Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story.
Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge,
there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice.
And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am.
It's not just any audiobook.
This is a full cast performance.
So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry,
brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads sing is Mr. Darcy.
And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything.
Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix.
Talk about a dream cast.
Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics,
and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy.
And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels
so fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.
So whether it's your first time experiencing Pride and Prejudice or you've read it a million times, you're going to fall absolutely in love all over again.
So go listen to Pride and Prejudice now at audible.ca slash Jane Austen.

rachel bilsen p s ditchy date nick vile we'll find out hi how are you i'm good i'm so happy to meet you
oh my gosh kate right before i was going to do this i was explaining to my boyfriend who
has never watched the oc i'm like it's everybody's
girl crush like okay my dogs are going crazy still to this day and he's like no and then I showed
him a picture and he was like oh yeah yeah oh that's so sweet so I'm like just so I'm a huge fan
of yours you're like my favorite bachelor's all time oh no I'm like obsessed and I was like
nervous stop it oh my gosh that I'm like blushing right now it's really hot in this house
but I'm also blushing um I'm like stuck in New Mexico and I like put on this hat and
I'm like, how hard am I trying to be New Mexico right now?
No, it's definitely, it's definitely fitting.
But no, seriously, you're just like, you were so real from the gecko and funny.
And I was just, I remember your first season.
You guys were, I don't know, were you in Thailand or something.
You were somewhere like super, like Bali.
Bali, Indonesian, right?
Yes.
And like, the camera went on you and you were like, oh, shoot.
And like, how you said it, I was like, I'm in love with her.
Like, I was like, hands down, okay, she has to be a bachelorette.
Like, this is not, I mean, it still sticks out.
That, oh, shoot, moment.
I still say that to this day.
And I forgot I had said that.
And I think I was showing Jason my, when I got dumped in Bali.
And I forgot I said that because we were laughing about it.
And I was like, oh, shoot.
And he's like, you still say that all the time.
And I'm like, that is something that I say.
No, it's.
Oh, shoot.
Yeah, I just so cute.
Yeah, I've just been in love you ever since.
And I'm just like.
Well, thank you.
Because the feeling is.
definitely mutual. I was in love with you
before you knew who I was. So it's... Oh, my God. Did you watch
the O-C? Oh, yeah. I mean, Jason said he didn't. I'm like, who didn't watch
that show? It was like, I still want to go back and re-watch.
You know what I actually found out? Because I was on Dancing with the Stars and
Ardum was actually on one of the episodes.
What? Yes. Are you serious? And wasn't he Misha's
partner on Dancing with the Stars? Yes.
Wasn't he? You won Dancing with the Stars.
Yes.
congratulations thank you so much fun it was also very hard but so fun i'm sure it was so hard
artem was on one of the episodes he like what did he do he was like grinding with um who's your
co-star right now for the podcast at melinda car yes he was like really yes and he was like dancing with
her at the club and it was so funny because i had no idea and we have to find that interview yeah
oh i'll send you the yes i'll send you the clip and we'll probably use it to to promo this because it was so
funny that is hilarious oh my god no we have to find that there's so many people that were on the show
that you kind of had no idea or like they weren't really working as much at the time and then
you look back and you're like holy shit like that's kind of crazy yeah that's what I was thinking
because then I started going down a rabbit hole of who else has been on just in like little clips
here and there and for some reason they have had a few dancers and it was just fascinating because
when I watched that clip I was like oh that's artem's like mortified because he's like grinding and
it was really funny.
Okay, and that's what you're here to talk to me about today is you have a new podcast.
Yeah.
When is it coming out?
I think the goal is beginning of April and we're announcing at the end of this month,
but I mean, it is what it is, you know?
Yeah.
Tell me the name of it because it's so good.
Yeah, we're going to do a rewatch podcast.
So we're going to go back, Melinda Clark can play Julie Cooper on the show.
Yes, I call it myself.
And it's called Welcome to the OC bitches.
It's amazing.
There's a line, welcome to the OC bitch from the pilot.
But anyway, let's be on that.
That's so fun.
I love the idea of rewatching.
I've often thought about doing the same thing.
But then I'm like, you know what?
I probably don't want to go back and revisit some of those things because it wasn't acting.
And it might get a little awkward.
But I love that because who is it from the Hills?
Whitney.
Whitney.
Okay.
Does she have a rewatch podcast?
She does Instagram or YouTube videos where she goes back and watches.
episodes of the hills and her and her husband do like watch it. It's so funny to watch them. So that's such
a good idea. That's really cute. It's really cute. So who's going to be like guests on it? Are you
going to have guests? Yes. We're going to have guests. We're going to get people from the cast and
behind the camera and other people that just want to talk about it. Any like fans or celebrity fans,
whoever's excited to talk about it. Definitely the cast we have a lot of people already.
allotted to come on. So that'll be fun. Just to like go through the memories. It was so long ago that
I actually don't remember anything. Have you rewatched it yet? I'm just starting to. I don't even know
if I ever watched it when it was on. So I'm watching it now and I'm like, oh my God. First of all,
2003 fashion, everything, you're just like, it's horrifying. But it's also, it's also kind of funny and
juicy suits, which were a big part of the show are making a comeback. So I feel like the timing is
accurate yeah yeah it's pretty it's pretty fun you know and yeah like I said they'll be
trivia questions or whatever and I'll never know an answer even about my own character I'll be like
what it is funny how much you forget I mean that was such a huge part of your life so people
probably think you just remember everything but even for me thinking back six years ago to being
on the show on bachelor stuff I blacked out so much and it's not like I don't go back and
watching it wasn't all documented and I have a journal but I stopped journaling
at some point. And I haven't really gone back into that space because some of it was a little
traumatic for me and some was really beautiful. So I'm like, six years later, I'm like, oh, I don't
even remember certain things that happened. So 2003 seems like such a long time ago. Yeah.
We're going to watch some bad. Do you have, okay, some, I know some actors can't watch back
themselves on screen. Do you have a hard time with that? Or are you like, I was really cute and
that was really good? I don't think that's my reaction. But, you know, like I can like some
stuff. It's kind of just like whatever. It's not really here nor there. I guess I don't take myself
too seriously, which helps in some ways. That would definitely help is not taking yourself too
seriously. But and also you're, I just find it so interesting because you, I always wish I could
act. I'm the worst ever. Like, I get so awkward. I like don't know what to do with my hands.
No, I bet you could do it. No, I would actually love to go take like some sort of, I did theater girl.
up so I'm okay with theater kind of things yeah but for some reason like what even just like
in an instagram ad i get awkward because i feel like i have to like read certain lines and i'm
like this isn't me i don't know it's but you make it you i feel like because you're so endearing in
that way like you're just always you and that it'll just you know carry over you can do it you can
i mean you've been doing it since what you were six years old no no i you know the oce was one i'm 21 so i mean
Is that when you first started acting?
Kind of, like, dabbled a bit as a kid, but not much.
And, like, that was my first real show.
Yeah.
I had done commercials and stuff like that, but that was my first show.
And 21, I mean, that still feels so young, you know.
That's such a fragile time, I feel like, to get thrown into the world of,
and such a big show on such a, like, huge network.
And it probably just happened so fast.
Was that, do you feel like that was such a pivotal point in your life,
just as a human being because I feel like it would probably push you to be more mature than most 21-year-olds.
And because I think back when I was 21 and I'm like, I always call myself a degenerate.
I was just such a loser when I was 21.
I was like, you know, working at a restaurant like just partying all the time.
But you're kind of put into the situation where you have to be, you know, like present and on every day and acting and people are watching you and all eyes are on you.
So did it force you to kind of grow up fast?
or do you feel like you still got to live that 21-year-old life?
I think, you know, I'm from L.A.
And I grew up here.
So I kind of feel like I grew up a little faster, but a little before that.
So once I got to that place, I had already gone to the clubs, like, done the stuff, you know, which was how goes, you know, as like a young teen, no.
But, yeah, you know, it was definitely pivotal in the sense that, like, it felt like overnight, you know, you were on, like, some successful TV show.
Right.
as you know, it's very surreal.
Like, all of a sudden people are like, oh, my God.
And you're like, wait, why?
Like, I'm just eating a cheeseburger.
You know?
So it's definitely surreal in that way.
But I was surrounded by a lot of good people, which I was fortunate, you know?
That's so important and so nice because I think that's when I started going on the show when I was 29.
And I feel like it's the one reason that I stayed grounded and was able to like navigate
such a crazy time was because of the people that I was surrounded with and because of my like
supportive friends and family who yeah nobody treated me differently and everyone was really there for
me for support and just kept me grounded and that is that's really important and your nice
canadian family i i spent the better part of a decade in canada so i'm very familiar
did you really for for acting no my my ex is in canada oh really um yeah and so i spent a lot yeah it was
I saw your Instagram, you were talking about Smarties, and I was like, yeah, they're like
basically your M&Ms, you know, like you're plain chocolate Eminem.
And you guys call Smarties, we call them Rockets, those like little chalky, those cats.
Rockets are our Smarties.
Yep, exactly.
That's so funny.
I know.
What did you love about Canada?
Tim Horton.
You did?
Of course.
I love to me.
That's so funny because I feel like people say it just like if you don't, if you aren't
from Canada and you go and taste Timmy's, you're like, it tastes like burnt coffee.
Like, what's the big deal?
Fresh every morning my ass.
Everyone's like, it tastes a burnt.
It's so good.
It's so good.
I mean, I'm a double single, not a double double, because, like, that's a lot of sugar.
But I am a big fan of Timmy's and my daughter loves Timbitts.
I mean, we're very, very well integrated into the Canadian culture.
That's amazing.
Oh, my gosh, because sometimes we do Canadian trivia to people who have been to Canada or think they know.
And we always ask, like, what's a looney or a tunny?
And then we always say, do you know what a double double is?
And people are like, like, what?
That's what they think is a cheeseburger.
Of course. That's what it is here.
Now back to Off the Vine with Caitlin Bristow.
Your daughter is adorable.
What have you ladies been up to in quarantine?
Oh my God.
Well, she started kindergarten this year.
Amazing.
Yes, amazing.
But also I didn't realize like I had to be a kindergarten teacher, which is so hard, especially
that age.
They've just sit in front of the computer and do all this work and everything and you have to be like,
I have to focus, pay attention. It's just not, parents aren't really good help for that, I feel like. And teachers are incredible and the patients they have and everything else. Yeah. But yeah, she's been home and she's about to go back to school, though. I think we're going to try it this week. Oh, good. I was going to ask, because when you said she went to kindergarten this year, I thought you meant like she actually went, but you had to take on that role of now becoming a kindergarten teacher. And how to be in the living room? Like, how do you keep a child at,
She's six, right? That's what you said? Yeah, she said. Six focused and, like, tuned in at that age in front of a screen that's already distracting to, like have a screen in front of you. And there's a lot going on. And part of, you know, part of from what I understand from friends and my sister having kids is the social aspect of putting your kids in school and going to kindergarten. It's just so good for them socially to be around other kids. And so it's, did they still get to experience that on the Zoom? Or was it very much just like a teacher? Right. At first,
At first, it was really hard, like a hard transition, and she just didn't want any part of it.
But now she's super used to it.
They talked to each other over the computer.
It was just time.
Kids are very resilient, you know?
Yes.
They kind of just are adaptable.
And she adapted pretty well.
And now I'm kind of freaking out because she actually goes to school.
I'm like, what am I going to do with my day?
I'm like so nervous and anxious about it.
But that's where she should be.
She needs to be with other kids.
Right.
You know, especially at that age.
That's like a big part.
of their learning yeah oh my gosh yeah that's so i just can't even imagine i always bow down to moms that
have have kids in quarantine and and doing that for i mean it's been a full year i saw the funniest
meme it said like how dare marks just show up like this again because it feels like it was
it's so long but also like it felt long and short at the same time yeah and also we're back yeah
do anything you were home a lot of the time so in that sense it flies by and you're like holy
shit it's been a year i know it's been such a roller coaster
for so many people mentally in so many ways. What did you do? What do you do for self-care?
What did you do to stay sane during the last year? Oh, God. That's a good question. It was hard.
Even for, you know, me, normally I have a pretty good attitude in general. But it was hard.
You don't, especially with my kid, I guess that kind of helped keep me present because it was all about her.
I didn't really have time to, for myself to be like, oh, I'm really going through this and feeling this.
So it just forced me to focus on her, which was helpful, but also challenging.
Yeah, so many people have had such a hard time this year.
And now that we kind of see a light at the end of the tunnel with the vaccinations and everything else,
it's just like a weight slowly being lifted and feel like some sense of normalcy, which is, I think, right.
And you, you went?
Didn't you have COVID?
Yeah, I did.
Yeah, I did.
I had it, gosh, back in end of December.
which was so awful because we were trying to quarantine just for like six or seven days before we went to
see Jason's family. And we, the only reason we let one person come over to our house was because
she had been tested every single day. And so we like saw the negative test results. And then
the next day she left. She was like, my last test came back positive. And we were like, what?
And just like, we went and got tested. And yeah, we were positive. So it goes. You know, you can be
careful. You just never know. But. Oh, I know. It's, it's one of those things that like,
I like if you don't have it or you never have you don't realize just how easily it can happen because I went through the whole season of dancing right you know like getting tested every day but people people everywhere we like we weren't on full lockdown we could still go the grocery store we could still like one of my best friends would always come over and play games and stuff and I didn't realize how easily like that could have happened to anyone you know during you know are you doing any filming or something um like for anything right now are you
really focused on the podcast because i'm just yeah i know a lot of people that are in production
and they have it so locked down that you know you really feel like if everyone's really in masks
or shields or whatever i'm testing on set i feel like it's a little more controlled it feels a little
safe but i could just be naive by saying that um but i think they figured it out you know you just
never know it's it's true that's well that's what i'm about to experience because i'm oh right
I mean, I saw the filming and production and how they did it safely on dancing, but now we're back in quarantine and then we go into like full bubble where everyone, like no workers can come in and out unless they've been tested and they're masked up and like, it's so intense, but it's so great that they can still continue to do these things.
Totally.
What do you do with Jason? Does he come and like quarantine with you?
So he's here.
We brought the dogs because I could not leave the dogs for that way.
Yeah. So I was like, we're driving. So we drove from Nashville to New Mexico. That's fun, though. Was it? Yeah. It was really fun. Do you do well with road trips? Because I do on road trips. Yes. Yes. I do. I really, really like my dream is to do the RV across the country and like, you know, that's like my ideal honeymoon or something. Really. No, I totally get that. I think it's sweet because first of all, an RV would be ideal. We were just in a big like SUV. But yeah.
we we actually love road trips and we put on good podcasts or listen to music or you know we have
the dogs in there with us and it's so fun just getting to travel through even if you're just
driving through like seeing because obviously I'm Canadian so I like seeing all these different
states and like like like building and not just land for us yeah exactly I actually love it so
and have you been a Santa Fe? I haven't but I heard it's like magical it is magical yeah that's so
cool at least you get to be there.
Oh, I don't know if you can leave in a resort, but...
Oh, no.
No, leaving.
No, and we're also in the middle of nowhere,
so I keep having to run out a dirt road
and wave down my, like, postmates driver
or the grocery man,
because I'm like, it's just like down a small dirt road,
and then it's really hard to find in the dark,
and I'm like, oh, over here.
Well, at least you can still get postmates.
Well, we only learned from experience
because we ordered postmates the other night.
It took two and a half hour,
We still didn't get it.
After two and a half hours, the postmates driver was like,
we give up, which I don't blame them because the GPS actually won't take you here.
We learned.
It takes you like across the way where there's fences and they just couldn't find us.
And we were so hungry and we just thought here after like a long drive.
And so we ended up having grilled cheese and like chips.
We just have that for dinner because we're like screw it, whatever.
But every podcast I always make my guests confess.
you know it was funny because this just happened and it's probably more of like a mom thing
but my daughter like I gave her I had these keyboard elf cookies you know like chocolate filled
whatever yeah I had them for a while and I gave everyone after lunch and then I took one so I'm like
I'm going to eat a cookie yeah and I take it and I had to pee so I went to the bathroom and I'm peeing
and I bite the cookie and it's like stale I'm like I'm not I can't eat this yeah and so for some
reason instead of thinking i'm going to spit it in the trash can like well i'm just going to spit it in the
toilet because i was in the bathroom right well i hadn't flushed the toilet so i spit the cookie
out didn't realize like the weight of the cookie i spit it into the toilet and now i guess you could say
i've had a golden facial which was really super fun no like at least my mouth wasn't open but it
hit the toilet and a bunch of pee water came up like old like old falpha geyser into my face like
into my eyes it was pretty it was just a classic move on my part um spitting a cookie into your pee
and getting a golden shower that is incredible yeah i mean you know just these those little things
stuff i would be curious if other moms out there would be like me too i mean that'd be pretty
random and like who thinks like i'm not going to spit this in the trash can i'm going to spit
in the toilet that had tea in it. Luckily, I had a poo. That would have been a better confession,
but that's also, was there a garbage near? And you just decided, it was right next to the toilet.
Interesting. Yeah, there's no, yeah, there's no rhyme or reason. Did you just, like, open your
legs and go, bloop? No, I had stood up. Like, really, you know, I'm telling you, like, I stood up,
which is why the height from standing up to reaching the toilet created the splash. So, you know.
love to know your thought process during that like me too see that garbage there but you know you know
what this just looks like this just looks like more fun this looks like the place it's the long
a stale cookie in the toilet makes sense perfectly good sense um okay i have a game for you but it's
obviously based off well okay i'm going to give you an option okay do you want to play who's more
likely rachel or summer or do you want to play um rapid fire OC edition
Well, I'll fail it, but let's do rapid fire.
Okay.
Which actor was most like the character they played in real life?
Probably, I don't know, Seth.
Probably Brody.
Really?
He's the same in real life?
I mean, I would say the closest.
Like, there were similarities.
That's cool.
I like that.
Who is most likely to be late on set?
Ooh.
We're talking 16 years.
Maybe Nisha, I don't know.
I'm always late for everything.
It's something I really need to work on.
I would like to be a punctual person, but I'm just...
Yeah, I get it.
What's your favorite moment from on set that we didn't get to see, if you can remember?
Of course, I can't remember much.
We used to prank each other in the beginning, and that was fun.
Oh, I love that.
Do you remember what pranks you did?
Because I am a big prankster, and I would love to hear your thoughts.
Yeah.
We had a biology scene in high school, and they actually,
actually had dead frogs and it was my birthday and Brody managed to get one from props and wrap it
as a birthday present. So he gave me a dead frog. Yeah, that was really sweet. That was so cute.
That's funny. What was the most awkward scene that you remember having to film? Oh, gosh. I don't
remember them all. I had to dress up as Wonder Woman and that's always awkward because that's like
a lot of hair. Not much clothes. Awkward for you, great for everybody else.
what line do people most quote when they see you in person probably ew i feel like she
coin like you know it was like her catchphrase ale yeah that's funny um did you get to keep
anything from set and if so what well i have i i have acquired princess sparkle who is back on
my bookshelf there amazing summer my little pony um so yeah what else do i need that's
My daughter tried to steal it.
She did not understand why I have in my little pony and car.
Right.
You're like, no, this is like a collector's edition.
This is worth a lot of money.
That's funny.
What was your favorite thing about plain summer?
You know, I really liked how much she changed and evolved from beginning to end.
Like she kind of was like this bratty little teenager.
And then she really blossomed into a tree-hugging, you know, consciously aware person.
That's so true.
How long, I forget, how long was the show on?
Just four seasons.
Four seasons.
I'm going to go, I can't wait because when you start your podcast,
I'm going to go back and watch and listen with you because that's going to be,
it's such a good idea.
It's so fun.
That would be so fun.
What's your personal favorite TV drama from around the same time OC was on?
I don't even know what was on then.
I don't either.
Two thousand three, I feel like the OC was it.
The only, like, show I watch is like anything from The Bachelor because I don't, you know,
these days anyways they're like lay in bed and what else am i going to watch wait that's true that's when
the bachelor started i think wasn't it i didn't start it's the beginning though like i definitely
came in later but maybe you watch trista's season trista and ryan okay because i feel like she was
the first bachelor and i feel like that was in 2003 but i'm not positive that's crazy i know it's i can't
believe that like it's on to 30 some seasons now of insane it's crazy yeah it's wild
Off the Vine with Caitlin Bristow.
I have a few questions from listeners that wanted to ask you.
I'm sure you get this question all the time.
Bailey Buchanan says,
would you ever do a reboot of the OC still favorite show to this day?
Aw, that's sweet.
I mean, yeah, I'm always open to it.
I'm still good friends with the show creator.
So anything he wants to do, I'd be like, okay.
Is there ever talks about that?
because I feel like that would be incredible.
I don't know.
Not to my knowledge, but, I mean, maybe it's been tossed around a bit.
Right.
Who knows?
I don't know where you go with it.
Right.
I know.
Like, Lisa's character died.
I don't know.
Right.
It's true.
And wait, I just remembered as I was, like, thinking back on the show.
Olivia Wilde was that bartender.
Oh, yeah.
Yep.
Olivia Wilde.
We had Chris Pratt.
Chris Pratt?
Oh, yeah.
Chris Pratt was on the show?
He was with me when I went to Brown.
own university he was chay who was my oh my gosh i totally didn't even put that together oh yeah
lilia wild and chris pratt that's amazing yeah he's funny he is a funny guy he never have i laughed harder
like yeah with him oh my god he's hilarious i just like seen him in interviews and i did a golf
tournament where i had like he was there golfing yeah and i remember he was just like so
pleasant to be around and making everybody laugh and just like he seems totally down to earth too
which is great yeah i mean i haven't talked of him in a long time but but but you know mama rj a says
why the heck did heart of dixie have to end what's happening there i like that question just like
what will happen i had a baby no that's not why it ended but i did our last season i was actually
pregnant with my daughter. So the timing was kind of good for me. Did people, could you tell you were
pregnant? Or was it like you? They played it in the show. Yeah. I worked until I was very pregnant.
So it was pretty obvious. That's one show. One of my best friends, Cleo, who also works with the podcast
nation, and she is my business partner and everything. She is obsessed with that show. Like she
Yeah. So she's put it on. I have a list of shows I want to catch up on. And that's one of them because
she's like, that's sweet. She could not get enough of it. She loved it. And on that. And on that
Say note.
Oh, yeah, I hate when I can't pronounce people's names because I want to.
I know.
I'm pretty sure her name is Felicia, but she says, does she get to keep in touch with the cast from Heart of Dixie?
I do.
We actually, yeah, we have a group thing going.
We've been in contact for a while.
Everyone's just awesome.
I was really lucky with that show, too.
That's nice.
Yeah.
That's great.
So many questions about Nick.
Did she date Nick?
I'm like, no.
I never dated Nick.
I went on.
We were like toying with like, yeah, I went on his podcast and we were toying with doing like a funny like recap bachelor podcast. Yeah. So that's why we were just like messing around. Isn't it funny how people just immediately assume. I see that all the time. They're like, oh, they dated. I was like no. Like no. Nick was like super nice and like. It's so funny because it's if it's a guy and a girl that are friends or have like if they're single and they're friends and they do anything. They're automatically dating. Automatically. Yeah. Of course. Okay. And last. And last.
Last question, I mean, so many people want to know why the show had to end and if you're going to do an O.C. reboot. But let's make it happen. We'll sign a petition. Let's do it. Can we? I'll be part of that. People love you, by the way. Like, you just, all of my questions, everyone's just like, I love her so much. And she's my favorite. And yeah, people make me happy. Yeah. This person, just tell her. I love her. Erica says she loves you. That's all she wants to tell you.
too, Erica. Oh, Lori, I like this question. Lori 0509 says, what was the casting process like for the OC?
Oh my gosh. You know what's funny? I was not a series regular at first. I was, I got cast as a guest star.
So when you're a guest star, you don't have to like go through all the network. When you get a series regular on a show, you have to go to network and like audition in front of all these people from the network and stuff.
So I didn't have to do that. I was so lucky. I think I was definitely like crashed and burned.
because that's a lot of pressure.
So, yeah, I auditioned for Josh, and I made him laugh.
And so that's how I got it.
That's so fun.
Oh, that's cool.
So you started off as a guest star, but then they're like, we really like her.
So we're going to make you a main star.
Yeah, they like a main star.
A main star.
Yeah, like after eight of a percent.
Yeah, that's what they call it.
You're a main star.
And Megan Cheney wants to know what's your favorite part about being a mom?
My favorite part about being a mom?
It just, there's nothing better.
It feels like, oh, that's why I'm not.
like that has this other person you know and even like you kind of get that with dogs like you know
you're a dog parent on a small scale yes I do well it's a big scale for me because they're my world
but yes yeah they're your world and you're like oh I'm living for something else too
yes it's true I um so all of my best friends have I think two kids now all them have too
and my sister and that's that is the one main thing that they realize their purpose on this
planet like they're like oh what did i do before this because this is what i am here to do right
oh completely that's why i'm freaking out i'm like my daughter's in school every day what am i going to
do how long is school when you're in kindergarten is it like four hours 30 to two okay
yeah i mean that's a good chunk of time that is a good chunk of time but do you feel like
this is how i would feel no judgment but do you feel like that's do you like having your me time
because in anything I do in my life,
I need a few hours a day for just my me time.
Right.
I think that, you know,
because her dad and I aren't together,
so we have,
you know,
we split her time a little bit.
I get that.
And when I get that,
like I said,
I lay in bed and watch The Bachelor or like take a bath.
Like that's my me time.
Totally.
Like any opportunity to just lay in bed is my favorite thing.
Yeah.
So,
you know,
in that way,
even though it's hard,
I still,
I get that a little bit.
So it balances out.
You know,
it's so funny.
So we're obviously,
we were in Santa Fe the other day and Jason and I went to dinner this oh my gosh it's like I don't know if it's a hidden gem or if everyone knows about it but it's called Geronimo and it was the most incredible restaurant such great service the food was just stupid I had like lobster and angel hair pasta with like truffle and oh my gosh it was so good and we're sitting there and we see this woman who is probably oh gosh I don't know like late 30s maybe 40 sitting across from us and I was just so intrigued by her because she was by herself
and she was smiling like the whole time she was just smiling and I would see her take a sip of her
her martini and she would enjoy every sip and she would just eat so slow and she was so zen and
peaceful and just so happy and I'm like what is this woman's story she seemed very like she was like
I'm talking about being a vegan and I was like oh she's probably like this yoga instructor
like living her best single life and just enjoying and then I hear her having a conversation with
somebody across the table. They're like, what did you order? That looks really good. She goes,
well, I'm vegan and they'll make anything you want here. And they got to talking. And it turns out
she is a mom of two 12-year-old twins. I was going to say she has kids. Oh, twins. That's even more.
And two little boys. And she said twice a year, I get to pick a restaurant I want to come to and just
stay at a like hotel or whatever for a couple days. And she goes, so that's why I'm just enjoying
every single bite and every sip and I was like bless her soul it just looked like it was what she
needed yeah you would like to see and she really was just soaking and all I think that's so cool
I knew you were going to say I'm like oh no she has kids like it's the only way that you find that
much like joy like joy alone in a restaurant I mean I know having one kid is it's it's a lot
because I feel like parents these days first of all in quarantine you're taking on so many
different roles and because you're splitting your time obviously you were being full on mom at home
and then it's like these days I feel like you have to do so much as a parent and you have to be so
much as a parent where back in the day when you know my dad was one of six kids and all these
and and it was like you just started helping around the house at a young age and it was just very
different back then but now I'm like to have one must be a lot to have four with two 12
year old twin daughters i just wanted to like go give her a little squeeze and be like no any anyone i know
that has twins it i think it's very intense and then to have more kids on top of the twins is a big old
i can't imagine no i can't imagine either bless them all yes all parents out there yes pretty
we bow down to all of you oh that's amazing okay so have you watched every season like recently
of the bachelor you know i there's a couple i skipped
I haven't finished mats.
I'm like in the middle of hometowns.
And I already know, like I saw Michelle, the teacher with her classroom and kids.
I'm like, well, that's who you should marry.
And I'm like, obviously he's not picking her.
It's just.
It's always the obvious ones that they should pick that they don't.
Of course.
So you're like, okay, well, you're not going to pick the obvious right choice.
Yeah.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, I forget who the other.
Oh, yeah, I remember now.
But yeah, I'm in the middle.
I've seen most of them.
I think I didn't see.
There's a couple bachelorets I was missing recently.
I'm not going to put the pressure.
and you don't say me, but who's your favorite bachelor or bachelorette?
I already told you you are.
It's not a lie.
All time.
And when it was like, remember when they brought you on and what was the other girl's name
that was with you?
Brit.
Yeah, Brit.
First of all, like, that's so whatever.
I was like, well, obviously it's going to be Caitlin.
I'm like, what are you doing?
See, and I didn't think that because I was like, I'm like this potty mouth.
No, of course, because you're a cool person and you're not going to be like, it's going to be
me.
Yeah, but that's, I don't usually fit the mold.
But now I find that there's.
starting to just, you know, what I'm really excited for this season is, I think by the time
this comes out, we'll be able to know who The Bachelorette is, but it's Katie from this season.
It is for sure.
I heard there were rumors of that.
Well, she was the only real one, and she was calling out all these mean girls, who I'm sorry,
they were being f***ing means.
So mean.
I'm like, who wants to be, it's not cool.
Oh, my gosh.
I know.
And I was always sitting there wondering, how are you being this nasty, knowing that we're
living in a world where women empowerment is so celebrated. Right. And how can you feel good about yourself
bullying all these women? That's what I, you're right. I loved that about Katie. And you're right.
She was real. So I'm, I'm very excited for the season because I know one, she doesn't have a type. She doesn't
have a shape, a color, a size. She is so, so about energy and people's personality. And that's what
the show needs as people like that. And I just feel like it's going to be so much more real. And I'm
I'm so excited to be a part of this season and changes they're making and it's yeah good it's a good time
I feel like it's a good time for it and you know every every Bachelorette that's been real like you
I feel like spearheaded that because you were just so yourself you know I remember you on the
Jimmy Kimmel date and you like just handled it as like that that's my girl like she you know you could
hang like you're funny and that was but you I think Hannah Brown was real like she yeah I feel like she
kept it real yeah um so i'll be excited for katie because i think it's like that same vein you know i think
so too i think she's going to do really really well she's a very interesting very intelligent
woman like she's i think it's she walked out with a dildo i mean come on everyone was questioning it
i actually have a tweet and i had no idea but i had a tweet from night one and i said i don't know
i hope this tweet age as well but i think dildo girl's going to go far if not be the next bachelorette
I just got the chills when you said that.
You called it.
I did, too. I don't know how I thought that.
I was just made because I was like, she was real and baldy and was like,
like, you want to know who I've been spending time with?
I'm like, oh my God, I love you.
Like, just be real.
It's what people want to see.
People are craving just realness.
And I think even like to show this season, I hope they show more like behind the scenes,
kind of real things because I just think that more love stories, more realness,
more like, okay, we all like a little bit of drama from.
the show, but I just, I think people are really craving right now, just some feel-good shit.
Yeah, everyone, of course. After this year, it's like, you just want to have fun,
you want to laugh, you want to be entertained. And look, obviously the Bachelor is always
entertaining, no matter what, while they do it, spin it, or whatever. But yeah, you're right.
And they think just also, like, relatable and funny and just, I think that's the right direction.
I agree. In my humble opinion. I totally agree.
My expert bachelor opinion. No, you always want to ask the people.
that watch so it's good to hear your opinion and my last question is from me how would you
do your limo entrance if you ever went on the bachelor oh my you know what's so funny i've never even
thought of that or maybe i have i don't think it would be how to what was yours i can't remember what was
your first one i went up to chrisoles who was the farmer and i said something really yeah what was
it i said something i said i don't really know much about you but i know you're farmer so you can plow
the fuck out of my field any day that's right that's right and i was like i'll like her that was awesome
yeah of course because that leaves like some but you didn't do anything like you were just real and
funny and you weren't like you know wearing some costume or doing some crazy ass like whatever that's
what was so good and that's what i think the real thing just like walk up be like hey nice to me you know
like right i don't know a dildo's pretty genius and your joke was pretty genius so
Yeah, those two are already taken.
They're already taken.
Yeah.
I'm trying to think of what you could do going in.
You know, I did see they're having a senior edition, and I feel like at my age, I'm like eligible.
They are.
Oh, my gosh.
How freaking cute is that going to be to see.
My weakness is puppies, babies, and old people.
Golden Girls is my all-time.
I'm Sophia.
I love Golden Girls so much.
I, because I rescued two
Goldens, if one of them was a girl, I was going to
name her Blanche. Of course.
Yeah, Golden Girl. Absolutely.
My daughter got a puppy and I tried to
actually say, what about Blanche? I'm not
any kidding. She wouldn't go for it. That's okay.
She named her Gertie, which is better than Icy, which was her backup
options. Wait, what is the dog's name though?
Gertie. Gertie. Oh, that's so stupid.
Gutee. Oh, that's so stupid. Gertie.
What kind of a dog? She's like
a poodle shih Tzu, little fassy shithead.
I mean.
Well, that's, poodle anything is sassy I find.
Yes.
They're smart, though.
Very smart.
She's very sassy.
But she's my daughter's dog.
You know.
That's so cute.
Teaching her responsibility, young.
I like it.
Oh, my gosh.
Tell everyone where they are going to be able to find the podcast and say the date again
so everyone can remember because I am so into this.
I am so happy you are.
I really hope if you ever want to come on and talk about the O.C.
Yes, I do.
Yes, I do.
But yeah, welcome to the OC fiction.

running which that's awesome so great well i can't wait to listen i can't wait to rewatch it has actually
