What's going on?
How we doing? Yesterday, I made a selection and the man's name was Denny
McCarthy and he shot 64 today
Shout out to Denny. All right. Well my boy Rory. I thought he was on fire yesterday, but not today
No, he's had enough. I think he's over par and that's
today. No, he's had enough. I think he's over par and that's a shame. But ultimately everyone's playing for second because my boy, Scotty Scheffler is on fire again today. Yeah. It
seems like Rory. It's like any blip. It's just off the rails and out of the tournament.
It's crazy stuff to watch. Yeah, it is weird to watch, you know, someone of his, his stature
and you know, that happens in sports. you know, I was talking to someone this afternoon about
The Oilers, you know felt like after they lost game five. They're like we're done. We're not winning this, you know
And whether that's true or not
I don't know that was the impression you got like which was crazy about the Leafs Hays because they got crushed in game five
And what do they do?
They go to Florida and win game six and look dynamic and you're like great exactly
Exactly, and it's just like there's no way they could repeat the performance of game five
And it was the exact same one if anything worse because it was game seven, but you're right. It's
You know confidence is a crazy thing in pro sports. Yeah, I man those boys down in Florida
They're just relentless with some other chants and like, wow, they're just screw McDavid in the bar. Like what's
well, they're also I mean, just I know they're blasted, but it's like they're relentless. Like
they'll come up with any offensive chant just to rub it into the oilers and say, guys,
chew on this one. When you win you can do whatever you want man.
Yeah that's true.
I guess.
Yeah if you win you got a problem with it you could have beat them.
And listen that is setting up for whoever knocks them out which will happen at some
point.
Someone will beat them.
They are going to take a beating when that happens.
Like the whole world.
It's almost amazing how people feel about this panthers team like a lot of it i think
is just steeped in jealousy and i'll admit that but hatred though like
regular hockey fans are like they're so dirty and i can't believe they went all
the time and i'm like yeah but they're really good they're like i don't care
and they always throw out terms like i have no respect for them they're really good. They're like, I don't care. And they always throw out terms like, I have no respect for them. They're so dirty and they just don't deserve this. I'm like,
I don't understand the comments.
You know what that is? That's today's world where they hand out participation badges.
That's where you can hand the participation badge out or the people who play for keeps,
they win. That's the difference. Those guys are drunk in the bar and doing whatever they
want because they're two-time champions man
They don't need to apologize for anything. Oh, I'm not anticipating they will
I don't think they will in or nor should they but when someone gets them
Someone's gonna get them and they're gonna be really happy when they go. It's different
I guess you're right because when Tampa had all I don't think Tampa had that layer of like
We'll call it arrogance arrogance at you to you what you whatever
i mean cooter off was the most chippy what guy and he just
was drunk with his shirt off on the podium that we had a lot of a long term
i are in the face but
sprightly like last night
there are for dinner and and brad marshawns on instagram thanking the
organization passed up gave up on players
you know Instagram thanking the organizations that gave up on players.
You know?
Thank you Buffalo Stakes for trying to outrun us.
That's what I mean about some of the chance.
This is like, man, that's just relentless.
Thank Buffalo.
That's flames.
I know.
But I don't think every example of the player or the team was like, we hate you, we quit
on you.
It's just like, I don't know.
But they're just, they're, they're in
go mode, man. They're, they're right into it and they're ready to rock.
So I, I laughed this morning. I was, you know, you watched all of the celebrations. I mean,
there were so many like thanking.
By the way, you guys are on Instagram. How long would it take to make that post? That
looked like it would take an hour.
They, yeah, you're right. I don't, I're right. I don't take a long time. Yeah, I wouldn't be able to do it
But they were you know, they were having a great time and I mean they brought in you know fans and stuff like that
There's that Caesar guy. I don't know if you saw that the video of Caesar and
Matthew Kachak's pouring a whole bottle of
And Matthew Kachuk's pouring a whole bottle of champagne on his head and he's moving around. I swear to God it looked like he was trying hard to breathe.
Like he looked like he was like they were over like he was getting water.
He was getting water.
He was getting like you see the video.
You tell me.
But I was dying.
I was so happy for him because he listen the Jicklets made made him a star and he's a huge fan. They brought him into the fold and they know he's a big Panthers fan but
they included him and it was awesome. I loved it but there was a line where I was like,
oh my God, I don't think he's going to be able to breathe through all that. They were
literally pouring like a gallon of champagne on his
Yeah, no
Just know it's got to be the most freeing time of your life like you've just won
You're all millionaires and you've got about a week to do whatever the hell you want it's just a free pass to do whatever you want and
That is clearly
what Florida is doing. But yeah, it is amazing the path that they've left behind them. You
know, like we've discussed that the last couple of days where Carolina, Rod Brindlemore is
all bent out of shape and now they got to get bigger and they're going to try to spend
money and the leaves Shanahan's gone and Marner's probably gone and maybe Tavares and they're talking about
DNA and all that
Every team's got big plans and promises now
Yeah
well even Edmonton like Stan Bowman came out and I
Appreciate how forthright he was and honest and he said, you know go tending and forwards there will be changes
Yeah, and but I don't see or hear that too often like
forwards it's one thing because it's more of uh...
it innocuous com here you know
forwards can be a god all these talk about me
the goal is
the issue is i don't know you to have a half yeah exactly
he didn't pull punches and i watched the whole twenty eight minutes or whatever
it was then
and you know he was saying like i i'm gonna let it breathe a little bit because he goes listen we had a great year we had some
challenges but he also said like he goes even if we would have won there's always
change so he said yes I like our D but I'm gonna zero in like you said Hayes
on the the forwards and the goaltending and take a look at them and see what
they where the options are.
And rightfully so.
We've been talking about it.
This is how many years have we done it?
Nine years in a row where it's like, hey, Leafs are going to run it back, run it back.
If anything, a team that made it to the finals two times in a row could go, no, we were a
bounce here, we were a bounce there, let's run it back.
He's gone, no, we need change. we need to adapt, we need to continue.
You know, he said, I like a lot of our players in their prime, and he said there are guys
that we want to get a couple younger guys that can get better throughout the season.
That's crazy comment though, that one, Noodles, when you let the other two guys go last year,
it's like younger, bigger, fast, like.
Yeah, but yeah.
Maybe match a couple of options.
Well, I would have matched one for sure.
Not crazy money, but I don't know. To me, it got to sense where there was like Corey
Perry, everybody's in love with the guy, but maybe they're not going to step up and say
you're coming back, even if it's at bottom of the barrel. I don't know. I thought he
was pretty damn good all year.
I'd bring him back, absolutely. Like that's not, Corey Perry's not their problem.
Yeah, but the thing is, when you come out with these promises and big projections where
it was like, we're going to attack this and fix that, it's like, you got to have some
want from the player or the play, you know what I mean? Like it's not like you just snap
your fingers in this player's, like what goaltender are they going to get and what I take from the comments about goaltending is they want
a guy not to compliment Stewart Skinner like some suggest because he only makes
two million or two seven five they want somebody better than him so who the hell
is that I think it's somebody different that's what I keep saying different like
I I think there's lots of goaltenders out there that are different.
They might not have the statistics.
I know, but Jamie, it would be so scary.
I don't want to dump on the guy.
The guy's an NHL goaltender.
He's done some amazing things.
Right.
But the idea of him stealing the net back over the different guy during the year and
then having a repeat again in the performance, like in the playoffs, would scare the living bejesus out of me.
I think you are moving him in a package to get somebody who's different.
That would be my...
I think Calvin Pickard had a million dollars who gave you 22 wins last year.
I don't think he is a guy that...
I think he's a clear-cut, you know 1B, you know, 2.
I don't think I think you're looking and you're saying the guy that we've had is our 1
Has had played 82 games last year like he's been durable
Inconsistent year this year, but had two resets. He's had two resets in the playoffs
So I think you're looking at it going we needed somebody different playing for us in the playoffs and if there is an injury yes we know we can go to
picket your sand picket stays the differences literally skinners out a
new guys in the time a statistically not
well i don't see how it could still have a little better
but not a best in the guy it's just someone has no guy available well
exactly that's my point and that's what everyone recognizes so
you know i guess you know ultimately get to my point and that's what everyone recognizes. So, you know, I
guess, you know, ultimately you got to find out who that's going to be. But I'm not bracing
for it to be anyone of impact where if you're McDavid and company, you can feel great until
you see it. Well, that's the whole thing. 100%. I mean, until you see them play and
perform whoever you put in there on paper that's the 23rd
best goalie in the league is not going to...
I'm sure New Jersey was like, you know what, we got our goal tanning sorted out, guys.
And then Markstrom, I think he was good.
I don't think he was great there.
Then got hurt at one point, too.
You're right.
But let me ask you guys this, because it actually...
We all lived it.
Did you think Anthony Stollars was going to be the way he was?
That's a very valid point.
It got him all in.
But he goes to a good team, and he plays very well, and they watched him.
Obviously, Anthony Stollers has been a fantastic goaltender statistically the last couple years.
So they go, okay, maybe he's going to fit into where we like or the way that we play.
So that's what you need to do. store where they sign for him for two eight
Yeah, something like that's doing it. He's been a hell of a goaltender. Yes. He only played 34 games. So was
Sample size wasn't there. He'd only played 28 or 29
My point is is you've got to find that's why I keep saying the word different
Because it's not it might not be somebody that jumps off the page.
You're like, hmm, that guy played in, that guy's brought up the list of names.
If it's Merzlikin's in Columbus, he's been buried there.
Like, can he play? I don't know. Is he going to look different in Edmonton?
I'm sure they've got three or four goaltenders that have circled that might not jump off the page for us.
But you're going, okay, let's see, give him give him a chance and see what he looks like behind that team that team that can either play
tighter or outscore their issues and and you know I think a change of pace might
be different like you're right Brian they're not bringing in a Vezna winner
because I just don't see anybody available well no and there's very few
players very few goalies that fit that description anymore anyway.
It's like a true number one stud.
There's seven, eight, 10 of them in the league.
So it's just, it's not a reality and yet it's on Bowman and Company to find someone that's
more than just adequate, that's good enough to steal some games and win games and avoid
the collapses that we've seen.
But there's a lot of action already in the league
where Jonathan Taves today signs in Winnipeg.
A one year deal and it's about a two,
two and a half million base with a bunch of bonuses
that would carry over to the next season.
But it's a great story.
Like it's a great story that the great Jonathan Taves,
who could have never played another game again
the rest of his life and gone right into the Hall of Fame
His number will be retired. He's probably a statue guy in Chicago
I would think oh big time stays within the division goes to his hometown a very good team in
Winnipeg that opens the door like shyfully would be there one one see and
Then I don't know. I mean, I don't think you can ask tapes to be your number two guy immediately
No, I think the hope is at some point you can get there. It may not be attainable. It's it's completely
I know what is January you're hoping that he could be the two guy
That's kind of what you're hoping for and Lowry's a perfect number three, you know
You moved in to Mystica back to the wing I think and maybe there's Eler's walks and you know, whatever it's gonna be
But if if you've got Jonathan Taves,
just in terms of a feel-good story,
which doesn't add to the win-loss column,
but it's a great story.
If you're a Jets fan today,
it's just gotta be one of the coolest things ever.
Local guy, hero growing up, world junior hero,
absolutely tormented the division forever as the captain
of the Blackhawks when they were at their height.
Hasn't played in a few years.
Don't know what he's got left, 37 years old, one year deal.
You know, yes, it's a lot of money if he hits all the bonuses, but that carries over the
next year.
And the Jets rarely, if ever, spend the cap.
So you know, they're going're gonna have even if they get a
on some of the bonuses i don't think it's gonna be an issue for them
uh... i think it's a really good play and i i'm really curious to see what
he's got
because how many times that we talk about
jonathan caves on our show
ten years ago
eleven twelve years ago i mean this guy he was the man and that he was him and
said for the longest time like you know i was a three p was a mean this guy he was the man and it was him and said
for the longest time like you know i have three p was a three-pack he was so
good that people would talk
would you take him we i think we've had all the crazy discussions like is it him
or is it said which one would you take
you know i mean like it was that
close where people were like
god it's it's a tough call on which guy.
One guy is more dynamic offensively, but the other guy is so good in the playoffs, so responsible,
match-up guy, clutch.
And it's like there was showtime, but Jonathan Taze, man, he scored some unbelievable goals
for the Blackhawks in big moments.
That guy was so good.
The problem is, guys, it's just like Patrick Kane.
We're talking 10, 11 years ago.
What is the product right now?
Because if you think it's just going to be Jonathan Tay's of Mr. Serious with the sea
on in Chicago, it ain't him right now.
No, that's where I'm not sure you can... It might be ambitious to pencil him in as your number two center like he may have to start on the fourth
Line and ease him in you know nothing like ten minutes eleven minutes, and and then who knows you know like and then who knows?
But it's definitely worth a flyer on the guy
Absolutely, and you shot you also mentioned the bonuses
Absolutely. You're going to give him a shot.
You also mentioned the bonuses.
If he achieves all of them, that means he had a good year.
That means he played a bunch of games that probably contributed all of that type of stuff.
If he only plays half the games, then yeah, he stays in the four million range type of
thing.
But I look at it, I think it's a flyer.
He's familiar with the city, knows it,
obviously has a relationship with people around there.
I think it's a terrific signing, and you're right,
like he's gonna decide where he's gonna play
in that lineup by how fresh he is,
how quickly he can get up to game speed,
how his game will translate to today's game.
Let's not forget, like he's not 28 anymore.
So by the end, the end is the wrong word, but by the time he stopped playing,
Father Time was catching up to him. So he's got to adapt his game a little bit into today's game,
which is more of a young person's game. Yeah, well, and that's true to like you know you obviously had some struggles of health wise and by the end chicago was done
ran yeah he had he was not
the same planning won't be and and that's the i guess that's or say like
the raven asking him to be the second line center by midseason may just simply
be too ambitious
right and he may just be a fourth line
depth guy
uh...
anything else a reality.
That could be anything.
It could be anything.
It could be he shows up and he just can't get back going again.
That's possible too.
I doubt it.
I'm sure he's in incredible shape and clearly Winnipeg's done their due diligence.
It's been reported on for a while.
He's been skating for a long time.
I'm sure he's ready to go and ready to play.
But it is a wide chasm here in terms of the possibilities of what Taves looks like.
But just the idea of him being in a Canadian market, being in Winnipeg the season that
they had last year, it's a great start to the offseason for them.
And you know, that's what's going to be interesting with all these Canadian teams moving forward
is you know, you talk, we joke about a DNA change and
a different voice and we said yesterday we're not saying I understand but you know Taze walks in
there and if he's playing every night that that takes a load off Shifely it takes a load off
Lowry and I'm curious where the Leafs are gonna go from here like everyone's connected Brad Marchand
to the Leafs right that's the guy he's got to come up here You just got to pay him. You got to get him in here
Partially because of well how well he's played partially because he's been a winner because of what he's done to the Leafs
But there's also an element of of his personality
And his approach and the way he sees the world and the way that he interacts with people and you know
You put him in in a room like the Leafs room
Matthews is a
quiet guy like outwardly. I don't know what he's like behind the scenes but you
know he talks to the media does his thing but he's not a big personality.
It's just the same as Brian McCabe described as Barkov. Yeah. You know what I
mean? He's like Barky is a quiet guy, he's a great leader, leads by example on the
ice but they brought in Matthew Kachuk and he took a lot of he absorbed a lot of the kind of raw raw kind of leadership type of stuff
yep and I think Marchand could really benefit from that or the
Leafs could really benefit from Marchand being here to do that but you got to let
him be free you got to let him be himself. I know but you know how the deal goes
guys it wouldn't be Brad Marchand the guy that's scoring a zillion goals on the third line
It would be opening lineups
He'd be on Austin Matthews left wing and it's like you're a first line left winger now
And then all of a sudden it turns into disappointment. Where's the Brad Marsh? Do you know what I'm talking about?
Like yeah, it's a perfect situation in Florida like listen there's a Taves comparison, not as extreme, but it's
possible Marshanders played like that's the best it's going to be and it popped. And that
was his, his encore, you know, and it was an incredible one, three months in Florida,
wins the cop third line, perfectly situated. And you know, there's, there's a Patrick Marlowe
element to this totally different player, totally different approach and personality.
But Marlowe, it was 37, bring him up here, give him a lot of money, three years and two
years in, you're like, they're in big trouble here.
Got to get out from underneath this.
And the same thing could apply here with Marchand.
Wherever he goes, not just in Toronto, wherever he goes, there's a risk with a 37 year old that just played great on an unbelievable team.
So you wouldn't give him four years at $8 million?
That's what he's looking for, by my understanding, right?
Yeah, that's what's being reported is, you know, obviously he's going to ask for as much as he can get.
Of course he will and he should. Doesn't mean every other team will give it to him. I don't know, Noodle.
I think you've got to be careful with it.
Yeah, it's a very, it's just a big commitment.
So how do you, like, listen, I'm just Mr. Hypothetical right now.
So if I'm saying, we're talking about what he can bring, a lot of intangibles, and believe
me, I think he was so instrumental in Florida
winning a Stanley Cup just because his injection of life him stabilizing that
third line with Listerine and in London like those guys were just unbelievable
you know his personality settles right in I think there's a lot of things it
was the perfect storm perfect mix so if you're looking to add or change the, you know, oh, we brought that word up, he is a
guy that would check all the boxes. But again, you work in a salary cap era. And, you know,
if term is the currency, and you're trying to get the number down, yeah, maybe he might
not play till he's 41. But if you want him in and you think is a window
right now, which there is for eight or nine teams, at least one of them, would you pay the 8 million
for him? That's my question. And then let the ultimate question. Well, but it but it's it's a
fair question. If you're trying to get better. And if you're trying to change now, you're not
going to play left-wing
That's that's Matthew Niza spot right now on that top line
But could he be your second line left-wing, you know, there's that spot is wide open for me
You know Bobby McMahon, I think had a chance. I think McMahon is better served as a
Top nine. I don't see him as a top six personally. I don't know how you guys feel.
But I think if there's an appetite, now he might just announce that he's resigned in
Florida. Who knows? Like it sounds like they're going to try and get everybody done. I don't
know what that's going to look like. But if it's a reality or if Toronto is looking at
him, you have to brace yourself that that's what we're looking at.
Yeah. Ultimately, that's what it comes down to.
From my standpoint, just from an entertainment standpoint, I would love to see him in this
market.
I think it would be incredible to watch him perform, to watch him handle everyone, be
right in the middle of everything.
I do think he would have a massive massive benefit
on matthews and if the bars is still here in the lander guys who you know are
just kind of stiff with the media or or short with the meat
let marsh and go out there and talk let him be the personality of the team
uh... and he can still play he has to play you know it can't just be about the
intangible check
checkboxes
he's got to be able to play
but uh...
you know that this is i think
what the whole league is risking here is your chase in florida and like florida
did it
for a god
when you're supposed to get on
right like florida got him
for one run at five million dollars
and
you know they picked up sam bennett was making four point two million
like that's that's dream scenario exactly and now everyone's like all i
want act but i'll give him nine and i want more channel give him a it's like
okay
well then you're probably not gonna be florida
i don't do all that's the thing you're gonna get them but you're not getting
the same one because i know numbers way different exactly
and that that's the...
That's what I meant about the first line thing.
That's the thing you've got to consider.
Yeah.
If you've got a great third line and you want to bring them in for the right number, but
if you want to pay them eight and then there's a big commitment financially and there's four
years, then all of a sudden, excuse me, he's your first line left winger.
And it's like, that wasn't the point of the exercise, right? Right exactly
It's yeah, and that that that's what they're gonna have to figure out and he's got to get there first
He's got to show interest in the Leafs first
But if all that happens and the number is 32 million or whatever I
Would guess the lease will give it to him like that would be my guess
They probably would and I think it would be celebrated again. It would be a lot of fun. But, um, he's not Marlowe, but
there's, there's comparisons.
Well, yeah, different players and all of that.
But Marlowe, remember it was the third year, like this third year is killing them at six
five. Why did they do this? They weren't, you know, it was like, was it that important
where you had to say yes to the third year? Exactly. And they did it. And they did. And they paid for it.
These guys are on a boat. Like Bart Marshan, if you look at his Instagram right now, like
50 minutes ago it's him and Bennett and he goes where are we effing going? Like he's got a question
mark around it and they're sitting on a boat at a bar like it's they're having a time. But he's
certainly trolling. They're having a lot of fun but it's just basically like hey Sam. Where are we going?
Well Sam Bennett last night announced he was
Staying didn't he I mean did you see that yeah, I don't know if you'll Leo DiCaprio
Yeah, I'm sure he's not I mean I'm sure there is agent and the Panthers are already working something
I mean, I don't think anyone expects Sam Bennett to go anywhere
They could happen but it would seem shocking at this the weirdest thing guys now because of social media in real time
You're watching them party
You're in you're literally watching them enjoying themselves because they're posting it or fans are posting it saying these guys are in one at the table
Next to me type of thing. So it's you know you want to tap out though. Well I don't know like I mean I never got
to win a Stanley Cup so I don't know. There's great stories. Oh we've told some to that
Sean Pody and more his gear for 24 hours took a skates off and wore his whole gear right
to the bar right to everything for 24 hours. hours. Probably like four or five days and they're like that, that's an out.
Tapping out. Yeah. Well, yeah, probably.
Their wife and kids are like, hey, you got to come home at any point.
You can see the kids and you know.
Well, that's always what I find interesting now that I'm, you know, older and all that.
Like, yeah, if you're Marchand, it's like you got a wife and kids.
You know, if you're 23 and single you're like I'm going for weeks
Where we going next Europe Vegas some point the married guys are like I have to stop now
This is time
Young single guys give me the copper getting a private bird
We're going to Italy for like what Lake Como for a week with the cup like who I don't care what anybody says young single guy
Is has a different timeline than older married guy
Oh, yeah, we're kids. I think that's true. Everyone understands that
All right week three of the CFL on TSM a boy Luke Wilson Argos
Roughriders tonight borderline must win for the Argos. They're o and two the riders are two and oh, they're coming in hot
We're gonna get Luke will put a quarter in him and to say what's going on
Give us a primer here. Give us a primer and we're getting closer to
Camps opening up in the NFL as well. We're almost into July man by this time next month
It's basically all fired up like we're gonna be at the Hall of Fame game in like a month
It's a beautiful thing
We also have a game seven too and we have a game game seven. And I just, I gotta give full credit to Indiana, man.
Like Indiana, they fight and they showed up
in Halliburton fighting through injury
and he played great last night.
Siakam was unreal.
In Oklahoma City, they looked like they just weren't ready
for the moment and now we got a game seven.
Which you can't ask for anything better.
Game seven with Larry O'Brien in the building.
How many times though have you seen the team
that gets crushed like that?
They just go home and smoke the other team. Yes, well that's it. I mean, in the Denver times though have you seen the team that gets crushed like that they just go home and smoke the other yes
Well, that's it. I mean in the Denver series. It was like that in Denver
I believe one big game six that went to Oklahoma City on like a Sunday afternoon and the Thunder just absolutely smacked them around and
naturally, Oklahoma City is a pretty heavy favorite, but
That's why they play the games man once you get to a
heavy favorite but that's why they play the games man once you get to a winner take all Indiana they're in it man it's been a great NBA finals it's been a
great series Jays with the White Sox in town tonight we'll get to that as well
overdrive continues TSN 1050 and on TSN 4 all right overdrive continues powered
by FanDuel bringing you everything from the opening line to the final score. Mike Johnson
in about a half an hour and Jay's with the White Sox in town tonight. Beautiful night,
dome open type of night and it'll be packed downtown because the Argos are at home playing
the Rough Riders tonight and the Argos are not off to a good start. Not off to a good
start and it sounds as if our main man, Luke Wilson,
will be making an appearance on the sideline tonight.
Should be. He's been awesome.
Is he going to bike to the game?
That's a great question. I don't see why not.
So that video with him on his bike and he says, Hey, Partzy, is that you filming that?
Me? You think I'm out there biking with him?
No, I thought he was, I thought you were in
a car. Somebody was filming him on a bike and I was like, I thought that was the day
you saw him in your car. No, dude. I don't know who that was. He's got a whole camera
crew. Oh, he's got cronies. Yeah, he's got cronies. Maybe it was Al's brother. I thought
that was you, old dog. I swear. People were like, oh, and Luke Wilson up for a bike ride. I thought that was you filming Oh, I swear to God always jumping on a bike in the middle of this one
He goes a part C. That's what I thought he was talking to me, but I ain't on a bike
Yeah, it's a guy on a bike. I thought it was haze. I thought it was you. It's not me man
I don't bike. That's I drive. Here's Luke Wilson
the CFL on TSN
What's up with the camera crew you wheeling around and you are you gonna bike down a beam? Oh, okay Here's Luke Wilson of the CFL on TSN.
What's up with the camera crew?
You wheeling around and are you going to bike down in B mode tonight?
Let's get some things clear here, right?
I need to be very honest.
There's some different categories of cyclists.
First and foremost, there's your city ride, which is not me, and those are the bane of
everyone's existence, including my.
The sixth part, see, don't let Hayes try and paint me in a bad light. And those are the bane of everyone's existence, including my the six parts.
He won't let Hayes try and paint me in a bad light.
I am not around the car because
I'm biking around.
I'm not causing any traffic issues.
I will admit the one time I was doing something a little shady,
which it had something to do with what Frank, he was saying with the app.
Of course I saw this barcode and I'm like, I keep going I'm going to bump into T-Bone
and it happened to be Hazel the fraud.
That was just a bad bounce for me.
Yeah.
I was thinking, I was thinking.
Better than who...
Yeah, we gotta get, we gotta maybe call him back.
We gotta get a clean line.
Yeah, throw him on, throw him on hold there.
We gotta try to get him back.
He might be down at BMO or maybe he's spiking.
I don't know. He's probably at the Scarborough
Bluffs right now he's he's got a lot on his chest though and I need to ask him
he somehow is now that he's ingrained in the CFL he's taken a run at people
online to like reporters and stuff from the sea I saw it week to numpty CFL
slash fans people race that even mean numpty IL slash fans people rank. What does that even mean numpty?
I don't know.
I need clarification of all these guys he's taking runs at because some of them like are
actually like huge CFL people.
Some of them are work for TSN.
Like he's really taking a run at everybody.
I don't know what the numpty means in that.
We'll need clarification once we let him get stuff off his chest.
Okay.
I think we got you back. Hopefully we can hear you in this time i'm live boy go ahead go ahead
all right go ahead continue anyways i just want to say that i think it's
better than going to planet fitness i can only imagine haze routine there for
nice bike ride up with some tunes on and then i go to the golf course after it's
a good day to be a retired athlete that's all part you know what i'm going
to pay me in a fraudulent way.
All right.
Part C, what I was going to say is I was thinking before the NFL kicks off, yourself, myself,
Hazy B and Al's brother all get on the short track and do a race on a bike.
I would absolutely love that.
A two-seater, me and Al's brother on a four-wheeler.
You guys got on a combo bike on a short track?
Oh my god.
Like the Ryan brothers.
Wasn't it Rex Ryan and his brother?
Yes.
Me and Al's brother just motoring.
Yeah, we can make that happen.
If he's not on a cruise, like the guy literally was on a cruise last week
Alright, so noodles brought up the what's going on with you on online?
You're keeping people in check the CFL community
How how have they embraced your new rule new role on the CFL on TSN? I?
Think most most of the fans are pretty excited about it. I try and bring a little bit of excitement slash football.
I do it.
But the CFL has some fan issues.
Noodle, I heard you talking about the Nupdes.
It's been like this for the last 15 years.
But you have basically this small group of pure idiots
that know nothing about football.
And to be honest with you, I don't even think they like football.
What does numpties mean? Is that just a stupid name?
Yeah, it's just like a muppet, like a, you know, like a dummy.
So I've basically taken upon myself
to try and silence the numpties so that people in Canada can start going online
and actually talking about the football game instead of every other thing under the sun that doesn't matter.
And I also think that the CFL has embraced these numpties to a degree,
and somehow we've got these strange rules like Dave Naylor wrote a great piece
the day about there's like designated Americans that are considered nationalized
because they played five years like who came up with this idea?
Who did I? Not me, but the apropos, boys.
So there's a lot of things I'm chipping away at here.
But the good news is there's some really good players in this league.
And I do think it's we've got some talent, but there are there are some issues
when it comes to the coaching and the implementation
of what these guys are trying to do.
But that will all come to light very soon, boys.
I'm on a pursuit to get it out of CFL and improve the game.
That's what we're going to do.
Okay.
Well, in terms of improving the Argos' chances of salvaging this season, tonight seems like
a pretty big game.
They're 0-2.
They're at home.
The riders are 2-0.
Like what is going on with the Argos? What are you seeing on tape that would
suggest that maybe they break out tonight or maybe do you think they won't
break out tonight? No, they're in for tough sled tonight. Saskatchewan's offensive
line is very stoke and they come downhill, they run the ball very well.
And the Argos are beat up, but also they do a lot of things
where they're just, they shoot themselves in the foot.
You know, and it's, I don't understand the,
the one thing I will be the first guy to tell you,
I don't quite get the dynamics of the CFL
when it comes to off-season moves,
but it seems like Toronto basically shipped off
all of their best offensive guys and they're
paying for that and they're banged up and not having Chad Kelly is another huge ordeal
because I think Kelly can sling it a little better than our buckle can.
And across the board, there's just a lot of issues.
Week one I was there when they lost Montreal.
They had a very hard time picking up Montreal's Run 7 and all the different looks they give,
which is fair.
Montreal brings a lot of different looks.
Last week it didn't really get much better.
They don't execute on offense.
They don't play great defense.
Again, you never know.
It's a CFL, but they're going to need to really...
The margin of error is very small for them to pull out a win today.
Yeah, that's not something our fans want to hear, but it's a long season in the
East is the inferior division, which is a part of it as well. I mean, you still have
a long way to go. Historically, the Argos, I think, have always kind of looked at it
like be alive, be as close to above water as you can by Labor Day, and you can still
get in the dance. And Chad Kelly and what's going on with him and you know is him
recovering from injuries
i guess that's that's pretty significant right you mentioned that they're pretty
banged up but
uh...
we'll see i guess we'll see what comes of it tonight
uh... right so how you get down there did you establish that yet are you are
you driving down are you biking down what's your plan for no biking
of no biking i'm currently sitting in a car right now and down there
welcome to come to the game night
big night in toronto
no i don't think any of us are going to be i think that i think that i would have loved it
part c if they just read in the broadcast you just wheeled in a p we
herman bike like you were a little bit late because they were you know by the
coaches is set up a shot in the sidelines with your microphone.
Yeah, tap up the NWDI on the way by and just park that bad boy.
Get us down there on a weekend and we'll stand beside you and we'll chew the fat during the
game.
Listen, I'm thinking Parchi next weekend at Friday night is Hamilton.
I think we should all go.
Listen,
everyone loves a good time in the hammer. It's gonna be a bit of a rough crowd and
a lot of the Titecats fans hate me because I've been absolutely out of my
mind online. So if you're down, I would love the company next Friday.
Okay, let's put it in the calendar. I love it. Battle of Southern Ontario. I
cannot wait. All right, pal. Well, good well good luck tonight will be watching the on t s and it's
going to be a fun one
appreciate it boys
there is luke wilson
who will be back with us
you know throughout the summer of course and
into the fall with the nfl resuming soon
uh... but yes put in work cfl on t s and
starlight again tonight week three
i went to a few
Argos games last year my son loves it and we had great seats and it's a great setup there at BMO like the only the Biggest challenge is if there's something else going on there because I feel like expo or there was something like it was
Crazy by the end of August. It's a gong show. That's what stageweiser stages playing too. If there's something big going on at the amphitheater you're in big trouble trying to get there.
I swear there was like a triple header. It was like the R goes the X and you're right something at Budweiser. Like the parking was outrageous.
So I dropped the family off and then I went I had to park like a mile away and ran it back in but once he got in there
Was a great setup. It's a great stadium. Yeah, it's a great stadium
Yes, you know the World Cup will be there in less than a year man
Yeah, we're right around the corner from the World Cup and you know this stuff with Jesse Marsh
I the report today. I think Shinetti may join us later is
You know cuz he's suspended.
Was he yelling at someone?
Yeah, it kind of sounds like he was directed to some box
where someone screwed up, wasn't him.
They said, all right, you're in here tonight, you know,
cause you're suspended.
And then they circled back and said, oh, sorry,
you're not allowed in here.
And then I guess, you know, maybe he was bent out of shape
based on that.
But what was he suspended for? Well, his antics, like he was going out of shape based on that. But what was he suspended for?
Well his antics, like he was going at refs and he's been very outspoken.
He's been very critical of officiating, of kind of supporting Canada I guess in terms
of the way he feels they get officiated or the way CONCACAF or what have you has handled
them in the past.
You know, like there's been somewhat of a, I wouldn't call it an inferiority complex
with the Canadian Soccer Association, but concern that Canada gets treated differently
than other big countries, which is probably accurate.
And I think Marsh has come in and tried to fight back on that and he was going nuts and he got kicked out of the game
Remember he got kicked out the last time they had played
So we had him on like what was it like you went upstairs you were watching the rest of the match
So he's kind of run into it a couple of times and he runs hot though. Hey, he must have
I have a feeling I know what went down here. You think he got in somebody's grill?
I think someone this was my opinion may I circle back and said actually Jesse really sorry
But you got to go here and Jesse was not in the mood
yeah for that and possibly had a comment or two and then that got back up the chain and
Here we go with the review process. So, you know here he looks like who's that chef that yells at everybody
of core arms yet he doesn't have a bit of court and he's got a court and
ramsey five black
i don't know without knowing him and that's unfair for me to say that i'm
also not that i would like it yeah well we had a lot of we've we've met him a
couple times i was awesome but i just
he's got like this vibe that he runs hot, which hot also means ultra competitive.
I don't mind that.
I don't mind a guy that, especially when he's got skin in the game, obviously he's going
to be on edge.
He does have a Gordon Ramsay vibe.
Yeah, he does kind of look like Gordon Ramsay.
I don't know.
Maybe that's it.
He is an American Gordon Ramsay.
Yeah, kind of love it.
Some of the Gordon Ramsay stuff is just crazy to hear that guy.
I just, I never could understand,
like he wasn't doing that within his private restaurants
and kitchens.
I have no idea.
Because like I get it's for TV and that's what makes him,
he's great at TV because he yells and screams
and calls people morons.
You couldn't do that like Gordon Ramsay's
Steakhouse in London and people are sitting there eating and this guy's yelling in the back
Screaming and screaming stops all made for tea
I have to it has to be but there's that one where he's like got the piece of two pieces of bread in the ladies head
He's like you're an idiot
Sandwich pieces of bread that the ladies have to be like you're a idiot idiots it's a he was idiot
sandwich
i was like all i saw
yeah i was a great yeah that's his sound but you get hit with one of those it hurts
i've been hit with the
with the idiot sandwich meme after a bad tweet or whatever i'm like that one hurt
that was a good one it was well played
uh... yeah jesse marsh
he's got a Gordon Ramsey vibe.
Alright, Mike Johnson in about 20 minutes. Sam Mitchell coming up, Sammy was there in
Indiana last night. Get his take on what he saw up close and personal and what do you
think will happen in a couple of nights for game seven back in Oklahoma City and the Jays
back in action with the White Sox in town starting tonight. Overdrive continues, TSN
1050 and on the iHeartRadio app.
Alright, Mike Johnson coming up in about 15 minutes. Sam Mitchell, Matthew Shinetti still
to come, our best pets, Dear Hazy B later this afternoon. I have a feeling people are
going to be asking for ideas or life hacks on how to avoid the heat because the heat
is en route, man. It is going to get hot this weekend Man, there's they're saying it may feel like 40 41 42
Really? Yeah, Sunday Monday
41 or 42 that's what I've heard through the grapevine
Yeah, that's what I've heard with humidity and stuff that it and that's when you get like the true veteran
and stuff that it and that's when you get like the true veteran knows you got to wear you gotta wear the proper clothing right you have especially if
you're dragged into something that's like walking outdoors with the kids yes
etc etc you have to be very careful it could get really only yeah like the worst shade is great
in my opinion
but you were a little is there a short
yes you're asking for a massive massive trouble if you're a sweater and you
throw on a light grade tight
khaki short
good night was that berman
well yeah i want to get the sort of swami i think had uh...
that might have been a full khaki dude.
We need a picture of that.
Wasn't there a full, like it was.
I've never seen swass like that in my life.
Boomer had a meltdown that day.
Yeah, Boomer was not in a good place.
Man, it was hot, spicy, and they did him dirty
because he was in the trap and they were it was an unnecessary camera angle
hacking it around
That was the worst part
I think it was like a chunk or a skull like the golf shot because you could pull off swastika
It's like man. I was a great shot. You know what I mean? Like I can handle that
Yeah, there it is. See, that's a light
gray. That's a light gray on the swarm. That is dirty. That's unnecessary. That's him putting
right there. There's another shot of him getting in and out of a bunker. It's like, Hey, what
the hell color is that guy supposed to wear? That's got to be a dark Navy. They are lacker
Navy. It's got to be a dark, dark Navy, maybe a black. Black's a bit extreme, but like a dark Navy you can claim, hey, it's summer, a little
bit of color.
You gotta know better if you're a boomer there, man.
You've got to know better.
Look at this cat.
Now he's got short, that's front swast.
That's tough.
Jesus.
Yeah.
Like frontal swast is wild behavior.
All right.
Mike Johnson coming up.
