Okay, welcome to Off the Vine.
I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow.
I'm not even going to do like a little intro because sometimes it's cheesy.
I just want to jump right into it.
We've got pile of Pete in the house doing a, okay, are you so nervous to do interviews right now?
I mean, yeah, so I haven't done any press at all, you know, since the show ended at all.
So this is, yeah, this is like, you know, the first couple of days.
So I'm not too nervous.
No, I'm good.
I'm excited.
Do you have a drink because I do?
And sometimes that helps me if I'm nervous.
Actually, I do.
Yeah.
Stella Artois.
Okay, good, because I'm going to be making you play a drinking game later that I need you to be all lubed up for you.
Oh, boy.
All right.
Let's do it.
so okay i know you haven't done much press since since your show was it because of the way it
ended or like was it just too hard or what was the reason because i remember when being in your
position and i remember not wanting to do press either but i had no option how did you get away
with you know getting off the hook and not having to do some press there yeah i i guess um
things kind of worked out i guess uh for the better for me um
in regards, I guess, the whole Corona thing, to be honest, kind of stopped things as well.
So, like, there's going to be no tour with that.
And then, to be honest, I just, it wasn't like appropriate, obviously, for where Madison
and I were in a headspace right after he walked off stage.
That was a tough moment for us.
And I think everyone could understand that.
So we were very grateful that they did.
And, yeah, I just wanted to take some time to myself and just reflect on stuff and, you know,
talk with obviously Madison and then talk with my family and just be there for,
each other. And fresh just wasn't the thing that was at the top of my list. And I guess I just
got lucky that they accommodated that. Yeah, that is. I mean, it's so hard when you come off
that kind of show and you are already under so much like scrutiny and pressure and people
with their opinions. And you can't really tell your full truth through press because of obvious
reasons and contracts and whatever. Because everyone just wants to ask you those hard-hitting
questions of like really touchy subjects and they don't understand that you're kind of in the
thick of it in that moment and it's it's really really challenging um so so now i'm going to do it
now i'm going to try and go easy on you um i think i think people have been really hard on you
um i think they're hard on every season but for some reason you everyone's being really hard on
you do you think like there's a reason because people shit on every season people shit on
they'll always find a reason but people seem to continue to um try and you know i don't want to say
attack but in a way attack you like for example hana b and tyler the quarantine crew they're you know
they're not six feet apart and they're doing whatever traveling to see each other and everyone's
like obsessed you go you know one time to chicago which i'm sure you're traveling there for pick up
who we think is kelly and everyone shits on you for it like why
do you think you think you're getting this kind of like hate i i i don't know i've thought about that
for a while i don't know i think it all goes back to it's funny like you asked that like it goes back
to just even the season like um you know all like the criticism like going through like as the bachelor
was airing and the entire time i'm just there and obviously you see the comments and you hear it and i'm
like guys i'm kind of like comical because i'm like i'm literally the exact same person that i was on
the bachelorette and like i was very lucky to have like
I felt like a good reaction from everyone on that season.
And then I see this season, I'm like, guys, I can't change.
I can't be anyone other than who I am.
And it's like a complete 180.
I'm just like, how in the world?
All I can say is maybe, you know, obviously people were invested in the season, obviously.
And, you know, my decisions, trust me, I've heard the critiques nonstop.
And, you know, obviously the mistakes and all that.
And all I can think is people, you just were really invested and so invested to the point that when they didn't agree with my decisions,
that really just kind of irked them a little bit
and they just wanted to hold on to that
because I was the exact same person
and I wasn't the Bachelorette.
Yeah, I know.
It's so hard.
I mean, I can only say this
because I've been through a similar situation,
but it was the same like people, you know,
or they love seeing whoever you are on The Bachelor
and then when it comes down to you
having to make these hard decisions
and everything, all the pressure
and all the decision making,
everything's up to you.
You're constantly hurting people's feelings
through the whole process.
You don't see how we're,
attached to different, you know, cast members.
You don't see you certain things.
So all the blame just like unfortunately lands on you because you're the lead.
And that's just that happens every season.
I just find that you had a pretty tough time when it came to critics.
And I, I can relate to that.
But when it's all said and done, like you're a human being, anyone who goes on national
television to date, however many people, you're always going to make mistakes.
You're always going to fuck up.
You're always going to like piss people.
off and there's just you know it'll all pass when the new bachelor comes around we'll all either love or hate him too but
if people loved you or if people decided to hate on you at the end of the day i think everybody can
agree that you you grew through that process and you know like figured stuff out and probably
learned a lot about yourself through that and i was wondering what you did learn what you did learn
about yourself through that whole journey listen i i i know i knew the kind of person that i was like
I knew who I was going into The Bachelor.
Obviously, I learned a lot of stuff, but I knew who I was going into it.
And that was someone that, listen, just who I am with my heart and how I kind of wear it on my sleeve
and being a very empathetic person, someone that does like to give people the benefit of the doubt.
Not saying be walked all over, but I'm the last person that likes confrontation and all that stuff.
And at the very end of this, I, if anything, learned just to put my foot down, you know, a lot more.
And, you know, not, I just, and the kind of person that, I hate pissing people off.
I hate hurting people.
I hate making people feel that way.
And, like, obviously in this position, I had to do it almost 30 times.
And, like, that sucked for me so bad.
And I just, I guess I've just gotten, like, a lot tougher skin throughout it all.
I'm okay just being a little bit, you know, sterner.
And honestly, like, having a little bit more of barbid me.
I'm serious like speaking to my voice and having my voice be heard and not just like everything like
my saying is it's all good that's how I've always lived my life and I still want to always have
that kind of gratitude and live that way but sometimes things aren't all good and I've going into the
show I kind of was just like that's I'm just going to look through glasses like this and sometimes
that's not the case and yeah just you know sticking up for myself a little bit more and just put it
I like that because I mean speaking of barb I've always loved barb I've always been a big barb guy
and I mean whether you can disagree with her agree with with anything after the show like you said
she she stood up for what she really believed in and my question about that was like while she was
doing that and clearly just obviously coming from a place of love for her son and wanting the best
and seeing things that maybe other people didn't see that maybe you didn't even see at times like
you know having her motherly instincts when you're when you're up there in that moment did you
realize did you know that one there was going to be so much barb air time that they're just
going to be on her the whole time and two did you did you know she was going to react that way
were you prepared for that first part no i did not know that she would have so much airtime
to be honest that part um i i wasn't necessarily like so okay with because of the main reason
I felt like it took away from Madison and I on stage.
And that should have been, you know, that portion of the show should have been more about
the two of us and nothing else.
And I've let that opinion be heard to everyone.
That frustrated me a lot.
I knew that my mom, like, listen, it's never been my mom doesn't like Madison at all,
like as a person, not at all.
It's just she obviously in that state was very emotional and very passionate.
And could the delivery have been a lot different?
Absolutely.
But it was just mainly her, like you said,
looking out for her son, having those motherly instincts, you know, they say mom's no best. Honestly,
like, I'm a huge believer in that. And like, not in every aspect, but like a lot of times,
yeah, your mom, she's only got your best interest. And that was what that was all about.
But I wish it would have been, you know, a little bit less focused on, you know, my family
and her and just more about me and my relationships. Yeah. I mean, as of you were watching it,
I felt the same way. I was like, okay, like, I feel like Barb, your mom was put on the spot.
like I don't know if she even realized how much air time she was getting right of course because
you don't see that when you're in that studio you don't see that little bar bubble like that little
you know bottom camera that's just showing your reactions to everything and they put her up for like
the majority of the show having her reactions and and so it became more about her reactions than
what was actually happening in your in your relationship but um I again your mom said something
about how we don't see everything and, you know, Madison made them wait and whatever, but
I mean, you probably can't answer this, but like, you know, let me have my fun here and ask.
What did we not see?
Like what, because even watching that without you saying anything without even your mom saying
anything, I did feel like we were missing something and that we were just seeing this like
really polished version and edited version of somebody and it just kept going well the whole time.
up until the end and I'm just wondering like what did we miss what did we not see that that barb saw
um to be completely honest I mean a lot of it really did start um and listen I again I have all the
respect in the world for Maddie like but I'll call everything out like just being honest with it um
you know like when we were when we were out there in Australia uh for the you know my family was there
waiting. Granted, this was 100% my doing, and I was the one that had put Maddie in the
headspace that she was in with my previous actions from the Fantasy Sweet Week. But yeah, we,
that wasn't a joke. Like we, we, we, I was essentially out there for almost three hours
trying to convince Maddie to, you know, come in and talk with my family. And so we literally
had them wait three hours inside. And I totally get why Maddie was, you know, so hesitant and not
in the right headspace. And I just try my best to kind of calm her down and just let her know,
really like in my then the reason I did that was my thought process was like listen my family just
flew halfway around the world to you know visit with the final two I can't not have Maddie come in
and at least just talk them a little bit like that's for nothing that's for sure done then like there's
no chance for us and so that's why it was so important to me maybe I push Maddie a little bit too
much um I could admit to that but um that really I know didn't sit well with my parents and then it just
kind of was like it wasn't off to a good start and it was kind of coming into like the lines then
almost like everyone was just kind of annoyed and um you compare that to hannah ann and when she met
my family and it was completely different a complete 180 um it was unfortunate and uh you know obviously
you know i think my family they obviously saw a lot of differences right there that between
mattie and i in regards to just lifestyle and just compatibility and they were just um really just
concerned and looking out for me um and i think that was there's nothing like else like crazy that
happened, you know, behind the scenes. Again, Maddie, I didn't see here after the show until,
you know, she surprised me. She didn't see my parents or anything like that. Nothing like that happened,
but yeah, that's, that's really all it was. I mean, even from, even from like after when Chris Harrison
flew to, what was it, Auburn, is that where she was from? Auburn, yeah. Okay, my memory
so terrible. Like, you really didn't know that he was doing that? No, no, they didn't. The only thing I knew
was I had a producer text me and say, hey, if you see pictures of Maddie, she's, you know,
she's being filmed right now in Auburn. I guess some stuff that's been posted online, but
like they couldn't tell me what it was. But they gave me like a heads up that you might see pictures
of Maddie with the film crew. All right. Do you own or rent your own home? I'm sure you do. And I bet
it can be a lot of hard work. You know what's really easy, though, is bundling policies with
Geico. Geico makes it easy to bundle your homeowners or renter's insurance, a
along with your auto policy, and it's a good thing, too, because you already have a lot to do around
your home. Go to geico.com, get a quote, and see how much you could save. It's Geicoe easy.
Visit guyco.com today. That's geico.com. I feel like your season, and I don't know if you
agree with me on this, but your season was like, and this is not your fault, this is production or
whatever, but I felt like it was confusing. Like, I don't feel like they showed enough to make
storylines work it just certain things felt confusing to me with like even how um sorry i always get
confused on names madison was just gone and then you and hannah are all of a sudden engaged and you
guys seem so happy but i don't feel like they showed enough of your true relationship um your true
connection in order for us to believe that um that engagement was genuine do you feel like they
cut a lot out i i was frustrated yeah with um with editing and stuff
that was left out, stuff that was used for a multitude of reasons.
Again, I understand, though, it's a TV show, and there's only two hours for a couple
three-hour episodes here and there, but I'm sure you had the same frustrations, you know,
from your season.
Like, there's so much, so much that's left out and that sometimes, especially like with,
you know, the relationships toward the end, like people, people didn't really understand stuff
and, like, really where, how far we were along in our relationship, not even just with, I
I mean, one specifically with Victoria F.
I remember like that relationship, I was really, really frustrated with what they did show
because it made it seem so much crazier than it actually was.
And like just an example, like when we were out at, you know, her hometown outside of the house,
it made me seem like just an idiot, just like, okay, I asked you about this accusation.
And then you kind of like just come back into my face and then I just, oh, it's okay, I'll forgive you.
And we had had a whole 20 minute conversation where she explained literally everything that I was
bringing up to her and they never showed that and it's like ah it's it's frustrating but again i get it's tv
and there's only so many so much time so it is it's so hard for i mean there's a small handful of us
that can relate and understand and hear your frustrations but to the world it seems so silly and
like you just you know you seem like the bad guy out of it when there's so much you could
explain or and again you're under contract so you can't say too much and you know it's just it's so
hard and I hope you've been like taking time to, I think you have been, to just be with family
and kind of isolate yourself from the outside world. And have you been like paying attention
to what people are saying? Are you doing a pretty good job at ignoring it? I mean, no,
I've definitely heard, heard some of the critics and all that. And, you know, I really have kind
of appreciated that I really have gotten that tough skin, like I said. And because at first it's easy
really let it affect you. But one thing, again, that I just, I keep realizing is that all that
stuff is just it's really not real. Not once in real life. Have I ever had anybody through any
flight or anything say anything mean? It's all just been so much love and support. And that's what
I keep my focus on because social media and the internet, it's real, but it's really not real. It's
not reality. You know what I mean? And that's what I just keep my focus on. Yeah, it's so hard to do
that. I feel like I always thought as time went on, things would get different. And I'm like,
like, you know, still waking up today and people are hating on me for something. It's just
like, you know, there's always going to be people like that out there. But I just, no, never. And I
think you're part of it with me where I am the same way. I like to, I'm a people pleaser. And I hate
disappointing people. And so when you know, like, you're just being yourself. And by being yourself,
you're disappointing people. That's one of the hardest things to like swallow and accept that, oh,
I'm just being me and people hate me for being myself. That's perfectly said. Yeah. And then
knowing that like they didn't hate me like some people didn't hate me from the bachelorette i'm like guys same
person here same peter i know it's so hard and i know that um it's hard to do these kinds of
interviews because you're having to relive things that you're already trying to move on from
obviously people all have the same kinds of questions we all want to know like when you did get
engaged in that moment truth truthfully from the bottom of your heart like in your soul did you feel that
was right or did you have like a feeling so looking back on it now and just being so yeah truthful
with with myself i was that you know asked a question like listen like was was was was Hannah and
just your second place you know option and i was like no like that's not the case like i legitimately
did give my heart to two people i promise you i did and i would have been the same way if it would
have been Hannah Ann leaving abruptly and just like out of nowhere and having that having to do with that
heartbreak if it was in Madison again. I really would have. Looking back on it, I do think I
probably tried to convince myself that I was ready for an engagement at that point with Hannah-Anne.
I knew that I loved her, but I was struggling so hard with having to just cope with the relationship
that just ended and then put that heartbreak aside and not really grieve it like you'd properly
do in a normal, in the real world. That was so difficult for me. And it was a tough week. It was a lot
of confusion. It was, you know, nothing against like my feelings for Hannah Ann. Like,
those were real. But looking back, I do think, yeah, there's, I probably did try to convince
myself that I was ready. Well, I mean, you're under production. You're in a situation where
the format of the shows to get engaged at the end. You're trying to like, you know, again,
being a people pleaser, okay, that's what people want to see an engagement. You want to want to be
ready for that. So you're putting yourself in the position to talk yourself into it. And that should
never really be how an engagement goes but that's i mean i understand it other people in the bachelor
world understand it that you're you're trying to like i always say play the game but you're trying to
follow the rules where the people want to see an engagement you want to please people you want them
to tune in you want and you want to believe that you're there with somebody and that it's you know
you know it's going to take some work but you're you're ready to do it and and you want to do it
because you know that's part of the show and yeah and if i didn't feel i was in love with with
Hannah Ann, I can guarantee you, no matter what, I would not have done that. I can assure everybody of
that. And it trusts me, it kills me just knowing that, you know, that what ended up happening
happened, especially just with Hannah Ann and just like taking that away from her and breaking
her heart and putting her through that. Like that, that's all on me. And, you know, I'm very sorry
for that. But I remembered like my thought process too was even though I was like dealing with all
this stuff, the heartbreak, but also trying to like realize what I had in front of me with
Hannah Ann. I was like, listen, I've been through heartbreak before. I've gotten through over every
heartbreak and time does heal all wounds. Eventually, I'll get to a point where I'm fine with
this relationship as well. Do I want to possibly risk giving up an amazing relationship with Hannah-Anne
because right now I'm hurting? No. And, you know, I have a feeling that there's a chance this
can turn into something beautiful. And I think that was part of me, my thought process with doing it.
And then going through, you know, the happy couple weekends and really getting to know somebody,
it's, was it then that you realized, like you were obviously still thinking about somebody else? Because
we didn't see a lot of your happy couple times with Hannah Ann again, so people are left
confused. But we didn't see that. So did you guys have like a few good weeks? And then you're
just realizing you're still thinking about somebody else? Is that what happened? We totally did.
We had amazing weeks. We did have a lot of fun. I know no one saw that. But we had three or four
of them, one in Australia, and then I think three in the States. And we did, we got along really well.
We had fun with each other. But I think, and yes, was a little bit of it, you know, just
unresolved feelings elsewhere? Yeah, a little bit. It wasn't all of it at all. I think I just
started to realize three happy couples that I don't, I didn't think we actually were as compatible as
maybe I thought we were. And I didn't think that maybe we challenged each other as as much as I
kind of needed in a relationship. And that's nothing against her or anyone else. Like that's just the
truth. And it, it sucked when I kind of started to realize that and you're completely removed
from the show and the stuff that helps make the relationship so just beautiful and then just
fun and just a love story.
And romantic, yeah.
Yeah.
And then you guys, you don't have that solid foundation truly built yet to then go through
two months of what you guys are having to take.
You're barely seeing each other.
You're hearing all these rumors.
All these people are talking.
No one knew what happened about us truly because we literally didn't tell anyone except our
immediate family.
And just a tough time.
But I think, yeah, the short answer is it just like compatibility and like the challenging
and each other aspect wasn't quite where I thought it was going to be.
It's so hard, too, because you have two options.
You please everybody else and stay in the relationship,
or you please your own heart and yourself
and go after what you think is right.
And you're literally damned if you do and damned if you don't.
You're, you know, then the whole world is against you.
How dare you treat her that way?
But you're like, well, am I supposed to just stay with somebody
because the show and everybody watching wants me to?
So then you fast forward to going, you know, you and Madison want to try and make it work and you had this whole moment.
Now, my confusion again comes in where I'm like, you and Hannah Am were engaged.
All this stuff happened that way we didn't get a chance to see a lot of.
Then you, you know, to me watching, I'm like, wow, that must, Madison must be the girl of his dreams.
Like for him to leave, do all this, follow his heart.
Clearly the family has other opinions.
but that must be his person
that he would do anything for
so I was like wanting to believe
in that love story and then we see you guys on the
couch after the final rose
I felt zero chemistry
between you two I don't know if you felt that
or what was happening but like and I'm sure you've heard that
before but to me I'm like you would
think there would just be so much passion and romance
they're like we couldn't you know be
apart and we went through this whole thing together
and I left my other relationship because
we knew we had to be together and it
clearly just wasn't there
and I'm just wondering like why and and how hard that must have been on both of you guys being up
there having that kind of pressure on you in your relationship that's a great question because I felt
the I felt the exact same thing to be honest on the couch and I don't I don't quite know why it was
like that so we hadn't seen each other since after you know when Madison came in and surprised me
we you know had to exchange each other's phone numbers and we were able to communicate but
in FaceTime we never saw each other until on that live stage and um
Um, I don't, I don't know if it was just both of us being uncomfortable. Um, we, we didn't
really know, we truly didn't know how it was going to go on stage. We really didn't. We had
talked about stuff and talked issues through if like, we thought this could actually work if it
was really like an actual feasible thing. But we want, we hadn't made a decision for sure of what
we were going to do. And, uh, I think that was just a little bit of the nerves coming through and
the unknown. And then obviously just everything that kind of transpired was just a little
uncomfortable yeah i mean of course it's uncomfortable but what was the relationship like like you guys
didn't see each other but you again you said you had face time and you were communicating was it just
really hard because let me just speak from experience that you to have a really strong relationship with
anybody the foundation of it is everything to have a strong foundation coming off a show like the
bachelor is next to impossible it's it's so hard and people
do not realize the emotions and confusion and, like, where your heart's at to try and get through
something like that. And there's so much just emotional, like, I don't know, I don't even know
how to explain it. It's, it's insane. So to have a foundation from that is, again, next to impossible.
So you're coming out of that. You've already been engaged. Now you're trying to convince Madison,
who clearly had some, like, problems with the show and how the show works. It must have not been
easy, breezy to go from Hannah Ann to Madison to just having, you know, a text,
FaceTime relationship to onstage live in front of the world. Like, it must have been pretty
challenging. Yeah, that wasn't, that was extremely challenging. You know, I, it was, I know it was tough
for, you know, Madison, you know, to know that I was engaged to Hannah Ann and then to still, you know,
want to try to give it a shot. That wasn't easy for her. It wasn't easy for me to admit to her, you know,
when she came to visit me and you know we did we had a lot of really good conversations uh you know
be like face time on the days that led up to afr but i don't know it's just it you know what's crazy
is like the first time we truly had that like we never had a fantasy suite where it was like cameras
off mics off the first time we truly had that moment was after the show was over and it was after
afr after hotel and it's like it was weird like we never really had that chance to
have I love the show and I've always been like the biggest supporter of the show but we never
had the true chance to have a normal relationship or being just kind of like attacked and all
this stuff like having to face all this diversity first time we had alone time was after the show was
over I actually didn't even think about that till right now you guys did not get that moment which is
huge it's the reason they have those fantasy suites is to actually remove the cameras remove everything
be able to just get down to like your mom
morals, your values, you're who you are as a person, like, what things, there's so many things to
talk about that you don't get to because I think what people don't see is that you really don't
get time with these people unless it's on camera and what, and what the producers want you to
talk about, you know, if you start talking about other things that you really want to talk
about in a relationship, they'll kind of cut you off and get back to the stuff that people
want to see on The Bachelor. So your fantasy suite, everyone thinks it's like, Bounce you go, wow,
Wow. It's not. It's like a lot of actual necessary conversation to be had and things that matter in life. Religion, politics. So many things that you can talk about that you can't talk about on the show. So I didn't even think about that that you guys didn't get that. We had a little bit, a little bit of time. Like the day she said she had surprised me. But like the real, I mean, real, real, like solid time. Yeah, it was right after the show was over. Like you come off that stage. How, what happened when you got off that stage of after the final rows? You just knew you weren't going to do.
depressed and you got to go have like some alone time like was it stressful or like tense or yeah no that
was tough i remember we walked off stage and um you know obviously she was she was pretty upset and
i was you know i was struggling with everything and we uh we walked back up to like the
the waiting rooms or the changing rooms there and then we just kind of like sat with each
other um just by ourselves for a little bit had some producers come in and just talk to us and then we
ended up leaving the studios there and uh i had gone back to my hotel she had gone back to hers she went to
but talked to her family a little bit on the phone.
And she came over to my hotel and stayed for a little bit.
And we just talked and we're there for each other to support each other.
Didn't really talk too much through like a possible relationship that night.
But then, you know, the next day her mom had flown out and stayed with her for the day.
And then the next day is when I went over to her place.
And we just pretty much decided to hash everything out.
And, you know, literally spent like six hours just on her bed, just talking, crying, laughing.
Yep.
Just doing that, you know, like that typical, like final.
we kind of like knew it was sad because we kind of knew like the sentiment of it the whole time was it's over like this is like this is not gonna this it's actually over it's not going to be anything else after this and we decided just to be completely logical about everything and like remove all of our feelings and our heart and not let that affect our conversation at all just talk about this like compatibility issue and we're really honest with each other and um you know at the end of the day we realize like no you know unfortunately we just really aren't compatible and
and that's that's all you need to know and that's you know if you're if two people are not
compatible as much as everyone else wants to see at work if you guys are not compatible you're
not compatible don't don't waste anybody's time at that point you know trying to be compatible
for the world to love the happy ending of the show and and again I'm sure I'm sure you felt
that way with with Hannah Ann it just you tried and you wanted it to be there and you
remove the romance of the show and the compatibility just wasn't there
and the world wants to hate on you for it.
And I'm probably part of, you know,
we all watch the show from different lenses of what you're actually dealing with through it.
So it's so easy to get angry and poke fun and get mad and everything.
But I think people forget that you're a real person on the other end of it,
just trying to navigate your way through actual relationships and have these emotions
and trying to make everybody happy is trying to make everybody happy is the hardest job in the world.
And The Bachelor and The Bachelorette always have to try and do that and you'll never win.
Oh, you will never win.
Ever.
It's the absolute hardest thing in the world.
So if you're a fan of my show, which I hope you are, you know I'm all about self-care and feeling the best that I can, even though I have a very busy schedule.

You're listening to Off the Vine with Caitlin Bristow.
What's one thing you can't believe I haven't asked you about yet?
What's one thing?
Wait, is this obvious?
Oh, oh, oh.
Is it start with a K?
Yeah.
Starts with a K and ends with the Ellie.
Ellie?
Kelly.
Okay, what the heck?
So many questions right now that I don't know if you have answered, want to answer, can answer, I don't know.
I'll answer everything.
Okay, amazing.
Okay.
I mean, you've been quarantining.
We saw you with Kelly.
Are you guys dating?
No.
No, we're not.
Yeah.
No, we're not.
Yes.
Okay.
No, listen, we are not dating.
We, how this whole thing kind of started, you know, we had reconnected again and we started communicating.
She's always been extremely supportive of me.
And so we had reconnected.
And then, long story short, she had had something she was dealing with.
So I wanted to come be here for her and support her.
I came out to Chicago.
I had some days off from work.
She was by herself and I wanted to take her mind off things.
Ended up just quarantining here instead of going back home just because my parents, you know, in their 60s.
I didn't want to risk giving them anything.
And I have to go to work still as an essential worker with the airlines.
And so, yeah, we just have been enjoying each other's time and company.
I love being around her.
She's been so amazing, so patient with me.
Just so, it's exactly like kind of what I needed in this kind of situation.
And I'm so grateful for her.
But listen, I just being, like, if I've learned anything,
it's to take things extremely slow and not to rush in anything.
I just got out of an engagement.
I just, a couple weeks ago, is figuring out a relationship, you know,
in the public eye.
and, you know, I'm going to take this really slow, but I love being around her.
Okay, so you're not dating, but you love being around her and you're taking it slow.
Yeah, exactly.
So you obviously, do you like her more than a friend? Yes or no?
Yeah, I'm crushing on Kelly.
Okay, that's so cute.
I mean, here's another prime example.
And again, no shade.
I hope everyone knows.
I'm a full supporter of everyone in their feelings, and I can talk to everyone.
you want to have different conversations, but I'll always try and see where someone else is coming
from. Hannah B, which also curious about, she, you know, she tries it with Jed. Jed's a douche.
She goes to, you know, wants to try it with Tyler. Why wouldn't she? Then, you know, then she comes
on to your season and then now she's back hanging out with Tyler. We don't know. And I would be
doing the exact same thing. Okay. If things didn't work out for me in certain ways, I would be
exploring because I'd be like, look, there's clearly connections here.
I experienced. Maybe I did let go of it too soon. That is part of the risk of the show. We don't
know, like, you know you have connections with these people. So she does it and everybody's like,
oh, this is the content we need. And then you do it and everyone's like, you man, whore.
It's insane. Like the double standard is quite crazy. But no, that's a good point though.
It's, you know, having this unique situation, you've now just dated so many people in a two month
time frame and all that stuff is fresh and if something didn't work out you know for whatever reason
and now you're you know you're single it's it's kind of it's kind of cool to have that option
I know I had something there let me maybe go explore that again and obviously you know um you know
Kelly and I just we've had kind of a crazy story with just the serendipity of it all with
freaking the beginning of the show ran into her again actually with Jason um in Miami just
quick brief like hello and um it's been crazy that's what I remember Jason messaging me in Miami and
He was like, well, I don't know.
I don't even know what happens.
He's like, he won't tell me anything.
I'm not digging.
He's like, I don't know.
And he goes, but we ran into Kelly.
And it was just a brief hello, but I didn't know to like, you know, it was all so strange.
And then Kelly wrote me on Instagram being like, oh, sorry.
I know.
It was like weird to see Jason and just said hi, but tell him nice to meet him.
Like, it was just all a weird situation.
And I'm like sitting here trying to figure out because, again, this is the first season where we're like,
what the hell is going on and what happened?
but why
okay in your opinion
why was Kelly not at women tell all
and then why was she at your finale
both two very weird things
for where you guys are at now
yes extremely weird
and I don't know and she doesn't know
and like she could tell you she doesn't know
she truly doesn't know I remember she like
she'd ask producers and I guess they didn't give her
like a legit answer that made sense to her
but I think for I think for the finale
I think they were like and they everyone had been
admit like they were just trying to like
because there had been rumors like that she was pregnant or something
and so I think I was just like
For the entertainment factor, I don't know, like throw people off or whatnot, just to make it kind of fun.
But that's, she really didn't know anything else above that.
And then she was just invited to the finale to watch you go through that and then to be weird.
I remember being on stage with Chris when I first got out and it was the first commercial break.
And then he goes, yeah, we had, we had Kelly up there.
And he points to her.
And she's like waving.
She's like right in the middle, like up in the stands.
And he's like, yeah, like I did a little shout out to her earlier in the show.
I was like, what?
What is happening?
that's so funny like I I think I've talked about this on my podcast before but same thing with me when I go out to think I'm having this you know magical moment of being engaged to Sean and like we're you know we're gonna go and here we are as a happy couple and we were good in that point and neither one of our families were invited we didn't know why but they weren't and I'm like on my way to go do Kimmel before doing the finale and I walk out the door and I see Nick's whole family walking in.
Nick was obviously my runner up and you know they had gone through this twice now at this point
and they had looked at me in the eyes being like don't make him go through this again well there I did
I made him go through it again and I see his whole family walking towards me and I just ducked behind
a van and like crept around and like got into my car and like went and I'm like what the hell are
why is Nick's family here and they're like Caitlin you know like you've put him through a lot let
him have his family here they're just going to be backstage in his dressing room for support
and I was like, well, I would love my family here for support,
but I didn't get that option.
Then I come out on to live the live millions of people watching finale.
Nick's whole family is front row,
including his little sweet sister who I loved so much.
Everyone is just staring at me, front row.
And I'm like, and then Nick has to come out and talk to me,
and I was just like, shook the whole time I just was standing there silent.
And then everyone's like, you were such a bitch to Nick.
And I'm like, no, I literally just felt so stupid up there with this whole family front row
when I didn't know, you know, like, there's so many little things through everything that
throw you off or are there for dramatic effect or editing or certain things.
Like, it's really tough because you're a character to everyone else, but you're a real person
and you're going through a lot with you and your family and people in your lives.
And it's so hard.
Thank you for opening up and sharing things with me.
And I hope things work out for you and Kelly, because that would be really.
really cute. And you know what? You can have a better foundation with that than you could with
other things. Like, you know, I don't know. That's just what I believe. It's hard to, um, to understand
other people being engaged and, and then not being engaged, but going back to one person and then,
okay, that didn't work and then going back to another. But people will never understand it unless
they're in it. Very true. Yeah. And we'll see what happens. I don't know. Like I said,
just kind of one day to time, taking it slow and I'm just really enjoying a, you know, this time that
have together. So you're in Chicago right now? I am. This is Kelly's apartment. I got
Dustin right over here and Kelly in that room. Okay, I'm dying. It showed up as Kelly when you
came in on the Zoom call. And I'm like, if this motherfucker tries to tell me that there's
nothing going on. It's so bad if I was like, yeah, I'm in LA right now. I'm like sitting here
because I didn't want to like, I don't want to like, I didn't know if you were going to be like,
oh shit, what did I do? But this whole time I've been like, if this motherfucker tries to tell
me he's not anything with Kelly and he's sitting here here on her Zoom meeting.
I don't have a Zoom cast. I'm using hers. Oh my gosh. That's so funny. Okay. Okay. Well,
That could have been hilarious. I know. That could have been a good confession because we all know on
this podcast, I make every one of my guests confess something embarrassing and I'm sure
you have something good for me. So do you have a good confession for me that you want to share?
A good confession. I mean, there's got to be something that's happened to you, whether it's
it's over the bachelor time or your life that you're like I can't believe I'm about to tell you
this Caitlin all right this this is like one of those embarrassing moments in my life um so I um this is like
years ago and one of my uh my mom's friends is in town with her daughter and they were visiting um
they were visiting like colleges in L.A. area they weren't from California so um myself her daughter and my
best friend Chad. We, um, we go to PanExpress. Panxpress is like my favorite, like fast food
place to go to. And I get two orders of chow, or two orders of orange chicken, one or, or,
and then chame. So I go to a meal with a Coke. And we all get our meals. We go to one of the three
high top tables and, um, we just start eating, having a good time. So my best friend Chad has
always had this power over me to literally make me lose it in like laughter whenever he wants.
And it's just like, no one else kind of has that power except for him.
And he, and he, yeah, and he, and he knows it. And so this wasn't planned by him. But anyway, so I'm kind of like, I'm crushing on this girl, right? Like, I think she's really cute. And, um, we're just chatting. I'm like halfway done with my food, taking a sip of Coke. As Chad says this, I don't even remember what it was now, but this hilarious comment to me that just makes me absolute lose it. As I'm taking my sip of Coke, it's starting to go down and then I just feel the laugh attack come. Everything just starts coming right back up. And then,
then I just lean over my plate, projectile vomiting all over my entire plate.
I fill up my entire plate with throw up.
It fills in the red little trades that we have at Panda Express everywhere.
I'm continuing to laugh as I'm just throwing up in front of this girl.
Chad's starting to lose his shit because he can't stop laughing now.
I'm absolutely losing it.
I am mortified.
This is like happen.
This is like prime time at Panda Express like 6, 7 p.m.
The restaurant's completely full.
Everyone's attention is 100% on me.
and I'm like, we need to get out of here.
Like, we need, I can't even look at anyone.
So we real quickly, we get our trays.
I have so much throw up on my tray that I have to, like, very carefully pick it up and walk it to the trash can.
And I remember there's a family of four, and there was like a dad that was staring at me.
And I was so mortified, but I made eye contact with him.
And he was right near the trash can.
And as I was just passing him, the tray tilted a little bit and some throwup, just splattered right next to his foot.
And I didn't say anything, didn't do anything.
I threw it in the trash and ran out of there.
Cut out as fast as possible. It's horrible.
Okay, wait, is this pre-show or post-show?
No, this is pre-show. This is like years ago. I was like, was that the question?
Pre-show or post-show?
No, no, no, no, it doesn't matter.
I was just curious because if people, like, knew who you were and you're like,
in its prime time at Panda Express, which I didn't know there was like a prime time.
Or it was like, it was full, you know?
No, this is, I was like, I don't know.
I was probably like 18, 18, 19, I would say, when this happened, but I've never forgotten.
I remember we went to go like somehow try to distract the girl or like, oh, let's go show you my
old high school or something. So we went to my high school and I kept feeling like I had throw up
stuck in my lungs and I kept trying to cough it out and it wouldn't come out. And I thought I was
like, did you just like ignore the fact to her that you vomited everywhere? Like you
pretended like it didn't happen. I mean, she like she was laughing and she was like very uncomfortable
too. But we just kind of like laugh at off at the end. I've seen her since and like it's a
crazy, crazy story that we'll never forget. But I like that would have been, that's funny.
but that would have been a lot funnier if people, like, knew who you were and watched you, like,
Oh my God.
Projectile vomited into your panda.
What is a Panda Express?
Panda, you've never had Panda Express?
I mean, I think I've...
Orange chicken with the fortune cookies?
No.
If you don't get a fortune cookie, your meal's free?
You've never heard of that?
If you don't get a fortune cookie, your meal's free?
Yeah, or no, if they don't give you a receipt, that's what it is.
If they don't give you a receipt, they always say your meal's free, if we don't give you a receipt.
Oh, okay.
I don't know why I'm like not.
familiar with this because it's not like they don't have it in Canada. I know they do. I just don't know
if I've ever given it a shot because the signage really throws me off. Like it looks like a place that
you shouldn't eat at. It's good? Yeah, it's very good. They have a lot of them in airports.
So that's kind of why I eat there a lot. But it's my favorite. Okay, well, good to know.
Panda Express. I'm like, I can always get down with McDonald's. I don't know about Panda Express.

person you DM'd or the last
do you want to do deal breakers
let's do deal breakers
Which of the following would be relationship deal breakers for you and Kelly.
Excuse me.
You got some panic express in your lungs?
Yeah, you know what?
I just got some old panic express in the lungs trying to throw it back out.
You know when that happens.
Yeah, you know, relatable.
Okay.
She leaves mean comments on celebrities' Instagram photos.
100%.
I don't get people that want to take the energy out of their beautiful life to go spread negativity.
Right?
I'll drink to that, Peter.
I will drink to that.
He's too short.
Enjoy it.
I've done it once and...
You have who?
I was like, first of all, this was like 12 years ago and I tweeted Kim Kardashian and said I'd rather
chew glass than be friends with her.
Oh, Jesus.
Okay.
That's pretty brutal.
I also didn't mean it.
I was just like, that's a funny saying.
Which celebrity can I tweet it at who will never see this?
And now I'm like, you asshole little troll, Caitlin.
That's hilarious.
I just saw.
I just saw a quick, the Kardashians episode with our fight they got into, that cat fight.
That was brutal.
Do you think that's real?
Or do you think that's...
Did you see the cuts on our back?
They have a great makeup team.
I mean, maybe.
Okay.
I don't know.
I don't trust anything I see on TV anymore.
I watched that and I was like, well, that's set up because they're like, there needs some ratings.
I don't know.
If it was real, that was intense.
Like, damn.
If it was real, I could never imagine fighting my sister like this.
I mean, I've wanted to, but I can never imagine going through with it.
Okay, she doesn't know the difference between your Y-O-U-R and your Y-O-R-R-U-E.
Just when I think you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this.
And totally redeem yourself!
That's not a deal breaker.
I don't get people that are so anal about that.
I personally, I like to do it properly.
but yeah it's just i know people that go crazy that people have like their hats it's like it's spelled
this yeah whoa okay yeah people are very passionate about the grammar out there right yeah that's like
the number go-to word though you know i know i don't know how people don't get it it i'm kind of
the same way as you where i'm like i'm not going to freak out about it but like how do you not get it
right right um okay she strongly dislikes dogs huge deal breaker yeah yeah i've had a dog my entire
life my best friend trippy yeah huge deal breaker yeah me too okay um she hates flying
that's huge deal breaker that's that's just not gonna happen at all that's like my go too
passion but i mean no that's a deal breaker yeah yeah it's your passion that's i was gonna see maybe
i could like take her up and like teach her out of fly and i could get her over her fear but no
that's that's a deal breaker yeah that's that's a tough one um okay she has an inspirational quote
in her email signature
Um, no, that's cute.
I like that.
It's not a deal breaker.
Oh, okay, okay.
She accidentally calls you her brother's name in an intimate situation.
Huge deal breaker.
I don't know if I could ever forget that.
And if I did, then she could never forget it because I'd give her so much shit for it every time.
And I'd like repeat it to her.
Oh, I have a good one for you.
Is it a deal breaker?
She wears the same perfume as your mom.
And this isn't just a question to you.
I ask this to a lot of people.
Yeah, I guess that I've never thought about.
that but yeah that is a deal breaker key that'd be weird jason picked out my perfume like when we first
met he was like like trying to do that cute boyfriend thing and got me perfume and didn't realize
it till later in life he was telling his mom what perfume he got me and she goes that's my perfume
and he was like oh oh no that would be mortifying what the hell that's so i don't know if that was
like a comforting smell it wasn't on purpose though no no yeah okay which is even weirder hey it was
probably a really good smell of it. I couldn't do that on purpose. Yeah. That's a good story.
Okay. And last one, she's a horrible tipper at restaurants. Huge jailbreaker. Yeah.
You got to take care of people that take care of you always. I agree. That's, I mean, that's, I mean, in quarantine, we're all sitting here, you know, it's so hard for so many people. You're one of those people that's an essential job. Are you still flying?
I am. Yeah. We're definitely kind of limited with flying. A lot of my flights have gotten canceled.
When I'm on a trip, it's where I'm getting rerouted left and right because just it's, it's really sad.
Like I have, I fly at 737.
It has like 180 seats and I'm getting like 10 people on each flight.
And that must be like, is flying completely different now?
Like, do you have to like wear masks and do certain things?
Or it's every like, it must be just wild to be in that experience through this time of air.
That's like the number one place people don't want to be.
Yeah, but I'll actually say, I've been telling people this.
I actually feel like it should be the number one place you almost want to be because there's literally nobody in the airports.
There's nobody on the airplanes.
it's it's scary it's weird but yeah i still like i always bring my lysol stuff and i wipe down
the cockpit i had my mask not when i'm flying but just walking through the airport but they're
like ghost towns and sad yeah it is sad i want i just don't know how i mean nobody knows how long it's

first person I've played this with of all podcasts.
It's a new one.
So it's called Loaded Questions.
I saw it played on the Jimmy Fallon show.
Jimmy Fallon and Chrissy Teigen played it.
They both didn't know what the questions were.
So the show, the show's writers wrote the questions, put them on a table, and it's a drinking game.
So they both don't know the questions.
But they have to answer without saying the question out loud.
So for me personally, my girlfriend Bailey did this, and she didn't tell me the questions.
She emailed it to my podcast producer, who I asked to email me in the middle of our podcast so that we both don't know the questions.
Oh, okay.
So it's probably in your email.
Are you in front of a computer right now?
Well, yeah, mom, I can be, or I'm on a laptop.
Do you have your phone in front of you?
Yeah.
Actually, let me just go my phone.
Yeah.
Hold on.
So I won't know what your question is.
I will just get your answer.
So you'll just answer it.
And then if you get to tell me the question, then I drink.
If you won't tell me the question, you have to drink.
Okay.
So you have the questions in front of you.
I have mine.
But don't scroll down until you just see the first question.
First question.
Okay.
So you read it to yourself and then give me your answer.
And then I'm going to have to, oh, no.
And then I'm going to have to tell you the question or I take a drink.
Tell me, tell me, what is your choice of like, do you have some hard alcohol or something around you?
Yeah.
All right.
I got my shot glass.
Okay.
And I got my bourbon.
Wait, I'm going to grab my bourbon.
Hell yeah.
Okay, I got my bourbon.
Look at that.
Are these the goldins?
Oh, yeah.
They're going crazy.
We're playing the game right now called Loaded Questions.
Remember I showed you?
Hey, what's up, my man?
What's doing over there?
I'm good, bro.
How you doing?
Staying healthy?
staying safe. I'm trying, man.
Yeah. Crazy time. He's quarantined
with Kelly. Oh, wow.
Kelly, you should come play too.
Yeah, why do we get Kelly to play?
Kelly, get the game here. Get in the game.
Come on, Kelly.
I mean, the questions aren't going to really, well, maybe they could apply to her, but.
So is that, she, hey, Kelly, what's going on?
How are you?
Good, hurry you.
Oh, my gosh, this is so exciting.
Jason, do you remember when we just, like, re-ran into her in Miami?
Yeah, that was hilarious.
So freaking random.
That was so funny when we ran into it.
And your face was like, uh-oh.
I was like, oh my God.
Well, and the funny, I mean, I don't know if you got into it or not,
but the funny thing was like, you two started,
you were just, it was just a hello.
It was nothing more than that.
But after the hello, I was like, dude, the opt,
like I know, I've been in this world now for two years
and the optics are insane.
Everyone's going to be watching.
You talked to Kelly and I pulled you out.
I know.
You, me and Blake and Jack and we just like got out of there.
Yeah.
that's so funny okay so Kelly obviously doesn't know how the game works and it's a little bit confusing but you know what I got the questions okay so I need to go get a shot glass first you can we can share yeah oh no you guys could share because you're cute like that okay um okay so read your question but not out loud okay you both can read it but don't read out loud now just give me your answer okay this is this is that this is really tough for me right now um perfect okay okay
I would take a shot on the phone.
Yeah, I have to.
But you still have to say the answer.
If you say the answer, just not, no one will know the question.
Oh.
And if you want to say the question, then you don't have to take a shot.
The answer is Ashley P.
Ashley P.
And then you don't have to take the shot, though, right?
Well, unless you want to tell me the question.
Oh, okay.
If I want to tell you the question, I have to take the shot.
No, then you don't have to take the shot.
Okay.
I'll say the question.
Okay.
So my question was, who is the word?
kisser from your season.
Ah!
Oh, yes!
It was the cow that first night, man.
Oh, damn it's the cow.
Oh, I was like, who is this?
Damn it.
Did you see my face?
I was like, Ashley Pee.
I'm like, that we can't go actually say that.
Like, that's so mean.
I was thinking, I'm like, oh, my God, this is going to get bad.
I always say who the worst kisser was on my season.
You don't know who it was?
It was Tanner.
You're not afraid of it.
No.
I've said it before.
on the record.
Yeah, because we were too good of friends.
Okay, mine is
Shay Mitchell.
And I have to get the question.
You don't have to.
You can guess if you want.
I just have to take a shot if I don't say the question.
Mine is Shay Mitchell.
Oh.
I want to get the game now.
Okay, cool.
I hate saying this, but it was the truth.
Kathy Lee.
Oh.
What could those mean?
Shea.
Missal is from Pretty Little Liars, right?
Yeah.
Kathy Lee Gifford?
Yeah.
Okay.
So.
Do you want to put that out there or not?
I'll put it out there.
Jason, I know her.
I'm like, I don't want it.
Kelly's like, I know her.
I don't actually think this is.
I know, what's going on?
I don't actually.
Oh, you knew? So you have to say it now.
Oh, yeah.
We have to agree to put it out there.
You don't want to?
Then you have to take a shot.
I'll take a shot.
Okay.
Oh.
Are you guys friends?
You and Kathy Lee friends?
We grew up in this.
I'm really good friends with her son.
We grew up in the same place in Florida.
All right.
We'll take your shot.
Okay.
I need to know that answer later, though.

Okay, read your next question.
Next question.
Don't we don't allow them.
Okay.
I mean, that's not bad.
Like every other day, I would say.
And I would say...
Well, it depends. It depends.
Like...
I'm every day.
I hope this is about masturbating.
That totally sounds like that.
There's a geese over there.
Oh, God.
Okay.
Kelly's every other day
but happy with every day? Is that what you said?
No, it can be.
It could be every day or every other day.
Does it change if you're dating someone?
I can't.
Are you going to take a shot or give the question up?
I'll give the question.
How often do you shower?
Oh, how often do you shower?
This is what could be complicated
because, you know, girls sometimes just wash their body
and not their hair.
Is that considered a shower? Is it not?
Okay, that's fair.
This was way more fun when I thought we were talking about
masturbating. I know. That's why that's why I brought
the relationship. Don't justify
it. Yeah. It'll be like a week
and I'm like, hey, please.
Okay. Okay. And then no
and vice versa. Kayland's like, are you taking
another like shower today?
You took another bath. You over shower. Yeah, I overshadow.
Okay, here's our next question. Oh, right here.
You guys have to tell
one question. Better the office.
Mine would also
be the bed or the office.
Yeah, I'll tell.
I feel like this is getting dirty.
This is...
You guys can guess.
I feel like they want to lead us on to like it's something sexual,
but really it's where do you like spend most of your time on the phone?
Yeah.
Or not even...
Man, the guy...
Okay, you're good.
You're good.
Okay.
He's good.
Wait, that means we don't have to take a shot.
Okay.
Okay, read your next question.
I feel like we should take a shot because we lost.
No, no, no, no.
That's not the game.
Okay.
Read your next question.
I'm going to take a shot, though.
Okay.
Me too.
Okay.
Or do that.
Cheers.
Okay.
Cheers.
I feel like we're back in freaking Miami.
Right?
Chain smokers.
Me included.
Okay.
Next.
Oh, we can't read our next one.
Okay.
You scroll down, but remember to not read too far ahead.
You just scroll down to your next question.
Yep.
All right.
Yeah, this is for sure a shot.
Chicago.
Chicago.
Chicago.
Chicago.
Ha, ha.
I know what that is.
Last time you got laid.
No, not that.
Oh.
Okay.
You're going to take a shot.
You're not going to tell us?
We're, we're, uh, I'm taking a shot.
Yeah, you can take a shot.
Kelly's like, nope, rip it down.
Rip it down and shut up.
Okay.
It's like our relationship.
Yeah, seriously.
Oh.
Okay.
Here's our next question.
I mean, I have to say you.
Yeah.
You don't have an option.
Mine is Jason.
You can be honest.
Mine is Caitlin.
No, you don't have to lie.
Yeah.
It was a celebrity or something.
No, no, no, no.
Your's was Shakira.
No.
Mine was Caitlin.
Okay, mine's Jason.
Okay.
Wait, guess what the question is?
I think of the question.
Well, it was more for single, Peter, when I thought he was single.
Okay.
I am.
Okay, anyway.
We're single.
Yeah, we are single.
I mean, yeah, well, I know, okay, but Peter admitted he has a crush on you.
So I know you're not dating, but you guys have a crush on each other.
You make me blush right now.
Jesus.
So embarrassing.
Don't like a blush.
I know.
That was too easy of a question, though.
I'm going to answer it.
I'm just going to say the question.
It was the last time you had a sex dream about someone.
But to be fair, I actually did have a sex dream about Jason last night.
You told me.
Yeah.
And usually in my dreams, he is such an asshole.
And he's like mean to me because he never is only in my dream.
dreams because I'm a psychopath. And, and I woke up and I was like, guess what? I had a sexy
time dream about us. And he was like, wow, that's so great. Every time I wait, like she'll wake up
and she'd be like, oh, you were such an asshole last night. I was like, no, I was. What are you talking
about? Yeah. She's a no, in my dreams. And she has these like bad dreams. I'm like, what the
hell? Kelly, do you ever have dreams where like that? Yeah, we're like, they're mean to you and you
wake up mad at them. I've had that before. Yeah, it happens. So you had to with Shakira last night.
That's his celebrity crush ever since the Super Bowl.
So I'm like...
That was a hot dance.
That was a hot dance.
I mean, I was...
I mean, I was...
It was unbelievable.
Start to finish everything about J-Lo and Shakira just running the whole world on that show.
Like, it was great.
I, too, was attracted to...
It was amazing.
It was great.
Okay, next question.
You guys.
I too was attracted.
I thought you were going to say Ellen DeGeneres, honestly.
Oh, yeah.
Ooh.
Dustin.
Kelsey
and McKenna
it's yeah
one
probably Kelsey
okay
I'm gonna guess
I'm gonna guess
Gelsing is it last person
you FaceTime
no I'm gonna say
who are you closest
within the franchise
or from your season
yeah dang
oh
okay ready
this is the last question
we have to answer
okay
this one is about
I would say
69 minutes
okay
and I would say about three minutes.
Oh, no.
That's a lie.
That's a lie.
I say 30 minutes.
30 minutes.
Yeah.
Does this have to do with stamina at all or no?
Take a guess.
Yes, it does, actually.
It does.
Obviously, you guys are thinking it's how long we have sex.
Right.
Yeah.
Well, I'm going to drink instead of tell you the question.
69 minutes.
It's a great time.
Why did you go with 69?
Why not?
I love that we're just shooting bourbon right now.
I'm going to start playing this more often.
You know what we should have done, Peter?
I should have started the podcast with this.
And then doven to everything.
I know, God, that would have been freaking epic.
Okay, well, I don't want to, like, keep you now that we're doing this.
But, Jason, do you have any questions for Peter to wrap up the podcast?
Well, so I didn't see.
anything.
Okay, I know what you can ask what your question was.
So one question I asked Kate when she was preparing for this was like, so I knew that
you were a pilot before and you have talked about doing conferences as a potential pilot
and empowering those that are afraid to fly.
But then on your Instagram, I also saw potentially DJing and stuff.
So one thing obviously I'm interested in like career past, like what's next for you?
What do you think it looks like in a couple of years from now?
Like what do you actually want out of all this that you now have?
Yeah.
That's an awesome question.
I so I'm always going to stay flying that's not changing and I'm very very blessed with my schedule that I have you know over half the month off just by doing my full time job but I do want to start kind of you I would ideally love to you know kind of get into you know partnering with some flight schools and just really getting people really encouraged to flying you know there's a huge shortage of women in aviation right now and that'd be cool to kind of partner up with some program either there's an actual you know organization called women in aviation um and just in
encourage them to get into flying. That'd be great. I would love to, honestly, love, yeah,
to get into DJing. That's always been a passion of mine. And I just actually got, I got all the
software and everything in my laptop all taken care of. So got all this stuff. I'm going to see what I
can do and whip up. You know, DJing is could be a monstri-you know, there's going to be
hate people, chirp you and everything else. It could be a monstrosity of a career if you could do
it right, right?
Let me tell you something.
Blake Horstman came on my Off the Vine podcast tour as a fake DJ and we taught him a few
things just to be able to like work the crowd and he is crushing it now.
And I think if you just have like the right hype and energy and like a good, you know,
obviously if you like know music and what you want to play, you could do it.
It's it's just about attracting a good hype crowd and, and, and,
I know that I know for sure like I always say like I know I have it in me like to I just have
to find a way to take it out and like I have to learn a lot of stuff obviously about you know
with music and producing and whatnot but I definitely feel like I could have a future in that so
I'm excited two totally different paths but you know what this is the time to swing so swing away
and ignore the noise that's my that's my that's great swing away and avoid the noise is good
ignore the noise yeah someone said I did that so I'm doing these interviews on like career paths
and someone said there's this 33 year old who's won an Emmy and he's a sports play by
played broadcaster for the Yankees.
He goes, anytime someone even let the door crack open, I would go in there full speed
and knock that the shit down with that door and just crush it.
So you know what?
You got a little opening?
Go take advantage of it.
Can we ask that question to both Kelly and Dustin?
Yeah.
Yeah, Kelly and Dustin.
Let's start with Kelly.
Kelly, you're an attorney.
Like, I mean, obviously, you know, I was a corporate banker.
So I lived, I had this issue, too, of managing a very conservative world.
in another world that's, you know, ripping shots on a podcast getting hammed up.
So it's a tough balance.
And I'm curious, what are you going to do?
To be honest, I really haven't thought much of it.
Like, I go to work and my siblings are kind of on me to start working a little bit harder like I used to.
But, you know, there's definitely things in my life that are changing.
And I'm trying to talk to them because I am the youngest of six and five of my siblings work at the firm with my dad.
So they kind of told me if you want to go off and do something for a couple of years,
years like you always have a job back here that you could come back to so you know you have this
opportunity to do something fun and exciting for a couple of years and if you want to take advantage
of that go ahead if you don't if you want to work here go ahead um so right now I have options I haven't
really thought about it though so well you don't need to yet that's the beauty too you know like
this this platform that we're given or certain things that we go through it allows us to
think about what we love to do rather than what we have to do and I mean you
Peter, I think you both just like, you know, you love what you do, but you also want to chase a passion in life and see what else you can do that could actually fulfill like your soul and who you are.
So it's cool that you like can get, I mean, no matter if you go on the bachelor, if you don't, or if you, whoever you are, you should always do that.
I think it's just this gives you a little bit of opportunity to do those things.
So I always root people on for doing what they want rather than what they think they should be doing.
So you guys go after it.
My last question is now that I know you, I know you two are not dating, but what is the plan for you guys moving forward to, to continue to, like, build that foundation that you have already?
Can I say one word?
Yes.
I don't think I would start with day by day.
Why?
I only say that.
Oh, is that what he always?
That's the exact words he said with Maddie.
Oh.
I don't say day by day.
But it literally was.
But that's life.
Life is day by day.
right now. I'm totally just busting jacks. I'm totally. I don't either one of us are in a rush. Like,
hey, we just came out of this situation that was a little bit crazy. Um, you know, I came out
and mentally I was just like a little off in terms of how I usually am. And really he's like
in the same place. And it's just like, I don't know, we're hanging out. We're having fun.
Like, why stress about it? You know, we enjoy hanging out with each other. There's no pressure
to do anything to make a title. Like, what is that? What difference does that make? You know,
when you put a title on something versus not like it just doesn't matter we're having fun and
we enjoy each other's company and as of now who knows what will happen but and then that that way
you don't set up for like you know you you don't set other people up to be disappointed you're not
like teasing it you're literally just laying it out there that like hey this is this it would be easy
for you guys to be like yeah we are dating you know but you're honest and you you're just hanging
out right now seeing what will happen you enjoy each other's company i am a big fan of not
labeling anything like especially coming off the show it's like you're supposed to be engaged
you're supposed to be this and then even if you date after the show jason and i and i have been
together for a year and a half and everyone's like why are you not engaged it's like you watch
the show thinking that's what's supposed to happen so everyone's sitting here being like you have
to date because you're hanging out but it's totally fine and acceptable to just be enjoying each
other's company and if you can quarantine together i mean i would say date but again it's up to you
Yeah. The only thing I'd add to it, too, is, like, just relating it back to our situation, right?
It's like, Caitlin was only, you know, however long they broke, you and Sean broke up.
And then you think about, you know, the time of actually break up to announcement stuff.
And there's still a period.
But you get all these people coming in and they have opinions and they want to give you feedback criticism.
And I think one of the things, if I looked back on that I would have done differently is I felt as though,
Caitlin, like, when we went on our first date, I felt as though, like, I owed it to everyone because everyone was
so interesting what was happening that had to like document it and put it out there and i think
looking back on it that was just stupid but i think it was just a result of like the pressure that was
put on us to do it um so i you know you know whatever it is what it is but just like i very
much respect the fact you're like i i really don't care about what everyone else is saying to me
and the influence that people want to hear from us and they want to hear stating because i think
we a little bit conform to that and looking back on it i wouldn't have done that no i
I can probably see that.
That's some good advice there.
Yeah.
And we obviously, you guys know, we're here for you.
And like I say, I, you know, I can interview Hannah Ann or I can interview you or I can
interview people that I don't want to interview.
I always want everybody to have a voice because you're not given one on the show as much as
you need to have one.
And I've been in the position.
We all have.
I've been on both sides of it where it's fucking hell at times.
And I just want to obviously be a supportive platform for you to have to say what you
want to say.
So anytime you guys want to come on.
or Kelly, if you just want to come on, like, no pressure and just this is supposed to be a fun
thing.
I know we have to dive into some of the annoying shit that everybody wants to hear, but I always
want this to be like a safe place.
Oh, this is good, good, because all of my listeners, like, I swear I would be friends with
them all in real life because they can say shit or like, I know they talked shit about
Colton too.
And then after he came on my podcast and was able to have his own voice, everyone's like,
oh, it's nice to hear their side of the story or just hear a simple thing about
how they're feeling and what they've been through.
And then, you know, people, people forgive and not everybody forgets, but people
forgive.
Right.
Yeah.
So thank you so much for taking the time and being on the podcast.
Thank you, Kelly, for jumping in.
I don't know if you heard this, but when Peter first jumped on, I didn't know what he
was going to say about you two or like, even if that you guys were friends.
And he comes on and it says Kelly on the screen, like it's your Zoom.
I was like, uh, okay, hey, Peter.
And then I'm like this whole podcast
Just being like, what's you going to say when I ask about Kelly?
Because he's literally on her Zoom link.
Literally on her laptop, inner apartment, on her Zoom.
Yeah, it was hilarious.
Is there anything else, Peter, that you want to say
just to wrap up the podcast or anything you want people to know
or anything you want,
and you want to just take away from this podcast?
I guess, I don't know.
I just, you know, obviously I've learned an incredible amount about myself
throughout this entire experience.
It's been nice to kind of finally be able to address things
with the press since it's been a little bit since the show ended you know i i hope people you know
can you know watching my story and my journey can still pull a lot of positives from it and um
if they can this you know it will still have been a success for me i'm still grateful for the opportunity
and um yeah just very thankful for it all in regards like this whole you know pandemic thing
going on right now i do hope that just even not really from the show or the podcast that just
everyone really like once this stuff does clear up because i
know I'm feeling it like get excited for what's to come and like kind of like our new life
almost and like almost like a rebirth in a way and don't take anything for granted and just go
out there and do whatever the hell you want to do and freaking achieve it and just make the most
of it and I think a lot of us are like getting to that point where you're just really because I know
I am and so I would encourage everyone else to to go on that path. I agree. I agree. I think it's such a
cool thing that I mean not a cool thing right now but the chance that we get the opportunity to
take a step back, think about what we love to do, not about what we have to do,
and be able to just kind of like write out our thoughts or reconnect with other people
and think about what's important so that when this is all over,
we enter the world with new eyes and be able to be like,
holy shit, like life is so fragile and let's come together instead of being a bunch of
assholes to each other, okay?
Don't be commenting on Kim Kardashian's pictures anymore, okay?
Hey, it was 12 years ago.
Thank you guys so much
and good luck to everybody
and everything that you guys are doing
and let's just like
actually have a FaceTime drinking date
where it's not recorded.
Cheers to that.
Thanks you guys.
