No, I mean, in order to be like extremely good, especially like these pub stompers, you have to like, you have to outmove the controller players. Yeah.

That's why they do all that shit. Yeah. Because they, the only way to like kill a controller player up close is if to break their ankles. Like, and that's why they're, that's why they move like that. That's what they're just like actually. Yeah, that makes sense. So, I mean, it depends on how cracked you want to get. You play Apex?

There's some things, yes. Chance the rapper's album was good. I will stand by that. But skill-based matchmaking? Houch is just looking. He's the only person. He's the only creator on the internet that defends skill-based matching.

I think he's just bored. I think so too. I think he's just looking for like some type of like dopamine like argument-wise. So it really, it's really, really that simple. These developers sit down with their data analysts. Those analysts tell them that X and Y matchmaking parameters leads to less people quitting out of matches and way less people quitting the game entirely.

What's the whole deal? That's it. That's the whole deal. So what the Jay versus Jay? Jay versus J. I don't understand how you can see this. You couldn't achieve the same average level of competition but just, can I?

Somebody said, Hutch, I agree with him on skill-based matchmaking. I don't want to play, I don't want to play like easy lobbies. That's just not my thing. I've never done that, right? That's just not my thing. I'd rather play with people who would like, are, I have fun when I'm losing, but there's a chance for me to win.

Whether I win or lose. I enjoy that too. It's more like rewarding. I enjoy that too. Same. Yeah. For sure. I don't mind playing.

How am I supposed to get better if I'm not playing against better players? It's my thing. I agree with that. 100%. Okay. Hodge is saying that skill-based matchmaking is there so that what, scrubs can play with scrubs? No, he's saying that skill-based matchmaking on the on the back end for Activision. the only reason it's there is because

that's what incentivizes people to stay on the game. That's what incentivizes because they look at the data with skill-based matchmaking cranked up and then they look at the data from old school call-of-dutyes like Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops 2 and they say more people

there's more of a retention rate on current call-a-dudies with skill-based matchmaking so they have to keep it in. That's what I just say, which is probably true. Okay. But it makes it a miserable experience. content creators. For anyone that's good.

Imagine, I mean, I think about like me in high school, I would come back from soccer practice and I would hop on a few games of MW2 and I'm pretty decent at the time winning a majority of like free for all lobbies. Yeah. Imagine if I get back from a full day at school, soccer practice and I go home and just because I'm better than the rest of the people, now I can't listen to music and play at the same time. I have to sound whore my ass off and like literally. go as hard as possible. I can't play

Call of Duty. I can't play Call of Duty like a couch game. Time the fuck out. What do you mean listen to music and play Call of Duty? In my opinion, Call of Duty is a couch game. It's not a it's not a sweaty counter strike

Valorant type game. We have to like mute out everything and just like zone in on. Like whatever I used to, I used to you know, play and talk talk with my high school girlfriend at the same time. Like this, you know what I mean? Like this and just play Well, see, that's not I know you didn't have good headset, because I usually just put it in there. Back in the day, I had the Tritons and shit.

So, like, that's how we used to play, but you can't do that anymore. It's not a couch game anymore. For a certain level of people, for the couch gamers, it's a perfect game. Because they all suck. So they're all playing each other. Yeah. Which, and it's like, I guess, I guess that's good, but, like, it just took what made Cod, cod out of it.

So that's why. I'm in the middle with you, though. Like, I like. I like the fact that there's a chance to lose. I like the fact that there's a chance to win. And people, I think people forget that there was skill-based matchmaking in the old call of duties. But it just wasn't as like, it just wasn't as insane as it is now.

Like in MonoWifer 2, it's pretty extreme. In MonoWher 2, you're not a seventh prestige player playing against a level 1 that just got in the game. That's never going to happen. And if you made, if you ever made a new account on MonoWher 2 and you hopped in, you were, you realize that because that's the only time I realized it. It's like I was on a level one account and I had been playing forever but for

some reason I had to like switch my account. And I'm only playing with new players. I'm only I'm not playing with a single prestige player. So there was skill based matchmaking. It's just nowadays the just cranked the MMR. It's it's cranked so much that it's weird that there's no reward for it. You're just kind of punished in a way

for the being good. For the people out there who don't know what MMR is. What are you saying? Oh, I don't know what it means. I don't know what it means, but I know what it is. It's a rank. It's like a hidden rank. It's like Emo.

Yeah, but it's it's a match make. It's match make rank. Yeah, it's like your skill. They have it in your skill level. I don't know what it. I don't know what M.R means or E. Okay, so it was Hutch fighting for skill based matchmaking or against it? He's fighting for it.

Yeah, matchmaking rating. Okay, so go back to it. So he's saying that skill based matchmaking should be a thing. Should be a thing. That's that's Hutch has always been pro. That's the reason. I, I went back and forth one time with Hutch. Yeah.

Debating skill-based matchmaking. And somehow it ended in Lephen, the Super Smash Bros. player, blocking me on Twitter. Yeah. So every time, every time on, when a beta comes out and every beta for the last five years. Yeah. Because he must have came across the conversation. Leffin's a smash player. And smash is so different.

you're only playing one dude. Yeah. So you never, you never want to match with a, with a bad player. That would just be boring. It would be so boring. So boring.

Yeah, that is facts. But also smash players, like they, they also don't need, there's not as many sound cues or anything like that. So they just,

they can play with music on or they can just do, it's like natural to them. Yeah. This is why I wanted it to be brought up. Why can we all agree on having a public playlist with no skill based,

skill based matchmaking, and a rank playlist with strict skill-based management. So just rank-play. That's basically leak play. Yeah, that's... That's... It's just leak-playing pubs, right? And then Hutch said that's a horrible idea.

That is not a horrible idea. It's not a horrible idea. It should always launch if... I'm never, ever going to play a pub. The only time I play pubs is when I'm playing war zone. The only time I'm playing pubs in like in 6V-6s is when the beta's out. Aside from that, I have never since Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 have... or three have played a multiplayer, like a public lobby.

Here's how Fall Guys does it. And I know it's funny to bring Fall Guys into this. But Fall Guys has a solos, duos, trios, and quads. Solos duos and trios has MMR built into it. Quads, any, it's a free for. Yes, that's good. There's no skill-based match. And that's how I think, I don't know what game type you would do it with,

maybe Team Death Match, because that's the most popular game mode. But I think Team DeathMatch. that should not have that strict of a skill-based matchmaking. Now, if you want to do it with these hard points and dominations, because you're going to, like, depending on how that works, like, you could put more, like, skill-based matchmaking into those game types. But I think there should be something that anyone can play casually. And I see a lot of people saying,

I see a lot of people saying they're like, well, I don't want to be a noob and then get into a lobby with scump. and I'm like, okay, say, say you're playing basketball and for some reason you hop on any court and every single person that's playing basketball has a potential to be on that court, what are the odds you go against LeBron? I would love to go against LeBron.

I would love to go against LeBron. One of a scrubby, like, oh my God, it was an honor. There's probably a billion basketball player, people that play basketball in the world. And the odds that you're going to play against an NBA player, like that's the same odd. Like, we all played Mono River 2. We all played Black Ups 2.

I never got into a little. lobby with scomp wait wait I never got into a lobby with with uh stainville like I never unless it was ranked play in VO2 in VO2 I got in a league play lobby I'll never forget this this was so hype but it was me Seth

Nate and I think Cap and Big T wasn't on and they were they were literally trio cute and ranked and I was on their team and then it was counting down from nine to one I swear to God and then somebody dodging the other team and then everybody you know how you could like dodge last second and then it was show everybody left

And it would show like you have seven out of eight players. Then everybody started leaving them like, no. I know it would have been your shot. Dude, I was like, no way. This is a try right here. I could have got it on the team. But I look and I took a picture of the recent players. Because you know, on Xbox, you could see like they're all in your lobby.

And I literally took a picture all their accounts like a fan. Oh, I was like, dude. Dude, how crazy is it that somebody found that clip? Yeah. And then Nate, or because, yeah, it was on Nate stream, wasn't it? Yeah, somebody was streaming it. And it was literally three seconds. They're in the lobby.

They're in the lobby, they see my tag. They see my tag. Somebody found that clip. after he, in Black Ups 4, when he got put on, when he got put on Optic, someone found that clip and said, yo, this is it in the first time he's played with Optic before.

How did someone find that? That's crazy. That is, like, it's got to be from one of Nades, like, old streaming wits and shit. I don't even know, like, stream was a thing, though, that time. Listen, and Black Ops 2, if there was a gameplay and everybody was live. That shit was crazy.

Nobody played that unless they were live. I was such an Xbox. I just looked at it, like, Xbox Live. I don't know if I told this. I probably have, but like a long time ago before I even playing Cod, like I had, I think it was PS3. Obey, Dashy. That's your name. You're right here.

And after like four hours in, because they're like, Not good at all and I'm hosting and they are getting they hated the game like by the end they were like bro this game started I'm like bro like I'm gonna be honest like these kids are sly canceling these kids are doing kids They were like they were getting a really bad like experience event and I just like I was so hard No he's against touch I noticed I was I noticed it when the kids are going so hard and I was like bro like I have to like He just said that even pro players coming into this game don't have fun playing it no because they're playing it because they're playing because they're playing skill based match making yeah hutch love skill based matchmaking

Just release fucking rank play at the same time as casual. And then just let the casuals get lucky or unlucky.

Because I cannot play pubs at all. Me either, I'll play for free just as long as it's like, let me chase something. Yeah. Like, you know what I gotta chase something. Some sort of rank.

Or might as well somebody like him play robots. Even if you put the rank, even if you put the rank in pubs, I don't give a fuck. Because then at least I could, I'd want to win. Yeah. There's no incentive to win.

That's the other thing, right? Like, why don't you give, if skill best matchmaking is here to stay, I want you to put an emblem that says how good they are. Instead of, yeah, instead of your prestige, yeah. Just have your prestige emblem, have it be how good you are. Yeah, and you can, and you should do that at the end of the match where they appear what it is. That way you don't back out and have that issue. That's why Valor is so addicting because everyone is chasing the same goal.

One, it's radium, but once you hear radio, you're trying to hit number one, everybody can see your rank. So like before you get into a lobby, you could see someone's previous act ranked before it load. So like you could like like almost like like tag it on your like profile whatever. What do you mean? So like as the lobby's learning, you see like the five players like all their agents, right? But then all you could see their past ranks in like that. So then like before the lobby loads, you could see this guy was 37 last actor or 1,000, you know what I'm saying?

Like whatever. But then I remember one time I played cryo and he was rank one and it looks so final. He spawned in. I was like, who is this chamber? He spawned in. I swear to God, this guy actually scarred me. A main on split got an ace, and he was ranked one. And then I remember I was playing with Sam and Derek, and then Sam said, this guy's cheating.

And I was like, and I was like, I kind of believe it's like, wait. That's probably way, this guy's rank one. He probably just hacked his way to number one. But I didn't know was cryo. And they were like trolling about it. And then he dropped 30 in the first half of split offense. The first half? Yeah.

Scarred me. I was like, this guy's got. I've never played split. But then like ever since that up, like my nerd side came out. I was like rank one. Like I actually like, I want to grind for that. That's why I rage every day. I'm like, bro, I can't like, it's impossible to grind with it.

I just remember that like, that, because the first ranked system I ever played was blockups two. And like, you get like the master shit pops up and you're like, oh, it's such a flex. I missed that. Fucking master, bro. But cod needs something like that where it's, it's just like one, like you could flex like a like your rank or something. And I think they even need it in war zone as well. Like, do you ever, did you ever play H1, H1, for a little bit about it? So like H1Z1 there was there was a ranked system in.
