Hello everybody and welcome back to the B1 podcast with Matt and Tommy. Triple Header is fully underway. The second of three Grand Prix weekends coming up and it is the Monaco Grand Prix. We've got more predictions locked in. We've got a deficit if you are on Team Matt. It's 1914 to Tommy. He's extending his lead. It's quite disgusting if you ask me.

And I need to know, Tommy. are you going to extend it further? Probably not, based on my predictions, maybe a bit of a spoiler. But I'm hyped for this one because finally we're getting the Monaco that I've been praying for for the implemented two-stop and we're about to see if it is any good or if I am indeed in the bin. So see. I'm really hoping that you're not in the bin for once, Tommy. For once, I don't want you in the bin because I want a banger of a Monaco, not just

on the Saturday, but on the Sunday as well. Yes, please. Right, it is my time to go first. So, let's head into a good surprise. My good surprise is Charlotte Clare. What? For Monaco. Come on.

So I'm also scoring zero points. But now, I'm going for Charlotte, Claire, good surprise. We're not going off obviously previous Monaco form because he won the last one. May I remind you all? worst race we've ever seen but there is literally no logic

there's no logic in the slightest I just feel like if Ferrari want to unlock the potential can they do it now and what a place to do at the Monaco it's Charlotte Claire's backyard I think he's excellent around here anyway

so if the car is even remotely quick my boy's gone be there he will be I'm sure I have gone for a good surprise Esther Banok-O-Con also a very handy driver around Monaco of course you're seeing the one lap stop aren't you he's stopping on lap one yeah well this is it this is it I'm my logic here is

23 when he did that unbelievable race and qualifying in the Alpine and I know he's in a much worse Hasse this year we have seen them kind of sometimes be able to deliver something sometimes right at the back of the grid so we'll see which one is which but maybe in Imla he was practising the Monaco Masterclass where pits on lap 1 and try something completely different

so maybe an amazing result for Ocon we'll see but I do genuinely think that Ockon is just a great driver around here so I've gone for Esty Besty bestie famously once said in Monaco and never wants to say it ever again

let's go to a big flop Tom Belliam I have gone for Ferraris Lewis Hamilton I don't think Hamilton's going to have a good race around here I don't think the Ferrari will be suited to Monaco that being said

I do think Charles just always delivers in that car anyway and has done at Monaco even the race is where he has crushed out or been unlucky he's always got pace and always over delivers what that car can do but I think Hamilton when he's got his car in the right window

he loves it and we see the best out of him and there have been kind of great moments from Hamilton this year but when it's bad he can struggle quite a lot and I think this might be one of those. Does he even like Monaco that much? No, I don't. It's a weird thing to say when he's won it multiple times but it was always one of those races

that even in the Mercedes dominance era Rosberg was much quicker and would always be the one that was winning the race and a bit of a specialist, you know, equally the kind of the races he has one there. We hit the wall once, didn't he? Yeah, hit the wall once and helped him. And yeah, so it did me isn't one of this better circuit. So that's why I've gone for Lewis Hamilton.

Okay, dokey. My big flop were teams two points, just were they? Oh, had we even clarified that in the rules yet? I don't know what we did. Two points now. They're two points. Okay, two points. From now on, from now on.

Monaco, the two, mandatory two-pointer for the... Yeah, absolutely. I've gone for a team for the first time I can't... My big flop is so bad that I'm just... I'm throwing caution to the wind here. My big flop is McLaren. Oh, okay. Again, literally zero logic.

They've been quick around every track. And if they finish fourth and fifth, that's a big flop for me. genuinely. So for me, I feel like Monaco might well just, especially considering how qualifying has been very close amongst three different teams, McLaren could be on the wrong end of that. It's going to be very close. And if they can't get track position, they might well be stuck there. So I've gone for a big flop McLaren. It goes against every bit of logic in my brain. That's why I've gone for it. So there you go. Interesting. Yeah, I should have carried it.

on talking there, but instead... Sorry, I thought you were waiting, opening up to me to question it. Yeah, I thought you might have just popped off a bit more. Well, it's an interesting theory. Monaco is one of those tracks, despite everyone saying it's the most predictable and boring race, where the form actually changes compared to the other seasons, you know, even Max dominating start last year. I think he was sixth or something in Monaco and wasn't really anywhere, so the form can change.

So you're telling me there is a bit of logic, which means I'm not scoring any points. Whoopsy! Okay, let's go to pole position then. Don't laugh. Straight face. My poll position for the Monaco Grand Prix of 2025 is Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-cha-cha-chala's getting pole and win. Well, maybe not winning.

I don't know. I haven't, I haven't. P1, Charlotte-Cla. Okay. Look, just let me. cook. I'm five points behind. And if I'm going to, if I'm going to have a good week, which it is not happening so far, we've had seven, seven weekends and sprint sessions as well. And I've scored 14 points. If it's going to happen, it's going to go big. Like I would,

even if I went like, McLaren, yeah, Oscar's going to win. And I scored loads of points. It wouldn't feel as good as if I did something like this, a bit left field. And got the down. And actually remember that time when you were like right at the start of the season when you did a really delusional for our prediction and ended up getting more points than me that was actually really close. So maybe it's the best tactic. Yeah, we're not going to speak into existence. So there you go. Who have you gone for pole position, Tommy?

Pole position, I have gone for another Lecler, Oscar Piastri. Oh, okay. I think I do get your logic about, about McLaren. I didn't think it's an outrageous bet, but I just think Oscar Piaastri around here last year was very good, looked very, very quick. even when McLaren weren't as strong as they were. And I think Oscar is going to be rapid around Monaco. So I've gone for an Oscar Piastri pole position. Yeah, he just missed out, didn't he last time?

He did, yeah. He did, yeah. He was on the front row. So, yeah, that's not, that's a very safe bet, if anything. So there you go. Right, let's head to the top three. In third position, Tommy. In third position, I have gone for Alex Albon,

as Matt looks around in. pure and I love how I'm shocked when I've just put a driver in the eighth fastest team to be a good surprise at the poll was it what's Williams now? Fourth fastest? Maybe, yeah. Alex Albin, I know Williams are the car that are meant to be good on the streets at Monza

but I think Alvin is driving with confidence he's been amazing this season. I think Imala there was. such a great opportunity for him to get a podium, he's going to be even more determined to do it. And I do genuinely think that the two-stop thing could throw a bit of a curveball in this race because, you know, you get a nicely timed VSC or do something a bit different. We know that it's pretty much impossible to overtake. So it could, in theory, be complete chaos and random.

I'm hyping up Monaco and it's going to be a stinker. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. You know what, you have three points if that comes in. Yeah, that's how confident I am. Okay. I regret everything. Why have I said that? Okay, in third position I have gone for, George Russell.

He's back to the podium. Mercedes will be reasonably quick, I think. I think Imola was a bit of an anomaly. When you look at George Russell, the only time that he's not finished in the top five was Imola race. So, yeah, I think George will be back on the podium with a lovely P3. In second position, I have gone for Max Verstappen. Yeah, Max will hustle the car to a lovely little P2 or P3 on the green.

not going to beat Charle LeClaire. It will take pole by half a second. That's a gimmee, a given even. But yeah, I think Max will still be very competitive. And if I'm going with the fact that McLaren aren't going to be very good, then I'm sticking with my guns right now, and I'm going all in on that. So when McLaren won to it, I will look like an idiot.

But there you go. Max for Stapham and P2. P2, I have gone for Oscar Piastri. Oh, an Oscar pole, but no victory. A pole to no victory. You're about saying Carlos Sines is going to win, aren't you? we're about to find out I do think

Oscar would be very good around here I'd be surprised if he wasn't the quicker McLaren based on last year and kind of suits the way he drives will he get the W I've gone for P2 Okey dokey what about P1 Tommy Who have you gone for?

Oh this is a good one It is a good one It is is Kimmy Antonelli. Kimmy Antonelli is going to win the Monaco Grand Prix and the Italian national anthem will ring around Monaco. Yeah, I've gone for Kimi Antonelli.

I think Kimi Antelelli is going to win Monaco. I just think... I thought mine were the most delusional coming into this. Can you tell I've got a 1914 lead? Antonelli. Antonelli. I just think something... I just think something crazy is going to happen.

I couldn't... I basically just went with my absolute gut of thinking something crazy is going to happen. And then I know that I'd be so annoyed if something crazy did happen and I'd changed it. So I'm going to stick to it. And it's absolutely crazy delusion and ridiculous. But I just feel like something weird's going to happen at Monaco. It's going to be piano ver, but, you know, that's fair enough. I like the fact that you've gone to something crazy.

I haven't gone for something crazy. In first position, I have gone for chocolate. Charles winning it all, guys. Charles running it all. It's taken a while for the delusion. I literally, I think, said in a podcast only a few days ago that I can't believe the state that Ferrari are currently in. But I feel like the pecking order, as Tommy's already said as well,

the Oracle of all Formula One, that the pecking order can change at Monaco. And it's a driver track. It's a confidence track. And Charlotte has no confidence in his car. So why would it change it to Monaco? But here we are. I'm here for it.

Everyone's here for it. And you just know it's going to be gorgeous if it does happen. And I will just also like to take this moment to congratulate Lando Norris on winning the Monaco Grand Prix. Because finally, you've not put it in your prediction. So well done, Lando on the victory. If that happens, we need to really study. We need to really study what's going on here with these predictions. But there you go.

A crazy top three. Let's head to another crazy thing. Oh, one crazy prediction. I have locked in. Charlotte Cleveins. No, it's nothing to do with Ferrari, actually. No McLaren in the top three. Oh, okay.

So I'm sticking again with my top three that I've gone for, and I've said no McLaren in the top three. Interesting. Yeah. It's also very interesting because if it happens, there's an very good possibility that both of our crazy predictions come in, because mine is no one from the top three in qualifying is on the podium.

Tommy is cooking up a... I am cooking up an absolute... Formula one game with your mate on the controller round Monaco Grand Prix kind of vibe here. You're going to be wall riding and all sorts. What is going on? What have you been thinking? I'm just praying that this two-stop thing

just gives us absolute carnage because... is praying. I'm just hoping that F1 strategists have had it easy for too long with their one-stops, that they all just go absolute chaos and it's all just carnage. Lap one, lap two, done for the day. Now, that is actually less delusional, I think. I think a little P3 is absolutely. It's almost like, yeah, yeah, it is allowed because it's, yeah, I think the fact that it's not, is it had one podium, is it? Was it Saudi? It was the only podium. So yeah. He's having another one.

He is having another one. I mean, I'd be amazed if he didn't because for all the, you know, I know I've predicted like absolute carnage, but he is just so good around here. And every time it's not really been a race where he's not been competitive. I don't think around here. You're making me believe, Tommy. You're making me believe. Right, let's head to the family top three.

It's five, two to the belly. Ellingham's and I believe Tommy is drafting a human being older than three years old this week. However, we'll start with mine and it is my dad. So my dad has the most will knowledge out of my entire family because he's been watching for longest. And we're going to ring him right now to find out, hello dad. How are you? Hello, Matt. All right.

Yeah, good thanks. So Monaco Grand Prix predictions, are you ready to submit your third position, please? Charles LeClerc. Wow. It's like... It's home race, and it? It's opium. Dad, I mean, look.

I don't care what you say. No, you don't care. No, you will care because I've gone for a good surprise, Charles LeCler, pole position, Schallelagh, and that he wins. So... Well, I'm going for third, I'm not that. All right, well, you just went from, like,

yeah, a little P3 to shoot me down. Okay, all right, let's not, let's not, you know, shoot down his chances. P2, please. Oh, this is so tricky. I'm going for Landau. I think. Lando P2 and in first position

Yeah, I don't mind that. A max P1. I can see that happening potentially. You know, These are the driver's tracks that we speak of. And then Alando P2. So no Oscar on the podium for my dad.

I will, I am, I nearly went for Mac's biggest flop, actually. I think, I don't think Red Bull are going to get around here. Big flop, actually. We'll see. Big flop, of course. Yeah, come on. A very branding, Tommy. Think about it.

Just for pure hilarity. My top three are Kimmy Antonelli first, Piastri second and Alex Album third. Wow. Well, Monsab, we saw an Aston Martin Lurig coming back. down through France, maybe it's on its way to Monaco. So she was desperate that I was going to say Alonzo in the top three. Sadly, I don't think that's going to happen as much as I love Fernand.

Because we might have bought a bit more delusion. Because you haven't mentioned it enough. I'm sure once he's watched this podcast, he'll know that you're very excited for a two-stop strategy.

And also interestingly, actually, now I think about it, we're very close to obviously the start of the weekend now and we didn't hear, we've not heard any more about the rules essentially of how the two-stop is going to work because of course we had that whole debate, go back and watch the video if you haven't seen it where we're discussing the kind of two-stop monaco thing and there was a lot of talk of would it need to be like a mandatory window like like you do in f2 but so far the the one the lap one lap two dream is on it's gonna have all been laid out for us and when we post this no and i will say f you i'm changing all my prediction sommy that is it see you soon i'll love to goodbye goodbye my chore is to get the candles out
