everybody. And welcome back to the B1 podcast with Matt and Tommy. It's race week, it's
predictions week. We're back once again. The dream is alive for us, Max Verstappen fans around the
world, including myself and Tommy. 63 points, Tommy, six races to go. And it's, there's
penultimate, no. Is it the penultimate sprint? No, three, we've got three sprints left,
haven't we? So it's not penultimate. What's the one before that? Tree Ultimate. I'm
making up words now.
We've got three sprint left, yeah.
Yeah.
We've got Austin, we've got Brazil and we've got Qatar, right?
Yeah.
So this is the third, fourth, fourth sprint of the year.
Free to go.
Are you looking forward to this one?
I am.
Yeah, it's good.
Austin is such an underrated circuit.
We say it all the time and sometimes there'll be bits in the race where you go,
oh, is Austin that good?
And then it does seem to just deliver like really exciting moment.
So hoping for more of the same.
Me too.
before we get into all predictions, this absolutely makes sense to say that we are doing our P1 live delusion tour in the US.
It's the United States Grand Prix. Come on, you can see the segue.
United States and Canada tour. It's happening in a matter of weeks.
So get yourself a ticket and come and see me and Tommy.
There's no guarantee that we will come back to the US in the near future.
We don't know. We don't know our plans.
But we'd love to have you at the delusion tour.
It's going to be a hell of a lot of fun.
So get your tickets. There'll be a link in the description.
Right.
It is 45, 44 to Tom Bellingham.
Is that correct?
Have we got the correct score?
It is absolutely correct.
It's one point in it.
Incredible.
Sadly, I'm not getting a double pointer for the flop.
I saw your comments.
Thanks for all the support, sarcasm.
But look, my flop, wow, I really need to finish that sentence quickly, don't I?
My flop streak was quite something.
Well, not streak.
I think it was like seven in the last nine.
It's been very good.
Tommy, it's your turn to go first, so can you please hit me with your good surprise?
I will do. My good surprise is Gabrielle Bortoletto.
I'm feeling like, hopefully, we get the old Bortoletto back.
Bortoletto back.
Bortoletto is back.
Went on this amazing run, and yeah, it just seems like last race in particular was very tough for him,
but I think he's going to do well here.
Sprint weekend.
We'll be back to his best.
Back to his best.
All the bees,
you're flying with the alliteration right now.
I absolutely love to see it.
Okay, Bortoletto locked in for Tommy.
My good surprise is Max Verstappen.
Oh, God's sake.
He's winning it all.
He's winning the sprint.
Okay, let's not ruin all the predictions.
And to be fair,
well just keep my eggs very much spread out of one particular basket because I have to win
this prediction championship more than anything. It's going to be Max Verstappen. Yeah. I just sprint weekends
work well with Max Verstappen, I think, I believe. And he's very quick, up to speed. A Red Bull that's
actually working is what I'm seeing right now. The Singapore bogey track is out the way. He loves Austin.
And I think that this could be a very special weekend for all of us Max Verstappen fans out there.
Oh, interesting.
I hope you're right.
Over the last two weekends, by the way,
and thinking that we're both Max fans.
Yeah, if you've just joined.
You're like, what's this Max for Steppen podcast?
Yeah, it's not.
I promise.
I'm a Sherlock fan through and through.
Right, let's head to a big flop.
And my prediction for this week is Kimmy Antonelli.
I'm sorry to all Kimmy Anthony fans.
I really am.
This, as if you knew, this is all done on vibes.
I don't genuinely think actually,
funny and on the fly is that weird chemical thing that every single time he does well at
if you haven't seen it I think we have mentioned on the podcast it's like food coloring
is a food coloring thing and I wonder if it's banned in Austin because every time it
isn't banned that particular food coloring Kimmy and Sane does insanely well it's if you've
never heard of this mean before it is actually wild it's really funny his like
average finish finishing position in a in a country where the food coloring is banned
basically like 12th or something and then when it's allowed it's like fifth and it's
it's so weird I need to look it up I'm looking up right now I need to titanium dioxide so is
titanium dioxide band in Austin no it's not Kimmy Anthony masterclass he's winning he's winning
he's winning he's winning at all I'm coming it's still Kimmy Anthony a big flop um no reason other than
vibes sorry Kimmy
Okay, speaking of Italy, big flop, I've gone for Ferrari.
This has a double DSQ written all over it.
The plank isn't even lasting the sprint.
Yeah, I appreciate that they had a terrible, you know,
I'm going for a big flop after one of the cars had no brakes,
the other was lifting, coasting the entire Grand Prix.
So that's how bad I think this race is going to be for Ferrari.
Yeah, I just think their struggles.
will be even more extreme here at a track that is, you know, of course,
they've been, Charlotte Clare got disqualified at before.
And that's before, you know, that's when he had a car that Plank could normally last
to Grand Prix.
So, yeah, I'm not seeing good times for Ferrari.
Okay, great.
And to be fair, your flops for Ferrari have been very accurate this year.
So not looking forward to that one whatsoever.
sprint pole position Tommy I've gone for Max for Stappan and I think you might be changing it um yeah
it's interesting you went for good surprise because sprint weekends there's something about max
he does just he's one of those drivers that just goes straight out the blocks and is quick
and you know you normally see it in a lot of races if you get like a wet practice session he doesn't
He doesn't dial in and do a few laps.
He'll put like a ridiculous lap in.
And he's always been that kind of driver that just goes for it immediately.
The sprints do seem to suit him quite nicely.
So yeah, and it's a circuit that he likes.
So Sprint pole gone for Max.
So by way of the regulations, I must now announce that yes,
and to be fair, the F-bomb I said under my breath is probably enough evidence.
But I will also just say that yes, I was going to go for Max for Staben.
Sprint pole.
So instead, I have changed it to Lando Norris.
which is not a bad reserve prediction, to be honest with you,
because I think McLaren will be very strong here.
As much as I say, Max Verstapp and good surprise,
I think McLaren will be very much fighting Max.
Could well be a mouth-watering prospect, to be honest with you.
I'm very excited to see who will be quickest this weekend.
But yeah, Landon-Norris pole position, sprint pole, sorry,
and I'm pretty happy with that one.
We now go to Sprint Winner, where I get to go first.
and I'm going for Max Vestappen.
And I will change.
There you go.
Well, yeah, you can do your change in a second.
Of course, I was going to go for sprint pole and sprint winner Max Vastappen,
but I'm still happy for that.
And I think, to be honest with you,
if Max is on the front row of the grid,
not even on pole position for the sprint,
he is flying down the inside at term one,
no matter how close to the inside Lando gets.
Of course, if you don't remember last year,
of course, we were talking about how,
Orlando did not close the inside enough.
And Max will find a way, I think.
So sprint winner, MV.
Sprint winner, I will change from Max Verstappen
and go for Oscar Piastri.
He's, yeah, maybe not the greatest form at the moment,
but he has been good at these kind of circuits.
McLaren should still be quick,
even though I do think Max will be quick
and challenging them again and be there with them.
so I'll go for Oscar Piastri.
Okay, dokey.
Now we head to the main pole position.
I'm going to go for Max Verstappen.
He loves, he's been very good in qualifying this year.
That has seemed to have been, you know, McLaren have a very quick race car.
And I say they've struggled in qualifying.
They certainly haven't struggled at all.
But compared to the race, you know, it's not been their stronger.
point, you know, Max obviously getting the most polls this year up until this point.
So yeah, I'll go for the sprint pole, pole position double for Max must have to happen.
Okay. I do not need to change my pole position because I was already going to go for Lando
Norris. So I've gone for a double poll for Lando, you've gone for double pole, Max.
Do I need to really explain any more, same reasoning as the sprint poll?
I think Lando is on a good run of form at the moment.
I think you said maybe it was in a previous podcast.
He's beaten Oscar in three of the last four races.
And it just feels like the momentum slightly with Lando at the moment.
So I think it's a safer bet to go for Lando over Oscar.
But I could also see Oscar, of course, doing great performances,
as he's done many times this year.
Third position for the main race.
I am locking in.
Oscar Piestri.
I'm not seeing any Mercedes shenanigans to be messing with the top three in my opinion.
I'm definitely not seeing any Ferrari.
So yeah, I think Oscar, look, it's getting to crunch time in the main championship.
It's getting to crunch time in the predictions championship.
And I'm not doing anything stupid at this point.
Ask me in the next one.
But for now, Oscar P3.
For the, I don't know how many time in this podcast, I will change my prediction because I had Oscar Pastry P3.
three and I will change it to Max for Stappen.
Oh, there we go.
He's lost all hope immediately.
I'll go for Max.
No reason.
Because, yeah, I mean, no spoiling the top two.
But I think it's going to be between three drivers this weekend.
No off to George Russell.
And every time we write him off, he somehow wins the race.
So maybe he's going to win.
But, yeah, I see this being a papaya versus Max Verstappen weekend, but who knows?
Who knows?
We certainly don't, if you have a hard point of Talley over the entire year.
Second place then, Mr. Bellingham.
So I now have to change mine again because I had Vastappen in P2, and I've already picked him.
So I will now change that to Oscar Piastri.
Say that with some confidence, Tommy.
Yeah, I'll go for Oscar Piastri.
Yes, I think he's going to have a good weekend.
But spoiler alert, I kind of, you know, this is where it goes bad when we share the same opinion
and the complete opposite happens.
But I do concur that I think that there's just something in the moment that feels like the momentum
is with Lando a little bit more
based on his driving
and also how
Papaya Rosa implemented.
Okay.
So, I'm going to do something very funny now.
Okay, right.
Because in second place,
I am going to go for
Max Verstappen.
So I've changed that on the fly
because I'm doing something very funny indeed.
So looking forward to seeing
what Tom
Bellingham does from here.
So yeah, second place, Max for Stappen.
We now go to first place where, of course, it is my pick first.
And I'm going for Lando Norris.
Oh, I love these rules.
I love them so much.
It was not what I was going to go for.
The way this works out as well is when you go first, you get screwed, which is really
annoying.
Hey, we switch every week.
And, you know, there's more opportunities.
for you to screw me over as well
but that's what I'm
going to do for the sake of the predictions
points for the sake of the podcast
and watch Tommy now pluck a first place
out of thin air that comes
true at the end of Sunday.
Hmm.
Well, I think it
I think it can only be one man
now.
Charlie Blair.
Oh.
Well, I went for Ferrari biggest flop.
So yeah.
I was going to go for Lando
I'll explain my reasoning the same as you.
I think that the vibe has shifted towards Lando.
I do think there's, I don't think it's like pure insane favouritism,
but I think this whole narrative even just in the media will pile pressure on the whole situation
and that it will like play on, you know, Piastri's mind and how he kind of manages that
is going to be really, really fascinating because
I think what's so exciting about this championship fight going into it
is you've almost got like the three drivers in order,
you flip them round is the form.
Like this happens on the best form at the moment,
Lando second, Oscar third,
but they're the opposite way around in the championship,
which is exactly what you want to see.
So I do think Lando is going to be really strong,
but I can't predict him.
So I will go for George Russell,
who will do less and win the race.
imagine I've forced you into something crazy
and he actually does go and win back to back races
that would be wild
and fair play you know fair play
it's a good prediction but it depends
if Mercedes can just literally turn up
and randomly be the fastest car
all right one crazy prediction Tommy
this is unbelievable
from me if it comes true of course
this is the Matt Gallagher of all leapoles
and this is this is brilliant
this is actually one of my best
think they were done. My one crazy prediction is all McLaren pit stops are under three seconds.
And I've bought receipts.
Oh no, that's fine. I'm fine with that.
Yeah. But it's actually surprising. So basically in the last eight races, they've only done this once, which is crazy.
Wow. Isn't that mad?
They've had a slow stop seven of the last eight races, sometimes twice.
And yeah, the only race that it did go well for them, they did a 1.9, a 1.9 and a 2.
So they just smashed Hungary and all the rest went wrong.
Goodness gracious.
I mean, I love how, like, confident you are with this one.
Yeah, I can't wait for the two, three second stops.
Yeah, three point out.
3.0 and I'll celebrate my watch along.
I can't wait for that.
Okay, my crazy prediction is also to do with McLaren.
and it is that Lando and Oscar have another disagreement, whatever that might be,
papyrus discussion or whatever.
So basically just stupid radio where they're asking each other what the strategies are and stuff.
We'll decipher that to my benefit, whichever way possible.
But that's my crazy prediction.
We now go to our Patreon prediction, where if you're part of the P1 Patreon,
not only do you get ad-free listening to this wonderful podcast,
but you also get to be part of the Discord, get free.
get free, not free, early, early access to P1 tickets and much, much more.
And you can be involved in this P1 Patreon stuff as well where one of us can select.
I have gone for Zingy 13.
And this is me now spreading my eggs finally at the end of the podcast to try maybe get a point.
Sprint pole does not win the sprint.
Same for the main qualifying and main race.
So pole does not win either of either the sprint and, yeah.
they have to not win both of those sessions,
which goes against literally a double pole and win for,
oh no, I went sprint pole, LN, and then, oh no, to be fair, no, I've mixed up a little bit,
but that's what I've gone for.
So they can't, so the poll sitter can't win in both of them.
Yeah, okay, nice, good one.
I've gone for Glush, Lance outscores Fernande.
Oh my God, it's a Lance, it's a Lance Fernando one again.
This is ridiculous.
Yeah, I just, just now, now Fernando's got into the lead.
I'm scared that every time he does get into the lead in the, in the, the real world championship,
which is can Fernando Alonzo beat Lance Stroll in the championship?
Yeah, something, something happens and Lance gets ahead again.
So, yeah, that's what I've gone for.
Right, it's time for the family top three.
Yes, what everyone tunes in for to hear our families.
washed predictions. It's 9-8 to the boring Bellingham still. Still leading. So I have drafted in
an absolute worldie. It's my mum. Mum has not been on the channel for a while. I am very
concerned about this. We get the double Ferrari top three. It's just stopped ringing. That's
always useful, isn't it? Yeah, Matt, don't worry, you can ring me. And it's just stopped ringing.
Let's try that again
Mum
Wow
It's not even ringing
The Spence is killing me
Let me try and let me try on WhatsApp ringer
Because that was really weird
It rang once and then went
And then she froze
She hadn't studied every driver's
Race
Oh wow
That was the quickest answer of it
I tried to ring you normally
It didn't work to use WhatsApp
I know
I tried to actually pick up
but it didn't pick up.
Phenomenal content.
Absolutely brilliant.
Right.
So you're live on the P1 podcast right now, Mum.
I'm live.
I've just been tackling an infestation of ladybirds for your listeners.
Wow.
I wonder where you're going with that.
Anyway, yeah.
Okay.
So can you please give me third place for Austin?
Third is George Russell.
George Russell is third place.
Okay.
All right.
P2.
Oscar Pastery.
Okay. And let me think who might be first place.
Max Verstappen.
Oh, no Lando.
No Lando.
Wow.
No Lando's fourth.
No, it doesn't matter.
There's no fourth in the top three.
Okay.
Wow.
Good.
So you know we're behind, right?
Anyway, okay, that's fine.
That's fine.
All right.
Okay, we've gone from Max Verstappan win.
To be fair, so did I.
So, yeah.
Thanks, Mom.
Okay.
All right, then.
Thank you.
Love you.
Bye.
Bye.
Bye.
Okay.
My dad, what is he going to call me this week?
Get your predictions in now.
Come on.
Do something crazy.
Go wild.
New name.
Hello.
Hi, Dad.
You're right.
What do you mean hello?
Hi, Freddie.
Yeah.
I'm fine.
Thank you.
Good stuff.
Right.
We've not scored many big points in a long time and the Gallagher's are far too close.
So I want a big, big, good prediction.
Don't.
Well, one told me off and we were disgusting it.
Oh, okay.
Tom, she said Tom won't be very happy because I was going to go out there a bit.
No, out there.
Yeah, yeah.
Let him cook.
Tommy, don't you dare.
P3, go for it.
P3.
Charles.
No.
Okay, P.
It's over.
It's over.
And P1.
Lewis.
Wow.
Oh, I love it.
I love it.
So he can't call me boring anymore, Matt.
The funniest thing is, Matt just rang his murmur.
And Matt's was like, this could be interesting.
And I went, we're getting a double Ferrari podium.
And you did it.
So amazing.
Thanks.
All right.
Well, you never know.
If that comes true, I think we should just win the championship, to be honest.
Yeah, well, I'm obviously predicting the McLaren's take each other out.
Oh, yeah.
Spicy.
Spicy.
And I sent you a thing about the Williams.
Yeah, don't worry.
Don't worry.
Williams,
Matt's not getting that Williams point from last time,
don't you worry?
Quite right, too.
Okay.
All right, Dad.
Okay.
That's enough from the boring Bellingham's.
Okay.
Take care.
Bye.
Oh, I love it.
Your mum was in the background as well.
Oh, that was.
Oh, no.
That was great.
Okay.
That makes things very interesting.
Ferrari, do,
Charle one round, Austin.
I'll tell you.
He did?
Yeah, he did, actually, didn't he?
Yeah.
I don't think, it's not the same car, that's for sure.
But wow, I thought my mum was definitely going to put Charle-Clau in her top three.
Yeah, I was convinced your mum was going to put both Ferraris in there.
And my dad just did the ultimate kerbal.
Your dad has gone for a Hamilton win in Austin.
That would be quite something.
That would.
Right, that is it.
Thank you, everybody, for tuning in to the P1 predictions for the Austin GP,
the United States Grand Prix, even though there's three US GPs,
but this one is the US Grand Prix.
Tommy, how excited are you for this one?
It's one of my favourite tracks on the calendar.
I am rather ready for it.
Same. I love this track. We were lucky enough to go last year doing our live show,
weren't we as well and stuff. So yeah, big, big hype. I can't believe I've got a cowboy
hand that didn't wear it for the intro. Crazy. I might have to record that.
That is devastating. Maybe for the main rest pod.
We record the YouTube intro. Or we'll just do it for a, do it for a future one for people to look
forward to, just the cowboy hat and nothing else.
Maybe if Macs wins.
And on that note, we will see you for all of the weekend's coverage.
Can't wait for it.
And yeah, go get your P1 live Delusion Tour tickets.
We'll see you soon.
Bye.
Bye.
