I thought Jason Tarduk would do this in true Jason Tarduk fashion. I thought it was going to be so extravagant. I thought we were going to have like a helicopter that landed on the beach in Mexico and then we're going to take horseback riding and like down to then where Luke Combs would be playing our song on the beach and then he'd get down on one knee. That's what I thought Jason was going to plan. But I always wanted something really super intimate. And so you followed those rules.

I always had like the most respect in the world for Ryan Sirhan who closed down Times Square. to propose. I was like, I got to do something like that for Caitlin. And then I realized it's not about extravagant. It's about intimacy. And when it's intimate, how do I get it so that we can have voice and audio and visual forever? I think this was the only way we could do it. And the last thing I'll say is my plan was to do it in Cabo. And then it was about a week before them. I start doing the research with my mom who's super analytical and we realized there could be some serious customs issues. So in seven days, we scrambled to make something as meaningful. We as we could. And that's why when I say, I got you, I feel like so proud because it was just

like a full sprint. I was wearing a shirt that said tequila for breakfast. I was not prepared. I did not see it happening. I was in so much shock. Thank God we have the video because you can just see in my face that I like, like, I thought you didn't hit record that I was like, what do you mean? Anyways, people will hear it. And people will also see that something was in my gut that day where I was in the best mood, having the best podcast. We were dancing. We were singing. We were doing compatibility tests. We were just, I mean, we were. were just it was fun it was the most i've done almost 40 podcasts with you this was the most energy you ever had and the one thing i want to say a little behind the scenes is i call cleo about a week before

i say clee i was going to do in cabo i need i want her to be with her mom and celebrate or do it with her mom can't like here's my idea i tell cleo she goes off you're not going to believe this i was like what she goes we had a wedding scrunchy collection that was supposed to go out last may it got postponed because of covid but we are doing the shoot that we've been planning months. Caitlin knows all about it for this shoot that day that you want to do it. No, we've planned it for a year because it was supposed to be last May and we pushed it to this day.

But she's like, so Caitlin is getting her glam done. She knows that she has to be done up and she knows is a big thing for her due. So she'll be like fully on and prepared. And then when I brought the video guys in, they're guys that I actually met. They're from Nashville. They did some work for us at the Super Bowl.

But we convinced Caitlin that this was like a big content capture for Apple. So, Caitlin was, like, all fired up about this Apple deal. Podcasts is going places. Everyone was it at it. Yeah. You guys, you did get me. And thank God it was an April Fool's joke. So I hope everybody enjoys this just incredible moment that we chose to share with everybody that we'll have forever.

I like the lighter pink. And it's just like everything about it. Unreal. I never like to use this term for business things, but it's sexy. It's sexy. It is, right? It is hot. If you pass it and you're like, you're looking twice.

You're doing double take. It's like, that should be in Walmart. Oh, Wait, it is. Anyways, I think everyone knows that my guest here today is, you're a regular guest at this point. Yeah. We have. And people like it.

And I like it. We've only had one so far that we got in an argument. Yeah. We, yeah, I think if you think about it, we probably from the time we met to the dog announcements, to the arguments, to the moving in together, we've probably had. It's smooth sailing. Yeah. Smooth. Anyone who's listening to this podcast, if you haven't been to Nashville, you need to come. If you have, you need to come back. If you are planning on it, we're going to give you some great spots to go to. And you never know when you're going to just randomly book a trip to Nashville. What do we do when I get to Nashville? When I moved here, the first thing you told me was like, here's this copy and paste.

Use it because people will ask you what's going on in Nashville. I have used that seriously over a hundred of times. I know. And it's changed a little bit because there's new places to go. And we were just partying in Nashville. So this is like perfectly, this is perfect. We had a weekend. We went after it.

That was a blast. It had been a while. You took the broom and you were doing the air guitar. I did. I did it too. And they tried to kick me out. They let you just go. Well, I was really good at it.

Until I pointed, I'm like, how about her? He's like, okay, okay. I was literally standing on the table using a broom, doing a dance, and you did it casually on the corner, you know, just trying to, like, strum to myself. Caitlin's fine. You were having a little solo in the corner. I was the show, and they made you. I was the bass, and I got kicked out.

Just bullshit. That's amazing. So we finally get to see family, which is. Oh, Kate. Well, my family. I still don't get to see everyone who's in Canada, but Mexico. Mexico mom and robber there. And it's been over, it's been a year and a half. It's wild. It's going to be an emotional reunion. It is so overdue. And I feel, because my parents are close and we've been able to manage it appropriately and see them more often. And like, you're always so excited to do it. But I'm also, I like, part of my heart bleeds knowing that you're seeing, you know, my family's your family. But like, you're not. It just makes me realize how much I miss my own family. And then especially as things are progressing here with distribution of the vaccine to like know that we're just like, wait.

and we're waiting for that date that we can see them. Yeah, and it sounds like Alberta and Canada are just blowing it when it comes to the vaccine. Fuck, I know. Sorry, that was aggressive. Your dad's like the most positive human I've ever met in my life, and he is starting to mentally, I feel like, feel it. But I can't get too low on that. We're going to get excited about the trip.

We'll stay high. I'm going to put you in the hot seat and grill you on vacation predictions about my family. I got a question. Are you going to, because one thing you always do is you'll podcast, with your mom or your dad and you'll actually save the audio and sometimes not even use it for a podcast. Are you planning on podcasting with your mom to like do this whole thing and just like keep it in your storage bin so you could listen to it forever one day? Well, yeah, but I'm going to put it out there because everyone needs a little more be in their life.

Yeah, that's true. But travel, like it's kind of back. I heard airports are packed. People are being safe, obviously, and way more comfortable now that everyone's getting vaccinated. And I just feel like case counts have been steady here, especially. They're down, actually. So they're down. And then I got, I'm fully vaccinated.

So I was in New York this past, it was like for two days for a business meeting. And who goes to New York anymore for a business meeting? Have you ever heard of Zoom? It's like, it was one of those deals. It was one of those deals you had to meet in person. But my point was is the airports. The airports were, I'd give it a one through 10, a solid five to six. But now I flew Delta and Delta was back to back.

Like so you know what I'm saying? Remember how it was. like when we were traveling for shows and stuff, they wouldn't have anybody next to you. Yeah. Now it's like fully sitting. Oh, damn. I really enjoyed that.

Yeah, that was like a nice little space. That was a nice touch. That was a silver lining of COVID was a seat next to you being empty. Unbelievable. You had your choice. Isle or window. Doesn't matter.

I think I said you would also love the fact that there was a female Somalia because I've never seen a female Somalia at a steakhouse. I loved it. She knew her shit. And this place just had like a, it had a modern flam. That was really pitchy.

It was like, I don't even know if they moved here, but the whole Bachelor world was here. Yeah, because at first they were like, oh, I'm going to do L.A. And I was always like, why?

And now everyone's coming to Nashville. I'm like, why? Get out. DJ Blake started, though. He was doing something downtown and then like... DJ Blake, is that what we call him now? I don't know. What do you call him?

Go. you like Thompson oh yeah what LA Jackson is out of Jackson I would say Hampton Social yeah it's very oh that's a great place for it's it's a really cool spot but sorry I was gonna keep do you have a list because I was to say best cocktails I don't have a few all right best cocktail spot I really enjoy what's that one um add a boy at a boy is awesome I really enjoy mother's ruin mother's ruin and then what's the other one um old glory I'm kind of over it, but it's cool.

Sit at the bar when you go there because the bartenders are so talented. They are mixologists, and they are really good. Okay. Yeah. Best live music spot. I mean, just anywhere on Broadway, if you're coming to visit. If you're a local, probably not. But if you're visiting, I would say just bar hop on Broadway for live music.

I think two places you get like my favorites. Losers, winners on Demumbrium, though. Yeah. And then Tin roof on Demumbrium is awesome. I think it's Demumbrian. DeMumbrian? No, DeMumbrian. And here we are giving Nashville tips.

Kung Fu, too. That place is fire. They don't have live music. Like day drinking, I'm saying. Yeah, but you said live music. I did, but I'm just saying day drinking. Live music. You like the pedal tour?

You know what? That's other steakhouse that we like Jeffrey's because they have really good sushi. They have cool live music if you sit at the bar there too. Oh, best restaurant in town, by the way? Optimist. It's hot right now. It's hot right now. Next to Bourbon steakhouse, I think it's Optimist.

And Oakoo. Crazy thing, though. if anyone is out there planning any type of anything to come to Nashville. Everything right now is booking like three to four weeks out. You can't get a reservation anywhere. So if you're planning a trip, month, two months, like start right now to get your resos. That's a good point. How about best hotel?

I like the Thompson. I don't really know many hotels in Nashville because we have a house here. I'm going to say the Virgin Hotel is new. It's unreal. Four seasons will be unreal when it opens. Four seasons will be unreal. J.W. Marriott, U.

Never can go wrong there. Thompson. That's where Bourbon Steakhouse is. Yep. And then, wait, there's one more. That's like unreal. The W? No, not the W.

The W's coming. They're doing the W. The Weston. The Weston is unreal, too. And dog friendly. What about favorite activities, like, for those who aren't ragers, like, hikes and parks? So there's, I mean, I'm a golfer. Then the guys are doing a bachelor party.

There is a place in a hermitage golf course. They have these little cottages with four queen beds in each of them that take you right to the course that you can rent and they're cheap on the course they're like they're she there is sheep i said cheap and you said cheap at the same time whoa but they're only 400 bucks you can put five people in there and they're 400 bucks a night oh that's nice where's some other good activities here kate like hiking or anything like percy priest there's great dog parks there's great dog parks honestly just google nashville guru dot com and they always have things that are going on live events through the week what's happening things to do places to stay too yeah and mLS is picking up big

here. They're allowing up to 27,000 people in the stadium. They go through the full protocol and procedure. So those games, you would think, if you're not a soccer fan, you're like what, but they're actually a good time. And they also have a racing track now, like car racing. They're trying to get, they're trying to get like big time racing here. What? Yeah. Oh, and top golf's a spot. Oh, top golf, always. Even if you're not a golfer or go to top golf. I love it there. Let's talk about Mexico because, holy shit, we get to go on a vacation. Not a work thing. It's family time vacation. Mexico, like what, I'm so excited. Probably the most excited I've been since winning the mirror ball. I always have to drop that. Tell me. Do you know I won the Mirabell?

I'm excited to just have a glass of freaking wine on their balcony that looks out over the ocean and hear the waves and play cards and just laugh and dance and cry and do all the things mom and I usually do. All the emotions.

I love it. And your mom is so damn cute. She has been counting down the sleep for like 40 days. Well, we were supposed to go in March. and it got pushed back. But even when we were supposed to go in March, her mom was counting down the sleeps before that, like 50 days. So she had a countdown.

And then the poor trip got to move back another delayed like two months. Yeah. And then she's, so she's been counting down sleeps for like 170 days. Oh, bless her. It is like she's like, she'll text us every morning, two more sleeps. Less less, less. Oh. Less less.

I can't wait. Never in a million years that I think I would not see my family for this long. We're like a tight family. Thank God for a Zoom. I always say that. Imagine we had a baby. So many grandparents are out there missing, seeing their grandchildren, like grow up. I think about my niece and nephew.

I think about having a baby out there. I was like, in your mom's house? I mean, not against it. Wait, you don't have sex in your parents' house? What? Do what? You don't have sex in your parents' house? Is that weird?
