Episode Date: January 31, 2023Newlyweds Tay and Taylor Lautner (AKA girl Tay and boy Taylor) join KB in Nashville to talk about everything from The Bachelor to mental health and Taylor shares maybe the best confession we...ve ever heard on the pod. They tell us the adorable story of how they met, the importance of 1111 and butterflies in their lives, and how their recent focus on mental health has transformed into a new podcast and more. Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story.
Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge,
there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice.
And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am.
It's not just any audiobook.
This is a full cast performance.
So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry,
brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads Sing is Mr. Darcy.
And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything.
Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix.
Talk about a dream cast.
Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics,
and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy, and with a vibrant new adaptation and
original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels so fresh and modern while still keeping
that timeless Jane Austen charm.
So whether it's your first time experiencing Pride and Prejudice or you've read it a million times, you're going to fall absolutely in love all over again.
So go listen to Pride and Prejudice now at audible.ca slash Jane Austen.

Here's your host, Caitlin Bristow.
Welcome to Off the Vine.
I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow.
And Twilight fans, you're going to be excited about today's guests,
even though we don't talk about Twilight.
I have Taylor and Taylor Lautner with me in the studio today.
And don't worry, we get into how confusing
that can be for them and me and everyone else.
I have to say these two are one of the cutest, sweetest couples I've ever seen.
Just two beautiful little humans happily in love.
They're also Bachelor fans.
Taylor is actually an OG bachelor fan.
Let's call him Boite.
And his confession is, let's call it pure gold.
We get into this new season a bit, make some predictions based off the bios.
And I guess we will see if we're right because the Bachelor premiered.
And we made these well before.
Are we psychic?
We'll find out.
Enjoy my conversation with the Taylor Lautner's.
Welcome to your very first podcast.
Thank you.
Now I'm going to say, you're the Lautner's,
but Taylor and Taylor Lautner,
I have so many questions that we'll get into about that,
which I'm sure you're like, I'm sick of it,
but I have to know.
And this is your first in-person podcast.
Yeah.
Do you like it?
Yeah.
Well, because you're starting your own,
so you better like it.
I have no choice.
I'm sure liking it.
You have no choice.
Congratulations.
You guys just got married and your wedding looked stupidly beautiful.
I was obsessed.
I've been engaged for like 86 years now.
And so I'm like always inspired by people's weddings.
Was it the most magical day ever?
It was.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It was pretty good.
Yeah.
I feel like that's what we did.
I feel like we like stole ideas and stuff.
Yeah.
But I don't.
I mean, it definitely we did it.
We did it in a place that, like, felt home for us.
And that was, like, the most important thing.
Yeah.
So we did it in Paso-Robles, which is, like, our little getaway spot.
So when we want to, like, get away and, like, just have a weekend, like, quiet.
Yes.
So we did it there.
It's like your little happy place.
Yeah.
So it was hard to screw up.
Yeah.
It came together really well.
That's nice.
I feel like from what I – I've known you for five minutes, but from what I feel, I feel like you're very much, like,
comfort makes you guys happy.
And I'm the same way.
For sure.
Like I make my home into my own little sanctuary.
I like to feel comfortable.
I like a cozy blanket.
I like to feel good in other people's spaces.
Like it's just all about like that happy place where mentally you're in like a good place.
And that's what I've made my house too.
That's probably we were just talking about this before the podcast was recording.
But like I can't let go of my house and I've lived in it for so long.
It's your sanctuary.
It really is.
It's important to feel good in your own home.
And I would imagine like a wedding day.
it's such a big deal.
So to feel some sort of peace and comfort in like a place that you're familiar with
with all your family and friends is probably so special.
I know this is probably annoying, but I just have to, like, I've never met a couple that
has the same name.
And I kept thinking, like, if I was married to another Caitlin Brissau, I'd be like, no, that,
like, that is my identity.
That is my name.
But you go, but I was talking to Ariel because she's one of my best friends.
And she was like, no, you got to call them boy tay and girl Tay.
Is that how people?
That's how what our friends say.
Your friends say?
Yeah.
I mean, before like at first, when we first met, I feel like we were like, okay, we have to
differentiate this.
So she'll be Tay, I'll be Taylor.
Okay.
That's what we started with.
Yeah.
But then it just kind of morphed to where all of our friends just called us girl
Tay and boy te.
That's so.
Yeah.
It's cute.
Happened.
So yeah, that's how.
I think that's really fond.
Girl, Tay, so you respond to that.
Yeah.
Girl, boy, either one.
I'll call him boy.
Yeah.
Nobody ever calls you.
Taylor.
No.
Has that been like in your life?
Everyone called you Tay or have you, have you always been Taylor?
I've always been Tay.
Oh, okay.
That helps.
Okay.
Like, that was always my, like.
Yeah.
What happens when you get like mail and shit?
Like, are you like, oh, you have to open it and be like, this one's for you?
Why am I so, like, this is, I mean, yeah, I know, I know.
This is the kind of stuff my brain thinks of.
We'll either just use like complete aliases so there's no screwing it up.
That's fair.
For Christmas, we do that.
Yeah.
Actually, that's fair because you probably don't want people.
knowing where you live anyways.
I never thought about that.
We have a fake alias last name and then we do Jack and Jill.
So mine says Jack and her says Jill because if we were to touch the Taylor of it all,
it'd just be a nightmare.
I would, I need to get on the level where I need an alias name.
You could do like Google, where does Caitlin Bristol live?
It like pops right up.
I'm like, I should probably be a little more careful about that.
But that's cute that your whole, the friends and family, Ariel was telling me.
And then she's like, I should probably shut up.
She's like, you're having them on your podcast where I'm just going to let them tell you
their story because she was like, I love them. And this is how they met. And I'm like,
don't tell me, don't tell me. Because I want to hear it from you guys. She was going to actually
join us today. But her phone call lasted too long. So she, we love her. Isn't she amazing?
Wait, what are you guys in Nashville? Why? Yeah. We're actually other than to talk to you.
You're just here for me. But other than that, yes. Other than that, we're here to meet my nephew.
Oh, exciting. Your sister had a boy. My sister had a boy. Yeah, a week before our wedding.
and this is the first time we were able to get here and see them.
Isn't that the most, is this her first?
Yeah.
And you and your sister are really close, right?
Yeah.
And that's, okay, I'm starting to put it all together.
And that was how you met.
Okay, let's just get into it.
Tell us, sister.
I love a how did they meet story.
And I know yours is really, I don't know the full story.
I just know little bits and pieces and I cut RL off when she was telling me.
So tell me the story of how you two met because I know it's cute.
Go ahead.
Kick it off.
Kick it off.
it goes back to like randomly when taylor group of michigan when his family moved out to
california they moved to the same city small town that i'm from yeah like an hour outside of
l.a okay um and when was that i would have been like 11 or 12 so 2000 that was really weird i was
gonna say 11 and i had no idea but that's just my favorite number i was going to be like 11 11
but hey i didn't want to seem like 11 11 oh i i know and i'm i actually took a screenshot today at
11-11 because I'm a big 11-11 guy.
Yeah. Okay. So yes. Okay, go on.
His sister and I were a year apart. We grew up like knowing the other, but never like being
friends. And she came out here to Belmont and my best friend since childhood went to Belmont as
well. And I met her out here. I think we like went to church and I met her at church for the
first time. And then like five months later, they came home from school. And my friend, yeah.
And my friend was throwing like a girl's night. Yeah. And the other sister,
I kind of came and that was like the second time I had met her and she apparently called Taylor
she calls me yeah and goes hey you have to throw a game night at your house because I love
throwing game nights that's like my thing yeah and she's like and you need to like I need to bring
some friends and one of those friends is going to be this girl Tay who I just met and you're going
to love her I'm telling you she's your future wife no way she knew she knew yeah yeah I didn't want
believe it at the time, but she knew.
Really?
You were like, absolutely not?
I was like, sure.
Yeah, yeah.
Has your sister done that before?
Yeah.
Come over and I'm going to fall in love with her.
Weird.
And her name's also Taylor.
Yeah.
Okay.
And then you met her and you're like, oh, yeah.
Yeah, she came over.
She was one of a few friends.
Yeah, we hit it off.
Right away.
I had no clue.
This setup happened.
Oh.
It was tricky.
Yeah, she was out of it.
I had no clue.
McKenna and Taylor had set this whole thing up.
And then McKenna text me and my friend.
is like hey do you guys want to come over to my brothers for game night and my friend and i were
like wait why am i invited like mckenna is like she's the best sister to taylor and she's like so
protective of him and i was like i've met you like twice why why am i invited we were like i don't know
i don't know i don't care i'm excited i love games so i'm like i'm ready to freaking domine
and i'm ipso facto i'll be there that now i need to know what games you play on game night because
I am I in the same way like Jason would be like do you want to maybe watch a show I'm like games always games we play Yotsie every night
Monopoly deal not only love Monopoly deal I love Monopoly I love have you played the card game golf yes
you have absolutely okay what else what is your favorite games so for game nights we want like higher energy I like spoons
okay you like spoons I do I feel like we take
it up a whole not their notch. Oh shit. So we love running charades is like one of our favorite. Wait, I was
going to suggest running spoons, which I'll tell you about after. Running spoons? Yes. You put spoons
in a different room. Oh. Yeah. So pretty much you can play any game and pick the word running.
Running. Yes. Absolutely. Running yazzi. Let's try it. Running yonzi. I mean, Yossi is pretty boring. So you got to spice it up. But what is what is running
charades? So it's, it's charades. You have two or however many teams, but simpler with two.
You put them in two different rooms of the house.
And you have a game master who creates a list of 10 movies.
He's normally the game master.
Okay.
I do love being game master.
I can see it.
I can see it.
Playing it's too stressful.
So being game master is just like, I don't know, my safe star.
You're calling.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, you know, a list of 10 movies, books, TV shows, songs, celebrities, whatever.
Yeah.
And you start with the team captains.
You whisper to them, you know, movie Titanic.
Yeah.
They have to run back to their teams in different rooms, charade out Titanic, which that's an easy one.
But, yeah, done.
But charade it out, then the person that guesses it runs to the game master to get the next word.
And it becomes a relay race and whoever gets through, whichever team gets through the list of 10 first wins.
It's a very high energy, lots of yelling, screaming, adding wine or tequila.
Yes.
I need to move there and be a part of it.
Well, we do it here, actually.
We do game nights here.
Not at this house, but at Sean and Andrews's other house.
They host game night.
What is it?
Every, like, Friday or Sunday, the first once a month.
They bring food trucks, drink trucks.
All out.
All out.
We play running spoons.
Dangerous.
It gets really dangerous.
Especially when we have, like, really competitive people.
Yes.
Oh, which I am.
I joke about moving to L.A. and playing game night, but like I would and you'd be like, maybe
you will not invite her next time.
Like, I'm, I'm that person.
No.
you really think I'll move out there? I always said no. But now because I'm there all the time for
podcasting or work or doing something, I'm like, I wouldn't mind having a little apartment out
there. Maybe making that a little studio. I travel there almost every couple of months for podcasting
anyways. So yeah, just tell me what area to go because I don't know anything. Exactly. You need to be
in the right area. Yeah, that's. I feel like people in L.A. in Nashville are just like doing this.
Yes. Everybody from L.A. is moving here and people are, it's so funny. One of my friends, I always
assume everyone knows everybody in the industry, but Kristen Cavaleri, she has a place out in
LA and she was like, it's the best decision I ever made by just getting a little apartment
out there because she's always out there anyways. And then that's what inspired me. But I was
always like, I'm never moving to L.A., Nashville. And now I'm like, yeah, I can probably, I can probably
do it with a place out there. I'm, we're going back to 1111. Because I know, you guys got married 11, 11,
22, which is like the most magical manifesting day out there. But didn't you propose on 1111 as well?
Yeah. Yeah. So I would like, I had been, she'd been waiting for me to propose for a hot sec. Yeah. He had the ring for a long time. Really? Yeah, I did. I didn't know until after, but. Oh, that's good that you didn't know. I just like got in my head about it and I wanted it to be perfect. Yeah. So like, I got the ring and I think I had it for, I don't know, nine months. Yeah. But I just kept waiting. I was like, is now the time? No, because then I'm working and I want to, you know, be focused on, you know, the engagement and everything. Yeah.
Is now the right time?
No, she's busy.
Like, so I just wanted to be perfect and I didn't know what to do.
So then I finally was like, okay, Taylor, you got to like just buckle up.
Yeah.
So I was like, she's a big like numbers person.
She loves like the meaning of numbers and just like stuff like that.
So last year, well, wow, two years ago, 2021.
Right.
I was like, I'm going to do it on 1111.
You know, this is about to get real.
You see. I love cheese. And I like tied in. This like went into my like engagement speech. I like tied in like, you know, I've had all these wishes in life. And, you know, every time I've blown a candle out or whatever made a wish. Like I've always had the same wish. And it's to find my person. I want to find that my right person. And I don't remember this in my speech. You were probably just like. But still, I could hear this a million.
Sometimes it still will be like, who's cutting onions?
Yeah.
That's sweet.
So, yeah, I was like, okay, that sounds right.
11.11, I'm going to tie it in with this.
It can be perfect.
And then, yeah, I asked her to marry me.
And then I was like, and by the way, this wasn't in the moment.
This was at dinner afterwards.
I was like, and by the way, 1111 next year is on a weekend.
Get married next year, like a year from today.
Oh, sweet.
We kind of just like, we kind of set it right there.
Yeah.
Great.
You're like, divine timing.
That's amazing.
And then the 11, 11, 11, 22 of it all, which was perfect.
You're like, talk about meant to be.
That just, that all feels right.
Sounded right.
Oh, that's nice.
So you're really big into numbers.
Did you have a thought that 1111 maybe he'll propose?
I had no clue.
No.
I didn't even.
I didn't even think I really knew what day it was, honestly.
Because I was like going to some like PR event or doing.
I worked with, like, our assistant friend to schedule this event that she was going to go to, to be that day.
Oh, perfect.
Yeah.
It was like.
You really thought it all through.
Yeah.
So she, so, like, our friend scheduled this thing for that day.
Yeah.
So they could go to it.
And the second she left the house, I had my friend, our friends show up and just, like, transformed the house.
Like, busted our balls for a few hours, just, like, dripping sweat.
Yeah.
And then she came home and it was a surprise.
That sounds so nice.
I feel like I caught her off guard.
It was good.
Yeah, I was very caught off guard.
Are you an easy person to surprise or usually you figure things out?
Have you ever surprised me aside from that?
I feel like that's kind of good, though, because if he doesn't ever surprise you, then you really weren't expecting it.
I'm like, I'm very observant.
I don't think you are an easy person to surprise.
Yeah, I would say I'm, I ask a lot of questions too.
That's good.
I mean, you're going to have your own podcast.
It's important to ask questions.
That's good.
I want to know about the butterflies because you added them into your veil and there's significance to you for it.
What is with butterflies?
Because I have a butterfly story for you too.
I mean, aside from like the representation of like what butterflies are, my nana and I, it's like a big thing for us.
It's a wild story, but her mom was murdered.
at like a young, young, young age,
but she was obviously had my nana.
And she always told my nana that she'd come back to her as a white butterfly.
No way.
And there's white butter.
I have chills.
Every time I say it, I get chills.
I got chills.
There's white butterflies always around my nana.
Like, wow.
Always.
And like, when we first, like, bought our house, there was white butterflies.
Like, there was a white butterfly.
The morning before our wedding, we were at lunch.
And I literally got hit in the face with it.
I've never been hit in the face by a butterfly.
I'm not even exaggerating right now.
Oh, I was like, what?
And a little white butterfly flew away.
I was like, oh, my gosh.
I see you.
Wow.
So that's like, as you had already incorporated them into your veil and one smacks you in the face, I love that.
Yeah.
I love when the universe smacks you in the face with signs.
Like, oh, that's beautiful.
I love that.
Yeah, what's yours?
My girlfriend, she passed away in a car accident when I was 18.
And her sister always saw butterflies.
And then her sister kind of, I feel like she started, you know, phases of grief where like sometimes you get angry or sometimes you don't believe or like you go through phases.
And I had a medium on my podcast and the medium was talking about my girlfriend who passed in things that you cannot Google and things that people didn't know.
And it was really incredible.
And so I asked her sister to listen to it.
And she was like, okay, I'm going to ask for a sign.
And so she asked for a butterfly.
And that same day, she was driving.
She went to the gas station and her son opened the car door.
And a butterfly flew into her car and just landed on her seat.
And she was like, okay, into the car.
Oh, my gosh.
Yeah.
So I feel like.
It's like the same story.
Smacks you in the face.
Literally.
It's.
I feel like, yeah, butterfly somehow get the signs.
They're like, oh, we'll show you.
We got you.
Yeah.
And it's funny too because that Jason isn't, he's a little skeptical on.
mediums and stuff like that.
But I was telling him this story.
And then he kept seeing butterflies swarming our backyard after I was like, well, maybe
they have to like show you a sign.
And he was like, okay, it was like a week of butterflies swarming our backyard.
It was crazy.
So I love that.
You know me and my quick cues.
I've got another one for you.

What is one thing that you both did for the wedding that, you know how you were saying you kind of take from other people's weddings?
You get inspired here and there. What is something you would recommend for other couples to do on their wedding day that you're like, oh, that was good advice or something you'd like to pass on?
I got it. Two things we did that we knew that we wanted to do from the beginning is we wanted it to be kind of like a weekend thing.
Yeah. I didn't want it just to be like one day. And we didn't. We were, some people are able to do this. Some not like we kept it pretty small.
We didn't want to be shaking a hand and saying, nice to meet you on our wedding day.
Yes.
So we had a very small group of our closest friends and family.
And it was perfect.
How many people?
Just under 100.
That's lovely.
Yeah.
I love that.
Yeah.
Intimate, close people.
I love that.
Yeah.
It was perfect.
And we wanted, of those people, there was people that didn't know each other.
Yeah.
We wanted it to kind of be like a little.
getaway. So we had like a Wednesday, like welcome thing for early birds, like people, family that
traveled from in, from out of town. Then Thursday was the night before. And we did like rehearsal
dinner and then like a like a welcome party for everyone. And then Friday was the wedding. And then
Saturday was like a celebration party. Amazing. So that sounds perfect. Yeah, it was great. That sounds like
the way to do it. Fun weekend. Because I.
We had heard that it's going to fly by like this.
Everybody tells you that.
Like, you know, soak in every moment because it's going to be over like that.
Yes.
And I just, yeah, I couldn't imagine if it was a one day thing.
I wouldn't remember anything.
That's so true.
I just went to, I don't know if you know, Wells and Sarah.
Yeah.
Yeah, their wedding and they did such a beautiful job of that same thing, just over a few days and like brunches and dinner and then welcome dinner and the rehearsal and then the brunch the next day after the wedding.
and everyone just really like bonded and got to know each other and it felt intimate and it was perfect.
And that sounds like kind of what you guys did.
I just had a flashback that I'm going to go into confessions right now, which I do on every podcast.
But I have to do it now because I just wrote it and I don't want to forget.
I served you at a restaurant.
Shut up.
Yes.
In Vancouver.
So I lived in Vancouver for 11 years.
and I remember because I served Robert at a restaurant and he came in and it was when you guys were filming.
So nothing had really blown up yet.
I don't think.
I don't remember.
But I remember serving him and then he was at the same bar as me that same night.
And he was like, oh, I'm sorry.
I was awkward earlier.
Like, I don't know.
I'm just awkward.
And I was like, oh, that's funny.
And like, I didn't really.
I was like, what are you doing in town that he told me?
Anyways, the next day, because I think you guys were staying at the Opus Hotel or something because that's where I served.
at. Okay. And you guys all came down for like dinner and a drink or something one night. And I was
your server. Wait. Was it? And my confession is actually that I've never really watched any of the
shows. But I also served you. And I'm like, I just thought of that. I'm like, oh my gosh, I served.
What restaurant was it? So it's, I don't know if you're going to remember this. But it's at the
bottom of a hotel. Yes. I feel like. Yeah. Yeah. It's the Opus Hotel. It was called
100 nights. Okay. The, the restaurant was called 100 nights. And it was kind of like a pop up restaurant that was
open for 100 nights.
Oh, wow.
And it was like a restaurant lounge that turned into like bottle service like later in the night.
Okay.
Yeah.
And it was so, I met so many different people.
Like I served Tom Cruise one time.
That's so funny because was it around the same time?
Yes.
Yeah, because the hotel I stayed at, I was on like the 49th floor.
Yeah.
Okay, then it definitely wasn't the opus.
But yeah.
And well, so we used to stay at, me and Rob, the first couple of movies stayed at the Sheraton Wall Center.
Yes.
And then.
Which is right by where the rest of the office.
It was. Okay. Yes. Okay. Then for the last two movies, I stayed at the Shangri-Law. Yeah. And I was on the 49th floor. Uh-huh. And I forget. One day I was like, there was only 50 floors. Yeah. And I was like, who's on the 50th? And apparently they had the whole floor to themselves. It was Tom Cruise.
Oh, no way. The whole floor was like one. Yeah. So I had half of the 49th floor. Yeah. And whoever was on 50 had the whole thing. And I was like, who is it? Yeah. And they were like, it's Tom Cruise. It's freaking Tom Cruise.
That's funny.
Then that adds up.
I mean, so many things are filmed in Vancouver.
So there was,
but it was just so funny because I really,
my confession was going to be that I never watched any of the shows.
Yeah.
But then I was like,
oh my gosh,
I also served your,
all that whole group at one.
I can remember the table and everything because people were like,
they're filming,
blah, blah,
and you guys were all very nice.
That's good.
Yeah.
I have nothing,
nothing negative to say.
So now you guys.
That's a good story.
Yeah.
I know.
That is a good story,
isn't it?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's not.
expecting that. It's full circle. Now here we are on the podcast. Yeah, it really is. I love Vancouver. Isn't it beautiful? I haven't been back since. No? And I've told her about it. Oh, yeah, you got to go. I'm like, I want to take her so bad. Go in September. Like, first week of September is the most beautiful time and drive up to the Okinawagon. It's like wine country. My parents have a place there. It's just like beautiful little hills and lakes and it looks European and it's stunning. Yeah, I haven't been there. Oh, you have to go. Colona.
Like the sea to sky highway?
No.
Okay.
It's the Coca-Hola.
Okay.
The Coca-Hola.
The Coca-Hola.
Okay.
And you drive up, it's about four hours to the most beautiful place you'll ever visit in Canada.
Okay.
It's stunning.
It's amazing.
But don't think you're getting off the hook without telling me a confession now.
Yeah, right.
Okay.
This just feels like more of a confession that I just have to get off my chest.
Perfect.
Since we're here.
Yes.
I want to be honest with you.
Okay.
When you were on the show.
Yeah.
I was really hoping it was going to be Britt.
Shut up.
Yeah.
Going into that season, I definitely, like, had a crush on Brit.
And I was like, I was like, it's got to be Brit.
It's going to be Britt.
And I, like, I loved her.
Oh, that's a really, really good confession.
I will admit, I am very, not nothing against Brit.
No, she's lovely.
I did become a massive fan of yours from the show.
I won you over.
I'm not blowing smoke up right now.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
No, I literally loved you, but going into it, I was definitely Team Britt.
That is one of the best confessions I've heard on this podcast, but that's very funny.
I just feel good getting that off.
I'm really glad you, do you feel lighter?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, good.
I forgive you, and I'm glad I won you over.
You converted me.
I also get it because she wasn't like a, she was a friend when we went on together.
So I was like, I get it.
She's freaking stunning and sweet and great and like all these, but it's funny because
when I went, I thought like it was probably going to be half and half because you could tell they
casted for both of our types. Yeah. So I was like some of these people are clearly here for Brit.
Yeah. Some are clearly here for me. And they probably don't want me to say this, but I'm out of
contract. But when I went in and sat down, Ben Higgins, I'll never forget. He was like, do you
who won? I was like, yes. And he was like, it's you by a long shot. But they edited it to make it
look like it was totally split down the middle. Yeah. So you, before.
before they told you it was you, you knew.
Well, I didn't know.
I was like, who freaking knows with this show?
Because, I mean, they could have heard that over him being on the mic and been like,
we don't want, nope, now we're going to switch everything up.
We're going to shock the house.
Yeah.
So I didn't know.
But the power of editing.
The power of editing is really, as we all know, a crazy thing.
Yeah.
Oh, that's good.
Okay.
And you have two?
Oh, my gosh.
This is a lot of confession.
I don't have it.
I feel like your confession was enough for both of us.
That was a really good one.
I do think that this...
You think I can top it with this one?
I do.
Oh, wow.
Potentially.
Okay.
Here's one more.
Okay.
This one's just funny.
I think also before, Taylor's like a huge, like if you were to ask who the bigger bachelor fan was, it's, it's Taylor.
Really?
Always like you were like an OG fan.
Like I started watching it when I was a child child.
Yeah.
Like, yeah.
No, I grew up watching it, very passionate about it.
Oh, I love it.
And I literally.
really, she doesn't
dislike it, but I do need
to twist her arm to, like, sit down for
two hours. Really? I'll watch Paradise.
Yeah. That's like my jam.
Yeah. I do. I like it
more when it's the Bachelorette.
Yes. I'm just not like a girl's
girl. I don't know. No, I get it. I can't be
just like, the girl bickering. I'm just like,
but when the guys do it, it's like, okay, this is going.
You definitely prefer a bachelorette. I do too, and I'm the same way.
Yeah. I get like really cringy over the
girls bickering like I remember filming and I was like you guys know that they're just going to air
this right like you yeah I would just sit back and be like oh shit like oh my gosh why are we freaking
out like this but I know you're on camera all the time I was like they're and there's
there's so many cameras I'm like hello it's very clear yeah okay so bigger basketball
yeah huge die hard bachelor fan since I was a kid yeah at some point
a bit ago, my agency calls.
Yeah.
And I pick up the phone and they're like, hey, just wanted to throw this out there.
We got a call from ABC and a bachelorette has requested that you be a contestant on their show.
Stop it.
Stop.
And I just learned this this morning.
Wait, and you guys were together?
No.
Oh, this is before that.
Okay.
Okay.
Oh, my God.
Yeah, and I mean, deep down, I'm like, that's the coolest thing ever.
I've been watching the show since I was 10 or whatever.
I'm like, that's like the biggest honor.
But, yeah, no, yeah, that was.
Oh, wait.
And you can't say her name, obviously.
Yeah.
Well, wait, I'm going to dig and I'm going to find, I'm going to ask, we have a girl chat for all the bacheloretts.
I'm like, who requested it?
And I'll find out.
That's hilarious.
No, we've talked about it since and like, we laugh about it.
Oh, that's funny.
Yeah.
Did you consider going or are you like?
I didn't consider.
going on the show
that would be a little
but but I was an honor
I was a big fan of hers
oh okay yeah so I was honored
I was very honored okay that's amazing
yeah but it was definitely the most
interesting phone call I've gotten from my agent
absolutely yeah of all the things
that was the most interesting that's crazy
okay what's your confession
hey I mean I don't know if you know this
but we've talked about it and I've talked about it
before that I was team Edward
I saw that on TikTok
And I, that TikTok, was it TikTok or Instagram story?
I posted it and then a fan account posted it on TikTok because I don't have one.
But how?
And that's true.
That's a true story.
I love it.
Who are you?
Jacob.
Jacob.
And he was team Edward and you were team Edward.
Which was like a big thing, right?
It was like, who's team are you on?
Yeah.
She loved Rob.
That is.
Big Edward fan.
But like you did for me.
Yes.
I converted her.
See?
That's, you just got a.
to get to know the real ones. Yeah. Yeah. Now you're team
Jacob and I'm team Caitlin. This is a real full circle moment. I'm really
happy about this. Okay, when you've got a lot going on, it can be really hard to find
time or motivation for a workout. I know I've been there a million times before, but Peloton
has really motivated me to get it in however and whenever I can. You guys already know
how I feel about Peloton eats my fave. So I've had their bike for a while now, take classes on
the app, but the Peloton Row brand new to me.
I went to their showroom in Nashville.
I need to get this rower immediately.
I should have asked for it for Christmas.
Maybe I'll just get it myself.
Merry Christmas, Caitlin.
You guys, I'm serious when I say I actually had fun working out and feel like I got
in a brand new type of workout for me, just full body.
Peloton is bringing motivation and energy to rowing like never before with a variety
of rowing workouts on and off the row and all new world class instructors who will help you get
in a great workout while having fun no matter what your experience level is.

in one shot.
The technology was really cool when I tried it in the showroom.
It helped me get into it the right way and they have this form assist while working out.
So it's like a breakdown of what you're doing right and wrong and it'll help give you
the proper form.
And the breakdown is at the end so you can go even harder next time.
Right now is the perfect time to get rowing with Peloton Row and we can promise you've never
road like this before. Peloton Row offers a variety of classes for all levels and game-changing
features that will help you get rowing or advance what you already can do. Explore Peloton Row and
financing options at onepellaton.com slash row. I love that you have been a fan for so long,
which have you been watching even recent seasons or more of like the OG? Definitely more the
Oh, G.
It's hard to keep up with TV these days, I find.
Yeah.
Yeah, we've trailed off a bit better keeping up with Paradise.
Yeah.
Because that's the one she'll watch.
Yeah.
It's just tough.
I don't want to watch it alone.
Well, I will, but.
And it's three.
I mean, that's a lot of time to be consumed when it's Bachelor, then Bachelor at them Bachelor in Paradise.
Each one is like two hours.
Yeah.
That's a lot of time to be spent watching the same format every freaking year.
Yeah.
I'm like, I'm wondering what's going to happen with Zach being the new Bachelor because I really think they're going to try
make it like a Sean Lowe season where they've kind of been dragging their past Bachelor and
Bachelorette's like not making them look the best with like poor Clayton got absolutely dragged
but Zach they're going to try he was awkward as hell I was I was at the live after the final
rose when he got announced to The Bachelor and then they had him meet five girls right away
and I was like oh this is going to be I can appreciate awkward but this was like what what do you
think it is that why why did they want him I don't
I don't know. I don't know. Seems probably a nice guy. He's actually one of the nicest. I'm sure his season is going to be great. And he is really lovely. And his family's amazing. He's like a real solid family guy. He's a good human. So maybe that's why. And Sean Lowe was an incredible human. And maybe they're hoping for that. But just everything about it was kind of a mess. And then they had something on TikTok the other night where their bachelor is always like a little bit behind with the times in so many different ways. But they were announcing all the women on TikTok. But like Jesse couldn't get his.
microphone to work and like it was just like you couldn't hear some of the names of the girls and
it was just 10 minutes of like him trying to figure out his microphone and I was just like cutting in
out it was just terrible but I have to watch now yeah I know I they always suck me in somehow one because
it's part of my job I'm like well I got a podcast about it but I got a kick out of the release of this list
of bios because they really pick out the most random things to to put about like your fun facts and
I remember filling out the paperwork for this was looking at the fun fact
I was like, that is the strength.
Loves animals, but terrified of monkeys.
Or what was another one I saw?
I was like, what?
Loves porcelain dolls.
I love porcelain, I'm up.
Yeah, pull them up.
I screen recorded one too because I was like, this is too.
Well, let me tell you what my fun facts where I was trying to pull it up, see if there's a photo anywhere.
But it was like, Caitlin Bristow, what an ex would say about her?
And it was like, she bites her nails and leaves hair extensions laying around.
And I was like, what?
And I was like, I put so many different things.
That's what you pulled.
I was like, I mean, it's true.
I do clearly bite my nails.
But also it was like terrified of birds, which I am.
What was my other?
Oh, if I could be any fictional character, who would I be?
I said April O'Neill from the Ninja Turtles because I want to hang out with the turtles.
And like, so they pull up all these funny facts.
So this, I mean, you guys know the bios because you've looked them up.
But Allie 26 from Atlanta, Georgia is a proud collector of porcelain dolls.
Wow.
Which creeps me to hell out because have you ever seen criminal minds?
Yeah.
There's an episode of Criminal Minds where this woman collects porcelain dolls,
but she starts kidnapping adults and putting them on an IV that makes them paralyzed with their eyes move.
And she makes them her dolls.
So that's just...
Yeah, that's terrifying.
And it's like major lifetime murder movie vibes.
She's going to have to make up for that fun fact.
Well, she does.
She also went to high school with Beyonce.
Oh.
So...
Okay.
Yeah.
Great.
She's clear.
What other fun facts did we find in there?
They made it for it.
Holland from 24.
Florida.
What did I?
Wait,
what was my prediction for her?
I'm that she's going to be the villain probably.
Yes.
Yes.
That's my prediction to you for the villain.
We agree on that one.
Well, because she said loves yachting with her girls, does not function without
air conditioning and her favorite shows The Bachelor.
So I'm like, oh, no.
I mean, I get that your favorite shows The Bachelor,
but if you're like, oh, my favorite pastime is yachting with my girlfriends.
And in air conditioning.
I'm like, jeez.
You know, that sounds nice, but she's on my radar for villain for sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, this one made me laugh.
Victoria.
Okay.
Victoria doesn't eat blue tortilla chips.
What?
Doesn't eat blue tortilla chips.
Like, that is a really, I don't know about fun fact, more of like, that seems more
of like an OCD thing, which I totally respect, but why, I always have follow-up questions.
Why?
Why do you hate blue?
What did they do?
to you. What did they do to you? They taste like a regular tortilla chip. The color is just blue. Yeah.
So. Interesting. Yeah. Madison's going to have to make it up to me because I don't know if I trust anybody that hates all sauces. Oh, yeah.
Sources. Sources.
Madison. Disholks capital all sauces. What? Madison. Madison. Madison. I love sauce. A sauce is everything. Everything needs sauce on it.
It makes it like a dry hamburger.
A salad meat sauce, a fry meat sauce.
I have questions there.
Yeah.
Like this is when I went pescatarian for like five years and I totally, I was like,
everything just is about the sauce anyways.
You can put sauce on anything and make it taste good.
So like a slap chimi churry on anything, whatever.
Like a plain breast of chicken, sick.
Like nobody just eats a plate.
You need sauce on it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's concerning.
Red flag for sure.
I'm with you on that.
Yeah, I do love sauce.
I think I saw there's like four nurses.
Four nurses.
There's a lot of nurses.
I was like, I'm going to pick my top three as the nurses and then there was four.
Always, it's like fitness people.
Yeah.
Nurses.
They always have a bunch of people from Nashville and San Diego.
I feel like they always have.
Yeah.
It really is.
Of the people who are like already content creators before the show.
Right.
For both of us, we both, how do you, looks like.
Like Gena V?
Not Genevieve.
Oh.
Gena V.
Yeah.
Okay.
Jenna V.
What was her?
What did she say?
Oh, I said Genevieve, but that's not.
She's beautiful.
Yeah, we both, we both.
Maybe it's Genevieve, but not spelled like the normal way.
It looks like Jenna V.
Geno.
She likes really cute.
But she's a, a neonatal, neonatal?
Oh, like a NICU nurse.
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
That's.
And she's like a boss.
Oh, we love her.
She like owns her own.
How old is she?
It's a young cast.
Okay.
Okay.
It's weird because I'm 25, I turn 20.
You're 25?
I'm young.
But it's weird now that like I am the same age, if not older, than some of the people.
Yeah.
Because I've always, I mean, I've watched the show and they've always been older.
How do you think I feel in 37?
They all just like, I keep getting older and they keep staying the same age.
You know?
Even getting younger.
Yeah.
Now it's like there's so many 22-year-olds.
I think there was a 23 and there is.
Well, I also get good vibes from Mercedes.
She's 24.
I think I actually wrote her down too.
Did you?
She seems wholesome.
Okay.
And that's why I don't want to judge the, you know, the ages because you're an old soul and you're 25.
And there's just, I just judge because I was a complete idiot at your age.
Like a complete idiot.
But yeah, Mercedes, she's got a non-for-profit.
Her hobby.
I did pick her.
You did?
Yeah.
Her hobby is showing pigs at the Iowa State Fair.
Stop.
The cutest thing.
She just seems so wholesome.
Oh, my gosh.
Bailey 27 from Nashville.
I met her actually on After the Final Rose.
Okay.
She's Nashville.
So I'm recruiting friends at this point for myself.
But I always ask people this too, which I want to know, especially as a fan of the show.
What would your limo entrance be if you went on the show?
Do you have one?
Mine would be.
I'd probably walk out and say a dad joke.
Oh, cute.
I like that.
Say something.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like a punny joke.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
See?
And you would have a dad joke.
So.
You do.
Yeah.
It says way too many dad jokes.
Taylor, how would you come out of the limo?
Um, I feel like I would just pull out one of my party tricks and either like a backflip.
Do a flip.
Yeah.
Or maybe more impressive my grape catching abilities.
What is this?
I'm weirdly very, very good at catching grapes in my mouth.
I should have brought grapes.
Like tossing them up yourself or like I could toss one at you or like.
Either or.
So like it's fun like running.
Just grapes though.
ball route. I mean, no. Okay. Whatever. But we usually use grapes because, you know, if it's hard.
They have a good density. Yeah. That's fair. That's fair. That's fair. That's fair. Yeah. Still be soft enough when it makes an impact. Yeah. That's fair. But like one of my favorite things, if I'm tossing it myself, I'll like throw it in the air, do a flip. Yeah. And then catch it on the way down. Holy. That's like the, so that's probably. Oh, that's. You have to do that. Yeah. You backflip just seems boring after you.
say that at a grape end of that that's yeah that's i always said if i could redo it again i would
like ghost ride the limo like i would come in like surfing the limo and like that's what i would do
they probably wouldn't let me do that but i like your plow the field joke i mean all right so
quick pause errone taylor dome admitted she was previously on team edward okay i mean can't
really blame her options were pretty split on this one and my confession was that i never watched
the Twilight movies, but I did hear that Kristen Stewart had major chemistry with both Edward
and Jacob.
This is allegedly all rumors here, me just making stuff up.
And then I went on the Off the Vine Group and was reading your guys posts, which are always
just so friggin entertaining.
And I saw a post about the best and worst on screen chemistry.
So I thought, you know what, that would be a perfect little topic for my Peloton romance
roundup this week.
Another little romance is that I heard Kristen Stewart has tried my wine.
Unless she likes it. Maybe I have a video. Maybe I don't. I don't know. Okay, romance roundup of the week. My favorite on-screen couple is probably Adam Sandler and Jen Aniston. Maybe Rachel and Ross. I don't know. I'm shooky. Someone in the group wrote, worst Ross and Rachel. Change my mind. I also have a question. Have you ever watched a movie and you felt like there was zero chemistry between the leads? So lots of I knows were saying best chemistry goes to Jim and Pam on the office, which I definitely, definitely agree with that.
Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosselin in The Notebook, Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio and Titanic, Monica, and Chandler.
Those are some of the best, by the way.
Here's some of the worst.
Some articles on the interwebs had lists of the worst on-screen chemistry.
One was Jessica Elba and Dane Cook in Good Luck, Chuck, for example.
I agree.
Fifty Shades of Gray.
I don't know about that casting.
I do love Dakota Johnson, but didn't love the chemistry between her and J.B. Dornan.
A lot of lists actually had Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson on the worst list, which is funny.
I need to do some research on this one myself.
Maybe I do need to queue up Twilight and watch it ASAP.
One list said, Catherine Hegel and T.R. Knight's characters, Izzy and George?
What are your thoughts on that?
I like their chemistry.
It was from Gray's Anatomy, remember?
A few lists had been.
and Jen, which is surprising.
They're lovebirds now.
Okay, so some actors may not have the best chemistry, but you know who does have the best
chemistry like ever, me and my little Peloton Row at their showroom in Nashville.
It was quite a journey.
Did you like that transition?
Thank you.
Cool.
So Peloton Row offers a variety of classes for all levels, game-changing features that help
you get rowing or advance what you can already do.
And you can explore Peloton Row and their financing options at OnePeloton.com slash row.
you guys need to check this baby out. It's smooth and I was maybe a little turned on. Okay, back to the pot.
I do wish the best for all of them because I know how hard it is and it's challenging and fun and exciting. But like my mental health suffered so badly after the show. I can't imagine. It was because you get thrown into it overnight and it all happens. And I was just truly being myself. And then I was like, how can people hate me off? I'm just being me. And then I was like, oh shit, people hate me. And it was really hard. But yeah, it is tough.
I do know that you are both coming out with a podcast that is going to be around mental health,
which I love.
Your podcast will be coming out a few days from when this air is, which is exciting.
So tell us, what is the pod called?
Tell us all about it.
And why did you decide to do a mental health podcast?
Yeah.
So it's called The Squeeze, kind of a playoff of my lemons by Tay, my nonprofit,
The Lemons Foundation had to play off of the lemons.
But it's going to be mental health-based.
I really don't, I didn't even listen to a podcast before I decided I wanted to do it.
I just kind of woke up and I was like, I think I'm going to start a podcast and here we are, but it's really important, obviously, to talk about our mental health. And I think like the platform that I've been given, I want to use it to help people. Yeah. So we're going to have guests on, experts on. I just, we just want to talk to people. Like I just like, I love intentional conversation. I love like hearing people's stories. You can always learn something new from every conversation. So I think it's, I think it's going to be fun just to have people.
on talk about their journey where they were the squeeze of their mental health, the juice,
like when they were at their lowest, like how they got through things. I love that. I think that's a
great idea because, I mean, social media obviously has its ups and downs, but one of the things,
I mean, I share everything. I was like bawling my eyes out on Instagram the other day,
just being like, why? I don't know how I feel this way. But I think one of the good things about
platforms and Instagram and social media is feeling less alone with stuff like that because we're all
realizing, oh wait, we all suffer from that in some way. Like, it really has helped us to not
feel alone. So, and I love it too because Instagram, you know, you can do 30 second videos or
two minute video or whatever. But a podcast, you can have just full authentic conversation for like
an hour and really have meaningful conversation that people can just on a, you know, commute to work
or a drive or a run or a walk or cleaning. Whatever you're doing, you can just pop it in your ears
and be like, oh my gosh, that just did something for my soul for an hour. You know what I mean? So I love
that you're doing that. I want to, I want people to know a little bit more about your
foundation because that's where this is all, you know, coming from and inspired by. So tell us
about your foundation. Yeah. It's called the Lemons Foundation. It's a nonprofit organization
that our goals coming into this new year we're going to do, I want to do a lot more outreach.
I made myself not do some of the things I wanted to do with it last year because we were planning
wedding. We were moving. So I was like, we got to focus on that because I want to be able to
give it 100% but we just want to like reach people help people like support them
encourage them through mental health because it there's no like one cookie cutter way totally
there's just so many ways we want to support people in that regard but also like provide
resources or I share a lot of like things that have helped me with whatever are just just kind
of sharing my experience because again like I do have this platform and I'm like what good am I
doing just like not sharing even though sometimes it definitely is scary but oh it yeah
Of course. That is, I mean, it's anything you do and put yourself out there, it's going to be scary. And I, you're both doing the podcast, right? Is it going to be the two of you? Yeah. It'll be both of us. Yeah. I'll be there supporting her. But I mean, it's her baby. And she's not going to like, she's not bragging about herself right now. But though I don't know where she came from. Like I feel like why we're both passionate about it is I feel like we both individually weren't thinking about our mental health.
As of somewhat recently.
And, you know, I feel like I just like just push things under that like I like dealt with growing up and didn't realize that like what I went through isn't completely normal.
But that aside, Tay was a nurse through.
She got thrown in like she graduated nursing school and started being a nurse right when COVID hit.
Oh, wow.
So she, yeah.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, she wasn't planning on, like, you were going into, um, I wanted to do just like outpatient surgery stuff, but then they all closed because of COVID.
Yeah.
And all the units became COVID.
Yeah.
And it was like, surprise, this is what you're doing.
Wow.
And for a year, she was just at, like, the height of COVID.
And it was really, it was tough for her and both of us, you know, she'd come home after night shifts and just like seeing the craziest, saddest things.
I'm kidding.
And, you know, it was a rough time.
and she was just a warrior through it
and she just
she wanted to find a way
to help and impact more people
so yeah I'm super proud of her
for doing this and
that's awesome yeah she's crushing it
uh-huh I mean I barely know you but I'm like I'm proud of you too
I mean any time like I loved what people were doing for nurses
like cheering for doctors and nurses when they were like that whole thing
I'm like because you guys really were just like heroes
like actual heroes at that time.
So, and you probably did, yes, see a lot.
And, you know, starting, when did you start your foundation?
I launched it in June of last year.
Yeah.
Amazing.
Oh, good for you.
Just like six.
Yeah.
So how can people go and support or like look it up or.
Yeah.
So we have the Instagram Lemons by Tay.
That's kind of like our sister.
They're like one and the same.
But that's kind of where I share like blog posts or products,
resources, whatever, that's kind of like our little overhead.
But Lemons by Tays, the Instagram, we post all the encouraging all the mental health stuff.
She crushes it.
I love it.
Good for you.
I see like her posts in the morning.
Like, when did you come up with this?
Yeah.
I love this.
That's awesome.
I really love when people do stuff like that with a platform because like you said, it's, you've got one.
Why not use it for good?
And especially it probably reached so many people that changed their.
life sometimes you know what i mean you never know how big of a difference you're making i want to know
some of the questions that you're going to be asking um your guests to dig deeper into their mental health
i think a big thing that i want to ask people just kind of like not what's the most misunderstood
thing about you but i just have a weird a cool perspective because i didn't grow up in the industry at all
like very like dating taylor was the first my first glimpse into that and right is taylor that
grew up in the spotlight and like the views not that we have different views on things but like
when taylor's approach taylor's been misunderstood his whole life not really but like the media
just portrays you in a certain way or can and just like so many people like like the show does
yeah they edit it like there's just so many ways like people read an article they're like oh this is
they just read the headlines yeah and i've never been on the other side of it right before
dating taylor and now like learning like that whole side of it like i just want to talk to people and
hear like their side yeah like their side of it and how you deal with it yeah yeah that's not easy
for any one I mean maybe some people are able to just be like I don't know if it I don't know I can't
imagine I feel like those people who are doing this are actually doing this so you know what I mean
exactly who would like be a dream guest for you to have on the podcast to talk to about that
my go to is otcho I know I love otto really yeah the football player yeah yeah he's just I just
I just have so much respect for that guy he's just we we know him he's he's he's a
friend. So I'll definitely, I'll show if you're watching. He's definitely watching. He's going to be
hitting you up at some point. He definitely listens to Off the Vine podcast. Yeah.
Gets his tea from there. Yeah, that's what this is where he gets a celebrity gossip. He's great.
That's no, that's a good guess because you could and probably very doable. Oh, the holistic
psychologist. Oh. Her Instagram is the holistic psychologist. Okay. I'm definitely following that
one. Say less. She wrote the book, how to do the work.
Oh, I've heard of that.
If you want to be wrecked, read that book.
I love getting wrecked.
Did you see her Instagram?
Sign me up.
Yeah, I'm like, and this is the time for me to do it.
Prera.
Okay.
Yeah, the holistic psychologist.
I'm definitely doing that right now so I don't forget.
She just came out with a doctor.
And Dr. Ayman.
And Dr. Amon.
He's very big into like brain scans and like.
Oh, did he do?
No, Caitlin.
Did he do the Kardashians on that episode?
Because they just did this brain scan thing.
He did.
He did.
He did.
He did.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay.
Then I don't feel silly saying.
I was like, not me bringing up the Kardashians.
That's so cool.
Where can people, like, do you have a trailer out or a thing where people can, you know, sign up to listen?
Yes.
There is a trailer out by now.
And it's on Spotify, Apple.
All the places.
We're at the squeeze on Instagram and on YouTube.
Yeah.
And so people can watch it on YouTube.
People can listen wherever they find their podcasts.
Okay.
Get our content from the squeeze.
Yeah.
We're just going to chat.
Yeah.
I love it.
I feel like podcasting and I say this almost every podcast is just one of the only times people sit down and like have real conversation these days.
And it's nice to listen to them too because you realize how much you're missing that in your life is just a good intimate conversation.
For sure.
And people just love podcasts.
I think that's why.
You know, we're missing that like connection sometimes.
sometimes and you feel that when you're listening to a podcast.
So I'm excited for you too.
I think you're just both really unique special humans with good hearts and I'm excited
for whatever you do next and I'll be listening to the podcast.
Oh, I'm so glad I converted you to Team Caitlin.
I can't believe it.
I'm Caitlin Bristow.
