Ray Farrar in a few moments, roleplay level of concern, where maybe our boy, Stevie Caldwell, will be heard from again.
It was great to see Stevie last year.
Yeah, love it.
What a legend, Stephen Caldwell is.
What a legend, and what a new hairdo he has.
He looks amazing.
Top-notch, and, like, Scotland's into the World Cup.
So, Stevie is on fire right now.
A couple of whiskeys and five or six beers.
Yeah, like that means Scotland's coming to North America in the summer.
So buckle up and get ready.
So, yeah, it was great to see him.
We saw Kevin Kilban last night.
Kevin's crushing it.
Man, what a legend he is.
It was great.
You know, those guys, I guess I should bring up the story I ran into this morning.
The reason I bring it up is, you know, over in the UK.
Cricket is a big game over there.
Cricket's a big game.
I didn't know schools in the greater Toronto area have cricket tournaments.
Like, I never played it as a kid.
I don't know anything about cricket.
Like, it's the one sport.
I don't know anything.
And my daughter, I have no idea what they're doing.
No.
They chuck it, and then they try to hit it, and then it's out in the outfield, and they catch it.
Yeah.
So my daughter made the team very excited, and I was a carpool guy this morning.
Like, it was a very early morning.
I thought you were going to say you were an assistant coach.
No, it's through the school, and they won the championship, so now they move on to the next level.
It was unbelievable, but it's always, you know, every parent says, like, when your kid beats you in a race for the first time or knows the word that you don't know for the first time, as a sports guy, like, I'm always kind of like, I got it.
What do you need to know about this, about that, you know.
Let's chuck it over there, grab a little stick and hit it with a stick.
I know nothing.
I'm watching this game.
I don't know the scoring.
and then I made the mistake of using the wrong language.
I'm like, hey, great pitch.
She's like, it's a bowl.
You bowl it.
You don't pitch it.
I'm like, sorry.
Oh, they're like mortified.
I'm like, hey, you hit the pins.
She goes, wickets.
What do you do?
Not pins?
Wic.
I'm like, all right, relax.
I'm trying here.
I felt like I had such a loser.
First time ever in my sporting career,
and as a parent, completely out of my realm.
Clueless.
She knows more than I do.
Clueless.
Clueless.
It is a weird sport, though.
They pitch it, eh?
They pitch it, and it's the paddle that they hit.
It looks like a baseball bat that's been squashed.
No, it looks like I told you.
They bowl it.
They bowl it.
They don't pitch it, man.
You and I were the same, we're the exact same.
No, they throw it at it and it bounces and they swing at it.
Like, that's the way I look at it.
I look at it the same way.
I'm like, hey, you hit a home run.
She goes, it's not, it's not a home run.
I'm like, all right.
No, but guys, like, when I've watched it, guys will, like, turn it.
And then it goes into the field if you catch it.
Oh, yeah.
Like, all sorts of crazy things.
It is a wild sport.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong.
I believe it's, like, huge in, like, India and, like, you know, really.
In the UK, India, Pakistan's big in Australia.
It's massive.
South Africa, I believe it's huge.
Like, it's a massively popular sport around the world.
That ball is so hard.
You see a guy get into pills and drop?
Like, there's no gear.
like it's weird and you know what some of these sporting these cricket games go on for days
and got like spectators are there literally days days i'm telling you
how does that even mean it starts at 8 a.m and then it finishes at 10 p.m. the next day right that's
basically what i'm telling you it's an excuse for guys to go and just party for three days
ask ray if cray doesn't know what yeah how would ray know maybe ray does know he's more educated
for days is a stupid thing to say i'm pretty certain like i get i'm ignorant i don't know a lot
and i definitely don't know a lot about cricket but i think cricket goes days yeah here's ray ferraro
from uspn our cricket insider do you aware of that that's me are you aware of that ray that
a cricket match you know how much i hate to agree with you it really pisses me off yeah but you
are correct they take a cricket test i believe
leave is the term, can go on for two or three days.
I don't know if they bring picnic lunches or what they're doing there.
But like, in North America, we're sour if a hockey game gets over 2.15.
We're like, are you kidding me?
Let's roll this thing alone.
We were pissed last night with overtime.
No kidding.
Oh, hey, can that ever throw a cramp into the day?
Yeah.
You know, like overtime, really.
Where's the Cricket Summit trying to get a pitch clock going or a ball clock?
Cricket Summit.
They're going to bring.
Hey, by the way, two things.
Draggs told me yesterday on our podcast that you guys were, you know, you were taking over the intermissions.
And I had this worry that it was just you three, but I saw Dothie was there too, right?
Dothie was running the whole operation.
Yes.
Okay.
Well, that gives some comfort to the viewer, for sure.
sure um the second thing is i hear this story about this fisherman friend stuff and yeah and how
you know how like noodles is such a like because he's a he's a good teammate he brings drags like a
box of fishermen friends and he says he brings them and he puts them on the table and oh crushes
the bag in in in through one game a league game i crush the whole bag so i'm so this because as we all
know, Dregs is a bit of a smart ass.
And I'm like, Dregs, I cannot believe you're missing this opportunity.
Like, he should have sprinkled some hot paprika sauce on those fishermen friends or something.
So the first time that you pop one in, it's like fire.
Like, I can't believe he's missed that all.
I'm so disappointed.
Well, the payback would be a bitch for Dregs because he's almost choked to death on air before.
So I could just, I could mix him up a little concoction that will choke him out immediately.
Keep in mind, Ray, there has been some incidents on the panel.
You're right.
Like, Dregs is choked out a few times.
Oh, had the, what was that?
The steak sandwich.
I had to give him the heimlich on the panel.
Bobby Mac for years.
Bobby Mac for years, he would tell me he's like, I really like the steak sandwich
and the calf with not regular fries.
What is the other fries?
Like curly fries or something.
No, sweet potato fries.
So he got a steak sandwich and sweet potato fries.
So I don't have much time.
I go wheel up there and I grab one.
I take two bites.
Bobby's not even on the panel.
It was me, Jamie, and Pooley.
And I take one bite, and it was the part of the crusty part of the bun and the steak.
And it lodged in my throat.
Amazing.
And I looked at Pooley, and I was like, and he punches me in the back.
That was Pooley's resolution.
The old school punch in the back.
And I'm like, no way, man.
and noodles
grabs me
and I was a monster
at the time
and this guy
tries to give me
the heimlich
and if it didn't work
I'm a goner man
I puked out this thing
I shot at 30 feet in the air
a piece of steak and bread
and I was so rattled
I had to go home
noodles
noodle saved my life
that a boy noodles
so noodles
this is all on you
this is all on you
all of this
so you know
this is on you now
all I remember is that
I looked up because the weirdest thing is I was eating Swiss chalet and
Ebbington and Buffalo were playing on like some screen over there so I was watching
I wasn't paying attention and then Pooley gives him the death shot you're not supposed to
punch somebody in the back when they're choking he gives him the death shot that
largest it even more in his throat so I turn him around I give him the Heinleck he spits it out
and I just looked at I think it was Rennie and I go did you guys get that on film but I saw
the jib was facing the other way
because I wanted
video evidence that I saved his life
and I patted him on the back and sat back down
but yeah I mean that was it was quite traumatic
I think O had to leave or something I did
I was rattled I was cry I was a mess
by the way Pooley
didn't stop eating while he was punching
he was taking a bite
and then he punched and was not even
phased
that's a veteran
in the room
that's okay I gotta get my food in here
man that's
that is a that's a that's a that's a
That's a hell of a story, man.
That would have been great on video.
Have you tried that sandwich since?
Or is it R-I-B?
Never.
Never.
I'll never have a steak sandwich as long as I had.
I guarantee you, it was like the gristle that you bit into.
That's what it.
The gristle probably expanded in your throat.
I think that was the bun.
It was a real solid part of the bun that choked me.
If you didn't help me, Jamie, I was gone.
Don't you think maybe this is a question about the cafeteria?
Maybe that bread had been there 10 days.
12 days.
Probably about.
The Niner Diner has always fresh great food.
Well, the gravy boss retired, I think.
Yes, he had.
I haven't seen him in years.
It's disappointing.
Yeah.
Well, that could have been a bad scene.
And, you know, I guess as we segue into,
it could have been a bad seed,
Miko Ranton in on Romanov last night.
That hit.
That was gnarly.
And Patrick Waugh was going crazy last night.
And I kind of, I'm curious how you guys feel like to see your coach,
I'm sure Romanov has an appreciation for that passion.
But I believe they have it on tape, him saying, like, hey,
you're not getting out of the next game alive when we play it down the road.
That's a tough one.
What do you make of this play, Ray, and Patrick Waugh's response to Rantanin?
Well, I can see why the Islanders are furious.
I can see why Roy is.
It happens so fast.
I mean, when you slow it down and you look at Mayfield gets a stick into his feet,
and there's wah losing his mind.
But like maybe you think about it a little bit differently.
But when when a guy is chasing the defenseman back to the to the boards,
like I do think it's it's got to be on the forward to make sure where your stick is.
Because once he gets tripped up, you're totally out of control.
Once he, you know, Mayfield's stick is in his feet.
Now we, you know, half toe picks a bit.
he's already ready to finish the check and now his arms go out his stick goes out and man
anytime i mean we've all you know seen it multiple times when somebody hits the boards like that
it makes you catch your breath right um i i don't know that there's i i think it's all on rant in it
i think he's got to do a better job of trying to protect the play but i see why it happened like
I don't think it's a suspension.
I just think it's a terrible thing that happens in a game that's going so fast.
He's literally going.
They're going 20 miles an hour still.
I know, but Ray, him, the idea of just him pushing him from behind, you don't think that's any type of suspension?
Well, I don't think there will be one.
I think they probably already announced there.
There isn't.
I hate that play, oh, I hate it.
so do I. I think that, I think the, like where he's going to push, why wouldn't you take a step to the inside and use your shoulder? Like if you're trying to bump him off the pocket. But because that, to me, that's a way safer play. This is, man, this is, this is exactly why they got rid of icing. Touch up icing is because the D has no chance. If, if there's a stumble or a little push or a knockoff balance, there's no chance for those guys. And,
man I
I haven't heard but it looks like
Romanoff's okay and that's
probably a really lucky thing
yeah big time and yeah you mentioned it
it's a fast game and we've been talking about
how it's a young man's game
and what a night last night
Bardard scores three
Celebrini matches them scores
three the two of them are both top
five and points it's like McKinnon
McDavid Bedard
Celebrini Leo Carlson
you know like those those three
are all in the west they're all
Like everyone knows the two of them.
I don't know how many people in Canada know Carlson.
But this debate's ongoing constantly,
and it will be for the next couple of months.
You know, how do you keep these two kids off the Olympic team?
Where do you stand on this?
I guess the same as other players that are going to get left off
or selected is that you're not picking the 14 best forward.
You're picking the 14 best that make a roster.
Right?
You still do need a couple of people.
penalty killers, you do need somebody to protect the lead. The players that get picked on
this team, we've got to all realize they're not going to play the same minutes and roles that
they have on their own team. So if you take Bardard and, I mean, he's, you know, he plays every
power play. He, you know, he plays 18 to 20 minutes a night. That's not going to happen on Canada. So if it
doesn't happen, can you see him as an effective player? Same with Celebrini. What if
Celebrini becomes a 12-minute guy? Can he be that? Can he be effective? I'm at the point,
though, with these young guys, I think they're better than they've ever been. I think they're
more savvy to play in important games than the players before them. I don't think age should matter.
If they're in your vision for what your team is, I think they should be on the team. And that'll
into like guys that were on the team last year we're going to get shoved out some of them are
and are you going to report like is is tom wilson going to be in that mix in a in a rink that's
actually if they ever if my countryman ever build the rink it's going to be smaller and um like
would Wilson be a guy that you would have on that team um because he wasn't he wasn't there of course
last time is connect me on that team right now no i mean they've already named braden point to
the team is he got 10 points like there's some right there's some things they've got to look at as
they piece this all together and I don't know how how crazy is it about Matthew Schaefer
like that I don't know if you guys have had a chance to see him live the guy is like he's amazing
and you're like is there eight better defensemen than him or is there eight better that fit in
the in the mix I probably I think it's going to be really hard when they get into San
That's where I was going to go, Ray.
Like, you're around the game, your ice level.
The game has changed a lot.
One of our, you know, it's only 20 games, but observations,
I said it, and I didn't want to be, you know, negative about the league,
but there's been a lot of, like, bad hockey games so far this season.
Like, just we, I don't know if the product has, I don't know if it's watered down,
if it's just early on, no training camps, compressed schedules,
they're tired, their minds aren't into it.
But there's been a lot of games where you're like,
oh, this is just nonsense.
Or bad, you know, bad execution of plays.
Like, I don't know how you feel about it,
but that's been my observation of the first 20 games.
There's been some good hockey, but some really poor hockey as well.
Well, there's no practice time.
There's, you know, I think the Canucks just finished 20 games in 38 days.
maybe it's a part of the reason they're at the bottom of the league and goals against.
They're like, they give up chances all over the place.
The goal the other night, last night, in overtime, like, what is St. Louis doing?
Like, they get three guys standing, shaking Tavares's hand.
Yeah.
Like, somebody should probably notice, hey, wait a minute, if I can touch my teammates, this is probably a bad place.
but I think they're just, it appears to me anyway that they're just totally worn out,
that guys make mental mistakes, like they're not even, like the games are, they lack zip.
Every once in a while we get a really good game and you're like, whoa, that was really great.
But way too many noodles, like you mentioned, I was in Ottawa Saturday night and the Kings were playing Ottawa.
Yeah.
Halfway, literally halfway that second commercial at the 10th.
minute mark. The shots were six, six. And I said to John Kelly, who I was doing the game with,
I go, is it bad that I can literally remember 10 of the 12 shots? It's ridiculous. That's a
beautiful move at the end by Neelander. But there's a St. Louis guy, two of them come to Tavares,
and the third guy goes and stands behind the goal line. I'm not really sure what he thinks is going
on there but they had that corner pretty well covered and i i'm with you like i is it watered
down probably a little bit but man man like it's it's messy so far when i read hey they're
thinking about expansion i'm like where are the players coming from okay like that's another
45 nchl players we're we're pretty if if we haven't noticed yet there are no centers
there's about 10 teams looking for a center where did they all go
and I don't think adding two teams is going to make it that easy to find them
Ray if you had to pick like if you were
if Edmonton and Toronto was tossed on your lap
and you were told they're both going to make the playoffs
would you agree with that right now today
you don't have to say which one isn't or is
would you say they're both in
maybe yes maybe kind of i don't i don't like either of them really i don't either i think
edmonton's i think edmonton's gonna make it i i think toronto should make it yet when i look
at toronto i'm like they're a mess but edmonton is edmonton finds ways to they win some games and
you're like, like they won those three overtime games in a row, or, well, the back-to-back
ones when Roslavik scored, and then they won another one late, and you're like, but it's still,
like it doesn't look like they're a good team. You know, they've got some really good
players, it doesn't look like they're a good team. Toronto, to me, this is their, well, both
of them, this is their worst teams in three years for, for both of those teams. The holes are
bigger. It doesn't seem like there's solutions available.
to them. I thought
Trill Living's press conference the other
day was really interesting
when, you know, too much vanilla and
I mean, they just put this roster together
and I know what's hard, but they're saying
we want more snot. We want more
a harder team,
but that's not what they've got
right now. And like, how do you
fix it? Like, where do you go
fix it?
And I think they're, I do think
both teams should make it, but
I would not be surprised
if one of them does not.
Yeah, the way both have played.
I mean, Edmonton would rely on while we do this every year,
although, you know, I was reading an article on them today
about underlying stats and all that,
that this is different than what they've done the past two years.
Like, it's particularly ugly.
Positive or negative?
No, negatively.
Like, negatively, like, particularly worse.
And for the leaves, you know, I think, listen,
they're suffering from injuries right now.
Yeah, what you guys just said describing the least,
league, it maybe shouldn't be the case, but they might use that as why they're going to be
optimistic.
It's like, yeah, we're terrible, but everyone's terrible.
You know, like, it's a weird argument.
Hayes, you're not, you're not wrong.
So, like, so I'm obviously watching the Canucks a lot.
I do a bunch of their games and, you know, with Cammy's involvement, obviously I'm paying
attention, but they're four points out of the division lead.
And you're like, well, how is that even possible?
like how not just like not just like L.A's leading the division you're like how how could that be and it's
I would save well I don't know who are the favorites Colorado probably I thought Dallas was having a bad
start then I looked at the record and I was like yeah yeah they're actually they're fine they're more than
fine yeah but Colorado has been the best team and after that there's a whole bunch of stuff that
looks the same i mean some team doesn't have a defense some teams don't have forward some teams
it's a goalie but there's not half a dozen or eight teams you go man they could all win the
cop i don't say that right now no i agree with you and go ahead noel you know no i was just going to say
you know what the word comes to mind guys mediocre a lot of media like you can you can make it you
can make an argument you know name me a team you can make an argument of you know why they can be in it or
why they can be out of it.
That's the, you know, like you said, you look at Vancouver's four points out,
Ebenton, four points out or three points out of first place,
Leafs now, or what, four or six points, whatever it is.
Like, it's all, everybody's bunched out.
You can make an argument positively or negatively for probably 22 teams of going,
what is this going to look like?
We're 20 games in.
You got, you know, I get 75% of the games left.
But that's the one thing I've noticed after 20 games.
you're going, there's been no separation other than one or two teams, positively and negatively.
I feel bad for my flames.
Like, you know, Calgary's lost again last night.
Lost in Chicago.
But some of these teams that, you know, Chicago's taken a step.
San Jose's taken a step.
Like, there's not going to be a scenario where there's a team like dead, dead, like, rebuilding ugly.
We thought Pittsburgh was going to be like that.
All of a sudden, they started like gangbusters.
So I just, that's the, I watched that Chicago team last.
night and I was like maybe they get in somehow they play fast yeah if they can get
goaltending and those guys can keep scoring who knows man their defense is
ginormous enormous humans that Renzel kid he is good Alex Vlasic is really good
night's been awesome to your point oh in goal and and there's also remember when we
were young and we hadn't failed yet and you just come into the league and you're like
you just it's just it's i won't say it's easy but there's no scar tissue there's nothing that
you're not worried about failure you just go play and if you screw up you get to go play again
it's it doesn't work that way when you get older anaheim chicago san jose they're all the same
like san ozate or uh anaheim scores goals by the buckets and you're like could like that dostel
is really good like are they in the mix sure they are right you know what to your point of
about Calgary noodles. I think last year unfortunately changed their people's perception of them
a little bit, but they're in this rebuild thing and they're going to get lots of good young
players. Just maybe it won't be as quick as last year, maybe made people think it might be.
Their best tact right now is to finish right where they are. And you get one of those two or
three kids at the top of the draft and then you get another one at 32 or 33 in a really good
draft and you're like oh man that's that's how it had that don't you think that's how it's
going to happen big time right do you think a team like anaheim like is it any chance they
should go from zero to a hundred where it's like we should not just try to get in but maybe go
for it with guys on their entry deals because you know what happens after that it's like
everyone starts getting paid and then then the guys go overboard
it's almost like you might as well try to make some hay
I said earlier
I don't think age should matter anymore
with some of these young guys
they're so good so early
I do think like what if you get
within a month of the deadline
Anaheim's got all kinds of cap space
and you're like what if you decide you know what
we can blow out some of these
15 draft picks we've got in our pocket
and somebody
somebody by that time will say
you know what I'm going to sell
I'm going to I'm going to move along
and maybe Anaheim can cherry pick
a guy that's got a year left
on their contract like not a pretty good player
but a really good player
like they'd be
wouldn't you if you're an older forward wouldn't you go
man I'd kind of be interested here
yeah I'm doing the game
I'm doing the game guys
tomorrow Anaheim Ottawa and
First thing I thought about is, you know, Padverbeek's been able to kind of grab some players along the way.
We'll call him off the scrap heap, but he, you know, it was Coulorne.
He started with Coulorne.
You know, he got Ryan Strom, and then, you know, now it's Chris Kreider, it's Jacob Truba.
And then he's got a whack of young players.
Like, all of these players are, this Lecombe kid.
Like, you look at it, Carlson, is he McTavish got his deal done.
Dostell and Net, like, these, they've got some young studs.
So to raise point, you've got currency and you can grab some more as team become sellers
either early on in the season or near the deadline and add to your group.
Ray, we got to fly, buddy.
Just give me your coach of the year before we go through 20.
Well, right now, honestly, I think I would vote for Q.
Yeah.
I would vote for Joel.
yeah i mean nobody really had them in this position he's taken a team that was probably had some good
momentum and has been able to i don't know they they just have a they look like they're a pretty
good team right now like i i always default to the guys that outkicked their you know the expectations
that's maybe that's not fair or right but that's kind of a little bit of the way i look at at coach of
the year. I am happy Dave Worsovsky's not going to have to trade off one of his kids in San
Jose.
Fayette Plashel's done a hell of a job. They look pretty organized. And Travis Green's done a hell
of a job in Ottawa without their captain. Oh, by the way, so they play hard, and
that game I did the other, there was zero room. Like, Greenie's teams check, and they
defend. And I bet you, well, I guess the next.
20 games will separate the pretenders a little bit, but I did say to him after the game,
Greenie, if I have to do one more of those games between you and L.A., I'm going to retire on the
spot because nobody, you couldn't even say each goalie play. It was one nothing, and you're like,
yeah, I don't know, I guess they were fine in there. The goalies were fine. Like, nobody made a save.
Checking is bad for hockey. I like goals. Right. Let's get a hockey and a
Cricket Summit going here, and let's work this out.
Let's make this move in the direction we wanted to here.
I like that.
I can't buy the Cricket Summit.
I'd like to offer some opinion.
When you can hit the ball backwards, I'm like, that's still in the field of play.
I'm like, I don't quite understand how that could be.
No, me neither, but that's the point.
I don't get it.
I don't get it either, but what can you do?
You live and learn.
All right, Ray.
Great seeing you, buddy.

We'll do it again down the road.

All right, role play.
Best bets coming up.
Overdrive continues.
TSN 1050 and on TSN4.
Can you never, never ask me to stop drinking?
Do you understand?
I do.
I really do.
All right, roll play level of concern.
Great to see Stephen Caldwell last night.
Great to see Stephen Colwell.
Canada's looking good, man.
They're ready for the World Cup.
They are ready.
for the World Cup.
We've got the draw coming up soon.
That was happening in December.
We're going to know who's in their group and all that good stuff.
All right.
Or a role play level of concern.
Oh, you're playing the role of Brad Trilliving, the GM of the Maple Leafs.
We heard from you yesterday.
What is your level of concern?
Austin Matthews may not reach superstar levels of play this season.
I got to go, Stevie Caldwell.
more whiskeys and five or six beers because god it was great hearing that live wasn't it so good
yeah so good live yeah he told me scotland's in he goes i'm gonna celebrate with some mates i was like
oh my god so fired up what was that like what would that look like oh man buckle up man scotland
it's a couple of shots in five or six beers just because because of the unknown and what we
saw last year like was he ever the same last year it was always like you're watching and then you see
a shift and you're like maybe he's going to come out of it maybe he's going to come out of it and be
the guy and he's so good that he can still rip home 33 goals with not playing all the games and having
a bad back or yeah shoulder whatever the hell is bothering him but i don't know it happens again
you have to think it could be the same thing and then you're just going to have you're going to be
playing the waiting game again and watching and be like is he's going to come back
is he going to return to the guy and he's no kid anymore either in that game like he's been
around a long time a lot of hits a lot of miles and who knows what he's going to be after this one
so it's stevie caldwell which is still reasonable right stevie called well like it's not like
it's not nick cage i i feel like i'm called well too i've stevie called well because you know
i you could see glimpses of it and and what he still needs to do is settle in
into his game.
We hadn't seen it.
Yeah.
Like, Jamie, this guy's a hard trophy winner.
He was always kind of challenging to be the best player in the game, and now it's not.
I know.
It's a different year this year, and I know we say, we don't want to say Mitch Marner's name,
but he has to adjust to not playing with Mitch Marner.
He's played with him for nine years, or, you know, on and off, but for the most part.
So it's a different game this season for him on a lot of different levels.
I still believe he can do it.
It's just, it's an adjustment, and it takes time to adjust.
And they still have to find somebody to play with them, too.
That's the other thing.
You got Matthew Nyes on one side.
Who the hell's passing him on the puck on the other side?
It's been Rick Macelli, who else has it been?
Yeah, it's been a revolving door.
I mean, there's Easton Cowan's, not a shot at it, Dolmy, I guess.
Jomey, like, how many wingers has he had?
Like, that's the thing.
You've got to figure that out.
But isn't a superstar supposed to elevate everyone?
else you know like isn't a superstar should be almost line-made proof like yes it could knock you off
a few percentages you know it's like they didn't get the puck where you were supposed to or
it gave that guy a perfect pass and he just doesn't have it in him to make a play look who said
did his best work with yeah pascal dupuy and chris kunitz yes like if you're if you're if you're one of
the five or six best players in the world and you have matthew nize as a minimum on your line
That's got to be enough still to be like, man, I can see it.
Like, yeah, and then if you get that guy, then it's an explosion back to 69 goals and chasing a heart.
I just, yeah, Stevie Cole, I think that's reasonable, which I think, again, speaks to kind of where they're at here, that they need him to get back to being great.
Got to get healthy, got to play great, got to be a leader, got to be a grinder.
I don't know, year 10, we'll see.
Noodles, you're playing the role of Miko Ranton.
and Miko Rantanin, who laid out Romanov last night down on the island.
What is your level of concern?
Patrick Waugh was not kidding around,
and the next game versus the Isles will get crazy.
I am Nick Cage.
You can never, never ask me to stop drinking.
And the reason I say that is Patrick Waugh, when he played,
and when he coaches, he has an attitude.
Like, he has, and he won't forget that.
Like, this is a, you know, Ray, you guys were talking,
I didn't jump in that much on that call.
Like, watching that, the scariest thing,
and, like, if he goes in head first, he doesn't get up.
I'm sorry.
I disagree with Ray, guys.
I think that's a 10-game suspension.
Like, just the idea of throwing your arms forward
and catapulting the opposition player into the boards,
somebody ain't walking away from that one day.
Like Ray always said back in the day,
Like, you've got to make a statement with these suspensions.
I thought that was awful, and I honestly think that that was 10 games, man.
And he's not getting anything to clarify.
The league is not suspending it.
I find that to be insane.
But, like, okay, I think there was a trip in there as well.
Like, I do think there was a show, but I think he tripped or he was off-balance.
I don't see Miko Ranton as an egregious player, but we're just judging the act.
We're not judging the player or the person.
Okay, a trip, Jamie.
It wasn't a cross-check where the cross-check catapulted Rantan and into Romanoff.
Do you know what I mean?
It was a trip, so it doesn't mean your arms go forward like this into Romano.
I thought it was an awful play.
Yeah, it's a bad play, and I think we always say this.
If somebody, like, if we woke up today and Randon and got suspended for two games for that,
like we'd all go, okay, you could see that.
You know what I mean?
Like, I don't think if we asked him today, he meant to do that in a sense, but you're still, you have to be responsible for your actions out there.
The game is fast.
I know there were other factors involved, but I'm coming back to Patrick Waugh is pissed, and that's not a guy who, like, wakes up today and goes,
oh, you know what, I maybe said too much or whatever, like my emotions.
He won't forget that.
Like, he protects his players.
I think he's a fantastic coach.
Lost in all this, the Islanders are pretty darn good, too.
Yeah, they've been good.
And he's a big part of that.
I'm a big Patrick Waugh fan.
I think he's, I can say, I come back to this guy's got an attitude.
If he says it, it's on his mind.
Put it that way.
Well, yeah, I hear you.
I think it, I just feel like this is where the league gets involved.
And there's a Mark Crawford connection to, you know, like this.
I would, I'll bet you
Rantanen won't be touched. Now, he might be
challenged. Yeah.
That, I think someone will go up to him and say,
you know, let's go, I'm dropping your gloves. I don't know if
Rantanin's ever fought in his career. I don't,
I don't know. I'm not sure.
I can't, I don't want to say, I can't
imagine, but I don't recall him ever being in a
fight. I think that's
reasonable. Like, someone, without
Ross saying anything, someone on that team's going to
think, I got to go up and just challenge this guy
immediately, because I know what my coach is
thinking. But that's
scenario where that's betman will call the owner and say we're watching we know what
happens yeah anything happens we're talking suspension fine huge because it's going to be so built
up patrick woss and you're not getting out alive you're not getting out of the game alive
when it's those are tough comments man yeah tough comments but i believe that he believes that
i believe that he believes that too like he is a legit fiery individual that is looking
for action and
listen
we'll circle that game we'll see
we'll see what happens it'll be a big
buildup um anyway
all right
role play level of concern i'm playing the role of
brown's quarterbacks
what is my level of concern
shadur Sanders is about to wally
pip all of us
it's
pine on the patio
pine on the patio i mean he went in
last week for dylan gabriel and it was
really ugly for Shadour. I think that's a
tough spot to be in.
You're playing on the Browns. That offense is
terrible and you get thrown in there
but it was ugly. This is
truly the assessment though for Shadur
they get a big opportunity. All
eyes are on this guy. He's
Dion's kid man.
That scene at the draft was one of the
craziest draft scenes in any sport
in history
and he was the third stringer, it was the fourth
stringer to start camp
and now he's starting. Here's
opportunity you could wally pipped us you win you play well you'll keep playing what are the
chances but i'll believe it when i see it exactly like it's on him to do it you know he's got a great
opportunity they're playing vegas vegas is terrible terrible now max crosbie's playing he's coming
for you and that's going to be tough but listen chador's got an opportunity here i just i i i'll
believe it when i see it you know and i think if you're dylan gabriel or whoever else you're
still thinking all right i'll also believe it until i see it
or I'll believe it when I see it, with Shador.
Did he not start?
You said fourth.
I swear he started fifth.
Wasn't he fifth when he got into.
Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and then there was Dylan Gabriel for sure ahead of him.
Like for sure.
He was at least fourth.
Maybe he was fifth on the depth chart.
I remember this crazy thing that they're still looking for a young quarterback in the draft,
like that would be their number one priority?
Possibly, yeah.
I mean, Deshaun Watson is still under contract and maybe.
what is that guy's deal well he's that's just gone isn't it yeah i don't think he'll ever play
again but it's a guaranteed contract so you know you can cut him but you just you're paying him
every penny and i don't know what benefit you get from that outside of just he's out of here
you're not going to cut him he's hurt right now so he's going to rehab and recover and all that
but i don't know i'm curious i hope he does well i mean go for it go out and play great like
that'd be a great story but um as i've said multiple times
I'll believe it when I see it.
All right.
Roll play level of concern.
Maybe we'll sneak in a couple after dark.
We've got our best bets coming up.
Rapplers in action tonight.
We've got a lot of games in the NHL NBA.
NFL.

game. They're a two-point favorite on Fandole in Philly tonight.
They've been so good. They've been playing so well. They're healthy.
But, you know, it's a divisional game. You're laying points on the road. I'm probably
going to avoid that game. But Oilers in Washington tonight, I'm doing a quick parlay. McDavid
scores tonight. Try settle two plus points. That's paying like plus 375. It feels like those two guys.
They've got to have a night every night. You know, that's the nature of the sport. Your
superstars have got to show up.
Oh, those two, like...
They do it every night.
Oh, yeah.
It's like a power play when those two are on the ice.
The problem is when they get off the ice.
Yes, when they get off the ice, that's a problem right now.
Well, they loaded up that line the other day, but like Roslovick's really settled in
with dry saddle on that second line.
Like, he's been a good fine.
He's got seven goals.
Yeah, I know, but Jamie, if it's two nothing with three minutes left in the first,
they go right, they load it up.
They're like, time to go.
Well, with Hyman back, that's the thing.
Like, Hyman had a wide open net the other night, like, back door.
Like, he really helps them.
Like, he's a good, good player, like a real good engine for them.
Like, we'll see what they got.
They stunked the other night.
We'll see what they got to get the Washington.
Yeah, I'm expecting a response tonight.

You see, Bill Belichick is hanging out.
That's embarrassing.
I'm sorry.
It's embarrassing.
I didn't know this was a thing, but co-ed adult cheerleading events exist in the world.
I was not aware of that.
But they do.
There are adults and get me going here in the cheerleader garb.
And I guess his girlfriend is a part of a team.
And there's Bill out there supporting the crowd.
And that great stuff?
What do they do, like a routine?
Oh, my, I don't, I don't know.
Somebody zoomed in on the guy beside her and was like, is that Belichick's son?
The guy to her, I guess when we're looking at the picture, the guy on the right top corner.
Could be.
That looks like, that could be Bill, Bill Jr. up there, just kind of helping out, right?
You know, like that's adult cheerleading.
It's not something I was aware of.
But is that big down the States?
What goes down?
Is it like a routine?
Yeah.
Yeah, I guess.
Music and your cheering.
Everyone's in sync.
What would you pay or what would a routine look like if the three of us,
Al's brother, my partsy, and JP, all of us did like a routine, a choreographed routine.
That would raise a lot of money and a lot, get a lot of eyeballs.
A lot of eyebrows would be raised.
We have to come up with some kind of.
dance routine or i don't know our team okay i could see there being something there for the
holiday season maybe make people you know festive sweaters put a smile on people's faces you
know you know what that is though guys is is that the equivalent of beer league for cheerleaders
yeah yeah i guess so yeah like you couldn't cut it making the cowboys but you're in the
uh yeah north carolina you're playing a chess with at 11 p.m. on
a Tuesday. Yeah, that's a Tuesday night at Cheswood right there. Yep, that's right. We got
an open floor. It's not, instead of open ice, we got an open floor. Right? We got, we got, we got, we got,
we got, we got, we got, we got, big, big one. Got to get this cheerleading. Joe from the bridge. Joe from the bridge
is in our cheerleading team. We got to have Joe from the bridge. Yeah. Joe would be so, like,
he would be so good, energetic and fired up and committed. Because he's a team player. We love
Joe from the bridge. You'd have to have it. Okay, I like it. I like it. I like where things
are going here i think we've we've sparked an idea that we need to follow through on some kind of jingle
all same unis tights all of it christmas sweaters tights elf tights i'm telling you we do it for christmas
okay all right let's write me j p and l's brother will be elves
I love that idea.
Yeah, we're raising eyebrows.
Raising eyebrows.
The three little elves.
Yeah.
