Lovely lovely long bank holiday yeah the Queen The Queen Shubilee Bank. No, I see. Oh, well, Clarke is birthday bank holiday. The Clarke is birthday bank holiday. Yeah, come on. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Come on, everyone's going to be waving their flags for me, surely. Absolutely. Tell us what you're up to. Send us your photos of how you've celebrated Clarke's Shubilee. How, yeah, I'd love that. Pat me, flat share at gmail.com.

You can't yourself to the finish. I can't. 45, you can't just jump to the finish. You can't jump to the finish square. OK. 45, you won't be disappointed.
Starting point is 00:03:07 And speaking of not being disappointed, you're not going to be disappointed by this lovely chat that the three funniest people we know had. I would say, not 10 minutes ago. You're going to love it. We're very funny. You're going to laugh a lot. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Oh, no. No. Enjoy it! I've had a thought. I've got an issue. I've got a question I want to ask you. I want to talk. I want a chat.
Starting point is 00:03:38 OK, let's sit down and chew the fat. Has meeting, meeting, meeting. What temperature should we set the heat? Has meeting, meeting, meeting. the heat? Has meeting be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be 10 be bold, bold head. Not the boldest part of my body, I'd venture. That's actually true. And you know, even when you were a man with hair and you know at university, and I know we were always looking back to our glory days, you know. But you had a gorgeous head of hair. And that's amazing, I don't know. I remember once you were giving a presentation for the drama society, pitching to director, you know, when you wanted to direct a play, you had to do your pitch to the rest of the
Starting point is 00:04:35 society. They're very exciting events, everyone stepped forward and they don't want to do my country's good because they've done it for, you know, GCSE or A level or whatever. They're going to want to do it, but my country is good. So they all will be pitching that. Your pitch is bad. Don't care about the country, mate. But you did an amazing thing.
Starting point is 00:04:57 And I think this sealed the pitch was... You were talking about what play you wanted. You were involved, after a third. thought yeah He was a very stressful pitch What he did is he ended the pitch by lifting up his entire hair like a hat I'm saying, thank you very much So you were delivering the pitch and you were sort of, you know, pacing the stage, trying to, you know, like in a very kind of like trying to be as I think as as is drama turkey as it was possible to be.
Starting point is 00:05:34 Right. And at one stage, you ran, you ran both your hands through your hair and then you brought your hands out of your hair, but your hair stayed in the position. So basically, you could implage yourself. and then you brought your hands out of your hair, but your hair stayed in the position. Oh. So basically, you could implage yourself. You suddenly, you ran your hands with your hair, and then you just had a shock of hair standing up, and you didn't know you'd done it.
Starting point is 00:05:53 Or maybe you did. I was pitching the stage up, saying if there's something about Mary, wasn't I? I did. I did. You did it on a set level. I did it myself for the stage. It was the classic Boris Johnson tactic I did it myself. I did it myself for the stage.
Starting point is 00:06:05 It was the classic Boris Johnson tactic of if people are thinking about your hair, they're not really concentrating on what you're saying. Yeah. And they can just, suddenly those tactics have gone now for me. Still working for him though. Yeah, I know. Very well for him. Yeah, so I've got a bald head and body. I've also got a bold business proposition for
Starting point is 00:06:28 a bold business proposition, okay. Yeah, sorry. I should I should define that further should I bold and bold bold Yeah, a bold body a bold body. I've got I've got I've also got a bold body actually You've got one of the one in the body. scriber's it don't quit. I'll tell you what it needs to start. It needs to think about this noticing because I need to at least skip every other day. I went to holiday clothes shop in there six days ago and a zoo to laws. I had to get something from Mark's
Starting point is 00:07:07 dispensers that was double XL. Oh, baby. And Mark's and Sparks is a forgiving brand. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Mark's and Sparks gives you room to maneuver but and a lot of elasticate wastes. Mark's and Sparks is the fat man's friend. It's the first time I've ever been in a hotel in London. I've never been in a hotel in London. I've never been in a hotel in London. I've never been in a hotel in London. I've never been in a hotel in London. I've never been in a hotel in London. I've never been in a hotel in London. I've never been in a hotel in London.
Starting point is 00:07:36 I've never been in a hotel in London. I've never been in a hotel in London. I've never been in a hotel in London. I've never been in a hotel in London. I've never been in a hotel in London. I've never been in a hotel in London. There's no shame in that, mate. Can you elasticate more than the waste, please? Soot a lot. Not that, actually. But, you know, I do know, of course I know.
Starting point is 00:07:57 You know, you know. You know, you know. Do you do that thing where you buy, you go, this is tighter than it wants to be, but I'll buy it because I'm gonna lose weight to fit it. And then, you never feel comfortable wearing it. Yeah. Or you don't lose weight in the right place,
Starting point is 00:08:17 and you still got the weight, you know, like. Yeah, I don't mean look, so I still got the boobs. I don't mind giving my digit. Do you, like, should we do a quick tale of our measurements over the years? Because I feel like I was 36 and it's from Taylor to tape. I thought 36, there I am, 36, happy with 36 waist. I thought there you go, it's a bit full of it, but it's fine.
Starting point is 00:08:39 Then I've straight to 38 and I've kind of made my piece with 38, but psychologically I'm always in my head, I'm a 36, I'm gonna get back to 36. Yeah. And then in Mark's and Spencer six days ago, I'm 39 because 40's too big, but 38 is tight.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Ah yeah, yeah. So you go, so that's where, that's, they they're my inches Tom. I'm just gonna say if you you know The thing about you is if you're happy in yourself then it's fine. I mean that's the problem Now I remember you've never been happy in yourself people when you had hair happy in yourself, people in your head. I know. The way it's like, the least you worry is. I'm quite the opposite. I'm quite content.
Starting point is 00:09:29 I felt quite good near the bath. I was by the pool thinking, yeah, you're looking good. No, that's what I mean. You don't need to worry about it. You're not unhealthy. You exercise, right? You're still looking after yourself. Do you exercise? Oh, darn it. Okay, let's do the tail of the tape. Come on, so I can
Starting point is 00:09:50 breathe. It's a nervous, nervous, nervous, nervous. It's a numbers chat this. It's got nothing to do with the routine. No, you're right. So yeah, go on. Crossbow, what's your spread? Where did you start as an adult? Where have you ended up? Where did you get to? I am currently, I would say, I think I'm wearing 29 today. Good, you're not available. So it's somewhere between 28 and 30 is usually the, that's the spread for me. But I'm a small person. Bear in mind, I'm not... Have you got to, you started around 28 and you've got to 30? No, I'm 29 at the moment, but I've been to 30.
Starting point is 00:10:28 I've been to paradise, but I'm definitely I'm gonna say did you enjoy it? I mean, I remember you in the 30s. You were strong man. That was strong. Yeah, but yeah, somewhere between the somewhere between 28 and 30 That's as good as it's got. It's where you'll find me. Yeah, if you're going to buy me a pair of cordroids, get me one of those sizes and you'll you'll probably hit the sweet spot. 29 seems to be a safe bet. Is this whole chat because you want to buy
Starting point is 00:10:54 Matthew some trousers? Well, can I tell you now? Look, how else are we going to do this? I've found my trousers now, by the way. I've found my trousers for the first time ever. Where were they? No, top of the night bus. To get a far lost damn kids.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Yeah. That was the thing. They weren't even top decked them on the top of the night bus. I've been assaulted at a bus stop. Five years you've been walking around with no bottoms on, looking for those bloody things. I know, I know. Terra firmer as it was known. So I, I, I was searching around because you know, I've got a, I've got a
Starting point is 00:11:33 short leg as well to go with the, with the short waist. And so I genuinely was like, what one shorter than the other? I've got one, yeah, I've got one short, one leg shorter than the other as well, but that's a separate, that's a separate, that's because Ray's on a mountain. I'm not probably. No, probably. So I've got short legs, and you can never buy basically
Starting point is 00:11:58 for a grown up adult male, they normally start the trouser leg at 30. So if I'm getting a 30, I'm doing a lot of rolling up. You know, I'm doing a lot of rolling in the trouser leg to get it to the other day. So I went on the Levi's website, if I'm yourself a pair of jeans, and you could type in both sizes.
Starting point is 00:12:18 You could type in the leg size, and you could type in the waist size. So I went to 29, 26, right? I thought, let's go for it, 29, 26. And a pair arrived, oh my God, I loved them. Best pair of jeans I've ever had, a pair of black jeans, I absolutely adore them. However, well this is it, on the back, it said,
Starting point is 00:12:39 women's, and so it turns out, that's my gene. Now, so I've just bought a bunch of women's's genes I just went back to bought them in every color the same genes. I've got the dark blues on today I've got the stone wash upstairs the blacks are in the wash. So it's looking. Yes, looking good You know it turns out that it was actually it's this it's gendered clothing that was holding me back from You know living my full potential. I'm not you know I not going to enter drag race anytime soon, but at least get... I imagine if you try to use that... I imagine if you try to use that to go and drag race. LAUGHTER
Starting point is 00:13:15 It's like much of a character, isn't it? Every routine you do, every... Gene Genie's the song... LAUGHTER Our next character is Miss Levi. How do you guess? Yes. I'd vote for your fella.
Starting point is 00:13:31 Thanks, man. It's right. I think I'd vote for your fella as a phrase that doesn't get used on Dragon Ball's Drag Race quite enough. I was considered as a guest judge, but they cut to Andrew Garfield. I'd vote for your fella. Getting him off top, man. So, as a guy who? But they cut to Andrew Garfield. Oh, both of you fella. Getting them off top man. So I was a guy with a pair of trousers.
Starting point is 00:13:49 I, I, to a fan my jeans, I think for the last, uh, I think eight years ago, I'm sure I've talked to them this way, just by the same exactly same pair of jeans, where until they wear out, go back in. They say show them my jeans and say, can I have another one of those and they give me a really? It's what I do. Yeah, it's going to an evil store and say, these please and they go, there you go. And then they go in the bin, they go on two years later. Do they take the old pair back?
Starting point is 00:14:17 No, I tend to hold on to them for painting and decorating because the crotch, you know, it's obviously, it's the crotch, isn't it? The crotch goes. It's always the crotch. You know, when you're working it's the crotch, isn't it? The crotch goes. It's always the crotch. You know, when you're working with a roller, especially if you're doing the ceiling, your balls tend to heat up. So a little bit of ventilation. Yeah, actually.
Starting point is 00:14:34 I mean, I've been fired. Oh, yeah. Just the blanket we started to do the setapp ladder working on the floor, right? Had a terrible instant with some varnish, actually. Just the blackness out to the setap ladder working on the floor. Had a terrible instant with some varnish actually. I'm just trying to finish the shed. Okay, Clarky, give us the tail in numbers. Where did you start? Where have you been to?
Starting point is 00:14:55 Where did you end up? That's the journey. Listen to dear. I'll be really interested in this. If any listed is, want to reply. It's like three numbers. It's where did you start? Where have you been?
Starting point is 00:15:06 Where did you end up? Right? Yeah. So it's like, I'd say minus 36, 40, 38. That's a no for 39. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, Look at my hair. Look at my hair. Tom, this is all being recorded. Oh, my almost end of me. Go on, then Clark 8.
Starting point is 00:15:34 34. Oh, he trims start. 36. And I kind of bounced between the 34-36-36. But also, they're never the same, are they? I suppose this is why you guys have done what you do. You're talking to two people who've just been talking about how they're always the same.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Yeah. It's a good point. No, I know exactly what you mean. You're going to River Island and you go like a river island. Well, that did that. Why are you going to River Island and you go, like a River Island for that. Well, I thought I'd do that. You're going to River Island. What a shot to pick. I mean, I like a 90s reference.
Starting point is 00:16:11 What are you doing going to River Island? River Island, I mean, yeah, anyway. Did you get your shirt from the Mad House? That plaid shirt you your wearing this gorgeous. There's a, yeah, like, well, you know, a gap. 38 isn't a marks and spends us 38. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, that's what you say. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sometimes you buy a 36 and you're like,
Starting point is 00:16:38 these are massive and then you buy a 34 and another type and you're like, these are tiny. Okay, so I've got big thighs. You do have big thighs, don't you, Clarky? I'm not afraid to say it. I've got big thighs and that was always an issue with jeans growing up. I can never have H&M jeans.
Starting point is 00:16:58 Have you ever been tailored? You ever had something built for you? Never. I'd be well interested inested again. Wait, is this Iron Man? It's Taylor's V.A. Tony Stark. I'm going to need you to reinforce the crotch, OK? I don't know. I'd be quite interested in getting a tailor on it and having a...
Starting point is 00:17:22 What is this podcast now? Take tailoring live with the Papi's boys or something. And like, that's the way that Taylor works. They measure us. And then they give us our body breakdowns. We can make it work. I think the party's been breaking down all of it, so thank you very much.
Starting point is 00:17:41 The problem is my body can't break things down quite as well as it used to. Like, I'd like a professional evaluation of our body types. Why would we want that? And why would we put it out? Our Twitter Bios. I don't know. Let's put it to the Bios. You might give us a new title to work with.
Starting point is 00:17:58 I don't know. Anyway, what are you hoping? Let's put, let's imagine, let's play the scenario with it. Fatshare S Slabda. Yeah Let's imagine right Parry, okay, you're you're the tailor, okay? You're coming on to the show So So
Starting point is 00:18:21 Yes, I grew up on a mountain It's a man's. It's probably. Right. So, we've got you on the show. What do you need to know from us in order to evaluate our body types? I'd say the river does. But how many inches round those thighs exactly? Oh, good question.
Starting point is 00:18:39 Clarky, you know. How long are your calves? How long are your calves? Measure your... That's right, man. How long are your calves Measure you're That really shocked Clarkie, he wasn't doing listen. He wasn't expecting that question Clarkie's I crossed the line. Carcay's unclipped his microlas stormed off He's pulled in news night on us. I'm a toddler, I can ask, I can ask these questions.
Starting point is 00:19:08 What's the end game with the assessing of the body? What's going to happen? And they'll say, do you know what, you are a classic, you're a vintage pair with strong tendency. Your vintage pair keeps fopping out your jeans, mate. Come on, it's fun to do these, you know, like you do, it's like the questionnaires you used to do in the teenage magazines.
Starting point is 00:19:29 And they say, oh no, it's a, they're not, we're not gonna come, we're not gonna come, get a tailor in and then they're gonna go, you're a classic Joey by the end of it. I think that's why I want to actually. I mean, I'm a series seven chandelier and I know that. It's okay. How's Beauty?
Starting point is 00:19:47 Beauty. How do they make bread with no wheat? How's Beauty? Do you want to see what the world is really like? Yes. Four things is deliciously funny and spectacularly entertaining. A woman planting her course to free them at in Lutford. It's non-stop bonkers brill day. I'm not going to be able to take you to the next day.
Starting point is 00:20:06 I'm not going to be able to take you to the next day. I'm not going to be able to take you to the next day. I'm not going to be able to take you to the next day. I'm not going to be able to take you to the next day. I'm not going to be able to take you to the next day. I'm not going to be able to take you to the next day. I'm not going to be able to take you to the next day. I'm not going to be able to take you to the next day.
Starting point is 00:20:22 I'm not going to be able to take you to the next day. I'm not going to be able to take you to the next day. I'm not going to be able to take you to the next day. I'm not this feels like you can be you can be diving out on this for weeks Honestly, I know you do the after dinner circuit This is this you'll get paid good money on the corporate circuit I'm doing a corporate for I'm doing the Taylor's award actually I'm trying to drop some material for it. Taylor's on this time. I saw a woman wearing a friend's t-shirt and it said Love like Phoebe. Yeah, but like it was like that. That friend's t-shirt and it said, love like Phoebe. But it was like that, that was the t-shirt so it was like. It ran out of, it couldn't remember the names of
Starting point is 00:20:55 the other ones. Is there a guy called Roy on the show? If there's one called Roy, I don't know, a box like him. And it said, it said laugh, like Ryan. It said laugh like Chandler. Oh, sure you laugh like Janice, don't you? Well, it was, they only dealt with the big lot. Right. Gunter. But Chandler's, would you say Chandler's a big life guy?
Starting point is 00:21:20 No, no, no. And that was really bothered, I didn't read the rest, because like that was the thing it was like. So, it was love, love like Ross, that's rest because it was like, so it was love like Ross, that's right, it was love like Ross. Okay, okay, sure, throw yourself at everybody, get married. I think it might have been like dance like Phoebe or someone like I don't know.
Starting point is 00:21:36 We did run like Phoebe because you know, she does the crazy running, she does the crazy run, that'd be good. Shall I try and find this, here we go. Here we go, I found it. Wow. That was good. I'm really good, man. Oh, sorry, when I saw someone
Starting point is 00:21:50 with that teacher, they just told me that. I don't think it's that. OK, OK, play the game with me, OK? Ready? OK, OK, here we go. This is good. Eat like. Joey.
Starting point is 00:22:02 Dress like. Rachel. Love like. Well, you well you said Ross it's Ross Ross cook like yeah sing like Phoebe and laugh like Chandler yeah it drops off there doesn't it because Phoebe famous I mean obviously the idea is she sings without realizing she's a good singer and that's I suppose that is the way to sing but I'm And also Ross loves terribly. Yeah. Yeah, he's had a checkered love life.
Starting point is 00:22:32 If you can describe Ross, he's had a checkered love life. And but also the thing that used to bother me when I was first watching Friends is that Chandler undoubtedly, right, you know, the funniest, the sort of the wittiest character in terms of saying funny things. No one ever laughs at his jokes, like because it will be mad to have other characters in a sitcom, having with laughter. But he must think, I'm working so fucking hard here. I am fucking nothing. I'm doing stuff that is worthy of a sitcom. Just give me a second guys. Double XL. Okay, you have just a little bit. You see, we gave that a lot. If it was channeler saying that. But yeah, like, and then I was trying to picture channeler laughing. I've been like, you normally laughs, like ironically or it's quite an odd laugh. Yeah, he'll do that here back at somebody. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:23:28 So anyway, I didn't get a chance to stop it, but I don't know why I was saying that. Is it because Chandler basically, the more you watch it, the more you realize with Chandler's now that many redeeming characteristics? Um, I don't know. When he got when he got really read, that was great. The series where his face when really red nothing wrong with that mate We're in that series right now I'm doing my ball gym waistline Tom talking about XXL. Do you not think though that as an XXL wearer? You're Yeah XXL. Do you not think though that as an XXL wearer, you're... Hang on. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:07 Oh, yeah, I am an XXL wearer. I mean, like, it was one shirt. Can I say, it was one shirt for hot, for a hot climate. Can you murder it? Like an emergency. It was one bullet. You're an XXL wearer. Two bullets. XX. And one off the Vin Diesel. Oh, God. But listen, Tom, but as an XXL wearer, what you're doing is you are getting a bargain
Starting point is 00:24:37 from the clothing world because you and I walk into a shop, I make my way to the shirts, you make your way to the shirts, you're buying XXL. I'm buying an excess, right? I am getting in excess Probably two of my shirts right true not considered this and I am getting so what I'm doing is I'm picking up the slack for you. So I'm actually, I'm bankrolling. That's that slack on top of me, so I'm saying that. I'm picking up the torts for you. And by the way, I've been jumping the torts.
Starting point is 00:25:17 I'm going to be playing the world, absolutely great. Can I have some more? I've had some other wrecks on that way, mate. But do you know what? So you actually do it. You know what? You shouldn't be mone the fact, you know, mate. But, you know what, so you actually do it, you know what, you shouldn't be mown the fact that you're, that you're the larger size now. You're getting more bang for your buck.
Starting point is 00:25:33 That's true, you're right. Although, consider this. Oh yeah. How about going on holiday, you get more in your case, right? More outfits for cross-body. Oh, absolutely. Oh, good point. Yeah, yeah. And more bank fuel.
Starting point is 00:25:47 We were on a board drive space. You remember the trips we've been on? Crossbeard has three costume changes a day. For some prices, go sketch friends. He was just popping to his room, coming out, seeing his afternoon shirt. I was stuck in the same jeans and t-shirt for three years. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:03 And then at the end of each day, I'd pop them on the Sylvainian families on the dresser. And then I'd throw them on top of the bus. Right, speaking of holidays, do you want to hear my bold new repos for you guys? Oh, OK, yes, sorry. I got this where we were getting to, of course. Well, it's always dangerous territory because when we get to the initial thing, it's never,
Starting point is 00:26:29 it's never good. Well, it's your thing, Tom, so it rests on you. There's something in this, I think. We'll back you on this, come on, let's hear it. I mean, of course, I wouldn't expect anything less. I've just come back from a trip abroad for the first time since Pre-Pando. I've just come back from a trip abroad for the first time since Pre-Pando. You went away and you shopped five days ago, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:51 And you went away four or you shopped six days ago and you went away five days ago. Yeah. So you did all your shopping the day before? Yes, absolutely. Good way to do that. You really like... Well, it's the start of the holiday, I think. And also, when you're awake, fluctuate as much as I you can't leave space
Starting point is 00:27:09 Like you know Normally every chance you'll go to a waffle house on the way to the airport Once I get into that duty free you're on holiday eating already then When you got a fluctuating waistline if I do you got to leave as little time as possible for things to kick in. So, yeah, in fact, imagine going on an American road trip and buying, I'd consider buying a 38 waist and a 40 waist pair of shorts, so I now I'm covered across the trip. Yeah, because of the barbecue, you're going to be consuming along the way. Do you know what I mean? I think the real holiday was the barbecue we ate along the way. I like Joey guys. So anyway, I, there are certain thrills
Starting point is 00:27:59 to go in abroad. And there's loads of things that are a ball ache about going abroad. Okay. And I was thinking about, this is a pitch to kind of like, I think you could rejuvenate the high street and also give people something that they're missing out on, which is. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:20 So no one buys things from high streets anymore, right? And that's, we have to realize that. That's okay, shopping used to be what the high street was there for. Yeah. The problem with the high street now is they're still trying to cling to that. They've got, you know, like phone boxes have kind of rebranded in a really sad, sometimes a sad way, but they're like, you can internet me, no. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:44 Again, they're so behind the time that but they're like, you can internet me. No. Yeah. And again, they're so behind the time that now they're like, I bet you don't have the access to the internet on you. Well, I do actually. What about, what about, if you want to pay 20 p.m. minute to use it? You know what? They're so long, they're so long for me,
Starting point is 00:28:58 waiting the plan to use internet from the phone boxes that by the time it's come round, everyone's like, sorry mate. Anyway, or the, you know, poor boy library stuff like that. Well, that's what the high street needs to, it needs to reject shopping. Go on, Clarky.
Starting point is 00:29:12 Clarky's got a side track. Sorry, sorry, sorry. No, just never apologize, never explain. What, what would be a useful use for those telephone boxes? Here we go. Print a boxes. You go in, you get to print your documents. Because that's the one thing.
Starting point is 00:29:27 I got it. Wait, is it printing? Is it printing to say something else that's been completely eradicated by smartphones and the internet? What? No, because occasionally you do need something. If you go into an airport quite often, they want you to print stuff off.
Starting point is 00:29:42 Not anymore, mate. When was the last time you went to an other lucky. Lucky no way. No, that's it forms for COVID. We had to print off loads of stuff. You didn't have the COVID app? Yeah, they still have things on them where you need to print this printed version of it.
Starting point is 00:30:00 Yeah, not anymore bro. But remember, Clarky went on holiday mid-Panda, didn't they? Yeah, he did go mid-P. He remember Clark. He went on holiday. Clark. He went on holiday mid-Pando didn't they? Yeah, he did go mid-P was one of those Mavericks You know when you're following the law you don't need pay Hey, I saw it open. I got to get yeah, he'd heard there was a really good printer in Spain It's like I could buy one for 30 quid or it's 15 quid easy jet so Yeah, he flew all the way. I think if they go big on printers, I mean, don't get me wrong because I'm a fan of the printed doc.
Starting point is 00:30:37 The printed one, I like, you know, I am a word smith. But increasingly, like, yeah, we did the entire trip on my wife's phone well well well back to the future style clicking to the back right anyway okay anyway I honestly you may be left like Chandler then I I don't mind the prince Jeff what you doing by the way you're flopping a bit of paper Against the microphone what you up to what is this? Have you printed something off during this chat
Starting point is 00:31:23 Tom what you up to there with that bit of paper That your idea that your idea? You written it down? No, no, this is, I'm just really hot. Oh, yeah. It's, I mean, my cupboard under the stairs. Yeah, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, to shift, you know, so it's not bad actually, I brought myself in clean film. And I'm on an excise bike. You can't see it but I'm on an X-Side bike. So I hope I think God. If anyone is why Tom is out of breath, I mean he's normally out of breath recording this podcast but there's a good repage this. Did we pitch this on my code? Did we just have this as a conversation?
Starting point is 00:32:00 Podcast Pedalaton. Yeah, where we exercise through every record and we each come in live from an exercise bike and our listeners can do the same and together we just do every record we're doing miles it'd be a real good and we at the end of each episode we log how many miles we've each done. Cumulatively. We could use it to raise loads of money for our pay tree. We're doing a sponsored cycle. Who use bottles? For our charity, me.
Starting point is 00:32:35 Do these ex-mikes with cheap? I've got them on higher perch. We try to pay them off. We need to make six rounds just to break even. I just think, look, I'm struggling to find the hours in the day to exercise. Some of my hours in a day go to doing this. If I'm peddling, I've realised an idea. I'm a peddle pod.
Starting point is 00:33:00 It'd be great. I mean, they're all realised off. Like, you and I are sweating really, confusedly right now. Maybe I'm sweating now, so that when I start peddling, people won't realise. That's clever, that is. Have you thought of that?
Starting point is 00:33:16 Do I keep... Why would you have thought of that before this conversation? I don't know. I tell you what, I tell you what. Here's the... OK. OK. What about this, then? One of the... Nick, one of the podcasts in in the next one of our podcast in the next six weeks I will be on a I'll be on an exercise bike and
Starting point is 00:33:36 Listen to dears have to guess and do you have an exercise bike? Yeah, yeah, I've got one in my back garden It's your back garden? Yeah, I haven't got room. I think there's either me indoors, but I haven't got room to them. I haven't got, I haven't got a bike. I haven't got any room for my accident doors. So I haven't got any room for my accident, I haven't got any room for my accident. So the plan is, so what I do is I get on the bike outside my
Starting point is 00:34:08 kitchen window and then I put something on my laptop and look, I look through the kitchen window at my whatever's on my laptop and I cycle in the back garden because I can't fit it in the house. And then I put an outdoor cover on my bike because like in a dream world. Yeah, I In a dream world I would have made more money And I'd be living in a mansion and actually I have a personal trainer You know what in a dream world I think we don't have different bodies You know, in a dream world, I think we don't have different bodies. But would we just switch with each other? Yeah, yeah. I want your big thighs, Clarky.
Starting point is 00:34:53 Well, I think I'll tell you what, I think pedal pod might be, it's just like three guys pedal and torque. It feels like that might be the rebranding that kicks us into, you know, heart attack, the retirement. Yeah. Kits us into needing regular physio. Certainly a different genre. We'll be in the, you know, we'll be in the sports section or something.
Starting point is 00:35:15 We don't change our content. We're just cycling as we do it. Oh, because I tell you what, there are no sports podcasts. It's one of the, it's a really, it's a real untapped market, the sports podcast. But, you can look at the top 10, I know, to the top 10 aren't sports podcasts. And really most of the sports podcasts are talking about it though, rather than doing it and talking about something completely different.
Starting point is 00:35:43 Talking about the death of the high school, I was on a pellet on. I don't know, man. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha listen. You have to. If you're ready, you're not too stupid. You're surely half a team. Well, I've got an exercise bike as well, so I can... Do you? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've got one from, like, it's Charlie, I mean, I say, I've got one, Charlie has one, it's from the 90s,
Starting point is 00:36:16 it is a real, like, it's a real hunk of junk. But it works. Mine's a big, horrible yellow thing that I bought second hand from a guy who had it in his garden and and used it in a long time. It was a nice garden as well, yeah. Tom, can I ask you a question? By the way, when you press down the pedals do you move forwards? Are you constantly bumping into your window? Is your face pressed up against the window? your face pressed up against the window. What are you cycling? Because I think sure it's a bike you can do exercise on.
Starting point is 00:36:50 But the exercise you're doing is cycling. Well, it's a spin bike. So I've just come across the sound might be a problem. Yes, that's it. I wonder that. It might be our only problem. Have you put playing cards in the yeah. Spoky dokeys. Well, look, anyway, I think, seriously, come on now. I think pedal Ponsa, I think pedal Ponsa go. How's me doing? I live in a house made up of iron sheets. How's me doing? I've finished by trying to pitch you my high street idea.
Starting point is 00:37:30 Okay. Now that I think about it, it's probably not my deal. The first bit of it is an ideal for the high street pedal pole. Okay, right. Wait, hang on a second. So this is your idea to save the high street. And you just realised that it's not a good idea for the high street. What are you saying that we're not on the high street? Well, it's not. You know, you know, when you go abroad, like, there's like certain queues thrills.
Starting point is 00:37:55 Like, we're not saving some sort of foreign high street, are we? Because count me out. I don't want you to know Portuguese high street. No, no, in fact, this is a very Brexit idea actually. Okay, here we go. That's more than what we're doing. That was pretty good. You know, I've read letter days. Yes.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Okay, or escape rooms. Yeah. You have like slightly more mundane versions of those that exactly recreate the experience of being abroad. So, for example, the bit where you first get your higher car and you go out on the road and you drive for about 20 minutes, you drive it on the wrong side of the road, not in your car and you've never felt more alive or close to death. And then after about 25 minutes it becomes normal
Starting point is 00:38:37 again and then you're just driving. But that first 25 minutes, that is part of your heightened holiday experience. So for example, you'd go to a car park. Wait, you've got 20th of a rock. Wait, down the high street. You've got an area of this. By the way, this starts with an area where you've got to drive for 25 minutes on the other side of the road. You've got to find an area of space. This is the bit that allows you to drive for 25 minutes.
Starting point is 00:39:02 I know, look, this is the bit that isn't great for the high street. a bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, a Look at scenes of Belgium through your kitchen window. Just let your own holiday. No, that is better. That's a better idea than mine. Seeing the passenger seat. Just get an exercise car. But then you go, you could go to a, there's like a thing on your high street. And I guess what I'm kind of pitching is a bit like the strip of Las Vegas, but in a much smaller manageable way. Okay. So like you go into this place and it's like Turkey, like a Turkish restaurant,
Starting point is 00:39:55 but like you have to, you don't understand the money very well. Tom, Tom, Tom, Tom. Tom, Tom. There's a Turkish restaurant in Brody High Street. You can just go to that. You want to go to a Turkish restaurant? I'll take you to a Turkish restaurant. And I'll take you. If you want to, I'll drive the wrong way down the road to get you there. I guess I'm trying, yeah, it's like that. Yeah, he's like that, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:40:18 I think he's like something slightly more of that. Are you pitching stacation to us? Well. Well. Well. Where is? No, no, no, no. A stacation is just a hollard.
Starting point is 00:40:35 In fact, is a stacation just staying in your house? It's either that, as I said, it's a bit too definition, isn't it? It's either that or a staying within the country you live in. I don't think, yeah, I'm firmly in this, I think it used to be staying in your house. Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah. I think holidaying in the UK isn't a staycation.
Starting point is 00:40:53 No, that's a holiday. Yeah, yes, for what I'm proposing is like a red, maybe like you call it red skin letter day or something, or like, you know, it's like, it's like's like your holiday holiday on the high street and it's like like in Vegas when you can stay in Venice and then you walk and you're walking down any Venice and stuff. Oh, you get in New York, New York. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you get you get experiences that recreate certain thrills about being abroad. It's like mundane thrills. Yes. It's like secret. You know, you know, when they reprated the back to the future, the town square with the clock tower in it,
Starting point is 00:41:30 and every little shop you went into was like, you know, the travel agents or the sweet shop or whatever, and some of them sold things or some of them, you could go in and, you know, you could potentially work in them and stuff. That's kind of what you're doing. You could say, oh, is anyone going to Malaga next week? And you know that that little street is going to be Malaga for a week. Exactly. Yes, you know, it's a chance to have holiday experiences. You can get a babysitter and you can be home by 11 o'clock, but it'll feel like you've been out in Reykjavik. That's great. I love it. So you have like the 20 minutes where you're driving on the wrong side of the road. You have like being in a restaurant, not quite understanding what you're buying. And Google translate can't quite help you. So you kind of shoot blind for it. So you have like the 20 minutes where you're driving on the wrong side of the road you have like being in a restaurant Not quite understanding what you're buying and Google translate can't quite help you so you kind of shoot blind for it
Starting point is 00:42:10 I was once in Budapest and I ordered something and when it arrived it was the potato plate Delighted when it arrived it turned out to be a sharing platter that I'd ordered for myself Yeah, and it was like potato eight different ways. Oh, yes, please. And it's one of the best meals of my life. I mean, we've been drinking since midday. There I was with this potato plate. If you've been on the beat for like,
Starting point is 00:42:38 to abolish it, can you remember the potatoes? Can you talk us through them? No, but there was something like, it's a real blur. Yeah, I can No, but there was Real it's a real blur. Yeah, can imagine there was like we're talking about you know that there was like gratine There's a bit of dofin Warr going on. There was like obviously fries. I think a bit of mash and there was but there was lots of other shit happening But it was all spuds rosti Rusty it was served on a rosti exactly and then Rusty. It was served on a Rusty.
Starting point is 00:43:02 Exactly. It served on a big Rusty. Oh, beauty. So it was incredible. I'm just saying, like, if I'd have known what I was ordering, I probably would have, well, I don't know, if I would have shown myself actually. I'm like, I want to give people that thrill
Starting point is 00:43:16 on the high streets up and down this country. And then, way out. And then, way out. On the way out, you can buy a bigger T-shirt for your journey home. Exactly, right? Yeah, for your journey home. Exactly. Yeah. Do you like to say, I hope, I went much harder to fly these days.
Starting point is 00:43:29 People can't print off the necessary documents. You need to help them at home, Jeremy. No, it's all good. It's like a, yeah, stay vague, stay vague, stay, stay, Stagas. What happened to Stagas? Stagas, Stagas. Jason Stagas? What happened to Stagas? Stagas Stagas Stagas Stagas Stagas Stagas Stagas If we can get Stagas on involves
Starting point is 00:43:50 I'm absolutely up for that I'm trying to call it Stagas now No I know because it does suggest Vegas doesn't it But you can't call it Stakation Because it's two, you know It's just two associated with other things. A holiday? Like a holiday but from the home? I don't mind it. Homey day?
Starting point is 00:44:15 Clarke, bring your homies. Not having a holiday? No. Homey day. Oh, oh, got it, I've got it. Hollister! Hollister. Hollister. Yeah Hollister was lucky That's the sweat. Yeah, I tell you what so just I'm back day on back days were 36 after that Can we just check our check our miles at the end of that time that episode everyone? Can we just check our, check our miles at the end of that, um, that ever saying everyone? Because guess what, listeners?
Starting point is 00:44:46 We've been on a peloton the entire time! We've been on a trend in peloton, it's the same peloton. We've all been sad. Front to back, like the goodies. The baddies. How's BD? What would you say to Bro? How's BD? What would you say to Bro?
Starting point is 00:45:05 How's BD? Probably nothing at all. Wow, what a funny conversation that was actually. You know what? It's a real relief actually. The billing that we had going into that, we actually pulled it off in the end. Yeah, you know what, we didn't overhype it. That was.
Starting point is 00:45:19 If anything, we should go back and get it worse. Let's go back and re-record. Let's go back and re-record. This is the greatest episode of a podcast you're ever going to listen to. This is the funniest conversation that has ever been had. Truly, truly is. So what else do we need to say?
Starting point is 00:45:34 Don't forget the flat-sheast slam down. Yeah, and if you're a fan of funny conversations, get on the Patreon. Yeah, don't do it, guys. We do an extra fun conversation every week. And with lots of emails from other patrons, there's a wonderful patron community, gets a patron, finders on there and get involved.
Starting point is 00:45:54 Absolutely right. For four pound bucks, yeah, sorry. Well, I was gonna say, if you have trouble accessing the internet, there are phone boxes on the corner of street in your town. Does anybody want to be in a phone talk? A transcript of the funniest conversation that's ever happened. You will laugh like Chandler. You will run light for you, me. Right.
Starting point is 00:46:23 Stay tuned for the Patreon namehood Watch Roll call. That's just around the corner. Thank you, by the way, to everyone who got in touch, wishing Professor Emma Corsham, our dear friend, get well soon messages. We can reveal she's on the mend, she's doing much better, she will be there. We can't have, listen. Too much time off. If you could take a sick day, just expect to get the can mate. All right, you're allowed one. We haven't had one sick day.
Starting point is 00:46:49 We've had it here. We've handed her her limping orders, and she is out of here. No, she'll be back very soon, and huge thanks to producer Gwynne for stepping in and being such a wonderful guest producer of these episodes. This month, it's been absolutely invaluable.
Starting point is 00:47:06 The only reason I say that is because he's on the Zoom now and he's looking straight at us. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I suddenly got a cold there. I'm so nervous. I'm so nervous. I really heartfelt actually. Real, unnerving presence. Is it, wait, I mean, if you can tell, obviously we're on peloton's for the entire time,
Starting point is 00:47:20 but when was sharpening a knife? Is that a weird thing for a producer to do? The entire way through the podcast? Get pointing at individual boxes on the Zoom chat and running his finger across his throat. Is that a lot of thing to do for a podcast? I know. I've cycled more miles than I've ever cycled in my life. And also it's the funniest conversation that ever happened in the show. Yeah, so it works. You know, it's something in it. He gets results. I was going to say like Phil Specter, but of course Phil Specter

LAUGHTER What a terrible start to the day! If you're comfortable, get up. Please be upstanding, boys and girls.
Starting point is 00:48:31 I want to be nice. Is comfortable. I can't wait up your bastards. LAUGHTER For this is the story of today's neighborhood Patreon Watch role call. Once upon a time in a lovely town there was a man called Scott. He didn't wash for seven days and his scrotum began to rot. You're running out of the room. You've really captured straight away Tom. The absolute
Starting point is 00:49:10 style of a children's story. Honestly, it's like he and Blight. This is a story. Really a lot of that. That's a hell. So. And Paul Smelly Scott, he refused to wash. He wouldn't wash his arms, his scrotum, or his face. Face. Yes, his face.
Starting point is 00:49:42 Despite the fact that his dear friend have had a few drinks, Despite the fact that his dear friend have had a few drinks, despite the fact that his dear friend with the flannel was standing there and her name was rich. You got to her a bit early then, and I'm delighted. Yeah, I did. I had to add a few extra details. But I think actually, it was the making of it,
Starting point is 00:50:04 because she was there. She was there, but I think actually it was the making of it because she was the top of her just told her. She was, she was such a poor rolling sitting. She was Chris Cross apple sauce. She stood up so fast, she popped both at a poor old rage, popped both her knees out of their circuits and there was a meatly. I don't know if everyone got an A. Everyone got A's. She, she resembled the flannel by the end of it. I'm not going to lie to you. This is the story of Jessica Speed, who sadly took the cakeway drug, weed. Okay, all right.
Starting point is 00:50:43 Let's get there of here we go. Sadly took, she took some weed. She's one of those weed takers, we've heard so much. When she had taken the weed, she bowled over and pushed Rachel the flannel to the floor. Scott was cross. Calm down, Scott. It isn't Jessica's faults let's blame the weed seller he stood over there and his name or their name is old his And poor old Al's was rushed out of the house and he said,
Starting point is 00:51:30 not before I put my face on, I can't see my one true love, the sweet heart, Stu Mason. And then in burst, he's too guy. And he said, actually, you can take weed in many ways. His tame, of course, was Ali Hayes. Ali Hayes was a trouble maker, who lived in a castle outside of town, and so they went to that house, and then they saw... Ronnie Thomas Osborne? Is that where they saw? They saw Ronnie Thomas Osborne. Who turned into a fawn?
Starting point is 00:52:24 Oh! Oh! Save this. Save this. He turned into a fawn or they turned into a fawn. Dear Ronnie. Sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss Anyway, Matthew P.T. was the last one. Thank you everybody for being a member of the Patreon. That's nice.
Starting point is 00:52:52 You know, some days you're going and some days you're doing. I feel like for us today it was one of our favourite. A pair of horses feety? I was going to do sign a treaty actually. Which is better than a pair of horses feety, yeah. But you know what, let's try and do both. You know what, let's go to feet anyway, don't they? Forns do have, yeah, they've got like,
Starting point is 00:53:14 they've got goat's feeties, yeah. They've got goat's feeties, I can see what we can do. That concludes, no, no, no. I'm going back to you. It's not fair on Matthew, my name's like, it's not fair on him to bow out. So here we go. Corsol Petey Crossbow.
Starting point is 00:53:30 Who you calling a corsel? So Ronnie Thomas-Iceborn with his lovely goat-like feety. Trotted along through her fahill and dail. Where it was time to sigh. I was just trying to treat him. Yes, look at him. When he arrived for the treatysigning. Oh no! Yeah, a banquet he did see.
Starting point is 00:54:03 Would you like to eat some food? Oh, no no food for me For Ronny Thomas Osborne he had already eaten He had a perfect gorgeous dinner with his dear friend Matthew Petey that concludes the patriot name would watch roll call We could have gone off and delete it. LAUGHTER Buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh So how do we know me? So we don't be on this? It's a nice look. No, it's good, man. No, no, no. Do you want to see what the world is really like? Yes. Four things is deliciously funny and spectacularly entertaining.
Starting point is 00:54:53 A woman planting her course to freedom at a lot for it. It's non-stop bonkers brilliance. I love that. Four things. It's a like theaters, December 15. Oh, I know it. Yeah. It was good. It was good. It was great. more things in select theaters December 15th.
