Here's Caitlin. Welcome to Off the Vine.
Starting point is 00:01:32 I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow. Today, we're not in a studio. We're not in a recording studio. We're not in my podcast studio. We are on the damn couch in front of a romantic fireplace. We've got Mariah, Nicole's friend over there, sipping rosé. And Nicole Franzles with me. Winner of season 18, was it?
Starting point is 00:01:51 Yes. A big brother. Okay, I found out some facts. Oh, gosh. You already know these facts. I just like, this is cool. Oh, okay. That you're the first woman to beat a guy, a two guys in the final two.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Yeah. That's so cool. I know. I didn't even know. I didn't know that was a thing until I already won. And then Julie Chen's like, we made history. Okay, please tell me everything about Julie Chen. Like, is she as, like, she's perfect.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Is she just a boss-ass bitch? Like, she is, right? Yeah, Julie, she is perfect. And it's very intimidating because the first season, I was on 16. Yeah. And I got evicted twice. but I had to go on stage and like be interviewed by her and I'm like oh my god I mean she's just beautiful yeah she's a present she's like a Chris Harrison yeah yeah well what who's
Starting point is 00:02:36 Chris Harrison oh wait what I love you shit I love you Chris Harrison is like the face of the Bachelor franchise oh crap Mariah pulls down her shade she's like I don't know her anymore he's the host okay okay Oh, that's so... Okay. No, you're so humble. No, but I like you because I like you. I didn't watch your season, you know?
Starting point is 00:03:03 Yeah. No, that's amazing. I'm sorry. I am purposely going to make him listen to this podcast just so he like gets like a little bit grounded. Crap. He's going to hate me. No. He probably will like you more.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Yeah, no, but that's amazing. That was the best. That will be the best thing of this whole podcast is that you didn't know who Chris Harrison was. But yeah, Julie Chen to me. is like she's just like the face of the show yeah she is yeah and she's i mean meeting her she's exactly what you think yeah very well spoken very put together um prettier in person and just i'm obsessed with all of her outfits and i want to know who her wardrobe stylist is yeah i don't know she always has like like very risky um bold fashion with like she'll do these big weird sleeves that only julie
Starting point is 00:03:52 could pull off and pants suits before they wear a pantsuit like before they were a thing and I in the house we would always sit around the couch we knew it was live eviction day and we're like what do you think julie will be wearing like it was like a topic of discussion yeah julia I think oh we were right she's wearing red or she's wearing blue or big brother was the only reality show that I would get into so much that I would do um pools like I'd be in a pool with my friends and that was something we always talked about was what Julie Chen would be wearing so you just when you did big brother like when you picked who you thought would win it was it just off the cast photos did you read the bio oh we read the bios and that's it and we could watch the first episode but i was only in a pool
Starting point is 00:04:31 once and it was the season it was jess and cody um josh 19 yes season 19 that was the only time i've ever been in a pool i actually season 16 the first one you were on was the first season i didn't watch in so long so what you on season 16 was a good one though okay i'm gonna go back and watch 16 i liked better than 18 even though i won really yeah 16 was 16 was one of the best seasons i think pick brother ever had okay i'm going to go back and watch don't tell me who wins okay because i don't know oh actually i will know once i see the faces but um i don't care because i will go back and watch that whole season can i get it on my apple tv i don't know you know i don't online can you it's on youtube oh my coffee maker is going
Starting point is 00:05:13 to make noise uh it's on youtube yeah it's on youtube the whole season i think so yeah that's how people also i can watch it on my apple tv because i can just put on youtube yep I'm going to watch what place no don't tell me don't tell me what it's just a good it's that is one so when I played 16 I felt like I already loved the game I was a super fan and then I was like wow this is 10 times better than I thought and then I went back for 18 I'm like wow this is torture oh really yeah so it was completely different for me and why the fact that I got brought back like just shows that okay 16 was a good season for me because I was liked yeah but then 18 wasn't the same type of feeling I think it was it's all about the people in the house and if you just watch 16 it's like you will be rooting probably
Starting point is 00:05:57 for eight people there's just yeah so many good characters remind me on who be small cowboy was on 16 oh yeah yeah see I never saw that one and Frankie Grande and yeah it was it was good and you're still really good friends with Frankie yeah I'm good friends of people from 16 you know what's weird is that didn't his sister obviously oh don't she blow up while he was on the season Yes. And she became so, I mean, I have heard of her. It went before that. But he, she was not even close to what she was even during that season. He came out and he's like, oh my gosh, she's huge. That's so crazy. So, yeah. And now look at her. I know. He actually, Frankie came to my, um, Broadway show that I was in. Oh, yeah. And I was like, I didn't even watch that season and I was nerding out over him. Like I would have nerded out over him over Ariana because I'm. such a big brother fan yeah he's awesome yeah he's he's so nice he is and he's so generous and yeah like his family they're so they're so cute yeah and they have everything in the world but yet they're still
Starting point is 00:07:03 very family based oh i love that oh i love that yeah because she's gone through some shit i know but she seems to remain like i mean from what i know of her from just in the media she always seems to be very level-headed or like the same as she was when she started or only just like growing as a human know yeah that's cool okay i can't wait to go back and watch season 16 yeah see 16 is good i i i mean maybe i'm i'm also biased probably what was that like as a super fan walking into the big brother house i was well i didn't talk for like 11 days because i was so nervous it takes me forever to warm up and so i was like well i'm not going to be the first i don't want to be the first one out i feel like that's like the worst the worst yeah so anybody who's loud and obnoxious is
Starting point is 00:07:51 always out first. Oh, really? Yeah, I didn't make a peep. So I was in great condition. And then finally I broke out of my shell and everyone's like, this girl's pretty cool. Yeah. You just needed 11 days. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Yes. And as a super fan, it was, I mean, I guess growing up in such a small town, it was just good enough for me to make it on the show. Yeah, amazing. And knock it out first. And I felt very accomplished. And how did you get on? So I was about.
Starting point is 00:08:21 to graduate college um i was 21 finally old enough to apply right and so i went home mom's like hey you know i was kind of dating this nasty i wasn't even dating him lovely and so i wanted to get away from him yeah so actually that's a perfect escape too like no phone no like well no i mean i just wanted to go home like i wanted to go like physically to my i didn't tell him i was applying i didn't tell him anything he didn't know what's going on in my life anyways it was a healthy relationship no it was terrible and i felt like it was just best to kind of disappear and so i mom's like you have one day yeah to apply for a big brother if you want to because i wanted to go to the chicago open call but my dad was like nah you don't need to drive that far yeah you know and mom's like send in a
Starting point is 00:09:13 tape i'm like okay so i made a little tape and sent it in i thought i shoved like the swans man outside and my mom I'm like get out I'm making a tape and I sent it in and the next day I got a call back oh the next day I like vomited you projectile vomited actually yes the first time I've ever actually got a natural reaction for you no oh the only time that's ever happened besides car sickness if that counts no projectile vomit yeah because I was like oh my gosh and they wanted to Skype me and I was so scared I'm like they're not going to really like me you know my gosh Well, what were you doing in the video? I just did a selfie video and I was like, hey, I pee my pants sometimes, you know, like, I don't even know what I said, but if I watch that now, I'd probably be so embarrassed.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Is it like on YouTube or something? No, I never put that out in the public. Oh, my gosh. Okay, my audition for my, not to interrupt you, but just a little side story, my girlfriend created a video and did all my paperwork for me to get on the show. Oh, nice. And I was like, I did this little dance and it was like quite embarrassing and I did this whole thing and I looked like I was 12 and I was like, well, that video will never see the light of day. Like it won't go anywhere. They did like an anniversary special on The Bachelor and showed some people's like tapes of like what they sent in.
Starting point is 00:10:34 So they did that behind. Oh my God. And I was like watching. I was like, oh. That's funny. I want to do it. It's, I'm sure you could just YouTube something. Yeah, I want to YouTube it.
Starting point is 00:10:43 But anyways, you said you peed your pants and they were like, we love this girl. said like I try to do is like I tried to emphasize who I was I didn't I didn't change who I was at all that's perfect I just like do pee my pants sometimes and I do do do weird things I think it was my accent I had big glasses at the time and they were like men's glasses it was before big glasses were back in yeah you know like I went ahead of your time yeah yeah yeah I like to think so and so I think they just like that character yeah and um then you do remind me of a character though but that is who you are, which is the greatest part. Yeah, I mean, I think so, right? Yeah. I don't know. I mean, I can sometimes be more crazy or more whatever, but then I did, I knew I couldn't be shy.
Starting point is 00:11:26 I knew how I had to just like let it all out. Yeah. And then I Skype them and then they flew me out to LA and I was freaking on. The first time I applied, I was like, oh my gosh. Because lots of people that go on the show apply over and over, right? 10 times. Why is that? Because they don't see their stuff the Well, Victor wasn't, he applied to be on 16. He had short hair, was nerdy, completely changed. His look, right, was on 18 with the long hair, the muscles. Yeah. So it's crazy.
Starting point is 00:11:58 Yeah, he had potential to be on 16. That's really interesting. He made it really far. And then, like, I think you mentioned, like, how they call you back without having you go through the process again. That's what he went through. They're like, oh, you know, maybe we want this guy back. And then he was completely different with, like, like,
Starting point is 00:12:13 the muscles and the hair that's wild they do look for a big brother complete it's a lot of character what you look like and what you sound like really i think so because i feel like there's always that long-haired beachy dude there's always like the nerdy girl you know they have those certain characters that you can you can fill that's actually true they do that i mean if you think about it they do that on everything i guess all reality tv like bachelor i think i'm like yeah they always have like the drunk person the dramatic person the shy person and the outgoing one all of my family and friends thought i'd be the drunk guy night one of the bachelor but yeah i'm like thinking back i'm like there always is like a hot girl on big brother there's always like the athletic like college
Starting point is 00:12:57 bros who did you not enjoy playing with a lot of people oh like on 18 it wasn't michel was not fun um oh right was she the cry baby one yeah she wasn't fun uh there was I'd say like nobody on 18 was really that fun. I mean, if you think about it, that's, that's like crazy if you are stuck in house with a bunch people you actually enjoy hanging out with. Oh, yeah. That's what I mean. 16 was so fun because everyone was so great.
Starting point is 00:13:25 And then I go into 18 and I was like, I can't even find a friend in here that I could. I mean, there was some people that were good. Yeah. But it just, I mean, we all win our different ways at this point. Okay. Now I'm like, I get so. confused with the different people you and paul were the final too yeah paul and i love paul so paul's awesome paul's awesome he's one of my good friends and he was so fun to play was so intelligent one of the
Starting point is 00:13:52 smartest people ever yeah um and his being on his side is like the best if he ever plays big brother with any of anyone that's listening just team up with paul seriously oh i would too yeah there's people i would definitely team up with derrick paul yeah dan i mean jenelle brittney there's people that You just, they're just freaking good. Yeah, they're just like powerhouses in there. I don't even know if there ever would be a Big Brother All-Stars, but I hope. Why wouldn't there be? Haven't they done that?

Starting point is 00:16:36 you need and i feel like i'm really good at making friends with everybody yeah and you can't make people you can't be too liked though right you cannot if so sometimes the first person to go home if there's no one loud and crazy is the person that everyone likes so you can't but you don't start fights either oh that's a tough go yeah how you just kind of got a you really got to read the room yeah I mean it's so different and that's 90 if you make it to the end that's 90 days 99 was 99 yeah yeah 99 days do you run out of makeup you like wear the same thing they take the clothes that you're
Starting point is 00:17:16 that are two patterned or it's and you really only get one suitcase to bring yeah you really only get one suitcase yes well it's it's hard no it's really difficult and also there's I don't know how it is on the bachelorette but if you can't wear pastels or patterns or green so you have all and I didn't know really they said it but I was like, okay, they're not serious.
Starting point is 00:17:41 It took all my clothes the first season and then just bought me Target v-neck shirts. I'm like, this sucks. Are you serious? Yeah. It's like, this is not my clothes. Seeing it's so hard because I feel like clothing for some people, maybe for me, like that's like part of my identity. Like if I feel good in an outfit or comfortable or like. Like you couldn't even have, you could not, well, you can't have anything with logos,
Starting point is 00:17:58 but you can't even wear like that white hat you're wearing because it's white. What? Yeah. And you can't wear black because then it could look like. Oh, okay. That's not. We don't, that's not on the bachelorette. So what do you wear?
Starting point is 00:18:09 bright colors whether you want to what is the um reasoning for that um well they don't want everyone if everyone could wear black they think they would so it would look more like a funeral type thing okay that makes sense and then they just want you to stand out but they still want you to have your style so if you can do both now knowing what i know i could really emphasize on that or whatever how do you explain your style i don't maria my she's sitting over here she cracked me up to she goes this is like the hundred time that if I put on which you're wearing people would lock me up in an asylum like if I wore the shoes and socks and like you know the jeans
Starting point is 00:18:52 unique style but you pull it off I don't yeah I don't know what my style is what do you think my style is I think you're like um like trendy in a um hipster way but not being hipster because because you're above that. Like, I don't really know how to explain it. I feel like I just put on whatever I really want and hope it goes. Yeah, but it like what you're wearing kind of like,
Starting point is 00:19:20 it's like your personality. Like I feel like you wear whatever you're feeling that day. Yeah, that's exactly how I am. Sometimes I'm really bright with the colors and sometimes like, no, I want, you know, dull.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Yeah. You like pull off stuff that like we're saying. Like you can't, nobody can really pull off. I'm more of like a skid, like, um, like homeless chic i like to say like i'm like i usually feel my sexiest in like the grossest clothes
Starting point is 00:19:46 yeah but you're cute no matter what well thanks and you're you're just cute i mean when i watch your stuff it's like you don't even have to have a lick of makeup on you're just super cute i mean i i hate makeup too sometimes but like if i was pretty enough not to freaking wear makeup all the time you are you are you nuts are you nuts i'm just trying to get my skin better your skin's great what do you do for your skin oh do you want to hear my routine yeah actually the people love to hear this because everyone asked me about my skin routine. First of all, I have to say that this is, maybe this can be my confession because it's a straight diva move, but I got a $5,000 facial. Holy for free though. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Like it, I went to Kim Kardashian's like skin guy
Starting point is 00:20:27 in Beverly Hills and he, his name is, I don't know how to exactly pronounce it. It's Simon Orion, I think, but some people say Simone, but I'm pretty sure it's Simon Orion. Orion. Um, he's incredible and so he did it's a cool laser treatment and it's like this is the recent one on your story a couple days ago no oh no no no that's just like a facial i go to in nashville she's awesome too but this this guy honestly it it hurt i mean it's you can do it but it felt like a bunch of needles stabbing my face while holding like a lighter up to it so i mean it didn't tickle but it was quick and pretty easy and uh the recovery was about five days oh okay so what was it for five days um like track marks on my face like
Starting point is 00:21:15 it felt like rough skin were you scared that it would stay or you yes no i was terrified i get so freaked out if anything's different for even an hour i'm like oh hell i was terrified because he was like oh there's no downtime so like on day three when i was still like scarred i'm like oh god um but then my skin honestly and it lasts two years this facial like it just keeps getting better and tighter and brighter and everything as two years goes on so it's worth a $5,000 so as the two years goes on I'm like I wake up and I'm like my skin is getting better um and then so in the morning I use skin suiticles is like my favorite um and I'm not saying this all the skin suiticles doesn't pay me and I'm not saying vanity planet because they they do ads with me but the vanity planet
Starting point is 00:21:58 steamer that I saw I just saw that you have I'm obsessed with it I actually really like vanity planet products um which is why i promote them but so i'll steam my face and then i do vitamin c um in the morning and then i do this b5 gel and then i do an h a m skin medica something rather i'll figure it out um and then an eye cream and a moisturizer then at night i use a cleanser from skin suiticles and then I use H.A.5 intensifier serum. The same thing as in the morning. No, it's a different one. It's a H.A. something and H.A. 5. Oh, okay. And then I do eye cream and a moisturizer and retinal. Oh, okay. I do retinal too. You do? I do. I'm learning. I'm trying to get up with the times because now that I'm 26, I feel like I need to. Oh, you're so old. Your skin's cracking. You're just going to
Starting point is 00:22:54 shit. I have expression lines. That's what I call. Botox. I also do Botox. I'm afraid. yeah because i i just don't i'm afraid to get my wisdom teeth out i'm afraid to do anything so i just stay away from i mean do your wisdom teeth need to come out because you might want to get that done i know they can do you know what happened to me no i had to get emergency dental surgery in germany oh my gosh because i had infected wisdom teeth from not getting them taken out oh see that's that's going to be me and in germany they don't believe in pain killers and they didn't put me under oh my gosh i thought it was how i was going to go like i was so you didn't have any pain killers at all they prescribed me ibuprofen but did you what during the thing did you you didn't have any numbing numbing yes they numbed me but i was like
Starting point is 00:23:45 fully aware of what they were doing and he had to like bust up my like he cut open my gums bust open my or bust up my tooth into like a bunch of small pieces so that he could pick it out because it was infected and growing in the wrong way. Oh. Ew. So I have these random flare-ups where it kills me and I'm just like, I'll get through it. I'll get through it. I used to be the same way.
Starting point is 00:24:07 You got it. And then it goes away and I'm like, then I cancel. It's been eight times since I've canceled. I'm like, I'm not, I'm not going to die that way. You sound like me, but honestly, I got one wisdom tooth taken out in Nashville and they put me under and it was the best thing I've ever done in my life. So you just, okay. See, it's the best.
Starting point is 00:24:25 You'll get put under and they'll take, you'll wake up and you'll be like, wow, that was, I'm high and this is amazing. Like, it's great. I know. I need to do it. You just need to do it. And then you'll feel like you can do anything. Once you go be put under and you get your wisdom teeth out, you'll be like, I can do anything.
Starting point is 00:24:42 What was, oh, skin. So you're learning about like. I'm not to just like, yeah, to take care of my skin. It, it, I can't believe, like all through my 20s, I didn't even wash my face. I would sleep in my makeup. I would dry the crap out of my face. I'm like, okay, dry face. no zit. And now I'm like, no, it's because I didn't have enough moisture.
Starting point is 00:24:59 Yeah. I used to be the same way. But 26 is a great age to start caring about your skin. Yeah. I started when I was 30. Okay. So I got potential. You've got a lot of potential.
Starting point is 00:25:09 Okay. Good. And everybody always says, drink water. Drink water. I hate water. That's what Victor tells me drink. Oh, I forgot I had coffee. I'm like, I've been focusing on my wine, but I forgot I had coffee.
Starting point is 00:25:20 But I hate water and I barely drink any of it. And I think I have great skin. Yeah, you do have really great skin. I, I, Victor, it says that his great skin is from water as well. I think it's also jeans. My mom has great skin. My dad has great skin. You have great skin.
Starting point is 00:25:34 I, no, I have large pores. What does that even mean? Like, I can see, like, what are poor, what do pores look like? See, because exactly. I wish I could ask that question. Is it the little, like, blackhead looking things? Yeah, but, like, mine are bigger. They're empty, but they're big.
Starting point is 00:25:51 They're like, like, little circles in your face. What? Yes. Okay. But some people are so tiny. Like you have such tiny pores that you don't even know what pores are. So retinal will help that. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:26:04 Because when I went to get my facial with the girl in Nashville, she was, she was like, you've been using retinal, haven't you? And I was like, yeah. And she was like, yeah, because you have like no pores. That's awesome. Yeah. I've been getting, so I got my first facial like a week ago. And it was.
Starting point is 00:26:18 A week ago? It was really awesome. Oh, you're young, I guess. I didn't get it. No, I'm because they are expensive. They are expensive. And this is like a medical place. Do you forget you won like a half a million dollars?
Starting point is 00:26:27 Yeah, I pretend I don't. I literally do. I pretend I don't. I haven't. I still drive my 2006 car. Yeah, see, I love that. That's one thing Jason said about you. He was like,
Starting point is 00:26:36 she's so humble. Like he's like, does she even realize like that she was on a huge reality show and like won all this money? I'm like, no, I don't think she does, which is why people like you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:45 No, I try to pretend that I didn't win and don't have that money because it's easy to blow. Yeah. And so I'm trying to think of my kids. kids eventually. Yes, of course. And life's expensive. You know what?
Starting point is 00:26:58 I always lived my life in my 20s with like $5 to spare, like always. And I was so happy doing it. And now I have money from like having a podcast and everything going on. And I can't believe how expensive it is to make money. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Like to put in, I guess like I with my podcast and stuff too, it's, well, I'm starting to It's a lot of, yeah, and it's just kind of like, are you going to, are you going to do that or are you going to put in that money? Because that's the only way you're going to really make money.
Starting point is 00:27:32 Exactly. Because you were a nurse before, right? Yeah. And I still, I still am. I school, I'm a school nurse once in a while. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, I like it. But it's only once in a while. So I'll, like, substitute for her. And then I should go back. But that, yeah, do you miss doing like. Yeah, I am. I do. I do miss being a nurse, um, especially Mariah. She's just. got into a nurse practitioner school and so that made me feel like last night we found out and it made me feel like crap I really should yeah like be using my nursing degree and I've always wanted to be a nurse practitioner and then big brother happened and then it happened again you kind of got to like ride the wave and enjoy the moment right because you can always go back right yeah and I do yes I can I'm always going to keep up my I worked way too hard to let it go yeah and nursing school was it was hard yeah it was fun because you grew up in Michigan and now you and okay so Vic was on your season 18 yep and you guys obviously got along
Starting point is 00:28:31 on the season we we did but we weren't he had a crush on me and I was not feeling it did you know he had a crush on you that whole time okay because the thing is is I like told him behind his back he got evicted like three times and every time he left I was like dude he was so crushing on me and then he'd come back I'm like don't say anything that I said and then they would tell him and he'd be like why'd you say that I'm like you do and he's like no I don't But he tried to pretend like he didn't. Yeah, he still will till this day say that he didn't. No.
Starting point is 00:28:58 Yes. It was so obvious. No, I know. Okay, we all saw it. I know. And so how did it happen that you two got back together? Not that you got back together, but that you guys ended up being in love and now you're engaged. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:29:11 I know. He just, he never gave up for a whole year. And, which is so romantic. Yeah. It's very persistent. I do like persistence. Like it was. Because he's proving himself that he's.
Starting point is 00:29:23 like fights for you and what's crazy is he had a girlfriend like I was never honestly into him romantically at that point because he and he had a girlfriend and I was like you he would call me and face-time me and I would like reject and anyways I'd be like you have to be really loyal to her like you freaking be good like giving him advice yeah and then now here we are it's like now I'm his girlfriend so it just happens oh yeah fiance shit well it's always a weird transition like for me like same fiancee for so long now going back to being somebody's girlfriend i'm like i say actually all the time i'm like girlfriend to vick and he'll be like you're my fiance i'm like well i forget yeah no i mean it feels the
Starting point is 00:30:07 same so far like we've always been serious like i feel like if you're my you know i'm your girlfriend still serious what made you be like okay i'm gonna go in with this guy uh new york we had us had a really good night and then i saw so much potential and we just had so much fun and he after that he was texting me the next day um i went back to michigan he went back to new orleans and he was just wanting to make it work so much and i had never seen him put in so much work into something yeah he was kind of the guy that was just like yeah like i'm not going to settle down right and all of a sudden he was so committed to me and i didn't even know if i was ready for it you know because i've never really had the stage of my life
Starting point is 00:30:52 I've dated someone my whole entire life. Yeah. I feel like I've only been single for maybe like three or four months. Really? Yeah. It's crazy. Yeah. But I don't know if it was, I mean, it just all happened so fast.
Starting point is 00:31:07 It was like something else came up or whatever. And I'm very, I give, I'll go with the flow and I'm not, it just worked out. I don't know how to describe it. You don't really have to. I was just curious. That's kind of romantic. I love that he, like, fought. for you for so long and then you were like I'm gonna give this guy a chance and I always knew he had such a good heart he was so genuine and I always described him as like a teddy bear and he made me feel comfortable and I could be my goofy self with him like that's so important I'm so easily weird around him and he knew that before and so it just made it so easy that's so important to be able to like yeah you're weird self I'm so weird as well and I love if somebody accepts me for like all of my weirdness yeah because I feel like I've dated people where I just can't let it out
Starting point is 00:31:52 And it's miserable. Yeah, you can't do that. It's just like, what is this? No, you can't. You don't appreciate this. You don't appreciate my weirdness. And that should be what people love about you because that's who you are. That should be like the main thing they love about you.
Starting point is 00:32:05 Like if you ask somebody, what do you love about Nicole? They should say like your personality and like your quirkiness. Yeah, like some or just like something that she does. That's weird. Yeah. Yeah. Not like, oh, she's. Well, I'm not clean.
Starting point is 00:32:16 I was going to say she's. Are you not clean? No, I'm just like messy, artistic. I like to say. Yeah, that's, okay, that's how I would describe your style. Artistic? Yeah. I can't, you should see me draw something, though.
Starting point is 00:32:29 It's really bad. Oh. You would think I'd be artsy, but I'm good with, like, style interior decorating, but physically drawing, it's terrible. Do you and Victor argue about style in the house? He lets me do whatever I want. That's nice. And he loves the compliments we get, and he's just always like, it's Nicole, you know.
Starting point is 00:32:48 Yeah. Oh, that's, yeah, he lets me do whatever. So 2019 has just started, and yet history has already been made. The New Normal is here. Have you seen it? Now back to Off the Vine with Caitlin Bristow. What's your biggest? roadblock that you guys run into as a couple I think like people don't think that we are because we weren't first instant love at first site type thing yeah people kind of question it
Starting point is 00:34:35 but I think I mean I don't I know that everything happened for a reason yeah and so I guess like the biggest roadblock would be the internet and people saying things as far as well that's good then yeah if that's your only if that's your biggest issue then that's about us I mean, but he's a clean freak and I'm not. So I guess that's like tiny little thing, but. Okay, that's huge. Yeah, that's great. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:59 That's, I mean, I try and think of, I mean, we're still, Jason and I are still very fresh into the honeymoon phase. So I'm like, trying to think. That's just such a fun face. It's the best. It's so fun. I get so scared of it ending because I'm like, no. No, it's, it's the best. It's all.
Starting point is 00:35:15 Yeah. Like, it's, it's the time. It's the time of your life. Yeah. Everything's just so free. and it's so fun and no matter where you go. I mean, it's like euphoric state of just like happiness and like you don't see anything negative.
Starting point is 00:35:29 No. But that's also scary because that's when, you know, like the show, the Bachelorette, for example, you're in that phase and that's when you get engaged and then you have to go into the real world and learn who that person is. Yeah, that's terrifying. Yeah. That's, that's different. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:44 So it's nice to like, I'm like, whoa, this is weird dating again. But it's also nice to like actually get to know somebody. and like the long distance like it sucks and we're making it work but it's nice to like you know do this yeah the normal way right no and and you're gonna even the long distance like i've done that we and vick did that too and it was still it's fun because you yeah it's hard but you also will see each other and then it's like oh crap he's like he's away now for a little bit but then you just yeah and you just anticipate them coming back yeah it's exciting my question that's real riveting stuff over here is I wanted to talk about your hair chopping oh because you do you
Starting point is 00:36:25 do you feel like hair is your identity like a bit do you think it is well to me it is for myself like oh for you yeah like my hair makes me like feel a certain way and your hair was like your hair is what I say I will come back with in another life like I was like in another life I'll come back with like Nicole's hair but you I never thought like to chop it and you pull off short hair so well well what's not like a confession i could say too this one's kind of lame but i the most high maintenance thing i do is i travel to nashville to get my hair done oh yeah that's okay is that like that's kind of bad but i mean everyone in my area's like what the heck um parlor three yeah that's where i go oh do you who does your hair so martin okay yeah do you know jeremy there he's like okay
Starting point is 00:37:11 okay yeah so i go there and she actually she chopped it no problem yeah but my hair my bun was my identity for the longest time and then my glasses and big brother wear a big deal too and then now I don't have either. Oh yeah. I got LASIC eye surgery and I didn't want to get LASIC eye surgery because I was like I'm going to miss wearing glasses. But you still can now I yeah it's the oh my God I'm so happy I did it because I couldn't even see my like to shave my legs in the shower. No way. I was so close to my leg. No way. Yeah. That would freak me out if I couldn't see. Wake up. Wake up line like playing a sick joke would be someone taking your glasses in the middle of the night and you're waking up and you can't see and there's like that is a sick joke yeah no seriously i freaked me out that i thought
Starting point is 00:37:57 about that that's great that you got the surgery then and you can still like glasses i wear glasses all the time without a prescription yeah no i do too now like an accessory and now just people will be like didn't you have lay sick eye surgery i'm like yes you were you know what there's blue light out there there's a lot of things out there i mean sometimes i don't even wear lenses i'm like i just I'm used to just wearing glasses and so I feel like I'm kind of it's a comfort thing yeah I tell Victor because he just had like a recent interview and I was like wear glasses if you want or don't but like when I wear my glasses I'm way better at being myself so I get that I get that I feel more like myself in a hat yeah okay see so there you go I really do I really do and you were saying
Starting point is 00:38:41 something earlier about like this could be your confession but now is your time for confession yeah you have to confess something okay so i thought about like what should i say yeah something really gross happened this morning do you think i should go with it maria she knows it's you guys probably no everyone's gonna think i'm a freak they won't that's i don't care my off the vine listeners are the most forgiving love lovely people in the world well okay whatever and no is it the gross or the better well i don't I asked Mariah if she ever did this and she said, no, and it made me feel bad. So it's not even relatable, but here we go.
Starting point is 00:39:22 Okay. I woke up this morning. Yeah. And, you know, we had leftover breadsticks from Pizza Hut. So I went and grabbed the breadstick. I'm like, oh, I got to pee. I got a pee. So I just go to the toilet, like, with the breadstick, peeing.
Starting point is 00:39:34 And then I'm like, oh, my God. And Mariah's like, what? I'm like, grab this breadstick. Like, I'm pooping. Like, I can't poop and eat a freaking breadstick. I can even poop and chew gum. I can poop and pee. I mean, I can pee and eat a bread stick.
Starting point is 00:39:46 breadstack. Right, but not poop. No. And then I was like, ew, ew, ew, I take your breadstick. And she takes- Are you pooping with the door open? This, this bathroom, like, yeah. Wow. You do that in front of Victor? No. Okay. Just your best friend. Yeah, because it's kind of like had like a little secluded restroom. But then I was like, get out, get out, get out. Like, I didn't plan on breadstick and get out. Yeah, I didn't plan on pooping. And then it just happened. You know what? So I was like, oh my God, that's so embarrassing but at the same time i mean who goes to the bathroom with a breadstick i would you would okay okay i'm fine with you going to the bathroom of the breadstick and i would totally do the same thing i ended up pooping i would freak out a little bit i don't know what i would do if i didn't have
Starting point is 00:40:29 a friend there to take it from me it's like chucked the breadstick and call it a day i thought you were going to say that you just like ate cold leftovers in the morning and i thought that was going to be your confession and i was like no i'm like you're not getting away with that the other day Jason and I were in Boston for a weekend and the Boston Harbor Hotel hooked us up with like this stupid presidential suite that was like $15,000 a night and they like gave it to they're like, it's your first Valentine's like day together and we're like, wow. That's so cute. And so we had so much fun and we ordered the best room service and like you know how Boston's
Starting point is 00:41:05 known for its clam chatter. Here's my confession. In the morning, I woke up, had a little bit of wine the night before. so feeling a little hungover and I was so hungry that I went in a cold clam chowder in my underwear in the kitchen like cold clams dude I love cold food but it had been sitting out all night and it was cold soup and I was in my underwear and just like I had makeup all over my face and like I was in was Jason still sleeping yeah okay well that's good no I went back in and I said this is a little point I have to tell you it's not mine
Starting point is 00:41:42 And he thought I was disgusting Actually he thought it was pretty funny But he was like ew, how do you do that? Because it's like clams, right? If it was like cold breadsticks, fine But clam chowder We ate something last night that was so freaked up What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:41:57 Frigged up What was, okay What was it? Waffle fries That sounds amazing What was the B word on it, Mariah? Bonita, yeah, so we thought pretty Bonita, it was
Starting point is 00:42:09 Fish eggs? No, it was like fish flakes fish flakes oh it made me bum fish flakes like what do you mean so i literally asked the guy i said i picked up a piece i'm like oh what's this i like lick it i'm like oh my god that's a sardine and i was like what is this he's like fish flakes and i was like okay how is this exactly mean because i envision a fish being grated above my fries and he's like you know that's what i envision too let me go as a chef and i was like no it's fine like and he's like yep we were right he goes no but we smoke it first and like cook it i'm like i don't give a freak i can't eat those
Starting point is 00:42:44 and victor hates fish and he's like i don't know what you're talking about they're fine and me and maria are like he hates fish and he was eating fish flakes yeah and it was the most and i like fish and i couldn't do it yeah i can i love fish and i can't imagine eating fish flakes like i'm getting a little bit nauseous talking about it i can i can still smell it fish flakes Why would you ruin fries with fish flakes? That's what I'm saying. Yeah, I'm not okay with that. I just didn't think in a million years that would be what that Bonita word meant.
Starting point is 00:43:12 That's really gross. Not that your clam chowder reminded me of that because... Did you try the hand-baked crab roll? Yeah, I did. It was really good. I tried freaking everything. Yeah, if anybody wants a restaurant recommendation for Nashville Sunday, just don't get the fish flake fries. No, that wasn't even there.
Starting point is 00:43:29 We went to a place prior to that. Oh, where'd you go? I don't know what it's called. called it was a bar across the street right next like yeah right down the street um what was it called sambuca no but it was very very close it's walking distance but the best thing at sunda that i ate was the coconut cream pie oh did you have that no but that sounds amazing coconut cream cheesecake oh even better yeah oh i love the food there so much all right one second actually nope 60 seconds that's exactly how long this commercial lasts. And you know what else you can do in about a minute?
Starting point is 00:44:06 You can get an offer on your car with true car. That's right, the amount of time it takes you to floss your teeth, pet your dog, pet your invisible dog that you don't have like myself. Do a few sit-ups or just listen to my voice. You can get a true cash offer. Best of all, you can do it from your smartphone or home. Just go to True Car and simply enter your license plate number and watch how your car's details pop up. Answer a few questions and you'll get an accurate. accurate true cash offer from a local true car certified dealer it's that easy and after that you can bring your car in and they'll check it out with you together oh you can ask questions and get the answers that you need so there's no surprises then simply leave with your check or trade in your car for a new ride
Starting point is 00:44:50 so when you're ready to experience a better way to sell or trade in your car check out true car today i'm going to get to questions from the listeners because god this is going by so fast wait you got questions from listeners a lot oh you put out there that we're recording oh i didn't even see that i put it on twitter and people i mean people have questions okay queen elizabeth wants to know what's the real reason her and broke up and does she ever check in on him dude dude no no no no and what did we break we weren't even we never even i don't even i was going to see that like were you guys ever really officially dating anyways god no yeah no right i'm like i mean i i i don't he reminds me of a person
Starting point is 00:45:32 that it gets addicted to drugs like they have a like you know they get like a small taste of something and they can't stop and they want more and it becomes unhealthy that's him with reality TV and like like he got a small taste of it and now it's like I was just a freaking idiot to even no but to even even like be slightly interested but why I mean you were in the big brother house you guys bonded it's not a big deal it's and you realize
Starting point is 00:46:02 after that's right right right the real the real world is a lot different so different yeah I was at my lowest point in life when we were whatever you want to call it whether we were together or not that was my lowest point in life I was the skinniest I had been I should like you know like oh I was like in good shape and I was eating good and and I look back at patient and like my poor self yeah I was just not feeling it and now I'm like so much happier and I'm myself and I was never myself with him and it's yeah because it's like you don't realize friend knows my mom knows everyone around me knows they can tell me whatever they want to tell me and I'm just blind to it and then after I'm like oh my gosh once you're removed from it and you look back that's like you don't realize
Starting point is 00:46:48 how unhappy you were until you realize how happy you are now yeah I agree yeah that's I can relate to that see martarano I don't know does she ever see Hayden and how does she handle questions people may still have about their relationship, aka this question. Who's Hayden? Oh, Hayden was my showmance on 16. I had two showmances. Get it, girl.
Starting point is 00:47:09 Hayden, not Hayden, like, small-mouthed Hayden from... No, Hayden boss. Oh, okay. I don't know. Hayden, oh, yeah. So, do you want me answer that? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:19 If you want... Yeah, what was the question? Do you ever see Hayden and how do you handle questions people may still have about their relationship? So, no, I don't see Hayden I don't talk to him um we ended really well he's a great dude like whoever ends up
Starting point is 00:47:38 with him is a very lucky person that's awesome I think he's so great um but he lives in Chicago I live in Michigan so we really wouldn't run into each other I think we could always be friends I just think like moving forward it just wouldn't be that good of an idea we were very much like we really liked each other you know and so I think our new boyfriends are girlfriends or fiancys, whatever, like, wouldn't really like that. Yeah, that thing. But, yeah. I get that.
Starting point is 00:48:05 I cannot wait to go back and watch. See, I'm going to start tonight just so you know. Lynn Kelly says, no question. Just make sure she knows she's absolutely loved. And that's your best guest yet. Oh, wow. You had some really cool guests. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:48:19 You should feel good about that one. I do. Chris Harrison was my favorite guest and you don't even know who that is. Shit. No, I love that. Now I do. Now you do. You learned something from this, from this,
Starting point is 00:48:30 a lot of people want to know and Kayla Rybarski says when when is she getting married in like wedding details but we talked about this yeah so I don't know for sure I'm just going to have to be 2020 probably June 2020 oh oh that's good you have a general idea that's when I want to get married yeah I just got to find a venue that well that should be super easy do where do you want where do you guys want to get married in Michigan it's so hard I've been looking for five months for well because you you want like just like a space like an event space or do you want to outdoors or something with tall ceilings and that's just like pretty and you can't find that in michigan no oh interesting not very easily not for an
Starting point is 00:49:11 affordable price i'm like trying to save money mary miller wants to know your favorite competition in the house oh for sure was the coconut my favorite competition was for sure i'm so used to like reiterating the question because of the diary room like okay so yeah if they ask you a question what's your favorite competition well my my favorite competition would have to be like oh this and they're like no reiterated yeah yeah um so was the coconut competition when i almost got eliminated when we had to like climb the tree and put the coconuts in and there was only four of us and oh my gosh that's your favorite one yeah it was because it was so exciting it was like do or die and it was it paid to be small and like fast and like a little monkey
Starting point is 00:49:51 you know that's what it was spider monkey yeah that's funny um christina wants to know what would you recommend to someone who wants to audition for Big Brother and what should they be prepared for? So auditioning, be yourself because they see through that if you're not. I feel like that's for any reality TV show. Yeah, that's true. But be an exaggerated version if you want to be and just keep up on it. And then as far as being in the, that's for your audition tapes and stuff because they're going to, they do, they don't want you to be like psycho 24-7. Right. And then being in the house, what to be prepared for.
Starting point is 00:50:28 I mean, you can't escape. Yeah. But being away from your phone is awesome. It is awesome, isn't it? And just, yeah. And just, I would give advice of just finding one person that you can work with in the Big Brother house and just stick it out to the end. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:43 Because if you get too many, it's kind of hard. That's true. And you all have to start turning on each other at some point. And then you, and then people feel like when they vote for you in the end, you owed them something. And I made sure to make everyone feel like I never owed them because I didn't personally work with them and because if you backstab someone they do not hold that lightly yeah that makes sense that makes sense um eric peterson wants to know would you ever do big brother again if you were
Starting point is 00:51:09 asked to come back for a season of all stars oh hell yeah yeah i'm preparing every day no i literally love big brother i live for it so much um i feel like a big brother loves you which is great i know i'm happy they do because they've been back almost i think every season since we've been off and uh yeah I would definitely go back. Amanda wants to know if you have any opinions on the most recent season showmances, and do you have a favorite? I, yeah, I think season 20 was really good. I think that was the best season since 16.
Starting point is 00:51:41 And then for showman, I really like Haley and Fessie, I think. They're still together? Yeah, there's still. So I respect her. They're all still together. Wow. Yeah, there's three of them, right? I don't remember.
Starting point is 00:51:55 There is Swaggy and Bruegie. Bailey they're still together yeah and they're engaged oh remember the finale and then and then um oh tyler and angela they are they seem solid yeah like they're all solid wow that's cool that's sweet that's what i mean there's three more couples in the big brother world yeah oh that's really cute uh Danielle colangelo what is the one biggest learning experience Nicole got from being on big brother also hi Nicole you and Vic are my favorite and I'm so happy to see you so in love big Nicole and Vic guy over here um your biggest learning experience um to biggest learning experience gosh see this is what I need I need to prep for these you probably I'm just going to guess
Starting point is 00:52:44 because this was my biggest learning experience from being on a show was you talk through your feelings and you talk things out a lot like you for sure because you you don't see the producer in the diary room. So it's just like you kind of talking out your feelings and thoughts and processing things alone. Yeah, no, that that is true. They probably grow a lot from that. I did grow a ton. I learned a ton. But as far as like, I'm just, I'm completely a different person than I was the first time walking into the house just from what I've seen. What have I, what I've experienced. Like confidence wise? Confidence wise, yes. I'm better at being owning who I am instead of being more timid. Yeah. I still can be shy. Yeah. Well, that's who you are. But I, if you're my friend,
Starting point is 00:53:29 you see the weird freaking side of me. And I think that I'm, I learn like, that's what people like about you. That's what people, if they don't, then screw them. People see through if you're not being yourself. Yeah. Like you said about even auditioning. Like, I just feel like as, no matter who you are, if you're shy, if you're, um, quirky, if you're, you know, like, as long as you're actually being authentic to who you are, people are attracted to that. Right. Yes. And trying to be someone that you're not is it's so exhausting because some people do make it into the house and then they have to be who yeah something else for that long imagine how exhausting that could be you don't even want to do that to yourself i couldn't do it so i don't even know if i answered the
Starting point is 00:54:09 question but no you answered it for me thank you i think that's like the reality best like that's what everyone goes through yeah alley brew says please ask her if they know what order they're voting in beforehand is that how they can make up handshakes in the hallway yeah so they we do like a little um it'll be like okay evick Justin Bieber selina gomez we'll do like a little trial thing so we do know and then we know for like about an hour in advance and you can make a little handshake in the hallway okay but they do um purposely do it you're by your like alliance members people you usually like you know so that way you can do a little hallway handshakes i love the i love the hallway moment yeah um and how did you feel this is a question for me about
Starting point is 00:54:51 all the shoutouts last season, like in the diet or in the voting, like, hi, blah, blah, hi blah, blah. It's crazy that that's because they tell you not to do that. Oh, they do? Oh, yeah, right before the show, no swearing, no shoutouts, no, another S word, something else. I can't remember. Sex? No.
Starting point is 00:55:08 I don't know, but those two, they're not allowed to do. You're not supposed to do shoutouts, right? That's interesting. So what, so what happened? I mean, they get in trouble because they did it every time. I know. Well, I'm sure they got talked about it every time. like don't do this and then they still do it i don't know that's crazy all the other questions
Starting point is 00:55:26 that people ask we pretty much talked about in the whole podcast so um well i mean i could talk to you for a long time but we're gonna have to wrap it up because i got a birthday to go to when do you guys go home tomorrow tomorrow um there's like a windstorm though so hopefully it's all good to go and in michigan oh and so who knows well the weather's been insane here too but um okay well thank you so much for being on and tell everybody where they can find your podcast because everybody should listen, especially to the one coming out with me and Jason. Yeah, so we have the best episode we've ever had with Caitlin and Jason coming out soon. I don't know when this is coming out, but it'll be the first Thursday in March, is when it's coming out.
Starting point is 00:56:04 And what's it called? It's called Coco Caliente podcast. Amazing. Yeah. And what days and where can people find it? It comes out every Thursday. And so it's on Coco Caliente podcast on Instagram, Coco Caliente pod on Twitter. And yeah, that's about it.
Starting point is 00:56:20 It's amazing. And we have a website too, but what is it? Cocoa Gallante Podcast.com. I could have guessed that. Yeah. That's amazing. Yeah, you guys are a good duo because. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:32 He compliments me. Like, he's not shy at all. And I humble him a little bit. You know, sometimes he needs a little bit of humbling and sometimes I need a little bit like, go get him. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel, well, Jason and I are both a lot together.
Starting point is 00:56:46 Like he's a lot and I'm a lot. But he's very like New York a lot. sometimes and I have to be like you need to just shut up which is funny because on the first time I ever met him was on my podcast and he was like I need a girl that can tell me to shut up and I definitely tell him to shut up you guys are very cute you guys have a great dynamic we're very compatible yeah you are and I don't think neither one of you you compliment each other so much it's not when we were talking to you guys like you know what he was going to say I love listening to him talk to he's a great voice he's got a great voice and he's so well spoken yeah true like anytime he's talking I don't don't get like oh god what's he gonna say i'm like he's going to handle this in the best way possible and he is he every time he's so well spoken that i just enjoy listening to him talk which is crazy because i'm a big talker and i like you know have a mic and i always thought i would need to be with somebody who was quiet because i'm a lot but i love that he can handle conversations and like hold his own and that's what i like about victor i told i like to take him places
Starting point is 00:57:44 because it's like i can just eat fight out a little bit like peep in when i I want and he will completely take care of everything totally like I love this yeah that's so true he can like hang yeah oh for sure with anybody and everyone that meets him loves him and I feel like that's what is with Jason because fix like I really love him yeah I think they're they actually are similar yeah yeah they're just similar like they are similar and yeah yeah tall dark and handsome yeah and easy to talk to you well you know what we really out kicked our coverage and we we we're really they're bringing up our group average yeah yeah yeah no i'm i'm so grateful to like have him as a co-host though could you i mean honestly can you imagine me doing this by myself i can no i think he he
Starting point is 00:58:32 in podcasting i think he does do a great job complimenting you he does a good job but i do think you could do it on your own i think you don't give yourself enough credit anyways everybody go listen to their podcast thanks for having yeah of course and thanks for hanging out in the background again today.
