Starting point is 00:00:47 Christmas. I am so excited. Like I'm sitting here like, what took me so long to do this? I mean, it just has. Everywhere I go, people tell me they love sprinkle cookies. They hold up signs saying, team sprinkle cookie.
Starting point is 00:01:16 Everywhere I go, they gift me sprinkle cookies. If I go to appearances, no matter what I do, they gift them to me. They send me, they tweet me pictures of them, they Instagram me photos of them. I mean, it's just insanity that it took me this long to kind of, you know, develop the perfect sprinkle cookie that I love and that I'm able to share with you guys. So it's finally here. If you haven't heard about it, I don't know where you've been. But you can get them in time for Christmas at sprinkle by mg.com.

I am just so excited. If you order them by the 19th, you will have them in time for Christmas, for your Christmas parties, so that you can bring whoever you want a sprinkle cookie for dessert. I mean, don't you know that's the way to go. You got to bring the sprinkle cookies for dessert. They're going to make everyone happy. I promise. With that being said, I feel like there's the way to go. You gotta bring the sprinkle cookies for dessert. They're gonna make everyone happy, I promise. With that being said, I feel like there's no better guest to have on today when we're talking about sprinkle cookies
Starting point is 00:03:51 and food other than one of my absolute favorite guests to have. I've had her on the show probably, it was probably about two years ago now. The episode was an absolute hit. So I cannot wait to welcome her back today. She's one of the biggest names in the fitness and health industry. She's a celebrity fitness trainer and she's one of the most educated health gurus out there. Ladies and
Starting point is 00:04:16 gentlemen, I have the lovely Jillian Michaels on today. Hi. Hey, how are you? Good. How are you? I'm so excited to talk to you today. Oh my gosh. Thank you so much for having me back. I am excited to talk to you and that we were having a little, everybody a little behind the scenes chat.
Starting point is 00:04:35 MG here was at our Basel. I was. Are you feeling fresh, homie? You know, I'm feeling a little run down. I'm not going to lie. I'm feeling a little rundown. And my listeners know that every year I do like this Christmas weekend with my sisters and my cousins.
Starting point is 00:04:53 It's like a thing we do every year. So it happened to be this weekend as well. So not only did I fly back from Miami, but then I felt guilty missing the cousins weekend that we do for Christmas every year. So I ran to the city yesterday on top of it. I'm shocked, Jillian. I'm shocked.
Starting point is 00:05:11 But you know, this is the holiday season. You look fresh. Okay, good. Well, it is what it is. You are one of my favorite guests, honestly, to have. Everyone loves when you're on. I am such a nosy girl when it comes to like nutrition and food and what should I eat? And I know I ask you, I overload you with thousands of
Starting point is 00:05:30 questions. Oh please. I love it. Thank God. I like when the questions are in my wheelhouse. I've been dragged so far out of my wheelhouse lately. It's like heaven to be, you know, have questions that are in my strike zone. Hit me with everything you got. Oh, you know, I'm gonna ask. You know, I end up, guys, I DM Jillian sometimes, random pictures of creamers and things, because I'm always like, is this one good?
Starting point is 00:05:54 Is that one good? Everyone went so nuts over our creamer talk the last time for their coffees. They were so invested in like the right creamer. Oh my God, the organics that we were talking about. For those of you who might have missed the last episode, let me just ask you this again because it was so great. Honestly, why is buying organic so important?
Starting point is 00:06:18 Do you truly recommend it to the top tier? Does it matter? It does matter. Is it perfect? No, it's not perfect. But it is considerably better than the alternative. And it's also about prioritizing your organic dollars. So for the person watching who may feel that it's just far too expensive to buy groceries as it is, and organics is just one more layer of inaccessibility due to cost, I would say prioritize those dollars on meat and dairy,
Starting point is 00:06:54 and then you can buy produce from what's called the clean 15. In other words, fruits and vegetables that require less pesticides, herbicides and fungicides. These are things, you can Google it in a few seconds, but these are things like oranges because they have a rind that's really thick so they're less susceptible to insects and pests, what have you, versus something like a raspberry that's not organic because it's more heavily sprayed with different chemicals and crap.
Starting point is 00:07:26 So you could buy from the Clean 15, you wanna avoid the dirty dozen. And then if you're eating junk food, in my perfect world, you would do it 20% of the time, meaning 20% of your calories, the food that you're eating is junk food, it's processed crap. Right. But when you buy the processed crap, if you could buy the organic processed crap.
Starting point is 00:07:50 So if I could just expand a moment further as to why. I was going to say, is there organic processed crap in the world of body? There is organic crap. Yes. So the first thing with organics is it isn't necessarily what you're getting. It's what you're not getting so You could argue even though you would be wrong But you could argue because I've heard the case made that in organic raspberry versus a conventional raspberry has the same nutrients or a piece of grass-fed grass finished organic beef will have the same nutrients as a
Starting point is 00:08:24 conventionally raised cow who's eating genetically engineered corn and soy. Okay, that's simply not true because the soil that that raspberry is grown in when it's sprayed with chemicals is depleted. There's no nutrients in it. And the cow is getting its nutrients from the things it's eating, so it's going to do far better with regard to nutrition for your body when it's it's eating, so it's going to do far better with regard to nutrition for your body
Starting point is 00:08:46 when it's eating things like grass that it's evolved to eat. But even if we negated that and said, Jillian's crazy, it's a lie, we tested this raspberry and that raspberry, and they're the same, fine. On the raspberry that is not organic, you are getting a host of chemicals and crap that are bad for you.
Starting point is 00:09:04 So without question, when you buy organic you're paying for what you're not getting. So in that piece of beef you're not getting hormones, growth hormones and unnecessary antibiotics utilized for growth in the cow. You're paying for what you're not getting and then when it comes to crap, I'm sorry, I'm just rambling. Stop me at any point. The fruit loop debate or the fruit loop issue, I don't know if you've seen this in the health zeitgeist at all with RFK and what have you, but the argument that people are making about fruit loops here and fruit loops in Canada.
Starting point is 00:09:43 What's wrong with fruit loops? Please tell me. Well, everything is wrong with Froot Loops, but if we were talking about organic version of crappy breakfast cereal versus Froot Loops, when you look at countries like Canada, their kids are getting different Froot Loops than your son. And here's what I mean by that.
Starting point is 00:10:03 So in places like Canada or the EU, they are using petroleum based food dyes. So here you're getting like red number 40 and blue number whatever the heck and yellow number five. And that's all petroleum and coal tar, right? Right. Whereas in these other countries, they're using things like fruit juice to flavor those cereals. So again, it's about what you're not getting. Is it still ultra processed crap? Yes. Is it still void of nutrients? Yes. But there's a host of other chemicals that aren't
Starting point is 00:10:37 being added to that processed food that you can strip away by spending on organic. Now, of course, I would rather our kids have different breakfasts, but if 20% of the time he's having Froot Loops, organic versions of that are going to be better. Got it, so it's like prioritizing your organic dollar, basically. Bingo, yes. Let's prioritize the organic dollar,
Starting point is 00:11:02 because that's what we... 100%. So you're gonna say number one is definitely the dairy and number two is meat or vice versa I put them right together I would like to live a little in fruits and vegetables well then the fruits and vegetables you can get away with if you buy the clean 15 those don't have to be organic if you buy the dirty dozen so the dirty dozen are things that are thin skinned that require more chemicals And just to really put this in you're never gonna want me back just to put this in love it all keep Okay, girl. Oh, I also want to know which the worst thing like it would what fruit is it the strawberry?
Starting point is 00:11:37 Is it the blueberry? What's the absolute worst one? They're all anything thin-skinned leafyy greens, raspberries, blueberries, they're amazing for you in theory. But when they're sprayed with so many chemicals, so you've got chemical pesticides, chemical herbicides, chemical fungicides, and then you have chemical fertilizers. And when you've got all of those toxins, the human body is just not meant to eat this crap and to give you some frame of reference, these pesticides and chemicals are historically linked to Agent Orange.
Starting point is 00:12:17 They're chemical warfare. They were utilized in World War II in Vietnam and we had big changes in agriculture after World War II. And the long story short is like, what do we do with these chemicals? Oh my God, big egg. Let's eat them. Let's eat them. I mean, wow. You know what I have a question about? You know what I've been buying now that you're saying leafy greens? So I've been buying the, you know, it says like spring mix and it seems like it's pre-washed, the spring mix in like the, you know, when it's in the plastic container, you open it, you kind of could just put it right into your little salad bowl and it's like ready to
Starting point is 00:12:57 go. I feel like it stays green way too long. There's got to be something. Is that the worst or is that the worst, or is that okay? There are a million different factors that could go into that. If it is organic, then ideally it isn't being genetically engineered to do that, or it doesn't have some sort of coating,
Starting point is 00:13:19 or it's like apples wax coating and all this crap. If it's organic, you're avoiding that. I will tell you though, and this is nitpicking to be fair, but the sooner you eat the food after it's been harvested, the more nutrients you're going to get. So if you could buy this stuff from like a local farmer's market, you'd be doing better because the longer the
Starting point is 00:13:46 food has been out existing since being harvested, the more nutrients it's literally oxidizing. It's aging. It's losing its nutrients. So the sooner you can eat it after harvesting it, the better off you're going to be. But certain things are engineered to last forever. Whereas you go to Europe and it's like that apple sits on the counter and it's rotted in two days. Whereas here, like a year later, you're like, son of a bitch, look at that thing. It's still, it's still going. It still looks good.
Starting point is 00:14:14 Yeah, it was unbelievable. You know, it's, you should be highly skeptical of things like that, which is again why organic is a bit of a safer umbrella. Got it. I mean, Jillian, why are they allowing this here though? Like, do you have any power over there? Do you really want to ask this question? Because I'll answer it. Make them stop. What's happening?
Starting point is 00:16:31 Here's what's happening is you've got what's called regulatory capture. And what that means is that these huge corporations, whether they're big agriculture corporations like Monsanto, and these guys basically make the genetically engineered seeds because they're not natural so you can patent them. They own all the chemicals, so the herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, and so on. They sell that to large industrial farms who very, okay, they fund the research for this stuff. So it's like, look at all this is awesome. Look how great this is.
Starting point is 00:17:10 They fund the research. They shape the policy with our politicians. So from 1995 to 20, I think it was 2022, just a half of a trillion dollars, 500 billion dollars, went to big agriculture to grow these crops via policies that they shape. So for example, something called the Farm Bill. So the long story short is they're influencing our politicians. And you also have what's called through lobbying efforts, right, campaign contributions.
Starting point is 00:17:47 And then you also have what's called a revolving door of employment. So if I work for Pfizer, right, I then go work at the FDA. I then go work at Pfizer. I then go work at the FDA. Same thing with Big Food, same thing with the military industrial complex
Starting point is 00:18:04 and the State Department. So I'll give you an example that will be relatable. The guy that approved Oxycontin at the FDA, Dr. Curtis Wright, subsequently took an extremely cushy job for three times his base salary at the FDA at Purdue, the makers of Oxycontin. And that's just one example of dozens. And in fact, 11 of the last 12 people who ran the FDA worked for a big food or a big pharma company. So you've got, yeah, they're funding the research, they're shaping the policy, okay? So that's where you're getting all of this crap in the food.
Starting point is 00:18:44 And I'll give you one more example. There's something here in the States, so I brought up the Froot Loops argument, right, like in Canada it's not allowed but here it is. Why? Right. Okay, so here in the States we have a loophole in the FDA called the grass rule, the generally recognized as safe rule, and this means that the big food companies who are utilizing that coal tar food coloring, they're the ones that have to do the research on it and they're the ones that have to validate its safety
Starting point is 00:19:13 and the FDA just takes their word for it. So we have over 9,000 plus chemicals in our food, just the food, not the crap on the crops that is illegal and banned in every other part of the developing world. From there they buy the narrative through advertising dollars to any legacy media channel so they spend 70 plus percent of advertising dollars there everything you watch is bracketed by a pharma commercial, right, with people like at a picnic and It's not so you who is not a medical professional see some commercial about eczema and you're like I gotta get you can't even prescribe it
Starting point is 00:19:55 for yourself. It's so the Legacy media does not present anything negative about the drugs because their bread is buttered through Big ag big food big pharma, right? And then they engineer the environment. I'm almost done hanging there. So they do very strategic partnerships. Let's say school lunch program, right? Which is worth billions more in your tax dollars.
Starting point is 00:20:22 So we pay, we pay for the food again to go into your kid's school, to go into the hospital, to go into the food stamps program, to go into the women and children food program. So they have all of these contracts to engineer the environment, so everywhere you go, their food is omnipresent. They have a monopoly, so they shut out the competition,
Starting point is 00:20:42 and then they hire their own scientists, and I mean a multidisciplinary team of scientists, to further fuck with the food from Big Farming so that your son is effectively addicted to their cereal. And I mean, when I tell you, like you have no idea. Good lord. Good lord. Yeah. That's the answer to your question. And I mean when I tell you like good lord good. Yeah, like Like I was gonna ask you to are the current regulations in the food industry are they good is there a darker agenda?
Starting point is 00:21:16 I think you just answered that question for me I'm scared. I'm scared Right, like it's crazy. It's really the key is to be mad. And there are many ways of tackling it, but the first is to know. The second is to be pissed. And then the third is to take action in a multifactorial capacity. In other words, I have some colleagues that work in health
Starting point is 00:21:39 and they've initiated a boycott against Kellogg's. So the hope here is that if you can impact their bottom line by a percent or two, you don't have to wait for the government to get their shit together. They'll make changes now. And that's part of that whole sort of fruit loop, lucky charms debate. So we vote with our dollars, right?
Starting point is 00:22:00 We can be active within our own communities. We can demand that the schools stop bringing this stuff in. We can write our senator and say, hey, I don't like this corruption that's going on. I'm watching. I want you to do the right thing. And you can kind of look into who is doing the right thing out there in our federal government, which is few and far between. But there are, there are, and spreading the word in other words So one person you know reach one teach one, but that's that's really how we have to do it Every time you're on my podcast every time I walk right
Starting point is 00:22:34 I'm not even like you have to hear my brain right now I walk right into my kitchen and I just start throwing shit out like I start throwing shit out I did this the last time. I feel it in my soul right now. Like I cannot wait to hang up and walk into my kitchen and start throwing shit out. Like that is literally what is going to happen in about 30 minutes because I'm like, see, this is why I need you every once in a while to remind because you get lazy. It's like the last time I spoke to you, was so great for like 6 months of the hell now organic only get that strawberry out of my refrigerator
Starting point is 00:23:11 that's out of here they're not brown or organic I was like this creamer got to go everything and now I'm ready for round 2 so I'm going to go up and like switch everything pick the right time it's's definitely part of the narrative. What do we have to do to make a difference? I wanna help. Like what could we do? What could the average girl do to help to change this?
Starting point is 00:23:35 So right now, just by featuring this on your podcast and you reach a massive audience and they trust you, you're exposing people to certain truths that I... Listen, investigate it. You don't even need, like, you don't need to trust me. Do your own homework on it. Fact check it. Investigate it.
Starting point is 00:23:55 See if what I'm telling you is the truth. But here's the cold hard reality. 74% of American adults are obese or overweight. One in 34 kids is autistic. It was a fraction of that number when I was a child. Infertility is the highest ever in human history and it's going up at one percent a year. No one can get pregnant. It's like, it's insane how many people in my life I know are no longer naturally getting pregnant.
Starting point is 00:24:21 They're seeing it in real time, okay? So it's not just like well she's skinny she looks good no no that's not what it's about early onset cancer diagnosis rub 79% of people 18 to 49 over the last 3 decades and that looks like I don't know Kate Middleton Olivia mon like this is not about skinny jeans it's a much bigger fucking problem it is so that's the first part is helping people wake up and see what's going on I strongly recommend you know people love to paint RFK jr With the crazy brush, but if you actually do a little homework into what this guy is saying I believe that you will become
Starting point is 00:25:03 Deeply alarmed. I personally would encourage people to write their senator and say you expect him to be confirmed. Do I think he'll be perfect? No. Do I think he'll get it all done? No. But I do think-
Starting point is 00:25:17 But he'll try. He will try. If we make one step in the right direction versus another step in the wrong one, if we have more of the same screwed we're screwed if that I mean and I can effectively handle any questions you have about him and criticisms about him I'm very familiar with Bobby and I know I know those those arguments inside now so I can hopefully answer those questions
Starting point is 00:25:40 for you about any concerns you may have. But the hope for us right now is seeing somebody like him confirmed. And you can be helpful if you agree with that by writing your senator. Currently there's a boycott on Kellogg's. And Kellogg's is not worse than General Mills necessarily. But the idea is to strategically damage a company's bottom line so that the next guys are like,
Starting point is 00:26:03 oh shit, the public is pissed. They're voting with their dollars. American consumers are not permitting this anymore. So the more you move away from that kind of food, go to your schools and your local community, anywhere they have these contracts and ask them not to carry it. Wherever you can prioritize those organic dollars and you let your representatives know that this shit will not fly. wherever you can prioritize those organic dollars, and you let your representatives know that this shit will not fly.
Starting point is 00:26:26 It really is, and I have heard this numerous times from different experts in a host of categories that one letter to your senator is like 20,000. Because you singularly represent that many people that just didn't know how to do it, didn't take the time to write, but it isn't that complicated. Just firing off an email, like,
Starting point is 00:26:46 I am pissed about this and I'm watching, that means something. Well, so there you go, listeners. That's something you can do. If this is bothering you and you wanna make a difference, there you go, right there. Start with an email, right?
Starting point is 00:26:58 Exactly, and vote with your dollars. Okay, so let's talk about this. So you posted a really informative video a few weeks ago about Big Pharma and the concept of sick by design. Talk to me about this. So you, okay, God, I feel like you need to put your tin hat on, but I promise you that this is all- I'm ready for you.
Starting point is 00:27:22 True. Okay. So what you have is essentially something called structural violence. And what that means it's essentially a government term for the ways in which corporate America
Starting point is 00:27:38 is effectively instituting policy that is hurting people. Generally it's marginalized communities and they take the hit. Far worse, in fact, the big food companies target children of color two to one. And if you look at those programs I mentioned, like food stamps, for example,
Starting point is 00:27:55 that's where they have these food contracts. So the big soda companies make hundreds of millions every year putting soda on food stamps. So big ag has the game rigged because essentially they're getting literally billions to create calories from genetically engineered crops that have no nutrients like the corn, like the soy, like the wheat. And this is where you get things like high fructose corn syrup, seed oils, processed grains. Big food comes in and they're like, well, this is awesome. I can sell you
Starting point is 00:28:36 1,500 calories for five bucks because it's all subsidized by the government and it's all cheap, right? Right. They manipulate it like we talked about. They surround you with it. Now, you got your third player. There's actually four and that's big insurance, but if you really wanna have that conversation, you should have it with Brigham Bueller and that will be a bad day for you, so think twice. Big Pharma comes in and they're like, well, this is amazing. Everybody is sick. And then they subsequently do the exact same thing.
Starting point is 00:29:00 They fund the research, they fund the peer reviewers, they fund the medical schools. They literally corrupt every single institution of trust They fund the research. They fund the peer reviewers. They fund the medical schools. They literally corrupt every single institution of trust Including the media the mainstream media by buying off the narrative with advertising dollars and they sell you sickness Now I don't want to live in a world without antibiotics however We're over prescribed antibiotics.
Starting point is 00:29:25 It's some crazy number. I had this woman, Dr. Robin Chuck Cannon, who's a gastroenterologist, and it was something like 33% of the time you're given antibiotics, you don't even need them. And it creates a host of health problems. I don't wanna live in a world with measles or polio, but ask yourself this question, does a newborn,
Starting point is 00:29:46 and this is the nuance, people like things in black or white, it is not black or white, it's just not. What I can tell you is the intentions of these companies are profit. So here's a way to put this very simply. Ask yourself if a newborn needs a hepatitis B vaccine. Hepatitis B is something that you is a sexually transmitted disease or you get from needles. So a newborn, I highly doubt is going to inject something or have risky sex on their
Starting point is 00:30:18 second day of life. Okay, well what if mom has hepatitis B, right? Right. Well, we can test the mother for hepatitis B and if the mother is negative, why is hepatitis B on the vaccine schedule? Now, I can't tell you what to think, I can only tell you what to think about. In 1986, the pharmaceutical companies lobbied the Reagan administration
Starting point is 00:30:44 and they were given blanket immunity for any vaccine injuries. It's called like the Childhood Immunity Act of like 1986. You can Google it. It's all there. Since then, and again, I'm not anti-vax. I'm just telling you what to think about. Forty-eight more doses, not 48 more vaccines,
Starting point is 00:31:05 48 more doses of vaccines were added to the schedule, hepatitis B being one of them. Now, why does a newborn need this? I don't have an answer. I've yet to have somebody else come up with an answer, but I can tell you that it is a billion dollar business to have one vaccine on the schedule for the pharmaceutical companies.
Starting point is 00:31:23 Now, when you look at, well, how was this tested? Right? Cause there's RFKs out there saying, I want gold standard research. And everyone says, he's a liar. It is gold standard. No, it's not. He wants, let me give you, okay.
Starting point is 00:31:39 I'm going to tell you what it is. You decide if it's gold standard. So he wants a placebo control in all the vaccine trials. It doesn't exist. Not only that, if you go to the FDA's website under vaccines that are licensed in America, you find hepatitis B. I think you could look under recumbivax. I think that's Merck's. There's two of them. I think that's Merck's. And you go to the package insert, you'll see exactly what the safety trials are for this drug. So they studied 147 kids, three safety trials, 147 kids total.
Starting point is 00:32:18 They monitored them for five days after injection. And that's it. And people are like, that's not true. They continued monitoring them. It's not there. There's nothing there that says that. I mean, I have been out there looking for a different answer. I've said it publicly. Bill Ackman, who's a billionaire, has said it's not there. Now they'll monitor monitor to see if the antibody if there's still efficacy for the vaccine years later Yes So you decide like what the fuck is my newborn getting a hep B
Starting point is 00:32:53 Vaccine for on the second day of life when there's no risk at that stage of the game for them And am I really comfortable with this safety trial and the reason I bring this up is so you understand the way the system is set up and what the incentives are. And it's not that everyone's bad. There's a handful of very powerful people at the top that effectively shape this policy. 1000%. I mean, it's very clear as day,
Starting point is 00:33:23 basically how you're explaining it. I know there's like, you know, little twists and turns everywhere, but it's so frustrating. Everything's a cost-benefit analysis as well. So just as a last thought on this one is, of course we don't want to live in a world without medications. However, we'll go back to antibiotics. If you came to me and you're like, Jill, I think I have a MRSA infection, which is a a methyl acillin resistant staph aureus infection.
Starting point is 00:33:50 It's a flesh eating virus. I would be like, oh fuck, we would go to the emergency room and I'm telling you, I'd be like, you're going to need something for that. Yeah. I mean, we'd be putting Cipro in your eyeball sockets. Okay. I mean, we'd be putting Cipro in your eyeball sockets. If I, okay. Now, if you had a cold and you went to the doctor or you had a heart murmur and you went to the dentist and you got your tooth worked on,
Starting point is 00:34:12 like they'll prescribe antibiotics. Though they'll give it to you prophylactically, then you don't need it. They'll give this stuff to you prophylactically. And that's when it's like, okay, well, antibiotics have really negative side effects they disrupt your microbiome which are those trillions of bugs in your gut that play a role in everything from cognitive function to immunity to metabolism so if you
Starting point is 00:34:35 really need those things like you'll die from a flesh-eating virus you'll lose a limb you need it cost benefit are antibiotics bad yeah but not as bad as methylacyl resistant staph aureus. Are antibiotics bad? Yes. Do I need them for preventing a secondary infection when I'm healthy in my 30s, 40s or 50s? Probably not. So when I go to the dentist, they always because I am a heart patient, they always have me, any major work, do an antibiotic. Should I no longer do that, Chilene? Don't do it. Your chances are – I did it. Okay, you know who you need to speak to is Dr. Robin Sheitkens.
Starting point is 00:36:38 She's literally one of the greatest gastroenterologists on the planet right now. She's been polished numerous times. She has a fantastic podcast called Gut Bliss. We talk about this specific thing. You actually do not need it. Your chances of getting an infection are beyond nominal and they can even monitor for it so they can say like, oh, are you not feeling well? Well, then we can prescribe it in the case that you may have an issue, but there here's why they're doing it. it in the case that you may have an issue, but here's why they're doing it. So your dentist is like, well, I'm covering my ass. I don't want to assume me.
Starting point is 00:37:11 I don't want to have any problems. So here's your antibiotic. Go with God. They don't care what the downstream side effect is going to be of you decimating your microbiome, ending up with something like leaky gut syndrome, which creates systemic inflammation and looks like Hashimoto's thyroiditis, lupus, fibromyalgia. All these things. Okay, so they're not thinking that, girl.
Starting point is 00:37:37 They're thinking, I don't wanna get sued by Melissa. So take your frigging antibiotic, cause I, you know, talk to your dentist and say, I don't want this. What can we do? Okay. See, this always turns very personal for me every time we have these conversations. As it should.
Starting point is 00:37:53 That's what makes it a great show. Of course. And I always find a little trick. Okay. Well, now that we're all very aware of what, of all of this, thank you very much for that, but it is, it's important. I need to talk to you a little bit more about diet because people they want to hear it. First, I have one question for you though, because I didn't ask you this and this is
Starting point is 00:38:14 another personal thing for me. Please. There's so many choices. Tell me the true best choice of milk. This is like, oh, there's soy. No, for real. Like everyone tells me my almond milk is now going to cause cancer. Then now there's the new pecan oat milk latte at the Starbucks and I really enjoy it. Come on. Can I have the oat milk latte? Okay. Listen, here's what I would say to you. What's the best milk? Honestly, dairy, organic dairy. Real milk. Yeah, and if you're lactose intolerant, get lactose-free organic milk. Which I am.
Starting point is 00:38:52 I am. So I always have- There's zero- Okay, hit me. Hit me. Go. You're saying- That's in my fridge right now. There are two things. There's fat-free organic milk, regular for my children, and then there's lactose-free organic milk for me.
Starting point is 00:39:08 Am I doing good? You're doing great. And as long as it's organic, organic lactose-free, that's important. I hope my lactose one free is organic. They make it because I get it from my wife and my kids. That's harder to find. I feel like I don't see that one as much. Whole Foods, homie.
Starting point is 00:39:22 Take your last Whole Foods. It's right there. I'll send you a screenshot. You always think you go to Whole Foods. Yes, I got little ass to Whole Foods. It's right there. I'll send you a screenshot Yes, I got to go to Whole Foods. You got it. No, I mean and you have the means so there's no excuse for you contrary to popular belief in Fact if you look at all the human randomized control trials on dairy There's no such thing as it creates snot. This is all just the complete
Starting point is 00:39:45 bullshit and thing is it creates snot. This is all just complete bullshit. And none of that is real. Or the, oh, it creates inflammation in the body. Also not true. And if it did create an upset in your stomach from the lactose, that is not a systemic inflammatory response, if that makes sense. It's a localized reaction to lactose because your body can't break it down. They're not the same things. So if you have an issue with lactose, then you get lactose-free dairy. But when you look at all of their reputable
Starting point is 00:40:22 human randomized control trials on dairy, it shows that people have better bone mineralization, they have a lower, oh my god, jillion, lower body weight. Having dairy. What if someone wants to pick like a soy, an oat milk, or an almond milk? You totally can. And this is where, think of diet like a religion. In other words, if you're vegan and you don't want it, I understand that.
Starting point is 00:40:52 Now, if you're asking me what's optimal, I'm gonna say, listen, like when we look at the studies, it seems like this one's optimal because it has more nutrients and it will help you mineralize your bones better. It's got more protein, whatever. That said, if you are vegan or you just like the taste of oat milk,
Starting point is 00:41:07 because sometimes I like the taste of oat milk because it's pure frigging sugar, to be honest with you. Oh, that's why I love this lot. Okay, that's it right there. It's like so, it's sugar. It's just complete crap. It really is, to be honest with you. Some of the, you know, organic almond milk
Starting point is 00:41:19 is not that bad, but it's not bad. That's why I love that one so much. The key is make it organic. Go back to your golden rule of Is it a superfood? No But is it going to kill you? No if it's Not organic and it's like soy milk and oat milk It's probably from genetically engineered crops heavily sprayed lots of
Starting point is 00:41:44 Lots of preservatives lots lots of sugar, probably high fructose corn syrup in it. So this is where if you can just, if you can get it organic, you're kind of rooting out the majority of the really bad stuff. But if you ask me, like, milk, organic milk, all that stuff is just bullshit. None of it's true. Oh, wait. None of it. Is the milk that says organic milk, is it organic?
Starting point is 00:42:09 Is it better than? There are a lot of people that will tell you, well, you know, you needed an independent government agency and this and that, look over this. I'll tell you this, I've heard different complaints that it's like certain things are still loud and they're not great. They're definitely better.
Starting point is 00:42:28 They're definitely less. And even if you look up seed oils, for example, because a friend of mine bought organic mayonnaise and she's like, oh my God, it's this canola oil. And everybody is afraid of seed oils and it isn't the seed oil, it's the way that it's extracted. It's like bleached and deodorized and if you Google-
Starting point is 00:42:48 It's what they do with it. Before they actually put it in you. Exactly. Bingo. And if you Google for yourself like, well, how are they extracting the oils from these seed oils when it's organic? It's a different process that doesn't incorporate those similar chemicals. That unto itself is an example of why you would buy the organic mayo
Starting point is 00:43:12 versus the non-organic mayo, if that makes sense. Yes, it does, which it does make sense. So listen, it might not be the best, right? But it's definitely better. Better. Just like the safest way to say it. Better. You got it. What the best would be early harvest, cornice or Piqua olive oil that is pesticide free. I mean, that's like I'm living to 100. The mayo that isn't from the crappy seed oil, that's like neither here nor there. We just need to move to Italy and then we can live till 100. That's why they do.
Starting point is 00:43:50 Legitimately, yes, yeah. That's it. You got it. You gotta go there and then you're good. It's like we all just have a solution. We all need to just get citizenship in Italy and we're gonna live till 120, which would be be amazing. Okay I'm gonna talk to you a little bit more personal again about so I there's vitamins that I take right that I have seen a lot of TikToks about um and I'm just obsessed with these TikToks and like these people that say like
Starting point is 00:44:22 hi I used to work at so and so, but I got fired because I want to tell you this truth. And then they, you don't see these TikToks? I don't. They lure me in because all this nutrition stuff, I want to hear it all. I want the knowledge. So I need to just ask you,
Starting point is 00:44:41 I have like maybe four or five that I'm very invested in. Go. So, okay. So five that I'm very invested in. Hit me. Go. So, okay. So every day I take bromelain. Yes or no? It's like the pineapple pill helps for inflammation. Totally fine.
Starting point is 00:44:54 I would tell you that if you're looking for, okay, so digestive enzyme, it's great for recovering from injuries. Here's the one thing you want to make sure with all supplements, okay, that they're third party lab tested and they're GMP certified, good manufacturing practices certified. Okay, GMP. So GMP certified, so they're made with good manufacturing practices and at a place that engages in this GMP certification. And that just should provide you with some peace of mind that there's not like fucking lead
Starting point is 00:45:30 somehow getting into your vitamin. But the third party lab test is designed to make sure, hey, we made sure that none of the stuff that's not supposed to be there is not there. Now, we go back to the grass rule. In other words, there are certain synthetic fillers in vitamins that are illegal in Europe, but not illegal here, like silicone dioxide, right? Sounds dangerous. So girl, look it up.
Starting point is 00:46:09 It'll be like, no, just, you know, generally recognize it. He's popping it every morning. Generally recognize this safe rule. So there's a company that I actually invested in and there was one formulation that we were looking at and I saw it in there and I was like, why is that in there? And I went to the founder of the company and she's like, I didn't even see that. That went to you before it went to me.
Starting point is 00:46:30 And the long and the short of it is, they're like, it's generally recognized as safe. And I was like, no, this is banned in Europe. Get this out of that supplement immediately. And it was a probiotic because probiotics are so unstable. Anyway, long story short is you also want to make sure that there's none of these like, read the other ingredients. It's really important.
Starting point is 00:46:51 And you'll know. It's always that. Yeah, read the other ingredients. Cause it's like, again, it's the stuff we don't want you to have. Outside of that, bromelain is fine. I would ask you like, what do you want it for? Cause we could probably improve upon the formulation.
Starting point is 00:47:04 Like you could take. You want to know what I want it for? Yeah, tell what do you want it for? Cause we could probably improve upon the formulation. Like you could take- You want to know what I want it for? Yeah, tell me what you want it for. Cause it's not as effective for inflammation as it could be when partnered with other things or digestion when partnered with other things. So I feel like it makes my nose smaller because it takes out the inflammation.
Starting point is 00:47:25 So if I take like two of those in the morning and then another one or two, say I'm doing some like TV work or photo shoot, I feel like it takes the swelling out of my face. Am I just imagining this or is it? Okay. I would, I can't speak to it. I can't speak to it. I would tell you that there's also something called the placebo effect, which I can't speak to it. I can't speak to it. I would tell you that there's also something called the placebo effect, which we can't really quantify,
Starting point is 00:47:48 but it's very real. Meaning if you believe it's working, it'll work. If you're looking for things that are anti-inflammatory, there are great formulations with things like curcumin, right, ginger, that potentially have digestive enzymes like that. Those are really good for bringing down systemic inflammation. Isn't bromelain pineapple?
Starting point is 00:48:11 Isn't that what it is? It's a digestive enzyme that you will find in pineapple. Got it. Okay. But if you want to digestive enzymes, there are products out there that have different kinds of enzymes. So some like lactate, right? Breaks down lactose.
Starting point is 00:48:28 So different enzymes do different things. And there are digestive enzymes that people take who have digestive problems before a meal that are great. But just make sure again, that it's GMP certified, it's third-party lab tested. You've looked at the other ingredients in the product. Really important. But you think it would be okay to take bromelain every single day if you wanted to.
Starting point is 00:48:48 You're perfectly fine with it. Absolutely. Oh, well, that's good to know. It's great for after cosmetic procedures too. It helps with scarring and things like that. Bruising, right? Bruising as well. If you're a bruiser, which I am.
Starting point is 00:48:59 Hi, I'm Lauren. And I'm Chandler. Starting point is 00:49:26 your new favorite sister and celeb podcast. What about Ask? I always say it wrong, so I'm going to butcher it, but the Ashwagandha. Ashwagandha. Ashwagandha. People love this. Are you taking it solo? No, I feel like it's just on my counter and sometimes I just take it because they say it'll curb your appetite. They say, my son actually must have saw something on TikTok. You know what he said to me? He walked by it and he goes, mom, why do you have this vitamin?
Starting point is 00:49:57 It's the horny medicine. It makes you horny. I said, what, Gino? What are you talking? My son's 17. He's like, yeah, that makes you horny." I said, what, Gino? What are you talking? My son's 17. He's like, yeah, that makes you horny. And I'm like, what? Are you sure it's Ashwagandha? I mean- Yes. He's like, yes. Didn't you see that? All my friends, my friends say that that makes
Starting point is 00:50:16 you horny. I'm like, Gino, get the hell out of here. Yeah, no. No, right? I was like, yeah, I don't think you're much of a concern there, I don't think you've been much of a concern there. I don't think it would have any significant impact in that capacity, especially on its own. But I would tell you that it's kind of pointless to supplement these things like- All the time.
Starting point is 00:50:36 Yeah. One at a time even. Whereas if you got a greens powder? It's an adaptogen. So the argument behind adaptogens is they help your body naturally regulate to its environment. They help you adapt to the environment and stabilize your hormone balance and so on and so forth. You know, the environment's pretty friggin toxic. So I think these things can be helpful, but they're not solving any major problems. And I want to say like, I'm a huge supplement person,
Starting point is 00:51:05 but I want to clarify that the key word here is supplement. In other words, I would tell you, get this in an organic greens powder and have at it. I'll send you one if you want. And it's great. And I trusted the company. Like as a company I invested in called the Lion Natural. It's awesome.
Starting point is 00:51:19 I'll send it to you. But is it going to take the place of me telling you to eat vegetables? No, no, it's a supplement. So it's a safety net. In other words, the soil is depleted, right? It's over farmed. Hence the reason you might be hearing about regenerative farming in the zeitgeist. That means we're putting nutrients back into the soil. So the plant gets the nutrients from the soil. We eat the plant or we eat the animal that ate the plant. So the plant gets the nutrients from the soil, we eat the plant or we eat
Starting point is 00:51:45 the animal that ate the plant. So you've got vitamins as a safety net if you will, but taking this one off, I would say like take a greens powder that has adaptogens and leafy greens and let it be cast a broader net here. Or at least take one every day, right? Like take one every day if you're going to take it. I mean, again, it depends. So for example, we have an immunity product and or Elia has an immunity product, but you only take it if you're starting to feel sick.
Starting point is 00:52:17 If that, does that make sense? And it's, you know, all the things, garlic, vitamin C, zinc, D, all that stuff, but I wouldn't take it every day. Ashwandha yes I would take it every day if you're looking for a specific outcome but I would I would cast a wider net and take an adaptogen product or a greens powder that has it in there and another thing don't try to solve medical problems with supplements that is a dangerous game if you want to put a plus on your A lifestyle, wonderful.
Starting point is 00:52:46 But if you're like, I've got all these issues and I'm taking a vitamin, like fuck no. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Right, no, these are just like, oh, this could help with that. That's fine, I like that. I might be saying this one wrong, but I saw this on TikTok will help kill belly fat slightly.
Starting point is 00:53:03 Lie, total lie. Okay, Lysteine it's called, or is that Lysteine? will help kill belly fat slightly. Lie, total lie. Okay, lysine it's called, or is that lysine? Is that the lie? Lysine, it's a freaking L, it's an amino acid, lysine? Does it help get the belly fat? No, mama, that's a total lie. Okay. Uh-uh. No.
Starting point is 00:53:16 I just needed to hear it out of your mouth. And what about berberine? They say it's like the form, it's a healthier form of the osemic. Metformin, yo, okay, first it was a healthier form of metformin. And then it was, okay, it is nothing to do with Ozempic. That's not even closely related to Ozempic.
Starting point is 00:53:36 And we can get into Ozempic in a second, but it was linked to another drug called metformin, which has to do with blood sugar control and regulation and insulin sensitivity. There is something out there. There's some research out there. David Sinclair, Dr. David Sinclair, is a PhD, talks about berberine. But this is one where you're starting to get into, it's not going to facilitate weight
Starting point is 00:54:01 loss. If it's blood sugar control you're looking for, I would tell you go for a 10 minute walk after eating and don't eat all this crap. And the more you move your body, the less crap you eat, you'll resensitize your body to insulin far more effectively and lose weight far more effectively. So if you're taking it to help with a blood sugar issues or pre-diabetes, type two diabetes, weight loss, don't fucking bother.
Starting point is 00:54:27 No, it's not going to help you with weight loss at all. Don't, mama. Yeah, this is the... You're trying to solve a medical problem, don't. No. And you're not... This is the, I'm taking greens powder, but I'm not eating vegetables like no start with the stuff we know works move your body eat less crap and if you're really interested easy way out is there man you can make you can push an up button like I would tell you if you're really interested in speeding up your metabolism then take a pre-workout that has like green tea and capsaicin and white mulberry to you know all these different things take it
Starting point is 00:55:08 before you exercise that has caffeine in it, which is a known performance enhancer and green tea has these things called catechins and ECGC which can moderately amp up metabolism like that is the plus on the if you If you're like, I'm looking for an edge. Does that mean no berberine? Don't take the berberine. It's not kind of a waste of your money. Cause it's expensive. It's a waste of your money. Okay. I have one more question to end this and then I want to talk about some of the things that you're working on magnesium. Why is it like the crazy like, yes, take it. Yes. There's so many different
Starting point is 00:55:43 forms. I know. Which one should we be taking? I am on the one with the G. Which that one? Is that bisglycinate? Magnesium bisglycinate? Yes. That's great. Do a blend for me.
Starting point is 00:55:53 I wish I had this. This is actually something that Aliyah is working on and I don't have it yet, but hopefully I will soon. And there's a lot of pre-opausal like ladies out there. I listen, they need magnesium, no? Everybody actually could do with magnesium. The vast majority of Americans are actually magnesium deficient.
Starting point is 00:56:13 You know who's great at talking about this is Dr. Rhonda Patrick, who's a PhD. And she breaks down magnesium deficiency in such a way that like you will supplement magnesium every day for the rest of your life. It's good. So it's a good thing. We want it.
Starting point is 00:56:30 It is. Here's what you want. So bisglycinate is really good for relaxation. And it's also good for elevating your total levels of magnesium in the body. So bioavailability. It's great for that. Okay. Magnesium in the body so bioavailability. It's great for that. Okay, but the one that it's expensive, which is kind of annoying Is magnesium l3 innate and that one's really good for cognitive function
Starting point is 00:56:55 so what I currently do is I do like this glycinate one night l3 innate the next night was glycinate one night l3 innate the next night, but there's also not a lot of products out there that don't have the stuff we talked about, like the artificial fillers and preservatives that are blends. So in a perfect role, I would have this supplement and plug it right here
Starting point is 00:57:16 and send it to you, but I don't yet. So that's what I do is I take busglycinate on one night and I take Mag-L3-8 for cognitive function and brain health the second night. Then I alternate and I take them before bed. And it's always nighttime for magnesium, right? Yeah, it's better because it's helpful for relaxation. You need to let me know when you have that because I want whatever. I will send it to you. It is so freaking expensive. That's the problem.
Starting point is 00:57:42 I know. It's like we as a we it's not my company at it's this woman Sean a writers company I've invested in her company but the goal for that company is to try to make everything really cost effective and give people top quality products. But the problem with magnesium L3 and eight is that it's patented so it's really expensive and they can't bring the price down. It's like, oh my God, we'd have to charge this much money. So that's where it's like not quite there because they're trying to find a formulation that blends those two things. And there's one out
Starting point is 00:58:16 there. I'm getting way too much in detail, but there's one out there, but it doesn't tell you how much magnesium L3 and 8 in it. And it ends up being a nominal amount, which is how they do it. So cost effectively. So I would just say, right now- You don't even know that you're not getting that much magnesium all threonates in it and it ends up being a nominal amount, which is how they do it so cost effectively. So I would just say, You don't even know that you're not getting that much magnesium by taking it. Nope. No, they don't disclose it. Yeah. It's like, oh, there's this much magnesium in it. You're like, well, but how much is magnesium all threonate? Right. And they don't disclose it. Because when we sent that to our lab- Okay, so I only trust you and I want you to
Starting point is 00:58:43 tell me when you're ready which one. I'm working on it, girl. I'll send it to you as soon as I have it. But you do is all the craze right now. It should be understandably so stay away from magnesium citrate. It's like, you don't you get helpful, but it's more of a diuretic if you take too much of it. Okay. Oh, not a diuretic. I'm sorry, a laxative. Okay, this glycinate. That's the one that my sister Okay, so there's one my sister takes that she swears the whole time we were in Italy she couldn't go to the bathroom because she left it at
Starting point is 00:59:11 home. It must be that one. It is. It's magnesium citrate and it draws fluid into your bowels and it's a laxative. But you really don't- Is it bad for you? Can I give that to Joe? Because he would really like that. I would not get dependent on it in any way.
Starting point is 00:59:31 Right, that was my next question. Are you gonna eat it then, right? I'll tell you, for example, with some things, the body becomes dependent on it. With some things, it doesn't. If you started taking a smooth move tea, which is this compound called Senacot, yes, and it makes you go to the bathroom.
Starting point is 00:59:49 You stop taking Senacot, you will be backed up because your body is now relying on this exogenous stimulator, stimulus, to go to the bathroom. I haven't really looked into whether or not the body can become dependent on magnesium citrate. Maybe yes, maybe no, but I just simply think you don't want to be taking a laxative like that.
Starting point is 01:00:12 It's like unless you absolutely need to, in which case we go back to, if you're constipated, don't solve this problem with supplements. Go talk to your doctor. Right. Got you. Okay. This is like, you don't know. This is like making my life right now. All of this information. Okay. So I want to talk about you for a minute.
Starting point is 01:00:30 I recently saw that you just launched three brand new workout kits. So I want you to tell me about them a little bit. You know, it's so hard for me to make any money these days because I spend so much time bashing all the major average. I'm like, Jillian, I want to talk about you, what you're working on now that I asked you about everyone else and you told me what pieces of shit everyone is. I know. That's the problem is like you can't. So the only way I make my money is like, well, I either invest in companies I think are better for you or I, you know, I do believe in supplements. So you know, things of that nature, but I sell exercise. I believe in exercise.
Starting point is 01:01:08 I sell exercise. That's what I do. There's no negative side effects. So we were fortunate enough to partner with Walmart to create different fitness kits. So it's like a recovery kit with the stretch bands and the foam rollers and the massage balls and all those things, the Thera bands that people can use. And then we have a strength training kit that has the bands that you put under your door with a door anchor
Starting point is 01:01:32 and you can do all your resistance training. And we've got the dumbbell kit, all the at home workout stuff. And here's what I can promise people about it. It's like, well, why yours? Everybody's gonna ask why yours. And my answer, and this is what I strive for, is that, okay, why yours? Everybody's gonna ask why yours. And my answer is, this is what I strive for, is that, okay, we're gonna make it the most competitive from
Starting point is 01:01:48 a cost perspective. We're gonna make it the best quality so you get what you pay for. And then it comes with a 90-day subscription to the fitness app. And this way, when you buy it, each and everything comes with a program. So you not only get the program surrounding your product, but you also get complete access to the fitness app. So you get the meal plans, the meditations, all of the other workouts in the app. And that way it's like, how do we win here? Well, we're gonna surround it with content,
Starting point is 01:02:24 meal plans, the workout programs, the equipment. It's more affordable. It's better for you. And you care. I love it. I'm sorry. It's put together better and you can get it on walmart.com. Right at walmart.com.
Starting point is 01:02:35 I love it. Yeah, that's so cool. I love that it pairs with the fitness app as well. Thank God, yes. That's the only way to do it. Yeah, because everyone just needs an app these days. It's like. And this way, it's like it's all free. You can stream it to your TV. You can take it on your way to do it. Yeah, because everyone just needs an app these days. And this way, it's all free. You can stream it to your TV. You can take it on your phone to the gym.
Starting point is 01:02:49 There's even an in-app. We have an AI-generated personal training program for in the gym. So when you go to the gym, you put in whatever kind of workout you want for your fitness level and your fitness goals. So it's like, I've got 20 minutes. I'm an intermediate level athlete. I want a lower body workout, and you can ban equipment that you don't see at the gym,
Starting point is 01:03:07 and in seconds it'll populate a workout program for you at the gym. So it's free, 90 days, you pay nothing. Crazy, that's crazy. The world we live in, it's pretty amazing. There's good and bad, I mean. There really is, you're right. Oh, Jillian, as always, this has been a total crash course
Starting point is 01:03:24 on health, nutrition, diet, and even all the shady people that are out there with the crap food we eat. You educate me always on the best stuff. But before I let you go, you have a little special running on your fitness app. Oh, yes. Just for you, okay. Yes. You can find it online, on on your tablet on your phone. We're going to do
