Starting point is 00:02:02 About anything? Yeah, just give me like a good, a good, I mean, we kind of started it with that you picked up poop and... Well, I think I'm drinking a lot lately. Okay. But I don't think I have a problem yet. Welcome to my life. I honestly just said this to Jason where I'm like, I, you know, summer is always so tricky
Starting point is 00:02:20 because it's nice weather. It's like... But then winter comes and you bust open the red. You're right. You're right. But the only time you don't really want to drink is like basically from February to March. Yeah, you're right. It's so hard.
Starting point is 00:02:32 It's so hard. And then my mom, you know, we're like playing cards every night and you don't do that without a drink in your hand. And then somebody, I was telling you this before we started that somebody was like, how do you drink so much wine. What are your secrets? And still stay thin. And I said, you just get used to it. You do not see me naked. That's why, like.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Oh, you look great naked. Well, I'm not mad at how I look naked, but I definitely. I got a foop on these pants. Pupah. Please tell me you know what that's a fan's for. What is it? Fat upper pussy. Look at it.
Starting point is 00:03:05 But what's the A? Where's the A come from? Pharper pussy. What does it mean? I don't know. I'm going to have to Google it. But I feel like I'm like in the worst shape of my life. Even though I'm small doesn't mean I'm, do people just think because you're thin, you're in shape?
Starting point is 00:03:21 Yeah, totally. Not. I'm not. Not at all. But it's also I'm like, I'm like, I'm 34. or I'm not mad at it. No. And like I'm happy.
Starting point is 00:03:28 And there's a picture I have that I want to post actually where I'm like laying down on something and I have short shorts on. And I have one really, really intense dimple on my butt like cellulite where it looks like somebody actually took a stapler to my butt. And I actually think it's kind of cute. I have a push start. Remember my push start? No.
Starting point is 00:03:47 You remember it when you see it. Really? Yeah, same thing. But the other way. Yours goes in, mine goes out. What? I'll show you. Right.
Starting point is 00:03:53 What was it right now? Yeah. Well, I want to see yours. Okay. And I actually think it's cute. Look. Oh, yeah, that is cute. No, mine looks like a big bite.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Mine looks like a bite. Look it. I have never seen that in my life. And Justin calls it my push start. And now Leo calls it the push start. He tries to fire me up in the morning. It looks like a little button. It does look like a little button.
Starting point is 00:04:13 I kind of like it. It's your push start. You start the day. Leo pushes it and here we go. You don't know what it's from. I don't know. Had it your whole life? Since I was like 16, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:23 What? I've never noticed. that ever I didn't know about your push start button but who cares about well that's what I'm that's what my I was going to transition into is like I don't know if it's age or conversations people are now having the raw beauty and all that and like being more aware of it but I just really have started caring less yeah and I think that it's awesome because there is a bit of a movement yeah and I think you and I talked about this maybe not but I talked about it raw beauty but I was like it could go like Sarah who Sarah from um have you ever had her on yet
Starting point is 00:04:53 Modern family? No. Oh, bird's papaya. Yes, yes. Yeah, like she has taken it to an amazing level and I love that. But it's funny because then some people were showing pictures of them with like a perfect fit body. And then they were getting body shamed because it wasn't quote unquote real. And it's like, okay.
Starting point is 00:05:11 So really the whole message is it's not like you have to have cellulite or a big bum to be accepted or share it on social media. Some people really like right now in this time of my life, yesterday, I'm kind of bouncing all over place, but yesterday at lunch, all my whole team ordered salads. And I ordered, I ordered French fries, fried prawns, and also the spinach dip with bread. And I was just like eating it. And I was like, you know what? On Annie's first birthday, I'll start to get into it. Like, I'm happy right now. Yeah. This is making me happy this food. Like, I don't care if I can't fit back into my other jeans. But maybe when Annie's first birthday, maybe I'll want to start working out again. And maybe I will want to be fit again. And I can share either body. And as long as I feel
Starting point is 00:05:53 comfortable my own skin, it doesn't matter. So whether you want to be fit like Rachel Parcell or like whoever is out there busting their ass to have like this rock hard body or whether you're your bird's papaya who still works out and has like a few dimples and this like curvy butt and body. And she lost like over 100 pounds. So obviously she's got the loose skin and she just rocks it. But it's like the whole point is whatever makes you comfortable, whatever makes you happy. So like if we're lying in bed and we're eating like cheesies and drinking wine and we feel like shit, then maybe that's probably not a good thing. Maybe we actually do need to get. up and start eating healthy and working game. But right now, I like lying in bed, eating cheesies
Starting point is 00:06:27 and drinking my wine and eating like shit. And that makes me happy right now. I am so into that. I am the exact same right now. At this point in my life, I feel like I'm the happiest I've ever been. I'm not the healthiest I've ever been. But like usually I'm, you know, in the gym three or four times a week. I love to box. I love to eat healthy. And right now I'm like, but I don't care. Like I said the other day, I was like, oh my gosh, my stomach. And Jason goes, yeah but you're so happy yeah and I was like you're right yeah that's all that matters yeah that's probably why I have this little bit here and this happening is because I'm just like actually enjoying life right now yeah and I still like encourage people to be healthy to a certain extent
Starting point is 00:07:05 totally yeah but I just whatever your body obviously is like the least interesting part about you and you're just you know like it's it doesn't define you I said something to erin trillor the other day who obviously everybody knows as raw beauty talks and how many times have you had her on here three I think yeah and she was she was like my life coach for well like we had to have conversations every week yeah yeah she does and so she had said something I can't remember what I don't remember how the conversation started and oh it was because someone said I looked pregnant in a photo because my stomach was sticking out yeah and I went and looked and I was like she could look like she's got about exactly but it was cute yeah we're like this right now right and I was like yeah and and I said
Starting point is 00:07:47 something to her or I had pointed something out And I was like, I'm just going to do a post where I'm sticking out my stomach and be like, not pregnant, just happy or something like that. Yeah. And she was like, who cares if your stomach is flat or not? What does that mean about who you are? Yeah. Why would people even care? And like you posted a picture because you were so happy and it was such a cute picture and you probably didn't even look at your tummy and didn't even really care.
Starting point is 00:08:11 No. Because guess what? You didn't care. Exactly. Yeah. And like maybe a year ago, I wouldn't have thought to post that photo. But I was like, it was so cute. It just doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Yeah. And I do love that there are people like everyone says, oh, Instagram, you compare and you're scrolling. But then there. Somebody did message me a little while back on a picture. And they were like, oh, is there a baby in there or something? But didn't offend me at all. I was like, oh, there was. Yeah, there was.
Starting point is 00:08:35 At least I had like, there was like, there was. Yeah, there is one. I'm like, I don't know. Yeah, food babies count. Yeah, thank you. Yeah. I get them all the time. And especially when you are a small person, you show more.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Yeah. But that's, it is nice to follow people. like the birds papaya and raw beauty because they just show you know you're scrolling and you see real stuff okay you know who you should follow that i find is so inspiring wait i want to do a new um segment on my podcast where it's called instagram me where i give out instigramies to instagram who once a week once a week we're going to say we give this person an instagram me and you need to go follow them so who can i give an instagram me too i don't even think she knows i follow her her her name is meg boggs okay and i don't think her and i have much
Starting point is 00:09:21 in common other than like she's a mom like she actually works out hard yeah she works out hard well actually i do think we have a lot in common she works out hard she's got good style yeah she's got lots of cool friends she does cool stuff she's a great instagrammer we've got lots of common but i don't even know if i could show this part of my body just because i don't know if i'm secure with my body but she is but i just think it's freaking beautiful okay i'm going to show you this picture and then you can go through her feed okay yeah but like how what a cool angle i love this photo thing to show her of her body and her baby. And she does this thing where she just like to shake it, shake it like you, whatever.
Starting point is 00:09:54 And they all, all her friends go in slow motion and they like rattle their thighs and their butts and their whatever. Birds Papaya does that too. Yeah. Yeah. She, that's cool. Meg's girl tagged her to do that. Oh, she started the movement. She started the movement.
Starting point is 00:10:06 Meg. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, this is awesome. And it makes me, there was somebody that wrote on one of her pictures or somebody else's pictures or something along. And I think this is how I found her. saying like oh well like you can't be that big and healthy and like yes you can actually it's called genetics not everybody is like not everybody is tiny not everybody is skinny you can this girl
Starting point is 00:10:28 like works her ass off she like works out she goes to the gym she's happy she's beautiful she's a great mom yeah like and i just love following her love going on her feed she's and look where that's got her you know she's got a good eye for like um photography and style right yeah no her feeds beautiful too so M-E-G-D-B-O-G-G-S congratulations on your Instagrammy we'll be accepting speeches oh that's what I should do then people should just give a little like 30 second clip and then I'll play it on the podcast I love that we should start setting them gifts though too oh yeah swag bag so people who are brands where you're so good at swag bags
Starting point is 00:11:04 brand I'm swag bag is my favorite thing so brands who are listening right now yeah what you could do is what you do is if you can't afford like a full partnership with your podcast what you could do is donate to the swag bag and for a smaller amount so you can get a shout out for the swag bag and be like today we're offering whatever let's talk about my partnerships right now la marca bottle of wine and a jofresh jacket yeah and whatever or maybe when you're like contacting me you could say do you have anything to donate for the swag bag and we can donate the swag bag some brands can get their little shout out but then the person who gets the instagram me gets the swag bag that's it that's what's happening yeah i love it do i love swag bags
Starting point is 00:11:42 I love giving shit away. It's so much fun. No, you're right. I am like, you know what my problem is? I'm really good with ideas, but I'm terrible at executing. Cleo. I know. And that's where Cleo comes in for everything.
Starting point is 00:11:53 But that's such a good idea. Yeah. I'm bad at eating team. Should I do it on Off the Vine or Grape Therapy? Oh my God. I don't know. That's something to talk to Cleo about. That's out of money.
Starting point is 00:12:04 That's out of money. All right. Oh, I said it drank a lot lately. Oh, yeah, that's how this all goes started. I remember the confession last time too, and every time you talk to me, I'm like, there must be something better. Okay, I'm disgusting right now. Like, look at my feet.
Starting point is 00:13:06 I'm not taking care of myself. Look how gross I am. Like I talked about how. You're like a gardener. and a like i'm like i'm so look at my toes okay it doesn't look as bad okay your feet actually look really cute like i'm not taking care of myself but there has to be something better are you on wiki feet probably there's a lot of people i'm sure you are yeah your feet look better than mine you're like like you're a gardener a wife a mom a business owner this little entrepreneur like you've just got so much going on and you know you're just you're just you kill life you can't do it all just anybody who's listening and wondering you can't you can't do all those things and take care of yourself or you can't take care of yourself and do all those things.
Starting point is 00:13:43 Something has to give, and right now it's my self-care. But that's okay. I'm still happy. So, oh, wow. Yeah, so is it your self-care? I'll tell you a confession. Okay, I'm ready. So Leo has been coming to bed with us almost every night.
Starting point is 00:13:56 And if somebody listens to our first podcast, I probably talked about sleep training with him. Yes. I worked so hard at sleep training up until he turned basically two and a half and just kind of let it go. I realize I love cuddling with him and he's only in me little for so long. So he's been sleeping with us. bed and he refuses to wear pull-ups and he's almost fully potty trained but i would say two of ten times or three to ten times he pees the bed okay so when he peas the bed with in his crib then that's fine
Starting point is 00:14:21 i just get him naked and bring him into bed with us yeah but sometimes he piece the bed with us and i'm not going to wake up the dogs who will sleep with us and just in and strip the mattress right so i usually just put down a towel yeah so night before last leo peed the bed and i put down a towel and i was like in the morning i'll strip the bed and make it so we just slept in it the rest of the night and you wake up kind of smelling a bit like urine everybody kind of smells like urine but i don't have to I'm to shower yesterday, yada, yada. I was like, whatever, it's fine. My kid's pee.
Starting point is 00:14:43 And then we had a photo shoot to the house, so the girls made the bed for the photo shoot, and then life got busy. And I went to go crawl into bed last night, and I was like, I didn't strip the bed. I was like, I'm just going to sleep in the dirty pee. So we slept in the dirty pee last night. And then Leo peed the bed again last night. Oh, double pee. So then this morning, it's like, oh my God, this bed is so rank.
Starting point is 00:15:03 Like, we all smell like urine. Leo's like, what's that smell, Mama? It's your pee, honey. We've been sleeping in it for two. days. So there's my convention. Pete, that's really funny. It's disgusting. But I bet it's relatable. We did wash the sheets today. Okay, good. We won't go on night three. Okay. I was going to say. But
Starting point is 00:15:21 it's probably so relatable. I'm sure so many moms have done stuff like that, you know? Oh, totally. That's amazing. Okay. We're going to play a couple games. Answer a couple questions, then we'll get you out of here. Okay. Okay. This is one of my favorite games. It's just called the last. You just have to tell me the last thing you did when I ask you this. Okay. Okay. Last person you spoke to from Batch. or world minus me oh my god um oh shit ali fetidowski yeah yeah okay okay last book you read oh my god it's so wrong well i started reading the educated book but the actual last book i read from beginning to end was the um 50 shades of gray like six years ago and i read the whole
Starting point is 00:16:05 trilogy and like do you like it yeah it was the most i've never been like more like turn on and like oh my god I was like a different human being I was like turned off by it oh I loved it so it I feel like that's most people I don't really read oh no I did read a book called how to speak to your child so they will listen to you I did read that bug
Starting point is 00:16:24 great book yeah great book last bad hangover you had probably just camping the night before last oh that looked awesome it was so fun and I think I got drunk by myself but it was still great I mean other people were around me but I was really drinking I always praise myself for not getting hung over. Last night, I drank a bottle of red to myself. Yep, me too. And then I went,
Starting point is 00:16:45 we went back to the lakeside resort in Penticton. And my mom and I were like, everyone went to bed and we were like, let's go get a nightcap. So the two of us went and just hung out on the patio and just, it was so nice. We had two double whiskey and gingers. And then the table next to us started sending us shots of lemon drops. And I cannot drink vodka. I love lemon drops. I Right. I remember that. I can't. And I was like, screw it. I was so hammered. And I was like, I'll do it. And I was doing shots of lemon drops. And this morning. Today? Not anymore. Yeah. But when I woke up, Roman woke me up at 5 a.m. And I was like, oh, how? Do moms. Do it. No. This is what happens to me every time I'm home. And I'm like, Justin, can you please wake up with the kids this morning? He's like, yep, yep. But you have to ask like 15 times. And by the time they actually do it, you're already so annoyed in your awake. You're like, fuck it. Exactly. You're like, I'm up now. Yeah. Go back to bed. You're just more tired. Yeah. That was the game. I want one more. Oh, okay. Um, the last. Um, the last. Um, the last. Um, the last. Um, um, the. Um, um, the. Um, um, the. Um, um, um, um, the. Um, um, um, um, um, um, um. Um. Um. Um. Um. Um The last date night you went on. Never.
Starting point is 00:17:48 But you guys kind of like, you're, you're, we like being with our kids. Yeah. Yeah. Like that's you actually, and then when the kids go to bed, you too enjoy just like a night at home. Totally. Yeah. I don't feel like we really need it right now. I get that.
Starting point is 00:17:58 Okay. Good game. Great game, Caitlin. Wow. Can't wait to play it again. I did like it. Now this one's called your favorite. Okay.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Oh, I like this. Yeah. Your favorite way to de stress. Wine. Yeah, of course. I couldn't say that faster. I didn't even finish sentence. you just knew. Your favorite person to follow on Instagram. Oh, God. Okay. So I love that. Meg Boggs. But I also love
Starting point is 00:18:20 another girl. She is Canadian. And her name is Erica. Um, Shaw. So it's underscore E-R-I-C-A-Shaw. She's a mom of two. And she's so beautiful and cute. And she has the best style and also like a really good feed. And I just like, I don't know. I'm always like, let's go see what Erica is taking pictures of today. So I love her. Okay. Good to know. Your favorite piece of advice you miss 100% of the shots you don't take which is Jason's favorite yeah it's such it's Wayne Gretzky I know I totally believe it you cannot succeed at something if you don't try it's so true and who cares if you fail then get up and try something else again I don't think that's cheesy I actually love that quote too because it's just so bang on look how cute she is oh so cute yeah and she's got an amazing is she wearing um uh shady lady
Starting point is 00:19:09 it looks like it hey look i'm wearing shady lady right now oh i have that same one i i the reason i got this the reason i got this was because i saw you in Vegas with this on i was gonna say say please it's me and look at how cool her nails are all the time like she has time for self-care oh dang i love good nails and um every morning with her kids yeah so her kids play on their devices yeah which maybe i just need to get and she like fully gets ready for the day and i'm like okay i need to get ready for the day i usually like don't like deal with myself until like dinner time yeah so you So what are your thoughts on devices? So we don't even have an iPad or anything like that.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Yeah. And we've actually started telling, like, Leo asked for cartoons in the morning. And I'll say, well, how will we read a book instead? And I would say nine times out of ten, he says, okay. Kids love books. Yeah. So we read a book and he started, like, reading books to Annie and whatnot. So we don't really watch much TV.
Starting point is 00:19:59 And we brought his little, we have like an old iPhone of mine that has a cracks all over the screen. We brought it camping because Justin had to go working the one day and add both kids by myself. so I thought like if I needed like a distraction yeah yeah and he watched like Paw Patrol for like half an hour and that was it so great because first of all kids like when I grew up I could watch TV sometimes right we didn't have devices but I could watch TV sometimes but I just feel like it's nothing I'm not shaming moms who do it because you got to do what you got totally I know you got to do but I just love um when kids get to kind of just use their imagination or I just kind of think it mults you like some parents like well you don't know like I needed my
Starting point is 00:20:38 kid was having a meltdown or whatever, but I found after we started, so we stopped watching TV in the morning and we stopped. So we sometimes will let Leo watch TV during dinner because it helps him stay in focus. But we, after dinner, we don't let him watch any TV. And I actually found his behavior improved and he became like more calm. And so it was a little bit like just like an addiction. There was a period where he's like, oh, TV, please I want our kids. But then if you just say like absolutely not, and you just get through that like one or two days, I found he became like calmer, the more time he spends outside and even camping. He was like more gentle
Starting point is 00:21:11 and more patient. So I do think, especially if you're going through a child who's going through a bit of a time, try removing it and see what happens. That's good advice. I just drink through it. I'm just going to, when I have a kid, you have no idea how much I'm going to message you. You message me all the time. I'm going to go on. Hey guys, I hope
Starting point is 00:21:27 you're enjoying today's episode and we will get right back to it. But first, I wanted to tell you about an app that can help you find your new boo. You know Jason and I are happily going strong, but not everyone can find love through Bachelor Nation. And now I'm turning my attention to helping some of my closest friends find their very own Jason's, the old-fashioned way, through a dating app. I downloaded this new dating app ship that lets you swipe for your friends so I can find the dates
Starting point is 00:21:52 for some of my best friends. And it's great because I get to judge the guy too and make sure he's someone I'd want to go on a double date with. So here's how it works. If you're single, you invite a group of friends to join your crew. And those friends can help you find matches. The best part, if you're not single like me, you can still join to help your friends out and you relax because you don't need to make a profile picture or anything like that. You just join your friend's crew and start swiping. I always wanted to swipe, but I never could because I was taken. I spoke with my friend actually about her experience so far using SHIP and here's what she texted me about it. One of the fun things about ship is that there's a group chat with your crew. I get really nervous about how to start
Starting point is 00:22:28 conversation with guys. So it's been amazing getting advice from my friends. Caitlin, every line you give me is corny, but I love it. Seriously, she told me to to say oh love your shirt is it made of boyfriend material and it actually worked it's funny to see who my friends pick for me my best friend is judgier than i and reads into every picture and every word in the profile but our partner is literally just whipping through the profiles plain hot or not finding a date is more fun if you do it with friends download ship the dating app that lets you swipe with friends that's shi p search for ship dating in the app store and start swiping today uh you drop them off at house
Starting point is 00:23:04 I will Your favorite YouTube video that you've put out Which by the way tell everybody What is your YouTube channel? My YouTube channel I think it's just Jillian Harris Okay But my oh that I've put out of myself
Starting point is 00:23:18 Oh I thought you meant like that I've shared Probably Annie's Not her birth story But when we found out She was a girl or not Yeah Because we had this like gender reveal party
Starting point is 00:23:30 Yeah And my dad wanted it to be a girl so bad Because my dad knew that if we were having a girl I was going to name her Annie and that's after his mom who died like years ago and so I think he just wanted a piece of his mom back so bad when you sent me that video I died I watched it so many times
Starting point is 00:23:44 and so then we're like it's a girl and then the deal was if it was a girl my dad was going to jump into the pool and if it was a boy Justin's dad was going to jump into the pool and our pool has these weird lights that you can change the colors so we that was a perfect gender reveal thing so we gave the ticket to my cousin Dustin
Starting point is 00:24:00 and then he went and pushed the pink button and when it actually blanks it goes like blue, red, orange, pink, and then it stops on the color. And it stopped. And then my dad, like, yeah. And then my dad, like, jumped in and was, like, screaming at the top of his lungs. And it just, like, made me cry. And I've watched it so many times.
Starting point is 00:24:15 I have, too. It made me cry. Yeah. It made me absolutely ball. If you, like, type in, like, Jillian Harris' gender reveal or something, it should come up. Do you tell your birth stories on your YouTube channels? Yes. Okay, good.
Starting point is 00:24:25 Because I wanted to talk about them on the podcast, but we don't have time. So people can go to your YouTube channel and watch. It's crazy. Get the epidural and get the stitches. and my mom and I had a Botox date the other day I loved that it was so fun there's a really good girl in Vernon by the way really yes okay um at Saunders
Starting point is 00:24:43 saunders oh thanks it's Botox and my mom and I did a little Botox date and the girls were like you take this like a champ you don't even flinch like my mom was just like I gave birth to two kids with no drugs and blah blah blah wow I'm actually so funny that you said that because yeah when you first sat down in my head I wish I would have said this out loud, but I can say it to you now.
Starting point is 00:25:06 I was like, oh, I always loved those little cute little lines underneath your eyes. And I just remembered how you hate them. And it's so weird. I love them. They make you look so cute and like young. You said that to me the one when I was at your house when we had that like when I wouldn't leave. Remember when I wouldn't leave? I loved that.
Starting point is 00:25:23 That was the first podcast we did. Yeah. That was really fun. And I was like, I'm so insecure about those lines. I love them. And they only are, you can see them sometimes and certainly. And you're tired or hungover or something like that. Yeah, and then they come out more.
Starting point is 00:25:36 And I can't figure out what they are. And you're like, they look like little bunny lines. They make you look so cute. I'm like, I hate them. And when you first sat down, I was like, oh, I wish I had little lines like that. What? I just remembered you're insecure about them and I loved them. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:25:47 That's like my biggest insecurity. Well, then that's stupid. I know. Well, then that's stupid. But which also means that I'm doing great. Yeah, you're doing good. Yeah, you're doing good. Yeah, you're doing good.
Starting point is 00:25:56 That's your biggest insecurity. Yeah. Okay. last one your favorite thing to eat while you're pregnant probably what's it well my favorite thing to eat in the world okay in general oh yeah spaghetti wait your cookbook yeah Tori yes that spaghetti's in there is so no not that one it was like or maybe it wasn't in there but you said it was going oh the one with the um parsley yeah and the lemon yeah like lemon parsley pasta or whatever is it in the cookbook yeah the cookbook that's also coming okay tell me where people can get the cookbook on your website
Starting point is 00:26:28 Oh, Amazon. No, you can get at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, chapters, yeah, everywhere. That's freaking incredible. Yeah, you can get anywhere. Okay, but for the majority of things. You can pre-order it on all those sites, but in stores. For everything you're doing, people should be following your Instagram and it's on your blog for the most part, right?
Starting point is 00:26:46 Because I feel like we're leaving out so many things that you're doing right now. I'm just here happy to be with you. I'm coming here to promote myself. I came here to bond with you. I know, and I love you. But I bring people in so that we can get their shit out. there too, you know. I just like chatting with you. I know. Sometimes I forget
Starting point is 00:27:02 we're even on a podcast. Oh, no, me too. I'm like, no, I always forget until like it actually goes out and I'm like, oh shit. I said all these things. I said, Queef and fuck. Thank God my mom doesn't have the patience to listen to podcast. Mom, are you there? She's too, no, by now. She's like, no,
Starting point is 00:27:18 I'm out. I'm shutting this off. After Queve, I'm getting out of here. We'll be back with more off the vine with Caitlin Bristow. Now back to Off the Vine with Caitlin Bristow. I'm just going to do three questions from listeners, but Abby Dahl wants to know, do you have any advice on building a business? I'm starting my own business and I work a full-time job. I'm hoping to leave my 9-5 in 2020 because I've always been an entrepreneur and 9-to-5
Starting point is 00:27:46 is not me. I'm launching in Opera. April. Did she say what she's launching? No. Let's see if it's on her page. Abby Duh. Oh, I like her bio.
Starting point is 00:27:58 already. I do things that people say I can't do. I believe in magic. I love dogs and coffee, entrepreneur at heart and I plan to change the world. Oh, cute. I mean, honestly, I get so excited when I hear people saying that because I think we're in a really interesting place in society right now where internet is, there's a good and a bad, like I'm on my phone way too much, but people are on their phones, on their devices. Yeah. Internet, you can get in front of people and you can be a voice. Like, how exciting is it that I have a voice to like a million people to say what's important to me? I know. I know. And before, the only time people would do that is getting on radio or TV.
Starting point is 00:28:31 So now you're able to speak. It's my favorite thing about social media. I love it. So I just think, like, power to you. Go for it. There's going to be some late nights. Like, I'm really lucky right now. I don't work evenings.
Starting point is 00:28:42 I don't work weekends. I've got this system. I've got this team. But you worked hard for that. I've worked hard for that. And there were times that I remember sending Shay emails at like 3.34 in the morning. And you've just got to put the kids to bed, make yourself a coffee, and just give her. Ask your husband or friends for their support.
Starting point is 00:28:58 you know let go of the house a little bit if you can if you let go of yourself a little bit that's okay you don't have to not it doesn't all have to be perfect and just truly believing yourself and don't listen to people when they say it's not going to work or you can't do it you just have to get like so excited and like really think about the possibilities and get super stoked on it just from reading her bio and I believe she's going to be okay she'll be great let us know when you when you hit when you hit the big time because kately and i want to go on your yacht yeah yeah because i'm giving you a shout out whatever you do go follow her and support what she's doing
Starting point is 00:29:28 Lauren wants to know is marriage in your future? Yes, it is. I'm pretty sure we're going to get married next summer. But I'm so busy, when you're going to be there. I'm so busy planning these other parties that I feel like I've kind of put our wedding, not our marriage, but our wedding sort of last. And I feel like we're kind of already married. And also I think I just have so much pressure on our wedding day.
Starting point is 00:29:53 Like all these other parties, I don't really care how they go. Like it's going to be fine regardless. But the wedding is just something. that I just have built up so much that I think I keep putting it off because I'm scared something that's going to go wrong. Like I'm scared somebody's getting drunk and getting a fight or I'm scared that I'm not going to look good that day or it's going to rain or something. So I in fact had a phone call with our wedding planners countdown events last Thursday. And I just like didn't, I just didn't show. And they're like, you didn't show. And I was like, what about next week?
Starting point is 00:30:20 Like I don't know why. I'm terrified of planning my own wedding. I don't know what it is. But we are planning. Yeah, it's the pressure. Yeah. Yeah. Just, I mean, it's easy. to say but you got to let go of that like I know do something that's like you know just a backyard barbecue wedding like I know this we're planning on doing but it's still is stressful I don't know it's going to happen eventually but let me know if I can it is in the future it just might happen when we're like 90 okay that's what you know what that's your life yeah uh what about you is it in your future oh yeah but I don't know when oh it's not fair it was so funny Jason posted a picture being like we're going camping because we went camping last night and we're going to look like where'd you guys
Starting point is 00:31:01 go camping um so my family has been going to the same place for 24 years in penticton my uncle has an RV lot it's um oh gosh is he there all the time every year for 24 years like every weekend um he's they come for four weeks in august it's called south beach gardens and do they get the same RV lot or they own it same they just get the same lot because i was like well i need to put my RV there somewhere because now we have a freaking RV and we don't know where to go. Oh, go there. Yeah. They're amazing. Kim and Harvey, shout out. I lived with them in Summerland. At South Beach Gardens. Kim and Harvey, I'm contacting you immediately. I need a spot for September long weekend. Oh, yeah, they'll hook it up. Yeah. Oh, they're amazing.
Starting point is 00:31:42 Okay. If Casey, Joe wants to know if you could go back to your 27 year old self, what's one piece of advice that you would give. Have more flings. Yeah, I'm into that. I agree. I don't know. I think I just cared so much what everybody thought. And I was. was a bit of a prude. I mean, obviously, safely. Well, maybe it's just because I've had a glass of wine. But I'm sure there must be something more valuable that I could offer you. But I think it's just not care less, but like I feel like.
Starting point is 00:32:10 Forgive yourself, I think. Forgive yourself. Just have more fun and quit worrying about what other people think. Obviously, be kind to others and like follow your dreams and whatnot. Yeah. It doesn't mean you don't have to work hard. But you can also have just have fun. And who cares if somebody thinks you're doing.
Starting point is 00:32:27 something that's like not the norm or whatever right do whatever you want take off your shirt and run through the streets yes that's the best advice anyone's ever getting on the year's is right before i went on the bachelor i went on the bachelor when i was 29 you're 29 i was too and i feel like not a lot of people out of that age we were old we were for that we still look 29 we really do we've done great all that Botox and yeah exactly it does wonders but that's so funny because everybody I see going on now is like 24 they're not ready no they are not ready uh okay last question oh wait I I hope you go through these because there's some really nice are they on your thing yeah yeah I'll go through them tonight okay yeah and I want to pick a good one for the last one
Starting point is 00:33:14 um a lot of people asking about the wedding did you get a lip done too your lips look really great lip flip so you do um the Botox above the lip yeah and it flips it out so that you don't have to do the in the lip You just do above? They look really good right now. Thanks. I'm really happy with them. Elizabeth in Nashville. She is the one and only like...
Starting point is 00:33:34 Elizabeth and Nashville. Well, I haven't really tried many other people. Okay. Oh, okay. I like this question. Chels wants to know what's your favorite part of our friendship. Mine and yours. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:43 I think like literally it does not matter. We can say whatever we want around each other. I think we both remember important things about each other, which is really cool. And sometimes we'll go forever without talking to each other or seeing each other. Like you've been here for two weeks. And I kind of feel like, guilty i thought should i go reach out but you don't feel guilty i'm feeling guilty but we like are just like i think that we actually have like a really true friendship yeah and we don't have to put a lot
Starting point is 00:34:04 of effort into it no i actually agree with everything you just said because we're both the kind of people too were like if you need to bail or if like like last minute something i was like i don't care like we'll figure it out and then when we do you were like i'm so sorry i said i was going but i can't i'm like don't care whatever yeah come next time if i did care i'd be like kentland no you're coming get in the car and come like i will tell you also really cute was when we did the Quailsgate long table dinner and it was so funny because you came with me and we took Justin's old beater truck because we were going to leave it there overnight. That was just last summer.
Starting point is 00:34:35 Yes. And we went and we were like, enjoy it. And you were like, oh, I don't have to, I'm not here for something. Like, I don't have to commit. And I was like, no, I just wanted you to come as my friend. You're like, wow. I thought I had to like post something or like, do something. I was like, no, I genuinely just wanted to have a dinner and drinks with you.
Starting point is 00:34:50 It was so nice. Yeah. And then we had a really good conversation and it was just like a nice. Oh, we should do that again. Okay, we get, we should do. When Jason comes, let's go on a for some, let's have a forsome, let's go on a for some golf trip. Okay. Golf trip, golf game.
Starting point is 00:35:04 And then we'll have drinks at, we won't, I can tell you where, because we'll come. And then we'll come back to the house. We'll see, if you guys want to sleep over, you can sleep over. Yeah. We'll just see. And out of the pool is nice and hot. No, Jason is dying to me. He says, Jill is the, oh, yeah, I'm bringing him.
Starting point is 00:35:20 Yeah. He said, Jill's the one person you keep talking about like she's your sister. Aw. Because we're Alberta girls And I feel like we're similar And I feel like we just I can't believe you're from Camrose The new girls
Starting point is 00:35:32 I have to give a shout out to Taylor Yeah actually It's funny because we I have two new team members I have six full-time employees No Four full-time Two part-time
Starting point is 00:35:42 Yeah Anyways Taylor is the newest member And she hasn't fully said How much she loves you But when she first started Like her job is creative No digital creator so she's like graphic designer so nothing one of her jobs was to research podcasting
Starting point is 00:36:00 because we want to look into it eventually but anyhow she was like okay so first question I have is Caitlin's coming here for a month do you have plans to be on her podcast I was like no I don't have plans yet but I'm sure we'll figure it out she's like if you do these are the things you should talk about I'm pretty sure I never talked about anything she told me I didn't I looked at my notes twice because I knew we would just talk I'm like can't remember what she was sorry Taylor and I was like yeah it'll be fine it'll be fine she's like have you booked a podcast with kately i'm like i'm like i'm like i don't want to bug her like i'm sure if she was to a podcast with me she will like whatever so as you did and then when she found out that we're working together yesterday we're and she was like do you need a ride
Starting point is 00:36:35 to the podcast i'm like no i can drive she's like okay she's like do you want me to come and shoot some behind the scenes pictures i'm like no she just like loves you so much and and it's all shout out taylor she's doing a great job she's busting her ass and then in the fall it's cookbook and i have a thing coming out which also you're getting it's called the gilly box and this is like my own thing nobody else is like this isn't something i'm just putting my name on right something that i'm doing yeah on my own with my agent yeah tyler who you know yeah and it's going to be amazing you'll get one but it's like a subscription thing so blah blah in the fall you'll get one and then hopefully you'll talk about it okay that's what i was going
Starting point is 00:37:09 to say to wrap it up tell us anything we forgot about that's coming up that you want people to know but like i said everything's on your website or instagram but is there anything that we missed yeah i think just be nice to everybody Angel Because you never know Like and you know If somebody's an asshole to you It's probably just because they're having a really bad day
Starting point is 00:37:28 You actually have taught me a lot about that Just from when I first came off the show Remember I get very overwhelmed With people Taking pictures or I don't know I guess I just wasn't prepared for the level Or the like people wanting photos And you were like
Starting point is 00:37:43 You made it so much fun You were like you just got to be kind to everybody Because you have no idea how much one photo Can go a long way And you started putting drinks on your head and balancing them on your head. Oh my God, I forgot about that. And I was like, that's what I'm going to do.
Starting point is 00:37:55 I'm just going to make it fun. Yeah. And now I've met so many cool people who listen to the podcast who are so invested in like ramen story and Jason and everyone's just so kind that going or being kind goes such a long way. It's hard because you're essentially getting interrupted in whatever you're doing. Right. You're getting interrupted and like sometimes you'll come by the house and sometimes I'm like, oh my God, this is overwhelming.
Starting point is 00:38:16 I'm in my own moment. It's very overwhelming. Yeah. But the problem is is that as soon and I've tried this. before where as soon as you try to like tell like one person like excuse me know this is my private time or like I'm sorry this now is not a good time right first of all that's only one person you've told yeah and it's going to eat you up all day and that's not going to stop the next person yeah coming up so the only thing you can really do is just shake it off and just enjoy it and have
Starting point is 00:38:36 fun with it or even be like I'm so sorry that means it's a bad day but of course that's exactly what I do yeah or whatever and then they have such a good lasting memory and then you go to bed at night feeling happy about it instead of beating yourself up because oh my god I don't know if anybody's listening to it, but this group of wine tour came by my house like a month ago. And I had a lot of anxiety that day. And Justin and I were bickering at each other. And I heard some like girls like giggling and whatnot. And I was like, this is my freaking house. Like, what the heck? They went to your house? Well, people come by the house all the time. All the time. Yeah. But anyways, it's fine. It's our own thing. Like, we should, we should have a better
Starting point is 00:39:09 gauge or whatever. It's fine. We live across a lot of wineries and whatnot. So I went out there and I basically told them like, hey, this isn't cool. Like, this is my private house. And like, we've got children and whatnot. And they just all looked so sad. And I was like, I came back and I was like, I felt like that was the right thing to say, but now I don't think it was. I know. And I'm like, I think I could have done that differently. My mom and dad were there. My mom and dad were like, we are so disappointed in you. Oh, I was like, don't you think that was wrong for them to come by? My dad's like, this is a career you chose. And I was like, sure, true enough. And I was like, okay, let me try something different. So people are going to be
Starting point is 00:39:42 listening to this. And now we're going to have like a lineup. Right. So last week, there was some people walking by and I was like, hey, how do you need? And they're like, yeah, we just moved in. So we went out to talk to them. And then because we went outside of our gate, then somebody drove by and they're like, oh, my God, big fan. I'm like, pull over. And then somebody else came over and they're like, oh, my God, I'm a big fan.
Starting point is 00:39:58 And then we had like 30 people in our front yard. And we were like taking pictures and drinking wine. And it was really awesome. Good for you. And I was like, you know what? That actually was pretty awesome. See, it leaves you feeling better at the end where I know. I totally agree with you because after I say no, I mean, I don't remember the last time I
Starting point is 00:40:12 I've ever said no to anybody. But if I do, I feel awful. Yeah. And this morning, I was running Raman out to go to the bathroom and he was about to, he went to squat like he was going to have an accident in the hotel. So I was running and the girl was like, Caitlin, can you? And I was like, I'm so sorry.
Starting point is 00:40:29 And I was like, and I said, I'm going to be right back though. He's going to put his pantaloons. And I ran to the, and I tried to get back in time to like meet her and say hi. She's gone. And she was gone. And I still feel guilty about it right now. That happened to me at the mall where I was like, I'm so sorry. I have to go.
Starting point is 00:40:44 And then I left and I. So it's just better to be kind. Yeah. But you tried to be kind. Yeah, I did. Rom was going to show his pants. Now I just want him to wear pants. He gets dog boners all the time and I just want to wear pants.
Starting point is 00:40:56 Oh, yeah. Wait until you have a three-year-old and they wake up with one. Oh, they get boners? What's this? Oh. Well, it's a, it's a, you're like, it's, well, look it. It's beautiful day outside. Oh, let's go play in the pool.
Starting point is 00:41:09 That's amazing. Thank you so much for being here. Cheers. I'll pour a sip. A sip for the chairs. I don't want to make you cry, but this is for Bumba. Oh, my God. love this yeah you guys boom bye is my grandma who died um a month ago basically today wait can i tell
Starting point is 00:41:25 you story about her please okay i know that our guys are like you're like okay so i'm good i got time okay when do you want me to wake annie up oh god oh she she's still snoozing yeah she had her vaccinations today oh oh um okay so fuck my grandma's uh celebration of life was the best thing ever this is what my final thing i want to tell people okay funerals need to change unless it was like really tragic or something like I understand but um so my grandma was actually doing fine people know from watching my insta stories and my grandma's like a big part of her life she's so fun and so like unapologetic and so like I love seeing her on your stories I did yeah she's so non-judgmental she loves like her vodka I got her name tattooed on her foot for 80th yeah she always told us that
Starting point is 00:42:08 she wanted a party for her um when she died she wanted like a sad funeral so she had to go to the hospital because she had a little thing on her leg and then just something happened there she just I don't know what freaking happened, but her kidney started to fail. And the hospital's like, you've got to get down here. So everybody was there from like 10 o'clock at night to like three in the morning. And we had the best time with her. Like we made fun of her. We laughed with her.
Starting point is 00:42:31 She was like, I was like, oh, grandma, like what's going on? Like, where are you going to go? And she was like, oh, I'm going to be here in the morning and you guys. And I'm going to be laughing at you guys. It was amazing. But she looked at me and she said, and this is no offense to anybody who obviously does have a funeral or wedding at a church, our family. some of us are baptized. We're kind of spiritual, but we're just not very church people.
Starting point is 00:42:51 And that's just the way we are. So she was like, I don't want to be in a box in a church that I just don't want that. And I said, well, what do you want? And she kind of looked at me like, what are the other options? Like, that's all my grandma's known. As every funeral she's ever gone to, that's what it's been. And I looked at her because we've had a lot of events at her house. And I said, do you want it to be a big shindig at, like, my house?
Starting point is 00:43:11 And she goes, yeah, she goes like this. She always went, that's it. That's it. I'm like, okay, fair enough. So we chatted with her for the rest of the night. And then after she passed the next day, they start talking about funeral plans. And I was like,
Starting point is 00:43:23 Grandma did say that she would be okay with it if it's a big shindig at the house. And everybody was like, we would love that. But there's going to be like 150 people there. That's just like a wedding. Like, are you okay with that? You have basically two weeks to plan it.
Starting point is 00:43:33 And I was like, I'll take two weeks off of work. Let's do it. So rewind a year ago on Leo's first birthday, Justin's best friend, Warrick, if you follow my Instagram, you might want to follow Wark. He's like such an interesting fellow. He, like, builds cars on stuff.
Starting point is 00:43:46 He grows his own weed. We don't smoke weed at all. even though it looks like I do right now. I'm wearing like a tie-dye shirt and like high-wasted jeans. We don't really smoke weed, but we're not against it. We're like very like whatever.
Starting point is 00:43:56 I was pregnant with Annie and work comes running upstairs and he was like, can I get your grandma high? I can't believe I'm telling the story to the public. I haven't told the story on my Instagram. So this is my confession. Yeah. And I'm like, does she want to get high?
Starting point is 00:44:11 And he's like, I think she does. I was like, well, sure. So we have this video of my grandma smoking a joint on Leo's second birthday. Leo was asleep. Everybody had gone to sleep. there's no kids around, just anybody who was wondering. And everybody was giggling and my grandma was coughing. And so that was like a bond.
Starting point is 00:44:24 Warwick and my grandma always had a bond because Warwick is just like an old soul. And then we sat and chatted and whatnot. So anyways, I asked Warwick if he would come up for her celebration of life because we wanted to do like a whole big part about Caesars. Because grandma loves Caesars. So we wanted us kids to do a toast like us grandkids. And then we would go cheers to March because we did it on our birthday. And we'd say like happy birthday March.
Starting point is 00:44:45 I feel like I'm rambling. I'm in the moment right now. No. So anyways, we did this big. amazing speech and I'm crying on like happy birthday grandma and we all cheers yeah well warrick Justin comes up to me like 10 minutes later and he's like oh I got something to tell you and I was like what he's like warwick brought a few of his joints to the funeral and I was like okay that's okay and I'm like they're gone I'm like what do you mean they're gone he's like well he put them out
Starting point is 00:45:10 for the toast so when people were coming up to get their seizures um your family were taking joints at the same time and I was like okay wait what and he's like I'm like how many he were there and he was like maybe like 20 or 30 i was like what oh my gosh so everybody here is like justin's like there are quite a few people here who are having a good time i'm like oh my god oh my god oh my god so that the first person i'm thinking is like my auntie patsy who's like the most square lady ever she's like so cute and i'm like is auntie okay and justin's like she's in on it and i was like oh my god are you serious oh my god my auntie patsy hopefully nobody talks on i'm like my mom he's like also your mom i'm like no i'm like auntie debby also auntie
Starting point is 00:45:48 so anyways I'm like Warwick and Warwick's like this was a bond that I had with your grandma I felt like it was my duty he's like I grew it I brought it it was my own like it was my gift smoking one for Bumba so anyways we had such an amazing time we spent the whole night like karaoke and laughing
Starting point is 00:46:04 and like we had such a great time and anyways so now we're cheering to my Bumba she was like the most influential person in my life because she just taught me to like have fun and to just be kind and to not have judgment and so anyways I totally went way overboard on time but No, I love that.
Starting point is 00:46:19 Cheers to Boomba and her life lessons because she probably had a big part of who you are. Oh, yeah. She did.
