I don't know if you guys saw, but I did an event with them.

You can find her personally on Instagram at Tori Gennal, T-O-R-I-G-A-A-A-A-A-A-A. Starting point is 00:03:07 Thank you very much. I'm so excited to be here. Tori. I said that really sexually. That was weird. I love it. I get really comfortable when I'm in my own home when Rahman's sitting here with a boner. I'm so sorry about that earlier.
Starting point is 00:03:18 You should feel flattered. I do feel flattered. I really do. I was really hoping I get to meet him and now he's asleep on my foot. There you go. I'm the happiest person in the whole entire world right now. He's such a little nugget. My sick obsession with golden retrievers.
Starting point is 00:03:31 Yeah, you need to get one. I am. Boney's buddies. Just, can you say that again for my boyfriend on the other end of the podcast? Does your boyfriend not, is it not the right time? We're buying a house. We close next week, so it's the right time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Do you have a backyard? It's like a little patio. Oh, it's perfect. We can put some grass back there. Yeah, that's all you need. A little patio. Well, as long as you can just pop them in the car and take them to a field, you're good. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:03:53 I lived in an apartment with a golden room. retriever a few years ago we did it yeah and he was 102 pounds oh my he was huge huge yeah so you could do it i believe in you what's your boyfriend's name his name's tony tony tony tony tony tony wait that's so cute yeah how long have you guys been together uh three and a half years uh yeah wait that's really cute how old are you you're 23 going to be 24 next month oh yeah that's serious don't know well what are you most nervous about living with him um well we're living together right now in a 700 square foot apartment. Oh, so you're good. And we're splitting
Starting point is 00:04:25 a closet. So what? I wouldn't say I'm necessarily nervous about anything. I'm just excited to have another closet. Oh, shit. That's amazing. I don't know how I'm doing it, to be honest. 700 square feet? How long have you been doing that for? We've been living together in it for six months and then I've been living in it for two years. Holy.
Starting point is 00:04:42 Yeah. I'm ready. Yeah, you're... I need some more space. I can't even imagine. I used to live in a 420 square foot, but by myself. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Was it was a studio? Yeah, it was a studio. like I always say my my bed was in my kitchen yeah I was just about to say I could never eat and sleep in the same room no I had my family over for Thanksgiving which was hilarious and like my she was my niece was three at the time and we literally just like all sat on the
Starting point is 00:05:07 floor around this little tiny coffee table and it was actually one of my favorite memories sounds about right yeah there you go you do what you can with your space you're given you definitely do okay so I'm excited your hair you're in Nashville where did you just buy house Portland, Oregon. Oh. What? I've always wanted to go there. You have to.
Starting point is 00:05:26 I've been in and out for like a day, but I've wanted to spend time there because I absolutely love the vibe. It's such a weird vibe, but I totally dig it. I went to school in Oregon, then I stayed there. Yeah, it's such a fun city. Oh, my gosh. Some of my good friends live in Eugene. Eugene.
Starting point is 00:05:43 That's where I went to school. That's where we went to school. And Eugene. Yeah. That's so random. Peter and Evan Hollins. Do you know them? They like sing musical theater.
Starting point is 00:05:52 They're really cute little family. Oh my gosh. No, I should though, because I'm a musical theater nerd. What? Oh my gosh. You need to be friends with Evan. She's like, she is musical theater. I have to meet her.
Starting point is 00:06:03 You have to make the intro. I will do the intro. I love it. So we actually met before at the She Factor event. Like I said earlier, I was part of that. I was just so on brand for me. It was so cool to be a part of that and that you guys are doing that. So discuss to me like kind of how you became involved with She Factor,
Starting point is 00:06:19 where it came from. the name everything tell us about it um so it started when i was in college actually i graduated two years ago and i was like the poster child of college like i did every leadership position i had a 4.0 i mean i had amazing mom who had been a successful entrepreneur everyone was kind of looking to me to be the one who had it figured out after college and then senior year rolled around and everyone was getting into grad school and finding jobs and like figure out where they were going to move and I had absolutely no clue what I wanted to do. I did 45 informational interviews spring break of my senior year. Heated every single one. I thought like I wanted to go to PR,
Starting point is 00:06:59 broadcast journalism or something like that and I just didn't feel like a spark or passion or a connection with anything. Which is great that you didn't just settle for something that you were waiting for that, you know? I did. Okay. Just kidding. Just kidding. So I got so nervous because I did decide to move to Portland. It was in New City. Luckily my my boyfriend was from there. So I had kind of a community, but I was like, I want to have my own. So I settled for a sales job at an IT staffing company. The people, amazing, like, so incredible. They are my people.
Starting point is 00:07:33 They still are my people. They're my family in Portland. But the job was just not what I was passionate about. It wasn't making you happy. At all. It was filling your soul. No, and I was working, like, probably 60 to 80 hours a week every week. And to do that when you're not doing something you love is just so draining.
Starting point is 00:07:51 So my mom had kind of like started thinking about the book idea when I had come to her in college and saying, I don't know what I want to do. And then when I came back to her, you know, a year later and said, I'm not doing something I'm passionate about. I hate my job. I lost complete touch with my relationship, myself. I wasn't eating healthy. I was drinking all the time. I was just miserable. She was like, we need to find a way to fix this problem.
Starting point is 00:08:21 So she wrote the book. It's called SheFactor. She Factor, the name comes from actually the score that you give yourself in the app for how will you do it hitting your goals. So the app's another tool that you use to basically set priority spheres. So we have nine spheres. We want you to take a holistic approach to your life. So there's like folk, flame, fitness, fuel, fashion, faith.
Starting point is 00:08:45 favor. There's nine different spheres. So you prioritize which ones are most important to you and then you set goals for yourself. And your she factor is how you do it hitting those goals every week. Yeah, it's awesome. That alone just feels empowering. You know, like you just get like motivated just hearing that. I know. And it's all just like self-responsibility is so important
Starting point is 00:09:03 but we lose touch of it so easily. Yeah. Because we get busy. I mean like you're you travel you work. Right. You want. Watch Netflix. Yeah. I mean, Netflix is a big one. Right. You know, because you need that time too to You know, to unwind and, and kind of shut off and unplug. Yes. As you've been doing.
Starting point is 00:09:23 I've been doing so much sleeping. I don't know what it is, but it's like I throw up and I'm just like a kid. Like I'm like, I name my mom and I just want to stay in bed for like a week. It takes a lot out of you. So, yeah, it's all about finding a holistic approach to your life. And the next step of it, which we're launching in September, is the squads. So it's all about live interaction and finding your your core group of girls that will really support you and help you live that authentic life and you'll meet
Starting point is 00:09:49 once a month and talk about your goals and how well you're doing and then we'll have a social event and a Facebook live event too that you can join in if you're subscribed yeah and it'll be with the country's most notable women and then the social events will be like a free bar class or um a hike or a happy hour something so tell me it's this so with with the book um it's kind of like a guide and a like like a roadmap yeah yeah which is so nice because, you know, people come out of school or they don't go to school and they just, who doesn't think, what do you do? What do you do? What am I going to do with my life? What do I want to do? And a lot of people are, well, I don't know how many, but some people are motivated by money and some people are motivated by passion and you have to find the in between. And I think it's so important to just find something that you love doing and find a way to make money doing that because you will be such a happier person. And so I think it's so cool what you guys are doing because the book can, can guide you and show you that everybody's on their unique path. And then it can also help you see that you're not alone.
Starting point is 00:10:51 Totally. And I love the app idea because you can have this community of other people who are in the same boat as you and you can talk. And I love that you're doing these social events. I just think that's so important in this time and this world. And I think people are going to really benefit from that. I hope. Of course they will.
Starting point is 00:11:08 I mean, now is the time. Like, the world is focused on women right now and everything they're doing. And that was kind of what sparked. us to just like full-fledged go forward and now is the time to do it can you just dive into a little more what the different silhouettes are and how they are formed yes um so there are I believe five different silhouettes um so I myself I am a guardian so I like to serve other people um I basically it the silhouettes help you figure out who you are as a person and this is from the app is the book oh the book and it's from um like you can do a little it's a little test I
Starting point is 00:11:45 I did it online, didn't I? You probably did it in the app or online. Okay, okay. So the book describes all of the silhouettes to you, and then you take the tests in the app. And we've kind of compiled, like, every notable personality quiz test, mix that word together, out there. Yeah. So, like, the strength finders of the world, the discs of the world, we made it more fun and targeted towards women. So we have Dreamer, Guardian, Queen, I'm storytelling.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Yeah, I felt really cool about that. Yeah, you're right up with there with Queen Bay, I think. I think fiancé is a queen, too. Of course she is. Why are we not surprised? I think my mom is a dreamer. She sees big picture. Can wait, say them again, dreamer, queen, guardian,
Starting point is 00:12:30 storyteller, and explorer, okay. I think. I might have to double check that. And so you can do this and figure out which one you are. And then what do you do from there? So really the point of the silhouettes, we found in all the focus groups we've done and the women we've talked to when you find out something about yourself and the way you function, it helps you capitalize on your strengths rather than your weaknesses. So you can now know, okay, I'm a queen. I demand attention. I know what I want. I know my journey. I'm confident and I'm passionate. And that's who I am. So I'm going to capitalize on that instead of like trying to bring myself down to match other people. That's a weakness. You know? So instead of like always constantly trying to bring yourself down. you're never going to be successful but if you like run with who you are and you're like
Starting point is 00:13:18 authentic yes and you are you yeah then you can do anything can you change silhouettes throughout your journey oh 100% yeah because i'm thinking about it i'm like i don't think i was a queen 10 years ago yeah but you work your way up to or you change as you go they say in the other um like with the disc and the strength finders and all those types of personality tests they say that you typically change every two years really yes i believe that that yeah and you can also kind of be like a mix of the two like I'm not a full guardian like I it's funny my best friend is a nurse and she's like full 100% guardian like that is what she does I'm like I can never do that job right but I like to serve people like I don't I don't necessarily like to have the
Starting point is 00:14:01 big ideas I like to do the work yeah yeah so that's just how it's a little bit different I that's I'm the opposite I like to have big ideas and I do not know how to execute like I'm like I need a team to execute but I will come up with the big ideas it's so perfect because my mom is full, full, um, dreamer. And then I'm, so she does all of like, oh, my God. You guys are a great team. And I'm like, okay, let's be realistic about how we can execute this. That's so awesome though that you guys are that.
Starting point is 00:14:26 It's been so fun working together. It's so cool that you guys have that relationship, too, between mother and daughter. Let's just actually touch on your mom for a second. Yeah. Because first of all, she is such a boss. I know. Like, it's like, even just her presence. I'm like, she is just like, you know, you can tell she's this, but also so soft.
Starting point is 00:14:44 Yes. And I don't know. She is the biggest heart. Like, Yeah, you can tell. If she was sitting here with ramen right now, she'd be in complete tears.
Starting point is 00:14:51 Like, really? She went on a trip to Greece when she had Camp Bow Wow and smuggled 25 dogs across the country. Right. Okay, wait, tell it.
Starting point is 00:14:59 So this is why I want to touch on your mom. She is, she's so inspiring. She's been named one of, um, what was it, Fortune magazine? Um,
Starting point is 00:15:07 she was in Forbes recently and then Fortune magazine's. Ten most promising entrepreneurs. Yeah. And she was on the list with like Shonda Rhymes and founder of Bumble and who was, there was somebody else who was really notable in that list. And tell me about Camp Bow Wow, because that's how she like kind of started with her, like, that was her first kind of journey with entrepreneuring, right? Yes. Yeah. So I'll give you like the short version because it is a long story.
Starting point is 00:15:36 But all the dog lovers out there. Exactly. So she was madly in love, 27, 26, 27. love of her life still is to this day. His name was Bayan, and he and her had this plan to create a doggy daycare. They were both complete dog crazy. There was nothing like it where they could take their dogs and trust the person take care of them and that they'd be having fun and playing.
Starting point is 00:15:59 So he made this whole business plan. Fast forward a year. He actually died in a plane crash on his 25th birthday. So devastating. I mean, still to this day, it's, yeah, it gives you chills thinking about it. And so she used the money. from the settlement from the plane company to put camp bow wow into work um i mean it was like four failed businesses later but she really didn't have that much money left but she knew that
Starting point is 00:16:24 she needed to do it and that was so she's so passionate about dogs right dog crazy yeah i talked to her a lot about dogs um so she started camp bow wow she turned it into the largest pet care franchise in the country of course she did it's actually now owned by mars who is headquartered here at nashville okay weirdly enough but um It was so fun. She franchised it. We traveled all around the country. We went to 40th and the 50 states together.
Starting point is 00:16:50 It was just the two of us. Wow. Yeah. My parents, I guess, speaking of concessions, this maybe could be a funny one. But they, I was a result of their 10-year high school reunion. So they actually went to high school together and middle school. And they grew up together.
Starting point is 00:17:06 And then they tried to make it work. And it just didn't. They've been such good friends now from now on. But it was a long battle. It was like a 10-year custody battle. It was awful. So she was dealing with a lot on top of Camp Bow Wow. But it was just the two of us.
Starting point is 00:17:20 We stuck through it together that whole time. And we got super close. And so now having the opportunity to start this together and be working with hers. And know that you can work together. Yeah, we're working on that. I was going to say, well, it must be so challenging. One, it's hard to work with most people, you know, any business partner you're going to have ups and downs and growth and learning experiences. But when it's family, that can be a blessing and a curse.
Starting point is 00:17:49 Totally. Because you can get mad at each other and then like it's easy to forgive each other, your family and you can get through it because you love each other. Yeah, I snapped at her like five times on this national trip, but it's fine. Yeah. But then there's also you can easily snap on them and have that, you know, the trigger things between mother-daughter as we all do. Yes.
Starting point is 00:18:09 It works because I'm in Portland and she's in Denver. There you go. that can we work with a healthy distance yeah so so you've been in Nashville for a few days we started in Memphis on Wednesday and then we've been I've been in Nashville since Friday yeah how do you think your relationship with your mom has evolved since working together it's different yeah um it definitely is different I mean we've always been best friends there's not a doubt about that it's actually kind of been nice because I get to spend so much more time with her and I get to talk to her more yeah um it may be about business but both of us are so
Starting point is 00:18:42 passionate about what we're doing in this whole brand and company that it's it's been so fun yeah it's just been a wild ride we've been traveling the country doing this book tour and launching in different cities and we've gotten to experience all these new cities together yeah what's been your favorite city so far oh gosh well Nashville has been so fun yeah what have you done we so we had our party on um Friday night it's actually been our best turnout that we've had yes we had so many people come. Everyone was absolutely so great. Everyone's so nice.
Starting point is 00:19:16 And then Friday night, we decided we couldn't not see Broadway. Duh. You had to. What? It's like Vegas on stairways. I know. I can't. It's, I mean, I did it a lot.
Starting point is 00:19:28 When I first moved here, you could find me on Broadway every weekend, maybe even the weekdays. I was like so into it. And now it gives me crazy anxiety to go down there. We were there for me and Amy, one of our other employees. for She Factor, she was like, let's just go have one drink and then we'll go. And I'm not drinking right now. So I was like, yeah, sure, fine.
Starting point is 00:19:54 We went to FGL House, which actually was not that crowded. We just people watched from the top and it was just, we were in shock. We are so over-simulated. And then yesterday I did way too much shopping. What? Where? Hillsboro. Oh.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Green Hills. Green Hills. Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah, I guess there's some shopping. I looked up Best Boutique in Nashville. Oh, blush? It came up with posh.
Starting point is 00:20:17 Oh. Yeah. And there was like five super cute boutiques over there. Really? Okay. Good to know because I have found it. Well, I'm not a big shopper. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:25 And I like, if I do shop, I do it online. And I'm just like, oh, just get me some new clothes on all. Like, I don't enjoy it. Yeah. But I do need to find something in Nashville. People always ask me when they come, where's a good place to go shopping? I'm like, nothing. There's nothing.
Starting point is 00:20:36 No, where to shop. I was surprised there's really not that many places. Yeah. No, there's really not. But it's very different style than Portland. Oh, yes. I asked the girl to take out some outfits for me, and I will have to show you the picture. I look like a bird.
Starting point is 00:20:52 It's like this black dress with like flaps on it. Oh, wow. Why did you think that this would be a good outfit? Now I need to see. I'm going to post that picture to promote this podcast. I told her it was for the podcast to meet you. Really? Yep.
Starting point is 00:21:07 And that's what she came up with. So you should be a little bit offended. I kind of am. I'm like, she clearly doesn't know me. I'm like in this t-shirt that says Roman noodles. I'm in a t-shirt. And sweats. Yeah, but you have a cute little.
Starting point is 00:21:19 You look to go explore after this. And you can pull off earrings. I can't. I just can't do it. I love them. All right, let's take a quick second to talk about something that we can all agree on. Saving money.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Saving money means paying the best price for the things that you want to buy. That's why you need to try Honey. Honey is a free browser extension that scans the web for coupon codes and discounts while you shop online. Honey automatically applies the biggest savings to your cart at checkout like Magic. It works on over 20,000 sites, all the best ones like Amazon, Nordstrom, J-Crew, Nike, Best Buy, Target, Macy's, and more. And it takes zero effort to install. All you have to do is just two clicks
Starting point is 00:22:00 and you'll start saving any time that you shop online. And who doesn't shop online these days is my question. It's pretty incredible. And if you're wondering how they make money, by the way, it's from commission. They're not selling any of your personal data, which is really good to know. Personally, I love having honey for whenever I'm shopping, but I tend to buy a ton of things on Amazon, especially for ramen right now, just because it's so much easier than actually putting on clothes, leaving the house, doing whatever I need to do. I was buying ramen treats and toys because obviously he's such a good boy, and I saved $15 and $4 at checkout, which I will now use to buy ramen even more treats and toys.
Starting point is 00:22:36 Look, there's really no reason not to use honey. It's free to use and easy to install. your computer in just two clicks don't take it from me take it from our listeners get honey for free at join honey.com slash vine that's join honey.com slash vine honey online savings simplified um okay i wanted to circle back to the silhouettes because i want i just think it's a cool idea and i wanted to know some of the questions that people need to answer to determine their personal silhouette yeah so you have to do some deep dive in no and honestly like i would be my advice i found it fun it. It is fun. And you kind of just have to be impulsive. Like you have to go with the first thing
Starting point is 00:23:13 that comes to your mind. You can't like go super deep and be like, well, in this situation, like this is what I would do. You just have to be super impulsive. That's how you're going to get the best result. Types of questions, gosh, it's been forever since I've taken it. But like, what type of work environment do you like? Are you more of a creative person or are you more of a data analytics person um do you enjoy spending time outdoors and working out yeah those kind of like it's super easy and takes five minutes but had we've done so much research and like it seems like we maybe created overnight but like we did a ton of research and i went into this and simple is better i mean people love personality quiz i i love taking anything like that and i enjoyed it
Starting point is 00:23:58 because i just think it's fun to get to know yourself a little better too and be like whoa that is me yes and like sometimes you don't know something about your yourself until you know something about yourself right i know that sounds so weird no no i totally get it you discover so much about yourself in this process and that's what i love about the book and love about chief factor is it's all about self-discovery yeah like learning about yourself which it's such a good thing for for that time in people's lives too right like people in their 20s even i mean doesn't matter what age you are but especially that seems to be you know probably the the age that people really use that and benefit yeah because your 20s are so important yes um i don't know if you've ever
Starting point is 00:24:35 read the defining decade. No. If you haven't, you should. But it's, is it too late for me? I'm 34. You're not 34. Yes, I am. Oh my gosh. I didn't know that. Yeah, I am. That's so funny. No. Well, you don't look at it. Thanks. Um, no, it's, it's a great book. And especially if you ever plan on having kids, I think it's really important to, like, understand, like, how your 20s affected your life and where it's going. Oh, I'm into that. Yeah. It's all about, tell me what it's called again. The defining decade. The defining decade. Okay. Tell me more. And it's all about how your 20s to find the rest of your life. I mean like the relationships you have like if you're in a six year relationship that's more than half of your 20s and then if it doesn't work out where those
Starting point is 00:25:13 six years go right or you are in a relationship and then you have kids right in your 20s yeah you have kids for the rest of your life or you get a bad job and you're in that career for 10 years and you look back and maybe that wasn't the job you wanted and then you have to circle back and find a new career in your 30s or 40s and that's so hard to do so that book actually really sparked my passion about just like helping young women in their 20s like I think this age group specifically is so important um and I think from myself being in that position with the job that I was so not passionate about and now doing something that I absolutely love yeah it's so funny Tony is like you seem more less stressed but you work so much more I'm like yeah that's because I'm doing
Starting point is 00:25:53 like what I'm doing yeah I want to stay up until midnight you know do all this stuff that's planning to change people's lives yeah oh and it must be so rewarding at the same time right like you're doing something that you see benefiting younger girls that you probably wish you had from what things you were going through you know and that I see all of my friends struggling with and all of these women that I talk to all across the country during this tour everyone is going through the same thing it's so true I get so many messages from girls being like I'm 24 and I just broke up with my boyfriend and I don't know what I'm going to do with my life and I'm like oh what I do and I do you get that a lot I do and I do you just be like the she factor dot com yes do it please But it's crazy because it's always girls in their 20s, but I'm like, women go through that in their 30s and 40s too. My mom went through it in her 40s.
Starting point is 00:26:42 Right. She didn't get remarried until she was 40. I know. And people just think, you know, and I laugh now thinking back on my time in my 20s, thinking I felt the same way. I had like $5. If I had $5, I was so pumped. I was like, okay, that is Starbucks. Credit cards are very dangerous thing.
Starting point is 00:27:00 I didn't have a credit card. Oh my gosh. Which is brilliant on my part. Yes. But I was also not building any credit. I didn't get a credit card until I was, I think I was 30. You're kidding. 30.
Starting point is 00:27:12 Yeah. Yikes. I have too many and I should not have any. I mean, I get it now because I'm like, oh, hey, thank God I didn't have credit cards. But like, they should have like an age limit on credit cards. I agree. I agree. I agree.
Starting point is 00:27:26 Because your brain isn't fully developed. I remember crying so hard because I had nothing going for myself at this one point in my life. I think I was 26. I was living with my boyfriend who played hockey. He had, you know, everything going for him. And I was just following him around. I've talked about this a shmillion times on the podcast. But it's like I went to apply for a credit card and I got denied because I just had no credit. The lowest of low. The lowest of low. And I was like, oh my gosh. And that was 26, 27 maybe. And now it's so crazy and just how things can change. If you do one surround yourself with a good group of people, women, if you do just like get the tools that you need to
Starting point is 00:28:09 like a book or an app and have the support system to go after something that you're passionate about, to deep dive into who you are and answer questions about yourself and, you know, get to know who you are. And that's, I think that's so cool that I wanted to talk about the squads. You touched on it earlier a little bit, but you guys are launching chief actor squads to meet others who are taking part in the she factor method. movement so tell us just you kind of touched on it but tell us a little more about how um the squads will work yeah so and it can be anywhere right anywhere we're starting intensities so we're trying to
Starting point is 00:28:42 keep it small so that we can kind of complete a pilot see what works what doesn't yeah um so we're starting intensities we're starting in denver portland san francisco l a phoenix new york city chicago washington dc wow dallas houston cool cool and we got so much interest here national that we might launch one here too. Yeah. Um, so we're launching those 10 cities. Um, the squads, it's kind of like Mary Kay or Roden and Fields, but for professional and personal development. That's what I've been telling people. So, um, we're going to have squad leaders. We're going to start with five squad leaders in each city. So, um, we're working on recruiting those right now. So if you're out there and you're interested and you want to hear more, we're going to have some webinars, interest webinars
Starting point is 00:29:22 the next few weeks. So what does that exactly mean? So yeah, I'll go into that. Okay. Um, so as a squad leader you are responsible for getting the women there and that's really it we're going to send you a monthly box and think like fab fit fun but with your activities for the month and each month will be focused on the sphere so our first september will be fuel so um we have a great partnership with carrie dors she's the founder of peer bar she's going to be like our champion circle member who's going to be our speaker um so there will be three events and that you'll be responsible for getting people to um each month and no one has to go to every single one we get people are busy and But if you want to get the most out of it, this is it. So we'll have one, we call it Chief Actor 5 meeting a month. So it's a fun 5 o'clock happy hour. You get to be with your ladies. You get to talk about your goals. And basically what you're going to do is each person will have the chance to talk about how they did on their, talk about their chief actor score and talk about how well they did on their goals.
Starting point is 00:30:19 And then the whole group is going to coach them and mentor them on how they can do better. What a freaking great idea. Yeah. And then on top of that, each meeting will have an inspirational speaker who will, our, actually be a part of our champion circles. So champion circles are going to be in each city, too. They're going to be a group of really established notable women who want to mentor others. So they'll speak about their story and then they'll be there to help coach you too. Wow. Which will be awesome. Get ready to get motivated with The Good Life with Stevie and Sazon on Podcast 1. The YouTube and

Download the good life with Steve, download the good life with Stevie and Sazon every Wednesday on Apple Podcasts and Podcasts. We'll be back with more Off the Vine with Caitlin Bristow. Now back to Off the Vine with Caitlin Bristow. What a beautiful thing you guys are doing. Like, I just think this is going to change everyone's life. It can. It seriously can. And it's such a good idea. It started with one book and it's come this far right right because people ask for it like that's how we've gotten to where we are is because we've
Starting point is 00:31:31 been talking to so many women and this is what they want they want connection they want guidance they want coaching and mentorship and encouragement and support inspiration and inspiration and oh i love that and it's it's so crazy i always say it is wild what happens when you put a bunch of women in one room right it really is crazy powerful it really is that launch party in denver like that you you were at, I was feeling the vibes. Yeah. It was just like all these incredible women and everyone was so inspired. And it is crazy what you can do when you just have that spark of inspiration.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Yeah. Absolutely. So yeah, we'll have the sheet factor five and then we'll have Facebook Live event, which will be with one of our national champion circle members. Yeah. For each sphere. So that'll just be like either a workshop or a talk or whatever that might look like for the person. And we'll have a social event too. That's so cool.
Starting point is 00:32:26 And the social event will actually be with all the squads in your area. So you'll get the chance to meet everyone. So many people. Yes. Each month. Oh, I love that so much. And you guys are also launching a podcast. Yes, that's me.
Starting point is 00:32:39 That's amazing. And when is the podcast going to launch? We're hoping that August. We're on tune to do that. It's just going to be the She Factor podcast. We're going to be interviewing so many amazing people. That's suiting yourself. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:32:53 I'm so excited to do it. That's great. And where can people find the podcast? To be determined. Okay. It'll probably just be like a link on your Instagram page. Yes. Check on my Instagram.
Starting point is 00:33:05 We're working on possibly a really cool partnership with a company that will be sponsoring the podcast. So that will be TV. Yes. God, you guys are such TVD. Boss ladies. I love it. We try. And what are some of the ways that you feel like she factor has helped you grow?
Starting point is 00:33:24 Seriously, just finding a. balance like coming from a place where I was working 80 hours a week I was exhausted I wasn't taking care of myself my relationship was I was not giving any time to it it was just functioning and because he's amazing and he knew it function and I don't know how he did it um I had really lost touch with a lot of my friends because I was just so busy um so when I say chief actor has transformed every aspect of my life it seriously has like I I am now doing what I'm passionate about I see all of my friends all the time. I get to have real authentic relationships with them
Starting point is 00:33:59 where I'm not just complaining about work or exhausted. Tony and I are buying a house together. So financially, that's great. And then not only that, but like super excited for our relationship. I get to see my family all the time. I'm energized. I've lost 20 pounds. I told you that.
Starting point is 00:34:14 It's crazy. It's like the stress, I think, and probably not drinking. That's okay. But I'm just so much healthier. And when you take that holistic approach to your life and you're doing what you love and you're not stressed and just like drained. People don't even realize that small shift
Starting point is 00:34:29 and then how much you can change your life. Well, and I wrote actually a blog about it. You can check it on the She Factor website, but it's called My Journey to She. And that's what we call this journey. It's your journey to find your she, like who you are. And my journey to she, I am such a good salesperson to myself. Like I can sell myself on anything.
Starting point is 00:34:49 Like I'm like, I am happy. I am killing it. I am making lots of money. Like, I am just love in life when deep down, like, I am miserable. Yeah. So it's like a huge flaw. But we all do. But how do you convince yourself?
Starting point is 00:35:04 How do you sell yourself on that? I think that I'm just a naturally optimistic person. That's great. And so I just, I try to find the positive and everything when things aren't going well. And I'm like, no, like, this is great. This is great. This is great. And I convinced myself that it's great when it's not.
Starting point is 00:35:20 That's, I did a meditation this morning on gratitude and how. powerful that can be everything yes yes and and what can come from just gratitude gratitude and self affirmation are supposed to be the two biggest things to increase positivity and happiness and i think people tell themselves like oh yeah okay that's not going to work like you know like it can't be that simple it can't be so simple as to just have gratitude but it it is i have never done meditation and i did it for the first time i'm like big into yoga i love yoga but like meditation like sitting there with yourself i did it for the first time probably three months ago and it was literally just a self-affirmation like it was like I am happy I am healthy I am safe
Starting point is 00:35:59 like yes I did that too yes and it changed my life I know it was so weird I know like people people think it's like I don't know why it's so hard to just sit down for even two minutes and be by yourself and be by yourself and be by yourself and tell yourself good things I don't know why that's so hard for people including myself but once you do it you're like it's it's kind of addicting it totally is I do it every day yeah it's like I'm gonna tell myself how freaking badass I am every day yeah me too I usually do at least one or two meditations a day yes even if it's a two minute one yeah it can even be as quick as like going through the affirmation once yes for me yeah and I'm like okay I got this love that and and why do you
Starting point is 00:36:41 think she factors resonating with so many women out there I think like I said earlier there's just a need for it I mean women are lost and I think honestly like the time is now but also the time is the most confusing time ever. Yeah, I agree. Like, especially when women are so divided. And the biggest thing we found in these focus groups and talking to women on this tour is that we say we're supportive of each other, but we are not. I know.
Starting point is 00:37:09 We are so not. I find that too. I find that too. I can't remember somebody said it on the podcast, but somebody said, or maybe it was me. I think you said it. Was it me? You said it. Like, I think at the launch party.
Starting point is 00:37:23 Because you were talking about The Bachelorette and The Bachelor and how, like, you, you join together and you're, like, 25 women living in a house, but, like, everyone says they'll be supportive and then it falls apart. Right. Because it's one thing to say you're an empowering person and to say that women support women, but it's another thing to actually do it. Right. And I think that's what people are, there's a disconnect there for some. Especially in the workplace. Yes. So that's kind of a side part of She Factor is where we.
Starting point is 00:37:53 working with companies to help them identify how well they're doing at hiring women, retaining women, and advancing women in the leadership. So that's the other side of she factor that isn't as public. Right. But it's so important. And women in these companies just tear each other down, like all the freaking time. And they don't support each other. It actually men are more supportive of each other in professional environment than women are,
Starting point is 00:38:18 which it's just because we get petty and we get jealous and it's just in our nature and then there's hormones involved yeah not to mention hormones um so it's just messy yeah um so how do we push that aside get authentic with each other get real about our issues okay yeah you're jealous of my promotion like tell me more about that like let's dig in like yeah that's what these conversations during these she factor five meetings are going to be about i bet you could figure out so much from just having such an authentic conversation like that like it might make you feel small in the moment but to to figure out why i mean i have saved that conversation for my therapist but I'm usually like why am I feeling this way and then I can figure
Starting point is 00:38:57 it out at the end by the end I'm like oh duh that's where it's coming from we call that in sales a care confrontation oh I'm gonna use that I know right that's good uh is there anything else you wanted to touch on with she factor or do you think we covered it all because I have a game I want to play with you um no I think just how thankful we've been that you've been a part of it and you've just gone above and beyond for us and we're so happy because you are so on brand it's crazy well I just really really really believe and I think you can like hear it my voice like genuinely believe in what you guys are doing I think it's so important and I just want to spread the word and I just think I just love it and I wish I had something like that I mean I turned
Starting point is 00:39:35 out just fine but but I do wish I had something like that in my 20s and and just when I felt lost and I you know I had a couple close friends but I don't feel like there was a community behind it so I just really believe in what you guys are doing well thanks so it's the shefactor dot com. The shefactor.com and at the she the domain. Well, Frank, that's okay. That works.
Starting point is 00:39:57 The shefactor.com at the she factor. And then I'll be running our podcast, which I'm super excited about launching in August at Tori Ginal. You can follow me to get more updates on that too. Perfect. And tell me again what is the podcast called She Factor podcast.
Starting point is 00:40:11 Yep. Super easy. Everything's consistent. That's great. That's like me. I'm like, people like, where can we find you? I'm like, at Caitlin Bristow on Twitter and Instagram. Caitlin Bristow.com.
Starting point is 00:40:21 Just Caitlin Bristow, okay? Yeah, just Caleb Bristow. Okay. So we're going to play, just so people get to know you a little better as a person. We're just going to play favorites. Okay. It's funny because, well, maybe I shouldn't tell you this. I'm going to have you play Hot Seat during my podcast.
Starting point is 00:40:37 I love it. We're switching. That's great. I love any games. I'm like, this is a really tough game. Just tell me your favorite things. Favorite way to spend a weekend. Ooh, on the water.
Starting point is 00:40:48 Beach. lake, river. I'm the biggest lake guy in the world. Like, I just love being on the lake. Yes, it's amazing. Okay. Favorite person to follow or account to follow on Instagram? Well, you.
Starting point is 00:41:00 No! You actually are one of my favorite people. You're just so funny. And I, well, actually, I might have to say ramen noodle. Okay. I'll take that one. It's so funny because I feel like I've been really dropping the ball on my Instagram game lately. I mean, you've got to give me some tips because I'm not ready for this whole, like, social media thing.
Starting point is 00:41:18 You're going to do just fine. I feel like just you, first of all, you're very well-spoken, and I feel like you have a lot of encouraging things to say. So you're going to be fine. I just don't know if people want to hear them, but of course they do. Who cares? They don't have choice. Too bad. They're going to.
Starting point is 00:41:32 Favorite date night activity with Tony. Ooh. That's a good one. Can I think on it for a second? Of course. I'm like thinking about what he would say. I'm trying to think about what my favorite date night activity would be. Mine's just like going.
Starting point is 00:41:46 Mine would be going with Jason. And we live on a golf course, so just going to, like, hit a couple balls at the driving range, have a drink, and then come home and, like, play cards. I love that. Yeah. Yeah, I would say we're actually doing this next weekend. I'm so excited. But Tony's family has a house on the coast of Oregon. And there's this one spot, like, right outside his house.
Starting point is 00:42:05 It's a park bench. And, like, just sitting on the park bench on a blanket with a glass of wine. It's the best. It's like my favorite thing in the whole car world. That sounds like heaven. And then we go in, we same thing, play games with the family. And it's so fun. That's heaven.
Starting point is 00:42:16 Go crabbing. I love crabbing. Yes. Crabbing and clamming and then we make all fresh fish and having a full fish dinner. Yeah, so we're going crabbing next week. That's so fun. Yes, so fun. Okay, that's awesome.
Starting point is 00:42:30 Okay, that's a good one. Joy's of Oregon. Yeah, no kidding. I miss Jason living in Seattle because I loved going out to that side. He lived in Seattle. Is he from there? No, he's from Buffalo. Brandon.
Starting point is 00:42:41 Buffalo, but lived in Seattle for a couple years. Favorite trip you've ever taken? Ooh. Croatia, Debravna, Croatia. I studied in London for five weeks, and then that was our next stop. You've done so much for your age. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:57 It's amazing. It's so cool, though. No, it is. I feel like I am so blessed. Like, I seriously am so blessed. I've gotten to do so many amazing things. I have an amazing life. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:08 You know, there's definitely been hard moments, but, you know, it makes the better moments better. Yeah. I hear you. So, favorite TV. show at the moment I have to think on that too well I'm rewatching Grays Anatomy for the fifth time
Starting point is 00:43:24 fifth time yeah do I need to watch it I've never seen it you need to watch it just like power through it it's a good like I'm working on my laptop and like don't really need to pay attention show so I wouldn't say that's my favorite show I think my favorite show would probably be big little eyes right now oh I'm obsessed so good and Reese Witherspoon is my spirit animal
Starting point is 00:43:44 you should try and meet her while you're here I forgot she's here. I was going to go to Draper James yesterday, but I didn't have time. So maybe I'll go today. I've heard I have many friends in Nashville that have either done her makeup or done something with her, that she is even better in person. Like she is literally my idol. Like her in big little eyes is going to be me as a mom 100%. I love that.
Starting point is 00:44:05 I love that. And legally blonde is like everything. Yeah. Yes. Everything. And last favorite piece of advice you've ever received. I was going to say one, but it kind of contradict. the second best advice that I've ever gotten
Starting point is 00:44:18 So go with me on this Okay Okay well one Beside this because I don't know if it's gonna make sense Kill them with kindness I think that's just number one always Like if you just stay kind to people And know that people have their own story
Starting point is 00:44:34 And their own life happening And you just go into this world of kindness And people may mean to you back But as long as you're always kind Good karma is everything Dang I need to learn from that I try I'm a big
Starting point is 00:44:48 I'm a big I'm a big it takes practice I really like clapbacking wow oh clapbacking piss me off
Starting point is 00:44:54 yeah don't cross me I know I will come at you but I try to kill him with kindness I'm gonna I'm gonna try
Starting point is 00:44:59 and then I was gonna say which I think is really important in regards to she factor even in our 20s especially in college and beyond we say yes to everything
Starting point is 00:45:08 and my advice I got was to say yes to everything like don't miss out on opportunities and that's why I've experienced so much in my life as I've said yes to so many things but at the same time the older I get like say freaking no yeah I know like do what you want and like don't do things that you make you feel
Starting point is 00:45:26 uncomfortable or like aren't going to benefit you in life yeah um so like experience the world experience life the way you want to don't let other people peer pressure you into doing stuff you don't want to do because there's some things you should do that make you uncomfortable but not in a bad way you know there's there's uncomfortable uncomfortable but there's uncomfortable, like, taking it, stepping outside your box and experiencing something new. Totally. I like that. All right.
Starting point is 00:45:50 Well, that's it. Oh, no. You had to confess to me. We're going to end it with a confession. Come on. You were, what, were you like head of your sorority? Oh, yeah. I mean, there's stories there, but illegal.
Starting point is 00:46:04 Did I mean, I've definitely done some illegal stuff in my day. Okay. Well, share. Like, how illegal are we talking here? Well, I'm only going to be broadcasted to 1,000. of people the cops are going to come after me? No. I've had some pretty crazy confessions. I'm trying to think of
Starting point is 00:46:20 something that my mom wouldn't kill me for saying. Okay. You know? Yeah. All right. She's probably going to listen. 100% going to listen. Yeah. Literally from when I was in fifth grade, I was the new girl. Yeah. And this is so sad. I was the new girl in school. I just
Starting point is 00:46:36 moved from California and we had field day and my P.E. teacher We had to do like this relay where he had put on his clothes. He's like seven foot tall. like super big and i like put on the clothes did fine and then i went to go take them off and i took off my pants with it and i was wearing these like bright blue elmo underwear oh no i was fifth grade like i was like 10 or 11 that's so sad that makes you want to go hug you i know i like couldn't i like was mortified i didn't want to go to school for like a whole year but it turned out okay
Starting point is 00:47:06 i don't talk to any of those people anymore so it doesn't really matter and it was like of course like private catholic school and like oh did people tease you i A little bit. Okay. To preface, there was 25 people in my class. And there was only like five or six guys. So all the guys were so just like evil and manipulating. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:26 Super fifth grade-y. Yeah, I was going to say, yeah. Sounds about right. Yeah. Oh my gosh. I remember fifth grade boys. They would tell me like if I didn't kiss them like that I wouldn't be on their top three list.
Starting point is 00:47:36 Right. Like Myspace, TBT. Oh, God. You had MySpace in fifth grade? That just shows how old I am. No. yes oh gosh it was like middle school for me probably like six or seven great that's crazy yeah well anyways thank you so much for being on my podcast this is so much for having me really gonna resonate
