Starting point is 00:01:32 Wow, it's a pretty big deal. It's a big deal. I don't even remember sitting in front of this mic 100 times to talk to 100 people. I mean, is that what I did? I tell you, she 100 episodes and she made chicks. She's making a great dinner upstairs. I can't wait to eat it.
Starting point is 00:01:45 Oh, chicken. Chicken. Yeah. We're potatoes and carrots and... Yeah, I'm making a chicken tonight and I put it in before we started this episode and I put the alarm on because it's gonna tell me when I have to turn the chicken.
Starting point is 00:01:56 So if you hear my alarm go off, that's why. Because I'm making chicken upstairs during this podcast. Unbelievable. So 100 episodes, I'm very, very, very excited about it. And just 100 episodes. That's a pretty big deal. Wow. How did it, you know, and I'm going to keep going.
Starting point is 00:02:13 We're going to do 100 more. There you go. Yeah, so that's that. But thanks for listening. Happy New Year to everyone. I feel like we haven't spoken to anyone since what? Like right before Christmas So I hope you guys had an awesome holiday an awesome New Year's Eve
Starting point is 00:02:31 We were in a rubah. We had the absolute best time great time whether everyone always asked me about it And I say like you can't go wrong because the weather in a rubah is just always You got to start the new year right. You just got to start it right. Yeah. You know, my bigger question though, is like, where is everyone for these two weeks? Because anyone noticed that like, the whole world goes silent for the next two weeks. Like, no one's around.
Starting point is 00:02:59 It's quiet by envy. It's quiet. Like, when we go to dinner, it's quiet in the food store. It's just, it's just like a quiet two weeks. I just feel like the world hibernates for the first two weeks in January. Yeah, it's pretty right. Yeah, the streets are quiet. Everywhere's quiet. Like it looks silent outside. Yeah, instead of you see, we went the day after Christmas. I guess they go, they wait another week and people go away or they just chill out. No, I just think the world is home like nobody everyone like spent all their money
Starting point is 00:03:28 for Christmas. Yeah, and They shopped and they did all their things and like Nobody wants to go to dinner because everyone went to their parties and it's just like a quiet Now you gotta catch up. You gotta make the you gotta get the bank account everybody spent the money It's got I guess but just like I just feel like I just don't see humans out on the roads. It's pretty cool. And it's supposed to snow in the weather. It's kind of chill, you know?
Starting point is 00:03:50 It's like winter time. It's boring. I'm not gonna lie. I put my pajamas on by like five, four, 30, because it gets dark. Soon as it gets dark here, what is that? Like five o'clock. I put my pajamas on every night.
Starting point is 00:04:02 I'm gonna have my sweats on. Joe gets home earlier too in the winter and I feel like I'm like cooking dinner at 4.30. Yeah. I mean, it's just crazy. Yeah, it's crazy. And I enjoy it. I like.
Starting point is 00:04:14 That's what I like. I like hibernating. I got beautiful woman cooking dinner, making a nice dinner too. You should make me dinner. That would be nice. Yeah, I know what I've been doing. I've been washing the dishes,
Starting point is 00:04:26 which I have never been doing. Yeah. So I've been putting my time in there. I kind of bully you into doing that because I like tell you how all the men these days wash the dishes. And then you kind of feel bad and start washing the dishes.
Starting point is 00:04:38 I don't feel bad. I just, you know what? I appreciate you. Think about that. Think about what I'm saying. Oh my God You want you want like a trophy for washing the day. No, I appreciate you think about what I'm saying here I'll think about what I'm saying. I'm giving you a comment. I see you cook. I see you got a hundred episodes
Starting point is 00:04:57 I see what you're doing and you're cooked and I'm like listen up. I've got the dishes. I know you have the dishes That's that's a, I've got the dishes. I know you have the dishes. No, that's a great idea. I hate the dishes. So when you see me doing the dishes, is because I appreciate you. Well, thank you. And that's not, I don't want a trophy. It's just, I'm telling you that it's very good. I appreciate you.
Starting point is 00:05:17 Can you see my exhaustion? No, you know, it's a team effort, it's a team effort. It is a team. And that's why I'm like happy that you started. First of all, it's my pet peeve, right? Like do I not? She hates the dishes.'s why I'm like happy that you started can sure first of all it's my peppe right like do I know he hates the dishes I actually like the dishes I honestly I get it don't do I love him you like that little science to put him in the dishwasher I'm like no don't worry about
Starting point is 00:05:36 the dishwasher my fingers my hands are like dishwashers you know what it is no you like that little thing that has to soap in it and the sponge at the end and he just like swirls it around and he doesn't he's like look This is so easy. I don't know why you complain about the dishes. It's so easy. I wash her my dry I put them away all like within minutes minutes. I know but like it the water on my fingers and my nails and any lotion I'm just I'm not that's not thing. Like I'll vacuum all day long, but I do not want to wash a dish. Well, that's what I'm here now, baby.
Starting point is 00:06:09 It's just, it's just not. I do think that if one partner is like cooking, right? And then the other one is cleaning. It's actually like, it's good. You know, I really, I honestly never did it, right? For so many years, I just was too tired. I was like, so did I ever do anything? No, you never really do cleaning.
Starting point is 00:06:29 That was not your thing. I can't, I don't know how to clean. Like, you're the guy who drops his underwear on the floor and then I like come around and like put it in the waste basket when like, in the laundry basket, I should say. I just do it because I'm just, I don't know, I'm just, when I'm home, I'm just exhausted.
Starting point is 00:06:45 You do work a lot. I know you don't work from home, a lot of people work from home. Like you're out at five o'clock in the morning, so. Yeah, I'm just tired. We'll give you a small pass because you are exhausted when you get home. But so am I.
Starting point is 00:06:56 But it's good to know, it's given the world an update on Joe Gorge. He is now doing the dishes everyone. Yeah. There we go. And then I'm gonna start Instagramming you. Every time you do the dishes, it's just because we go. I'm going to start Instagramming you every time you do the dishes. It's just because
Starting point is 00:07:07 it'll be like a funny thing. All right. Good. All the men should start doing a dish. Help you wipes out and vice versa. I will say cooking with your spouse is not really romantic. Like it looks in
Starting point is 00:07:19 the movies at all. It's usually turns into like a freaking nightmare. And I'm like get out of my way. You're in my way. Everyone acts like are in the movies at least. it's usually turns into like a freaking nightmare. And I'm like, get out of my way, you're in my way. Everyone acts like, or in the movies at least, it's like they have a glass of wine, and it's so romantic, and they're like cutting the celery,
Starting point is 00:07:33 and you know, who's peeling the freaking carrots, and it's just like, it's a nightmare. But we had a little romantic thing on Sunday. We cooked together, and it was sweet and nice. On Sunday, we did, we made pasta on Sunday, yeah. And I cut the cheese. Yeah, you cut the cheese. I cut all the cheese.
Starting point is 00:07:51 I drained the pasta. I put it in. What else I do? You did. You how many? Oh, I chopped it. You know why? His eye getting salted because it's Sunday.
Starting point is 00:08:01 So it's like, when I cook on Sunday, usually do poor bottle. Poor glass of red wine, right? Yeah yeah our friend was over and he's he was just watching us yeah our friend Shane was here just because his son was here so he came to pick him up and so he hung out with us for like an hour or two and he just laughed at us he just sat there and watched that's a laugh and he goes you guys are so funny the way you band did it together he goes you guys need a cooking show together yeah he's like you guys need your funny the way you band together because you guys need a cooking show together. Yeah, he's like, you guys need your own reality show.

Starting point is 00:11:31 Whole life is a reality show, right? I can't even go, can't even go to wrestling matches. Oh my, I don't. I got to reality show, everything's a reality show. It's ridiculous. Leave me a hell alone. Maybe with my son or something, my God. So you lost your cool, you overreacted a little bit.
Starting point is 00:11:48 Oh my God. And we listened. Well, guys, you know, we got to discuss this wrestling thing that was on TMZ. We were just waiting for it, by the way, to be on TMZ because the second Joe or I anybody, you know, of course, cameras up, lights up, of course. So we were just like, I wonder how long it's gonna take for a parent out there, which I would never do, by the way, right? Like, if you were a parent watching a wrestling me and you saw another parent get heated, which I'm sure there's wrestling parents out there
Starting point is 00:12:18 to no wrestling, even football soccer, named this sport basketball, there's always a parent getting annoyed with a ref. No matter what sport hockey, forget it. It's like, so wrestling's big on that obviously because it's a very contact like one-on-one sport. We watch parents and refs, unfortunately, it just happens every meet, every match, every constantly. But the second-
Starting point is 00:12:43 Full-ball wrestling wrestling tennis, basketball. Even yesterday, we were at the Kevin Hart premiere party and this very good looking clean cut guy, right? Put it down there. He was at his daughter's basketball thing. He was telling us how he was going nuts on the referee. Yeah, and if you're out there, you're gonna relate to this
Starting point is 00:13:05 He knows he goes and he was it was a daughter's basketball game and and he went nuts on it So it happens every sport Common thing, but the problem is what it when it finally happens when you do it. It's gonna be Of course, you know, I'm Joe Gorgah Now first of all when I've seen that now I I've been in, I have my kids now, my oldest kid is 16. I've been around sports now for so many years. One thing that I take from this all is how
Starting point is 00:13:33 Gino handled the situation. No, no, no, but because he, I feel like we hold our kids to a very high standard when it comes to how they treat other kids and how they behave and their sportsmanship and just like just as a whole like even just like behavior if you winner if you lose and and we do have to say like You lost your cool, but you know did not he?
Starting point is 00:13:59 Obviously there was a situation where there was dirty play going on on the mat there was a situation where there was dirty play going on on the mat. And you, like if it happens once and the ref, let's it go. All right, but it would happen maybe three, four times and it was getting dirty. Well listen, you know, the stories get twisted, right? The people say I charged the mat, I did all that. First of all, I'm not the ref. I shouldn't be the ref. There's a ref out there being paid.
Starting point is 00:14:24 If you miss one call, that's fine. It's no big deal, but if you're missing five calls, if the kid's out of bounds and he's pushing your son constantly or he's punching him in the back and head while you're wrestling, and then he sticks his tongue at the parent. It's disrespectful. We are there.
Starting point is 00:14:40 Put his fingers in his eyeballs. I mean, it got to the point where Joe was like, and Joe is of course not saying anything to the kid. He's running up to the ref saying like, yo, what are you, are you, oh, there's my chicken timer. There's your chicken, go ahead. Go run for your chicken.
Starting point is 00:14:55 It's my chicken timer, hold on guys. So Joe's running up to the ref because he's getting so frustrated. First of all, the whole place was getting frustrated. They were all, everyone was getting a little annoyed that the ref wasn't calling this out. So now, but I'm going to be honest, you get nervous for your kid. And listen, any wrestling parent can tell you in the heat of the moment, you are your skin's crawling.
Starting point is 00:15:17 Like I barely, football, I do not miss a game. When it comes to wrestling, it gives me anxiety. Joe, it's so hard for me to be there because you watch Gino's arm get twisted behind his head or is it? And it's like, oh my God, I just, I got to get out of the room. But this was very, yes, I know what you're saying. You got very frustrated with the tongue sticking the tongue out. All those things were completely not right.
Starting point is 00:15:40 And obviously, if you had another chance, it's on sportsman like conduct. We teach our children, especially in sports, you have to do the right thing. On sportsman like conduct in the NBA, the NFL, they find you for that. You cannot act that way. So it starts as a young age. If our team ever did that, our coaches are amazing. Our coaches treat our children a discipline, which I love. And I will say it's not even about it
Starting point is 00:16:08 as it was very dirty play, but the fact that the ref, so I walked out there to tell the ref, you know, and the ref the way the ref reacted was uncalled for. He should have just sat there and listened. He's starting to yell and get out. He's the one that calls the problem also. He was annoyed you were correcting him. Yeah, you just, it's listen, he's starting to yell and get out. He's the one that calls the problem also. You, you know, he was annoyed you were correcting him.
Starting point is 00:16:26 Yeah, you just, it's not, see everybody's just twisting the story, but at the end of the day, I'm going to tell you what happened. At the end of the day, I have bonded with my son. He is such a class act. He didn't fight back. He didn't throw a punch. He didn't get aggravated. I got kicked out. He called me. I was out. I left. Anyway, and I said, I left very nicely. And I left.
Starting point is 00:16:51 He called me. He goes, Dad, you're good. Very calmly, very soft, spoken. I go, I'm good. Man, I just, I didn't like the way he was treating you and all the calls. And I'm sorry. He goes, Dad, don't worry about it. He goes, you're, it longs you okay? He goes, I'm gonna wrestle him again. It's fine, Dad. I said, you know, he's the best. He was so classy. And, and then we got in the car. I got in the car, picked him up at school and I looked at him and I go, you good? And I go, I go, you know, I love you, right? And he goes, I love you too, man. I go, I only do this. I just can't bear to see you in pain or hurt or somebody disrespecting you and I apologize. He goes, I don't know that.
Starting point is 00:17:30 I love you too. I said, one day you're gonna have a son. You're gonna feel the same way. This really was a first for me. I've never done this before. I really never went on a mat. You know, I've yelled from across the room like everybody else does
Starting point is 00:17:43 because that's what wrestling is. It's an intense sport, but I've never really done that's that I've never really gone to this limit because it was that bad. Right. And I'm going to I'm going to have to say that the other coach when he found out what really went down, he came over in a college. Which was nice. To my son.
Starting point is 00:18:01 The coach from the other team came over. Not the kid, but the coach, not the kid, but the coach came to came up to Gina and said, you know, he apologized, which was very, which was nice of that coach to do. And you know, and I, and I'm hearing and I see these things all over that. I got mad because Gina got pinned. No, no, no, this is called wrestling. You know, you're going to have an off day. You're're gonna have a great day. A kid that's Not at your caliber is gonna beat you. It happens in wrestling. My son has been pinned 50 times 60 times Geno's got pins plenty of time. No one's ever looked at us and stuck their tongue out
Starting point is 00:18:35 Yeah, I don't really care that he gets paid because I like it when they lose it builds some character You learn when you lose if you run out there and you pin somebody within a minute, you didn't learn anything. But if you have a three minute match and you're learning and you're fighting and you get pinned, that's how you learn, because you learn from your mistakes. This is all training. I don't carry loses.
Starting point is 00:18:57 It's not about that. It's about like you being in that situation, you want your kid to be protected. You want that coach, that referee, to protect your kid to be protected. You want that coach that referee to protect your child out there and make it a fair match, make it fair. My kid's not, don't go out there and abuse him. And listen, I know what you're saying, Joe, I mean, getting back to just the competition itself, you sort of expect the layers of the sport from the ref to like the coach. You
Starting point is 00:19:22 just want them to protect your kid from anyone breaking the rules or behaving in a like a very on sportsman like way. And when those layers don't do anything to prevent it, it hits you in a certain way as a parent. I mean, it just does. The best thing I can say is that I raise the class act. He is such a, I love my son. I swear, he is amazing.
Starting point is 00:19:44 We have done a great job because he could have twisted this He is such a, I love my son. I swear, he is amazing. He is. We have done a great job because he could have twisted this another way, but he stayed as a classiest athlete out there. And that's what I respect. If there was a college out there, Penn State, Michigan, all those big schools sitting there, recruiting, they'd take my son in a heart because he's a class act. One thousand percent. And really all you want as a parent
Starting point is 00:20:05 is for your kids to be the best part of you, right? And then that's really exactly what Gina is. That's it. That's it. He's a hard worker. He learned a little, but he gets the classie from me. And you know, he gets the hard worker from you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:21 That's OK. Sorry. I'm passionate on you. So that's that, guys. It happens. You know, I know all my wrestling parents out there. You know, you know what I'm talking about wrestling parents. You know the happens. All basketball, all of them. Anyway, anyone out there in these competitive sports, you guys know what happens. But of course, Joe Gorgher, they're going to put you on T.M. Z buddy. That's is how it goes.
Starting point is 00:20:45 It's like, it's like, it's like, it's been a lot worse, right? I could have went out and done really good. You could have actually had like a, a fight or something. Yeah, tackled punch in, biting, it'll get crazy, but. Oh my god. No, no, no. Joe, if it makes you feel better, I remember this happened to Kelly Ripa and Mark and Swellis's son also.
Starting point is 00:21:04 I mean, they're like two of the nicest people in television. They're like the best family. But he's like a passionate dad too, right? I mean, somebody pulled his son's head gear and Mark went ballistic. And I remember reading about it because we're wrestling parents, right? So I was like reading the story about how Mark lost his cool, the same way you did. And that's, you know, that's what it is. We're passionate
Starting point is 00:21:28 parents. They're at every one of their sons meets to. He's a sports dad. He gets in there just like you do. And, you know, he's close with his children. And so this is, you know, it happens. Is it the right thing? No, but like, you're not the only one. So hopefully makes you feel a little bit better. And like I said earlier, passionate, protective parents, they protect their kids.
