Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story.
Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge,
there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice.
And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am.
It's not just any audiobook.
This is a full cast performance.
So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry,
brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads sing is Mr. Darcy.
And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything.
Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix.
Talk about a dream cast.
Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics,
and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy.
And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels
so fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.
So whether it's your first time experiencing Pride and Prejudice or you've read it a million times, you're going to fall absolutely in love all over again.
So go listen to Pride and Prejudice now at audible.ca slash jane austin.

host, Caitlin Bristow. This week is part two of our episode with our girl, Hannah B. If you missed
last week, we'll get yourself a glass or one or two or three of wine and have a listen. We talk about
processing 2020, as if that's even possible, and hard reality checks of life. So today, the confession
and, you know, may or may not involve peeing in public.
We also deep dive into dancing with the stars
and how Hannah survived it coming right off The Bachelor.
I hope everyone is voting today if you haven't already.
I'm making you confess to me something.
Okay.
So, I was thinking about this.
I have to do.
Maybe I have two and you can decide which one y'all want to air.
No, we're going to air both.
okay actually both of them I'm like or am I okay to say this I don't know yeah okay so um
no I'm gonna say this one okay so I don't exactly know if this is the right formula
but um there's no format okay great okay so this week um I had gone out with one of my
girlfriends and we had gone and got Mexican but then we wanted to go
to the store to look for some vintage clothes and we had we had we had gotten there and it's like man
we really we both had to use the restroom really bad so we go into the store and they don't
have a restroom and they're like like we like I was about to pee my pants I was like goodness
so then they're like but there's a there's a cafe right beside us you can go there so we go
there and we're both like you know walk in like oh we had to pee and then the
doors are locked and it was like crap so then there's a dog store and my friend sony was like
okay we're going to go in there we got to like just get something so she like grabs like two
toys and then she's like we're casually up there she's like so do you have a restroom and they're like no we
don't right was there oh it's like and they go she's like no she's like I mean the lady was like
I mean I've gotten desperate and used the alleyway and we and this
This is on Melrose, okay?
I'm on Marlose.
And we're like, what are you going to do?
And then she was like, well, she told us the alleyway.
I was like, I mean, do we just do it?
Just go to the alleyway.
So you did.
So we, I moved a freaking dumpster.
Like, I'm a freaking Hulk and move this dumpster fast.
And I peed.
I public
What is it called?
Like I was peeing in public
Oh I peed in public
Like I pulled my pants in public
In a Melrose alleyway
Do you ever worry that Pop-Rotsie is somehow
Still following you
And that they like capture that moment
Well I was like if somebody recognizes me
And for some reason sees that I go to alleyway
And then for some reason sees that I have my pants
I'm right now like
That's on them to continue to filming
Like, how bad would that be?
But it was just so funny because, like, that girl didn't really think we were going to go to the alleyway and pee.
You're, like, great idea.
But I was like, we have no other option.
That was this week.
I peed in public.
Yeah.
That's, you know what?
You took her advice.
She put it out there.
It wasn't your idea.
Yeah.
No, she was.
I mean, thank goodness for all those times that my boyfriend's left me in the woods in Alabama.
And I had to learn how to fly.
And pee
Look, I'm with you.
I can pee anywhere.
I was just like whatever.
Yeah.
It was broad daylight too.
This was not like at night.
It was until the day.
That's even better.
You know what?
You got to do what you got to do.
There was no bathroom there.
You were resourceful.
You hulked out the bin and you peed.
The feed behind the, yeah.
Yeah.
I'm proud of you.
My other one that I was going to say is, yeah.
um i uh just joined a dating app to go out and i i actually just got off a date to come here
stop yeah i'm so proud of you thank you i'm really proud of myself because i've not put myself
out there and i was like you know what i just got to do it and um and no it's no oh okay
but they've been all nice i will say bachelor it really prepares you for like
being able to handle pretty much any date oh my gosh you must be like such a you're you're a pro the first
this is my third date but the first date that i went on this week i um didn't like the first guy so i
went back to back i literally called another guy get it to meet me i am so proud of you for so many
reasons but most importantly because you've done the you've been putting in so much work on yourself
that it's like, of course you should be dating.
But to come out of, you know, a show like that,
put yourself out there for a dating app
and then to go through with it and just be like,
you know what?
I have to.
Yeah, like I have to.
Like, I'm not trying, like,
I got to get back.
Like, I feel like once you like set yourself like free for that
and I think I've been so like, no, what if this,
what if that?
Like, should I?
it's like I can almost like feel the universe that like God is like knowing that I'm like trusting
like I can do that like I'm ready and I am and it doesn't have to mean like no was the
the three dates that I've been on this week was that were they my husband no right it was just
like allowing myself to be like yeah these people may know who I am right
Like, I don't know who they are.
And did they?
Yeah.
Of course they did.
And was it weird or were they cool about it?
Were they like, cool, great date.
Can we get a selfie?
And then they like, hashtag the Bachelorette.
They were all like really cool about it.
I actually appreciated when they would just be like not make me think, oh my gosh,
I don't want to be like, I don't know what to say.
But they like, I know a little bit about you.
that's what that I like when they're like, I know a little bit about you, but what about
this and not ask about my life?
Because it's like, okay, I don't have to like, fiddle, like, fiddle around the like, oh,
yeah, I was on national television dating.
I was like engaged once for a month, like thing.
Right.
I was like with the stars and won a mirror ball.
Like I don't have to like pretend like none of that didn't happen, but I also am not like
having to talk about it either.
I mean, it's a quick Google search.
Do you, when you, when you.
when you know who these people are
that you're going on on a date with
are you able to Google them too
I am a girl
so I've figured out how to do my research
I figured out how to do the necessary
research so that's nice
not a serial killer but no
like it's like no
it's not the same
like I'm not
they yeah I just
I just want to find a nice guy
whether he's in the public or not
and right
It just be great.
I'm not like, I don't know.
I mean, who cares if they're, whatever they are,
they need to be good in the old heart.
Exactly.
Exactly.
So, not something wasn't them.
But yeah, that's what I just did.
That's why we had to do it a little bit later too for me.
I love that.
I would wait an extra two hours for you if you were on a day.
I'd be like, oh, okay, you do your thing.
It was able to give me, especially with like online dating or like these dating apps,
I started to be in like, brick, I don't know these people.
I don't want to be stuck.
Here's the thing.
If the date goes great, you can always go on a second date.
But again, like, that's like some advice that I would say for anybody.
Like give yourself like a time frame of how long so you don't get stuck.
get a girlfriend to like blow up your phone so that like you have to say i have a heart out
at this time would love to do it again if it goes well like just do that play the honest card hey
i have to go at this time if this works out see you again yeah yeah just like do but like just
make sure you like don't get feel like you're trapped and make sure you put some boundary so it was it was good
I was like, yeah, this will work perfectly.
I got two hours.
This is good enough.
Boundaries are everything, especially on a first date.
You set the boundaries and, you know, for any relationship.
Do whatever you want to.
Totally.
Oh, my gosh.
That's amazing.
I love that you did that.
Quick question.
Do you own or rent your home?
I'm sure you do.
And I bet it can be hard work.
You know it's easy?
Bundling policies with GEICO.
Geico makes it easy to bundle your homeowners or renters and
along with your auto policy and it's a good thing too because you already have so much to do
around your home go to guyco.com get a quote and see how much you could save it's guyco easy
visit guyco dot com today that's guyco dot com do you have a type oh you do i wish i didn't
you're everyone's allowed to have a type i always love when people say they don't everyone does
everyone has a type i totally have a type i i realized because i used to feel
bad about it like it's not like i don't want to say it's a hype thing but i am i'm five seven i'm a
very like athletic muscular girl like i want to have feel like somebody can make me feel like
safe because i can take care of shit on my for myself if i need oh yeah you can but i want to feel
like very safe with a guy in all ways and so for that like i do i like a very masculine man and that doesn't
I hate saying that.
Like, I don't know the right way to say that because there's nothing wrong.
Like, I want a man that's in touch with his emotions so we can have like emotionally intelligent.
That's part of being masculine.
But that is actually part of being, yeah, I think masculine and just like, um, yeah, like I definitely like somebody who's handy, I feel like is like.
I love a handy man.
Go for, but also like they've got to have some.
Um, very driven, um, funny.
But yeah, like, that's, like, unfortunately, I do, like, I just fall for a Southern
voice so easily.
That's okay.
But I've also realized that, like, I, it's not just, there's just, like, something
about, like, that, like, masculine energy that I really need.
Yeah.
I, I'm the same.
way. I get, I totally understand that. I think a lot of people would understand that. Everybody's got a
type. And like I said earlier, I think it's so, but I used to be like, oh, I don't have a type. And then
I look back on all of my past relationships and I go, oh, I have a type. We all have a type. Whether it's,
it doesn't have to be a look. It's a type. Yeah. And that's okay. Yeah. Like, definitely have to be,
you know, driven. Intelligent. It, but it, it doesn't.
doesn't mean they have to be like, like book worms, but definitely like, even if that means
socially intelligent, like, I know what you mean. I know what you mean. Yeah. And, um, fit. Yeah.
Because like health is important, but also can like get down with a burger and French fries. Well,
yeah. Oh my gosh. What's your favorite cheat meal? By the way, I'm so on those meal plans that you
suggested to me, but what's your favorite cheat meal? Oh.
I mean, I mean, it has three courses to the cheap meat milk.
We're going to have some like chips in guac or pita bread and all the dips possible.
And then I don't know.
I mean, I love a good burger in French fries, honestly.
I'm a sucker for fries.
Fries.
Just fries.
Pizza, a good pizza.
I don't even count that as a cheat meal.
It's like just a necessary once a week thing for me.
I feel like in Mexican food.
Oh, gosh.
I had the most authentic Mexican food the other night.
It was so good.
I know.
I mean, all the food.
Oh, my favorite cheat meal is McDonald's.
Like, hands down.
This is weird because I don't eat meat.
So I'm like fish filet.
with all the fries and then i just want extra fries on top of that or italian i live for spaghetti
oh okay yeah see like i'm i'm like a burgers and fries or like just just all the shit you can
think of like i yeah just love a good cheat meal it's so good it's and it's important i think
everybody's like oh how do you stay fit and you're like well just be i know you said you're not
good at balance, but nobody is. And balance to me is like, I'm going to drink a bottle of wine
and like eat McDonald's. And then through the week, I'm going to be more conscious of my
decisions. And then I'm not going to feel bad about eating crap when I choose to.
Look, I just want to live life. Yeah. And feel like, like having discipline is necessary.
but don't like take the fun out of life and sometimes fun and is having that meal where you're like
allow yourself to enjoy the food in a way that like yeah is it is it the healthiest no but is it
like healthy for your soul yes and if that's McDonald's and that's freaking McDonald's if that's
taco bell or jack in the box or just like for me like I like a really nice nice
nice, boogey burger and fries that are made perfectly.
But then that's it.
I know.
And I think they're the same way as me or a lot of people are the same way.
And I mean, I have questions that are more fun than this, but we'll just, before we get
into that, just ended on this, that I think growing up in a world of pageant or for me,
a dance studio or even girls who don't, just girls who grew up with the social media
comparison just girls who grow up with a normal female brain hormones everything add social media
whatever what is your advice for for girls in their younger years who do the things we've all
done oh i mean comparison really is the thief of joy and i think we spend so much time trying
and I know you've read Untained,
bugling and Doyle too,
but like we all think that there's this
and I too
especially as a young age you see
what this ideal
woman, what is perfect
and you're constantly
striving for that
but realizing that like
that's not even
a thing and you and
I had to go through so
much and so much
like the self
destruction um and spend so much time not allowing myself to really do become the person i was supposed to be
in the pursuit of perfection that doesn't even exist for me and i think that's like what i would
say is like the quicker and the more you can understand and really sit with yourself
and take that time to realize that this object of perfection and beauty and ideal that
we have manufactured is not true the sooner that you realize that the sooner that you're
going to be able to really step into the shoes that were
that were made for you like your exact brand of beauty is is needed your exact brand um
is exactly what you were made to be and that's not anything else somebody's desperately
wanting exactly what you are but if you continue to go go over here and look at what this
person's you know um
is saying is what you're supposed to be, then you're never going to be what like the world is so
desperately needing you to be. And that's just I love I. I always try and say what you just said. I
always I'm not good with words. And I always try and say exactly what you're just saying. The world
needs diversity. The world needs different people, different personalities, different looks for us all
to be happy in life and the second we all start following the Kardashians and I love them
nothing against that but the you know there's so many girls who just go oh okay well I can
look like that if I do this because that's what's shown as beauty to us if we can all just show up
as we are and obviously I'm guilty of it because I get fillers and Botox and I'm always open about
that but the more we can be authentic to who we are and own who we are and know
that the world needs us to know that there's no other you, there's no other me, there's
no other anyone, and the more we see that in each other, the more beautiful people become.
Yeah, but then it's like, it's, yeah, it's just like the more beautiful people become because
you're stepping into your becoming, like we all have a different becoming.
And that's been like so eye-opening for me.
why did for years I like you know I did pageants I did even the bachelorette like you think there's a certain
ideal oh but it needs to be the bachelorette what it means to be miss america miss USA and it's like
if I would have just that the times where I did become the bachelor's at the time that I did win miss alabia me
would say I was like oh yeah because this time I was myself all the times that I tried so
hard and like thought I had meticulously planned it out and researched and done the thing
is when I fell short because no shit I'm going to fall short because I was like being a
a grade B level of basic somebody's like grade A because I'm just trying to be the second version
of them not just like the first version of me.
Let's take a quick break.

You're listening to Off the Vine with Caitlin Bristow.
I know exactly what you're trying to say right now, and I did it to myself with,
and I don't know if this is a thing for each season, but it was like,
the next bachelorette means the new and improved, the next best thing.
And every coming out of it and
such a weak place. Like, obviously you're going to grow from everything you've gone through,
but I came out of it in such a weak place that all the messages I got were, oh, Jojo's the
prettier, better Caitlin. Oh, this is the next best thing. And that's hard to, even though you,
you want to root for that person and you love them and you're able to see it from a point
where it's like, well, of course they're the bachelor. You're still in a bubble of, like, you
probably were in pageants where it's another this kind of female that you're compared to and the
comparison game doesn't stop just because you've achieved what you want i you know you're the bat's ret
you're this you're on this pedestal but now you're compared to the other one and the other one and
the other one and if you can go through those feelings and take a step back and see that those
people can be real allies in your life and friends that that can be such a
a beautiful thing because now I'm like I love Jojo I love her she's someone I love talking to
but in that time of weakness you're comparing so there's so many girls out there who feel weak
in their lives right now who compare their lives to everyone else's but it's like if you can take a
step back and look at it through a different lens of how can that person help me or benefit me
or see the good in them that's going to change your life drastically instead of comparing
yeah absolutely and I
think I hear what you're saying about the Jojo thing, but for me, like, what gave me
kind of the okay, I feel, not even the okay, but the affirmation that, like, it will all
work out me being myself was really you.
I will say, like, I really do, like, mean that, because I didn't watch all the seasons
and everything, but I did kind of start following you.
and I was like okay like we're obvious we are still different but you you do have you are
yourself and very authentic and not cookie cutter and even though I hadn't really watched the
season I did know that yours was different than before and so when I'm waiting on mine to come out
I'm like she survived and is thriving people love her and like I don't know it kind of gave me the
freedom and like I'm thankful for that of like to really be myself and own it because you had
kind of gone through that before in a way that I don't know that many other bacheloretts
kind of fit that mold and if anybody I feel like was a little bit more outside the box
kind of like I feel like I was I think it was you and so I like even before we actually
have gotten closer now like I always kind of felt that connection.
of like somebody got it and kind of went astray in a way and did their own thing and
had to figure it out their own way and so just like you're saying you wish you would have
grown up with that like I'm thankful that I got to see that before and so you you were that
and that's something that is really cool and you should be proud of and something that even though
I like I said there's some things I'm like oh man why did I do that or I
still do believe that I was also able to play that role too. And I'm really thankful that I was able
to do that even though it was hard. I know it was hard for you too. But that means so much to me because
so many people were like, oh my gosh, you know, Hannah comes in and she's doing the things that you
did and she's getting, you know, people. And I said, that's what I wanted. I wanted to get to
that place where it shifted people's thought process and beliefs to know that that's okay
and we're all different and we can all do things that people might not agree with or believe
in or do it and that's okay. I'm so glad that I had anything to do with being a part of that
shift in society so that you could go in and get celebrated for things that you should be
celebrated for when your season did you know bring on the subject of physical relationships
it wasn't done in a way that I think normalized it it was and and I think in my season I don't
know if it necessarily normalized it but I was like especially as somebody who I'm not
I'm not really promiscuous people think and even who cares if you're promiscuous or not but
like that's stupid but like I knew it was important to have those conversations
openly because it is a part of relationships it's a conversation whether you're
comfortable with it or not or it's something you want to do or don't do like why if
we're talking about marriage and engagement and love why are we leaving out
conversations and issues and um just a part
Part of it that is so important because we're trying to hold this pristine, whatever, like I said, that perfect, that is not real ideal of what a black charlorette is supposed to talk about and do and say and be.
It's that same thing as why we talked about so much of Colton's virginity.
It's the same way that each season there's a virgin.
It's because, sure, that's great.
And we can always talk about the virgins and praise them, but we should also praise the people who believe in sex.
and a sexual relationship and because owning it owning who you are exactly and and praising that
person for being authentic about it and I and I hate that you weren't you know and at the time
praise for your authenticity because that is what it was like I was a shit show but I was
authentic like I did not have the fairy tale I did not like in the way of
bachelor a bachelor at have a successful season of what is supposed to happen supposed to happen
but i will think i do think that i was successful in being authentic and i mean 1 000 percent
you were a successful bachelor's because you were true to yourself and you didn't do what the
you know you didn't stick to a lie that the format was or you didn't do you were a success because
you were true to yourself and that's what i think everybody should want to see in that show and i think
that's what we're gonna maybe see with i mean who knows what clara season is but i think maybe we
will see that and maybe we'll get to see two sides of that but but it's to know that we were both
you know we were a part of that and all the girls are a part of that but like really you know
being authentic and that authenticity like kind of moving the needle in the direction to where
years to come the bachelorette's will have more and more freedom to be themselves same thing with
that that's why i was so proud of you with that and even with dancing with stars people are like
oh she got to go on dancing stars you were denied i'm like i spoke up about that so that i could
be so happy when a bachelor's got that opportunity and i think a lot of times people want to think
that women against women i'm like there's one thing to say
women again or there's one there's one way to say women supporting women and then there's another
thing to actually show it and for me that was exactly what i wanted to see i wanted to see a
bachelorette get that role i wanted a bachelorette to be praised for her beliefs and i
wanted it to go the way that it's gone i'm proud because of that it's not oh i walked so she could
run it's not i love that same but i don't want it to be a poor me
And she got it, and I didn't.
I wanted it to be a, I'm so glad I had a part in that so that they got the opportunity that they deserve.
And I just, I just love it.
On that note, I have to ask you a couple of questions from listeners because they're so funny.
One person asked, and I genuinely wanted to ask this myself, but she said, if you didn't have Alan as a partner, who would you want to have as a partner on dancing?
same. Okay. Um, I wanted Val. Yes, because he's, well, this is why I wanted Val in at one place,
because I was like, oh, he's won some mirror balls. He's experienced. He knows and he's good. He's good.
Absolutely. His court, he's really good at like, his choreography is great. I feel like he's been around
the block and yeah he's won and I'm like I I wanted somebody that was going to push me I
definitely did that and I I knew Val would would be tough but like I was like I'm gonna I'm
freaking win I'll do whatever and I had to think like for me not that I'm like an Amazon woman
but some of the guys are actually a lot shorter than you think they are so you have you like
yeah I and so I was like all right who would be mine I kind of knew it would be Alan but
I wanted it to be bail.
That's funny.
And another one of the girls' questions, her name is Jess.
I don't ever know how to pronounce some of these, but she wanted to know what your chemistry
was with Alan because everybody was like, ooh, rooting for you, obviously.
But you guys had such good, I mean, he was so hard on you, but you stood up to him.
And you guys obviously had good chemistry on the dance floor.
Was that something that you ever thought about, she wants to know?
Oh, yeah.
I think because we definitely our relationship was volatile I would say like it was definitely a love we loved each other but we also like wanted to kill each other at times but that's what made the chemistry of you know it was like a up down up down either we were the like most excited people to be there or we were just ready to get done and each other.
so from that there's pat that's passion and so we could like you could see that we were very
connected in that way but also like we didn't kiss we didn't like we were friends but we spent
a lot of time together but there was always that like we were both the same age like he's a
and you had so many people saying you know chiming in on it so we would like tease each other yeah
But I really glad that we were, yeah, it made it fun.
Totally.
But because we never, like, crossed the line, it, like, I think also maybe intensified it.
But now, like, we can actually, like, we are just friends that was able to use, I guess, that, like, tension of, I don't like you, but I do like you.
And, wait, are you kind of hot now?
it's funny because I feel like that happens between it's very different with
artem and I feel like we have such a friendship chemistry but for people who are you know
single or in a place for doing that even even if artem and I were both single I think
there would be zero chemistry in that way I think we're both just very much like we want
to dance no time for anything else which I know you
you guys did too, but it's just different for every couple. Quick pods to talk about things that
smell amazing and make your home beautiful. I'm talking about this new company I discovered called
Capri Blue that is a premium home fragrance, beauty care, and home care brand. Their products are
made right here in the US of A and honestly there's not one thing in their website that I don't
want in my home right the second. Their candles are made from their natural soy wax blended formula.
Their beauty care products are made with clean vegan formula and are cruelty free.
which is important.
Plus, all of their home care products are non-toxic and also clean and cruelty-free.
We love that.
You have to check out their volcano scent.
Yeah, volcano.
It has notes of tropical fruits and sugared citrus, and their customers are absolutely obsessed.
They also just released some amazing holiday fragrances like tinsel and spice.
It smells just like the holidays with sense of juniper berry, cinnamon, vanilla, and more.
Cannot wait to get this one and light it all night while I'm unwinding from the day.
such a good gift for the holidays if you're doing your shopping,
but honestly, their candles and products make perfect gifts all year round.

Now back to Off the Vine with Caitlin Bristow.
I wanted to ask because today was a day for me where I was like, I need to talk to Hannah
because I felt angry and upset and wanted to cry that when Artem was talking to me,
I literally was looking at him going, his hat is orange, his shirt is white, the wall
is black because I was trying to focus on everything else that wouldn't make me cry
because I'm just at a point where I'm like, my body hurts, my brain hurts.
I'm not moving the way you want me to move
and I'm like I need to ask you how I get through this
because we're at week six now
which is basically halfway through a little past
where I'm like how do you
do you just accept the fact that it's going to be hard
from here on out?
Oh like I like I've asked the people
at Dancing with the Star is like if we could get
if there was I feel like they could make a whole
like mini.
series of what would go down in that dance studio me and in Allen and the relate like
I was constantly a psychopath like but it was really intertile I would go from being like
so delirious in like funny and hilarious and just doing the goiest stuff and having the best
time to crying when he would tell me to do it again yeah I couldn't
get it and then like us like fighting and I think there's there's a difference like I think it's so
great that like art um you know has been doing this show for a long time and and Alan had to but
he's also young we're both young and you know his he really wanted to win the mirror ball and like
he knew he had a chance with me and I knew we had a chance and so there was just so much
intense pressure that I let the pressure really get to me sometimes in that studio to where
I like could not make steps like I would be stuck like physically emotionally stuck
and so I guess like it is just kind of accepting that it's going to be hard but you have to
push through and there are many times I would do passes of the dance crying
Really? Okay, that makes, okay, I try not to.
No, I would cry. I would be in, and Alan, is art in Russian?
Yes. Do? Okay. In Russians are pretty like, just, especially dancers. They're pretty like,
well, they, they've, they know one way of how they learned, and that's how they teach.
Yes. And so it would be like, why are you crying or why are you upset? And it's like, it's not really you, but you ask.
that makes me mad at you yeah but it's not you like this is hard like i want to be like
i praise them for having to teach somebody who's never done something to perform on national
television live something in four days but to have especially being an achiever and i think you are
like the pressure of all of that and wanting to be successful but like also like sometimes
not having grace for yourself and like how you said like trying to be okay and and just sometimes
it not clicking and then realizing oh my gosh it's not clicking i don't have time for it not to click
ah like that so then not understanding that sometimes or not like them asking why it's like
why not oh my gosh i can't believe he asked alan would ask you why because that's so funny
I literally try not to cry because Artem goes like, why are you not getting this?
And I'm like, because I've never done this before.
And I get really frustrated because I'm like, I'm trying my hardest.
This is literally I'm giving you my best.
I never go, you're not trying.
When somebody says to me, you would say to me, you're not trying.
I'm like, I am giving everything.
Like, it's my best day.
no it's not and that's also upsetting me but you telling me i'm not trying yeah it makes me want to
leave this building i'm i was very i think because y'all both with allen and i respected each other
but we also were friends and so there was part of me which both of us would overstep the boundary
of being like telling each other off yeah where maybe you i wouldn't suggest that but at least
Yeah, we don't have, like, Artem will sit me down and be such a sweetheart, and he'll be like, I know that I'm being really hard on you.
And I don't want to come across his mean.
And he goes, and I don't want the Russian background to be an excuse because I see how hard you're trying.
He goes, I think I just want you to feel your best when you actually perform it.
So I get this way.
And he said to me, I don't think you're communicating when you get it or not.
And then another frustration I have, and I don't know if I'm sure everyone feels this way coming or being in the show is that everyone's like, well, you have an advantage because like you were a dancer and of course you did that dance well because you're a professional.
And I'm like, well, actually, I cried when I got home because I couldn't get the dance and it reminded me of how I didn't become a professional dancer because I wasn't good enough.
and it's at the end of the day about votes
so which means it makes me feel like it's a popularity contest
Nellie has got a dance vibe down
he's got three million followers
he can easily do a swipe up and get more votes than me
Jeannie Maya is like the most adorable thing on the planet
who people want to tune into and watch
she's just a light on that dance floor
and she has more followers than me
people are actors actresses
AJ has dance background for 27 years
Neve studied this.
They've all got more followers than me.
And at the end of the day, it's about votes too.
And so I'm like, we've all got advantages.
We've all got a special talent to us.
And that's what makes the show so beautiful.
And that's why I love being part of it is because we've all got different things going for us.
And it doesn't mean we have to shit on somebody's dreams because they have any kind of advantage.
We all do.
yeah no I that would bother me a lot too because for me it was like I had a really hard time performing and I'd be like I'm not because and I when people would say to me like well I it would make me so upset when people would almost like discredit my dance because it's like well of course it's no it was like no I busted me ass yeah I cried through the passes I have my foot is a
size 11 right now when I'm normally an eight and I am dancing through that and I've never
danced like this before I also danced when I was 10 12 years before that and never felt good
enough and honestly didn't like the show was so hard for me because it made me revert back to
that dance studio of like yes you're feeling good enough I mean heck I still one and I still like
I'm like, can I dance?
I don't know.
And it was just like so hard for me to then like when I did try so hard to
then hear like, well, of course you did.
Yes.
And then for me, then it makes you think, well, just like you did.
Like, well, this person had more followers than me.
And this person is a trained Broadway star.
This person did this.
I don't know how to perform because I'm not an actress.
Yes.
So that part was really hard for me.
Like I could do the steps, but I could.
couldn't really like it was hard for me to get to that level and like people don't see the hours
and the blood sweat and tears and everything that goes into it everyone it's hard for everyone
in their own way and it's just in general so to do that it's really frustrating and it's hard to see
within the competition of everyone but then also like the the followers and the people that are
social media it's like just be happy for everyone they did well right and i will say and i and i
want to make it clear that i'm so grateful because i did not think i would ever receive this kind of
um love and support on the internet i will say that this is the most supported i've ever felt
online but it does affect me like it always does when people come in and say well of course because
of this. And I'm like, no, we all have something. Let's just all enjoy the fact that it's 2020.
There's two hours of people smiling and dancing on our TVs in our living room. And let's all
just root for each other because even though this is a competition, given the times, we're all
in that ballroom hyping each other up and being like, oh my gosh, I saw you in dress rehearsal and
you crushed it on that one. And everyone knows how hard we're all working in those studios.
and that our freaking feet are killing us and we're seeing PT and we're all coming out of that
physical therapist office taped up and in pain and we're all seeing the results of how hard we've
worked. So I want people who are watching to feel that same way. We'll get back to the podcast in
just one moment. Life today is a lot. Well, that's an understatement. Things have been quite
crazy for the world and for us individually, but it's never been more important to take time for
yourself to just relax and chill out for a sec. So when you choose to turn off and take some time for
yourself, make sure you choose the one beer that's made to chill, and that's Coors Light.
Coors Light is the perfect refreshment when you just need to hit reset.
The mountains on the bottles and cans even turn blue when your beer's cold so you know it's
chill time.
Next time you're taking some time to turn off for a little bit, like watching your favorite
reality show, going golfing, having a socially distance hangout, grab a Coors Light and enjoy.
Coors Light is brewed with a three-step cold process, so it's cold loggered, then cold
filtered and cold package. So like I said, it's legit made to chill. Coors Light was born in the
Rocky Mountains of Colorado, 1978 and is so incredibly crisp and a refreshing, plus only
102 calories, my friends. My favorite time to crack open to Coors Light is when I have some
quality Zoom time with my friends or fam, or after a long day of meetings, rehearsals. It's the best
feeling. Try it for yourself. Tell me what you think. When you want to reset, reach for the beer
that's made to chill. You can have Coorslight delivered by going to get.coorslight.com.
and finding a local delivery option near you.
Celebrate responsibly, Coors Brewing Company, Golden, Colorado.
Anyways, I just want to say, I adore you.
I think you're one of the best people to come out of this franchise
because of who you are as a human being.
And I went through points where I was like, hello, talk to me.
But that was me being selfish, and I understand everything.
and I just respect the hell out of you.
And I'm so happy that you came on the podcast.
I was really excited to be able to the first thing that I've done and
I'll be your podcast because I do.
I adore you.
And I just like really do respect and look up to you.
And I'm so glad that I've had this time because I want to continue like being able to
have you a part of my life and being a part of yours.
And so to be, I'm like, yay.
I'm just glad that I've finally been able to do your podcast and support you and have a conversation
that I think people should hear us talk because I think we are very similar, but have gone
to, you know, have different views on things, but gone through a similar process and can be
there for each other and support each other. And other women need to see other women supporting
each other. I 1,000 completely agree with everything you said. And I hope you know.
and I was trying to look up my text with one of the executive producers,
because when he reached out to me and said,
we're going to have to reschedule,
my response was,
I completely understand.
I totally get it.
This is,
I can't imagine even doing a podcast in the time where I was,
quote, unquote,
happy and engaged,
let alone going through what you did.
So don't feel bad about it.
And then my thing was I was like,
okay, sure, yeah,
you bailed on a podcast.
where you're going through that.
I'm like, I bailed last night on you.
And I was like, dude, I know we were supposed to podcast last night.
But I was like, I'm so tired and had such a rough rehearsal.
But you know, I totally got it.
I was like, I knew you would in Tuesday.
I was like, I can tell her that.
That's incredible.
And that's what supportive friendships are about.
Like, you didn't even have, you didn't have to like go into it.
You could have just been like, it was a day.
I had to schedule.
And I'd be like, go soak those feet, girl.
Yeah.
And I have to say, it was in my notes, I have to say, I'm just so thankful for how supportive
you are of me going on the show and giving me that foot bath and everything that you've done
and given me advice for.
And I just think it's so cool to have one of those friendships where you have been in the
same position and instead of being competitive, being there for each other.
Because I think it just changes everything and it makes everybody so grateful and happy.
and why not be there for each other
when you've been through something similar.
Yeah, absolutely.
It's also, it's funny because Alan, of course,
like, I'm always going to support Alan.
Yeah, of course.
He'll be like, I know you're going to support Caitlin,
but like, because we are, like you,
I've, like,
even though it took a little bit longer for me to, like,
process everything and really get back connected,
like you are my girl and I'm,
I'm so rooting for you and like it just it does feel like such a connection that was supposed to be supposed to happen and like you said like it's been how many years and like you still became you know got to go on day through the stars and to have somebody even for me like I'm truly like so thankful and proud of everything that you've done but that I have somebody that can relate now is really also great for me too.
And yeah, I'm just really happy for you.
And everybody just, I know you're, if you're listening to this, you're probably voting, but it's so important.
Yeah.
Voting, it's important.
All voting.
Let's just say that.
Yes.
But it is crazy.
I'm like, I don't ever want people to be like, oh, she'll be fine because she's a good dancer.
I'm like, no, vote.
No, I was a psycho.
I remember being like, I don't care.
I'm just going to tell them to vote one more time tonight.
But like, you just got to do it.
Yeah.
No, I totally agree.
And I just, I friggin, you're younger than me and I look up to you.
So I look up to you.
And I'm just excited to actually get to hang out again after.
Oh, my gosh.
Seriously.
And celebrate.
Because we're going to have a lot to celebrate for you.
Oh, and I feel the same way about you.
And I can't wait to see what's coming up and just all the good things you're going to do.
Because 2020 was the perfect year for.
things to just go to shit for you to just like work on you know we can all be a little bit selfish
in this time yes we can all have empathy and compassion for other things that are going on in the
world but for you to work on yourself and to come out of this with so much um that you just have
so much good energy that you're going to channel into what you want to do with the rest of your
life and the fact that you got this time to process and do all that I'm just so excited for
you and everyone's rooting for you and tell wait what's your youtube channel called i think it's just
hannah brown oh it's under your name okay perfect i was like well some people have like these
names or shows or whatever ever but just hannah brown okay i love it it's cool to be able to
have my name because i have the most like generic name there ever was it's hannah brown
well everybody just go support and women supporting women
is everything these days.
And I just appreciate you coming on.

Yeah me too
Me too I'm actually gonna text you when we log off this
