Hour 2 overdrive continues, powered by Fanduel.
Bringing you more ways to play your game, Your Way, Monday night or tonight.
Commanders, Niners, we'll get to that.
A lot of news coming out of the NFL this week.
It's going to be a great week because I think the Rays are going to win now.
They're up 3-2 going back to Tampa.
I think we're going to have the World Series.
We're going to have NFL football.
CFL football.
Shout out to the Red Blocks.
They got themselves to win at the expense of the Argos.
Man, they were happy after that game.
Man, they were happy.
You celebrate that much when you win.
You got to.
You got to, man.
It's been a year of misery.
They celebrated like they won the Great Cup, man.
I was watching it.
I was watching it.
Corona did an interview with the wide receiver after the game.
I thought he was going to start tearing up about the importance of the win and how big it was.
And then they threw it back to Luke who was in the booth.
He jumped in.
And he was pumping their tires.
and they had a quarterback that kind of came out of nowhere and played great.
So a big win for the Red Blacks.
But we're going to have football, baseball, hockey, basketball.
We've got everything going this week.
It's great.
Where do you think that World Series matchup is going to rank from ancient baseball?
It doesn't have a ton of cachet publicly right now.
The Ray's Guardians game six is coming up like no one seems to be buzzing about it.
Anyway, let's bring in our boy who has to be licking his wounds.
Because of the smell.
What the
Win Wilson
Just an awful pick last night
There is Luke Wilson
Just a horrible
First off way way way parts
Parts come on
You lost focus and you lost belief at God
Dude I pick the Browns
Nobody
I'm the only person North America
That picked the Browns
Very good pick
To your credit
You forgot to say division leading Browns
Division leading Browns
You're right
I mean let's let's be honest here
Like a great pick
Great pick there
And this is what
To be honest
you want to talk about pure dejection.
Okay. Is the Brown's pick comes through.
I've got my feet kicked up.
I'm like, man, what a pick.
We're up one.
And I'm like, there's no way the Raiders cover against the bills.
I don't know why anyone would pick that.
I'm like, we'll be up too.
And I knew the night game would be a bit greasy.
But I'm like, we'll be all right.
Dak in the offense won't be this bad.
Dude.
Coming off back-to-back weeks.
No, hang on.
You never believe in them again.
Stop it.
I'm with you.
The Rams, dude, it's over.
The Rams aren't done.
Dude, they've got an easy schedule parts.
I'm telling you.
I'm not saying the Redals are an easy schedule.
I think it couldn't beat them.
Dude, I'm sorry, parts.
The Rams are done.
They'll be fine.
I think they got, let me rephrase that.
I think the NFC playoff picture is going to be very interesting.
I think you'll get the four division winners,
the two second place teams from the NFC North and the NFC West,
and then it's basically going to be who,
pukes more on the third place
team. It's going to be the north of the west.
Yes. And like it ain't anybody
from the NFC East, I'll tell you out for free.
Well, this is what is getting wild
because the east and the south are terrible
and not real players.
You know, like someone has to represent both divisions
and they'll get pumped at home in the playoffs
and they'll just, they'll be
the Saturday 1 o'clock game
and they'll just be told to get out of the way
effectively. But
DeVonte Adams has a
serious injury. He's out like 6 to 10.
10 weeks now.
So that is a big hit for the Rams.
Their kicker was being a hero last night, blew his ACL out on the tackle.
It just got to demolish.
It wasn't necessary.
Dude, what does you weigh 140 pounds and it just got smoked?
Okay.
Kyle?
Outrageous.
Yeah.
Can I say something, boys?
And they kind of tie into each other.
Okay.
But sometimes I think with like the NFL and the amount of media and the amount of coverage
and the amount of like the NFL to me is the one of the few leagues that like invites inside
information, whether it's hard knocks,
whether it's just like media and
answering the media, you know, especially when you
compare to like a sport like hockey.
And maybe people have gotten
like loss where it's like, and Jim Nance
falls into this, this is a
violent game here. Okay, what you
see on Sunday, although it's normalized,
like one of the things my dad
would say when he came out to practice
a few times in Seattle was
the craziest thing was watching the offensive
linemen in their like warm-up
drills because they're so big
and they look slower on television,
but in real life, they're not slow.
They're cooking.
They're cooking.
Like, they're quick.
I shouldn't say they're like super speed demons,
but they're fast, okay?
And they're violent.
And it's two Rams consistently.
And it's like, now a sudden,
groupie, they've got to listen to at 160,
which isn't that light of a human
when you compare it to the average Joe.
Okay?
Comes down here.
Jonas.
Not North America.
Hey, I'm going to make a tackle.
And it's like, dude, your ACL?
Is that what it did it?
I thought he got knocked out.
I have never seen someone.
It's probably both.
Blow their ACL out throwing the tackle.
Correct.
I've never seen that before.
And then the Jim Nance thing.
What would make Jim Nance think that he can punch a football?
Like, this isn't your nerve ball at the Toys R Us Store.
Right.
The footballs are hard.
And J.J. Watt is holding it.
Correct.
This is the best year.
You watch J.J.
when JJ holds it, the ball doesn't move a millimeter.
Watch this.
And Nancy's like, watch this.
I'm going to punch this ball out and show you how the boys do it when they're chasing somebody around.
Look at old Jimmy Nance's punch.
He breaks his wrist.
Dude, he has to wrap it later.
Yeah, he's legit banged up.
Like, get that guy to Pebble Beach.
He just wants to hit little 60-degree wedges.
This is the National Football League.
It's not for everyone.
I have to tell you, we've been.
buried the lead because the most redonk thing yesterday, never seen it, and it's my favorite
thing ever, is stinky Mike McCarthy coming out of the blue tent with the hobballot?
Come on, dude!
Look at this guy.
He blew a wheel.
He's the coach.
He's wheeling around out there, and he went, oh, look at this guy.
He's the coach.
He's coming out of the blue tent, and he can't walk.
parts. Would the boys
not abuse him coming out of the
blue tent? I'm hoping
this might be a tough ass for doge
but the funniest thing to add on to
that was the post-game
presser of Aaron Rogers and he's got
this
poop-eating grin, we'll call it, so I'm safe
where you can tell he just wants to
absolutely shred
because he wasn't in there at halftime
and Aaron was like,
we all, first are all like, well is he okay?
And then when they found out like, yeah, dude, he's got
A bad ankle.
A coach going in the blue tent.
The only thing funnier about the blue tent was when Dable was in there last year.
He tried to strangle the team doctor.
Like, I love the blue tent, man.
But you cannot go in there as a coach.
That's a player's only position.
Players only in the blue tent.
Like, I fell for the guy.
This guy, here comes a coach.
With his play card.
He was in there for like 20 minutes.
They said he missed the whole house.
Dude, what the hell was he doing?
Is he calling plays from his phone?
Dude, imagine he got on the bike after that.
Now, in fairness, like...
Oh, my God.
I've never been a massive Mike McCarthy guy.
I've kind of been indifferent.
After listening to him, speak, he gives kind of like grandpa energy now, and I'm on his side.
Like, it was the whole thing was a straight skit out of Saturday Night Live.
It's wild.
seeing some coaches battle for stuff.
And the Aaron Rogers presser after made my day, man.
He was, you could tell he was fighting back like pure laughter.
And I was just dying, dying laughing.
I sat in the bench with, look back and saw Pat Quinn with just two black eyes and like his glasses busted.
It's like you're the coach of the team, man.
Crazy.
Like, how was that happening?
Yeah, that was multiple pucks off the face, though, wasn't it?
I think Paul Maurice got hit in the head last year with a puck and got zippers.
There's a coach that got zippers on the head last year.
You're right.
Coach is getting it all the time.
Like coaches, I think Darrell Sutter, when we were,
Darryl Sutter got hit with a puck, and I think it broke like it is orbital bone.
But like, you, of course, him, like he, I think he just kept coaching.
Like, I think he went in the back, they taped him up and he came back out.
But, like, he, you know, Sutter is a Sutter, like, pretty.
Well, how about Craig Baroubae's face last year?
with the act
Oh my god
That was the most
That was outrageous
Dude that was outrageous
So unhealthy
What did they say that a weight fell on his head?
Yes
Well I think we all kind of know the story right
Like he was he was doing a band
And the actual like
The bar off of a squat rack fell on his head
Like any normal human being that might have
You know
Yes
Killed them basically
Yeah he looked like a Halloween thing
That's a blue tent
Acceptable
Like that I would accept if the coached.
I think it happened in the morning and he coached that night and it looked like someone took an axe to his head.
Dude, he tried to get a pick of that.
Look at that.
Come on, guys.
Let's get in on the forecheck.
Can you imagine looking at that scar?
That was, but that was, oh, it was, he coached the next day.
So that happened.
It was a day off and it was a scheduled day off.
He coached the next day where people were like, this guy's going to be missing.
For weeks, he showed up at the ring.
Dude, that's a great Halloween costume if you kind of look like Chief, like to just get to leaf zip up and cut your forehead.
Great call.
But that, I think it was like 50-some stitches, something crazy.
Really bad.
At least.
Well, when he showed up the next day, he was kind of hoping no one would notice, I think.
You have a hat on?
Did he have a hat on or something?
Yeah, made it even better.
And then I think he got a question or two in and he goes, I guess I just got to kind of address this.
Because people are in there looking at him like, oh, my God, what happened to you?
You know, like that, and he is so tough, he just kept going.
And it kept getting worse because, you know, the blood drains and then it was like discolored and it was wild.
It was crazy.
If there was a picture that could describe their season last year, that's what it was.
Yes.
That was the thing on.
Wow, that's a great take.
Well, they started using like the dessert.
to wind meter.
Based on the scar, right?
It was like where the arrow went on the forehead.
They were like concern meter and it was like.
Right, concern meter.
Oh, it was so good last year.
I mean, it wasn't, but it was some great content that came out of it.
All right, now we're on the topic of injuries.
We've got to get into this jail and heard stuff.
Dude, bizarre a world, man.
It's a doctor.
Like, I'd sue somebody if he'd let me play, and that was a possibility.
So let me lay it out before you touch on it, Luke.
So when he was in London, they discovered, this was last week when they were playing the Jags,
that he has multiple blood clots in his lungs.
It's terrifying.
And the doctor said, basically, you can't sleep.
So he was awake for 36 hours and then played the game.
And now, obviously, you know.
he's done for the year.
As a player, how do you
respond to a story like that?
It's a bit tough,
Hayes, because
I'm just shooting it straight here,
my experience in Seattle
with that medical team was
100 out of 100.
Like, at no point
did I ever feel like
I was not completely
informed of what the
situation with any injury that I had,
the dangers, the
rehab, the recovery.
It was crystal
clear to me from our
athletic trainers all the way to our
doctors to the point where there
is a playoff game the year we lost
in Carolina to Cam
Newton the year they ended up
losing the Super Bowl.
The game before, I was
concussed. It was the infamous
Blair Walsh, he missed the kick in the
cold game. I thought
I was ready to go via concussion
and Pete came
and told me he was like, dude, I will not let you play with all the studies that I've read about concussions.
I know you probably could get through it, but it's not worth the risk.
And that was a playoff game.
Right.
And like, I was home and this was not like, hey, dude, we want someone else in there.
Like, that was the peak of my career.
And he had the ultimate call parts where it was like, you couldn't have went to him and said,
I'm going, I'll do anything to play.
And that's what I told him.
And he was like, yeah, man, like you've clear.
There was one small little gray area that was like, you've checked every concussion protocol,
but there's one thing here that's like, eh, and Pete came in.
It was like, I'm taking this out of your hands.
Like, we don't mess with head stuff here.
There's no world where I think you should play.
And he's like, I just want to let you know, like, nobody's going to think less you, blah, blah, blah,
but like, it's my call and like you're not playing and we're going to need you because we're going to win and go to Carolina.
And I'm like, again, not everyone's like that.
there were rumblings. I didn't experience
it, but there were rumblings when
I was in Detroit that
Mr. Patricia had a
lot of calls with our athletic trainer
telling him to suggest some
things to the players. I don't know, like
nothing ever came to fruition on that.
There were a lot of phantom injuries that year as well.
So that probably... Like telling guys to tell the players
you're good enough to go? Yeah, like that's not,
you know. It's like any given Sunday stuff.
Yeah, there were rumblings about that.
Again, I thought it was a little bit blown
out of proportion.
But, you know, our head trainer did leave after the year, so I don't know if something
happened.
So I don't think it's everywhere, but back to Hertz, like, what's weird, you know, I
can see, like in the old school, I say old school, like, let's call it the 80s NFL,
like something like this occurring.
But like with the amount of medical files, like, anytime, if I went in and got a bag of
ice, if I got a bag of ice, not on my own time, like from a, you.
trainer for a bruise
or contusion as the medical term is.
That makes it in the medical file.
Like I think when I was done, I had a 3,000 page
medical file. So it's like how are
how are they skirting around like
yeah this guy might have blood clots
but we need him to play and now what gets worse is
that's going to permeate throughout the locker room.
I don't care what any of the guys say.
I promise you
just everywhere I went it was always a sauna for us.
Detroit we had a sauna. Okay.
In Seattle was 100% the sauna because we always
were like, yo, this is the one area.
where we know there's no cameras and no one can hear us.
And that was like where all the things went down.
I don't know where it is in Philly,
but I promise you some of the veterans are like,
yo, how did this happen?
This guy's life was on the line from a helping.
That's what at least I'm reading now.
And they let him play.
Yeah.
Well, that's it.
They let him fly.
And like Suryani is going to have to answer for this
and management and the medical staff.
And yet, you know, the flip side of it,
is what you talked about earlier.
Like, it's a violent sport.
And there used to be, remember Ronnie Lott, like cut his finger off to keep playing and stuff like that.
Like, guys have done crazy stuff to play.
And, you know, this would, you got to wonder what Jalen Hertz was thinking throughout this whole thing.
You know, like, what were you, how did you play?
You know, like someone, got to ask him that.
Like, how did you, because he could have pulled himself from the game as well.
I would think, you know, if he, you.
had all the medical information in front of them. Maybe he didn't. Maybe he didn't, you know, and you
trust people, you trust the staff, you have to. I'll tell you what's a tough one, Hayes. And boys,
I don't know if you guys ever been there. Obviously, we're all on television a lot. There are
things that I've said on TV that, like, don't come to fruition. As you've seen our spread talks,
you know, you're going to get it wrong on TV, but a former teammate of mine, and he was our
captain the year, one of our captains, he played fullback. Michael Rob,
Robinson, and I don't know him well, but I loved Mike Rob.
He put a take out there about hurts before this came out.
Oh, that one hurt.
You know what I'm talking about?
I saw it.
He was like, this guy, somebody else is saying they're hurt,
so I'm going to say they're hurt just to get out of Philly, that one?
Yes, yeah, that's why he was our fullback theory, we won the Super Bowl.
Tonkey Central Talk.
And I remember I watched it again this morning because it's everywhere,
and I'm like, yeah, that's why.
You know, sometimes you've got to learn your lesson.
Yeah, that's going to have to be addressed.
There'll be a statement out if there's not already.
Yeah, that's tough.
You know, that's a take that is like, whoa, let's take it outside the box.
I don't know nothing about nothing.
Yeah.
It's like, yeah, you don't know nothing about nothing.
It was bizarre.
And what's weird is like, I get it if you want to make a football take.
But like, I mean, guys, he says it in there like, I'm not a doctor.
And it's like, well, yeah.
Yeah.
You know, that's the end of the conversation.
And I don't even know what, you know, what blood clots are real.
I mean, I know the general premise of them, but that's about as far as my knowledge goes.
No, and we know they're scary.
You know, they can be very, very scary.
And he's done.
And the Eagles, you know, their season now, like the NFC East in general is not very good.
Not very good.
It's pathetic.
It's horrendous.
Like, the Cowboys are pathetic.
The Giants are not any good.
Now Scataboo got benched, and Harbaugh's explanation was...
It's the funniest thing I've seen.
We talked about when Jayonne right show last night.
When Harbaugh said, I don't think you'll get a better answer in a thousand years.
He goes, he's not bench.
I don't know what you mean.
It's like, dude, he was your starting running back.
Three other running backs got carries yesterday,
and a quarterback came in at one point for a wildcat situation got a carry, and he did not.
I don't know what your definition of, quote, unquote, benched is, but that's it.
That is literally it.
You're no longer the starter.
Carbon copy of it.
Like, I was dying him.
And he's getting frustrated with the New York reporters.
But, you know, I got to give credit to Jay Honorable, because he said it.
We were waiting for the show.
Like, I thought it was when he said, I'm like, well, that's a tremendous point.
Like, you get away with the law, media-wise, when you're in Baltimore.
And same thing I would say with Pete Carroll in Seattle.
And obviously you guys know, I love Pete.
But to Seattle media, for the most part, it's pretty easy.
You know?
But, like, Harbaugh can say,
whatever he wants when he does his presser from Owings Mills, Maryland, which is where their facility is.
Okay.
And it's like, yeah, dude, this is the New York football giants.
If you come out here and say he's not benched and then you proceed to barely play him and not give him a carry,
the media is going to call you out on it.
Yes.
Of course.
And then if you don't have any, like he's been around a long time.
Yes, Baltimore is not New York.
Still the NFL.
I agree.
You know, like you're still, you, he's still.
he won a Super Bowl.
The guy went through Media Day and multiple Super Bowls.
He's well aware of what's coming, and he just didn't handle it well,
which makes tonight's game interesting because the commanders are coming off the debacle
against the Giants a week ago, yet Dan Quinn can try and convince his team they could still win the division.
Absolutely, they can win the division.
But they definitely can win the division.
Nine games is winning that division right now.
Like nine wins.
I'll be honest, Hades.
I mean, I haven't looked at the exact math, but I bet there's a way 8-9 wins it.
It very well could.
Because the Giants, I'm just not buying it with James and that whole thing.
I'm not.
I just don't think they're getting 10 wins.
Cowboys have proven it.
Their defense is terrible, and now DAC is stumbling a little bit.
The run game was non-existent last night.
And so was their past game.
You saw it.
The end of the game was garbage time.
Yes.
Yeah.
Yes, exactly.
And they come out.
I thought to start the second half, they get a big three and out quick.
And score.
And then score, I'm like, okay, actually, they might get back into this.
And it just went nowhere.
And credit to the Packers, like, that's two weeks or not.
They're giving up 20 points in two weeks.
Without Parsons, Cooper's done for the year.
Yeah.
And, you know, I have been, I think, fair and honest about my assessment of the way they've played
and kind of the way things have gone.
But their defense is playing.
Their offensive line now, it's three weeks in a row with the same five guys.
I think consistency is working for them.
You know, and Golden's arrived.
You've got to get some props to coaching, Hayes.
You've been hard on the Fleur.
He's a very good regular season coach.
Wow.
Well, just to make adjustments.
Just to make adjustments to get the job done with those key players gone,
that's got to be some good coaching.
Parsons is coming back, and Jacobs could be back soon.
So now of a sudden, because they don't have a running attack,
and that's partially because of the line.
Yeah.
It's also because of talent.
But Green Bay, four and two, man.
Four and two.
You'll take it.
Yes.
You'll take it, but I worry about Green Bay.
Green Bay.
Like even last night, how many drops of they have?
It was crazy.
That's been their consistent theme for three years now, Luke.
I'm with you.
But it's just like, and again, like, I wonder Hayes where it's like, you know,
will Green Bay be okay?
So it's like, is that the standard Green Bay should be judged by right now?
And like, here's the next one.
I know Jordan Love looked better.
I was pretty surprised, like, Collinsworth was just like glazing this dude.
And I generally like Collinsworth.
but he's like Jordan Love looks incredible tonight.
And I'm like, dude, just to give everyone like a perspective here last night,
the highest paid quarterback, and dude, you can fact check me on this,
is Patrick Mahomes.
I think it's like 63.1 Mill maybe.
I don't know if that's exactly right.
Number two in the league is Dak Prescott.
And tied for three is Jordan Love.
Now, in that tie as Stafford, Josh Allen, like, hey, you're a Packers guy.
Do you watch Jordan Love last night and say, yeah, this guy has the same,
quarterbacking ability as
Josh Allen or Matthew Stafford?
No. No. No. Or Mahomes. He's not in that
level. He's in the level below
that. I think he can't, you know,
he's a capable quarterback. He's not,
I'm not bracing for him to win
MVP's or
or be an upper echelon guy. I think
I've seen enough of him and his tape
to think, like he doesn't have the it factor.
He's got a very live arm.
He's mobile. Like,
I think he makes pretty good
reads, Luke, you know, and I think he
has suffered from a bad offensive line and a lot of wide receivers who have dropped balls.
You know, that's the truth.
And Tucker Kraft hasn't been, they're waiting for him to really get cooking.
You know, like Golden has arrived.
You bring Jacobs back.
If Kraft can take a step, I still think he can be, you know, could he be the eighth
best quarterback in the league?
I think he can be that.
Like, I think he can get.
That's fair, but that's where I'm like, you know, you said eight-tenth best QB,
which means then some other part of their game, whether it's their run game,
which even with Jacobs back, if that does happen,
I don't think that it's ever going to be, you know, dominant.
So now it's like, okay, defensively they're going to need to be dominant.
And again, they looked better.
I think part of that was the Cowboys were pathetic.
But it's like, is this team, you know, a serious NFC contender as far as getting to the Super Bowl?
And my answer would be no.
Yeah, I would say no compared to the Niners.
Yet, again, Seattle and the Rams, very sloppy.
recently.
What were you at?
The Vikes?
Vikings, again, I just, I'll take, I would take Packers Vikings in the first round.
If you give me that opportunity, if I'm a Green Bay fan, I'm like, I'll see what Kyler Murray's
got under the brightest lights.
Yeah, that's fair.
I'll believe it when I see it with Murray.
You know, that defense has been phenomenal, but I'll believe it when I see it.
But bears are flawed.
The lion's defense is horrendous.
In the east and the south are not real players, you know, like, so someone's going to get in
and get hot, and I guess that that's kind of the point.
And when you look at the game tonight, and we're on it, the line 7 and a half.
That's a greasy hook.
It's a weird line.
Because the Niners, we have faded them multiple times and got burned this year, which is stupid.
But they have so many injuries.
Yeah.
And I have not heard about Mike Evans yet, but I know Debo's out.
Obviously, Bose has been out all year.
But like on the offensive side of the ball, they got a lot of injuries here.
And I look at last week in Washington, and this is a fork in the road.
It's either Dan Quinn and Jaden Day.
Daniels, take it personally, and say that was embarrassing.
And we're going to show that we've learned from it.
We're not going to allow it to happen again.
Or it's going to completely collapse them.
I'm going to lean towards it being a learning experience.
He's going to do it.
I'm going to take the points tonight.
We're going to take Washington seven and a half.
Listen, I get the Niners are clearly the better team.
Clearly.
So you're giving us Brock Purdy.
Future MVP Brock Purdy.
We're going to give you Brock Purdy in the Niners again.
We're doing it again.
We faded them in Australia, faded them in Seattle.
Let me ask you this.
Did you face time that bozo on the cruise ship?
No, I've not heard a word from him.
He's in Rome.
I don't know what he's doing.
Coliseum or something.
I don't know what else brother's doing.
But I have not heard from him, and I am going to leave him alone,
and I intend on him coming home with a double-digit lead when he arrives.
Double-digit.
Hashtags stay focus.
Stay focused.
Believe in God and stay-focused parts.
I love you, man.
After Allen's performance yesterday, you would still have Purdy ahead of him for the MVP through six weeks, depending on what we said tonight.
It depends on, I mean, dude, he's statistically better in almost every category.
Is he not?
Like QBR, pass rating, I'll check.
We'll see what Purdy does tonight.
But like, listen, I know that Josh Allen is like more physically gifted, you know, running the ball, crazy plays.
but like that being said
I mean you see
Purdy's not that far behind him
and if he pairs is up today
one they're undefeated two they're in a tougher division
three they have I would argue
bigger wins but you could argue that point
where like right now you know the Niners
go into Seattle that was a pretty wild
one you know they beat the Rams which isn't
as impressive at the moment but I think
given the Rams upcoming schedule
will look good
again
it's close it's close and it's
close and it depends on like, you know, there's a lot of things.
Alan, I believe, is at Thanksgiving they play the Chiefs.
Like, what's tough for Josh is if they don't win the division and the Niners do,
I think that's more so going to speak volumes in the stats in itself.
But when Josh does stuff like this, which was, I mean, this was pretty fun to watch.
What?
This is like Brett Farf.
What kind of throw was that?
Like it was a punch throw or something.
That is totally Brett Farve, man.
I'll tell you what scares me, and I don't do he has the end zone.
Here, this will be fine.
Look at the ball security, though, boys.
Listen, I get it's an unbelievable play, and I'm not taking anything away.
I'm not taking anything away.
Like, the guy is an absolute freak.
But your defense is putrid.
We got guys spitting on people and getting kicked out of the game.
Stupid.
That's crazy.
Like, it's just the margin of error is not as big as I'd like it to be.
If you're a Bill's fan.
Like, I always felt like in Seattle, when we had the Legion of Boom,
we could kind of play badly on offense.
Like, we had a pretty big margin of error because there was like,
and now we try not to.
We were very, every week was like,
just don't turn the ball over and we'll be fine.
You know, where it's like I get a little nervous where it's like one turnover.
Like that game yesterday.
You know, they go in, it's a tough game.
Raiders on the road, but it's an AFC game.
And it's like they're one turnover away from losing that game.
That's because their defense is putrid.
They're not very good.
They give up a lot.
They give up a lot.
Tough.
All right, Luke.
We'll catch you tonight.
Cheers, boys.
Part, sorry with the Cowboys.
I'll lock back in.
I'll lock back in.
Lock him back in.
All right, there he is.
Luke Wilson joining us here.
Monday nighter tonight.
Leaf Sharks on TSM Radio tonight.
You can hear it exclusively on TSM Radio tonight,
leave sharks.
And we'll get to our best bets a little bit later in the hour.
Something to chew on coming up as well.

Something to chew on.
I'm brought to you by Boston Pizza.
Canada's favorite sports bar.
Enjoy $15 lunch at BP where you get an
entree of a side and a drink and you'll get it all in 20
minutes or less. So fast lunch doesn't have
to be fast food. See you for a
$15 fast lunch of your local Boston pizza.
We've been asking with Stenberg
in town tonight. So you got
McKenna the first overall pick against the
second overall pick.
And you got Matthews playing tonight. That's a first
overall pick. You got Celebrini.
You got Misa, who's a second overall
pick. Asking the question,
what is the greatest one-two-pick battle
this century.
Is it the 04 draft, Ovechkin and Malkin, OV1, Malkin 2, the 15 draft, McDavid
won Eichel 2.
Then there was the Stamcoe Dowdy draft that Tavares Headman draft.
Which one would you guys choose if you were picking based on just the style of play, production,
how great these guys are?
For me, it might be Doughty Stamco's, because Stammer was just,
lighting the league on fire.
I think he ripped home 61 year,
playing with Marty St. Louis.
And Drew Dowdy was completely doing his
business a different way. And
he made the Olympic team early, gold
medal, a couple Stanley Cups.
And then Tampa, Stammer came back
on his side and did his thing. That was
a pretty good one-two tandem right there.
Very good. Yeah.
The rate of success that they
had, it's hard to
challenge. And Jamie, that's what
the franchise when they are terrible and they have that selection, that's what you're hoping,
that that guy that you draft at one or two can be that guy to turn the franchise around
and get you in a position to win a cup.
And both of them did it.
They did.
And here's the one thing that people need to realize about a guy like Stephen Stamcoast.
You remember him at 18?
He wasn't strong enough.
He was getting benched.
He wasn't, you know, the coaching staff, I think it was Barry Melrose.
They were taking some heat to not playing in.
The whole organization was kind of a mess.
It was, but think about it, though.
It took Stamco's a few years to figure it out.
But, you know, if you're just looking at straight out, I mean, McDavid and Ikel's pretty
tough, but they haven't had this success that some of the others have.
That's what it is, the longevity.
But McDavid and Ikel on paper look pretty damn good, too.
Yeah, like of all the players, McDavid.
is McDavid's the best.
You know, as great as OVie is, and, you know, we discussed this when he announced his retirement
or that it's forthcoming, that I think he, you make a strong argument he's a top ten player all
time.
I think McDavid already has, too.
You know, McDavid, of all these eight players available, are the best.
But OV's got the records, the Stanley Cup.
Malkins got multiple cups, including a Kahn-Smith, where his team won it.
McDavid's got one where his team lost it.
and Ico left Buffalo to have his success, which kind of complicates, you know, his legacy and his history as the second overall pick because he is not going to be remembered as a Buffalo Sabre.
No one's going to remember Jack Eichl as a saber.
Somewhat similarly to Tavaros and the Islanders, although he didn't leave in the same fashion.
He's, you know, he's going to finish his career in Toronto and play the last 11, 12 years as a leave.
And he's from here.
So, you know, I would, I would lean McDavid Eichael because of the McDavid.
David factor because, you know, it's such a great pick, but so is Ovechkin.
Like OVie is a first overall pick.
The, like, and the difference there is, you know, we said it when, when Edmonton
won the lottery, I remember coming on the other next day and saying, you know, what a win
for Edmonton.
Obviously, we all knew what he was going to be, but he was never, it was impossible from
to catch Gretzky where OV is the clear-cut best player in franchise history.
There's no one even close in Washington.
Dude, would you become the all-time goalie?
Peter, you're just, it's not even close.
It's not even close.
Who's the next bet?
That's a great question.
Is Peter Bondra number two for Washington?
Somebody like Baxter.
Like, who's the number two player for the Washington Capitals and his, it might be only Colzic?
Great question.
It's a distant, you know, distant two.
It might be our guy, Dale Hunter.
Oh, my.
Dale Hunter.
Who didn't see Pierre Turgeon, right?
He didn't see him.
That's right.
Hans put up a lot of points with the caps.
Yeah, he did.
Yeah.
Like you mentioned, Bondra, he would be high on that list.
But his teammates, Baxter, like he said, John Carlson was a great Washington capital.
Yeah, it's true.
And same thing with Malkin.
Like, Malkin walked in Hall of Famer, all-time great player.
And from day one, he's been the second best player in his team.
He's never been the best player in his own team because he showed up when Sid showed up.
You know, so Sid's always kind of.
I bet you he secretly enjoyed that, though, or end of a birthday.
appreciated it where it was it was sid's got to answer the questions and i can do my thing and
be gino and it it i would believe he would think so too it helped him tremendously well and i
think that helps thenberg and me so that celebrini's there and you know different timelines but
mchenna's showing up this focus is still on matthews you know and still on nilander and you know
really was sick today and didn't take the skate i'm sure he's going to play tonight i'd be surprised
to be didn't.
And, you know, he's insulated, but McKenna's coming in at a time where there aren't really
any other younger guys.
You know, it's him and Cowan and then a bunch of older players, you know.
Yeah.
Like, there are completely different timelines in terms of their career.
And yet McKenna, you know, I appreciated his comments today where, you know, he's echoing
what Matthews have been saying.
I think Matthews has been singing the right tunes.
It starts with me, starts with leadership.
We got to be better.
All right.
Let's see it then.
see it that exactly and i got to ask you guys if we've been positive and we say it's a big week and
you got to have urgency in this and that what's the play if they stink to join out and things
aren't looking so good what what is the play like the players they just play it out there's
they played all their cards they they have a new gm a new coach and 12 new players okay well how
does that how does that affect the impressing of austin matthews
I wonder that.
Well, they've done everything they possibly can, I think, to make him feel that they're all in on boosting his confidence, his value, his legacy.
You know, like Jack Rossovick's here, who's been good.
Like, Rossovic's been good.
Not bad.
I'll give that kid credit.
He's been not bad.
Absolutely.
He's been very good.
He's here for Matthews.
I think they made the Nyes deal for Marchenko for Matthews.
I think Jim Hiller is here because of his relationship with Austin Matthews, you know,
like he was his assistant coach, the first few years of his career.
Jim Hathen signed off on that.
Some of his responses, like, it sounded like a response to a pee-wee mom that sent in a question that said,
how come you guys are like choking away leads and you're not aggressive?
And he was like, yeah, if that happens again, we're going to be a little bit more aggressive.
I'm like, that one.
That one stung.
He's not the most, you know.
You know what he is?
He's got a little Chris Knoblock in him.
Yes.
Kind of just very.
Great comparison.
Even tempered, very poised.
Yep.
Doesn't look flustered.
Just kind of, now whether you like that or not,
but that's, his demeanor is a lot like that.
Just very calm.
And, you know, people get frustrated by it.
I don't believe so.
Great comparison.
Because, you know, Toronto historically has.
always had kind of larger than life personalities.
Maybe Sheldon Keef notwithstanding because Keith was a little bit different.
But, you know, in my lifetime, Pat Burns and Pat Quinn and Paul Maurice, Ron Wilson, you know, like Ron Wilson was like bringing it on.
Big time personalities.
Randy Carlis.
Randy, Babcock, you know, Craig Barubei, larger than life guys that had an aura to them, you know.
And Hiller is kind of, he's different.
than that.
Like, his approach is the way he talks, the way he kind of describes what's happening and where
they're going.
And listen, it doesn't really matter how you handle the off-the-ice stuff.
Everything comes down to winning.
You know, like the Oilers have done Mike Babcock such a favor by having the start that
they've had because now it's just the noise is gone.
Now it's the brilliance of Babcock.
Mike Babcock's like grabbing the mic and asking the Oilers reporter question.
It's a fun guy, Mike Babcock.
Oh, fun guys.
Fun guys are.
All you got to do is win for that.
Well, it doesn't hurt.
Did I see that stat right that that was the 18th time McDavid's had five points?
Did that, did I read that stat right?
I did not read that stat, but I would not be surprised.
I think Gretzky had 96 times.
I think it's either 14 or 18 times McDavid in his career has had a five-point night already.
I saw that board and Gretzky was up top.
I think 98 times he had five points in a game.
I'm not kidding you.
That can't be real.
Juki, look it up how many times Gretz had five points in a game?
I'm telling you, it's like 98.
I don't, that's a lot.
Dude, that's 500 points in a season and two months.
Like, in real game play.
But, I mean, Gretzky had 2,200 points or whatever he had.
Sorry, he did it 96 times.
Gretzky had five points.
96 times.
That's insane.
That's actually, I didn't think I could be blown away by a Gretzky stack because I've seen them all, heard them all.
That might be the craziest one.
Five point nights.
96 times.
That's on average, like, every fifth game of his career.
You know, like every, maybe a little more than that.
Every 10 or 11 games is like, man, I better have five tonight.
Second is Mario, I guess how many?
48.
80.
52 times.
52.
52 times Le Magnifice had five points.
I got into a rabbit hole over the weekend again because I was watching the Gretzky stuff with him, you know, passing Gordie Howe.
And then it just became a big thing about Gretzky.
And then Mario would float in there with his clips.
And like Mario missed so many games and retired and left for years.
he would be way over 2,000 points.
Oh, my God.
He would have been 25, 26, 2,700 points.
I'm not sure if anybody had, like, if you're into, like, moves and goals and making people look stupid,
I don't know if his rabbit hole is, like, anyone has a more disgusting rabbit hole than Marios.
No.
Like, outrageous.
Smaller sample size would be a guy like that Datsuk.
Datsu could probably have a shorter, but, like, that's what Mario used to do to people just for fun.
Yes.
Like just for, like,
because you're right,
Gratzky would not embarrass people necessarily,
you know,
like he would.
He would dangle sometimes
and he would make plays that no one else could make,
clearly.
But Lemieux,
like I just was literally a couple of breaks ago.
I don't know why it showed up.
His cup final goal against the North Stars
where he just dances the guy like end-to-end.
Dude, that was Raymond Bork.
No, this was Minnesota.
He did it again.
But he did that against Ray Chambers.
Chalmers.
Sean Chambers.
Sean Chambers.
Yeah.
Right.
Dude, poor Sean Chambers, they did him dirty.
The statue in Pittsburgh in front of the new rink,
Sean Chambers is in the statue.
I love it.
That is the worst.
Imagine being in a statue when you're getting rinsed.
Like, that's the worst part.
Yeah, it's not good.
But Lemieux did have, because he would slow things down.
And that's what made it.
Dude, lateral movement, like on a breakaway, he could put the
puck out there and the goalie would jump in the corner and then he would bring it back to the left.
It was insane.
I know.
And his stick was such a piece of garbage.
I'm telling you, this thing was a brick wooden coho with a straight blade on it.
And I'm like, what is this trash?
There's a chamber.
Outside, inside.
That is so dirty.
John Casey and Net, too.
Yeah.
Like, it's such a great call by Bob Cole, too, because he.
just he's winding up he's like here's lemieux and then he's like oh my goodness he's like in shock
he can't believe how great of a goal it is i'd love to do a rabbit hole ranking for different categories
who would like best fighters to search up love that stuff even just on like great calls
you know like obviously i love bob cole look how gross this movie is again oh my word
actually i will say do you know who had one of the best goal calls with rick januette was it mayday
Oh, yeah, May Day's overtime.
That was Ray Bork that he walked, too, wasn't it?
That's right.
It was Ray Bork.
That was a great call by Jennerette.
All-time great.
And May Day's reaction is on reaching on the ice, May Day, May Day.
I know.
That one was, that's an all-time.
You're right.
Because Ray Bork did get burned by Lemieux, too, in the Cup final, or maybe it wasn't
a Cup final, but.
Conference finals, Pittsburgh versus Boston.
He just, Raymond Bork was skating forwards because,
he didn't want to get jammed up, and he's looking behind him, and Mario's literally feathering it through his legs and stuff, and it's insane.
And then he gets in on Andy Moog and absolutely roost it, like, directly under the bar.
It's gross.
It's gross.
Yeah.
When you're a defenseman skating forward and you're getting dangled, it's a terrifying scenario.
Just lay down.
Yeah, like, just lay down.
But, yeah, we should, even some of the great Bob Cole calls alone, like on the Lou's Muse.
He called the Griskey Cole.
Some of his Leaf goals.
Oh, he had so many great ones.
Oh, my word.
And that playoff runs in 92 and 93?
Who had the call where Dougie did the circle?
Yeah, that one was Bob Cole.
Gilmore, solo job.
Like, that's what he yells out, solo job.
And the Leafs win it.
It's such a great call.
All right, Best Betts coming up.

and seconds on the Fandual Sportsbook app.
I heard Wes and Cause talking about Futures Day earlier today on the Fandall
sports book app the NBA started tomorrow
and they had a great bet minus 120
for the Rathters to finish top six in the
east I like that a lot
the east is tough it's going to be very good
like the Nicks are good the Celtics are
looking to be back and you know Detroit's
a good team and there's been
trades Miami's got Yannis now
LeBron's in Philly
you know it's not going to be an easy year
but I think the Raptors are equipped
defensively to be a very very good team
so I can't wait for that to start tomorrow
and you can find all your future bets of course
on the Fandole Sportsbook app.
Best bets powered by Fandreau.
Same game, Parley's available for every NBA game.

Washington.
Last time we're going to fade the Niners unless they hook us up tonight.
And the Leafs keep using buzzwords, right?
urgency.
Urgency is the word.
I want to see it, and I'll have no issue.
You give me urgency, attack mentality,
Fortitude to get to the middle, I got no issues.
If you think after that, it is what it is.
We'll see what we've got.
