Starting point is 00:02:37 things up here's katelyn welcome to off the line i'm your host kately bristow and today i'm sitting down with a newly official nashville resident very excited someone i'm happy to call my friend you guys know her from her time on the bachelor and bachelor in paradise where she made a fast impression on viewers everywhere as a southern girl who knows what she wants. Snap, snap, snap. We're at my home studio today, drinking spade and sparrows, catching up on what's new in her life, and to find out if those rumors that she's running for the bachelorette may be true. Please welcome to the podcast, Tia Booth.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Thank you. Yeah, you know what? You're so welcome. I like how you say running for the bachelorette, like it's a presidential election. Yeah, I'm voting for you. I have, like, a sign of your face on my lawn. I'm like I'm going to do that. I'm going to do that.
Starting point is 00:03:28 I'm going to make a big fake sign with your face on it. It says Tia for Bachelorette and put it in my grass this weekend. I'm doing it. I am. I'm doing it. I mean, when they don't decide, you can still do whatever you want. I'm still going to root for you and vote for you for next year. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Wait, how old are you? 28. That's the perfect age. That is literally the perfect age to be the Bachelorette. You already knew what you want them before. Now you know more than ever. Even more. I think it would be more ready now than I would have been two years ago.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Totally. Because I dealt with it. I came back to the real world. And now I'm like, okay. And you've managed to like stay humble, which I love. And you went back to your job and you like, you know, did what you had to do. And then you're like, now I'm ready to make the move to Nashville. Right.
Starting point is 00:04:13 Now I'm ready to like call the shots. Right. If they don't pick you, I'm going to raise hell. I will. I'm going to raise hell. I was looking back at the last time we did a podcast. together which was in 2018 yeah it's two it's 2020 that's so crazy yeah um so when we did the live show with you and blake so long ago um we're talking about how colton was announced as a bachelor
Starting point is 00:04:33 and we're all bitter but now do you feel like that was a million years ago so long ago like i forget that that even happened so long ago and that same weekend we did the podcast i met my now ex-boyfriend the same weekend so i like that seems like forever ago because we've been in a relationship right and out right and moved on yeah and that was the last time we i like that because so much can happen in a year and a half yeah it did so much growing and evolving and did you learn so much through the last breakup too oh for sure isn't like for sure and we talked about it actually after that because i felt weird for not feeling sad or felt guilty for not being so heartbroken and you were like well it's because you've come into your own and you are more
Starting point is 00:05:19 confident and know what you want and you're more self-assured and you know you're okay without them right i think one of the most important things to remember in a breakup is that you're okay without them and if you're not then that's a problem right i didn't need you yeah i wanted you right we tried yeah i gave it my all yeah you didn't probably didn't but here we are but that's the thing how old was he 34 oh damn he has no excuse right right i feel like guys take it maybe this is just me because I'm a woman and I'm like yeah but I feel like women learn so much through through through that affects their heart and emotions they take it and we learn from it and we grow and then we learn for next time and each time might you know still not be the one but you keep
Starting point is 00:06:06 learning through those times where guys just do the same shit over and over and just go the next wrong honey it might be you yeah no one you're the common denominator you like figure it out there's one thing here and it's you right i know i'd say you want to shake them and be like this could be great but it's you're not allowing it to be even with the next one it's like you could have something great with someone but you haven't figured your shit out right to do that like it's not even it doesn't even have to be me exactly one come on because we wouldn't date them in the first place if we thought they're big pieces of shit right we see some good we see the potential and i don't know if you're like this i didn't think I was but maybe subconsciously I was are you a fixer oh 1,000% see I didn't think I was
Starting point is 00:06:53 looking back now maybe I was a little bit but I think a lot of people want to fix and help and everybody's got that motherly instinct or wanting to take care of somebody but you learn over and over again doesn't work and it's hard to stray away from being a fixer I figured out because when I was younger I would date guys that had family issues or whatever because I'm like I can feel that void for them yeah well the last one had a great family had all these things going for him and i still wanted to fix him in some way it's like uh tired of fixing yeah i'm going to be already whole it's hard and that's hard and that's the thing too is i think from from outside looking in i think you work on yourself to be whole right and i think that's why you weren't so devastated and
Starting point is 00:07:40 heartbroken and can't go on because you were just you'd worked you've done the work you've put that work in on yourself and and you felt or feel whole or close to or you're working towards it. Right. And and if somebody else isn't keeping up with you or growing with you, then bye. Bye. Bye for now. Sorry. Bye.
Starting point is 00:08:00 I got to go be the bachelor. I see. Chris, call us. Oh, I'm going to text him right now. And wait, who's calling me from Lyndon, New Jersey? It's Chris Harrison. Can you imagine? We heard Tia's on your podcast.
Starting point is 00:08:13 We have news for her. All right. So Mr. Chris Harrison was telling me about this crazy party Hulu through in Beverly Hills with all the biggest reality TV stars from like every show. And now I have to watch the commercials to see what happened like everyone else. I don't usually get FOMO, but in this case, I have extreme FOMO here. Luckily for you, Hulu has the reality TV that you love. So start your free trial today at Hulu.com. How terrified would you be to actually have a relationship that worked out of the show?
Starting point is 00:08:45 then have to, I'm clearly like bringing up some old emotions here, but I'm like, but how would you think about dealing with, because you've just been in the situation a couple times now. So how would you know to like, you know, still go through the show, experience each relationship, take it to the level that you need to to figure it out. And then how would you, would you be scared to have a relationship after of like watching that back with somebody? Terrified. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:10 Terrified because, um, apparently my picker is off. Like I think I picked these great people and then if I was thrown into a situation where I did have the control, but I was still having to trust the people around me to help me make those decisions, but they're also producing a TV show. It's like, yes, I want to go for the right person and invest in each one of those. And I think I'm at the point where not that I'm content, well, yeah, I kind of am, just content with being single. So I am open to the chance of having my heartbroken again. Like I'm ready for the possibility. of that because I know it could be something great but wait I love what you just said there because
Starting point is 00:09:49 I hate when people are like I'm looking for the last piece of whatever like I'm looking for that person to fill that last it's like no your whole you've done what you needed to do your content being single I think that's the most important mindset I haven't been at this place in a long long time that's great I'm just like a dating gal and always a relationship gal and I'm at the point I'm not trying I'm not looking I'm not on dating apps I'm not that's actively seeking it and I'm like I'm okay. Yeah. I'm okay.
Starting point is 00:10:17 That's exactly where you want to be. Yeah. And that's when the right person will come along or 25 of the right people. I hope they are at Publix in my neighborhood because I go there. Okay. So you've moved to Nashville. I have. And have you been going on dates here?
Starting point is 00:10:32 I have not. No. I mean, you've only been here for what? Two weeks. Okay. Okay. Wait. I thought it was way longer.
Starting point is 00:10:39 I'm like, okay, two weeks. That's fair. The opportunity has not. But you're not on dating apps. No, I'm not. That's great. Nashville's a tough place to meet people, I find. Why?
Starting point is 00:10:49 I thought it was better. Well, where were you before, Arkansas? Little Rock, Arkansas. Yeah. I mean, it's going to be a little more opportunities here than there. But I just, I mean, in general, like, I found even making girlfriends was tough here. Yes. So I'm glad that I already have established girlfriends here.
Starting point is 00:11:08 Because it is very different and interesting. In Arkansas, like, I know this sounds terrible. and crazy, whatever, but I'm the only person in Arkansas that's ever been on a TV show to ever do anything like that. So it's like coming here, it's like a small fish in a big pot. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Small fish in a big pond. Is that the same? Yeah. Instead of like big fish in a little pond, which I just came from. It's just, it's different. And I just, you know, thought about this the other days. I'm trying to start at a new gym and like trying to get back in a routine and it's hard to make friends as an adult. That's going to help you grow even more as a
Starting point is 00:11:48 person to step outside that comfort zone. Oh, I'm out of it. There. I'm out of it. And was that scary for you? Yes. Because it took you a few years because since we've been friends you wanted to move to Nashville. But what what came over to you to make the decision and say Tia? Stop your bitching and complaining and move to the great city of Nashville. So one of my biggest things was my job, my physical therapy job. I love my coworkers and loved where I was at work. It was super flexible. I could still do what I wanted. But then I got like there were a lot of changes that happened in the therapy world. And it just got to a point where I'm like, you know what? I can probably make a clean break. I can do it. Had the breakup. One of the things that was off about our relationship is that he
Starting point is 00:12:34 lived here in Nashville, but he wasn't ready for me to move here after almost a year. He still didn't want me to be here so my lease was about to end at my apartment and I said you know what forget it yeah I'm not listening to him I'm put it like I put in to be month to month yeah so I could just decide to go when I wanted and it was not really out of spite but I was like you know what I'm gonna move yeah I said I wanted to be there regardless of if he was there or not and I just yeah you've wanted to before I mean yeah I remember the day you met him or we're going on a date with him and you wanted to move here yeah and so I'm glad I'm proud of you for like doing it because it's what you wanted to do yeah um yeah and i mean do you like cowboys because there's some cute
Starting point is 00:13:14 cowboys here um no i like more dirty oh like tattoo okay okay hmm i mean like they're not dirty but they might like they have the they have the potential to be dirty but they're still but they smell nice but mark our videographer is in here taking photos of videos he just rolled up his sleeves he just rolled up his sleeves with his tattoos And now he's flexing while he takes the photo. With his wedding ring on. He's like, oh, shoot, forgot about that. That's amazing.
Starting point is 00:13:44 He's Canadian. He's got a sense of humor. Oh, I love it. Canadians are the best. Aren't they? Maybe I need a Canadian. You know what? There's some rough little tattooed Canadian boys out there.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Dog hair. Are they in Nashville? No. But we could get them here. Like, I cannot meet the love of my life that far away after the movie. The good news is there's so many imports of different people. people all over the city like you're gonna you're not gonna have a hard time meeting somebody i shouldn't say that um but i mean i don't know but in yourself out there's hard it's so hard and i just think
Starting point is 00:14:18 especially you've grown up in such a small town and have been in such a routine and it's so easy to get stuck in that and it's so hard to make that change even though to us on the outside it seems like a no-brainer like why would tia booth not move to nashville and go after what she wants she's going to get it but for you it's it's it's harder than that it is yeah it's it's different yeah um so let's talk about this season of the bachelor okay have you been watching i have and oh yeah you're sucked in yeah you are so what is your overall thought of peter as a bachelor um bless him okay this is going to come out the day after women tell all so i mean it's not like we're going to miss or we're not missing any okay so parts of me just want to hold him like a little
Starting point is 00:15:00 baby yeah just rock him and i think a lot of people are saying he's indecisive he doesn't know what he wants and I try to give him the benefit of the doubt in that he is he's sweet he doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings and he's especially earlier on he was hearing so many different opinions from so many different girls and all this drama and he was just you want the people that you trust I would assume like the girls that are vying for your love you want to be able to trust them and listen to what they're saying but at the same time you don't want anyone to be a tattletail and run to you with all their problems because that's not the point. But I don't know.
Starting point is 00:15:40 People are saying it's the worst season ever. I wouldn't say that at all. I think he's been into Maddie since day one. And it's hard for him to focus on other relationships. Yes, which totally makes sense. Yeah. But I feel like I'm biased. Well, I mean, he's so sweet that he, you know, he's like trying to please all the women and be respectful.
Starting point is 00:16:01 But he's trying to please producers and he's trying to please viewers. You have no clue what's even happening behind the scenes and what they're saying and what they're telling him and I kind of feel for him. What's your theory? Everyone has a theory this season. Okay. This is what I think. Okay. I'm ready for it. I think I think Maddie's great. I think they're all super young and not it's not just an age thing. I think there is some inexperienced there with relationships, but I think Maddie really stood her ground because I was in a situation on. the show where I talked about my faith a little bit, but if I would have been asked of fantasy
Starting point is 00:16:38 suites, I would have gone. You would have been in there. Right. So what I think happens is that Maddie, I call her Maddie like we're friends. Madison. She sticks around because she says, you know, I think this can work. Then towards the very end, she feels like she needs to leave. So she leaves. So then by this point, Victoria's gone because they don't really have a connection. So then he's faced with Hannah Ann. He's like, oh, my gosh, do I really want Hannah Ann at the end of this? Or am I really thinking about Maddie because she's gone? So then he doesn't pick anyone.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Yeah. And then filming continues after it's supposed to be all over. Yeah, that's how it's not. That's the only way that they don't have spoilers is because it's still being filmed. Right. It's the only way. I don't get the bit with his mom crying. I think it would be too obvious if it was about Madison.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Yeah. And how are they announcing? Okay. Well, let me just say this. If they're announced, it can't. be one of the last two to be bachelorette it can't but even even if it was top four wouldn't it still be weird if they haven't even like we at this point when this podcast comes out they have already announced bachelorette and then women tell all would air the same night so wouldn't it
Starting point is 00:17:51 still be weird if it was anyone from his season yeah because then it would be announced and then they would be arguing on women to all the same day you know what's going to be really interesting is if they do pick anyone from the season seeing you know how they put the one girl in the hot spot in the last seat yes who's going to be sitting there right usually it's the last girl to go home right and then at the end is christmas say oh p s yeah they just announced it on gm a here's your right like no i'm so curious how they're going to do this it's a lot my mind is racing of course and even colton tweeted saying he thinks you should be the lead he did yeah what did you think when he tweeted that we we all do let me listen them all i'm just more focused on your ex here
Starting point is 00:18:33 I thought it was cute I thought he said that I appreciate the support he said something on Twitter and on Instagram I mean he never said anything to me beforehand I just have seen him post about it
Starting point is 00:18:46 I don't know I feel like maybe me and him are in the same position and that he feels like I deserve the chance to after all the stuff with him and Becca and everything that happened they both got their happy endings
Starting point is 00:18:57 totally we need to finish out the triangle right we can all have closure move on I love closure I love a good closure of me too that's why some people are saying hannah b is going to be the bachelor again but you can't go back to back maybe in like a couple years yeah but not back to back and i also feel like she had such a good season that you want to leave it on a high and she won the mirror ball yeah yeah yeah she's real high
Starting point is 00:19:17 yeah yeah yeah she could just keep that potential where i feel like it would go yeah very risky for her yeah all right do you own or rent your own home i bet you do and i bet it can be hard work i know from experience you know it's easy bundling policies with geico guycoe go makes easy to bundle your homeowners or renters insurance along with your auto policy. And that's a good thing too because you already have so much to do around your home. Go to geico.com, get a quote, see how much you could save. It's Geicoeasy. Visit geico.com today. That's G-E-I-C-O.com.
Starting point is 00:19:53 Now, let's say you don't get picked as a bachelor. Would you go back on Paradise? I don't think so. Really? Never say never is what I've been saying, but I don't know. my stint with that was not great especially if it's going to be a lot of younger guys like I'm really into this like for the real thing not just a full around and yeah because you're I cannot be the husband I cannot but but is there anyone from bachelor nation that you would
Starting point is 00:20:19 consider if they were on paradise no oh not really really it just but it also depends on who they have cast right now that's true that we don't know yeah yeah yeah yeah And that will depend on the age of who the Bachelorette is that they pick. And there's so much to think about it. And it all happens so fast. I know. I try not to intermingle with the Bachelor Nation people because then it gets hairy. And I know.
Starting point is 00:20:45 Well, I want to know what's next for you outside the Bachelor world. Because you have so much going on and you have so much potential and you're in the new city and you're just like, you're new to you're ready to go. What are you going to do? So I think my biggest thing lately has just been the move and getting here. in focusing on that um obviously very thankful for social media and for the opportunities that happen with that we have a trip coming up yes we do australia oh my gosh it's so fun we need to podcast again from there and i'll be our fourth time podcasting in my only podcast exclusive we signed yeah we're married in the podcast world but no i would love to go back to work um i'm still
Starting point is 00:21:27 licensed in arkansas just renew my license there so i need to get my license in tennessee so I'm able to work. I want to be able to work because I want to because I love what I do, not because I have to. That's kind of my short term. My long-term goals are always kind of undetermined. Yeah. And it's a little scary, but. Yeah, but I said this on another podcast.
Starting point is 00:21:49 I can't remember if it was on mine or someone else's, but Jason was talking about, I think this is online. Jason was talking about his like grandparents not understanding what he does. And he was like, yeah, that means I'm doing something right. and I hope when I'm older, I don't understand what my kids are doing because they're not following that blueprint. It is very hard to explain. Yeah. And especially for not just my family, but everyone where I come from, they're like, wait, you're going to move and not have a PT job. That is insane.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Yeah. Why would you ever do that? There's no security. Absolutely. Because it makes you happy and because you can. Then that's enough reason. I feel so lucky that I can even take a break from work right now and kind of clear my head and really figure out that that is what I love to do. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:30 And just take this time for myself and take these trips and do all these fun things. I can work forever. And that, exactly. And that will be where you're going to be on the right path because you're doing what makes you happy. Right. Bottom line. Right. That's, you will end up in the right place and you will do the right things because you're, you're not following the blueprint of what Arkansas says you should do.
Starting point is 00:22:53 Exactly. Yeah. And I've convinced all my friends to quit their jobs. But I do that too. For the best. Oh, yeah. One of my best friends. at home the biggest reason why it was so hard for me to leave um she actually i mean she put in her notice just finished her last day and is doing a different career that it's going to be better for
Starting point is 00:23:10 her child and her future and i'm like get it girl there's no better time than now there are so many ways to make money you don't have to do something that you're not so happy with even like people who already have kids or moms who feel like you know well now i can't do this yes you can sit down and what do you feel like writing a book about motherhood or something like do whatever that your inner like your little heart is telling you to do do it right i mean i'm totally on the same i know it's not it sounds easy but like do it just do something that makes you happy and see where it takes you even if it doesn't bring you money just your quality of life right or even if it's terrifying yeah it will be so much better
Starting point is 00:23:53 i totally agree like all the people who have these crazy stories are the biggest risk takers yeah All the ones that have, you know, gone and done and end up being like, whoa, I got here. I'm here. I've arrived. Right. It's the people that have been terrified and scared and went outside of their comfort zone. And it takes time, of course. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:12 But you, that time would be going by anyway doing something you didn't enjoy. And that's why you need to find such a solid group of, like, supportive women or if you're a man listening, I highly doubt it, there's like five. But like, just a supportive group of people, you know, that will challenge you or, you know, encourage you. And just having having that support system is huge. Yeah. We have this girl group in Nashville, which I'm forcing you to be a part of now. Oh, I'm down. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:50 Elena's in the group. It's, we're called the dirty bookers. Oh, perfect. Um, and we're just like, we say we're a book club. We're not. We just hang out of. Uh, but they're just, our group techs are usually group techs annoy me. This one just inspires the shit out of it. Oh. Put me in it. You're in. Okay. You're in. And everyone's just so championy. each other. Is that a word championing? Sure. Sure. We champion each other. We champagne each other. Champagne. We champagne each other. That too. I want to do big words. Okay. I leave that for Jason. He's the well-spoken one, not me. But it's just so it's incredible to have a good group of people. And again, that's going to just. I had that leaving home too, which was great. Like my friends were sad for me to leave, but they were so encouraging and so excited for me to do something different. you know, they didn't get to do or they won't ever, you know, be able to do it because they have kids or whatever and they're rooted in Arkansas. They were rooting for me to come.
Starting point is 00:25:37 That's amazing. Because the last thing you need is someone trying to hold you back because they wish they did it. Right. That's the whole thing I talk about with like empowerment and people want to say they're empowering, but it's all in the actions and how you do it and actually, and having it really make you happy. Like that's nice that your girlfriends are happy for you and encourage you to do it. Rather be like, oh, no, be stuck with me. Right. Not that they're stuck, but I mean, you I need to do that, but they also came and helped me pack. So I'm like, okay, thank you. That's so nice.
Starting point is 00:26:03 And how far is it from here? Five hours. It's drive a lot. Drive, yeah. Okay. I'm like, Canadian, I don't know. Yeah, there's no direct flight. We'll be back with more Off the Vine with Caitlin Bristow.
Starting point is 00:26:19 Off the Vine with Caitlin Bristow. I mean, you probably don't have any good embarrassing dating stories from Nashville because you've already been, you've only been here for two weeks. But do you have any good confessions? for me because it's that time of the podcast where we confess our sins. I'm trying to think if I have one. Anything in Nashville? It doesn't matter. Whatever, whatever something comes to your mind, that's something humiliating
Starting point is 00:26:49 that you want to confess to me. Drink more wine if you need to think about it. I don't know if I have anything as humiliating as last. time i try not to put myself in those situations i have had a few moments well the last one was from moving yes it was oh so this time yes yeah i knew there'd be something in there it was for moving i talked about hiding all my all your dildos things sorry that we've all got them but you yeah i had them even better this time a bag and a bag and a back and because you had labeled it something different super important shit super important shit you labeled it
Starting point is 00:27:28 That's so funny. This is another confession with packing. Do you have another one? No, there's not another. Oh, okay. I'm excited. Then I was able to find them when I'm, it was fine. Oh.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Well, what's your new one? I have no stories with that, but it's been so long. I feel like it's been 84 years since a man has been in this region. Are there, are there, um, cobwebs? There are. It's terrifying. Do you do laser hair removal, by the way? I have.
Starting point is 00:27:58 Because if you haven't, I have someone for you in Nashville. I meant to ask you because I need to do it all over again. Oh, oh, why? Because it came back. Aggressively or just subtly? Subtally, but it's annoying. Yeah. Because I paid all that money and went through all that pain.
Starting point is 00:28:14 Oh, yeah. Is it painful where you go? Yeah. Oh, damn. I mean, it doesn't tickle, but it's. I thought it was pain free. It's, I put, I slap some numbing cream on there and sometimes take a Xanax. All over again.
Starting point is 00:28:27 Well, go to my girl. Anne at Elan's skin. She's amazing. And she'll do your facials and stuff. Yeah, it's so good. All right. So quick break, because if you're looking for a fun way to pass the time while engaging your brain, which is very important, and enjoying breathtaking visuals and a gripping
Starting point is 00:28:43 story, I've got the answer for you, and it's Best Fiends. All right. So Best Fiends is a casual puzzle game, love puzzles, meaning you can spend as much or as little time playing, but probably a lot, if we're being honest. It's full of these really, really cute little characters, and they're actually bugs. They're still so cute. I don't know how bugs are cute, but they are here. But honestly, it's just so much fun to play and try to get to level after level. I personally like to challenge my friends to see who can get to the furthest level. The quickest, I admit it,
Starting point is 00:29:12 I'm very competitive. Jason and I always said we'd be so good on Amazing Race because we're both so competitive. I also love that Best Fiends engages your brain so you don't have to feel guilty about playing all the time. You're just working out your brain. Duh. And another great thing about the game is that it doesn't require Wi-Fi. So if you're traveling just in a spot where you can't get internet, it's not a problem. It's truly a unique and exciting puzzle experience. Unlike any other puzzle games out there, Best Fiends updates the game monthly with new levels and events, so it never gets old, never gets boring. They truly treat the game like a service for their players, so they're always making cool updates and adding new things to the game. Engage your brain with the fun puzzles
Starting point is 00:29:52 and collect tons of cute characters. Trust me, with over 100 million downloads, this five-star rated mobile puzzle game is a must play download best fiends free on the apple app store or google play that's friends without the r best fiends okay i'm trying to think of like a confession for you me too me too um like no um no waxing stories no makeout drunk stories i wish who doesn't love a good drunk makeout no i can't even get that what right come on No, I swear. Because you're picky, which is good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:29 That's good. Yeah, I guess. But it's like I go after the people that aren't really interested and like, don't. And I'm like, look, I'm not trying to date you. I just want to make out with you. Do you not see this? Usually people want that. This is like the most that I have.
Starting point is 00:30:48 Okay. I knew I would like spark something in there. But it's not a good makeout. I wish it was, but it wasn't. um so this guy that i actually did go out with here yeah once yeah um everything was fine it was great conversation was great and then it just went from like everything to nothing like super fast on your partner hits uh his mostly but then it just kind of fizzled out yeah so i saw him in town oh god last weekend and we just never really had good closure so we never really established like where
Starting point is 00:31:23 we were leaving off like i knew we were friendly whatever hey how are you good to see you okay so we're getting in an uber to go to the next place and he like found a girl at the bar and like had her in the same uber as you guys was in nope and another guy no sir good thing daniel was in the car oh bless her heart and she was like tia you deserve way more i'm like i know yeah i know but it was just a little how it was just a little fling it was a little fling it was fine me and him were not like talking on that level yeah but what a douche canoe move it was so awkward but how how socially stupid do you have to be to think that was a good idea i don't know how drunk you are right there's and i'm just in the back of the car like hi did this girl no no oh it's even she found
Starting point is 00:32:18 out okay she found out and she was like uh i'm in innocent in this situation. Oh, good for her. Oh, I would have been crying. Oh, me too. I was saying, in my head. I'm like, good for her. She stood her ground and was like, I'm sorry, but I, I'm like, yeah, girl, you.
Starting point is 00:32:33 That's actually really funny. Yeah. So how long was this Uber ride? I have questions. So we were going downtown. Yeah. We didn't make it to where we wanted to be because the person in the front seat was like, I'm getting out of this car ride.
Starting point is 00:32:48 You should have been Instagram on Instagram live. I was like a deer in headlights. I was just stunned. Everyone's looking at me. I'm like, I got nothing. The heck. I got nothing to say.
Starting point is 00:33:00 What a dumb, dumb. But then, because I'm dumb and... Well, he's dumber. I haven't had any action in a while. Yeah. So... The cobwebs right.
Starting point is 00:33:10 Right. We get to the next place. Everything's fine. He comes back without the girl. So then we all end... Try to wheel you? What? Oh, that's a Canadian thing.
Starting point is 00:33:22 Did you try to wheel you, like, get in there? No, no, he didn't. But I still try to text him when I got home. No! Yeah. But I didn't know until the next day. I'm like, I didn't mean what I said. You're like, take it back.
Starting point is 00:33:37 I take it all back. That's so funny. But remember that I don't want to date you. Just want to make out. Yes. Yeah. Gosh. So that was that.
Starting point is 00:33:47 You know what? We'll wash away your sins with the wine. Thank you. And we all forgive you. And we've all been there. Maybe not that certain situation, but we've all made dumb, drunk mistakes. Yes. Because then I automatically feel like I have to apologize the next day.
Starting point is 00:34:01 I hate waking up feeling dumb or guilty or like, excuse my behavior. Yeah. It won't happen again. It might. But we can't promise. No promises. I'm trying to think of a good one because I'm like on that same note. Like the other day, I remember waking up and Jason was.
Starting point is 00:34:21 was kind of annoyed at me. And I'm like, ooh, did I see something last night? Oh, it happens. Yeah. And you just don't even know or remember. That's the worst. Yeah, I don't know what I don't know what I said. When it has to be explained to you later.
Starting point is 00:34:32 And he's such a guy to let it go where I'm like, I don't want to ask and bring it up. Because then he'll be like, yeah, you're. It'll start all over. Yeah, it'll start all over. And then you don't want him to be harboring anything. Yeah, that's true too. He's not a big harborer. I'm just an overanilizer, though.
Starting point is 00:34:49 Me too. Are you, um, do you? do you get really emotional on your period? Oh yeah, I'm on it now. Oh, me too. Yeah. Sink up, sister? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Kay, do you get super emotional? Yes. It literally, last night, I overthought everything everybody said. Yep. And then you go back to not period life and you're like, oh. Wow. What a joke. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:10 It's not fair. It's not fair. I did all this blood work the other day. My testosterone, my estrogen, my progesterone, like did it all to be like, what's wrong with me right i can't put anyone through this anymore especially myself no see i'm not either so i stopped because i felt like it was making me nuts oh yeah birth control i not we're not friends on paradise i started a new birth control i cried exactly that is brave the pharmacy changed it so then i cried every day on paradise i feel like i was on my period the whole time on paradise so then
Starting point is 00:35:47 after that after my last relationship I was like you know what I'm off of it yeah so I feel like all that is kind of back balancing out but I am still emotional dang man birth control is the devil being a woman is really a bitch it's like the most rewarding but also the most challenging right and I wish I always wish Jason's getting better because I mean he grew up with a brother he kind of like his his mom is so awesome and positive and happy and like she's just so wonderful that I'm like shit that's what I want to be I wish I could be Dale Tardick but I'm just like so emotional and so it's like this is all kind of new for him and I'm like well what you've dated another girl for like four years yeah was she
Starting point is 00:36:34 perfect right why she's so much better right all I hear about her great she's like I'm like freak I'm with you now what's the wrong with you I'm like yeah but what was she like oh she went to harvard oh okay she did not cry one tear nope and i have a high school graduation it's okay i'm doing just fine it's fine it's fine everything's fine i'm trying to think of a good confession but honestly i know i feel like there has to be no you had a good one but it's nothing like that serious my driving in nashville is piss poor oh you need to tighten up your game then because i hate bad drivers in nashville oh i ran a red light one day Tia booth. Right in front of my apartment. I've cut at least four U-turns. Oh, boy. I mean, on the way here today, I was not used to the big city in Nashville. God knows where. Sometimes I make notes in my phone of confessions.
Starting point is 00:37:32 Oh, I can't wait. Oh, what is it? Oh, my God. I was out the other night in Buffalo. And in Buffalo, you drink and you eat. That's, you know, it's two things that I'm very powerful. passionate about I'm very good at and I did that and I remember saying something I remember being like oh I got to write that down for a confession and I didn't think I did and the other day I was like what was I saying I just looked at my notes I wrote it down oh my God I'm dying this is so funny forgive me Lord for I've sinned that Jason don't listen to this I was 22 I think I was 22 and I had a serious case of bacterial vaginosis oh boy yeah oh boy it was not fun. I had met this guy. Was I even 22? I don't remember. I was young. And he was like so cute and so good looking and so successful and such a good family. And he was just the full package. And I just didn't know. We had been dating for a while now and I would not hook up with him. Right. Because I was like, well, no, and you can, it's awful. Smelly. It's. Smelly. it's it really is it's disgusting and it's not our fault it's not it's not you with me i swear i promise you it's not you it's not me it's my vagina betrayed me it really did it betrayed me so hard and i was
Starting point is 00:39:01 like i don't know what to say to the point where he actually broke up with me thinking i had an std because i started talking about yeah and i didn't because he started being like look this is getting weird And so I had to tell him something. I was like, I have a bacterial infection because I felt so bad that he was like, what's wrong with this? And I was like, I've got a bacteria. And then he was like, yo. Yeah, got to go.
Starting point is 00:39:25 That sounds like it's forever. Yeah. I got to go. He was literally like, hmm, it's been a couple weeks. So got to go. GTG. It was humiliating. And I wanted to like bring him the doctor's note.
Starting point is 00:39:42 I swear I have BV I have BV it's not an SDD It's common It's weird of yeast infection Right I mean it's in the same
Starting point is 00:39:53 Oh my gosh And I hope he's listening today Because I hope his wife I can vouch It was real It was real And I still to the day
Starting point is 00:40:06 It still haunts me That he probably thinks I had an STD Yeah Like he used to come into the restaurant that I worked at too after and you could tell there's always like still something but he'd be like damn she had an STD and you know he told his friends totally he told all of his friends yeah yeah so that sucks I was like I'm glad I wrote that down because I'm like wait what was
Starting point is 00:40:27 in my notes and I'm like look this is what the notes said BV it said having BV when I was dating a guy and he told everyone I had an S TV dang god yeah Okay, I wish I would have forgot about that one. Anyways, we're going to play a game. Yeah, don't think about it too much. It's haunted me for about 12 years now. Okay. All right, everyone, the next sponsor's name truly says it all.

Starting point is 00:44:06 The last time you made out with someone. Um, November. The guy, the Uber guy. The guy and the Uber that was with the other chick in the Uber. You made out with him? Yeah. When we went out in November. Oh, oh, oh, oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:44:25 Sorry, I thought you met that night. I was like, wait a second. That's why I was so emotionally tied. Yeah, of course. PMS. It all makes sense. Hook up. You don't have to, you don't have to.
Starting point is 00:44:35 That was the one. Yeah. Starting point is 00:45:51 end. I was like, you know what? Slid right off the chair, didn't you? Absolutely. Yeah, I know. In a room full of women. Didn't even care. I was like, do I cry?
Starting point is 00:46:01 Am I in love? Yeah. so good i get it i am jason was saying the other day he was like talking about germany he's like i'm so excited for you to go i was like i know he's like my other hall pass and he was like wait what oh i love but only dermot on stage i don't know i'm on stage so i can't say anything i just his stage presence is just this like no his music just puts me in a vibe oh oh so i can't even talk yep i literally am slipping off my chair right now we're done with we're done with Fox.
Starting point is 00:46:32 I'm done. Oh my gosh, term it. I love you. Yeah, so I stalked him on Instagram. Wait, who did you stock?
Starting point is 00:46:39 I think he was clear. Oh, yes, Claire. Yeah. Okay. Last bad hangover you had today. No,
Starting point is 00:46:45 you paste yourself. Yeah, today wasn't bad last weekend. It's a full day of postmates. I did twice. It's my first official weekend in Nashville last weekend. And it was... I do postmates three times a day sometimes.
Starting point is 00:46:58 Oh. Then I'm officially. You should be proud of that. Yeah. Yeah. No, be proud. But I had hattie bees
Starting point is 00:47:03 and it was so hot I couldn't eat it. Spicy? Yeah. Do you like spice? I do. And my palate was just so fucked up. Really?
Starting point is 00:47:11 That I couldn't even handle. You're like slaughtering everywhere? The mack and cheese. What mack and cheese isn't even spicy? Oh, it was. Oh, it was. That day. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:21 Last hangover every weekend. That's moving on. Well, it's Nashville. That's what you're supposed to do here. Last person from the back. bachelor you spoke to besides me uh last night gin so viano oh yeah yeah yeah i'm like who there's probably like 80 gens yeah oh yeah okay she lives in nashville right yeah yeah yeah didn't she like date sean for a hot minute i have no clue to that history dating i don't know if it was dating oh they have
Starting point is 00:47:49 i don't know if it was technically dating i just found this out someone sent me a screenshot of something i was like oh really people have sent me DMs oh you're in nashville you and sean should date but Caitlin and Jen both said he's bad. I'm like, Jen. When did that happen? I'm not confirming or denying anything, but you should see how he treated Caitlin and Jen. I'm like, is that what they said? Oh, these DMers are nutso.
Starting point is 00:48:12 Oh, man. Netso. With the shared photo of. Oh, shit. Yeah. Okay. You and Caitlin have matching tattoos. How dare you?
Starting point is 00:48:21 Oh, well, you know what? That's fine. You just date whoever your little heart doesn't. but you guys are probably like third cousins so maybe don't do that actually um text last text you sent um to my two best friends from home because they were asking about bachelorette rumors and they were nervous because i wasn't responding so i said they're like are you already gone a boom ring of the off the vine oh perfect that's amazing um last google search oh what's mine oh i see i don't know my phone's over there you can pull it up if you want i'm going to look up mine
Starting point is 00:48:56 history it could be the address to your house and what's the day well okay but it has to be oh mine is acrylic coffee table oh my gosh that's boring it is mine is who is mr clark in gray's anatomy i was like oh my have you watched it no what afraid to get invested because i'm so far behind now Yeah, but I just started like two months ago. And you're caught up? No? I'm not even close. See, here's the thing is I watched.
Starting point is 00:49:33 Mr. Clark was on season six. I watch shows like the office that I can just have on in the background. So if I fall asleep, it's not a big deal. No, I love. But if I get sucked into a show like Gray's is I actually have to focus and. That's true. Do you always waste a lot of my time? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:49 And I shouldn't have because last night was a doozy and I had nightmares. Well, yeah, I messaged you late. And you answered. I was shocked that you were... Well, because Pino had to go to the hospital. Otherwise, I would have been sleeping. We were very upset. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:01 I was not okay. I had to put on Gray's anatomy, which would fuck me up even more. I was like crying in my bed being like, oh, God, he has a tumor and he's going to die and the surgeons aren't going to be able to help him. Yeah, he's okay now. Thank God. But it is the worst. I can't. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:15 I cannot handle when the pups are sick. Yeah. Because you're like, talk to me. What's wrong? What's going on? Why is your body doing this? Did you eat a tampon? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:23 Something wrong. Which dogs do. Oh, that's what mine did when she was sick the last time. I thought she had like a blockage. Yeah, I remember talking to you about that. She had a tampon? Yes, she does it regularly, though, but she always poops it out. Oh.
Starting point is 00:50:37 But they think that she could have had, yeah, like some kind of blockage. So then she was puking and like waking me up like a newborn at 3 a.m. To go outside, it was. That's rough. Oh, yeah. Just a quick tampon snack. Jesus. I know you.
Starting point is 00:50:54 love me, but damn. My dogs are savages. Who eats tampons? All right. So if this is not your first time listening to this podcast, you've probably heard me talk about the next sponsor, one of my absolute faves. That's third love. So let me tell you why, because I like being comfortable, one.
Starting point is 00:51:11 And third love does bras differently. They believe every woman deserves to feel comfortable and confident, and that's definitely something I can support. Support. Starting point is 00:51:34 If you don't love it, you can return it for free, and they're going to donate it to a woman in need, which is so incredible. Another thing I love about Third Love bras is that they mold to my bod, and their sizes and labels are actually printed on the bra itself, so there's none of that itchy, scratchy tags, or anything getting in the way of your comfort. I actually don't know how I could go back after wearing it. these. So here's how you can get started and find your own new favorite part. Starting point is 00:52:03 60 seconds. There's over 15 million women who have taken the quiz to date. It's actually kind of fun. Starting point is 00:52:53 I'm generous, but I'm frugal. Right. Yeah. Like I like to save my money. I don't, even when I have money, I'm like, how do I invest or save or do something smart with this? I'm throwing it all in savings. Yeah. I mean, I've bought furniture for my place.
Starting point is 00:53:07 I would consider that. Furniture is expensive. Yeah. But are you a bag girl? Like, you like buying bags? No. I have no designer bags. Me either.
Starting point is 00:53:16 Because, I don't know. Like, if I'm going to take it to a place and have to set it on the floor in the bathroom, yeah which i could spend a thousand dollars on a couch right and not which bags are probably more than a thousand dollars i don't know what i really love to do is just have pockets and stick my id in a lip gloss in there it's amazing i hate bags i love a backpack though it's so functional traveling no just i carry a backpack as a purse huh oh like a cute one not like a like a yeah no i'm trying not to insult any brands i'm like not like a like a big duffel backpack oh no no no no no Like a small,
Starting point is 00:53:54 huge one. But I just, I love to put my money in savings. My fucking rent is about to be a big purchase. That's the biggest one. Well, what's your like guilty pleasure with spending money? What I spend the most money on is drinking and eating.
Starting point is 00:54:06 My two favorite pastimes. That's okay. It's great. I really don't. Yeah. But if like if I, like right now when I'm looking for stuff for my new apartment, it's not that I have a budget,
Starting point is 00:54:18 but if I can find something that is $200 instead of $600, I'm going to take. the time to look for it like i will spend that money on that because i know i have it but i'm gonna shop for a better deal yeah like when you're in the frugal mcdougal i don't know yeah but that's good you're setting yourself up for success like i would rather oh so like not long ago i just i bought flights for my family we were all going to atlanta see generous but frugal yeah like i would rather spend five hundred dollars on a flight yeah for my mom yeah than to go by a bag or something.
Starting point is 00:54:53 I don't know. That's sweet. More about experiences, I guess. Let me ask. I would never be able to do that. Let me ask you this. When you're in the grocery store and you're buying chicken, and there's a chicken, two chicken breasts, boneless, skinless. Yes.
Starting point is 00:55:09 And it's 1199. Yeah. But do you look into the back for an 1150 one and take that instead just to save yourself 20? Yeah. Yep. When you're in the bread aisle, are you like, Jesus Christ, $3.99 for a love of bread, but then buy a bottle at a bar and not think twice. Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:31 Okay. Yeah. That's me. Yeah. Yeah. It's just if there's a cheaper option, I'm probably going to go for it. Yeah. Even if it saves you 20 cents.
Starting point is 00:55:41 Yeah. God, I am officially 85 years old. No, I always laugh at myself for this in grocery stores. I'm literally like, sometimes we feed the dogs, it boiled. chicken if they have like upset tummies and I'm like I would have spent like $500 on everybody last night dinner and drinks and felt nothing and then the next sorry that's like a little bit of a humble brag but also like but you do do that the last time we had the podcast you refused to let us pay I love I love doing that stuff yeah and then especially when you're coming as a guest
Starting point is 00:56:13 on my podcast like I want to treat people I but then I'm in the grocery store buying the boys chicken and I'm like I want them to have good chicken but if I'm I'm going to see one for $11.99 and there's one behind it for $11.30. I'm getting that one. They're eating their own asses. I mean, they don't care about the nicest chicken. Ramen literally just went outside just to eat Ramos puk. He was like, get me outside. And I was like, oh, he's really got to go. No, he just wanted to eat Pino's Puk. Okay. Yeah. You know what? I'm going into the rapid fire questions and then we're done. Oh, okay. Okay. Favorite part so far about living in Nashville? very walkable everyone's been so nice so welcoming everybody is so nice okay next trip you're going to go on with me Australia gosh that's going to be fun favorite current celebrity crush oh it's rapid huh mm-hmm first thing of Kennedy ah yeah that's a good one that's a good one
Starting point is 00:57:10 yeah it has to be the first thing that comes to your mind favorite piece of advice you've ever received. Oh, I'm not good at rapid. Well, that's as rapid as you can. There's not a stopwatch here. Okay. There's been so much good advice. Um, okay, Raven is like the best advice. She's a little guru. She told me, right. Like, so after my last relationship, I told her I felt dumb or like I was wasting time or it was another filled relationship but she said every failed relationship is getting you to the right one it's so true it's so cheesy
Starting point is 00:57:47 but like this broken road that you have been on is leading you to where you're supposed to be and and who I love to hear stories of the people that have gotten there and all that because nobody is like yep found the one unless you are like one of the lucky ones
Starting point is 00:58:03 but that's which is a lot of people where I'm from oh okay okay okay they've been with the same person forever are they the happiest maybe not like i would rather wait 10 more years and be single and wait for the right one and god bless those people that found their one in high school because right what a beautiful thing if you can find somebody in high school and grow with them exactly instead of a part and make it work god that's a beautiful thing very rare though very rare yeah like even the girls on the show now it doesn't seem like 23 and 28 or so far apart but i learned so much about myself
Starting point is 00:58:34 in those years in that period of time so true that's that's great advice i love raven so much She's the best. She is. Biggest regret from your time on the franchise. Going to Ari and talking about another girl. Oh, I don't even remember that. But it was just, it was very brief. Like when I, this season, all the girls did it.
Starting point is 00:58:56 But when I was on, it was very, very taboo and wrong. But there was a, you know, a younger girl in my season. And I just, I don't know what came over me. I felt the need to tell him like, hey, I don't know. You're trying to protect him. him you're trying to fix truly i was and looking back i was like holy molly that probably wasn't a great move but at the time it felt right so what i've changed it no but it is one thing that i'm like that's that's allowed i have many regrets uh just kidding um okay a couple more one thing you want to
Starting point is 00:59:30 cross off your bucket list last list this year um i'll love to go skydiving oh i'll go with you i would love to go skydiving i've never done it i'm terrified of heights but i just want to do it just to say hell yeah i did it yeah it's um it's the one thing that you can do where you you literally are so in the moment skydiving right you cannot think about anything else but just like free falling like am i going to die yeah the worst part is actually going up in the plane and realizing that you agreed to it even if you're buzzed your buzz is gone yeah toast and then i might pass out yeah but i can still say i did it that's true okay let's do it okay when's your birthday August 11th.
Starting point is 01:00:08 August 11th. Okay. Okay. I'm going to keep that in mind. Don't hate me when we go. No, August 11th, I come pick you up to go sky. I will. I'll be the forcer.
Starting point is 01:00:17 All right, everybody, take a sip on the bright side with the new Dunkin Macha Lates. Try the refreshing combination of sweeten matcha green tea blended with creamy milk and you can enjoy it iced, hot, or frozen. It's a delicious way to hit the reset button on your day. I personally absolutely love Duncan and, pretty much everything they have to offer. But this is possibly my favorite thing on the menu right now. I'm a very big fan of macha, which is essentially taking green tea leaves, blending them
Starting point is 01:00:46 into a powder. It's so, so good and also just something new when I'm craving a drink other than coffee. Also, you can, of course, get it with your choice of milk. So I do it with dairy-free milk alternatives, and it's the perfect drink to sip when I'm going out and about my day. Plus, since it comes hot, iced or frozen, I can choose how I want it depending on the temperature and that day because I'll say it again Nashville weather is cray. It is also just a delicious way to drink something delicious. Enjoy a refreshing matcha latte Duncan today. America runs on
Starting point is 01:01:17 Duncan. Price and participation may vary limited time offer. And then last one, what is your ideal first date? Ideal first date, uh, I can't really envision like a certain activity or like anything I would want to do. I can't say if I just want to do dinner or actually do something active, but an ideal first date would be feeling like I'm on the same page with someone and someone is super interested in the things that I'm interested in in a relationship and in a future. Yeah. It's been a long time since I felt like I'm on the same page with someone for the future as a couple. It is hard to come across.
Starting point is 01:01:54 Right. I mean, everybody's at such different stages in their life and what they want. And I just feel like it is hard to come across that person. But yeah, I say that, but I found. it like so quick well yeah but like in the also a thing about a first date is like now in this day we're talking to someone so much in dms and in text and then you get to a first date and it's like well i kind of know these things about you like i would love to actually get to know someone actually on the date ramen i'm saying good shit yeah you're interrupting a deep thought ramen sorry
Starting point is 01:02:29 okay what was the last thing you said same page yeah we want to be on the the same page yeah um do you have like a do you have um deal breakers or like non-negotiables where they're like that you can't unless you're the bachelorette you can't like be on a reality show um deal breakers if they i don't know i feel like i'm very flexible and that i'm very open to like multiple different types of people but deal breaker would be someone that is so into themselves that they can't like a narcissist yeah narcissists not into that I've had those yeah I'm not into that that that's about the only thing
Starting point is 01:03:11 like a lot of other things I can understand and I can like meet you in that place and kind of go from there but that's good or like if you give a shit about a following on social media like that's it's the word unless it's like you know an actual career move where you're like I'm passionate to do this and build and blah blah blah if you're like oh god i'm dropping followers what do i do to get attention like you know what i mean it has to be a healthy yeah i totally hear you someone to be obsessed with me yeah you cannot be obsessed with yourself because i need you to be obsessed with me i need all of your attention not on instagram thank you are you the type that um goes like it you see who the guys are following because it says a lot about a person yep yeah
Starting point is 01:03:58 i would too yep when i first met jason i was like really you follow a thousand people who are they oh yeah but it's interesting to see who people follow it is and for someone to say oh i'm not a fan of the show i don't watch the show and then i see who they follow i'm like ravin interesting kaelin bristow calin interesting okay explain yourself yep um okay so usually at the end of my podcast i do uh i give away an instagram me for people just like a good account to follow that's good to like when you scroll and you just need to be like ah yes that one so who's your favorite person to follow on Instagram. Oh, that's a great question. I'll tell you mine. You can think about it. People always think I can cut other people off, but I'm just giving you time,
Starting point is 01:04:43 okay? Okay. Yeah, go ahead. I want to shout out the Instagram account at self-care is for everyone, and honestly, the handle really does say it all. They describe their account as a space that honors the importance of choosing self-care over self-harm. I love and admire the mission. Their feet is, first of all, beautiful. It includes quotes, drawings, and stats that demonstrate how to practice self-care why self-care is so important and like they say it's for everyone it's really beautiful thing i like it yeah so give everyone giving them a follow let me know what you think okay what is what is the page i follow i know it's a good one i just can't think of it is it the dad one oh that actually neat dad is a great you know i think i've given them an instagram me before to be
Starting point is 01:05:27 honest i really think i have but there's also that one that is the very empowering quotes oh about women and i can't remember when this podcast comes out you put it on your instagram as your own instagram needle give way on a story okay and then we'll know to follow um is there anything else that we didn't cover that you wanted to to touch on today if you could leave anyone who's listening with one message what would it be um here for bachelor I'm Caitlin Bristel.
