Podcast One presents off The Vine with Caitlin Bristow.
Caitlin is creating a space where girls and gents can feel empowered to be themselves.
Get ready for lots of laughs.
Tabby topics.
filtered advice and wine lots of wine get ready to shake things up here's katelyn all right everybody welcome
to off the vine i'm your host katelyn bristow guys last night we got to see something a little scary a little
weird definitely a lot of fun and yes i'm talking about my season of the bachelorette it is so
crazy to see how much you can change in five years i'm so thankful as everybody knows for my time on the show
because it's led me exactly to where I am now with Jason,
with the dogs.
I'm going to be on freaking dancing with the stars.
I still can't wrap my head around that.
I say that and I'm like, yeah, right, that's not happening.
There's no way.
It's so surreal.
It's such a full circle moment for me five years later.
I'm so grateful they're giving me this opportunity.
Jason and I are going to talk Thursday on Great Therapy about Dancing with the Stars,
the new announcement as Matt as the Bachelor and just more thoughts and feelings on watching
my season back. We'll see at this point if Jason has watched or not. But anyways, I really wanted to take
today's episode to speak to a few guys from my season and catch up five years later. I can't believe
it's five years later. So I thought I'd hang out for a bit with three of my favorites. No, I'm picking
favorites, but they're all my favorites. But you have to admit, we love these guys. So let's get
going, Vino's. I'm going to start with one of the most beloved members of the Bachelor franchise of
all time. That's Ben Higgins and his fiance, Jess. How are you,
too doing.
Oh, good, KB.
Did you guys watch, or is that weird?
I watched.
Yeah.
It's so weird for me, too.
Yeah, I mean, it would be weird if it wasn't weird for you.
You know what I mean?
Like, it's so funny because it was so long ago, but it's, like, why are they doing this?
Why are they replaying our seasons and torturing us like this?
Do you feel like it's torture for you?
Yeah, only because, like, nobody really wants to rewatch, like, falling in love with somebody else.
Like, that's just, I don't want to relive that.
I don't want to relive these hard times that I went through.
Like, obviously, it got me to where I am today, and I'm so happy.
But to put yourself back in that time is so emotional.
And I don't know if you're the same way, but I have, like, blocked out so many memories that I even forget happened.
So when I watch back, I'm like, oh, yeah.
And then I'm just, like, overwhelmed with emotion in good ways and bad.
But have you seen yours, have you watched yours back yet?
No.
And I don't know if I will.
For a couple of reasons.
I have this weird.
I don't think it's weird, actually.
I think it's probably pretty normal.
I have a really hard time watching myself do anything back, especially as the Bachelor when it was, what,
four or five years ago.
I was trying to be cool.
I was trying to, like, be smooth.
it definitely was it and now like it feels like just like just i were talking about this i've blocked
out a lot of it too like i don't remember a ton and i kind of don't want to remember a ton yeah i get that
i wasn't going to watch it back like this whole time i'm like no i can't i i won't be able to
and whatever and then i saw it in my email inbox a couple days ago and i was like well it's right
there i should probably just try and i honestly i'm not going to lie i cried i laughed i i
I was just so overwhelmed, and, but I think, you know, towards the end of it, well, I don't even know if you guys know this or if you, have you, you haven't watched this one.
Okay, so Jason and I get interviewed at the end and, um, it ended up being so special because they actually asked me to go on dancing with the stars.
No way.
Yeah.
So it like ends with like, I'm like, we were doing this interview and I was putting myself back in the position and I was getting overwhelmed and blah, blah.
And then he's like, well, I have something to ask you and it's going to change your life.
And I was like, what?
And then I thought Jason was going to propose.
And I was like, oh, God, is this happening?
And then they're like, they're like, yeah, we want you to be on Dancing with the Stars.
And I was like, wow, what a full circle moment.
So.
How do you feel?
I feel, thank you.
I feel, I just feel like it's not real.
Like, I'm like, no, there's no way.
Something's going to happen.
Like, COVID will get its second wind and it's, I'm not going to go.
Like, I just keep thinking it's not real.
but obviously very excited.
Wow. That's awesome.
Oh, yes. Okay, well let's talk about you two.
Newly engaged-ish.
When did you guys get engaged?
Three months.
It's been three months.
March 27th.
Okay, March 27th.
And you guys had been quarantining with your family, right, Jess?
We've kind of been going back and forth because his family's in Indiana.
Mine's in Nashville and we can drive it.
So we'll do like two weeks in one place and two weeks in another.
did two months during the heat of it we were there for two months straight and now since
Indiana got released to start joining together I don't know two weeks ago we came up here then
yeah but we were in Nashville for about two months right off that with our whole family
yeah just quarantining that was yeah what a time it's nice to that you guys had family though
that's something I missed so much in that time I'm like I can't even cross a border to Canada
like it just felt yeah I was we were we just felt lonely but it's all it's all gonna go back
not to normal but it'll go back soon um okay so I want to go back to my season for a hot minute
because that's what this is about and talk about do you remember the sex ed date we did with a
group date and you were so great at speaking about it to these kids who you thought were actual
students but they were child actors but I I heard you say on this interview that you actually
actually, what did you say you like, you had taken sex education or something and knew how to talk
about it? Yeah. So in college, I for a long time wanted to do, like be a sexual educator in
schools and churches. Like I thought it was like, I thought that I had such a terrible sex ed
education as a kid that I was like, we have to start speaking about this in like a more true way.
Yeah. So I went to college for it and took like, I don't know, two or three years of classes.
and then didn't finish my minor because it wasn't my path.
But I learned a lot.
I loved it.
And I think it's a worthy pursuit.
But yeah, so that fit in to my lane.
It was so good.
I forgot again about that date because like we said, you blocked stuff out.
But I was watching that back and I was dying laughing, just like watching all the guys
try and talk about sex education to these kids who were like a child actors, but you guys
were all so nervous.
But then you got up there and you just had so much knowledge.
And I was like, oh, way to go, Ben.
it was funny that was uh that was a very first moment i felt normal there like for the first
couple weeks it was just or week i don't know how long we were there at that point yeah the world
feels like it's swirling yeah that's the very first moment i actually felt human and and then it felt
great yeah yeah no i hear you it's yeah i don't think i ever felt normal but um and so when
you guys have kids or if you want kids i'm assuming you do because you'd be great parents then you can
have the nice conversation with them and you'll be like super dad yeah we're going to act it out like
we did on the show mom will be the the eggs i'll be the sperm and i'll swim to her jess is like what
are you talking about yeah she's no clue i might have to watch this part actually you have to watch
that one part it's so funny and all the guys did such a great job but i love watching back and
seeing you know all the guys that were on my season there's so many now that have like
like these happily ever after is like you two Tanner and Jade um who else Jared and Ashley like
all these people I'm like sometimes I forget they were on my season like it's it's just such a long
time ago um you're a good group of dudes like that house is the best was always fun it was always good
and they always cared I have a question right like honestly I know you were so great about it on the
season but honestly when Nick came in and everybody was so angry did you
Did you really think he was a quote, unquote, there for the wrong reasons?
Because everybody questioned his intentions.
I never did because I knew, like, our connection before the show started.
And I know, like, he really did not want to come back on the show and did.
But I didn't question his intentions.
Every single other guy did.
And it was such a big deal.
Did you question his intentions or did you, like, think he was, he was a good guy?
I don't know if I ever, again, I was so.
And I don't want to under.
estimate this like I was so slow to the process of processing anything happening in that time like
everything I was two steps behind because I just didn't get it and so when he came on I didn't know if
that's like how the show worked like I'd seen the show but I'd missed a couple seasons I think I knew
he was there for the right reasons just because at that point being on the show is enjoyable it's
exciting it's not that fun like it's not like a thing you want to go back and do it's not something
you like crave to be back in that environment again right and i'd been in it long enough at that point
that i was like i don't think anybody would like willingly choose to do this unless they had a reason
for being yeah it's it's interesting because he obviously made it to final two with andy and at
that point you've really been through the ringer with that that whole thing so to come back and
know that you have this strong connection with somebody and that you could you know potentially
involve your family again too uh i just it's funny watching it back and seeing how upset all
all the guys were but I'm like I you know I would do it again because I needed I needed to have that
to move forward so and I was just interested in what you actually felt during that time because I'm
watching back and everyone is just so mad so mad so mad like I get uncomfortable watching how
upset everybody was I was like dang I'm so sorry let's take a moment by now you know I love caldrea

your season is airing next right what are you the most nervous for uh most nervous for i mean
probably like you our lives have moved on past the show yeah and the show's a great chapter
it's a it's it's a stepping stone it's it's been a part of our story but my life is so far now removed
from my time as a bachelor now doing like other stuff and being in a a relationship that is not
at all affiliate with the show yeah i think it just like it feels like um it feels a little
defeating to think about like having to watch us and hear about it for only a week i mean people
aren't going to be talking about my season for more than a few days if even a day right
Um, I'm also just nervous.
You like, I just don't want, I've moved on past the critiques of being the bachelor.
I don't get critiqued from being a good or bad bachelor anymore, like the people are
and I kind of like that.
Like, it's been kind of nice to have people critique me on if I can podcast well or if my
coffee's any good.
Right.
So I'm nervous for that.
Yeah, I hear you.
That's, that's the exact same feelings I have.
just like reliving being I would you know my season was obviously this controversial one and I'm like
I'm still going to get people that hated me as the bachelorette because there are people out there
who will always hate or love you on TV um but yeah being critiqued as the lead you just you can't
really do right in so many people's eyes like there's just you you constantly disappoint somebody I think
we're the same way where you don't like disappointing people and constantly through that show you're
just disappointing people the whole time.
time that's how i felt anyways but 100% because nobody ever speaks out when you're like people
only speak out when you're disappointing them because it's just something to talk about so you only
feel like you're disappointing people yeah um so yeah i'm not like this it's funny at this
point jessica's so supportive of this whole thing that there's been no like shame or guilt or
like because there's nothing we can do about like they're going to share it if we like it or not
and so now it's almost funny that this has to be aired again like
like it's ironically humors.
Yeah, I get that.
And Jess, that's so great that you can be supportive and you guys are obviously in such
a good place that that always helps.
But yeah, it's nice to have somebody supportive who can understand and know that it's
uncomfortable, but like it is what it is and we wouldn't be where we are without it.
And we'll just, we'll get through it.
But has Bachelor, has, what?
Do Jason watch your season with you?
No, but he's, he's going to watch this three hour special.
Okay.
Um, we're going to watch it.
He's going to watch it by himself because he's like, I just got to be in the good mindset.
I want to watch it because we're like, we're together because of this show.
And I think he's going to get five minutes in and turn it off.
But we'll see.
Um, Jess has, has Bachelor Nation just been so, like, supportive of you and the relationship and loving to you because you're, I mean, I've met you before.
So I know more than people on the internet.
But you're just such a sweet person and like have such a good heart.
And I just can't imagine people.
loving you two together, but I just want to know that they're supporting you. Oh my gosh. Everyone has
been so nice. Like all of the people that are in Bachelor Nation are all of Vince friends and all
of y'all, like especially the girls, y'all have been so kind to me, like still reach out and
text me just randomly and when you really don't have to. So I just, I appreciate everyone. It makes
a lot easier and less intimidating. And I've never really been like,
anxious or nervous for anything that involves the show because everyone really is so kind.
Yeah. Even like the re-airing, I'm not anxious or nervous about it because I feel like I've met everyone.
And so there's no like intimidations after. That's good. I love that. And I'm glad that people have
been that way for you because that's how it should be. And what's next for the two of you? Because do you have,
oh my gosh, I can't believe I'm about to ask this question because it used to be my biggest pet peeve.
but do you have like a wedding date set and like what it's kind of weird to do that in this time
because of like the whole quarantine and you don't know what that wedding's going to look like
but you can also tell me to just shut up because I used to hate when people ask me that question
no we're definitely uh we're engaged to get married and it would be ideal to be married this year
i you know i've been planning the engagement for three months and
i kind of talked to her family and my family about like wedding dates and kind of when we could
make this happen it was going to be probably by the end of the year we would get married as soon as we
did it we took like a week and didn't talk about it we just got engaged to celebrate it and then we were
sitting one night and like wouldn't she get married and it started to feel like this year isn't a
good option for all like obvious reasons not because we don't want to and so then it was like all right
let's talk about 2021 and her brother plays professional baseball and will be probably now in baseball
until potentially October of next year so then that puts us at November and so I think
I mean, I would be shocked if at the end of November of next year, if we're not married, we have like, it's, we're either going to just get married on our own and go lope or like, but we should be by November of next year.
Okay.
Awesome.
That's, I would actually love to elope.
That's like a dream of mine because I'm, I don't know why that.
I've just never been someone that, like, wants.
I can't wait to have kids and I can't wait to do that.
But like a wedding, I'm like, I'm not the traditional type.
We all know that.
yeah it's uh it's it's it's been more fun now that we've put together like a guest list
of looking at who's going to be there yeah i'm really pumped too for like the bachelor party
because my buddies are live all over now i'm really excited to do that kind of stuff and get people
together again yeah but i'd be down to a lope if it wasn't for the getting people together
yeah i hear you jess where is your brother play isn't it in canada that he plays
Blue jays. Oh my gosh, that's so awesome. Okay, I am geographically challenged when it comes to Canada and the States. I like obviously know everything about Canada. But is, is that, is that a close? Yeah, but I know it's Toronto, but is that close to Denver? Like a flight? No, it's not.
It's above New York. Right. Oh my gosh. I, I always embarrass myself with this. It's so bad. Jason pulled up a
map for me once and it was like point out where these states are and I was like hmm but then I pull out a
Canadian map and he's like so we're even um okay before I let you guys go I'm just going to do
rapid fire questions um just you know Bachelor world loves the behind the scene stuff so Ben
what's the most awkward moment for you on my season doesn't have to do with me just awkward moment
for you on the season most awkward moment probably
I was going to say the sex ed talk, but I don't think that was awkward for you.
You were in your element.
Yeah.
You know, I honestly, I'm going to.
Aladdin.
That was definitely, yeah.
I was going to say, like, Aladdin dancing up there on stage in front of a, like, of a bunch of people judging me for my lack of ability to move.
Yeah.
Was, was just a lot of, it was heavy for me.
I was very embarrassed.
you know what else though honestly i was trying to think back through the most awkward moment and you
want to remember this um was my very first night when i walked out a limo i couldn't get words out
because i was so nervous and so overwhelmed yeah like went inside i was like dang it like i got one shot
this i'm going home and i felt because it was a two night for airing i went home to the hotel and i was
like banging my head against a pill like you just made a fool of yourself on the one thing you could do
I feel awful about myself.
That was awkward.
Like, I just felt awkward for like 48 hours.
Yeah, there is, I mean, I think back onto when I said such inappropriate things out of the limo on The Bachelor, and I did the same thing.
I was like, Caitlin, how did Alon convince you that that was a good idea, you moron?
Like, it was embarrassing, but that was my awkward moment.
Okay.
Who's the person you speak to the most from my season?
him? It'd have to be Jared. Because, you know, Ashley and I have been co-hosting for three years now,
so I get to keep in touch of Jared a lot. But honestly, here recently, Nick has been, Nick and I have
been talking to quite a bit because we always had this, I don't want to say rivalry, but like this
kind of weird, like envy and jealousy towards each other. And we just talked about a couple times.
And now we've like, when he does something that I'm jealous of or vice versa,
we've agreed to just text each other and be like, hey, I, I feel weird about this.
And it's helped.
It's actually helped me like a lot.
And it's helped him a lot.
So we do that more now than ever.
That's cool.
I like that you guys do that.
Okay.
One misconception you think people had about you on the show.
Um, on your season, I think people, I think people, I think,
people expected me to be very like came off like very naive and very like the world was so much
bigger than what I understood and it was I mean this is a whole new world yeah but I think
in real life I was just trying to speak like listen more and speak slurks I didn't know what was
going on but I wasn't overwhelmed by it all and I also think I got a lot of like you and Caitlin
were to match and I agree with that in a lot of ways but I feel like like my time
with you was a lot of fun and i don't think people got to see how much fun it was i never thought
that i was going to be there at the end ring right because i roomed with sean for as long as i did i had
a pretty good idea of where things are going yeah why did they let you guys room together that was
dumb i don't have any clue but what like i enjoyed it so much because i just felt like it was
you made it easier and i think we had like a really good friendship
which is hard to watch on television because when that like the sparks aren't flying you're not
making out in a boat in the middle of a pond with fireworks going on it's like I don't know what's
going on here so yeah we were like running through a field chasing donkeys and like laughing
yeah doing weird stuff yeah it was fun though um and then for the both of you what are three words
to describe your relationship now
you want to start yeah
I would say communicative, empathetic, empathetic, and grace-filled.
Well, that's really nice.
Those are three great ones to have in a relationship.
I know.
I was going to say, like, fun.
That's great, too.
Lots of laughing.
I'll think, like, the opposite side of, I mean, I think that parts that people don't see a lot of men is, like, how goofy he is.
And he just, like, makes me laugh all the time.
Like, our relationship has a lot of dancing, a lot of giggling, a lot of him making fun of me.
It's a sweet way.
Yeah, of course.
But also all the things that he says, it's really, um, uplifting.
That's my third one.
That's a nice.
I always love asking couples those questions because one, it like throws you off and I think that's funny.
And two, because you end up like saying such nice things about each other and then you're like, oh, that's really sweet.
Yeah.
You do like me.
Well, I appreciate you guys taking the time to talk to me and as weird as this whole world is in situation.
It is also like we've all become friends through it.
And I just appreciate both of your friendships so much.
Ben, you've always been so supportive of me through everything.
and I just appreciate you both so much.
Hey, B, thanks for having us.
It's nice to talk to you and have fun with this week.
And I just, if anybody's out there listening, that dog was the cutest day of there.
I couldn't get over, you know, just licking you all over as you were trying to talk.
You were a pro, but that was special.
We'll make sure we get that video footage out because he's so freaking cute.
And if I'm not paying attention to him, he's like, hello.
Congratulations on everything.
Yeah, that's awesome.
Super fun for you.
Thank you so much.
And if, Jess, you need to text through this week, next week, let me know.
I'm here for you, Ben, same thing.
And next time you're in Nashville and you're on the golf course that I live on,
could you please let a girl know?
I would love to.
That would be a dream.
We should all go golfing.
Just do golf?
I drive the car and I've started to putt.
Perfect.
You know what?
That's all you need to know.
We'll all go one day and hang out together.
That would be awesome.
Okay.
Awesome.
Thank you guys so much.
Have a good day.
Bye.
Bye.
Thanks to all my vinos for listening to today's podcast made possible by our friends at Breyer's ice cream.
You probably know Breyer's as America's number one ice cream brand known for their natural vanilla ice cream.
I'm sure we're all very familiar.
If you've been listening to the podcast lately, you might have heard me talking about Breyer's treats that I've been loving lately.
These treats won't undo your healthy eating or all the work you've been doing.
They are my new go-to.
Briar's Carb Smart is a line of sweet treats with 3 to 5 grams net carbs per serving.
The full Carb Smart range has 3 grams of fiber or more per serving, plus it's only 150 calories or less per serving.
That's crazy.
Breyer's Carb Smart is the perfect companion to your low carb lifestyle.
Carb Smart comes in tubs and bars in amazing flavors like caramel swirl, chocolate-covered almond, vanilla, and peanut butter.
My personal fave.
I always try and eat relatively healthy.
I'm conscious about what I put into my body.
And Carb Smart is the perfect way to get something satisfying and sweet without feeling guilty about it later because I don't know if you're like me.
I always need a sweet treat after dinner.
I've been diving into the bars after dinner and sneaking a bite from the tubs sometimes during the day when I just need a little something delicious.
There's not a flavor I haven't enjoyed yet, but you know how I feel about that peanut butter and chocolate covered almond.
Yes, my faves.

So next I am speaking with someone we all know and love.
I'm talking about the one and only super, what do you call yourself?
Super love man.
What is it?
Super love man.
it was love man kately oh yeah love man i mean i just watched it last night i should probably remember that
jared i don't think i didn't say this but like obviously maybe that wasn't my uh idea yeah i know i
it's funny because you know you you're in the hotel room you're waiting to go get out of the limo
and all these producers have these great ideas of what you should do um and what you should say
to the bachelor of the bacheloret and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't i liked yours um
I was also reminded of the fact that you voted for Brit, which is always a touchy subject.
But I, yeah, you know, I always tease you about that.
As you well should.
But like, you have to understand, like, for my perspective, I was just a kid from Rhode Island.
And, like, I was getting on the limo.
Both of you guys were celebrities to me.
Both of you guys are super hot.
And I was like, hold on.
You're telling me that I have to pick one of these girls.
Like, that's the dumbest shit I've ever heard in my entire life.
It was the dumbest shit I've ever heard.
I still give them a hard time for it.
But it's funny, too, because, I mean, now Britt is married.
She's like eight months pregnant.
And I'm like, who really won here?
Okay?
She's married and having kids before me.
And I was there to find husband.
Anyways.
So it all worked out.
Exactly.
Exactly.
And we got to see a little bit of Ashley last night in the episode with you, too.
You weren't there, though, when she was, she came on my season for that rap date.
And I met your sister.
and Ashley was there, and you weren't on that date.
No, I was, because you were very gracious to give me the 101 in New York.
And, you know, it's funny about the, so thank you for that, by the way.
But, you know, it's funny about that rap battle date was that I wasn't there.
And obviously, at the time I was pursuing you.
And then fast forward five years in the audience that day for that rap battle,
the battle that I was not at, was my future wife Ashley, my future sister-in-law, Lauren,
My future groomsman, Nick, my sister and my best friend Crystal, who's the one who signed me up for the show, all in the audience that day when I wasn't there.
Oh, my gosh.
And I mean, that would have been crazy if you were on that date and all those people were there and you just didn't even know what was about to happen to you.
But that's crazy.
Yeah, I remember meeting your sister and she was like, where's Jared?
And I was like, oh, shoot, he's not on this date.
It's all right.
You took care of me.
Hello.
Good morning, princess.
Oh, my gosh.
She's all pretty already.
Well, I'm only pretty already because I have to do a Good Morning America interview after this.
So otherwise, I would look exactly like you do.
Do you have a little zip patch on?
Yeah, it's...
I love you.
To be quite honest, it's like far less distracting having the zip cream on than the actual zip showing.
I don't...
I think it's from the masks, but I've been breaking out and zits all over my chin from wearing a mask out.
So my sister thinks, too.
Yeah, it's the worst.
Anyways, you look adorable and you still look gorgeous.
and you guys are so cute.
What a fun little journey we've been on to where we are at today, hey?
Yeah, wait.
That was the most Canadian thing I've ever heard in my entire life.
I was wondering if you were going to call me out for that.
I said it and I was like, oh, shoot.
What a journey this has become, I know.
It's so funny to think back.
Like, Jared comes out of the limo.
He votes for Britt.
He ends up with Caitlin.
Well, not ends up with, but having me as the Bachelorette.
we go on this wild ride i love rewatching the ireland time when we um we're driving because
we're driving on the opposite side of the road it was a standard car i think i ruined the whole
car just like hitting the curb every two seconds you cried twice i remember that because you were
so nervous and worked up and that got me worked up and it was like oh shit is is kately going to kill me
right now because you kept stalling out the car and then you were driving on the other side of the road
and you're and then we were going into a roundabout and yeah people just driving crazy and then you
started crying and i was like oh no like i just can't be good watch okay so i watched that part of
your season after i already like met and fell in love with jared right yeah is watching that scene
like that day that made me the most jealous of you really it's just like just like a fun natural like
real life couple of rapport.
Well, like, and I remember you said this after the season, and at the time, I didn't know
how to take it, but now I look back kind of very fondly, you said, you called me your,
like, best friend on the show.
Uh-huh.
And I'm kind of weirdly, like, that makes me happy now, because, like, I think back on the
Ireland Day, and I'm like, even though we weren't, like, romantically in love with each other,
like, we had so much fun together, just quoting movies.
I remember in Ireland.
They didn't show this, but it was, we were like doing B-roll or something like that.
And we were talking about how everything is named O'Brien's.
I don't know if you remember this.
I do you remember that?
Oh, where are you getting your laundry done?
O'Brien's laundry mat.
I'm like, oh, where's the Chinese food around here?
O'Brien's Chinese food.
That's like, he loves that humor.
That's my humor.
We did, we had the same sense of humor.
And like you said, we always quoted.
the same movies and I know it was so funny because who wants to be like put in the friend zone after
that but like you said now with everything of where we're at it's it's such a nice memory of how well
we got along and I always had the most fun with you I always remember being like oh it's just a
breath of fresh air if I can hang out with Jared it's not dramatic it's not like talking about
the other guy it's not this it's not that it's just like we're going to quote movies and like talk
what we have to say on camera but like have fun um without having to talk about all that stuff so
It's going to be eight hours of Anchorman, dumb and dumber.
And the producers are probably like, we can't use any of this.
Yeah, they always had to steer our conversation away.
Caitlin, you have to talk about how, like, there were a couple producers that were like, sure that Jared was going to win.
Oh, well, because they loved Jared so much.
Like, Bennett, who is my main producer, who's now an executive producer, he was so dead set on Jared being the one that he was like, okay, great, get it over with with Sean and Nick.
And then once you guys, like, we'll have you guys break up.
You can fly to where Jared is, knock on his door, and that's how you guys will end up together.
That's so insane.
That was, like, the weirdest time in my life because I just, you, you, I didn't get a rose.
I just left.
And then literally four days later, I got a phone call.
It was like, hey, we're going to send producers out to your house and film you with your family.
And it was like, why?
And they're like, well, we can't tell you why.
We're just going to do it.
Oh, my gosh.
They were probably setting up for it in case it happened.
definitely were they definitely were they asked me they asked me point blank they were like
would you be willing to go back on katelyn's season and i was like i was like only if kately
asked me that's so crazy because it was so dramatic between mishan and nick it was like
at the at one point i was like i'm not going to pick either one of them this is getting ridiculous
and they probably were like hmm this could be a great way to end the season that's why he was
so messed up in paradise because he was still like what why
were there going to come back to me yeah it wasn't like closure there's no closure yeah yeah that's
so then so then you went on paradise and ashley this is what season of paradise three
two yeah yeah okay so two um you know ashley was on chris's season with me you were on my season
you go to paradise and you're still in this mindset of like why the hell would they ask me to
maybe join katelyn's season again or what's happening you don't know at this point that i picked
anybody because reality Steve said I picked nobody and so you pick no one which even added
oh perpetuated it yeah my mind was going because literally what happened you have to understand my
timeline during this I left four days later producers come out they film me asked me questions of like
would you go back on and then literally like six days later I get a phone call hey would you want to do
paradise yeah and like man that's a weird transition now you want me to date other people literally
five days after you just told me, would I go back on Caitlin's season?
Right.
And then it came out, like, a week later, reality, Steve was like,
Caitlin didn't pick anybody.
And I was like, what the fuck is going on?
And Jared's like, I'm going to end with her.
Well, it was funny.
And then I remember being in paradise, and the topic comes up of who you picked.
And Jared was like, oh, yeah, she picked no one.
And I was like, she picked shot.
Yeah.
Oh, you knew.
Right, right, right.
Yeah.
And then I was like, yeah, regardless of Steve,
it wrong and like I bet you Jared's heart just
I just was so confused during that time
it was it was I mean
it's it's a weird time it's all so hard
to wrap your head around anything in that world
let alone you know like you went through
the ringer with like oh she picked
nobody she could come back for you
you could come back on the season and then Ashley's like
but there's also me
it was like so
in such extreme world
because, you know, going in Paradise being so confused.
And then Ashley, just being Ashley, where she's like, she just hones in on one thing.
And it's like, that is mine and nothing will stop me from obtaining this thing.
Yeah.
And it was just like the craziest time of my life.
I love that it worked, though.
I mean, I love that Ashley is just the, you're the most like self-aware, but like, like, um, self-deprecating.
Like you just, you do.
hone in on something and you're like that's what I want
and I will go for it and I don't care how many
years it takes and then you got to
a point where you're like okay I'm
awesome what's your problem
and then Jared was like wait what is my
problem and then now you guys are married like
what? 100% that's how
it went especially after like Bachelor
of Paradise 3 I was like
no not my issue anymore
he's blacked out oh I told you this
from the very beginning like
she always would say
that like she'd always build me up
in her head. I'm like, Ashley, I am a headcase. Like, you don't understand. And then now
she married me and she fully understands. Yeah. But it works though. And you guys are so cute and so
loved. And it's like one of my favorite bachelor stories because Ashley, you've always been so
obsessed with like romantic movies. Jared, you're a movie guy. And you guys literally created
your own love story that should actually be made into a movie. I've always said that. It would be so good.
It could. It couldn't be.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then I found somebody who would recreate movies for me on Instagram.
I mean, yeah.
Only, I feel like he's like the only straight guy in the world that would be like Broadway
musicals, let's do them.
No, Jason is obsessed with Broadway and musicals and they might be the only two.
Does he want to recreate?
You guys should recreate.
Like, I know you did, you know, Star Wars Born, but do music.
Yeah.
We love musicals and recreating them.
We really do.
We should just.
post them more. Oh, you guys should. I feel like Jason, yeah, is on the same way, blank
as me. Like when I was a kid, like I, when I saw like back shoot boys and in sync, I'm like,
those guys are like thousands of women are chasing after these guys. Why would I not want to
be like Nick Carter? Then little boys were like, oh, you're gay if you like them. He was like,
no, don't you understand what you get? That's like guys I grew up dancing with. They're like,
I get to hang around hot girls all the time dancing when other people were making fun of them.
Let's take a quick pause.

Let's talk for a quick minute about Nick coming on to my season because obviously that was like the biggest deal
for everybody and watching back i didn't think first of all i didn't think i didn't think i was going to be
able to watch this back and i did and i'm really glad i did and i went through a lot of emotions
a lot of highs a lot of lows and i was laughing and it was it was fine but um that i cannot
believe how pissed off everybody was that nick came on it was like the biggest deal and everyone's
like he's not here for the right reasons which i said to ben in the last interview that i really
truly believe he was there for the right reasons because i don't think he would put himself
in that position again involve his family unless he was there for me but everybody questioned his
intentions we didn't get to see your reaction really about him coming back on what was going through
your head and how did you truly feel when he came on well honestly i was really nervous because
i found out that he was coming back on the season the day of our one-on-one and i found out
the morning of i went to go get breakfast and joshua albers was like he was so mad
You can hear it.
Oh, he was pissed.
And he's like to hear that like this guy from last season's coming on, Nick.
And I, I didn't watch Andy Dorffman's season, but I saw like the first limo exit night.
And then I saw another episode.
So I knew who Nick was.
And I was like, I think he's kind of a dick.
Like, this is what I'm hearing about this guy.
And so that day, I was convinced that our one-on-one was going to turn into a two-on-one.
And like, I was like, I'm out.
I'm out.
Like, this sucks.
Because I was just convinced that, like, he was going to come on the day and it would turn into a 201, and then they would force you to give out a rose to someone.
And actually, producers were super cool then that day.
They were like, I promise you, that's not the case.
But when I first, when he first worked in the room, like, listen, we all know Nick, we all love Nick.
But when your first impression with Nick, he does come off, like, very cocky and confident.
Like, he has a certain swagger.
He's got that grin, and you're like, this guy might be a douchebag.
Wait, I have to say something now because that was also the first day that I ever met Nick
because I was in the audience of that, of the crap battle date, which happened before that.
Okay, so I didn't understand Nick from Andy's season, and I was, of course, like, a hardcore fan of Andy's season,
and I was still, like, in that, like, half I am in Bachelor Nation, but half of me is totally
very girly, and I was very nervous to see Nick show up, because he's kind of like, he was
even an icon, a Bachelor icon, and he sits next to me and having been totally like
Team Josh Murray watching Andy's season. Yeah, I know. I was like, I thought that like Josh was the
hot one. I only understood why she would want Josh. Didn't understand Nick at all. Nick sat
next to me. I was like, I get it. I know. There's something like mysterious about him where you like
don't get it until you get it.
And then you're like, now I get it.
Don't get it until you're in person.
Yeah.
He's got like a certain aura about him.
But yeah, I was like, once I got to know Nick, we started getting along.
And then I think it's funny because Nick's evolution on the show, I was telling him this.
We're like his evolution in the show, like he's become more and more beloved as time has gone on.
And I feel like that's like at least my experience with Nick where I'm very like, he's very much the closest thing I have to a brother, I feel like, where it's that like love, love, hate relationship where I love.
where I love them, 9% of the time, but 10% of the time,
like, he can be very aloof and detached and, like, very selfish.
And, but he'll always, like, he'll always turn it around.
Like, I always give this example.
One time we went out to the lunch and we were, like, 45 minutes and, like,
he was on his phone the entire time, very detached, not looking at me.
And I was like, why did I even come to lunch?
And then we were walking out and then, like, he gave me a hug.
And it was like, hey, all of you, man.
Like, it was really good seeing you.
We need to hang out more.
Like, I miss seeing him.
And I was like, God damn it.
Like I, you just, you get me.
Guy, like, you know, you know how you do.
He just turns it all around.
His good moments always overpower the bad.
And I think that's what, like, our friendship kind of evolved to.
So, like, at first it was always hesitant, but now, you know, just like on the season.
Yeah, it's interesting.
You say that because it is that is so, you just, you want to hate him.
There's something about him, I think, especially as a guy because he comes across like that.
but I think that's his like facade like I think behind all of that is just you know this sweet guy who's actually really nice and has good intentions but from the outside you just want to punch him in the throat but yeah he has he's evolved as a person too and and people I think people have really turned and especially him having a podcast and having conversations and just being like he is just being himself and you can't argue that so
Um, that's funny. Okay, so we're going to do a few, um, rapid fire questions before I let you
guys go. Um, what is your favorite behind the scenes moment? And I want to know Ashley's two.
What's yours? Do you have one? I don't know. But when people talk about that, like,
you think it doesn't have to be, um, like it can be from Chris's season. It can be like something
funny. Yeah, when people ask me that question, I think of Chris's season for some reason.
I think there's just too like emotionally draining for both of us to have like any.
moment where we were yeah a comedy there yeah it was straight drama for two seasons for us
um with christmas season just like i wish people got to see more hotel moments more
moments like us girls getting along because i don't know that there's any season where the girls
got along more than that i agree with you like even in like some dramatic moments where like some
of us didn't get along we still all it just we moved past those things really quickly and like
laughed about them and had we so many good friendships came out of that season i feel like well yeah and
i'm thinking like even early on like there's usually now multiple villains throughout a season and
we didn't like most of them overcome it right or they get eliminated early early on but with us
the only person that was like the wacky one was actually s in the beginning and we only had one villain
and that's why I mean
they couldn't even find
multiple villains
I know I feel like
and this is I bet every bachelor
and bachelor it says this but I feel like we had
the best group of women on Christmas season
and I don't even actually think
I'm biased in this I think a lot of people agree
I think I had the best group of guys on my season
oh well I agree with you wholeheartedly
about both I really do
yeah of course there are so many good guys
that come from that like so
many and everybody like i i think back onto that season with such great memories of like how much i
loved so many of the guys like just even like just as people yeah right no i agree i think
some rapid fire this i know i was going to say absolutely not rapid fire uh i would say my
quickly was uh ben and i when uh you were on the three on one i think it was whatever
joe nick and john and uh so it was just ben and i back in the hotel and you know you're
always miced up so we were really afraid to actually vocalize our thoughts and then let us go in
this sauna in the hotel together which we had no mics and there was no producer so we got in there
and it was like an hour of ben and i being like all right what the hell is going on and just have
this like raw honest conversation about what has happened what the fuck's gonna happen
what's endearing about that is both of you were like how did two guys like us get this far on the
Oh, dude. Ben was so funny. He's like, bro, I thought I would be, I thought I was going to maybe
make like top 15 and then now it's top four. What I was talking about not being self-aware
or humble to the extreme. We were just, humble to the extreme. Oh, it's so funny. Oh, wait,
Caitlin, I mean, we mentioned that it's really sad that our crystal season isn't being aired because
we all know that that is the best bachelor season. It was so good.
I'm like, I mean, nothing against Chris Souls.
They, he could have been a boring bachelor, but like, I thought maybe it would be.
I was like, what is the season going to be like?
And then it was, I honestly think it was one of the best seasons because the girls were so funny.
Yeah.
Yeah, the girls were funny.
That's the thing.
Like, almost every girl had a really good sense of humor.
I wish they were airing that season.
I would love to watch that back.
I mean, I guess we can.
You can just go on the internet and watch it.
but I wish they were re-airing it
because it would be fun to relive with everybody.
Yeah.
Okay, first thing that comes to mind
when you think of the Bachelor franchise.
Ashley.
Oh, baby.
Oh.
Um.
I mean, you aren't my wife.
That'd be weird.
Okay, so Jared.
That's cute.
I like that.
What is,
uh,
oh,
what are you most looking forward for for Claire season?
Just Claire.
yeah just like all the little like yeah i say have claire
deals with uh the quote unquote like villains of the season yeah yeah oh i can't wait
she's going to be such a firecracker yeah any guy that shows a little bit of a red flag i
can't wait to see her call her out yeah she's going to get the pointer finger out yeah she's just
gonna like she's not going to care about like edit or she's not going to care about anything like that
she is always going to be 100% herself.
Totally.
Highly entertaining.
Highly entertaining.

We heard that Matt James is now the new bachelor.
I'm not going to lie.
When I heard he was going on Clarisse's and I was like,
I hope he's the next bachelor, like a long time ago,
because he's a friggin beast.
He's so good looking.
He seems like he's a really great guy.
Like Jason met him.
They went for lunch one time and he was like,
he's such a good guy.
And I was like, yes.
So when they announced that, I was so pumped.
But I was like,
I hope that doesn't take away from like Claire
and her moment right now
because he was supposed to be on her season.
But that being said,
I'm so pumped for him to be The Bachelor.
I feel like we're all so excited to watch that season.
What do you guys feel about that?
Yeah, I'm really excited for his season.
I think, I don't think it will take away from Claire.
I hope not.
I think right now we're thinking it's taking place for Claire
just because the announcement.
But once Claire's season starts,
it'll be a lot of cool.
And I really liked,
So this shows like how good of a guy Matt really is.
I don't know him personally.
I'm in a fantasy group text message with him.
Yeah, I know.
Jason's in it.
Oh, Jared.
Yeah, we played fantasy football last year.
And, but Dave Portnoy, Barstall Sports, Steve O'Brien,
El Prez, he tweeted he's like, oh, congratulations about James being The Bachelor
and in honor, like, here's when he crashed one of my pizza reviews.
And it's Matt, like, last year with, like, a group of people.
kids that like Matt
Matt walked by yeah he's doing the charity
and then he was like
hey oh praise you're my guy and he says hi
and then like the kids all get a slice of pizza
but it was so cool
because it was just like oh wow that's
that's just Matt
with his charity working with kids like he always
does and I don't know
it just like it was so authentic
that's really nice yeah I was like
oh that's really cool to see
I think I was very similar
reason why I'm at
about it. It's because of the way that Hannah
reacted on her Instagram that day
that shit was announced. Like, that kind
of genuine giddiness
comes from somebody
that you are like, you think is
the most amazing person in your life.
Not to say that Nick's the most
amazing person in my life.
But when I, but when Nick became
the bachelor, just like that good-hearted
big brother figure in your life.
Yeah. Yeah.
That's what? That's...
Yeah. So, yeah, basically, like, I
think what's exciting about Matt is that the people that know him are like holy crap stoked yeah and i think
because he is such a good human and he like you know he's just you can tell he has a kind heart i think
the producers will also like be on his side and really genuinely like want him to find love and i feel
like we're going to see a really great season there yeah i mean they have plenty of time to cast
because this might be you know usually they have like a month like they cast girls before the bachelor is
announced and now they have the bachelor and they have like four months probably to cast so
all the guys all the guys who are going to now go on clare season they they know they won't
have a chance to be the bachelor so they're not going to be like trying so hard to be that perfect
person i really like that i really like that too okay last question is three words to describe
your relationship now after you okay well lately i've been very playful
Um, that's a good one. Um, warm. And, uh, confidant.
Comphod. Yeah, because like, who else do we talk? Do we talk about things like this? It's like me and you and Lauren.
Or is the only people in the world that I would talk about certain topics with. No, I agree. Uh, I mean, this is two words, but I'll use it for one.
Best friend. No, okay. Duh. Uh, uh. Uh.
loving. I know it's cliche, but I can't think of anything else.
No, that's great.
And my third one, encouraging.
There you go. Hey. Well, thank you guys so much. You know how much I love and adore you both.
And I'm just obviously so happy how it's all worked out for everybody.
And I couldn't love you both more.
Oh, thank you. I love you. I'm excited to see you a little more lately.
You can say it because this will come out after.
Yeah. Okay. I'll be in L.A.
I'll be in L.A. I think I leave the...
Actually, I have no idea when it's going to happen because who knows.
Congratulations. Thank you. I'm so excited. I like, that's the last thing in the world I thought he was going to tell me. I, like I said on the show, like I thought he was going to ask me to take over his job because dancing with the stars seems so far-fetched to me.
Oh, that's so crazy. That was the first time you got the extent. No way.
Yeah, that was my genuine reaction. Like, I had no idea. It's crazy. Yeah.
Congratulations.
We're so excited.
She's going to win.
They're not going to have two bachelorette's back-to-back win.
I know.
But I'm not, I don't, maybe they don't consider me like the bachelorette anymore because it's been so long.
Like now I'm like, off the vine host.
Exactly.
I mean, that's badass.
If they introduce you like that.
I would be very happy about that.
Talk about goals.
Yeah, goals.
Okay, well, I'm going to let you go because I've got Cupcake coming up next on the pod.
Don't cakes, we love them.
I will for sure.
Thank you guys so much for being on.
Bye.
Bye, Kayla, thanks.
Okay, bye.

Oh, hi. How are you?
Hi, I'm good.
Oh, my gosh, you look so handsome.
Oh, thank you.
You look beautiful as always.
Thanks, Chris.
Beautiful is the day we met.
Oh, no you're going to make me cry.
How are you?
Obviously, we know you're a dentist.
We all love Cupcake.
He came in in the Cupcake.
I'm forgetting the line you dropped when you pulled up to the mansion.
You were in the cupcake and you said something about sweets.
And I can't remember what it was right now, even though I just watched it last night.
What did you say?
Oh, nice.
It was something like, hey, nice to meet you.
You know, I'm a dentist and I wanted to do something really sweet for you, lady.
so I decided to bring my cupcake because I do have a sweet tooth, something like that.
Yeah, something like that. It was my favorite limo entrance of all time.
Thank you.
So, yeah, we know you're a dentist, someone who has actually made my teeth absolutely amazing.
So thank you. What have you been up to these days?
Thank you. Well, you know, I was thinking back, it's been almost exactly three years since I was on your podcast.
Was it really?
Yeah.
Wow.
Believe that.
No?
And off the vine was just a little.
seedling. Yes. I had just moved to LA and I came back to Nashville to visit. So since then,
I actually started my own practice. Yes, that's amazing. I joined with some friends from dental
school and we built this new office from scratch. So that was kind of a labor of love for like
a year. And then we finally opened in November 2019. I came to that one, right?
Um, let me think. Did you come see me there? I think you've seen it, but I don't know if you've seen the new location. I haven't seen the new location. Yeah, you got to come to this one. It's even nicer.
Well, um, I don't know. Have you, you haven't seen the three hour special there airing, right?
No. Okay. Well, they told me at the end some news that makes me I'll be in L.A. for, I hope, a couple months.
Oh, really? I'm finally going on dancing with the stars.
Yes.
Awesome. I know. I'm so pumped. So I'll be able to see you a lot. Amazing. So worth the wait.
Worth the wait. And you'll have to come to a recording and watch.
Final redemption. It's about time.
So what have you been up to during quarantine?
Honestly, it's just been, it's been nice because I am so involved in all my businesses now.
Where before I just had a team and I was traveling and I was just like so busy doing a bunch of other things.
that I felt like I wasn't involved enough in what I was the most passionate about.
And now being home, I've been able to be on every single business call.
I've been able to like just really dive into the business side of things and learn so much.
So I've been very busy with that and loving every second of it because I've just like I'm kind of done traveling.
I'm I'm so happy for everything I've been able to do.
But I've really enjoyed just staying home and focusing on the things that I'm working on.
So it's been really nice.
That's awesome. I mean, who knows what you're capable of. You just came out with a number one hit single. You've got a podcast. You're going to be on TV again tomorrow. I mean, you're just building the empire.
Oh, that's crazy. I mean, honestly, Caitlin, you've, like, you've continued to, like, inspire people over time, which is just fantastic. You're always kind of like an icon starting with our season. And you've kept doing that. You've kept putting your voice out there. So just wanted to give you that little.
bit of praise. Thank you. You're so sweet. You've done good things. I've always appreciated. You've
been, you've always been so supportive since the show. And I just, I appreciate that. And I appreciate our
friendship and how we can have a friendship after that because we went through something so crazy
together. And obviously, like talking about quarantine, the world is not back to normal yet.
Some dental offices are still currently closed, right? Yeah. Some of them are starting to open up slowly.
we've been open for about two, three weeks, but I have had a lot of patients come in who, you know,
their dental office is still closed for a number of health department reasons and stuff.
Let's take a moment. By now, you know I love Caldrea, whether that's their hand soap, their lotion,
just amazing things that they create for around your home. Caldrea is a consciously crafted home
and body care brand that combines thoughtful ingredients with delectable sense, making caring for
ourselves and our homes a beautiful experience.
In addition to the hand soaps and lotions, Caldrea also has home cleaning products that don't compromise in scent.
These home cleaning products effectively clean while transforming your home with your favorite fragrances.
We're spending a lot of time at home right now, obviously, so we want to make sure that our home is clean, fresh, and smells amazing.
Caldrea makes cleaning actually enjoyable and worry-free with incredible effective formulas.
Their products use a combination of essential oils from flowers and herbs and other things.
thoughtfully chosen ingredients.
Their home cleaning products are available in scents like pear blossom agave and sea salt
noroli that customers absolutely love.
Caldrea customers have said that these products are powerful yet gentle cleanup and that guests
have commented on the wonderful scent when they linger while I clean up after a dinner
party.
I have to agree with these customers.
These products work so well and make my home smell the best.
Jason has actually in love with them too.
He made a comment the other day while I was using them.
He goes, you love your little smells that just calm you down, which I do.
I used to try to make him do the dishes, but now I legitimately don't dread cleaning up
because these scents make it such a better experience.

I was going to ask you, do you have any words of wisdom or some tips and advice on how to not let my dental hygiene slip during quarantine?
because I already missed two appointments.
Yes, absolutely.
Well, that's the thing.
Like, it was stressful because we had patients on the schedule for March, April, May that we had to push out.
And it's like, I want to help you.
But the thing is, like, so much of what we do as dentists can be prevented at home.
If you have just the right routine, if you have just the right equipment at home, you can prevent gum disease.
You can prevent cavities.
And it's just those little things, those few minutes that you do every day.
So I made some videos actually during quarantine because I had finally some time on my hands.
Amazing.
And to just like help push that message of like oral care.
So you've got to be brushing your teeth.
It's got to be like an electric toothbrush in my opinion.
Yeah.
You've got to be flossing.
Yeah.
And flossing's always been kind of like the joke like everybody says that they do it, but nobody actually does it.
Yes.
But really flossing is so underrated.
It's, I would say equally, if not more important sometimes than brushing your teeth.
Yeah.
And people need to know that if you have eating gums, that's not normal.
That's not good.
It's not okay.
So I've tried to inspire people or whatever, get the word out.
And so finally, I started working with Waterpick a few years ago because I saw my patients have a huge improvement,
not only in their health, you know, they wouldn't have as much buildup, they wouldn't have
much bleeding, but they were like, hey, I'm actually, you know, flossing every day now with, like,
the water flossers that they have, they think it's fun because it's really like a paradigm shift.
You're washing your teeth, you're washing your gums, and it's more fun.
It is.
So, anyways, so the kind of like the latest and greatest product that I've been using is the
sonic fusion, which is legit a flossing toothbrush.
It's not, yeah, it's not like a gimmick because I've seen some of these toothbrushes that have, like, little extra long bristles that say they have flossing action.
This is literally a jet stream of water that comes through the brushhead.
Huh.
And, yeah, so the research is clear.
It's more effective than brushing and flossing with, like, string floss.
It's like twice as effective.
So anyways, I think that everybody should go check it out at waterpick.com because it will seriously be a game.
changer. It's really small. It fits on your countertop. Yeah. And take this opportunity with
quarantine ending to have a fresh start and make your dentist proud. That's okay. I'm actually
kind of a nerd when it comes to dentists. Like, so is my girlfriend Bree. We like going to the
dentist where we're like, um, like teachers pet. Like I like when they're like, oh, you've been
flossing. And I'm like, I know. Um, or when I like go and they're like, I can tell you've been
wearing your invisibleine trays. I'm like, I have 18 hours a day. Like,
I'm just so proud of it.
But three years ago, I think it was when you were on my podcast.
You gave me a water pick.
And my mom and I have both used it now for years because my mom is kind of a crazy
person about flossing.
Like sometimes she overdoes it.
And I introduced her to the water pick after, I think we did that funny video like years
ago where we were using it for the first time and water was like spraying our faces.
It was hilarious.
But you were doing it on the kitchen table.
Yes, definitely not at a sink.
And I didn't do it properly.
But now that we've learned, we both love it so much.
And I'm not just saying that.
We really do.
And wait, I was going to ask, you made some videos.
Where can people find those?
I have a dental-only Instagram called Toothstagram at Toothstagram.
If you want to check that out.
There is some, like, actually, I would say, hopefully helpful videos, informational.
It really is kind of like a fun spin on dental stuff.
So if you're going to be going to the dentist soon and you have some questions, just take a quick look there.
You don't have to, but I've made some videos over time.
So they're kind of quirky, but yeah.
That's great.
I love quirky.
That's what people want to see on the internet.
Nobody just wants to see like a mundane, like, blah, blah, blah, video.
It's quirky is good.
It works.
Well, we wouldn't expect anything different from Cupcake, but yeah.
Yeah, it's very true.
So we didn't, or you haven't seen, because we're recording this a little bit before.
you haven't seen the three hours special yet right i know how how is it it's great it's so fun i mean
it's they definitely focus a lot on the nick shan katelyn drama that was the season so um that's a big
part of it which is really hard and emotional to relive but at the same time it was so long it was
so long ago the breakup wasn't so long ago so it's a weird um mix of feelings to just feel like
it's just overwhelming but it's it's fun to watch back certain things because we also had so much fun
on that season and there was a lot of good moments that I'm like I wish they showed more of those
but I get it like it's it was a controversial season that we need to focus on that part of it
because it was a big part of the season but well well you know like we we did the filming
and I got home I was like oh my gosh
like obviously it didn't work out the way I wanted to at the time, but the whole thing was so fun.
And then when it aired back, I was like, oh my gosh, this is like dramatic and stressful.
I don't remember it being like that. So there was a lot of good that was there too.
Yeah. I was, that's what I was going to ask. Like something we didn't get to see on on TV,
what is like some of your favorite memories that weren't shown? Do you remember any? I know it was so long ago.
I mean, I just feel like none of our conversations really aired.
I know.
We had so many good ones.
We had, I mean, we were always joking around.
You know, I got to talk to, you know, time is so important in this process.
And we had like 15, 20 minute conversations that were always easy and fun.
And like, we always had a friendship from the beginning.
So I just wish people could have seen that.
I agree.
And that's kind of what a lot of people say.
Like, I just talked to Jared and Ashley, who say hi, by the way.
I also talked to Ben.
And everybody kind of feels that same way.
like I did have such good like you can call it friendships it wasn't friendships in the moment
but now looking back it kind of was and it's so sad that we can't just have like a three
hour special on the moments we never we've never seen before you know like that's what I would
love to see behind the scenes deleted scenes yeah like moments that didn't get to be shown before
that would be cool like my favorite moment with us well I mean there's so many good ones but
the funniest moment was I know you know what I'm going to say when we were in
When we were in New York, I have to find, you know what I'm going to do?
I'm going to go back and find that clip because I have my whole season somewhere on my television.
And I'm going to post that one moment because it's so funny.
We're sitting on a couch in New York.
And remember we walked in and we're in this lounge and there's a bunch of people and cameras.
And I'm like, how are these people not like looking around wondering what's happening?
And they're like, oh, we're like hired to be here.
high and we're like oh hey yeah we're like oh hey okay so now this is even more weird yeah
it was so funny so we're sitting on this couch and um you were looking at my fingers and i have
the worst nails i always have i always bite them so i'm i'm you're looking at my fingers and i got
like embarrassed because i wanted to tell you like uh i bite my nails and i was like yeah i bite my
nails and you thought I said, will you bite my nails? And so you like started biting my nails. And I was
like, what are you doing? You're like, oh, did you not say bite your nails? And I was like, no, I said,
I bite my nails. And you're like, oh, God, this is awkward. Anything to win the Bachelorette's heart.
That's what she wanted at the moment. So I thought. So I decided to give it a little nibble.
I figured, hey, you know, that's okay. She must like it. And then you're like, wait,
what are you doing this is you need to stop and i'm like i die every time i think about that one scene i'm
like i'm so glad they showed that did they air that on tv or was that on like a clip it was a deleted
scene on the website okay i'm going to go back and search for it because it's i just even just
thinking about it makes me cry laughing it was so funny and your face after i just i can't get over it
that that was my favorite mom you think you've had an embarrassing date moment just go watch that you'll
feel better. Yeah, I agree. Which date was your absolute favorite? Um, hmm, it's, I mean, it was,
the cliff was a lot of fun. We got to go beforehand, uh, we met at that castle, which was cool,
and there was that cool dog and his name was Einstein. I love Einstein. Yes, of course. And it was a
beautiful day. It was like March in Ireland and it was 70 degrees in sunny.
which was crazy.
We got to see the beautiful countryside, you know.
Our helicopter came to pick us up.
Yeah, helicopter, we flew over, and we had a nice time together.
You know, things were looking grim a few hours later,
but up until that point, you know what, even as in the midst of my emotional moment,
I was like, this is amazing.
this is great TV so you're welcome you did make great TV on that that exit that was that
was a that was a heartbreaking yet great TV moment of a of the show it was fun and you know even
though it wasn't going to work out between us like that I think there was a few moments where
we solidified that hey we we are friends and look at us now five years later still friends yeah
exactly and other than your dental practice what does life look like for you
these days because you're in a relationship right yes so um i've been dating beck and i've been dating
for about a year and a half amazing so um super sweet girl um really supportive but really smart so
i lose a lot of arguments you know but she she inspires me she's super quick wit and just the
biggest heart ever oh that's amazing i'll i can't wait to meet her when i come out there i'm very
excited. She's very excited to meet you too. How does she feel about this season re-airing?
You know, some of those nerves are coming back. It was always like Monday during the day when it was
going to air at night. You're like, oh, boy, what's going to happen? And I know that I'm not,
you know, there's plenty of us that are going to be put up there for scrutiny. And my moments
were, you know, kind of funny, kind of maybe a little bit embarrassing. So I'm a little nervous
about that but no don't be nervous it's all good yeah it's fun don't worry they show a lot of just
the drama so you're good i mean i honestly i do feel for you i mean it was miserable for you i think
while it was airing it was just because this was like the first time social media was like
part of the season right initially so you had to really um blaze that trail you had to be the
one of the first to endure that. And like those boundaries and rules weren't set. And you were just
up against the unknown. So I think now everybody's going to look at it with a much different lens.
And to your credit, you've sort of fought for that. So I'm sure you're going to be fine. But it's
always hard kind of digging up the past and having to be, you know, so public. I love everything
you just said. That was really great. And well said. Yeah, it's it's definitely a rollercoaster of
emotions watching it back just um yeah for obvious reasons but uh it all works out for everybody and
everybody i believe is where they're supposed to be at in life right now and and it's all good
it does you know we we become better people through those tough times and it's impossible to
see sometimes in the moment but then you look back and you're like oh wow that's how the dots
connected you know right exactly and i think everything going on in the world right now it's again
even for us to look at it through a different lens because you're like, yeah, that was really
hard. But, like, also, I'm so grateful for everything. And there's a lot harder things going on
in the world right now than, you know, a couple heartbreaks, you know? Oh, my God. Of course.
Of course. Yeah. Like, it's stressful and stuff, but you're still able to say, like, put this into
perspective. It's still a good thing. I mean, it was still a positive thing for my life. So we are very
grateful don't get us wrong like extremely extremely grateful it's just weird like even so many people
have tweeted me being like why are they doing this to you guys and i'm like it i mean it is weird for
people with their significant others we all just have to kind of laugh about it and and appreciate it
and know that it's just one night you know it's just one night yeah it is and and then you know
next week we'll just really remember the good stuff and that's kind of how it always went exactly
Exactly, exactly.
Let's take a quick break.

motorcycle policies at guyco dot com slash give back okay i've got a little rapid fire uh questions
for you before you go i'm so bad at these but go well it's hard to do rapid fire because i put
you on the spot and then you're like trying to remember and it's it's i'm sorry to put you in
this position but most minus biting my nails what's the most embarrassing moment for you
my season um i would say the aladdin tryouts when i was dancing and i was i was singing my hardest
and the director was whispering to his colleague he's like i really don't think he's making fun of this
i think he just doesn't know what he's doing what i thought you knew i mean you won that date you were we got to be
on Broadway together I some people think I got my Broadway debut on when I did that
Christmas show but it was really with you um for Aladdin it was it was with that was so much fun
like being back in the you know like backstage and in the dressing room and that I thought about
you a lot when I was on act when I was on Broadway doing the Christmas show being backstage and like
being like oh my god cupcake would be so proud of me because you saw how excited I got just being
in the wings of like a musical show yeah it was your like lifelong dream come
true and I get to be there for it so yeah exactly um okay favorite behind the scenes moment favorite
behind the scenes moment um let me think god i know this sounds so dumb but it's just like all of our
conversations that we had that were so real i mean we talked about like your family your dad
see like how much you love your family and that's when i knew that like you had some depth yeah
like um not if you ask Ian they show they show that part on this episode and I was like
I was so composed while he was calling me surface level and like that I had no depth I was like
dude no I just don't like you like that like there is depth to me I just I have been opening up
to other relationships that are past what this is right now I really liked Ian actually
I just hadn't gotten there on the same level that he had.
And so when he started calling me that thing,
I was like so proud of myself or how composed I was.
I was like, wow, if that was me now,
I'd probably throat chop that asshole.
But you need to pay attention to Caitlin's face because you can just see.
Oh.
Oh, it was there.
It was just, but you held it together well.
Yeah, my brain was like, how do I handle this?
I have so many emotions and feelings and things I could say to them,
but I'm just like processing.
Yeah.
It was hard.
Who's the person you speak to most from my season?
I would say that I speak to Sean the most from the season.
But also Jared, love him.
Great, sweet man.
I've kept in touch with, you know, perfect Ben, obviously, on occasion, not so much.
Yeah.
JJ.
Oh, yeah?
He and I room together for two weeks on the season.
Oh, you did?
Yeah.
I didn't know that.
I actually just saw him for the first time
at Ashley and Jared's wedding
and met his fiance
now his wife and we actually
had such a great conversation and I really
liked his wife and
it was funny to just
people grow and evolve as humans
over time and to come back together
after years and like have a nice conversation
when he was like the villain
it was nice
okay coolest opportunity
that came from the show
Um, twofold. Number one, I got to be on The Doctors, which is the show, yeah, where the host actually used to be The Bachelor. And that was like a show that I watched when I was like in undergrad. Yeah. And then second is working with Waterpick because it's helped, you know, as a dentist, like so much of what you do is just you try to teach people what you know. And so they've helped to give me a bigger platform to do that. That's awesome. I love,
I love when people can use their platform for things they're passionate about
and, like, enhance their career and doing something that you love.
I think that's really cool.
And then three words to describe your life post-batchel.
Oh, man.
It's just, like, these three words, I'm such a wordy person.
I can't, I can't break down with three words.
Okay, that's fine.
One word, well.
Okay, one word, one word put for my life post-batchelor, adulting.
I've really tried to like, like I'm starting a business.
I'm trying to get myself to like actually grow up, you know, establish myself, all of that.
I was by comparison to when we filmed, I was still just like no idea what the real world was like, just doing my best to be a dentist.
But now I'm adulting.
I would say gratitude because of the opportunities that have come from that.
I'm so grateful.
I mean, it was just like a random dumb luck thing.
And here I am.
And I get to do more than I thought I could.
Yeah.
And then, um, last word.
I mean, adulting and gratitude are great.
You can just, yeah, we can go from there.
Because I think it's so cool that you have, you know, worked so hard for your career and everything
that you're doing to start your own practice and be, you know, an advocate for a water to pick.
and just everything that you're doing is obviously what you love to do.
And I'm so grateful that you were on my season and that we can still continue to have this
friendship.
And thank you for always being so sweet to me.
Of course, Caitlin.
You've been nothing but kind to me too.
I'm so proud of all you've done.
And can't wait to see what the next five years brings.
Yeah, absolutely.
And I'll let you know when I'm out your way in L.A.
And we can go grab coffee.
Sounds good.
I'm excited.
Okay.
Thanks.
Okay.
Thanks.
Bye, Caitlin.
Thanks.
Bye.
Thank you so much for listening to this episode.
for everybody continuing to support me and everything that's happened in my life to where I am today.
I really appreciate everybody's support and we will see you Thursday for great therapy with Jason.
