Starting point is 00:00:13 Welcome to Suckin' Helping, everybody. My name is page seven. What? My name is page seven. My name is page seven. My name is page seven. Why did I name the podcast after myself? No, my name is Jackie Surbrowski.
Starting point is 00:00:28 You know, it's been 16 years. At this point, we are both. We are all page seven. Yes, we are, yes. Together. We are page seven. Hold hands, everybody. Hold hands like a lorriot.
Starting point is 00:00:43 did on her final episode of Nation's Dumbest, but I'm sorry, MJ. I even, I buried your lead. I apologize. No, it's good. I also watched Nation's Dumbest. I'm glad we can talk about it. I'm page seven also. I'm also, MJ.
Starting point is 00:00:56 No wonder you named this show page seven. It just made sense. But you guys, the story of the week may have been Channing Tatum's Finsta, but your second helpings of the week are Ed Shearin's tears and the return of dancing with the stars. And if, if Jackie has her way, fat, We're coming in hot and fat. And yes, that is what I said in our doc leading in.
Starting point is 00:01:20 I said, we're coming in hot and fat. No, I'm not talking about Jackie. I'm talking about fat bear week. Oh, man, those bears are so fat. And this is the kickoff. Really, this is, I'm sorry, take a seat, Mariah. This is really the kickoff of the beginning of the holiday season, unfortunately. It's time.
Starting point is 00:01:41 Did I just hurt everybody? Yes, I'm sorry. And I'm hurting too and you need to hurt alongside me because we are page seven. We are page seven. You should unthaw yourself. Yes. But like, no, you should crawl out of like a tree and say it's time at the beginning of Fat Beer Week. And then that ushers in because I guess we have now decided that Halloween starts September 1st. You know, so now we're already doing spooky season and everything. Oh, yes, it's time. MJ. I mean, I'm really excited over the weekend. I'm going to the Halloween spooktacular over by Bob's Bakers. I'm hopefully going to be in the next week going to Halloween horror nights as well. And hopefully I will get yelled at by a covered in blood Nikki from Obsession. And maybe my husband will get yelled at because Nikki will want to, you know, have one wish willowed him. And then they're going to like follow us around. And I don't know. And I'll be like, take him. You could have him if that's what you want.
Starting point is 00:02:38 Oh, scary. Just thinking about obsession makes me scared. Yeah, dude. Oh, yeah. The problem is man. MJ, the problem is always man. But the problem is never fat bear, all right? Because what of the fat bears ever done to you?
Starting point is 00:02:51 They're out there. They're trying to grab their last salmon before they tuck in. And I don't know if you looked at the dossier of the fat bears, MJ. But some of them lost their cubs this year. Okay? And they got to go back into that game. And when they come out, they're going to hope it was all a dream. And it wasn't.
Starting point is 00:03:11 The cops are still dead. I did look through all the photos of bears you sent me. And I got to admit that my inner monologue at the time was, is this it? It's just a bunch of pictures of wet, fat bears. This is coming from a person who reads, like, oh, Hannah, I make the cookie. And then I stab a the lady. You know what I mean? And this is coming from you, that, like, you don't look at these bears and think,
Starting point is 00:03:36 A survival. Yeah, no, I did. Honestly, I saw bears at the Bronx Zoo earlier this year. And I was... You're the zoogoer, zoogoer. I know, but I had a moment where I was like, behold, the bear and all its majesty. Like, I really just hadn't thought about many things in life.
Starting point is 00:03:54 You need to, like, revisit them as an adult. And then, or like, as a stoned person and be like, bears. Bears. You know, like, I feel like you think a lot about bears when you're a kid. You're reading nature magazines and stuff, zoo books and whatnot. And then I went, you know, 35 years without thinking about not the zoo books. Remember they come with a little poster?
Starting point is 00:04:15 Zub books, yes. And I hadn't thought about my feelings about bears except when you bring up Fat Bear Week every year. And then I saw a bear in real life and I was like, nature's most perfect creature. They're so big. But have you seen Grizzly Man, MJ? I haven't seen Grizzly Man, despite, I know we have been to talk about Verde-Hard song a lot this week. I heard so gloves the bears, but he respects the bears that he watches.
Starting point is 00:04:40 No, he's not here. That was just me. That was me, guys. And he, man, watching Grizzly Man will also, it'll teach you to respect them, MJ. And maybe you could have a little bit more respect for the bears that have to gather the salmon so that they can get plump enough so that they can go into the caves. I am learning. I'm listening and I'm learning. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:05:02 And I'm respecting. Thank you. And you know who else is listening and learning and crying and praying? It's Ed Shear. It is, I know that this is, we, all of the promoter hubbub and this, then the mealy-mouth statement that he put out, all of that happened after we recorded last week. And then he sat, and then he sat, and then he sat across applesau and cried on stage. And he cried. And he cried.
Starting point is 00:05:32 Yeah. has abandoned me. But at least my fans haven't abandoned me. But your backup band did. But what about that? What about when your backup band literally was not going to be there to support you? Your backup band, all of your opening acts. And it seems the entire nation of Ireland has done everything they can to distance themselves from Ed Shearin.
Starting point is 00:05:52 But he's like, but I had to come out here and sing shape of you for the fans. Yeah. And, you know, and he and he did. and he cried and it was certainly, you know, so I thought that this would be fun to revisit because I saw a couple of other stories come up about this because obviously there's a lot of different players in this story. There's pink. There's notorious pedophile Robert Kraft. And there's the role of like being a famous person where a lot of other people are in charge of you. And what what Sheeran was saying in his statement in his very long Instagram statement last week was like,
Starting point is 00:06:27 I love both sides, you know, of everything. Yeah, yeah. But my promoters, but the fact that McElmore said Free Palestine in a speech and then Pink got upset about it, it's my promoters that are preventing me from, you know, doing anything other than kicking. A boo-a-oh, yes. Kicking McElmore off the tour. And two stories, maybe people have seen this on their social media, this past week, but two stories came up from that that I thought were really interesting because
Starting point is 00:07:02 it's true. We know that a lot of times celebrities are not, they're a team. There's a whole team of people behind when these, you know, statements come out. And then also, you know, something you and I were talking about off Mike Jackie is like some, also, if it's your name on it, sometimes like it comes down to what, what do you want to say? And so these two stories are 1994 Green Day, fresh off Duky. God, do you, oh, yes, I'm going to talk about Green Day. Tell us, uh-oh, the second that trumpet touched your lips. You know, I know that it's not Sky.
Starting point is 00:07:36 I know Green Day's not Sky. I know everyone's screaming at me right now. I'm sorry. It's just, when MJ talks about Green Day, we know what they love it for, okay? It was Green Day was my punk to ska pipeline. I also recently showed my children the When I Come Around video. Why did I even do that? I was like, do you guys want to see a really great music video?
Starting point is 00:07:55 And I loved it as a child, but they're like, what is this? He's just walking around and singing. I don't know. But Duky, obviously, their stars rising, right? Are we talking, Duky? Oh, I didn't realize that. I thought it was going down the turtlet. And they had a huge tour coming up with a band called Pansy Division, which was an openly
Starting point is 00:08:17 gay punk band. And it was 1994. and their songs were about being gay. And so all of these promoters tell Green Day, you got to drop Pansy Division, get a different band. And of course, it's 1994, an extremely homophobic time, but their language is like, it's not appropriate for children. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:08:41 It's not family appropriate. You got to drop Pansy Division. And Green Day just said no. And they were like, we're not, we're not going to. You can drop us, but we're not going to drop them. And this went all the way up, according to my research this morning, this went all the way up to MSG. Damn. Monosodium glutamate?
Starting point is 00:09:00 What did they have to do with it? And so that was a great example of like the kind of Ed Shear and Apologist being like, what could he do? What can you do when the promoter says no? You could say no. Right. And then another great example, 30 years earlier in 1964, the Beatles were going to going to perform in Jacksonville, Florida. Oh.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Do we think Jacksonville, Florida had some problems going on in terms of civil rights in 1964? Jacksonville is still perfect to this day, MJ. How dare you call it the literal butthole of the country? Okay. I do that. I was so excited to bring in a Florida story for you. So they were going to perform at this event in Jacksonville in 1964.
Starting point is 00:09:46 and the venue had segregated seating for black audience and white audience. And the Beatles said, we're not going to play that venue. We won't do it, John. We won't do it. Shut up, Ringo. Nobody wants to know what you've got to say. I just want to be in my octopus's garden. And they were just like, no, we're not going to do it.
Starting point is 00:10:12 You can't have the Beatles unless you do. And they also have segregation. You need to choose between the Beatles and segregation. And what did they choose, MJ? They chose the Beatles. Wow. Good for them. And I'm sure they learned nothing.
Starting point is 00:10:30 I'm sure that nothing changed afterwards, but we could really hope that maybe it did. It was a fully integrated crowd. Thank you, Beatles. And this was like city policy. You know, this was a segregated city. City said, okay, we're going to integrate the crowd. And John Lennon said, we've never played to segregated audiences and we aren't going to start now.
Starting point is 00:10:52 I'd sooner lose our appearance money. Wow. And that's the thing, John Lennon, isn't it all about the money? Because Ed Shearren has lots and lots and lots of money. And if he actually wanted to stand for something, he could have just been like, bye-bye, several more million dollars. Honestly, the whole thing with Ed Shearron, I thought that he's just like, I like, I love Cherry. and I've got a family and I've got like I live small you know what I mean and I know that I'm not doing the accent right I know that I'm not and please don't I'm not trying to British him up all right it's just I know that like his whole thing is like I have a little bottom line I'm not like the other celebrities I'm not like the other famous people yeah so if you're going to live that life couldn't you lose the money and actually stand for something and actually and actually say what you think or is it because you're
Starting point is 00:11:43 you don't want to say what you think because maybe it's worse. Yeah, and this is the other thing. I was thinking about what an interesting figure, Miss Rachel is for so many reasons. But, you know, it was funny because his excuse was like, I have children in my audience. And then Miss Rachel's like, hold my beer. You know, like, I, I am the most famous toddler entertainer in the nation right now.
Starting point is 00:12:04 And I've been speaking out against genocide for years. But then I also saw a post that was interesting that Miss Rachel is like harder to gate keep because she's just kind of like her own. I think she's like, she's her own entity, right, whereas people who are assigned with these big labels and stuff have kind of bigger, they can, it's easier to kind of say like, well, it's not,
Starting point is 00:12:25 what could I do? I have all these other, I have all these other managers that are making the decisions for me, which again, I think that the Beatles and Green Day have told us that you could still stand for something. But then I thought that is an interesting thing about independent media that, Rachel can just be like, oh am I going to lose some money? No problem. I don't care because I believe in this and I believe in standing up for children. And so yeah, I think, you know, where it's an interesting timeline where Ed Shear and is crisscross applesau crying on stage. Ryan on the stage. After getting bodied by somebody who sings Hop Little Bunchies, you know. And we kind of, I mean, at this point I guess we love to see it because we'd love to see somebody calling themselves out. I mean, it really, really,
Starting point is 00:13:11 is. Talk about Mealy Mouth and not to move from one subject that's very important onto another subject that's very important, but M.J. I did find the other audio lollipop, okay? I found the other audio Lollipop that is hip-hop sounds.
Starting point is 00:13:28 That is not Mili Mouth. That is Bone Mouth. Thank you everybody for explaining bone conduction. I still have mine from last week. So we've got bone mouth time. Did you tell me that they come with, I was going to call them ear silencers, earbud things.
Starting point is 00:13:47 So I guess if you don't want to hear the music, then you put these in your ears and then you don't hear the music? I think that the reason that they come with ear, like earplugs is that I think that the bone conduction is louder if your ears are closed. Like it is echoing more in your head. That's my guess. Did you try it, though? Yeah, I had that last week when I was with you in Holden, I had put the ear plugs in.
Starting point is 00:14:16 You did put the ear plugs in and it was louder? Yeah, yeah. You do hear it more with the earplugs. Oh, you don't like the sound of it? Oh, no one likes the sound of the opening package. Shout out to my eight-year-old who I gave her the lollip and she immediately intuited what was going on and explained it very clearly, whereas I was on the show. I felt so embarrassed after being on the show with you in Holden.
Starting point is 00:14:38 And I was just like, it's magic. What do you mean? You can't hear it. Wait, do you put this whole block in your mouth? You should deep-thrown it. No, you cute, okay, you put, you put- Do you un-sheave it? Is it-
Starting point is 00:14:51 MJ, teach me how to lolly? MJ, what do I do? Which hole do I put it in? Do you see that one end of it is a lollipop? Is this one end of it is not a lollipop? Oh, that is what I lick. It has a little button on the, so, Find your licking end.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Oh, wait. And then on my licking end. Wait, I have to hit the button, too. You have to long press the button until you see some lights. I'm going to do it with you. Press your button. Long press it. Okay, I see the lights.
Starting point is 00:15:19 Okay, it's bleeping. It's bleeping. Am I hip-poping now? Am I ready for hip-hop? I think you should be ready for hip-hop. Try it. And the podcast goes silent while both of them just listen to their music and the lullipop. This is sound like hip-hoppy.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Well, the beat's not going to really be. thunderous, but, you know, it's in there. Do you, I'm just going to let you, I'm just vamping for the, for the audio crowd, but I want to let you listen to the music and enjoy it. Bone conduction, everybody. I feel like I'm going mad. Like, I feel like I understand schizophrenia. Like, it is, the calls coming from inside of the head.
Starting point is 00:16:00 And that's so weird. And everyone's like, don't you remember these from the 90s? I remember the commercials, but I don't think I ever had one. remember, didn't they spin in the 90s? Like, I feel like they were these big things that spun, and I never had one. I've never heard. I did see that some people said that these are from the 90s. I had never heard of them.
Starting point is 00:16:23 And what this made me, what this reminded, because when you guys kept saying, yes, so it vibrates my tongue, but you're saying bone conduction, but it's laying on my tongue. I know, and it feels, to me, it felt like it was activated by my spit, but I guess it's just by, activated by being inside of your mouth and the vibrations go through your bones. But you had Holden kept saying it's inside your head, it's inside your head. And I was like, but that's not, how can that be?
Starting point is 00:16:50 How can it be in my head? How do they put the tunes into the lollipop? You goddamn science bastards. But also, you're going to have to wait to find out how they do once we get back from this sponsored ad. It was making me crazy when you had to hold kept saying it's in your head because when I was pregnant, I would walk around and listen to music
Starting point is 00:17:10 in my earbuds and I would be like, the baby's listening to music with me. And then I was like, nope, the baby's not inside my brain. Like me perceiving, you know, like me perceiving, me having a thought does not mean I'm immediately sharing that. Don't the vibrations go through the uterine wall, isn't that a vibrate, right? They feel, I'm sure they feel it. And like that was what I was Because it's like vibrating as you hold it and it makes me feel like I think this is never use this while also using a vibrator at the same time. I'm going to say this now because it kind of feels like it could be. It kind of looks like a could be. It kind of vibrates in your hand like a could be.
Starting point is 00:17:46 It's very, don't put this up against you. I know you're going to want to. You're going to think that maybe it's a good idea because you're like it's vibrating. I could try it. And if I were nine, this thing would be inside of me. And I'm really glad that I'm a fully grown adult that is not putting this thing inside of me. Yeah. I mean, you know, I'm sure that you could, somebody out there could find out whether that works.
Starting point is 00:18:13 But I don't know if there's enough bones down there. I think this is how my eight-year-old explained it to me and that seemed to be confirmed by several YouTube comments. And that is as far as I got with the research. I think the bones in your face are so close to your mouth and so close to your ears that I think that that's. Dude, bite down on it and it goes through your teeth. Oh my God. I go by the teeth on inside. So it's just like the music in my teeth.
Starting point is 00:18:43 It's so cool. I'll stop sucking on this on the audio podcast that we also do. I guess I apologize to everybody for doing this to everybody. Usually I only leave this for Jackie Snackies, but I was so excited when I saw it in the store, Jeff thought I hurt myself. I was like, I was so, I couldn't believe I found the other audio lollipop. I'm so glad you did. It really is a magical mind opening experience. I feel like if you gave that to me when I, if I was like on mushrooms or something, I would, I would degenerate. I would lose my, my will to exist, I think. I'd be like, I am Lolly now. A lot of scientists out
Starting point is 00:19:25 they are telling us that it's quite explainable, but to me it's a miracle. It's a miracle. Oh, isn't it beautiful, MJ? In fact, speaking of miracles, I was trying to push the Jack and theme for Friday to be the miracle of birth night because that is a theme that we wrote down, but we are doing heaven and hell. I did mean to ask you, who do you think should be the angel and who should be the devil? When you said this yesterday, I was like, what do you mean?
Starting point is 00:19:52 Obviously, Holden is the devil. Right? But then also- You're an angel on earth, Jackie, who left personal- Your notebook, your name tags at your wedding were personalized thank you notes to everyone who attended your wedding with a thoughtful note to them.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Of course you're the angel. But then wouldn't Holden also be the world's worst angel you've ever seen in your life? Is that the, we want to, I mean, is he like a fallen angel? Is like a Lucifer? I mean, is the Lucifer situation? I don't know. what he's going to do as an angel,
Starting point is 00:20:26 but that's why I didn't know if you had a firm, like you think he should definitely be the devil. I mean, it depends on how contrarian or unexpected we want to get here. You know, I think that... These are themed nights, MJ. Do you realize we're breaking the mold over on Jack in, all right? I know. I know.
Starting point is 00:20:46 I've been enjoying your theme nights from afar. Maybe the next time I can join you guys, you can save Miracle of Birth for Then. We could watch the Miracle of Life video that we all watched in middle school. Yes, we can. I figure, you know, it's like baby story stuff. I think that, like, we're trying to,
Starting point is 00:20:59 we're trying to bend the rules of thematics here. So I guess I're right, MJ, fine. I'll be the angel that I was born to be and I'm going to be the breast angel you've ever seen in your life. Because there are a lot of songs about angels that are good. But, I mean, the music might be better if you're the devil.
Starting point is 00:21:19 I don't know. Maybe you can fight him for it. I, if you want me to fight him for it, I'll find him for it, MJ, and I'll record it and I'll put it out for everybody to enjoy. And everyone's like, yeah, deck them. Yeah, get them. But, you know, before we start screaming about beating the shit at a hold in, we need to talk about, now, MJ, I don't know what we're going to do.
Starting point is 00:21:40 We just changed our recording schedule. So we record earlier in the week. And that means we can't talk about dancing with the stars from the current week. And two points that I'm like, do. we change our recording schedule because of Dancing with the Stars because I'm so upset that it took us all week to be allowed to talk about the double episode premiere drop of Dancing with the Stars that happened last week. I feel like you forget how much dancing there is up top because there are so many
Starting point is 00:22:18 competitors and it's like every time you turn around it's like, oh my God, it's another dance. Oh my God, they're doing another dance. As someone that maybe doesn't pay as close attention in between the dancing, I found that I had to pay more attention. Yeah, I was like, are you serious two hour and a half long episodes of Dancing with the Stars? And I'm going to go ahead. I'm going to be a little bitch and I'm going to say dancing with the stars with a lot of big air quotes. Wow, big air quotes.
Starting point is 00:22:47 I know that last year we were new to Dancing with the Stars. So maybe we just were coming at it with fresh enthusiasm. I'm deistic eyes. But I, this morning, to review, I was like, okay, let me bring up the Dancing with the Stars cast list so that I can remember everybody and we can talk about our faves and everybody. And I'm like, I just spent three hours of my life dedicated to watching this damn show. And I'm looking at it. I'm like, who's that? Who's that? Who's that? This is good, MJ. You need to expand your mind of who you're including in your brain space because they're, oh, there are some social media people on there, you know.
Starting point is 00:23:22 No, there's some. And reality. So I meant to ask you, Jackie, and not to put you on the spot, I know that we could do this together, but Sierra Miller. I know she's Summer House. And I know that Summer House was everything this year.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Yes. And I think she was also Love Island, but then she danced. And then Kariana Naba goes, I'm crying to your dance because I can see your pain. And Sierra Miller hadn't said anything about her pain. And so I was like, what pain? Summerhouse pain.
Starting point is 00:23:50 Summerhouse pain. It's part of the. summer house pain and I've had so many people in my life that are like, you've got to start watching summer house. And then I looked and I was like, I can't start at the beginning of summer house. I just can't do it. And not because I'm against it, I just don't have the time. I'd love to. Believe me, please. But it's like a difficult, it was difficult enough just to swallow the five episodes of secret lives of Mormon wives this week. Okay. And we've got the real housewives of Salt Lake City. And we've got these other drops coming in. You know what I mean? It's like there's a lot going on.
Starting point is 00:24:20 And then you're going to spend three hours of the first episode of Dancing with the Stars. I mean, thank you for your service. Like, we do thank you for the content service. But also, my God, it's a lot. I'm trying to Google what happened with Sierra Miller and my most recent Google search is what happened with carrot top. But you can find that out on the new page seven dark sighted. Don't worry about that. Okay, what happened to Sierra Miller?
Starting point is 00:24:47 Let's see. Okay, first, okay, you're reading through the trauma. I, so for those that did not watch, The Trailing with the Stars, this, the reason why there were two episodes is they segregated them from male night and female night of the Stars and who was performing.
Starting point is 00:25:05 And it's so funny because I do watch this show again, like last time. And I was like, oh yeah, this show's gonna be, it's a show's gonna be great. I forgot how much I am, and then like, They're dancing. Like, I would watch multiple of the dances multiple times because I'd want to see it again.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Man, that the dance done by, uh, Mora Higgins. Oh my God. Laura Higgins. Excuse me. The Irish, the lovely Irish woman from Traders. Also from Love Island, yes. Also from Love Island, who was so betrayed by Rob Roush in last seasons of Traders and got totally like she was so humiliated.
Starting point is 00:25:45 She, what a lovely redemption for her. She was so humiliated in the final episode of Traders, and she was so nervous. And she was so nervous, too. And she was like, I can't do it. Like, she's like, it's so, you know, as a forever vet person, sometimes it's funny to me that I look at someone that is as slight as Amora Higgins is. And it's so funny because she doesn't have the stamina. Because in my head, I'm like, but you're a thin little little person.
Starting point is 00:26:13 Like, how are you not able to just like spin around? It's like, but she's not full of muscle. It's not, yeah, like she doesn't have the stamina like other people do. But that was so interesting. So I also love that her partner is Mark Ballas, who was also on the Traders with her. So they already have a relationship from the traders. And I love him. But so he was kind of like in the little package introducing her.
Starting point is 00:26:35 He was like, she's not a physical person and she doesn't have the stamina. She doesn't have the stamina. And I'm like, oh, my God. Is Morah Higgins about to be humiliated again? Like, poor Morah Higgins, I really feel like her ego is never going to recover. cover from trusting Rob Rausch and then having him betray her. And she was just kept, you know, a traitor was so sad. She just kept being like, I'm so stupid.
Starting point is 00:26:54 I'm so stupid. Like, no, Mora. And then, including her partner being like, she cannot do this in the introduction package. And then she was the absolute star of the night. Wow. Oh, I was so happy for her. You deserve this, Laura Higgins. I was also so happy for Julia Stiles.
Starting point is 00:27:13 I think that she is definitely, I keep saying, we all know Guillermo's going to be the heart of the show. But Julia Stiles right up there with him because she was very endearing in the whole like intro where she was like, and Andy Cohen said that I can't dance and I'm an approved Andy Cohen that I can dance. This is, okay,
Starting point is 00:27:31 this is so heartbreaking and I now understand that all of the people who were telling us that she went to Juilliard, I guess that's an ongoing joke because of center stage. And, or not, is it that one? Whatever. Save the last dance. Say the last dance. And so, but
Starting point is 00:27:47 And she disclosed this. Yeah, I always mix up that one. But I do know Step Up, which a bitch from that is also there. And she was also good. But she was like, I feel so self-conscious. She's the bitch from Step Up, MJ, not like one of the bitches from Step Up. The bitch from Step Up. And so Julia Stiles is like, I feel so self-conscious because I got famous because of this dancing movie.
Starting point is 00:28:09 And everyone kind of talks about me like I'm a shitty dancer as like specifically Andy Cohen and I'm really self-conscious about it. And there is, from this week, she did the Jennifer Hudson show where you know how they, like, dance through the line. Through the hall, yeah. And I do worry about her, Jackie, because everyone is kind of making fun of her still because she dance. And listen, this speaks to my heart because I am a person who wishes I could dance, who is not a dancer. And Julia Stiles dances like a person despite being in, Save the Last Dance. she dances like a person who desperately wants to dance,
Starting point is 00:28:44 who does not have it kind of pouring out of her. She's very anxious. I think her anxiety pours out first. And I feel seen, MJ, I feel validated. I'm just like, I understand because some people, because she went out there and she did her best and she did a great job. And some people on the show, like Giata, are nervous about doing a bad job. And then they go out there and just be.
Starting point is 00:29:10 because you're a little bird person, Jackie's fat bear brain, does it mean that you can go out there and just whip out the moves? Because I don't know how, I mean, I do know how Giata wasn't kicked off this episode. It's because Sarah Jane Nader was just so bad because I always... I didn't think hers was that bad. MJ, I always think that I know nothing about dance and that there's no way I would be able to tell a bad dance. And then I saw Sarah J. Nader and I was like, that's a bad dance. I think I was just rooting for the same-sex couple representation.
Starting point is 00:29:40 Of course, MJ, of course. We want the same-sex couple to win and go forward. But Sarah J. Nader was not it. And it was Avril Levine. I had some blinders on for her. I was like, I could tell it wasn't a great dance, but I was like, but it was better than Giata's. I'm sorry, Giata, I have watched Gianna on television for years.
Starting point is 00:29:59 And I am shocked by the lack of charisma. By how annoying she is. Yeah, by how. I knew she was annoying, but like, she's annoying in a specific type of way where I'm Like, you know, when you watch someone, especially on live, we've talked a lot about how Dancing with the Stars is a very awkward experience. It's as if no one there has ever done live television before, including the two hosts. And, uh, and so is kind of, he's kind of grown on me. He's loosening up.
Starting point is 00:30:26 I think he's really happy. He's always yelling. And I'm also always yelling into microphones. And I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, you're right. He's great. And I think that he's really happy to have Tatiana Ali there, his little sister. from fresh prints. Also, did you see when, like, he didn't know that she was going to end?
Starting point is 00:30:45 She was like, you really didn't know that I was, like, his like, overwhelming surprise. Very cute. It was. Oh, my God. And then she got kind of some, like, difficult feedback. And as she was walking away, he just goes, I'll talk to you soon, love you. And I was like, oh, my God. That's so nice. It's really cute.
Starting point is 00:31:00 And we have to also talk about Julianne Huff and how she looks like she has a gun to her back. But I was, Giata is the type of person on live TV where it makes you so tense. Because you're like, are you about to fall down? Are you about to cry? Like something horrible is going to happen. Are you about to vibrate until your bones fall apart? Because I think that she, I think her bones are hollow. I'm fairly sure.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Like that is, she is, I think that she could collapse and get underneath a door, you know? I think that that's the way she's built. And we're not saying that because she's 57 because I think she was like. No, it has nothing to do. The fact that she's, I mean, she's so tight. She's such, like, she's a little dark. She's a dog person. Yeah, she got a, I'm sorry to comment on somebody's body, but she got a mismatched.
Starting point is 00:31:48 She got a mismatched head. I don't know how that tiny body's holding up that head. Honestly, you know what it's given? It's given the lollipop. It's given the lollipop over here, but not with the bottom half, you know, and it's just given the top half of this lollipop. And so she's like, I'm 57. And so she's here to, because remember last year we had somebody who was in her 50s and Everyone's like, oh, God bless you for appearing in public.
Starting point is 00:32:12 And now we have a different old woman, old woman to feel bad for her. And she, but she was so nervous. And she was like, I'm just so proud of myself for doing this. But I'm like, are you? Because you look like you're about to have a nervous breakdown. Yeah. And then she started sobbing after she finished. And listen, I understand.
Starting point is 00:32:34 I can only imagine how nervous you would have to be going and dancing in front of billions of people. I can't imagine. And the relief after you've done it, like I probably also would burst into tears. Totally. And she is such a seemingly genuine person. And yet everything about her, I'm just like, this bitch.
Starting point is 00:32:55 Oh, this fucking bitch. I know. I feel bad because I've just always thought she was in such an annoying Food Network personality that I don't feel bad making fun of her on dance. Because I'm just like, you've been on screen with Bobby Flee, you bitch. It's like, that's not a reason. to be attacking her in your mind, Jackie. I know.
Starting point is 00:33:14 But she's also been in bed with Bobby Flay, and that's a reason to be attacking her. That's a reason to at least judge. That's for the damn sure. And I am also going to be judging. Connor, man, he tried his best, didn't he? And yeah, we're talking about Whitney's husband. Whitney's husband from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,
Starting point is 00:33:32 who got brought on, and for anybody that doesn't watch the show, can you imagine they're like, you brought her husband? on who cares. And here's a thing, MJ. This guy does seem like he's a good guy and he really is trying his best and it does seem like he's got a lot of trauma
Starting point is 00:33:51 from his past. But man, I tell you what? That dance. Giermo's the heart of the show. And so even though he was being rolled around like a pig in a blanket on the floor, he made it through the week. Heart of the show. You know, we know he's going to be hard of the show.
Starting point is 00:34:08 Adorable, the way he was shimmy. in the way he was getting it. Immediately, I think we're all in love with Guillermo and we're all here for it. And I love that America sent Connor home. They were like, no, we didn't want dad talk in our secret lives of Mormon wives and we don't want it in our dancing with the stars, even if you are the only good one. I feel like it's testing. Like, are you sure you're happy with your wife's success?
Starting point is 00:34:34 You know, because he's already had, like, he has, he has now a poster boy for being a supportive husband because none of the other men on secret lives of Mormon wives can handle the fact that their wives are rich and successful. Also, because, I mean, that is the culture that they were raised in. It's all about the priesthood. It's all about who is in charge. And this is the antithesis of everything that they were raised with. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:59 Yeah. I just got to that part with Zach Affleck in episode four of this season. Oh, my God. We're just like, I intend it from you. I dropped out of medicals. school so then I can help the way he's how has he how has he how has she let him put another child inside of her I don't understand it she's pregnant again MJ did you know that you know I know Jen Affle's pregnant again currently I know I know and I also know that she's like the the
Starting point is 00:35:27 kind of the bitch of this season and I she is being a bitch but I also kind of feel like Zach Affleck has smothered her light and it makes me and turned her into like a lonely and resentful person. Yeah. And I hate, hate that. And then again, the polar opposite is Whitney Levitt and her relationship because Whitney was a huge bitch in season one. And then I think really did some personal work and some interpersonal work and repaired with basically everybody. And then Jen is holding this like two-year-old grudge and, you know, Chicago and everything. All of her dreams are coming true. And then Connor Levitt, sweet, sweet man is like, I love my rich and successful wife. I love to be a stay-at-home dad, but then, you know, you see him on the
Starting point is 00:36:14 intro with Dancing with the Stars and he's just like, I'm really fun. I love magic and I've got a lot of charisma and I'm like, oh, sweetie. Oh, honey, it is, this is, wow. Wow. You would be, you would be so fun at a cookout. I will have a blast talking to you in the backyard. When you're making my dogs. Yeah, I think that that is, that is the extent and he gave it his all. And then he gave it is all as his ass got hit with the door on the way out. Yes, he was sent home and Sarah Jane Nader also sent home. And so we got two out the gate. We got two episodes in. We got two out the gate. And you have two minutes to hold onto your boots because we've got an ad coming up. Now, I didn't realize how much I needed dancing with the stars back in my life.
Starting point is 00:37:06 I didn't, I kind of forgot how I would be like drawn to the television like a toddler is drawn to a screen. Like every time I would watch the dance and I'm just like, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, we hit it. Yeah, ooh, uh, the arm. Yes. And I'm just doing that. And Jeff just like keeps walking through the living room and he's like, I'm really happy that you love this show so much. I'm like, I am dance. I'm all dance, baby. Yesterday I was sitting on the floor I like put the kids to bed Immediately go to the living room I'm sitting on the floor
Starting point is 00:37:37 Chris cross applesauce like Ed Shear At his own concert And I'm just But I'm the opposite Because I'm just staring at the TV With a big smile on my face I'm just like give me the choreo I'll watch any choreographed dance
Starting point is 00:37:51 Even the troop Even these nobodies who aren't stars yet They're excellent dancers And I'll watch them I'll watch it all I'll watch it all But I know that I know there's other stuff
Starting point is 00:38:01 that we, non-dancing TV we can also talk about. But also, I don't know if you want to find out if Mark Wahlberg's able to find out answers by any means. Because last week, MJ, we went to go see the movie Hope, which we tried to see multiple times, which is this like Korean sci-fi movie that we all really wanted to see. Multiple times, it's only showing in one theater inside of the AMC. both times we showed up the AC of that
Starting point is 00:38:33 theater was not working it's a three hour long movie we're like we're not doing this there's no AC it had been over a hundred in LA it was like we're not going to do this and we're like oh but we want to see a movie oh we just did dabs like I don't want to go somewhere else we want to see like literally what is
Starting point is 00:38:50 open that has tickets right now and the only thing that was available was the movie by any means starring Mark Wahlberg I didn't know anything about this movie, immediately Jeff was like, I do not support Mark Wahlberg. I refuse to see that movie. Did we end up seeing it anyway? Yes. Did James and I talk at him until he acquiesced? Yes. Because this movie is Mark Wahlberg wearing a big fake nose acting as a mafia guy that is brought in by a
Starting point is 00:39:21 black FBI agent who is going after racist people in the 60s. Wonder Man. Yeah, yeah, Abdul Matteen. I love him. And it is like an amazing, like it could be an amazing story. But don't worry, Mark Wahlberg is the lead and his production company did make the movie telling the black man's tale. And thank you, Mark Wahlberg for it. Because he put on a big nose, MJ. And don't you understand that he's not there to ask any questions?
Starting point is 00:39:52 He's there to crack a couple of heads, which he says about four times in the movie. It was obviously an excuse for Mark Wahlberg to say as many slurs as he wanted while beating somebody up. But here's the thing, MJ, it's different. He's beating up white guys and he's beating up racist white guys. Don't you see, MJ? He's the hero. He's already done slurs and beat people up in real life. He's already beaten up people via racism in real life as well.
Starting point is 00:40:27 It is so ridiculous. I couldn't believe how long Mark Wahlberg must have prepared for this role, you know? Maybe the next thing he's going to do is make a movie about him saving 9-11 because he also thinks that he saved, you know, he prevented a worse 9-11. If he was on the plane, MJ, it would have been different. He could have. MJ, did you know that by any means dropped on 9-11? You know why? Because of Mark Wahlberg would have been there?
Starting point is 00:40:55 It wouldn't have existed. And you think about what Mark Wahlberg could have done for this country when he's working at a four o'clock in the morning and not taking care of his kids. Okay? He works hard to put that big nose on. And yeah, did he look really stupid? Yeah, did at one point something bad happened in the movie and it cut to, it cut right to Mark Wahlberg. And I'm not kidding, for those that are watching the filmed episode at home, it cuts to him and he's supposed to be upset. and his whole bottom jaw went
Starting point is 00:41:27 cartoonishly from side to side and I think it's because he had prosthetics on his face so he thought he had to move his face more. MJ, I laughed until I cried multiple times while watching this movie. It was so bad. Please, though, for me, don't give it any money and here's why.
Starting point is 00:41:47 Because they, of course, say in the movie multiple times that they're willing to get the answers, by any means. And so what does that mean? I leaned over to Jeff and I was like, I think that they just mean punching people because they keep saying by any means, but I think it's just punching people until the very end, MJ. And I am going to spoil this movie for everybody because everybody needs to hear the end of this movie. Don't give him any money. And this, I just like, I couldn't believe it.
Starting point is 00:42:18 In this 2026, what does by any means mean? So he's beating up these two racist guys, right? and he's trying to get information and they won't budge. He threatens his mother and he threatens his family and he's going to do all these things and then they're there all tied up
Starting point is 00:42:34 and they're in their underwear and he unties one of them and he goes, yo, get on the floor, on your knees. And he goes, what, whoa? And he's like, on your knees. And he gets on his knees
Starting point is 00:42:50 and he goes, take down the other guy's underpants. No. And he goes to take down and he goes, no, no, I'll tell you anything. I'll tell you anything. I'll take anything. And literally, by any means meant try to force them to be gay for a second and just the idea of being faced with a penis. His mother, lop her head off.
Starting point is 00:43:16 His wife and kids, lop, lop, lop, lop, dead, dead. But a pup, pooh, pious. by any means, MJ. Because he comes and he's in there to crack a couple of heads, MJ. And it was atrocious. The fact that it was just like, I can't be go-g-go-go, go-go, and I'll tell you anything. And he, it was, I laughed and I laughed and I was upsetting everybody. And I didn't care.
Starting point is 00:43:46 It was so ridiculous that this movie was made. in earnest in 2026. That really feels like Mark Wahlberg just wanted to do what, like what if I could just make a movie where I weaponize homophobia? I'm not gay, MJ, I'm not gay, I'm never thought it on a dick before. I had to look up, was his hate crime racially motivated or sexual, like, I think it was racially. I believe it was racially only, I think.
Starting point is 00:44:16 It was, it was racially motivated. But as, you know, I really, I was like, it could have been homophobia. But it was racism. But I'm sorry I spoiled the movie, but also not sorry because you really don't need to give it any money. I'm upset that in my brain, AMC Stubbs, I didn't give it any money. But I did give it support and I'm upset about that. Wow. Wow.
Starting point is 00:44:41 Wow. By any means necessary. Coerced homosexuality. By any means. Wow. He just, you can tell. He thought that he. He's like, this is him like, breaking ground.
Starting point is 00:44:55 Wow, being a part of the conversation. I really dislike Mark Wahlberg. I really dislike him. I'm also struggling to figure out even narratively how that choice doesn't sound like it's connected to any of the rest of the plot of the movie whatsoever. By any means, MJ. By any means, I guess that's all.
Starting point is 00:45:14 By any means. You do not hear the name of the movie? I couldn't believe the places he would go. And we watched it happen, unfortunately. I still haven't seen hope. I know it's supposed to be really good. I did get a chance to see Resident Evil, though.
Starting point is 00:45:33 And that slapped. It was so good. It was so good. I know nothing about the games. I didn't know that every Resident Evil is different. I didn't know that it was... I got a great rundown afterwards, but I want to let everybody know
Starting point is 00:45:51 that if you're like, I'd love to see this movie, I know nothing about Resident Evil, you don't have to. You don't have to know anything about it. It is just a great movie. And the guy that's the lead in it is so good. As I look up his name, he's so good. I forgot his name.
Starting point is 00:46:06 That's how you know he's really good. I keep seeing ads for the Resident Evil movies, and I'm like, I don't know how to feel because I have no, somehow made it through being millennial in high school and never figured out what Resident Evil is. Like, if you ask me what type of video game is it, I would be like, first person shooter? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:46:25 I have no idea. Wait, Austin Abrams is also in Whalefall? He's the guy in Whalefall! Oh, shit, dude. Because everybody that's anybody is talking about how Austin Abrams is like, like, he's going to be Christian Bale. Like, he's like the next Christian Bale. And I, because I think it's, they only say that because he lost weight for weapons and then gained some weight back. for Resident Evil, I think that's where
Starting point is 00:46:52 people are saying Christian Bale, but I think that might be the only reason, but put him in a whale. Let's see him. He's kind of giving Timothy Shalame, as I'm looking at pictures of it, you know, he's given ding-dong, but he's given creepy ding-dong. You know what I mean? Like, he's given like a little bit of that. I feel like
Starting point is 00:47:10 in, in, in 2026, Austin Abrams is as close to an interesting-looking, young character actor that we're going to get. even though on paper very traditionally attractive. But I do feel like it's like, oh, but his eyes are like a little wonky. You know what I mean? I think that that's enough for like not like the other girls out there.
Starting point is 00:47:32 He's not like the other boys. And ooh, he's not, he don't want to kiss him in the movies, but I kind of want to kiss him in real life. And maybe I want to kiss him when he's covered in whale chum. I don't know. Okay. Well, while we're talking about things, we've watched. I just need to bring this in. I have not really yet formed a solid opinion,
Starting point is 00:47:55 but I want to open it up to the to the class. Okay. I'm watching Ryan Murphy's Lizzie Borden, new Lizzie Borden's. Ryan Murphy is giving Lizzie Borden the OJ and the Menendez brothers treatment. Yes. Right? What are we getting from it? Is it the same kind of Ryan Murphy lens upon stint? Very, very, very. And, you know, obviously, Lizzie Borden, fun, fun story to learn about. I enjoy the Ryan Murphy thing. Like, I really enjoyed the OJ one especially.
Starting point is 00:48:32 The Menendez one was fine. I think that my impression of how people feel about Ryan Murphy's, like, taking on crimes and turning them into these narrative series is that they're, very like over the top and very corny and not always accurate, but like good, you know, riveting, thriller, you know, storytelling. Not to derail what you're saying. I truly, I guess I don't, like if I haven't seen a show, I think that I let factoid's kind of bounce off of me every once in a while.
Starting point is 00:49:09 Do you know that Ryan Murphy started Glee? Oh, yeah. I didn't realize that that was Ryan Murphy. That's Ryan Murphy. It's so strange because I feel like the name Ryan Murphy comes up and half the room goes glee. And half the room goes the people versus OJ Simpson. I forget that or like just all like or American horror story. Like I think more in the world of American horror story than I remember with glee because honestly, MJ and I have been talking about starting glee over on the Patreon.
Starting point is 00:49:41 So. Yeah. Just throwing that out there. I think that it might be neither one of us have ever seen an episode of it. So yeah. Yeah. When we finish Buffy, we obviously need a replacement show.
Starting point is 00:49:55 And as much as neither Jackie or I has ever wanted to watch Glee, in the 16 years of doing page seven, Glee has come up a lot. Obviously, Leah Michelle being the best part and her illiteracy. I want to see how much she can't read. I want to watch it as she sings. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:12 And Guedith Paltrow is there, which I learned from looking for glee clips during our live show. Jane Lynch is there, which also like, I mean, yes, please. And also so much, like, curse, so many cursed things I feel like happened to a lot to a lot of the cast and stuff that I feel like would be really fun to get into and learn more about. And I do feel like it's one of those big shows that has a huge following that we've never broached before. for. Right. Right. Yeah. So I think I think that sounds great. And I, when you, when you brought up Glee, I was like, I was like, I think that I, I think, I'm not a Ryan Murphy apologist, but I think I might really like him, even though, again, I think I have a lot of complaints. Complaints about some of these, the real life crime ones that he does. And I haven't done American horror story. I know people really like that. But I think I might like his style. You know, it's like, it's Lizzie Borden. It's, it's, it's, it's. There's 40 wax with an axe. It's very, very gory. It's very Ryan Murphy.
Starting point is 00:51:19 And you're sucked in immediately. And I don't know how accurate it is because I don't know how accurate most of his real crime serializing. And I think that's what people get upset about. I think. I think that's especially with something like the Menendez brothers where there's like different opinions about what happened. And or about, you know, the justification of what happened.
Starting point is 00:51:41 And, yeah, with OJ, I thought, I just, I was like, this is, this is, this is cool. But yeah, I think that sometimes people's critiques are, you might come, you might come away from a Ryan Murphy retelling of a real crime with a completely narrow understanding. Misinformation. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. And I guess with Lizzie Borden, maybe we care less because all that happened a really long time ago. But that's why I want to bring it here, because I know we have obviously lots of true crime lovers out there, or crime lovers out.
Starting point is 00:52:10 or crime lovers out there and like, you know, scary story lovers out there. You're all like stabbing and you're all stealing and you're all slashing. You all love crime out there. We know what you're doing on the streets. The page seven audience loves to do crime and they love to kill their parents with an axe. Hello, our criminals.
Starting point is 00:52:30 How are our little criminals doing? What are we talking about the cast of 90-day fiance? Come on. So, yeah, I just want to bring that here to, is anyone else watching it? are we thinking? How do we feel about Ryan Murphy? How did we get from Glee to here? And and yeah, I think I will have more to say about it next week. And I will also try to figure out in what, if it is even remotely accurate in any way. But, you know, Lizzie Borden is more
Starting point is 00:52:59 just one of those. I love, I love like old. Scary stories are inherently less upsetting if there more than 100 years ago to me. So I'm like, bring it on, Ryan Murphy. And also I feel like if there's a nursery rhyme about the amount of wax with the axe, I feel like you can have a little bit more fun with it, right? Exactly. Yeah. Now, a show that is not fun, but it will make you furious.
Starting point is 00:53:26 Check out the show Furious on Hulu. It dropped like a month ago and everybody had been losing their mind about it. and I was just like, I just don't know if I'm in the place to what, like, because I, Holden kept telling me it's giving like a killing Eve. And I was like, I don't know. Yes, yes. Yes. And I didn't know if I was in the place for that.
Starting point is 00:53:48 And then I watched the first episode of Furious. And I was sucked into this story. I, especially with everything, like, I feel like every time Emmy Rossum is in something comes up all the PR of like, you know she's not very nice. everybody says she's not very nice, not very nice. And okay, I just feel like in the scheme of things, you want everybody to be really nice, but I think it's okay if someone's not really nice.
Starting point is 00:54:17 And that's just, and I feel like that always comes, like gets dredged up again. And, but she's really great on this show. And this woman Lola Petty Crew, who plays like the person opposite of her is, I'm immediately sucked into it. God, she's so good. And I, like I said, if you hear this kind of thing and you're like, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:54:46 watching them, I want to say, use the word playing, just because it is such a, like, Lola Petty Crew is so, I don't know this person from anywhere else, but I feel like this is definitely like, I don't know how I could watch her be anything else besides this really like, this amazing character and fascinating character. I really, and it's right up your alley, MJ. Okay.
Starting point is 00:55:18 Yeah, this sounds, I think maybe I'll suggest this to Gideon because, you know, we're still, we're almost done with evil and we're watching lanterns. And we've got a, you know, we got a couple of things that we're watching. And I'm watching, I'm devoting hours of my life each week now to dancing with the stars. But it's almost, I don't know what Furious. I don't know why it's making me think about Orphan Black, but I think I just saw somebody talking about Tatiana Maslani recently. And I just was thinking about how much I loved Orphan Black.
Starting point is 00:55:44 I loved Tatiana Moslani. I love her. I miss her. I loved She Hulk because she was in it, you know. Oh, yeah. And I love killing me. I think I like She Hulk too, MJ. If you could recall, yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:59 Like watching it. I like a crime thriller with a, bunch of beautiful women. I think that's what it is, you know? Honestly, Lanterns is really giving. It is. I think that Kelly McDonald is, I keep forgetting that she is Scottish. She, because she's like, she's in so many things. She's the cop, the sheriff in lanterns. She's great.
Starting point is 00:56:24 So many things. And I just straight up forget, she's Scottish. She's one of those that I just. Wow, she's a Matthew Reese, just a hidden person from the UK. MJ, I went, I had such an in-depth conversation with my mother yesterday about Matthew Rees because my mom is a reesaholic. And I said, bitch, do I have a show for you because she had never seen the Americans? And my mom started it yesterday. And she's already, she texted me this morning. I was like, I'm already on the eighth episode. I was like, mom, you have to sleep. You can't just watch the Americans. It was like the Americans isn't going anywhere. She's obsessed with. with Matthew Reese. Great. And I'm loving this journey for her because we were talking about Widows Bay. I will say I'm starting to work on my Halloween costume.
Starting point is 00:57:15 So, yeah, I'm talking more about Widows Bay. You're going to be Patricia? I think I got to be, MJ. I love Patricia so much. And I love, especially specifically that episode. So Jeff is in the middle of making me the headdress that I'm going to swap out throughout the night with the tiara and like swap it out with the headdress. So hopefully when people see me at different times, they don't know if I have,
Starting point is 00:57:38 if I'm, you know, cursed or not. Oh, man, that's a great idea. It's also the Americans are going to be extra fun for your mom as somebody who's old enough to remember the Cold War. I feel like I, as I was watching it, I was like thinking about how we just kind of missed the, you know, decades of, you know, Soviet high-stakes Soviet panic, you know, because of when we were born. And so I think it's going to be extra fun for somebody who really lived through that shit with the Soviet, with the whole Soviet spy, you know, Cold War part of the American.
Starting point is 00:58:11 So that's going to be, I'm so, I'm so happy for her. That's going to be great. And I think that Patricia, that version of Patricia is going to be a good costume because I'm sure there's going to be a lot of Widows Bay themed costumes. And I think it's going to be one of those where you have to explain it a lot. But I think that you've got a visual indicator for Patricia that's really going to help you out. And also, if I have to, like, if you don't know what it's from, I have to be like, go watch Widows Bay. I'm not going to tell you anything about it. Just go watch Widows Bay.
Starting point is 00:58:40 Because it is. I don't want to talk to you until you come back. We were already talking about how, you know, so many people even said, like, if you guys hadn't been talking about Widows Bay, I may not have even heard of it or known of it because, really, Apple TV, it gets buried over there. And then there's like these little, there's these, like, like, like, a plurb like a Widow's Bay that break out from it, like a studio, you know, that are breaking out of it. But they're making so much content. It's crazy. Yeah. Yeah. I actually, I think I think, you know,
Starting point is 00:59:16 usually in October, Gideon and I do a scary movie watch. And there are a couple of ones that came out this past year that I want to ask you, which ones do I want to watch? Like, I really want to watch weapons. I don't know anything about it, but I'm intrigued. I'm intrigued. I'm intrigued by the poster. I'm intrigued by all those children run around with their hands out. What's going on? Why are they doing that? So I want to watch
Starting point is 00:59:40 weapons. There's a couple of other ones that came out this year that I know that I do want to watch, but also not for nothing, I kind of just want to rewatch Wadows Bay for Halloween because it was so fun. I rewatched the Patricia episode because we were working on the head piece and I did. I was like
Starting point is 00:59:56 just started from the beginning. I'm ready to do a full rewatch. I'll do a full rewatch anytime it is just such a wonderful show that every episode is different from the pre- like it's just, it gets more dark as time goes on. It's so well written. It's so well-acted. And like, you know, Stephen Root winning at 74, that's, it's an amazing show. Really definitely check it out.
Starting point is 01:00:25 If the Emmys are don't convince you, I don't know what will, but wow. Well, maybe next week you, we can, we can come back to like maybe, because I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants some horror movie recommendations going into October. Because I know that you basically saw every horror that came out in 2026. And I also know that you know that I don't want like a terrifier, you know, but I, but I do creepy children. Sign me up. You got it. I'm going to come in. I'm going to give you some Halloween watching Rex for if you like something like this.
Starting point is 01:01:02 Maybe you want to watch a this. If you're into this kind of thing, you can watch this because you are correct, MJ. I think I've seen most, at least everyone that hit theaters, I've seen every horror movie, regardless of whether it was good or not, because there are a lot of movies I see that I don't talk about here on the show. By any means, though, it makes the cut. It's just, I was. so upset about it and the fact that that was the climax of the movie and then it ended right
Starting point is 01:01:31 after that that it literally was just like that's it that was what you were leading to when you say by any means i was so blown away that that's what the plot was i had to bring it to the big show even just to tell everyone don't give that man your money yeah i don't know how many page seven heads were on their way to see Mark Wahlberg. I don't think so. We may have saved one or two people today. Or maybe at least stop someone of like, oh, I can show this to like my dad. And then you hear the end.
Starting point is 01:02:07 You're like, oh, maybe not. Maybe that's not one for it. I mean, you don't see. And my, at that point, I was like, hang the dong then. If you're going to do this, I want to see a dick. And they didn't. They didn't even take off his underpants. I was like, then do it.
Starting point is 01:02:21 If you're going to do it and be like, I'm not homophobic. Then do it. Right. Yeah, no, that would have been far too gay. No, he would have gotten an al dente, MJ. And then what would Mark Wahlberg do? He would have to work out until his penis fell off. And maybe that's already happened. And that's why he has to make movies like this.
Starting point is 01:02:39 Yeah, you know, we love to just conflate anything gay with inherent violence and depravity. I think that's really, that's giving, honestly, desperate housewives. But I know. It is giving desperate housewives. All the gay people on Desperate Housewives are evil, you guys. It's almost like you're saying it's giving 20 years ago. And yeah, it is. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:02 I mean, again, Green Day, 94 and ahead of the curve. No way. No, we're not going to abandon our gay band. No. But, Jackie, I know we're running out of time here, but I also know you had mentioned a true crime. And you're not usually the true crime gal around here. But you're watching a doc on HBO that you said is really good that I do want to hear about. because I finish the pastor's wife and I never want to think about it again.
Starting point is 01:03:25 Okay, so tell me something good. That's why I'm not going to tell you much about this, MJ. What I'm going to tell everybody is to go check out on HBO a killer story. A killer story. I thought it was a killer's story. And I thought we're having a family's stone situation. But we're not having a family's stone situation. No, it is just a killer story.
Starting point is 01:03:46 A killer space story? Correct. Like it's a killer story. A killer story. Correct. All right, got it. And I obviously didn't know anything about it. Kara told me to watch it. There are two episodes out so far. The final episode drops. And if you're listening to this, it dropped yesterday. So go watch it right now. You can watch all three episodes. And it is left on such a, give me the final episode. Like the first one, we were just going to watch the first episode last night. And it was, it left you on such a cliff that I was like, I mean, we've got to watch a second episode.
Starting point is 01:04:21 We stayed up to watch the second episode and by the time it was like, give us a third. Give it right now. I need it. So I'm like counting down the seconds until Thursday so I can find out because the it was like while it was being filmed the trial, the retrial was happening. And it is it is the same, it's similar kind of situation where someone gets so invested in the case because it's such a flagrant. obvious abuse of police work, an abuse of power, of something that they just decided something, put out a like a date line or like a 48 out, you know, like one of those. Yeah. And essentially bought the whole trial. And it is about these two people that are championing this person that they feel was wrongly imprisoned. Oh, okay. Wow.
Starting point is 01:05:20 that sounds that sounds great. It, I. Everyone this week is talking about the like the real, the 60 Minutes interview with, with Patrick Clancy and the aftermath of the Lindsay Clancy trial and how what a, what a bizarre choice it was on many levels and how it ended up getting cut and it was received so poorly and Ross Duth out was the interviewer and why, why, why. And so I feel like having a different story about like the aftermath of a trial right now is actually good timing, you know?
Starting point is 01:05:50 Yes, and I don't know what's going to happen with it. I'm baffled. It's done so well, too, that you genuinely don't know. A killer story. This is great. It's going to be like you, you, and if Kara tells you about the sad, dark, true crime that she watches and then you tell me, it'll be like a little true crime telephone, you know, through Jackie.
Starting point is 01:06:18 and we'll go back and we'll just exchange sadnesses. Because I know you're not going to, you know, spent a lot of time on the pastor's wife, nor should you, because it's just very upset. We did. Garrett did make me watch it, and I did. Oh, you watched it. I did.
Starting point is 01:06:32 The way that man cried, put him in jail just for that. He sounded like Miss Piggy. If Miss Piggy were disturbed, like it just, it wasn't in a fun way, you know? Yeah. Yeah. Horrible, horrible human being.
Starting point is 01:06:52 But, you know, in the meantime, don't worry while I'm starting to scrounge together my horror movie wrecks and I'm sucking on my audio pops, I'll be over here dreaming of all you and how the vibrations go through my bones into my brain. Really crazy. You got to bite down on it. Make the sounds come from your teeth. I really, really recommend people if you find yourself at a five below. And I know that that might be unlikely for you, but they're everywhere. And they have everything. And most of what they have is cheap and annoying.
Starting point is 01:07:29 Chewy fru-futis. Yeah, the candy situation is too much. But I do recommend the audio lollipop. It really brought a lot of joy to my household this week. And I would say that, like, for the most part, I don't think I don't usually suck a lollipop to culmination. To completion? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:48 I think that's a good confession to make. You don't let it finish per se. I think I would let this one finish. I think I would want to hear all the songs enough that I'd let it finish in my mouth. Obviously, I still have mine from last week, so mine has just been edging it. Wow, edging it all week, MJ. You've got to give it a little relief. But hopefully you experience a little bit of relief from reality while listening to today's second helpings.
