Starting point is 00:00:00 now we're live episode 96 all right it takes an indeterminate amount of time after that button press dude i have been having imaginary conversations about this orlando shooting in my head i'm a huge fan of the imaginary conversation in the shower especially when i manufacture no i wasn't gonna say i'm a huge fan of the Orlando incident. I thought that's what you were saying. It's been a while. The news coverage has just been riveting. I don't think that anyone would have taken my side on that.
Starting point is 00:00:36 But I love having fake arguments with myself about often ridiculous things in the shower. Like I'll manufacture situations in which someone cuts me in line at a grocery store and then it's like oh oh so this is how you live your life this is what you do this is the way you treat people and it's like i have those who are you beating who are you competing with here taylor like dude you're just yelling in the shower my imaginary victim often falls right into my rhetorical traps they're never a stand-up comic though as a stand-up comic who has that pre-rolled bit to attack anyone who's going to give him shit, a heckler or anything. So yeah, if the guy steps on my toe, I have something to say to him now.
Starting point is 00:01:14 So you're not tripping over your words or anything. You get your point out and you don't seem like an asshole. Well, sometimes you want to seem like an asshole and you want to do it really well. But it would never happen that way in real life. Sometimes you want to seem like an asshole, and you want to do it really well. Yes. You want to be a giant asshole. In real life. You could have the sharpest, quickest comeback for somebody stepping on your toes, but then when it happens in real life, if you do say anything, which is like a 5% chance, it's going to be like, oh, look at this goober over here stepping on your toes.
Starting point is 00:01:41 What was the jerk store called? And all out of you. That's all right, because you're their all-time bestseller. You're right. Yeah, well, I had sex with your wife. Okay. Back to the tragedy. Yeah, this isn't how I expected the Orlando conversation to go.
Starting point is 00:02:01 You got to ease people in. You got to ease them in. So, yeah, worst shooting in uh american history worst uh mass shooting um i think it's definitely an act of terror there's a lot of stuff that's come out so um the guy um was not only gay it seems now it seems that it seems that he was uh self-loathing homosexual who was in a in a straight married relationship that's how i knew he was republican he's a democrat registered democrat i'm just teasing because he's that's from the other side of the aisle all the time right like yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:02:29 they spend a like a lifetime passing like anti-gay legislation and then they turn out gay like well this guy registered democrat he was all for the uh the gay rights i guess um he was a security uh officer of some kind he had been for like four years, since 2011, somewhere in there. He used a Sig Sauer semi-automatic carbine with a scope to do the shooting. It was called like an MKS or an MKC or something, wasn't it? You know, I'm not a real expert with Sig. They don't like me very much, so I don't really shoot their stuff. Someone called it an AR-15 variant.
Starting point is 00:03:05 Is it? She called it an AR-15, but it's not a single component on the SIG is compatible with an AR-15. I've shot, if I recall correctly, an ACR, a SCAR, and an M4 AR-15, and they all kind of handle the same to me. Would you say this one is one of those?
Starting point is 00:03:25 Yeah, light recoil, very controllable, incredibly accurate, reliable, high rate of fire. It still shoots like the 5.56. There's a.308 Vert. I think that the one he had, you can change it to at least three calibers, probably 5.56, 7.62x51, or maybe.300 Blackout. I'm not really sure most likely the chances are that yeah it was 5'5 6 it was 2'23
Starting point is 00:03:49 I'm interested to find out so I'm when I have conversations in my head about this they are not delicate at all and I try to tone it down a bit for the rest of the world so that I don't have to worry about offending yourself. Yeah, but he got a lot of kills.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Like 50 kills from one guy is a ton. And I almost don't know how that happened, right? Can I add something to that then? There's one of the survivors has been all over the news talking about how he held the door shut behind him and how he just didn't know if it was people. He's like, I just hope it wasn't people trying to get out who were pounding on that door.
Starting point is 00:04:32 And it's like, of course! It was the people trying to get out! The other people are the ones with the guns! Like, he totally held the door shut and locked it behind him or whatever and then people died. That's part of what happened. He's said it several times now. It's a known factor. totally held the door shut um and locked it behind him or whatever and then people die that's that's oh my god are you serious said it several times on um now like it's it's a known factor yeah i i
Starting point is 00:04:50 heard something about that but i i was reading it on my phone and i got the vibe it was an accomplice not like a victim making sure that my side of the door was this guy this guy is like relaying his experience of holding the door shut on the news. They're like, what happened? And he's like, hold the door. Like, this guy went, oh, door on this. Got freaked out. Maybe, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:17 But he totally, people died because he held that door almost certainly. It's awful. And, you know, I've been. It kills so much, though. Like, so a magazine holds 30 right i assume he has a regular size magazine um he must have reloaded a couple times was he getting collaterals sounds insensitive i get that but in that environment i can see how you might call what'd you say it's just probably probably could probably call it something
Starting point is 00:05:41 different but yeah the bullets that he's shooting are almost certainly passing through one individual and going into the next. And with a rifle cartridge, the rounds fragment, they pass through things, they cause massive internal damage. If you're shot in the stomach or the chest or the head, you're just going almost certainly to die from a rifle wound, especially when you're one of 40, 50 people who are shot and you've all got to be taken care of. I mean, arm wounds and leg wounds are incredibly traumatic from those things. And then there were another 53 injuries. Oh, and I also think I want...
Starting point is 00:06:17 So I've been wondering in my head, how many did this guy kill, right? Some of them could have been friendly fire because the SWAT team busted in there. It's at least 50 now. 49. 49 it is. is yeah 50 counted him so that was a surprise to me like oh he doesn't count as a death he's a that's a win but um so there were 49 victims how many were like trampling victims how many were victims of the SWAT team shot because that's what I was thinking. It's trampling. It's just a lot of kills for one guy to pull off. I think you're looking at mostly gunshot wounds because the trampling, I don't know, to death.
Starting point is 00:06:54 In big crowds, like in arenas, people get crushed to death and suffocated. But I don't know. I bet a lot of those injuries could probably be related to the trampling. But also, I mean, I'm telling you, when you fire a bullet, it doesn't stop for a while. It goes through a couple of things. And the third thing it goes into, maybe it only goes in this far, but it's going into a third thing.
Starting point is 00:07:16 And if you're in just a home building type environment, it's a terrible thing that happened. I really am sickened by when I see the people that are using it politically. I mean, it's kind of clear-cut. There shouldn't be any manipulation or adulteration to the facts here. It's clear what happened. The guy called 911 to pledge his allegiance to ISIS right before he does this. It's like there wasn't even a five minute period on Twitter of honesty afterward. It was immediately trying to cover on behalf of things and misconstrue what's happening and what the real motivations are. And it's like, are you that afraid of finding out what happened? It's very confusing to me.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Preemptively defending things. You guys are saying this is clear cut, this is simple, etc. The fact that he was gay, and we didn't mention it on the show, but he was a regular patron of this place. A lot of people knew him. Apparently, he's usually in a very good mood. I read that on the internet, but I've never seen him at that particular gay club. Not that one, anyway. I read it on
Starting point is 00:08:15 CNN, so I'm counting it as true. Things are still coming out, and CNN gets shit wrong. CNN gets shit wrong. I actually go to CNNnn is my like msnbc if i want or huff poe if you want the democrat stuff fox if you want the republican stuff cnn to me is kind of my try to get it right but not always used to be it used to be i i don't feel like this election cycle there there be there is fair no they lean left absolutely well anyway
Starting point is 00:08:43 for me personally they're the ones i go to when I try to get a no spin. You know, whatever. You feel ganged up on filthy? What's that? Going back into a corner filthy? Is that what's happening now? You feel a little ganged up on? You know what?
Starting point is 00:08:56 I don't appreciate this, Kyle. I think I'm being really brave here, standing up to you guys. And it's a shame. A shame that you do this to me. I don't understand what's happening. up to you guys and it's a shame a shame I don't understand what's happening I got that much yeah I'd love to circle back and talk about the filthy thing but anyway the CNN said that that he was a
Starting point is 00:09:22 regular patron at this place so oh and by the way he pledged allegiance to ISIS, but I'm also reading he pledged allegiance to Hezbollah and Al-Qaeda as well. I think what he did, it wasn't that he pledged allegiance necessarily to Al-Qaeda. He was saying that some bomber who was an Al-Qaeda bomber, he was saying that the Tsarnaev brothers, he was
Starting point is 00:09:46 like, oh yeah, they did a good thing. He was singling out anybody who's done some terror against the United States and saying, ups to them. I don't think he's getting into the interior power struggles of the global terror networks. He just likes what they do. He's a football fan, right? He likes the Patriots. He likes
Starting point is 00:10:01 the Broncos. Whatever happens, happens. He wants to see some football play. I guess there are some people who want to be like, this was an ISIS act. And it's like, well, ISIS has a loose structure. I get that. But let's just, you know, like if I go and pop around into someone's head and say, I'm ISIS, am I really? I declare ISIS! Right? But that's where he was. No, you I'm ISIS. Am I really? I DECLARE ISIS! Right?
Starting point is 00:10:27 But that's where he was. No, you're not ISIS. It's like this. Let's say some person in Soviet Russia that doesn't exist anymore goes and says, you know, this is for capitalism, and he shoots a lot of guys. Well, you know, maybe he says, yeah, and the CIA did this thing in Afghanistan and they wiped you out and blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:10:47 Well, of course, he's not a member of the CIA. But he's definitely fighting for American capitalism against Soviet communism. That's for sure. No, he doesn't work for the CIA. All the CIA is probably standing back going, oh, yeah, he killed a bunch of people. Good. Yeah, we don't like them people. You know, like, I think that's what we're looking at here.
Starting point is 00:11:05 No, nobody in ISIS headquarters, which I imagine is like a big turban wrapped head that opens up with an evil boardroom. I don't think anybody there was like, yeah. It happened on what, like a Saturday night? I picture him the Saturday night before
Starting point is 00:11:20 he's dancing at the club, picking up other gay dudes. He was there with his wife, scoping the place out. I'm hearing he's dancing at the club picking up other gay dudes then he was he was there with his wife scoping the place out well i'm hearing he's a regular patron and popular amongst some people like they recognized and knew him his wife says they were there scoping the place out and she was there when he bought the ammunition the scope and she knew what happened also he sold his house to his sister for ten dollars uh last month um i feel like look if i sell you my house for ten dollars we're gonna have a conversation about why and where i'm gonna be like oh can i interest
Starting point is 00:11:53 you in 70 virgins would you look i i got no i don't need this fucking house anymore all right just trust me you you take the just sign the paper yeah questions asked you like hey i need to talk to you about my friend kyle yeah ten dollars can you do not writing was on the wall and that lady his wife just didn't say anything to anyone she knew about all the she knew that was going to happen and she didn't say anything like i agree i think this is a uh an act some of this is new to me like i i hadn't heard the selling the house thing before and i'm not saying you're wrong i just i don't. I hadn't heard the selling the house thing before. I'm not saying you're wrong. I just, I don't know. I hadn't heard the house thing as well, but that is interesting.
Starting point is 00:12:31 And that is, that's beyond the pale. That's so indicative of something shady about to go down. Also, I saw something online that this guy was already being investigated by the FBI multiple times. Yeah, I didn't want to talk this out. They had interviewed him. They had spoken to him. There was a time when he was under enhanced surveillance, but that had expired, yes.
Starting point is 00:12:51 So he was able to get a gun even though he was under FBI surveillance. And a lot of people say, okay, there's a line we can draw, right? We can prevent people who are under FBI surveillance from getting guns. Poor Hillary. She can't get one now, right? Well, you should be able to. If you can run for president under FBI investigation, getting guns. Poor Hillary. She can't get one now, right? Well, you should be able to run for president under FBI investigation. You can buy a gun. I just worry.
Starting point is 00:13:10 So laws have to pass the test. You should be able to give bad leaders this structure and still be happy with it. I like Obama. I mostly trust him. I'm a pro-Obama guy. I am. If this rule was given to Obama, I believe it would only impact the sorts of people that you want it to impact, I think. Other people might feel differently. But the rule needs to be good enough that it can't be abused, because there's going to be someone elected who I hate. I didn't like W. I thought W was dreadful.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Like when he was doing all those signing statements, changing the laws, like just passing this part of this one, but not part of that one. And I was like, he had broken records for that. And I thought, well, this is a power that you can't give bad leaders because he wasn't my guy.
Starting point is 00:14:01 Circling back, when you say, hey, the government can just pick anyone or any group of people or anything and say now they don't have gun rights yeah then that's a scary thing suspend their rights based on an arbitrary process known as fbi investigation what does that even fucking mean does that mean that does that mean that like you know we sign a piece of paper who signs that piece of paper is it some low-level guy in my district who can sign that piece of paper i guarantee it is who then decides whether you you have this right or that right it's not innocent until proven guilty right like you know that now obama i don't think would do this and probably
Starting point is 00:14:38 not even trump or hillary or whatever but you see now kyle doesn't have the same trust for him that i do i respect that but i don't trust either of the three you know there's someone running in the future who i don't know yet who might be like you know what all plane owners can't have guns it's just too effective a combination and then they'll say all drone owners and then they'll say like all people who belong to weightlifting clubs and like, who knows what's next? I don't know. You know, all strong. I like that. You can get out of here. That's the thing, though. And already that's a poignant point about Sanders that I didn't like the whole time that nobody would talk about is it's like, yeah, we want big central government. This guy, we want basically Sanders to be the most powerful president with the most authority ever
Starting point is 00:15:25 Of any president because we're gonna make the government larger and he's gonna have more influence and it's like okay Assuming he's the purest, you know white lamb of all time He might doesn't abuse any of the power and takes care of it perfectly is always looking out for people's best interest in his Understanding that's great. What about the guy after him? What about the guy after him? It's what if you don't like them as much now you've pretty much dug yourself a hole because you know joe blow after sanders decides this is pretty great i got grandfathered into all this authority and i have different opinions or if you give uh chancellor sanders enough power maybe he's got enough power to say you know what three terms this time around we'll end it in four more years and then you know
Starting point is 00:16:02 what a fourth term really is necessary with the war in Europe. I mean, we've got to conquer those poles before I leave office. And then, you know, the fifth. So when Bush was the W, W Bush was in power, he gave himself the right to declare martial law and keep everyone in their houses. Now, I got this off the Internet and I was younger and more naive at the time. I might have that fact wrong. But I'm on these woodworking forums and we're debating it. And the people who were Republican were like, dude, this is fine. This makes a lot of sense. There are situations where we could go to war and you just want Americans to be stuck back in their houses, safe, not causing problems.
Starting point is 00:16:40 There could be riots, whatever. And then there were guys like me who didn't like him who were like, whoa, the ability to declare martial law across a nation like that is way too much power for a person. And like what sunk into my head was like, all right, you Bush lovers, take this power and give it to Clinton, right? You won't like it anymore. Circling back to this Orlando thing, if you just want to say, hey, anyone who's as much as being investigated, if they're just being looked at by some government process, that's all it takes to take away their gun rights, be careful. Yeah. My issue with that is, and I think what a lot of people are putting forward is, well, so I think it's bullshit when they say, oh, he was able to get a gun because he was under an FBI investigation at one point. Like, that's bullshit. He should have been able to get the gun because he was under an FBI investigation at one point. Like, that's bullshit. He should have been able to get the gun. He was a security officer.
Starting point is 00:17:29 He had a Class G weapons permit. This is a guy who was going to be armed and armed to the teeth no matter what you did. This is a well-trained guy. Most likely an excellent shot. It's what he did for a living. So that's all bullshit. And if he didn't have a gun he could have timothy mcvade it bought a bunch of you know bomb equipment and done it that way like every time there's a mass shooting like this it you count your lucky stars that they didn't use make a firebomb instead because nobody would
Starting point is 00:17:55 be so much more devastating yeah um but but but my thing was that he was under this fbi and fbi investigation but they didn't figure it out that this guy was for real and that they didn't see this coming you know maybe you don't I don't know if this guy gets away with it that just says to me that I don't like the framing of the argument
Starting point is 00:18:18 that it immediately went to gun control and obviously this is preaching to the choir because we're all on the same page there but to be like oh this person you know if they hadn't got a gun, they wouldn't have been able to, you know, act out this rage and anger and whatever the incentive was. Like, no, no, it's getting the gun is the easy part. You know, the hard part is convincing someone that they should murder tons of people because of something they believe. So it's putting the cart before the horse, saying like, yeah, if this guy just didn't have a gun,
Starting point is 00:18:49 he'd still be living peacefully in his $10 home in Florida. Like, no, of course not. His $10 home. I had to process that. It's clearly this is someone who hated himself for having gay inclinations, I guess, and hated other gay people. I should have counseled him. I could have made him more at ease with his gay inclinations, I guess, and hated other gay people. I should have counseled him. I could have made him more at ease with his gay inclinations.
Starting point is 00:19:11 You found him a high-team woman to satisfy those urges he had. Oh, very hairy, too. Very hairy, yeah. Yeah, very hairy. Find a woman with a strong jawbone and a small boob, and you know you'll be fine
Starting point is 00:19:26 that guy would have murdered you then murdered you um i'm gonna kill you like that's what would come and he had a grinder account too that was that was yeah yeah i saw that too yeah it's it's it Yeah, it's awful is what it is. It's a terrible thing. I remember I woke up and Kitty told me that and the numbers and it was a gay nightclub. And I was just like, wow, how horrible that is. And I was taking a shower and I was thinking to myself like, you know, I bet this will wake a lot of people up to to the truth that awake a lot of people up to the fact that there's a whole group whose organized and motivate motivated in and hates the big part of this liberal
Starting point is 00:20:11 uh... side of politics the side that's that really wants to put their head in the sand sometimes and insurance and i thought surely a lot of people wake up and i i have seen that i've seen a lot i i saw the donald for example e the example grew by by a massive amount. Our news, because of their censorship, it shrunk by a large amount. It lost 8,000 subscribers or something like that that day.
Starting point is 00:20:33 Something crazy like that. I'm also on Reddit a lot. So the Donald is not a reliable source for news, right? It's obvious when you say it. But it's not. They just pitch a lot of silliness in there. But reliable news, or I guess truth and false, comes out of it. So I have to always, like, double-check and see what's what.
Starting point is 00:20:56 I see it differently. Not that the Donald has any, like, good news. I'm sure just, like, you know, any news site, or even the shittiest one, even a broken clock is right twice a day. So every once in a while they're going to throw something at the wall and it's going to stick. But I like that it's kind of understood
Starting point is 00:21:13 like this is stupid and silly and nonsense and shit. But the news ones, the politics ones, are just as fucking ridiculous and everybody is under the umbrella of, no, this is real news. This is actual stuff that we're doing here.
Starting point is 00:21:31 I know that we linked basically an old Soviet propaganda website from 1993, but it's okay because it fits in line with our agenda. It's the same shit. It's just there's not an air of honesty i guess that's interesting the donald's so false it's honest again it circles back around like no no we were never pretending to be anything but jackasses you know no honestly that was a good way that you just put it is they never pretended to not be idiot jackasses who are like spinning stuff and so it eventually came around to like well fuck these guys are saying that
Starting point is 00:22:10 they're totally biased and you know what you're going to get when you come here meanwhile the other ones like the politics one they have this banner of you know you know everyone can you speak well whatever you want free speech you know we're not you though don't say! Don't say that! Delete, delete, delete, delete, delete. Because if you say something we don't like, we'll delete it or we'll just respond with the one word ism or ist and that'll be the end of that. I will say this. There's a lot of people on the
Starting point is 00:22:36 Donald who aren't joking. Like who do believe that this is where the truth is and it's the only factual place. Well, there's cartoons and memes and like over the top hyperbole like like the the beauty of the donald to me though is that i can go there and i can siphon through and i can i can get all the things that i want from reddit anyway there's gonna be something funny there i'm gonna laugh i'm gonna save two or three uh memes i'm gonna
Starting point is 00:23:00 there's gonna be two or three funny gifs where where they just hastily paste Donald Trump's head on a wrestler who's fighting off eight opponents or something. I love that. I love all that stuff. But then there's also going to be links to Huffington Post or Salon.com. There's going to be links to Fox News and CNN. And there's going to be polls that are accurate. There's going to be polls that are not so accurate. And I can kind of sift through and find my own mix.
Starting point is 00:23:24 I like that Milo's always on there. He's a mod over there. What is that saying of, like, I don't remember who said it, but it was like, if you make a community out of, this is paraphrased, if you make a community out of pretending to be idiots, eventually idiots will find you thinking they're in good company. I don't recall who said that.
Starting point is 00:23:41 I love it, though. That's the Donald. It's true. Yeah, like, it's a bunch of people who are like, yeah, we like this candidate. He's fucking weird and out there. We're going to Photoshop his head onto eagles and him flying with Hillary and Bernie's heads and their talons and just totally over the top. I like that.
Starting point is 00:23:57 And then eventually people start showing up being like, this is what I am all about. I love this. I love this. It really is fun. It's a fun team to be on. And I love this. I love this. You know, like, it really is fun. It's a fun team to be on because, like, and I love those memes in particular.
Starting point is 00:24:09 I like the ones where it's like, it's like Trump dressed as, like, a crusading knight with, like, a sword as big as he is and he's pointing it, like, across a battlefield
Starting point is 00:24:19 that's just a million foes. It looks like Lord of the Rings times ten. And the caption says something like you know they're all against him it wouldn't be fair otherwise it's just like that's hilarious and you know the stuff with the eagle he'll have like an eagle perched on an arm and a machine gun in the other and he's riding a lion i love all that shit it's hilarious i wish i could tell how important the internet is like so i've talked about this before, but in fast forward, which I like to say,
Starting point is 00:24:45 years ago, like, you know, Ron Paul won the internet. It didn't mean anything, right? Bernie Sanders won the internet. Like he didn't win,
Starting point is 00:24:56 but it counted for something, you know? Donald Trump is winning the internet. And it also seems to count for something. If we fast forward four years or eight years, will the Internet be the primary battleground? Well, they've got to go until November. I think so. I think the Internet's a lot bigger because the Internet's growing
Starting point is 00:25:15 and because more people are getting plugged in and more people are using it. And Facebook's grown so much. Facebook has just grown so much much and it's such a tool politically. It's a shame that there seem to be issues with it with content being suppressed. But yeah, the internet's bigger. Voices are being, there's lots of
Starting point is 00:25:35 echo chambers out there and there's lots of good discussion out there and I think it really allows each team to rally their troops and get them together and sometimes it's a great thing and sometimes it's a bad thing and sometimes it's a bad thing. And sometimes it just depends on where you're standing. What I think is cool about the internet and the Donald and Donald Trump is that Donald is very internet savvy and you never see him making little tech faux pas or something like
Starting point is 00:25:59 not knowing how to tweet, like get all of his words in a tweet or something like that. He's a Twitter master. And what I really liked is that either Donald Trump himself or someone at his campaign goes to the Donald subreddit. They go there because I've seen it happen at least two or three times. It must be fun. It's been two or three times now where something's on the front page of the Donald and by that rationale
Starting point is 00:26:25 reddit and then within three or four hours it's on donald trump's twitter i love that when i see it and imagine how much that fires you up as a trump supporter when you're feeding him fucking one liners for hillary trump like like that would really go ahead what he does very well on twitter is if you look at like uh hillary clinton's twitter or bernie sanders twitter i don't know about sanders as much so i won't say because i don't know anything about his twitter but if you look at hillary clinton's it's very clearly written by an aide someone who was sitting down with an agent yes it's it's that same kind of like disingenuous like you're kind of you know contacting me but not really It goes through three different channels before I even realize that someone tweeted me.
Starting point is 00:27:09 It's just, it's not real. But Trump, he really does tweet like a 70 or 69-whatever-year-old man. 70-year-old man. 70. A 70-year-old man who doesn't fully understand the way you're supposed to punctuate tweets. And so it's very exclamation point heavy. And that is almost endearing in a way because it's like it's the same you all have old friends on facebook i'm sure and they are very exclamation point heavy it's very they're very excited to be there and they're happy to let you know and that's what he seems like on twitter is all the exclamation points and the weird formatting sometimes it's like okay this is clearly him doing it because someone who was trained in this would have done
Starting point is 00:27:48 it much more professionally I was I was starting to say I didn't wrap my points people I on the Donald they kept talking about how the news was denying he was even Muslim and that they tried to blame it on some like white Christian at. I didn't see that anywhere except the Donald. And that kind of... I just want to be like, let's remember, this is a really crappy news source. I'm not sure what they're referring to. That could be a thing too. I don't know what they're referring to, but I don't think they're just making it up.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Because they've got to be talking about something. I feel like it could be like, hey, this thing's one hour old. Let's not jump to any conclusions. And they're like, you know, they're denying that it was a Muslim. No, they're fact-checking. Take a breath. I don't know. I really like that picture of the meme.
Starting point is 00:28:37 He's like clapping and crying. And it's the number of days since the last Muslim terror attack. And now they've changed it to hours but then one happened immediately so that guy in texas you know the somalia like uh hostage situation at walmart that was today um so so immediately they changed the one from hours that had been really funny and everybody thought was great to minutes i think this whole any any kind of, you know, attack by a terrorist is going to help Trump quite a bit, I think. But I could be totally wrong. But what I'm thinking is the more that happens, the more it's going to kind of beat that drum.
Starting point is 00:29:16 And people are going to be like, well, maybe he's not as far-fetched as we thought. And, you know, if ISIS doesn't want Trump trump in office all they have to do is just take a chill pill for not even a year like and it would ruin his chances i think like that's his main rallying cry it seems to be yeah like i did not like his tweets because i followed him on twitter to see what he's saying the whole like uh him like, oh, I told you so. I told you they would do this and this would happen. I didn't like that at all because it was like, what, you're going to fucking gloat about this
Starting point is 00:29:51 half an hour after it happens? That's pretty tactless. But it also shows you that it's actually him tweeting because no one would actually do that. I did not like him doing that at all. I thought that was really shitty. That's not the time. Because he'll rip on people being like uh oh they're immediately turning it into a gun control debate and it's like yeah i don't agree with that but you you
Starting point is 00:30:12 did something shitty too you know maybe not endemically shitty and putting us on the wrong debate path from the get-go but still shitty in its own way which yeah yeah but but you almost have to because when when they come at when the opposition is coming at you with gun control gun control this is why it happened you've got to be like whoa no it was this thing it's this thing that i've been talking about i can see it both ways but yeah it is a little tax i understand what you're saying there because it's like if you don't address it somehow then you're just embroiled in the gun control debate. They've taken you and suddenly you're playing an away
Starting point is 00:30:48 game. Suddenly you're on the back foot instead of being like, well, this has kind of been a big part of my platform and you've been blowing it off. I don't know. It's so confusing. I've been thinking all along that any terror attacks that might happen in
Starting point is 00:31:04 this country would strongly bolster Trump's campaign because it just goes to, you know, it backs what he's been saying, especially, especially in what I the scenario I laid out a while back. terror network that the guy sitting down for the 10 o'clock news has heard of or whatever, if they come up through Mexico and they slaughter a bunch, yeah, if they cross that border and disguised as Mexicans and they slaughter... Kill a bunch of blonde women. And they kill a bunch of... No. They gotta kill a minority group.
Starting point is 00:31:39 You need to go deeper into that color palette, my friend. Eggshell white won't even do. You go way on toward the topes. If they come and they kill some people who are on the liberal scale of okay people that we can defend, then that would do it.
Starting point is 00:31:56 Won't happen. Won't happen because Muslims are now at the top of that victim hierarchy. What if they kill some Muslims? They already do that. hierarchy. What if they kill some Muslims? They already do that. Here, what if they come to Texas and kill our Muslims? I don't even know.
Starting point is 00:32:12 I like this conversation, kind of. I enjoy the chess behind the politics as much as I care about the results, too. I read an article today on, I think it might have been Huffington Post, but it was all the republican losers campaign managers so they all got together like the campaign manager for ted cruz for um jeb bush marco rubio and maybe another guy
Starting point is 00:32:38 got together and talked about the mistakes they made and why they lost the race and that was pretty interesting yeah i like the way you look at it like sports almost where it's like you pick your team and then you follow it for a while but at the end of the day at least for me at the end of the day i really don't care about the result as much like i'd be i would gladly sign up for like 10 straight years of hillary clinton as president if it meant that the blues had a guaranteed shot to win the Stanley Cup at least once. If in the next 10 years the Blues win the Stanley Cup, I'd sign that.
Starting point is 00:33:09 If you're a Blues fan, then you are an American. Absolutely. Dear God! I'm not with you on that. Think of this bullshit. They love the Yankees, but they knew the Kaiser had to go. I actually care about the outcome a lot but but i i
Starting point is 00:33:25 find it interesting because like as a fan a fan of like hillary or trump or whoever you're like oh my god he said that i can't believe it oh my god she did that how offensive but those people aren't offended you know when when trump says something about hillary being strong or weak or old or young or ugly or fat or whatever she's not like oh my heavens that hurt my feelings instead she's like all right pawn to g6 i disagree my move and trump hits personally trump doesn't say hey your husband never really balanced the budget ha hillary's playing tiktok says, you old wrinkled crone, you couldn't satisfy your husband. What makes America think that you can satisfy them?
Starting point is 00:34:10 That's a Trump tweet. I hear you, but I swear she's not like she's probably like, dude, I haven't been actually married to him for 30 years now. It doesn't matter. You know, how can I use what he just said to my advantage? The only reason she's relevant or has ever
Starting point is 00:34:26 been relevant well i guess but that is more of a calculated answer like all right he's severing my tie with bill what's my counter move on this thing you know i don't think that when hillary says you know trump is orange orange is not the new. He won't be president. I made that up. Well, kind of. That's a thing. Obama said orange is the new black. He said it's not. I don't know. Maybe he got it. Anyway, I don't think Trump is like, what? She called me orange? Oh my heavens. This is a feelings hurder. No. He's just like, how can I flip that around? I disagree. He takes that stuff personally. I was reading the article
Starting point is 00:35:06 that Tom did about him. The Time article. He sits there watching those multiple news feeds, and he's watching to see, and he's taking names. He remembers. He rejected the Washington Post fucking press credentials the other day. Nobody's ever done any shit like that.
Starting point is 00:35:21 He was like, you know what? You're not much of a press organization. Get the fuck out of here no more of you he kicked him out that's gonna be a problem for them they can't they can't cover him correctly anymore you're right i take it back i didn't even think about that i was just thinking that he was tweeting basically like impotently like you're not even a real news site but really it's him being like oh yeah uh you can you're not welcome in any of these discussions that i'm having you can't ask questions i'm not going to field your questions and so have fun with that internet traffic and your advertisers buddy oh they're not they're gonna leave are they gonna leave like that's
Starting point is 00:35:59 funny i like that move um i don't know how effective it is but it's got to be somewhat effective it's it's it's not a non-issue for them. They got to be like, yeah, we can't fucking go, Bill. What am I going to do? That's my job. I'm the guy who covers Trump. I'm the Trump guy. They're like, well, just keep writing. I'm the field Trump guy. I got to stand outside and film the building. We got to hope they turn the speakers up loud enough for us. Wearing bootleg New York Times hats.
Starting point is 00:36:29 That says New York Tomes. Well, we're pretty new. We're an up-and-coming organization. Who is the New York Time? Yeah. Well, it's our first publication, so there's only one of them. It's the New York Time.
Starting point is 00:36:45 To clarify about the Hillary being president for 10 years, it's our first publication, so there's only one of them. It's in your time. We'll be back tomorrow. To clarify about the Hillary being president for 10 years, it would have to at least be a St. Louis Blues dynasty. One cup wouldn't cut it. It'd have to be three in a row minimum or five over the course of 10 years. Oh, God, that's totally worth it. I love that you're clarifying wasn't like, you know, I'm not serious. It was, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:37:04 Actually, I just want more blue success. Because then, you know, as I'm having to hand my guns over to the Gestapo, I can at least look at my Stanley Cup champions hat and be like, it wasn't a whole loss. I like guns and stuff. They don't actually play a big role in my life. I don't know when the last time I touched a gun is. I bet it's... I don't remember the last time I exercised my
Starting point is 00:37:27 right to, what, unlawful search and seizure, or my right to, or any of the Bill of Rights, any of your rights. It's not about how often you exercise it, although it is good to exercise all your rights, but some of the rights, you hope that they never even apply to you at all. But they have to be there, or
Starting point is 00:37:43 the whole system kind of crumbles. Or at least I feel like it does, because I feel like that Second Amendment is protecting that First Amendment. It protects them all. You can't take any of them from me until you take the second one from me. There's a reason it's number two.
Starting point is 00:38:00 But let me finish my thought. It's gotta be, right? Let me finish my thought. I like guns, but my life doesn't revolve around them like some people might say. I worry about that, but I worry just as much about the other stuff, the privacy stuff, like the stuff that was taken from us around 9-11, right? After 9-11, suddenly Echelon is out there automatically scanning all of our emails. And there's some other program tracking all the phones that I call right like alright this is everybody's or 9-11 or maybe I'm I don't know if it rolled out more or whatever but like picks up the keywords from you from audio all kinds
Starting point is 00:38:38 of privacy stuff was taken away there's like face recognition things as you walk in all these different stadiums and they try to hunt you down um just the the amount of like human tracking just went like skyrocketed out of and mostly on us yeah mostly on americans although we every day you hear that oh yeah we're spying on the germans and the japanese oh yeah lots of espionage espionage in russia and like we're spying on everybody like like the united states seems to be the global power of, like, dirty laundry. I'm afraid all of a sudden, like, they're flipping on the mic to my webcam. You know, just, yeah, we silently turn on all the webcams and listen to what people say in private. You know, those Xbox Kinects, you know, suddenly they're spying on you in your living room.
Starting point is 00:39:22 Hey, I'm going to be honest. I believe all that. I don't talk. I don I believe all that I don't talk I don't say anything that I wouldn't want to be said like anywhere near my phone I just feel like yeah it's probably listening it's probably listening let's not even joke around about any illegal things let's just let's just be let's just pretend like there's an officer here with me right
Starting point is 00:39:40 now all the time this is officer Sony or Samsung and and he's gonna to be monitoring things today that's what it feels like to be fair though like i i think that they are screening for like really in like sincere threats for the most part like uh i don't like being screened nobody's like looking at a text like there's no text showing up from like stacy q being like what a fun bonfire i had a blast a ton of sake bombs and they're like we need to get stacy over here now like no of course not like and nobody's talking near their phone like oh i'm gonna go you know buy an energy drink and do some loitering and somebody's you know quick on the draw to the local 7-eleven
Starting point is 00:40:22 like i think they are prioritizing like real shit it's just still unsett draw to the local 7-Eleven. I think they are prioritizing real shit. It's just still unsettling to know that they could be listening in to you talking about how you went. That goes back to the bad leader thing, right? I'm sorry. I thought you were – No, you're welcome. You might be okay with W or Obama doing. The next guy down the road could be crazy.
Starting point is 00:40:45 Now they have the ability to listen to all your calls. W or Obama doing, the next guy down the road could be crazy. And now they have the ability to listen to all your calls. They're recording all your texts. And who knows what's next? Maybe they... Maybe you do something that makes them mad and they're trying to frame you for an unrelated
Starting point is 00:41:00 thing. And they just paint it in a terrible way. I don't know. It's a lot of power. It's scary. Yeah. And the power that our government seizes needs to be reasonable enough that it survives bad leaders. Well, there's no better way to make sure that happens than to just make a
Starting point is 00:41:16 very large, almost totalitarian, but in a fun way, like central government, and then put I don't know, some kind of distant distant not really in touch with the zeitgeist old man in charge of it i think that would be for the i think we should put a computer program in charge oh that's good i don't see yeah and you cut off from the outside world you know cut all the wires yeah we don't want anybody like coming in and telling he's
Starting point is 00:41:40 pointing at bernie i i believe bern has had purer intentions than any other president. That's the worst thing. That's the worst part. Hitler had pure intentions. A pure race. He's got pure intentions. He thinks it's for the good of mankind. Maybe it is, but like I said way back six months ago, Sanders
Starting point is 00:41:59 is preaching about a Star Trek universe where money doesn't matter anymore because everybody's motivated by the betterment of humanity where like everyone has a basic income and the only real currency is like energy credits if you want to go above and beyond like make your own restaurant or something like that he's living in Star Trek land and like the year 2250 or something that shit won't fly now because we have lazy people. We have people who... And we're all lazy, right?
Starting point is 00:42:27 If you come to me and give me a basic income, I might just take that. Fuck you, yeah. I'll never do anything ever. Thank you for my... How much is it gonna be in the United States? I don't know. I'll find a way to cheat the system if I can. Are you still gonna go into work tomorrow, Dr. Kyle? Or no, not Dr. Kyle. Construction worker Kyle?
Starting point is 00:42:45 Ah, nah. I'm Or no, not Dr. Kyle, construction worker Kyle? Ah, nah. I'm not really into building the infrastructure of the country anymore now that I have a free living wage. You aren't going to have a hard time paying for your kids' schooling now? No, because internet and all the stuff I want, that's all a basic need now. Now that Chancellor Sanders says that everyone's
Starting point is 00:43:01 entitled to YouTube in 4K, no, it's just i i don't think that any of those politicians that get to that level pure of heart or peer of intention i think that some of them are just way better acting like it and that's not to say they're all equally kind of shitty
Starting point is 00:43:19 the nature of it to get that high and to make a career being a politician and just be caught being a politician and just being a politician is so much manipulation and tomfoolery and underhanded shit it's just like they're not good people on a certain level democrat at least i mean least in him you've got a democratic socialist at least and and say what you will about that it means he's an opportunistic democrat he's independent until he decides that he wants votes. Oh, absolutely. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:47 Well, I mean, what's Trump? Trump's just an opportunistic Republican. I think he could have ran... I've said it before. I think he could have ran on the Democratic ticket with very, very little change to his platform. He would have been blown out by Hillary. As a Democrat, and the things he said are just getting me... I'm asking him, I'm asking him talking shit to Hillary for six months.
Starting point is 00:44:09 I don't know. That's true. You can't really tell because the whole process didn't happen. He just started calling Bill a rapist last year. I'm very interested in the way he runs his campaign. Because primaries elect extreme people, right? And he won the primaries.
Starting point is 00:44:30 He kind of benefited from having all these people in it. He only needed like 30% to be the most popular guy in the room. How would it have gone if he was 1v1? I don't know. Guys like Kasich staying in it forever. What the fuck? Rubio staying in too long. I could go on. But Cruz stayed in it.
Starting point is 00:44:49 Not Cruz. Carson stayed in it too long. Going forward, are more people going to run a Trump-like campaign? No. It's not an if. It's a can they. I don't think they can run a Trump campaign. Not unless they're an eccentric billionaire.
Starting point is 00:45:07 Yeah, exactly. And I think Trump's really his own thing. If Mark Cuban comes out and starts, like, talking, if Mark Cuban came out, I'd be like, wow, Mark's a real cocksucker, huh? What an asshole. Trump has built himself up as the guy who makes these kind of decisions and judgments about people for the last 20 years or 15 years or something on reality TV.
Starting point is 00:45:25 Of course he's the guy to make these decisions. He's the one who fires people on TV. I don't know. I just, if we're Mark Cuban instead of Donald Trump up there saying the same things, I wouldn't believe it as much. I think this is a one-off. Trump is his own thing. There's a reason we've never seen this before.
Starting point is 00:45:44 This is pretty rare. off this trump is his own thing there's a reason we've never seen this before um this is this is pretty rare trump's an interesting kind of like bulletproof yet sensitive flower you know like he says something and he sounds tough you know he's a tough guy he's a man's man on the other hand you know in his heart that like he's like oh really you know bill o'reilly's dogging me god darn it like i think his feelings are out there he were the it's a funny kind of tough yet sensitive what the final straw for him the reason he ran was at the last year's um white house correspondence dinner obama mocked him for about four jokes in a row and the whole crowd laughed at him and they and if you at Trump, he's just sitting
Starting point is 00:46:25 there like this. They should have mocked him. Because Trump at the time was leading the birther movement. I feel like that hasn't hurt him enough. This was last year. I remember it was... Yeah, the birther thing was dead and buried by last year. Yeah, it was the year they
Starting point is 00:46:41 killed Osama Bin Laden that I remember Obama... Yeah remember that's 2011 or 2000 yeah that was quite a while ago yeah that year um trump was just saber rattling constantly about the goddamn birther thing you know and then he shows his birth certificate and he says he needs to be long form and it's like trump you joke. You idiot clown of an orange subhuman dickwad. Like, Trump was the biggest jackass in the world on this whole he's a Kenyan Islamic plant stuff. Now that's all dead and buried. Now everyone's like, ah, you know, lols.
Starting point is 00:47:20 You know, like it. Hillary did that too. No. He did grow up in Kenyaya like show me where hillary did it because like i check snopes on that i check politic fact on that and they all say false the the real source for that hillary started it is the donald the subreddit on on reddit and i can't find anything else that corroborates it. That subreddit's only been around for like a year, right? Show me your others.
Starting point is 00:47:48 Like, I could be wrong. It's always a possibility, but I don't think Hillary started the birther movement. I don't know if she started it. I just thought that she was... Oh, no, I don't think she started it, but I think that she cashed in on it. The entire GOP was happy to go along with that thing as well.
Starting point is 00:48:07 Everybody was happy to either look the other way or sign off on it. Everyone's a stretch, but there was a good third of them that said it wasn't true. He was on Fox News saying it. Mitt Romney was happy to take his endorsement and his money even though he was saying it. So really, the establishment of the GOP was on board with the birther thing maybe they weren't shouting from the rooftops but they were happy to let trump inside their doors to so that he could stand on and he could say it right and palin was saying ridiculous stuff like that too well palin's a fucking just uh wow how did she fool us all eight years ago how don't count me in that okay look, go back and watch that first speech she had at the,
Starting point is 00:48:46 uh, at the Republican national convention when she, when, when fucking McCain sends her out there and she's, she's got the crowd fired up. She sounds like she's in command. She's, she's, uh, she sounds smart. She said she's got numbers. She's talking about a brighter future. She's pandering to, you know, the, the, the white, uh, soccer moms out there. It was great. I liked it a lot. But then I hear a speech recently of her speaking at some dinner. She doesn't have a grasp on the English language. She's using
Starting point is 00:49:14 words and she clearly doesn't know what they mean because she's not her grammar's all wrong and not in the kind of slip of the tongue kind of the way. Her grammar's wrong in a way that suggests she doesn't know how to form complex thoughts and ideas. I find that
Starting point is 00:49:29 shallow and pedantic. I was gonna say that. It wasn't like these are some high falutin ideas she was trying to express. You see, she's just trying to talk like a regular person and she couldn't manage it because she's a dum-dum. It seems that or maybe she's on drugs or something.
Starting point is 00:49:47 I don't know. The amount of hate that she got back in the day, I guess, like still on Twitter. It was astounding. The amount of hate and flack that she got. Like. I don't think that even Hillary is getting shared out. Never mind. Hillary's definitely getting the amount that she did but at least people are calling out shitty people and saying ah it's
Starting point is 00:50:11 sexist that you're saying there's no there was no such uh rallying cry for sarah palin those same people who are claiming sexist now were you know front of the seat of the fuck you bus in 2008 but i have i'm having fun. So the Republicans loved Palin for like a month. And then a month into it, they're like, you know what? She's kind of a fuckwad. It was odd.
Starting point is 00:50:36 She really sold it. That first speech, she must have practiced and practiced and practiced. There was a lot of speaking engagements, honestly. There's lots of campaigning during that year, every election. But she didn't seem like a dum-dum. I didn't know that she was that stupid
Starting point is 00:50:56 until, like, I don't know, a few years ago once you're on Fox News speaking and stuff and you'd be like, well, she's just kind of reiterating the talking points she doesn't really okay whatever but but then like i said recently the recordings of her that i've seen suggest that she's she's stupid she's very stupid i i thought the stupid thing came out during that campaign and there were basic things she was like like the germans invading hawaii and stuff like that and it was just i give them credit for that because they're in front of the camera so much.
Starting point is 00:51:26 And like, I know we've all been delirious from lack of sleep or food before, and I bet that they're getting that on these campaign trails. By the end of this thing, when you've been campaigning and being a politician for like a year straight or whatever, you could accidentally juxtasuppose some
Starting point is 00:51:41 facts or some years or you could forget how many stripes were on the flag, or you could refer to Puerto Rico as a state instead of a territory. And that doesn't necessarily mean that you're so stupid that you didn't learn about Puerto Rico in school. It just means that you were really tired that day. I'm with you. I'm with you. I have stated a bunch of times,
Starting point is 00:51:59 you put a mic in front of anybody long enough, and they'll get something wrong or say something dumb. I remember Obama said something about, I forget if he, he got the number of states wrong. He added two. He's like, yeah, we've been to, I don't know, 48 states now. Four more to go. It was just like, wait, what? Well, that's what happens when you get rid of his teleprompter.
Starting point is 00:52:21 He's a great reader. No, he was probably counting Puerto Rico and and virgin islands and whoever else guam votes if he actually yeah no he wasn't okay yeah you can make excuses for that but really you don't think that he like you think he just flat out got the number of states wrong and then i think i think he got scatterbrained for a minute and and just wasn't doing math he's not an idiot that thought there were 52 states he just made a little faux pas you know but you see that map al franken drew i've seen a bunch of those i've seen him do it live impressive what so al franken freehand drew the united states from memory like the uh the the like not just contiguous, the, he drew Alaska and Hawaii, you know, set off to the side as well,
Starting point is 00:53:08 but it was almost perfect scale. And he, he, he, he, he remembered almost every single small detail of the shape of every state. It was very impressive. He does this like idiot savant party trick where he can draw the country. And like Kyle said, it is great. Is he drawing the lines in between the states? Yeah, every state is there. Oh, I've never seen it done before.
Starting point is 00:53:33 But when he was running for Senate the first term, he would do that at every campaign stop. He'd show up at diners and be like, watch me draw the country. He'd bring a whiteboard with him. He'd hand them out to voters. No one else loves it this fucking much. You know how long this took?
Starting point is 00:53:49 Close my eyes. Put a blindfold on me. I should be senator. Look what I can do. He'd draw the country, and it turns out really well. He used that skill somehow on the campaign. I imagine him in a debate or something, pulling down a whiteboard and quickly fucking drawing the United states and being like well let's go to kansas first because the farmers in kansas are hurt let me tell you why like that would be great if somehow like like he was doing a little art project while he was talking i could get engaged with that or
Starting point is 00:54:16 if the debates change structure and it was like all right mr franken uh draw kentucky kentucky as a rebuttal you'll be asked to do a quick sketch of Tennessee it's like you're missing the east Tennessee river there or whatever the fuck they would do all those jagged edges on the edges of Tennessee
Starting point is 00:54:41 it's kind of like flat on top you know they do those donor dinners and stuff? He hands them out to donors. Mr. Trump, please draw Alaska, including the islands, and Hillary, if you could give us a quick sketch of Wyoming. If Trump was a YouTuber,
Starting point is 00:54:59 that would be a Patreon level. I said Trump, I meant Franken. He'd be like, yeah, for $1,000, I'll draw you a map. Looking for handmade art on the internet that's
Starting point is 00:55:15 to my liking. The little things that I like like Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones and stuff, I often see those hand-drawn likenesses of famous characters, and I'm like, shit, I wish I could do that. But what I really wish is that I had that drawing. That's what I really want.
Starting point is 00:55:34 There's one of me. I got it in the mail today. Do you want to see it? I do want to see it. But what I really want is a $300 painting of Jon Snow. That's my price range. I'm looking for something that's in the $200 or $300, like a nice. Like, that's my price range. I'm looking for something that's in the $200 or $300, like a nice... You can get that. I know, I found
Starting point is 00:55:50 the website, but you have to pick from what's there. I don't want to requisition a piece or anything. I just want a little painting. I don't want print. My understanding is, and by the way, there's a picture up there that I had done. You give them the image, right?
Starting point is 00:56:05 So I took my logo, I put it over that, I gave them a file. And then I think they put a projector on the canvas and they paint it. So it takes less skill. And they're pretty much like paint by numbers, but of course they're using a projector and then it's an oil painting. You would like it, I think. I would like that what i what i've seen is like really nice and i don't know all the different techniques but you know sometimes it's oil and sometimes it's on canvas and sometimes it's um um pen and then there's lots of different um i don't know what but it's not a print that's like a real oil on canvas painting and uh and it was about 250 i think yeah there's a website there's a website i was looking at where
Starting point is 00:56:47 people just make art and put it there you know they had their own little portfolio there with all of their stuff and you know the price range goes from ten dollar pieces to thousands thousands and thousands of dollars depending on the size and the artist but i want something hand done that's you know maybe maybe like like Jon Snow Tyrion and maybe like the Khaleesi or something, like all looking away from each other, really shadowed and like knurled. Pick an image and have it painted. I don't want to pick an image,
Starting point is 00:57:14 I want an original. I just want something from someone's mind. I don't want them to like copy a picture of Tyrion, I want them to paint Tyrion. You need to get something that people will know was 100% original. So it would be like Jon Snow riding a dragon. Or something like that.
Starting point is 00:57:29 That you know you didn't buy a princess. Maybe a sexual type piece of art. Maybe I could have some sort of crazy three-way with like Brienne and yeah, get everybody involved. I'm having a hard time. This last Game of thrones what happened
Starting point is 00:57:47 like all right so spoilers coming up everyone um so aria was kind of oh she won her fight that was a big deal she revealed that she's been gaming the men without faces or whatever this whole time i'm aria stock from wittifell. He's like, yeah, that's all right. And it's revealed that he knew it the whole time too. No, it didn't make any sense. Really? I watched that part being like, wait, where are the pieces clicking in right here?
Starting point is 00:58:16 Because first of all, I don't think that she was pulling the wool over their eyes as she was getting the shit beat out of them. That's like me doing one of those prank videos where it's like, watch this, I'm gonna go kick this guy's phone out of his hand, and then he beats my ass, and I'm like, haha, idiot, I didn't do it for real. The witch wasn't fooled.
Starting point is 00:58:34 Arya needed skills. Arya needed skills to get her revenge and to complete her list. That's what matters to Arya. And the men without faces were clearly the place to go, because this Jaqen H'ghar guy can take his face off and assassinate people at will. She wanted that power and those
Starting point is 00:58:49 abilities, so she's been kind of going along with that bullshit the whole time. Secretly, Jaqen has always liked her. He knew her from way back in Book 2 or wherever it was, you know, with the coin and the Valar Morghulis and the whole thing. He knows that she's not really down with the the
Starting point is 00:59:05 the mini-faced god either but he's going through the motions because the mini-faced god is watching and so is blondie he's just doing his job letting what happens happen at what point does she get any skill in this because i remember her like she's so hardcore she's like a ninja she's she here's the thing with the fighting skill and all that like yeah she got some skills but from the book and from watching her the first i don't know six episodes that she was in the faceless men hall like it was pretty clear that she was into it like she was so like fuck aria stark my whole life sucks everyone i know is probably dead this is bullshit why even hold on to this old life?
Starting point is 00:59:45 I'm starting something new, and I can't just take a new identity, so I'll just be no one. It was her last... She made a decision when she went and took the poison back from the woman. That was the... But that's not what you just said. You said that all along she's been gaming this system,
Starting point is 01:00:02 and I thought there's a lot of assumptions. But now I'm thinking back to the poison and I disagree with what I said earlier. I think that was the point where she was... That's when she said, you know what, this whole thing about just buying assassins, that doesn't jive with me. So I'm not going
Starting point is 01:00:17 to be a paid assassin. I'm going to be an assassin that has... That's what opened up her eyes finally to what it was that she'd be doing it's like like i said she had been she'd been in the you know two week training being explained about why the akai berries were going to really help your blood pressure and whatever and her first day out making sales she realizes oh my god i paid i paid 500 for my startup kit and nobody wants to sign up for my
Starting point is 01:00:45 berry smoothies. I'm out. I'm done with this. But she wanted to try and escape without paying the $500 deactivation fee. See, here's my thing. I don't remember her getting trained. And correct me if I'm wrong. The whole time she was blind. The whole time she was blind, she was just getting
Starting point is 01:01:01 shit on. What's so wrong about this? That training is what won her the fight in the last episode i know she won the fight because sergio didn't sear seo whatever his name was blind blindfolded when she told her we're gonna have to start watching these together like i do with my girlfriend all right so here's what i'm down it's in she's crippled and she'd know and this is the end she's backed into a corner she's closed up in a room but there's only one source of light it's that candle so she closes her eyes says a little prayer
Starting point is 01:01:30 cuts the candle and murders blondie in the darkness because you learn how to sword fight blindfolded from cercio sirio sirio but no i don't think not in the same way like yeah in my head it was like, oh, yeah, Serio taught me this, and thankfully I'm in this darkened environment and I can do my thing. She got her ass... What there never was was that, like,
Starting point is 01:01:55 student surpasses the teacher kind of training thing. That's what we got last night. Yeah, that's what it was. She was better in the dark, I guess. It's for training. But in the other stuff, like, oh, yeah, when she was getting her ass kicked on the streets being poor, she had to wipe down bodies for a long time.
Starting point is 01:02:12 There was a whole lot of wax on, wax off, with very little like, hey, all this time, you've been learning. That's when she was invested in it, though. What Kyle initially said, we both disagreed with, and now he does as well. But she was very clearly into it in the beginning doing all the basic grunt work of scrubbing down dead bodies and whatnot but she did like it was kind of understood in my head of like all right all these things that she's doing it's not like between this episode next episode she's on you know thigh scrubbing duty for dead old men like no there's there's
Starting point is 01:02:44 training in there it's like you kind of men. No, there's training in there. You kind of have to understand there's more shit going on. It's like classes. What was happening in my head is, look, there's six months of thigh scrubbing before we teach you anything cool. And then fucking week after week after week, it was never anything cool. They're constantly playing the game where she has to lie. She has to be this good lie teller and they're beating her with a stick. I imagine it's constant training and washing
Starting point is 01:03:10 dead bodies every day. But what they're telling you at the end there, I promise you, is that because of her training and because of the time she spent as a blind person, that's what won her the fight. And that was her surpassing her master. The episode was great, though. I don't know how much we want to talk about it.
Starting point is 01:03:26 We're over time, but the hound stuff. You got those four guys sitting by the campfire, talking or whatever, and I'm into that. I like when the show slows down, and you get to see a little bit of some ancillary characters. Not even ancillary characters, some little peons just doing their thing, independent from our main characters and their wealth and power and big dreams. You get to see some assholes out there literally fingering the guy,
Starting point is 01:03:55 checking his oil. Did you see who that was, by the way? No. The guy who gets his oil checked was a guest on PKA, Steve Love, the guy who does all the actions that you like so much oh that's great oh i gotta go back and check that out that's great for steve oh that's great so okay but but but then like i look in the background and i see him coming and i'm like i'm like to my girlfriend i'm like he's got an axe he's got the axe and like nobody sees him coming and he
Starting point is 01:04:22 just comes up and starts chopping him down like a little orchard. The sharpest axe in all the realm. He's swinging it so hard. This guy must have grabbed it from Woody's place when he wasn't looking. This is a brand new razor sharp axe. It looked like an old wood, like, huntsman axe, but it just slices right through the guy. The, um, ah, shit, I had a thing. Oh, oh, the best line wasn't even in Game of Thrones.
Starting point is 01:04:49 There's something called, like, After the Thrones or something like that. Talking about what? Lemon Tree. The character who... Okay, go ahead. No, so what's the... There's a famous actor.
Starting point is 01:05:00 Is it Ian McCall or something who just played... Ian McKellen? No, it was the guy with the dark hair who was it ian mcshane is that his name that the religious leader the guy yeah the guy from dead pool or dead deadwood yes so he's talking and uh he's like yeah you know i played a character in this show and he was a complete pacifist he used to have warrior skills but now he's decided not to fight anymore he's like so, so you know, it was a one-episode character in this show. I was like, yeah, you decide not to fight in this world?
Starting point is 01:05:32 And it was pretty great. Did you see his tweets about it afterward? Like a bunch of people were getting onto him being like, oh, great, already spoiling that you're going to die in your first episode and he was saying like he tweeted out like it's absolutely pathetic that this many losers care this much about a tv show like it's just a show get over it was like that's really he's wrong about he is wrong he is wrong i'll tell you why that show is a little bit of my enjoyment every week i'm waiting on that that's the they you know we about it before. You've got to have something that you're working towards. Why are you not being a Buddha and getting fat and
Starting point is 01:06:09 just sitting there doing whatever you want to do? I watched my vlog. It's because you want things. And one of the things that I want is I want to have the free time to engage in my love for Game of Thrones. And I want to be able to afford HBO and my TV
Starting point is 01:06:27 and all the things that go along with that. That's me treating myself every week to a little Game of Thrones. I sit down and I'm ready. I got my snacks. I got my little dinner tray. I got beverages and stuff. Last two weeks in a row. It's funny, though.
Starting point is 01:06:41 I didn't know it was Sunday. The first episode, all day long. I wake up in the morning and it's Sunday. And I'm like, man, I wish I could just sleep so that I could teleport until nighttime. Because I can't wait. But the last two. You've got to clock in. The last two, it was like, oh, wait a minute.
Starting point is 01:07:02 It's on. It was like 920. I'm like, I could watch it right now. And I did. And it's a treat for it's on like it was like 9 20 i'm like i could watch it right now and i did and it's it's a treat for me i i like it it's i there's only two more right yeah two more um i i think the last one wasn't long these next two are the long or two of the longest ever um i know the titles for the titles are spoilers in their own regard. This is not a spoiler, though. What are her names? Sophia or whatever.
Starting point is 01:07:28 The redhead who plays Sansa, who I don't think is attractive. I know everybody thinks she's really hot. She's got this big mole right here. I think she's got some good angles, but I don't think she's hot. I like redheads. I really like redheads. I think she's hot. Could be thinner, but go on.
Starting point is 01:07:46 She's pretty fat, right, Woody? Her face is puffy. A little puffy. I agree. She looks like she could use some exercise, like maybe a six-week, I don't know, like cardio camp, something like that. She is in the cold, though, so she's bulking up. Ah.
Starting point is 01:08:04 Yes. like that. She is in the cold, though, so she's bulking up. By the way, viewers, please, never turn this incredibly critical eye No, no, never turn this incredibly critical eye looking for flaws toward me.
Starting point is 01:08:16 Because they're all over. No, I just don't find her attractive. I think she's a pretty girl, but I'm not into it, I guess. I don't like that. And I just see her being like, oh, she's so hot. And I see her on these lists with three or four other gorgeous girls, and I don't find her to be that. I see her as competing for prettiest on the show.
Starting point is 01:08:34 I think she's right there. Oh, you're – I disagree there. Can I rephrase it? Prettiest main character, right? I see her and Natalie Dormer, right? She's the wife of the the wife yeah marjorie yeah those two to me yeah you could toss around marjorie's winning that one um the uh the
Starting point is 01:08:54 the calise's like uh lady friend one of the hottest chicks on the show i got to see her naked a few times the calise's lady. You know, like her second in command. The dark, the black. Oh, yeah. Okay, okay, okay. Her, Jon Snow's, what was her name? Kit or Kat or Kit? It wasn't even the name from the book.
Starting point is 01:09:15 It doesn't matter. Osha, Asha, something like that. You might be thinking of... Ygritte. Ygritte. Yeah, in the show it was. Is that her name? Yeah, anyway, the really hot redhead.
Starting point is 01:09:25 There's some really beautiful women. I liked the ex-porn star who was the... I think Gilly's hotter than Sansa. Gilly, Gilly. Gilly's Sam's girl, the wildling chick. Oh, I disagree with that. I've seen some pictures of her with makeup. I think she's hotter.
Starting point is 01:09:40 If you step down below... You can tell they're trying to make her look bad. If you step down below major character, there's some hotter ones. Certainly, you know that... Red Priestess. Not to me. I don't like the Red Priestess. What?
Starting point is 01:09:53 You don't like the new Red Priestess who was threatening... She was talking to Viserys and Tyrion. I need to see her again. I was talking about the old Red Priestess. I don't like the new one as much as the old one. Yeah. The old one oh yeah the old one is so good and she hasn't been around in a while
Starting point is 01:10:08 she'll be back the black ex-slave who works with Daenerys she's really hot but she's also not as big a character as Sansa I just don't think Sansa's hot my opinions get polluted by that because of what their stories are like.
Starting point is 01:10:26 So for the first couple seasons, because Sansa's storyline was so god-awful that I'm still kind of fighting that force of habit that every time she comes on screen, I'm kind of just like, oh, it's going to get boring again. But now it's finally not boring when she's on screen. It was so bad for so long.
Starting point is 01:10:40 It was so bad. All that time she was in King's Landing, it was just her crying and pouting and eating lemon cakes. In my head, they just went one season too long. If last year... You know, because when she was in there, she had a hard time
Starting point is 01:10:56 managing all these power players and what was happening, and she was really out of control. When she left Winteros... Is that what it's called? what the fuck where was winter felt no no that's not what i'm going for where was she trapped king's landing king's landing thank you when she left king's landing she should have become a player like she is today the whole season of her getting like raped by ramsay and she would have these moments of like i'm gonna do
Starting point is 01:11:21 something clever and then it not um um just if last year she was the person she is this year they would have handled her much nothing ever panned out for her and it wasn't the same as when in my head it wasn't the same as when plans don't pan out for other characters like when Tyrion has a plan and it ends up fucking up and exploding in his face you're like oh shit like I really thought there was a good chance he might succeed here but Sansa's plans every time and those moves it's like there's there's no way any of this is gonna work she has no confidence she doesn't have any friends everybody's kind of out to get her at the very very least to manipulate her and use her as like currency or like a power player
Starting point is 01:12:02 like oh yeah I got Sansa on my team sansa's a stark so i'm pretty powerful too like yeah that's what it was she was just a pawn in other people's various games when little fingers sent you to ramsay and you thought you were going to come out well in that situation that was just stupidity i think she could have came out well if he weren't a sociopathic like monster though like I think if you stick her in there with like a normal guy he doesn't have to be a good guy he could still be a villain I'm trying to think like John there are plenty of villains that she could have manipulated well enough that to not get like beaten
Starting point is 01:12:37 and raped every day guys it totally like like she could totally had a fray guy like she'd have had him wrapped around her finger, you know? I mean, you see where those people live. Because she's an old house, and they're trying to grab that kind of timeless respect that's Starks and not the frays. stuff down there with the Blackfish. I liked Jaime going and whatever the threat he said to Edmure to get him to give the castle up. I'm curious about what the next
Starting point is 01:13:12 step is. Does Jaime turn around and head home because his job is done? Does he turn around and head north because, fuck it, let's go help the Starks take Winterfell back. What's in his head right now? That doesn't seem very likely at all, but maybe there's some reason. He goes home, I think. He goes back to
Starting point is 01:13:27 King's Landing. Yeah, he goes to see Cersei. Yeah, but it's... And then, of course, we finally get to see the mountain. I really like that. The guy's like, what did he say? He was like, either come with us or you choose violence. Or there will be violence.
Starting point is 01:13:43 She's like, I choose violence. And I was like, yeah, finally someone has chosen violence. And that guy has with the biggest like, you know that thing. It's a hammer with spikes on it. I don't know what the fuck it is. Like a staple remover that's got like this
Starting point is 01:13:59 He takes one of those like the biggest one you've ever seen and hits the mountain in the chest with it and the mountain picks his head up and throws him and then casually walks over and removes his head he just tears right off tears his head out and and maybe a touch of spine or something fatality mortal combat style yes it just it didn't take long once there wasn't a struggle for him of like it was just a superhuman amount of here's what i didn't i long. There wasn't a struggle for him. It was just... A superhuman amount of...
Starting point is 01:14:28 Here's what I didn't... I don't know what we were supposed to get from this, but that thing hit him in the chest, right? Are we to believe that there was just a lot of space in that armor? Or somehow regular pokes don't hurt him anymore. No, he doesn't give a shit about those pokes. I'm not... It probably poked him,
Starting point is 01:14:46 but I don't think we would... If I run a sword through his heart, does Zombie Mountain give a shit about that? He's fine. That'd kill him. You think it's a zombie? I don't think that you can kill him. I feel like he might go down. He might go down the same way that a normal guy goes down,
Starting point is 01:15:01 but that fucking warlock... That warlock is going to do something immediately after to bring him back again or something. The fucking maester, I'm just calling him a warlock because he gets raised from the dead. It's not blood magic keeping the mountain going, it's some sort of scary maester science. Like, I think the mountain is all
Starting point is 01:15:18 blued and deformed and fucked up, but otherwise he's a big, just gigantic strong human being. I don't think there's anything supernatural about him like he probably doesn't feel pain at this point i can believe disagreement i didn't know what to think yeah there's something supernatural in that like you know how we've had to talk about the magics coming back in the world but i think it might be as you know that magic allowed the maester to do some of his you know hogwash science that would never have
Starting point is 01:15:44 worked ever otherwise they would have been doing this all the time, but now it is working. It's not the kind of sitting there praying or doing anything mystical. What he's doing is science. He was doing it the same way that the Red Woman was almost with taking blood and not the same thing obviously, but I kind of see
Starting point is 01:16:00 it the same as this science wouldn't have worked before the dragons came back. Taylor might be right. Cause there's a parallel to that with that, whatever that green fire shit was that Tyrion used in the battle of the wildfire. Yeah. I think it was called wildfire. Yeah. I know when we were talking about this, I got a lot of crap,
Starting point is 01:16:21 but I was actually right. Like they were able to produce mass amounts of wildfire because magic is heightened in the world. They were able to create more of it. They're like, yeah, we're making it super fast now because of magic. But it's not like the wildfire itself is like magical in its own right. You could make it
Starting point is 01:16:38 independent of magic and it was made independent of magic. As far as the mountain goes, with the mountain, here's what I think. I think that there's nothing supernatural going on there because this maester, Cersei's maester, I can't think of his name, but that guy is about
Starting point is 01:16:53 the kind of science that everybody else kind of frowns on. Remember, he's the one who fixed Jaime's hand, or nub, or stub of a hand, or whatever. He didn't say a bunch of prayers over it. He was like, yeah, we're going to boil it in wine and cut the dead flesh away and then I'll form the skin back
Starting point is 01:17:10 and suture it shut. Probably what we'd do, I mean, given if we had the same tools. Yeah, something about that maester practiced dark arts that were frowned upon by everybody else. But I guess in the case of the mountain, it helped him. Yeah. I don't know. The first blood transfusion he wanted to do to the mountain it was like sucking the like venom or poison or
Starting point is 01:17:31 infection out yeah taylor what were you trying to say oh saying like as a close to my my take on the game of thrones thing this isn't a spoiler it's just what i think is going to happen i'm not looking forward to the spoiler it could be happen I'm not looking forward to the really it could be whatever I'm not looking forward to the really hokey scene where Arya kills the mountain in the dark not looking forward to that it's going to be silly and unbelievable but
Starting point is 01:17:54 that's not going to happen my spoiler that I got in trouble with was the hound was going to fight the mountain in trial by combat you got in trouble for the spoiler was that you told people that the hound was coming back to the mountain in trial by combat you got in trouble for the spoiler was that you told people that the hound was coming back to the show because that's book knowledge whatever i didn't know it you spoiled it for me that's how i know it was a spoiler you don't think it'll happen with the mountain are you killing him but i thought she would be
Starting point is 01:18:20 the final one to kill him maybe he'll die again before then but yeah you know with this mountain you get to die a couple times i think that he can probably i thought the hound was fight him. Maybe he'll die again before then. Yeah, with this mountain you get to die a couple times. I think that he can probably... I thought the hound was going to kill him. I can't tell you why anymore. I thought it was going to be trial by combat, but that doesn't seem likely. If he does, I see that maester bringing him back
Starting point is 01:18:37 to life with some voodoo, and then the final one to kill him is going to be Arya, because that has to... And this is a book spoiler, so I'm just going to use the code. Is Stoneheart going to be aria because that has to fit with the ethos and this is a book spoiler so i'm just going to use the code is stoneheart gonna happen yeah i think so yes i i hope so really badly and here's what i really think stoneheart is a go um yeah you guys google it if you want to spoil it's gonna happen this is a big spoiler for those of you out there who don't want any huge massive spoilers don't look into this but it's I think if it's
Starting point is 01:19:06 going to happen it's going to happen now in the next two episodes yeah and my guess is it's in the last episode put this off for far too long Stoneheart kills an important character I wonder if that could happen I don't know who that character is I'm looking forward to it
Starting point is 01:19:22 though there's a really cool thing just for your benefit Woody let me send this to you Woody because you'll really enjoy it after the show is that a wrap? yeah thanks oh I thought I was going to react to what you were sending
Starting point is 01:19:37 yeah but it's a spoiler for the show it's kind of a yeah alright well that was Painkiller Nearly episode 96 I hope you guys enjoyed it I thought it was a good one I thought it was episode. It's kind of, yeah. Okay. All right. Well, that was Painkiller Nearly, episode 96. I hope you guys enjoyed it. I thought it was a good one. I thought there was a good flow. Great one.
Starting point is 01:19:49 Yeah. I'm not sure. Yeah, I like that too. Top 10%.
