I'm Caitlin Bristow. Your session is now starting.
All right, everybody, welcome to a little change of events here on grape therapy.
We're doing a little spillage session, if you will.
Kind of something that I think people and listeners love to do is get together over some
wine, some hot goss about the latest entertainment, celebrity news.
like there's always so much going on and we see more and more of it all the time from social
media. So I wanted to give the people kind of what they want. So I am going to do a pop
culture episode today with our Spillage session queen, Lex Nico. So Lex is a digital pop culture
personality. She's going to be our resident spillage session co-host. I feel like we can mix these in
every once in a while to keep you guys informed and talk about some things pop culture. Lex has worked
with Betches Media and E and The Rundown, and she's been featured on Good Morning America,
and on air with Ryan Seacrest and Vogue Business. She crushes it. In the episode today,
we touch on Gypsy Rose, all that's going on with her, Morgan Wallin. What a shame.
We talk about Reese Witherspoon making a legally blonde spin-off. We talk about Alex Cooper hosting
the Olympics, not a big deal. And we also talk about Ila Fisher, Sasha Barron Cohen's
divorced, how they announced it, and got a little bit into female basketball, which is now
holding a special place in my heart. So let's bring her in. Hi, thank you for having me. I'm so
excited to get started. Hey, everybody's freaking me out. So the solar eclipse is apparently happening
like now. I don't know if like is this is the sun going to be going, like is the moon going
to cross the sun while we're on the podcast? Are we all going somewhere? Like, where's your take
on that? This is truly what I was saying. So first of all, I like, I can see my neighbors across the way and
The woman keeps coming out of her front door with these glasses and looking up at the sun.
And I'm living in fear that I'm going to witness a human being go blind in real time because
she's like lifting the glasses and putting them on.
And I'm like, just keep the glasses on.
Oh my gosh.
But I'm like, is it going to go like apocalyptic dark at any point?
Because I've been waiting.
I'm looking.
There's direct sunlight right here in L.A.
Okay.
So you're on Pacific Time.
I'm on Central Time.
I don't like this guy in Nashville right now.
It looks eerie and scary.
And then there's like something odd when I walked the dogs this morning.
It just felt off.
And I saw a couple TikToks where they're like, if you guys are freaking out about the eclipse, good, you should.
And I was like, what?
Why?
Wait, why?
Did they go into detail?
Are there aliens coming?
Because I could be down with that.
I'm not mad if the, I actually think aliens are here to like help us.
So I would like, that would be nice if we meet them today.
Oh, she's back.
She's standing.
So I think something's happening
because, oh, she's putting the glasses behind her ear.
Oh, no, I'm worried about that.
I feel like a sportscaster right now.
Oh, no, she's going back inside.
No, she's looking with her regular glasses.
Okay.
Listen, I don't know.
Caitlin, you tell me this because truthfully,
I had a bunch of friends in the group chat this morning being like,
oh, I'm so excited for the eclipse.
I'm going to go to the rooftop.
I went to Warby Parker and got the glasses.
I was like, there's not one part of me that wants to risk
looking directly at the sun today.
No, I'd rather not.
I feel like me and the dogs are just going to sit inside, and I feel like it's going to happen during this podcast, and it'll be 10 seconds, and then we'll all move on with life.
And I'm just like, everybody's like, are you feeling exhausted? Are you feeling a certain way? And usually I am so connected to like the moon and I get my periods around a full moon. And all this stuff happens. And it's like, oh, of course, it's this and this and this. But for some reason with this eclipse, I'm just like, I don't feel anything.
Okay, but maybe that's a part of it. You know, like a lot of this eclipse, they were saying it's the solar eclipse.
tied in with a full moon in Aries or a new moon in Ares. And basically it's like this whole
thing of like this final and firm acceptance of whatever you were holding onto from the past.
It's like a great time to sort of let go. And you really feel like you're done with whatever
it is that you are trying to resolve for in that chapter and phase of your life. So maybe
you're not feeling anything because you're genuinely just like, I'm over it. Wait. I love this theory.
because I have been hanging on to a lot of, like, bitterness and certain things.
And just honestly, in the last week, wait, I just got full body chills.
Even when I was driving in my car today, I think I said out loud, I think I'm over it.
Yes, that is a huge part of the eclipse today and everything happening with the moon cycle.
So maybe that is why, like, yes, some people are feeling anxious or they're not sleeping well
with the moon and things like that.
But, like, maybe you are just, like, cycle complete.
Oh my gosh.
I have arrived.
Like, let's, I am a, I am a cleansed queen.
You are.
You're healed.
I always wondered what it would feel like to arrive at the destination of feeling healed.
I am here and I am here.
And are you like, it feels pretty good.
You're like, it feels like nothing.
I just feel like content.
It's not that exciting.
Don't strive for it.
That is probably a better place to be.
Oh, my God.
That's so interesting.
I wonder, I'm going to put like a pull up.
there, see what people are getting after the whole eclipse. Like, what are they feeling tomorrow?
I'm so curious. I always wondered, too, if we're like supposed to be doing rituals during this
time? Or is this like, don't do it? It's like, what is the move? I don't know. You're like,
I'm just here for the goss. I don't know. This one, no, I am like a certified woo-woo girl.
I should also tell you that. Like, we are just getting to know one another. But like, yes,
I love the pop culture entertainment news. But like, if you need a crystal, I got one for you. Like,
I got it all. And yes, with this sort of solar eclipse and everything, you're, you know, so much of
these chapters are about self-reflection and it's like thought journal and write, you know,
what you feel has been holding you back either romantically, professionally, personally. And it's
really about writing that out and learning to deal and let go of it. So letting it flow and letting
it come out kind of helps move along that feeling of putting a close to that page or that chapter
during your life. And a lot of this right now with the eclipse and the moon, they're talking about
how, you know, you can call in new love. A lot of it is about new love, fertility. Like if you want
money, a new job, things like that, it's a lot of newness. Because this time and everything
happening together, you can call in and manifest those things into your life. So what you're saying is
Gypsy Rose picked the right time to get a new nose. She really did. Should we get into it? Are you
ready to get into some spillage. I'm so excited. I'm so excited because I'm always fascinated by
pop culture, but I'm never, I'm never fully in. Like, I'll get down rabbit holes on TikTok or
all of it, but I'm never fully knowledgeable about pop culture. That's why I love having people
come on and talk about this thing on the podcast. I'm so excited because you know all like the hot
takes and you know the ins and outs of all the like gossip. And I'm just so intrigued by it. And I love
hearing about it because, I mean, the Gypsy Rose thing fascinates me. I want to know your take
because so many people are like, why are we giving this murderer a platform? And then other people
are like, queen. Okay, I have so many thoughts on Miss Gypsy Rose. And let's give people some context.
So Gypsy Rose obviously had come out of jail. She was married to this man, Ryan. And then a
couple of weeks back, she announced that she was divorcing Ryan, her husband, that she was married to in
jail. And she's now back with an ex-fiancee hanging out. His name's Kevin Urker. But they're not,
they're just hanging out, holding hands, smoking cigs, getting matching wolf tattoos, but they're
not romantically involved. That comes from her mouth? That came from her mouth and his. They've been going
like live on his socials. They're filming a show together. Like she had a docu-series come out on Lifetime.
There was a part one that was released when she just freshly got out of jail. And they're
filming a part two to it now. So this is all being documented.
and recorded. But she turned off all of her social media. So we don't know more than what she's
like telling TMZ when they're going live on like his Instagram and things like that. And one of the
things that she did exclusively share with TMZ is that she got this new nose. So I don't know. I'm going to
give you a hot take here and you tell me what you think. Okay. I kind of love this for her. And I'm going to
tell you why. Because when she first got out of jail and she was on social media and doing the
get ready with me for my Good Morning America or whatever, I was like, this is concerning.
Like people are throwing her in the wind. And then she was like, I need to take a step back, delete
social media. She's contractually obligated to do the lifetime. But I think this is just a person that
we are watching in a Truman show way that is very stunted in their development. That is growing
and making mistakes in front of us, but, like, I don't think she is a menace to society.
Right. So I'm happy that she gets to do all of these things. I hear what you're saying because
she was already stunted in her growth because her mom kept her feeling sick. And she obviously
never grew or, like, I just feel like she's, like you say, stunted. So then she gets in jail because
she ends up. So she killed her mom? Yes. So she was an accessory to the murder because her boyfriend
at the time, which I also got to talk about as a single girl, how is Gypsy getting all these
man? I'm like, I need her to be a matchmaker. That's a separate conversation. But her boyfriend at the
time came into their home, her internet boyfriend, attacked her mother. She was aware of it. So she was
an accessory, which is why she went to jail as well. Okay. So her mom completely abused her, made her
believe she was sick. Her internet boyfriend did the murder. She was an accessory. She did her time
in jail. Now she's trying to live in a public eye and we're all kind of talking about it and making
her somewhat of a star. And she's just trying to navigate that all in front of us. And are we still
worried about her? Is she just like thriving right now? I, okay. And this is where I think, this is where I have
a problem with my own hot tape. Because I'm like, the logical me is like, she needs to go away and go to
therapy and heal and really work on herself. But then I'm also a very literal person. And I'm
like, she wouldn't escape this regardless. So I, you know, let her, you know, getting a nose job is not
the worst thing. If she wants to divorce her husband and get matching tattoos, like these are not
very trivial things. I would rather her be living in this world than taking it to extremes. And I hope that
we don't get there, I think is what I'm hoping. So wait, who is her ex-fiance? Was this before she
went to jail? This was while she was in jail and she had broken up with him and gotten married to this
Ryan Anderson character. And now she's reconciled with her ex-fiancee Kevin Urker. And she says that
they're hanging out, but it's not romantic. So she was dating him from jail. They broke up. She
started dating her soon to be husband, Ryan. They got married while she was in jail. She got out of
jail. Her and Ryan broke up. And then now she's back to hanging out with Kevin. So,
wow. The girl can get it. I'm like proud of you. Truly. And she was saying like I saw all these
things about how she was saying the D was fire. Yes. I know. Girl is like I really do get
confused, kind of like you where part of me is rooting for her. And part of me is like,
what are we celebrating here? Like who is this person and why are we making her a star?
Exactly. It's like, should we be glorified?
this person as queen, as mother, as people say? Or should we just be like, okay, this happened? Yes,
it was a public spectacle, but let's not give it the attention. There's so many other things
and people we could give attention to. And that's the weird beauty of pop cultures. Like, we don't get to
decide that. Somehow it just happens one day. Wait, that's so true. How, like, it feels like nowadays
celebrities aren't like, like, we're not celebrities for, like, think about Angelina Jolie, like a
true celebrity, a master of her craft, actress of our generation, like all these things.
Accolades upon accolades.
Yes. And then there's Gypsy Rose who like is getting just as much attention. And it's really
bizarre. And it's just a bizarre. It's really bizarre. It's very bizarre. It was like I don't know
if you remember. I don't know if you even saw this, but this was like a few months back,
Risa Tisa. It was like a TikTok series of who the F did I marry. Yes. And then she,
She did that in one weekend.
She got like a million followers on TikTok, and she was signed by CIA.
I was like, are we just doing this now?
Which I love because I was like, she was so good.
And she was a storyteller.
She was a storyteller.
She made all this content.
It took up a lot of her time, I'm sure.
And then she didn't get any money from TikTok.
TikTok's just like gaining from this.
She wasn't getting it.
So I'm glad she signed with someone.
But this is what we're saying.
It's like in one weekend, your life can change.
And is it really going to change TBD?
what's going to happen with Risa? Who knows? But like the fact that there is that possibility is what's so
fascinating about this time of pop culture and celebrity. Even cancel culture. Like people can make a
comeback now. Look at Morgan Wallen. The guy dropped the N-word was so inappropriate and had so
many people was like shunned in the country community. Then had the biggest album of all time,
the most listened to like just complete turnaround success story. He goes now and throws a
chair off a six-story of a bar in Nashville could have killed somebody because he was drunk
and making bad choices. Are we just going to keep letting him get away with these things?
So this is another interesting story because this happened. Like I woke up this morning to this
news and I was just like, I was shocked but not surprised because Morgan was at Chiefs Bar,
which is in Nashville. You would know more. I'm not, I've never been to Nashville. So I got to make it
out there. But like he threw a chair off the sixth floor of this bar. And
what happened, the only reason he got caught was because the chair fell in front of a group of
police officers standing on the street. So they were on the sidewalk. The chair fell in front of
them. Thank God it didn't injure anybody. But they went and it was Morgan Wallen who whipped it out
of this bar. And I don't know if you saw any of the images from the reports, but he's in the back
of a cop car and he is unwell. He's screaming, like unhinged. He looks really agitated. And you're right.
It's like at this point, if this is my question, if there weren't, if it was not police officers that had witnessed this, would he have gotten away with this?
Would his team have tried to cover it out?
Right.
Because there have been a few rumors about them covering things up while he's been on tour.
So I don't know.
It's all just always at the end of the day sad because obviously he has a very unhealthy relationship with alcohol.
Some people get very angry.
He clearly seems like he's one of those people.
he makes mistakes how many mistakes do you make until someone gets hurt somebody could have easily
gotten killed and it's such a waste of just like pure talent and i just i don't know i know he was
sober for a minute there but i don't know if he went to rehab i i don't know but he clearly you know
needs some help and it's just so sad to me at this point because you're like you're a huge star so
many people look up to you and it made me so bummed out to read some comments because people were
really like standing behind him like majority of people weren't but some people were like well he didn't
hurt anybody so what's the big deal it's like are you kidding me he's he didn't hurt me i know he does
and i just feel like yeah it was eric church's bar called chiefs and yeah that's like six floors
up to throw a chair you could have killed somebody i know and can you paint a picture of us like
i don't know if you've been there or if you've seen it like is it the type of like establishment if
you will where it's like yes it's six floors up but you know there's a line and
typically out the street if it's busy or people could have very easily been standing in the street
for this to happen. I'm shocked that it didn't hit anybody. The streets of like all those honky
tons, Broadway bars, they're always, always busy. Even if it's like a Monday night, it's, it's where
it goes as tourists. And I'm shocked that it didn't hit anybody. And the fact that it landed in front
of policemen is like no coinkie ink in my eyes. I was like, he just needed to, something needs.
to happen where he needs to be accountable for all of these mistakes.
Like I, I agree.
And I get lit, okay, at my shows.
People give me a hard time for how much I drink.
And I'm like, I get, but I'm not doing anything.
Like, I'm literally the happiest person.
I'm crowds loving on people.
And then I put my little happy ass to bed.
I just get an Uber and I put myself to bed.
And that's, you know.
Case close.
Yeah, boom, boom.
It's good.
And I'm like, then there's people like that that just.
What kind of a little drunk are you? I'm like a happy drunk and then I'm like sleepy bear drunk.
That is. I'm like, I'm happy and then I want a little snack and I just want to go to bed.
That is exactly who I am. Like, especially on tour, I think I sometimes I have to really like step back and look at how I break alcohol because it is part of my brand too.
I'm like a business owner of a wine company. So sometimes I'm like it might look even worse than it actually is.
Like I'm like I'm on tour and have a wine label. Like I'm obviously promoting it in all the videos.
I sit there and have wine and talk to guests, but like on the clips I'm promoting, it's
like very much party, wine, blah, but if you're there, everyone's like, oh boy, Caitlin's right
behind Morgan.
That's how I feel like people treat me sometimes like, that's her next.
No.
But I'm the same way.
I just, I love some wine, once in a blue moon, maybe a shot at a snack and put me to bed.
Oh, exactly.
And I think that's the difference.
And the most important thing to me with this Morgan Wall and thing, because there were these rumors, he was on tour in the last year.
And there were a ton of times where he was like a no show for some of his shows.
And they were saying that he was sick and exhaustion and things like that.
And allegedly he was back to having some struggles with his alcoholism.
And I think there was a period where they actually canceled or paused the tour and they had sent him briefly back to rehab.
This is all alleged.
But that is sort of what the streets are saying.
And I think now I'm more inclined to believe that, given what we've seen happen.
Like it's very clear that he's broken his sobriety, unfortunately.
And like you said, at this point, nobody, in my opinion, needs to sit here and drag Morgan Wallen.
Like, he needs to go get help.
It's sad.
Yeah, it is sad.
That's bottom line always.
With these kinds of things, it's just a lot of times it does boil down to something,
just being sad and somebody fighting some demons.
And, you know, things can get too far.
And somebody gets hurt.
I always think of the Sam Hunt.
He had a DD.
He was wasted behind the wheel and really could have hurt somebody.
And I do think that hitting rock bottom for a lot of people is what turns the beat around.
But at the same time, like, that's a scary point to get to where other people could get hurt.
You can have your own rock bottom.
I know.
Put your, like, other people's lives behind a wheel, like, of you being wasted or you're throwing chairs off bars.
And, like, it just gets concerning and sad.
Exactly.
Thoughts and prayers. T's and P's to Morgan Wallen.
T's and peas. He needs it.
We're thinking of you, buddy. We're rooting for you. And you know what?
The album was really great. I hope that he can get it back together. He's such a good artist.
Pure talent. He's pure talent and he's fighting some demons and he needs help. And I'll tell you who doesn't need help,
Reese Witherspoon, the queen. I'm obsessed with her. I'm like, it's something that I go to sleep thinking about at night is somehow working with her because she's in Nashville.
and I just, one of my girlfriends does her makeup and just says, oh, yes.
She's just hardworking, talented, sweet, incredible human.
Talented, brilliant, amazing.
You've never been done before.
You need.
Yes, all of the things.
And the fact that she's doing a legally blonde spin-off with the gossip.
I can't even handle, like, my whole body just got happy.
I'm the same way.
I'm so excited for this one because it's like I am a huge, I, like, so impressed by
we talked about like, you know, real talent, actors, like, she is just like a go-getter
because even, you know, not only her acting and producing, but her book club, she's like
a businesswoman. She is so on point. She is a celebrity that I'm like, she's a, you know,
I don't know if she's like a Gen X or a boomer. I think she's a Gen X, but like she has been
able to transcend. Like she's always on the TikTok trend. She's like down with social media.
I'm like, how does she do it and keep up with it? It's so impressive.
I have a question for you with regards to the Gossip Girl, or sorry, the legally blonde
spin-off because it's being written by the Gossip Girl co-creators, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
And I'm so curious if it's going to be like a little sexier, a little edgy.
I want to know your thoughts.
And if you're down for something like that, because that's what I'm hypothesizing.
I'm so down for that, but I've got a confession.
I have never watched Gossip Girl.
I know what I know I know sex in the city and gossip girl never watched and what is the other one with
the mom and the daughter Gilmore girls more girls never never those three I've never watched
what were you doing like outside living your life like you know making memories and experiences
you weren't glued to the television what years were those like the I feel like that's when
I was in my like poor era living in a 400 square foot shit.
two boxes right here and like I was never home yeah I feel like it was probably the early early 2000s
family guy yeah okay that was where my you were occupied I was occupied with there were a lot of
family guy episodes together all the DVDs of family guy I think that's the only thing I watched
and and other than I was obsessed with you so stupid but that was I didn't yeah I was never into
maybe I should restart it now so I don't know what the vibe is of God
Awesome girl. Is it like a little sexier, edgier? Yes. Yeah. So it was very much like these high school
students living life like adults. Like they're, you know, 15 and 16 years old. They're having sex in
nightclubs going out, drinking under age, getting in trouble with the law, making mistakes,
like going on these elaborate trips because they have to get away from New York. Like it was the
rich kids of New York City, Manhattan Elite, and it was all of the mistakes that they were making
a lot of scheming and backstabbing all around trying to figure out who is Gossip Girl and why were
they targeting certain teens in the schools. Okay. Do you get an answer at the end because I don't
like starting something? Yes. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Then maybe I will, I'm going to dive into that.
There is a conclusion to it, so you will be satisfied, I hope. But you should definitely watch Gossip Girl.
Okay. First of all, you should watch sex in the city, especially now. I've tried. I've tried. Really? Like, you just aren't into it? I think, I think I need to not do season one and two. I think I need to go jump ahead because I just couldn't get. Yeah, when they got budget. I need to dive in when they had budget. But yeah, I just, I've tried and people can't believe it because they're like, you would love it. I'm like, what I don't know. I just, I never got into it. But I do like the idea of, okay, you know when people remake shows, like, for example,
Well, I hated Dumb and Dumberer, the second spin-off to Dumb and Dumb and Dumbar movie.
Such a classic.
I was obsessed with it.
And to me, it was just sad because I'm like, oh, they're older and like trying to make the same jokes.
And I'm terrified for having to feel more part two because I'm like, oh, is it just going to be like what Dumb and Dumber was?
We're legally blonde.
I'm like, if they redo it in the right way with a little more sex and edge and like I could.
totally see that doing well. Is Reese Witherspoon still going to play? No, L. Woods. No, I think it's more
of a spin-off. If I'm painting the perfect spinoff Legally Blonde series written by Gossip Girl
People, it's like she's already gotten into college or we see her like working to get in college,
but it's like the navigating of the law school. And it's the backstabbing of so what, you know,
in Legally Blonde, Selma Blair's character is like trying to backstab her.
It's like that backstabby type stuff, maybe some, you know, affairs and cheating scandals between
her and the ex-boyfriend and the TA and everything.
Like, I think that they could make it really dramatic and sexy while sticking true
to the story.
I think so, too.
That, I would watch that numerous times.
I feel like, and it's like a little, and a little touch of Barbie with the like women
empowerment thing in there.
Yes.
Yes.
Oh, yeah. I think it could be really interesting. Now, I have a question for you with, are you going to watch the Olympics?
Yes. I love watching the Olympics. What is interesting with this, so Alex Cooper is going to host a series for Peacock TV around the Paris Olympics called Watch with Alex Cooper. There's going to be special guests. She's going to share her thoughts. There's going to be like picture and picture of her watching live events and different watch parties. I think there's two things here that's interesting to point out. Number one is they're projecting they, I'm like whoever does like Nelson TV or whatever, Gen Z is not super interested in watching the Olympics. So I think that's,
this is a play to try to attract younger eyeballs to the sports. So does Alts Cooper call her daddy
really gets Gen Z like listeners? I think yes. Like she's like, I think she's like one of the number
one. It's like her and Joe Rogan on Spotify, right? Of the top performing podcasters weekly.
She has a very, very high Gen Z audience. And then they're also very much, which I think this is a bit
of a stretch. They're leaning into, she was a soccer player in college. And they're like,
she's an athlete so she gets it and I'm like okay I was a competitive I was a nationally ranked swimmer
in Canada but like I'm not hosting watch with Lex Nico but I would let's put it out there
yeah I would play soccer in in college one time so let's put it out okay so yeah that is
definitely I mean think about everything they do in the world of sports these days to get the
like I used to think so badly that the Taylor Swift thing was I asked my girlfriend who is
very much in the industry of like knowing everything in that world I was like how much
how much is the NFL paying her to get like some more and she was like no they're not and I was
like what I was shocked because I feel like you know that's that's just the way of the world these
days is getting TikTok and like the generation back into these things I think I think even
The Bachelor has had opportunities to do that. And I see them like, you know, weaning out certain people and bringing in social media people and doing the whole thing. And you got to do it. You have to. And I mean, The Bachelor has had its ups and downs lately, right? I feel like I used to be very religious about watching The Bachelor. Obviously, shout out, Caitlin. Loved your season. Love you. And but like it for a while, I wasn't watching it at all. I started watching. I did watch the Golden Bachelor. But even with, you
with Joey's season, I feel like it had higher ratings, like exponentially higher ratings
than it's had in the last few seasons because people were just like kind of over it thinking
it's this like reality TV to influence or pipeline. Nobody was really there for the right
reasons, but we got a really genuine guy as the lead here that people loved. So is this
the resurgence of The Bachelor? I don't know. Which is interesting too because then and I don't
no like this did not come from the horses well one horse trolled yeah but one horse trotted over
one horse did tell me but like the fact that two women were asked to be the bachelor at and they
chose their mental health over becoming the bachelor's honestly gives me hope for the next generation
because I'm like wow I know never I would have been like wait opportunity and some level of
fame you mental health you can suck it I didn't care at all.
And now I'm like how incredible that they were like, hey, I don't know if that's good
for my mental health.
And like, because it's scary also to be in the world of fame these days with people
can do their research, pull up anything about you.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah.
I think fans of anything will turn on you in a second or like they're either rooting
for you when you're down or they kick you when you're down.
And then they celebrate and you're up.
But if you do one thing, they're going to turn on you.
Like it's such a scary world.
So we'll do a little segment called Quick Sips here, where you just give me a little quick
download, if you will. I feel like that's your terminology. A little download of what's going on.
Oh my gosh, Caitlin, total sidebar. So I do a lot of Royal News and I was talking a lot about Kate
Middleton and what was going on. I was sharing updates as we were getting updates from like TMZ
and things like that because people were talking about it. I never once like publicly made some
accusation of like she's this or she's getting a BBL or one of those like fluffy things and people
when she came out with her cancer announcement, I made a video about it and the comments on my post
were so, they're like, you must feel awful.
Like shame on you for talking about.
And I was like, I went back and watched like the content that I made and everything.
And I was like, wait, I never, I took everything at face value that was reported to us and I talked
to it.
Like, but they were making me question what I had said.
And I was like, wait, this is like, what are they doing with my life? I know. I get. Yeah.
Because you're like, what if you do talk about like, like, for example, Gypsy Rose or someone like, where
like a fun, easy, poke fun at, or you can make functions and everybody's talking about it. So you get in on it.
And then all of a sudden something tragic happens. You're like, wait, am I part of the problem?
Yeah. I know. It's very bizarre. But I am very impressed. I didn't realize, was it Maria? Maria was another.
She's a fellow Canadian.
And is she one of the ones that chose her mental health over being the lead?
Yes.
And Daisy, I'm guessing.
Daisy's the other one.
Now, I'm not sure if that has been confirmed.
I'm pretty sure it has.
Like, I've seen it in other places where they said, like, they turned it down.
But yeah, it's, I could see that.
Yeah, I think that's, like, really, like, I respect the hell out of that.
If somebody's going to choose, like, hey, that was a lot for me.
And to be in the public eye like that is a lot.
I'm going to choose my mental health over, because we, like you said, we've been so confused
and questioning why people are going on the show.
Is it for Instagram followers and just to get brand deals and you're not there for the right
reasons, blah, blah, blah.
Well, now to hear this next generation of women come in, which I couldn't believe the level of
maturity of these women on the season.
I know.
They were also in tune with their emotions and with like themselves.
They were.
And they could converse in a way that we haven't seen on that show.
a long time. And so now to hear they're choosing mental health over being the bachelor's. I'm like,
God bless America and Canada. You're like, we're going to be a girl who's going to be okay.
I'm like so proud of everyone right now. I know. Beautiful. Oh my God. It's amazing. I'm excited. I'm
happy to hear that. I did. I know a lot of people loved Maria. I hope she at least makes a cameo
on Paradise. If she doesn't want to take the weight or the brunt of being a lead, like get your bag.
girl. You are a star in the making. That's all I've heard consistently. I agree. And I feel like they were
really needing that like a level of spice coming back into the show. Joey, like, you know,
we love the all-American men on The Bachelor. And I feel like it's controversial to have a spicy
lead for a woman. But I feel like we need it. Like we need another spice. I know. Like the Hannah Browns.
Yeah, somebody with a little sass, a little Riz. Just like you.
you were the blueprint. You really came in and you were like, I know myself and I have confidence
that I'm going to own. And we want to see that. We don't want to see as much of like a
wallflower female lead for lack of a better term. Yeah, I agree. I agree. And I didn't actually
watch the season two religiously. I like tuned in and out. Same. So Jen, next bachelorette,
I feel like the poor thing is going in with everybody being like, I wish it was someone else.
And that is so heartbreaking to me. So I want to watch her season and completely root her on and just like,
I just feel like there's always a reason they pick.
Like, think about it, Hannah Brown was sent home pretty early in the season to be the
Bachelorette and people were like her as a Bachelorette and then she blew it out of the water.
So everyone fell in love.
Yeah.
So I feel like high hope.
We're rooting for Jen and we're watching for Jen.
Yes.
Okay.
Next topic, Isla Fisher, Sasha Baron Cohen, divorce announcement.
People are like, this is a weird way to announce.
I'm like, this feels so on brand for them.
That's exactly how.
I felt. I'm like, people are like, what a wild way to announce it. I'm like, to me, you're perfect.
Like, no notes. This is incredible. So she posted an Instagram story and it's the two of them in like
tennis costumes. And she's like, after a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally
putting our rackets down. In 2023, we jointly file to end our marriage. We have always prioritized
our privacy and have been quietly working through this change. We forever share in our devotion and love for
our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family's wish for privacy. I'm just like,
you're already, the papers are signed, you're done, you're good. And now you're telling us in a
you're both comedians, like, you're telling us in the funniest, lightest way possible. And you're
doing it in an Instagram story that's going to erase in 24 hours. Great. Nobody needs to think
of here about this again. Like I absolutely loved it because I dread it when Jason and I broke up and
had to put out a statement. I was like, please, Lord God, can we just do it in a funny way?
Or can we, like, not do the typical PR statement, like, that we're both going to mutually
respect it. But we will continue to be friends. Like, I feel like they were like, we're not the same
as these PR people, Hollywood folk who do the same copy, paste, everything. We're going to, we're
funny. We're comedians. This is our humor. This is how we want to deliver the news. Exactly.
It's already been done just so, you know, so. So,
jokes on us already.
Like, they've already moved forward with it.
And now they're like, like, let's do something stupid.
And then it's just, I loved it.
I thought it was brilliant.
Me too.
I truly was just like, this feels like them or what we know of them in our parisocial
relationships.
And it just felt so.
I was like, if I ever get divorced, I hope it's like, me too.
Me too.
I'm like, if I ever go through my third public breakup, I'm going to do.
Oh, gosh, Kayla.
I'm going to be like, turns out third time is not a charm.
You heard it here first, folks.
I'm done.
That's amazing.
Wait, talk to me about Coachella.
I can't get down with festivals.
I can't.
I've never even been a nice.
I'm like, everyone says like, don't walk it to try it.
I can't get down to give me anxiety.
I don't know why.
I feel like everyone's trying to get a certain photo.
I feel like.
I totally understand the live music aspect of it.
I freaking love live music so much.
But the crowds and the Graham stuff and everything,
like I don't know why it overwhelms me so much.
I hear you loud and clear.
I mean, here's, okay, I'm going to give you a download.
Coachella, I'm with you on the live music thing.
I love music festivals because I think it's a way to go see live music, like at scale.
You can see a bunch of your favorite bands at once.
You know what I mean?
But nothing gives me more anxiety than Coachella,
because it's like you have to be dropped off in the middle of the desert and then you're just
like stuck there the whole time. And it's like, where's my food, water? What if I get to chill?
I need a sweater. Like, I can't hear it. That gives me a panic. Like, I panic for even just like
thinking of what if and I'm not going. Yes, I know. If you ever want to dabble in festival world,
you should think about going to Lollapalooza because it's literally in Chicago in, I think it's like
Grand Park or Grant Park, you can walk. Like, you walk to the festival and you walk and you're
five minutes away from a hotel and the downtown core and things like that. Like, I feel way less
anxious than doing like a Gov ball, which was always on Randall's Island. Like, you have to take
a ferry. And I'm like, no, no, no. But Coachella will be interesting. I'm curious to see who
shows up with the celebrities. There's rumors. Taylor Swift. Well, Travis Kelsey was talking about how much
She loves Coachella.
And then we recently got Taylor Swift hanging out at Barney's Beanery in West Hollywood.
Have you ever been there?
No, I've heard of it, though.
Okay.
Yes.
Our mutual friend Bailey is a big fan, big fan of Barney's.
Really?
Okay.
That's probably where I've heard of it.
Yes.
And so Taylor was just there the other night with a bunch of people.
She was just having dinner casually, like nothing crazy.
People left her alone.
And then she got up and left.
And then her security team came back and paid for the entire tab for the bar.
For the whole bar.
the bar. I'm pretty sure. Yes. I love that. And so people are now speculating. She's got a break from
her tour. Travis was talking on his podcast about wanting and loving Coachella if they're going to
show up at Coachella together because she's like besties with Lana Del Rey. Yeah, they're 100%. Do you think
Beyonce would too? Okay. I don't know. I don't know, but she just did Cowboy Carter. Yeah, exactly.
I wonder if Beyonce would show up at Stagecoach, which is after Coachella. Yeah. So there's two weekends of
Coachella and then there's stagecoach, which is the country music festival.
Yeah.
And so I wonder if she would show up then.
Yeah, you're right.
She's probably waiting for the country one.
Yes.
Taylor can have her moment there and then Beyonce can have her moment at stagecoach.
Now, Tommy, are you a Beyonce fan and have you listened to Country Carter?
I'm not like a, like, part of the beehive.
Is that what they're called?
Bayhive, yeah.
I'm not like part of the bay hive.
I'm not part of the beehive.
Clearly.
Um, but I'm like, I'm just, am blown away with her talent. I think she's absolutely insane. I'm
obsessed with the album. I love a lot of her music. I feel like she is, she's like one of the,
the thing about that I love so much about Taylor Swift is I like when people are so relatable,
even with a level of people you can't even fathom. She's still so much her quirky little self
and she's still relatable and she still seems so humble and she still goes out and gives back.
and all these things in her.
Everything she does, I just feel like is so relatable,
where Beyonce is like more like,
like you're an alien,
you're not human, you're un-containable,
and it's more of like,
that's how I see her as this,
like this level of celebrity that you can't touch.
She's untouchable.
Like, I feel like she lives the most richest lifestyle
where like,
like it's royalty.
I feel like she wakes up.
She has people to open her blinds for her.
Everything is just like,
royalty status where Taylor, I feel like she just like messes up her little bangs and goes
and makes herself a little pasta. And then like, yeah, she's just relatable. Pets her cats and
writes just Grammy award winning hits. Yes. Yes. I agree. There is this like element of she's
untouchable or she's like unreal with Beyonce that it's not accessible. And then with Taylor,
even with these things, you know, to go back to the point of was she like an industry plant for
the NFL. I thought the same thing too. I thought her and Travis were like total PR because I was
like, why is she just like out and about living her life? But then she did a lot of interviews and
she's like, I don't want to hide anymore. Like I want to just live life. And I think we're starting
to see a lot of this. So I do think we'll see her at Coachella, which will be really exciting.
And I do wonder if we'll get Beyonce on a random performance for stage coach or knowing that
she's going to announce a tour for 2025, maybe and possibly later this year, if we'll get
her headlining stagecoach of next year. And like the way that they had like Baychella.
And it's just like stagecoach is just going to be all Beyonce. You know, like nobody's going to
talk about anything else. Yeah. Okay. Well, you're the, you're the expert here. I'm just like,
you say that and I go, oh, yeah. Oh, you're like, maybe. You're like, I don't know. Well,
have to wait and see.
We'll have to wait and see. And that's what we're going to do. I love that.
The other thing I wanted to talk about quickly, this is a monumental thing that happened this
weekend. What? So I don't know if you are a sports girlie at all in any capacity.
Are you kidding me? I am obsessed with Caitlin Clark. I've been watching every game. I love
watching her interviews as well. I'm so into her being the spokesperson for women's sports. I'm
obsessed. Okay, great. So there was this game, South Carolina and Iowa this weekend. And
it was very much, I like had posted on socials because I was like, at this point, I am truly
of the vein of like, I just hope both teams have fun. Like we've already won as women with the
fact that this, I think it was 14.2 million people watched Iowa versus LSU. And this was
the highest March Madness viewership ever of all time men or women. So knowing going into this
finals, it was probably going to be exceeding that was already just amazing. But ultimately,
Caitlin Clark didn't get her, you know, Swan Song game and Iowa lost to South Carolina,
but South Carolina finished the season undefeated. They won 38 games and they lost none.
That is crazy. Unheard of. Yes, they're the 10th team in the NCAA to do that ever. I don't even
want to know how many women's teams that is versus men. And, you know, Caitlin Clark is still leaving
Iowa. She was the AP College Women's Basketball Player of the Year. She's going to have
such a decorated future in the sport. And to your point, like, nobody has been talking about
women's sports or sports in general on a mainstream level the way that we've been talking about it
because of Caitlin Clark. The last, well, second to last thing, I know you're not a huge reality
or TV person, but there is a new show that just premiered on Hulu, part of the Lisa Vanderpump
Cinematic Universe. It's called Vanderpump Villa. I've heard of this. It is about a chateau
in the south of France and the staff that runs it for Lisa Vanderpump. And it is a mess,
but it is like a chaotic good mess. It is so wild. Wait, how many episodes have aired? Three.
Oh, okay. Okay. I'd heard about this. You can get into it. There's still time. Okay.
They dropped the first three episodes last week. And people are just going feral for it.
They're loving it because it's like, it's kind of like Vanderpump rules, but it's more like below deck,
which is like another Bravo show where it's like we're seeing the behind the scenes of the staff,
but we're also seeing them interact and engage with the guests.
And then you have Lisa who comes in and does her little cameo as she does and breezes through
and then breezes out.
And I just feel like it's got legs because, you know, a lot of people, we don't see the Vanderpump
staff working in the restaurants anymore, you know, like we still love those characters
and people and we've like fallen in love with them.
but like we want to know their after chapter of working and struggling at the bar.
But now we get to see these people behind the scenes, grinding it out at work,
being dramatic with each other.
And then we get to see them engage with the guests too.
And it's really good.
So I just wanted to recommend that as a weekly watch list, put it on there.
That's good.
I always like a weekly watch list because I like TV.
I think I just never fully got into the Bravo world.
But like, knowing Katie Maloney has made me be like,
I should really, like, tune in as a friend even just to, like, see what's going on.
Just the board.
Because she, like, messaged me the other day about the reunion was telling me about it.
I'm like, I don't know what's going on.
But, like, it sounded wild to me.
And I just, I feel like I should get into it.
Yes, definitely.
If you want to get into some, you know, just like messy, lighthearted, turn your brain off
and disassociate for an hour reality TV.
Vanderpump Villa is where it is at.
Okay, good to know.
Write it down.
Last quick sip is just a quick.
Just a quick update on the Diddy situation.
I don't know if you were familiar with this, but a couple weeks back, he had the
house raids in L.A. and Miami.
Yes.
What's been really odd is we haven't really gotten an update publicly from the police
department, but what we have seen is Diddy being consistently out in Miami with his
children.
We've seen him with his, like, baby.
We've seen him with his twin daughters, his sons.
And he's doing a lot of that like PR.
I am a father first.
Get me out there with those pap shots.
We also do that these days.
I know, I know, but they still do it. And I'm curious if the next time we get together,
if there's going to be a bigger update. I'm curious too, because he makes me sick to my stomach.
And if what the rumors are are true, I feel like it's going to be a domino effect where all
these sick assholes are going to go down with him, which I hope. But it's just like hard for me
to wrap my brain around the fact that that could even be true, that this could be a thing that,
you know, because there's been so many conspiracy theories. And sometimes I get sucked into those.
And sometimes I'm like, okay, let's not take this too far.
And if this one is true and all this stuff comes out and we get these big updates,
I'm going to be so disgusted with the world of Hollywood, which already am, but even more so.
This is going to be and has the potential to be like a Harvey Weinstein level of disgust.
What was so wild was in June of last year, this psychic on YouTube, Sloan Bella, had predicted she's like a psychic medium.
and Diddy's ex-wife and baby mama, Kim Porter, had passed away.
And this psychic Sloan Bella had channeled Kim and said that this was all going to come to
a head in April of 2020.
Sure. And it all happened.
And it's happening.
Like, she predicted all of this.
So again, I will tie this all up with my woo-woo girl lens.
But like, it is wild that this is happening on Q.
And I wanted to bring this up as a quick sip just.
to give people a touch point, but, like, I don't think that this is the last we're going to
hear about this at all. And I think it's going to get messy and yucky. Oh, my gosh. Wait.
Okay, Sloan Bella. I'm going down a rabble on her right after this podcast. I'm so sorry, I've left
you with homework. No, I love. This is homework that I'm like, oh, my God, I'm obsessed with any kind
of psychic mediums, like something, people that predict things and it happens. I'm like,
shit. And then I'm like, how much money would she like charge me to tell me what my future is?
because I'd really like.
Right.
You're like, wait a minute.
How can I get in there?
I need in.
I need answers.
What's going on?
I loved this.
Yes.
Thank you.
No,
I've had so much fun.
There is like a cosmic connection being two Canadian gals in the U.S.
Yes.
You know,
and I'm so happy to be here.
Thank you so much.
I will come back anytime and talk about this.
You know,
it is my love language.
Yes.
Is a little hot goss and a glass of wine.
Oh my gosh.
Sam'sies.
We'll have to do it in person one time.
And what's nice is there's always something to talk.
about. So, you know, sometimes it can be juicier than other times. Sometimes it's fun,
lighthearted. Sometimes it's dark. Sometimes it's very juicy, but that's what's fun about the
world that you're in. So I know. I'm glad that you can keep me in the loop and I can stay
young with the rest of you guys. I'm Caitlin Bristow. Your session is now ending.
And if I'm being honest, I wouldn't mind a rating and review.
Thank you.
Thank you.
