Good morning, my dears entrepreneur friends. We are back on the couch for another phone-only recording session.
And today, I want to talk to you about something that some of us are very ashamed by.
And even though this is very completely normal, I just want to come here to normalize that for you,
which is when you are starting a new venture, the results and the numbers are just not quite there yet.
And it doesn't matter if you are a seasoned business owner and you had multiple, multiple business
ventures that you already built from the ground up or you're just starting out.
In both cases, it can happen to you.
I see it all the time.
I see business owners pivot to new branches.
I see business owners, you know, having new ideas they want to build or I see business
owners just jumping into something brand new.
This is all part of the process.
And I think, I do believe that if you have built something before, the second thing that you're going to build, you're going to build it faster.
And because you already have the lessons right behind you.
And you never really start from completely zero because you kind of done something like that before.
So your life is easier.
But if you are someone who is just building something for the first time, either way, this episode is going to be very, very helpful for you in terms of mindset.
that. So I have started to build a new body of work called Human to Human. And this to me is
a work of a lifetime. I have dialed this in and this is the direction that I am heading towards
building. My main business always, I've been helping people grow their business online. I
have them make a lot of money throughout the past six years, working with various different industries
and just seeing what's up with each and seeing where the group.
growth edge is for each of them. Like honestly from from a yoga studio to restaurant to photographers to
coaching businesses like I've really been just gathering some diverse experiences in terms of the type of
businesses I was helping to grow and I had my own business that I've been doing as well but because my
role has been as I help you grow like I had my own ventures but they kind of went to the sidelines
because most of my income and it still is the case are coming from long-term client retainers.
And I can talk forever about how do we maintain and retain clients for over four, five, six years.
But that should be a different topic on its own.
But needless to say, because I have a safety net of helping growing businesses online,
what I also have is a lot of experience in how do I do that for other people.
people, right? So when it came to dialing in a body of work of a lifetime like human to human,
to me, it was already starting from something because I've done webinars, I know how to grow lists,
I know how to sell, I know how to do all those things because I've done that multiple,
multiple times throughout the years. I know how to run ads, right? So to me, the skills of growing
business is in my fingertips, right?
I know how business works operationally online.
I know, you know, CRM systems and automating systems and landing page builders.
This is like podcasting, right?
But when it came to having my own business from the ground,
and this is a brand new concept in which I haven't built an audience for,
I found myself, you know, just seeing in the humble beginnings all over again.
because and to be honest with you the first time I launched this in January the first pillars of
the human-to-human ecosystem it was called the art of the approach and my goal was with the program is to make
just one sale and I hate that actually to my surprise I hate that and I haven't even tried to push it
really hard because in my mind I needed to get the reps in right so to me I'm delivering this
program for the first time yes the principles of Fed I
I have been living, but when you have been living the principles of something and you're trying
to distill that, kind of extract your brain and be like, okay, like, how do I have all of that
experience and distill into something that I can teach to people that they can understand and
deploy and get results from? Well, that's a different question, right? So I didn't make it a huge
goal for myself. I just told myself, I just want to have one sale here in this program. And the
program I priced relatively affordably because I didn't want price to be an issue. To me, it was just
about repetition and getting accustomed to being the one presenting things for people, right?
Not just the one who's advising people on these realms. Even though I have been talking for four or five
years on the podcast, I have been creating videos on YouTube for that long as well. It's a different
why when you are teaching your own program in front of a live audience, right? So,
So the bar was very low and I hid that. And with that also what came as well is I told myself
if I had zero cells, I would still do the program as if I had a thousand of people watching
because to me it was about repetition. It was about showing up for myself. So I was willing to
go either way. I was willing to go either way. And I remember just, you know, my partner is saying
things like and this was so funny when i tried these programs before with not so much of a luck and just
feeling ashamed of my results or how many people actually showed up live and i remember my partner
made this comment because i asked him to can you please leave so i can just be by myself delivering this
program just undisturbed and he said i need to leave because domi is talking to ghosts and it's so funny it was the
funniest thing to me because yes it was true i was talking to ghost because even though people
have bought the program in january none of them really made it live right because to me that was something
that i mean most people they watch this program on replay whenever it suits them and they
comment back to the live recordings but i was essentially putting myself through an audience that
was not actively there as i was delivering which i was okay with honestly
but that comment from my partner was like, this is my life. Yes, I'm talking to nobody. I'm not talking to
live people right now. They might watch it in replay, but that's okay. But even if I was just talking to
myself, which frankly I've been doing, if you are creating YouTube videos essentially and you
record them in a studio, you're talking to yourself. And you imagine that one day people will
listen to this. One day, this will land. And it doesn't matter if it's,
and nobody for now you're talking to yourself. I've been so used to talking to myself. You guys,
it wasn't even something that is a problem for me. In fact, it's easier for me to talk to nobody in a way
and I'm putting myself through those reps than having a lot of people in the audience watching. Maybe
that's something that I need to get still used to. And I have been having a conversation with an
entrepreneur friend about it just the other day. And obviously this guy is very seasoned.
I don't know, 20 plus plus years.
And I remember telling him about this, you know,
thing I'm just starting to put off the ground.
And he asked me my numbers and how much they did they invest.
And I felt like I remember him asking those questions and I threw my phone away.
I'm like, no, I don't have a lot of results.
But like, how do I stay grounded and stay true to myself?
Even though like this, I didn't feel ashamed of.
my results, I kind of felt like maybe to him it's nothing. To him it's like funny or it's like
okay. You know, I was trying to manage his perception for a second. I remember just being okay.
If I share this like, he'll probably give me like, he will laugh at me. He will be like, okay,
okay, that was your number. Okay. So I remember just throwing the phone away. I was like,
okay, I need to. I want to answer this, but I want to answer this to my own rounded way without
exaggeration of falling into performance. So I just said to him this one thing. I said, you know what?
My goal was won and I hit that. And I suppressed that. But if I had zero, I would have done it
anyway because I would have done it for the reps. And he was, he is affirming it. Like, that's exactly
how it is. It means you started. It means. And I'm like, okay, cool, we're fine. And I mean,
anyone who's ever building something understands how it feels on your
or talking to yourself and just being at the face when like it's not really that big,
but you're so here for it that it doesn't really matter like how many who's watching.
Like you're just here for the work.
You're here for the reps.
You know it matters and you're just like there.
That's you're reconnecting with your passion.
And you're just excited because this is something that you now call your life's work.
And it doesn't matter because it matters.
you. And we also talked in the same conversation, guys, and I picked up improv comedy, right? And to me,
improv comedy is about public humiliation and just learning how to express yourself in front of people
and just being okay with just messing it up. And how is it when there's such charm in just being
in a place where people just practice their sets and, you know, they're just getting.
the reps in and really they're just there for each other and they're all trying to get you know their
business off the ground how does it feel when you show up for yourself how does it feel when no one's
fucking watching but you're you're just like so living the work you're just just want to do it for
just the reps and just for doing it and that was the overarching conversation it's just like how does it
feel when you are the only one who is like showing up for yourself when you're betting on yourself
when you're like, you know, it's not quite that big yet, but I'm here for, I'm living it, and this is part of it.
And I want to kind of go back to this as well, because first of all, two things is so true.
I know that entrepreneurs, when they, like, I want to do this, this is something I want to do, and they get all excited.
And when the results are not quite there, when you only have one person buying, when you have
have only one person showing up. Many of them, it takes the wind out of their sales because, like,
while I'm technically talking to no one, you know, they don't care, or they don't get the response
or the outcome they were looking for, like they don't get that money sales. They don't get,
you know, the views that they were looking for. And that can discourage people really, really fast.
Because what you are focusing in the moment is the outcome is like, okay, how many did they buy?
if a lot of people about then i show up right and this is where we can fall into the trap because and this is
something i actively coach my clients on and the reason i'm able to actively coach my clients on this is
because i've been acting living it right i showed up for no one i showed up for zero sales i showed up for
no one live i showed up for myself for for when no one was listening to my podcast right i showed out
when I had one person viewing my video, I showed up when I had no one giving a fuck.
You know, I was living the work even when there was no immediate feedback group, right?
And when just one person got it, I was there.
And many times when we forget that, that's where we need to recalibrate, right?
And that's the message I have for you today is where have you been slipping in terms of you being so outcome-focused,
that you forgot that this whole journey was about your mindset.
And if you had only one person showing up and maybe one or two buying it,
can you show up for them and just be giving your best to them?
Knowing that, you know what, if I can show up for one person, if I can,
here's the food chain.
Can you show up for yourself?
Yes, no, and can you do that repeatedly?
Even when no one is watching.
and can you do that for years?
That's the one.
That's where most people, they're just like, nope, I can do that.
I'm out of here.
Then you failed the first assignment, which is how can I show up for myself?
Second time, can I show up for just a couple of people?
Yes or no?
Because if you can show up for just a couple of people, then chances are you can show up for a
thousands of people, right? And so if you are the type of person who is like, well, yeah,
but if only a couple of people comes and no one is watching, well, suddenly my self-leadership
is wobbly, right? Because no one is here. No one cares. Like, why am I even doing this, right?
If you, or if you say, you know what, only a couple of people showed up, let me give them a great
time let me make sure that I blow their minds I blow their socks up let me get some reps let me get
some feedback that's okay that's the other mindset okay and the third is can you show up when the results
fluctuate right so maybe you have a hit the thousands of people and you have a thousand of people
buying a program showing up live they are there with you but suddenly they go to 10 or 1 now what
Can you keep going?
Like you used to have a thousand and now you have ten.
Yes or no?
Because these are the tests we fail, right?
Because you might think, well, you know, I have one that's okay.
I'm here for the reps.
But two years later you have a thousand and like, yes, this is working.
I'm here for it.
And then it goes back to ten with a different offer, with something else.
And you go, whoa, there's something wrong here.
I need to change.
I need to stop.
I need to, you know.
Does that make sense?
Like, the question isn't like, can I show up when it's going well?
Can I show up when there are results?
The question is, can I show up no matter what?
The question really is, can I show up no matter what?
Because everything else you can reframe, right?
Technically, you can reframe a situation when it's not what you expect.
And that's where we forge ourselves in fire, right?
Right? Because what all you need to think is, I think this matters. That's it. Like, you don't need
anyone else to think it matters. Only you. I think this matters. So I'm going to do it. I think this
matters. So I'm going to say it. I think this matters. So I'm going to launch it. I think this
matters. So I'm going to stay with it. I think this matters. I think this matters. And if you
don't have feedback, I think this matters. That's the feedback. I think.
that self-validation, that self-trust.
Because if you have that, honestly, and yes, can be times when you were like,
why am I even doing this?
No one is coming.
Oh, I used to have sales now that you're dipped.
You know, like, guys, the past two years, if you have been coaching and consulting,
there is a dip.
There is a dip in all industries, you know, economy.
It's getting harder.
You know, and it's easy to get discouraged.
especially if you forgot why you started the first place, right?
You might go like I thought this is going to be it and it's not working, I'm out.
So how long can you stay with uncertainty?
How long can you stay with no results?
How long can you speak to goals like my partner would say?
Because all you need to do is be like, I think this matters and that's it.
That to me is enough.
I think this matters. I think this needs to be said. Whether or not you agree with me right now,
or five years later or ten years later. Do you not see that? Do you not see that how people,
all of us started from zero? And the second time, yes, we had more experience when we are
starting something from the ground, but with that experience, we get smarter so the next time
it will be faster. But if it's not that, it's not faster.
let's assume it's not you had experience the second time a third time and it's not as fast like
what's then are you going to quit or are you going to reaffirm yourself like i thought this mattered
and i still think this matters so i'm going to keep going because i think this matters that's what
it comes down to ultimately and many of us we think like unless i have the motivation i'm going to keep
doing is. If I don't have to drive, there must be something wrong. I have to do something else.
I have to pivot into something else. There's a difference between, is this your growth and evolution?
Your next step into growing into yourself more? Or is this something you just like, oh, I want
results. They weren't coming as fast as I wanted. Therefore, it doesn't matter. Therefore, I'm out of here.
The leaders who can show up when no one is watching are the winner.
because when we can show up when no one is watching, you know what we have, we have
conviction in our self and we have self-leadership that is unbeatable.
Because the drive is internal, is internally the source, it's I'm okay no matter what.
And for that, you would have to show up for people who weren't there.
Because all you had is you and you thought that this mattered.
Okay?
So that's the message I have for you today.
That's the message I'm reminded of and in the innocence of being at the beginning of something and just being there.
And seeing it through and remembering all of that.
Like I thought this was great.
I still think it's great.
Like self-leadership is locked and loaded and also you adapt to what is.
You can reframe any situation and be like, you know what?
I'm here for the reps.
this time what a gift and i had that as well like i had my second module of empathy as we know it i just
got done delivering this program guys the technical glitches i had to face with that second module
i had to re-record that module three times i recorded module one twice module two
three times guys because there's some glitch happening
the camera didn't pick up right the audio didn't quite work and then like i had to do it three times
you guys until i really really nailed it and i'm like yeah i know exactly that and the third
module guys it was first time nailed it right i was very proud of it so you could argue that
in circumstances that are not always favorable to you what do you do is you free frame your minds on
Okay, a good thing. Good thing, you know, I'm here and I can do this over and over again.
I had a guest cancel. I booked a studio in London. This is the last example. I had this guest coming. I booked her. I paid for the studio.
And one day before she says, I can't come. My dad is in a hospital. Well, guess what? I showed up myself in the studio.
I had my mom coming with me because she was there in London.
when I was visiting my sister.
And you know what she said?
She said,
I've never seen this side of you.
And also, she took some pictures in me in studio mid-creation,
some video footage of me talking.
To nobody, I didn't have a guest.
But by then, I've been talking to myself for five years, you guys.
Like, it's perfect.
It was perfect.
So I was like, you know what?
There were topics I always wanted to cover.
like this is going to be great for Instagram.
Like, refr, reframe, reframe, pivot, pivot, pivot.
Move it, what do you have?
Maximize the opportunity.
I didn't go like, oh my God, I have no gas like what, you know, like I might as well not show up.
So if this is something you need to hear, this is your permission to keep going no matter one.
And that's all I have for you guys.
My next pillar inside of a human-to-human ecosystem is going to be about self-expression.
it's about how do we come fully expressed how do we overcome that perception management that
what if they think of me like how do we stay grounded in our expression how do we play and have fun
and let that be seen that is our next one guys if you're listening to this one and you think you
know what i already feel like self-expression and fully expressed is going to be something i would want to do
I don't know the details yet
I don't know the pricing yet
but this already speaks to me
I want to be full expressed
I just want to be real not just bullshitting
not being a performing
and just I want to do all of that
then
via me
and I'm already beyond excited to be
teaching this one for you
thank you so much for listening to this one
actually
I'm not going to say I hope this was helpful
what I'm going to say is I think this was so important for me to learn and if this landed with you,
I'm so glad. I'm so thankful and thank you so much for listening. See you guys.
