Hey, it's Nicole Hill, creator and host of our ancestors were messy. Welcome to the minisode. For this one, I'm going to give you the backstory for next week's episode, a very special episode. And then, as always, I'll play the preview. So a couple weeks back, I told you about how I pitched the concept of the show everywhere to try to find a studio to partner with me and fund it and get the word out and no dice. But guess what happened next? So I wrote and recorded a pilot episode with Nigel Turner as my guest and John DeLore as my sound designer.

Both of them were a dream. And then I submitted that episode to the Tribeca Audio Storytelling Festival, which is part of the Tribeca Film Festival. And they were my first yes. I debuted the show there. I heard an audience react to it for the first time there. And that is where I decided that even if I could only do it for one season, I was going to make this show and just trust that I would find a way to get it to you. And through the incredible network of creators that I am privileged to be part of and through listeners who've been rating and reviewing the show and posting about it and texting their friends, people have been sending me their text messages, I have managed to reach you. And a lot of other people, actually.
