Caitlin just breaks the vibe by going, yeah, this actually is. This is like a fantasy suite day for The Bachelor. This is exactly what they would do. I'm like, Caitlin, come on. What? It really is.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Screw up the vibe. No, my producer, Brayton was going, okay? You're like, yeah, I've kind of been here. I've done this before. I'd never had one like that. Oh, boy. Anyway. Let's get to recap in the hometowns.
Starting point is 00:05:35 I'm just going to say it. I still am not finding a love story here. And we're at hometowns. I said it last night on Twitter. I'm just not buying what is being sold. I'm just not buying it. From who? It sounds.
Starting point is 00:05:46 All of them? You've seen more seasons to me. But this, it just sounds so damn. ripped it and I'm telling you as someone on the show and you will say it too they do not give you there are no scripts no they don't tell you what to say no they don't suggest what you should say right when you're doing those interviews they have conversations you ask questions yeah but nothing is scripted there is no like drop this line and this sounds like such unless unless you're peter and they're saying you know you're on a date with wine and they say what how is wine like a
Starting point is 00:06:19 relationship and then he's like oh god don't make me say it and they're like you know You know, it's like, it's sweet. It's got a little spice, but it's smooth. Like, that's being fed to him for sure. Oh, for sure. And I think just like in general, I don't know, in today's world, I feel like for me, if I'm buying something, I feel like we're always being sold everywhere, right? Everywhere we go, including us, like we're influencing.
Starting point is 00:06:42 You're constantly, there's ads everywhere, whether it's a billboard, whatever. The list goes on. But your guards up and then you get stuff and you're like, this is legit. I just, my guards up and I'm not, like, when they say I love. you for some reason with Hannah and I don't know that I like see it in her eyes and her smile I don't know I'm not I'm not believing it but here's the thing we've we've been there and then I can go back and ask well were you truly in love with Becca I don't know if I want to know the answer I'm just kidding but you know like you in those moments and being produced and being in
Starting point is 00:07:14 this situation where you're genuinely thinking about marriage so you're like in a different mindset than a regular relationship well of course the mindset I totally get. So I get what you're saying. Do you just see what I'm saying? Like, yes, in this scenario, it's easier to fall in love for sure. But that being said, there are people that have fallen in love because of this scenario and I'm sold, right?
Starting point is 00:07:35 I mean, like, Colton, the way he looked at Cassie, I'm like, he loves her. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Right? Like, there are people in this, you can see it. And I'm just not, I'm not buying. I'm just not buying what's being sold right now. Yeah. So, I mean, do you want to, should we kick it off with Hannah Ann?
Starting point is 00:07:50 Yeah. She was the first hometown? They had to throw Axis. because he needed to prove he is a man he's got to be a man to date her and for her dad to give him away I give her away I think this is a funny thing just to give you guys backgrounds Caitlin and I watch what I saw someone asked me today what did Caitlin think of the episode and I said I think by if I had to summarize everything quickly I would say that Caitlin was doing usually every season I find that you fall in love with one or two contestants and you really root for them yeah I haven't found that
Starting point is 00:08:20 this season with you. And I feel like you're doing much more joking than you normally do because you're just not like that into it. But one thing I said on a serious note, one of the things that really irked her was this whole old tradition of giving your daughter away, which we hear repeatedly. And another thing that really bothered you, I think, was when Madison's dad was holding Madison. And he said, from the minute you were born, the first thing I did was pray that pray for your husband yeah and you make a lot of good points with that like you know what if what if you're not straight what if that person's and then first of all like why is that the first thing you're thinking so i think it was interesting to watch you seeing more traditional
Starting point is 00:09:06 perspectives where you were just like and obviously you're a hard-nosed i am me proud woman that is fierce and independent and some of these things were bothering you and i don't know if that I'm curious, like, if that is a common thing, if people think the same thing that you were thinking, or if people think... Well, I don't. I don't think. I mean, we all have different opinions on that, I'm sure. And some people think it's, you know, like your father and you're his daughter and you need to get the permission. And I'm like, I like, I like tradition and I like old school, but I also like new school. And I like thinking of the mother, too. You know, and you're like a grown-ass. woman. You don't need, you know, to be given away at this point and you don't have to pray for them as soon as they're born about them finding a husband. I just think there's so much pressure in that. And I just feel like maybe that's why these girls are so, that's why she's so young and thinking, I'm supposed to be in love with him. I'm ready for marriage. And I just don't know
Starting point is 00:10:06 if that necessarily allows a child and a teenage woman and a growing woman to like, I don't know, I just feel like it puts so much pressure on them. I get that. And I do, I think, just so nothing is misunderstood. One thing we also talked about is that it is a parent's job to raise and protect and guide and parent a child, right? So no one is taking that away. And that's, and I'm not saying how somebody should parent. If that's how they believe in parenting, I'm not going to tell them not to do it. It's just, it was just my opinion that I was like, oh my gosh, that's crazy to me. But again. To each their own. Yeah. And that's obviously a very religious family. But anyways, that was Madison. We're still at Han Ann Ann. I mean, Han, same thing with the dad wanting him to be a man,
Starting point is 00:10:49 but whatever moving past that like i mean i just see them as like they have a crush on each other yeah i don't see let's go to the axe throwing like i i was were you we saw we saw peter play basketball earlier in the season when victorian he was missing buckets left and right i was a little worried i'm like all right he didn't do too well with the buckets at cedar point how's he going do with the axe throwing but he did well he did good yeah he did good yeah for somebody that's never thrown an axe but i was like okay yeah cute cute and then she like held an axe why they made out scared me a little bit uh but that i don't know they're just at the end i'm like okay he's in love with her and she's in love with him again same thing not really buying it but we can also
Starting point is 00:11:30 understand how they say it and think they feel those things so nothing really to say about that date but sure they seem cute they're cute that's about it they seem like they have a crush on each other and it's cute all right so mr chris harrison was telling me about this crazy party hulu through in beverly hills with all the biggest reality tv stars from like every show and now I have to watch the commercials to see what happened like everyone else I don't usually get FOMO
Starting point is 00:11:55 but in this case I have extreme FOMO here luckily for you Hulu has the reality TV that you love so start your free trial today at Hulu.com next date was But so real quick I feel like we can't go over Ranger Rick Oh yeah Richard
Starting point is 00:12:12 He was like that guy had I will not be produced written on my forehead He's like I don't He's not a reality TV guy. No, not a big reality. But I think the big thing he said is that, that I remember was when he was talking about to Peter.
Starting point is 00:12:26 He said, you know, saying that you're in love with my daughter is a big deal. I'd rather you not tell her. Oh, yeah. And then Peter was like, go for yourself, Rick. Yeah, Rick. Easy Ranger, Rick. Pilot Pete is here to stay and I'm going to pursue what I want to pursue. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:42 And I thought that was kind of a big, like that was telling. Like, dad says back down and you say, nope, I'm going for it. which I respect. That's true because I mean, again, like, who really knows? The thing that I keep going back to is, you know, when you root for somebody that becomes the bachelor's because they're heartbroken and they're ready to move on, we've never seen it where they're not ready to move on yet they still have to. So I feel like it set us up at the beginning of the season to think like, okay, he's ready
Starting point is 00:13:12 to move on, but then we see that he's clearly not and there's no closure. So then I think we're just comparing all these women to his connection with Hannah B because that's the one true one that we've always seen and we're we haven't been given that closure for him to move on so we're all just like but I don't get it like and I'm by I buy his his relationship with Hannah B when I watch those two yes that's yeah I agree with you I see the physical connection the emotional connection like I completely agree so as a viewer you're like but I don't see that with anyone else and we weren't like rooting for him to move on because we're like rooting for him to figure out what the heck he's feeling yeah and so maybe that's
Starting point is 00:13:48 we're not seeing any of these connections or believing them because we're like, well, we saw you at the beginning being so confused and that door isn't closed. So what the hell, man? True. And again, like I think, and from my experience, I think you know when the show starts who you hope it is at the end. And as the show goes on, you start to know more and more. And then by a certain point, you're like, well, I know what I want. And so I think for Peter, he's already made up his mind. He already knows what he wants. So everyone's like, oh my gosh, how could he keep Victoria F? And he's probably just like, well, because I know it's not going to be her. So who cares if she's on for another week to cause some drama because, you know, like.
Starting point is 00:14:23 I disagree. So we can get to Victoria F. I disagree. I have a different perspective on that. Okay. But my perspective is that he already knows what he wants. Sure. So it doesn't matter for him.
Starting point is 00:14:33 He's almost trying like, like he knows this person is at the end. He knows that they're not going to watch all of this back and be happy about it. So he's just trying to like. You think he knows right? You think right now he knows who he wants? Yes. Oh, I disagree. I think he knows what he wants.
Starting point is 00:14:48 I think he's can, I think, like, I see he has like his, he's clearly in love with Hannah Ann. I see him also having an outrageous chemistry that reminds me a little bit of Hannah being him with Madison. So Kelsey, I'm like, no, he's not into Kelsey. I didn't think, I didn't think she was really into him and I didn't think he was really into her. I wasn't sold on that. I think she seems great. She seems like an awesome person. He's a great guy.
Starting point is 00:15:11 I just didn't see it. I think Victoria F, to me, we can talk. a lot about it, but I don't see that as like a marriage. I think that I could see him, you know, I can see him in Hannah-Anne kind of sort. I see that, and I see him in Madison for sure. So I don't think he knows. I do. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:31 That's the beauty of the show. We all get. And so I think he's just having. So who do you think he said on? Well, in my, okay, to me, it's either Madison or Hannah B. Oh, so you think Hannah-Anne is out? Yes. Wait, what?
Starting point is 00:15:48 Yeah, he just said he loved it. He just had her dad looked him dead in the eye and said, do not tell my daughter you love her unless you mean it. I'd rather you just wait. I think he's falling in love with her. Yeah, but I think that's... Wow. That's, I'm surprised by that.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Really? Yeah, that's great, though. I bet other people completely agree with you. I don't know. I just see it differently. Bottom line for me is that I think he already knows what he wants. And so it's hard for him to go through all the motions and try and be this bachelor. are still dating all these women when he's like,
Starting point is 00:16:19 oh, I just don't want to hurt her during this. I already know what I want. It's whoever he picks. Okay. All right. So definitely different perspectives. As it relates to Kelsey,
Starting point is 00:16:31 tell me about where you thought about her hometown. I don't even remember her hometown. Oh, the grape stomping. The grape stomping. Her mom was pretty intense, like saying, Don't hurt my daughter.
Starting point is 00:16:40 Yeah. Nice family. Love for the grape stomping. The crab ragoons. Really good, really big. missed opportunity for two things for them to recreate the YouTube video of the girl falling while crushing grapes and remember that and she's like ah okay two they should have made a champagne
Starting point is 00:16:58 I said this on a tweet and then had it spray on their face for old time's sake that would have been way better they could have talked about that speaking to what she like this talk about most improved player yeah like I thought I was a big comeback guy I didn't have a date on week two she made it to hometowns I'm like wait how did we get here how did Kelsey make it to home time I thought she was, like, going home week, too. But she's gone. What I liked about her is, like, we really got to see her. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:23 And she honestly seems like a mature, sweet person. Yeah. Yeah. I'm rooting for whatever happens with her. I hope it all works out. Yeah. Maybe we'll see her on Paradise. Oh, I'm sure.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Or summer games. I'm just something like that. Okay. Yeah, I don't know. I don't have much to say about her date. I just was like, yeah, again, cute, fun. I like the intensity of her mom. Her mom is like, you can clear a shirt.
Starting point is 00:17:46 strong stern woman, woman, and she just, I like how she just put it, protective, and she just put it all out there. Yeah. I like it. Okay. Where were they for that out there? Oh, Iowa. Iowa. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:58 Yeah. Okay. And then Madison. He did actually really well with Madison with the basketball for what we saw of him playing basketball with Victoria. Yeah, he did great. It did great. There's something about Madison that when you watch her and you watch them together, she's like, I think she makes good TV. She has a magnetic personality.
Starting point is 00:18:16 do you like her. I talk to my buddy who's an attorney who works with both of us today. And he's like, listen, I don't watch a show at all. My wife's obsessed. We watched it last night. It's the first one I watched. He goes, I like, the only one I like is Madison. So I think there's something that's magnetizing about her, like, charm and in the person she is. Yeah, I agree. But then I'm like thinking, and now who knows who's going to be the bachelor next? Because nobody knows a spoiler. It's, which is so much more fun watching it when you don't know spoilers. But But for me, I'm like, oh, she's also, if he doesn't pick her, I see her being the Bachelorette.
Starting point is 00:18:52 So is she just getting that really pure, great edit. So if she's doing it, I'm still buying, like, again, as a hard, as a guy that's hard to sell, I'm buying what she's, if you're saying she's selling, I'm buying it. I really like her. I think she's good. Sweet. She's kind. She's pure.
Starting point is 00:19:07 I was like, yes, she is. Very. Very pure. Her family seems very, very formal, but. a little bit intense Yeah Very intense Which is in a good way though
Starting point is 00:19:20 Yeah Very strong, like a good intense But I bet Peter had a little back sweat Going Yeah a little back sweat A little butt sweat He killed his toast though
Starting point is 00:19:28 I don't remember the toast They did the special plate Remember they do a special Which I honestly I love that idea Everyone says something nice about it See I love that game It's called the feel good circle in my home Oh okay
Starting point is 00:19:38 And he said you know They all said pretty solid things I think he won though If someone won If someone got up like a He said, oh, yeah, he said she inspired him. Every day that I've been on this tough journey, she's inspired me. That's sweet.
Starting point is 00:19:50 That was great. How old is she again? I think, I don't know. I don't know either. I like her. It did remind me, though, the inspire me thing. There are a lot of tweets joking around about the list. It goes back to Hannah Ann, but Peter made this list to Hannah Ann about all the things he liked about her.
Starting point is 00:20:09 Yeah. And one funny comment from Caitlin was like, you're like, well, if I was a person that won this and I'm watching this back and I'm Aunt Ann's not the person. You're like, that would piss me. I know, but that's, I mean, we haven't even got to fantasy suites yet, so who knows what's going to piss who off, but this whole show is, it's tough on the old heart, you know? It really is.

Okay. So what are our conclusions of that one of Madison? A plus hometown visit. I think right now I'm on Madison's team. If she doesn't win, I want her to be the Bachelorette. Finally, someone, within this what I'm calling a shit show of a season that I'm really like believing in the story and I want her to find happiness and I'm hoping it's with Peter that's like where my instincts my natural like first instinct I'm with you on that one yeah I'm with you on that one but you and I also like I don't think that you and she is the bachelor can we not make all the virgin jokes
Starting point is 00:23:02 yeah I know you know I don't think there's there's apps like there's nothing wrong with pageantry It's great, it's phenomenal, but I don't think if I had to classify you and I, Caitlin, we're not pageant people. Like, we're not, do you agree with that? What do you mean by that? Like, I don't think that we gravitate towards, like, hello, my name is Cynthia. Oh, see, I think you used to. I want to save the world. I think you used to.
Starting point is 00:23:35 I, now I disagree with that. I guess I don't know you before, but. Yeah, just I'm saying, like being from New York in my communication style, especially when it comes to business, has always been pretty direct. A little too direct sometimes. No, but I'm like, like I'm a softballer. I'm understanding. I find myself to be kind, but we're pretty direct. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:55 And you're going to come to Buffalo this weekend. You're really going to get to see everyone. Yeah. It's sweet talk. You all are open. But just complete, like, what I think is like, I'm like, are you scripted? Are you real? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:24:06 Who? Oh, sorry, that's how I felt. That's how what Hannah-Anna was talking a couple times. You got to say who I'm like, what are talking about? You and I were like, was that? Yes. You said that when she was saying something, you're like, I feel like every time she talks, it's like a rehearsed line.
Starting point is 00:24:21 Not every time, but just a few things she said. I'm like, where did that come from? That was very like out of a book. That's what you said, yeah. Yeah, a couple things. I have no idea why I even said that. Yeah, that one, we went way back there. Okay, moving forward.
Starting point is 00:24:35 This wine is great. we'll be right back with more off the vine grape therapy now back to off the vine grape therapy all I want to do is get to Victoria F because she's clearly the topic of this show again and I knew that was going to happen yeah okay I knew what I mean did you think she had dated Hunter Hayes or what do you think was going to happen I did think that was I thought I was good I was like oh boy here we go um but Hunter Hayes Yes, great guy who had him on my podcast.
Starting point is 00:25:09 Was it really excited to see him on the show? Because he's, yeah, he's an amazing entertainer. But do what we're saying? Oh, when he didn't even meet the family, which was the first, outside of her door. And she had her a little, I want to call it a hissy fit, but that feels mean. But that's what it kind of felt like. And then she came back. I was like, oh, guaranteed they, you know, he's going to pick her because I don't know,
Starting point is 00:25:36 I just had this feeling. Sure. right didn't i say that last night i was yeah i didn't think so i just that's what you thought i just had this feeling but i mean again this is where i'm like the guy already knows what he wants he knows it's not victoria so you know it was probably like oh let's you know keep her around for some more entertainment i guess it gets people talking this is where i completely disagree with you well what do you think i think that you really likes her i think he's completely manipulated by her I think that she is like running his show.
Starting point is 00:26:07 No, I agree with that. Like, I don't think he's literally like, oh, I'm going to write her off. She'll come for the road with. I think he's into her. And I think she has got him completely twisted. And the thing is, is, okay, maybe it was edited. I don't think it was. He asked a question.
Starting point is 00:26:21 He said, I'm not taking sides. I'm just asking a question, right? This person said this. Is it true? Which was his ex, which is a weird person for that to come from? It was a weird thing to have. But like, nothing got resolved. Let's think about the outcome.
Starting point is 00:26:33 nothing got resolved Peter went home she got a rose she continues her journey she hears international she's going international seas oh my god she lights up she's so excited
Starting point is 00:26:44 I think he's getting worked by her and honestly I think a woman tell all people are going to be pissed I think people are going to give him grief for what you know why would you continue to be pursuing Victoria like if I'm Kelsey I'm thinking
Starting point is 00:26:59 why would you give Victoria Rose we just had a great hometown we both shared our feelings What the hell? And I think he needs to step up and be like, I was manipulated. Yes. I fell a victim to manipulation. I agree with that to an extent.
Starting point is 00:27:13 Like, I do think she manipulated him. But I also think she does really like him. Really? Yeah, I do. I do. You think she really likes it. And I do think he likes her, but I think he knows she isn't the one. See, for me, I haven't seen anything yet that says to me,
Starting point is 00:27:33 Victoria F is very into Peter at all. But also think of Peter doesn't see everything all the time. And so watching back, maybe he's like, oh, yeah, okay, I'm manipulated. But when they're like one-on-one, I'm like, I don't see. I don't see, you know, she's, if I'm, if I'm Peter, I'm like, why do I just feel bad for her? Why am I just like trying to take her side and feel bad? Why?
Starting point is 00:27:55 Well, here's the thing. So when you look at the way she's being bullied online, it's ridiculous. It kills me. I looked at a couple comments and I was like, I can't do this. I can't look at her comments. I just want to go after everybody. I mean, people are, or they take it to a level that is, that is outrageous, that, you know, people forget that everyone's a human.
Starting point is 00:28:16 Mental health is a real thing. And these comments are piercing, they're piercing. But also, like, there's a way to talk about it and there's a way not to talk about it. If you want to observe and make an opinion, make an opinion, you don't have to, I don't know. I don't think some of the comments. that are out there are way over the top. The death threats to family and the thing, like, I think I'm going too far the other way I'm trying to back her up,
Starting point is 00:28:40 even though I might not agree with it, only because I'm like, she needs some support right now. I think to say, like, yeah, she's manipulating Peter is a fair comment. I think to say some of the things we could screenshot and put out there that's online is abusive and absolutely uncalled for, right? Do we agree with that?
Starting point is 00:28:56 Yeah, I guess I remember, like, when I was on the show, I remember listening to like a couple of girls who I was a fan of their podcast, and they like called me some pretty awful names or made jokes at my expense and it was like like I can I can handle jokes but it was like pretty mean and so I guess I'm like maybe a little paranoid or or feel like I don't want anyone to think I'm being a bully even though because I like because I like to poke fun and I like to tease and I like to make jokes and I'm very sarcastic and but I don't ever want to like bully somebody yeah but yes I also want to hear your opinion yeah too yeah because I ain't I'm not the girl that's going to sit back and not have a an opinion. I'm very confused in a... No, you are not. What's what I don't know?
Starting point is 00:29:39 I don't know. The wine is a weird thing. It's really good. Okay, here's what I really think. Yes. I agree with you. I think she's manipulating him because she keeps doing this thing where she's the victim. Sure.
Starting point is 00:29:51 And then making him come back and feel bad like he did something wrong. Right. When, you know, she can't just ever talk like a normal human being and express her feelings. She winds and complains and wants to run. away. But I also think that they like each other and that he's not seen everything. I don't know. Yeah, I think, I feel like if I had to, if I'm being brutally honest, if I had to like summarize their relationship in one word, I would say it's like like lust, attraction. Yeah. I think they're super, they're attracted and yeah. I think there's a, there's a factor of that. Yes. I agree with
Starting point is 00:30:28 you. Oh, man. All right. Off the Vine is brought to you by our new go-to hard. Seltzer, Bud Light Seltzer, I am telling you, you need to try the Seltzer if you haven't already. It comes in four different flavors. There's black cherry, lemon, lime, mango, and strawberry. They're all pretty dang amazing. But right now, I would have to say my favorite is probably the mango. I just feel like, you know, you crack one open, feels like you're sitting somewhere tropical.
Starting point is 00:30:52 And that's what I like to picture when I open one, take a sip. These seltzers are super, super easy to drink with a hint of fruit flavor. They're absolutely delicious. And my go-to for what I'm craving something light and fruit. especially when I want to snag a little beverage during the daytime, which don't make you bad people. You guys know I'm usually a big wine guy, but every now and then, got to switch it up. And that's exactly when I go for a Bud Light Seltzer. So next time you grab a few bottles for your Bachelor Nation viewing parties, whatever you're doing,
Starting point is 00:31:20 make sure you pick up a Bud Light Seltzer variety pack and see how delicious this is for yourself. And tell me what you guys think, because I'm pretty sure as soon as you try it, you're going to be an immediate fan like I was. I recommend trying them all, pick up a variety pack of Bud Light Seltzer, and find your favorite flavor. Let me know what it is. Now back to the show. Next week, they're where? International Waters.
Starting point is 00:31:42 It's fantasy sweets. But real quick, I want to circle back. I think this woman tell all is going to be wild. Yeah. I think it's going to be wild. Because everyone's out, you've got to remember, at this point when Kelsey sent home, she has no idea what ensues. with Victoria until she watched it back last night she doesn't know she's thinking okay there was four hometowns our connection's not as strong i'm going home she's watching this back i if i'm him
Starting point is 00:32:12 if i'm her i got to give it to peter if i'm some of these other girls that have been watching this season back this women tell all i think is going to be unbelievable what other answer can peter have other than you weren't you you aren't my wife you aren't the person i want to be engaged to like what does it matter who I send home when if you're not for me that's what I when all these people have questions and I mean I've been there I've asked the questions too but I'm like what other answer do you want like obviously I'm going to have to answer in the most polite way possible but at the end of the day I just don't want you like you're you just weren't the one why do you have all these questions if because as you know with
Starting point is 00:32:49 you obviously first impressions are huge within this short period of time and obviously your initial traction is massive but still like I think anyone would admit that Time is the biggest commodity within the bachelor space. And if you have more time, it could really change your relationship for the good or bad. And maybe more time could have enhanced that. Now, I don't think it would have. I don't think Kelsey was for him. But I still will go back to my statement and stand by it that this woman tell all is going to be wild.
Starting point is 00:33:17 Yeah, I agree. It's going to be crazy. Yeah. That's going to be good. Should we answer a couple questions from some vino? Sure. Let's do it. Before you have to get to your hockey game.
Starting point is 00:33:27 Who the Preds playing again? Minnesota. Hurricanes. Oh. Carolina. Oh. Kate Lynn. No, I thought it was Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:33:33 Oh, I thought you were like Coor Hair Hurricanes. This is Laura. I'm from Alberta. I'm from Alberta. I just want to say I love you guys so much. And the podcast is I look forward to it every week. Those hometowns last week, last night actually. I just cannot understand like the voodoo magic that Victoria pulled on Peter.
Starting point is 00:33:55 I'm saying. He is talking. her about how someone said that she broke up relationships and then she just turns it out on him and it makes it all his fault and then we don't even go back and address the like main issue um do you think that he just is like really into her that he just didn't care or like he was just frustrated um it was bizarre to watch but uh anywho hope you guys are having a great day love you guys so much um yeah sweet sweet albertian what was that are you called laura yeah Laura
Starting point is 00:34:32 yeah i mean when you yeah the more we talk about it the more i'm like yeah that is she literally flipped it on him when she she didn't even like address the situation or talk about it or have like a mature conversation she literally just flipped it on him made him feel bad and then everybody i think everyone out there and this is what i'm saying about manipulative everyone out there has been a relationship, not everyone, hopefully not, where there's been emotional abuse. This is, in my opinion, the definition of emotional abuse. Like, you aren't taking ownership for anything. And in serious times of hardship, you're utilizing some type of power, which I think in this point, it's attraction, to switch and flip. And it's just not,
Starting point is 00:35:15 there's nothing, like, it's pure manipulation. Like, think about at this point in his head, he has someone that's unquestionable, that's run away, that's been outreaching. very, you know, very emotional and what I would consider irrational in their conversations. And he has had to overcome a lot of things that he's dealt with with her. And now this again, and I'm just, I think it's manipulation in its purest form. Yeah. Damn. Manipulation is such a.
Starting point is 00:35:43 It doesn't mean that she's this awful, terrible human forever. But I just think in this circumstance, in this relationship, it's not healthy for her or him. Yeah, I agree. I agree. Okay, let's hear from Emily, from Kansas City. Probably about Victoria again. I'm assuming all these are going to be about her. Hello, my name is Emily from Kansas City. I saw your post on the Off the Vine Facebook group. I thought hometowns were very underwhelming, given with all the Victoria drama. I think Kelsey's went the best.
Starting point is 00:36:23 and she was sent home. Overall, I think that is kind of the tone of this season is kind of Peter, what the F are you doing? Can't like to open the podcast. Hopefully I don't hear my annoying voice, but if I do, that's pretty cool. Thanks, love you guys. I like her voice. People never like their own voice.
Starting point is 00:36:47 Yeah, it really, yeah, I just, everybody's been so hard on Peter, but it, it's, It's hard not to be when you are just thinking like, what are you doing? What are you doing each week? But again, this just always goes back to my point of thinking he just knew what he wanted and that he's just like such a nice human being that he's like trying to just play fair to everyone because he already knows what he wants at the end. I don't know. That's just my thought.
Starting point is 00:37:14 Okay. That's the beauty of these podcasts. We could get our thoughts out there. Yeah. So what? Well. It's hard to even, like, it's hard to have more of, like, it's hard to have a really in-depth conversation about it because it's not an in-depth.
Starting point is 00:37:31 Yeah, you're really digging deep to try and draw a conclusion here because you're not seeing much depth. Right. Like, I remember thinking his conversation with Victoria F was the deepest convo we've seen. I was like, that wasn't deep. And I was like, no, I know, but it was the deepest. Besides, you know, Kelsey talking about her parents, like, stuff earlier on, this is definitely the deepest conversation we've seen from him.
Starting point is 00:37:53 him in Victoria. And all it was was them agreeing on the fact that they have zero communication skills. Correct. I do think the one thing we are seeing from Peter, which doesn't answer this question, but I think one thing we're starting to see from him is he's becoming a little bit more opinionated and comfortable in his stance and his skin as this season progresses. I think early on he was a little bit wishy-washy, but now I think we're starting to see that. Do you agree with that? Yeah. Like he's starting to kind of like, no, what do you mean? What do you talk? Like he's pushing back a little bit, which is what's, it's nice to see him come into himself, right? Yeah. That's true. Finally. Yeah, I do, I do agree with you on that. All right, with the new year officially here in full swing, everyone
Starting point is 00:38:33 vowing to be restrictive to resolutions. Pepsi wants to usher in the new decade a bit differently, and that's by encouraging everyone to unapologetically do what they enjoy, even in the face of other's judgment. So if you're keeping your New Year's resolutions, going strong, one, good for you. You've got some serious willpower. But two, make sure you're still doing you enjoying life no matter what those resolutions are. It's called balance. I love Pepsi, truly always have. They want us to do just that.
Starting point is 00:39:01 Enjoy life, unapologetically, be ourselves, have fun, no matter what other people think. It's not always easy to do, but try it. It feels pretty darn amazing. I posted a video of me singing Demi Lovato on my Instagram the other day. That was a little scary because I love singing and I don't care what other people think. I'll sing in my car, sing in the shower, I'll sing wherever I please, thank you very much. Might as well sing on Instagram where I share everything else with you guys. So be yourself, do you enjoy a life free of constraints, create moments of unapologetic enjoyment,
Starting point is 00:39:31 whether that's dancing like no one's watching, trying something new, or trying something old that maybe used to love and you haven't done it in a while. Pepsi, that's what I like. Okay, let's answer one more question. Hi, Caitlin. I was just wondering if during... the show if everyone really does just sit around and stare at each other while other people are doing like a one-on-one um so i would be like playing pool or like hitting the jukebox or something
Starting point is 00:40:03 not a one-on-one but you know like when they go and talk to peter or whatever and they're all just like sitting and staring at each other so i was just curious if you know you really just sit there because it seems really awkward and boring also i just wanted to say that this season is probably my least favorite and I know we all say that at first that it's never like interesting
Starting point is 00:40:28 and blah blah blah I'm usually like I don't get on that train of saying like oh this sucks I'm not going to watch it but this season I really do feel like it's a lot different because everyone seems like really immature and
Starting point is 00:40:42 I don't know just like stupid drama like the Victoria shit last night was just stupid. And I know racers have to amp up the drama and whatnot, but I don't know.
Starting point is 00:40:58 I thought it was a little ridiculous and we can do a little better. Peter needs like a woman and someone a little bit older perhaps or at least like a more age doesn't really matter, but like a more mature mindset.
Starting point is 00:41:11 Anyways, I love you and love Jason. All right. Thank you. Bye. That's funny. It's funny because you're like I love the questions that are like, do you really just sit there and stare at each other? And you're like, yeah, we really do. It's so boring. Because there's really nothing to do.
Starting point is 00:41:29 Yeah, I mean, they have, you know, I remember the first date I went on, and in the limo there was music. And I'm a big music guy. And there was the first time I'd heard music in the, you know, two weeks, and I was going nuts about it. So there isn't music.
Starting point is 00:41:42 And at the end of the day, it makes sense, right? They want you to be living in what's going on and not distractions. So that's one thing. But I think another point to make, which you and I kind of looked at each other and said, what the hell? Once you get down to the final four, you typically, you're kind of off on your own. You don't really see the other contestants until the final rose.
Starting point is 00:42:02 But this is the first time I'm going to say ever, and I'm going to be wrong because someone's going to prove me wrong here. But this is the first time I've ever watched a season, and obviously I was part of one, that during fantasy weeks, you're in the same hotel in the same hotel. they're talking, go find me a season where that happens. It might have been many, many seasons ago because they've definitely changed it. I don't remember the last time because we saw the preview for next week and they're all sitting in the same hotel and talking and it's Fantasy Sweet Week, which is so unheard of that usually you're split up by then.
Starting point is 00:42:32 You don't see the other contestants at that point. And I want to say, like, through this whole journey, I thought when I was on it, I remained pretty poised and calm and stayed away from the drama. But what I'll tell you is when you get down to the final four and you start really feeling feelings that are real and then you know this person meet your family it changes it changes significantly and to think you know i think about myself as composed and comp to be in the same friggin hotel is the other guys so at that point it was me blake and garrett to be in that position yeah while they're going on an overnight and then coming back i mean the whole situation's already weird but that
Starting point is 00:43:09 absolutely toast my mind or maybe they don't do that i mean maybe they just have a group conversation once and that's it. Yeah, who knows. But obviously we've seen the previews. I've never seen anything like that. I haven't either. And I don't think correct or wrong. Have we ever seen a hometown been scheduled in the Bachelor, Bachelorette, go to the house
Starting point is 00:43:27 and then not meet the family? That had to be a first, too. That sucks. Poor family, you know, because I always say they don't sign up for it. The family seemed like so, remember they showed the clip at the end? They seem so great. The grandma with their grandma kisses. Nana kisses.
Starting point is 00:43:42 Yeah, it was cute. Um, okay, well, I wish we had more to offer on this recap, but that's how we feel. Yeah. So who's your top person? Finishing the recap, let's end it this way. Okay. Give me your top person for Peter, top person for Bachelorette, and what do you think the ending will be? My top person for Peter is still Hannah B.
Starting point is 00:44:03 Okay. Because I just have not seen the connection with anyone else. Okay. Pick for Bachelorette is, um, Kendall. okay wow that was curveball um love candle that was curveball well i don't know i was expecting so yeah that's good that's good i like that and what do you think the uh who do you think how do you think the season aligned prediction my prediction is that my prediction is still that he ends up with hannaby yeah okay so i think the best person for him at this point is madison
Starting point is 00:44:41 Mm-hmm. Wait, that wasn't one of the questions. I think the best person for him at this point is Madison. Oh, that was question number one. Well, no, you said. Most likely to be with. Like, who's the best? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:51 Oh. That was worded very differently. Okay. I think who he'll, I think who's the best for him right now? Madison. Yeah. I think who the best Bachelorette would be right now. I think we would get a, no one's throwing this name around.
Starting point is 00:45:09 I don't think for Bachelorette. I think we would have a, wildly entertaining season if Demi was the Bachelorette. Yeah, but you can't I agree with you it would be wildly entertaining but I think Demi has to gain our trust back
Starting point is 00:45:25 right now with wanting to find love and I also think that the season is progressing yes and evolving a little bit but I don't think they're ready to have a full bisexual cast. I would love if they did. I would love
Starting point is 00:45:41 But that's what I'm rooting for. And then I think my prediction for Peter, I'm changing every single week. Last week I thought he ends up single. This week, I'm still like, I'm stuck in between single or this like Hannah and Madison thing I can't figure out. So if I'm a betting man, I'm going to bet, let's say it 100 bucks. I'm going to bet that he's not engaged and I'm going to, oh, I'm going to go with, I'm going to say some, I'm going to say single. Really?
Starting point is 00:46:19 I'm going to say like something doesn't work out. I don't know. I don't know. Because I think the only way it can be unspoiled is if he is, if he's single. No, because people can still spoil that. How would they know? They're not really, usually the problem is, is like, oh, they caught someone on a flight or, oh, they were calling each other. But if there is not another person, how can things be spoiled if he just doesn't say anything?
Starting point is 00:46:43 So do you think he's single right now? Or do you think he's going to be single come the finale finale? That I don't know. I mean, I had a tough time just coming up with single. So I don't know. I don't know. Maybe after next episode, those things will change. So next week, Fantasy Suite.
Starting point is 00:47:01 So maybe we'll have. Is women tell law before that or after that? After. After that's going to be. I think that's going to be the best show. Yeah, I can't wait to recap the next two. Can't wait to recap the next two. Thank you for being my guest tonight.
