Hello everybody and welcome back.
A-1 podcast.
This bit doesn't actually feature, does it in the video,
so people will not know what I'm currently wearing.
But we are here today, Tommy, to go through our predictions,
and I am just moderately hyped for the Brazilian Grand Prix this weekend.
If you are on audio, you need to go to check out the video
because I've done something a little bit special for this weekend
because it's Brazil, it's into Lagos,
it's the best race week of it.
the year.
It is.
And yeah, I really, I think everyone will really appreciate, you know, you're dyeing your hair,
especially for the race.
I hope we all know that's real.
And, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Brazil is just so good.
I don't blame you for the hype because it is just, it's one of those races where sometimes,
over the last few years, it's really cemented itself as the best.
I think, if you'd ask me a couple of years ago, what's the best race?
I'd always be like, oh, maybe spa.
And then, like the best track and stuff.
But now I'm just like, no, it is just into Lagos.
It's just the best.
And it just delivers all the time.
It's crazy.
What are we doing, Tommy?
I feel like we're doing something.
We're going to make something really bad happen this weekend
where it's just going to be the dullest race ever with no overtakes.
It's going to be the first Formula One race with zero overtakes.
With it being a sprint weekend as well.
But either or, let's dive into our predictions,
starting with biggest good surprise.
Ooh, okay, let's settle ourselves in here
because I have gone for, Charle-le-Cla.
Yep, yep, yep, it's a Ferrari weekend this weekend,
and I am putting every single one of my eggs
straight into that Ferrari basket this weekend.
Forget Max Verstappen, that's why I did last time,
and it worked kind of,
but not to the degree that I thought,
whereas now I am fully confident
Ferrari going to have an amazing weekend.
That is amazing because
makes my prediction even funny as well
because I have gone for Fernando Alonzo.
It's the full delusion podcast from us both.
Okay.
And we're backing, yeah, we're backing them.
And Fernando has had an absolute mare.
so maybe I'm going for a little bit of a loophole
and even just points is good now
because of how bad Aston had been.
But he's got to come back fighting
and surely I'm just pinning my hopes on Fernando
to do something good.
I really don't want this season just to fizzle out for him
where he's just finishing like 14th and 15th
and retiring every race because of that Aston.
I saw something which I think goes around most
weeks where it was like simulator data and where it should be and where teams should be,
Aston Martin were eighth fastest in the thing that was going around.
So Fernando Alonso is going to have to really chef it up this weekend, I think.
It needs to definitely get into Q3 if he wants to have any hope.
Fifth in the championship in the eighth fastest car.
Just go.
Oh, here we.
Oh, no, you can't do that.
No, no, no, no, no.
No, no.
Because it was the second fastest.
That's what you'll write down.
Well, you know, we secure P7 in the driver's championship
in the eighth fastest car.
Yeah.
The goat.
Okay, cool.
All right.
So we are fully delusioning right now.
As we now go to, biggest flop.
I am very confident with this one.
I feel like I will be bagging a point.
Alpha Tauri.
I don't usually go for a team because I like to think,
ah, I need both drivers to do badly.
But I'm so confident that Alpha Tauri are not going to be quick this weekend.
off the back of, obviously, probably the best weekend they've had in a very long time
in terms of their innate raw speed around a track.
I think it was a one-off.
I hope it isn't, but that's where my flop is lying.
I think this is the first time I have actually gone for a team the entire year with my flop.
That sounds weird.
But I'm sorry in advance.
Interesting, because I've also gone for a team for biggest flop.
And I have gone for Red Bull.
Indeed.
Wearing a red bull hoodie.
But yes,
this is basically
like you mentioned about putting your eggs in one basket.
Maybe
we've just hyped into Lagos so much
and I'm so sorry when Maxusup and wins by four years
and yeah,
it ends up like just having
the best race ever and it's a bit of a dull race.
But of any track,
where surely there's got to be a little bit of chaos and craziness,
this is the one.
And yeah, the reason I've gone for a ball biggest flop is because,
well, they've won all but two races in the last year now.
And all it takes is for them not to win.
And I'm back in this point.
So, yeah.
Okay.
I mean, that is fair.
I was going to say that.
Like, it doesn't even need to be a bad race.
No, they could finish fourth and fifth or something, or third.
Or second and third.
Yeah, exactly.
Well, second and third, I think I'd argue.
Because Perez would be on the podium and I'd be like, well, look, you've gone for a team here, Tommy.
And Perez has had the greatest race he's had in about six races.
So it's going to have to be, yeah, Vastappan not P1 and Perez probably off the podium.
Yeah, we will see.
Okay, let's go to pole position now.
Because that's happening on a Friday, just so you remember.
Sprint week, Friday.
more chaos, and I have gone for
Charlerclair.
Charlecler.
Yes, Charlecler.
I'm back in my boy.
How dare I not back my boy at Mexico?
What am I doing?
I mean, I don't think even he thought he was going to get a pole position,
so I will let myself off slightly.
But this weekend, Ferrari, I think they're going to be good.
I think they're going to be great over one lap,
and more heartbreak and more, and a lower, sorry, percentage.
of conversion from pole to win rate will be added this weekend.
That'll be three in a row, wouldn't it, if he gets it, three polls in a row?
He's the goat.
The quali goat.
Pole position.
I think so.
Pole position, I have gone for Lando Norris.
How many times have you predicted Lando Norris this year?
Anything good.
And then he's always had a bad race when I hype him at.
You predicted him to win in Mexico?
Mexico. And he didn't even qualify, basically.
So maybe pole position will have a terrible, oh no, that means I'll have, yeah, I don't know.
Basically, I'm going for Lando. You've been driving so well. And why not? Brazil.
It's got to mix it up for Brazil. Although we've done quite a lot of delusional kind of predictions recently.
we're just kind of throwing stuff at the wall until it sticks.
And seeing what sticks and hardly anything has stuck this year
because Max has 16 wins.
Anyway, let's go to Sprint Shootout now.
And the winner of the Sprint Shootout is.
Wait, the pole position for Sprint.
The person fastest in the sprint shootout is,
Charlechle.
Back to back, little.
poll, not poles, one pole and then a one sprint shootout tire winner.
I saw someone send me a meme by the way.
It's not as a cap.
I saw someone send me this most savage meme ever
where it was like two pictures.
There was Max Verstappen and his trophy room
and all these wins that he's had
and all the big number one trophies, whatever.
And then it was Charles Clair's trophy cabinet
and it's literally just wheels.
From the pole position awards.
Oh my God, it is.
And I was like, oh, God.
God, I mean, he literally has 22 of them,
and he will surpass Fernando Alonzo's pole position record
if he takes one here this weekend.
But yes, he's going to get the sprint shootout poll as well.
Interesting.
Sprint shootout I have gone for Max Verstappen.
So mixed out between the two sessions,
which we have seen before,
despite us basically saying that it's just a repeat,
but a little sprinkling of rain in the air, maybe, who knows?
not actually too much into rain.
Actually, that's true. Yeah, I looked at the weather and I was like,
if I was Friday's rain, it's only practice.
Oh, wait, it's the sprint.
We have qualifying.
Yeah, actually, yeah, Jesus, I completely,
if I didn't even clock in my brain on Friday,
it literally says like heavy rain.
Although it's changed a lot, so we'll wait and see.
But just for the record, if it does rain,
max pole by 40 seconds.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, my 40 seconds.
In a qualifying lap.
But yeah, it's really.
Sprint shootout I have gone for, max for not to poll, not to win, but fastest P1, as it were.
Well, you know, that's all of a sudden going against your biggest flop territory, but we'll have to see.
Let's go to Sprint winner now.
You might have guessed where I'm going with this one.
Charlotte Clare!
Oh my God.
He wins the sprint because it's not long enough for his tyres to fall off and he gets pole position, gets sprint pole,
gets the sprint shootout P1
and then he wins the sprint as well
and I'm having, I'm going to have a great weekend.
You're wearing the wrong thing.
You should have a Monegasque flag really
and red and white hair and full shell.
No, I'm trying to like, come on into Lagos,
you can do it.
Give Ferrari a good car please.
As sprint winner, I have gone for Max Verstappen.
And I knew you were going to pull that face
because it's like,
how are you flopping?
How are you flopping?
How are you flopping if he's winning the sprint?
Well, you might, well, you can do.
different things and the, you know, just hedging my bets, but also like the thing is with
the sprint. Ah, you hedging. You're hedging. Yeah, I am a bit. But even with the sprint, you know,
if he wins a sprint and has a mare, it's still floppy because the Grand Prix is still
the goat, isn't it really? I would say, all right, hear me out right now. Okay, so you could get
both biggest flop and obviously the sprint winner as well if his combined total of points.
is less than 25 as if he's won a Grand Prix.
Oh, okay.
There you go.
I think that's fair.
Like that.
There you go.
I'm giving you an in.
I'm Michael Masseying right now, just for you.
Let's go to our top three then.
In P3, I am locking in Shaolin'lecler.
Oh.
Yeah, the delusion ends here, but still a podium.
Because it's a longer race to the sprint,
and he's not going to win, but he might get P3.
Your predictions are just like a race for Charlotte Clare.
He starts well with a lot of hype and then just, oh, okay, at the end.
Sorry, did I ask for the...
Do I need to be slandered after this year?
Do you really need to slander me?
Leave me alone.
P3, I have gone for Carlos Sites.
Okay.
And maybe he might even be on the podium and not just inheriting it.
That's true. He is very good around Brazil.
Of course, his best ever drive was a few years ago,
wasn't he from the back, and then managing to get onto the podium,
even though it wasn't on the podium at the time, inherited it, but still.
It was an amazing driving.
He's pretty good around it.
Back in the McLaren, yeah, where I started last, like you say,
and said it on our poll, didn't he, that it was his best drive ever?
I wonder if that's still the case after Singapore this year,
but it's probably close, I'd say.
It's probably more satisfaction
passing however many cars that he did
over a Brazil race than like
always being in the lead
and the mirror is going.
Let me give Lando DRS.
It's probably less fun that one.
Second place now.
I'm going for Lewis Hamilton.
I think Mercedes would still be very good.
Well, we say that as it off the back of Mexico,
but Lewis was very good in Mexico.
And I think he's outperforming the car at the moment.
He's really good around Brazil.
He loves Brazil.
Brazil loves him.
And, yeah, a little P2.
Yeah, a little P2 for Lewis.
Nice.
P2, I have gone for Lando Norris.
Another P2.
What are you cooking, Bellingham?
Because I know it's not a Red Bull in P1.
Okay.
It's a chaos, I think.
So we'll find out.
But, yeah, Lando.
Imagine.
Imagine that does happen, though.
say a Red Bull don't win and Landau's P2 again, that will hurt.
Yeah, what are you trying to do to Landau right now?
You jinxed him in Mexico and completely ruined his race weekend.
And now you're saying he's not going to win when a Red Bull doesn't win.
Well, look, I'm trying to do jinxes and not jinxes and everything.
I love how you're like, three races to go.
I'm behind Matt in the predictions championship.
I'm going to chef so hard when I'm literally on the Shao-Laclair delusion train.
I think you might look back at this and go, God, I just wish I'd just gone for Max for Staffman
of everything.
I'm 10 points behind.
No, I think, to be fair,
the last two races,
it will probably be maybe more normal,
though, Vegas, you never know,
because it's new.
And we're going to be there.
We sure are.
And Brazil, you've got to,
you've got to rustle something up in the kitchen,
haven't you, let's be honest.
Russell, is that a little bit of a slip going on there?
Tommy, let's see.
Okay, first position,
I am locking in.
Max Verstappen.
Max Verstappen wins the race after, you know,
after I have a whole weekend of delusion,
but it all coming true,
pole position, sprint shootout, sprint winner.
Max Verstappen will win the race because why wouldn't he?
17 wins this weekend and another point for me.
Thank you very much.
I'm being a terrible Max Verstappan fan now,
and has he ever won Brazil?
No, Tommy, he don't actually like Max Verstappen.
Has he ever won Brazil?
Yeah.
He must have.
because yes he did of course he did yeah he won in 20 20 yeah 20 no sorry 2019 I get confused
because there was the year that he was going to win and then got punted by Ockon and then had a few
seconds there as well and stuff so in my head for some reason I was like has he actually won Brazil
just two minutes of count now aren't there anyway um first place I have gone for
Lewis Hamilton.
I don't know if I'm happy or sad.
I thought you were going to say,
Charles LeCler,
and I was going to potentially get this video demonetized.
But instead, you went for Lewis Hamilton.
Talk to me why?
Because he's got to get away.
He's driving superbly this year.
It's going to happen at some point.
He's got to get,
he's got to get a win.
It's been far too long.
And Brazil is just his,
we say this a lot with Hamilton.
Hamilton because like he's so good at so many tracks and he's won so many races that you're
like Hungary is his track.
Brazil is his track.
Silverstone is his track.
But it's true.
Like Brazil is his second home.
He's literally like a, what is it like a national citizen or something.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So he'll be there.
He'll want to deliver for the crowd.
Which I always find absolutely bizarre in a weird way having watched like Brazil.
2008 and him being the rival to a Brazilian
to win the title and now he's like
the star there which is
it's cool. It's nice that it's
turned around there but
yeah I think I'm going for
Hamilton win and I also would really like to see it happen
Do you see it being a crazy
Hamilton win or a Hamilton win where he just drives off?
Well I see it because I've gone
for a poll for Lando Norris
maybe those two kind of battling
and Max
And you just think
Red Bull are off the pace
You just think
I just maybe
I have a bit of a mare
or like
maybe the weather
throws something crazy
into the mix
and they're like
a fourth or fifth
or something
Oh my God
You can't be on the podium
every race
Well we will have to see
Let's go to our one
crazy prediction now
and I'm going to go
with
the sprint
will be better
than the main race
Is that
is that crazy?
Yeah.
I think it is for Brazil.
Yeah, I think that's, I think that, you know,
Brazil can just rustle up
anything at any point.
And the sprint obviously gives it less chance for it to do that.
But I think the sprint will be juicy.
Please be rain and the sprint again.
So there's like tire changes and stuff like we had in Austria,
was it?
Yeah.
Basically a pit stop.
Give us a pit stop in the sprint.
And then we'll be back to basically saying the sprint was
good. Everyone would be like, I thought you didn't like the sprint, but it's like, no, it can still
be good. It's the format we're talking about. The format doesn't change just because of the weather,
but the weather can make things exciting. It's two different things. Indeed. My crazy prediction,
I have tripled down and gone, Red Bull don't win the Grand Prix. Same. Oh, so you're literally
just like, yeah, our biggest flopped it, so I'm going to go with a crazy prediction as well,
which it is crazy. I won't even take that away from you, but my God, all of our eggs have gone into
some sort of basket in this particular Grand Prix.
You can tell it's Brazil and it's been good because when we do our thing on
Instagram where we put like the fan questions out and people make their prediction.
Normally it's like Max wins by four years and it's all just like that.
And then Brazil it's like Hamilton wins, LeCleur wins, Sites wins, Norris wins.
Like it's just people who just expect Brazil to be different and I really hope it is the case
sat here with a cape and a red ball jumper on.
But I'm a Formula One fan first and it'd be cool to see.
I did reply to the tweet that you put out with a bold prediction just saying it would be
the worst race of the season, but I didn't want to actually put that into my predictions
because I don't think that's going to happen.
I don't even know how Brazil would be the worst race of the season.
You cannot wear that.
I think it's impossible.
Yeah, exactly.
And people are like, why are you jinxing it?
I'm like, surely if I said it was the best race of the season, that would be a jinx.
And then I was just trying to chef a little bit, trying to get the jinxing powers going.
people started questioning it, so I had to then go and clarify,
and then the jinx, you know, it's ruined now.
So well done to everyone that replied to that tweet.
You ruined it.
Let's go to the three crazy predictions then from you wonderful lot.
First and foremost, one from Hector 4 Smash, Checo podium.
How is that a crazy prediction?
But it is.
But it is.
King Leon juiced.
There won't be any VSCs or safety cars.
Now, that is pretty bold.
and Jones RF 873
Double Hass points
That's bold as well
K-mag pole position soon come
Yeah
When did Hass last get a point
It must have been ages ago
Was it Austria?
Austria, was it Austria sprint?
I think it was Austria sprint
When it Hulk went on a bit of a mad one
And that is it
We cannot wait for Brazil
It is a sprint race weekend
So we will be live on Twitch
Friday, Saturday
and Sunday, so do not miss that.
Also, P1 live show tickets are still available
if you want to come along to either Manchester, Glasgow,
or London, 3rd, 5th and 10th of December.
We'd love to see you there,
and we can't wait to see you live on Twitch as well
or for all of our post-race reaction content.
Tommy's brain has switched off,
so now I'm going to ask him,
what are your final thoughts?
Final thoughts are everybody do a rain dance
for the next few days
to spice up an already spicy race
and let's have
surely Brazil's going to be good
and the way this season's gone
maybe we'll just have all the action
that we've been kind of robbed of a little bit
in one absolute banger of a race
and I'd take it to be fair
absolutely
and on that note we'll see you very soon
for all of the Brazilian GP content
come on Brazil! Bye!
Bye!
