I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow. I have my co-pilot with me today, Kat Campbell, who we always watch Love is Blind together. So we have Casey McIntosh

on the podcast today to ask her all of the tough questions and hear what she has to say about her experience on Love is Blind season 9. How are you truly feeling right now in this moment? In this moment? Right now. I feel okay, right now. Okay. Yeah. I'm happy

to be in Nashville. Okay. I'm really good friends here. My friend just had a baby. Oh. It's good vibes to like touch grass. This isn't my entire life. Like there's more than this show. The TV world is like so it's real but it's not real. It's like yes, this is your real life and you are a human being but also it's like it's also a TV show. Yeah. And that's what people have to remember.

I was going to say it's not that deep. It is deep obviously. But it's like. Right. I mean, yeah. Being mean and bullies in cyberbullying is not. It's crazy. Never. Everyone can have opinion. Sure, of course. You, like, signed up to show your life.

When did it stop filming? Yeah. Like, when did you do it? A year and eight months ago. So then after February. Wait, a year and eight. So almost two years. Almost two years ago, this was filmed.

It's like you just did the reunion on Saturday. Oh my gosh. Wait. So this whole time you've just been like, you probably didn't know what it was going to be. No. And you've just been like, do-to-do, do you living your life. And then all of a sudden you're getting. Hit by a truck.

Oh, yeah. So you thought you were like almost got away with murder. I mean, not murder. Like, you thought you were off. Yeah. I actually didn't think I was going to be shown because I left. Like, that's like a huge part of it is I was like, oh, we're, this isn't even going to be my life. Yeah.

At this point, I was like, that would have been way nice. But yeah, it's kind of hard because we're like going back in time. Yeah. Reliving. You've already like this thing. Yeah. And is it so much worse watching? and then it was experiencing?

Yeah. Did you sign up for it? No. I had a girl that kept contacting me to do other stuff, other shows, and I was just like, no, I'm good. Oh, right. Other dating shows. Yeah.

Can we know which one? Married out for sight. Yeah. And it was that soccer one. Soccer one. On peak. Oh, yeah. I interviewed those guys.

Yeah, yeah. Yeah. But, yeah, I was like, no, I'm good. Okay. So why love is blind? Like, why were you like, okay, this is the one I'll do? Well, truly at the time, even though, I mean, it's hard to not like read the comments and listen to whatever things. But truly at the time, I love love.

I've been trying to find love forever. Yeah. And I just have like went through a couple really horrible relationships that were really disposable. Yeah. And I was super pumped of like, okay, nothing I'm doing in Denver is working. Right. Maybe I should try something else. Right.

And unfortunately, that didn't work for me either, but I mean, finding love anywhere is hard. Yeah. But on reality TV, I think is actually harder. And love is blind. Like statistically, it working out for, you know, there's 16 guys, 16 girls, you're not set up to win. No. I mean, I say that about it. Yeah, like find love.

Find love. Well, I always call it when people win the bachelor or the bachelor, I always call it winning because I'm like, well, you technically won because you were the last one. Like, I know what you're saying when you say win, but, um, so what were your expectations going in? I really didn't have any. Yeah. Yeah. Like, you'd watch the show before or no. I had watched the first couple seasons.

Yeah. Um, they told me a week before going. So, oh, wow. I didn't really even know really what to expect. I didn't think I was really on it. This is like a very random question, but like, what do they tell you to pack? Two weeks worth of like day clothes. Yeah.

In the pods. And then nighttime dating. Okay. And then like a week of Mexico closed just in case. But they don't really say like... Yeah, they don't give you like a packing list. Not really. And so you did, okay, you didn't really have expectations going in.

But did you have a type or like an ideal partner that you were looking for? Yeah. I mean, everybody has a type. And like when asking those questions in the pods, like, yeah, there were certain questions. I was like, this is what I do want to ask when I'm in there, which was like, do you want to travel? How active are you? Like, if you're in Denver, it's a pretty active city.

Yeah. And I looked at your social media. Obviously, you like, you love being active. You work out all the time. Yeah. I pretty much just go for like the full of life, life of the party type guy, funny guy. Did you find Patrick funny? Was he funny in the pods?

I don't remember like. I don't really remember him being funny. Not very funny. Okay. Fair enough. Not everybody. Obviously, we all know that you're, you said your ex-boyfriend told you to sign up for this. Yeah, that got like a little like misinterpreted.

Okay. Not a context. Yeah. A little bit. So we were broken up, but I was trying to get back together with him. Okay. Like we were trying to get back together. Yeah.

A little bit. But then this came along and he was just like, I don't want to be with you. Oh. You should go do it. And did that break your heart? Yeah. Yeah. I saw something and you can either confirm or deny, but it, I just saw like the,

because the internet will find who this is. Yeah. Did they find him? They found him. The hockey guy? And he's riding it. Oh, no. Yeah.

He's riding it? Writing the coattels. Like, he's just, yeah. He's, like, ratting it? He's, he's rotten. He's right. My sex talk on the show. Is he?

Yeah. He's like totally taking advantage. because obviously his social media is important to him because that's his career. So he's like, here we go. So is he talking about it? Mm-hmm. Yeah. Oh, no.

Have you talked to him all the time since all of this? Yeah, I have. Are you mad or is it like a toxic connection still? I just hate talking about him because he's going to suck this up. We're just always toxic. He's one of those people that I've talked to every day since I met him. Mm-hmm. You know, I was at the reunion when he released his.

tell-all thing and i came off and i got my phone back and i was like what the frick he released a tell-all yeah of what we were and he said we were never together and i was like you're funny yeah but i don't need well now i'm releasing the tell-all we were together well this is your chance to have your side of it seriously we were together for like three months before i found out he was cheating on me And then we, yeah, I was not good. And then we were just like, oh, he's like, I love you. And we were doing long distance. So I would like, we'd fly back and forth to see each other.

We talk all the time. So you're definitely dating. You're dropping elwhombs and traveling to be together. Yeah. Yeah. Oh. So what does he say now if you're like, why would you say that? Like, why are you saying we're not together if we were?

I don't even, I didn't even bring it up anymore. Yeah. Okay. That's good. You probably feel stupid being like, we weren't dating if I said go on the show. you know right like an ego thing i don't know yeah he's when you go on the show to like it'll change your life and you want to find love and this is an opportunity to do that yeah and any part of you want to go on the show for like social media exposure no it's the wrong show to go on for that

like i have to clear that out right now clear it year and eight months yeah later that's insanity yeah i left which doesn't guarantee anything right you said you didn't know you'd be shown it's Yeah, it's a traumatizing experience. I wish everybody could honestly experience because it's interesting. Yeah. But no, like my, it's so sad to me right now. I think this is the hardest part is I'm looking at how great my life was before this show. And now I'm like, dang.

It will go back. I hope. That's what I mean, you even said, you're like, it didn't look good. No, it's not me. Did it look different than it was? Yes. How? We don't even have it.

a connection on there. I'm like shocked people like he wanted to propose to that like in what you saw what I saw what I was watching and we're there 10 days yeah hours on end and I think total it was like eight to 10 minutes of me of us and it's just like you missed so much in between right so what was the in between that we missed like from okay let's start it like you go in the pods you have, did you have a connection with anyone else? You have to have like connections, but he was always like my number one. What do you mean you have to have connections? So you go from 16 people to 8 on the first day.

And then I think it's like 8 to 6, 6 to 4, 3 to 1. And of those, did you have like good connections? Like, was there anyone else that you really liked? I, my top three were Joe, Mike, and Patrick. And then, so you had the closest bond with Patrick out of all of them? Mm-hmm. Okay. Yeah.

And then when you, the doors, oh, you guys have this. So he proposed? Yes. Okay. Question. Did you get to pick out your ring? I told him what I wanted. Oh, the ring thing?

Yeah. I want to talk about the ring thing because two part question. First question is at the beginning, do they say like, what is your ideal ring? Or is it do you go up to the point of getting close to being engaged and then pick it out? You get close to the point. You don't get to pick it out. It just so happens. Like, he was like, well, what kind of ring would you want?

And I was like, oh, what ring did I get? It's a, is it a, is it a, still have it? Yeah, this is a whole thing. Because there's this whole thing about how Patrick says she won't give the ring back. Right. So, okay, let's go back to it. So what shape is it? Was it a pair?

A pair. A pair. Okay. So I said pair. I happen to get the best ring because. Because I said hair and, like, the jeweler guy they deal with happened, that happened to be, like. The nice one. Yeah.

The ring. So when I met up with him at the hotel to say I'm going back, we're going back to Denver. Also, like, they didn't say this. I did say, I'll see you in Denver. I want to try in Denver. Oh, okay. I got back to Denver on a Friday. And this is, I just for timeline.

say you guys get engaged we get engaged you meet in person yes when when that night that night you do the I want to go home because they were picking five couples to go to Baja and there was six engaged they only take five but now they told me what we would have budgeted for six but I didn't know that at the time um it's so hard for me to say because you know like you don't have your phone you don't have family support you have all these people who aren't really looking out for you i don't know if somebody would have told me to sleep on like sleep on it but i don't think so i think it would have been way worse if i went to bot i totally agree yeah i feel like that could have gotten many years yeah i can't fake how i'm feeling it's just obviously how i am it's it was just like this is how i'm feeling let's

just go back to denver i i really thought it is crazy this show i thought i was full blown in love with this man with Patrick yes okay so at this point where you say you don't want to do the show anymore you're still feeling in love with him I yeah like that's why I'm touching him and stuff I feel so bad yeah because I'm like I've never done this like normally I meet a guy and I'm like oh he's hot and I date him or something it was like okay now we're reversing the situation yeah I'm gonna have to take this slower when we go back to Denver right so then that's why you're supposed to spend the night with this person like it's scary that's a lot So then you still have the ring.

So what happened? Because I know this is such a topic. It's such a topic. So yeah, when we were at the hotel, he said, do you have the ring? I said, yeah. And he was like, do you get to keep it? I was like, I don't know. And he's like, I want you to keep it.

And I said, okay, we get back to Denver. I reach out to him. I'm so sick of everything. I ghosted him. I did not. I reached out to him. I have all the texts. And I was like, I'm thinking of you.

they're really I I cared about him like I'm so sorry and he's like was I not your picture perfect man and I'm like no like not no like I was like it's just like a weird experience that I need to slow it down like a little bit and there was stuff going on off camera that I was like I'm good I'm out I'm done with him no with oh production yeah just like things that I was like yeah Because the show says that you told production that you weren't obsessed with his looks. Can you unpack that? I just said, I don't think my attraction can grow this much at this time. You know, you're clearly like having affection with Patrick and you're hugging him and you're crying and you're saying you feel bad. And were you trying to break up with him or you were just trying to leave the show? I was just trying to leave the show. Okay.

So why did he go up to the guys at the saloon, whatever that thing is? And he said she didn't even give it a night. Because I again thought, like, they're only taking five of us. I don't want, I didn't want him to go to bed thinking, I'm engaged, we're going to Baja. Yeah. When I was feeling so much of like, I don't think we should go do that. Yeah. The breaking up over the text at CMPD, it was just miscommunications and text messages.

He wanted an immediate conversation when we got home, like immediate. On camera or off? off camera. He basically wanted, so I got back on a Friday. He, I text him at 6 o'clock. By Saturday morning, he was like, we were all meeting up with the group that night and meeting everybody in person for the first time. And he's like, what are we going to tell people? And I'm like, who cares? Yeah. Just like, that's between us. No, I'm going to tell him you broke it off and you didn't want to go to Baja and you broke out with me. And I was like, that's not it. You're like, that's partially true. I didn't want to go to Baja, but you didn't want to break it off. No, I was like, can we? We just talk Monday or Tuesday. This conversation deserves a little time when I'm less emotional. You're not going to get the answer you want right now. He was like, okay, well, then we went and met up. He barely talked to me.

He came up to me, gave me side ahead. Hi, ex-wifey. And he texts me apology the next day. And then all of a sudden, not like kidding. He was like, did you watch the Oscars with your mom? Also, can I get the ring back for memorabilia? Okay. So, what is, but, but what, but what, but what does production let you keep the ring?

Oh, because Bachelor, you have to be together for two years and then you can keep the ring. Okay. But otherwise you have to give it back. So they're handing out rings like candy and not getting them back. Yeah. Wow. It's on the Bachelor there. Are they real diamonds?

Yeah. These are lab grown. Okay. Yeah. So how much would your ring be worth? I guess my ring was five grand, but if I tried to sell it, which I, have it. Okay. I've heard it's like how, like, there's no point in selling it. Oh, crazy. Why? Don't have value. Well, yeah. So what, why do you want it?

Where is the ring now? Memorabilia. Okay. Let's like he would. Why do I want it? So when I go get my oral change or go the gas station, I am like, yeah. I'm like, don't mess with me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a protection mechanism. Yeah. Now where is the ring? Okay, so I brought the ring to the reunion. Okay. And everybody was like, then why aren't you give it back? And I was like, because he said it was for memorabilia, but I was like, okay. But I was like, I have it with me.

It's yours if you want it. He said yes. Oh, wow. And took the ring. No, you didn't. Is it in front of everyone? Yes. By the way, I was getting booed the entire reunion.

Tell me why you think they're booing you and why they hate you. Why do you think specifically this is happening to you? Is it because of the like- I think it's because I did not up front to his face say, I don't know if attraction can grow to the level of this timeline. Yeah, because because of the thing of you saying like, I'm not obsessed with his looks. Do you feel like, did you feel pressure from production to emphasize looks?

Like was that, did they keep bringing it up? Yeah. Because you clearly still cared about him. No, I legit thought I was very in love with him. Wow. Yeah. Because it must be so confusing to be in love with a person and then question the, like, physical attraction once you're there. Because you've already built the emotional connection. How do you, yeah, mesh the two if it's not there? At what point through the mud and you were like, I don't know, I can't do the show and he's like this and he didn't give me, she didn't even give me a day. At one point, are you like, I actually don't want to be with you and this is cut off?

I did not say, I don't want to be with you. This is done. So how did it end? He told me by that Monday that he respectfully wanted to be friends and respectfully wants the ring back. He's the one who said he wanted to be friends. And I had no idea also watching the Anna connection. I was like, oh, I didn't know it was to that level. Yeah.

At all. I was like, oh, she was not. why did she choose not to or do they not invite her she chose not to i didn't know that was a i thought that was like in the contract i thought so too i asked if you could not go yeah what they say they said you don't have to it's better if you do which it's not going to be better yeah i you've said that you think it's going to be worse why is that because the group mingled a lot after and i dated joe two months after filming what yeah wait do you know this Joe, the one that was with...

Madison. Really? Wait, you dated Joe. Yeah, I've been keeping that one quiet, but now that it came out, here we are. Okay, so you were dating Joe two months after him and Lauren broke up. Megan, or Madison. Sorry. Who are we talking about?

Lauren. Who's Lauren? Who's Lauren? Okay, Joan Madison. Did that come up on the reunion? That was like touchdown. Yeah, that came up. I was shocked.

Did she know Madison? Yeah, she knew. Yeah. Oh, and she was not happy about this. No. Okay. No. Do you regret that? Dating Joe? No. Oh, how did it end? And why? Yeah, it was about two months after filming. I had met him. She claimed I was all over him. That is absolutely not true. I'm not good with my words. I got the reunion. I was just sitting there like, oh, that didn't happen. Like, I was just like, yeah. I'm not good at this. No. I mean, I'm not made for this. Right. But. I was stone cold sober the night I met him. He was already, like, having a hard time with his relationship, and he ended at the night he met me. Nothing happened. He ended at the night?

He ended his engagement the night he met me. Oh, oh, I see, I see. We didn't start talking until about two months after. Crazy thing. So my Grammy was in hospice in May. So I was already, like, screwed up from the show. Yeah. I was in Utah.

Joe's best friend happened to live in my building. And my poor cat Chardonnay, I forgot to, like, have somebody go feed her. Oh, my gosh. I was so madly screwed up. I was like, Joe, oh, my gosh, can you, he had, like, contact me a little. I'm like, can you get your friend to go feed my cat? Yeah. And he was like, wow, you're going through it pretty bad.

Like, your Grammy is dying. We just got off the show. Yeah. My family is not supportive of the show. Oh, no. And they really are not now. Oh, really? Yeah.

Yeah. Like you're feeling that tension. Oh, we're not. They're done. With you? Yes. Your family? Yeah. Yeah. It's bad. They told me not to go on the show. They're like, this is going to happen.

And now it's happened to a level of extreme that I was shocked by. Like, what father wants to watch their daughter talk about their landing strip? Well, my dad had to see some pretty crazy shit. Wait, that breaks my heart. I'm so sorry. Thank you. But, yeah. So anyways, he was like, if you want to talk.

Anyways, we hit it off really quick. He's a funny guy. And it just got like, would we have married each other? So, like, family, our families knew about each other really quick. I think it was just too intense, too quick. But no hard feelings? I mean, I was sad. Yeah.

Yeah. Are you single now? I am. Okay. Yeah, I'm single. Now are you like perfect matches like a hell? know for you or... Hell no.

I can't do this to him. I can't like fake this or try. In your mind, this felt like the most gentle. I thought it was. And it's like, I mean, straddling him is pretty nice. I thought that was a gentle way of saying I'll see you. I'll see that. I thought so too. I thought that was a nice gesture. It was.

That was a nice gesture. That was so romantic. What would you do differently if you would do it again? It's hard for me to say because then I'm like, I should have just gone to Baja. But maybe I would have slept on it. Yeah. Yeah.

But I just don't think we would have ended up together. Right. So I guess doing it differently, I don't really think I can answer that. Yeah. Because you brought up the attraction to production, but did you ever bring it up to him? No. Okay.

And like the thing that got brought up with Brandon, it was a total lie. I was like, this did not happen. This is not true. It's just making like me look like now I like still all these girls men. Right. I'm like sitting there. I'm like, I have one brain cell going. I say this. How am I pulling all these guys? Right. Yeah. If this is the case, I wouldn't have gone on the show. I was like, oh my gosh, it's going to get bad. It was like one thing or another after another.

How do you prepare on taking care of your mental health? Get the fuck off the internet. Yeah. Because I feel like it's one, like you either go, if social media is something you want to do, you either just like suck it up and take that ride. They're like, because I, like, played mini hoop in the name was really good at it. And Patrick supposedly played high school basketball, supposedly. But I'm like the freshman team or because he couldn't make a basket um because they pull out this basketball hoop they're like we're going to shoot three pointers i'm in a dress and heels and chris paul was like if she wins this three point contest you get the ring back stop and you won i won that's funny you can take off your heels i was like i'm good i'm going to shoot and i'm yeah and i i won that is so funny so i have the ring

right. I wish she brought it. You're like, I should have it with me, like at my friend's house. Oh my God. Oh, gosh. Well, why are these girls, why are the girls lying about you is my question? I don't know. It's weird. Like the Kate one, I was like, that's weird. The KB thing with Edmund, um, he did, he did try to like pull him. So I went hung out with them. I was really close with a lot of the people, a lot of the guys too after the show. And like, anyways, I was really close

with KB. She got done filming. I was. I was like, I'll come say hi. Edmund was drunk and was like trying to pull me in a bathroom to talk about KB. But KB was like, why are you pulling her in the bathroom? And it was this whole thing. And I was just like, I don't know what to do. And that brought up, got brought up to him. I was like, oh my gosh, I'm just kidding.

Well, and Madison, like, there was this pool party last August, Mike threw it. And we all went. We all got hammered. Yeah. But Madison was there. and she just found out about Joe and I. Oh, okay. And she pulled me aside to talk.

And I thought it was an okay conversation. Her and I are not friends. Yeah. Like, I did not feel the need to reach out and say, by the way, I'm dating Joe. Nothing. Like, if Joe wanted to, that's on him. Yeah. It's his ex-fiance.

I did not have a relationship with her. And I offhandly made a joke like, oh, we're Eskimo sisters. Like, no. That one didn't land? No. That is a very Canadian. That's a very Canadian. Nate and Joe. Yeah. Like, I'm like, I thought that was funny. Yeah. No. Funny? Not funny. Too soon. Too soon.

How long have they been broken up? I think they broke up in March. It was August. Okay. Drinking, drunk at a pool party doesn't help either. I mean, it was just like, no, like, I don't know. Whoops. Whoops. Well. We live in your arm. Can't be friends with them all. You know, you can't. I really can't. I like to say this when you think about people that are hating. you online. I always think about this. If you walk into a room full of your haters, you would not want to hang out with them anyways and you wouldn't want to take advice from them and you wouldn't care what they thought. And you'd hang out with all them and go like, I don't respect you. You don't respect me. This is all good. If you watch into people who like you'd be friends with them. And that's what you just have to focus on because you would never take advice or like

you would not look up to these people. You don't take advice from people you wouldn't look up to and you definitely would not look up to these people. And I do highly recommend. recommend after the reunion. I know it's so tempting to just see what people are saying. But just like, it would be such a power move to delete your social medias and be like, I'll be back when I'm, when I can have it. You came back in three months.
