Hey everybody.
Welcome to Off the Vine podcast.
I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow.
You're in for a treat today because my guest is an.
absolute powerhouse in the music industry. She blends country roots with hip hop. I actually did a
dance to her song a while ago, a couple years ago called Trailer Park Barbie. So good. Anyways,
you probably had Buckel Bunny stuck in your head, watched her make history at the BET Awards.
And maybe you even saw her with the Queen Be herself, Beyonce. She was on her last album and performed
with her on Christmas Day at the halftime show for the football game. The football game. I don't know who
playing but the game she just wrapped out her sold out tour and she is proving that country music
has no limits please welcome the incredibly talented badass powerhouse beautiful queen tanner adele
you know what we were talking about right before we started was how a refined palette would
order a gin martini was stuffed olives and you said something what what made you say it's it's giving
bitch it really is oh that martini you know you know what i think actually it is one of my favorite
shows is Grace and Frankie. Oh, yeah. And Grace is just drinking martinis constantly. And she means
business. Yeah. I saw Dochi did a performance where she had tape like pulling up. And everyone was
like, you can see the tape. And she was like, I know. It's the point. She goes, it's giving
and I was like, yes. It is. Same with the martini. Yeah. I like that. Where did you get your
boots? So they're just moon boots, but I stacked some lay warmers on them. Just
You're so trendy.
Extra.
Because you like make your, you have a very big DIY girl.
I am.
I am.
I don't have that bone in my body.
Really?
No.
I always want to.
Unfortunately, really love making my own stuff and it'll be two hours before a flight
that I'm sitting on my floor like making jewelry and stuff.
What?
That's so cool.
I made this, this little necklace.
You should start a little side biz.
I know.
Could be cute.
I don't have time.
You are doing the two hours before you get on a flight.
Yeah.
Because don't you do all of your own, like, clothing for shows?
Most, most, yes.
That is bananas.
I kind of, I have stylists now that I'm working with that I worked with on my tour that
honestly it took so much just like off my shoulders because I will spend hours and hours.
I'll stay up all night.
Last year we did the 2024 Next Women of Country.
And the night before I had a very specific idea of a top that I wanted to make that was like
all beads and crystals and things.
And I stayed up all.
I didn't sleep.
I stayed up all night.
Christy was there.
She knows.
I didn't sleep.
I stayed up all night just making the top.
And you had to perform the next day.
Yes.
How do you do that?
I don't know.
If I look good, I feel good.
I can't even like, wipe my own ass if I don't sleep.
I can't do it.
I just can't function as a human being doing regular human things if I don't sleep.
I know.
I know it's not good.
What is your sign?
I'm my cancer.
Oh, you are?
Yes.
When's your birthday?
July?
June 27.
Oh, June 27th.
Yes.
I'm June 19th.
Oh, my goodness.
But I'm, well, I'm a Gemini, but I'm, my moon and sun is cancer.
Wow.
Yeah.
Are you into that stuff at all?
Yeah.
Oh, you are?
Yeah.
I wish I knew more, even more about it.
I feel like you came out of the womb as like, like, just talented.
Like, I feel like you were born.
I don't know.
I mean, I think my parents have, because I'm adopted.
Yes.
So my parents have kind of said it was pretty obvious from a very young age.
I was going to ask that because I feel like you are someone that screams to me born to be doing what you're doing.
Like I feel like you are, this is where you're supposed to be.
Everything is aligned.
You are living your dream.
And your songwriting and your voice is just insane.
Thank you.
Oh, it's just, it's ridiculous.
So you grew up singing.
Like your family was like, yes, this is your path.
I was very shy.
I'm still like a little shy with new people.
But I grew up so painfully shy.
And I wouldn't even like, well, maybe when I was little, I would sing in front of them.
Yeah.
But I wouldn't like sing or play instruments.
If someone walking in the room, I would just freeze up and just wait for them to leave before I, like, did anything else.
How did you break through that?
In college, I had a vocal coach for the first time, and she kind of helped train me out of performance anxiety.
Wow.
Yeah.
That's huge.
I feel like, I think about this, too, because, like, Carrie Underwood seems like she's a very shy person, but on stage, you would never guess it because she's just this presence and, like, beast of a singer, and she's just got this, you know, this stage presence.
But in real life, a lot of people have, you know, that's, they're shy.
Very common.
I mean, it's like not normal.
And at least very common at first.
Yeah.
But it's so not normal to stand in front of 70,000 people and dance around and sing.
I wonder what it feels like to be shy.
It's not fun, you know.
But it's kind of like you're kind of mysterious.
I guess.
I'm a real homebody.
Yeah.
And so, which I think is surprising for people when I tell them that.
but also social media creates this whole, you know, look and people kind of judge you off of that.
Of course.
Yeah.
If anybody, well, I feel like if people saw my social media and met me in real life, they'd be like,
this adds up.
But a lot of people, I feel like you see on social media.
And then it's, it is, though, it's like you're an entertainer.
Yeah.
You know, so that's like a whole other level.
You step into being an entertainer and then you go back to like, what is like a day off,
like a recharge day look like for you?
If you're a homebody, like, what's your favorite thing to?
do it's funny because they're both in my bag right now what i like what's in your bag
show us you want me to show you yeah i want to see what's in your bag i don't i didn't even
bring a bag yeah yeah i love seeing what's in people's bag show us it's full it's a beautiful bag
um there's a little can of glitter spray wait a can of glitter spray eva NYC is one of my
favorite what do you put it on everything my whole body my hair all i just want to be
sparkling all the time.
Wait, that's great.
I'm not going to show this other.
Well, I guess I could show you this.
Yeah, show me.
What is it?
Some pre-rolls.
I love it.
With, this is my lighter, but it's got a little container with a hemp string on it.
So you can see it's all gone.
But it's so that it burns off the butane so that it's like a little bit healthier to be, you know, when you wind it up.
Look at that.
And, um...
What in the...
Are you kidding?
Yeah.
You carry a Nintendo Switch in your bag?
Just in case.
What do you mean?
You never know.
What do you play?
You never know when you're gonna need it.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah.
Wait, I'm so glad I asked.
It's heavy.
I'm so glad I asked that question.
You carry around a Nintendo Switch.
That's what I do on my day off.
I want one.
You should get one.
I love a game.
Nintendo Switch is the best.
I love a game.
Right now I'm playing Star Do Valley.
Oh my gosh
That one you build a little farm
You build a little farm
It's like your uncle's farm and then he dies and you take over his farm
So you have animals
I have so many pigs and I have a little horse that runs me around town
Do you live on a farm in real life?
I mean I grew up on a ranch
So I one day I will have my own space
But right now I'm just working
that's my motivation my biggest motivation is having a farm that's wait same zies yeah i i want a horse
so badly i want to rescue a horse i want a farm full of rescue dogs i just want to like oh yeah
now i want to play a nintendo switch i um okay well here's my problem chickens can be scary
i'm terrified of anything that flaps oh yeah okay it's not many things so chickens scare me because
they flap yeah i don't like that okay i don't like that like that like even the
thought of it makes me a little bit uncomfortable right now.
Really? Yeah. Yeah, I have a fear of birds, so.
Oh, yeah. That's serious. It's a thing.
Because birds are everywhere.
No, I went to walk my dogs this morning, and I don't know why the birds have decided.
It's like they smell my fear, and I just had, like, a shit ton of birds just like hanging out on my lawn.
And then when the dog came out, they were all like, frr everywhere.
And I was like, what?
Like pigeons?
No, fission.
If it were pigeons, I would not.
I would, we went on a very different route than I was planning on going on, but I would reel it back in because I heard that you used to blast Phantom of the Opera when you were little.
Yes.
Which is one of my, I saw it in the theater like probably six times.
I know every word to every song.
In the theater? Yes.
Oh, wow.
Remember when the movie came out?
That would have been insane. No.
You don't remember when the movie? You've never seen the movie?
No, I've seen the movie, but I only ever watched it at home.
Oh, I saw it in the theater.
Wow.
18 years old and I
Wait, what, which
19? I was watching
like Family Opera at home when I was like
4. Well, wait, how old are you? Maybe I was like really old.
I'm 25 this year.
Hmm, this adds up. I'm 39. I'm 40 this year.
This is making sense. Is that what made you like want to do
piano violin? Like all of the things that you... No, I was forced to do that.
You were? Oh my God. I wish my parents forced me to be a musician.
A lot of people say that and I'm like
Yes. I also think, so my mom wouldn't let me quit until I could play hymns out of the hymn book, like just sight reading because it grew up Mormon. Yeah, yes. Really religious. And so, yeah, I hated piano. I hated having to play an instrument. But once I kind of, once I realized that I, so I was a horrible sight reader. I'm not good at reading music. So I would YouTube, and I was really young, so I would YouTube the songs and then listen to them, and then I would play them. So,
So when I would go to my piano teacher
and she would ask me to play it,
I would just pretend like I was sight reading
and just play it.
Wow.
And that's when I learned that I could just play
whatever I wanted and I could hear things.
You're like, he's ding-dongs reading music.
Literally, I'm like, let me just.
And that's when I kind of started like really writing
and exploring with piano and I started to really love it.
Oh, that's so cool.
Are you, is faith still a big part of your life?
No.
No, okay.
Yeah, I'm not practicing and I'm, I'm huge.
I have a lot of friends that say they have like church trauma and certain things from that.
And that's a real thing. It's real. That is a real thing. Oh, good for you. What do you do to heal?
Writing. Yeah. A couple songs I've written have really kind of like deep picked at it.
But I don't know. It's just kind of a I've always been a cold turkey person. When I've wanted to stop something, it's like, I'm just done and it's just over.
Are you the same way with friendships? Because I am. If someone messes with me, I'm like, you're done.
don't have many friends it takes a lot for me to even make a friend now why is that i'm very shy i'm very shy
so i'm not i'm not ever like going out and trying to make friends it has to be a really like natural
organic like connection yeah and then it kind of you know forms over wait i was i don't know
how old this interview was but i was watching something where you were talking about one of your
best friends in the world who like kind of encouraged you to get into the
country space.
Yes.
Is that still your friend?
Yes.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
When I make friends...
Their family.
Immediately.
Yeah.
And they last forever unless they...
Something up.
Yeah, yeah, totally.
So, what was this person's name?
It's never my fault.
No, of course not.
I know that.
Being a Gemini.
It's not me.
I'm sorry.
No, that's a two-way street.
It's a two-way street.
But I haven't lost many friends.
I'll put it that way.
Did you see when I danced to your song?
Yes.
It was amazing.
It was great.
Oh my gosh.
I heard that and I was like, I need to do a dance to this.
And Joy Spears, who's an incredible choreographer, was like, yes, let's do it.
And so we recorded.
And then had I met you before that, though?
I think so.
The first time we met was at Adley's house.
Adleys, yes.
But then I saw you at Worth's birthday.
Yes.
And then I was at his parents' house, they're the cutest.
aren't they the best? I talked to his dad for so long and he's so cute. He's such an angel. He is so, so precious. I love that man. I just love that whole family. Kattenworth had become my family in Nashville. I love that. But yeah, I'm glad that your friend encouraged you to get into the country space because. Did you love country music growing up?
Yes. I always loved it and I just never thought, I would always joke about it.
You'd be like, you know, it would be hilarious if I did country. You know, and I would be like,
I'm just very different from a lot of people in country music.
I feel like they're not the most inclusive group of people in the country world,
but I'm glad that you can say I'm doing it anyways.
And people, like, what was that like growing up for you and being like in love with the country industry?
But I think I've heard you talk about not seeing anyone that was kind of like inspiring to you personally.
Yes.
Yes. I had to draw, you know, I guess motivation from other places.
And there's a lot of, I think a lot of things I've had to do
and kind of hoops that I've had to jump through
because I tend to make non-traditional country music,
but it's still such a big part of my foundation.
But growing up, I absolutely loved country music.
I realized as I've looked back on songs that I was writing
as like a teenager that I,
was always writing
country music. I was just
always putting it to like more pop
melodies and pop sounds
and when I wrote
my first country song
it was like I'm going to write
a country song on purpose
and I sent it to my best friend and he was like
did country? And I was like
no no way
I couldn't do that.
Secretly, your whole life
you actually had been preparing
to get into country music.
I mean, you were obsessed with Keith Urban.
You had a sexual awakening from Luke Bryan.
Yes.
Didn't we all?
Come on.
No, we didn't.
Yes.
That's my kind of night.
That cover art.
Okay, I do have, I mean, he's got a great butt.
Does he?
Yes.
I'll have to check it out next time.
Oh my gosh.
He like, where's the tightest jeans?
And like, when he sings the song,
shake it for me.
And he like turns around.
He's very.
cute on stage.
He's very cute on stage.
I got to see him live and I was like, it was at
Windy City Smoke.
I was the first time I saw him live and
he's hilarious.
Yeah, he's, he's so funny.
Really funny.
Yeah.
And he's really sweet.
Like, he's so nice.
Yeah.
I have not met him, but I've heard
that he is just such a sweetheart and I've
seen him live and I was very
entertained by him.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
He's a good time.
But I do love that you kind of blend hip hop
with country.
and I mean it makes sense
because I was listening to Luke Bryan
and he was I mean bro I feel like bro country
it like that's my kind of night
was a pop country
smash and I think
people have their own opinions about
Luke Brian's music especially men
guess what he's not for you
he's for us
get out of here
that's funny you do you really do
do it seamlessly though
like I just feel like it's a very
unique it's very natural because it's just who I
am that's cool i really like that i want to talk about your 2023 debut mixtape buckle bunny yes which was
a first for country music what made you decide to release a mixtape instead of a traditional album i mean
you even know it was a mixed tape is you're so young that's you know it was a really a collaborative
effort with me and my a andr at that time and i kind of just wanted because it was just going to be an
epit it's all it is it's an ep um those people who don't know what's an epi i don't really know
an EP is just like a
it's like a shorter album
I think an album starts being an album
Yeah it's like an album starts being an album
At like eight songs or something
Yeah
And so I did an EP
And then like a deluxe version
And called it a mixtape
Because that's really what it was
It felt like inspirations from all different things
But all cohesive
Because it all had a foundation
of country music
But I didn't want to box myself in
And if you go through that mixtape
Like I could pick any one of those songs
and go in that direction
And it doesn't really, you know, I can, I'm not boxed in.
Yeah.
I could do whatever I want after that.
Also, you've been a member of CMT's Next Women of Country.
Yes.
And you're BET's Amplified Artists of the Month.
Yes.
How does it feel to be recognized across all the different,
because you are different musics coming together,
that didn't really, that wasn't a great sentence,
but, like, how does that feel to be recognized in all these different music spaces?
It's amazing.
I feel like I am really starting to find my footing and kind of settling into who I am.
as an artist and so I mean I just got here you know I'm very new to this yeah so to have like
almost like these stepping stones that are very clear and tangible definitely keeps me motivated you
know yeah well I mean I'm probably being singing with Beyonce probably keeps you motivated definitely
helps I love that video where you're like me at a Beyonce concert and you were like crying and
then you're like me performing with Beyonce and you're just like up there standing like a
freaking queen. It's fun. It's fun. I can't even. My life has been really fun lately. Yeah, you got to
perform with Beyonce at the little halftime show on Christmas Day. Like that, my dream. I love Christmas.
I love Christmas more than your average human. And that is like the coolest thing. How did that
come to be? How did you? Because you were on her last album. Yes. Yes. How did that come to be?
I mean, when B calls you answer. Like that's how that came to.
to be, you know? I know. She called me too. Period. Just kidding. Like, how did she discover you? I have no
idea. Wow. Yeah. What an honor. I'm sure one day I'll sit down with her and ask her all my questions
about the universe. You're like, can we come to this studio, have it recorded forever so you can listen
back to it? Exactly. What was it like hearing your voice on that album for the first time?
Insane. Yeah. Insane. I think, you know, it was...
It's such a surreal moment because ever since I was little,
I've always looked after her and just been like,
one day I'll do something with Beyonce and one day I'll do something with Beyonce.
My whole life, my whole life.
In college, I was telling my vocal coach,
because she was like, what are your goals?
You know, five years from now, da-da-da.
And that was, one of them was, I want to do something with Beyonce.
And she wasn't like a huge Beyonce fan,
but anyone can recognize that level of talent and success.
and she was always so supportive of that
and she texted me on Christmas
and was like, good job, I can't believe it!
And I was like, I told you this
like three years ago that I was gonna be doing this.
I love when people have big, audacious goals
because a lot of people, I was listening to an interview,
Alana Mayer. Yes, I love her so much.
I followed her for like three years.
So you've been following her for three years.
Yes, before the Olympic, and then she made it into the Olympics.
I was, you can ask him,
I was freaking out.
Really?
I was like,
oh, my god,
how long is it?
Yes,
because she was just this like
hot buff girl
that I found on Instagram
and I was like,
she's hot.
I'm following her.
I'm obsessed with her.
I love her so much
and I'm so,
she's one of my favorite follows
and the reason I'm bringing her up,
which I'm glad we both love her
because she did an interview
and this woman that's interviewing her
was like,
do you ever get imposter syndrome?
And she was like,
no.
And the lady was like,
what?
That cripples me.
with fear sometimes that I have imposter syndrome and she was like I deserve to be here she goes I work
really hard at everything I do I've put myself out there I share what I do with the world and I believe
I deserve to be here and I was like damn that is incredible so then I was going to ask you do you get
imposter syndrome or because you're like I knew I was supposed to be here are you like this is where
I'm supposed to be I don't know I think I think if I would have experienced it I would know yeah you
would I because I don't know yet I think I just had you know like regular like I've been
overwhelmed yeah of course but like I don't know if I've experienced it exactly yeah exactly and I
haven't really talked to anyone that like has a clear I guess definition of really what it is
and and you know it's very very common very common but I know my my manager reached out to me
last year and was like, you know, you should think about getting a therapist and because
imposter syndrome's real and when things happen, they start going really, really fast and it feels
like it's not natural, it's not natural for people to just love you for being you, like,
and this many people having access to you, like, it's not normal. Yeah. And so I haven't experienced it
yet. But if I do, I'll give you a call. I'll let you know. I'll be like, this is what it is.
I love that you don't because you. But that, I love Alana saying that because maybe that,
is, I do feel like I deserve it and I feel like I'm working hard every day to maintain it.
Yeah, exactly.
So maybe I, yeah, I guess maybe it comes from a place.
I think that's so cool because I think recognizing that you are deserving is such a powerful thing.
Did you take this person's advice?
Do you go to therapy?
Because I'm obsessed.
What?
I used to do some therapy.
Oh, I love therapy.
I really am a home body.
Yeah.
Well, I do it on time.
Like, I, but that like, I don't know.
I literally do EMDR on Zoom.
See, I've done that.
Yeah.
I did a few years ago.
It changed my life.
There you go.
Changed my life.
But I don't know.
Okay.
Well, no pressure for me.
I just...
I know.
I think everyone needs therapy.
Even you, Mom.
Which is funny because...
Because one time I was telling her,
have you gone to therapy?
You could, like, really use it.
She goes...
Because I love therapy.
Yeah.
Tanner.
Not everyone needs therapy.
Mom!
Yes, they do, Queen.
She probably won't watch.
but if she does and she's been through a lot like just my fan I'm like you need like just to talk to
someone that generation too I feel like they have so much trapped trauma in there that they hold on to that
they've never even just released or talked about because it was very much don't talk about this
everything's fine and it's just like built up in just the progression of the world I'm like yes
yeah even well I guess you get to do your own kind of therapy by writing I feel like that's there
that's also a really good point too and I think I'm unfortunately like extremely
self-aware. And so having writing sessions, especially with the people that I are like family to me
and know everything about me and know all the darkness and all the light, a lot of those sessions
are like therapy sessions and I'm talking and I'm telling these stories and it's getting out
and someone's like, well, do you think that it made you feel this way because of this and then
it goes into music. So that might be why. Yeah, I could see that. But I'm like, I'm like, if I need
therapy, I'll go. You know what I mean? And I don't feel like I'm in that.
position right now. Well, I love that for you. I'm like every week counting down the hours till my
session. God. You just wrapped your first sold-out headlining tour. Yes. Congratulations.
Thank you. That is huge. What was the craziest or most memorable moment from the Buckle Bunny tour?
Ooh. Like, what are your fans like? Are they just like, are they the coolest? I feel like they're
amazing. They're amazing. They're amazing.
And every shape and size and color and age,
and we've got little babies and we've got 50-year-old moms.
Like, it's so much fun.
I feel like it's the most positive.
Like, I don't have a very toxic fan base.
Yeah, yeah.
That's great.
Yeah, like I feel like it's, yeah,
I feel like it's pretty upbeat.
And they're passionate.
Yeah?
They come dressed to the nines.
They're, yeah, they're full sparkles, hats, boots, the buckle belt or belt buckles and everything.
My favorite moment is actually, because this girl's been posting about this.
Yeah.
I re-posted it yesterday, but I saw a sign that says, my birthday, will you draw my first tattoo?
Or draw my tattoo or draw a tattoo?
I don't know.
It was her first.
And so I grabbed it out of the crowd and I sat down and I drew a cute little bunny and gave it back to her and she got it.
That's really cool.
Yes.
That's cool.
So kind of like a full circle coolness.
That's really.
That's, somebody has my signature tattooed on them.
I love that.
Where?
On their wrist, I think.
That's cute.
That's cute.
I know.
She came to one of my live podcasts and I signed and she's like, I'm going to get this tattoo.
And I was like, you sure about that?
You're like, let me try.
Just make sure it's perfect.
Yeah.
I'm like, what if I get canceled?
I guess there's such thing as like,
tattoo removal but uh but shout out to that person because that's hilarious yeah that's fun that's okay
future plans oh my gosh what can we expect from you in 2025 obviously you're you're doing more music
yes yes you're saying you might release it when did you say I'm trying I mean before summer I'm hoping
before summer with music it's like I don't know we could get there and I could be like actually
I wrote five more songs and and I want to put these on and then it pushes it back but um
Yeah, I mean, I've been working on this for a year and a half.
And, you know, last year, weirdly was like, I was doing so much, but it felt like a break.
And so 2025 is kind of pedal to the medals.
Yeah.
Now I'm like, ready to go.
What is a dream collaboration you would dream of?
Cool question.
That you would dream of.
Dream collaboration.
It's hard.
I mean, a big one's been crossed off.
bucket list. I did a
collab with Clean Bandit last year
who I've loved for, I mean
that was like the sound of my
teen years. I love Clean Bandit
and Kesha. And
I got to do a song with them.
I think right now
I really love Chaparone.
I've liked her for a couple
years now and last year I'm so happy that
she has gotten what she deserves.
But I think, you know, she did
a little country moment at SNL
and I was like
come over and do a little
sapphic country song with me
yes oh my gosh that would be awesome
yes because I already have one
you're like hey would you like to see my resume
get on my album literally strawberry crush
I'm like this is
come do this with me yeah
oh that would be amazing I love
travel wrong I love love love not to be nosy but are you dating
I am
I think I'm a very hard person
to date
I'm very focused
and I
you don't have to say
I'm very curious
I'm like go on
people want to marry me
okay so when I don't want to do that
so like you start to date and they're like you're the one
and you're like I don't want to get married it's easier to just not
date people
because they all end up wanting to marry me and I'm like I just don't want to do that right now.
You ever want marriage or you just
Not right now.
Not right now.
Yeah.
I feel like I just need to stay focused.
I'm a very like, it's like this to me.
And not many people can handle that.
That's very fair.
And if you don't, I mean, we don't need relationships to be happy.
No.
So, no.
I like that.
Yeah.
I got a wand and a rabbit.
I love that.
That's all you need.
Yeah.
And your Nintendo Switch.
And I switch.
That's amazing.
Do country boys slide into your DMs?
All the time.
I bet.
country boys, rappers, comedians, all of them.
You're hot, you're talented, and your kind.
Thank you.
I want to marry you.
I want to marry you.
Okay, to wrap up, we love ending on a fun note over here.
So do you have any, we always do confessions.
Yes.
So any embarrassing stories that you would like to get off your chest.
Tell me.
And it took me a second to think of one and one that I was willing to share.
Yeah.
And this one's pretty bad.
Oh, I'm excited.
I'm like, I'm, and I haven't really, no really knows about this.
But the person who it happened with will definitely know that it's,
I'm like filming at the mouth.
It's, okay.
Let me start off by saying I love Taco Bell.
Okay.
So much.
I already feel like I know where this is going.
It is one of my favorite things to eat.
Their cassidia is the best cassidy I've ever had in my life.
Thank you, chicka, that's my thing.
And spice potato soft tacos.
So those are my favorites.
I chose to eat Taco Bell before going and hanging.
out with someone and um that's a high risk high reward
right there i can stomach taco bell yeah like i have been eating it for so long now that like
it's you know yeah it's like eating the salad for me and uh had some taco bell it was really late
at night it was really late at night i was in manhattan beach california and um had about
like almost a 20 minute drive between where i had stopped in manhattan beach at the taco bell there
to Marina del Rey, do you know what that is?
And I was like, I'll take the coastal route
and meet up with it, you know, this person at like 11 o'clock at night.
And I'm planning on like spending the night, obviously.
Talk about spending the night.
Oh, no.
I don't know.
Oh, no.
And I, this is the first time at this person's place.
And I pull up and it's like a really nice apartment complex,
a big parking lot.
And I'm like sitting there and I'm like, oh no.
I need to get this.
out and I left the apartment complex right I hadn't texted them saying I was there or anything like that and I was like I'll just say I'm running late or like I'm stopping to get food or something right and so I'm driving and in Marina del Rey there's like nowhere and it's late late yeah there's nowhere to just stop for a bathroom yeah so I'm driving probably 10 minutes down the road there's an in and out yeah and I'm like okay finally somewhere I can just run in and go to the bathroom yeah
I'm like
oh no
yeah like I had to sit in the car
for like two minutes
before I could get out
to get to the bathroom
and this is no shade at Taco Bo
like literally none
no no no we love you talking about
sometimes my stomach no matter what I mean
sometimes it just happens
I run into in and out
luckily the bathroom is free
and you know it's a moment
it's a moment
And I look at my phone and this person is texting me and says, hey, like, just want to make sure, like, everything's good, good.
And I was like, yeah, like, I should be there in like 20 minutes or something.
I just like, whatever.
And they were like, why are you an in and out?
And I was like, what?
What do you mean?
Why am I in and out?
And I'm thinking, is this person an in and out right now and saw me run in here, like, clutching my stomach?
Yeah.
I was like, what do you mean?
he's like your location says in and out you share your location with this i had i had forgotten
that we had shared locations so that i could because it was like a hard apartment complex to find
got it got it got it got it well you just sitting in and out for like 30 minutes well he also
saw me go to his apartment complex first oh no so what did you tell you're like just had to get a
quick burger well he was like are you like eating food and i was like yeah that's what happened
and he was like yeah he was like but you were
just here.
Oh, no.
And I was like, oh my God.
And I remember that he had my location.
And that was probably the most
embarrassing thing that happened to me.
And I just pretended like, you know,
getting a little milkshake.
Because it could have been at his house.
It drove there. It was a great night.
But like, nothing after that.
But it was, you had my location.
I was just at it now.
He was like, you were just at the, you were just here.
You're like, really good.
He was just making sure that they got there, you know,
safe.
It was late.
M-M-S scene really cravings of red meat.
I need a milkshake.
So I bought a milkshake on my way out.
You like show up to.
I had to prove it.
I had to prove it.
The lineup was so long.
Oh my God.
So, yeah.
As soon as you said Taco Bell, I was like, she shit her pants.
Yeah.
I mean, luckily, I made it.
He made it.
I'm proud of you.
But it was, um...
Do you feel better for sharing that with the class?
No.
Oh.
Not at all.
Well, I'm glad you shared that with us.
Everybody's got a Taco Bell story they can relate to.
It's like beautiful music.
We are all sitting at home relating to the story.
Yeah, you know.
In many different ways.
Okay, we'll tell everybody where they can find you.
I mean, I'm everywhere.
Just look to your left.
Everywhere.
Yeah, all over socials, you know, wherever you listen to music, you can find my music.
Yeah.
Well, do you have an interesting ad handle or is it just your name?
It's just my name.
It is.
Okay.
Well, I follow you.
Interesting.
I follow you.
I just didn't know.
I was like, maybe.
There's like an underscore 69 in there.
It's just Tanner Adele.
Tanner Adele 69.
It's not.
That was like my AOL name, Candy Kiss 69.
Candy Kiss, that's cute.
69.
It's like, 509.
It's less cute.
My email, so I wasn't allowed to have an email, but my email when I was like 16 was I love being me at Yahoo.com.
Obsessed.
I love that.
Yeah, you definitely do not have imposter syndrome.
that was your
wait my
I have one question
because I just triggered my brain
when you said that
when you like
stopped practicing
religion and went
and you're doing
this is very recent
this is very recent
was your family supportive
or were they like
uh oh
I think they're shocked
for sure
just my parents
but they are
literally my biggest fans
and they're so supportive
and come to all my shows
that they can
and they can't deny
the talent
they love it
oozing out of you
oh I love that for you
okay
well thank you so much
for being on the podcast
Oh, that was fun.
That was fun.

See your next Tuesday.
