Starting point is 00:00:00 God, we should do a blooper reel. Hi, guys. Welcome to On Display. So listen, I've been running around a lot this week, so I decided to give you guys an awesome Rewind episode in case you guys missed it. And even if you didn't miss it, it's such a fun episode and everyone seemed to love it. It's a little behind the scenes. It features me and my hubby Joe Gorgia. Also, my producer Brett comes on and shares a little bit of behind the curtains of this podcast. He gives us some great bloopers and just experiences first meeting me and just when I first got on this podcast and just a little behind the scenes of it all. So I hope you guys enjoyed it. It was a really fun episode and I will talk to you guys next week. Love you. Hi guys. Welcome back to another episode
Starting point is 00:00:55 of on display. I am so happy to be here. I know we had a little break and I had an amazing trip in Italy to say the least, but I missed you guys and I did promise you guys when I got back, we're going to do a super fun episode today, uh, behind the scenes episodes. So I'm really excited for this episode because this podcast has been a ton of fun since it started. I've had such great chats with a lot of really great people, But there's someone that hides behind the scenes to make this all happen all the time. And today, we're going to bring him on
Starting point is 00:01:30 display. It's going to be a little behind the scenes episode with my producer, Brett. Okay, there's also going to be a swing goal. Hold on. There's going to be a sprinkle of Joe Gorgha in here too. I've been on this like 25 times. Brett's never been on it. And there you go. Exactly. So there you go. I'm right here. Okay. That's disrespect. It should be instantly. Hey guys, Joe Gorgas right here. All right. Well, everyone, welcome Brett, my producer. Hi, Brett. Hey, how's it going? It's very, very exciting to be on display for the first time. How do you like this? But I'm sorry, Joe Gorgia tries to take your stardom so quickly and just tries to like, he's a hog. He's a fame whore. That's the problem.
Starting point is 00:02:18 I just wanted to be why why can't it be like, Hey, it's me and Joe Gorgia here. We're gonna, I want to introduce you also, Brett. Okay. All right. So give Brett a nice little introduction, Joe. Go ahead. What's your introduction? Don't don't copy my now. Hi, guys. Hi.
Starting point is 00:02:34 I just want to say, you know, I want to introduce this amazing. He's not just a producer, but he is a new father. And what he says about his daughter and the type of man this guy is. He's my speed. You have a heart of gold. You got great hair. You look good. And I want to introduce our producer, Brett. See, this is why I love you two. You two are I can write something on paper, and then you guys take it and make it
Starting point is 00:03:05 a thousand times better. So you make my job really easy. And do we probably not all the time? Do you get ever get sick of hearing our ban? I mean, I know you and I, Brett worked together a lot more, but you know, when Joe comes on, do you enjoy those episodes or are you like, holy shit, here comes the banter. You know, my stomach hurts after I have you two on. It reminds me a lot of my wife and I, you're two real people. You keep it candid on the show. That's all I can ask for.
Starting point is 00:03:33 But you make me die laughing every single time I have you on. So it's always worth it. I know. And you probably go back to your wife and you're like, well, the Gorgas were on today. And yes, they discussed sex. And yes, they discussed more sex. And well, was when Joe Gorgas in the room, he doesn't know what else to talk about. Let's be real. You know this, Brett, how many times do I like stop Joe because I'm like, can you stop? Please?
Starting point is 00:03:59 Well, it is the humor. That's what it's about. It's not really that funny. And it is funny. All right. Well, I have to ask you, and listen, there's a lot of times you and I, we, we have such great guests, right? And we've met so many great people. You you give me a good as producers should you write up a lot of questions and you and I will pow wow for a little bit before each episode.
Starting point is 00:04:24 We'll shoot each other some texts, say what we're interested in, what's going on in the world. Like I say to you, Hey, we're talking to this one today. Make sure to put this, this and that in there because I definitely don't want to forget to ask them this and we have a really great banter. So I want to say thank you first of all for helping me create such an amazing podcast because you're really, really good at what you do. And you're very good at making me feel comfortable because you're really, really good at what you do and you're very good at making me feel comfortable because in the beginning, I wasn't even sure I wanted to do a podcast,
Starting point is 00:04:50 right? And, you know, and I knew you had been in this world already for people who don't know. Brett, first of all, let's say your little story. He lives in LA, so Brett's out in LA. He used to work with Ryan Seacrest. Is that right? Yes, that is. That is right. Tell the people what you did, Brett, from Ryan Seacrest to Melissa Gorgon. Yeah. So I was a broadcast engineer for a while for Ryan Seacrest, moved up to LA for that. And then I had the opportunity to work with podcast one as the director of production, took on a few shows. One of my first shows was working with you. And it's always been a blast. I have to say, when I walked through the office, right? And you met him for the first time.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Yeah, I met you for the first time. I'm like, who the fuck is this guy talking to my wife? Guys, Brett is very handsome. Like Joe said, he has a nice set of hair. And it's funny because when we do these podcasts with our guests, they can see Brett, right? Because we do like this Zoom meeting where you can see all three parties involved. And a couple of my guests have definitely hit on Brett before they've definitely, most people say, oh, he's handsome. Oh, and, and
Starting point is 00:05:57 I feel like Carson Cressley, right? Who hit on you so far on my podcast. Yeah. Carson, it was Carson that, I that I mean he that guy is so awesome. First off, I absolutely loved Carson. Carson hit on me. The lovely Ramona Singer. That was a special one. I remember that she was like, Oh, he's cute. He's cute. This guy had to get your producer. You know, she texts me after that. She's like, so what's your producer's name again? Can I use him? Can I, I'm like, no Ramona. You have to use your own producer. I had to tell, I had to tell my wife when I went, when, yeah, after that
Starting point is 00:06:32 thing wrapped, I go, Hey, you better, you better keep me on a tight leash because Ramona singers after me and not, and you know, it's on when she wants to start robbing the cradle. She will. Unbelievable. I was a little concerned. And I'm like, I'm like, us go looking guy talking to my wife all the time. But then, then I met you and he's so nice. You're just a nice guy. You're really
Starting point is 00:06:52 you're respectful. You're nice. And I was like, no, no, no, that's okay. And you love your wife and you just had a little baby. You have he has a gorgeous baby named Paige. He is a stunning child. How old is she? Seven months now, Brett? She just turned seven months. Yep. Just turned seven months.
Starting point is 00:07:10 And yeah, she has been hurting our sleep lately, but it's beautiful. New parents. This is it. This is what life's about. Who gets up at night with her, Brett? You or? God bless Allison. I'd say Allison takes the brunt of it, you know, and like,
Starting point is 00:07:26 obviously, like, you know, she's the one feeding her and doing most of it. I try to help out where I can, but God bless my wife. There you go. Yeah. I mean, if that was me, my wife would be like, ah, this is not true. You've never moved. I got up. You've never even got out of bed when that baby.
Starting point is 00:07:42 Never. I really don't even think you know where the diapers are in the house. I bet you change diapers, Brett. Tell the truth. You know, you do. I do change diapers. I'll keep it just at that. Yeah. Well, first of all, I want you to give us some behind the scenes because I think that's something the viewers and my listeners rather would want to hear. Give me your first impression when you thought like, I wanted to start a podcast when you heard I was doing a podcast thoughts about all of this to be like when you first met me give me the beginning Be honest. I was very nervous. You don't know what you get from reality television people I think a lot of the time you just it was one of those things I only knew the series for a little bit my wife absolutely absolutely loved you too. But you know how that is sometimes,
Starting point is 00:08:26 that people can be very, very charming on screen and then can be complete nightmares, you know, in real life or whatever. So, yeah, I was a little nervous, but then all of our chats, our meetings leading up to the launch, all signs pointed to, this thing is going to work. I could tell right away that you cared about this show.
Starting point is 00:08:47 I remember we recorded the first episode together with you and Joe, and you called me the night before that episode was gonna release and you're like, Brett, something is about to break on TMZ. Joe and I need to record something right now to just talk about this, because this is gonna be what's gonna break tomorrow. I remember telling Allison, I just go, she gives a shit about this show and you can't teach that
Starting point is 00:09:10 level of care about your own product. You either have it or you don't. I've always been like that. Like if I'm going to do something I want to do with A plus, right? I want to go all the way. I want to go hard or go home. But Joe, I did right around the first episode that I did was when you took the suit of bed on stage on your on the your comedies night and we're slurring and falling off the stage and I had to save you and like come get you off the stage, which had never happened before. But I had a heads up that TMZ was putting that out. And I was like, you know what? I called Brett and I was like,
Starting point is 00:09:45 I need to tell my side of the story. It beats 14mZ tells their side of the story. So let's break this. And that's what we did. And we went late that night. I remember. I mean, I think it was eight o'clock. Mine. I mean, it was 11 o'clock your time when we were recording this. And all I thought was she cares about her show. That's all I can ask for as a producer. Starting point is 00:12:56 Let me ask you this. Who like we've had many guests, right? We've had a lot of guests. Let me just tell you, you're slacking a little right now on the producing because usually you'll scroll my little thing up and you haven't really scroll because you're so into being a guest right now, but I'm really enjoying this. Like, we're wearing two hats here today, Brett. Yeah. So, so what Melissa's, what Melissa's talking about is we have like a production sheet. We'll roll through it as the interview progresses. We try to hit the spots as much as possible. You obviously take it wherever it goes and it's always in the better direction, but I
Starting point is 00:13:34 am slacking on the, on the sheet today. I'm sorry. I don't even look at that side. I don't even look at you talking. Yeah, exactly. Joe doesn't, Joe doesn't hit a schedule. He just goes, But my my thing is like a lot of times Brett and I will come up with things that I do not want to forget
Starting point is 00:13:50 to ask the guests because they're like important key things. And unless we write them down and he's scrolling around on my screen, if I'm heavy on one subject, he'll highlight something but don't forget to ask this while I'm talking so that I remember, you know, it's just a little behind the scenes show. That's how that goes. So usually he's scrolling right now as I'm talking and he's not. He's just leaving me on the first paragraph, which is because he's the actual guest today. I've never been in the seat before, so it's awesome. I'm teasing you, but I actually love it at the same time. That is so funny. So we've had a lot of guests, right?
Starting point is 00:14:28 I think I know personally, like I remember you. And Brett O'Weiss says hello. So whoever comes on Zoom, he always says hi. I'm the producer. He meets them. We all see each other. And there was one that I thought that he was like very excited
Starting point is 00:14:46 about. I was like, wow, he's like a real fan. Like you really were a fan. So let me ask you who out of everyone that we have spoken to so far, have you really fangirl the hardest over? You know, I truly think I can, I still remember the day. I think Michael Rappaport joining our show was one of those, one of those times. You were like a kid in a damn candy store. And that's who I was talking about too. You were like, I'm a, I want to go to your shows.
Starting point is 00:15:17 I'm a major fan. I was like, he loves him and you can tell you knew everything about him. Like you can just tell that he was like a major fan. Yeah. I mean, I remember sliding in notes for that particular episode where I'm writing these notes and I'm just like, no one's going to care about this. It's me asking Michael Rappaport that.
Starting point is 00:15:35 So we had to, we had to take some of the questions out. But yeah, Michael Rappaport was so fantastic. I actually think I forgot to mute my mouth. So as he's joining, I just said something like, my God, Melissa, I am such a fan of this guy. And I think he heard that. Oh my God. Yeah. And you really were. It was so, it was so obvious too. Because you're pretty cool with everyone. But with him, I was like, wow, he is like really digging Michael Rappaport. I fan girl doubt. I remember afterwards we exchanged numbers. We went to his comedy show
Starting point is 00:16:08 that night. He and I were texting. It was it was a good time. Oh, you did go to his comedy show. He gave you tickets and everything. Right? Yep. Yep. He gave he gave us tickets. I mean, it was it was a fantastic night. He's a good guy. He's actually a good guy. I think he gets, you know, people it's like, you don't know, know, because he's loud and he speaks his mind, but he's actually a good guy. I think he gets you know people it's like you don't you don't know because he's loud and he speaks It's mine, but he's actually a really good guy a really good guy is my child FaceTiming me from the Drake concert right now Right that's what you're gonna look forward to seven months old priest soon should be calling you she's at the Drake concert You know
Starting point is 00:16:45 No, no it goes that fast. It does go really fast. That's what I've heard too. The days are long, but the years are very short when it comes to being a parent. It is so true. Like every time you turn around, it's another birthday or it's another Christmas or whatever it might be. Like it really does fly.
Starting point is 00:17:04 And so like when people used to say that to me when I had little babies, I was like, Yeah, yeah, yeah, just somebody make them talk and feed themselves and change their own, wipe their own shit. Like that's what I used to think about. And now I'm like, I would do anything to chase them around the house. Yeah. Yeah. And I mean, I already look at her seven months old and it's like how much time has passed. I mean, it's like yesterday she was born.
Starting point is 00:17:26 You guys know it. You've had three amazing kids and I've taken a few notes out of the Gorgas parenting book. Oh, well, thank you. Some parenting notes. Yeah, always being there for each other. You guys live a life of excitement. You never forget to keep your relationship at the forefront. I mean, obviously kids are the priority, but that's one thing I've really,
Starting point is 00:17:48 really noticed with working with you to, you always make sure you don't forget about your relationship. And that's a huge thing. That's a huge, huge lesson that I think a lot of people have to learn when it's go time and luckily working with you to, you know, my daughter comes into the world and it was one of those things that Allison and I have focused on a lot and that's a lot to do with working with you two, just making sure that the parents are good that the relationship is good on that and because if that's not good, how do you take care of your children in the right way. And there you go and I've watched a lot of these parents like in the sports world, and you know, because we're into sports a lot and the parents just
Starting point is 00:18:25 kind of separate. They go with the, they're so involved in their kid's sports and they just forget about, you know, men forget about their wives and vice versa. And you forget about that you're still married and you can't do that, you know, you got to remember the parents are there. We got, you got to keep the foundation to keep everybody. You have to or else the whole house kind of falls down. And then the children are miserable because they see your misery on your face. And if the mom's not happy, then the dad's not happy.
Starting point is 00:18:52 If the dad's not happy, right? So it just kind of trickles down. So I do feel like the core relationship needs to remain strong. And sometimes it's hard because you start arguing about bills and diapers and kids and who's going to do what and who can get their nails done and who has to go to work and you know just like who's doing more in the household and it gets very tainted and you almost forget why you guys got married
Starting point is 00:19:16 or why you love each other or why you're in a relationship and you know you're both just stressed and tired and it's just one of those things that you really have to concentrate on your marriage just as much as you concentrate on your kids or else it all kind of crumbles. No, but I look at the days, I look at the days like when my parents were younger, we were younger and like the old school value ways,
Starting point is 00:19:43 the parents hung out more. They partied, we went with them or they invited people over. That's what it used to be, right? It was about the parents. It wasn't about the kids. It wasn't now it's about the kids. They can drive us around and do everything.
Starting point is 00:19:59 It was more about the parents. They worked, they did everything. And now these days, it's like, we, the kids control us, drive me here, bring me here, I got to go here, this play day, that play there, you know, and we're running around for them. No, no, that's true. Back in the day, it was like, no, we're the parents, we don't care what movie you want to see, you're going to watch what we want to see, right? And I feel like now it is so it's about like, we have to take them, they want to go out, they want to go to the movies,
Starting point is 00:20:29 they want to go to a concert, what do they want to eat? And it used to be where parents would be like, what, and you're a millennial, right, Brett? Because so your, your household's going to be run more child is the runner, like it's just crazy. And like we didn't grow up like that, Joe. And I, how did you grow up? Was it like, did you do what your parents wanted to do type of thing? Yeah, you know, I mean, that was one of the things that I think my parents were really, really good at. And we were always populating with them. We were never steering the ship. My sister, my brother and I, we were following along. We were never forgotten about or anything
Starting point is 00:21:04 like that. But my parents did what they wanted to do, whether it was my mom and I, we were following along. We were never forgotten about or anything like that, but my parents did what they wanted to do. Whether it was my mom and her boyfriends or my dad and my step mom, they always made the plans and we were the ones that were following along with it. And I think that was huge too, because that's what I'm gonna instill with Paige is as much as I love you, you're riding with us. Yeah, like I'm the boss, right?
Starting point is 00:21:23 And I feel like we lose that sometimes, show. No, we do that. No, but we sometimes we work a lot too. So maybe we have guilt. So we'll do what they want to do. We're like, sometimes if it's like we're fighting over, we're going to go down the shore, or we're going to stay up north. Something as easy as that. Like, we give in to what they want to do because I don't know a lot, not like these other parents. We don't, we give in, but we do a lot for us together. Because if you don't forget it, we have to. Right, and they'll make them come to dinner with us at like a restaurant that we wanna go to or whatever. They'll control your whole life
Starting point is 00:21:57 and you're running around just for them and they're having a good time and you're just like the dummy. Yeah, no. You're the dummy just obeying the kids. Yeah, no, no, no. It's like, listen, we work hard. We work hard as hell to give you this life. I need my time, you know, and we'll give you your time.
Starting point is 00:22:13 So just keep that in mind because if you guys, what happens is it ruins a marriage. It really does. Yeah. I think you can fall into a rut very easily. Allison, we've fallen into that a little bit with just prioritizing Paige. We're not denying her anything, but at the same time, we're constantly remembering that it's, we're the team that instills and takes care of her. If the team is not good, we can't perform. And I just feel like Brett, there was a lot more respect back then. The kids respected more of their parents.
Starting point is 00:22:46 These days, it's just different. Yeah, yeah. I really, it's- They're not as scared, I would say. They're not scared. Like back in the day, I think we were all scared. Like we were like scared to like- Yeah, scared.
Starting point is 00:22:57 You should say the wrong thing, to do the wrong thing, to get in trouble. I don't feel like these kids nowadays are not, they're not as like scared or nervous. That's what social media media everything's out open They see everything right you know as a parent's like you know I was a little stricter with my daughter my kids and then All the parents and then like they live they the kids can do anything they want
Starting point is 00:23:19 So it's like you you're only you can't be the only one that can't do it So it's like you're only, you can't be the only one that can do it. So you, it's. Yeah, we were noticing a lot of parents around us were a lot more lenient than we were. So we almost gave in a little bit. We started to give in, right? Basically. Yeah. Looking back, I remember feeling so cool and respected when I sat at the parents table,
Starting point is 00:23:42 the day that I could move from the kids table to the parents table All right, and I feel like that you know not to get hung up on it But I feel like that's changed where yeah the kids think okay Well if the parents are cool, they're gonna hang with us and it's like no no no that's not the case Right. Why are we giving them so much control? We need to come together as a nation. Well, we're trying to teach you Brett. Change it up brother. Yes. Hey, hey. It's just really what your dad used to say the weight when the tree starts growing, it doesn't bend.
Starting point is 00:24:12 No, my father used to say you bend the tree when it's small because when it grows, you know, a tree gets hard, you can't bend it. It's too big. You can't bend it. You can't bend it. Guys, cleaning cookware that has all this sticky food mess sucks. You know me, you know I love cooking Italian meals,
Starting point is 00:24:29 but with the sauces and all the other things that can stick to the pans, cleaning sometimes becomes quite a hassle. That's what I wanna tell you about Green Pan. As you know, I'm super health conscious, but I've never thought about what my pans are made out of. That is until I got Green Pan. Green Pan's cookware is free of PFA's, PFOA, and lead.
Starting point is 00:24:50 And Green Pan recently launched their new slow cookers. The same beautiful cookware you know and love can now create family-sized meals with the press of a button. Not sure which cookware is right for you? Green Pan has a quiz that guides you to the right choice based on your experience level, how often you cook, and what kind of stove top you have. GreenPan also owns their factory,
Starting point is 00:25:11 so while other companies create cheap products with cheap materials, because you guessed it, it's cheaper, GreenPan's products live up to their standards. That's why they won the 2023 Good Housekeeping Sustainable Innovation Award. So toss those plastic pans and upgrade your cookware this year with GreenPan. Head to greenpan.us and use promo code Melissa and you'll receive 30% off your entire order, plus free shipping on all orders over $99. That's right, 30% off. So head to greenpan.us
Starting point is 00:25:43 and make sure you use our promo code Melissa or they won't know that I sent you Okay, well with that getting back to a little bit more of behind the scenes Tell me wait, what was it like when you met Donna? You met my mom? You've met my sisters You met like a lot of my fam too. How is that was that that kind of fun? I, I was extremely nervous about meeting your mom, Donna. Really? The world famous Donna Marco. I was very, very, very nervous about she's so easy and she's so funny.
Starting point is 00:26:14 She's amazing. She is so loving and she comes in and she, she brings a presence. Everybody is laughing. Everybody's smiling right away. She brings that energy and I see where you get it from Joe I mean your parents put it in you too. It's just the room Livens up and lightens up when you tour in it. She's let me tell you something my mother-in-law is is God brought her to me She's amazing. Oh, he loves
Starting point is 00:26:40 She's the best yeah, I mean we've done a couple recordings now where she's been in the background and it is one of the best things when Donna Marko pops in. She's like, hello. She's gave me my, I would say my liveliness. She's very lively. She walks into the space. I gave her her liveness. Married to me 18. No, Joe, you, this guy wants to take credit for everything. Jesus. All right. So give me some other little like behind the scenes things. What else comes to mind when you think of Melissa Gorgon on display and being the producer of this show? I absolutely love, especially when we have Joe on the tangents. When we go off subject and Joe says something, you know, sometimes most of the times it's about
Starting point is 00:27:25 sex or something. Your dynamic, the two of them and how many times Melissa, you've said, Oh my God, stop. We've got to cut right here. We're not going. Oh my God. I tell him when he goes too deep into the sex talk, I'm like, wait, Brett, Brett, Brett, Brett, I'm like, Joe, stop talking. Brett, just cut that whole part out, please. Don't you dare cut it.
Starting point is 00:27:47 And Joe's like, don't cut it out. These people need to know they need to know. I'm like, no, they don't need to hear about your sex. It's not about my sex. It's about life. I know. But sometimes she like, see, we're doing it. We're doing it again, Brett. And you're just sitting there laughing at us. That's funny. I'll tell you another thing that I absolutely love is when we do ads, I mean, the ads that we have to read, Melissa, you are hilarious. And sometimes these ad reads can be a little difficult.
Starting point is 00:28:16 So I put together a little blooper reel for you. I'm dying to hear. Wait, you put a blooper reel together? I did, actually. I put a blooper reel together. Let's play it. Can you play it for us? I will fire it away right now. Time report your payments to credit boroughs, bureaus, chime report your pain chime report your payments to credit bureaus. I can't ever say bureaus. I could do that chime record chime rip. Oh my God. And yes, if you don't know exactly how much you're spending
Starting point is 00:28:47 every month, you need rocket monkey. Rocket monkey is a personal finance app that finds and can't rocket rocket money. But rocket monkey. It's rocket monkey. Rocket money. And not only do they have spark, they have the electro like drink mix. You will receive a full breakdown of all the interest you shouldn't be paying each month
Starting point is 00:29:30 and multiple options on how they can get help. Fuck, that was so close. You suck. Dot dot com slash Melissa and download the ZockDot app for free. Dot dot dot. Dot dot. We'll do it again. Go to ZockDot. free. ZockDoc. ZockDoc. We'll do it again. Go to ZockDoc.
Starting point is 00:29:46 This is going to be so hard. Go to ZockDoc. Tony is making fun of me. Go to ZockDoc. God, we should do a blooper reel. You're terrible. That's terrible. I can I'll kill these ads. Oh, you think you could read Zock Doc?
Starting point is 00:30:09 Sure. Okay, go ahead. Try it. Wait, Brett, you have to pull this up for him. You don't know it's a damn. Oh, this is going to be. I want to hear you do. To hear Joe read this ad is going to give me happiness. I cannot wait for this one. Ready? Go to zock.com slash Melissa and download the Zock.com app for free. Then find a book to top rated Dr. Today. No, no, a top rated Dr. Today. Goop.com slash Melissa zop.com slash Melissa. No, that's the OCD. Oh, you have to spell it. Oh, yes. Oh, I didn't know that. I'm not thinking, but I did good. Right. Come on, Brett. You know, I would give you I would give you a solid six on that. I would give you a six for that. Wasn't a one. Listen, now read it again and I'll do okay. Good. All right.
Starting point is 00:31:05 So this is this is live radio read. You got one shot Joe fire away. Okay. That's Z O C D O C dot com slash Melissa. That's Zot.com slash Melissa. There you go, baby. No, you didn't do it good. Yes, I did. You have to say that, DOC, DOC.com slash Melissa. Zoc.com slash Melissa. Zoc.com. Guys, oh my God, everyone's gonna be like, what the hell is Zoc. You know, your ad reading has improved, but you've always been fantastic to work with.
Starting point is 00:31:43 Oh, well, I'm so lucky to have you because you really like, first of all, you make my guests feel so comfortable and you always reassure me and you're so great with like, you just, you live in my mood. Even when I went through some really hard times this past year, just with my show and family stuff and you would always be, I have to say like,
Starting point is 00:32:02 I have that producer. I can't say this for all the other podcasts out there, but you always lean towards stay out of the mud, stay positive, Melissa. Don't talk about it. And you always push to stay positive. And I appreciate you so much for that because I get into a rut and I want to defend myself, right? Or sometimes I want to explain myself to the haters and you always tell me it's not worth it and not to do it and to rise above. And I appreciate that advice from you all the time.

All right, you have to say one negative thing about me what's not you know what is the worst thing about working with me? Brett, what is it? Like what do I do that's kind of like the worst thing about working with me?
Starting point is 00:33:51 You know Speak What if you had to pick a negative like what's What if you had to pick a negative like what's a Stuttering about the same question get like a little difficult or something. What is it about or what is it? You know, I think sometimes and I don't even think it's necessarily you but and I think that sometimes speaking your mind and we always talk about it the powers that be sometimes the powers that be you know tend to step in and don't want us to say this, don't want us to keep it as real as we want to keep it and things like that. And sometimes that gets a little hard to navigate. Sometimes
Starting point is 00:34:34 my job becomes a tad more challenging when we have extra ears, you know, listening and wanting us to tweak some content and critiquing and telling us to take it down or take it out or whatever can get a little frustrating. Yeah. And you know, sometimes keeping it real to tweak some content and critiquing and telling us to take it down or take it out or whatever. It can get a little frustrating. Yeah. And you know, sometimes keeping it real gets us into hot water, but we don't put out regrettable content.
Starting point is 00:34:53 Right. That's what I want to do. Put out content that's not regrettable that people enjoy listening, that people it's happy listening. It's not listening to like a shit fest of shitting on people and trying to make other people look bad or trying to win You know how you win you win with your real personality And I feel like you taught me a lot of that Brett too and just there's no need to defend Just be you because when you're authentic and who you are and you're not trying to put someone else down
Starting point is 00:35:19 It lets the real you show even more and I feel like that's a bad pattern people get into with podcasts is almost like battling of the podcast, right? And like wanting to just be negative about other people and use the platform for that. And I think you and I together have come up with great episodes and great people and really mixed it up in a way where we figured out a way
Starting point is 00:35:42 to just still be interesting, still be fun without hurting people and without playing in the mud. And that's always been important for me for this podcast. And also my listeners just giving them a good laugh for 30, 40 minutes and making them have like easy listening and talking about like relatable things in house and home and relationships and kids and bringing on a fun celebrity guest and another Bravo Liberty that's going to give us a little piece of juicy scoop. Like for me, this is what it's all about being on this podcast and it is not possible without you at all.
Starting point is 00:36:16 So thank you. That's why I wanted to introduce you today to all the listeners who, you know, you know, people come up to me and they're like, I'm a listener. Like they'll come up to me in a restaurant and they'll be like, I'm a listener. And I love that. So I feel like the listeners need to know Brett. So now they know him.
Starting point is 00:36:36 He's very handsome guys. He's very taken and he's a daddy. So it doesn't matter. Yeah. So Ramona's second in line, just in case this doesn't work out. But everything, anything ever happened. You're all about Ramona. I got that.
