Like, you said to talk. Please, no. No. No. Welcome back to the Optic podcast, episode 121. I am here with scump and methods and maniac. All right, so how was Columbus guys? It was good.

It went a lot better than I thought it was going to in terms of like how much fun we had. I think we made it work. Did y'all ever end up at World of Beer or no? No, we didn't go to World of Beer. We didn't go to Standard Hall. We talked all that shit for nothing. Dude, we didn't have time. We literally, every day the matches were ending at like 9 p.m.

And then we were rushing to dinner because everywhere closed at 10. So matches ended at 9. We were getting to dinner by like 945. Places were closing at 10. And then we'd be there to like 10.30. And then we all just wanted to go to bed. So we didn't get to really do like anything outside of the watch party. And we did some good dinners, though.

We did have good dinners. What was it? I feel like you guys have a little. long days. Dude. Like, is that long as fuck? Like, I've done a few watch parties. And even just, like, being in that room or my bedroom or whatever, just by myself, it's

so long. Like, to actually sit there on a couch and you're, like, being, trying to be entertaining the whole, like, it's basically like a show. Like, that has to be the most underratedly tiring job. Well, when matches are shit. Right. When matches are shit, it's way worse. This is a good exciting match

And it actually gets your adrenaline bumping It's great Like when you get an optic phase Or like a thieves optic Like when you have the top teams playing And it's a good match Or even it doesn't matter if it's good teams If it's a good fun match

It's good but not all the time obviously It's kind of contingent like Saturday was the hard Or Friday was the hardest day by far Like are there matches you guys just don't really give a fuck about Just won't say their names Yeah I'll start I'll name them right now What

Anything with London I don't want to watch. Anything with Florida, I don't want to watch. Well, there's certain matches where, like, some of the teams don't even have an opportunity at this point to make champ. So it's like... Oh, really? The only entertaining part would be if they, like...

If they upset, like, if London beats like Faze or someone, you're like, at a tournament, you're like, holy shit. Like, that was crazy, but... Like, imagine if in Toronto, London just won the event. Yeah, but I don't think they can even make it anymore. No, they still couldn't make... They still couldn't make champs, but at least that would be high. I think if they won out plus won the tournament, they still don't...

That's depressing. But that's why I hate watching, because I know that I have no chance. But my favorite matches right now are like the Rocker-Vegas matches, every time Rocker and Vegas play, because those are the two teams. No, they're fighting for the eight spots. So that's exciting to watch. And no matter who they're playing. They play each other a third match of the last split.

So that'll be dope. But Vegas kind of bottled it in Columbus. Like Vegas got double first-rounded and Rocker won two matches. So now instead of it being like a tight race, it's 20 points. But Vegas have the hardest split of any team coming up this split. So, like, they have the hardest schedule. They're playing, like, optic phase, thieves. That's insane.

They have, like, by far, yeah. They have the gauntlet. Something like that. Something crazy. Yeah. But yeah, it's, uh, had some good food. Obviously, the venue. There's a lot of controversy around the venue and just, like, no fans.

And this is the one time. Oh, there were fans. Not the one time, but I do want to, like, defend the league a bit, too, because everyone blames the league for everything. But, like, this was not on the league. Like, a team. Why wasn't it? New York.

backed out for, I don't know the reason, but New York was supposed to host a major and they backed out. New York lost a sponsor that I don't think was their fault. I don't know exactly what happened, but it was like New York lost a sponsor, and then it, I don't know what happened after that, but all I know is New York lost a sponsor

before the event, and then it put them in a weird spot and then I think they just backed out. I could be wrong. See, everyone was complaining as if like something else, I mean, maybe something else could have been done, because I had no idea, but The fans made me think that they just hosted some shitty-ass event with no fans.

No, it was supposed to be in NYU. And then it fell through. No to the back-up plan. But like when it falls through, something can happen to get fans there. I feel like that's what people... Okay. What would you rather... Not at that place.

Would you have rather... No, not in the Belong Center. I'm saying... Yeah, there was no, like... They knew, like, what, a couple months in advance, right? We knew that there was not to be fans here, like, before our major. Yeah. So at that point, you can find a gym...

museum somewhere. I mean, yeah. There's probably something that could have been done. Yeah. I mean, yeah, but. Was it a little janky, though? Like, even though there's no fans, that sucks. It was a land center. It's like a land center. Really? Yeah, so they, yeah, I mean, for what it was, it was run very well. I give props to the league. Obviously, this isn't the league's fault. People were trying

to blame the league. And the league was just trying to, like, scrap everything together to just make something work because, I mean, worst case scenario, they play an online major. That would have been miserable. That would have been miserable. So at least we got to play it. That's true. Well, they got to play it on land. I mean, never mind.

Selfishly, I think we should have hosted it. Just because we actually own the- home field. Exactly. We own the arena. Boston also offered to host it at their like land center. But what would you rather? Would you rather see 50 to 100 fans in the venue or see none?

Because I think if you're talking about like a minuscule amount, it's like a debate where you can be like, eh, if there's only 50 fans going and only 50 people get tickets, it's like, what the hell? Then the chat's hosting. Yeah. The chat's like sick crowd. There's no winning with the chat.

It really depends on how you look at it. Because like if you remember all the E league tournaments, there were only like 150 people in that crowd. It's like a studio audience. And I just think. Still super hype. I just think there should be like at least going forward because of this. There should be like a backup option now for every single event

or if a team has to pull out for whatever reason. There's a good fail safe because. See, they do that for champs. The league does that for champs. Yeah. Well, champs is champs though. Right. But I mean, you have to,

I feel like you have to. to do that for every event. This can't happen again. Because like, I agree with what I've been saying. Like, I'm not going to lie. I'll be as blunt as possible. The setup that was at the Belong Arena, like the old MLG Columbus Studio looked better than that. Like that stage, granted, I understand.

And like, I'm sure they tried their best, but like, could have been a little better. I mean, like, they could have spruced it up a bit. So I understand the frustration. I just think maybe the frustration is a little bit misplaced. But because it's the call duty league, everyone's like. It's the league's job, which I get, but it just seemed like a tough situation. Like fans or not, it was still a little, like, could have been a little nicer. Like, because even in the background, just seeing other players standing behind.

I mean, I don't mind that. I actually think that's kind of cool. I don't know. Like, I kind of think, like, if you're a fan watching from home and you see, whatever. Or you see, you see J-Cat pop up from behind watching. Oh, yeah, next top. Yeah. Yeah.

That whole thing. Someone was 100 Thieves was watching behind Optic. And I see, the thing is, is like, obviously thieves are going to watch Vod of, like, respawn and stuff. The only reason why I think that's kind of, like, weird is just if they're watching search, they can literally hear your play calls. Like your strats and shit, they can hear word for word what you're saying. But like, how do you even dissuade people from doing it? They could have been standing on the other side of the monitors and probably heard their strats.

With that set up, I don't think there was a way to stop them from hearing like come. That's what I'm saying. It's impossible. Even if you had a ref, refs like, holding hands with a barrier, like they could have stood five feet behind that and heard them. Yeah, the building that we were in was not big, but I could see why, like, that would be kind of bothersome for teams.

Because, like, you don't want people to hear your literal search calls. You know, like, that's where it gets weird. But overall, I like the event. I thought it was a good time. We made it work. The watch party went well. Yeah, watch parties are always great. I mean, just, like, the amount of people actually tuning in,

there was a debate on Twitter. I mean, like Mr. Adam, with Adam Appicella and some of the people. Yeah, I saw that. One of the reporters Jacob was like, we need to stop reporting on peak viewership. I'm like, why? Like, what's the, that's cool.

Like, if we had 300,000 people tune in, like, his argument was like, oh, but it doesn't mean anything for advertisers. Who gives a fuck? It's cool. We had 300,000 peak viewers at one point or 270,000 or something. Damn.

Why wouldn't that mean anything for advertisers? I don't know. I feel like that literally. That's insane. Yeah. Yeah. But it's crazy how much all the watch parties have helped Call Duty. Like it's a mixture of Twitch, our watch party, Zuma's, everyone's watch party now,

a bunch of big creators. Like it's a lot of fun to like be a part of obviously. And just like see how much support. I saw a stat that like Call of Duty e-sports is the only Eastport growing in the West right now, which is like an insane stat. Like we're the only Eastport growing. Hell yeah. I mean, God was kind of down, wasn't it?

God was kind of down, wasn't it? This year did kind of... I mean, YouTube was... Like, the last few games were pretty... Oh, yeah, it was on YouTube as well. Well, they need to fix the hackers and ranked immediately because everyone's complaining about it now. And this is the first time it's finally happening.

And it's like... It was happening kind of in the first season, but now, like... Now it's way worse. Everyone that I've talked to just says how bad it is. I don't even want to fucking waste my time and just get mad. Like, I'm going to literally play, play hackers and just get mad. And that's been one of the... fun things for everybody.

Like, I've loved playing ranked. I've liked watching rank. Like, it was popping, and now you can just see by the number it's going down and down and down. Yeah. It always happens, though. Yeah, it does happen.

But what is it? There are very few ranked systems that have kept their pull. Is it cheaters that are killing ranked a little bit? Yeah, it's. Because once the top streamers stop playing, I notice that there's like, the hype disappears.

I feel like that's how it is with a lot of games. I feel like, but is it the, Twitch like starts dwindling in numbers for games, like the player base also follows suit. Yeah. Besides like CounterStrike. Counterstrike. Counterstrike league legends

like, but again, those are really, really good rank systems. Is it the cheaters though that are bringing? Like, right now, like rank was popping like crazy. The game is awful. Our game right now is awful. Mono for two is garbage. It's complete utter shit. But the rank system

was really good. So people would play it for the ranks. So why is it going down? Because the game is horrible. Could it be? Do you think it would last longer if there weren't cheaters? Not great, but it's not horrible. I feel like I've seen a week. Named four cod games that were worse. This game or Vanguard?

Vanguard. Okay, now here's silence. It's fair. I mean, Jesus. There's red dots. Now the sound cues do kind of ruin this, man. Wait, what is this? Is this for rank-play?

And this is the beginning of the year is the first blip, October? So that big peak is ranked ice soon? The big peak is ranked? Or is it one of the majors? No, that's in November. That's the peak is like, yeah, that's ranked. That's probably ranked there. That's still pretty, that's a pretty dope spike though.

How much is that? That spike right there is really dope. Well, we always, we always, we always, usual. We always talk about how they use ranked kind of as like an extra wave to get people to come back and start playing multiplayer. That's why they don't release it at the start of the year. And you see why.

Yeah. I never thought of it that way until you said it. I think you're right. Yeah. Which sucks. That's so stupid, man. Because we all want it off the break, but if they use it as a marketing

and advertising tool, then we're fucked. The thing that happened with Halo is like everyone was playing Halo ranked whenever Infinite dropped. Well, they fucked that, didn't they? Didn't they just not update the game? They didn't add the game. They just let it die. And they were cheaters.

Well, it came out super later. I mean, Halo's... There were cheaters. You couldn't search together. In Halo, there's a lot of problems. They did come out with ranked in the very beginning but there was cheaters you couldn't find a game if you were searching with more than two people so you never got to see your favorite pros match up that's not great that's unbelievably bad 3200 playing two hours ago i mean if you look at click like damn that's not great maybe click like

one year oh no my wait what's the click all again pro the amount this died so quick the keyboard Mouse and Key was ineffective. It was garbage. The Tifus and the Tim to Tapmans that are trying to come over and play for fun, they couldn't fucking do that. So a lot of things went into effect to make Halo Infinite die

as rapidly as it did. They definitely should have done a VR. And what am I hearing? I just look over and Rod just like this behind the monitor. Hell is calling me and why do they not know them on the podcast? I don't think. VRs obviously aren't like as popping as they were

like when Fortnite, you know, they're dying. a little bit, but I think a Halo BR could have killed it, just like that world and like I think a Halo BR is coming. That shit would go crazy. Yeah, but is it how crazy? It's gonna go crazy in the beginning,

but is it gonna do another Halo infinite? I feel like 1V2ing people in a BR and Halo would be so hard. Like how did they, I'm scared of how they're gonna make it. Like how do you do the shields on Halo? Does there auto-regen? Is there something that you get that makes it auto-regen? But they're gonna come out with,

They're going to come out with it, I have faith. They have to be. What else are they doing? So it has to be coming out. I don't know when. But yeah, how are they going to do it? Like, please, please clutch. Don't let there be cheated.

Like, be on, they have to be on top of it. Infinite is Hitscan, right? I don't really know what that shit means. To be honest with you. Hitscan is when, like, so say you have them in the center, right when you shoot it hits. There's no bullet. Oh, okay. You don't have to lead your shot.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You call yourself a gamer? You don't know what a hit skis? I used to know, but I'm with you, too. We're not nervous. I don't know any of that type of, like, intricate, bullshit. You don't have to lead your shots. So what's it, what's the opposite of hit scan?

That's why I think that's the, Lockups four was the last hit scan Cod. That's what happened with Cod is like. It's not hit scan anymore? No, once, once Warzone came out, all of Warzone is like. Even ranked and shit? Call of Duty is in Cold Duty.

Call of Duty is Warzone shrunk. I made this joke to him like two days ago. It's like, call of duty is like, honey, I shrunk the fucking Warzone map. Honey, I shrunk Terminal.

Yeah. Each map is just a smaller version of a part of a war zone map with the game is catered to, the game is literally catered to war zone. Watch, I don't even blame them because of how much money they make. Warzone was popping.

Embassy is literally in the Warzone map. Like you, I don't play any war zone. So was hydroelectric? So it was Bogra, right? Yeah. Dude, I'm telling you, they're all smaller. Is Bogra in it?

I don't know if I'm bothered me, dude, because X-Difiant, first off, shout out to X-Difiant because I've been loving, the beta just ended. But, like, as much as I would love to just text aches and be like, dude, you made a shit game. They made a good game. Like, they made a really fun. Like, they literally made, I guess, Call of Duty. I think Call of Duty's Engine would always be superior.

They just have the smooth-feeling engine. But, like, just the sheer amount of fun, there's red dots. The red-dot site just looked like cod-four. Like, they made a good game. The time to kill is a little fast. It is, but. The movement. It's still beta.

And more so the maps, like, I think the maps are fun. Like, I think, like, the maps, like, it's shocking how a game, which I'm assuming has less, way less support than Call of Duty can come out with something like that. It actually is a lot of fun. I can't lie. I hope there. I'm guessing eventually there's going to be a search and destroy in that game. Yeah.

There's some sort of game type. Oh, yeah. I didn't like the game types. I want to see a CTF back. I might go pro with it. Something. Really? Yeah, I'm sorry, an Optic X defiant team.

Like the time Seth was all in, people were go all in with like seven two offsuits. Just hope to be. They were still flop like a flush or something. I think it was a free enter, but I think if you got knocked out three times, it was like

two bucks to reenter or something. Yeah. So they didn't give a fuck about their. No, they were going. $2. See, I don't like that. Their only goal was going all in trying to get us out. But there was also money at the end.

Like if you won the tournament, so like after a certain period, they shut down the buy-ins. And if you won the tournament, there was also, I think it was like a thousand dollar dollar dollar. That's fun part. I'm still undefeated, but. The beginning was like a private game,

but just me him and Hector. In the community game, you have to. Yeah, so it was us three. It was my first ever time ever playing poker. And they never played in my entire life, don't know how to play. So in the private game, I could show my cards and my chat.

So I had like, I was, my chat was coaching me. And it was the most fun time ever. And I purposely did that. I literally didn't play on my phone. I didn't try to play because I wanted to make it like a funny thing. So that was incredible. The only thing that the one downside was in the community game,

you have to like hide your cards because we're competing it to others. And I think as a viewer, that's kind of weird to like watch someone play poker and you can't see their cards. So after every hand, I was telling them what I had. It's one of those things where it's like. And I beat him and Hector. Because they could just run to someone else's chat. You'd have to put like a three minute delay on.

Because hands that. go all the way if you bet every turn and like the turn the river the flop like one hand could be five minutes and then by the time you're at the end card they could look and they're in your chat telling you what Zinney's got I learned so quick though like I can't wait

until we have an actual like poker night because I like we need to have one just that stream it I want to see what Hitch is going to bring to the table he's been studying poker where's my robot cart that I asked for for the cooking streams we got to get that for like cooking streams poker streams because we can do it in my basement. So we could do it all for my house if we want it.

Yeah, that would be dope. Or we can do it from Hector's garage. What if you got a legit? Isn't the garage made for like poker? It's like a, or they have like a big poker section? It's made for parking vehicles. Well, you know what I mean? No, but isn't, don't be a dick?
