Seven Lamb presents Paralyzed Chapter 10 Pain for Peace Part 2 I needed to relax, but I was having a hard time thinking straight. I tried reading through the printouts David had brought back from the library. about the storm, but I couldn't focus. I was almost out of whiskey. I don't think there was any left in the liquor cabinet.

Guess I'll have to drink something else. I took a little over an hour, but David and Julie had finally fallen asleep. I was starting to get tired, too. My stomach ached. I really should eat something, but I didn't feel like moving. Maybe I should wake, David. The last thing I need to do is fall asleep and leave us exposed. Two more hours. Then I'll wake them. Then I'll get a little sleep. Tomorrow we leave. We had no other choice. The creatures could get inside. We weren't safe here. I got away from Sanders. I could get away from trust.

I tried reading about the storm. Why was this happening again? Why was it happening to David? I shouldn't have brought him here. I put him in danger. I put all these people in danger. What? What? What? What?

Kent? Kent was my partner that I lost in the woods the night we were attacked by Sanders. How? How could he be here? Ken? Over here. By the window. I forced myself up and stumbled to the other side of the room. I tripped over Julia's foot. But she didn't wake.

Ken? Are you over here? Yes, sir. Right. I walked over to the window, which was blocked by dining chair, stacked upon one another. I shifted the top chair and pulled the curtain back. There he was. In the rain, Kent.

Standing about ten yards out, past a row of bushes. He waved. I waved back. Roland, are you okay? I rubbed my eyes. No, I'm not. Are you? I'm fine.

Look at me. Don't have I'm fine? I couldn't find you in the woods. No one could. I got lost. I thought Patricia Sanders got you. No, Roland. I'm fine. I can't show you something.

something? Yeah, yeah. My head was throbbing. I closed my eyes a few seconds and reopened them to see Kent walking towards the window. Do you want to see? What is it? A surprise. Go to the front door. How did you get here to Layton Falls? Go to the front door. How did you know I would be here? Go go the front door Okay I looked over to David and Julia They continued to sleep

When I peered back outside Kent was gone I headed toward the front door What did he want to show me David, David, wake up, David, wake up. What is it? What is it? What is it?

What's going on? Roland's acting weird. She was talking to someone outside. What? When? Just now. She was talking to someone? Yeah.

Where'd she go? Ken. Ken, are you here? I walked up to the front door. Neither Charlie. nor Steve were in the living room. Where could they be? I'm here, Roman.

Open the door. I can't. The creatures outside. I don't see the creatures. I moved the vertical end table and peered out the window to see Kent in front of the porch. Don't you want to see?

I can hear her. Can't you hear her? Oh shit. David. Julie was staring out the kitchen window. I ran over and peered out. outside in the pouring rain stood Sefton Trust with his doll mask, facing the front door. Kent is out there. It's my daughter. That's not Kent. It's trust. No.

Don't open the door. Roland stared at us a moment before reaching for the doorknob. Before I could interject, a bat came down, knocking her on the back of the head. She collapsed onto the ground, writhing in the door. pain. Charlie appeared around the corner, bat in hand. Charlie, what did you do? Don't move. Julia and I spun around to see Steve in the dining room. He carried a rifle, which was pointed at my chest. He walked slowly towards us. What are you doing? Ending this fucking nightmare. By killing us? by killing him

I didn't say anything I just watched as Steve slowly got closer you can't do this he's tied to all of this if we kill him there's a good chance it all goes away you don't know that

I don't know anything about what's going on but Esther is dead Beth is dead Joel is dead I'm not going to be ripped apart like them this ends now. Julia stepped in front of me. I won't let you. Julia? No. Move aside, honey. I won't. Pick your battles wisely. I am. I'll shoot through both of you if I have to. This ends tonight.

You can't shoot her. Shut up, Charlie. That was not part of it. Then be useful and get her out of the way. Charlie charged into the kitchen He reached for Julia's arm But she pulled away She yanked a knife out of her waistband And slashed at Charlie Holy shit are you fucking crazy Back off

He's gonna shoot you I will I'll shoot you I'll shoot right through you If it means this is all over Julia stop I won't let them This isn't your fault

It is though No Maybe Maybe this will all go away But you don't know that Julia kept her eyes on Charlie and Steve, keeping between us. Girl, I won't warn you again.

Move. Julia, move. Shit, they're coming back. Move! No. Charlie, get her out of the way, or I shoot them both. Fuck that. You're not hurting her. She didn't do anything. Neither did David.

He brought this to us. This is his fucking night. nightmare. No. Charlie, get her out of the way. Julia, don't do this. Get her out of the way. I said that I. You fucking stop.

I'm trying to help you. Charlie, fuck! Julia, stop. She turned around and looked at me with watery eyes. Stop. Just then, Charlie pounced. Knocking Julia to the grant. I was now exposed.
