Hello everybody and welcome back to the P1 podcast with Matt and Tommy.
We're getting closer and closer and closer to Formula One returning at the wonderful Zandvoort circuit,
the circuit that has the most overtakes in Formula One history.
For the last time.
May you all not forget, for the last time.
But we're not talking about that today.
We're talking about that and the rest of the season because we have made some bold predictions.
You have also made some bold predictions.
So we're going to react to them.
I'm going to react to yours, Tommy.
I don't know what you've gone for.
You don't know what I've gone for.
And so, yeah, I'm excited.
The summer break is almost over.
So this kind of period of time
where we have to do other things other than react to the racing
is almost over for everybody,
and they'll be so pleased to hear it.
Good times.
Yeah, a lot of races still to go.
Still a lot of the season,
whether we're halfway through or not is yet to be decided.
But yeah, it's been a,
spicy one I think this is going to be because we've had five different winners from the last five
races so I think there's a lot of probably differing opinions of people with which way it's going to go
basically. Okay. All right. Everybody get ready. It's time for some bold predictions. And I am
going to go first. We're going to kick things off. You might not call this bold. You might call this
absolute insanity.
But I am going to go for
Fernando Alonzo
scores a podium
by the end of the year.
Insanity is the word I was thinking of, yeah.
Well, you asked me for a bold prediction.
I know, it's very bold.
Look, first and foremost, I just want to say,
I believe in...
Choo-choo-choo.
I believe.
The thing is, right,
I was thinking of what could be
like a really bold prediction
that if this came in,
I would be milking it for at least four years.
So you're going for the...
Yeah.
Because there is, I'd say a...
Right, so the scenario I have in my head for this is, one,
Aston Martin take another leap forward with their engine upgrade,
where there's been murmurs about it being on target and this sort of stuff
and seemingly what they've wanted to get from this upgrade they're going to get.
I am not saying for a second that Aston Martin are going to be in the top four.
No. I'm talking crazy race. Madrid, no grip, four drivers out of the top four teams, chaos everywhere, Fernando Alonzo in what might well be the fifth fastest car, just backs a podium. Not Strull just spawns into third at the end.
My prediction is last the whole race. No, no, no, no, we're not, not doing any of that. I know Lance did beat Fernando in the last race in Hungary.
He did. However, I think Fernando will level up.
He will go super saan the second that car becomes good.
Now, so interestingly, I nearly went for an Asa Martin prediction.
I'm just going to tell you it just so you can see if I disagree or agree with you or not.
And just so you're aware, when we come to reflecting on this, it doesn't count.
Like you get one.
No, no. Yeah.
But I know you'll be like, yeah, but I did say this.
Yeah, but it's not a point because this is a fun prediction.
This is a fun prediction.
What are you going to say?
Mine was going to be that Ashton Martin don't get a point for the rest of the season.
So basically scored less than they did at the start.
I don't believe the hype at all.
I think they're so far off still that I think even in that last race,
I think a lot of it was the fact that we were at Hungary where power doesn't matter.
They're improving the power.
That's why I've gone for...
Will they though?
You know, we'll find out.
I personally don't believe it's going to be as good as they think it will.
If they finish up,
upgrade package. I get it. I wouldn't have said this. But I'm going for the, they've cooked,
Honda have done something amazing, their engines right up there and all of a sudden
are reasonably competitive. That's where I've gone. And I've gone the opposite, which I think,
I don't think that's going to happen. But we'll see. I think it's going to be very intriguing
to see what happens because I think that for a midfield team, I think a lot of eyes are going to be
on Asson Martin and Honda basically, basically straight away, if they do indeed, which is rumoured for
them to bring it to Zandvort.
Exactly.
So, podium maybe straight out the blocks in Zandvort.
Imagine it just comes in straight away.
I would bask in the glory of that if that came in.
And I'd be like, Tommy, do you want to play that clip where you said they wouldn't even score
a point for the rest of the year?
But I'm not going to get ahead of myself because it's not happening yet.
Right, Tommy.
Over to you.
Mine is, neither Ferrari driver.
No, just to pause.
Why is it always about Ferrari with you?
You're such a beta.
No.
Such a master beta.
Wow.
PG show.
It is.
That's two words.
True.
Separate space part in between them.
This is genuinely my prediction, which is...
I just lashed out.
Neither Ferrari driver finished top three in the championship.
So I...
My thinking here is that...
I think Ferrari, unlike Asson Martin,
where obviously the prediction is that they've recently kind of gone
all their tokens near the end of the season
and they're really pushing for it.
Obviously the running joke was that Ferrari were
kind of using
a lot of tokens at the start of the season
and I think with the
increased pace of a certain
Lando Norris and McLaren
the improvement there, the fact
that Mercedes is still very strong
Max has been on a decent run
now got some good results
that I could see
them maybe not having
not hitting the height
that they did at the start of the season
and potentially kind of falling down
the order of the championship.
Wow, okay, well let's talk about the complexion
of the championship right now, then, shall we?
So Lewis Hamilton is second right now.
He is 60 points clear of Max Verstappen.
He is 41 points clear of Lando Norris.
You're telling me that Max Verstappen will beat Lewis Hamilton
come the end of the year.
I know because it's top three.
Oh, yes, of course, yeah, and George Rosson.
Sorry, yeah, but I, but yeah, there's a chance.
It's a chance. I don't think Max will get there, but I think he could potentially move up the championship order as well.
We'll finish in the top three.
In the top three with, I guess, I guess if I had to predict, would be two Max and Landau in some order.
I love it. That is, that's such a recency bias takes away if I've ever seen it.
Lando wins hungry and it's like, that's it. He's now back when the whole flavor of the season has been, we don't know whether we go to Zandvoort.
McLaren could be rubbish.
Exactly.
And that's the beauty of it, right?
And but it depends on what you believe in and clearly.
I think it's a fair bet, right?
It's a fair bet to think Lando, who's having a great season, one of his best, if not his best.
And if the car is there, then you've got to think that they'll be able to take a full advantage of that.
Do you want me to go with a stat that kind of contradicts my own evidence a little bit?
Love that.
But it's funny because I saw this today and it's absolutely crazy, right?
So in the last four races, if you basically, the championship started four races ago and we just started then.
Charlotte Clays won at all.
The championship order is in sixth, Louis Hamilton on 54 points.
Fifth, George Russell on 54 points.
Max Verstappen, fourth on 54 points.
Lando Norris, third on 55 points.
Antonelli second on 63 points.
And Charlotte Clare leading the championship on countback.
same as Antonelli with 63 points.
You're telling me we're so bad.
You've just written Ferrari off.
How dare you?
Well, I gave you some positivity as well.
But isn't that crazy in the last four races,
the top six separated by nine points, all of them?
Yeah, that's wild.
Please continue.
Why can we not have started four races ago?
Oh, my God.
that would have been so good.
Okay.
But then obviously, you know, you've given me good news,
but then you've said bad news and the fact,
well, your bad prediction is the fact that Ferrari
will not finish in the top three.
My bad belief, not bold, bad.
Bad, yeah, bad for me.
Bold for me.
Yeah, yeah, great.
Okay, let's get into some of your wonderfully bold predictions
and start with THFC 16FS.
There will be more non-Messaders
than actual Mercedes winners
for the rest of the year.
Now, that would be a banger.
That would be a bang a second half of the season if we do see that.
Or it means that Mercedes have had terrible reliability, which we have seen so far this year as well with both of their drivers.
Do I see this happening?
I don't think genuinely I don't know if it's that bold, just purely.
I mean it is bold, right?
Mercedes is the fastest car.
But I don't see this as too bold that it couldn't come true.
Because we have seen different winners now this year as you've just read out that crazy stat with the top six,
if it was four races ago.
I mean, five in the last five is two Mercedes wins and three on Mercedes wins, so.
Exactly.
So what you're telling me is actually this is not bold and the slightest.
I would disagree with this one and say that as much as I love that statistic about the fact that everyone's really close
and we're going to have the greatest championship of all time between six drivers.
I think Mercedes and Antonelli's season has maybe been.
overblown a little bit because the fact that Hungary, you know, we saw a race where he started
lower down the order, a track that Mercedes shouldn't have been suited to, still got on the
podium. Belgium won the race comfortably despite Charlotte-C getting a nicely timed BSC, it was,
wasn't it? And Silverstone, Kimi Antonelli again, kind of got screwed by a safety car and was about to
get back and probably into the lead of that race. So they're still looking very, very strong.
I think you'd be a fool to bet against Mercedes still.
You'll be a fool, says Tom Bellingham. That's a fair point. Mercedes are definitely still the
favourites. It's just whether they can get to a lot of races to the check of flag at the end. So
Let's go to another one.
P1Petry member Piper MZ Mimic X.
Max Verstappen wins a race.
I put this in just because it's funny
because it's now bold.
Is that bold now?
I was bold saying he wouldn't win a race
at the start of the season
and got absolutely like ridiculed for that.
And saying, oh my God,
it seemed absolutely crazy prediction,
but the season has gone the way
I thought it would in terms of like Red Bull
just aren't there at the moment.
He's been on a good run of four.
you know, second in the last race,
third time before that.
Silverstone, he was on for a podium
before, you know, going into the gravel.
Austria finished second and was chasing down
George Russell to win the race.
So I think there is a chance
for him to get a win still.
He's definitely, it's definitely looking more likely
in the kind of last run of races than it was
maybe at that middle part of the season where you're going,
oh my God, Red Bull are just shockingly bad, you know,
when they were finishing like eighth and stuff.
And, you know, there's still an argument for the fact that,
again, it's hard to tell when the teammates are quite far apart,
but that they're not the, you know,
probably the fourth best car of the top lot on any given day.
But then it kind of changes, doesn't it, with this season?
And depending on which track we go to and what characteristics,
are suited to each one.
And we're going to Zandvot next, which is always really good at.
Exactly.
Although Max is usually good around the majority of circuits,
and I'm not sure we can really...
Yeah, fair.
And then he...
Madrid. He's never driven that.
True.
I would say for this one, and I think it's coming in.
I think Max will win a race at some point in the second half of the year.
As you've mentioned, Tommy, he has come close a few times.
There's not that consistency with Red Bulls.
to know that they would turn up every single race,
but in the recent last few,
they've been pretty good.
So where it will come,
probably Zanvort,
that would be amazing, right?
I would love to see that.
One, because your prediction would be wrong.
Two, because he wins the final Zambort race.
And three, everyone will then start asking,
will Maxwell stop and win the World Championship from here?
And we have it again where it's like,
oh, could he possibly do it?
I think I genuinely do believe that Max will win a race
and that's not just purely so that you don't get to bask in the glory of getting that.
I will not be basking the glory.
I'll be far more happy when I get my prediction wrong.
It's like when you were saying you were watching the World Cup and with England,
but you'd bet against them so that it would be like a win-win situation.
I bet on England basically just bottling it against Argentina because you could just see it happening.
Manitry gain or England win.
So, yeah.
Anyway.
It's like insurance for disappointment.
Quite literally.
Let's get a P-1-Patry member R&B Sheep's Bowl prediction,
which is,
George Russell comes back to win the World Drivers Championship.
Okay, so he is 59 points behind Kimmy Antonelli as of right now.
It is bold.
This, as much as people might go, he was a favourite, he's in the fastest car.
From what we know, from the data set we have in front of us, this is a bold prediction.
Because there's been no sign of Kimmy Antonelli failing, any real sign of him lacking
pace anywhere we've gone.
So George,
whatever he's doing over the summer break,
quite clearly not on Toto Wolf's yacht,
because that's what Max Westappen does these days.
So they haven't really,
maybe having too many conversations, but...
And Kimmy. Just Max and Kimmy.
Yeah, yeah, just Max and Kimmy.
Just those two.
For this, I...
I was so categorically convinced
when we saw that early run
of poor form for George that he would come back
in the European season.
We have not seen that yet.
We've not seen the bounce back that I firmly believe that would come.
I don't want to write him off, though.
You only have to look to last year to know that you cannot write anyone off
this early in a season when George has shown pace.
He has won a couple of races.
It's not been every single weekend, and he has been off Kimmy Antonelli's pace,
but that's not to say he won't turn it around.
but this is definitely bold
and
I don't see him winning the
if it stays as it is
he's not going to win the driver's championship
there's no hope in hell for him
but he could turn it around
yeah weirdly can't shake the feeling
that he could do it
and maybe it's just echoes of last year
and what happened with
Lando and Oscar
and how people
I do think George has obviously
been less far
impressive than what Lando was having a much worse kind of season.
But we go back to that championship table in those last four races and think.
George has only scored nine less points than Kimi Antonelli when he's having an absolutely
abysmal run.
So there's reliability definitely a factor as well in this championship and could, and that's
George with the DNF himself, of course.
But you look at a race like Silverstone where George was really poor and Antonelli
was so much quicker and more comfortable,
yet Kimi Antonoli scored nothing,
and George somehow got a second place,
and it's those races that can sway this championship,
and I think George should be a lot further behind
than he is already,
you know, with how he's been driving
and how the car's been for him.
He's obviously not happy.
It always seems to be something wrong,
his side of the garage with his car
and how uncomfortable he's been since that kind of start of the season.
I think it really is going to be a sign of when we get back to the summer break.
He needs to start having those races like Austria and Canada again
where he can at least compete with Kimmy.
And even if he's maybe not outright quicker like we saw last year,
like maybe like Australia at the start of the season,
he just needs to be challenging because at the moment,
he's he's he's it's not only the fact that he's not challenging Kimmy it's the problem is as he's
kind of dropped off in his form and being half a second behind Kimmy that now puts kind of in that
gap between him and his teammate Lewis Hamilton Lando Norris charlerc Maksa Stappen all
these people say um he could definitely still win the championship I think it'd be crazy to count it out
but I wonder how much of that is actual logic and just more just thinking well we saw it last year
Because at the moment, yeah, he's certainly not on very good form.
At the moment, no, I think it's fair to, you know, throw into the mix
that he has been having reliability issues with the car as well as Kimmy.
He's also had not DNFing, but very much convinced that the car's not performing the way it should,
that the power unit's not delivering the right amount of grunt for him and things like that.
So firstly, for Mercedes, you know, they need to get on top of this,
thing to make sure that after the summer break, there isn't this issue that George will be facing.
And then it's no excuses.
Right now we don't know just how much he's been hampered over the last few races because
he's been talking about it a lot.
And it's been, you know, that Mercedes and Tottenwolf have said to a degree that there have
been issues with his car.
So it's hard, right?
This is a season that I find really frustrating because of the fact that there are always
drivers having issues and things outside of their control happen.
So after the summer break, hopefully Mercedes understand more what's been going on with his car,
that we can have a level playing field from a performance level for both the Mercedes cars.
And then, yeah, he has to come out of the blocks firing in Zandvort.
There's no doubt about that for George.
Let's go to Joe Call 27's bold prediction, which is Liam Lawson podium.
Can't see it personally.
No offence to Liam Lawson.
and that is just from the fact that the cars are a lot more reliable than the start of the season.
Essentially the only podium we've had from outside those top guys, the top teams, is Pierre Gazley in a race that was totally bonkers and he almost didn't even get it then.
That relied on so much chaos.
You know, you think that we've had this conversation about Isaac Hadjar, for example, and how his season looks really good on
paper, but a lot of the time you're finishing last of those top runners.
And the last of those top, top runners is like sixth, seventh, eighth, all the time,
sometimes even, maybe a little bit higher like a, or whatever.
But, you know, for any of the midfielders to get a podium,
you basically need six of the top eight runners to have a reliability issue or a race so
bad they can't fly through the field.
And boy, do they fly through the field every week.
we've seen it with George Russell in Hungary, Belgium.
We saw it with Hadjar.
So they can get back through.
This is no offence to Liam Lawson.
It's just the fact that I can't see a race.
And it'd have to be absolutely bonkers again,
where six of the top eight runners,
just the car just breaks down or something.
That's how much we need.
Weather, let's not forget.
That's not something we've really seen this year,
but changeable conditions can always...
Late safety car and they're all on the wrong times.
Something like that.
I would be silly to say that this is a ridiculous prediction
because I went for Fernando Alonzo scoring a podium by the end of the year.
And obviously Joe Calls one is 100% more possible
because as of right now, V-Carb, have the fifth fastest car,
maybe Audi are very much on their tail at the moment in terms of performance.
But if there is going to be a midfield runner,
if you had to pick anyone, as of right now,
as of the form they've shown this year,
be Liam Lawson.
Pierre Gazley at Monaco was a very strange occurrence that only Dean Bellingham saw coming.
Whereas if you were to bet on any of the midfield runners, it would be Liam Lawson, at least
for me.
So not out of the wildest, out of our wildest imaginations for sure.
But it would require, as you say, a pretty chaotic one, changeable conditions, a lot of
DNFs, crashes, the works, basically.
then Liam Lawson might be able to to take advantage.
P1PATRI member, That Fox, Cadillac scores points.
I'm going to just straight up say no with this one.
I'm straight up.
Perez at Monaco, that was it.
That was their chance, I think, for this year.
You've got Aston Martin, who have now leapt forward with their upgrade in Hungary.
I expect them, as you know, with my prediction,
to leap even further forward when they get their engine upgrade.
They're obviously going to take big steps forward if they are bringing something
that they think is going to improve their power more than they've had so far this season.
Which means Cadillac go further back.
Will they be the slowest team now?
Will it be Williams?
We don't know.
Exactly.
It's reasonably close, depending on how Cadillac end up upgrading between now and the end of the season.
They've had quite a lot of reliability issues at the moment.
So that paired with the fact they're not actually that quick, I cannot see this happening categorically.
no I can't either. Very similar to the last question, it would need to be another Monaco.
And you do wonder when we get to the end of the season if we're going to sadly look back
if you're a Sergio Perez fan or a Cadillac fan of that race at Monaco when he was, of course, in the points
and the penalty dropped him out of it. Because Cadillac needs something like that.
You look at Nico Holkenberg, for example. He scored one points finish all year.
He's called two points, one ninth place.
And he's driving a car that's probably been sixth best, almost all the races this season.
It shows how hard it is to break into the points.
Not hard for his car to break there, is it?
We.
But we're not seeing since that first kind of rounds.
There's still a lot of unreliability, if you compare it to last year, for example,
where we were kind of used to every single runner finishing.
but but now you know
Cadillac need more than three cars
in a weekend if they're going to
even remotely score a point so
it's a really tough ask
I mean Botas is 13th came in a race of attrition in China
what a driver what a drive
and yeah the best after that
is a couple of 14th from from Perez
but as the cars get more reliable
and someone like Astor Martin take a leap up.
You know, that's another car they've got to try and beat if they don't break down.
Two cars. Give Lance Strall some credit.
A team, sorry.
Yeah.
Let's go to another one from Lesser Fan 78.
Lando wins more races and will challenge both Ferrari drivers in the championship.
Yes.
Wait, hold on. What happened to Mercedes?
What happened to Mercedes in this?
Or do they mean?
They mean, Ferrari's gone.
Yeah, they're gone.
Because the way that's been written, I like the sound of it,
where Ferrari are in the shower winning the driver's championship.
Maybe.
I took this question as the fact that, yeah, Mercedes are out of sight, maybe.
And it's a case of Canando challenge the Ferrari drivers.
The fight for third.
A bit like my prediction, I guess, from myself.
I do, I do, you know, I'm not going to discredit your, what you said.
in terms of like there's a lot of
of recency bias with my prediction as well
and this one.
What I would say,
though,
is that Lando was exceptionally strong
in SPAR as well.
And I'd love to have seen a scenario
where he didn't have a terrible,
like was on the worst strategy
and started at the back.
And that's two very different circuits
that he's been very strong.
I know that the seventh place on paper
looks very rubbish.
But he was,
he had incredible pace.
Obviously, his pace in Hungary was amazing.
and yeah that's going to be
that's going to be the toughest thing for Ferrari
is just how quick that McLaren is
particularly in the hands of Lando
who's driving really, really strongly
if they take this step up
like it looks like they have
but we could go to Netherlands
and it shift again because we've had this before
with McLaren where I think after
Japan and Miami it was like
well Ferrari in the bin now
McLaren are definitely going to be the ones
to finish second in the constructors
and be ahead of Ferrari but
then we ended up seeing Lewis Hamilton win and Charlotte Clare win.
Oh, thank you, May.
Thanks for bringing up Charlotte Clare winning.
And then Frank doing a little cheeky bark before you muted.
Let's go to another prediction.
This one from Daniel Humble 10.
Hadjar wins a race and Max doesn't.
Daniel Humble 10, yeah, otherwise known as my account.
Oh, no, come on.
Let's relax here.
As much as Hajar has been, I would say, okay.
We looked at the driver ratings.
If you haven't gone, seen that video, go and check it out.
Both of us had Hadjar with our average ratings.
We didn't put him there down in the second half of the table.
Let's put it that way.
And he's not being close to Max on a consistent basis.
Yes, he's had the occasional moment in qualifying where he has been impressive.
But in race trim, he's not anywhere near Max.
So what you would need is Rebel to be the fastest car, Max to break down and Hadjar to somehow take the win.
I just don't see it.
Like Hadjar's not beaten Verstappen at all this year on the road, has he?
No.
In terms of in a race.
No, exactly.
And this is the thing that Hadjar, that's been the kind of great debate of Hadjar's season.
And I think a lot of people will have seen our average ratings and said we're absolutely ridiculous to have him that low.
I think, you know, picking, even if we'd picked him, I wouldn't have him in my top 10 this season.
I saw a lot of people have him in the top five when we asked for their top five, which to me is
absolutely insane.
Like you look at Hedger's season and yes, on paper, fifth, fourth, six, six, fifth, six, looks really good.
But then you look at the people he's beaten in those races and it's maybe, he's pretty much
normally last of those top runners.
If not, maybe he's beaten maybe one of them, sometimes.
too. You know, we've
still yet to see
a really, really strong race from
Hajar where he beats Max
or he looks really, really impressive.
And he's still doing
a solid enough job because, you know,
I think the reason people are
rating him highly is because that bar
is so low from
what is expected of a second Red Bull driver.
But it would have to be
exactly a scenario, as you say, because
even if Red Bull were suddenly quick,
it would probably take a max DNF
because based on the form that we've seen this year,
Hadja hasn't been ahead of him,
so a tough one for that to happen.
He's not got a podium yet, of course,
which is the only top runner of those top eight teams
that hasn't got one because, of course,
he had to give the trophy back to Gazley
after the pit incident in Monaco.
No trophy this year for Hadjar.
and finally
Sombor Shuffle,
81
Kimmy doesn't win
the World Championship.
Okay.
Well,
is a...
Yeah, I guess it is bold
based on...
Which is a mad place to be
if you'd said
at the start the season
that we'd said
a bold prediction
is Kim Antonelli
not winning the world championship.
Wow, how times can change.
He is very clear of it.
obviously, in the points and in performance.
And you could have, you look at a race like Barcelona who's going to finish second,
Silverstone, who's at the very least second, probably going to win.
He's going to win. Even I'll say it.
Yeah, okay, even you can say that. Okay, perfect.
So if that's the case, his results are second, first, first, first, first, second, third,
first, third. So he doesn't have a bad rate. It's very similar to kind of Max, isn't it,
back in the day, that kind of performance. And it's going to be tough for anyone to beat him
because he's driving incredibly well. It does feel like only reliability can stop him. There's a kind of,
there's always that thing in the back of my mind, a bit like the George Russell question of like,
it's, we've seen this before with Piastri and thinking there's nothing that can stop him.
Maybe it feels a little bit different. I don't think it would.
I still think it's like an absolutely insane thing to happen.
I've seen some horrifically bad takes.
I saw one in particular that was doing the rounds online.
I don't know if you saw it.
That was like Kimmy Antonelli's season won't go down as very good
because the regulations are terrible, his teammates not performing,
and it's not going to go down as this impressive championship.
It's like he's 19 years old.
Ragebeck used to be believable, mate.
It really did.
And it's like he's, he's,
19 years old in his second season of Formula One and he's looking pretty untouchable.
Like it's still going to be, even if he walks in and wins with like four or five races to go,
it would not take away from anything of just like how incredible Kimmy Antonelli is doing this season.
So yeah, it's not over.
We're only 11 rounds in of a possibly 23 race season.
there's a long way to go, but it's hard to see where it comes from because at the moment,
yeah, like Antonelli is just driving superbly.
It's crazy to think that that is even a take that is circulating, and to say that,
because obviously the whole argument would be he's in a rocket ship.
Yeah, that's the kind of idea of it.
But you then have to look at his teammate, George, who is struggling.
Yes, we've said about his problems.
Also, he's had races where we hope he hasn't had issues in the car and he could perform.
Let's just say, for example, Kimi Antoné didn't turn up to any of the races.
George Russell would have one more win.
So it's not like George is finishing second on the road.
Second every race.
That was only in China that he finished second to Antonelli.
So that's my kind of argument is, yeah, this would be a sensational season if Antonelli wins at 19 years old.
to go on the streak of wins that he did from China to Monaco
could have easily, yeah, I mean, he would have
have podiums in every single race this year,
which George Russell's not been able to do in that other Mercedes.
So yeah, it's, I just don't believe that.
I think that's pure engagement bait that's got to be
because it's just a ridiculous take and one
that we would love to shut down and have done.
So yeah, if I was to say right now,
Kimi Antenadi has to win the world championship
something crazy has happened in the universe if he doesn't win it from here
but then also we thought that with Oscar Piastri last year
sorry Australian fans I'm really really sorry
particularly after Sanvoort when
Yeah when Lando just conked out
Of course Kimmy has a slightly bigger advantage coming into Zanvort
With that 50 point lead
I'd love to go down the romantic route of Hamilton getting his eighth
But I can't see it with Ferrari
Lando I think is too far back
when you consider how fast Kimmy and Mercedes have been.
So for me, I think Kimmy wins this one.
And Max is obviously 110 behind.
If it was 100 maybe, based on last year.
He has shown.
Yeah, there's a chance, but 110 is just too much.
Yeah, poor, poor guy, poor Tommy.
What a shame.
You have to fight Charlotte for P4 in the championship instead.
The fight for fourth, here we go.
It's going to be great.
29 points between us, Tommy.
So at least I'm winning something.
We'll be there in the watchalongs with like banners being like,
let's go P4.
Oh my gosh, Charles gonna win it.
Fourth, he's gonna win fourth.
He's gonna win it.
Do you remember in the years of like Mercedes dominance
where they would do that all the time
and they get this like ridiculous graphic
that was like you'd go into Abidabi
and there'd be a giant Sergio Perez
and a giant Carlos Science is like
the fight for eighth in the world championship
because it's like the only thing left on the line.
I like, God, come on guys.
If Characler-Clau versus Max and Shal wins
then I'll take the big graphics to be honest with you.
I'll take those small victories.
Just so that you are.
That'd be a good watch along, wouldn't it?
That'd be a great one.
Can't wait for it.
That would be our, I was going to say,
R Abidavit 2021.
God, no, hopefully not.
Hopefully not.
We never see that ever again.
Okay, on that wonderful note,
we will leave it there.
Thank you everybody for tuning in, as always.
Remember to go and get your P1 live show tickets if you haven't already.
Remember, we're not touring next year,
so it might be the last time to see us for a while.
The link will be in the description.
