Starting point is 00:00:00 I don't know if it's like the online era of Cod that's kind of like been the final like you know the thing that drained me like final but It's just getting on and screaming every day. It's just like not it from anymore man and I might just need a break from it for a little bit Yeah, and like and I mean like a year break and maybe I'll want to do it again but for right now like just that whole process of just screaming and trying to get good and you better the team just like just like just not sound like fun to me right now Especially on a game. I don't think I'm gonna like Welcome welcome welcome to the optic podcast episode number 39 this episode is brought to you by Better Help Away Brooklyn and Purple Mattresses. Thank you so much for stopping by. There's a lot of questions.
Starting point is 00:00:44 There aren't going to be a lot of answers. And we're just going to continue with the podcast. There's nothing to say. You guys know the, you guys know what's up by now. It's either something it is, there's something it isn't. When it is, I talk about it. When it isn't, people make shit up. All right.
Starting point is 00:01:04 What? That was such a vague response. Yeah, it was as vague as he can get. Yeah. What did you say it one more time? That was actually impressively vague. Say it one more time. It was like you like wrote it down.
Starting point is 00:01:15 No. That's freestyle. Then it'll be something. Yeah. If it's not something, it isn't. You know. Welcome. You know how it goes.
Starting point is 00:01:22 You're welcome. First topic of the day. I like this one, Matt, because you're getting political with it. You know what I'm saying? China limits young people under 18 to play. to play three hours or less per week
Starting point is 00:01:37 of gaming. It's like China doesn't want to compete in e-sports. You know what I mean? That's exactly what they're saying? It's like, you know what? Like, so wait a minute. So like, if I Amazon Prime, a system out there with game, like, how are they going to tell? Yeah, like how are they? How will they know?
Starting point is 00:01:54 Are they, they're going to know? Yeah, I know. They're going to like, fucking come through the wall plug and she'd be like, God damn. They have cameras in the walls? No, I mean, but they can throttle your internet, right? They're asking you? Yeah, he's using way too much. Go to this guy's out.
Starting point is 00:02:09 There's no way that's Netflix. I'm gonna tell you something. I do believe, and this makes me sad, I do believe that Tencent and all the other developers out there have a program within their system that allows to disable an account after a three hour of limit about that. But there's no way Tencent's excited about that.
Starting point is 00:02:33 That's what they do is make or invest in video what I'm saying is I have I mean There's there won't there will not be anybody that signs up to any of these platforms that says that their true age is their age Every dad every mom is going to be in there like there's there's there's so many ways around that I don't even know how they're gonna implement something I clicked on websites and I said I was over 18 for a long time when I wasn't over 18 I don't know which we're like what happens like what? Yeah what like you know you know just different kind like like like Disfunction Junction? Gym supplements. Gym supplements.
Starting point is 00:03:07 Gym supplements. Gym supplements. There was a. So brats. You know the optic face logo lockup that we did for the collab? Somebody said only fans. Bro, the only fan shot had me. I don't have me rolling.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Whoever came up with that? You were a genius. Call me you need a job. I don't know. So what happened, let me talk a little bit about the collab. which I'm currently wearing right now. It's very, very, very banks. I was going to say banksy, but banksy is banksy.
Starting point is 00:03:40 You know what I mean? Banks-esque. When the news leaked and dropped that I had acquired optic back, I was in my closet. I remember clearly I was getting dressed. I was naked and shit. You were crying and shit? No, I don't think, I almost cried at one point during the whole process,
Starting point is 00:04:01 but not, it was, because I'd gotten it back. Like, you know, it's crazy is that the, the, the,
Starting point is 00:04:09 the, I can't talk specifically about that, but the time frame happened to be around Optic Day. Yeah. Like, almost to the fucking day. I remember that.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Optic Day was like, it, they're like, yo, this is a possibility. And I was like, what? Out of nowhere,
Starting point is 00:04:24 this thing comes, right? Drops on my lap. Anyway, so the news leaks. I'm in my closet. Crying into my hoodies and shit. I'm not.
Starting point is 00:04:35 And a FaceTime calls through from, from Banks. And I'm like, what the fuck? I'm like, what are we? He's like, you know what we got to do? And I was like, yeah. He's like, we got to do it for the culture. I'm like, yeah, of course. He's like, all right.
Starting point is 00:04:49 They just sit. That's it. And then later he's like, yeah, we're going to do a collab. I was, oh, shit, hell yeah, we are. It's like, yeah, we know what we got to do. All the stuff is dropping is so sick, too. Yeah, I like it a lot. It reminds me of the of in the 90s when when we played Utah where the Bulls played Utah they
Starting point is 00:05:06 like independent people were doing the half and halves where they would cut off like a Mike like they did the Michael Jordan and I believe it was not Larry Bird it was a Magic Johnson. Damn those shit's price people probably actually they probably do so right what's messed up yeah well they shut them down though they shut the dude down the same way that that Nike right now is trying to shut down that that dude that has the the Air Force One silhouette. Oh cool Kai. Yeah, that keeps doing that, like the same way. It's always going to be a thing, right?
Starting point is 00:05:34 And as Nike, you have to protect your IP. As Nike, you own this thing. Like, I know how I would feel if somebody, you know, pulled off some, like, some OG variation of the logo and try to sell off their own and they're not paying the dues. Now, granted, yeah, they're paying, I don't even know how it works. So I'm not going to get too much into it. But anyway, I was excited about it just simply because we've, you know, from the beginning, it was optic, sniping. And then from there, this sort of like new iteration of of snipers came along with the trick shotters, right? Obviously tempered being a skater and then everybody else and then doing all that.
Starting point is 00:06:10 But they're the ones that took it to the next level on the trick shoting. And at the time, we were so into competitive that it was like, all right, they're this, we're, you know, 1 v. oners of sorts. Which is cool, right? Like, I mean, Gris was actually the first one that ever did like a faky. And it was in back lot as he was climbing up. up the middle story. He jumped out. He turned right.
Starting point is 00:06:34 He turned back left and then killed the guy. And I was like, fuck, I chose to. Anyway, what's been up, man? We only have you for 10 minutes. 10 more minutes. What's going on? What are you going on today? I can't say, but stuff over there.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Oh. Oh, I would tell tell you about that. Oh, it's not for, I thought you guys were doing that live. Yeah, same. No, no, no. The live ones next week, but we'll be gone. So you're doing. recording.
Starting point is 00:07:00 A recording, yeah. Oh, that's cool. That's very cool. But, yeah, that's going to be fun and I'm excited. What do you hustle about Tim the Tapman and Dr. Lupo leaving Twitch as their YouTube? That shit's going on right now because we're recording this on the second. And they're about to start playing here in like, like 30 minutes. That four, because the squad is going to be Tim, Lupo, Dr.
Starting point is 00:07:25 Disrespect and courage. It's the first time. Wow, that's a typical squad. It's a final squad. It's the first time Doc and Tim have played. Tim have played since the band. That's going to be hype as far. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:37 So people are going to re-s. That's a good combo. That's such a good combo. That's the combo. Them two are probably hilarious together, bro. Yeah. I like it when they yell at each other. That's my favorite part.
Starting point is 00:07:45 Like before all like the band and stuff, like that whenever 10, Tim, Nick Merks and Doc would play together all the time, that squad was hilarious. Yeah. And then, you know, everything happened. So I'm excited to watch that. How much you? you think he got who Tim
Starting point is 00:08:01 people asked in chat I mean I don't I have no idea but people asked in chat and they were like he probably got a lot and I was like whatever you think he got he probably got more yeah I'm not Tim dude but like Matt like what's the number for Tim where he's like
Starting point is 00:08:19 I don't you don't take that you know like how like you know what I'm saying like what big is Tim thinking well he has to think as if many years first let's go by the years how many years I don't know probably like a three year three year probably three year 35 40 million deal 4 year 12 million deal 4 year
Starting point is 00:08:35 hell no dude he got 35 see that's what I'm saying I don't know how much I'm like how much did like how much did how much did ninja how much did ninja get dude ninja made a bad
Starting point is 00:08:46 Ninja got 40 right he signed a mixer and they just he got 30 million so if ninja got 30 million at the time when ninja was ninja like like fucking super ninja and then Ninja got 30
Starting point is 00:08:58 yeah that's insane and then he got it in one dude in one year no I'm saying he got some of it and then mixer deactivated and they're like here's the 24 mil we owe you sorry wow peace we're done him that I'd have been like I would have talked to my agent been like you and he gets to sign another Twitch contract right after you it was just a great day literally like just stop make it stop that's that comes like the next day yeah dude I this guy is different this guy
Starting point is 00:09:31 I'm just going to play Final Fantasy, man. Yeah, I mean, if you think about it, I like, I respect what he did because not, like, he did what a lot of people don't do when they get the money they said that they need in order to be that, right? He literally got that money and said, I'm only playing what the fuck I want to play. Yeah. And that is what he's doing. He is literally just living. He's more like his brand is so, it's like his brand will always be that high in my opinion. It'll never be like, whatever happened to Ninja.
Starting point is 00:10:00 Nothing. It'll never be that. He was just so, he ascended so high. It's just like. He's got a golden parachute, as they say. That's good. I don't know. I'm speculating a good 23, 25.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Jesus Christ. Yeah, over three. God damn. But here's the thing, though. Here's the thing. If I'm YouTube, fuck it, man. If I'm Twitch, I don't let any of this shit happen. If I'm YouTube, I'm going to try.
Starting point is 00:10:30 probably my heart is to pay whatever the fuck I need to pay in order to get you because YouTube's going to win. We know that at some point. So if I'm Twitch, I play defense and I don't allow for that to be the thing. I don't allow for him to leave. F that. Right? But he did.
Starting point is 00:10:45 So now if I'm YouTube, I'm like, okay, how do I keep them? Because it's nothing to me, right? It's literally nothing to them. As much as they try to run a business and the P&L is a P&L, like if you think about it, like the brand equity that they are generating just by having these. players there is more than enough. Like it's gonna like it would I don't even know how to explain like when when that much money is being made on a daily basis by YouTube and that is literally nothing about a fucking
Starting point is 00:11:13 rounding error to them you don't care you just do it. Right? So I think that that like crazy I think that Fizz is out there like literally playing chess too. Imagine me like doc though and because in that squad of four he's the only one not signed to YouTube. So you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:29 because he's just remaining who's like letting him yeah because they're just letting him from from my understanding yeah I have no idea but like that shit's got to be difficult but at the same time being in the squad being like
Starting point is 00:11:41 yeah and well at the same time Doc Doc did say from what I heard that he might be suing Twitch for it oh yeah he said it on stream yeah because if you think about it the definite I don't okay look
Starting point is 00:11:56 I might sue Twitch too the input You can't say that. Just kidding. All right. All right. So the implication, right, that lies there is, look, I've known Doc since fucking 2009, maybe, 2008. I don't even know.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Okay. But if Twitch isn't saying anything and he isn't saying anything, like, there is some sort of negative sort of percentage. sort of perception that's happening towards his brand as all of this is going along. Some sort? Yeah. A huge. A huge. An insane amount. Right. So what is that? How many sponsors did he lose? And he's not signed to a platform and then no
Starting point is 00:12:42 organizations or sponsors will take a risk on him because there's always that underlying like. Yeah. And until they get some sort of clearance from whoever and whoever like unless that's a lot like I don't want to say definition of character but it is a damage to someone's character when something like that is done. And when people speak lies on you, whether they're true or not,
Starting point is 00:13:03 it has its long-term effects, right? And that will and is damaging to his bottom line, which is pockets. And in the United States of America, if there's one thing that's for sure, is business is business and it's always strictly financial. He said he knows why now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:23 He said he knows why he got banned. It turns out like a year. That just sounded like commercial. Well, no, that's Drake, right? It's like the business is, business. It's strictly financial. Oh, yeah. It's from Medusa, Medusa.
Starting point is 00:13:35 That's like the only Drake song you know the lyrics. Yeah. I think. That shit came out in 2009. Yeah. So, like, the only thing that. Yeah, yeah. Medusa head off and got me off.
Starting point is 00:13:45 This is a private community. Please get the fuck at the property. Oh, shit. Thank you. And then today, tomorrow, the new, the new, the new shit comes out. You listen to Danda, right? Yeah. You're wearing Donda shoes.
Starting point is 00:13:59 You listen to Donda? It was all right. I skipped through it. Yeah, it was crazy to me. Did you? I didn't think it was that good. You did listen to it? Yeah, I don't think it was that good.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Hosef, are you listening to it? No. Raji? No? Matt, no. Just so you guys know, Roger's going to be replacing Hitch in just a short order. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:14:19 I didn't listen to it. I didn't listen to it at all. It's just not my thing. Not that it is not the rapist of my thing. It's just that I knew that it was not going to be anything. I will say this, though, the whole circus around this drop is just like marketing genius from a genius. You know what I mean? Like, nobody wasn't talking about what happened in Atlanta for the moment in time that it was happening in Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Wait, what? What happened in Atlanta? What, yay living at the center for like, and then the actual. That was cool. Like the concert, the interactive. What, what, what? It's just kind of weird to me. I'm not going to lie.
Starting point is 00:14:59 What part? All of it. Like, I, people, it just seems like Kanye can do anything he wants and people will call him a genius. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, he put him, like, I'm not, I'm not trying to hate, but from the outside looking in, it was kind of weird.
Starting point is 00:15:13 Like, people doing circles around him, like, chanting and being a choir. And then he's laying on a mattress with a face mask on. Yeah. And with a spotlight on him and everything else is dark. Yeah. It makes for dope pictures. Yeah. But it was kind of weird.
Starting point is 00:15:26 I think that shit I wasn't like damn this is amazing I was like yeah what the fuck is going on like the only cool thing I felt that was cool
Starting point is 00:15:34 was that he recreated his house that was pretty cool yeah yeah or whatever he made it like with like Marilyn Manson
Starting point is 00:15:41 on it yeah yeah I don't know yeah but if you think about it like it's I mean we're talking about on a podcast
Starting point is 00:15:47 fucking a week later you know what it's good to talk I mean what what he's doing is a genius I don't know is it crazy
Starting point is 00:15:55 sure is it our Art? Yeah. Yeah. It's definitely art. It's definitely art. And that's what I think is the thing that's transcending above like all of this stuff. Right. I think that that's.
Starting point is 00:16:06 I mean, I'm not saying Kanye. It was just that particular one because the shit he did with the stage for the life of Pablo, his life Pablo tour. That was amazing. Like there are things that he has done in the past from like, holy shit, that's insane. I have a confession to make. What? Never have I ever listened to a Kanye song. I've never played a Kanye song on my phone ever.
Starting point is 00:16:29 What? Ever. $10,000 for, for, for, for, for, for, for Norya, I just copped it. Nope. Went crazy on that. The old never, never, never, never on my, I've never, in my phone. It's like a top five artists for me. If I, if I, if, if there's a way to track my iTunes, my iTunes, uh, playlist, you will
Starting point is 00:16:49 never see me typing Kanye. Oh yeah. Well, but it was like the click, the kind of the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, Click. Ain't nobody fucking with my click. Oh, big shot. Yeah. And then, uh,
Starting point is 00:17:02 ninjas in Paris. Yeah. That's my shit. I feel like everyone's heard that song called. Like everyone's heard of that song. Or he's like Gabe LeBrona, Billy, not to run away. I don't know. I know.
Starting point is 00:17:13 I know. I know. I know. I know. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:17:17 I, I never. All of the lights. No. Never heard gold digger? Yeah. Well, yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:22 But those, those, those thoughts, I've heard of, uh, fireworks. you train me like a fight Yeah
Starting point is 00:17:28 From the Haiti Perry Yeah Exactly the same It's the same thing Songs Songs reach a certain level Of popularity that You just hear it eventually
Starting point is 00:17:36 Yeah At a restaurant At a restaurant or something Twisted Fantasy is like My beautiful dark Twisted Fantasy is like my Top 5 albums ever You should listen
Starting point is 00:17:43 You should dead ass listen to it Have you this one And that's no Like look I wear I wear Uis right And on the same side I don't wear Travis Scott's
Starting point is 00:17:54 I was talking about this with Nick in the flycast, when was the last time you were like excited about an album? Like I haven't seen you listen to like new music in a long time. Wooten for ever, 1997. There's some good ass rap that you might like
Starting point is 00:18:12 out now. I don't know how I don't know how my brain isn't craving for it. I don't know either. When I saw like Jay Cole you'd like his, I until I saw that freestyle that he went fucking wild on, I've never heard a single one of his songs. What?
Starting point is 00:18:28 No, you have. You just didn't realize it. No, trust me. He's got some that they're like that big though. Because you like lyrical stuff and you like rap and you like people talking about real shit. He's like jikajabba jibbidabit. Yeah. You'd probably like the Griselda guys and you'd like Jay Cole's new shit.
Starting point is 00:18:47 Probably like a lot of Kendrick. There's a lot of rap. There's a lot of rapy, rapy stuff that you like. What's your favorite rap album of all time? I mean, probably take. care but like yeah that was I was like it has to be like kind of take care I like really like that album at that time take care was like every song that's a Drake album yeah views also you know how this is this is what annoys me I'm sorry to views
Starting point is 00:19:11 was good I see I listen to that out see I listen to uh views uh the I I've listened to that album yeah I listen to the album yeah I listen to I've listened to more Drake than any other new artist since nine since the 19 or early 2000 I mean you've been around us around us. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. That makes sense. The last person that put me on something was Natechat with fucking Mac Miller.
Starting point is 00:19:35 That's the last time I gave something a shot. I still haven't listened to that new album. His post-mortem album. Yeah. He's like, I'm not. All right. Once you go ahead and take off,
Starting point is 00:19:46 Roger, take the seat, please. Thanks, man. Appreciate it. Come on. Roger, Roger's going to step in.
Starting point is 00:19:52 He's got his, he's got his, he's got his iPad. Look up her parody is. Yeah, he's his iPad. with his little iPad look at his phone,
Starting point is 00:20:00 his water, he's all nervous. See, this is why I didn't want to be on here. Robert. Robert Rogers, everybody. The man behind the process? What's how, man? Welcome to the podcast. This is your first optic podcast?
Starting point is 00:20:12 Yeah. Optic podcast, first one. Yeah, I've done one, your podcast, and then I did one with Hitch. The flycast? Oh, no, his was the conversation with, which was a really good one. What are you,
Starting point is 00:20:24 did you listen to the Dundai album? You said no, right? I listened to it a little bit. Probably the best song up there is just like because the instruments is moons, personally. I just like the vibe of that. I never, I heard I listened through it, but I didn't really. Yeah. Ooh, this one.
Starting point is 00:20:40 I've never been a big Kanye fan, though. A little bit of life of Pablo, but besides that. He's funny. Yeah. So Nick, Nick Maniac Kirshner was supposed to be here today. Roger, can you tell us why he's not here and how he said it? So he texted He's saying that he was sick
Starting point is 00:20:58 And then he followed it up with It's probably contagious Yeah So I was like I wouldn't have believed them If he hadn't been acting like such a baby At sushi and right before that Yeah he was
Starting point is 00:21:10 Yeah he's like my tummy He's whining? Yeah Wait Nick was whining With his tats What With his tats Yeah
Starting point is 00:21:16 He was whining like a little girl He was talking about it Vanguard Alpha Did you guys happen to play it? Nope I didn't Why you didn't play it at all No
Starting point is 00:21:24 Don't play him I'm playing it No? No. That shit looks garbage. What about the war zone? I bet war zone. No, isn't it called Warzone?
Starting point is 00:21:31 The new one called Warzone? I have no idea. Oh, you're saying like the new Warzone. Yeah. Uh, I don't know. I don't know. You played a lot of Alpha, didn't you? I played a lot of the Alpha, mostly because Hutch and Diesel were like, yo, hop on this play.
Starting point is 00:21:46 And I'm like, all right, cool. I'll do it. I wish I could sit down and play, but unless my plate is completely free, I choose not to. because nowadays I'm choosing between my art and fucking Call of Duty as a stance right now which sucks right because obviously I love doing both
Starting point is 00:22:03 but I played it I liked it anybody that was talking shit about it is literally moronic we don't know what the multiplayer looks like the guns and the smoothness of the game was super good the Thompson was good the MP40 was fucking phenomenal
Starting point is 00:22:19 the MP 44 or what you guys call STG 44 I think STG Yeah Ooh What To AR Yeah
Starting point is 00:22:26 Yeah It was fire For me For us in Calduty 2 That was called The MP44 I'm excited for it Man
Starting point is 00:22:33 I want to play it I want to play S&D I want to go back To play an S&D I want to play S&D matches I want to play
Starting point is 00:22:38 Game Battles I want to do that I don't I don't necessarily want to play the pubs And I don't necessarily want to I don't
Starting point is 00:22:46 I hope Pub just ain't it anymore No They haven't been in for me For since CalDry 4 bro
Starting point is 00:22:51 From being honest You just need to ranked right off rip yeah it has to be a cool rank though can't just be ranked like the league like last game i'll take jvs all day just as long as i'm out planning it's any weirdos yeah so speaking of obviously the the vanguard alpha you you you you said in your retirement thing that uh in your retirement statement that you saw it and you were just like yeah this is there's a call to do that for sure i want to skip yeah what was it what about it made you want to do that happen i was watching a video it was just like a random Twitter clip
Starting point is 00:23:23 I was smoking a sig and I heard the, like, I couldn't really see what's happening in the video because the sun was out, but I could hear what was going on in the video and it sounded just like the World War II announcer and it just gave me the most sour taste in my mouth I was like, I do not want to play this fucking game again
Starting point is 00:23:38 so like, yeah, I just, I don't know I still have a bad taste of mouth about it. Yeah, but how do you, how does it feel? Obviously, this has been a weekend to you to you in making that decision. I mean, he cried the first, though. Huh? You cried. I almost did. Yeah. I almost did. Yeah, I would have. Yeah, you remember when we came to the studio the day? Yeah, Brandon was like hell of sad, so, but um yeah, I mean, I feel the same. Yeah. Yeah, I feel the same.
Starting point is 00:24:03 All right. I was. I know, no, I, I, I was. I mean, I am still like a, a little bit like sad. Obviously, one, I'm glad that you're that you're here still, right? Because like, I think that we've developed a good enough friendship. What do you, what are you looking for? I was just thinking of a joke. What was it? I don't know. No, no, you fucked me up. Like, anyway, I was, I was, uh, it's still, still, right?
Starting point is 00:24:32 Like, it's still, we're still processing that. Because, uh, I can only imagine, brother. I can only imagine what it is like to be you with your skill, knowing that you can still compete. But just like your dedication to it is not there. Yeah. I mean, over the years, it's just kind of. I don't know if it's like the online era of Cod that's kind of like been the final like you know
Starting point is 00:24:55 the thing that drained me like final but it's just getting on and screaming every day it's just like not it from anymore man and I might just need a break from it for a little bit and like and like and I mean like a year break and maybe I'll want to do it again but for right now like just that whole process of just screaming and trying to get good and get better as a team it's just like just not sounding like fun to me right now especially on a game I don't think I'm gonna like yeah and and obviously you play a lot of Valerine like still to the state and like I came in, you were playing? Yeah, it's fun as fuck.
Starting point is 00:25:23 What about it is fun? The rank. The rank? That's it. The fact that you are actually actively working towards something. The fact that you can feel final once you hit Immortal. You know what I'm saying? And that's when you're like, okay, I've gotten pretty good.
Starting point is 00:25:34 Once you get to Immoral, you're like pretty good. Have you hit Immortal? Yeah, but I'm like fluctuating. Like some days I'll get on. There's a bunch of games. You go down Diamond 3 and just go back up to Immortal. Like, whatever about, yeah, I'm like around Diamond 3, Immortal area. I've definitely gotten good at the game.
Starting point is 00:25:44 but it's just so fun because it's just like you just like, I don't know, when you go up in a rank or something, like you're shitting on other immortals. It's like, there was no rank, I wouldn't be playing it. Yeah. Let me just put it that way. What are you even playing? Warzone Rebirth.
Starting point is 00:26:00 Rebirth Island is dope, right? Yeah, I like it. Bro, I like rebirth island. That's all me and my boys from home play. Same. I love it. It's a great time playing. It's a small map.
Starting point is 00:26:08 You're not constantly like, you know what I mean? Listen, warzone's fun, bro. But I played it yesterday with Seth, Zini and someone else with Tommy. So we were four-kewed and we were just getting stream-stimed. Every fucking game. Like, even when we hired our screen, just getting stream-styed constantly. Yo, did you see what happened to Matt yesterday or today's going on a stream? The clip he tweeted out?
Starting point is 00:26:25 The collateral? Yeah. I just thought this morning. On rebirth was aiming towards the lighthouse and shot through the lighthouse and hit him as he was dropping it on the other side. So he killed, he killed the guy at Lighthouse and then Matt was like somewhere fucking dropping and got killed. Matt got off. That would have been hilarious. Just ended the stream instantly.
Starting point is 00:26:43 Didn't say a word. Matt Matt's not jaded by the by the grind of streaming yet it is a grind he still loves it if there's one thing I know about Matt is that he loves setting up streaming setups oh yeah like that is his he did he did just give me like a new one and I was like dang you really like upgraded this shit huh he I'm like I hit him up and I'm like Matt I just I told him to come and set up my
Starting point is 00:27:07 my camera and my go XLR because it was just like wonky and then when he got there I'm just like you know what he looks like he needs a break Matt can you just redo the whole thing I'll give you 500 bucks right he's like all right so I fucking left my office closed the door I'm like you want a burger he's like yeah I fucking grilled them a burger and shit brought him a burger how good was a burger matt mattie it was fire I put avocado in that shit like fucking hooked it up um but yeah that's that's his thing if anybody needs uh their gaming setup set up uh eat Matt crag on Twitter hit him out I'm kidding don't do it uh imagine I mean actually you could
Starting point is 00:27:43 make a living off of that, like setting up people's setups, that is an easy thing to do. And it seems so hard to the streamer. Yeah. To me, like, I have no idea where I even start. Yeah. He's like, I can do this in five minutes. Yeah. He's done it for a couple people like Kyle Murray, the quarterback for the Cardinals.
Starting point is 00:27:59 Oh, Matt said it. Oh, yeah, he got the good setup game. Yeah. That's kind of typical, man. That's kind of typical, man. It's kind of typical. And he, especially because he was keeping on the low, too. He doesn't even more typical.
Starting point is 00:28:12 He's like, you know, I mean, I talk about it. He does it. Oh, Kyle? Yeah. I got his shit. Yeah. He loved it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:19 So what do you think about China limiting their time to just that three hours? I mean, there's like some, what you said earlier, there's so many ways to get around it. Literally just, literally when I was 12 trying to play online, I would, I'd use my parents login. So it was like. What? Wait for what? So like, for like a PlayStation account or like an Xbox account. So like it wouldn't be limited.
Starting point is 00:28:39 So it's like literally the same thing. Like people. China they can just set it to over 18 and they're not going to be limited. Yeah, okay. So I just don't know. I honestly just don't know how they're going to regulate that. That's like impossible, right? It's impossible.
Starting point is 00:28:55 It's impossible. All right. Let's, uh, now that we have, uh, Rogers take on that, let's take a quick commercial break. Let's say hello to the sponsors and we'll be right back. Surprise. I'm back on the podcast just for a little bit though. And then you can listen to Roger talk about whatever the hell he talked. about. But today we're going to read some advertisements from the amazing sponsors that help out the

Now back to the podcast with all the, all of the very, very interesting people that are talking and also Roger.
Starting point is 00:37:37 And we are back. Again, shout up to the sponsors for sponsors. Four sponsors this week. That's how you know. That's how you know we're killing the podcast game. Baby, baby, baby. Charlie Gladden, hypothetically speaking, you all have a child who is five years old.
Starting point is 00:37:53 and he turns out to have the gift of being cracked at Call of Duty what would be your game plan approach looking into the future how cracked Roger yeah five years old and they're playing cod already yeah like frying like he's frying like he's firing like he's entering CMG journeys at like 2 a.m. and shit with his 10 credz I allowed him to get it and he's turned it into like 180 bugs
Starting point is 00:38:17 he gets an attitude with me that exactly so he's gonna move out I mean shit you kind of got a supporter Right? It's like you're going to see like a little your version of yourself I can't say no to this
Starting point is 00:38:27 It's got to be godlike Bro, I was thinking about it I'm like remember Michael Jordan like none of Michael Jordan's sons are like in the NBA Right We're gonna get to a point to Where you, when you have kids
Starting point is 00:38:39 Are gonna have a son Or a daughter who's gonna What? You don't think Probably having kids Why? That's a discussion for off stream Or off cam
Starting point is 00:38:49 No, because I fuck with kids Okay, sure Yeah, okay, let's say a little boy. Yeah, go ahead. Little boy looks exactly like you. Mm-hmm. Fucking good. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:38:59 Like better than I was. Maybe. That's the thing, though. How do you tell him? You love this thing more than anything else you've ever loved in your life. You'd fucking kill anyone and everything to make sure that he is safe. Now, listen, like, I would, I'd be happy for him, he's supportive of him, but I would do, like, little weird shit to, like, to, like, hold him back.
Starting point is 00:39:20 You know what I'm saying? Like, I would like, I would, like, would, like, hold him. him back a little bit like I wouldn't get him a scuff like some shit like yeah good luck claw yeah or some if he's still got like I'm like god damn it give him like put him on Wi-Fi or some shit let's see how nasty is you're saying so you're gonna
Starting point is 00:39:35 train him by putting obstacles in front of him yeah yeah I don't know if you're gonna make it man you can't give it too easy right yeah you gotta give him like a fake like live crowd thing I'm saying they're like throwing shit on him when he's playing and shit and screaming out and you suck yeah he's like five oh good
Starting point is 00:39:52 What about you? Five years old? I don't know if I would... Forget the age. You didn't give a fuck about his answer right there. No, no, forget about his age. Just your son or daughter. I'm going to support it.
Starting point is 00:40:05 I'm going to make sure that they're like spreading theirs themselves like across like multiple things. That they're not just only doing cod. Like they're still going to play sports. It's like they're going to be social. I'm not going to let them just completely like go full hermit. But if like that's what my... my daughter or son wants to do. Takes a hermit to know a hermit.
Starting point is 00:40:27 What if, bro, what if he's like, he's nine, right? You walk into his room and he's like, he closes his laptop. You think the worst. This dude's jerking off. But you walk up, you open it, it's fucking Adobe After Effects. And he just, he just re-edited process. And it's fucking way better. Oh, bro, I'm going to support that 100%.
Starting point is 00:40:48 He's going to be on my little pod. No, you're not. No, you're not You evil motherfucker No, oh no I'm 100% I'm a hundred percent I'm gonna
Starting point is 00:40:55 You're gonna slimm's lap down You're gonna slam his laptop Well I literally Like Matt and Hosefo I love talking about Cameras and editing And they never want to talk about that shit
Starting point is 00:41:02 Like that is like my Like my love And like my passion is Yeah shit And I don't have like Anybody to talk to Like about it Like there's like
Starting point is 00:41:12 When I worked at one of these That was like One of my favorite things About working there Was that everybody there That worked on the media team That was like Their fucking thing
Starting point is 00:41:19 And they wanted to talk about that shit. What if he was like so good that like he was like just roasting you though all day just like just critiquing you and just downplaying you're grounded you can't add it. It's like dad you shot that at 120 FPS it's I look at the light dad that's obviously
Starting point is 00:41:35 not how you do it. It's no white balance there and you're just like what? There's no white balance. I took video production. What about you? If your kid's good at games how do you encourage that? How do you like what's your plan? I mean, just support the kid.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Like, it's what you want to do? Sure. I mean, like, I play baseball, so you can play baseball too. Yeah. I mean, you got a multiple, you know. You come from this boat line. You might want to start making clothes, son. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:05 Yeah. I don't know. I mean, I, I'm just, uh, whatever, whatever live wants to do, like, we support it, right? I, uh, like, sometimes I'll walk in and she's making soaps. She's making like, whoa, I just got deja. No, it's because we literally talked about this in the other podcast, but we're we shooting it. These are the same questions as last podcast. Why are we?
Starting point is 00:42:31 Yeah, these are the same questions as last podcast. Why are we? The last podcast didn't go up because it happened on the same day that the leak started to happen. So we couldn't put that out because you retired and you were in it. Oh. You don't remember? No. Jesus.
Starting point is 00:42:45 You don't remember either? It was like before you announced everything. I was like rewere. It was like two days, two days before. Anyway. Anyway, yeah, just support it, man. Obviously, keep an eye on it. You're the parent.
Starting point is 00:42:55 You're the one that holds the rules. You know, take the iPad away, take anything away. Like, make sure that you, it's on you. It's up to you on how you raise your kids and ultimately what sort of human they end up becoming. Next question. Next question. Jackson Snavely. Jackson Snavely.
Starting point is 00:43:11 Question for the podcast. You're going on a road trip. You get one drink, one bag of chips. One candy. What are you getting? All right. That's a good one. I got mine.
Starting point is 00:43:20 Arizona iced tea for the drink. For the bag of chips, I'm going to go with ruffle, sour cream, and onion. Ooh, that shit hit. Different. Candy. Let me see, Arizona. I'll take Skittles.
Starting point is 00:43:37 Skittles? Okay, okay, okay. Starbursts. Sprite. Salsa verde Doritos. Or hot Cheetos. And. And he'd probably like Twix or some shit.
Starting point is 00:43:53 Yeah, you seem like a Twix guy. What about you? I would probably get Blue Gatorade. All right. Do that. Miss Vicki's jalapino chips and Reese's. Reese's? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:06 Or Sarpatch Kids. I, I am doing a, an Arizona peach flavored iced tea. And for my chips, I'm doing rancheritos. They're a Mexican chatt. They're so good. They're so good. Ranchita is my favorite chip since growing up. They're just so fire.
Starting point is 00:44:25 And for candy, I would probably do... Never seen you candy before in my life. Yeah, I'm not a... I never see you candy. Go in my theater room. You know what you got in there? Everything. What's you taken, though?
Starting point is 00:44:39 Play, like a Snickers. Okay, that's respectful. Just like the Snickers bites. I know you're right. That's what you have the garage. Yeah, you see it. You see it. It's like Halloween type candy.
Starting point is 00:44:50 Yeah, I do. have Halloween, just like a little snackable. So I'm like, because I never finished a full bar and it just sits there and melts. I'm like, I'm good. That's what I'll do. Milky Valkyrie, since moving to Texas, have y'all adopted any tendencies from the people in the state or different taste in food talking driving music, et cetera? Oh, that's a good question. I'll start it, okay, because I'm, the one thing I have adopted since I've gotten here is waving to everyone, waving at everyone.
Starting point is 00:45:19 I'm driving, I'll wave, I'll wave, I just wave. You never had that? I had that in Cali, too. No. It's like, I don't know. Just happy. Just like everyone's like, hey, how you doing? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:29 If you walk by someone like the apartment. Say, good morning, good afternoon. Hello, hello, yeah, yeah. All right, do that, you? No, I don't happen to me. No, I know, but what, have you adopted anything? Have you done anything differently? Sure, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:45:43 Not wearing masks? That's a good one. Not wearing masks. I got here, took that shit off. Yeah. My Uber driver gave me a dirty look. Look, he said, what the fuck? Bro, I picked them up.
Starting point is 00:45:54 Remember I picked up from the airport and you have your mask on you get in? I'm like, yo, you want to go food? Yeah, cool. We get up. I park. We park at the Frisco Diner. Shout out Frisco Diner. We sit down.
Starting point is 00:46:05 We walk in. He's like, hey, he's like, hey, you want to eat in there? And I was like, yeah, why? He's like, yeah. I'm like, no, you don't want to? We don't have to. And he's like, no. So we left.
Starting point is 00:46:14 But then after that, we just went to a different restaurant and start. Wait, what? So were that freaking out? Yeah. Well, because you had just gotten there from L.A. Oh, so I was thinking like, we can't go to a sit down spot. Yeah. Oh, yeah, you're right.
Starting point is 00:46:24 And here we're like, and here I was high five my waiter. Yeah. What the fuck? That's good. Yo, you know what's crazy is that? Think about, like, call it three years ago. We used to go bowling a lot. And we used to eat like fucking finger food without washing our hands after putting our
Starting point is 00:46:42 when you explain it that way. Yeah. This is hella random. But you know, I don't know why I just started this, but the hotel, you know, right by the stable center shit yeah yeah yeah yeah i was there by myself probably like two months ago and i go to the downstairs restaurant i'm sitting there eating and got a few drinks i'm just sitting there on my phone bullshit at night no this was like during the like i was just staying at the hotel yeah so i come down i'm eating and shit don't know and then the lady's like and then i think you have
Starting point is 00:47:08 a good day yeah bye bye and before i'm about to walk away she's like oh she brings back my shit she's like oh i covered your bill by the way i'm like the hell like think about how many people she sees in LA so I'm like okay thank you well like why oh it's the J.W. Mary yeah she's like no one's been as nice as me as you were as you were to me today so I thank you I appreciate that Cali people are really so what would she was what were you you don't talk to random people yeah no it's like yes I mean she's a good no she's older lady but she was cool I was like thank you guys she still look good as an older lady no not you type just like he's like No, she was not attracted.
Starting point is 00:47:48 Just a normal lady. But yeah, it was a random story. Just, I gas me. People in Cali can be rude, bro. People were yelling at me to put my mask on and shit, right when I were like, come in. When I was in the mall, I was some ladies, like, you don't got to wear that. I was about to say, I wanted to say, mind your business. More than that.
Starting point is 00:48:08 Like, you're just sitting in the middle of the mall screaming. You don't want to wear that? Bro, coming back from L.A., I ran into Karen. I had a Karen moment No bullshit I put my laptop and my iPad On a tray and I push it It's one of those belts
Starting point is 00:48:23 That just takes it It goes away And when we got to the other side Right She was there where her son And her son was having problems Getting the guitar Through the thing
Starting point is 00:48:33 The guy behind the belt says Take the guitar And take it over there I hear him This kid's a moron And it's not And then he's like I can't
Starting point is 00:48:45 He's like, I can't. It doesn't fit. So he's arguing with the dude. And then the mom says, sir, what do you want him to do, Karen? What do you want him to do? Because I just take it over there. She's like, thank you kindly, sir. And then she said, that's how you talk to people.
Starting point is 00:48:58 That's how I heard her say that. So I'm like, boom, I put it through. I go on the other side. I get to the other side. They're already on the other side. I go to grab my, my laptop. And then she's like, are those yours? Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:49:09 And I'm like, I look at them and I'm like, she's like, are those yours? And then the kid's like, mom. And I was just like, I just shake my head. I'm like, I just put my shit away and I just go. But I was thinking about it. I'm like, man, I should have been like, man, this is my first encounter with you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:27 I'm like, oh my God, you have the fucking haircut. She had the haircut. She had the little, the little, fucking short. I'm boarding first, ma'am. I need to go. No, but yeah, I had my first encounter. That's so weird. Her son was dressed pretty shitty too.
Starting point is 00:49:42 Like, I don't, I don't know. You know what I'm saying? What I'm saying. What I'm saying is like, you can't judge a book by his cover, you know? I was wearing, he said his age. I'm like, ha, I started cutting her up. No, I just, I was just, I, I almost, I'm almost glad that I didn't think about it in the moment because I was just like so just ready to get the fuck out of L.A.
Starting point is 00:50:02 That I just didn't even think about it. But it was good. It is, it is what it is. All right. Last question. And let's move on. It's safe to say that this is the hardest year to be Akad pro mentally. Not only because the internal factors of the game.
Starting point is 00:50:15 with, can you make that bigger a little bit, Matt? We'll love the mix screen a little bit bigger, Matt. They're good. Yeah, right? You make a bigger year? Take your time. It's not a podcast. We're not live. Is it safe to say that the hardest year to be a cop pro mentally, not only because the internal factors in the game with the heartbreakers, but also external factors like format and structure of the league, also to the non-pros,
Starting point is 00:50:39 while's just point of view as well by watching the guys this year compared to that. I'll go. Okay, actually you go. Since you hold the camera. Actually, I'll go first. Okay, you go first. As a pro and an external. No, I'm just going to talk out as external.
Starting point is 00:50:53 So. It's final. I don't, nothing's really, to me, it seems like everything's, it's like more of a structure, but it seems like nothing, everything's still full, like, it seems like everything's still up in the air. Like, what players, just like, I know the whole COVID thing happened this year, so we'll get, you know, benefit to that. Cool. But, like, just still, just with everything, there's just a better way. It seems like, there's just.
Starting point is 00:51:15 No one it just seems like no one's putting their foot down still. It's just corny to see like it's just like another Year cot you already know to expect like every year. Yeah, that's facts bro. I feel like if you combine this year with last year with us moving towards the online format that that that specifically is what is like the most like stressful part of it. Yeah, it's like there's a lot of like I don't want to say like excuses, but there's a lot of these pros I feel like are going into the situation that's fucking online. Get back on land. Let's get back on land. And it's like there's like pros like or like if you like, at the Seattle surge team who struggled for literally two years online and then go to land and they're like not they know they're not going to compete at chance but they're getting up to like fifth six it's like yeah exactly it's like how do you mentally they're like wow this these two years are just fucked just validates what they're saying just validates like people bitching about like online yeah you know i'd be like that's like the biggest aspect of like the mental that like pros have had to get past mentally is like the online format of it which like hopefully like things
Starting point is 00:52:15 get better in the world and we can move back to the land format but I mean at the same time like it's your mental like you got to do everything you can to be healthy and perform at your best so I think a two-way street I think that if if I wouldn't have listened to Seth or if I wouldn't listen to other pros who said that they didn't want to go into a bubble that's what I'd say bro Seth just walked in and it reminded me like I think that the bubble would have done a lot for people uh but But it would have also been stressful, though, because they would have been away from their families. They would have been away from their girlfriends or dogs or, you know, whatever. That content could have a catapult.
Starting point is 00:52:55 Yeah, that could have been sick. Could have been it. I know. Some traction. We definitely could have a bubble. Let me tune to that. It would have been hard. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:03 No, again, I think that it could have been an option. I think that it could have worked. But because some players didn't want to do that and some players did, some players would rather play online. Some people would rather just chalk it. Like, there was. There was literally nothing that anyone can do. Anybody that blames the league or brings fellow duty or blames anything, like they literally don't understand the way of the world. This is something that no one could help.
Starting point is 00:53:25 But at the same time, when I see pros bitching, which is obviously understandably so. I get it. But there was nothing else to do. We couldn't just chalk an entire year and not have anything else. We had to, you know. But at the same time, that's also part of the shit that makes your mental game like fucked up. So I don't know. Personally, like experiencing it, like going through it with them.
Starting point is 00:53:49 Like, yeah, we're complaining about online. But what are the other options? A bubble? Well, nobody wants to do the bubble because even then you're still going to suffer mentally because you're going to be homesick. You're going to be missing your people, right? Like, it's just, it just was not worth it. This, what we did last year was the only thing that made sense.
Starting point is 00:54:08 So every single time I see a pro, like, sort of complaining about like, oh, it's on land or like, I don't perform well until I'm on land. Like, there's literally nothing else. that could be done, period. So I don't know, it is. 100% this is the hardest year for anyone mentally, just not here in Calduty or in Esports, just mentally, period, right? Because they politicized this whole mask thing so much
Starting point is 00:54:30 that you don't know what right is right and what wrong is wrong. And until we fucking get through this, until we pass this thing, not with the variance, like I don't even know, man. I don't know how to keep up, where to keep up. I'm just going to do my best. I'm going to wear my mask where.
Starting point is 00:54:45 where people feel more comfortable and then they don't, I don't. Do you see the flooding? I did see the flooding. That shit was crazy. I saw a rat doing back shirt. What? You saw that video on New York? The rat was swimming doing twirls in the water.
Starting point is 00:55:01 Like it was having fun. Yeah. So. Back squirrels. Like Stuart Little. Let me see you right now. Pull it up right now. Matt's pulling it up right now.
Starting point is 00:55:09 Yeah. He's on top of his. Yeah. Hell yeah. Well, there's two big storms happening, right? There's Ida in in the, in the, in the golf and then there's the New York one I don't know the New York one there's another one in New York
Starting point is 00:55:21 yeah a bad hurricane yeah a bad hurricane yeah I don't know that yeah I only know about it here we go what oh my god bro imagine this is your apartment the beginning of that clip is crazy though you hear the water like break in like full screen it look at this yo yo like
Starting point is 00:55:42 this is a reminder that mother nature look at this guy he's got a vape That's lit. Oh, that's a, he's smoking Shisha. That's not vape. That's some shit I do. That's a hookah. Imagine seeing him behoos like this.
Starting point is 00:55:56 That's exactly some shit I do. Oh, he does have a hookah. That water is fucking, dirty. Yeah, I mean, obviously he did it for the, for the cloud, yeah. You know how fucking dirty that water is, bro? Dude.
Starting point is 00:56:09 Like, unbelievable. Everything's like coming up from the bottom, getting like pushed to the top and shit, bro. There it is, there it is. Oh, this guy. Oh, my God. Wait, look at it. Yay!
Starting point is 00:56:21 It's loving it. It is, dude. It's like, finally. I could swim and bathe. Can you hear of the fuck I want, human? I wouldn't hear him. My thing is like, is he doing that a purpose or can he not swim? Yeah, no, it's bad.
Starting point is 00:56:33 This guy's just standing there right now. Like, if you're going to come out with at least minimum. You're trapped? Minimum ring worm. Oh my God. That's insane. It's so bad. What is the name of the storm?
Starting point is 00:56:46 Look at this. Imagine. Imagine everything. You put in there is coming out now? Who is recording this right now? Where is he standing? And that fucking murky-ass water. He's in it with his fucking shoes dressed.
Starting point is 00:56:55 Dude, dude, he's just like, peep this. Think about the basement apartments where like you're in the crib and in the little cubby window right here. Oh, yeah,
Starting point is 00:57:03 yeah, yeah, yeah. No, you got to move out. You got to move out. I feel bad, man. That's, uh, nature. Like,
Starting point is 00:57:10 he's got his mask on still. Yeah. See, if this were Texas, he wouldn't have a mask on. No, no, you do.
Starting point is 00:57:14 And here in Texas, you still have to wear masks. Yeah. So this guy is this guy's fed up This guy said fuck this Oh yours are precious Oh that's your ride right there Boas that's what you can't get it
Starting point is 00:57:24 Damn you just be on the side Just like I wouldn't be outside Yeah I'm not going outside Yeah I'd be like where they going I'd be in the raptor Wait what if you were running that What if you were like driving to like another state
Starting point is 00:57:36 And you got caught in that They'd be so sure That would be so bad What about the plane's trying to land Oh I saw the New York airport Was flooded baggage claim was flooded No Oh bro everything was so everything was so
Starting point is 00:57:47 Everything's been so bad, just bad in general, period. Wait. What's the name of the storm in New York, Matt? Ida. No, Ida is in New Orleans. Ida. Ida. Wait. Okay, so wait. No, New York City.
Starting point is 00:58:06 Oh, wait. So did end? Wait, is it the same? It's the same one. That's how they come down and they like go up to the right. They fucking do this? Yeah, they end at New York. It's really fucking lame for them. That is. It's like, you start your tour in New Orleans. You end your tour. New York? That's so messed up. Alright, everybody. Imagine not knowing which way it was going.
Starting point is 00:58:23 If you just aren't aware at all and you're just like driving away from it and you're like, let's just go to New York. Like, let's get the fuck away from it. It's just chasing you. Just chasing you. No, bro. If you're not thinking, let's go inland, let's go west. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:35 Or east if you're on the west coast, like, you know, where are we at? Mother Nature is scared. It was like the safest ever besides snow. No, Texas. Bro, I see. Carnadoes. No, but not here. You did that shit yesterday?
Starting point is 00:58:47 The sirens going off? Yeah. There's Tuesday, though. Yesterday was Tuesday. Yeah, it wasn't the sirens were going out, the tornado ones. Really? Yeah, but what's today?
Starting point is 00:58:58 Thursday? It gets me shook. Oh, yeah. No, Tuesday's when they do the test. I get shook when I did. Oh, really? Oh, I didn't know. I used to get scared as I was a kid. Remember when you still sleep, like, wake up in the middle of the night
Starting point is 00:59:06 and you hear in a TV like, this is the emergency alert system? Yeah. It's a, teat, te, te, t, yeah. This is the emergency broadcast system. This is not a test. Oh, shit. Oh my God, I used to go crazy. Like, oh, shit, they're coming to give me.
