Here's Caitlin.
Okay, everybody, welcome to Off the Vine.
I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow.
I've got a great guest for you in the studio today.
You may know her as winner of CMTs, can you do it?
Did you see that one coming?
No.
You might know her as part of Blake Shelton's team and runner up on season 8 of the voice.
Or you may remember as the girl who took a knee while singing the national anthem at a Titans game.
I know her as a badass girl on Twitter that I felt.
follow and probably saw you on a red carpet like we were saying earlier voice of an angel please
welcome megan lindsay thanks yay we're here we're here we're just okay first of all can we talk about
your hair oh my gosh how long does it stay that bright it what and what color is this that you're
rocking right now it's arctic fox sunset orange i knew it would be a good color yeah yeah it's um it's
uh i keep it on hand and then i just kind of mix it in with my shampoo what so that it
stay as bright. Yeah, I don't know. I probably shouldn't have any hair left, but I do.
So is that all your hair? No. Okay. No way. I was like how, because I mean, I usually, I sometimes
wear extensions and I'm like, how can you color your hair like that and keep it so thick?
No, I have a lot of extensions. Wait, I haven't even poured wine yet. Oh, yeah, we need that.
Rude. What kind of host am I? I usually say, I'm Caitlin Bresso. Wine in hand.
Yeah. Okay, here you go. Do you like Roset, by the way? I mean, I do today. Yeah.
What? Do you not really?
No, I really do.
I don't drink a lot of wine. I know that's terrible.
I don't drink a lot of wine.
I know.
No, that's okay.
I don't drink a lot, period.
But I am, yeah, I'm into this.
Okay.
Well, thanks for taking one for the team.
I mean, you don't have to.
I mean, all the people listening at home right now probably have a glass of wine.
So I wouldn't be drinking alone if you chose not to.
This is really good, though.
It's my favorite.
Everybody knows, Whispering Angel is like one of my favorite rosés.
Okay.
It is.
I'm writing this down.
Delightful.
Yeah.
If I was going to drink one, this is what I would drink.
I know.
Everybody, I always surprise them.
They're like, I'm not the biggest rosé guy.
And then I pour them a glass of whispering angel.
And they're like, J.K.
Right.
Big roségo.
Thank you for being here.
Yeah, thank you.
So, wait, we're talking about your hair.
Oh, I'm already off topic.
Oh, man, this is going to be a long hour.
I'm not going to be helpful with this.
That's going to be a long hour.
So you don't go to a salon.
You do it yourself.
No, my hairdresser does it.
Yon Steinick is my hairdresser.
And he does it.
But then like in between times, I just.
kind of that way it doesn't get like super at all i love bright hair yeah i love it like the
brighter the better yeah i was doing the pastel thing for a while and then i did this and i was like
actually i kind of love it oh i love it and it suits you and it suits your personality thank you
um so tell me i mean you do you think you have a big big personality um i think so were you just
honest and like kind of like edgy i can be very reserved you know it depends on the situation
really that i'm in oh you can read your audience yeah i read my audience yeah i read my audience
I don't know.
I have a lot of strong opinions on things.
I'm pretty vocal about that.
That's why I'm so intrigued.
I want to hear more about this kneeling situation.
Yeah.
It was at a Titans game, right?
It was.
Did people know you were going to do that?
Or did you just like last minute and be like, here I go?
I mean, like a few people that I was, you know, I'm close to knew I was going to do it.
I mean, the Titans certainly didn't know.
What were people's reaction to that?
It was mixed.
It was like very equally mixed, too.
Really?
Mm-hmm.
It was, well, it was also a Seattle game, too, I think.
So it was, you know, different groups of people at the game.
But it was mixed.
I mean, some people were, like, right on and then other people were booing, you know.
Oh, so you got booed out there?
A little bit, yeah.
Oh, my God.
That must be, or did you care?
You probably expected it.
No, I knew.
Yeah, of course.
Yeah.
Of course.
So you just decided because you wanted to stand for something.
So that's what you did.
Yeah.
I felt like it was a very, well, it was like the day after.
after Trump made the comments about the NFL players being, you know, SOPs or whatever, he said.
And so I knew that it was going to be a very watched moment and a very watched game.
And I was like, you know, I feel like in that moment you're making a statement either way, you know.
And so I just, I don't know.
I know where I stand on that issue.
And so I was like, well.
Yeah.
And you're not saying everybody has to be on the same page of you.
That's just the page you're on.
Yeah.
It's the page I'm on.
And I feel like it was important because I'm, you know, I'm white and.
blonde and, you know, come from the country music world. And I feel like we're not, we haven't
been very represented in that movement. And, you know, nobody in the country world's really
been talking about it. And I'm like, I feel like it's important for people, you know,
of color to know that we stand with them. Yeah. That's great. Neil. Good for you. Good for you.
Yeah. Good for you. Right off the bat, I'm going to make you plead the fifth. Yes. I'm going to ask you
three questions. Oh, God. Okay. You have to answer at least one. Okay. I mean, feel free to answer all
through, but you have to plead the fifth to one.
Did you see one Cher did this the other day on the late night show, and they were like...
No, I love Cher.
If she didn't want to answer, she had to eat something gross.
Oh, yeah.
Did you say it was James Corden or somebody?
Oh, I thought it was Jimmy Fallon.
I feel like he does...
No, I could be very wrong, but I just feel like he does games like that all the time.
I think it was James Corden, though.
Oh, I should have made you eat something gross.
No, I'm really glad that's not the game.
Just make me drink the wine.
Yeah, you'll have to take a sip.
But, okay, if you don't answer, you have to take a sip, and then you have to tell
me the truth on one.
Okay.
Deal.
Okay.
First question, what is Blake Shelton's worst habit?
Second question, worst celebrity you've ever met.
And third question, most embarrassing moment of your life.
Oh, God.
Okay.
It has to be like the most embarrassing.
The most embarrassing.
Yeah.
And then you still have to confess, so don't think you're getting away with that.
I have my confession ready.
Okay, good.
Which one do you want to answer?
I'll answer the celebrity one.
Okay.
Isn't that terrible?
Now I'm going to get called out for those.
If I say this, but I just did a show with her.
Okay.
And I'll be real.
I don't know.
Maybe she just is like aloof and you didn't realize she was being this way.
Right.
But Taylor Dane.
Do you remember Taylor Dane?
She was like big in the, in the like early 90s.
So she had like the big hair.
I should know who that is.
I love the 90s.
Yeah.
What did Taylor Dane sing?
Love will lead you back.
Yeah, but what else did she sing?
She sang the upbeat one.
Wait.
Tell it to my heart.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, that was the one.
Yeah, I did a show with her at a theater recently, and I was like, man, she is, like, not friendly.
Really?
Yeah.
What was she doing?
Well, I mean, everybody at the venue was, like, when I got there for sound check, they were like, I was, I was like, I'm a very apologetic because I feel like people, I value people's time.
Are you Canadian?
I'm not.
You're Canadian, right?
And I apologize all the time.
Yeah, I do apologize.
I don't know why I do that.
I need to stop doing that probably.
A habit.
But I always feel, you know, I'm always like, oh, I'm sorry, but can you, like, turn the microphone up?
And they're like, seriously, they're like, nothing could be worse than the sound chick we just had.
So you're fine.
What?
So I was like, okay.
And I was like, you know, I was excited to meet her.
But she was just very, like, you know, she wasn't engaging.
And then she, I made a comment on stage about how I came up, you know, running karaoke and stuff in downtown Nashville.
And then when she was on stage, she was like, well, y'all know, I'm.
no karaoke singer and I was
a little jab was that jabbing me
I don't know but maybe not
maybe not maybe that's her humor
maybe she was being funny you're just being honest
that was your worst so that was one of them
that was just recent so that's one I remember
okay yeah I'll go with that one I mean I didn't know who that was
so you're yeah you might be okay yeah
I know maybe nobody else
I know she was but I mean it's she's old
what show does she have she well she had
she just had songs
Oh, I thought you're saying she had like a TV show or something that you were on.
Well, no, I opened for her like at a show.
Oh, okay.
And like upstate New York.
Ooh, maybe she was like, oh.
She's also like, I think, like from New York, so like city.
So I think that maybe that's part of it.
Yeah, that's just her like her demeanor.
Yeah.
She's a little edgy little.
I mean, I wanted to love her.
And honestly, I loved her show.
I thought she was a badass.
Well, then there you go.
Yeah.
Look, you know what?
Look at you.
Look at me.
Still sending out compliments while she wasn't the best celebrity you've ever met.
It's true.
Okay, best celebrity you've ever met.
Riba.
Duh.
Duh.
Hands down.
Sweet.
Sweet.
I played in the Nashville softball tournament.
The, oh my gosh, I'm blanking on the name.
That's terrible.
I know what you're talking about.
Yes, I know what you're talking about.
I always look at other people like, do you know?
Do you know what it's called?
Anyways, Reba was singing the anthem.
And that was even just like being in her presence, I was like, grieves.
Yeah.
She's awesome.
I did a tour with her.
See, and this is, it was a weird time to tour with her because I had just, I was breaking up with my ex and I was in Steel Magnolia and we were slated for the tour.
Yeah.
And then he went to rehab and then I had to do the tour.
Wait, you can't just say that.
Do people know this?
Yeah, I think they know.
I think, well, they might not remember.
You were in the band, Steele Magnolia with your ex.
With my ex, yeah.
And that's how you won that show.
can you do it? Yes. Okay. Then you went on tour. You guys had broken up. He went to rehab. You went on tour with Riva. Yes. Okay. Yes. That's how it all went down. Okay. But I was out there with her and I was a mess, I think, just because, you know, it's a lot of pressure. Of course. We're together for like six years and then like he's in rehab and then I'm trying to do this tour. Yeah. Of course. That's, you know. It was a lot. It was a lot of like putting on a face. But she was the best person to go through that experience with it. Was she like a mom?
Figure, like, was she comforting and help you through it?
Mm-hmm.
She would, like, call me into our dressing room and, like, have chats with me while she's, like,
getting sprayed in.
No.
Yeah, she's so sweet.
I love her.
She's just a good person.
That's so nice.
Like, I feel like Reba could comfort anyone in tough times.
Like, she just seems like she's that kind of soul.
She's a good, good human.
Yeah.
And, like, every venue we went to, I remember, like, she would, like, know the janitor's name walking
back, you know?
Oh, see, that's so important.
Mm-hmm.
That is something I'll never forget.
One of my girlfriends, Penny, told me when I first came off the show, she said, you remember everybody's name and you thank them on your way in and out.
That's good.
It is.
I try to do that, too.
Yeah.
I'm not as good with the names sometimes.
Well, I'm terrible with names, but just like acknowledging people that are doing just, like, absolutely.
So much for you that other people might not recognize that.
Yeah.
That's important.
It is.
Yeah.
Rebes.
Reeb's lover.
Okay.
Let's clear a few things up about secret clinical.
strength antiperspirant. Number one, it's not actually a secret. You can and should tell everyone
and anyone about it. Two, it's clinically strong, which just means it's good at preventing
sweat. Like, that's twice as good as regular antiperspirin. And that's why it's on the top
shelf. Three, strength is a pretty cool word, if you ask me. You don't really see it a ton on women's
deodorant, I feel like, on the packaging. So they're like, sure, let's shake things up. Four,
unwanted sweating is the worst. Four and a half, not sweating is great. So you should buy secret
clinical strength antiperspirant okay doing my research i'm obsessed with queer eye me too obsessed
i like will rewatch episodes i'm only on the second season right now episode three yeah but i keep
falling asleep because i like put it on when i like get into bed i'm jonathan is like my everything
no like i want to be friends with him okay like i'm pray he listens to your podcast well we're friends
are you okay this well i tell me i mean i'm friends with him the way that we're friends
over Twitter.
So when I started getting obsessed with the show, I was like, ah, I need to obviously follow
Jonathan.
So I go to his Instagram and it said, follow back.
And I was like, what?
I was like, dreams really do come true.
And so I obviously sent him a DM.
And I just went, yes.
And he was like, oh, my God, queen.
Like, and I was like, oh, my God, we're friends.
I'm so jealous.
Yeah, but now I think he's too big time for me.
Is he?
No.
Nah, I don't know.
That's my fear.
I'm just projecting my fears out there
He's not
Absolutely not
I just live for the show
But you have a song
On the show
Don't you?
Well, we did a version
of the theme song
And then we didn't get the theme song
But they used it
They used it
So it's in the first episode
At the end
They used it in the out
For the outro
So that was kind of cool
The first episode
First season
Second season
Oh second season
Yes
Wait wasn't that
Amazing Grace
Or was like the intro
They didn't use my amazing
Grace
I'm like come on guys
What? Come on, Jonathan. I know you're listening.
You know.
One of my friends is executive producer on the show, though, so I'm like, hey, girl.
What's going on?
I just want to be, like, behind the scenes on one of their episodes.
I just want to see how it all goes down.
And I feel like they're very, I mean, who am I to say that people are who they are on TV?
But they feel like it, though.
I really believe that their hearts are that gold.
I think they are.
And I feel like they're all so well-spoken, and they are just changing people's lives.
And even just like, you know how if you're, you obviously get it, you were on a reality show.
You know how when you do interviews and stuff, it's like very produced and they kind of set you up for the, for what to say?
I feel like they don't even have to do work with them.
Like these guys just know.
Yeah.
They're very like, they're all very secure.
And they all have very distinct personalities.
And it just like works.
And they're open about their insecurities.
Right.
Which I love.
I know.
I love gay men.
I am right there with you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Some of my best friends, obviously.
They're just always the most honest accepting people.
Yeah.
And it doesn't get better than that.
No.
I agree.
Hi, Jonathan.
I'm just going to specifically like slide into his DMs again just to tell him like, hey, we sing your praises on off the vine.
You should probably download it and support us.
And follow Megan Lindsay on Instagram.
Yeah.
And leave a rating and review and listen.
All of it.
Listen to your music.
So desperate.
Yeah.
So I don't even care.
I don't care either.
If it was anyone else, I'd play it cool.
But with Jonathan, I'm like, I'm going to show you my insecurities.
I'm scared that you don't want to be my friend and you're too big time.
I was on vacation.
He goes on a lot of vacations.
They really do.
They go to the coolest spots.
They just live the life.
I wonder how often they film, too.
I remember, like, because my friend.
works on the show and she was gone for a long time so they must film a lot how I have not had any
of them on my podcast is beyond me that needs to happen I need to tighten up your game Caitlin so do you
have any new music coming out do you have new music that's come out I do well I put out a record in
November so that one's called bold like a lion it's 12 songs or 13 songs something like that but
I co-wrote all of them amazing yeah and so when you are in the writing process like do you
write all of your music that's it's all like really speaks to you and your experiences or do you do
a mix of everything um i i don't know i'm i feel like i'm a selfish artist and that i probably just
write about my own experiences but i feel like it's very you know i feel like people know when you're
telling the truth exactly and it's relatable because it's like do we've all been through this you know
of course and and i've said this in other podcasts with musicians that other people can take different things
from your songs like what it means to you might might resonate with somebody else something
different right and your your lyrics could mean multiple things to other people so that happens a lot
actually people will write me and I'm like I didn't even think about it like that but I'm glad you know
that's what music is for I remember Ray Lynn tell me that with the her song love triangle
like she's singing about something very oh it's such a good song I love that song and she was
saying that it's like obviously something very specific to her but she said the amount of
people that had reached out and said what it meant to them and their story. And she was like,
wow. Yeah. Like you said, like, I've never thought about it that way. Right. Very cool.
I love that. I love it when that happens. I couldn't tell you what that feels like, but
we need to write a song. Clearly. That's the next step. Well, I was going to say it. I always say,
like, well, I am in Nashville. But I do have friends that are songwriters. I'm actually writing
with somebody on the 17th. Yeah. I love it. I love that. But I'm just always too scared to put
anything out there. No, you just got to do it.
I will.
I will.
I have already.
That's the problem.
Yeah.
And now people have been waiting for it.
And I'm like, yeah, take it, take it.
I'm too scared.
My girlfriend, Tanya, actually worked on that show, Can You Do It?
Oh, really?
It was on CMT, right?
Yeah, yeah, back in the day.
When was back in the day?
2009.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, I'm showing my age now.
So that, well, no.
That was your first experience on TV.
Yeah, this is my first experience doing anything.
think yeah we won so what do you get what was the deal of when you won that show what did you
get um we got a record deal so we signed a big machine and then um yeah that was pretty much it
like you got a deal and so i mean it was a great label to get a deal with oh yeah that's amazing
yeah what label are you with now i'm independent oh isn't that even better it is it's like
there's pros and cons to everything of course you know but i'm enjoying it because i like you know
I'm too independent to not be an independent.
Well, that's what, and I think that, like, shows and things that you do.
Even your Instagram looking at it, I'm like, man, this girl is awesome.
Like, you just, you are who you are.
Yeah.
Nobody rocks hair like that if you're afraid.
That's probably true.
Well, not to mention you pull it off, but that was something on the voice.
You actually were the only or the first contestant to, in voice history, to perform one of your original songs.
Yeah.
How cool is that?
It was really cool.
Did you have to like beg them or were they like, yes, please?
I kind of just went to Blake and I was like, hey, you know, I'd love to do a song that I wrote.
Yeah.
And so he's like, send me some stuff.
So I just send him like three or four songs.
And he just really liked that one.
And so they even let us release our production of it, which they've never done.
So they ended up buying my master and my boyfriend produced it.
Wow.
It was cool.
It's really cool.
Wow, that's amazing.
I just feel like you are someone that seems to stay true to who you are.
and how do you remind yourself the importance of that?
Like, how do you keep, because I find that I'm true to myself, but I have to, like, sometimes I've, sometimes I fail, as we all do.
No, and I do too, you know.
But how do you personally remind yourself the importance of staying true to yourself?
I don't, you know, it's, it's taken me a long time to get to this point, you know, because I mean, I was like, I was signed to a major label and I was media trained to death, you know, to where you're.
you're, like, afraid to say anything at all.
See, I think that's a blessing that I wasn't.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, I definitely was.
And so there was years that I was just afraid to say anything.
And then I just kind of started stepping out, you know, in little increments.
So, like, I remember I played the first concert for love and acceptance during CMA Fest, you know, and that was kind of like a big deal when that happened because it was like, you know, it's just in country music.
People were not supporting the LGBTQ community.
Right.
It wasn't a thing at the time.
I never thought of that.
Yeah, it's insane.
Yeah.
Now it seems really insane.
But so that's kind of, that was like a baby step.
And then I was like, okay, well, I'm going to speak out on this thing and that thing.
And then I just started doing it.
And I was like, okay, well, this is like truly who I am.
And I think it's so important as a musician, you know, when you're writing songs and stuff.
Because I feel like people.
Because like you said, people see through it.
Yeah, they know.
And I think, I mean, I've had this conversation with so many artists.
I'm trying to think of who it was specifically.
Oh, Walker Hayes.
and you know he just he just battled through everything and worked and did everything that he could
because he didn't want to just mold himself into what he thought everybody thought he should be
and he knew that by being true to himself and just sticking through that through hard times
and that that would work out for him eventually like he just didn't have another plan and he was like
no this will work that's the only way it is yeah I think that's the only way and I think I know that
You know, and some of that just comes with being around a long time and age.
No, it really is.
It is.
A lot of it is age, actually.
Yeah.
Just wisdom.
Wisdom.
You're very wise.
I don't know if I'm very wise, but I'm learning, you know.
I'm learning.
I just, you know, I don't know.
I'm at this point where I'm like, okay, I know what's up at the time it is.
That's great.
And you'll probably only get better with that.
Yeah.
Oh, I feel like I'm at my best now.
And that's the thing.
It's like, you know, that's something that hung me up for a long time.
I'm like, oh, I'm going to, you know, I'm getting closer to things.
And then it's like, then I hit 30 and I'm like, I'm worried.
I was so worried about that.
But then now I'm like, I don't know because I think that society just makes us worry about that.
I don't think any more, though.
You don't think so?
Now it's 40.
No, it's 40.
Okay, cool.
But I feel like society now, it's like people do big things in their 30s now.
I know that like I'm just better.
Like my music's better.
Like I'm better as a person.
Like everything's just better now.
Well, being better as a person probably comes through music for you as well.
But I do think that that's something.
I think you just learn so much in your 20s and then I think you turn 30 but nowadays it's like
I don't know maybe 10 years ago like people just thought you need you know have kids right
away and and I mean nothing against that either yeah if that works for you but I just think now
this is why I froze my eggs because I'm like I'm driven and I have a career and I want to do
things and I there's so much more I want to do and I can't wait to have a family but that's just that's
2018 like we're all just yeah I just feel like it's it's kind of a thing now that women are
doing big things and we turn 30 and that's even better and we've got all the time in the
world and we're just doing it I feel like that now yeah well can I ask you your age I'm 32
oh yeah I'm 33 yeah so we're we're right in there you're calling yourself old no I'm just saying
in country music I feel like there's a stigma with women of course
worse, you know. I was going to ask you about that, actually, like, just if you felt like, do you feel now in these times that you're more heard as a woman in the female, like, country industry just because there's more?
Yeah, I think so. I mean, and plus, I've just been super vocal anyways, but I think that, yeah, I think I'm heard. I feel, you know, I've kind of, and my new record is much more like soulful pop, but I'm still very much identified in this country world.
I don't know. So it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, I'm kind of in between, in between and that way. But, um, yeah, I feel like I'm heard that. Do you feel like women still have a long way to go in, in that area? Or do, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I feel like I had a meeting, um, like, I don't know, six months ago or something with a A&R guy. And, um, it was, it's so interesting. Like, my boyfriend went with me and he's a producer, songwriter in town and he goes to a lot of stuff with me. But, um, he went to the bathroom and the guy leaned,
in and he's like, can you tell me how old you are? And I was like, I'm 32. And he was like,
yeah, he's like, the next time someone asked you that, you should probably say seven years younger.
No, he didn't. Like, and this just happened like six months ago. And I was like stunned.
I remember just being like, okay. Yeah, what do you even say? I've, see, this is where I'm like,
I don't know how I'd react to that. I did. And see, this is the thing. And this is like,
I have this persona being so bold and, you know, all this stuff. And to be honest. And to be
Honestly, I just didn't say anything to him.
Well, I was just like, I was trying to get this, to be honest with, to be, to be, I was trying to get a meeting with another guy in New York that he knew.
Yeah.
And so I was like, I was trying to be as nice as I could be in bite my tongue just to try to get this other meeting.
But I'm like, seriously, did he just like say that to me?
That's, I'm embarrassed for him.
Yeah.
He's not, yeah, I don't think he's the most progressive.
But it is interesting.
Like, he's a big A&R guy at a record label.
Well, do you think it's, I mean, I'm trying to think of other situations.
I know two guys that are country singers together in Nashville and their people always tell
them like they need to be younger and be more like relevant and and they make them like color
their gray hair and I'm like that's happening to men too like it's so great and I think gray hair
and men is sexy well that's why I found it so strange that it was two men and you have somebody
telling them that they need to be and look younger, too, for the country industry.
Right.
So to be a woman is like, think about that.
No, I agree with you completely.
And I think about that all the time, too, with just like, I feel like stuff's just beginning
for me.
I feel like there's so much more I want to do.
And music kind of is in there for me.
And I'm like, I'm 33.
Like, by the time I feel confident enough to get anything out there, I'm going to be
close to 34 and no, everyone's going to think I'm just washed up.
No.
No way.
See, I don't think about it when I talk about other people.
I know.
It's only when it pertains to yourself.
You're like, oh, am I getting it, you know.
And that's exactly what I'm thinking.
I don't think I'm too old, but I'm like, I hear stories like that and I'm like, oh, ma'am, what are they going to think?
Right.
Yeah.
I think we're fine.
Edgy Canadian tries to drop a country song at 34.
Bye.
You look 20.
You're fine.
I will say I do look young, but so do you.
Well, thanks.
See, we're up.
We're fine.
So given that it's summertime, all I've been doing is going to barbecues, cookouts, pool parties, outdoor bars.
It's super hard to eat well.
But that's why I love Daily Harvest because it's a subscription service that makes healthy eating easy and requires basically no effort.
Daily Harvest delivers perfectly portion cups of frozen organic fruits and vegetables directly to your door and it stays fresh in the freezer until you're ready to eat it and only takes one step to prepare, which is nice because I just add almond milk or you can add your favorite milk or water to the cup.
Then you just blend it, heat it, soak it.
It's that easy.
It's the perfect thing to have on hand for those days when you don't have time to cook.
Like a lot of times also I like to wake up at the last possible moment before I go work out.
So I can do like overnight oats or their breakfast stuff, like just super quick and easy.
Our smoothies, they're an easy way to guarantee a healthy breakfast, snack.
And they cool you down when it's way too hot out.
I'm not sure if you guys have been to Nashville in the summer.
But and even better they're made to be taken to go, which I always do before the gym.
It's a great option to fall back on, but I actually realize it's becoming my first choice at any time of the day.
So go to daily-dashharvest.com to enter,

Let's confess.
Yeah, because that's on my brain, because you said you have that all lined up, you're teed up.
I have several confessions, but I mean, I've got time.
I've got nothing but time if you'd like to confess a few things.
I will wash away your things.
See how many I'm allowed to confess.
Go for it.
Well, they told me it was the grosser, the better, right?
Yes.
Do they tell you that?
I love that.
They said the gross or the better.
I was like, oh, God.
I don't know how gross I'm getting.
Oh, it gets gross.
I like anything.
I like when people just tell me a deep, dark secret or something that they're embarrassed about.
I don't know that I'm embarrassed.
I'm just not embarrassed about it.
But I am very obsessed with picking, like, hair out of, like, my boyfriend's nose.
Okay.
If he has one hanging, I'm just like, he gets nervous when I come out of him with tweezers.
And then, like, sometimes we'll get a random ear hair.
Yeah.
And I don't know.
It's satisfying.
Yeah, there's something very satisfying.
And I'm like that with pimple, the pimple popping, too.
I mean, I'm one of those people.
Okay.
I like that.
Can I tell you something?
Yeah.
I was doing a podcast with somebody.
It was actually a really tough podcast because it was over the phone and I didn't, I feel like he was rushed and I feel like he wasn't like vibing with me at all.
And it was kind of awkward.
So we took calls and somebody called in and said that she like gets like weird satisfaction from watching videos on YouTube of people popping pimples and like the bigger pimple the better.
I joked and I was like that's not okay I was like that's that's like pretty messed up and I was
obviously joking yeah and I was like oh my I'm like you are not forgiven and then she got really
offended and she like tweeted me being like yeah you know it was fun until you made me feel
stupid and I was like oh my gosh no I would never want to do that I feel bad so now I'm like
you're like great that's not gross at all good for you no it's weird it's gross I know I do
think it's weird, but I kind of understand because
I have an obsession with
plucking hairs. Yeah. The plucking the hair
thing is like, I don't know,
there's something very satisfying about that.
Yeah, I mean, that could be my confession right there.
I plucked a nice black hair
out of my chin this morning. Yeah. No,
I get a few. I look out
it to the guys that I'm in a lot of me.
Yeah. But I did.
There's always like stray hairs in weird places.
Welcome to your 30s, ladies. Yeah, what's going on?
That's it. Hormones.
I don't know.
we deal with a lot yeah okay what's your other confession oh god what was it what was i thinking this
morning oh god i don't know okay i can tell you mine and then okay you can me yours think my confession
is that my google search history it should just be my confession if you just looked at it because
i'm i'm always confused by people being so invested in relationships that they don't know but
I also understand it because I came from a show where people watch us fall in love.
You think.
And they're all like, when are you getting married?
And like, why haven't you guys been like together very often?
And like, why are you, why do I see you in another home?
And I'm like, I don't just stay at my house all the time.
Like, I have friends.
Anyways, so people get very.
And I'm like, I start to get to a point where I'm like, you, you actually think you know certain things about me when you see people who listen to the podcast.
I do feel like they know me a bit better.
But people that are just, you know, followers from the Bachelor days.
Right.
And they see literally 0.01% of my life.
Yeah.
Like I post maybe maybe four times a week.
That would be a lot.
But I do stories every day.
But that's only like if I do five stories in my day, that's 50 seconds of my 24-hour day.
It's really nothing.
It's like, and it's probably at my highest point doing something awesome.
Like I'm, you know, I'm not going to share it when I'm like.
Like everybody else's.
Yeah.
So people think that they know exactly who I am and about my life.
So then I try not to do that.
And then if you look at my Google search history, I am weirdly into Justin Bieber and Haley Baldwin's engagement.
Like I'm like, what?
No, I know.
Me too.
Are you team, what is it, Jaley or Jalina?
I tend to side more with Jalina.
But then, you know, it's like I know how people get all like invested in old relationships.
Right. You know? Yeah. Because people did that to me too. Right. Like,
McNoia, I was like, why are you working up? They're like, that's how we know you. Like, they like root for you, but they don't know everything. Yeah, I'm like, but you didn't date him. Right. Right. Exactly. So I don't know. It's, yeah. But I don't know. It's just weird to me that she was like just dating. What's his name? Sean Mendez, right? Yeah. Like she just did a red carpet with him. Oh, she did?
Yeah, like not that long ago. Or maybe I'm just behind. But I remember seeing it. Like, it felt like a few months.
months ago. And I was like, oh, they're together. And it feels like a few months ago that
Justin and Selena were like back on. Yeah. And then all their songs like, but then I'm like,
is, are they just tricking us? Are we just drinking the Kool-Aid that? I mean, I might be.
I'm for sure. I didn't even realize I was till I looked at until I was like thinking of a confession.
I was like, oh my God. I'm looking at your Google search. I'm drinking the Kool-Lade. Like,
I'm like, are they, was Jalina even a thing again? Or were they doing it to like? Right, to mess with
us. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know either.
I don't think we'll ever know.
I don't either.
Do you think they'll get married?
Do you think they'll make it to the aisle?
I don't know because she's 21 and he's 24.
They're babies.
They're babies.
I mean, I will say I'm rooting for them because I love Justin Bieber so much.
Oh, he's adorable.
I love him.
So I want to like root for his happiness and his well-being because number one, not number one, but one, he's Canadian.
Right.
Two, I just feel like he's a good guy.
He's just, you know, he got a lot of money at a young age and went through some
crap in front of everybody and everyone would have done the same thing.
I cannot even imagine.
No.
I'm really glad the Internet was not a huge thing when I was that age.
Oh.
Or like when I was younger, you know, in like high school.
It wasn't like, it was like my, I think I had a top eight on my space in high school maybe.
I don't even know if I don't even know if I did actually.
I know.
I'm trying to think.
I'm like, I think Facebook became.
a thing in like 12th grade.
Yeah.
Isn't that crazy?
It's great.
Yeah.
I'm super glad about that.
But then I just worry so much for my kids because I'm like, what is going to be the thing when they're in high school?
Yeah.
And then speaking of Selena Gomez, doesn't she direct or produce 13 reasons why?
Does she?
Yeah.
Oh, I love that about her.
Yeah.
I didn't know that.
I can't remember she's the director or producer, but I love her.
She's super talented.
She isn't.
She's really intelligent and I feel like she's done well with the sports.
spotlight at a young age.
She's very much together.
I can tell by her social media.
No, you said that.
And then, like, I'm thinking, well, I've been checking Haley Baldwin's Instagram,
and she hasn't posted anything about the engagement.
And I'm like...
She hasn't?
Maybe she has now.
She's saving it.
Her publicist or her manager is probably like, save it.
Just save it.
He posted, though.
And then she didn't post, like, for at least a day.
She might have posted now.
But I was like, is she even know they're engaged?
Isn't that so funny?
Because I'm like, that is my confession.
Like I question people and how they like judge me and then here I am.
Yeah.
It's like a rabbit hole.
Here we are.
You get on there and you're like, it's a rabbit hole.
That's the suck hole.
I call it the suck hole.
The suck hole.
That's what it is.
You get sucked into the Instagram suck hole and it is a dangerous place to be.
It is.
Twitter?
Everybody's miserable on Twitter.
No, I hate Twitter.
I get on there like, no, I get on there just to be miserable and then I go to Instagram.
I'm all happy.
But that's what I'm saying.
That Instagram, it's like everybody's highlight real and Twitter, everybody's
just miserable.
Yeah, everybody's, yeah, it's like very political on Twitter.
And then, like, Instagram's just like, this is this pretty picture of me.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Isn't that funny?
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
And people always say, oh, I save my photos on Instagram for Twitter.
Like, it's like the ones that don't make the cut for Instagram end up on Twitter.
That's probably true.
Poor Twitter.
Poor Twitter.
It's sad.
I remember I had to speak at this event at, like, this film festival in Utah.
And I had to do, like, a presentation on stage of how social media.
like reaches so many people in so quickly.
So it was when Snapchat was quite big.
And I had accidentally spoiled my season of The Bachelorette on Snapchat.
Like I really didn't mean to.
And I accidentally like sent out a picture of our faces and didn't realize it.
And so I had to do this whole thing on how fast a picture can reach people.
Right.
And I was like, yeah, sometimes I'll go on Twitter and tell people to check my Snapchat.
And all sent all these Twitter people after like came up to me like from headquarters and we're like,
we thought Twitter was like not doing well like we're so happy to hear that you use Twitter as a segue to Snapchat like please keep going with Twitter and stick with us like they were really concerned that Twitter was dying oh wow and now I feel like it's it's kind of back it's back yeah Twitter's back did you think of your other confession oh yeah what was it oh I'm really this is this is an interesting confession but wait what I have a theory what I forgot to tell you actually it was my girlfriend's
like it was like so philosophical and I was like that's really deep and it's a theory and I'm like I kind of tell me if you agree with this well because it's it's the Justin Bieber or Haley Baldwin. Oh we're back to this. Yeah. Sorry. I have to do this before we move on. Don't do it. Haley is K-fed. Selina's Justin Timberlake. So who is? And Justin Bieber is Britney Spears. Yeah. Oh, that totally makes sense. Justin Bieber's Britney Spears. Haley is K-fed. Selina is Justin Timberlick. That makes sense. So Selena needs.
to meet her Jessica Beale.
Yeah.
Okay.
I see that.
Yeah.
That was kind of stupid.
Stupid comment.
I immediately regret cutting you off.
It's a great theory.
It seemed a lot better in my head.
And when my girlfriend was explaining it, I should just have her on to explain it.
Because when she said it, I was like, oh, my gosh, you're right.
Now I said it out loud and I was like, I really cut you off.
Like, I felt like that was important.
Like, I needed to say that.
But it was stupid.
No, it was good.
My mind is a little blown right.
I mean, just sit on it.
Yeah.
Think about it.
Take a knee, if you will.
Hey, now.
Take a knee and think about it.
That's so good.
See what I did there?
You did.
You brought it all back around.
I did.
Full circle.
That's what being a podcast house is all about.
You're like a comedian.
Thank you.
Are we done?
Thank you for saying.
Don't forget to tip your waitress on the way out.
I'm here all night.
Okay.
Oh, yeah, your confession.
Oh, I'm really enjoying weed baths lately.
Weed baths.
Yes.
This is a thing.
So there are these bath salts that you can get.
Of course, you get them at dispensaries in California and Colorado in places where they sell weed.
Okay.
Legally.
But they have weed in them and then you put it in your bath water.
And what does it do?
It's the most amazing thing ever.
But why?
Because you feel like you've just spent four hours at the spa.
What?
Yeah, you like get out and it's just like, I don't know, you're like a noodle.
Your body's high?
Yes.
Off a weed bath?
Yes.
No.
It's the best.
Okay, well, I'm going to have to try it.
I don't know if that's a good comfort.
confession, but that's my confession. No, that's good. I'll take it. Yeah. I'm just confused. Like, well, actually, I'm just intrigued. Yeah. I think because, I don't know. I mean, it, like, it seeps into your pores and stuff, you know? Really? Yeah. So can you, like, go do stuff after? Do you kind of have to, like, low? No. No, I do that at night. Okay. Yeah, before I go to bed. Who has a bath in the morning anyways? I'm, like a bath person. I'm a bath person. Are you? Yeah. I love having a good bath. You have to have a good bath. Do you have a good bathtub? Yeah. They do now. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No.
I'm there.
I'm there.
Yeah.
Yes.
That's how you know you've made it when you have a good bath tub.
I have a good bath tub, yeah.
I hear you.
I have actually a really terrible bathroom.
Do you?
Yeah.
Our house is really nice, but it's like a, the bathrooms need to be redone.
Okay.
But I do have a solid tub.
That's good.
Yeah.
I mean, my tub's okay.
It's not great.
I'm getting there.
But it's good.
It's better than my tub in my 20s.
I'm so intrigued.
I'm definitely going to try the weed bath.
No, you got to try the weed bath.
It's the best.
You're going to be like, it's so calming.
Yeah.
Just, I don't know.
You stop selling.
You've already sold.
No, you'll sleep your best night of sleep.
Yep, I believe you.
I believe you.
They have bath bombs too.
I have weed in them.
I need to know.
They do?
Yeah.
Because I'm a big bath bomb guy.
Yeah.
Okay.
You just cut it in fours and do fourth.
Don't do a whole thing.
Oh, you'll just be too messed up?
It's too much.
Stop.
Yeah.
Oh, you can like overdose on weed baths?
No, I mean, it's still good.
It's just how high do you want to be?
Really?
Yeah.
Sorry.
That might be an appropriate.
I don't know.
No, no, no.
It's not inappropriate.
Okay.
My last confession on my last podcast was that I got high and ate like eight tubs of ice cream.
Okay, good.
I feel so not alone now.
Oh, yeah.
No, no, don't feel alone here.
You've got all the vinos listening and they are like the most accepting people in the world.
Oh, good.
Oh, they love everybody.
They're so kind.
Oh, good.
There's one little bitch on Twitter today, but I have a few.
It's fine.
I've blocked a few people this week.
But I was like, wait.
Why do you actually listen to an hour of me talking if you don't like me?
If you hate it.
I know.
Somebody, like, puts mean faces on every photo I post.
I noticed this today because, like, Jeremy and I were looking my picture.
He's like, who would write to put a mean face on that?
I'm like, I know exactly who that guy is because he does it on every picture.
Did you see the guy that sent us a tweet of penises today?
No.
Oh, I have to go.
It was very, it was, no, I reported it and blocked and, like, it's probably gone.
But it was, it was very inappropriate.
Was pictures of his penis, sir?
I don't know whose penis it was.
But it was, you could see their face.
Oh, God, yuck.
Two of them, actually.
Oh.
Yeah.
I get picks in my inbox a lot.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You probably get that too.
I used to.
Mm-hmm.
Actually, I rarely look at my inbox now just because.
Yeah.
I don't.
I try not to, but, yeah.
I mean, I want, it's really nice to see, like, nice messages, but also I'm like, maybe I
could go for a jog instead.
Yeah.
I mean, I'm with you.
I try really hard to not spend too much time on social media.
lately because it is soul-sucking.
Yeah.
The suck hole.
But, yeah, I sent out a tweet about asking you questions and immediately within like five seconds, two dick picks.
Oh, directed towards both of us.
And I was like, report.
Report.
Inappropriate.
Block.
Yeah.
Get out of here.
You are blocked.
You get out of here.
Gross.
Yeah, it was real gross.
Nobody wants to see that.
It was not a nice one either.
No.
No, I'm good.
I'm great.
Even if it was a nice one, I'd still report it.
I'd still be good.
I'm still okay.
Nobody needs to see a penis.
No, it's not.
Sorry, guys.
Good about that.
Sorry.
Another confession for you.
Penises are gross.
Anyways, now I know we've talked about your amazing hair, and if you picture any celebrity
with amazing hair, I feel like you can bet they have a stylist who clued them into
sugar bear hair.
It's definitely a bestseller on Amazon.
I was reading the ratings.
People love this stuff.
Sugar bear hair is definitely a bestseller.
They taste like sweet, delicious candy, made with the juice of real berries, but they contain everything
that you need for strong.
and healthier hair. There's as much vitamin A as four cups of broccoli, as much vitamin C as one
cup of cranberries, and as much vitamin B12 as four organic eggs, which is insane. I had Whitney
over this past weekend, and she was like, your hair looks so thick, and she felt it, and I was
like, mm-hmm, I feel like it's sugar-bear hair. Nutrients and sugar-bear hair fans also found
that their nails and skin quality improved over time. So go to sugarbarehair.com slash
fine for beautiful hair and a healthier you. That's sugarbarehair.com.com
slash fine. Oh, oh, that's what I wanted to ask you. Oh, my gosh. I can't believe it's taking me this long.
Tell me, please, about your spider bite. Oh, God. I remember laying in my bed and reading that story and looking into it and, like, what kind of spy. Okay, just tell us everything.
Yeah, so I got bit by Bramacluse spider on my face. And you didn't know, right? Like, you were sleeping?
I was sleeping, but I woke up when it bit me. Yeah. So I actually had, I killed it. Like, I grabbed it off my face. And I woke up within my hand. Yeah.
Okay, it's all coming back to me.
I do remember this.
Okay, what kind of spider say it again?
Brown recluse.
Brown recluse.
Yeah, they're very popular here.
In Nashville.
Yes, very.
Good.
There's a thing here.
My house is full of critters.
Yeah, you need to put traps out.
Sean and I are always like, what is, like, we open the door and like eight spiders crawling.
Ooh, don't, no.
I'm not afraid of spiders.
I'm afraid of that one.
I'm afraid of the ones.
I wasn't either, though.
And I didn't ever thought about it.
Okay, so it bit your face.
And then you did you think twice about it?
Yes. Oh, God.
Oh, okay.
Well, I woke my boyfriend up and I was like, dude, we got to go to the emergency room.
Oh, I mean, it was, I felt like I got stung by a bee on my face.
Oh, okay.
It was like stinging really bad.
And then I looked in my hand and this thing was dying in my hand, which is the worst.
It's like a nightmare.
And he's like, he literally thought I was, like, being, like, dramatic.
Yeah.
He was just like, I have to pee, hold on.
Yeah.
He just like, went and peed.
And I'm like, no, we like need to go now.
Like, you don't understand.
Like, this is bad.
Yeah.
I knew immediately it was bad.
And then I didn't really know exactly what they looked like because I never really had a reason to look them up.
No.
So then I put it in a bag and then I googled it and I was like, oh, yeah, this is a Bromercluse that bit me on my face.
And so what happened?
Because it like ate away at your face.
Yeah, it started it started out just like the swelling was insane.
Like, I mean, my face, I looked insane.
You can probably Google pictures, right?
You can go to my, it's all on my Instagram.
Oh, okay, okay.
Yes.
I mean, or you can go, it's everywhere.
Yeah.
I'm like probably the only person who's ever been bit on.
on their face like that.
That's crazy.
Yeah, it was insane.
But it just started swelling and then my eyes started to close.
And then like it literally probably took five or six days for the actual, the black part to
start happening, though.
So it's like a process.
Like you have symptoms for 10 days straight and every day it's a new symptom.
Or I did.
And like when you went to the emergency, were they warning you about this?
No, because they don't believe you.
Because I think so many people come in there and they're like, oh, if I run with clues and
they're like, okay.
That actually, I usually do a can you not segment on my podcast where you like pick a topic and you go, can you not?
And then you have like a reason.
Emergency room would be one.
One for nurses because they'd have a million.
But one for people that try and come in because like I feel like I would go into emergency room.
Like I get like crippling cramps to the point where I'm like sick to my stomach.
And I'm like in so much pain that I can't even function.
And I'm too scared to go to the emergency room because I know they won't take me serious.
No, they don't take you seriously.
I'm sitting there like with my eye like swollen shut and they're just like with a spider in the bag and they didn't even want to see the spider no they were like oh I don't really need to see it and she was like just you know if you start having put some ice on it yeah no and I put a lot of ice on it but they were like if you start having shooting pains in your shoulder blades like make sure you come back and I'm like so if I'm having a heart attack oh my gosh so they did nothing for you not really it took a lot of trips over there and my mom's a nurse so my mom finally went with me yeah
point.
She was like, hey, you know, we got to get this taken care of.
I was in so much pain, though.
Like, by day six, I was in a ball.
Like, I'm sobbing.
Like, and I'm not.
Like, I deal with pain.
Mm-hmm.
Like, it was just nerve pain.
It was eating my nerves, basically, in my face.
So I was like, oof.
And you don't have any permanent damage?
No.
Wow.
It's crazy.
But you know what?
I found a doctor in North Carolina because I did all this research, and she's a wound care
specialist, and she put me in a hyperbaric chamber.
Oh, well.
Which is like, I think.
thing. But it sped my healing up. And I think it really helped. Wow. I think that's why I don't have like a crazy. I mean, I did laser treatments on my face too. But I think that a lot of it is was that with the healing. Crazy. Yeah. I was like very like proactive. And like how do you not have like terrible nightmares about it now? I think I look at it like, okay, that's that can't happen twice. It can't happen twice. And it's like got to be the worst thing that's ever happened. That'd be like getting hit by lightning twice.
My mom's been hit by lightning twice.
Okay.
Now you're lying.
No, I swear to God.
You're lying.
No, she's told me this story a million times and I'm like, who are you?
She got hit by lightning twice.
She's been hit twice.
Yes.
So I'm like, maybe it could happen twice, but I don't think so.
Wait, you just ruined your whole theory because you're like, can't happen twice.
But my mom, however, did get hit by lightning twice.
But now I'm proactive with the spiders.
Like I have the traps everywhere.
I'm ready for them.
Well, you have to be.
Yeah.
No, they're not going to live in my house.
That is so funny.
Yeah.
Not that.
But the fact that I just like compared it to getting hit by lightning twice and you're like, yeah, my mom has.
You know what?
My mom grew up in like backwoods Kentucky and they like probably took baths outside and stuff.
You know what I mean?
And like they were poor.
You know.
Yeah.
I don't.
Allie.
Yeah, I don't know.
I don't know.
I think she just.
I'm like itchy right now thinking about your spider story.
You need to put those traps out.
I'm telling you.
you. I should. I don't need. Just in case. I did get paranoid once I read that story. Yeah. I mean, here's the deal. Don't put your pillow on the bed next to you. Like next to on the floor. Don't put stuff on the floor and then put it in bed with you. Okay. That's what I did. Lesson learned. Yeah. And your clothes, shake them out if you're throwing them on the floor, which I do all the time. See, that's not good for me. I like pick up dirty underwear off the floor and put it back on. I just flip them inside out. I just need to go. You know, shake it out. I'm disgusting. I'm disgusting. I wear pants.
for several days at a time.
Yeah, but that's okay.
I don't do underwear.
I don't know.
Oh, really?
I'm not one of those.
I mean, I have, but I like the comfort of undies.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Does the word panties bother you?
No.
Does the word moist bother you?
Yes.
Does the word moist panties bother you?
Probably.
It's not my favorite thing.
The word, I actually like the word moist because I think about cupcakes.
Really?
Yeah.
That's not what I think about.
Why do people not like the word moist?
I don't know.
It's weird.
I just gives me, like, the creeps.
I don't know why.
I think about, like, condensation and cupcakes.
I love that.
That's weird.
That is weird.
That's like a total confession right there.
There you go.
This podcast is full of my weird.
Just full of confessions.
My weird ass confessions.
That's funny.
Okay, I want to do this new segment on my podcast called Grat a Tuesday because it's
always Tuesday when my podcast comes out.
Okay.
And I'm lately just like, I keep getting in a weird state where I'm like, I'm feeling
miserable and I think it's because of our surroundings and Twitter and the news and everything.
And just like I feel like a lot of people have lost hope, just in general, which is so sad.
I have days of that, but then I get back on track.
Same.
Yeah.
I'm the exact same way.
I need to just get back on track.
And I'm like, a big part of it, I believe, is social media.
And you're just always constantly trying to please people.
And I don't know.
Everybody just has their opinion.
And then you compare and just everything that goes along with media and the news and everything.
I'm like, I'm going to start a gratitude segment just to like leave it on like a nice high thankful note.
I like that.
But my girlfriend, she's everyone knows her that listens to the podcast.
Her name's Bree.
She used to be in radio.
She's so funny, so witty, so smart.
And she always comes up.
I was like, I want to do like a gratitude.
She goes, yeah, gratitude's day.
I'm like, so smart.
So genius.
Those people.
So just really quick off the top of your head, two things you're thankful for, two things you're proud of.
Oh, man.
Okay.
Well, I'm really thankful for my dogs.
Yes.
Because I am just, I don't know.
I'm obsessed with my dogs.
Like, I like, I like dogs more than people.
Me too.
Everyone knows this.
I love dogs.
But I'm just, like, obsessed.
Like, that's my favorite thing in the morning is like cuddling with my dogs.
Like, I can't get out of bed hardly.
To be honest with you, part of my anxiety that just, I've realized, I, I, I, I, I, I've realized, I,
I didn't know where my anxiety started to stem from because I never suffered from it my whole life, but I have in the last couple years.
I have realized it's because I am so, well, part of it is I'm so in love with my dog that I'm like the fear of not having him and knowing that's going to happen eventually.
Eventually.
And not having him in the morning to wake up to gives me anxiety.
Yeah.
No, I hear that.
So I get it.
I hear that.
I was literally, it's so weird you say that.
I was very emotional yesterday.
Yeah.
And I was like laying there with bed.
with Betty. She's my little beagle. She's really fat and cute. But she was just sitting there and she's like snoring like with her eyes open. She's just the cutest thing ever. And I'm just like I started like almost crying. And Tyler, my boyfriend's like, what is wrong with you? I'm like, I'm like, I just can't imagine my life without her. She's seven. And you know, it's like, you know, not that that's even old, but I'm just like eventually.
I hear you. My golden, my golden, our golden. It was totally Sean's before me. But I, he is my world.
and I will just lay there sometimes and hold his face and sob and just like kiss his face
because I'm like I can't believe how much I love this dog.
I cry at dogs a lot.
Me too, me too.
Yeah.
Like I saw this picture of the French bulldog on the plane with the, you know, the oxygen the other day.
Did you see this?
No.
I didn't get the French bulldog oxygen because it was like couldn't breathe on the plane.
No.
And literally there's just a picture of the dog with the oxygen and I just started crying.
I want to cry just at the thought.
No, no, no, no, nothing's wrong with you.
I want to cry just thinking about that story you're just told.
Yeah.
Like, I don't, I guess Sean always says this, because you know some people have dogs and it's like.
Whatever.
Yeah.
Sean goes, there's dog people and then there's dog people.
Mm-hmm.
And we are dog people.
So I feel you.
Yeah, I am a dog person.
That's what I'm going to say.
I'm grateful for as well, my dog.
Okay.
Our dog, sorry.
I know.
I get so mad.
I have two and they're hours.
I mean.
Sean says my dog, I'm like, eh, excuse you.
Yeah.
Totally our dog.
Okay.
And what are you most proud of?
Oh, man.
I'm proud of a lot of things, actually.
Which is, it's hard to admit, you know?
Do you feel like, because you feel like you're just like being a little bit of showbo?
Yeah, I'm just like bragging or something.
No, you're not.
You're being grateful and we need to have more of that.
No, I am grateful.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I'm just proud of like the person that I'm becoming and just the music I'm making and just the life I'm living.
because I feel like I'm manifesting a lot of things
and I've been very positive and it's like working, you know.
Amen.
So there.
I'm a big believer in manifesting.
Me too.
Manifestation.
Is that what I should have said?
Yes.
I really believe that I have done that quite a bit through life.
Mm-hmm.
And it always works out.
It does.
It does.
I've been listening to Abraham Hicks lately.
Do you listen to her?
Okay.
No, but is this the spiritual thing where it's like a...
She's Esther, but that Abraham is like her.
Oh, somebody, okay, who, it was my girlfriend Bailey.
Yeah.
Who did the whole theory on Justin Bieber or Justin Timberlake, all that.
She's plugged in.
She is.
She told me about that yesterday and I haven't listened yet.
There's something about her.
Like, I listen to her every morning.
Okay.
That's what Bailey does tell.
And it, like, puts me on, like, it sets me on the path.
Sets the tone for your day.
Yes.
Okay.
Wait, say that name one more time.
People listen.
Abraham Hicks.
Abraham Hicks.
She's amazing.
She's written books.
She's amazing.
Okay.
I'm going to start doing that because, I mean, I do remember.
remember my girlfriend telling me that last night, but now you just reminded me.
Yes.
Okay.
You got to do it.
I'm going to do it.
That and weed baths.
Weed baths and Abraham Mays.
Those are two things.
Three things I've taken away from the podcast today.
And those are.
And those are the best.
They're a good things.
Those are really good things.
Okay.
I'm going to ask you a couple questions from Twitter.
Okay.
And then we're going to wrap it up.
Yeah.
Oh, somebody rang my doorbell.
I have an app.
Do you?
I need that app.
We have security cameras.
Yeah.
which actually is so funny because we had a group of, I don't know how, 10 girls found out where we lived, and they were probably like 15, and they showed up at the door.
Yeah.
And they pretended they were on a scavenger hunt.
And maybe they were.
But they knew we lived there and they have found out somehow.
And we watched them on the security cameras, ring our doorbell like three different times.
Yeah.
And then they go, I hope Sean answers.
What are we going to say if Caitlin answers?
And they were like all, like, and then I thought they were gone and I went out to get something from my Jeep.
and they're all standing there taking pictures of our house.
Oh, my God.
And I said, I understand, you know, this might be cool for you.
But, like, you're making us really uncomfortable.
And we have doorbell cameras.
So we heard everything you said because they were like, what if Caitlin answers?
Like, they were like, they were there for Sean.
And I'm like, I'm not having that.
Yeah, girls.
Yeah.
Get out of here.
They do it.
Anyways, somebody just rang our doorbell is what I was getting at.
Nice.
Okay.
I feel like I need my own jingle or, like, theme song for my useful car.
tips from true car because here's a few you might not be aware of or you or you may because you

are not available in all states. So Twitter questions. Amanda Voils
said what got her into being politically conscious and what kinds of issues are the most important
to her. I love that she's so political and voices her opinion freely, especially on Twitter.
Oh, God.
That is so opposite from me. I'm like, I'm staying the hell away from politics and religion. I'm out.
I know, dude. I used to. I used to. I mean, I grew up, like, I've always been empathetic, I guess. I'm
always worried about other people. And so I feel like obviously, you know, I don't know. I've just taken
stances on a lot of different things.
Isn't one of your new songs about that?
Yeah, I have a new song coming out called Freedom Fighter.
Yeah.
So I haven't released it yet, but it's very much about that.
And just all the movements that are happening right now with like Emma Gonzalez and David
Hogg and, you know, the gun reform and just everything, you know, everything that conservative's love.
I'm like gun reform, black lives matter, LGBT.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I mean, these are all my things, but that's just really how I feel, you know.
It would be much easier for me to not, you know, to not talk about it.
You're right. It would. It would be a lot easier.
That's what I do.
Yeah, it is. It is easier. But it's just things that, you know, I kind of got to a point
where I felt like I have this platform and I just, that's what I want to use it for.
Amen. I feel like I said amen more today in this podcast than I've ever said in my whole life.
Oh, good. But I'm doing it like, yes, ma'am, that's what I'm doing.
Yeah.
Courtney Smith wants to know what TV show you're into right now.
I know. I'm seriously into The Bachelorette right now.
I'm just saying that because we're talking.
Like, I just, you're into it.
I'm into it.
Okay.
Then I have to ask, who's your favorite?
I like Jason.
I like Jason, yeah.
I think he could win.
I like Blake, too.
He's sweet.
He might be too sweet.
Yeah, he's a little too sweet.
He's a little too sweet.
He's a little, like, bachelor material.
Mm-hmm.
I think he might be the bachelor.
Mm-hmm.
I don't believe Colin's a virgin.
Like, okay.
Do you?
No, but I'm like, I mean, it's a possibility.
Okay, I'm sorry.
He's probably going to be on your podcast, like, tomorrow and I'm over here, like,
no, I just don't like that they make such a big deal.
about him being a virgin they make it such a big deal and they're like you know you really should
tell her and he's acting like it's a make or break situation i'm like would you want to be with somebody
if they found out you're a virgin they were like bye wouldn't you be like yeah toodles like i don't
want to be with you either it's weird it's so weird that they always make such a big deal out of the
virgins yeah i don't get it i don't think it's right no and i mean maybe he is i don't know either
but i always think the same thing it's just hard to believe because i'm like it's so scary that
you know, people can just go on TV and want to have this image so they can say whatever they
want, and we just have to believe them.
Right.
So it's like, I don't want to say he's not, because I don't know, but I obviously, I questioned
the same thing.
Yeah.
I'm like, hmm.
I know.
This is me, though, like, you know, I see like an hour of a show and I'm like, I know
everything is going on with these people.
I know.
I mean, clearly.
Hey, we're all guilty of it.
At least we can be honest about it.
True.
Yeah.
That's, I mean, I'm into that show right now, too.
Obviously, that's what I'm podcasting about after this is my little great therapy recap.
Yeah.
Jen wants to know when the world gets to hear Freedom Fighter.
Oh, soon, Jen, soon.
Oh, good.
I don't know when, but soon.
I have a really good idea for a video I'm trying to put together, so as soon as that's done.
Brooke Lay, sure.
I'm not saying sure.
I'm saying sure.
Do you still keep in contact with anyone from the voice, like coaches or contestants?
And was it an overall positive experience?
Yeah.
I mean, I've texted with Blake here in.
in there, and then, yeah, I'm friends with, like, I have friends, girlfriends that I made on the show that I still hang out with and stuff.
Sarah Potenza and Kim Nicky is another one that was in the top, kind of, they were kind of in the top 20 or whatever that, but it was, it's funny because they put you in these, they room you with people on the show.
So you're like in a hotel room with people.
Yeah.
So it's like, forever.
Just a hotel room?
Yes.
Oh, I thought it was bad enough to be in a mansion with other girls.
You're like in a hotel room with one other person, so you're sharing a room.
I would not do well with that, though.
I don't think I would.
I love my alone time.
Well, there was one girl they put me with that was like 18 and I was like, okay, I got to go tell them that this isn't going to work.
Yeah.
So then I ended up becoming friends with like girls that were closer to my age.
Yeah.
I was like, okay, we'll be in a room together.
It's hard to bond with people that aren't around your age, especially that much of an age gap.
It's a big age gap.
It depends on the person, but that can be a huge age gap.
Yeah.
She started the show with her dad having to accompany her and then she turned 18 and then her dad.
couldn't accompany her and then she ended up in a room with me and she was really sweet but I was just like I would like really love to share a room with somebody who's closer to my age of course um Brenna Weidman says if she wouldn't have tried out for the voice and became a singer slash artist what profession would she choose and why if I wasn't singing I would I don't know I'd probably be like a makeup artist or like a stylist oh I could see that I feel like you're creative so that comes that comes out in your music
obviously, and you're an artist in that way, but I could see that being.
I love that stuff.
I mean, I write all the treatments for my videos.
I do my own makeup.
Like, I just, I don't know.
I like all the creative stuff.
Yeah.
I could see that for sure.
Okay.
Now, I always, this is me being very unprofessional.
I always end my podcast with a joke, but I keep forgetting to, like, actually look one up
and write one down because usually I just have them off the top of my head.
But after a certain amount of podcast, you run out of jokes.
Yeah.
So now I'm, like, quickly Googling.
I was told I needed a dad joke.
was that a talk you do you have one I mean oh my god I love that they prepared you for that
because they know I've been just like slacking oh good just FYI um I mean I have a few okay okay okay
why am I even Googling please tell me and dad oh I have one okay you go no you go first what do you call
cow with no legs what ground beef oh I did know that one dang it but I don't like when people
ruin the jokes anyways but good one okay want to hear mine yeah so Sean really didn't like
facial hair while he was in high school, but then it grew on him.
Oh, I like that one.
Thanks.
Yeah.
I stole it from my boxing coach the other day.
That's amazing.
Yeah.
Do you have more?
Do I have more?
Yeah, probably.
Okay.
So probably.
Probably.
Probably.
I got 10.
I rehearsed them before I came.
In the mirror.
Totally.
What do you, no, not what do you call?
So a ham sandwich walks into the bar.
Yeah.
And the bartender says, we don't serve food.
Nice.
You're welcome.
Yeah.
That's, I like ones that just made me go, huh.
Yeah.
Like, I'm not going to laugh really hard at a joke.
No, not unless it's really funny.
No, even then I'll be like, uh-huh.
Really?
Yeah.
No, no, that's a challenge.
If anybody has a joke that you think you can make me, like, actually belly laugh, bring it on.
I used to do that with program directors on radio tour, though.
Really?
Yeah, they'd, like, say something mildly funny.
I'd be like, oh.
Yeah, I might do it if it felt like somebody.
Yeah.
Well, you play my single, though?
Like, Ellen DeGeneres told me a joke.
I'd probably roll on the floor.
Like over the top.
Yeah.
R-O-F-L, whatever the kids say.
Yeah, something like that.
Anyhow, where can people find you?
Where can people find your music?
Tell us everything before we go.
All the things.
All the things.
The music's everywhere, Spotify, iTunes, all that stuff.
Just my name, Megan Lindsay.
And then I'm on Instagram as Megan Lindsay.
I'm on Facebook as Megan Lindsay Music.
And I'm on Twitter.
Megan Lindsay.
But let me say that it's the spelling.
It's M-E-G-H-A-N and Lindsay is L-I-N-S-E-Y.
Yes.
And mom really did that to me.
Well, it's a tough one.
It is.
Because people that want to do Megan, M-E-G-A-N.
And then Lindsay with a D.
D.
Yeah.
Do you think I say Megan weird?
No.
My, Sean's sister's name is Megan and she always, she says I say it like Megan instead of Megan.
But she's also from Connecticut, and I feel like they say it different there.
I think everybody everywhere says it different.
Okay.
I don't know.
A lot of people just call me Meg.
Okay, Meg, Meg, it is.
Meg.
Okay, thank you for being here.
Yeah, thank you so much.
It was so much fun.
So fun.
Thanks for drinking the rosé, even though you're not a big rosé guy.
I liked it.
I liked it.
