Starting point is 00:01:47 And in the studio today, we have country singer Russell Dickerson, along with his wife Kaylee thank you so much for being here boom thanks for having been looking forward to this for a while what an intro right I'm like I could have said a little more but I'm like just say your names we'll get we'll get to all the details we'll get there we'll figure it out we're already going to get into coffee right away because we were just talking about this and I'm like let's save it for the podcast okay I had two shots of espresso I'm shaking love it though I'm like I'm alive you're on the bulletproof I'm on a bulletproof train yeah okay um tell me sell me on it all right so basically it just it's high fat there's like butter and coconut oil in this coffee like
Starting point is 00:02:28 blend it up okay so it's what's the point it's basically like a meal honestly and so i don't get hungry at all there's no crash or anything because i used to make like a smoothie with like strawberry carb carb carb carb but oil carbs give you energy but this is like high fat trained your body to run off fat and then the fat that you've already stored and so you're just running and gunning all day baby oh shit wow okay okay stop selling you've already sold that's that sounds great yeah it's basically what we eat until lunch but i'm such a big breakfast guy see i don't love breakfast so i like this i'm too but you don't eat breakfast anymore because of bulletproof coffee yeah no no dishes just yeah Bulletproof, but like for real, I used to put, like, I used to keep stacking up carbs
Starting point is 00:03:20 and like carbs are energy. Right. But then I would make a smoothie and then an hour and a half later, I'd be like, I need a granola bar. I need. What about eggs? Love eggs. Yeah, me too.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Yeah. So that's a part, that's all a part of the same kind of diet. Oh. Yeah. Okay. I used to carry granola bars in case he would crash. Like, he would just get hangary, couldn't make decisions. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Hangary is such a real thing. Yeah. And like, I took Adderall every day of high school, like, as prescribed. by my pediatrician. Yeah. Legit. And now you don't need it. And yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:48 This is like brain focus. What? It keeps you focus too? It's amazing. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Are you like super ADD?
Starting point is 00:03:58 You think I would be? But you're like organized. No. No, no, no, no. No. Oh, there's my Canadian. There it goes. Oh, yeah, you'll bet.
Starting point is 00:04:05 Here it goes. Oh, man. Kaylee says you heard my accent. I'm like, what? I like pride myself. Not that I don't want a Canadian accent because I'm proud to be Canadian, obviously. But I get calls. called out on it so much that I feel like I'm very aware
Starting point is 00:04:17 and I haven't been called out on it in a long time. Oh, it's so cute. So you miss getting called out. You're like, my accent. Yeah, maybe I do. Thank you. Well, when, you know, how long have you guys lived here? Like, almost three years. It'll, you'll eventually, because I had a Wisconsin accent. Yeah. And it slowly
Starting point is 00:04:33 has just shifted. And then we go to Wisconsin and they're like, you have more of an accent than he does. That's not true. They're just not used to hearing me without. Oh, yeah. You bet. Right, because I feel like that's kind of more Canadian than Canadian accents. Yeah, seriously. It's just different. It's so cute, though.
Starting point is 00:04:53 What's that show with, they have the craziest accents on? Oh. Oh, oh. Oh. I like felt it. I was like, oh, oh, oh. What's the, um, Fargo? Yes, yes, Fargo.
Starting point is 00:05:09 I think that's like, isn't that Minnesota? It's the same. I mean, they're the same place. The same kind of accent, right? Yeah, yeah. Anyways. You brought her name up earlier before we started podcasting. But Girl with No Job.
Starting point is 00:05:22 Love. Love. She really hyped you guys up. Aw. Yeah, so don't blow this interview, okay? I'll be like we already have. No, no. Actually, the more you blow it, the better it is, in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:05:35 So let's just get to what you're doing. Okay. You're absolutely killing it in the country music world right now. Your debut single, Yours, is number one. country radio. CMT calls the song the biggest love song of the year. Kind of a big deal. It's pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Was that the song that you sang on The Bachelorette? Yeah. Oh, Rachel's season, right? Yes. Rachel and Dean's date. Oh, Rachel and Dean's date. Rachel and Dean. Oh.
Starting point is 00:06:02 Yeah. The one that got away. I know. The one that wasn't ready. Yeah, the one that wasn't ready. The child. I don't think he likes me because I always say he's not like a man. He's a boy.
Starting point is 00:06:12 But I don't mean that in a bad way. He just... Isn't he 19? No. 20. This isn't baby Becca. Yeah, baby Beck. 19 and a half.
Starting point is 00:06:24 According to Dean, 19 and a half, guys. What was that experience like for you going on The Bachelor? Well, we're fans, obviously. And we watch the show. So I've had yours for so long. I was like, this song is going to be perfect. I know it's going to happen one day. Like, we're going to be on The Bachelor.
Starting point is 00:06:43 in some way shit oh yeah he was like i will make this dream come true for you oh my gosh amazing and so you know i mean just hold it on to that faith of that but like so we tried for the previous season yeah and it didn't it didn't work out eventually and so yeah but then it was like once yours was starting to get some traction and then everybody at abc heard the song and yeah they told us when we were there they were like as soon as we heard it it was like no no doubt and you were like I've been putting this out into the universe. Yeah, where have you been? Where have you been?
Starting point is 00:07:17 My favorite part was we got to be friends with Chris Harrison. Oh, isn't he just legendary? Yeah. Oh. Oh. Like we've met Garth Brooks and like that was mind-blowing. Right. But I met Chris Harrison and I was like, oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:07:35 He's so mysterious too. Like he's, I know him well and I still find him mysterious. Like there's just something about him Like when he walks in her I don't even feel like he takes steps Like he just floats And he's just like this presence That we all don't deserve
Starting point is 00:07:49 Yeah Like so kind Like so humble so kind He came on our bus And just like hung out with us for hours Yeah And I personally believe The grand finale of him hosting
Starting point is 00:07:59 Should be him as The Bachelor You know what Oh my gosh I've said the same thing I think it would be And I will host You absolutely should I'll be the Christmas
Starting point is 00:08:11 Harrison, and he can be the bachelor. Give us a little audition. Oh, okay. Chris, this is your final rose. That's all he got. But I did the hand gestures, and that really is what sells it. You know how he always does it? Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:27 I wonder all the time, I should ask him this, if he does think, like, every time he says that, like, oh, God, here we go again. Like, obviously, this is the final rose. Obviously, this is a freaking final rose. How many names could you say in a row before? That's a great question. He told us that. that like they step away and yeah yeah so it's like a little editing trick where like I wouldn't
Starting point is 00:08:47 know who the guys were on night one I wouldn't even know I would just go into a back room and be like look at their little keychain pictures that they have on like a little keychain and I'd be like oh yeah yeah that guy oh yeah okay I'll keep that guy and then I knew the name so I'd be like oh Ryan and then I'd go out there and I'd be like I don't even know which one's Ryan so I'd like look down and I'd be like Ryan and then he'd walk forward I'd be like oh yeah that guy yeah yeah so it took me a while but I remember one time in New York City it was freezing cold and we were at a baseball field
Starting point is 00:09:17 and I was like I'm going to say I think there's 10 guys left at that point I was like I'm going to memorize the 10 names I'm going to make a song about it in my head and say all the names because I do not want to make them freeze their asses off any more than they already have to do so 10 in a row was my
Starting point is 00:09:32 that's really good pretty good right how did the song go Ryan Matthew Mark and John Oh she's just reading the Bible That's exactly Matthew Mark Luke and John
Starting point is 00:09:45 There was a guy named Roman Oh my gosh Why did those names come I didn't even face Sean He was last though I went with Matthew Mark Luke and John Matthew Mark Luke
Starting point is 00:09:58 Sean That's what I meant That's what I meant to say Sean not John Okay I'm like jumping all over this week We're just trying to pump your tires
Starting point is 00:10:08 you know give you some credit where credit is due did you just announce you're going on to Earth Lady Antebellum yes aren't they just lovely people amazing people we got to do their little golf show top golf and yeah they're just really chill nice they're like normal human beings yeah they're not like they're so successful and they're normal people right which is always a great combo yes yeah great combo that's what and
Starting point is 00:10:38 Darius Rucker as well on that it's like so they're co-headlining yeah wow so it's gonna be really cool do you get nervous for that kind of thing like lead like yeah like it consumes a lot of my mind in a good way like right of course all right I gotta get like oh this jacket's cool like I'm gonna wear this on stage when I go out with Lady A you know what I mean like yeah and like that's where I'm at right now it's just like because it doesn't start till July right but so I mean it's just like all the do you just go to sleep at night and be like wow I friggin' made it. Uh, getting there. Getting there. Well, you did go on the Bachelorette, so really, you have made it. That's what I feel about myself. You have me. I was on the Bachelorette.
Starting point is 00:11:21 I've made it. Oh, gosh. And then, Kaila used to be in music too, right? You guys went to school for music. Is that how you met? Oh, at Belmont? Belmont. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Oh, that's nice. We had the same voice teacher. We actually don't remember meeting. Oh. Because we were just, like, friends. You know, like, you don't remember meeting people in your class necessarily. They're just, like, in class with you. And so how did it evolve?
Starting point is 00:11:45 Tell me more. Yeah, we're like, made out. Oh, my gosh. We told him out. We really, it was, honestly, the, who sings the, you're going to kiss me or not? It was that. Like, we were at a graduation party, and we'd been hanging out more and more, and we were, like, standing on the side of it. And I was like, are you going to kiss me or not?
Starting point is 00:12:04 Like, straight up. Really? Because he, like. Literally. Literally. He wasn't necessarily used to, oh my gosh. He wasn't used to making the first move. Right.
Starting point is 00:12:16 And I definitely wasn't going to. Right. Of course not. Then I did it. And then you went and then he did the thing. It was kind of movie like, yeah, it was real, it was real cute. It was pretty romantic. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:26 Can we just talk about what does it say on your glass that we were just laughing at? Best Bishes. Oh. I didn't even, I was like, what does it say? I can't remember. Oh. So my girlfriend, Whitney, who was. engaged to Chris Souls, but is now remarried to the biggest beauty on earth.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Her last name was Bischoff. And so for her wedding, it was like the hashtag. Oh, my God. And they made us wine glasses. So I love that. So stoked for her. Oh, she is, she's one of my best friends. So cute.
Starting point is 00:12:54 Ricky is like the biggest beauty. Like I just love him. He's so much fun. He's so caring and loves her so much and they're so cute. I love that. I know. I know. I just love talking about love
Starting point is 00:13:08 That's the best I really did you guys do anything For Valentine's Day yesterday I know by the time this air People be like All my single listeners Are gonna be like shut up Caitlin we don't want to hear
Starting point is 00:13:16 About Valentine's Day anymore But I like to hear about it What you guys do? So we have a tradition of staying in And cooking on Valentine's Day That's nice It's because we were so broke Yeah we were so poor
Starting point is 00:13:27 That like we'd get a gift card To like a nice restaurant And we'd go and you know Do it big But then Valentine's Day came around and we couldn't afford to go out because we were broke right and the fixed menu thing it's like minimum $200 okay minimum is that just a Nashville thing I don't know
Starting point is 00:13:46 because we went out for dinner last night and they had the set menu I didn't even look at the price because we were like oh this is cute and we did it and then I was like oh dang and then they brought the bill it's brutal yeah yeah so what we what we did was just like we get we just copy our favorite dishes from like Kane Prime or Modo or You know, all the southerner, yeah. And so, yeah, that's what we do. So you remake, oh, that's so cute. I love cooking.
Starting point is 00:14:13 Do you guys love cooking? Love. Yeah. Love. Me too. So we newly in love with cooking. He didn't use you, but I love that he does now. Yeah, like you pour some wine.
Starting point is 00:14:22 You can wear whatever you want. There's no waiter to talk to. It's just you two, which is, you don't have to wear anything. Yeah, exactly. You can't do that out. No pants are the best pants is what I always say. I don't know. say that, I don't know where that came from.
Starting point is 00:14:37 But we did like steak, scallops. Like, we actually splurged a little bit this time. Well, yeah. And treat yourself. Yeah. That's so romantic. So fun. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:47 Where'd you guys go? Yeah, I feel like this needs to go into my confessions because. I can't wait for this. Because I'm going to confess for Sean. Let me just tell you. I say this every week. I'm like, it is so hard to come up with a confession every week when I podcast. Sometimes I do two podcasts in a week.
Starting point is 00:15:01 And I'm like, I can't tell you guys everything. Like, I don't even know where to go sometimes. I'll pull out things from like my childhood, but I'm going to confess for Sean on this one. So we don't really have tradition for Valentine's Day. We have traditions for Christmas and all these things, but we kind of just change it up every year for Valentine's Day. And so this year, Sean made me pancakes in the morning, and then we went to a matinee, and then we got some work done and took a nap, and then a plumber came over, but that's... That's hot. Oh, that's hot.
Starting point is 00:15:34 I know. I know. Yeah, you should have seen what he was worried. And then we went out for dinner. So I'm going to confess for Sean right now. We'll do the confessions. I'm sorry, Sean, but I have to tell this. He doesn't know I'm telling this story.
Starting point is 00:15:47 I hope he doesn't care. So I woke up around 10 yesterday and I could like smell that he was making breakfast. I got so excited. I walk out into the kitchen and he is standing there in my yellow frilly apron. and that's it butt cheeks are just out everything's out
Starting point is 00:16:09 the apron is very tiny and he's 10 in the morning he's just flipping pancakes in a teeny little yellow frilly apron you have pictures
Starting point is 00:16:19 I don't need to see I was so in the moment that I didn't even take a photo I love it I should have but I was just so in the moment you know just turn around
Starting point is 00:16:29 how do you like your eggs baby yeah that's exactly and I was just like, wow, this is something I will cherish forever. Yeah. Yeah. It was very romantic. I laughed for probably like 20 minutes, but it was amazing.
Starting point is 00:16:44 So that's my confession for Sean. But he went there and I really appreciate it. Do you guys have any confessions for me? Oh. We thought about it. We were talking about it. What? No.
Starting point is 00:16:56 Oh, we have some. Oh, okay. You just don't know where to start. Okay, okay, okay. Yeah, sip the mimosa. yeah the truth serum the truth serum yeah that's usually I'm drinking wine but I'm like this is an early podcast let's go mimosa yeah I like it I have one if you want to ponder yours mine's from my childhood but it is it's the story that my friends make me tell at other parties
Starting point is 00:17:17 it's her party yeah it's her party trick oh party trick I can't wait I true story I was around five I kept and ate cookie dough I kept and ate cookie dough under my bed for over a year wait as a child no yes my mom would make batches and batches for Christmas and I went out to from Wisconsin you treat the car like a refrigerator or the garage so our fridge was too full I'm the youngest of six kids it's like a zoo so I no one's watching I'm just like five years old walk out to the car in my little galoshes oh my god get the mixer we should all say galoshes together one two three galoshes oh i get the mixer and bring it upstairs into my room oh like the whole metal kitchenade mixer oh wow i didn't go for the ones i didn't go for the ones in the zip
Starting point is 00:18:15 blocks took the mixer and it was oatmeal cookie dough and i would just eat it like i'd go upstairs like lift the tinfoil on top and just eat it but wait this is over a year over a year fresh cookie dough each time okay no wait no no no no no no yes how are you sitting here I don't know I'm here to tell you Salmanilla is a hoax yeah like it is conspiracy it is not real so so to confirm this story I kind of forgot I did it and then in high school I've it just like came back to me all of a sudden I was like oh my gosh I did that I know it was a year because we would rearrange our room every six months yeah and I hit it in two different spots first in the bathroom and the second time in my brother Toby's room and then was it a year that you were like
Starting point is 00:19:00 I probably shouldn't do this no it was gone like I ate it all oh you didn't restart a new batch you were like this is it for me so then I brought it downstairs and I think I washed it myself like a little six year old just like oh that's kind of cute and like you just put it away and my mom my mom in high school we were talking about it all of a sudden it was like true confessions like the statute of limitation and pass like so I I was like I was like I did this when I was five and she goes that's where it went oh she knew and I was like one and she goes the mixer I couldn't find it for so long I ordered I didn't think of that I ordered I ordered another one so she has two to confirm the story no one has two of those metal no no no no my mom does because I stole
Starting point is 00:19:43 the cookie though that's and then it just magically reappeared a year later in cleaning she saw stranger things oh that is so funny that's a great confession I forgive you yeah thank you for stealing And so is your mom. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. I did confessions with my mom, but I did it, like, when I podcasted with my mom. And I was like, okay, like, here's some confessions, but I'm going to ask you if they're true or false. So I was like, I stole your car when I was like 15, true or false.
Starting point is 00:20:11 And she's like, I would have known. I'm like, no, I stole your car when I was 15. It was so funny. Oh, my gosh. Okay, Rosalie, it's your turn. Do you know yours? I don't, I mean, there's so many. That's great
Starting point is 00:20:26 That's great Pick the worst one And by worse I mean best Because we were talking Like we listened to Some episodes And we're like Oh God we're gonna have to do
Starting point is 00:20:37 Compassions Should just go for it Yeah Which one in the Valentine's? Yeah You could I don't know Okay
Starting point is 00:20:43 I'll censor It needs to be censored A little bit Okay Does it though? No it doesn't It doesn't My listeners love
Starting point is 00:20:52 Okay perfect The like no censor Yeah we're all about it man I've kept this story so close for so long I mean if you're gonna confess okay it's a place to do it I'll give you I'll give you bullet points it was Valentine's day I was eight years old and I had this like giant tree in our backyard and I found this long rope but on the end was an industrial sized hook that was at the bottom and so one day Valentine's Day, when I was eight years old, was sliding down this rope.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Oh, boy. Yeah. Oh, boy. Where did it go? It went to the emergency room. Yeah. Oh, wow. Oh, gosh.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Why am I so Canadian with you guys? Oh. Why? Okay. Sorry. It took all R.D. straight to the emergency room. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:21:49 Gracious. On Valentine's Day, ironically enough. Right. But, you know, the doctor. The doctor said we're all good for kids and nothing was ruptured or anything. Wow, you're very lucky. Just a mere flesh wound. So you slid down it knowing there was a hook on the other?
Starting point is 00:22:04 Yeah, I mean, I think I had slid down it many times. Oh. But this one time, it tore right through my Mighty Duck sweatsuit. I remember what I was. The maroon one? Yes. Oh, I used to love. The swishy.
Starting point is 00:22:20 And I always thought I was too, like I couldn't worry because it was too like boyish. for me to wear. I loved the maroon mighty duck sweatsuit. I knew I loved you. Oh, man. Dang, I want a picture of both of you to mash up. Rest in peace to my Mighty Ducks swishy pants. Well, you could have sewed up the hole or something.
Starting point is 00:22:40 Well, that was the doctor's job. Oh, man. Yes. That's great. Great confessions. I forgive you as well. Childhood. Childhood.
Starting point is 00:22:52 Thank you. That doesn't really ask for first. Forgiveness, but I appreciate you sharing the story. Yeah. Yeah. Let's wash away all of our sins. Cheers. Cheers.
Starting point is 00:23:02 You can't hear the clink, but they're plastic. I brought plastic cups. My class. Nothing says class, like 9.30 a.m. drinking. Like, not glass. Like, not glass. Exactly. Just got my new shipment of wine, so you know it's time for me to talk about my favorite
Starting point is 00:23:18 wine club. Bright sellers, I've seen you guys on the Twitter and tweet me your pictures of your deliveries. I'm so proud of you all. Bright Sellers has a quiz that asks you questions like, hey, what's your favorite type of chocolate? And what do you usually put in your coffee? And then there algorithm system uses your answers to calculate the four wines that you are most likely to love. They'll even show you your top four recommended wine matches for free when you go to brightsellers.com slash off the vine. And if you find that you like your matches, you can order the wine and get 50% off your first order with my link that's bright sellers sellers as in wine cellar dot com slash off
Starting point is 00:23:59 the vine for 50% off who doesn't like a fun quiz that ends up in four bottles of wine that's delivered to your door come on so I'm going to put you guys on the spot even though I just did that oh gosh for the second time it's not anything hard some listeners like if they don't know you I want them to get to know you and I thought I'm going to ask you both to kind of describe each other what I'm ready okay I'm excited
Starting point is 00:24:26 are you yeah oh okay I couldn't your face your facial expression kind of went from like I'm concerned to like
Starting point is 00:24:34 actually I'm really excited so okay just kind of where each other came from how you got to where you are and kind of just like just a couple words
Starting point is 00:24:46 to describe the person whoever wants to go first yeah where you are where you came from Just like how would you... Like growing up? Yeah. Like how would you describe Kaylee to someone if they're like, what's your girl like?
Starting point is 00:24:58 Where did she come from? Who is she? And how did she get to where you guys are now? Boom. She's a Wisconsin girl. Of course. Yes. She is the youngest and only girl of six kids.
Starting point is 00:25:12 Wow. Five older brothers. That usually leads to another path of talking just about that point forever. And that probably makes her super cool too like tough and like you're probably so tough and like you can hang yeah like she's super hot but like she's she can hang oh hang with the boys I can see that and so we can get into that too with how involved she's been with all this but she's like everyone like at a party this is my favorite thing about her at a party like I'm the guy who's like that was everybody yeah and then like she's the one over in the corner until 2 a.m. literally discussing like the person she's talking to is crying oh 99% of the time and it's just like pouring out their heart to her about any and everything that and she just like brings out the best in people when like yeah like like she like she's so nice you know what i'm saying though like she's like i'm i'm the boisterous you know energy guy and she's the one who like is how's
Starting point is 00:26:15 your life though right she cares yeah and she really does care about people but she actually actually cares right she's not like how are you that's cool let me tell you about me yeah she's I hate small talk me too it's one of my biggest pepives I get I say I'm small talked out all the time yeah sometimes I don't even respond to small talk like just ignore it people probably think I'm such a dick if you ask me a real question I'll answer they're like oh how or no the weather talk oh it's a little windy out there today right no I just won't even respond I'm like absolutely not yeah anyways continue um Yeah, that's beautiful.
Starting point is 00:26:51 That's, like, my favorite thing about her. And you guys met, no, you've been married five years. Married five years. How long have you actually been together? Since 2010, eight years, yeah. Okay, okay. It's a hefty amount of time, yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:06 Do I get to describe him yet? Okay. Don't make me cry, please. Please make them cry. Okay, he already kind of said it. He is the happiest, genuinely. Like, he wakes up every day and is like, Today is the best day of my life.
Starting point is 00:27:22 And I'm like, you said that yesterday. Like, he is legitimately sunshine in unicorns. I need that. It's very cute. I usually say he's the tall one over there. When we're someone, they're like, where's your husband? I'm like, he's the tall one over there. Right.
Starting point is 00:27:39 I think something more sentimental about you. You don't have to. No, no, but. No, no, no, no. Well, he's so hilarious. I'm, like, crying, laughing. every single day like the most hilarious person like last night we're having dinner and he was like talking to invisible waiters like because we're having our like Valentine's date because I will take
Starting point is 00:28:00 a box for this and I'd like another Cabernet like what I was dying laughing your comedic timing is oh yeah oh he has the best social cues if anyone ever he just flipped his finger night he was like yes I know you're not wrong thank you for your honesty yeah he has an amazing Jim Carrey impersonation. Keith, I saw that on Twitter and I was going to ask you to do it. Go for it. What is your go-to, Jim Carrey impression? Ace Ventura is a good one.
Starting point is 00:28:29 Of course. Because that's a strong personality. Strong. All of his personalities are strong. Okay, I can't wait. So there's, my favorite part is when he's on the airplane. Okay. He's like, there's someone on the wing.
Starting point is 00:28:44 Something. And now. Now, a yak. Yeah. That's great. Man. And I was in, I had a show. She wasn't there.
Starting point is 00:29:08 She usually comes with me. But I was by myself and I was signed in to the Netflix on the hotel TV. You know, they do that now? And Ace Ventura 1 and 2 popped up. And so I watched both of them. back to back and was just crying laughing yeah every time it's funny okay that's another thing that I find super eerie is when you like have something in your head and then all of a sudden it's there you know what I mean like if if I was talking about like subway all of a sudden
Starting point is 00:29:37 subway would be like a sponsored ad on my Instagram it's a real thing they have access their Facebook is the only thing that has access the only app that has access to your mic so Instagram and Facebook it's a real thing mark Zuckerberg if you're listening no it's a real thing out of my I mean I'm pretty sure that's true I'm pretty sure that's true but yeah so they like we did it the other day with a friend of ours and what were they saying like you tested the system vodka or something they were like gray goose vodka gray goose vodka like in their phone and the next day they'd add for greggis and they've never searched it unbelievable like we were just testing it it's weird yeah that kind of made me like yeah he be jibis like we did that on vacation because we
Starting point is 00:30:18 Stayed at a friend's place, and they had one of those temporepetic breeze. And we're like, oh, this is amazing. Never searched it ever. Next day. So we looked it up. Next day, all over our ads. Oh, that is so genius. What a master plan.
Starting point is 00:30:37 Wow. That Mark guy knows what he's doing. But I have heard on that same note that you have this crazy energy, the best kind of energy, that you have. are the happiest most genuine person do you like it's true that's amazing i i really have heard that for more than five people wow wow yeah whether it be twitter girl with no job okay thanks claude claude claude okay on a sentimental note about him i'll say he my favorite thing about him is how he champions people around him oh that's a good quality like isn't like hey hey
Starting point is 00:31:18 hey, let me tell you all about myself all the time. And especially the more, the farther we get along, like, we're both just so tired about talking about ourselves. I totally get, yeah. So, especially in the industry you're in, like, you know, it's a lot of talking about yourself and going to interviews to talk about you. And I get that. Yeah, that's a great quality.
Starting point is 00:31:36 And, yeah, because we, we've been friends in this industry for a really long time with, like, the Florida Georgia line guys and a bunch of people. And he watched our friends just, like, blow up in front of our faces. Yeah. And he never was, like, jealous or, like, bitter or anything. Right, which is a very easy feeling to have. Yeah, like, why isn't it me or whatever. Like, he knew it was coming in a different way, I guess.
Starting point is 00:32:03 That made it a little better. But he just cheered him on. And I always admired that about him. He was never bummed out. That's amazing. Yeah. Wow. On a sentimental note.
Starting point is 00:32:16 That is. It's really beautiful. Yeah. It is. It is. It is. Sorry. No.
Starting point is 00:32:23 Okay. And he's out. No, that's really sweet. And I do love that because that would be such an easy feeling to have. And it's not a wrong feeling. It's just an easy feeling to get like, oh, why isn't it my turn? But I do think I'm such a big believer in karma. And I bet that has a lot to do with your success is the kind of person you are.
Starting point is 00:32:46 Yeah. Totally. And you're really like, after you just tell me you don't like talking about yourself all the time, I'm like, wouldn't you say that is your best quality? Wouldn't you say you're really awesome? And you're very successful. Yeah. Yeah. I would.
Starting point is 00:32:56 I feel like you like Mondays. Do you like Mondays? Yes. I feel like they're a restart button. How'd you know that? I don't. I just guessed. Is that really a thing?
Starting point is 00:33:07 Yes. He does. He loves Monday. Yeah. It's like a fresh week to just kick in the face. You know what I'm saying? Great attitude. Yes.
Starting point is 00:33:15 I try and push Mondays on my listeners all the time. time because everyone's always like oh it's monday i can't wait for friday and then on my other podcast called great therapy i was like i'm going to start like really like pushing mondays on people because why does everybody want their weeks to go by so fast why do they want to get to friday like live your mondays and be like hello this week let's do this let's do the damn thing yeah and like slow down Friday because that means life's going too fast yeah that means you like your job too yeah i saw there's like this viral video guy who's like a motivational speaker and he always like cusses a lot in his thing oh Tony Robbins no not ton I love Tony Robbins yeah me too talk about a podcast oh he's
Starting point is 00:33:58 one of my dream guests that's how I found out about bulletproof oh he's a bulletproof guy Tony oh big big bulletproof guy okay but uh but anyways this guy was just like talking about like people are always waiting for Fridays you know like is like yeah but like every day day needs to be the day that you're motivated to you know don't wait for friday to feel happy yeah like feel happy on monday and and even if you're like okay maybe you don't love your job find ways to love your job like i remember the best taxi ride i ever had this guy kept a cooler this was before uber days he kept a cooler in his back seat of like soda and waters and he was the happiest that His cab was so clean, and he was just, like, so positive.
Starting point is 00:34:44 And he goes, do I get road rage? Yeah. And he's like, do I have bad days? Yeah. He goes, but I like to make my customers happy because that makes my days better. And I was like, you just upped your tip by, like, at least 20%. Yeah. Genius.
Starting point is 00:34:57 And it just probably makes him have better days, too, to be a little bit motivated to, like, you know, if you have a job, do your best job. You know? Have you heard about the Eniagram? No. It's a personality. She is, okay. Oh, she might be a seven with you. So it's one through, one through nine, nine different personalities.
Starting point is 00:35:15 The enneagram. Oh, I want one. So he, yeah. So you take the test, and it's nice because it's not like, congratulations on being you. It's like, in stress, you are like this, and in growth you are like this. And it's really interesting. Anyway, he's a seven, so it's one through nine. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:33 And a seven, like, they describe them as their emotions. Seven. Seven. All the way from. Seven. Friends quote. Yes. Best episode of all done. Their emotions range from ecstatic all the way down to happy.
Starting point is 00:35:47 Okay. And that is it. I mean, it's like you can wear people out with the amount of energy you have. That could be me too. It's just the life of the party. Everyone's excited to surprise you or tell you good news because you celebrate them. Oh. He's a seven.
Starting point is 00:36:03 Okay. What are you? I'm a three. Okay. Which means what? A three with a very. strong two wing if I'm getting technical okay it's basically achiever so like it kind of has filtered into us together like achieving things together yeah but also the two is a helper so
Starting point is 00:36:21 that's me in the corner and that is why you work so well it works it works this one oh I would love to um take that test what do you think I would be on you might be a seven I might be a seven and I think he I feel like you're kindred yeah yeah and I feel like you and Sean could be similar but that again that's why opposites can work because that's what you need exactly i could never date a seven no offense neither could he right neither just you just can't literally just combust like i don't think too much too much energy in one the world can't handle two sevens yeah but i think one of them one of the sevens would end up going to their stress right or something like that because like i don't know because well i've been around sevens who like i toured with this this band and
Starting point is 00:37:07 And one of the guys was a super seven. And, like, I came into their situation, and he had already, like, established his sevenness. And so I, you know what I mean? Like, I was still, like, myself. But, like, he was the life of the party all day, every day. Okay. And so I kind of shift, like, subconsciously shipped it.
Starting point is 00:37:27 It's getting into all the crazy personality stuff. We love this kind of stuff. And it's a cool one. It's a cool one because when you meet people, it's pretty easy to be like, oh, I think they might be this. or that and you then know how to engage them or how like a friend of ours one of our very best friends he's a peacemaker yeah which in in the midst of it you're like okay just like make up your mind or like pick aside yes but he never will oh and then you like that's him that's him
Starting point is 00:37:53 and that's so okay i love that it's cool it's really cool enneagram i can't wait to do this n n-a-g-r-a-m i'm going to get you to text me that okay done Because my short-term memory is questionable. Mine, too. So bad. Thanks guys for tuning in to the Game of Mirsel podcast. Lins is brought to you by the Enneagram.com. Make sure you click the link in the bio.
Starting point is 00:38:16 Wow. What a podcast voice. Do you want to do the voice? He just gave you a sponsor. Yeah. Thank you. Hashtag S.B. What were you going to say?
Starting point is 00:38:26 Do you remember? No. Okay. All of our short-term memory. It's gone. All right. You guys can stop stressing out. Valentine's Day is over.
Starting point is 00:38:33 But just because the day of the day of, love is gone doesn't mean that you can't get a little romantic any time of the year. Now back to Off the Vine with Caitlin Bristow. Speaking of you being a three mixed in with a little two, I would love to hear more about that between the two of you and how that's... worked for you both because you go on tour together which some people would enjoy that time apart but i think that that probably works for the two of you because you're a helper you're a go-getter
Starting point is 00:40:47 energy ball and i just want to hear more about that dynamic of relationship and touring together and doing all of that yeah it's my favorite thing to talk about because as i said she has been so involved and so you know present in my career like at belmont when before we were even dating right she took picks she's taking every album cover photo she oh yeah because you you are very a skilled photographer oh yeah yeah that was my that was my full-time job in college and then after oh amazing full-time photography so you were helping oh yeah and so and then she shot the music video for yours what did for my song yeah incredible so she shot that we had no label no budget no money nothing and she was in the back of my SUV shooting me just walking
Starting point is 00:41:34 and down this road if you go look at it on YouTube if you watch the video it's just me on a road and it's like lightning rain God being amazing and that was it like nothing yeah and so that was it and so she made that video but what everybody doesn't see is
Starting point is 00:41:52 that she is on the road with us since 2000 since we got married 13 yeah 14 driving the van no she would help drive I can why turn a trailer I want to be married to you.
Starting point is 00:42:06 Right? Wow. She's yeah. And so literally she would be, she's done so much out on the road that no other, I feel like not many people would do that for their significant other. You know what I mean? And she set up the merch.
Starting point is 00:42:21 Oh, I could tell some merch. Set up the merch table like that. And then she would take pictures during the show. Wow. And then she would make a highlight video of the weekend that we were out. So supportive. Yeah. It's insane. And so, like, I am forever grateful. You know what I mean? Like, she has laid aside her dreams for these last few years to help get me off the ground and rolling. I mean, knowing and trusting that once that happens, like, she's good forever. Right. Yeah, of course. There was a, yeah, there was a plan in it. I really felt like, I remember in high school seeing, like, this vision of sitting side stage and, like, talking to people while they were. crying or whatever yeah and I was like I was like I feel like I need to be in the music industry
Starting point is 00:43:09 like that's what I'm supposed to do so I went to Belmont did the whole thing but I hated performing wow so I was like well I guess I have to do this and then when was it after we got married I was sitting somewhere side stage and an artist just started telling me everything about his life and I was like whoa like I had this like time warp of like this is what I saw yeah but I didn't think this is how I would get here it was like this whole thing and then I would think back to my childhood when I was in the van you know on our long drives I was sunrise shift with the boys they would drive late they would drive to like 3 a.m and then park somewhere or maybe all the way till 5 or 6 and as soon as the sun was coming up that was my I would say park us at a Starbucks and I will take over yeah
Starting point is 00:43:56 and so I would be driving and I would just like have these really sentimental thoughts of five boys in the back and I'm driving and my mom used to do that yeah so my brothers played soccer really competitively like national championships and stuff so tournaments were like Wisconsin to Dallas and Wisconsin to Florida and so I grew up in the back of a van with five boys and I'm like this is just so full circle it's like unreal like it's the easiest thing I've ever people are like how do you do that you're like this was the easiest transition my life college dorm room full of girls that was intense yeah this is the easiest thing You're like, I'm home.
Starting point is 00:44:34 Yeah, I'm home. I'm comfortable here. Yeah. Brushing our teeth in a pilot bathroom. Oh, some of them were so gross, guys. Like, so gross. Yeah, it was a grind. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:43 But I always say that the best stories come when you have, like, successful people doing what they love to do. They have the best stories of how they got there. And I think that's so beautiful that you guys have it together. Yeah. And we have a bus this year. Yeah. Oh, and then you feel spoiled. Oh.
Starting point is 00:45:00 You're like, what? I have a bathroom to brush my teeth. And it's clean? Yeah. Yeah. That's what we can pee whenever I want. Yeah. Do you guys share a little bunk?
Starting point is 00:45:10 No, we used to. Yeah, we used to. Because that's intense. So last year we were kind of on and off a bus for different stuff. And so, yeah, we'd share kind of. But then I would like wake up and go to my own bunk. But this year we're leasing our own bus that we have the whole year. And so the company was like, hey, we can build you a whole back bedroom with a full bed.
Starting point is 00:45:30 Thank God. And we were like, one million percent, absolutely. See, and you wouldn't have appreciated that bed as much if you didn't come from where you did. Hey, seriously. It sucked at times, but I wouldn't trade it because I literally will kiss the ground of this bus every single day. I used to time my water drinking. Like, I would drink a whole bottle as soon as we hit half tank. And I wouldn't drink anything before that.
Starting point is 00:45:55 Like, I used to have to time it. So you didn't have to pee? Yeah. When we were in the van. Yeah. How did you manage five boys? always any with bladders yeah i yeah we were pretty smaller than others yes we were pretty hardcore people would be like i have to pee i'm like
Starting point is 00:46:08 there's a bottle you didn't time this right yeah really you just yeah drummers have the smallest bladders oh my gosh is that it's always the drummer really it's always the drummer wow why is that i don't know what's your theory behind that because our drummer always has to piss oh yeah that's what it is and he's the one that has to go in the bottles I meant to talk about this at the beginning because I've been so energized off this movie We saw The Greatest Show Oh
Starting point is 00:46:35 Russell, hit us Hit us I knew like This is the greatest show I'm not enough You know? I tried to sing long And then I was like, nope
Starting point is 00:46:45 Nope Can't be on your level Or what's our favorite What's the one we wake up singing every day? The never Oh Never Yes exactly
Starting point is 00:46:55 Is that the one Or the other one one is the um that one oh that was a great kids voice thank you yeah yeah i just i was so moved by this movie oh i'm obsessed we got movie pass screwing on me just for the greatest showman what is that you pay ten dollars a month and it's a subscription you can go to as many movies in theaters as you want i've been to one movie in the last two years us too because because that's the point But that's probably already paid for But that's probably worth it already
Starting point is 00:47:29 Exactly yeah Because that's a movie you have to see in the theater too I hope by the time this comes out It's still in the theater And people can go because I mean I laughed I cried I cried like five times Just from being moved Like if nothing sad was happening
Starting point is 00:47:42 I was just like something came over me And my whole body felt something And tears were just streaming down my face Because of like what I was just witnessing So good And you can go twice now So like we want to go tomorrow so yeah we have guys let's go again tomorrow okay okay so down that's what that's what agreed
Starting point is 00:48:01 because the greatest showman is like no he held on to that dream for so long and i think that's what connects with so many people absolutely is like follow your dreams it sounds cliche but like no and the and that's what yeah it's hard to yeah it reminded me of you honestly because the i came home i saw this will be my third time seeing it if we go tomorrow i saw it once without him and that quote at the end what is it? It says the greatest form of art is bringing people joy or something. And that is him like him. Like his songs, his everything. He's not like, oh my gosh, it's so fun. Let's go. We've talked a lot about it. You're like, I'll be there. Let's go. I'm in. I'll see you there. There's a lot of people who treat music as like their own
Starting point is 00:48:47 therapy and they like work through their own stuff and whatever. And then there's people who like create medicine for people other people like that's him like his stuff is happy it's fun it's not like and that stemmed from you learning lessons from trying to be something else didn't it like you had obviously you can have inspirations and people who influence you but if you try and be somebody else it's not going to work and i think i read that you did that same thing like you wanted to have like keith urban vibes but then once you realize that wasn't working you just did what you're good at and that's what worked absolutely there's something so powerful about success off just being yourself yeah and it's the best it's the
Starting point is 00:49:28 easiest yeah when it's easier to be yourself than for me to pretend to be keith urban for 30 years being successful you know that's that's actually really powerful because i have a lot of listeners who are in their younger 20s and i think you know a lot of people in their younger 20s think if i was this that would be attractive or if i was this that would i'd be more confident but not a lot of people will just be like, no, this is who I am at 20, you know, two. Right. That's who I am and this is who I'm going to be. And it doesn't come naturally to it.
Starting point is 00:49:57 Yeah, that's exactly where I was at. I was 22 and trying to write the next Keith Urban smash. And it wasn't until we got married, took a little, I didn't really take a break from all of that, but I just, you know, took a step back. And when I came back to writing, it was with like some of our best friends who knew me best. we were friends at belmont in college they knew our relationship since before date we were even dating and the second song we wrote together was yours and it was just like boom super honest super real yeah they didn't like let me try to be somebody else they were like no this is how you know we
Starting point is 00:50:40 this is what we saw in your relationship and i was like oh yeah that's you know oh it's such a great song too thank you we Sean and I both love it like love it love it well that's it's number one for a reason. Yeah. It is. We had so much FOMO when Canaan was on y'all's date. Oh. We were like, we want to do that.
Starting point is 00:50:59 That's a confession. Oh, coveting. We just adore those two. Love them. We were on tour with him when he did that. Yeah, it was like right after that. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:09 So they're good friends of ours. Love them. And I was like, dang it, Canaan. We want to be on the bachelor. But wait, no, he didn't actually go on. They canceled his date to go on. And so he just came to one of our dates like, that's what it was. That's what it was.
Starting point is 00:51:23 Which was so more, it was more special. But they are just lovely people. We should all get together and have like a game's night. Love it. Because, yeah, we just. Canaan, if you're listening to us, thanks for inviting us over for dinner. Cool, bro. We went to a haunted house with them and it was like, they were probably like,
Starting point is 00:51:39 Caitlin shut up. I'm like very easily scared and I lost my voice, screamed at the top of my lungs. I hit one of the, like, oh, actors in the face because he scared. She ought to be so bad. I was like, well, bam. I just, like, smoked him in the face. And I was like, oh, sorry, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to do that.
Starting point is 00:51:57 I love them, yeah. Okay, so just going to go into Kenny Knott's. I'm going to get a couple questions from you guys, and then call it a day. Love it. Now, I don't know if this is something you experience, but my DMs on Instagram can be a very scary place. It can be a lovely place, but it can be a very scary place. In fact, I tweeted one out today just because I was like, look at what I get in my DMs sometimes.
Starting point is 00:52:21 People are the best and the worst. I don't want to damp like the lovely messages. I'm like, I'll cry because they're so awesome. But some of the silly ones, I'm like, oh, this is a good Kenyanaut segment. So do you guys have any good Instagram DM Kenyanauts? I feel like I am not at a place yet that I have a lot of haters, really. You know what I mean? Which is beautiful.
Starting point is 00:52:45 Which is great. Oh, yeah, which is great. but I don't know what it like I'll give you an example okay give me an example so I'll go out of my way on Instagram to make sure I tag every item of clothing I'm wearing because I know everybody asks like what where's your hat from where is your shirt from where is and like my DMs are just full and so I'm always like I tag each brand to the point of like my shirt and then my sweater and then my pants and my shoes and who did my hair that day like everything I will tag it and I'll say to people like just tap the photo that's and then I go into my DMs and they're like hey I love that
Starting point is 00:53:17 shirt you're wearing where'd you get it and I'm like oh can you not I tagged it and I went out of my way bruh bra bra first world problems bro that's a good one that's a good I know not everyone listening is like this is not relatable Caitlin can you not ours isn't really relatable either I mean it's it's not a can you not it just makes me feel bad if they we don't even you don't even check ours are set up that it goes into request is you're like that you're like that yeah so like if we don't follow them we can can't we don't see it but you can kind of see it right so the number of messages we get of can you sing at our wedding yes and i i'm just i'm like can you not like we yeah first of all it's a weekend
Starting point is 00:53:59 we're going to be gone right we have shows every saturday from here until the rest of our lives yeah it's not yeah don't hear us wrong it's not it's we i feel bad it's like we literally cannot we cannot we cannot but we want to like i wish that i had enough money to take a private Jet and one Saturday go to like eight different weddings. You know what I mean? I would honestly love to do that. I would love to crash
Starting point is 00:54:25 every single wedding. You can crash some weddings and do that. Would you imagine just showing up saying yours at somebody's wedding? I want to so bad. Hey, do it at mine. Also, yes, there we go. And our other can you not is
Starting point is 00:54:38 Can you not Maroon 5 steal our idea. They did that. I was thinking that same thing. They did that right when he wrote yours and we were already planning on doing it. No. And then they did, so that's another Canyonot, Maroon 5. Yeah, Maroon 5.
Starting point is 00:54:49 But there's just like a party vibe. Ours could be like a tearjerker vibe. Oh yeah, people would just like cry. We're still going to do it. Yeah, you should, as you should. Yeah. I am fully supporting this. Do you watch The Bachelor?
Starting point is 00:55:04 Yeah. Sorry, we're asking you questions. Oh, no, you could, please. I love when people turn the table. You do. Do you still watch it? Do you watch it together? Do you have like PTSD at all?
Starting point is 00:55:12 Yes. Couldn't watch it for about three seasons. Okay. definitely had that like even still now Sean's like no I'd rather not but I'm like I'll do it for the podcast yeah okay you you physically have felt that anxiety yes and it kind of brings you yes like even hearing Chris Harrison's voice sometimes I'm like like he we facetined with him when I was in New York and I was like why do I have this sudden anxiety I'm like oh my god it's your voice oh yeah like that's how great yeah that's how crazy it is but I've started to rewatch and I
Starting point is 00:55:45 can I mean I can watch it and still I do get a little bit of anxiety and I don't use that term lately like I actually do get like my chest starts tightening up but I just pretend it never happened to me because it's such a whirlwind and it's so crazy that I actually was the bachelor like I still can't wrap my head around that that I kind of like separated I'm like that one I didn't go through that yeah just living a lie um okay another can you not for me is a lip sense and the rodent fields Rodan and field Rodan field
Starting point is 00:56:18 oh yeah they fill your oh love your melon too love love love the cause but they oh yeah oh I have 500 requests
Starting point is 00:56:26 every college reaches out and we always do the same one because we do it for where Sean's from Keen State where he's from where he went to college
Starting point is 00:56:34 and so we always do it for Keen State so I'm like every I'm like oh my gosh love the idea love the cause obsessed but like that's a lot
Starting point is 00:56:43 of emails and inbox and that same thing. What is it, Rodan and Fields? And the lip sense, because I always wear bright lips and people are like, have you heard of this? And I'm like, yes, thousands and thousands of times in my Instagram DMs, can you not? Can you not? I do not want lipstick to stay on for 12 hours.
Starting point is 00:56:59 I just don't. That's very unreasonable. I have used it, to be honest. And did you like it? It smells weird. Oh, it's in, Russ. When I'm putting it on, how does it sound? Because you can't.
Starting point is 00:57:11 It's gross. She's like breathing out of the side of the mouth. close your mouth oh like you can't rub it oh so you're like yeah like you get to breathe it's like in your spit it turns to do a heavy mouth breather yeah it's so gross but i did it i think first time i did it was an award show something that i was like oh i can't go check right so that was nice but it is it is intense that it doesn't really come off well and i just feel like the people selling it are very pushy yeah i'm sorry to all my listeners if you sell it i'm really sorry but can you just not can you not can you not i do like it
Starting point is 00:57:44 but can you not yeah yeah exactly we're so we're also like positive and like kind we're like we don't want to hurt anybody's feelings and you guys are very special but can you not okay so this is the one I tweeted I saw it this morning I'm like this one is genuinely like can you not she said hey I'm a big follow of yours this is the whole backhanded compliment thing I'm a big follower of yours but I just wanted to say it was nice to see you quote unquote working at making bath bombs because I went to Lush. Yes. Lush Cosmetics Head Office and I made bath bombs.
Starting point is 00:58:21 And she's like, but do you even work? Will you ever work? I listen to your podcast, but I just wish you worked. Okay? Thanks. Bye. No. Bye.
Starting point is 00:58:30 Bye to you. Can you not? What difference does it make if you work or not? Podcast is working. Yeah. That is so true. You know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:39 It's fun work, so it doesn't necessarily. It doesn't feel like work, but that doesn't mean I don't. don't get paid yeah right exactly yeah just because yeah just because you're not going into an insurance company and right taking phone calls just because I get to drink at 9 30 in the morning I have a candy not hey I have a cany not it's not necessarily my DMs but the like so are you just on the are you just like his wife so are you just are you just arm candy are you you just his wife and I'm like can you not I want to see you survive just going on to her like just living in a bus that that's that is an
Starting point is 00:59:13 accomplishment and itself that is i hate when people downplay the so you just do that like even even in the interviews like it must be like oh it's oh it's russle and his wife like did it do you feel that when you're like i do so much for this totally but honestly the music video has changed that so much it's like every radio station went to like oh my god your wife shot the video like it's incredible oh my gosh but then they think i did it on an iPhone somewhere this like went around like I couldn't possibly be a professional right like right right right and I'm like excuse me you're like no no I know what I'm doing yes I shot it edited it started it that's so great things people good for you yeah can you not yeah that's a good one
Starting point is 00:59:56 can you not can you not it's a real can you not there we go and that's it for our game of can you not wow right yep I'm a I'm a songwritery that's fine I don't know if you know, but I'm a songwriter. That was really good, though. I need a little jingle. Yeah. Ooh. I do need a jingle because, like, there's a little voiceover that goes,
Starting point is 01:00:21 can you not? But I need a jingle. Okay. Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. Can you not? Yeah. No. Perfect.
Starting point is 01:00:28 Can you not? Explosions. Yeah. Always ends. When in doubt, when in doubt, end with explosions. That's like growing up I was in musical theater and I was a singer and a dancer
Starting point is 01:00:46 and I was just like a performer and my mom was also she's a professional ballerina and she's a choreographer and she's just like very talented in that world and so she was always the choreographer for the musicals that I was in
Starting point is 01:00:57 and her favorite move in the world was the collapse at the end like a big dance number and you're like da-da-da-da-ba-da boom you collapse so that's what that just reminded me of explosion
Starting point is 01:01:10 You should make her off the vine one, too. Russell Deified. Oh, okay. It'll come to me. You just looked at my picture on the wall. It's so cute. This is what everyone sees. It's so cute.
Starting point is 01:01:22 I love that picture. Oh, thanks. Also, that glass. Is it like bulbous on the bottom? Extra bulbous? Okay, so there's a wine store in Nashville on, it's in East Nashville, and it's right across from battered and fried. Okay.
Starting point is 01:01:38 Yeah, the wine merchant. Yes. What is, is it East Nashville? Not Eastman. Oh, whatever. Sounds like something it would be called. Tight. But that's, they sell those wine glasses there if you.
Starting point is 01:01:50 That's interesting. Extra bulbous, yeah. Yeah, that'd be a good squirrel. Oh, you need to show her your break. Oh, yeah. Oh, I was told, wait, can I record this? I was told. But you need more champagne.
Starting point is 01:01:59 Is it all gone? No. Is it all gone? Oh, yeah. That's plenty. Okay. So, okay. So, okay.
Starting point is 01:02:06 You can film it, yeah. Because I have to film it because then I can. put this out as the teaser yeah the teaser okay so where this came from i don't honestly don't know it's kind of like you can use it in many situations like oh this is an awkward situation or like if people get too snooty on wine like if they're like da-da-da-da so when like a sommelier comes up or whatever because people people can get wine snobby and so this is how i diffuse the situation you know you give it a little swirl as if it was red wine you smell oh wow oh oh Wow. That's the hashtag wine glass challenge.
Starting point is 01:02:46 That is incredible. Yeah, wine glass challenge. Is that one bigger? Oh, yeah. Well, yeah, because that's what I was, okay, I'm not going to lie. That's why I tried to hand him the glass at the beginning of this podcast. I tried to hand, I had Russell the glass with the stem because I was going to eventually make you do this party trick if we got there. Challenge accepted.
Starting point is 01:03:05 And, oh, I'm just really, really impressed. Yeah, this is definitely the widest. one in the room, too. It's a huge glass. Huge. I can't wait for the people to see because I know my listeners and I know that they'll be like, wow. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:18 So if anyone is up to the challenge, hashtag wine glass challenge. Like he does it when they come with the bottle and they're like, how is it taste? You know, like they're paying attention to you. Like they give you the taste and he swirls and does and then he swallows the glass lips around. And the waiters are like, ah. If I was ever serving you and you did that, I would just start bowing. I would bow down and I would be like, good job, sir. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:46 Well, like, we were at, so a bunch of, it was a radio convention here in Nashville. So all the big dogs in country radio were in town. And so we went to this really nice dinner and sat down and ordered like great wine and like the head of my label is like literally straight across from me. I was like, guys, just want to raise a toast and, you know, thanks all for being here. All right, cheers, drink up. And then I did it. And do people love it?
Starting point is 01:04:15 Oh, they loved it. Oh, yeah. Loved it. Aid it up. Because, like, who? Nobody does that. No one. I'll tell you who does.
Starting point is 01:04:21 Russell Dickerson. Boom. Yeah, he does. That's incredible. That's one of my favorite things I've ever seen. This is delicious. Is it good? Yeah, I like it.
Starting point is 01:04:31 We normally buy the black, fresh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, the matte black one? Totally know what you're talking about. Fresh, quish, quush, quush. Oh, mm-hmm. I'm going to go look that up, but no. That along with your interview room at Graham. But I'm Googling when I get home.
Starting point is 01:04:45 This is, it's bright sellers, but it's, they, this is an actual ad. Go ahead. We take a brief pause from the podcast. We usually do this at the beginning of the podcast, so I don't even know. I'm so confused. I'm throwing off. But it's, they send you four different bottles of whatever you like each month. Full bottle?
Starting point is 01:05:00 One, two, three. Sorry, four full bottles. Four. Full bottles. Cool. Yeah, a month. Full bottles. Full bottles.

Yeah. so a couple on my phone and a couple because it was Facebook and Twitter so I'm going to have to go back and forth here first question it's for both of you and Nina don't know her last name but she asks what movie could you guys watch over and over and never get tired of East Ventura probably my girl Nina dumb and dumber dumb and dumber yeah I have I can reenact every 437 yeah same same same what about you how to lose a guy in 10 days? A great movie. Or Runaway Bride. Oh, I haven't watched it in a while. Oh, Richard Gear.
Starting point is 01:07:08 Richard Gear, always. Always. You're like Julia. We're like Richard Gear. Julia, too, though. That one's funny. I like the funny rom-coms. I guess all rom-coms are funny, but.
Starting point is 01:07:19 Yeah. No, I'm picking up what you put in. Shelby T. Wants to know if you built a tree house, what would it look like? And what would be in it? Speaking of tree house that we talked about Valentine's Day, Just kidding. What would it be like, oh, I love tree houses.
Starting point is 01:07:38 Yeah. They're like what dreams are made of. Yeah. What would it be like? I don't know, somewhere that I could just sleep, play guitar, hang out. Yeah. Just a little sanctuary. Just peace and quiet.
Starting point is 01:07:51 Yeah, I hear that. I'm going to go build a tree house. Would it be fancy or like? No. No. You've actually talked about this. Like behind our house, there's like a bunch of woods. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 01:08:00 It came up in an ad on my Instagram. feed that you I'm just kidding I don't know there's like a bunch of woods you need a tree house and he's like he's legitimately been like
Starting point is 01:08:09 I kind of want to just even like a deer stand vibe just that I can go out there and just read if I want to that's what he said oh that's sweet yeah yeah peaceful yeah
Starting point is 01:08:17 tree houses he's an outdoors tree house subscription service popped up on your answer yeah you just wait for I'm going to send you guys screenshots Maris 207 lover
Starting point is 01:08:28 we love Maris 200 if it was 208 Nope, 207. Don't get too ambitious. Yes, come on. An odd number. Very ballsy. She said, I can't wait.
Starting point is 01:08:39 I just want to ask Kaylee how she can control herself from asking Russell listening yours to her all the time. I actually saw that one. Yeah. And I laughed and I said to Russell's like, little does she know. I literally hear it every night. Like every night, every show. Oh, yeah. So I really do hear it all the time.
Starting point is 01:08:55 Yeah, you look, I don't need it. I'm not over it. I'm definitely not over it. No one will ever be over it. And it's really cute. He always like, are usually. if he has enough time before he sings it he like gives me a little shout out
Starting point is 01:09:05 oh it's real because you're the inspiration it's very cute he's very yeah it's always fun during the show to find her too I have to find where she's where she's standing where's Waldo but it's always Kaylee oh that's fun that's a fun game you're like that's okay it's fine I guess it's no candy land
Starting point is 01:09:22 yeah right mine is bejuled that's my weakness Bethany she said love love coffee with Kaylee They will thrive on the pod. So they said, since you guys are a couple goals, who is your relationship inspiration? Oh my gosh, I have it. Yes.
Starting point is 01:09:42 The guy I need to look up his name. And let me just say it. Jeffrey. Geoffrey. He's on Instagram. Guys, this is going to blow your mind. Geoffrey. He's like 90.
Starting point is 01:09:54 Walker. Jeffrey Walker. It's the G-E-O-F-F-R-E-I. Yeah. It's like, is that Geoffrey or is it Jeffrey? I don't know. But he and his wife, he's like, he's 90, and they live in England, and he, all he does is post videos of him, like, walking in the garden or like, nope, nope, I got to follow. This is his.
Starting point is 01:10:16 I'm just going to an eye launching club, and we've all got to wear a hat representing Valentine's Day. Oh, like, I'm in love. It said this is our 60, this is our 68th Valentine's. day i can't i actually cannot with these people like he like he just walks around like his garden outside and he's like looking at the garden today oh great accent like wrote walk down to the walk down to the river today and it was about three and a half kilometers he's really good at an australian he's like three and a half kilometers over there he's good at that aggressive the only thing i can say and like it's like oh that's so good so sorry oh well it's like it's like it's like
Starting point is 01:11:01 An R. So good. Sorry. Yeah, there you go. Okay. Okay, I feel better about it now. Yes, so they are hashtag relationship goals. Absolutely. They're just so cute.
Starting point is 01:11:10 And what is coffee with Caleb? Is this like a... So it started, radio tour was like when I couldn't necessarily go with him all the time because we're a companion pass on Southwest, which is life changing. Yeah. But some of the flights were random places and then we'd have to pay for my flight. So he makes coffee every morning. This is also in his credit every single morning.
Starting point is 01:11:29 I'll wake up to coffee. It's the cutest thing. So when he was gone, but he's boozy about his coffee. Like, it's all, like, freshly roasted, and we do, like, subscription fresh coffee. He makes chemics, like, the pour over thing. Well, I had never done it. And so he was gone, and one day I was like, this is going to probably be hilarious. I'm going to just film it.
Starting point is 01:11:51 Yeah. And I did, like, a time lapse or so, no, a real video of me trying to do it. And I just, like, opened the filter totally wrong. Like, it was disaster. and it just kind of came out of nowhere. And then I would just sit and talk about stuff because I was bored and had no one to talk to you because I was home alone.
Starting point is 01:12:09 It usually stems from when he's gone. Like he's never there when I make coffee with Kaylee. Okay, okay. And I like need someone to talk to you, so I just talk to my phone. As we all do. Yeah, yeah. So it's, that's where it came from.
Starting point is 01:12:21 And then it turned into like some people would ask questions. I would see in the messages or like talk on specific things. Oh, that's cool. I like that. It's kind of like, it's kind of like, the whole like sitting in the corner on a couch thing but with everyone totally you are like you're very approachable
Starting point is 01:12:37 and I find that even like across like I watched a couple of your Instagram stories and I'm like I can't wait to talk to her like you do have that vibe where people are just yeah absolutely and literally she's done coffee with you've literally done like five yeah really honestly haven't done it's not like
Starting point is 01:12:53 no she's not like maybe it's 10 I thought I was like she doesn't have a theme song or yeah and this is like since February But everyone, you have the right guy to come up with a theme song. I'll go to shows and they give me mugs that say coffee with Kaylee. What? And I'm like, what?
Starting point is 01:13:09 It's a thing. That just shows you that the success that could come from coffee with Kaylee, you need to make this your empire. I know. I know. I mean, honestly, you've probably done seven. Yeah, I really haven't done that many. And it's just Instagram stories. But yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:20 That's amazing. Coffee with Kaylee. I'm into it. Coffee with Kaylee. There we go. There it is. The jingle master. Oh, God.

Starting point is 01:16:35 Socials at Russell E.D. Okay. Russelled. Getting rustled. Oh. Two L's. If you spell one L
Starting point is 01:16:43 I will. That's a can you not. Ooh. That's my freaking Can you not. Russell with one L. Is that even a thing? Well, Russell sprouts is one L.
Starting point is 01:16:53 So people associate. Oh, unfortunate. Yes. Think of things. I think of having the name, Caitlin. They spell it like 80 different ways. Oh, and Kaylee.
Starting point is 01:17:03 Oh, yeah, you do you do a word? Totally. Starbucks. Oh, it's a thing. Do you say, when you go up to Starbucks, are you like, that's two L's? I just say Russ. Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:11 I say, and they put RU.S. Yeah. So many, like, man. God bless Starbucks. That just shows your, like, your being. Like, the thing that pisses you off is two L's. Spelling Russ with two Ls. It is.
Starting point is 01:17:26 Oh, gosh. Yeah. Mine's Kaylee, like, Bailey's in. Cream Kaye K-A-I-L-E-Y K-L-E-Y K-L-E-Y
