Starting point is 00:00:00 There's literally a random cat guys just walking around the lorris's house. She has no, she got it at the Home Depot. She got it at the Home Depot. All right, everyone. Welcome to another episode of on display with Melissa Gorga. I think you guys are going to love this one. You've all been asking me for her. You're like, where's Dolo? Where's Dolo? Well, I finally have her. She's a kick ass Jersey mama who always puts her children first and her biggest muscle is her heart. Ladies and gentlemen, to Laura's Catania. So cute, Melissa Gorka. Thank you. You're welcome.
Starting point is 00:00:49 I do always say you have a big heart, especially coming off this beautiful episode with the charity baseball game and everything. One thing, I don't know if people know about you, you are very, very charitable. You really are. Thanks. It's something I like to do. I kind of enjoy it.
Starting point is 00:01:07 I know not growing up with a lot, you know, every little bit helps. Sometimes you need the help of a stranger, even if it's just a smile or a hello or just whatever you can do. So I kind of like to do that. It's fun. Well, how are you? How is everything? I'm good. I'm back at Cassin Lane today, you know, in North Hill, then I call Cassin
Starting point is 00:01:29 Lane, my house where the kids are, right? So I come looking for them. And I try to tag them down when they're off for work. And I because I don't get to see them much, Melissa, you know, like, you know, how close I am. I was with them
Starting point is 00:01:42 always growing up. And now that they're both working so much, I hardly ever see them. No, I know. And it's so funny because I saw someone say something like, which house is Delores in this year? Because I know. I never moved in David's house. Melissa, you never did, right? You never did. That was Frank who moved into David's house. You never did Frank moved into David's house. I wonder if Frank's using the closet that I had built that I had built.
Starting point is 00:02:09 All your clothes are out of there. I'm assuming you filled that thing up. Yeah, you're done there. Yeah, long out of there. And I read it this house. I had my beautiful townhouse. Oh, I forget that people are like, I'm like, why are people asking me what a house I'm in? But I didn't realize that I had built that house and then I moved into a townhouse because I was redoing this house. So, and then they saw it now they're seeing you in Paulie's house. So, because every time you pop up, it's like, where's the Laura's today? you pop up it's like where's the Laura's today? Record Melissa. I was in the same spot for 25 years. So I would
Starting point is 00:02:50 say in the last three years I've moved a lifetime. Right. Well, listen, you know, I'm a mover too. I love to move. That's all you forget it. Look at all about it one day in and out. Could you do you remember that? Oh my God. Remember, that's a story like what the hell happened?
Starting point is 00:03:08 I don't know if a lot of people even know that that story because there was a no. There was a couple moves, but that one we literally moved in and moved out the same day of a rental house because someone was supposed to sign a contract. We thought they were going to sign it. They never signed it. And Joe was like, put this stuff back in the truck and drive back to the house.
Starting point is 00:03:31 Wasn't that crazy? That was, I forgot about that. That's insanity. It was that about the things in life that we forget about that happened that like I get, sometimes I guess it's traumatic and you want to block it out because I know that was a rough one for you. Oh my god, I was so annoyed. I was like so I didn't even take the stuff out of the box. I was just like you know what, Joe, forget it. Put the ship back in and let's go.
Starting point is 00:03:54 I don't even want to hear it. It was. It wasn't an apartment move. It was a huge house move. It was furniture. It was everything. It was all like a, kids, toys, dishes, packed up, moved into a house. The same day moved back out. It was her rent. I also signed them up in a different school district and signed them up for football on the other football team,
Starting point is 00:04:19 the other cheering team. It was, all right, whatever. We're way past that now. Thank God we're in the house. Anyway, I want to talk about your family for a second. How's Gabby doing? She's a vet. By the way, she just saw all my listeners can know. My little Nico got very sick recently and Gabby came right to my house, picked him up, took him, took care of him. She brings him food. She brought him diapers. She's the absolute best, by the way. It's a badass. Like, I mean, I raised her to be tough,
Starting point is 00:04:52 but she surpasses me. She just gets on a plane and goes to Africa and works on rhinos. And doesn't tell me she's going, I'm like, I don't want you to go. I find out she's going and I'm like, I'm like, no, no, no, you can't do that. And she's like, yeah, I can and I will.
Starting point is 00:05:06 And then she does and she goes for two weeks a year. She got up and went to another country to study to be a bat. And she's just, she's so tough. And right now, I found a cat in my room that she hid in my closet when she first came around. And I come back and, and you know I have this beautiful my marble in my my bathroom and my floors are redone and everything and there's a cat sitting over there by the window come here pickles oh you have a random cat in your bedroom random she found
Starting point is 00:05:40 that home depot I'm like come on go like serious she found this home depot. I'm like, come on. No, like seriously. She found this cat at home depot? Delores, you don't even live here. Don't worry about it. On a belief. The cat doesn't need the master bedroom. Okay. Is it a nice cat? Is it a nice cat? I think so. I have you touched it. Yeah. I've not brought her hat at cat before. It's like, I'm looking at it. It's like a rose gold color. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:06:08 Yeah, like it's kind of nice. It's been friendly to me. Come here. I don't know what to do with it. But anyway, so that is so funny. I can't I can't handle it. There's literally a random cat guys just walking around the lorris house. just walking around the lor she has no, she got it at the home depot. She got it I mean, I mean, you hear so, you know what Melissa? I don't even know if I can anymore. Like I may have t out of Pauli's, but I don't
Starting point is 00:06:41 have Pauli's swank place. I always wanted to live you've been there. You know, I have swank place. It's an edge water. I always wanted to live there. It's beautiful. You've been there. You'll see it on the show. People have seen it on the show. But, you know, I enjoy it there. It's gorgeous. First of all, you will see Paulie's house soon on the
Starting point is 00:06:58 show. Have they shown it yet? I'm trying to think a little bit. Yeah. Not the full thing. Guys, this is like the most masculine masterpiece. I have to say it's decorating. It really is. It's decorated so like masculine but classy inside like for a single guy who was living there. It really, really is beautiful. He has great taste. So Melissa, think about like going on a first date with a guy. And was it the first date that he brought me back to his house? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Anyway, I wasn't again in stay, but so we go out to dinner and he orders this amazing bottle of wine, like crazy. And then he show, he showy like that your first date. Did he want to like showy like that with my first date? Yeah. And then we go back to his house to hang out and I walk in his house and I'm like, oh my God,
Starting point is 00:07:48 I don't even know how to act right now. It's like music play like black coffee, that DJ black coffee. Why I had no idea who was. So he's black coffee's playing. And he opens up this beautiful crystal from his Rolls Royce in the cabinet. And it's pouring all like all this wine.
Starting point is 00:08:06 I'm like, oh my God, am I, I cannot handle this. I'm like, I wish accent. This is, I wish accent. You're like, where am I? How smells like his cologne because he hasn't going through the vents. It's a special made fragrance that he had for this. And I'm like, oh, get me out of here.
Starting point is 00:08:24 I'm not going to be able to handle this. Get me out. I'm in trouble. I'm in trouble. I just, I have a lot of questions about you and Paulie. So I might as well just ask you about them right now, because I did go to your questions. I'm almost scared of them. Don't be scared. They're good questions. Because here's my thing. I think he has. You have good questions. You do.
Starting point is 00:08:42 All right. Well, here we go. I think he has good style. Right? I think here's my thing. I think he has style. Good questions. You do. All right. Well, here we go. I think he has good style. Right. I think he has like easy has taste. So my question is, first of all, I want to know, is he picky with the way you dress? Like how is he? Does he want to pick. I do it. You're like, I know this guy. Yeah. Do you get dressed and does he say, I'm not crazy about that.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Put something else on my arm. Yeah, I'm like, I don't dress like that, but he likes more conservative. He does. He likes. He doesn't like Gary trendy. He likes, you know, classic, but like I almost don't know how to dress anymore like from my sense of how to hear this cat. And I, it's just like I'm not used to this, right? You're not used to that. Little sunglasses and he's like. And yeah, you're a big sundress girl. You love a good
Starting point is 00:09:45 sundress. If I ever see a good sundress, I say, Oh, this is so delirious or even at envy. I know, like, Dolores, I get them from your store. Yeah. I'm like, she's going to love this sundress. But I knew I had a feeling that he was picky with
Starting point is 00:09:58 how you dress. And I've never asked you that question. But I know he has tastes. I know he's picky about the way he dresses, right? He hates hair extensions. He hates them. He's very similar. Who, who, he's kind of like the man that I would be in your life. That imaginary man that I want to be for you. I people don't realize how masculine you can be
Starting point is 00:10:26 because you're just pretty, and you're little and dainty, and then you can like grab and ask like nobody's business. Especially when I'm sipping a cocktail, but I agree. So I like when your hair's shorter, I like when you're sophisticated, I feel like you look like a badass. I am on TV. And the other you can give me for for Paulie, like if you were Paulie, what else should I be doing? No, you need to stick to you. You need to stick to you. If that's
Starting point is 00:10:56 what you love, if you love the sunglasses, you need to keep the sunglasses in the long hair Dolores, because we love you like that too. You know what I do? I realize that my age relationships are a compromised Melissa and I compromise. Sometimes I leave them out for a bit and then sometimes I'll go back to it when I'm ready. Which is good. You got to switch it up a little bit. Going back to Paulie. Tell me who you think. So compare him. So who is he the most similar to from the house husband's on
Starting point is 00:11:27 Jersey? Like, who would you say he's the most similar to? In the way like how he likes things, probably your husband, probably Joe. Yeah, I can see that just because he's more regimented and he wants a lot of your time, right? He wants to around like he likes things a certain way. He has an idea of exactly how he wants the relationship to be. And there's not a lot of deviation from that. Right.
Starting point is 00:11:56 There's not a lot of movement from what he believes is right. No, no, there is not. It's a very stubborn feed in the sand. This is how I like things. This is how I want to. I don't mind that. I've thought for myself for so long, not that he thinks for me because at the end of the day,
Starting point is 00:12:13 I have always been my own person and I always will be. But I don't mind somebody giving some direction a little bit. Like I'm good. You like things this way? That's kind of sexy to me. OK. Yeah, you know why? Because you didn't have someone bossing you around for so long. direction a little bit like I'm good. You like this this way that's kind of sexy to me. Okay. Yeah, you know why because you didn't have someone bossing you around for so long and not to say bossing you around, but you know what I mean like we so have to watch our words now like we do because they'll twist that and say yes and bossing right like hold on I take that back. Not both. Everybody. I'm down. I'm down.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Sit down. Karen. Sit down. Correct. Correct. Nobody bosses me around. At the end of the day, I am the biggest boss. And that's how I am.
Starting point is 00:12:54 Even my father will tell you, nobody was ever able to tell you what to do. Right. But I kind of like taking a break from thinking a little bit. He's like, oh, don't forget you have Melissa's podcast today. I love that. I do too. He's a planner. Yeah, he is. But that frustrates him about me that I'm not. What would you say is your biggest pet peeve with Polly? What drives you the most crazy? What drives you the most crazy? Let me think. He could be very stubborn sometimes and it's very hard.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Like it's hard to sway him from how he thinks about something. Got it. Well, that's from what you just said. I can imagine you were going to say stubbornness actually. He's stubborn, but that's also comes. I think with Irish people I've met so far. And I am hard Irish. I can tell you they have a little stubbornness. I thought the Italians were stubborn. I see a lot of stubbornness in the Irish. Like these really. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Do you see a big difference between like having a relationship with an Italian opposed to having a relationship with an true Irishman? Like, is there, what are the big differences?
Starting point is 00:14:08 I don't see a big difference. Not much, right? Not much now. Barry into his mom. He loves his mom. All the Italian men, I know love their mom. Like, oh my God, my mom, he's crazy for his mother, his family. It's very close with his family. And, um, you know, he, like I said, there's a lot of respect involved in what he thinks about things and respect is a big issue, trust is a huge issue. I see him on Instagram with his family. He's great with his mother.
Starting point is 00:14:37 I see him with his mother. And I personally got to meet his mother and his sister when we went to Ireland and everyone's gonna say, oh, that's right, that, yes. So sweet, so high. everyone's going to say that. That's right. Yes. So sweet. So high. How much fun did we have Melissa?
Starting point is 00:14:50 Oh my God. It's honestly, it's magical. And I am not, you know, afraid to admit that it is you here. I'm not coming back to the town. There's no. No, I'm telling you, I'm not afraid to admit that at first I was like, Ireland, what are you doing? Ireland.
Starting point is 00:15:04 And then when we got there, it was honestly magical. It was so beautiful. The right thing we did. Everything felt so authentic. It was one of the best trips I want to say. I mean now knowing what happened as we'll see. I don't know. But for me personally for housewives, I enjoyed that trip. It's one of my top three trips on all the 13 years I've been on house. Wow. Really? Yes. I loved it. I really loved it there. I loved it so much. And Paulie had such a big influence. He set us all up and he set up our castles and so much more that we are. Makeup. Yeah. We did that. Yeah. He was awesome. So wrapping up Paulie, tell me this,
Starting point is 00:15:45 what is the biggest thing that you two actually have in common? What did you guys say? Like, wow, we are so similar. Oh, I'd have to say what we both want in a relationship. That is the biggest similarity that we have. Our thoughts on what we want things to be like. Okay, I think that makes sense. And let me just tell you, that's what works the best. Because if you both will have the same family morals or, you know, your values
Starting point is 00:16:15 or what you want out of a relationship, I think that's when it's going to work the best. I personally, I love seeing you two together. I love it. Cause I just, first of all, I love seeing you with a man by your side. It's like every time I see Dolores, now I see Paulie. So I've ever seen that. Now you remember, as long as we have known each other, how many years are you and Joe together now? Me and Joe are 18 years. Is it 18 years in August? It'll be 18 years. 18 years. You have seen me through so much,
Starting point is 00:16:47 even if it was just walking in the mall and you had your little babies in a carriage, I was alone, always, right? Always, always to Laura's flies solo, solo dolo. That's what I'm gonna call you. She's no longer solo dole. Okay, everybody. You And I like that. I want that for you. Listen, just turn 50. Not like it's time for that. It's like, you got to live, girlfriend. You got to, you know, do what you want when you want. I didn't
Starting point is 00:17:18 know when I had to. I didn't answer to anyone. Even, I wasn't married that long. I don't think people realize that. I was married for only about four years. That's it. Your whole life. That's not a long time. And I'm divorced for 25, 24 years. Right. And you never got remarried. A lot of people don't realize that.
Starting point is 00:17:47 No. Which I would find you as a gem, like for the divorcees in the world, right? Like, for the men, the big wow, this woman never remarried. Like you never found someone that you connected enough with, probably until now, that you wanted to actually marry. Well, the truth is I never, my kids were younger and I felt that and I felt this, that I put so much, I wanted to put so much into them. It wouldn't have been fair to somebody that I was married. And I wanted after my divorce, I took so bad, I was not interested in really getting married again.
Starting point is 00:18:27 I just wasn't just it was just. It took so much out of me that I just wanted. I'm like, I'm okay. I don't want to go back to go through that again. Bad forbid. So I'm good. But it's years now when, you know, time passes and you're like, well, okay, let me consider it when you meet somebody that you want to be that way with right well I think it doesn't happen Melissa it may not have I mean I'm not saying
Starting point is 00:18:50 that's my goal that's not my goal I'm dropping my guard I'm being a little more vulnerable but and you're not against it no I'm not against it and anybody who I don't care if someone got divorced and got remarried five times God bless bless you if you wanna do that. It just wasn't for me. Right. Well, you know, I can't talk to you without talking about the heart throb on our show because everyone loves Little Frankie.
Starting point is 00:19:17 So I need to catch all my listeners up on Little Frankie. How is he dating someone? One of the questions everybody wants to know is does little Frankie have a girlfriend? He does not. Oh, he's single. Oh, listen, boy. He does not.
Starting point is 00:19:34 And he works a lot, though. And there would have to be a certain girl that would be able to handle that. But you handle that when you were just a young girl, you knew you had want, you know, there was a lifestyle and there was things and there was, you know, you married somebody who was a worker. And you were willing to say, without that, I don't have this and what I signed up for. You have to sacrifice. I sacrificed a lot when I first got married. I know you know that. Yeah, I spent many days alone. A lot of time alone.
Starting point is 00:20:13 Yes. Joe left the house 5 30 every morning. Sometimes he wouldn't come home till 9 30 at night. Literally on a construction site because you know, I got married very young. I was 25. So we were still in our years building our lives and doing all this. And he would work all day and forget it to lures. If it snowed, oh my God, he used to take snow plowing accounts. Two day straight. He would be in that truck for two day straight snow plowing. And I used to get annoyed.
Starting point is 00:20:41 I would bring his phone. I'm like, where are you? Like, why aren't you? Are you with a girl? Like, why are you sleeping out? Of course. Well, that's what we thought back then. You know what, Melissa?
Starting point is 00:20:50 I don't think girls think that way that much anymore. Not like, no. I think I think old school Dolores were old school because these girls are so confident these days. They let their man go anywhere. But who anything? I'm like, what is happening? Girls, good for you. because I struggled with you with that
Starting point is 00:21:07 Melissa. Remember I struggled with you. I'm like, you can't always think that way. You're it's not just enjoy yourself, like just don't think that way. No, but I'm saying the girls now I'm trying to lose. I'm trying, but the girls now are so they're just easy. If this whole generation is a lot easier on their men, they do allow them to really are. They do.
Starting point is 00:21:29 Like, is cheating less prevalent now because of social media and cell phones and stuff like that? Like, you're gonna get caught. So maybe not as many people are quick to do it. I don't know. Or if it's just the confidence, I'm not sure. I am going to say that that's a great point. I feel like with social media, with tracking, with fine my iPhone, with the cell phones that we can just face time you at any time and you
Starting point is 00:21:55 got to answer or you're dead meat, right? It's like, you can't cheat easily like they could back in the day. Like for instance, if my father decided to go take a ride, there was no cell phone, maybe a beeper, like you can't find them until I come back, you know. They were using a phone booth to call whoever they were calling. Exactly. They have to drive to the phone booth to like call their Gumad. They were calling their Gumad from the phone booth and saying me at the hotel. Yeah, at the motel, the parking lot, a lot of parking lot going on back then. Oh, parking lot.
Starting point is 00:22:33 They were meeting in the parking lot. All right. Yeah. You know what? I guess what their wives could not FaceTime them, could not track them, could not call them. And that's it. You just wait for them to get home. So let's just give a positive to social media
Starting point is 00:22:48 because it did help. Get your way shit. That is the only positive I'm gonna give to these iPhones and social media. How about pictures now? Right, now there's a picture on every corner. Your car. And I see one of my girlfriends man out.
Starting point is 00:23:05 My girlfriend's getting a picture before he sees me. That's what girl talk girls girl. I am a girls girl. Same. If I know and somebody you're with comes into a place, I don't care if he walks in alone. I don't care if he walks in with 10 guys. You're getting the picture of your man being there
Starting point is 00:23:24 because you're my friend and I got your back. I love it. That's my kind of girl. You know me, Zalors, I love it. And you know me, I'm an investigator and so are you. We will find out anything. Don't try to cheat on us because we're gonna get you. I, Buds, I mean, I don't know how many people know this.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Probably not a lot because we don't talk about it that much. You know, I know how to bug a car. I know how to bug an off. I can I will trace anybody. I never tell you who my friends are so that when I find something out, people are going to tell me, so it gets back. I'm telling you. I know you're like that and I love it about you.
Starting point is 00:24:03 I love it about you. You're like a little PI or like a detective and I'm the same. I find out everything I see everything. Let me ask you this with Paul. I never asked you this because this would be serious. Do you have each other's password for Instagram like with DMs and stuff like that? Do you guys see each other's DMs or no? No. So the password no, it's not like this is hooked up to my, but we have full access to each other. Right. If you wanted to see it. Right. If I'll just hand them my phone and go, yeah, I am so clean. I am so not worried about a thing and it feels so good just to hand the phone over
Starting point is 00:24:51 and be like, here, and you know what, he has no problem. I have never been with anybody who is, who is, I could trust like Paul Connell. He's not a, he's not a screw around, he's not a freak. I don't know who got to him before me. He he don't even look. He don't do not let that I know up like he don't
Starting point is 00:25:10 even kid around like that. Wow. I love it. That's that's perfect. Isn't that how you want him to be? I mean, it's okay Paul. You could tell me it goes pretty. It's okay. You know, but he's not even not he's not that guy. No, and even if like one of my girlfriends are in a room with him by himself, he's like, where's the lores? I think she went upstairs. You can go upstairs. Oh, yeah. Oh, I love it. I love it. Look at this. You don't even have to use any of your skills on this guy. What the hell? They're all going to waste. Oh, you're good skills. All your good skills. I know right. All right. So I had a couple questions, okay, from fans, really fun questions that I thought were great because I told the fans that you're coming
Starting point is 00:25:53 on. So let me start with a couple of the questions from the fans. People wanted to know how the two of us met and they wanted to hear. I thought that was such a good question because a lot of people don't realize how long we've known each other how we met. Maybe we can tell the moral story. I think that's funny. It's such a long time ago, right? Oh yeah, but we knew each other before then because of course we sat in talk. But I know you from Teresa because I know them so long. I would have to know you if your her sister want to know her so well, right? So back when, who were you pushing in the carriage? Was it Antonia?
Starting point is 00:26:32 It had to be Antonia, yeah, because I feel like I met you the second I met Joe. It was like, I don't know, we probably were at that one of the kids parties or the birthday or something. And I instantly met you. And Joe basically, you're basically like a cousin kind of to them because you've been around for so long, you know, I feel like a kind of like a cousin.
Starting point is 00:26:52 So that's how we met. We met through Joe because you were with him. And that's how, yeah, that's how we met. So it's been a long time. Yep. And I remember being, this is when she said she was always alone, right? I was in the mall once, just shopping along with Antonia. And I remember bumping into the mall. How? Oh my God. Darro pizza.
Starting point is 00:27:13 Yes. Was that eating pizza? That's your favorite meal. See, we're close enough that you happen to know that. Yes. Yes. I know where we were right by Nordstrom. I feel like that.
Starting point is 00:27:24 You always ask me. Do they ask you what you eat? Do you're, because I'm going to tell you what people ask me because because you're brought to you. Oh, we're going to have a whole situation on this next because all everybody wants to know is what I eat and what you eat and diet and exercise. And we're going to talk about that. Yes, don't ask what I eat. You can ask when Melissa Gorge eats, but I always get that they're like, oh, she probably doesn't eat anything. I go, there is no one hangrier than Melissa Gorgia. She gets nasty. Like I've never seen, I've seen you mad,
Starting point is 00:27:56 but I've probably seen you very close to the most being mad when you're hungry. Like I, when production doesn't feed me, and it's been a minute, and they're like holding out or we've been on a plane or we're traveling on some bus somewhere, I lose my shit. Like I'm hungry, I get very hungry. And I eat, but I do eat guys, but I do eat small portions.
Starting point is 00:28:20 So people always want to know about like the diet and the exercise and all of this. I do, would you say that I eat small portions? Yes, I would. You never finish your hamburger. I've seen you eat your hamburger. Like I'm picturing a moment. Remember back we were in the spa. What was it? What was that spa that we went to years ago, like seven years ago? It was a water park kind of.
Starting point is 00:28:47 And I remember, because I was so hungry, I was going to eat your hamburger. You didn't eat the whole thing, but you, you'll order everything and eat a little bit of each thing. You don't finish it. Sometimes you do, but, but you don't need a lot at one time. No, I don't, but I like to eat frequently. Is that fair to say I eat frequently? I say and you have good genetics and you work out every day for an hour. You need your hour to yourself. That's what you do.
Starting point is 00:29:17 For sure. You work out hard. It's my meditation just for obviously what I do for a living, right? And also just for, you know, the fact that it does clear me. I need that minute to put down the phone, to put down social media, to work on myself. And I have to say when I, when I'm not working out as much or if I take a week off or something, I'm mentally not as happy as I am if I'm, if I worked out for an hour, I really just feel different.
Starting point is 00:29:45 So I enjoy it. I hate working out like poison. I'd rather drink poison or really just take a diet pill if I could find one. No, but I have I used to consistently work out a lot for years and then I stopped for whatever reason. I think, you know, when you get involved with somebody like years ago, I got involved with someone that didn't like to work out.
Starting point is 00:30:10 So then you just get like fat and sloppy and you let yourself go. When you conform to the person you're with, which is bad. But I think- Because if they're eating habits are bad, then you're eating habits become just like theirs or sometimes whoever the healthier one is, you kind of want to lean into whatever
Starting point is 00:30:28 you're doing, right? Because how are Paul eating habits? How is he? He's good. Paul watches what he's Paul works out. But we used to, when we first started dating, we were going out a lot and we were drinking a lot. And as you know, I'm not a drinker.
Starting point is 00:30:44 You're really not. So, but Paul and I had a good time drinking whiskey. Like, yeah. Is that your drink now? You're a whiskey girl? Like, I'm a whiskey girl. Yeah, so we had some fun with that. But yeah, Paul, like, Paul will have like grilled chicken
Starting point is 00:31:01 for lunch or something and we don't really eat it heavy. No. What are you into any like are you dieting at all right now? Are you into any trends like are you have you I know you've always dieted right? You've always like yeah I feel like you've tried myself so I have a thyroid issue so I can gain five pounds from eating nothing I can gain ten pounds a month if my thyroid's off. I can be very tired. I get, like, my head is cloudy and it's very hard to find a good thyroid doctor. So I've been on an off-battling back for, like, the past ten years. So am I doing, like, that trend?
Starting point is 00:31:43 I'm not going to, like, like I did if you want to talk about I'll tell you I'm on my journal right now. It's like the ozampic thing. I'm doing it. I'll tell you I do. Oh, okay. Is that the other is that another version of it? Explain to me what that is. The version of it. Okay. It's it's not ozampic is for I believe it's for diabetes, but I've always been on it because I have a problem breaking down whatever it is my carbs. I don't even know how they say insulin, right? So I was on it before everybody I had done it. Oh, okay. Are you noticing a big difference from it? Like are you feeling anything different? So I stopped taking it for a while. My insurance wouldn't cover it's very expensive. And now I'm back on it. And it does make a difference. You aren't
Starting point is 00:32:30 hungry on it. You're not. You're just not. So if you had you want to eat less, is that what you think it does? It makes you eat less. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Definitely. Is it turn you like your totally curbs your appetite? So you still want to remind yourself to eat. No, you don't really want to. You have to remind yourself. And it takes time. You start with a low dosage. You definitely need to see a doctor that's prescribing it right. And you just don't take it yourself. You can't get it yourself. Well, honestly, I'm glad you're being open and honest about it. I feel like I've talked to so many other guests about it. And I think it's better to just be honest about it.
Starting point is 00:33:08 And if you're someone, it's prescribed from a doctor. And if it's worth it, I want you to do a chronologist. She prescribed it for me. I was gaining weight. I couldn't lose it. I needed a kick start. And I've lost 10 pounds like 12 pounds and so you just probably all booty now. I'm all booty. But I'm working out I'm not eating junk
Starting point is 00:33:36 and this is just something that I'm not against I've researched it and I didn't see really anything wrong with it. Well good for you you. You know what? You don't want to do anything with diet. It should be a lifestyle like you. You eat a little bit at a time. You work out every day. I do believe in that. I always say and for everyone who asked me, I always say it's a lifestyle. For me, it's never about a fad. It's never about like, what are we going to do this week? We're going to start Monday. For me, it's a lifestyle. And that's what works for me. So for everyone out there that asks, it's to me,
Starting point is 00:34:08 it's just a constant, daily part of life. Do I eat pasta? Sure I do. Do I have a piece of cake? Yes. But I'll share the cake, right, Dolores? So if we have dessert at dinner, I'll just take a couple bites of the cake.
Starting point is 00:34:21 I won't eat the whole slice of cake. Does that make sense? It does. And I have an issue with portion controls. So this kind of help has helped me get back to eating normal. I had gone into a very bad habit of eating too much at one time. And it made me hungrier all the time the way I was eating eating bad food is poison, food is poison.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Anyone can change their health, they could get off medication if they change their diet and do it right. Agreed. Have to be patient. It takes a lot of time, it takes discipline, but you can do it. I don't suggest, I'm not telling anyone to do what I'm doing. I'm doing it because I want quicker results faster. And I'm just, it's not the great way to go, but it's, I'm not going to lie about what I'm doing, you know. Yeah, listen, you've always been open and honest. You've also been open and honest, always about whatever plastic surgery you've had and anything that you've got done. I feel like
Starting point is 00:35:19 you've always been very open with everything, right? And not afraid to share what you've done and share your doctors with people and contribute, which I think people really do appreciate that from you because, you know, people want advice before they do these things. And I feel like you're one person that doesn't hide it. And you'll talk to anybody about what you've done. Right. And I might get some flack for that Paul would say why why do why do you always tell people your business he's like keep it tight Dolores keep it tight what are you doing and I'm like well I worked really hard to find the right doctors so I want to share that with people I've had good results from that I want to share that with people I I'm not going to just show up
Starting point is 00:36:05 pretty soon. You know, we're going to have the reunion soon. And I'm not going to just show up maybe being thinner than I was last season and say, oh, I just, you know, I've just been eating right like that. Yeah, it's the gym. Yeah, the gym. And I was at the gym this morning. I have a trip. I believe that. I believe you. It's a week. Well, let me ask you this. What was your favorite out of whatever plastic surgeries you've had done? Which one do you think really changed you the most and was the most worth it that you were like,
Starting point is 00:36:32 I loved this one. I needed this. I that you really, really loved them all. Love all you. So there's two of the tops. My face, number one. That. You felt a major difference.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Dr. Carolac gave me my confidence. He one, that you felt a major difference. Dr. Carolac gave me my confidence. He did it right. I didn't look like, because your mom, I mean, your family loves him. You've met him. You all love him. They're amazing people amazing. He's the nicest man. He's so humble and he's an amazing surgeon, because you know, I'm a surgical assistant, right? That's how I know. Well, yeah, for that's how I know it. Yes. Well, yeah, for people who don't know she was a surgical assistant, you were also, you worked
Starting point is 00:37:08 at the prison. Yeah. Right. Yeah. So I'm grounded. You're well. I'm not young. I'm 50.
Starting point is 00:37:16 I'm going to be 53 in December. So are you? I feel like you just turned 50. Oh, I don't know why. And I feel like you just turned 40. I know. I do too. This is what happens in life. It just flies. Okay. So I feel like you just turned 40. I know. I do too. This is what happens in life.
Starting point is 00:37:25 It just flies. OK, so the face, you're saying face. Face and my stomach. I have a really nice stomach. I do. You do. You have a beautiful stomach. And you're rocking all your happy shirts.
Starting point is 00:37:37 I love it. I know. I can't help it. But COVID kicked my ass. I gained a lot of weight during COVID. A lot of people did. I had gotten so out of shape. You either came out great out of COVID in the best shape of your life or you came out
Starting point is 00:37:49 like a lot heavier. I was a lot heavier. Out of shape, not good and and doctor Joseph Michaels in Delaware, like the best. Absolute. I have a very tiny scar. He did an amazing job. Meema, I can't get back to what I looked like during COVID, because that's all I keep in my head. I can't get back there. I'm sure I had a lot during COVID. Oh my god. I had not I had the gym in my house like two times a day. I can't get back to that. Anyway, which was your most painful plastic surgery? What? The Tommy talk, you don't think you're going to survive it. But you, you know,
Starting point is 00:38:26 the pain you forget, the pain does go away. But that was a rough one. It's the roughest. And is there one that you regret or wish you wouldn't do, wouldn't have done or you want to redo? So I had liposuction on my legs and that is never good. I don't like that. What can you like about skin? You have loose skin and it's just hard to fix. Do you think it creates loose skin?
Starting point is 00:38:56 It does. Liposuction does create loose skin. Wow. Because you're taking away the fan then. Yeah. So you just have to be careful with that. Okay, all right. Well, there's our little plastic surgery wrap up with Dolores. Okay, so here's a couple questions from fans. Dolores, I asked them and this is what they want to know.
Starting point is 00:39:16 They want to know, do you still run a gym? Are you still associated with a gym? No, we sold our gyms before COVID. I mean, not knowing no a new COVID was going to happen, right? But it was it Frank's that was Frank's baby, the gyms and we just had enough of them, you know, I Frank was mostly running the gyms more than me. Got it. Okay. Are you still friends with S with Sige Flicker? People want to know? So we never became unfriends, but I have not spoken to Sige since she's been off the show. I think that when Sige decided not to be on the show anymore, I think anything to do with housewives, she was not something she wanted to be with. So her and I never had a falling out, never had a problem. We just kind of parted ways.
Starting point is 00:40:08 Got it. It happens. And she's a Florida. She moves at a state. And I mean, you know, it's just, yeah, sometimes when people aren't on the show anymore, they just don't want to be affiliated with. I find that all the time. Soon as they're not on the show anymore, they almost are, they still, they don't want to talk to the people who find that all the time. Soon as they're not on the show anymore, they almost are, they still, they don't want to talk to the people who are still on the show. It's not that we don't want to talk to them. They don't want to talk to us, which I always found so strange, but I don't know.
Starting point is 00:40:33 It is what it is. Oh, I can imagine why they're asking this question, but, and I think it is a fair, good question, but how do you manage friendship, right, between two people that are not friends? How do you maintain a friendship on both sides? A lot of people do envy this of you Dolores right and you are very good at doing it and I think it's a fair question and just how do you do this? I can only say that I've done it this way and it hasn't been easy because then some people get mad at me but they never get really mad at me.
Starting point is 00:41:04 They get frustrated, right? When they're going through something, they'll take out some frustration on me, and I always seem to just talk them out of it by saying, I understand you're hurt and I'm sorry, but you know, you'll get through it. And I have sisters, I'm one of four girls, right? I have a brother and there's like, so, you know, I have sisters and whenever my mother always taught us when your sisters fight don't get involved, let them figure it out. And it always happens that they do.
Starting point is 00:41:36 So that's just the way I was raised and I consider my friends like my sisters. So, you know, and you're not always the popular one for doing that. You know, maybe sometimes I'll be left out of something or whatever, but when things are so heated and there's a lot of emotions and there's a lot of fights, I don't want to be sitting at the table of people being angry with my other friends. I don't want to hear it. And then it makes sense. It's like, listen, you love both of your sisters, right? In this instance, but when they've argued, when they're done, you're still going to love both of your sisters. They had their argument, has nothing to do with you, right? So I can support, like I could support the friend, but I don't have to support the fight. And I find that the less people that get involved in that argument, the less time it'll
Starting point is 00:42:20 stay alive. Makes sense. I mean, I think people with larger families are better at maintaining relationships with multiple people. It's just that it just is. Even my girlfriends that have mold like, you know, I have girlfriends that just have a brother or I have girlfriends that are just an only child. And I have, but the ones that have multiple sisters that they, they kind of manage and just are better at girl relationships. A lot of times because you just know how to work with women, you
Starting point is 00:42:49 know, right? Not all the time, but some cases. I see. I've seen. Lauren had to like manage it and finagle it. I just had this conversation with somebody about two hours ago. She she was one of four girls and she said her and our sisters used to beat this shit out of each other, but her parents were both only children. So they never knew how to handle those fights really because they were like, what is this? You know, why are you hurting each other? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:14 Wait, this question is so funny. This is the last question from the fans. Shag married kill. Joker, good. Joe B and Joe. Judy's. Ha, ha, ha, ha. and Joe, Joe, Judy. All the three Joe's.
Starting point is 00:43:30 Joe, be wide. I'm not even answering. Joe, be in the other. You don't want to answer this. This is funny. I'm one time or another. I would like to have killed them all to be. There you go. She'll she'll kill them all.
Starting point is 00:43:43 There's that answer. That is so funny. All funny. Listen to lures, I loved having you on today. You are so much fun. I everybody wants to know, you know, they want to hear from you. They all love you. All my fans love you. And I appreciate you so much. I really do. You've always been great to me when it comes to advice and just, you know, like another big sister in my life that I have to ask questions to and you're really great at that. And I enjoy our time on the housewives together and I have so many memories of you. Even, you know, Melissa, when you first got on stage and sang on display, you were there. I was there for it. I was there for so many things in your life and you're there for so many in mind that I just I really enjoy it that we share that so thank you watch my kids grow up as well. You've been around forever since the first I love how you I love how you kept on I always say that about you and Joe.
Starting point is 00:44:41 Thank you. I appreciate that. I think we have very similar parenting. You know, we always say we're very similar when it comes to parenting you and Joe. Thank you. Yeah, like the DNA. Remember that I actually have a pillow that says that. I, I die. I can't. The boys, you know, I'm weak for my boys. They make me wait. I, I die. But anyway, I wish you and Paulie, honestly, nothing but happiness. Thank you for your honesty today. Thank you for coming on.
