He's too genuine of like a kid to be like, malicious about it. Like, I mean, I mean, he's not someone that's going to fabricate shit. Yeah. So,

What message to Hixie? That was, I didn't see it. Tell me fuck. And the camera? No, he's like, Hixie message shots. He's saying like, are you good? And he just replied with, get better.

When you, when you're trying to do was best for like a, a group thing and nobody in the group gets in that same mindset, like it's frustrating. So when somebody says, like, hey, yo, you're good.

You're caring too much. Or you didn't care like this before. Like that, like, of course it's going to be fucking frustrated. I've never seen that. And it is what it is. But, you know, shotsy, shotsie, man, he's going to do what he does, man. I thought it was funny. What sucks is looking at the viewership for the minor,

on the combined streams 170,000 peak viewers, that's a lot of viewers considering how bad the game is, like the state the game is in. Ranked is literally unplayable. No one's even play in Warzone. Everyone's playing Marvel rivals. So the fact that we're still doing these numbers while the game is shit goes to show how resilient the CDL community is.

So everyone still loves competitive call of duty. They just can't play it on a casual level. Yeah. Well, I saw a tweet that I think it said, like 50% have already left Call of Duty or something like that. Yeah, that was on Steam. I think it was some, you know, pull up that tweet, Joe. I think it was from Jake.

That's got a, that has to force their hand. Oh, yeah, right there. Lost nearly half of its player base on Steam since launch. That is, look at that. That's insane. It's just been a, it's been a slow death. I, I feel like we're not really taking into account that it's Steam. Like, that it's Steam.

Yeah, but still. Yeah, but it's not battle. Yeah, but 50% loss is still. I feel like most people play it on Steam though. Like who's downloading it on Battlenet? I feel like a lot. You think so? I feel like a lot of people.

Well, yeah, but we're all like. Those Steam Tuesdays, they ruin everyone's day. Do you think like casual players are downloading Battlenet? That's a good question. I don't think so. I feel like most people are on Steam. That's where it's like I want to see the stats for, you know, Steam and BattleNet. And this is just PC.

What? You won't see Battlenets. Yeah, I know. I know. And that's sort of the issue. The thing is like, I feel. like Steam is like a, you know, a library where you can play a whole bunch of different games. And on Steam, like, if you're downloading Call of Duty on Steam, you're going to be playing

like multiple other games, right? Oh, yeah. Like people who download and play on Battlenet are using BattleNet for Call of Duty. Yeah, the launcher. And maybe. World of Warcraft. Diablo, maybe? Diablo.

Maybe I'm grass is greener, though. But let's say, let's say you were playing like the OG MW2 or MW3 or World at war, any of those games on Steam, this early in the game's life cycle, you'd still be playing the game. Like, Call of Duty should be able to keep you around for longer than two months. Bro, it's, yeah, two months,

no matter where you download it, because there's a Squid Game collab, they've not done, they have not, what's the word I'm looking for? They've been promoting the balls out of that, even though the game is unplayable. Everyone's been piping up about that.

So they have new content, like camos and stuff to buy and all that. You just literally can't play the game. It's one of the more insane things I've ever seen happen. And hopefully it forces their hand. I don't know. Apparently there's an anti-cheat update coming in season two is what they're saying. That being said, how long does it take for the cheating websites to actually adapt to that?

Because remember when that ranked, remember when they did the update and we played a full day of no cheaters for a full day? It was like the best day of ranked ever. Do you remember that day? When was it? It was like a month ago. They did an update and the cheats didn't work for a whole day because they had to, I guess after an update. date they need to readjust or whatever. Yeah.

And it was the best day ever on rank because there was no cheaters. And then next day, right back to normal programming. So hopefully, hopefully something can be done because- I feel like it's too late now. I feel like everyone, once people are mad, they're going to dip. And then to get those people back, it's just, it's hard. It's like now that dirty taste is just in their mouth from all the cheaters and stuff. It's like, I don't understand how that wasn't, I don't understand how it's gotten

worse and worse year over year. It's like you'd think there'd be some sort of improvement, but it's just been like... I stood there, a call of duty next in Washington, D.C., a month before the game came out, and I was speaking, I'm not going to name people. These are people I truly liked from Activision, and they've always been good to me. And I said, quote-unquote, I said, this game is awesome. If you guys do not have a proper anti-cheat, it will die. And I was like, look at Valerent.

And they were like, eh, Valerant's anti-cheet isn't that great? And I was like... Wait, but... No, it's pretty good. Let me pause right there. When you say that Valorant anti-cheat or like the Call of Duty can't be the only one with cheats, right? Which means that somebody else has a better program. Valerrant.

I never hear Valeran talking about cheats or legal legends or Counterstrike. I think they're the only program or the only game that doesn't have a program that's like invasive on the computer. Okay. Call of Duty that is. Yeah. Yeah. Like what? Even face it, dude.

Like that program can monitor fucking everything. Yeah. I think the reasoning is if you download Val or CS, like it's a competitive game. So I think you kind of understand that in order for to uphold it competitive integrity, you need to download this software and everyone's like, okay to do it. I do understand if you're like a casual gamer who plays after your 9 to 5, you may be like, I don't want to download this invasive software because this game isn't competitive for me. Yeah.

So that's probably the disconnect. It just, it sucks, man. They just need to do something. Like, like, dude, I sort of got in a topic, a conversation with the Colt havoc. Where since ninja's like glitched, where sometimes you're dead silent, sometimes you're not. Yeah. Right. It's impossible to tell if someone's walling.

I'm sitting there like, until they fix this, you can't tell. I mean, you can tell. I mean, you can tell, but there's that. It's 50-50. You know what I mean? There's like hard walling, which is obvious where it's like, okay, certain distance. Well, I feel like it's always been like, actually, I feel like it's always been tough to tell. If someone's good at hiding walling, it's tough to tell.

Yeah, yeah. And then it's like, okay. But some of them are just idiots and they're just like watching you through the wall. And you're like, okay. But then there's some where it's just like they'll randomly just decide to turn. And it's like, dude, there's not just walling, right? You can have radar hacks. Yeah.

You can play, like, there's hacks where you can have like radar always on. which is, you know, and... It's not good. Yeah, with Ninja not being fixed, like, it's so tough to tell. And if I can't tell, how is the manual reviewer, right? Or how's an AI going to tell?

That poor fuck. That poor bastard was to manually review these rank clips. And then also, how are like casual players going to be able to tell. Oh, yeah. It's just... Well, they probably have no idea they're even getting cheated on. Yeah.

They probably have no idea. So then what is the solution? A good anti-cheat? It's the only solution is a good anti-cheat. An invasive? Well, like a program on your computer. Yeah. Monitors, hardware.

Yeah. And you have to have that active in order to play Call of Duty. It has to be. I just, again, look, the good thing about what we're going through right now is that, you know, some people that just started playing Call of Duty, like this is like their second, third year playing Call of Duty. and they're like, oh man, the chiefs are kind of fucking whack. Yeah. For us that have been here since Call of Duty 2. Represent.

What in the, like, we are, literally, we have seen this thing get to this point from day fucking one. And every year we put on our very excited hats to see Call of Duty succeed. And that's all we want. And we do our half. But what happens like when the community, as you saw there, like this is just Steam. So let's call Steam, what, one of the three prongs that, like, where's it distributed? Xbox, Steam. PlayStation, Xbox PlayStation.

Steam and then Battlenet. I'm pretty sure. That's one of the four, man. You know what I'm saying? And I think it's the biggest. I'm pretty sure. I mean, everyone that plays on PC has Steam. I think Game Pass might be the biggest now.

It's like a dollar and you get to play Codd now. I think Game Pass might have just blew everything out of the water. Maybe. That's kind of like a cheat code, man. Hey, we offer this service where you pay. one, I think it's like, there was a, they sold it for a dollar at least one month, but I think it's usually $10 a month, you can play whatever game you want.

Netflix used to be $7.99, now it's what? Dude, it's crazy. Like $18.99. Subway sandwich is used to be $5. Yeah, I remember that. Holy shit. What are they now? Dude, they're like 12. Aiden actually literally yesterday, did you guys see he put out like a whole YouTube video or Twitter video? And then he got on stream and he was like, I'm done. I saw Aidan on TikTok at 2 a.m. saying thanks for the rose. Did you?

I swear on my life. At 2 a.m. I was scrolling TikTok. Aiding comes up. He goes, watch this. I'm about the glitches system. I've never, it was hilarious. He has 600 viewers. He goes, I'm going to start doing the MPC shit.

Watch how quickly I get a thousand viewers. I am not exaggerating on anybody's life. Within 20 seconds of him doing, thanks for the rose, thanks for the rose, he doubled viewership from 600 to 1,400 in 20 seconds. Just by like doing those, thanks for the rose, thanks for the rose. was like there's some freaky shit going on here. Well, TikTok is supposedly gone and what is it? Five days now?

off of an original TikTok that was not paid just some dude enjoying a triple dipper and it just changed. That shit does look good though. Chili's chilies, but you know what I mean? Like just the impact that TikTok had, if you had a clothing brand and one TikTok went viral,

next thing you know, there's athletes wearing it, celebrities. Or you want to go viral. It's definitely... I know a company that said TikTok shop save their company. Yeah. I'm sure that's happened everywhere.

A lot of instances. Look at Keith Lee, the food reviewer. That guy goes to your restaurant and gives you a good review on his TikTok. Next thing you know, there's lines out the door. Like there are just, there are certain things that TikTok have done that, uh, I mean, that can work with Twitter. They can work with reels. That can work with anything.

What about them? Just, it's been very vocal about the community, how it's all changed, how no one's creating content, no one's putting in the extra step. My take on this is that the difference between this new generation and our generation is I think, no matter. if you streamed personally or not, the fans got to know you through streams in general. So we had 20 people in a call. You could watch optic play against Attach's team and you heard them in a call. Like I feel like on a personal level, all the supporters of Call of Duty were able to connect with us way more than they're able to connect with this new generation because they're just, they're not in calls together. They don't really play together. When they do, it's the same people

every night. And it's, it's the same. It's the Shotsie. It's the Drozah. It's the Dashey. It's the it's the players that you kind of already know, whereas I would say 60 to 70% of the league, you don't really even know what these guys sound like. And I feel like that's a big disconnect when the new base is unable to connect with the existing supporters and the new supporters were trying to bring in.

So I agree with Shotsie. It's a pretty... I also feel like salaries kind of... I mean, with salaries going up, I feel like that was kind of just inevitable, though. I, maybe I sound like an asshole, but eight hours is like an average workday. Like when I first started streaming, I was doing 12 to 14 every single night for over a year straight

because I think, in order to really try and separate yourself from others, you have to make that sacrifice. Just like I'm sure when you built Optic, it wasn't an eight hour work day. Everyone was doing that. What you built was not eight hours a day. It was fucking 12 to 16 hours a day.

Yeah, I was recording YouTube videos up to 6 a.m. before tournament, so I had videos for the week while we went to a tournament. And I'd argue, sure, the space is more saturated now, but there's more eyeballs on online content. I mean, these days, gaming is a lot more mainstream than it was back when you built, what you built and made and everybody. What I feel like these pros need to understand is you need to start somewhere with the content. You need to start somewhere.

And if you don't start now, right, then you're like even if you start now, it's already too late. Yeah. I mean, I don't know if it's too late. Like somebody should sit down with these guys and say make 50 YouTube videos and do 50 streams in the next fucking two months and see where you're at mid year. Yeah. Like you can't, your first video is not going to be as good as you're 10. your 10th is not going to be as good as your hundredth, et cetera, et cetera. It's, it's, man, have we not seen the history of, of call of duty?

We've been around since, for, since 2006, man, it's almost 20 years. And in those 20 years, you have seen pros come and go. You have seen some pros continue to be part of the community. Look at apathy, look at Crowder, look at Teepee, look at, you know what I'm saying? Not everybody is going to go on to have like a career in which you don't have to clock in or clock out or do shit that you don't want to. You know, like this, the biggest fear in everybody's fucking mind and heart and soul should be fuck. Man, I might have to go get a real fucking job here. It's, it's, uh, I think some people see numbers and get demoralized, which like I understand, man.

But at the same time, you can go from streaming to, to, to, to, to, 20 viewers to a month. The next month it's 40. And sure, it's slower. It's quicker for some, whatever. Next thing you know, you're in the finals of a tournament. You have 250 viewers. Some of those guys like your personality, they stick around. Everybody's on their own timeline. Look at Slacked right now. My boy Slackt goes live every single morning at like 5 or 6 a.m. He's got almost 12,000 subs. He's getting 4 to 500 viewers. That's a fucking amazing stream. Like that is a community that he's built with the same people day in and day out. Just like TP did. He stuck to his schedule. Now TPs gets 2 to 3,000 viewers a day

The same people every single day And it's a good community But it's not gonna It's not gonna happen unless you truly do it And it might take a month for some Ten months, two years But eventually if you keep your head down I think it could work

My whole thing, I'm kind of yapping I apologize It's two birds, one stone It's content but if you're playing eight You're getting better at your craft And you're building a community So it's like And right now that's the only content

that the people really want to watch because rank play is just just in a bad spot. It's like 8s and stuff and the CDL is the only stuff that you know is legitimate gameplay. Like you're playing even wagers. Like you can be getting hacked on wagers. I feel like 8s, S&D 8s and the CDL are the only things right now that are like, okay, this is a legitimate match every single time. I feel like that's why the CDL hasn't really faltered at all because that's the only thing that people can go watch for Call of duty and not hear people complaining about cheating and fucking

just everything that's going wrong with the game right now. It's like that is the only place you can go to watch high level cod that has no bullshit in it. Like ranked play like yeah you could go watch Colton stuff but they're getting cheated on and it's like yeah I think now everyone's just playing

rivals including myself like I'm not going to go play ranked right now. It's in the worst spot it's ever been in. Who would want to? I mean Faddy and Jay Lito have basically saved my passion for Call of Duty for the time being, just by playing these S&D Chows every night. Do you think you get cheated on them? No, because we do console only.

I'm the only PC player. Oh, okay, so, okay. So we make sure that's to avoid cheaters. But there's some good console kids. I meant to say this, it's crazy to me with how bad the cheating is. Last year you were able to disable crossplay. So if you were on PS5, you could play cheater-free. With the state of the game, the fact that they're not adding that back,

People will play that for a bit. and if the game is good and there's no cheaters, you have the chance to keep people around.

So it was a nice little safe haven. for all the gamers to just come and we think about the amount of new people that came in, all the basketball players, all the football players, everybody that came in for Burdansk. Now you're about to drop one of the most beloved things that Call of Duty has ever done

during the worst era of Call of Duty? Yeah, Verdansk was like literally peak COVID. That was like, that was peak COVID. Everyone was playing games. And Verdansk was like, I mean, that was like one of the first times I feel like since Fortnite released that Call of Duty was like kind of rivaling. That was a crazy time. Yeah.

I was in Warzone with Ben Simmons. and Devin Booker and Nav. I'm so, what the fuck? Does that, does that mean, does that mean that they're going to put the boys up on the, the banners or the boys up on the stadium? Oh, they should. I hope.

It is like the perfect, perfect timing, and it's a good game. Everyone's loving it.

Yeah, it's fun. Yeah, I want to bring up challengers again, because it's like one of the more insane things I've seen in my life. There is literally no path to pro. Like, I was able to convince my dad, like, hey, I have a career in this. And I don't think the current 15, 16 year olds like I was are able to do the same. Yeah. If anything, it's the exact opposite. If I was a dad and I looked at then me, I'd be like, well, looking at what I'm reading online, There's no more tournaments. The path to pro is the worst thing it's ever been. It's like, how do you have such a, it is still a big league.

170,000 viewers on a minor online tournament. We had 85. I think is massive. So it's not like the viewership's not there, but the support isn't there. And I feel so bad. I was genuinely heartbroken when this stuff about challengers was being talked about because I remember the bliss that me and Bose felt when we first place pro that climbing the ladder, that getting your name out there,

it is some of the best memories of my life. And it changed my life. Like going from that 15-year-old kid to where I am now, like that growth period of the amateur scene probably shape the player. It changed all of our lives. I feel like the tournaments. I feel like the passion's not there anymore, though, man.

It's not the same. People aren't playing for the love of the game. They're playing to try to get the pros so they can collect a paycheck. And that's not true for everybody. Right. But I feel like we were playing again in our era it was everyone was playing just because of how much they love the game.

And not till later on did it come where there was money involved. Now people are like, I want to become pro so I can get a paycheck. But that's not, it's not for everybody. I'm just saying it's so different now. So different. You have to understand that. Think about some of these kids. Think about Paco, for example.

Right? When did he start playing, Ian? Call of Duty. I don't know. 2019? I never asked him. Had to have been, right? 2019.

Think about that. When you went pro? Didn't start, but I think I think. Let's say even if he started 2018, it only took a year for him to get a mega bag as a salary when the league started. Where these guys had to go through the $2,500 a month to the $5,000 a month to. Exactly. You know, to elevate it to where it's at. It was just so, it was a completely different playing field.

Now it's like you see these dollar signs and you're like, okay. I want to get paid. I'm sure some of these young kids. I still love it, man, but it's got to be demoralizing to have no support. I mean, that's, that kind of kills your ambition in its tracks. Oh, yeah. If you're 15, 16, you're like, I love this game, but I can't even play it because there's no future. If I was a 18-year-old right now or 16-year-old, whatever age you're starting a gaming,

and I was trying to pursue being a professional in a video game, Call of Duty would not even be on my radar. I can't lie. It would be like, I want to get like, dude, look at all the other options. I've been saying to go play Fortnite. Yeah. I've been telling 15-year-olds, you're like, hey, Zen, I'm 15. I want to go going pro. And I'm going to say, listen, bro, unfortunately, this is crazy to me.

The age limit needs to, the fact that's still an 18 age limit, I was a pro at 14. Like, there's a lot of 14 through 18-year-olds that would probably turn some heads that just can't play. But I'm like, dude, if you're 15, why the fuck would you be grinding God? Go play Fortnite. You can actually make money right now. That's a great point. That is a great point because think about ghosts, right? The ghost had the paintball mode, right?

Which allowed for people to do this, to not have the blood and gore. Yeah. And if the blood and gore is the thing that's keeping people back, and the reason that Call of Duty wants to keep blood in is because it's an immersive fucking war game. Now that you've added all of the fucking magicians and the 21 savages and all this other shit, like maybe now you should re-implement that ability for parents to say, you won't see blood. You're going to see blue paint as this. I don't even think it's that.

The game is rated them. I forget who is telling me. Apparently, it's just like an Activision legal thing where they don't want to go through the necessary steps. To make it so 17-18-year-olds. Taxes? Whatever call of duty is paying out a minor, I'm sure it's probably hard for taxes. They changed the rule for you to play at 17.

I was a pro. Whoa, no, that didn't happen. I was able to play at every event besides champs from age 40. 14 to 17. I was a pro. I was going to every single event. I was playing on the main stage. I just couldn't play a champs.

It wasn't the CDL, which is a direct asset of Activision. So now they are liable because it's... They should figure it out, man. It's all I'm saying. It's not the CWL anymore where it's like this is, you know, a separately... There's nothing to figure it out.

There's nothing to figure out. CW was better. Yeah, CWL was better. But it's not like that anymore. It's now it's a fucking real entity. shit show. Yeah, it's not good. Competitively, it was a dull game. A.W. People love Sledgehammer has made good call of duties when it comes to like fundamentals and competitive call of duty. And I think one of their heads just left after 15 years. I forget his name. I saw that. But I think some of these studio heads are starting to step away now that things are in a rough spot. Call of Duty could be debating whether or not they want to really implement that.

Because I think if we're going to play PC, they're going to have to fix the anti-cheat. And if they can't do it without making you download something, they're going to have to make people downloads. It's the only way. You can't have a PC cod that's going to get ruined by cheaters every single year. Yeah. There's only, that won't happen going forward. I would 1,000% be playing on PlayStation right now if I knew that I could toggle off the fucking the PC.
