Two soldiers bonded for life.
When anyone else would quit.
It's just you and me, boy.
They'll use all their skills to get home.
Brad Pitt, Art of the Beast Friday.
PKN, 631.
Kyle was just telling me about a UFC upset.
And I was so locked in, I'm like, we should have this as part of the show.
Oh, it was great.
So Gable Stevens, his name is weird.
Let me look at it again.
Stevenson. There's no end.
Gable Stevenson.
The next big thing that, like, everyone's psyched that he's going to, like,
dominate the UFC next gen.
He's 4 and O.
He's incredible wrestling talent.
I don't remember his exact pedigree at the NCAA.
I think he plays second at National.
He's like the number two guy in the nation a year or two ago or something,
three or four years ago, whatever it was.
But he raped a lady.
Him and his buddy held some lady down and raped her.
and I guess there was enough evidence to convict him
and he kind of got away with it.
And so he's like a,
I think it was like a negative 2,400 or something favorite
over this guy they're feeding him.
And at the pre-fight press conference,
the big one where everybody sits down,
his opponent is like, this guy's a rapist.
He raped the woman in 2024.
And there wasn't enough evidence to convict him.
He shouldn't even be here right now.
That shit ain't right, dog.
You're a rapist.
And the whole crowd is like,
rapist,
rapist, right?
Like,
they hate him.
The fight begins 10 seconds.
And this massive,
uh,
rapist gets knocked the fuck out.
And it was beautiful.
It was beautiful.
He gave him a couple extra.
Everybody was losing their minds.
John Jones,
you could read his lips.
Oh my goodness.
John Jones was this guy's coach.
Not a rapist,
but a woman beat her.
I'm surprised,
Connor McGregor doesn't coach this guy as well.
And it was wonderful.
It was wonderful.
It felt like the MMA gods came down and were like, one for you.
And I really appreciated it because the bad guys were supposed to win that night.
And instead, this guy got his first L in the UFC.
He got knocked out embarrassingly.
He didn't even stay for the other guy to get his hand raised.
He like ran for the back with John Jones, a little bitch.
It was beautiful.
It was beautiful.
And the other guy needs this.
The other guy is 600.
thousand dollars in debt.
Oh my gosh.
It's not a mortgage.
It's not, it's like credit card debt.
He's got half a million in credit card debt.
The guy who knocked him out, the guy who got his 600 grand in credit card debt.
You're absolutely right.
He needs to go bankrupt.
He showed it.
There was like a little little pie graph of his debt and sort of showed how it was
distributed.
And I was like, ooh, that's bankruptcy there, buddy.
Get it.
Get it done.
I don't see it.
Like, unless it's student loans or something, it sounds like it's just unsecured debt.
There's a reason the interest rates are so high on those because you go bankrupt and it disappears, mostly.
Yes.
Well, this guy must be struggling because Sean Chiraff doesn't even have a Wikipedia page.
So that debt is there to stay.
And I bet he made, you know, nine grand to knock that guy out.
He got 30 to show, 30 to win.
And then Dana gave him $50,000 bonus.
And then there was a special bonus that night was another 50.
so he got 100K bonus plus 60.
Oh, not bad.
160 is a good start.
That's his interest this year.
Yeah, but that's more than I thought
the no name's made.
Here's his debt.
Oh my gosh.
I can't wait to see this.
Oh, I hope you can see it okay.
Yeah, just, I'm not logged in, but yeah.
Yeah, same.
I wasn't here.
Credit cards, auto loans, collections,
and other accounts.
So it's mostly credit cards.
Of the $632,000 in debt,
over $500,000 of that is credit cards.
and credit lines.
I don't know.
Maybe it's against a home.
Or just personal private loans or like,
yeah,
60,000 in car loans is despicable for a guy
who's half a million in debt with a credit card.
I think he needs to downsize the car
and then put a lot of money towards this.
He has $27,000,
$26,000 in collections.
It's like, dude, your credit's already ruined.
Just file for bankruptcy.
Get this over with, start the process.
Seven years from now, you can be a human again.
Like, do it.
Oh, because that's how long it takes to go away, right?
Yeah, seven years it'll come off your credit report.
Yep.
Is there a limit to that?
How many times can you just every seven years,
you can just do it again?
I guess they're going to give you like a $350 limit credit card.
Well, wait a minute.
There's something like that.
I don't know how it works.
This never occurred to me, but Woody,
why can't you just file for Bankruptcy every day of the year?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I'm not that experience in bankruptcy.
Well, I think the courts do look at your assets and sort of liquidate you and make you pay everything off.
You don't get to just snap it away.
But the limiting factor would be real-world assets and an actual need to do the bankruptcy,
not that they're like, hey, weren't you just in for a bankruptcy?
Right.
Well, I thought the implication was like you declare bankruptcy every day while you're like on the download building wealth.
I'm glad that one you got a credit anyway.
Yeah.
You'd have to rent.
Yeah.
Even renting is tough with no credit record or bad credit.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You can't do anything without credit.
Like if you've got a bankruptcy on there, my uncle had a bankruptcy.
And I remember like, it ruined his life.
Like it ruined like a huge chunk of his life.
He had like a divorce and they had a business fail.
And then he had to file divorce basically is what happened.
For bankruptcy is basically what happened.
It wasn't necessarily like this.
This guy with half a million dollars with a credit card stuff,
but he got into every said had to file bankruptcy.
And I remember there was a seven-year period where it was like,
dang, Uncle D's not doing so well.
Like, my dad's always co-signing for him so he can get anything.
Like, he can't get a car anymore.
He's a grown man with a full-time job.
He has a house, a family, but he can't go get a Kia.
Like, Kia's like, no, no.
We can't trust you with $27,000 at Kia finance, sir.
Have you ever had a mistake on your credit record?
maybe not a mistake they were right about it all there was a mistake on mine i i i was accused of not paying
a copay for this insurance plan i had at cisco with no co-pay what had happened is the insurance
company that cisco was working with went out of business and their records got fouled up in some way
the amount that i owed wasn't a lot it was like sixty eight dollars so i was like all right whatever i'll just pay this
so that my credit record is clean.
There was nobody to pay it to.
The company was out, like I couldn't write a check.
I couldn't call anyone.
They were just gone.
So it existed as this little thing on my credit record for seven years,
but that was a long time ago.
Yeah.
That's shitty.
Can't you just buy your own debt?
Is that paying off your debt?
No, because so the collections company,
they buy your debt from, say, Citibank for a real fraction of the cost.
like because they buy so much of it, they get a song.
I don't remember, I don't know what it is, but think 15%, 25%, something like that.
And so then when, I don't know if you ever had collections called you, I didn't pay my phone bill when I was 19.
They called me.
I said no.
But every time I said no, they were like, maybe half.
Could you give us half?
And I'm like, I'm 19.
I don't have it.
Like you have fucked me.
Like it was my phone bill.
My phone bill went over in minutes.
And suddenly, that was a big deal back then.
Yeah.
And a $80 phone bill goes from like $40 to $6,000 or something.
Yeah.
$1,000 or something like that.
Okay.
Yeah.
And I was just like, fucking sue me.
Fucking sue me.
I'm 19.
Like right now I'm taking a shit in my dad's bathroom.
I'm about to go.
I'm about to head to work.
It's 4 a.m. or whatever.
And I'm just like, sue me.
I don't fucking care.
You're not getting that money.
I need that money.
I have it.
You can't have it.
Like, like $14 is all I have in the world right now.
You can't fucking have it.
Maybe I was 18.
Yeah, I was 18.
I was not paying that.
That used to happen to me all the time.
I think because I was older, I just handled it smarter.
It's not.
I think I'm being unkind.
But yeah, meanwhile, I'm like 27.
So I call up the phone company and I'm like, hey, I got this bill.
It's $1,200.
Can you retroactively give me whatever plan would have made this reasonable?
They're like, yeah, we got you.
And that's what would happen.
The $1,200 would drop to like $85.
But now I'm on a plan that fits our usage.
Yeah, it was crazy too because like I had a job.
I was 18.
I was painting cars with my dad and I had a side job to,
and I had saved up a couple thousand dollars to move out.
This is like right out of high school.
And like that phone bill came in one month.
And it was like 700.
And I was like, God, that hurts.
You can't imagine how much $700 hurts an 18 year old who has $2,000 in the world.
It works so hard for that too.
I can't imagine, but carry on.
And I was like, so when I sent him that 800, I was like,
don't do this again to me now.
won't be so nice next time Verizon Wireless.
And so when they hit me with that $1,200 the next
month, I was like, you're not cleaning me out.
You're not cleaning me out. I can go without a phone if I have to.
I don't care. I did. I didn't do it.
Yeah. All that for a shitty flip phone at the time,
2004 or whatever.
Yeah.
I'm not sure if things like this still happen to people.
Like, doesn't everyone have like unlimited minutes down and stuff?
Yeah, that's been evolved out.
And I don't know what year it happened.
But all the commercials suddenly in like the late aughts stopped
mentioning minutes and pretended that was never a thing.
Like it's unlimited now.
It's like what always should have been.
You know, it became data instead of something else, perhaps.
Sure.
Yeah.
Because then you probably happened around the time of the iPhone coming out for everybody,
which really just kind of gave everybody the internet.
And then they start moving towards data.
Yeah.
I remember when like people, that's one of those things that people today, like, like this
current generation and maybe even the one before it don't really have a concept up,
the idea of like limited text messages or limited minutes like that whole thing like or even the
idea of like typing on a a quirky keyboard in your pocket when you yeah um like like skills like
that are just lost to time that might as well be like wood carving from the assyrian age or something
like that never i remember like being so good at t nine and going from like a razor or regular
flip phone in like late high school to getting the whatever the second type of i
phone, maybe the first type of iPhone was, and being like, I'll never get back to my speed with,
like, I need to use both hands. And I can't feel the tactile response. So I have to look down.
So you were slower on an iPhone than you were on a way slower. Yeah, like T9, like it was good
at predicting what you wanted to say. And so like you could like Kyle said, like just hold it under
your desk and like just select your friend's name out of the list and then text them in class.
I'd watch people do in class
head straight ahead
like hand like by their hip
just and they're just
and I'm like
fuck I need more friends
and then you get the iPhone and you're like
man everybody's going to think it could be so stoked on me
I'm so cool and then you're like trying to talk on it
and you accidentally touch the two areas that kill your phone
and then you have to
go back and call some things
I didn't get an iPhone till late
I don't think I got the first one sucked
Yeah, I didn't get the first one.
I think I got the second one.
The first decent one.
Yeah, I think maybe I did the same.
Because I still had, I'd spent like an unreasonable amount of money on a flip phone,
like a year or two before then or something like that that I liked.
The original iPhone was a closed platform,
which means that people couldn't write apps for it.
Apple, the apps that came with it were the only apps that existed.
And it was just a lot less exciting.
Like, everyone was psyched about the iPhone.
and like it was kind of cool.
We kind of saw it coming because the iPad, no, iPod existed.
And it was like there was an iPod version that kind of looked just like it.
And you know, like, oh, right, now it's a phone.
We all saw this.
But it wasn't until they opened the platform.
And all of a sudden, like that beer drinking app comes out, flapping bird and who knows what else.
And it became a part of it.
Flashlights.
You know, the thing you'd have a flashlight.
It didn't have a flashlight at first.
No.
You had to.
you had to get an app.
There was an app that you had to go in the app store
and it was a flashlight app.
And I made it a, you know,
it was right there next to like fucking Twitter
and Reddit.
It's like, oh, here's, let me find my flashlight app
and you press it.
And come on,
why don't my phone do this?
I liked in the beginning,
it didn't have a forward facing camera.
So somebody wrote an app
that just turned it all black.
And it kind of worked as a half-assed mirror
where you're like,
I kind of see me in the reflection when it's all black.
And then he got a forward-facing camera that was gone.
Yeah.
I remember in like, again, late high school, the first iPhone and being like, this is awesome.
I can like go on the internet in school and look something and never worked.
Not once did a search return a result.
It'd be like, yeah, but I can look this thing up about school.
You know what?
I'm just going to go to the library and sign up for a computer.
And then it not once did a search work, probably the entire first iPhone.
phone I had. My dream was that I could handle a work emergency with my phone, not a talking one,
but like something that needed actual like code written. And I don't think that I ever did that.
Never worked out. No, no. I could do like the very beginnings of the debugging to figure out if it was a
woody problem. But I couldn't fix a problem on my phone. Speaking of fixed problems,
I've all I've been watching recently is like survival shows.
Okay.
Like Outlast on,
what happened is I had family coming down.
My brother was staying here.
And so Friday night,
we were all just hanging out.
Grandparents were in town.
And my brother was like,
oh,
do you guys watch this show Outlast?
Which is like a Netflix survival show.
And they take these people.
They put them in teams.
And usually teams of four.
And you can leave your own team.
you can kick someone off your team.
You can betray your team.
The only rule is you can't win alone.
You have to be on a team.
And so if you like, you know, there was a lot of intrigue where I could be like,
if you, if Kyle and Woody are on a different team and I'm on, you know, Team C over here.
And Kyle comes over to me and goes, hey, you guys just had someone, you know, bitch out.
You only have three.
I'm a good provider.
Let me join on your team.
And as long as you let me join tonight at midnight, I'm going to show up.
and I'm going to bring all the goodies.
I'm going to bring the fire starter rods and the bow and arrows from Woody's camp.
And they're, you know, you want to help you and harm him.
And then we decide, yeah, so true.
So Kyle gets himself kicked out for stealing.
He starts lugging stuff over here and we go, we actually don't accept you.
So good luck getting back in, but I'm also going to take the stuff.
And so you can like fuck people over.
They just double crossed him like that.
Yeah, a lot of double crossing.
And the problem with it is so little of the show was about because like when I watch a survival show,
I want to see a guy being like, this is how I'm building my, my fireplace.
This is how I'm going to tan this hide so I can make use.
I want to see the actual how to shit.
And after like a season and a half of watching Outlast, I'm like one team that was like doing
really well on the survival aspect lost because the other two teams just stole from them so much
that they had to like build a bow for the final challenge.
And I was like, this shit.
about that show. I've told you guys about that show. About an atlas? One came out. Yeah, three years ago when season one came out, I told you about how much I hate this stupid fucking show. It's pretty darned. There's a that when that cunt came and stole his shit in front of his face and was like, there's nothing you can do about it. There's nothing you could do about it. Oh, I do. I remember. I had a fucking snap. I had a fucking snap. I was like, yes, there is something I can do about it. We both lose today. I'm going to jail and you're going to the hospital and we're both going home today. You got to.
bitch. You're not stealing my fucking shit.
You're not stealing my fucking shit.
What if you just said that?
Right? Does he need to call your blood?
That's what I would have said before the beating.
Maybe the meeting could be avoided.
Maybe you just keep your thing.
She could have changed her mind.
I won't change mine.
You've gone too far.
You know what?
I was wrong about all this.
Actually, you have keep your.
No, no.
Come here.
Come here.
No, no.
No, come here.
The cameraman would have to get me off that
cunt.
That cunt.
who was like using some sort of like,
I'm a girl and this is a TV show,
so I can just take whatever I want.
Yeah.
I wanted to,
I wanted to hurt her really badly.
I really wanted to dunk her under the water long enough
that she thought I wasn't going to let her up.
And then I was just a spooker.
Yeah,
but then I'd be like,
oh, you're still alive.
And then I'd dunk her back in.
So she thought I was trying to kill her.
But then I'd let her up.
I wouldn't kill her or anything.
No, you're on,
you're on camera.
Yeah,
you got to,
yeah,
they're watching this all.
But I noticed,
uh,
watching,
going from Outlast, which I agree, it was a fun premise,
but then too much of it was like just stealing other people's shit and like little bits of politics.
And I'm like, if I'm going to watch a survival show, I want to see like an adept survivor.
And you could tell that like these were not the creme de la crem survival contestants.
Like if you've ever seen the show alone, those are like kind of the tippity top of the survival people.
Most of them are these people.
shit though. Some of it is but or the thing with the loan that seems fake is that like sometimes you'll be watching and you'll be like this person has such an insurmountable lead. I know that this editing trying to make it seem like Jordan so he might get caught up. Christi or Ted might catch up. It's anyone's game and then you watch and it's like this guy's barely losing weight. Everyone else looks like they're dying. Dumbled upon like fish that just beached itself and I'm like well at least they remove the fucking polyurethane
rapping from the supermarket before they put it there.
And like just time and time again,
the people who are really about to like drop out of alone would luck into baskets of food.
And I don't buy it.
I haven't seen a lot of baskets of food.
I've seen a guy kill a moose and he processed a whole moose.
But I also,
the outlast tier of expert was this one woman on her team.
She's like, I'm, you know, I'm older.
I'm 55, but I think my wisdom and my expertise is what's going to see me through this.
and it was her and three other people on their team
and they're like getting to know each other
and they're like hey this is running water
it's kind of moving. What say we grabbed the dude was like
let's see we grab some of this take it back and boil it and make it safe
and this like expert woman like just fills up her mug
and drinks some of it and immediately everyone else on the team's like whoa
I'm going to take mine back and boil it though
when she right that no later that night she's like
oh no
The food thing, I'm right.
I looked into it because I was upset.
I was like, what the fuck?
She just found a fish on the beach.
As a person, I didn't grow up on a lake, but I grew up on the ocean.
None of those fish you find on the edge of the water are okay to eat.
They were rotted before they washed up on the shore.
Those things are old and bad and dangerous.
Not this one.
This one, like I said, was fresh and pristine.
And I have no idea how that fish died.
I suspect.
It didn't get enough oxygen after it was hooked.
That's my theory.
Wow, this is the whole mouth baths.
It just has holes in its mouth.
And then the basket of food I was referring to, this guy had built this, it was like a fish trap.
Like they're able to swim in, but they can't find their way out.
And it did nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing for ages.
And then all of a sudden there were like 13 fish in there.
Let me get the fuck out of here.
Those fish were placed there.
You ever see a, there's this biologist, survival expert, forest,
Scalant. He's on Rogan a lot. He's, he's often talking about discovering new animals and exploring
the world as a jungle expert. And he was on one of these survival shows in the jungle. And he was telling
the story about it. And he's like, we're walking through the jungle and I'm looking around.
Like immediately, I was like, huh, that's jungle yucca, which is a potato, a wild potato. So I start
harvesting them. Before you know it, I got 30 pounds of potatoes. So I make a little sack and
haul them back to my base camp and there I have 30 pounds of potatoes. And I looked at the producer and I said,
Well, I went.
And he said, we're taking those potatoes away.
You can't have those.
And they took all my potatoes away.
And I said, oh, that's all fine and good.
And then the cameras all left for the night.
And I went and dug up 20 more pounds of potatoes.
I came back the next day.
They said, all right, well, you can keep your potatoes,
but you got to hide them from the camera.
This is embarrassing.
I saw something similar where there's one season of alone,
which, by the way, the fish finding thing,
I didn't see that season,
but I did see them catch a fish on Outlast or like find a fish on Outlast.
And it found it.
They found one.
And I guess maybe it had some like puncture holes where a bird was too big for its britches trying to grab it.
I don't know.
But that did seem a little seedy.
But Outlast seemed more about arguing.
But this alone guy who won a season, he killed a moose.
Like, and it's so funny.
Those monsters coming in.
Those would be good to hunt in the show.
get, you know, weeks of meat.
But this one guy, he killed a moose.
And he was like, this is so much meat.
It's crazy.
And apparently, like, one of his things he took umbrage with, not umbrage, but he was like,
people, like asked him on a Reddit AMA, like, what were you surprised to see in the way
they edited this about you after you killed the moose?
And he was like, I was shocked when they kept splicing me and the other final contestants
in the last episodes.
And they really selectively edited it to make it seem like I was running low on my moose meat and that I was wondering where my next meal was coming from.
Like, I don't know who could believe that because I had killed a moose four weeks prior.
And I had hundreds and hundreds of pounds of meat.
And this same guy, he was like one of the legit survivors who doesn't because half of them are like, I'm not going until they pull me out of here.
And then two days later, they're like, my family needs me.
And it's like, shut the fuck up, you pussy.
But this dude, he was a, he was, he had built all of his like meat preserves up.
And a wolverine, he like found these crappy cans on like the beach and you filled them with rocks and like put them in areas where they tip over if something tried to get at his food.
And he went out there in the middle of the night with his night vision on.
And he's like, you just see him shoot the arrow.
They're self-filming.
So it's not the best angles.
And he's like, I've done it.
I done.
Pint him to the ground.
Need to get my hatch.
And he had pinned a Wolverine to the ground that was like freaking out.
And then he killed it with the hatchet.
And so he had a moose and a whole wolverine.
And meanwhile, he's wearing a Wolverine hat.
And it would like leave his camp and be like, all right, now leaving Jordan and over to Susan.
And Susan's sitting there like visibly dying being like, I just don't know how many more berries I could eat.
And he's like, yeah, I just, you know, I could have stayed out there another.
a hundred days.
The whole legit survivor thing is an interesting
concept to me.
Survival season one. Probably people know
this. But originally, before
it started, the producers and me, like
a viewer, thought the show was going to have
a lot to do with survival capabilities.
You know, all this guy's a Navy SEAL.
He'll probably do great.
And then it turned out some salesman named
what Richard Hatch?
Hatch. Hatch.
He won the whole thing.
How? Through like, I don't know.
manipulation, convincing people, building alliances, betraying at the right time, stuff like that.
And there were two people that kind of played the same game like that, but one was sort of an up front.
Like, hey, Taylor, let's make a deal.
You should know in advance.
I'm a well-known liar.
And you're like, all right, well, uh, still the best option on the table.
And the other person's like, Taylor, let's make a deal.
You can trust me.
And then it was a different kind of betrayal.
And afterwards, this guy who won survival but didn't have great survival skills.
Yeah, one's a snake, one's a rat.
But it was like maybe that's what survival actually is.
You know, like even in a wilderness situation, the person that has the charisma and the convincing
and the like ways to sort of manipulate society, even in this gang of 18 people or whatever
it was, that's what survival actually.
is. And when I hear it's made its way to, did you say it was called Alone? You know, people were like
sort of manipulating the rules and leaving and double crossing. It's like that perhaps is what
apocalypse looks like. That's what I like alone is that there is no politicking. Like it's just
them by outlast. What's the first one you meant? Outlast. That's what I meant to say. Like alone was good
because like they can't fake it. Like you can look online of the 10 items they're allowed to bring and like what
they're actually provided.
And it shows when they get booted off, if they've been there a long time,
it'll show their picture of when they show up versus when they leave.
And it's like, Alan has lost 78 pounds in the 36 days.
He's here.
And he's like, one guy was like looking so thin.
Like he was just like, teeth are getting loose.
That's not good.
That means I'm missing a lot of.
I don't have that too.
The body changes are huge.
And you see these like really hot girls at the start of the show.
And it's like,
they won't stay hot.
They're going to get too skinny, even by my standards.
They're going to get like, just.
No, no, they die.
No.
But yeah, they get, they, I, I, first thing, as soon as you mentioned,
outlast, I googled, is it real or scripted or real or staged?
And one of the things they mentioned was that the winner got 40 pounds.
And he's, like, if it was scripted, I would have demanded snacks.
I thought that was funny.
I saw at the end of alone they trick the winner into thinking like it's just another med check
and so they'll tell them like on they'll be like we're med check today but really they're
the last one in and they're like coming in to get them and they always like have a family member
surprise them and like sometimes one one dude like had barely won like it was between him and
this other guy who was going to leave first and he he was just a shell of his former self like
shriveled up and like when his wife and the cameras showed up and he realized he won he was like
did anybody bring food he's like he's like asking his wife he's like did you have food
do you have food and she's like I didn't bring food and he's like we have to get food
idiots how do they not bring food Taylor if I'm in that scenario and they're like
you're going to be the one to let Taylor know he's he survived the 78 days in the wilderness
I'm like all right well we got to show up with some crab you know that right like
Like, we got to show up with some hot, steaming crab for the man.
Like, should we shell them?
No, no.
He'll want to do that.
He'll want to do that.
Don't take that from him.
Kyle, couldn't a charcutory board travel better than buttered crab?
Grab, I said.

Moblad, new season is now streaming on Paramount Plus.
It's rare.
Thanks all d'urbs.
I don't think he's picky today.
No, I wouldn't be picky at all.
There was this one dude.
I like being able to sit there eating snacks,
judging heavily,
watching the TV where like this dude is like,
it'll say like,
John hasn't consumed protein in 11 days.
And he's like,
I just kill the muskrat.
You know,
I think as long as I cut these glands out of the back of it,
I can just cook the shit out of it and be fine.
And he like is eating it.
And he's like,
I feel energized again.
I think this is going to get me through tomorrow.
And then it says like 2 a.m.
And he's like, oh, why are we so bad at eating things?
But these guys are just bad at it.
And then the good, I feel bad for something.
Because every once in a while, there's a dude who like in the little intros,
I'm like, this guy's going to be a warrior.
He clearly gained weight.
He's got expertise.
He's like a pro quote unquote like primitive survivalist who isn't just like a
brings half of REI with him and then survives.
and like every once in a while
those guys like there was this
younger guy who had gained a bunch of weight
and he had like just killed
something and then he fell
like day two
on his own like broadhead
arrow and it stabbed like
four inches into his leg
and he was like
day fucking two man
I'm so ready for this
and I just injured my I can't believe
this other old guy like he had
like just scouted out his exactly where he
going to hunt. He's like, this is a perfect marshy land. You can see the tracks here of the,
the deer walking through. This is going to be perfect. And then he like just broke his knee and
ankle, like walking amongst shale. And he was like, like, yelling and like angry. But by the time
they got there to him, he's like, how about this, huh? Find a hunting spot. Gain 30 pounds. I'm ready.
Break my fucking ankle on day two. Day two. And it's like, now you just have to go home and lose
way with no money.
The reason I don't judge
them is this experience. It was the survival
trip. Kyle and I went. It was the one that wings
didn't go on. And it was
late at night. I don't know. I'll call it like 1 a.m.
or something. And I'm hungry. I didn't bring
any food. And Kyle had brought
like tea. And
maybe he had a sugar cube or a sugar
packet or something like that,
but it was something. And
I started a fire and we heat up
the water and I have tea and it's like
these are the calories I need.
It had been 12 hours.
We had from dinner to breakfast.
We had a big breakfast.
I'm not even joking.
Huge breakfast.
We stopped at like a country restaurant, like gas station, bait store.
And they had, we, I remember I had like gravy and biscuits and bacon, like, lots of fat and carbs.
Just drinking.
tea.
It's dark.
We're shivering around a fire.
I'm vomiting foam in the dark.
You'd really just missed one meal.
It wasn't a lot.
It wasn't a lot.
But we're going to all the way to nighttime.
I was starting to get shaky.
I know.
In a zombie apocalypse, I'm in trouble by morning.
If we have to live in that wilderness, we are.
Fuck that.
Yeah, it was hard.
If the zombie apocalypse happens, I'm not going to the Uari National Wilderness.
all right
it sucks
it's tough
poison water
and elusive turtles
those turtles
they're dodgy
yeah I don't think
I would do
the
the best person
on the whole alone show
that I can like
predict now
because I've seen enough of it
is a guy who comes in
and is like
my number one thing
is a safe secure shelter
because they're all doing
it in like northern Canada
and the fall
so they do have to be prepared
for winter
But then a dude will like spend two to three weeks building a castle or a legit log cabin.
And then like he'll just show up the next time he's there, 40 pounds lighter, like looking emaciated and being like, I think it's about time to start setting traps and looking for food.
And it's like this guy's done.
Like you're already done.
You just are leaving a really cool thing for someone to find in five years and be like, oh, neat.
I've watched enough to have the same observation.
A structure of some sort, it is critical.
It may even be paramount.
It's the one.
But you can't build a castle.
You have to start splitting your efforts.
They do upgrade it throughout the whole thing, though.
Like, man, it's getting breezy through this.
I'm going to upgrade my door to be something better, et cetera, et cetera.
But, yeah, you can't just put all your eggs in one basket.
You lose.
Yeah, the smart ones do what you're saying, where it evolves over time,
but they immediately start fishing.
And then sometimes it doesn't seem.
The most rigged thing I can tell in alone isn't even necessarily like a deliberate rig.
It's just sometimes you'll see where someone was dropped and it's like, this is like a dream location.
And then the other one will be like on a cliff somewhere where the guy's like, all right, well, I can't build here because there's cracks everywhere.
And as soon as it snows, I'm going to break my leg falling in.
So I guess the first thing I'll do is track about a mile that way.
And it's like, that's thousands of calories that nobody else had to spend right away.
I think the cold weather stuff is just way beyond my expertise.
Like little things like how much to exert yourself.
Like I think that some people might not exert themselves enough.
And it's like if we were there like me and a partner,
dude, you got to hustle.
We've really got to get this fire started hours before it needs to be started.
You know, we need a reserve of wood.
And I'm hustling around and he's pacing himself.
And then I could imagine myself going too hard, getting sweaty.
and then that becoming a problem in the cold somehow.
And like meanwhile, he's over there just maintaining his body temperature working slow but steady.
And he's watching me shiver like idiot.
Like the cold weather stuff is so scary.
Also because what's that old, that old poem or short story maybe where the guys try to start a fire?
You ever read that?
I don't think so.
I don't remember.
It's about.
So I don't know that at the beginning of the story, this trapper, fisherman, outdoorsman falls into the water and gets soaked.
in the wilderness and the entire story he's trying to start a fire but his hands are numb and he's he's
like fumbling with the matches and dropping them in the snow and and then they keeps going out and it's
like the story is to start a fire because he's slowly dying as he struggles to start the fire it's
very good I read it in I don't know middle school or something like that that may have been part of
my homeschool curriculum I'm going to read it just a quick thing if anyone else wants to read it
it's to build a fire there you go yeah I'm
You have me really curious.
That sounds like something I'd like.
Yeah.
Oh, I was going to say cold weather seems like a knowledge check a lot of times.
Like how do you build a structure?
It's a lot of things that I don't know.
But I also found in watching enough of these shows that what's hard isn't what I thought it was.
I thought a desert would be incredibly tough.
But it turns out like the people who go to these desert environments don't struggle as much as I thought.
They do find water.
They find enough wood.
And they heat it and they drink.
in there okay.
I saw jungle one.
What could be easier?
Oh my gosh.
Is there a more food dense environment than a jungle or a tropical rainforest?
It turns out the bugs are murderous.
And there's like no plan you could have to defeat bugs.
How do you defend yourself while sleepy against bugs?
You can't really, the structures in trees didn't work.
The structures on the ground didn't work.
They were just getting eaten alive by bugs, unable to sleep, and then being unable to sleep, ruin them in a thousand other ways.
That was one of the harder environments.
I didn't see it coming.
Yeah.
The cold, like this northern Canada shit, seems like it could be amongst the hardest.
Because, like, every second of every day, you're burning extra calories just to keep your body temperature up.
Like, every night you're losing three days.
times as much as you would if you were like trying to survive on a beach somewhere in a tent
to there that would be brutal i i saw what's like calorie burning that's what that's what i need
except none of these people look like it turned it out of like 54 in here they don't look good afterward
it's like oh like they just look ghastly but there's i can i've also started to pick up that
when the people are like getting annoyed or angry over issues with survival that aren't integral like
I haven't had food in 10 days or like,
I can't get fire going.
Like,
there's this one dude who was like in like northern Canada where you wouldn't think
there was a ton of problems with mice.
Maybe he was in Mongolia or something,
some freezing fucking place.
And he was the only person in the entire show who was like,
he's like screaming every morning.
He's like really irritable.
He's like,
I feel like I'm doing all right.
Getting the food and the water.
My shelter's solid.
I can't get any fucking sleep.
Because every time I lay my hands.
head down. I hear all these little screeches and scratches
and these mice are in my fucking half. And like
every scene of his for like four episodes
he'd be like, I just killed a
just killed another grouse.
That'll be tasty tonight. Can't wait
to hear the fucking mice running around
in the middle of the night. Try to eat. And like he
they got like a can of bear spray and
this guy got so irate that he's like
I probably won't need this for bears. Fuck it. It'll be
fine. And he just like sprayed the
floor of his entire
living shelter and all the cracks
and everything with bear spray. He's like I got to be
out of there all day tomorrow or all day to day anyway.
Fuck you, mice. Fuck you.
And he's like,
that's going to kill you. He was like, I'm going to kill you.
And then I'll say that he like finished out all of his bear spray coating his
internal of the shelter like all the ground area.
He's like, that should get you. But if it doesn't,
and then he like got his bear horn and like lifted up his mattress and was like,
bark, bark,
he's like, fuck you.
Fuck all.
This guy is great.
I love it.
And he was like surviving pretty well.
It's just he was every single scene from it.
Everyone else is like, what a glorious wilderness.
I'm so blessed to be here.
Like, I miss my family.
Every morning it was him like setting up a camera like cock eyed and just screaming about mice.
And that was, that was great.
I also never realized how unappealing a mouse could be to eat after it's been crushed by those like Native American like drop traps.
Because you just find like a frozen mouse disc the next morning.
Like how do you even feel?
that. Yeah, these people were, like a couple of them were like losing so bad that they like were
crying after catching a mouse. And it's like, you need to go home. Like you're, you're not going to,
if you're like weeping over a mouse, meanwhile, three miles that way, this lunatic is like angry and
killing wolverines because it stole eight pounds of moose from him. Like, now he's down to 112 pounds.
Yeah. There's a, there's a really good movie called Never Cry Wolf. And it's about this
Canadian, I think he's a biologist or something, and he sent into the Canadian Arctic, or
wilderness rather, to find out if wolves are responsible for the declining caribou population and if
they should therefore be exterminated in that region. And he gets there and he finds that the wolves
are actually subsisting almost entirely on mice. They have this, in this region, they have
this hunting technique and the marshlands, and they do this pounce thing, and they're eating mice.
And he's watching them, and he's, and they don't believe him, though, and he's worried that
he's worried about the wolves he's been living amongst them almost sort of in his research
outpost for for a while and so to prove that a large mammal can live on mice one day it sort of
occurs to him and he starts eating mice his cabin is full of mice they have been bothering him
just like your guy this whole time and all of a sudden he becomes the predator and he's just like
grabbing them and there's this montage of him just like oh this like this eating them all and like
There's like shit spraying out of them.
And like he cooks them,
but they still kind of pop and goof comes out.
And like he's just on a,
on a mission,
just living on nothing but mice.
And he's a grown man.
So he eats his cabin free of mice.
Like he does not need a cat.
You need hundreds.
Tonight,
Jackie made me something new for dinner.
And she was like,
what'd you think?
What'd you think?
What'd you think?
I really appreciate it.
But I think once is perfect.
Now,
after all this mice talking like I should apologize or something what did you make it was some sort of like chicken squash really
the same seasoning it kind of seemed like a brown mush but I didn't like the consistency or the taste very much
well those are two integral parts of eating the consistency and the taste yeah I don't like squash at all
I don't do squash.
It's fine.
I'm never going to be like excited for squash though.
I don't know the last time I ate a squash and I'm not entirely sure I ever have.
Like if you put a gun to my head and you have like a genie there, have you ever devoured a squash?
Fuck.
I don't know.
I don't think so because I don't like them, but that might just be in my head.
There's lots of things I don't like.
I haven't tried.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There's just not much to them.
and they're always like
there's not enough rigor
to the inside of them
yeah like no matter how you cook it
the inside just gets too much
like in southern food
it's usually squash casserole
that's how I know squash
and it's just mush
I don't want that
or any vegetable for that matter
I don't know
you can make regular vegetables good
as long as you roast them
garlic and seasoning and whatnot
better than rats
but I've been like
potatoes and potatoes
I really enjoy why
watching these survival shows like while snacking and like backseat driving and being like,
yeah, I think I'd be, I could handle it.
See, this is interesting.
It's like when I'm when I'm cutting calories and I or even if I'm fasting and I'm really hungry,
I do a, I do, I fast for like one day a week every week.
And I'm kind of a pussy about it.
I don't know, I don't know if you ever do 24 hour fast, but around hour 18, you're like,
man, I really want something.
And like, so I'll watch like cooking shows because that's my way of like,
like maintaining my fast or my calorie deficit is like we're going to eat that when we're done.
Let's research what we will eat when we can eat.
And I'll go down this like that's how I end up making so many delicious meals is like I haven't eaten for 24 hours.
And I'm like chicken parmesan.
I spared no expense.
I've been brining this all day, cooking, researching how I'm going to make it.
I was like hour 18 of my weekly fast, I start to want food.
12 hours into our survival trip.
it's life or death for me.
Yeah.
It's not even cold out.
It was drizzling.
It was yucky.
That is like,
that's how I actually insert myself into those shows is like,
just like, like pinching your thumb really nasty
between like two logs of wood you're trying to assemble on like hour six being like,
what am I doing?
some there's some rambo out there i've got no shot i'm i'm going home you know you know what i'll do
i'll stay here for a cool week to lose some weight until i get moderately uncomfortable and then i'll
go home like you said my favorite part of that show in particular the the fake netflixy one that i ended up
despising because they were stealing from each other in that con but i really like the people who would
come in talking big and bad like yeah i'm in this for the long haul you don't understand what this money
means to me. I wasn't raised
with a silver spoon in my mouth. This is
my entire existence. My
children will die if I don't
if I don't win this show. Like shit like that
and you're like, whoa, my money's
on Mark. He needs this.
It's like a six days in
and like Mark is like,
you know, I just, like they were saying,
my family really needs me.
You know, back home. They need me there
earning zero dollars. They really
do. Like no, they don't
dude. What the fuck it? Or they like, they like,
lead in with like irrelevance where they're like you know I was just thinking today while I wasn't
eating it's my daughter's birthday in 10 months
mating made it part of the beast is the must-see adventure of the year it's just you and me boy
one of the most extraordinary on-screen branch you'll ever see I'll get you home
Brad Pitt part of the beast September 25th get tickets now
I really need to I'm missing a lot of 34
These are years I can't get back.
She turns 31 in April.
Sweet 35th back.
That's another like indicator is the guy,
anytime they start talking about their families,
I'm like, this guy's,
like this guy's done.
He's talking about his family.
Meanwhile, the guy with the,
with the moose and the wolverine,
all his little asides,
it's just him being like,
you know,
I'm really just buckling up,
preparing for boredom now. I've got more food than any other person has ever had in the 10 seasons
of this game. As long as I can protect it, I'm fine. If I've been bored before, I'm fine being
alone. So, you know, buckle up. And it's like, all right, this guy's going to obviously win.
Slammed down.
What about the one guy who quit on the grounds of moral objection? Now, like I said, that lady
stealing and like straight up being in like men's faces like hit me. Go ahead. You'll just get in trouble.
like that would have that would have pushed me too far i i'd just be her up i think i probably would
have like especially in that kind of a i'm watching it home and i'm losing my temper if i was out there
and i had earned that food i know i would lose my temper and hit that woman but like this other guy
was like after seeing that today i just don't think i want to be part of something like this you know
like that really rubbed me the wrong way that's just that's not what the game is about you know
I don't even want to be part of something that's like that.
Now, I kind of understand that sentiment, but we're here already.
Remember your family needs you and like little Billy with the gimpy leg and so on and so forth.
No, I'm staying.
I'm staying once I'm here.
Like so many of those guys checking out after there.
And I get it.
Like once you're there, it's a lot different.
Even on our trip, it was like, just like, not like we were talking shit going in,
but like I had a feeling of confidence going in.
Like, we'll be fine.
You know, we'll find some birds or, or,
Or like, and then you were that guy going,
ugh,
then it's dark and you're vomiting foam into the night.
And then the way that they like rationalize it where like it'll be a dude like eating rats and like not cooking it enough.
And then the next morning,
their framing is always like,
I knew I could survive to be defeated by my own body.
It's like, no, you ate five uncooked rats last night like a demon.
I'm like, that's what the problem.
You were talking about that annoying lady in Outlast.
There was another one that I saw where it was basically they also were in Northern Canada,
even though it was different show.
And the teams were on different sides of a river.
And there was like a very small island in the middle of this river.
And they hid supplies on it where it was like crab traps.
And the production like told them like, hey, you know, if you guys haven't started building the boat,
maybe you should because one of your teams is going to get these and be catching 30 pounds of crab a day.
That's going to be a big advantage.
And this one girl on the team, on one team had already started building a boat, kind of a crappy little boat,
but before the challenge had been announced.
And on her team, like, they were having a discussion of like, who should be the one to, like,
paddle this out there.
There's a pretty rough current.
And she was, like, throwing a tantrum being like, it was my idea to build the boat.
And so I should get to pilot it.
And one of the other guys on their team, he was like, you know, I'm a commercial fisherman,
but growing up, I'm really comfortable on the water.
I'm 100% positive that, you know, I can make it.
I can get the crab pots on there.
I can get them back.
You know, I just really think we're making a big mistake sending Trixie out there.
But she just kept like wailing about it.
It was my idea.
And so finally they were like, fine.
And so they let her take off.
She gets over there, finds some, loads it up, starts coming back.
takes way too long, gets caught in the current,
and is getting swept out to sea.
So she's eliminated.
They have to call in the coast guard to come rescue her.
And it shows the other team on there where they're like,
like the other three guys are like,
we lost our boat.
And the guy who would have been able to handle it just fine was like,
she also took every one of our dry bags.
So she just ruined their whole team's chances.
Didn't the guy who could actually do shit then?
like make like a raft out of like a coat and some sticks and go get them.
Something like that.
And I remember mixing up two different boat stories here.
But I remember the girl who just got swept out to see where the guys on their team were
being encouraging like, you got it.
You got it.
And over time those cries.
She wasn't athletic.
They're like, you got it.
Come on.
She's getting really far away, dude.
There's no chance.
Come on.
Like she wasn't even athletic.
Like she needed to be worked.
She needed big like athletic shoulder pumping.
nonstop action to not get swept away.
You needed not just any man,
but a fit waterman to make this thing happen.
And she was the level of fitness
that get swept out to see and dies.
And he was the level of fitness
that goes and saves the team.
And in a real survival situation,
you slap that bitch.
And you're like, my boat now.
You got up or you won't get into the crap.
And that's it.
That's the end of the story.
Like, go get some rocks.
We'll need them for the fire later.
because I'm going to be cold when I get back.
I'm going to be cold when I get your crap pots in the water.
Have a fire waiting.
You're going to dry my clothes.
Like that's what actually happens.
I bet she's perfectly talented at drying clothes on a hot rock.
Don't get the rocks from the fucking, you know, bank of the river.
She gets the wrong rocks.
See, me and you know.
Do you know what the rocks?
You can't get the rocks in the river.
They explode.
Yeah.
Oh, the hot rocks.
The rocks in the river?
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
If you heat them up, they blow up, sure.
Everybody knows about the exploding rocks.
See, that's the kind of shit I'm talking about.
He didn't know about this floating rocks.
That's what would have actually.
Heeded the rocks up and blinded him.
The best thief I saw on Outlast was this dude who was like,
it's time to start playing dirty.
And he just was like sitting there with binoculars looking across a river,
waiting for the other team to go out and hunt.
And he's like, now's my time.
And he gets on this garbage raft, goes across the whole way,
steals all of their sleeping bags.
And then as he's like trying to escape with this big bag like a cartoon burglar,
basically full of sleeping bags.
The other team comes back and they catch him
and they like start surrounding him and he's like laying under leaves by a tree
and then he's like filming himself still and they're like,
if you don't come out, we're going to pop all the intertubes on your raft.
He's like, oh fuck.
And then they pop all the inner tubes and it just shows him being like,
guess I'm in here for the night.
And then he's like nine hours later.
He's like sneaking out with this big bag and he's like,
so I knew I only had one option.
I was going to just lay on the raft and then kick.
It's cold as hell in there, but I did it.
And so he's just like emerging like naked and frozen from the river.
And meanwhile, the other team's like, we have to tap.
He stole all our stuff.
Like we'll freeze to death if we don't get out of here.
Slow it all.
Like it was very sneaky.
But that's not survival.
That's not a good show.
I want survival.
It's not good viewing.
Like you don't want that to happen to even the character in the show you don't like.
You don't want them to lose because.
because they got cheated.
You know, like it's nonsense.
And I think the producers got,
I think that it happened and there was no way to go back.
They were like, uh, what do we do now?
It's so stupid.
So stupid letting them rob each other,
but not defend themselves somehow.
I don't even understand that.
That show pissed me off.
I specifically remember being so mad at that show.
Yeah, that was the shitty one.
Alone is better.
I need to find another one,
another good survival type show.
That's not the classic.
everyone knows like man versus wild or survivor man.
Yeah.
Between those, everybody knows Survivor Man is the is the one to go for.
He's.
I do like Survivor Man.
That was a, I felt like he had the integrity to keep it real.
And sometimes he failed too, which was kind of, you'd think that'd be bad for the show,
but it was actually good letting them that failure can't happen.
Lent credence to his real ones because it was like, oh, okay, clearly, you know,
and they wouldn't be showing this.
I've said this about every drama ever, but it's like, you've got to kill me.
main characters. If you don't start
killing main characters, then I know that all the
dangers you put them in are fake and not a problem.
And when Rick dies and Walking
Dead, kind of, I'm like, all right,
no one's safe. I like this. Now, now I'm
a little more engaged because no one's safe.
Yeah. I'm glad
he didn't get his movie.
Andrew Lincoln, got to plays Rick.
Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah. What are you doing?
That show's still on in
some of the greatest. Let me explain something about
walking dead. So I'm not into it. I haven't watched
it in many, many years, not since we used
to talk about it and love it.
There aren't, it's not only is it still going.
There's like three or four shows.
And they're all like heading their way
to getting interwoven back again.
What they did is they had the big show
and they got too big for their bridges
and they were like, oh, one show is too few shows.
We could branch this off and make it all of these spin-off shows
and they get all,
Darrell can have his own show and Michone can have her own show
and Rick can have a show.
And it's not going great.
And they're going to, we're going to,
them back together. They're going to end up right back
where they were again. There's three shows
right now. One star is Daryl
and Carol. The other stars Rick and Michone
and the other stars Maggie and
Negan. And I don't know how
good they are. I saw the Rick and Michone one.
That's it. I've seen
clips of them and they see honestly
if I've seen those clips. They look
good to me. It's more of the same. Of course.
You always get to the new
settlement, the new big bad guy
who has things under the phone.
and it's oppressive and then they seem too good to be true because they are and then we got to
get away i'm okay with that though that's kind of that's probably what would happen in a post-apocalypse
kind of situation i like i haven't seen those shows but i've seen a lot of clips from them they seem
pretty good they seem pretty good uh walking dead just lost me so long ago when they killed off carl and
rick left the show and then been a long time it was just a bad show my mind keeps spitting on that
woman that was sucked out to see because that almost happened to me a few times and uh
How far out did she get?
Was she like being, there was a boat, like a safety boat there all the time?
They basically, she hadn't even like reached the sea yet.
She was just, they kind of let her get swept away by the river until it was almost like a, you've forfeited.
Like you're not going to get off.
You're not going to walk a mile back, you know, you're not going to even be off here in a mile.
Like you lose.
Like your only option would be to get out and swim.
Then you're going to be hypothermic.
So like they just pulled up to it.
her and waited and watched her drift away and they just waited for her to go, I tap, I give up,
I'm out. And then they just pulled right up and grabbed her.
I had this time. I was surfing with my friends and one friend actually. And the surf was big.
It was big enough that Ocean City wasn't really surfable. So we went to Atlantic City,
which could handle bigger waves. And we were by this inlet. We weren't super familiar with this
beach. But as the tide goes lower, all the water from the bay rushes like in between,
between the space between the islands and pulls people out the sea.
Cool.
Well, when you're surfing, you kind of just sit there doing nothing for a few minutes,
waiting for the biggest of the waves, the set waves to roll in and you catch those.
And while that happens, like, you know, it's usually like five, 15 minutes in between sets.
But 15, 20 minutes goes by and all of a sudden it's like, holy smokes, we're out too far.
This is a problem.
So we're paddling in.
And it's me and another lifeguard.
And we're in like really good shape.
And in my head, I'm like, both of us are more than capable of handling this situation.
It's going to be fine.
And I'm paddling in.
I'm paddling in.
And I'm gaping my friend.
And it's like, you can't do this?
You're the guy we call when people are here.
You're supposed to be able to do this.
But it was a lot.
So I would like sit still and like as he caught up to me.
But of course, I'm losing ground over the bottom.
And then I'd paddle with him again.
I didn't leave him behind.
But like,
We're not making progress.
He's kind of standing still in this thing.
So then I come up with a plan.
I'm like,
here's how it's going to work.
I'm going to paddle away from you.
And when you can just reach like my ankle or my leash,
there's a leash that connects your ankle to your surfboard
in case you fall off,
it stays nearby.
And you grab it.
You pull yourself in the lead.
Like you can imagine doing that swimming,
like grabbing my ankle,
pulling yourself in front.
And I'll pass you again.
And we keep doing that until you don't need my help anymore.
And that's how he got in.
He just kept grabbing my leash,
pull it in front and then I would pass him again and we kept we like leapfrogged until we made it out of into safety.
I'd be pretty annoyed if I were you.
I'd be like this was your idea, bro.
Like that guy, he treated me.
Dude, when I was a lifeguard, I wasn't as popular as I wish I was.
And he had social clout.
And like he was that guy who was like, you're all saying what he's not cool.
I think he's cool.
And it's like, he saved my life.
He saved my life.
He went first for what it's worth.
You know, it was like, he put himself out there and there was no advantage to being nice to me.
I was a rookie.
Like, everyone was mean to me.
It was kind of pile on the Woody.
And he made up his own opinion.
So I was more than happy to help him get back to land.
Where were you when I was being swept to sea?
I know where Woody was.
He was right in front of me, and then right behind me, and then right in front of me, and then right behind me.
He told the story that way.
I had to drag Woody the whole way back.
He had to do this thing where you grab my leash, he like dipped himself ahead and then, oh, God.
I feel like I explained it twice.
We were neck and neck the whole way back.
What are you talking about, Woody?
Actually, you guys were twice.
We traded leads, right?
Yeah.
No, he was a good egg.
He was, he was, he's good character, although it was better if I pulled out the swimmers.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'd, I'd prefer a real gruff lifeguard who I'm confident in than like lifeguard Mr. Friendly.
Who like, I'm like, you know, I'm no expert, but we're not getting closer.
And like, I'm seeing multiple restaurants.
I didn't see when we started, which means we're going to sweat that with it.
So we're probably an up shit creek.
But yeah, I'm going to, I'm going to watch more survival shows later this evening.
and I'm going to start boning up on my how to all all the locations are northern Canada for some reason
like it's all northern Canada there was one Mongolia season but like it was like why pick Mongolia as
the different one right still fucking freezing and there's caribou and moose and like bears and shit like
it's the most is production costs are reasonable in northern Canada right there's a lot of
filming that happens in southern Canada excuse me and uh you know so it's not too far bridged across to go another
move 300 miles away and you're there.
But why was Mongolia the other choice?
I have no idea.
It seems like a miserable place to try and survive.
There's no like ocean to mediate the weather.
And so it's just constant up and down nonsense.
It's like the Midwest of the fucking amazing.
There's nothing good about Mongolia for filming.
Like if you break a lab mic and need a replacement,
I don't know where in Mongolia you go for another lab mic.
Like you got a problem.
All right, Mike, send the falcon.
We need a loud, right?
Something like that.
Those problems get solved in Canada pretty quickly, but in Mongolia.
Yeah, when they extracted people from Canada, they would send like a chopper, a little personal helicopter.
Every time they extracted someone from Mongolia, it was this weird giant yellow tank thing,
like all-terrain like tank vehicle that was driving across.
I thought it would be a bush plane.
That was where I thought you were going.
Okay.
Yeah, I don't know why.
Maybe there's no airports there.
Were there like wet marshy lands?
Yeah, it was kind of a mix.
But it was so cold, like everything was like frosting and freezing pretty early on.
In Alaska, they use light planes with really big bouncy tires that can land on non-air strips.
Yeah.
Must be a Mongolia unique restriction.
But anyway, Bologna's a good show.
Outlast sucks.
Don't waste time with that, anyone.
So bad.
All right.
Yeah, there it is.
Oh, I thought the show ended up.
I was like, what just happened?
We didn't say goodbye.
We normally do.
I got it was all mixed up.
All right.
You guys ready to wrap?
Yes, sir.
All right.
