Welcome, welcome to page seven, everybody.
My name is Jackie Zabrowski.
And I'm MJ.
The story of the week is that we're back, but Dolly's gone.
Here at page seven, it's all about the he says, she says, bull, what?
And I think you better quit letting it slip.
Oh, you're leaving with a failure.
It's all about that he said, she said, bull, what?
I think you better quit talking that punk.
So you better get it.
Was that for Dolly?
Yeah.
So that was going out there.
for Dolly Barton, because sometimes you get so angry about someone you love dying way before
their prime, although I don't know if that's what we're saying at the age of 80, but I feel like it is
because 80's young in this year, Lord's year of 2026, and welcome everybody and especially welcome
Natalie Jean to page 7. How are you, Natalie? Well, I didn't want to start bringing up Dolly first.
Why? We're sad.
Yes.
You know, this is why we could bring in limp biscuit to like lighten things up.
It's why we're talking about Carrie Underwood also.
This really the only reason why besides the fact that once you start thinking about break stuff, what am I not going to sing break stuff?
It was brought to my attention that last night, Carrie Underwood put on a Fred Durst-esque red cap and sang a no cursing version of the.
the song, Break Stuff. And so that's why I was singing it, because I was a little surprised.
In Dyersville, Iowa, by the way, which is like 45 minutes from my hometown at the Velocity Festival.
So I just, you know, and I also blame myself for what just happened because I asked Jackie,
could you remind me what Break Stuff sounds like because she's more of a new metal head.
And how dare you? But also, I need you to know.
She's a Biscet. Yes. Yeah. Thank you for knowing me. Thank you.
She also started this whole section with Collective Souls Shine,
which I think is very funny because I've definitely watched your husband sing
Shine before as at a karaoke song.
She also sang Papa Roach's Scars, and that's one of my favorite Papa Roach songs.
And then she sang Lincoln Parks one step closer.
And then she sang Limp Bizkets Break Stuff.
But why?
Because why not, Natalie?
Well, the theme of Velocity Festival must have been new metal.
Isn't she Maga?
Oh, I think so.
You know, I try not to assume just in the country space because I know that that's not the case, but she is like definitely MAGA.
Guys, it was at the Field of Dreams.
The Field of Dreams Field of Dreams Baseball Field at Iowa.
So she felt like, I'm sorry, I need to look at.
You know what, MJ, I'm going to say it.
Nobody has ever celebrated Field of Dreams before.
You're the first person that has ever done it,
and it is here, right here on this show,
because nobody said, if you build it,
I'm going to come all over it quite like Field of Dreams.
Thank you.
I think it's more, okay, I think it's more that she performed
at the last inauguration, and she kind of,
I don't know she's openly saying it,
but she's like always doing.
It's not a good look to perform at his inauguration.
I'll throw that out there.
But so, sorry, I just need to, so she did a,
no swears, yep, break stuff.
Yep.
But what was she saying instead?
I guess, I don't know, break, yeah, I guess it is break stuff.
It's all like, she said, bull, ha!
And I hope that she brought out a goose and squeezed it.
Bull, ah!
Guys, the, the, the website for Velocity.
Festival. The tagline is three times the energy, three times the memories, three times the
velocity. What does it mean? What does that mean? What does that mean? What does that mean?
What does that mean? Yeah, they're going really fast, you know? Shinedown and Creed.
Oh, Leonard Skinnerd was there, what's left of them at least, and they, I guess the rest of them,
they just dug up their bones and kind of clickety clack them together and just said,
Play Freebird, just keep going.
They'll never know the difference.
Nothing that you've described so far, MJ, I would put next to the word velocity.
I'm just as confused as you are.
I'm really focused on the Dyersville Field of Dreams aspect,
because when you are from Northeast Iowa, Field of Dream, you have not that many claims to fame, okay?
And Field of Dreams is a big one.
And people will walk around Dubuque and point out Kevin Costner stood there.
You know, and they filmed here.
We got to get ourselves to Dyersville because they need something to be dying for, and it is not field of dreams.
Is it the lack of, like, moisture for corn?
I'm going to guess they have other things to be upset about by now, right?
The lack of moisture for corn.
Are you talking about global warming?
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Meaning more, yes, global warming.
Oh, they're wet for corn in the band.
Don't worry.
Obviously.
Look at the lineup.
I mean, when I think Creed, I think moving really fast, you know?
I'm getting the vibe that this is a like overperformative Americana thing, which is usually
translating into conservative slop.
That's what it sounds like to me a little bit.
Yeah, I think that that's fair.
I'm scanning through the frequently asked questions.
And unfortunately, not one of them is it, what is this?
Why is it happening?
Why?
Please don't do this anymore.
Why are we here?
Yeah.
No, it's more like, is it ADA accessible, which is a great question.
Sure, that is important.
But, yeah, so I've got more questions than I have answers, despite this being on my home turf.
I'm surprised that Carrie Underwood has even invited, frankly.
I wouldn't put her in the new metal category.
It sounds like she was surprised, and she felt like she needed to change herself to fit in.
That more aligns with, I bet you this is like a,
I'm not gonna say right wing, like, funded thing,
but it sounds like maybe not a lot of people
are willing to do it.
I don't know, I'm just taking guesses.
Yeah, well, take up that velocity
to get all the way to Dyersville
so that you could watch Gary Underwood
perform scars by Papa Roach.
I just love the idea of doing break stuff
with child lyrics
because it's a very violent song.
Does it really matter if you're saying the word shit or not?
No, no, I don't think it changes it.
I think it's all still very angry.
I like it still, though.
It is a, it's a concert for adults, though, right?
MJ, like this is not a, right?
It's not like, oh, it's a 10 a.m.
Take your babies to the field of dreams, feel.
I wish that that was the first frequently asked question.
Is this for adults?
For adults?
Babies.
Well, one of the questions is, is there a nursing area, which is, again, a great question.
You're asking great questions.
Sure.
I got to bring my infant to this.
I mean, it's a baseball field.
It's got, it's probably,
probably bring your own lawn chair.
At least that's back when I lived in Northeast Iowa,
and there was concerts like this.
It was mostly a bring your own launcher situation.
There's got a.
I think if you're at the field of dreams,
I'm pretty sure their dream is for you to milk yourself outside.
I don't think they want to see it.
The field of creams is rough.
Oh my God, Natalie, please.
Obviously, it's the field of cream.
Thank you so much for bringing it there.
Tailgating is not permitted.
Ages.
Ages.
This is an all ages event.
Thank God.
Thank God.
I mean, I think that the crowd would have gone too wild at the field of dreams.
MJ, have you said you've seen concerts there a bunch?
I haven't.
I have been to the field of dreams as a as a tourist.
As a tourist.
It is a high-profile tourist attract.
in the area. They are a Kastniak. I don't know if you know this, Natalie, but they'll do anything for Kossner.
Listen, people who currently live in Northeast Iowa don't come at me for saying that you have more to
offer. I haven't lived in Northeast Iowa since 2004. And do you have more to offer? I know there's more to
offer in Northeast Iowa now.
But when I was there, the big thing we had was Field of Dreams.
And so, yes, you go there.
You go there on field trips.
You go there in the summer.
If somebody's visiting from out of town, it's just where you go.
I didn't know that there is concerts there.
That's fun.
I would go to a concert.
Not that concert, but I go to some concerts there.
That vibe, I saw it.
The Dubuque County Fairgrounds, I saw hoodie and the blowfish.
I saw blues traveler.
Whoa.
You know, like we see, you know, it's a three dog night.
Nothing has happened there since 1980.
there's still a rep in field of dreams.
I mean, it's not a bad movie.
And also, I'm not going though if James Earl Jones isn't there.
He's there, right?
Every time he just takes out there.
Obviously, yeah, as Mufasa.
And we don't know why the crossover.
We're like, I didn't know that this is why it's like,
we wanted to make sure you didn't die.
And he's like, I'm a person.
I'm not a tiger.
And you're like, that's not a tiger.
That's a lion.
That was ever a tiger.
I don't think he was ever a tiger.
So get that out of your head.
Okay.
other small town people, there must be versions of this
where some movie that is not important to everyone else,
Natalie, the quiet man.
Sorry, MJ, sorry.
The quiet man.
I'm sorry, not to immediately stop you, MJ.
We were in Kong, Ireland, okay?
We were in the middle of...
Stunning.
Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.
And we are tooling around
because this was the town
where this movie,
The Quiet Man, was shot.
Now, here's a thing.
No one has thought about the Quiet Man
ever since.
Except your mom.
Except for my mother,
who just was like,
The Quiet Man, the Quiet Man.
And everything, there were, like,
there were actual, like,
statues for the Quiet Man.
There were plaques for the Quiet Man.
Everything was, in fact, all the pictures we took,
we all went,
in all of our pictures.
for the quiet man.
The quiet man.
What's the quiet man?
You've never heard of it, you see?
I was going to say, do I remember this movie?
1952's The Quiet Man.
I'm sorry.
After accidentally killing an opponent in the ring,
boxer Sean Thornton leaves America
and returns to his native Ireland,
hoping to buy his family's homestead and live in peace.
In doing so, he runs a foul of Will Denner.
Who long coveted the property.
Spitefully, Will objects when he,
his fiery sister, Mary Kate.
Uh-oh, is she 18?
Begins a romance with Sean, I hope she's 18,
and refuses to hand over her dowry.
Mary Kate refuses to consummate the marriage
until Sean retrieves the money.
This is the movie.
John Wayne.
It's John Wayne.
And did we take a picture where did our tour guide
make Jeff hold me the way
John Wayne held Mary.
The tour guide made us do it.
So it was like the quiet man.
I'm terrified gripping onto Jeff.
Just like, I like this.
At least he didn't command him to do that to your mom.
Very true.
I will say he looked very, very scared when Jeff made the joke that he was going to do it to our tour guide.
And our very Irish tour guide was like, no, no, please don't.
Oh, please don't.
And he wasn't really going to do it.
You know, he was just playing with you.
We really had, MJ, not to bring it into this, Natalie and I and our family had like the most magical Irish trip to ever exist.
Yes. And now you, now you are, we'll finally watch Dairy Girls.
Yes.
That's what I'm most excited about.
Genuine, but I meant now you'll finally watch Quiet Man.
You've been thinking about it.
I've been waiting, waiting for you to watch it.
I love old movies, but I pass on John Wayne.
But I do want to hear.
Yeah, I mean, I feel like it.
Is he MAGA?
Is the, is the original MAGA?
Yeah, he's the one of serious.
A war propagandist, but I digress.
I do want to hear about your trip to the motherland of Ireland.
Thank you.
And also you went to England.
London?
Yes, we went to London.
None of that was a British accent.
No, no, because we're not doing the British accent here.
Not after everything we learned in Ireland, okay?
Yeah, yeah, we barely speak of it.
Maybe we learned a couple of things.
really is, I am going to say, very sad, I guess, that I just didn't know. I mean, obviously,
I knew the troubles. I knew like the big, the big, the big points, but I never really learned
about it. And then we learned a lot about it. And I will say, man, no wonder they're all fired up.
I'm fired up too. I'm fired up and I'm not even, it was fascinating, though, how much conversation
was more of like your lineage
rather than your occupation.
And I found that fascinating
because so many people wanted to know
like what your ties were to Ireland
over why are you here?
Why are you at this castle?
You know, asking these questions
when we all are dressed in leopard print
and neon and you know, we are
the most American family to ever exist.
Yeah, it's definitely very much like a caste system
unfortunately. But that is like
like I know that from my background on my my dad's side they do trace all the way back to a castle.
Whoa, we got to go find it. Yeah, it was somewhere probably not cool. You know, like it's a
all of Ireland is cool. But I will say my, my biological last name in the old language before
they changed it coming to America is Irvine. So Travis might be my relative. Wow. I thought you
were about to tell me that you were related to Enya.
And if you waited this long in our friendship to tell me that you were related to
Enya, I'd be really, really upset.
And if you are going to have to wait until the end of this ad to find out if I'm related
to Enya, the answer is no.
No. So are you?
No, no, I'm not.
No, no, not at all, not whatsoever.
And no one's ever asking if I am.
But I do love Enya.
Yeah.
Thank you.
And you guys just had a blast.
Did you just take a, just just be a.
loud American tourists all across the,
you know, the islands.
We did falconry.
Oh yeah.
Like we, it was crazy.
We walked with Irish wolfhounds.
Yeah.
We had such magical experiences.
We watched this like sheep hurting demonstration and it was just us.
We had all of these like, it was such an amazing experience.
Also, I will say, we went with our mother who was in her 70s and it was the first.
time she had been overseas since she was a teenager and also being like seeing it through her
eyes was so fat like fabulous because you could just see her whole world open up oh yeah no it's
great she did a great job i'm sorry i'm distracted i just noticed there's blood coming out of my um sock
and just so in case anybody's you gooshen over there yeah i'm bleeding because of the fields of
creams uh it's from dance class oh but there's blood on my
Talk.
Who are you, Julia Stiles?
Oh, oh my God, are we going to talk about it?
Are we going to talk about it?
Do you think she's bleeding all over her feet?
Yeah, by now.
Probably.
Right?
They're dancing with the stars cast has been announced.
And I have to say, I found it to be a bit of a snooze fest aside from her.
I think, though, if you think about it genuinely, I think it's usually a fairly, like, a good amount of population
of snooze fest until you start choosing.
like, and still you start championing them.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, of course I'll care.
But, like, I mean, Giata, I think, is what's the biggest draw for me after Julia
Stiles?
But, yeah, also, I'm not a Grey's Anatomy head.
So maybe people are excited about Harry Shum.
Harry Schum.
I think people are very excited about it.
There also, there's a lot of conversation because of the Jenna Dewan controversy,
controversy, but is it a controversy, of the fact that Jenna Dewan has so much.
background in step-up movies.
Oh, oh, oh.
She has so much of a background in dancing.
But then people have said a similar thing to Julia Stiles because Julia Stiles, I believe, went to Juilliard.
Yeah, she doesn't have a dance background.
It is, it is, you know, right?
Because Julia Stiles doesn't have a dance background, right?
No.
I mean, one of the most pop, like famously in Save the Last Dance has some of the absolute worst body double shifting.
because she just doesn't have,
and it's not probably not her fault.
They probably just didn't have any budget
to, like, the way that center stage
really does good body doubles.
You can tell when Julia Stiles
pops in in those like fast moments
because she doesn't have any dance technique.
Also, she didn't go to Juilliard.
That's so weird because we're so sad.
We're so sad.
And when we did 10 things I hate about you,
everyone was like, you dumbesses,
she has a dance background from Juilliard,
but I think they must have been thinking
of her character from the West.
She went to Columbia University for English.
literature. She did not go to
Juilliard for dance. But also
to be fair, to not only
to support the people that were wrong that were yelling
at us, Ezra had
said, like, there was this whole thing
online because it was like, oh,
when your partner went to Juilliard
and like they had posted
this video and then she came out
to be like, I didn't go to Juilliard, wait a second,
I didn't go to Juilliard, I went to Columbia.
So
we, so that is not
the case and she was not
dancing because, I mean, she at least was
dancing in the way that all of us would dance, which would be like this.
Yeah, it was kind of like that, yes.
And you have to have this terrified stare into the camera as you do it.
Oh, God.
Yeah, we traffic Jackie as a dancer.
She doesn't want to do it, but she asked you for money.
No one wants to traffic me.
They keep saying stop.
This is a stoplight.
Fully cloth dancing, by the way.
It's not new.
We make her dance fully close.
Oh yeah. No, they're begging to put more clothes on. They're just like another hat, another broach or something, please. Natalie, what was your favorite part about our family being overseas?
I just think people were constantly shocked by volume, you know? I imagine. Yeah. Because that's like the number one thing. Everyone's like, oh, really Americans, you got to watch your volume when you're overseas. And man, we would watch our volume.
and we would watch it as it would drift through every space we would be.
And it wasn't intentional.
I, you know, I, I, we would try to be, we tried.
We'd be like, eh, yeah, and we would do the pat of like, get a little loud.
And we'd like, oh, yes, we're getting.
And then all of us, though, we're just so, we like to talk to each other.
We like joking around with each other.
We were just having a blast.
It also is just so hard to tell with the politeness of, I found Irish people very funny.
very quick and witty.
So they didn't seem to mind it,
but it's hard to tell in, you know, in London,
whether or not they're charmed or they're just like,
or they're just like,
shut the fuck off.
Just get away.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
No, if there's one thing I learned from the crown,
it's that the British keep their emotions
quite close to the vest.
I also learned that from Harry's long memoir.
They don't express their emotions.
I gotta say, like, I love London very much.
I've been there a few times. I love it. I want to go back a million more times.
No offense. I'm sorry Dublin. If anyone from Dublin is listening, I can do without it again probably. I've been there a couple times and I'm gone.
How dare you say that the scroats might be paying attention, Natalie, because MJ, we learned about a little problem that Ireland is having called the little scumbags. And we did, at first we thought that this was something that like, oh, this is just what the locals are saying is we literally.
heard on the nightly news
the little scumbags also
known as the scroats on the streets
because they call them the scroats
because these... Well the zoomers
call them the scroats. Yes.
And so they even referred to them as
scrotes on the nightly news
and it is these just
roving bands of
scary 13,
14 year old boys
that broccoli hair clumped
together. You say that MJ
but they beat a woman to death
a couple weeks ago.
I don't like that.
Mostly they're very just mean.
They're very chirpy.
They chirp, you know?
They kind of conglomerate where tourists go, which I get, I was a little shithead,
but they get really aggressive to tourists and like say horrible things.
And then they all like laugh.
And it's like when there's a bunch of them, I felt very much like regressed to middle
school when I was walking through where I was just like, oh, oh.
Well, because Henry and Natalie were walking and someone.
yelled at her, a scroat yelled at Henry,
only with him for the money.
Only with her for the money.
Only with her for the money?
Wait, only with her for the money or only with him for the money?
She's only with him for the money.
Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, no, no.
That obviously, Natalie's only with him for the money.
And it was.
But it was one of those where it's not, he didn't just yell it.
He followed us.
repeating it while his friends behind him were going,
yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like, trying to get a reaction.
And Henry just laughed because it's, you know,
he thinks it's funny.
I was like, I felt back literally like I was going to Science 9 class
or I was just like, shut up.
Stop.
I love my husband.
This is like how people, people always talk on the New York City subway
about how they're so afraid they're going to get made fun of by a teenager.
and I always tell them the teenagers are thinking about themselves.
They're not really going to think about you.
And if they drag you, it's going to be quick and they're going to keep it moving.
They're going to keep it moving.
Not the Irish teens.
Especially not when you are on a really, really tall unicycle juggling knives because we were watching.
My mom and Jeff and I were watching, we were in a big group of people, like kind of on the outside.
And we were watching this guy juggling knives and he was like telling everybody, like,
it's hard up here because, you know, this is my job.
Remember, this is my job?
and then a 14 year old
a scrote comes by
and as he's coming right in front of us
he screams,
no one gives a fuck about your job,
you tall, F slur
and we laughed and we laughed
and we, it's like, it's such a mean thing to say
loudly at someone while they're trying to perform
and we just laughed and we like, that's a thing.
You can't laugh at them, your chirping is funny.
I know, but the church is,
It's funny.
No, it's unfortunately.
I mean, the Irish are very funny.
And I know I actually, we do, I know we have Irish listeners.
Guys, email us to send your thoughts because I know that.
Please, I want to move there.
Will you take me in?
And if you're, and if you're, somebody who lives in Dublin, please correct me.
Tell me where we should go.
I loved Ireland so much.
I just, I don't know what it.
Dublin just wasn't for me.
I also feel like, too, we weren't in Dublin to like part.
with our friends.
We were there with our mom.
And so I think it was the kind of thing of like
when you're hearing like how
hammered everybody is, but everybody's like singing
starting at like 7 p.m.
Like that's great, but it is a little like,
you know, everybody's singing at 7 p.m.
All right.
And speaking of singing, were you guys in Ireland
when you found out about the passing of Dolly?
Oh my God.
Speaking of yes.
By the way, that was when we were in Dublin
and the young, the youth there were devastated.
They were all like playing dolly.
They were wearing dolly stuff.
And Henry randomly had a sort of like half-jokey dolly shirt with him that said something different under it.
Like Barbara.
He wears those like ironic shirts.
But it was a dolly.
He makes his jokes.
He makes his little jokes.
But he had a picture.
But the scrots didn't like that, you know.
The scrots didn't, you know, they didn't notice his shirt.
The nice zoomers who were working in all of the shops, like we're all very happy that he was wearing.
and they were all, it was really nice.
Like, there were so many people, like, mourning her.
It was crazy.
It was like, right, we found out at dinner.
And then we were walking afterwards,
and we were walking to go get ice cream
and the place that we happened to be going for ice cream,
they were just blasting Dolly out of, like, the doors were open.
They were all just, like, singing, Dolly.
So we came in.
They found out we were American.
They were so excited that we were American.
And they're like, Dolly, we're so sorry.
We're all hugging.
Like, it was just.
It ended up being like, I just didn't expect to be, like, cradled by a bunch of Dublin zoomers after Dolly passed.
But isn't that just like Dolly to be bringing people together regardless of anything, of the fact that we were in a completely different place?
And, like, I really didn't expect that much of a celebration of her in another city, in another country.
in another country.
I saw a post that was like,
it was a screenshot of like Trump mourning her death
and Zoran mourning her death.
And the post was like,
this is the only time this will ever happen.
No?
Could not be more different people who were,
you know, him, whatever.
But like she really does have an incredible,
like for having really good politics,
for being absolutely unambiguous
about her support of LGBTQ people.
and like so like consistent i mean yeah there was like i don't think she spoke on every political issue
but like she was so consistently at like on the right side of things and had such broad
transcendental appeal beyond politics it really like there is nothing like that now you know and i
actually feel like it's better almost in a way that she wasn't speaking out on every topic that
comes up online because I think her
ultimate goodness
was what radiated
from her and what people were drawn to
and if she like made talking point
like we all want to make sure we make our point for
everything I actually think it would have taken
away from like the
love that how many people
could like resonate with her and that
like take away from
her goodness which is what
we all need more than literally anything
more than people like
yelling at each other online which I know we
need to do when we do and it's important but I wish that I was like her just able to like emanate so
much good giving away millions of books and you know just also just millions just yeah and and
it wasn't and things that every time she did it it wasn't like and where's my parade I need my
parade every time I donate like she that wasn't why she did it that's not I mean the fact
that so many, many, many children still just receive books up until they turn five.
Like, it's like, that's crazy.
They get a note from her when they turn out of when they get out of age of it.
I just, it is, it is crazy.
I saw videos of mothers saying, like, my children are sad that Dolly died and they're like,
how did you know?
And they're like, because she sends me books, you know?
And like, I, I've been playing Dolly nonstop and I put on nine to five, like, you know,
very shortly after she died,
and I'm sitting here getting ready
to lecture my kids
and be like,
we're going to learn about
a really important historical figure.
And they're like,
we already know this song.
And I was like,
how do you know this song?
And they were like,
trolls too.
And I was like, well, okay.
All right.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Trolls too.
Yes, of course.
Trolls too.
So, of course, then we just went deeper
into the catalog.
But I just, I love the idea
that, like, children,
independently of her music,
have a relationship with her
for her kindness and for her outreach.
And like for me,
I've always loved her greatest hits, obviously,
but like I don't know all of her discography.
I knew her and loved her more as just a pop culture figure.
And so then now, since she died,
I've just fallen into like a,
I want to watch every clip from her variety show.
Like I just,
she's such an incredibly dynamic person.
And like the clips of her singing with her family.
And like now I'm like,
I want to know everything.
But I think that when you can be a celebrity, like just for the type of, like you said, Natalie,
just for like the type of person you are.
And then also you happen to be one of the most talented fucking singers and songwriters in the game.
You know, it's just, it has been such a meaningful experience for me to like spend this time grieving her.
And like thinking about what is possible as a public figure.
and what is possible as a person.
And like, what kind of person do you want to be in the world?
And she just fucking was the type of person
she wanted to be in the world.
Have you rewatch Steel Magnolias?
Not yet.
Like, I think every person I know has reached out to me since
because I think that a lot of people know about me
that I, that Steel Magnolias is like my top,
in my top two movies.
I would say top two movies.
And that's crazy because there's not a lot.
of movies on that top two list.
And it is just, I love
The other one is trolls too, I assume.
Obviously, I mean, it was
my entrance to Dolly, so I
have to give trolls to the
laurels when they deserve them.
And yeah, so it's trolls too
and then steal Magnolias and it really, I don't know
which one I cry two more.
One because why was
it made? And the other one
because, man, there's just trolls
in it. Come on.
Come on. Jackie, you
said you did rewatch 9 to 5 this week.
Oh yeah. And I hadn't seen that in a very long time.
And I'm going to throw it out there.
We haven't learned or changed much.
Just saying it really is so crazy to think that I remember watching 9 to 5 in
like college just being like, oh, these old antiquated movies.
And also, to be fair, you know, when I was in college, I hadn't been in the like workforce
force yet. And I hadn't recognized how little had actually changed. And it is really, really nuts.
How really not a crazy amount has changed. And the one thing, the factoid I will bring from this that
makes me smile, smile, smile, well, two factoids. I heard that Lily Tomlin said that on their
first day of shooting, Dolly Parton showed up knowing every word of the script because she thought that
she was supposed to memorize the whole script before she showed up,
which I think is adorable.
But also,
she came up with the idea to 9 to 5 on her nails.
Jane Fonda keeps retelling this story.
And it's so,
she told this story on Democracy Now where she's like,
you know,
she's just like,
I think I have it.
And then she just starts making the rhythm on her nails.
But also the nails in the song are also Dolly's nails that she added in.
So perfect.
Because she had come up with the idea on her nails.
she wanted to make sure the nails were a part of the song too.
It's crazy the way that she was like, I will, like, I will take like femininity, which especially
in her generation is like, it's obviously like less powerful.
It's, it's, you know, it's the butt of the joke.
It's like, especially like her type of femininity.
And she said in so many interviews, you know, like, I know people are laughing at me, but I'm,
I'm making the joke.
Like, I'm actually the one in control of this.
But I just, I keep reflecting.
on her and the nails is such a great example of being like,
she just made like this embrace of this sparkly loud
over the top femininity and made it so powerful at a time
that I think even like the Jane Fonda model of feminism at the time was,
I mean, Jane Fonda was very feminine, very hot,
but I feel like there was a, it was,
embracing femininity was not even always the thing
that felt like the right path.
Like sometimes it was like, we have to show, you know,
feminism might be about trying to, you know,
bring power outside of femininity.
And Dolly was just like, I will be really pretty
and very powerful at the same time, you know?
And we just learned from such, man,
especially the trifecta of Jane Fonda,
Dolly Parton, and Lily Tomlin.
My God.
And it just honestly, in watching it,
I was watching with Adam and it made me watch
watch Grace and Frankie again.
I was literally like, why am I not watching Grace and Frankie?
right now. I think I'm just going to immediately rewatch all of it. But not before we check out
our sponsor. Wow. Look at me. I feel a little bit guilty that I came dressed all buttoned up.
I really, for her, I should have had tits out sequence. I went to complete opposite direction.
That's like how in the old days people used to wear the black band on their arm to show their
morning. Everybody needs to have their tits out for like three to four weeks. I'm really disappointed in myself actually.
Yeah, I'm disappointed in you too.
Thank you.
In fact, at least have your tits out if you want to be Tim Curry.
You know what I mean?
Like if you want to give it out and you want to give it out for Tim Curry.
It is sad because here on page seven, MJ and I read over on celebrities, we listened to Tim Curry's memoir.
And it was difficult.
And I will throw it out there that I felt very differently about his passing than I did over Dolly.
passing. Not that I'm not devastated about both. I mean, it's gay 9-11, everybody. All right?
We're all experiencing this and we got through it together, you know? I was wondering why you wrote
it's gay 9-11. It's gay 9-11. It's because of Dolly Parton and Tim Curry. And so we just kept
referring to it as gay 9-11. And now, of course, there are many, many memes calling it gay 9-11 out
there. And except that Tim Curry, I think, was ready. And I think that what's so interesting
about Tim Curry as a queer icon is that he didn't want to be. He didn't. He didn't.
really, right. I think that he
he loved Rocky Horror
and he loved being a frankinferter.
He loved his work. And I think that
Rocky Horror was very, very meaningful to him
but I think that it is that movie
that launched him into like kind of queer
icon status. And I don't
it from his book, it was not
queer icon was certainly not
an identity that he
ever brought up in the book.
I don't think he embraced that. Like it's
it's hard though because so many of his
characters are so camp. Like,
He wasn't necessarily going out there to be a queer icon,
but if you're going to play Pennywise and then you're going to play all of the like, you know, what's his name?
Rooster.
Rooster and Annie.
Yes.
Yeah.
I mean, there's just so many.
Or him from Congo, which was weird.
That's so weird.
MJ, the night before Tim Curry passed, we, like, separately in all of our hotel rooms and we made the joke the next.
the next morning at breakfast.
We were all separately watching Congo
because it was the only good thing
on the hotel television.
And it was weird because me and Jeff watched it.
My mom watched it.
Henry and Natalie watch it.
Separately.
We were not speaking to each other about it.
We didn't find out about it
until the next morning at breakfast.
And then we found out Tim Curry died.
And we're just like, what did we do?
this. Maybe we released him. Because like you said, I think he was in a lot of pain and I'm really,
really sad that he's gone. But like you said, we didn't know Dolly was sick. So it was. And it seemed to
have been fast, which is like, thank God, it seemed to be that, that is a true gift for an amazing
human being that I feel that not everybody gets. And it seems that it was fast. Yeah. But also,
Oh, sorry, go ahead.
Oh, I was just, I was thinking about with Tim Curry, too, I mean, he's such a man of his generation, right?
And I think that for a man of that generation to like embrace being a queer icon is like, is even if you are frank and furter is like that is going to be a challenge.
And I was thinking about, because so many people kept messaging me like queer icon, another queer icon loss.
And it brought back a memory of a 2019 live show that we, that page seven did at the bell house.
And this was before I was like out.
somebody came up to me after the show and was like, thank you for being a queer icon. And I thought
that it was really funny because I was like, I'm a heterosexual married to a man. And I was like,
that's so kind of you. Thank you. But, and I was talking about it with Gideon after. I was like,
that's kind of funny. And he was like, maybe it's not kind of funny. Maybe you, maybe you are a
queer icon. And it made me, like, it made me long for Tim Curry to have been in a timeline where maybe
he could have embraced this aspect of himself more openly, like where somebody could say to him,
you're a queer icon. And maybe he doesn't, I mean, he didn't talk about his sexuality in the
book at all. And we don't, you know, so who knows how he felt about himself. But I at least wish
that he could have had the freedom to wonder, to play with that. What does it mean that I'm a queer
icon? What does this mean to me? I also know that he, like, obviously knew that he was a queer icon,
I think that he also knew that if he openly was being against a queer icon, that would
immediately, like he, his whole thing was, it's none of your business.
Right, right, right.
So even saying anything toward it would have, like, spurned him maybe to, like, more
conversation of people asking him about himself.
Yeah.
And also, he wasn't obviously against the idea of, like, he wasn't homophobic.
You know what I mean?
Right.
It wasn't out of the idea.
I don't hope not if the characters he'd play.
That'd be real crazy.
He's like best friends with Freddie Mercury.
You know what I mean?
It's like, no, it's like that's the opposite of who.
And like especially in the world that he worked, I think that people especially at that time period just like assume, oh, they must all be.
And then I feel like a lot of what Dolly also got to.
And she's like, I'm, you know, she openly said that she's like, I work within the queer community.
I love the queer community.
I lift them up.
but I don't feel that she identified as part of the community.
No, I don't think so.
She never notified anybody.
Maybe she did secretly, who knows?
But I do think that that's important distinction that he just said it's none of your business.
And it's much like none of your business, what country he was from in Congo.
Because the accent it was, okay?
Do not ask what accent it was.
Sort of Dracula.
Sort of.
And maybe did we all feel really bad because we thought maybe we put some kind of bad energy out there
because maybe we were all making fun of the accent.
But, you summoned this.
You summoned this by not respecting his work.
Because if there's one thing Tim Curry did,
it was take his work very seriously.
Oh, did he?
But you know who did it?
But also, rewatch Congo, that was,
that's a camp-ass movie right there.
Just said to button that up,
because that was one of those ones that was on all the time.
As a kid, and I loved that movie.
And then I didn't watch it for 25 years.
And then watched it in Ireland.
And I was like, I want to watch this.
movie again. This was fun as hell.
That's exactly right. I was like, do I need
to sit down to get a good old
Congo view in it?
Yeah. Ernie Hudson's in it.
Come on. Okay. All right. I'll be
there. Enough said. I mean,
especially, but also Ernie Hudson,
Grace and Frankie, too. And if you want to see
how good Ernie Hudson. He looks real good.
Oh, he's so hot and Grace and Frankie.
And Jane Fonda did say,
watch Grace and Frankie. If nothing else,
you said watch the last episode because Dolly is in it.
So I think you will be honoring Dolly by
and Jane Fonda, who I will die for, who needs to live forever, and Lily Tomlin by watching,
by re-watching Grace and Frankie.
Please, please.
Even though no one gets residuals anymore.
But watch it for the honor of it.
For the honor for the dignity.
And maybe watch it, I don't know, for the list.
Oh.
Who's on the list?
Me.
Jackie.
Gotta have that list.
It's wild, funny, and heartwarming dolly parton facts.
I figured this was a good time to start.
You know, a lot of this stuff is stuff that we know.
But I also really appreciate it's like people talking about times that they met her.
I really, really like this.
This, I think, really is such a microcosm of who she was.
First, we shared some experiences with people who actually met Dolly, like this one.
I met Dolly Parton twice while working at Dollywood.
The first time we were in the park before the season started and she was shooting commercials.
When we got there that day, they had turned our shop into her dressing room, so we weren't allowed in at first.
But when she found out, she let us in.
There were buffet tables set up, and she told us to help ourselves,
and that she didn't need all that food anyway.
In between takes, she talked to us about what we were doing,
where we were going to college, what we were studying, and so on.
The second time I met her was a year later before the park opened.
She was doing an interview with one of the local news stations up in the balcony of the big Emporium shop.
I was with a friend down below watching, and when it was over,
Dolly leaned over the railing and yelled,
hey, I'll remember you.
You stay right there.
She came downstairs, gave me a big hug,
and asked how I was.
That was one of the most surreal moments ever.
A flipping legend like Dolly remembered me a year later.
It's that, I feel like it is such an important thing to note
that she met this person that just worked at her theme park,
and she remembered the person a year later,
called them out so that she could talk to them.
she just really seemed to like really like people you know like that's like I'm watching all these old videos of her and the way she looks at people you know Jackie and I you always joke about how we don't touch but like and she was like Dali was like a reach out and touch someone when you laugh person but like she just seemed to really get a big kick out of everyone she was around and like that fucking zest for like loving people and really just enjoying them is like God bring that back yes and she just seemed she just seemed she just
radiated joy. I mean, like, I think that was also just, it drew people to her because she just
always was like, ha, you know, just happy to see you. Also, by the way, side note, we, I have to go to go to
I have to go never, we have to go now. We have to go. Yeah, we have to go. Yeah, me too. I've
never been. We have to go. I'll go. I'll go. I'll go. I'll go. Name the day. I'm going.
Please, I want to go so, so desperately because she, you know, we were talking about this before we
started recording a little bit, and I did just want to sprinkle a little bit in there.
It is really crazy because this is also on the list about her infertility.
It's crazy that up until 80 years old, she was still fielding questions of people asking her
why she didn't have children.
I think that that's loony tunes.
That's a crazy thing to do.
To still be, and also a person who has openly said that she struggled with infertility.
that she accepted that it wasn't in God's plan.
So how about you stop asking her?
How about we just never ask her ever again?
She was in her 70s.
You're still asking her why she didn't have children?
Yeah.
I know.
Oh, go ahead.
No, you, I don't care if she had children.
Oh, care.
She's the only part.
I never thought about it, you know?
And she also has a whole family that loves her desperately that all care.
So it's not even like, oh, I have to worry about who's going to take.
care of it. Well, you should, I feel like that's not a good reason to bring a child into the world in
the first place. Yeah. If that's the only reason you have in it, I don't know. He's going to take care of you.
Right. Yeah. I think it's one of those questions that we just societally have accepted that
women or femme people are allowed to be asked. And it's just like a very, you know, invasive question
that women just accept that they, they must, you just have to take that sort of thing. It's stupid.
And also it kind of, I think the hypocrisy part of that is that if that is, if it just makes you
uncomfortable that a woman is like not living in that, like that stereotype life and that's why you're asking,
maybe think about that for a second because if the point of it is, oh, but, you know, we want to care for
kids.
We're going to care about the future generations.
She did that.
Her entire life was dedicated to children and caring for families and caring for.
society and trying to develop a world for children to be, you know, safe in. So if that isn't
maternal instincts, like, I don't know what you think parenthood is or like what raising children
means. A hundred percent. I mean, I'll be real. I've always loved kids. I've always wanted to,
like, make the world a better place specifically for kids. I was able to do that more before I
had my own kids because I had the time, you know, and I like that was, I put all of my heart and soul and
into other people's kids, you know?
And of course I love having my own too,
but I totally love her answer that she always gives.
It's like, I'm a mother to so many children.
I love so many children.
But it's just like, I just can't imagine.
Look at this woman's body of work.
I mean, like, where's the kids?
But why no kid?
What?
And it's just such a, like, an empty, like,
did you check this off?
Did you check this off?
What about this?
Because MJ, being a parent is so,
important. We need
really good, strong, important, like
parents who care about their children, who care about raising
their own families, if that's the path that is
correct for them.
But we also need
these people to be, we need
villages more than, we need to get
away from, I'm sorry, I don't want to get on diet drive here.
Whoa, I like it, Natalie.
The idea of the nuclear family was very much a capitalistic
version of like, we need to sell
100%. We need to, we need to
go back to like raising family.
It was Nixon, yes.
Let's bump them out.
Nixon was the one who nixed universal child care because he thought it would be too
communist and that you keep the child care, keep the mothers at home, keep them out of the work.
M.J.
Keep the moms at home, keep them out of the workplace, so they're raising the kids.
You're totally right, Natalie.
It is absolutely inextricably linked with capitalism.
Yeah.
And I don't want to use the term we need to blah, blah, blah, because I'm, you know, it's not a thing that I should be dictating everybody's life.
But I think that we as a culture would benefit more.
If we helped each other.
Looked at like Dolly who went down a path of care in this fashion instead of one that was like, well, but what about this?
Because a lot of times when people do those checklist things, nobody's like asking if the kid is okay or if they are happy.
It's just the check on.
Okay, good.
Continue.
You must continue on.
You're safe now.
Yes.
You did the thing.
Good work.
Yeah.
That means you are.
a great parent because you shot one out of your hole.
But that is not what a good parent makes, but I mean, I would say no wonder people were
asking her whether or not she was going to have children because on the short-lived TV show
Dolly back in 1988 when a teenager in the crowd asked her what advice she had for teenagers
of the day.
She replied, I would say, act like it's raining every day and wear your rubbers.
Love it.
And I think that that's great and I thank you.
You're right.
Was Dolly a sitcom?
She had her own, like, I think it was a talk show that she had for a very short amount of time.
And it was, I want to now go back and try and watch everything of like those little things that she also tried to because you got to try a lot of stuff.
You got to try a lot of stuff.
You know?
And it's like, did she think that like theme park was going to be what was forever for her?
I don't know.
Like that's crazy that she got to a play.
Like I really want to do a deep dive just specifically in Dolly.
Like, where was she in her career that someone offered her a theme park?
And she's like, that is the rat idea.
Did she save a park, right?
I think it was.
I don't know.
Is that what it was?
I believe it was originally a different park.
And then it was going to shut her.
And then she took it over.
I'm just maybe making stuff up now.
I don't know.
That's okay.
Yeah.
The variety show that she had, like that's the clips that I'm obsessed with.
are like this very, very, very, very 70s-coated variety show where she would, you know,
she brought her whole family on to sing with her and she would like sing her songs in kind
of like a music video style, but also it's like live on a stage in front of an audience.
It's just a, I love 70s variety shows anyway.
Like I love that aesthetic.
But yeah, just going back and revisiting all the different, all the different projects she did.
What do we learn, Jackie?
So Natalie, you are 100% spot on.
So it began as Rebel Railroad in 1961.
It was eventually purchased by NFL Cleveland Brown's owner Art Modell,
who turned it into Gold Rush Junction.
And then Pete and Jack Herschind bought the park,
rebranded it into Silver Dollar City, Tennessee for 1970s.
Wait, there's still a Silver Dollar City.
That's the one the Duggers go to all the time.
Ew.
No, I want to go.
It's actually supposed to be an awesome-ass park.
No, Natalie, no.
No, I'm going.
Are you kidding?
I want to looky-loo and see a dugger from like I'm a tourist for them.
Ew.
I want to know which one's there.
I'm not going to be like, I love you.
I don't.
I just want to look at it.
I shouldn't say, ew.
It's not the children's fault.
It's not.
I will say some of them are bad.
There's not two.
Some of them are pretty bad.
There's two in prison right now.
Only two out of that many kids.
There are rumors of other ones.
I bet.
I bet there's some coming down the pipeline.
But I, yeah, this was just the AI overview.
But apparently 1986 there was the rebrand into Dolly.
But I do want to do a further, I think that I need to now.
Now I need to know if there's, there were multiple silver dollars.
Okay.
Now, I mean, now we are going all across the theme bar go.
And also fuck that air interview, overview.
It's probably wrong.
I know it's probably wrong, but it was at the top.
And I know that I need to shut it off, right?
But sometimes it's just up at the top.
I've been hearing that Duck, Dock Go.
And then there's another search engine that,
is supposed to be like actually like helping sustain trees that people are starting to go to that don't force the AI overviews anymore.
What's that one?
Is it called trees if you please?
I wish.
It's a different word that I can't remember.
You should use it.
But search engine, we would have remembered its name if that was its name.
I know.
I do think that would have been a better name.
So and they're out there helping.
But you know, Dolly is out there helping us in our dreams now.
I think that I feel very bad
You know what I'm gonna say it
I think this all coincides
And I feel that it was happenstance
But this is all coming out with
Miley's new song that just dropped
The kids don't dance and I love it
And she has now dropped
The Cyrus from her name
She is only Miley now
Love this, love this for her
I know that this has nothing to do
With the passing of Dolly
But in my brain it was just like
oh it's just it's the spirit of dolly that's giving her it's like yeah leave behind billy ray leave him in the
fucking dust so he can go kiss that son kisser that he shouldn't be kissing in the first place sun kisser
elizabeth hurley she kisses her son yes yes yes yes yes yeah yeah yeah s o n kiss her yeah that was a whole
side story that i hadn't heard that she she was they're dating now Elizabeth Hurley and
fucking Billy Ray Sidewood. They've been together for a minute.
For like up to two years,
I think. He was married to the child, right? He's married to the child?
The child. I don't know.
From Ghostbusters 2.
Grovo? No, no.
Not the, not the, sorry, now I just had a weird side.
Oh, yeah.
That one of those twins died who played Oscar.
Oh, God. Oh, Natalie.
Listen.
What is this a sad list?
Wait, but that's crazy, but yes, that, um, the new Miley's,
song I love in the video's foyer.
It's great.
It really, really is.
And I, uh, because the whole album hasn't dropped yet.
It was just that single, I think so.
And I'm very excited.
I'm very excited for this Miley era too.
I am so here for it because you know I love Miley.
Yeah, Miley is so fucking gifted and, um, watching her and Dali perform together and knowing
the influence that Dali had on her.
And yeah, her, her shedding the skin of Cyrus.
I'm just, I, I just, I just, I want her.
to enter, I believe that Miley is like going to be an artist that like grows with us and like,
you know, just keeps getting better and better.
And I'm really, you're sure.
So the Cyrus never sheds its skin, but we do.
And another side positive in the Cyrus world story is that Lil Nas has come back and he says
that he's clean.
He went to rehab.
Yes.
He seemed like he's doing much better.
And then I love him.
When he sang Jolene and then Dolly Parton came.
out and was just like, I haven't had the opportunity to meet this nice young man yet,
but I certainly love the version he's dude.
His Jolene is great.
Miley's Jolene is great.
I've been listening to Beyonce's and I have, well, I have feelings about it because it's not
vulnerable.
You know, it's like it's powerful.
It's powerful though.
Yes.
I don't think she's right for it.
That's the thing.
And Dolly, I didn't realize that Dali had asked her.
Dolly was like, I want Beyonce to do Jolene the way that like Whitney took,
I will always love you and made it her own.
and so Dolly was like, I can't wait to see what Beyonce does with it.
And I loved it when it came out.
But now that I've been listening to Dolly Parton obsessively and I revisit Beyonce's,
I'm like, this is such an interesting thing to take a song that is about pleading with somebody
in desperation and make it like a disc track.
Like it's an interesting choice.
And I love Beyonce, but I, it is not my favorite Jolene cover.
But I love Lil Nas X's cover.
Side note also with the Dali Ka duo's D.
version of please please please
that she does with Sabrina Carpenter
with Sabrina Carpenter
wonderful that was so good too
and in dolly fashion there's no
swears in it took the swears out of it
just like break shit but at the same time
I was just about to say it all comes
full circle because I feel like
that I'm beyond fine with
it's charming
for those that are like kind of forget
that like the Sabrina Carpenter song
please please me they sing
the word motherfucker is in the
chorus and Dolly said, I'd love to sing on this with you if you change the word
motherfucker.
And it, but even the way they'd change it, like the other soul.
And it like, it still works.
Like the other girls.
Yeah.
No.
And it changes it in this really beautiful, it's a different syncopation and it like works
perfectly in it.
It's really so good.
And do you remember, like, there's like, they're like talking to, Dali and Sabrina are
talking to each other.
And Dolly goes, oh, you're going to be as old as me one day.
And Sabrina goes, I know, I can.
I can't wait.
I can't wait.
I love them.
Jackie is the list over.
Yeah, I guess.
Okay, well, that's great because of all my tears have made me, I think I'm going,
wet?
My eyes are so full tears.
Oh, that goes full circle, that the moisture ends up making them blind.
Yeah.
And dry, but yeah.
Yeah.
Blind and dry.
We can't see them or feel them.
Okay.
Because they're dry.
I am getting us to the blinds because it's been two weeks and it's like Christmas in the blinds.
I actually have three good ones and I'm so excited.
It has been the director of the new documentary that has been controlling the social media accounts of the convicted rich blood lady.
It was all to drum up interest in the documentary.
Did you watch the teaser?
Nathan.
Bro.
Nathan Fielder secretly shot a three-hour-long-long documentary of living the last days with Elizabeth Holmes before she went into prison.
Oh, wow.
What?
He moves into her home.
He lives with her.
And I think that he was trying to, like, get to the bottom of it.
It's, what?
I saw someone describe it.
as a psychopath being
documented by a sociopath.
It's just like two of the weirdest
vibes on earth together at last.
How did he manage that?
But it's also crazy, Natalie, because I,
so I'm going to say, I knew of Elizabeth Holmes,
obviously, you know, I last night watched,
it was called like, inventor Elizabeth Holmes.
It was like, let me, it was like,
before we go into this,
now I completely,
understand.
It's going to be so good.
It's going to be so good, but even just in the teaser,
so down to, like, I always had heard her voice
that, like, she had, like, the very deep voice.
And in the teaser with Nathan Fielder,
she doesn't.
Yeah, it's an affectation.
It is an affectation, but she does drop the full affectation in,
like, even just in the teaser.
But apparently, it's a three-hour-long documentary.
How did he do that?
How does he do it?
I love Nathan Fielder so much.
Does she understand who he is?
Certainly not.
I imagine she, no, I imagine she did.
She must have, like, with the amount of control
she wanted in her life, you know what I mean?
I feel like she could have, she must have known this information.
Because it's like, for, you wouldn't say yes to something like that.
Like, especially Elizabeth Holt wouldn't say yes to something like that if she didn't know.
I don't know.
I mean, as of recording, we know very little.
There's just this little teaser out.
But, you know, obviously she's very obsessed with herself.
And my guess is she only went as far as to realize that he's an incredibly popular and beloved, you know, artist.
But it's, I, Natalie, I can't wait for you to see this clip that they put out.
It is just, it's like, it's directed by the same guy.
What he can do is, like, inhuman.
It's incredible.
It's directed by the guy that did prime time as well, the new Robert Patton's saying.
movie. Which I'm excited about. I am also so excited about. So the fact that it's the same director
that he did it with Nathan Fielder. I am. Let's get into it. That was years ago though, right? She went to
jail. When did she go to jail? She went to jail, I think, in 2023. Yeah, it was 2020 or
23, I think. And yeah, so he's been working on, this is a complete secret. Like, nobody knew
about this. Obviously, she knew that it was, that the documentary was being made.
but he kept it under wraps.
And so what this blind is saying is that, you know,
because she has been tweeting or doing, you know,
having some social media posts.
And so what the blind is suggesting is that he's also behind that.
And so I just can't, I mean, I just can't wait.
Obviously he makes art that nobody, no human's brain could ever come up with.
And she is one of the most weird, confusing, you know, public figures,
how she got away with this,
how she, you know, and so I think that it's going to be absolutely thrilling.
Did you see the last season of the rehearsal that he put out Natalie with the flight,
with the plane?
No, I haven't watched it.
No.
I'm not going to say anything else because if you don't know anything else about it at this point,
I won't say anything.
But he's crazy.
And I love Nathan Fielder.
It's worth watching.
I don't want to date Nathan Fielder, but I can you imagine?
I respect what Nathan Fielder makes, regardless of maybe, how truly crazy he is, but he's very, very smart.
Does he have a family, a wife, freeing?
He has a partner, I believe.
I just feel like dating him would be like being inside a haunted house with a bunch of, like,
labyrinth movie traps.
They are, of course.
Yeah, yeah, no, I don't know.
I can't imagine what he's like interpersonal.
I have heard, I believe that it was someone that wrote into us that was talking about this.
Remember someone's good friend dated him and was like, he is as weird as, like, but not in like a gross way.
Like that is literally, he's just exactly that person.
He's an old bad.
He's an odd bird, is what the word word on the bird is that he's earned.
We just started watching that the snake one.
Monsters of God.
I got to say, this one's a lot more upsetting to me than the other ones because it's really violent.
They don't treat any of them.
They don't treat any of the lizards of the reptiles.
They don't treat them with any kind of lover or spanked.
At least with the other one, the, at least they could beat them to death.
The chips and the lions could beat you to death.
Those people had at least a weird, almost romantic love of the animals, which is creepy
in a different way, but the way that they are abusing these reptiles, I'm like, I don't know
if I can continue watching this. I'm like, bite them, get them, then now I want the reptiles to win.
Like, how do we ultimately let the, like, I let them win, you know, I'm not here to tame them.
I don't want a Komodo dragon in my bed, you know. I'm not like the other girls.
But speaking of not like the other girls, I'm moving on to blind number two.
Whoa, okay. Back in the day, there came a point in time.
where this long-running syndicated teen show
would get a nice, fat, years-long extension
or be thrown into the dust heap of history.
It was thrown into the dust heap,
but the reasons are crazy.
The head of the network was in love with a different show.
Actually, he was in love with one of the female stars
and desperately wanted to sleep with her.
The actress, who we all know knew this
and used it to her advantage.
She never actually slept with the head of the network
but gave every indication that she wanted to.
So the syndicated show was a walking,
cesspool of people sleeping with each other
and also the showrunner of the show.
You had to sleep with the showrunner if you wanted
to get screen time. So the actress
on the show spent a lot of time
in his office doing everything he wanted.
The showrunner knew the show was on the line
and offered up all his actresses to the head of the network.
The head declined because he was so enamored
with the primetime actress. Well,
it turns out that the boyfriend of our primetime actress
had met an actress on the syndicated show,
started hooking up with her.
Well, his girlfriend wasn't working
Our actress was pissed when she found out and went to the network head and promised him the best weekend of his life if he canceled the syndicated show.
He canceled it five minutes later and it never, but never did get that weekend.
Okay.
So wait, was it a big show?
Because in my head, everybody on the cast of Sabrina the Teenage Witch was having sex with each other.
You are in the right direction.
All I can think about is Dan Schneider, but I know this isn't Dan Schneider.
Not Nickelodeon.
This is a teen syndicated show a little bit earlier than Sabrina the teenage witch.
DeGrosse?
You're so close.
Ooh.
You're so close.
Jackie, this is a show I talk about a lot.
I learned everything I know about teen.
The little rascals?
A different show I talk about a lot.
And I'll talk to them like teens.
I hope they didn't want to sleep with the lead.
I don't know what's happening.
You know, probably.
They were cursed.
a teen show. We were just talking about one of the guys from the show because he made a know.
You're so close to DeGrasse. American DeGrassey. It was on at the school.
No. Yes. Wow. Yes. That's the show that was, uh, that the, the showrunner was trying to get rid of.
But then it got this extension. And then the actress who the show runner wanted to sleep with.
Was it a turtleneater? It was from a primetime show. Okay. So,
Everybody knows this show.
It's not a primetime sitcom that we talk about much,
but it was in the, like, 90s primetime sitcom.
Actress was also in a movie that you guys love.
She, a movie about the weather that you love.
Oh, Helen Hunt.
Oh, Mad About You.
Whoa.
So, aren't we talking about Mad About You?
because I wanted to lick Paul riser up and down until he wasn't rising and he was only going down.
No.
So I wanted him.
Oh, I wanted it.
I wanted all of it.
I wanted to live in that apartment.
I wanted everything about mad about him.
I wanted the dog.
I wanted everything.
So apparently, Helen Hunt's boyfriend, who is Eric Stoltz, went to Peter Engel, who was
the head of Save By the Bell and started hooking up.
Wait, so Eric Stoltz did this?
So, okay, Eric Stoltz.
Makes freaking sense.
Yeah, I worked with him.
Yeah, we don't like him, MJ.
Okay, so Eric Stoltz had met somebody,
was hooking up with somebody on Save by the Bell.
And Helen Hunt was pissed that Eric Stoltz was hooking up with somebody on Saved by the Bell,
went to the head of the network.
NBC, I guess, and
Warren Littlefield, head of NBC,
and said
I'll fuck you if you can't
so say by the bell.
What?
And he did.
I'm not saying it's true, but I am saying
this is what the blind is claiming.
Helen Hunt is responsible for
Save by the Bell the College years getting canned
because Eric Stoltz was sleeping with somebody
on Say By the Bell, the College years.
And we thank you, Helen Hunt for this service.
And for that we say, God bless you.
Are you sure wasn't canceled because it sucked?
Whoa.
It did suck.
MJ, you say it sucked.
Everything sucked after the original.
Gotcha.
But I do remember my favorite episode of that, the college years, was when they all decided to do NO.
No?
Nitro-oxide.
Oh.
I thought it's like, yeah, I'm getting a little bit of no.
I'm getting addicted to saying no.
Well, there was also that there's no hope with dope episode of the regular series.
Oh, yeah.
See, that one's great.
It's classic.
The N.O. one is like they were dressing, I guess, maybe a college trend at the time
where people were doing nitrous all the time.
I mean, yeah.
A bunch of the kids started doing it, and they were all calling it, N.
No.
It was never called N.O.
Even when you're outside of a wean concert and everybody's sucking back some NO,
nobody's calling it NO, you know?
Well, then I guess the show stopped the problem.
Wow, so thank you.
Thank you, Helen Hunt.
You stopped the nitrous problem of our youths.
It did all get, again, bumped to the wean fans
because it was the craziest part of wean
was seeing how many people were selling balloons filled with nitrous.
That is really crazy.
Yeah, yeah.
Don't do that.
It's bad for the brain.
I think, I mean, great for the wean, though.
All right, one last one.
The wean.
Bad for the brain, great for the whine.
Last blind, and this one is a quickie but a fun.
This one named A-list actress is trying to cast her vote to producers
who she wants to star opposite her husband.
She doesn't want the one who just starred in the Sex Purge movie.
Are you talking about Zendaya?
Yes.
Are you talking about Cheryl Blossom from Riverdale?
No.
No, that wasn't a purge movie.
She was in the current The Strangers.
Wait, did you say the sex?
Purge movie? That is
what the blind says, the sex
purge movie. What does that mean?
Oh, the one not...
Ew! Oh, that
stupid trailer that I made
fun of every single
time I saw it.
It's this stupid, stupid
movie called One Night
Only, where everybody
can't fuck anymore, and it's
the purge, but
for fucking. What? And it's because
nobody can fuck anymore, so they've got
the one night and it's like, oh, it's like the one night that's like, oh, it makes you where
you have to fuck, but it makes me not want to fuck. But what if you fall in love? What, when was that?
Like a month ago. Really? Yeah. Yeah. With the fucking Dua Lipa's husband in it. And yeah,
I'm only referring to him as Dua Lepa's husband from now on, whatever that guy's name is.
I'm angry about it because honestly, this is where you get brought into the situation, Natalie.
because I kept pitching to Adam that I wanted to sub in my dopey character from LPN Romanticie,
and I wanted to be one of the characters.
And I'm like, oh, gosh, I got to do what?
I got to, whoa.
It doesn't work the same without the lipstick everywhere.
I know.
And without the ears being shoved out, like it really, it doesn't work the same.
But I do, I want to do, I want to do dopeies one night only.
Okay, so to fill in the blanks here, Zendaya is trying to cast her vote to producers who she wants to play opposite her husband.
Obviously, that's Tom Holland, and the movie is the Fred Astaire biopic.
Oh, does he not want the redhead?
So Zendaya does not want the person who is in the movie One Night Only, whose name is Monica Barbaro.
Oh, I thought not Duelapah's husband.
Not Dua Lepa's husband.
Monica Barbaro.
Zendaya is anti- Monica Barbaro and that's who she-
Because you have to say it like you're a little dog
Is this can't is this person this person's Michael Barbaro?
No, okay, I just need to figure out if this is the daily person's child, but no.
No, never mind.
Michael Barbaro from the New York Times, never mind, but it's not so
Instead, Zendaya wants it to be-
A king princess was in it though.
I mean, Zendaya wants it to be somebody who we all
love, do you want me to give you a hint
or do you want me to tell you?
Wait, who she wants Tom Holland to fuck?
Instead of Margaret Quali.
I said it.
Instead of Monica Barbarra.
She wants it to,
she wants Margaret Quali to play opposite Tom Holland instead of Monica Barbera,
which that's how confident you are in your own awesomeness.
I was about to say that is a woman.
You're not going to lose him.
But Margaret Quali is Morgan.
Margotta Wally.
I mean, yeah, Marga Wally.
And now she's single, right?
Isn't she?
Yeah, especially off the marriage of what's his name from the Taylor Swift's producer.
Jack Antonoff.
Jack Antonoff.
Oh, right.
They're already Splitsky.
You know.
What are you going to do?
Young love.
Whatever.
I really like, I think that Margaret Qualley's very, very talented.
Yes, agree.
And I enjoy watching her performance.
A Fred Astaire biopic with Tom Holland and her talent.
Margaret Quallelie.
would be fucking awesome.
Is that happen?
So there is a, that's in the works already?
Yes.
Oh, he'll be great as Fred Astaire,
not just because of the umbrella performance,
but.
Does that mean market quality would be
Ginger Rogers?
Or would she be his normal life?
They were just dance partners
and not husband anyway.
I don't think she would be good as Ginger Rogers.
Yeah, they got to get somebody else's ginger.
I thought at first that you were talking about
Sadie Sink because I was like,
oh, that would make sense
because Sadie Sink was in the last Spider-Man movie
so it was like, oh, that they wouldn't want
the same one. I also in my brain was like, I bet Sadie Sink would kill Agent
Rogers, but it's like, is that just because she has red hair, Jackie? I mean, I do like
Sadie Sink, but you'd have to have a little bit of dance background to do that. I imagine,
and I don't know if Margaret Qualley does. I don't know if she does. I did learn, thanks to all
of the listeners cries. She trained as a ballet dancer. Oh, there you go. Okay, well,
those are my blinds. I can see again. I was just so excited to have something that wasn't
about Jeffrey Epstein.
I'm very happy.
We're happy.
Thank you so much.
Welcome back to the land of the seeing.
But I do know that we now must journey to the land of the eating.
Because this is coming out to you.
This Jackie Snackies is coming out to you from Nicole Kidman.
Did she send it to me with her mouth?
No.
Snacky.
Snacky.
I'm snacky.
I'm snacky.
I'm snacky.
Get it.
Come on, Natalie.
Come on.
Get these chips.
Dips.
Natalie, feel it.
I got seminar.
They say I'm a snackly, bitch.
They say I'm a snackly, bitch.
Surprisingly, this is not from Ireland.
Oh, yeah.
But this is a shout out to Nicole Kidman.
And if you're wondering why, and it's because I brought in Australia's Tim Time.
Wow.
Because I heard in an interview that she said the only thing that makes us sad about coming back to America is the lack of Tim Tam.
And I found Tim Tam while on our journeys.
And in my brain, I just got really excited because that means that we get to just be a little bit closer to Nicole Kidman's mouth.
You found them in Ireland?
Yeah.
Yeah, I found him in like a shop.
You know, those are a Marcus Park special.
Oh, really?
Didn't know it was a Marcus Park special.
Now, this was a spot that had a bunch of other, like, snackies in it.
So it wasn't like, you know, I know again, why didn't you bring something that was from Ireland?
But I just, I'm getting excited about the next practical magic coming out.
I'm really excited to see how tight and cold they give.
Because, you know, I'm very.
Oh, they're tight.
And they're tight.
They're tight.
They're cold.
I'm very excited because I found out that my husband has never seen the original practical magic.
Were my hopes dashed because I literally had a conversation yesterday with Kara?
And she was like, oh, God, don't even bring up practical magic.
I saw it for the first time a couple of years ago and it was horrible.
Well, that makes sense.
I feel like that's exactly how Kara would react to it.
She doesn't like magic.
She doesn't like.
She doesn't like nonsense.
No, she's too busy for nonsense.
And so I am going to show Jeff practical magic this week.
I'm surprised.
I feel like that would have been a gateway to falling in love with you.
Because you are very witchy.
Thank you.
And obviously, I'd want to be a Diane Weiss.
Now, hold this up for me, Natalie, so I can take a picture of you.
Because you've been a snacky girl.
Snacky.
You've been a snacky.
Snacky.
Oh, yes.
She's giving Tim.
She's giving Tam.
Uh-oh.
She's going to give it the Tim Tam.
You guys have a little bit of it.
of a practical magic hair situation going on.
Jackie Sandra Ballet.
I'll throw this out there.
Natalie's Nicole Kidman.
Do maybe Natalie and I refer to ourselves
as a little bit of the aunties
from practical magic to our niece?
Yes, we do.
But are we not living in like a big magic house
and like having midnight margaritas?
Like no, we're not doing any of that shit.
Yeah, I'm never drinking at midnight.
No, no, no.
Now, I feel like this is an easy one,
because I'm pretty sure Tim Tams are absolutely delicious.
They're wonderful.
What do you think?
Australians talk about them constantly.
Is it a chocolate?
Oh, a chocolate.
It's got like, um, it's not a wafer.
It's like, um, almost thinner than a wafer.
It's like, um, more than a wafer.
All right, let's get in it.
But I actually know of these because this is one of the things, you know, we all famously know Marcus
Parks doesn't really eat food.
So he has very specific food things that he likes and this is one of them.
a tim tam
he'll eat it for dinner
you gotta have got to get your tip
tams shipped in from Australia
oh oh these are good
so it's like a kit cat
like a thin no it's like a thick
cat yeah it's a thick cat
it's like um but it's more delicate
than a wafer it's more delicate
than a wafer but it's not like
giving the consistency
it's got a good like
thick cookie on it because at first
I thought it was going to be all frosting
but it's not it's a really
really good cookie to frosting ratio.
Yeah, they're calling it a biscuit, but it's
it doesn't taste. They're calling it a biscuit.
The texture's not like a cookie. It's interesting.
Calling it's a biscuit.
That's my calling it a biscuit face.
That sounds great. I understand
why Nicole, you know, I would crawl
on my knees for Tim Tams
and you and milk.
Oh no. Oh, this is good with milk. Yeah, it would be good with milk
and I'm talking baby girl kind of milk.
I figured.
Yeah.
And it was very funny because I saw a great interview of,
God, they've been on the PR circuit.
Let the practical magic PR into your algos.
I'm just throwing that out there.
It's fabulous.
And it was very funny because Sandra Bullock made the joke.
They offered baby girl to me, but, you know,
I got a lot of, like, dairy problems.
So they knew they were going to have to change the whole milk scene.
And it just wasn't, you know, it just wasn't for me.
So it was because of the milk.
And it was very funny the two of them joking around about it
because Nicole Kidman's such an ice queen.
Yeah.
And she's so, and then she like...
But Nicole Kidman also already has more erotic roles.
I feel like Sandra Bullock's never really done, like, an essential role.
Like, she was an eyes wide shut and all that.
Yeah.
And the blind side, she's always got an important job to do.
You know, Sandra Bullock's always on a mission.
You know, like a high stake.
She's, she's like serious Julia Roberts.
You know, she's got a job to do.
Let her do it.
She is serious, Julia Roberts.
Yes, she is because even in, yeah, even in her, like, miscongeniality days, she was like
the badass and she's like, yes, I'm sexy, but I'm also the badass.
Don't get you wrong.
She is a 11 on 10.
Are you going to watch Practical Magic 2?
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
I didn't know if that would draw you to it.
Of course.
I know that Evan Rachel Wood is openly sad because she was not involved in it.
But, girl, they were, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they,
They needed you younger.
You were just like 15 years too old for what they were doing.
I guess I'm confused on the timeline because are they saying that this movie takes place
like 10 years.
10 years in the future?
Yes.
So that's why they were like, we can't have you guys are too.
Put her in as a kid.
Put the AI on her.
I do think it's very funny.
The weird de-aging that they do to John Goodman and Majest Jemstones.
Fine with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.
They're definitely only 10 years older.
That's fine.
But the kids, I mean, she's.
I can't, Evan Rachel won, 23, no way.
Yeah, no, I also, I was like, I would also be mad if I was having Rachel one.
I'd be like, bring me back, bitches?
I saw that the quote was like, she wanted to even just come in as a cameo, nobody.
I would have, that would be like, put me in.
Let me be like the cashier or something.
Yeah, just something, just a nod.
And then I go like, uh, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Ruin every single day.
Like in the end of Huey's big adventure where he's the bellhop.
Exactly.
Exactly like that.
But MJ, you're now back.
You're now back and not on vacay.
Yes, it's your moment to shine.
I'm not in the woods anymore.
Well, you're in the flamas now.
I am swimming in snacks.
Thank you for calling it flamas.
I also think that this is called flamas,
although it's probably called flamas.
This is a Dorito product that says new look, same taste.
What did it look like before?
Mammam, ma, ma, ma, ma, ma, ma, ma, ma, ma, ma, ma.
Pini Bodge!
Yes, flammels in.
Middudge!
Middudge!
Minute bunch!
Med it much!
And also, I just want you to know, Natalie, that you should thank me that I brought in the Tim Tams
because I was really trying to do a lot of research to find out if something that seemed meat
he didn't have meat in it so that I could make you eat it.
Oh, I thought you meant you were trying to see if there's meat and Tim Tams.
Oh, yeah, no.
I was like, I tried to hide a little bit of jerky.
in between the cookies.
You son of a bitch.
So these are called Doritos Flamas.
Again, it says new look, same great taste.
It is a new look, but what did it look like before?
I've never heard of Doritos Flamas before.
I've had the dinomita.
See, I was about to be like,
what's the difference between a flama and a dinomita?
And the dinomita, because they're still making the dinomitas.
But the dinomitas are like tachis.
Yes.
This appears to be a to be a toki in the shape of a Dorito.
Because I'm seeing lime and I'm seeing.
pepper on the on the bag and that's a tocky flavor to me shapes matter of chips yeah yeah and very important
i think it's why tocky is it's very dense it's a dense crunchy corn chip and i'm not into the
tocky feel i don't like a hard dense corn chip it's just not for me now a light flaky corn chip i
could get into now what are we thinking about the light flakiness do you like that better than
adenomita these are great they taste exactly like a toky but they are
in the shape of a Dorito. I called it. I love it. Because, yeah, Ataki, it's just,
Ataki is so intense. The, the redness of it. The crudeness of it. Your mouth immediately is
irradiated with like just spicy, just immediately all over your face. And I know that
Takis are branching out, you know, Takis has like kettle chips now. So I, I think that the
the spicy chip people are running out of ideas.
I think that Taki's discovered something that everybody, that kids really love,
and now everyone else is like, how can we make a Taki?
We'll do the Dino Mita.
We'll do the flama.
It seems to me to all just be a Taki effort.
A Taki rip-off effort.
Taki steak, too, yeah.
Taki steak, too, but I, you know, Taki's steak Manhattan.
I am not upset about it.
I love it.
I will buy it again.
It's delicious.
Just imagine those flamas.
Manhattan's just going to become, it's going to run rampant with like,
instead of rats, it's just going to be talkies everywhere.
And she's like, this is what we expected.
We knew they were going to change.
Exactly.
It's Zoran's New York.
It's Mom Donnie.
He's making all the, oh, God, he's making all the...
He's turning all the rats into chips.
I don't know how to feel.
All the pigeons are cool, wretch.
I'm confused.
Is this better or worse?
Do I like it?
Mom Donnie, tell us.
He'll come buy the bag of chips for you.
Thank you.
Because he's coming around and fixing every pot of.
and everything, the grocery stores, you know what I mean?
It's things like, guys, just everything you hear,
and maybe we're just over here in L.A.
just been like, go ahead and enjoy your mom, Donnie.
We're going to have our own mom, Donnie.
Everybody's going to see.
We're going to have a mom, Donnie.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
I don't know if that's coming for L.A. any time soon,
but I sure hope so.
But, wow.

Hopefully, uh-oh, what's his name from the Hills?
He seemed great.
