Starting point is 00:00:05 Hello everybody and welcome back to the B1 podcast with Matt and Tommy. Guys, it's the last race of the year. Oh, goodness gracious me, what are we going to do without Formula One in our lives for a couple of months? Tommy, how are you feeling right now, bro? I don't want the season to end because it's been so, so good, so unexpected. And yeah, I can't believe the season has come to the conclusion already. It's quite insane, actually. It's feel like it's flown by.
Starting point is 00:00:34 My mum's calling me. Hi, Mom, I'm just doing a podcast. What's up? Are you won? Congratulations. We'll leave this in the video. My mom just won at Bowls. Congratulations to my mother for winning at Bowls. What was it? Biggest, good surprise. Who is going to win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix? Charles, okay. Yeah, checks in the post. Rones in the family. Thanks, ma'am. Love you, bye. All right, let's get back into that then. Sorry about the phone call from my mother,
Starting point is 00:01:10 You know, you've got to pick up when your mum calls. That is for sure. She reckoned Charlotte Clare's going to win. So that's good. Let's see if I'm on that same delusional hype train for the final race of the year. Now, before we dive into all of our predictions, we have a five-star review to share with you all
Starting point is 00:01:22 to end the prediction series off. If you want to leave a five-star review, let's know why you love this podcast. It helps us out massively. It only takes 30 seconds of your time. It really appreciates it. This one is from, He-He-Hee-Hee-2-4-5-6 in Canada.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Started watching about a year ago. I'm so happy I found these two, because they feed off of each other so smoothly and their knowledge and opinions of Formula One are second to none. Thank you, Matt and Tommy, for providing us with such an entertaining podcast, Shal World Drivers Champion, 2025,
Starting point is 00:01:51 support from Canada. Thank you so much. He-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-hose-4-6, one-two-five-seven-six. Really appreciate it. That's lovely. Cool, we feed off each other. We feed off each other,
Starting point is 00:02:01 like the sandwiches that we like. That's a rogue thing for just audio listeners, isn't it? But anyway, okay, let's get into our predictions, where the scores a 56-54 to Tommy heading into the final race should it be two points absolutely not
Starting point is 00:02:18 it should be one no it should be even we should literally be level on points if it wasn't for Lando Norris's disgustingly generous display in the sprint we've actually been robbed of a level on points decider
Starting point is 00:02:30 I think Lando Norris has got a lot to explain for himself actually he does this is race fixing when it comes to this prediction championship. Disgraceful. So let's see what kind of, you know, what sort of strategy you've gone for, Tommy? Have you, have you put yourself in my head? Are you going to try and sort of defend where you can, goal hang? Or have you gone for something crazy? That's,
Starting point is 00:02:54 that is what I want to ask you before we go into it. Where are we, where's your head at? Where my head is at is I am just running my own race and, look, this one's for the team. And we're going to, we're going to take home that dub. It's the final stretch. The team? What the Tommy team? Yeah, yeah. My team of predictions.
Starting point is 00:03:13 We've worked hard this year. Interesting. You've worked hard. Okay. All right. Let's get into it then, shall we? Biggest good surprise. Okay, here we go.
Starting point is 00:03:28 Ferrari. Ferrari, biggest good surprise because they're winning the Constructors' Championship. They're going to do it. I am going out in a blaze of glory. Okay? Screw this. We go hard or we go hard. or we go home.
Starting point is 00:03:43 I'm most likely going home. I mean, I'm literally recording this from home. So this will probably age terribly. But biggest good surprise, Ferrari. Come on the lads. Okay. I respect it. Good times.
Starting point is 00:04:01 Okay, biggest good surprise, I have gone for Yuki Sonoda. I think he is going to have a banger of a race. He is a bit of an Abu Dhabi specialist, to be honest. He led the race last year. In 2021, he finished fourth in a race where I can't believe he didn't get remembered because it was clearly the big moment from that race. And, yeah, Yuki's brilliant around here, and I think he's going to have a good weekend.
Starting point is 00:04:30 And then he'll cook Lawson and then Lawson will get the roadball drive. But no, I think Yuki's going to have a great weekend. and then of course, full of confidence going into the Red Bull test that he's going to have as well. Yes, he is going to have that. Very excited to see how he gets on there and whether Horner even decides to stay in the garage to watch what Uki-Snoter ends up doing out on track. But anyway, we now move to biggest flop. So my powers, okay? Help me here.
Starting point is 00:05:07 Help me win this predictions championship and also help Ferrari win the constructors. My biggest flop is McLaren. Oh, okay. I'm going for back-to-back teams here, Tommy. I have not, the eggs are well and truly going into a singular basket right now. McLaren, biggest flop, as we all know, there is, this is purely based on... You've gone for a turn-one dive-bomb, haven't you here? Fibes, delusion and everything else.
Starting point is 00:05:34 I would love to see Ferrari win the Constructors Championship. It would be such a unexpected one. you look at maybe six, seven races ago, Ferrari were out of the fight. It was McLaren versus Red Bull. I would love to see Ferrari win the Constructors Championship. So I am also, yes, trying to help them there and say biggest flop McLaren. Sorry McLaren fans, don't hate me, but look, I'm literally wearing a Ferrari top. Come on.
Starting point is 00:05:59 That is a very interesting prediction that you've done there because my biggest flop, I've gone for Lando Norris. And the thinking behind it is actually that you're welcome Lando Norris fans because we have, predicted him very highly and I feel like every time I predict him to do well something goes wrong for the poor guy so I'm going to see if I can reverse his fortune but now we're also going up against your biggest flop so it's the battle of the real biggest flop that actually works and my biggest flop that always fails and we'll see so that we are the championship is on the line. But yeah, I've gone for Landon Norris, which is a, I guess, a bold one after last weekend. But yes, that's what I've gone for. Okay, interesting. Okay, so you are
Starting point is 00:06:55 slightly goal hanging with that one. But anyway, well, I'll move on. That's upset me slightly, that you've gone for something that's similar to me. And let's go now to pole position. Charlotte, Clair. Oh, baby. Oh, we're in for a treat this weekend. Maybe. Let's see. I said I'm going out in a blazer glory, and this is what it is, right? Because this just combine all of the elation of what I am predicting and then actually beating you in the predictions championship.
Starting point is 00:07:35 I think I might actually disintegrate. So that's what I've gone for is pure elation, pure pandemonium, Charle-le-Cleur-Pol position. Interesting. Don't you dare go for the same thing? No, I promise I will stick with me. my original prediction, which is Max for Stappen. I'm going for Max for pole position.
Starting point is 00:07:59 I think Abu Dhabi is a track he's been very good at. Of course, I've not really done this a lot since the start of the year because he's not had the car, but I think Max has shown that he can dial in that Red Bull still to do a great performance and with three practice sessions, back to the old three practice sessions around this track of course track you know is very well and he's very good at
Starting point is 00:08:26 I could see him grabbing the pole position and of course he does not know it doesn't exist in his brain to have a little bit of a shutdown and take his foot off the gas just because he's won the championship he does not know that at all
Starting point is 00:08:43 okay interesting glad you went for something different I'm also now praying that we've all gone for something different in these top threes as well so let's go to those top threes. In third position, I have gone for Carlos Sines. Don't you dare smile like that because I've locked it in and I'm coming up with new terms and conditions where we can't go for the same top three. I've initiated that right now off the back of beautiful Michael Masseying this to keep it entertaining until the end. Don't you dare. So Carlos Sines P3 because
Starting point is 00:09:15 Ferrari are going to be quick, but I'm under no illusions that other teams will also not be quick and I don't think Ferrari are going to run away with this, hence why I've gone for Carlos Seines, P3. I've also gone for biggest flop McLaren because if they don't win the constructors, even if they have a very solid P4 and 5, but Ferrari win, then I'm getting points everywhere out of my ears right now. So, P3, Carlos Seins. P3, I've gone for Charle-Claire. So I don't know if you're happy or sad that I've not gone for the same thing, but then put Charles in P3. Yeah, gone for for Charles, I think, I do expect Ferrari to be better than Qatar,
Starting point is 00:09:56 a track that suits them more, and I do think Char is going to give it everything to try and finish P2 in the championship for himself and also bag Ferrari that Constructors' Championship as well. But will it be enough? I've gone for P3. Oh, will it be enough for your championship and will it be enough for the constructors as well? So much on the line in second position.
Starting point is 00:10:19 Okay, I bottled it slightly, Lando Norris. I'm just going to go for a point here. I'm going to try and get a point. Don't make that face because, again, I've locked it in. You've got to come up with your own thing. Landon Norris P2 because my delusion only takes me so far. Not okay, there's been a singular egg put in a different basket, and that's Landon RSP2.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Well, I've gone for Lando Norris P2 as well. No, you can't do that, Jeffrey. Why, just because you go first doesn't mean I can't not do it. I didn't react to your prediction. Okay, I'm changing it then, Max Verstappen P2. Okay. I'm not going for the same as Tommy because Tommy is not playing fair and by the rules that I've just made up on the spot.
Starting point is 00:10:59 So Max Verstappen P2 is then because Tommy, that's fine. To be fair, if Landon Ars finished with P2, you've definitely probably won everything anyway. So I'm going to go for Max for Stap and P2. Thank you very much. Yeah, London R's P2 then. I think he's going to, this is basically me hedging my bets because of course I've gone for a big
Starting point is 00:11:21 bigger slot for him but putting him in my P2 for my race prediction and then the winner the winner for me is Charles LeCler just let me dream let me believe let me just soak in this for a second because I'm going to lose this predictions championship by about
Starting point is 00:11:44 eight points but let me just this second believe it is possible okay Charlotte Clare P1 I think Ferrari going to be better than they were in Qatar. The rest is purely hope and delusion. But if this comes in, we're also going to be in Abu Dhabi and we'll witness this live. I will be inconsolable.
Starting point is 00:12:07 So, Charlotte Clare P1. Can I just say before I go for my P1, I do respect it. They're just going all in, just the ultimate dive bomb just everything just go for it why not no kind of hanging about and waiting for DRS on lap 3 just 400 meters back right now Tommy you can see me and you're sending from p20 into into P1 basically you're just going all all it fair play um P1 I've gone for max for step and I can see him uh ending the year on a high of course he's at a fantastic end to
Starting point is 00:12:50 the season when it didn't look like he was going to and it looking like it was going to be a very close championship fight. But I think he will continue to kind of extend his lead further and have a great end to the year at a track that he loves. So P1 match just happened. Simply Lovely. We now head to our one crazy prediction. Mine is, Ferrari wins the Constructors' Championship.
Starting point is 00:13:22 That's great. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Ferrari wins the Constructors Championship. Goodness gracious me. Did you expect anything else, realistically, for everyone watching and listening? Did you expect anything else? Maybe, but look, I've done 23 races of reasonably, sometimes deluded, but I've tried. This one, let's just see what happens.
Starting point is 00:13:57 Let's roll the dice. The red eggs are truly in the red basket, all of them, every single one. Yeah, even a singular Lando Norris one has now been changed to Maxfussappen. Yeah, you've just gone absolutely ham. My one crazy prediction I have gone very bold here. Will it open the door and will it not come true to give you a sniff of the championship? But I am going for Jack Dewan finishes in the points on his debut. It's going to turn up and he's going to get in the points.
Starting point is 00:14:33 and yeah, I think this is maybe a bit of just thinking that how drivers have come in this season, a lot of F2 drivers and drivers with not a lot of hope and expectation perhaps and been able to deliver the job. Maybe there's a weird thing in Formula One at the moment where having no expectation is helping these drivers, I don't know, but for whatever reason, these drivers are coming in. doing a great job. So I'm backing Jack Duhin for a points finish. I mean, that would be awesome. We spoke to him briefly, didn't we, in Silverstone? He's a lovely lad.
Starting point is 00:15:11 And that would be quite the turnaround, wouldn't it for him, to race randomly in the final race of the season and also to score points. So yeah, I hope for his sake, I hope it comes true. For your sake, I hope it doesn't, because screw you and I win the championship. Right, so finally three crazy predictions from you lot. P1-Patron member Lumixion.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Alpine and Hass tie on points. Goodness, that would require a lovely little haul from Hass in the final race of the season. P1 patron member Heather more or less. Lewis wins. And P1 patron member, Jowanko. I tried to say it in a way that didn't sound bad. J.W. Anko. Still sounds bad.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Okay. That person, Checo scores points. See that. I didn't go for that because I ain't touching that. because it didn't work out for me and I even celebrated it and I thought I was on for a point and it didn't happen.
Starting point is 00:16:08 Interesting. Well, there you go. That is it, Tommy. The predictions are in, locked in. Who's going to win the Constructors' Championship? I think it will be... I mean, I think it's going to be McLaren but as I said in the main race podcast
Starting point is 00:16:24 that they've kept us guessing and this season just keeps turning on its head all the time. I do think Ferrari will run it close and the way the season has gone, I wouldn't put it past it almost kind of coming down to the end and a certain car having to, maybe one of the drivers having to do something special to make a move at the end or something.
Starting point is 00:16:47 Who knows, but there's going to be, it's going to be an interesting race in terms of just like all the goodbyes and things that happen in Abu Dhabi because, you know, you've got, well, maybe Paris retiring, Hamilton saying goodbye to Mercedes,
Starting point is 00:17:04 all these stories up and down the pit lane. Carl saying goodbye to Ferrari. Indeed. Can you win the title for them? That would be a beautiful ending until you believe you go straight back to Ferrari as soon as Hamilton retires. Okay, well there you go.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Thank you for your beautiful final thought there, Tommy. And we will see you in Abu Dhabi. The next thing you see is will be us in Abu Dhabi. So that would be very exciting. I'm looking forward to it. And we'll see you very soon. lots of love bye
Starting point is 00:17:32 okay so you've got to pack your suitcase because you're going on holiday the only reason I'm saying that is my household is that I also need to do my packing and haven't even touched it I've done some washing
Starting point is 00:17:46 which is good very adult of me but you're also going on holiday aren't you and you need to pack your suitcase so that's brilliant but don't miss the F1 race just because you're going on holiday
Starting point is 00:17:56 and get get with it you know you need to watch Ferrari win the constructors thanks have you done any Christmas shopping yet No, no, I haven't. I've missed Black Friday and I've done absolutely nothing. What about you? Yes, I'm sorted. Well prepared. Of course you are. You're such a daddy, aren't you? Love it. Bye. Goodbye.
