Starting point is 00:00:08 Welcome to Otherworld. I'm your host, Jack Wagner. This episode is about a guy named Dylan. At the time when all of this took place, he was a teenager, living in Ohio, and working at a pizza place. After work, him and his friends would go out, drive around the expansive rural farm roads, explore abandoned buildings, and basically look for any kind of trouble or excitement that they could find. This is very familiar to me. My teenage years were extremely similar to this. I also delivered pizzas for a place called Aurelios, and I spent a lot of time driving around farm roads,
Starting point is 00:00:53 bringing pizzas and family-style Italian appetizers to the people of Romeoville, Illinois, and the surrounding suburbs. I can tell you from firsthand experience that you definitely see and experienced some very weird stuff while working a job like that or going out after work, exploring and looking for trouble. But on this particular night,
Starting point is 00:01:20 Dylan and his friend Brandon ended up seeing something much weirder than they could have ever expected and something that has stuck with Dylan many years later. This is episode 127. The title is Cattle Farm creature and you're listening to other world. Is this Bobby?
Starting point is 00:01:46 Yeah, it is. At its core, the science, you can't argue. I'm not worried about all the science. Up in the sky. It's almost frustrating that it's happening. I'm going to die. I'm going to die. It's limbs were just like wrong.
Starting point is 00:01:58 Everybody moves back into the light, even if it takes them. My name's Dylan. 31 years old. I live in Ohio, Columbus, Ohio. I work for myself. I'm a painter, but I'm, you know, subcontracting, things of that nature. So stay pretty busy.
Starting point is 00:02:39 But yeah, the story took place about 30 minutes from here where I grew up in Baltimore, Ohio, surrounded by a lot of little towns that I've kind of lived in as well, but within a five, 10 minute range. So it's kind of like the cliche small town, you know, everybody knows each other, everybody's in each other's business, that type of deal. Nice town, though, fantastic. I had a good upbringing, you know, not a lot of problems there. I wouldn't change anything about it. It was a good, good upbringing. Lots of farm area and lots of woods. But I would say primarily more farm open fields, but speckled, you know, with pretty dense woods as well.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Lots of little rivers, canals, things like that. But overall, just your kind of normal little tiny quiet farm town surrounded by, the same other little tiny farm towns as well. So growing up, my mom was always, I wouldn't say kind of into it, but not opposed to being open to it. She had a couple little stories from her childhood, she told me, but it's not like, you know, she was kind of woo-woo into crystals and all that type of stuff. So definitely believed in it, but not like over the top. So, uh, and that goes the same for the family on my mom's side. My dad's side's kind of hard asses. So not, not, not the same. I'd say I definitely believed in it. Um, whether it's aliens, spirits, things of that nature, yeah. But not to a point where I've really put much thought into it. Now, you know, a documentary or two
Starting point is 00:04:27 would come on, being a young kid, you know, I'd watch it, but not something I would deep dive into. Now, the older I got, a little more curious I got about it, but it's, again, not something I really dove into much until that experience, and then that kind of projected me forward into, I wouldn't say an obsession, but definitely looking for answers and fascinated by other firsthand experiences. At the time of my experience, I was, I believe it was 15 or 16 right around there. It was the getting close to school being led out for the summer. My friend Brandon and I, we worked at this pizza place called Christy's Pizza in Baltimore. And we were good friends.
Starting point is 00:05:18 You know, that's why I got the job anyways. And we had a good time. Usually after we would go and hang out, you know, drive around, drive the back roads. So we often work together, as I said, and we would leave together. We usually got off about the same time. I lived about, say, about 10 minutes away. And at the time, I didn't have a vehicle. I would either use my moms or my stepdad's or he would drive me home,
Starting point is 00:05:46 whatever we were doing afterwards. So we worked our normal shift. We would get out around 10, depending on clothes. You know, you know how jobs work. So that particular day, I know we got off around 10. He was taking me home. And we were kind of discussing like what we were going to do. It wasn't going to be.
Starting point is 00:06:08 Now, I was definitely, I wouldn't say a bad kid, but definitely very like party oriented, social. Wasn't a destructive child. But we had a lot of fun and we definitely would get out of hand. But this night, particularly, we were not. not going to party or do anything like that because it was a school night. This night, he's driving me to my house, but we would ride the back roads by my house. So at this time, again, I'm 10 minutes from Baltimore in a little town called Pleasantville, Ohio.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Also farm, very small, probably a population of 1,000, but they were very rural farm roads. I'm talking like old farm roads, like real narrow probably hadn't been changed much since, you know, the old days. These roads were very skinny, not graded well, just kind of rough and not level by any means. So we had a habit. I kind of became an unofficial tour guide for this place called Mudhouse Mansion. I encourage anybody. who's curious to look it up. It's no longer there. It's been torn down. The owners had a lot of issues with people wanting to go in and see the house, which I'll further explain, but they would violently push people away. I'm smashing windshields, all that fun stuff, running people out.
Starting point is 00:07:44 So, Munnows Mansion was this monster house, huge, like four stories. It was an old plantation house back when slavery was still legal in Ohio in the early days, because obviously a lot of people know, the North ended that quicker. So at Mudhouse, there is these, the slave quarters are still there. I mean, you can see the cots, like the fold-down metal bed type things. The house is very dilapidated, but in good enough shape to where you can walk through most of it where the floor is not falling through. It even has like the old May tag washer and dry.
Starting point is 00:08:23 dryer in there from 40s, who knows. But yeah, I became the unofficial tour guide for that. So this particular night, we're driving to drive past Mudhouse and kind of do our drive and discuss if we were going to get into anything that night or not. There's an area on our way there that has two slight, very slight hills spaced out by probably about 100 yards roughly, again, on this very narrow rough. road. Now, in between, I want to say, it's at the top of the second hill going towards mud house. There is a cow farm, but it's like a cow barn with half of the ceiling roof, if you will,
Starting point is 00:09:09 exposed to like the elements. So I'm assuming they could go out there and sit during the day and then go inside to where it was covered and probably heated, you know, during night. although it sounds very cliche that cow farm was right there i'd say i sent you the picture if my memory serves me correctly i'd say it was probably about 50 feet from the road now this cow farm had a large security light on the pole on a pole right outside of it and it illuminated a lot of the road in the surrounding field, along with obviously the headlights in the car with whoever's traveling. This night we're heading towards Mudhouse and we're getting to those hills. So we come up over the first hill, the slight hill, and as we crest the top, our headlights
Starting point is 00:10:03 are projecting, you know, forward and kind of illuminating the surrounding field even more than it already was from the security light. As we do, we start to come down. down that hill in between the two hills, as I said, where there's the gap. As we start to come down, our headlights had everything lit up in front of us crystal clear. We're about to like level off this abnormally tall being. I mean, seven, eight feet tall, with extremely disproportionate limbs. The limbs of this thing were double the length of, like a proportionate human would be at that height.
Starting point is 00:10:54 This thing crosses from my left side, so Brandon's side, and it crosses across the road right in front of us. As this thing's running, and I explained this in the email, is probably the best way I can say it, think of like somebody on the moon trying to make exaggerated long strides. so it's like extra forceful with the way they were propelling themselves like off their feet to propel forward whatever this thing was crossed that street in like three strides although not a very wide street I couldn't have done it that quickly it crossed that street in three strides I mean extremely quick
Starting point is 00:11:44 extremely exaggerated steps with long, awkward strides. This thing was, again, seven, eight feet tall, for sure. And what stood out the most of anything were the legs and how long and scrawny the legs were. But it had what I can only describe as active camouflage. I could see through it. But you could see the form of, of this being crystal clear with the headlights projecting.
Starting point is 00:12:18 It gave like a shimmer almost. I know most of America has played the game Halo. Or look through a flower vase, one of the distorted like flower vases. It distorted everything behind it. So you could tell, again, that you could see the outline crystal clear filled with like, almost look like kind of like a jelly,
Starting point is 00:12:41 I guess you could say. The lights went right through it. like through it to where you could see the stuff behind it, but very distorted. Like on a hot summer day, you see that wavy, the heat coming off the road. That's not the best way to explain it, but it had like a shimmering effect to it. But everything you could see through it was not cloudy, but like looking through a decorative flower vase. where you know you can see everything behind it, no problem, but everything looks abstract.
Starting point is 00:13:18 So the headlights hitting it did cause, it did seem like it, like I said, had that shimmering effect. So almost kind of, and this is, again, this is an extreme example, so maybe take 20% of this, but like a Pokemon card, like holographic. But without the bright, vibrant colors, you could see it shimmering a little bit. like maybe reflecting the light going through it or around it, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:13:46 But that's the best way I can just explain it. It had that tint to it and it shimmered. Scale 1 to 10 how transparent it was, I would say, about a 7 or 8. 10 being like looking through glass. I'm confident we would never have been able to see this thing. If it wasn't for A, the security light on the cow pasture thing, or B, our headlights. This thing would have been cloaked in so well, you would have never seen it.
Starting point is 00:14:25 All right. We'll be right back after this quick break. So this being, if that's what you want to call it, was seven, eight feet tall, and it ran in front of us from the left side to the passenger side, the right side. I didn't get a good look at the head, but again, what stood out were its long appendages. The head I know was in the shape of a head. I can say that I would be lying if I said I remembered if it was abnormally large or small. In the moment, we were, Brandon and I were just focused on this thing just gliding.
Starting point is 00:15:41 It had every chance to not be seen by us. Like, why did it choose then? About 20, 25 feet out. I mean straight into the illuminate, you know, our headlights illuminating it. Obviously, it had been in front of us the whole time, but when it was like more dead center, you could crystal clear see the shape of this long, scrawny thing. This thing runs across to my side and into the field.
Starting point is 00:16:13 Now, this field had been harvested or not planted yet, So it was completely clear with, you know, the little stocks of probably corn at the time that were maybe a foot tall. Again, we are traveling probably 40 miles an hour, maybe 45, not very fast because the road doesn't allow it. This thing crossed in front of us into the field. Gone. I lost sight of it because of us traveling. Didn't really have a chance to think or say much. I mean, I know for sure that I was like, what the fuck was that? and I'm sure Brandon said the same thing. You know, I was 16, so that has been a long time as far as, like, what exactly was said, but I can tell you everything else was certainty.
Starting point is 00:16:57 Obviously, both of us were saying something along that lines, but I know it took a second. I know after it happened, we kept driving for probably a few seconds before we said anything because, I mean, what the hell do you say? There's no explanation for it. There's nothing, never seen something like that in our life, and it damn sure wasn't somebody a human. And if it was an abnormally freakishly shaped human, what the hell, like, they have cloaking that we don't know about, apparently, and then that opens up a whole other can of questions.
Starting point is 00:17:31 To be honest with you, I wasn't, like, there wasn't like a fear or anything. It was an adrenaline rush. I remember that. I think with just the flood of, like, what the fuck was that? there really wasn't a whole lot of thinking. So we continued to drive and after it hadn't been long, but it was long enough to where, you know,
Starting point is 00:17:51 you would figure the thing wouldn't have still been there. So probably maybe three, four minutes, if that, we decided to turn around. And it wasn't, we didn't decide to turn around because we're like, I want to go find this thing. I mean, we kind of, I guess, without saying, kind of assume like that was a one and done thing. like, wow, that was crazy, but that was probably the end of it.
Starting point is 00:18:16 And I do, I distinctly remember saying, turn into Brannon and saying, wouldn't it be crazy if that thing was still there? We decide to turn around. So in reverse order, we come to that hill. We come down the hill. And on my side this time, so it would have been the original side that it crossed from. We're coming down that second hill, and on my right side, about 30 feet out, clear as day, because of that security light, our headlights did illuminate it or aid in the illumination, I'd say a little bit, but it was primarily the security light. We both look over, and this freakishly tall thing, whatever it was, was standing there.
Starting point is 00:19:09 I don't know if it was facing us or away, because it still had that marbled, odd jelly, see-through look thing to it, but actively camouflaged, still crystal clear it was there. And as we get close to it being parallel with the car, and we're actively watching it, and we are going slower this time, this thing squats down. And when it squats down, picture a frog. this thing's legs were so much longer than it should have been, its legs were above its head when it squatted down to where, like, if you're playing leapfrog in that position, but this thing's knees were above its head by a good a bit.
Starting point is 00:20:03 I mean, half a foot, foot, you know, it's 30 feet away, so I can't say exactly, but it was a good bit. This thing crouches down in that position, and when I tell you it rocketed up, it was in one swift motion crouched down and it shot straight up like a jetpack. Gone. I didn't get the chance to track it super high up. You know, a lot of factors were driving, light, and it happened so quick. But it shot up, I could say confidently that I seen it for at least the first 10 feet shot straight up into the air.
Starting point is 00:20:42 gone. And at that point, there was a little more profanity, I guess. Like, we were definitely more confused that time around. That's when we didn't stay again a whole lot. We were real close to my house. It was more of like a right after it happened and, you know, our couple outbursts, it was silent on the drive home. We pull into my driveway, put it in a lot of, park and we talked about it briefly, but I don't think we really, both of us didn't really have a whole lot to say because there was no words or explanation for what we had just seen. And as I kind of said earlier, like, I wasn't like a UFO alien type of person. You know, I am more now.
Starting point is 00:21:35 Like, I am fascinated by that stuff. But at the time, you know, I was more focused on girls and party. I was, that wasn't a thing. And it blew our minds, that's for sure. So two days later, and again, I said this happened five minutes from my house, two days later, obviously I go to sleep like a normal night, nothing crazy, no drinking, no partying. I go to sleep that night. And I woke up with, I guess, your stereotypical sleep paralysis. Thank God, I didn't have my eyes open.
Starting point is 00:22:15 Like, it sounds like a lot of people go through. That doesn't sound enjoyable at all. But I had the sensation of a heavy, weighted blanket across my whole body. I could not move. And I also had the feeling that there was something in the room with me. Very odd pressure, I guess you could say, and kind of like a slight ringing. That's what I remember specifically,
Starting point is 00:22:46 but I remember, I remember waking up, obviously trying to sit up and just being locked in place. And now I'm sure this is for most people. I was fully conscious. Like, I knew my body was not moving. I could think clearly.
Starting point is 00:23:04 I remember screaming at the top of my lungs while I'm in this state. And I could hear the, the noise that was actually coming out of my mouth. And it was like a, I mean, I was trying with everything I had in me to sit up, scream anything. And eventually I did. I sat straight up, and that was the end of it. But I do think it's odd that it was in, you know, two days after, all this took place as close as it did to my house.
Starting point is 00:23:39 But that's how it happened. So, and I recently talked to Brandon, and I did not bring, I mean, I brought it up, but I didn't say anything to him, like, specifics or details because I wanted to confirm, you know, what he remembered. And his, his words were, you know, fuck yeah, how could I forget that? That shit was crazy. And then he went into telling me what he remembered, and it pretty spot on. the abnormal height, it being scrawny, the limbs, it jetpacking up in the air, those were all key points that he touched on. So it was burnt into his memory the same it's been burnt into mine. And I also did myself a favor, thankfully. I wrote down, it was probably about six months later, but I did write down the details of that night.
Starting point is 00:24:36 And I'm glad I did. But as crazy as it was, I remember I had always thought about it here and there, but I never really thought too much into it. But I did know, or no would not be a good word, I was confident in obviously what we seen that night, but that what we seen that night was not from this world. Some of the questions I've had for myself are, why did it choose? to run out in front of us when it did, because those roads are so lightly traveled, it had no business running out in front of us if it didn't want to be seen.
Starting point is 00:25:18 Obviously, I haven't never spoken to us. I don't know its intentions, but I don't understand, A, why it crossed in front of us, knowing it had to have been able to be seen. And also, like, why the hell was it still there? Like, it had to have conscientiously turned back around, went back where it started, and just stood there. There were several minutes in between us, I mean, like I said earlier, three, four minutes in between us seeing it, why was it still there? And why was it back on the initial side of the road?
Starting point is 00:25:56 And why did it decide to shoot up when we seen it a second time? I mean, those are the questions I have that will never be answered, obviously, but it's kind of when you go home after something like that and lay in bed and start trying to piece together what you've seen and why you've seen it, you start to have those questions of what were its intentions, what were, you know, what was it doing? And I'm confident it was aware we were there. There's no way it wasn't. It definitely propelled me for. forward into, I guess, more like fringe thinking. As a kid, especially in that time, I was very dismissive of everything. I was very, I have life figured out. I know what I know. And there's not a lot
Starting point is 00:26:49 you can tell me. I was a little arrogant, shitty kid. It did propel me forward into a different way of thinking for sure. I mean, much more open-minded, especially to other people's experience. You know, I was very dismissive of things like, whatever, they're doing that for attention, or they're probably remembering it wrong, or they were asleep, you know, any excuse you can to explain something a way that isn't a conventional thought. It definitely, like, as I said, propelled my interest into things like this, whether it's paranormal. alien related, etc. But yeah, it peaked my interest, and it's something I'm 31 now.
Starting point is 00:27:35 It's 15, 16 at the time, and I'm more interested in it than ever. As far as what I think it was, Brandon and I are both in agreement that we most certainly think it was something, like I said, not of this planet, not a human. and if you go off just the movement alone, it was not human. Then you factor in the way this thing looked and the camouflage, all that. And then, you know, the biggest piece of cake is the way it shot up into the air. This thing had either on its own accord or own abilities or a jetpack or technology.
Starting point is 00:28:24 This thing shot itself up into the air with so much force and quickness. It was, like I said, it was unreal. Absolutely unreal. Okay. First off, thank you so much to Dylan for talking to me and sharing this story. We did speak to Brandon off the record. He confirmed the story and told us his version of events, which matched up exactly with what Dylan told us.
Starting point is 00:29:05 He did not want to be on the podcast, but I thought it was worth pointing out that we did speak to him. In terms of what this is, that's, of course, baffling to me. I couldn't help but go online after talking to Dylan to see if there were any kind of cattle mutilation cases, strange sightings, or anything unusual reported in that area. I couldn't find anything nearby, but then again, events that take place in farmland, outside of major cities and towns. Often don't make it on the news or onto the internet, so it's hard to say. What struck me most about this story was how unique looking this thing was,
Starting point is 00:29:49 the height, the bizarre way that it crouched like a frog with its abnormally long legs, and the way he described it as looking like it was from the game Halo, which is a comparison that might be more vivid to certain listeners than others. And of course, the fact that he said that it had some kind of active camouflage or cloaking going on with it. I couldn't imagine the shock of seeing something like that while I was driving down an empty farm road at night. Not only that, I just thought this description was so specific and unique. It would be hard to sit there and say that these guys just saw something else
Starting point is 00:30:34 and were mistaken. Like, not many things in the real world match this description. There's just not really anything you'd expect to see on a farm or anywhere that would look even remotely like this, especially up close. I thought this was such a weird story. I don't think I've encountered a description of a thing looking like this. In some ways, it reminded me a bit of the episode we did called Cloaked, but that was somebody seeing something up in the sky.
Starting point is 00:31:04 I don't know. This one was pretty weird. Once again, thank you to Dylan and Brandon for speaking to us. This has been episode 127.
