Starting point is 00:00:00 my whole world was in Hollywood and I worked with all those celebrities and my favorite thing was when I would be working the celebrity who would talk bravo with me some of the biggest celebrities like they love the talk housewives. What's up everyone? Hope you're having an amazing week. Welcome to another episode of on display with Melissa Gorgah. I am super super excited to have this guest back. He is a master hair stylist for some of the biggest names in Hollywood. He's the co founder of DP Hugh hair products. Guys, these hair products are like seriously incredible and ridiculous. We're going to talk about them later. And he's one of my favorite experts of the Bravo universe. Ladies and gentlemen, I have with me today,
Starting point is 00:00:53 Mr. Justin Anderson. Hi, handsome. How's it going, babe? I'm so happy to be here. I know I love when you come on. You are one of my favorite episodes I've ever done because we did one together after Bravo Con and my fans went crazy for you. They loved you so much.
Starting point is 00:01:12 And your fans were so happy. That's so good to hear because the Jersey fans can be brutal, right? I got a little bit nervous for that. Wait, I love that you say that. You know, that's a known fact. Like Andy Cohen talks about that. All everyone talks about the Jersey fans. Well, I honestly didn't know that until I went on to your podcast
Starting point is 00:01:31 because I talk about everything, Rob, like I'm just obsessed with Rob, I'm a super fan. I think it's so fun and stuff. So I talk about all the time on social media, I do a bunch of the podcasts and stuff because I just enjoy it. Like I like the conversation. And when I went on yours, it was like the DMs that I was getting was like the first
Starting point is 00:01:47 time like negative. I try to like pick little fights with me in the DMs that I'm like, what the hell is this? I mean, it's good for your show because it's passionate fans, right? But they're intense. But Jersey's an intense franchise out of all of the housewives. So what else would you expect? It is intense. And I just feel like I guess they say the tree
Starting point is 00:02:07 huggers, they're there a little bit brutal. So that's where it gets to be like a savage, like thing back and forth. And trust me, you're not that like everyone says that about about Andy says it all the time too. He's just like, my God.
Starting point is 00:02:22 So that's the Theresa uh, die hard. Well, right.. So that's the Theresa die hard. Well, right, like her fans will get a little. I feel like that's changing, though. I feel like it started to switch a little bit. I'm noticing that people are kind of onto that now. Like the tree is falling over. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:02:38 I know. Well, what's happening is there's a lot of like leaves falling down. And so people are reading between the lines. So yeah, I think it's a very, from the last time we spoke, it's, they act completely different situation, I would say, for sure. The bus seat is intense. Yes. Yes. Have you been watching? I have. I've not missed an episode. I'm totally invested.
Starting point is 00:03:01 I really, you know, what I think is so great about Jersey is like, you guys always get really good additions in my opinion. Like I think like when women come on, I think on other franchises, it takes people like a few seasons to kind of like warm up, but I feel like Jersey is like hot out the gate whoever they bring on. So I don't know the two new, the three new girls, I love all three of them. I think that they add a lot to the show. And right away, they just seem very comfortable on camera, which for a viewer is entertaining. Right. And you know what?
Starting point is 00:03:33 It's rough because obviously anyone who's joining our show now in season 13 is a fan, right? No matter which way you look at it, if you live in Jersey or wherever at this point, you've seen the show, you know, the show, you know who you're dealing with, right? So it's hard to get people to come in and be like their authentic selves because they already chose a side half the time before they even come in, right? They already know who they're gonna vibe with.
Starting point is 00:03:55 They already know, like, you know, so it's kind of, it's usually rough, but I will say both of them, all three of them actually, did a really good job at like not really picking aside and just going with the flow throughout filming and just like evaluating the situation, be like that they were in. Yeah. And I think like you said watching the show, it's like if you watch Jersey, you know that these are big personalities. Like you guys are all really big personalities. So you have to come in guns ablaze in ablaze in ready to really show off your personality
Starting point is 00:04:25 or else you'll just get kind of pushed to the side. And I think they all really stepped up for sure. What do you think of Danielle and Rachel and Jen for that matter? Give me your little likes and upsets on all three of them. Well, I think that Jen is fabulous for like the comedy, right? Like she's so funny. I think that she seems like she's authentically herself. I think everyone would be friends with a gen. She's just a lot of fun. She kind of makes light of all the situations. I'm a huge fan of Margaret, but it's nice to see somebody who kind of like, who's really close with Margaret that kind of puts her in her place, right? Like she kind of makes the face like, whoa Margaret, you're taking it too far. Whatever. And I appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:05:03 place, right? Like she kind of makes the face like, whoa, Margaret, you're taking it too far. Whatever. And I appreciate that. And then the other two, I think Danielle is fabulous. I think the storyline with her brother, to me, sibling stuff and family stuff is really, really interesting to watch because we can all relate. So I kind of like where her storyline is going with that. And then with Rachel, I think she's really great because she just seems really strong. I love her relationship with her family. And with her son that she looks like she's trying to adopt him legally. And I think it's a good storyline. So I really like all of them for sure. I'm interested to see where it goes with Danielle. I think she is going to be a really big character. She sticks around because already in this season, it's been pretty massive already with her.
Starting point is 00:05:48 Right. No, she came in guns blazing for sure. And she lets it be known that she wants this, right? And that she wants it badly. She's always wanted to kind of be in a position where she's on a reality TV show. So if I'm being totally honest about it, I was unsure how the fans were gonna take her, right?
Starting point is 00:06:07 Because I didn't know if they were gonna be like, wow, this girl really wanted this or really loves this. But so far, they're taking her so it's been great. They like her, they like what she's doing. I was a little nervous in the beginning that it would be a little like too much. I, that makes perfect sense. And like right away, my boyfriend, I was looking
Starting point is 00:06:29 and she was like, is she gonna be too much? So it's like, it's really bad when you come on to reality show and you look like you're trying to play a character right away, right? Like you've watched too much reality TV. So you're like, I'm gonna turn it on. But it's almost like she kind of like owns that side of a person. I like she knows she's over the top. She says that she wants that kind of attention, even the talk about her social media and
Starting point is 00:06:49 stuff. And I think there's fun in that. You know, you know that that will eventually lead to a really good reality TV character when it's like they can just lean in hard to their personality and let it lose. So I think that's what one people over is. She kind of just owns that side of her cell. Agree. I'm still waiting. I heard there was a lot of interviews done like during throughout the season. Like you know, we promote the show. So Bravo asks us to do press and interviews and
Starting point is 00:07:15 you know, she did say a couple times, which you know, we did just film the reunion Justin. Oh my god, Justin. Wait. No, just wait till you see the reunion. It is like no reunion Jersey has ever had. And you know we've had some crazy ones. Oh, it is next level. This one for sure. I saw like interview earth clips. Their Andy Cone was talking and saying that yeah,
Starting point is 00:07:39 it was like the most intense thing he's ever done. He like couldn't sleep after he woke up in the middle of the night and was like processing the intense thing he's ever done. He like couldn't sleep, Bapper. He woke up in the middle of the night and was like processing the whole thing. And even though Andy's been saying that a lot lately with a lot of reunions, this one you could like really feel his like, oh my God, what did I just experience? So I'm about for him.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Now it was one of those, I woke up the next day and said like, what was that? Like what actually just happened? Like there was so many weird accusations that came from left, like left field and I'm talking like they sounded like they came from the sky and then they were like sought up the night before. Like this is what I'm going to, it was insane. It was shock value like to try and throw people off.
Starting point is 00:08:25 I think it was, what's the word when you try to, you want to ignore one situation so you just fuss about something else. Oh, like a deflection or a distraction. Yeah, there was a lot of deflecting going on where it's like, wait, this has nothing to do with anything that went on all season. Like, can we discuss, like usually, you know, you go through the cue cards and it's like, so this happened. So this happened. Tell us your feelings. So this happened.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Why did you say this? Why there was none of that just so you know, zero because it was just screaming and curse. There was just, it was like, I'm being honest, it was different, different reunion. I feel bad for the editors because I'm like, I don't know how they're going to put it all together, but if there's, I don't know, I guess we'll see. They always make it work, right? I mean, for 14 hours, I'm sure they have three hours of good footage that they can use. So think about it too, like anybody listening.
Starting point is 00:09:21 I mean, that is like the most intense thing to be put through because it's like cameras are up. People can say absolutely anything and you're put on the spot. You have to answer somehow. You know, this isn't like you're filming for months at a time and you could go back the next week and kind of fix the problem. This is like your one shot.
Starting point is 00:09:37 People could throw anything out there. It was so bizarre. Some of the stuff. No, Justin, you're gonna die. Like bizarre so bizarre. Some of the stuff. No, Justin, you're gonna die. Like bizarre, bizarre. Like bizarre. I was like, wait, huh? Like we were just like, it was crazy.
Starting point is 00:09:54 So that's that. And you're gonna see that. Did you see our looks? Were you tell me how you feel about all the girls and their looks? I loved them. I was just looking right now. Yours was amazing.
Starting point is 00:10:04 I loved that Royal Blue. I thought that Jen right now. Yours was amazing. I loved that Royal Blue. I thought that Jen Fessler looked amazing. Like I love that color. And I love her hair. And her hair and makeup looked awesome. She looks very young. She had a very, I mean, then she, because she arose with her new face, right? So she had a face and a nose and the whole thing. She looked awesome. She really did. I thought she looked great. Dolores is so hot right now, though. I just have to say like Dolores is so hot to me right now. Everything about her is just sexy and probably being in love. She just looks good. I agree. And when you have a new boyfriend, it's like you want to be like she's,
Starting point is 00:10:37 she's in like a brand new spicy relationship. Like you, you're at your best, right? When you're dating someone and like it's new and like, I feel like that's where she's at right now. She looks great. Here's the thing with people might not know. They assigned us a color. So we literally got an email and it said, so they told me your color is blue, find a blue dress.
Starting point is 00:10:59 They told, you know, Jen, they told Rachel, your color is yellow, find a yellow dress. Like they assigned us a color. And a lot of the girls were like annoyed because they're like, I don't look good in that color and they were trying to like. And they did pretty good though picking the colors because everyone looks pretty good. There's nothing that like totally clashes. No, I think they were doing it. I think that these color doesn't look like Jackie to me, but she pulled it off. I have to tell you in person, Jackie looked like amazing. She looked the best she has ever, ever, ever looked like. I don't think these photos, like my dress was so sparkly on camera.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Like it'll just shine and sparkle the whole time. I don't feel like the photo shows that I chose my dress for the hood. I was obsessed with like runway look. And I was like the first. I'm like, no one's done a hood yet like I'm totally doing this. I'm really interested so you it's perfect. It's me it was comfortable it was body hugging right like it was it was me but yeah just just wait I mean do you have any other good thoughts about this season that you're watching that you feel like sharing. Um no I think that it's really really entertaining
Starting point is 00:12:04 you know like I was saying a little think that it's really, really entertaining. Like I was saying a little bit earlier, I love the family stuff, right? And I'm not going to try to like pressure you into talking too much about this. But there is a part of me because I love you like as a friend now, and we've developed the relationship. I feel really bad for you going through this on camera
Starting point is 00:12:20 because it's like, it's an interesting storyline to people watching, but it's become such a huge storyline and everyone dissecting it on social media because I watch comments and I watch what all the Bravo accounts say and it's like everyone's picking sides and stuff and like, I feel bad because I feel like you're just kind of being dragged through this. You guys are on a show together. You have to talk about it. But I feel like you're handling it in such a good way.
Starting point is 00:12:44 I'm all about family and protecting family, and I feel like the way that you're protecting your kids from this is really, really admirable. And I think that anyone, no matter which side you think you need to pick aside, everyone should really respect the way that you're handling this. Like with your kids, it's really impressive. And I'm not a tree say, hit her, I'm not going to sit here and talk crap about her like whatever. But I think that the way that she's involving her daughters in the conversation on camera to me, it just feels a little dirty. I get it. They've signed up for it. They've been a part of it, but like you'd want your mom to be like, you know what you guys at the end of the day your aunt your uncle love you. This is between me and them, you know, but like kind of pushing that conversation. I don't know that it makes me feel a little uncomfortable as a viewer. It's like you shouldn't do that with your kids on camera. If you think it's uncomfortable as a viewer, do you have any idea how uncomfortable it is as an aunt
Starting point is 00:13:36 and uncle, like listening to it? And it just, no, I can't imagine. I think about that stuff all the time because I'm really close with my family. I have a really big family and we're really close. And we actually talk about it. I did Kristen show, but I never had to involve my family. And I've talked about it with my family. I was like, I wouldn't do that.
Starting point is 00:13:53 I wouldn't bring my family onto it because it's like, you fight about the dumbest stuff with family, but at the end of the day, you love it. But I would never want millions of fans to be weighing in on what they're seeing in little clips, you know? So I really feel for you. I mean, that scene in the bus, it's like the way that it felt. I know it wasn't, they said that it wasn't set up
Starting point is 00:14:14 when Rachel asked about the kids or whatever, but it was still a set up for you. You're stuck in a bus with cameras on you and it's like, of course you're gonna defend your daughter and it's like, no, we're not going there. Like, are you really going there right now? But again, I think you've handled it really well. And there's a lot of gas sliding happening towards you.
Starting point is 00:14:31 I really feel like that. I think it's really unfair because otherwise you'd have to act like a crazy bitch. You know, it's like you're keeping your cool. Wait, wait. If you think I'm keeping my cool on that bus, I'm gonna tell you one more time wait until the reunion Like I walked out of there and felt like I had to put the hood on like I got out of the ring and And I heard the music as I was walking to the door Wow is like just Justin I
Starting point is 00:15:10 Wow, it's like just Justin, I, you know, I like, but I'm going to talk about just like what you said as far as like keeping my cool because listen, we can both do the same thing, right? We can both act like animals. You think I'm not capable of screaming and yelling and acting like an animal and screaming in someone's face, I can do that all day as well. But it takes a very strong person, right, to have someone doing that to you while you remain calm and you people, cool, it's not easy. And people ask me all the time how I do it. And I don't know. And I have my breaking point, right? But it's not easy. And then I do think to myself, well, if I do the same thing, then we're two assholes, right? So let's just let one person be the asshole. So that's like how I look at it.
Starting point is 00:15:50 Like I'm very capable of fighting back a situation in multiple ways, but I look at the bigger picture and I'm like, what are we actually gonna accomplish if two people are being down and dirty to each other? There's never gonna be resolution, right? There's never gonna be the end of the tunnel, ever, ever, ever. So, and especially when it comes to that bus, right?
Starting point is 00:16:10 With like my daughter conversation, no. Like I want her to live, like she's about to go to college. She's like, I'm like, you don't need to talk about this kind of, especially about relatives. Like we don't need to do that. Like we don't ever need to pull that card. I don't ever feel there's a reason to pull the kid card and I'm never going to pull it ever, ever, ever.
Starting point is 00:16:30 Like I got this and so does Joe. So I'm never going to use them as a crutch and that's the end of that. That's just like how I feel and, you know, and I don't put the blame completely on the kids. A lot of the time they are, you know, taught to do that. So it's like it is what it is. I'm never going to be able to argue. I'm never going to argue that. They're always going to,
Starting point is 00:16:51 you know, every child's going to take their parents advice, their side, listen to what they're saying, and that's allowed. I would never expect them to say anything positive on the other side. I just, I don't. That's why you're so admirable in that situation because it's like I think about the way that my parents raised me and anytime there was conflict with aunts and uncles, my parents would always push us out of the room when conversations were happening because it's like the kids don't need to be involved. The kids don't need to pick sides. It's family, you know, and so I think you're doing a really good job with it, but I know how hard that is because you're passionate. I'm not going to be a good guy. I'm not going to be a good guy. I'm not going to be a good guy.
Starting point is 00:17:28 I'm not going to be a good guy. I'm not going to be a good guy. I'm not going to be a good guy. I'm not going to be a good guy. I'm not going to be a good guy. I'm not going to be a good guy. I'm not going to be a good guy. I'm not going to be a good guy.
Starting point is 00:17:44 I'm not going to be a good guy. I'm not going to be a good guy. I'm not going to be a good guy. I'm not going to be a good guy. you. All right guys, let me tell you about one of my favorite new podcasts. It's from Whitney Rose, who you probably know from the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Starting point is 00:18:16 app. That's the Wild Rose podcast. Guys, we all know the hassle of going to the gym, right? Whether it's the time it takes to get there, changing it in and out of clothes in a shared locker room or just finding people that match your speed. And no matter where you're starting from, Peloton's expert instructors, who guys I love them so much, they're there to guide you with contagious energy that you can like feel and supportive instruction at every level to really take the guesswork out of working out.

Speaking of conflict, I don't know if you want to talk about this or not.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Didn't you have another one of our housewives DM you or say so? Oh my God. I mean, that was the thing too. It was like, I say to anybody that, when I talk about BravoCon, I was like, if anyone's never been to BravoCon, what they need to understand is like, it's such a like a hot box of like emotion,
Starting point is 00:19:58 the way that everyone is on TV and there's conflict. At BravoCon, there was so much conflict and you could feel it. And so when I was at BravoCon, I was so much conflict and you could feel it. And so when I was at BravoCon, I was doing interviews with Teddy Melon Camp for I Heart Radio. And we were right off of the red carpet. We were the only podcast that was right off of the red carpet. So I saw every show walking through doing the red carpet.
Starting point is 00:20:18 We talked to all of them and I could feel the energy between the castmates. And when Jersey came on, it was like you could feel it. It was like thick, like it was so thick, like you could just feel it. So we talked to a few girls from your show. And I had so much fun. Listen, like I talk about Bravo because it's fun for me. I don't need to pick sides.
Starting point is 00:20:38 Of course I have my people that I'm like, oh, they're my favorites. And that's someone I'd probably friends with, whatever. Well, I interviewed somebody from your cast, Jenn Aiden, and I've talked about Jen in the past. I think Jen is fun TV. I think she leans into her role. She knows how to like create some conflict. And I think that it's like a fun thing to watch, right? There's been times on my social media where I'm like, oh my god, Jen Aiden is a fucking whack job on this show this week and people will laugh for it. But then there's times where I'm like,
Starting point is 00:21:07 I think Jenn Aiden's great TV. She's so funny, like whatever. And then people would be like, I can't believe you like Jenn Aiden. She's another one like, people get really worked up about. They really don't like her on social media, right? So when I was like, oh, she's fun, I'd get all this shit.
Starting point is 00:21:21 Long story short, I met Jenn Aiden, we interviewed with her. I'm not gonna be rude to her at all. I have no issue with her. So I sat and I asked her questions. We talked. I actually think her husband cool guy said hello to everyone just really nice, right? So I talked to him. I met her mom, gave her a big hug, took a picture with her mom like whatever. So Jen and I were cool. Then I went on your podcast and I talked about Jen, like I just said my piece on what Jen is. I think that Jen gets to involved with you and Teresa stuff. I think that that's too much of her storyline, whatever.
Starting point is 00:22:05 But I'm not talking shit about her, like saying she's horrible, she should be off the show, whatever, just talking about what I see as a viewer, right? Well, then a little bit after that, she DMed me. And she has every right in the world to DM me because we all do. We're all real people and we can whatever. But the way that she DM me was so passive aggressive,
Starting point is 00:22:27 it just felt like somebody trying to put someone else in their place, just kind of like you watch your mouth. And I said back for it, because I don't deal well with that. Like, Jen, you're not bigger than me. I'm not bigger than you, whatever. I just said, I was like, Jen, I don't really know what you're talking about. I'm talking about what I see on the show.
Starting point is 00:22:44 I don't have an issue with you. There's been times when I watch the show where I think you're fun and there's times, not whatever I said. Well, the way she came back, she wanted a fight. And I think if she just came to me, like, first of all, she could have avoided it, right? Said nothing, but like, I was a dick.
Starting point is 00:22:58 He talked about me or whatever. But she could have just come to it and been like, hey, I really liked you when I met you in person. Like, I wish you didn't talk about me on Melissa's podcast. And I would have been like, Oh, well, I have no issues. I was just blah, but the way she came out, I felt like it was like a little bit of an attack. So like, I snapped back at her. I was like, Hey, Jen, you don't need to do that. What are then she got nasty? It just I ended the conversation there. She kept going. I said to her, I was like, Look, Jen, I gave you a benefit of the doubt, but you're clearly exactly who you are on the show. You're looking for an issue here.
Starting point is 00:23:26 I don't have an issue with you, like whatever. And it just wasn't cute. And she kept going, I stopped reading just because I didn't want her to see the scene thing. Like, you know, on DMs, it'll say scene, like when you've read it. So I just stopped reading or whatever. She was trying to get a rise out of me.
Starting point is 00:23:40 She wanted me to probably start going at her. And I'm not going to do that. I don't have an issue with her, you know, right? Well, that's exactly what happened to me at Rob O'Connor. It was like, try to get a rise out of us to make an issue to like, because we had a situation and to make it some big thing that it never was. But I'm so sorry if this caused any drama for you, Justin. That's terrible.
Starting point is 00:24:01 You know, I love you and I love who you are. So I would never expect like, I think you're the the but you're so adored by so many people so it's silly that that happens you it's silly it was just like disappointed but the bottom line the thing is like the way that I finished with her is just it literally it's like you are exactly who you are then on the show like you're trying to pick I'm not gonna fight with you I don't we're not on a show together this isn't in film I I don't hate. I don't have an issue with you. Like, I actually, if I saw you again,
Starting point is 00:24:27 like, I'd give you a hug and be like, hey, what's up, Jen? Like, whatever. But I'm talking about the show and what happens on the show and that's what I witnessed as a viewer. The other thing is like, with a lot of this stuff, it's like, one week you could be like,
Starting point is 00:24:38 oh, that housewife is annoying me. The next week you love them, whatever. I always, because of who I am, I really try to come from place of love. I really love everyone. You know, I don't need to put people down from the sidelines. Right. So I am very aware of that kind of dialogue
Starting point is 00:24:55 that happens about Bravo people. And I don't want to be a part of that conversation. So it just kind of, the whole situation was just weird to me. It was odd. It sounded a little weird. Oh, wait, well, anyways, speaking of Bravo Con, did you hear it's in Vegas this year? Yes, that would be so much. I mean, it's just going to make it like even crazier just being in Vegas.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Well, do you love that or hate that because I'm not going to lie. When I first heard it, I was disappointed. Like, I wanted it to, I like it in New York. Like I happen to like it in New York. I just feel like New York is a vibe. Everybody's walking around. First of all, it's in my backyard when it's in New York. I'm like, Vegas, what? Like we got to play the Vegas. For self-wrestling, you love it.
Starting point is 00:25:36 I understand that. It's just, I am selfish reasons for wanting it to be in New York. Are you going to come again? It's so funny. I don't want to say no. I'm telling you right now. I'm just like, that was a really intense experience for me to be in that robber world. You know, it's like.
Starting point is 00:25:52 I would go. Yeah, I probably go back like with Teddy or like if there was something else to do like. But sitting in the room all day like I did and saw all of that stuff happening, it was a bit too much for me. I mean, I saw Housewives fighting right in front of you. I saw Vicki and Teddy get Vicki Gumbelson and Teddy get into it like right in front, like literally screaming right in front of me.
Starting point is 00:26:14 I was like, if they filmed this, it would be such good TV. But it was like a lot to be in the mix of it all. But who am I kidding? I'd go again. It was fun. I love you. You would go. You would go. You
Starting point is 00:26:25 would go. At least you could sit back and laugh at it. You don't need to be stressed, right? Because there's no one there for you to like stress with. So I feel like you should come again. I like seeing you there now that we, and listen, Vegas is going to be a party. Like it's going to be it'll be totally fun. And Eric Cajain has her shows going to be out at that time. So I think that's great for her. Oh, she's going to be sold out every single night. It's going to be a thing. She is going to kill it out that that was a shock to me. Were you shocked that she was doing a Vegas show like I came out in nowhere and I'm so happy for her. I actually love her. I was so shocked and I love her too. I get a lot of hate for that too when I kind of I when I defend her and say that I like her. I think
Starting point is 00:27:03 she's great. And I think of course she would do that because Erica is a survivor. Like she is just going to keep pushing through. Look at the end of the day, like she got screwed whether or not, whatever side you pick with that whole situation, she got screwed over by her ex-husband and she shouldn't have to pay for that forever. She's allowed to succeed and do big things. So I hope she just has huge success with that. I really like her a lot. I do too. Like personally, I really do. She's
Starting point is 00:27:31 always been. We've always just gotten along really well. I think she's great. What are you feeling about Vanderpomp? Did you see the leak trailer? Yes, I did. And it's so crazy. Like last week, I was getting to a point where I was like, okay, I'm over this now. Now I feel like we've seen so much of it that like I don't even want to see the reunion, but I really do. But I was kind of like getting a burnt out on it. But then all of a sudden there was just like there's these new resurgence of like these conversations that are coming out and it's reminding you how crazy all this was that it was being filmed and nobody had any idea and we're kind of piecing it all together. So I don't know why this is so big
Starting point is 00:28:09 other than the fact that it's like one of the most shady things we've ever seen on TV. Like when I was talking about people online are like, oh, but La La is cheated and Kristen's cheated on stuff. It's like, but it was never like this. It was never like so sneaky behind a back for so long. Rachel, Rick, Rick,
Starting point is 00:28:28 and Arianna were supposed to be really close and she's doing that to her behind her back in her home for all that time. Like it is dirty. It's low and dirty. So it's just, of course we're gonna be shocked. And this wasn't just a quick one off. Well, for me, it's also the course we're gonna be shocked and this wasn't just a quick one off. Well for me it's also the fact that like you're both on the same freaking reality show.
Starting point is 00:28:50 It's not even like okay it's her friend but it's her friend who's not on TV or it's her friend who nobody really knows or like it's that your guys are on a reality show together faking this whole situation and probably winking from the side of the room like Breaking cameras in the room like Ballsy as shit like I obviously there's cheating that goes on in the world And I know these every you know it goes on, but I think it's the reality It's not even that it's just a friend right because I feel like that happens too It's like you picked the friend that that is on the reality show together. And then you are literally acting on the reality show. Not to be. It's just.
Starting point is 00:29:32 It's crazy to me. It's like, well, I think that there's got to be something really. I don't know on it knowing you're on camera because some people would also be like holy shit I'm being filmed right now like I need to kind of end this. This is gonna come out at some point right But it's like the fact I think that's also what's so crazy the fans It's like I think she's getting off on all this and now there's clips coming out where she's like giggling And then there's these things that she says to sand of all Where it's like she's enjoying this you know, where it's like she's enjoying this. And it's like, that's the scary part of reality TV fame, right? Because it's like some people can get very famous
Starting point is 00:30:14 for all the wrong reasons. And it's like, you have to realize that you have life beyond this. She will forever be that girl. Like, it's cute and funny that Teresa flip the table years later, right? You know, it's it's it's a fun TV that Lisa Rina smashed the thing, but it's like this is what she will be known forever is like doing something so dirty on camera and kind of just laughing it off. So I think it's sad. I think it's scary to be. Well, what it does is it kind of anchors you into the reality TV show that you're on and you're just really not a lot of growth for those kind of characters outside of the show.
Starting point is 00:30:55 So it's like you remain the star of your actual show, right? And you're the known one and you're the name they're saying, but like when the show is over and outside of the show, is where you kind of fall a little bit short because like that's what I've noticed from the one who are such big, big, big characters on the show and do the crazy things. You know, I just, it's hard when the show actually ends to kind of pivot because you're just known as a very specific type of person. Does that make sense? No, absolutely totally. I mean, I just don't know how you recover from that. You just, at that point, would have to really lean into it. But then, like I said, it's like at some point, the show ends, and then that's just who you are to the whole world. And that is a bummer.
Starting point is 00:31:40 Right. How do you feel about the PR team of Tom and Rachel? I mean, how are they doing? Right. How do you feel about the PR team of Tom and Rachel? I mean, how are they doing? No, I think that Bravo got like handed a pot of gold with this whole thing, you know, it's like because it's everywhere I mean just the other day I was I the view was playing when I was in a hotel the other day and they were talking about it on the View they asked Jennifer Loan saw that I And it was so I feel like she was uncomfortable Jennifer Lopez. She's like, do I answer? Like, do I, do I say I watch? She was probably uncomfortable because she was afraid that they were going to ask her about southern charm and the whole a rod thing.
Starting point is 00:32:13 Oh my God. Right. Southern charm. I forgot about that. I totally forgot about that. Yeah. I have a little pit or something just about that. She was like, we're not to disgusting Bravo today.
Starting point is 00:32:25 Thank you very much. No Bravo, no Bravo. I mean, Bravo goes beyond all that because my whole world was in Hollywood and I worked with all those celebrities. And my favorite thing was when I would be working the celebrity who would talk Bravo with me. And a lot of them are, you know, it's fluff for them. It's fun to watch it. Some of the biggest
Starting point is 00:32:46 celebrities like they love the talk housewives. So they know, they know what's going on in the bravo world. Oh, they all know it's crazy. Because a lot of them, it's kind of like they're way out, you know, they like to watch this, like when they're in their trailers, when they're in their stuff, their replays, it's a lot of the bravo shows, you know, so believe it or not, I've come across huge stars that I would their and their stuff, their replays. It's a lot of the bravo shows, you know, so believe it or not, I've come
Starting point is 00:33:07 across huge stars that I would have no idea. And they they would like know every word, which was always insane to me when that happened. On display with Melissa Gorga is brought to you by progressive insurance.

Starting point is 00:34:35 situations. I need to talk to you about hair because obviously you're the hair God. This DP you talk to me about it because everyone's actually really, really interested in it. Give me a little bit about it and tell me about a little bit. So DP who is my brand, I was a hair colorist forever in Beverly Hills and I always knew that I wanted to have my own product line. So years ago, I started a product line. DP hue, which stands for do professional hue. We just needed like a cute little name, you know, that looks good on.
Starting point is 00:35:09 I was going to ask you what it stood for. I wasn't sure. Okay. I never want, you know, this is a business thing, but like I never wanted a product that was my name, because if you ever go to sell your company, you, it's hard to sell when the product is called your name, because then they'd want you with the product, right? So that's kind of like a strategic move. I never wanted to sell when the product is called your name because then they want you with the product right so that's kind of like a strategic move I never wanted to have like the Justin Anderson brand because then it's harder to sell the company if you ever wanted to later in life But all of our products take care of like any color needs so like hair color fades It starts to turn brassy if you're really a bright red color It'll start to fade after some so all of my products are created to keep your color
Starting point is 00:35:47 lasting really long and to kind of change things within your hair color like if you're a brunette and you have highlights and it pulls red. We have a product that will take the red out of the hair and make it more of that sandy tone. We have a full line of like at home glosses that you can re gloss your hair at home. I have tons of products for blondes
Starting point is 00:36:05 because I did a lot of blondes in Hollywood. So they're all to take care of your color, but then also we have all kinds of products that even if you don't color your hair, you can use. But we're constantly launching new products, really products that like when I was in the salon, I was seeing like, when I was really working in the salon, I was seeing like 25 women a day. So I was having 25 conversations with women about their
Starting point is 00:36:29 hair color. And I was hearing all of these things that people would complain about that would happen with their hair in between salon visits. So I was taking all these mental notes of products that I wanted to come out to take care of those specific needs. So we've just been consistently putting out new products that take care of different issues with hair. And now we're available in all ultra beauty stores. I think there's like 1500 ultra beauty stores nationwide. So we're in all stores, ultra beauty.com. We're killing it on Amazon.com now our own.com Nordstrom. So we're really expanding going into Canada and the UK. So the plan is to really expand the business
Starting point is 00:37:08 and that takes up all my time now. So I'm not doing hair anymore. There was a point where I wanted to go and do like my favorite, favorite celebrity clients like I fly back to LA and do it, but I can't do that anymore. The having a business really takes up all my time, you know. Well, everybody, so it's products
Starting point is 00:37:25 that you can use at home that we could actually gloss our hair or is it full like cover the roots die? So we have a root touch up kit that you can cover your own grey roots at home. It's salon quality hair color that
Starting point is 00:37:36 we had made in Italy. It's exactly what I used in the salon to cover all of my clients grey hairs. And the whole kit comes with everything you need to cover like right where you specifically need to. I think people should always still go to a salon to get a look created and to get your hair color done.
Starting point is 00:37:52 But there's things that you can do in between salon visits to keep your color looking really good. So like our root touch up kit that covers gray hair, it's really made for like right around the part or right down, right around the hairline or right down the part. Like right where you would see it. You can just cover that area and it's permanent, but it's it's salon quality hair color so that when you go back to your
Starting point is 00:38:13 Your stylist they can still color through it. They can highlight through it. So it's not like that really bad unhealthy stuff at the drugstore. So we have that we have the glosses that you can actually gloss your hair at home. We just came out with a new product called the glossy glaze. So it's like a quick shine gloss so it adds insane shine to your hair in the shower with just like a hint of color. So let's say that you had like some like kind of like highlights going throughout your hair. You could use like the golden blonde or the a sheet she blonde that would add like a hint of ash that would kind of tone your highlights and then add tons of shine to the hair. So all of our products have like real specific things. And there are all things that like I would use on my celebrities. You know, there's all these tricks that like we would do, you know, Jennifer Aniston, if I colored her hair and then a month later, she had like a movie that she was doing, but she wasn't quite ready for her highlights to be done yet.
Starting point is 00:39:08 There's little tricks that I could do to make her color look really, really bright for a photo shoot. So I've created products like that. Like we have Brightening Powder. It's a powder that you mix in the shower, put it on your highlights and it pulls off all the build up. So like there's hard water in everybody's water and like products put build on it.
Starting point is 00:39:24 The story of my life, especially because when I get my highlights all summer, the brassiness and the build up. So like there's hard water in everybody's water and like product put build story of my life, especially because when I get my highlights all summer, the brassiness and the build up and the hard water and jersey, you have no idea. So like all my products take care that stuff so that you don't have to go to the salon. I know how expensive it is to get your hair done, you know, and it's like there's all these things you can do in between going back to keep your hair looking amazing. That's why so many celebrities hair looks amazing all the time because the style is just take better care of them. I would go to my celebrity clients house. You know, two weeks after coloring it to do little tweaks on their hair to make sure that it looked perfect when they had a photo shoot or even if we knew they were going to be photographed a lot by the paparazzi. There's little tweaks that I can do to the hair to make it look perfect. Every time they would have a red carpet event, I would always re gloss the hair
Starting point is 00:40:11 so it would have a ton of shine on the carpet. And that's what my new product, the glossy glaze is. It creates that gloss that you can do at home to really make your hair shiny. See, that's all made like the gloss. I, it's all about upkeep, right? So it's those little in-between. That a lot of people don't do if you're at home, right?
Starting point is 00:40:31 You're not constantly going for that little, I need my ash to come back all the time. I'm like, I need a little bit of ash, you back. But you know how it is? Yeah, when you leave the salon, your hair color looks perfect. And then a couple weeks later, it starts to fade a bit. It doesn't mean that your hair color is bad. That just happens with hair. You know, color
Starting point is 00:40:48 starts to fade products that you use to mess up the color. Our water is really bad for our hair color. So these are all little tools that you can use at home to keep your color looking really amazing. Right. I mean, what just a quick tip from Justin, what's like the biggest no no right now that you're seeing people do with their hair? Is there anything you're seeing that you're just not liking? One of
Starting point is 00:41:12 my biggest things is like I think people over shampoo their hair. You know, I think that we've been taught since we were little kids. It's like every time you get in the shower, you should shampoo your hair. What we don't realize is that shampoo is a
Starting point is 00:41:23 detergent. So it'd be like taking your favorite t-shirt and throwing in the washing machine every day. It would start to break down the material of the t-shirt. The t-shirt would start to fade. So I don't want people to shampoo every single day, but I do realize that some people need to clean their hair. You know, I go to hot yoga every day so I sweat a lot.
Starting point is 00:41:43 I can't just skip a rinse in the shower. So I have a product called the ACV rinse. And it's like an apple cider vinegar based rinse that you just put through your hair. And it cleans away any sweat or too much oil, but it doesn't suds up and dry out the hair. Like people are really doing a lot of damage by damp-puing so much because that's pulling all the good oils out of your hair and then you blow dry in style and it's just frying people's hair. So I think people should use that rinse as much as they can in between shampoos. Does that make sense? It makes so much sense
Starting point is 00:42:17 and because it's true and I try to not shampoo my hair more than like twice a week. Is that good? That's good, right? That's really good. That's really good. But a lot of people are like, oh no, I have to shampoo every single day. I'd have so many people who would be in my chair when I'm doing hair and they're like, my hair is so dry. What can I do? And I'm like, how often are you shampooing? And they're like, oh, I shampoo. Yeah, pretty much every day. And I'm like, well, that's the problem. And then they always say to me, they're like, but my scalp gets so oily. I have to shampoo every day. And I say your scalp is oily because you shampoo it.
Starting point is 00:42:46 Your scalp is freaking out. So it's over producing oils. This probably sounds gross, but like I could go a month without shampooing my hair because it doesn't produce a lot of those like greasy oils, right? Because I don't over shampoo. Wait, do you know I'm going to go exactly to this part of the podcast
Starting point is 00:43:02 and play it to Antonia because she insists that she has to wash her hair every single day. And she will show me, she's like, look, like I get oily fast, like I have to, my hair is not like yours, mom, because I can go, I could probably go a week too. I mean, I'll, it won't look like, you know, it'll be dull, but like I can probably, I can go a a while and Tonya feels like she has to wash her hair every single day or she feels like oily. So maybe the vinegar you said in between. Yeah, I'll send you the vinegar for her to try and it really is this thing like you kind of got to retrain your scalp to stop over producing those oils because if you're shampooing a lot, it really is a thing your scalp starts to freak out and starts producing a lot of oils because it's afraid of drying out Right like our bodies take care of itself
Starting point is 00:43:47 So it's like if you if you washed your face multiple times a day like you probably start to get dry flaky skin Right like you're doing too much to it our scalp is really really sensitive So if you pull back from the shampoo and just kind of do the rinse as much as possible and do a shampoo like a treat Like do it like once a week you shampoo or even get to a point where like every 10 days and do a shampoo like a treat, like do it like once a week you shampoo, or even get to a point where like every 10 days you do a shampoo, but just use the rinse when you want it to feel kind of clean. It really rebalances the scalp.
Starting point is 00:44:14 And it's all for hair. I need that for Antonia then, 100%. And I'm glossing my hair in the shower. I want the ashy gloss. I need this as well. I need all of you have amazing hair, by the way. You have like the best man hair. I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying I'm not saying you have like a little bit, I don't, your voice doesn't sound that off to me, but I know you had the best. I was screaming so loud for Taylor Swift. It was the best concert ever like unbelievable. Like, I'm such a big Taylor Swift fan, but like the energy in that stadium and like Taylor Swift fans are just really nice happy people. So it was like for me, it was just all these happy people in the stadium. It was such a good time. I had such a blast. So it's like for me it was just all these happy people in the stadium. It was such a good
Starting point is 00:45:05 time. I had such a blast. So it's everything that everyone dreams that it's going to be. It's amazing. It was like even better than I ever could have imagined. It was like unbelievable. It was such a good time. What was your favorite song? She performed. What was like the best one? Well, I'm like a super freak about her song all too well, which is like a really like sappy love song that they say was written about Jake Jill and Hall. So when she did that one, everyone in the stadium was just like singing along to all the lyrics. It was so beautiful. And then I love enchanted. I'm such a love sick, like romantic. So I love all the like really like love songs. And then it's fun. She does the big
Starting point is 00:45:42 numbers, you know, like you need to calm down and shake it off and everyone's just dancing and having like a really good time. Taylor is a fabulous person. I actually got to spend time with Taylor. She has like her fourth of July party every year. Like, remember when it was like all the celebs would go to her fourth of July party. There'd be always like paparazzi pictures. Yes. Well, one summer I got to go and I spent the weekend at Taylor Swift's house. And I was like, yeah, it was like the coolest experience ever But I have to say like she's the coolest person ever like just really freaking smart really down to earth and really cool So for me like knowing that about her and then seeing how big and how wildly famous she is like she just really has her shit together
Starting point is 00:46:22 You've never seen Taylor go off the rails She's just a really good person and like a really good oh my god I'm a super fan. Listen to her. You are. I love it. So you need to do her hair. If you're going to go back to work for hair at all, we're going to have to do tailors. That's great. Well listen Justin, I can't believe how quick the time flies when I talk to you. I say this all the time. I really love that you came back on. So much fun with you. You know I absolutely adore you. I talk to you. I say this all the time. I really love that you came back on so much fun with you. You know, I absolutely adore you. My fans adore you.
Starting point is 00:46:49 Everyone loves you so much. My whole family just wants you to come to Jersey, to my back, to my fourth of July party. So I would love to do that. I would love to. I love your family. Now I've gotten, I'm friends with people and your family on social media.
Starting point is 00:47:04 So like we're gonna be family. We're gonna be friends. Yes. Yes. Yes. Alright guys, make sure you guys all follow Justin on Instagram because he's interesting. You are so funny. My favorite thing you've done recently.
Starting point is 00:47:15 I just want to put this out here. I laughed and I'm not kidding. I laughed and I watched it seven times. The friggin salad one with the piece of lettuce that you did recently. Oh my goodness. I just giggled, I'm not just saying it like I giggled out loud at the way you said it and then it cuts to that you're like, no ma'am, no. You said, well how annoying is that?
Starting point is 00:47:39 She's trying to push that off as a chip. It's like that's not a chip. You're like, this is not a chip. I was dead. No, you aren't hysterical. So all my listeners make sure you follow him on Instagram and make sure you check out some of his DP Hue products. They're online. They're in store. They're everywhere. Justin, I love you.
